12:08hrs: I woke, well I didn’t really, I just gave up trying to get to sleep. I had to get up anyway, for a wee-wee (Hard to believe, I know. Hehe!) Dean Martin’s version of ‘Just one more chance, was firmly embedded in my head, and I was singing or humming to myself for hours and hours. Here’s a link for anyone who doesn’t know it, a smooth ballad and catchy tune. Just one more chance
My sort of music. Enough of my noctuary, back to the lactarium.
I rose from the £300, second-hand, c1968, clapped out recliner, got the stick and made for the EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee Bucket), where I had to endure another of the ELDOUWW’s (Extra-Long-Drawn-Out-Unremitting-Wee-Wee’s). After what seemed a ridiculously long time, the flow finally ebbed, and the bucket was in need of emptying and sanitisationing. So, a limp to the kitchen, which revealed that after such a long time, Arthur Itis was in full-damage mode, pain wise, in the knees. Boy, he was in a bad mood!
I got the bucket cleaned and returned to near the computer, and had to use it again. This time, for a surprising VSHLP (Very Short-Hosepipe-Like-Painful) wee-wee. After the first one, this caught me out a bit.
I got the kettle on and did the health checks. With good results, today: Sys 136, Dia 66, Pulse 85, and Temperature at 35.1°c (93.2°f), is that a little high? No, I don’t think so.
Made a brew, and got the computer on. Checked the Google Calendar, to make sure I’d added the date for the Air Filter appointment for it to be serviced. I had. (Oh, yes! Haha!) Smug-Mode-Adopted.
The first task was to get a top-graphic, and a Thought was done for the next post. This was when the fingers and hand started to dance-away to its heart’s content! Grumph, and bother! It came and went for several hours, for varying periods of time. During which my patience was tested to the full. As I was finishing off the Thought graphic, I had to go for a Porcelain Throne session. But, it was not to be. Everything seemed solid and immovable again. I washed, made a brew, and took another Senna tablet.
Then the big push, despite the jumping-fingers and the lousy language used, I pressed on and got the updating done. Finished and got it posted off. But not, until gone 05:00hrs! Huh!
I made a start on this blog but had the call to the Throne again. Full of hope for a successful evacuation this time, I grabbed the stick and was off to the wet room. What a change, still painful and a fair bit of bleeding, but far less resistance. This confused me a little. After some thought on the problem, I realised I had taken the last Senna, from a new pack that I had emptied earlier.
So, maybe the old packet was a little out of date, and that was why I had been struggling to free things lately?
I took a snap of the plates-of-meat. The water retention has gone down well, the feet look healthier, and the leg-ulcer seems to be fading away again. New marks on top of the right foot. But it appears different each day lately.
I continued (Wee-wee interrupted frequently) with this blog for an hour or two, and went to make a mug of tea. The view of outside’s sky, made me get the camera, and go onto the balcony, at high risk of losing a chunk of finger when opening the metal spring opener that has to be pushed to bend the metal, and pulled towards you, to open the window, at the same time!
But, my bravery was rewarded with some half-decent shots of the cloud formations. I still can’t work out how to do Panorama shots on this camera, it will just not do them! So I took pictures across the sky. They were naturally beautiful, I thought.
1 / 6
I got the peas podded and in the pan to marinate with some demerara sugar.
I’d better get the ablutions done, try to see Josie for when she wants her meal this weekend, and get out for a walk with the trolley. I must not stay in for too long, it makes one get idle.
Ah well, off to the wetroom. Mustn’t rush with the shaving, cutting of the skin and toe-stubbing skills I have acquired! Hehe! All sorted.
I noticed that the legs and knees were suddenly starting to return to their normal warped, fluid-filled, papsule covered status! However, the feet were looking and feeling much better, and the leg ulcer is hardly noticeable now? Every day something changes, sometimes more than once!
I made up some black bags and one for recycling and was going out the door with the trolley, and Josie came out, she kindly took the bags for me. Bless her cotton socks! But was in a rush to meet with her family, and I couldn’t find out which day and at what time she fancied the cheesy potato meal in the morning. Tsk!
I stopped underneath the bottom trees on the footpath hill, that goes up into Woodthorpe Grange Park for a while. It was shaded and fresh, and I took a minute or two to take in the smells. Realising that this is now my tree copse, for I can never get into the trees again, but this little patch is a good substitute that I can walk into for a few moments and appreciate wildlife and the beauty of the wildflowers.
As I started to continue up the hill, Dizzy Dennis came over me, and I considered going back to the flat. An uncomfortable sensation and the vagueness of mind increased a lot. So, I took it very slowly and carefully and carried on up into the park, determined to get some more photographicalisationing done.
I stopped under the pathway trees and took a shot of the fallen warped tree branches. A certain sadness always comes over me when I see this area as I pass by.
As I neared the gates out onto Mansfield Road, my newly-found fixation and nephelognosy with the clouds made me take a picture of the sky, showing the fantastic patch of clouds in which I saw a figure that reminded me of something.
But I can’t find it now! Humph! Hehe!
As I plodded up and over the hill into Sherwood, I spotted this agricultural machine doing a fair rate of knots and bouncing about.
I think the chap driving it, posed for me as I took this picture of him. Haha!
Dizzy Dennis returned and was determined to ruin my day. I have to admit it, he won!
I decided to just walk down Mansfield Road and take some photographs, and catch the L9 bus back up to the flats. I felt a little fragile, and the mind started wandering.
Down the hill, and took some photos. With a few Nottinghamian Off-Road Cyclist included.
On the way down
At the bus stop
At the bus shelter, the amazing nubilous sky again caught my nephelococcygia’s attention. And once again, afterwards, when I viewed this picture, I could not see what it was that I had read or seen in the sky. I don’t know why I bother!
The bus arrived, and the short, jerky, almost violent side-saddled seat on the bus journey, was survived. Hehe!
I was still not feeling up to scratch, as I walked along Chestnut Way back to Woodthorpe Court. Dizzy Dennis lingered, giving me a few afflictive moments en route.
The appalling mess they had made of laying the lawn, irked me a bit. But, Nemo Mortalium Omnibus Horis Sapit (No Man is at all hours wise!) came to mind. And I thought of some of the things that I have done over the years! (I flinched and even eschewed at some of them, in embarrassment!)
But things cheered up when Christine caught up with me on the road, and we had a very welcome side-tracking chinwag moaning session and laughs! Bless her ♥. We went up in the elevator together, and I was so glad we did, she was in a gregarious mood, and in those few moments that we spoke and joked, she cheered me up no end!
As I got into the flat, Damned Dizzy Dennis came at me again! I decided to get the nosh sorted first, as at least the dancing and shaking from the right-hand side limbs, was not so active!
As I got the meal on, I went to put the three-wheeler away in the junk room and found a letter from Nottingham City Homes. Confirmation of Video Door-Entry Installation Date, for the flat. Next Friday.
The changed appointment day and time, I confirmed on the Google Calendar.
The meal was one of betterer ones, I think. Franks, chips (fries), garden peas, tomatoes and a mini-cheese and pickle pork pie. I had some caramelised onion pickle with it and milk bread and butter. A lemon mousse to follow.
I had a bottle of spring water with some added orange cordial, and with the tray still nestled on my lap, I drifted off to sleep! Minutes later, I sprang back to life, and as expected, the tray fell off of my knee! Propitiously, I had eaten everything on the plate, apart from some bread. So there was minimal cleaning up to do!
I got the evening medications taken and made a brew. While waiting for the kettle to boil, I popped out on the petrifyingly dangerous, light & view blocking, multi-window that can’t be reached to clean, and the finger chewing metal spring clip opener that needs to be pulled and pushed at the same time to open new balcony.
Once again, I could not resist snapping the clouds up in the sky.
The magnificence of them did not escape my attention.
Nor did the metal-spring clip closer’s inability to let one close it quietly. I’m afraid it made one hell of a thud when I eventually got the window to close
19:00hrs, I woke with a start, some noise from above for a few seconds. Sounded like someone had dropped something on the floor. I hope it wasn’t himself! I pondered on going up to check on things. But then I heard some scraping and tapping noises, so I knew he was back working and was alright.
I nodded off again, and was woken by I know not what? I had to have a look around, to satisfy myself that all was well. I opened the flat door to listen for any fire alarm, none in progress. I looked out of the window, the kitchen window, that required me to use the step ladder. I could have gone out on the balcony to have a look below, but the finger-mauling metal spring clip opener I deemed as more of a danger to me, that the using the step ladder was. As I was checking around, I had to visit the Porcelain Throne. I say visit, it was more like my moving into the wet room for the night! There I was, on the Throne, the evacuation half-way, and waiting painfully for something to move! I had a go at the crossword book, I’ve never known things to take so long!
When finally the motion was completed, (Ah!) cleaning things, the blood and myself up, I took another Senna and pain killer and got back in the £300, second-hand, rickety, grotty-beige coloured, rusty, rickety, recliner. I fell asleep just as I was thinking that sleep may not come quickly. It did! But only for around four hours. But this was more than of late. Hey-Ho!
03:10hrs: I woke and released my overweight body from the £300, second-hand, c1968, grungy-beige coloured tatty recliner. Got the stick and had a WYSAOWW (Weak-Yet-Spraying-All-Over-Wee-Wee), in the partly-filled EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee Bucket). I had to empty and clean the bucket and myself afterwards. Sanitised the bucket, and had to use it again!
Got the health checks, then the medications were done. Made a brew, and got onto the computer to update yesterday’s blog… Oh, dearie me!
03:25hrs. Very unfortunately, unwelcome, silly, cataclysmal, detrimental, soul-destroying, pathetic, and typical of old Inchy nowadays. Who, in conjunction with the amazingly unreliable Liberty-Global Virgin Media, and the Peripheral Neuralgia/Axonotmesis ailments, or as the Podiatrists said, too many ‘Issues’, and the photographicaIisationing handicap: I managed, after hours and hours of work, to lose all the efforts (apart from the first couple of paragraphs) I’d done on this post! Mainly the damned fingers, they were jumping and pressing unknown keys, I got blue messages I did not understand, and the catastrophe ensued! Eventually, I stopped crying and swearing. Then I started again! Grrr! Nash! Sob!
So, I made up the post from the few distant memories I could recall, (not many) a few notes I had made, and the recall-prompting photo’s I’d taken. The dancing fingers, hand, arm and shoulder, may win today. If anything happens like this again, I’ll give up. It’s too soul destroying!
I finished the post update (Eventually, despite and in defiance of the problems I was having) and got it sent off to WordPress. It took me as much time making corrections as original typing, though. Most Aggranoyying!
I got the kettle on, and sat down with the sock-glide, and realised I’d not had done the ablutionising session yet. (I pick up things sometimes, belated, mind) I was going to get up again and spotted a rather intense, not discreet, or subtle, change in the leg-ulcer markings.
It looked like a burn mark maybe, but that is not the case? Unless I had been doing some unknown nocturnal gadding about? I’m pretty sure I had not, but who knows with me, nowadays? Hehe! So I took a photographicalisation of it. It’ll look different tonight or in the morning again. Ever-changing!
Up and back to the kitchen, and the view outside, although nowhere near as good as it would have been through the old windows, was marvellous. I tried to take a panoramic shot of the scene, without any luck. I fear that since the Stroke, I just cannot take a panoramic shot at all. Even when I think the fingers are not shaking, the camera does, the instant I try to pan with it. I can get over this with the still shots. I’m trying to train myself to use the left hand, which as you can understand, is not comfortable or sometimes possible, with a right-handed camera. (Grump, moan, complain!) Bottom-Lip-Out-Sulk-Mode engaged!
The shadow of the rising sun from behind was caught reasonably well in the first snap I took. The second one, I tried to get the balconies of the other fine folk’s flats in the frame, as well as the distant view.
I had a nosey at the leaflets that had been delivered from the Residents Association Team.
One about a two-course lunch, Liver & Onion, pudding & custard, £3, Friday 12th July.
The next one, Shopping Trips, one for Leeds – £20 a seat. Another for Grantham, Friday 19th July, £13 a ride.
Then one: Making Music Together, if you play a musical instrument, come along share your music! IIth July 13:00hrs. To be confirmed 8th August & 12 Sept, location to be confirmed.
And a leaflet with details of a helpline for the old & lonely. 24-hour contact number and some features of it.
And a letter from Nottingham City Homes, about a visit coming on 10th July, from a company called DCUK – Re: Bathroom Extract Cleaning. To check the airflow at the fan – Remove existing fan cover – clean ducting and install a new fire-rated vent cover.
The old heating cupboard and storage area is to be emptied and made easily accessible, and all items removed from this area. Huh! Have you seen it and the stuff crammed into it?
Ah, yes, I have to say that the desperately wanted, and much longed-for peace of mind and rest here the old people’s flats, and our growing senile without disturbance or hassle of any kind… is non-existent here!
Made the tea and back to the computer and created a couple of graphics for the Inchcock Today page tops and Thoughts theme.Three wee-wees, all now if the SSPWW (Short-Sharp-Painful-Wee-wee) variety.
Time to get the ablutions tended to. Then I can catch the 10:30hr L9 bus to Arnold. Oh, I’d better check the Googe calendar first to see if any appointments are down for today… No, all clear. I’ll call in to get some hearing aid batteries at the Arnold Health Centre.
I took three black and a recycling bag out with me to the chute, on the out.
I gathered all the needs, and was off to the wet room, stick in hand. All went well, and I was soon rushing to get out in time to catch the L9. I passed Riechsführeress and Catwalk Model Warden Deana talking to a lady, Good Morning’s were exchanged. At the bus stop, were the two Scottish lads from Winchester Court, and we had a chinwag and set the world to rights at the same time. Hehe!
I took a photographicalisation of Winchester Court, with the jet-streak contrails in the sky above. It came out alright, and I was pretty pleased with this left-handed shot.
We were joined at the last moment by a few other tenants from both flats.
It was a fine morning, the only thing that unsettled me a bit, was with me having the troller with me, I had to sit on the side-saddle seats. An uncomfortable and even painful experience, especially with the driver being heavy on the breaks. I offered my cheerios to each of the others who the others got off in Sherwood, one even acknowledged me. Haha!
I spent most of the journey, fighting to stay on the seat, struggling to hold on to the three-wheeler, or banging my elbow on the rails.
I found myself to be the only passenger on board after Sherwood. Plenty got on en route mind you.
Once I dropped off in Arnold, it looked and or, reminded me of Skegness or Mablethorpe, in the sunshine and with people wandering aimlessly about. Hehe!
I poddled slowly around, calling in endless shops. Wilko, to get the liquid soapflakes. Chambers meats, but the roast belly pork looked very fatty, so I didn’t invest.
Then to the Boyes store, where I got Dettol, citrus Zoflora, drain unblocker, can opener and some Bamboo socks!
Next to the Saher shop: Deo fab, air spray, olive oil and Colgate foaming toothpaste.
I called in Iceland then and got some Southern Fried chips (fries). Never tried these, they look like they might be tasty.
Finally, to Asda. I came out of there with far too much stuff, and had the devil of a job getting them in the trolley and shoulder bag, and had to buy another bag! I came out of Asda with Cheesy Curls (2 packs of six bags), fresh pod peas, DVDs and a Bag for Life!
Wilko, to Chambers', then Boyes...
Savers, then Iceland...
Asda, then the bus home... Ah!
Caught the L9 front High Street, and was soon home. No Winwood residents got on the bus en route. I dropped off, thanked the driver and made my way to Woodthorpe Court at the far end of Chestnut Way.
During the hobble, the strap on the shoulder bag broke! Humph!
The new lawn that was laid about three weeks ago, in front of the being built and finished off Windwood Court and Wardens detention cells, was, well, here are some photos of it… So sad!
Dearie me, good gracious me, and Pshaw! Worra Mess! I wonder who contracted the firm that made such a hodgepodge job of the new lawn? Nottingham City Homes, or Most likely Willmott Dixon?
Got in the flat, had a WYSAOWW (Weak-Yet-Spraying-All-Over-Wee-Wee), washed, and into the dressing gown. Got the dinner cooking.
Aldi’s Sopocka Slices and tomato sandwiches, gherkins, beetroots, garden peas and the new Southern Fried chips (fries). Which tasted smashing! Garlic in the seasoning I think. The Limoncello dessert was naughty but nice!
A Flavour Rating of 8.8/10! Got the evening medications were taken, a bottle of spring water with orange cordial added from the fridge, and settled down in the exasperating, c1968, Grotty-beige coloured, second-hand recliner to watch a Rumpole of the Bailey episode off of DVD. Fell asleep during the second set of advertisements. Fancy that!
Woke an hour later, had to have a wee-wee, this time of the LHBLWWs (Long Hosepipe-Blasting like Wee-wee) variety. Made myself jump! Hahaha!
Back in the recliner, and decided to watch TV… Fell asleep again!
Thursday 3rd July 2019: 0325hrs: Very unfortunate, unwelcome, silly, cataclysmal, detrimental, soul-destroying, pathetic, and typical of old Inchy nowadays. Wednesday 3rd July 2019
Bulgarian:Сряда, 3 юли 2019
04:00hrs. I woke late, it was light, getting up was a fight. (Free poetry thrown in there, folks, Hehe!) Knocked things off of the Ottoman, as I freed myself from the clutches of the c1968 second-hand, grotty-beige coloured, near-dilapidated, rickety recliner. The EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee Bucket) was utilised, for a messy WYSAOWW (Weak-Yet-Spraying-All-Over-Wee-Wee).
I had to sprint (Gawd, if ever I’ve used the wrong word, this is it! Hehehe!) to the wet room. As I settled on the Throne, the stick I’d rested against the wall, slipped down and the handle-part landed in my shin and slid down hitting me on toes. But it didn’t register with me entirely at the time. Cause the evacuation needed all my attention. Most reluctant again. Plenty of bleeding after it eventually got released, with a kerplonk! Much cleaning to be done. Thinking about it, I must have one of the most stubbed, trodden-on and ugly, big toes in England? Haha!
Vague.
The Morrison order arrived. A big one as well!
The chap had got in without ringing the intercom, so someone had let him in again. The NCH management has left posters and sent letters to each flat asking us not to admit anyone, but let the caller use the communication device and whoever they are visiting for any reason, can let them in. But with the man having on his uniform and the groceries with him, as with seeing a nurse, it is hard not to admit them. A problem this, cause one day someone is going to come in wearing a uniform of sorts and will be let in!
Well, this big lot means I will not need another delivery for next week. My having an order every two weeks, is working out well. As long as I can get out for bread, milk and fresh stuff in between. I’m not doing too bad at all, under the circumstances (The ailments). Ah, no, the ‘Too many Issues’ It sounds a lot posher! Hehe!
I spent many hours on CorelDraw doing graphics for later use on the blogs. Far too long! With the speed of typing and doing the artwork being handicapped by ‘Too many Issues’ and all the correcting work needed, it is hard work and time-consuming!
The meal was a bit special. A Flavour-Rating of a mammoth 9/10 was given for it. The mushrooms, done with Balsamic vinegar, the peas, the tomatoes were all great tasting. Yet the ham off-cuts and milk bread sarnies were the best of the lot. Gorgeous!
Settled down with a Rumpole of the Bailey to watch on TV. I took this photograph of the pins while sat sitting there.
The leg ulcer is trying to return again, I think. Some new blotches appearing on the ankle. But it seems to change each day, recently. Keeps the Hypochondriasis side going. Munchausen’s syndrome, I do not need. Hahaha!
4:05hrs. I woke, still feeling tired, but this was soon forgotten, when I realised the need for the Porcelain Throne was urgent, top-priority and as ineluctable, as it was! I got hold of the walking stick, and grudgingly freed my voluminous flobby-body from the clutches of the near-dilapidated, rickety, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, £300 second-hand, sometimes working, dangerous, but comfortable recliner. I was off to the wet room to satisfy my needs.
To my surprise, the brain had retained a modicum of cerebricity, for I remembered to take the stick with me, and to carefully avoid any toe-stubbing against the WC seat-riser’s metal legs!
The evacuation was a painful, unwilling effort again, and much blood flowed and needed cleaning up afterwards. Perhaps the INR level had gone up, at least I assumed it had, because Harold’s Haemorrhoids, were not the cause of the bleeding. After sorting out the cleansing of the room and myself, I took a wee-wee, and what a different type this time. A WYPSAOWW (Weak-Yet-Persistent-Spraying-All-Over-Wee-Wee). A new kind of variety this one! More cleaning up had to be done again! Tsk!
No sooner had got into the kitchen, and another wee-wee was needed.
I used the EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-Wee bucket). This time around, the action was of an RDDWW (Reluctant-Drip-Drip-Wee-Wee). Well, it saves me getting bored!
A wash and I took a photo out through the thick-framed, light & view blocking, multi-glass paned that can’t be reached for cleaning, and the step ladders are needed to view down below, in the event of a fire alarm activation that I can’t hear new windows anyway.
T’was a red sky on the horizon this morning.
I got on with the Health Checks and took the medications. The ageing sphygmomanometer I bought from Boots, the one that said ‘Made in India’ on the box, and ‘Made in China’ on the actual machine, worked at the third attempt. The results looked fine to me. Sys 147, Dia 73, Pulse 79 and the Temperature was 35.1°c.
Well, well, another wee-wee! And a different mode too. This one was of the SSDWW (Short-Sensationless-Dribbling-Wee-Wee) variety. At least there was no pain with it. Haha!
Oh dear! Back to the Porcelain Throne. (I decided on no going out today, to avoid any getting caught -short!) The same again this time, hard, painful work to free the reluctant mass!
As I started the computer, the Peripheral Neuropathy stimulated dancing and jumping began in the hands and shoulder! The timing was terrible, just as I was about to start on creating page headers in CorelDraw. By the time that I’d got one graphic done, and updated the Monday post and sent it off – about six-hours had passed! And a varied mixture of about six wee-wees had been taken!
As I went to make a brew, carefully though, the hand and shoulder that gave me so much hassle in doing the blog up, were still prancing about to their heart’s content! Grumph! Sorry-for-myself=mode adopted!
I had started to feel a bit weak or tired, just delicate, and the mind was becoming a little vague. This worried me.
When I noticed the insect bites, blood papsules, blotches, whatever they were, had increased on the lower arm?
I felt the need for yet another Porcelain Throne Visit arising. So off to the wet room, what still had the aroma lingering from the last visit. Hehe!
The Porcelain Throne alarm was a false one this time?
I must admit, when I was washing the dandies and looked in the mirror, it was not precisely a very encouraging sight to see. I seem to have gone all pale and blotchy in the face, again. I was unsure of whether or not, to call, phone or see the Doctor, or dial 111? Hehehe!
I continued with beginning this post, up to now, then went onto CorelDraw to do some more templates. But it was hard, slow and frustrating work with the dancing digits. After an hour or two, and three wee-wees, I needed another. I visited the wet room this time, so I could take a look at how the pallid face was going on. But I didn’t feel too bad in myself.
Ablutions were done, and I got ready to go out.
I spotted a couple walking their dogs in the bottom field. They went up and into the tree Copse, and a twinge of jealously irked me!
I wondered; I don’t suppose I’ll ever manage to be fit enough to have another beloved hobble through this tree copse, again? Sulk-Mode Adopted!
I took a photo, well, the nubilous sky demanded it.
I found myself doing some nephelococcygia (The act of seeking and finding shapes in clouds) for ages. I kept thinking I could make out a face in them, then losing it again.
A final wee-wee before I left to get the L9 bus down the hill to Sherwood. It turned out to be of the WYSAOWW (Weak-Yet-Spraying-All-Over-Wee-Wee), which needed some cleaning up afterwards.
12:30hrs: Off to the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Hauptbereitschaftsleiteress Warden’s Temporary HQ. Sarcasm & Insult distribution area. Tenants Socialisationistical Meeting Shed. Telling Inchcock off Zone. Where things like crockery and pottery get stolen from, Rumourmongering Clinic, and somewhere to rest while waiting for the bus, Portakabin.
As I got out of the lift, Jenny’s Frank arrived. And taking his photo, a half-decent one became a problem. The hands and fingers started dancing, and Frank wouldn’t stay still at first. Hehe!
Struggled to get a decent piccy, and he turned his back on me!
As he returned from the corridor work, the fingers were bad...
He finally settled in a lobby chair, and I got him! Hahaha!
We had a chinwag, and I hobbled out to the shed. Only a few folks inside, but plenty out at the bus stop. Who, after natter, I joined for a gossip and earwigging session. Joycie arrived. She was meeting up with her Sisters for a drinking and laugh, in Nottingham. I intended to go down on the Arnold bound bus to get some fresh garden peas and bread.
But, I got on the wrong bus! Hard to believe even for me, the number of times I’m doing this lately! So, no Sherwood. I got off on Woodborough Road and limped along to the Aldi store.
I came out with Soughdough baguettes, lemon mini-muffins, peas, some lemon yoghourts, vinegar and something I tried for the first time; Halloumi Fries. I’ll try these tonight, fingers crossed on what they taste like.
Paid at the tills, no shaking fingers, arms, leg or shoulder there today, unlike last Sunday’s palava and embarrassment! No involuntary external dancing at all today – and I hope that is the way it stays.
I walked along Woodthorpe Road, towards and down Woodthorpe Rise, and the L9 bus stop.
While waiting for the bus, one of the dangerous Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclists came by, and hit the trolley with her pedals as she passed me! Humph!
A lady I often talk with on the bus arrived, and we chatted. She got off two stops later, and I went down to the Winwood Heights Complex.
I walked to the flats with a lady tenant, and we had a laugh and natter as we did so.
In the flat, I was again in a weary state, so early as well? A wee-wee and I got the meal cooking. Taking care not to fall asleep while doing it. Ahem!
Well, what a feast I had! The Halloumi slices were wonderfully seasoned, the beef pasty great, along with the tomatoes, sliced potatoes, and garden peas. A lemon mini-muffin and jar of lemon yoghourts went down well, too. The overall flavour rating was 8.2/10.
A wee-wee, a wash and a change of togs to nightwear, which means I got some fresh PP’s on, and everything else off. Scary, I know, Sorry!
I found out I’d left the Brunswick smoked ham out of the fridge on Sunday, and had put it in the biscuit box, instead! Spit and bother, I hate myself at times!
The World Cup, Ladies Semi final, twixt England and the USA, began. After much-biased cursing, a penalty retracted by Var, Bookings, a penalty given wrongly by VAR, a late sending off by the Brazilian officials. (The Brazil that since 1970, where over 700,000 square kilometres (270,000 sq mi) of the Amazon rainforest have been destroyed. Just thought I’d mention it). No doubt about it though, the best team won – oh did I not mention it? America won 2-1.
Today, the other semi-final between the Netherlands and Sweden will take place. Then on Sunday, the final. I will transfer my support to the American’s now. Netherland (Amsterdam counts about 250 coffee-Drug-shops and most of them are located in the Red Light District. From psychedelic to hipster-ish but also from very local ones to more touristic places, each of Amsterdam coffeeshops has its own atmosphere. You will surely find one that suits you perfectly. They are not only to smoke weed. They are real social places where you can easily meet people and spend some good times with friends. Watching TV, playing chess or card games and much more can be done here. And always in a very relaxing way) will play Sweden (They have an outright, zero-tolerance policy ban on the possession, sale, transport, and cultivation of cannabis, including for medical use). Given that Britain had been unable to prevent the successful invasion by Nazi Germany of both France and Norway, the Swedish government was not convinced that the British could protect them and opted to continue exports. The iron ore provided much needed gold bullion, food and coal from Germany.
So, there you are, Druggies v Abstainers in the semi-final of the world cup. I’ve no idea what this means, and little interest in the match, either. But whichever team wins, I just want them to lose against America. Bias? Me? Yes!
Yet another little sleep night. Again I tried all the tips from the stroke ward hospital. Put a hat on to hide the light. Think of happier times, (well I spent hours trying to find one! Hehe!). Breathing deeply. Avoided nicotine. Do exercises, I did! Turn the heating off, it was already off! Very late on, when I eventually nodded off.
Hence, I didn’t get up until around 03:30hrs, and could not get back to kip again… Schmuck! Life, is becoming of a little less value, nowadays. Haha!
05:00hrs. I sort of sprang awake this morning, originally somewhat antipathetic at the idea of getting out of the £300. c1968, gungy-beige, rickety recliner. I soon realised that a few surprises were in store for me! Firstly, I saw how light and what the time was. Worked out that I’d just had seven hours kip. A rarity nowadays! Recognised the signs from the innards that I needed a wee-wee and to use the Porcelain Throne.
I rose gingerly, but no longer reluctantly from the quaintly antiquated recliner, got the stick and utilised the hardly used EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-Wee bucket). The RWPSWW (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying-Wee-Wee) that followed took some stopping of the flow, well, trickle!
Then off to the wet room, and settled on the Porcelain Throne. The evacuation was about as painful as the wee-wee, was, but less so, than of late. Some bleeding took place.
The black spots or papsules under the left little toenail were increasing in size?
The brain slowly began to operate in an imitation, semi-logical mode. (You’ll find this belated thought process activity as you get older, so be prepared, folks!)
Some new bruises had appeared. One on the left arm and one on the lower right arm. Trying to recall what caused them, defeated me. It’s unfathomable; No tumbles or fall had, no bags or knocks as far as I know or can remember.
I rinsed the hand washing and hung it to dry.
When I got the medications out, it dawned on me, how few there are to take nowadays.
I’m slowly getting used to this but still have the feeling occasionally, that something is missing. Hehe! I did take another Senna, to soften things up a bit, and try to avoid the bleeding from the rear end evacuations.
The sun seemed reluctant to put in an appearance this morning. But it did later on in the day/.
The INR nurse, the beautiful Polish gal, is calling today between 09:00 > 11:00hrs to take my blood sample. A sweet-natured helpful gal. I must remember to give her the Brunswick ham I got for her from Aldi yesterday, and the lemon wafers, to thank her for the assistance she has given me.
I got the computer on and made a start on this blog. Then began to update the Sunday Diary. I must remember to stop at 07:30hrs, to get the ablutions done and ready things for the nurses visit. I remembered too! Shame cause the hands etc. were being very good to me, and I had to stop typing. Oy Vey!
The ablutions went very well this morning. I took my time and was careful. All I got was a little cut shaving. No bleeding from Litte Inchy, the teeth/gums or Haemorrhoid Harold. A slightly puffed-up ‘Vainglory-Mode’ Adopted
Some more papsules, or whatever they are, had come up on the leg and feet. Another Flat 72 Mystery! Haha!
Oh, and yet another mystery, not so rare by any means, but I can only find one of the pair of long Balsa Socks. No, I got that wrong as well, Bamboo Socks! So I donned the shorter pair that I’d bought from Amazon.
Another Porcelain Throne evacuation was needed after I had just got dressed and was walking out of the wet room. Tsk! Back in the shower room again, and found that the Senna was still not being very productive! Humph! Still, the stink left behind was not as putrid as it has been. Haha!
I made a brew of tea and got back on updating this post. And the damned peripheral neuropathy inspired shaking and dancing began in earnest! The shoulder seemed much more affected than usual, the others, fingers, hands, legs and feet were in the normal: Knock-And-Annoy-Inchcock-Mode! The‘Vainglory-Mode’ of earlier, changed to a sort of ‘Soddit-I’m-pissed-off-Mode! Hehe!
09:25hrs: While waiting for the nurse to arrive, I went on to update the TFZer Facebook photos.
The lady arrived, and we mad a quick chinwag as she took the blood for me. I saw her off and carried on with the TFZing for an hour or two. A long job catching up, but the fingers were easing off.
I should have got some graphics tops done, but the energy faded quickly for some reason. I don’t understand why, after all, I’d got up late for me, and had a decent sleep last night for a change?
I checked that I had put the Stroke appointment on the Google Calendar. I’ve to go to:
C-SKR2C Stroke Medicine, and see Dr S K Ragunathan, Outpatient Department, North Corridor. N5. Nottingham City Hospital. On Tuesday, 20th August 2019 at 11:15hrs. They need me to take with me: This letter. All glasses (Spectacles), and hearing aids. A list of all medications and dosages. And an up to date Mobile phone number. And, gave me an email address I must visit: WWW.nuh.nhs.uk/8-steps-to-safety/ Well, I had a look at it. And I got this:
Ah-well! It’s not unusual, as Tom Jones sang.
I set about getting some fodder sorted. A haddock in batter then added the fish cakes fifteen-minutes later, and another quarter an hour after I put in the sourdough baguette. Hope it turns out alright. I’m fading fast here, so tired and weary. Also puzzled as to why?
Getting the tray and meal served up, I was pleased with how it looked and took a photographicalisation of it.
Picking up the tray to put on the server-trolley, I managed to drop a fish finger and a fish cake, along with the cutlery, when the shakes came on. Saving a lot of it from falling as I caught the tray, I got food all over myself and the floor in the process. Some of it was hot! Tsk! It had got coldish by the time I dished the dropped fodder, and cleaned things and myself up and was ready to eat the meal. A disappointment, I’m sure it would have been close to a record Flavour Rating if it had still hot when I consumed it.
Still, it saved me eating so much. Giggle! A rating of 7.4/10 was given for it. I think I missed a treat here; damned peripheral neurosis! No, I meant neuropathy. Although looking up neurosis in the morning: (abnormality, hang-up, mental derangement, mental instability), I might have been right in the first place! Hehehe!
I started to watch some TV and was amazed when I lasted over an hour before nodding off. As I woke up, I was not sure if the door chimes had woken me up, that would be something. Or if I had just woken up while the chimes were ringing. Getting up I stubbed the little toe on the left foot, got the stick and hobble to open the door.
Realising too late, that I only had on a pair of socks! It was Josie, bless her.
She can’t grasp the idea of my going to bed early, and getting up early routine, yet. (As indeed, I can’t get used to Josies staying up late and sleeping in late either!) I hid behind the door and opened it just a few inches. Bless her, she had bought some potatoes and a pack of tomatoes for me. I red-facedly thanked her, profusley. Oh dearie me!
As I got back, I got the socks off and dived into the old recliner, but no sleep came. The humiliation of my opening the door almost in the raw bothered me. Then I noticed the legs had gone all warped and looked like they do sometimes when Arthur Itis or Colin Cramps are rampant. But, neither were giving me any bother at the time?
I found this photo on the card in the morning. And it was a mystery to me. What is was of though? Well, the arm, yes. I don’t think I intended to take this one! After a little studying of the picture, I think the left side is the leg, and right the arm?
If nothing else, the Axonotmesis, and Wee-weeing are giving me some variety in life! Haha! For the next wee-wee was of a far different mode again. It was an SSPWW (Short-Sharp-Painful-Wee-wee).
The sweet Morphius inspired sleep still refused to come. Another disturbed sleep and lack of ability to nod-off! I tried the TV, but the brain doggedly resisted sleeping, as it usually would have done? So, I got the book to read. But again, no drooping eyelids, despite my feeling so drained. Peeing me-off this was! I had a go at the crossword book, but a total lack of concentration soon made me give that up. Now getting ridiculously late, I went back to viewing the TV… at last, I drifted off into blessed, heaven-sent sleep! No idea what time it was, but it was well into the morning… However, I managed three hours restful slumber, before waking in urgent need for the Porcelain Throne! Humph!
02:00hrs: I didn’t precisely wake-up, cause I’d been snuggled up in the second-hand, £300, c1968, near-dilapidated, rickety, rattling, faded-gungy-beige coloured, sometimes working, uncomfortable recliner, for hours! Trying to get to sleep, finally giving up trying. I needed a wee-wee anyway.
I got stood up, grabbed the walking stick, and took the few paces to the EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee Bucket), and had a UWTWW (Unwilling-Weak-Trickling-Wee-Wee). Like the previous three I’d taken over the sleepless night, the evacuation was accompanied with an obnoxious, industrial-strength effluvium, and the colouring was of an odd, almost banana shade of yellow, and a smidge cloudy. I had to take the bucket to the wet room, to sanitise it and get rid of the odour. I had a spray around with the air-freshener as well!
I was coming out of the wet room and had to return for another wee-wee. This time, a right sharp one, of the VSHLP (Very-Short-Hosepipe-Like-Painful) mode. I wasn’t expecting one of these and could not help but spray the WC, floor, cabinet, wall and myself. I got caught in the splash-back! I felt a right jobbernowle! I had to spend a long time cleaning things up afterwards, accompanied by some muttering and naughty cursing under my breath! Haha! I think it must be another urine infection. These things always seem to come on at the weekend, when no help is available! I only finished a course of antibiotics the week before last as well. Tsk! Ah, well!
I started doing the updating of the Saturday post. During which, yet two more, different wee-wees had to be taken. These ones were both of the LSPWWW (Long Slow Painful Weak Wee-wee) variety. They say that a change is as good as a rest… The nincompoops and schmucks!
I got the kettle on and did the hand-washing, only a t-shirt and a pair of socks.
I suddenly had to go to utilise the Porcelain Throne. I only just made it in time. I anticipated the usual ‘sit-there-and-do-the-crossword-book’; while going through the pain and effort to encourage things along. But not this time – there was a lot of it, but it flowed of its own accord, leaving a similar industrial-strength effluvium, that filled the room and my lungs! Yet again, I had to spray around some air-freshener and disinfect things! (A good job I got the citrus spray and Dettol lavender antiseptic in bulk while they were on offer) Whatever this ailment/infection is, it seems to be affecting my front and rear exits, and I suppose, the innards? Still, the differing wee-wee varieties are unusual. Haha!
I washed up again and went to make the brew and take the medications. Oh, dear, I could not find the medication blister pack currently in use. I didn’t panic, but I fretted a little. I could see the other three weeks packs in the drawer, and remembered (vaguely) that last night I thought I’d keep the current one separate, so as not to get confused. (Of course, the thought of me not getting confused, was ludicrousness and nonsensicalness in the extreme!) I went through all of the drawers, cabinets, checked in the junk room, and shower room without any success.
Now panic was brewing up! I tried to calm down and leave things and try looking later, but this was not easy. I decided to take some pictures of the red sky, from the unwanted new kitchen light & view-blocking windows, with the glass it is impossible to reach to clean. I made four efforts, all using a different setting, so I could learn the difference between them. But they all look the same to me?
Unknown: Erm...?
Running: Erm...?
Auto: Erm...?
As I was leaving the kitchen, Aha! I spotted the partly used medication blister pack currently in use! I must have decided, although I do know why, to store them on top of the tea bags, and they had fallen down between the cooker and cupboard.
Well, I never! I took the medications and made the mug of tea. I forgot to do the health checks! Guilt-Mode Adopted!
Finally, after I don’t know how many hours, I got around to finishing off the updating of yesterday’s blog. Only the arm and shoulders seemed interested in doing much Axonotmesis inspired dancing about. The hands and fingers only gave me the odd spot of frustration, so I got the Inchcock Today finished quicker than usual. Smug-Mode-Adopted!
I had to make some page top graphics and Inchcock Thoughts up, and get a few advance templates made up. So I went on CorelDraw and Google to use and adapt any suitable pictures to use. Well, that took a long time as well. However, the fingers are still not acting too wicked. So, I’ll leave the ablutions for a while and get the templates done… Oh, not yet, I’m off to the Porcelain Throne again… Same again, evacuation-wise!
Computer off. Got the ablutions tended to, only one little nick with minimal bleeding, in the shaving department. Dressed and refreshed, I made up four bags for the waste chute, and took the waste disposal unit; calling on Josie en route and on the way back. No answers, though. Not too worried, cause it’s early for her to be up yet. I only wanted to know if she needed anything from Aldi getting. A night gal, she is!
Down with the three-wheel trolley and shoulder bag. Had a few words with Mary, who was in the laundry room. Gawd, it looks well shabby in there today. Out and along Chestnut Way, the strength of the wind caught me out, blimus, it was strong, but warm with it. I took some photographs as I hobbled along.
Could it be that the wind had moved the bricks? Hehe!
Rubbish strewn car parking spaces!
Mess outside the Winwood Court.
What might be a crossing for the Winwood Court residents has blocks on to stop it being used.
You can't see the carnage, but its there, in front of the block.
Street Art on the Chestnut Way, bench!
Pavement Cyclist on Winchester Street.
Nice wider view towards Sherwood, down the hill.
6 / 8
I somehow got up the third steepest hill, in a reasonable time, and took this semi-dramatic photo of the changing sky, at the corner of Woodborough Road and Sherwood Rise.
Even windier up at the top, but still really warm with it.
I hobbled on to the Lidl…, no, Aldi store, to find out I had got there too early, and it was not open yet.
En route, a naughty Nottinghamian Pavement cyclist shot by me, and as I got the camera out to snap the dangerous ignoramus chap, a female Nottinghamian Pavement cyclist was coming from the other direction.
More Nottinghamian cyclist as I walked to Porchester Road junction lights, and crossed over the road, but the damned camera was telling me the battery needed charging, and I missed the opportunity as they shot away out of view. Tsk!
I took an across the road picture of Bennett Street, I think it was. This show how England’s old narrow streets look, for my foreign cyber friends.
I doubled back toward the Aldi store, passing some shops on Woodborough Road. A new Chinese takeaway and eat-in, is opening in unfortunate old bankrupt Toney’s takeaway and eat-in, Caribbean Bistro. I think he has opened a shop in another location in Nottingham, but I’m not sure. Anyway, three shops down the road is another Chinese takeaway! How can they expect it to pay?
I got into the shop, and almost immediately, the flipping shakes in the hand, arm and shoulder jumping kicked off. I was getting some extremely odd looks. I saw the pod peas on the top shelf of the fridge, but would dare to try and reach them with the jerky arm, and ask a chap if he’d please to pass me a pack of peas down. He was alright about it and handed one to me. I got the sourdough baguettes in the basket. Then some tomatoes. I went to the fridge where the Brunswick Smoked Ham is kept, and the hand really had a session with me. I dropped the packets I was trying to get a hold of, then I let the basket! I was not very popular with the nearby shoppers. One lady helped me pick up the goods and put them in the shopping bag. I couldn’t thank her as she was off like a shot, looking a bit wary of me, after assisting me.
Things calmed down ailment-wise then. I got a pack of crispy smoked bacon and saw some excellent value smoked ham offcuts, that looked really tasty, and I weakened and got a packet. Bin bags next, and finally a box of two cream doughnuts. I can share them with Josie later. I got to the long queue at the checkout.
When it got to my turn, the dancing started just as I was packing the things away – I was so disconcerted! Dropped the cream cake box, cooked ham and bacon on the floor, then the should bag slipped down an joined them. I was struggling to get down and retrieve them, and the bloke on the till was waiting to be paid… a chap waiting behind for his turn, (it turned out to be the one who’d passed me the pod peas earlier), came forward and collected all the stuff up for me and packed it as well! I thanked him profusely, and red-facedly. Paid the bill and, I assumed, moved away to gather myself for a moment or two. The dancing and jumping had stopped, but not the embarrassment of the situation. The discomposure and uneasiness faded a bit when I got outside, but the edginess and flusterment remained with me for a good while.
Thankfully, no more jerking or dancing incidents took place before I got home.
As I got to The Wells Road, I noticed that all the cars waiting to join the main Woodborough Road looked the same basic shape to me? Why I saw this, I don’t know, but it was a sign that I was getting over the Peripheral Neuropathy attack; if that’s the right wording?
As I began walking down Sherwood Rise, or should that be Mapperley Rise? I’ll check… I went on Google Maps; It should be Mapperley Rise.
I photographed a thing of beauty, one of ugliness, and another bit of nature and beauty, on the verge and hedging. Bless her!
Bootiful!
Disgusting!
Bootiful!
We parted at the home she lives in, and I pressed on to the apartments.
The mobile rang, but it stopped by the time I’d got it out to answer it.
I’ve just noticed I had missed off a picture, that I took on Mapperley Rise. Across the road was the collapsed garage, with the embankment behind it, having collapsed. I think they had replaced the old signage with new. So maybe it will soon get mended?
The wind had played more havoc on Chestnut Way. Some fencing was blown down, and more than sufficient rubbish had blown into the Woodthorpe Court frontage.
U in the elevator, and called at Josies flat and rang the bells. No answer again. Now I was beginning to worry about her again.
Into my flat and I had a wee-wee first job. A UWTWW (Unwilling-Weak-Trickling-Wee-Wee) mode. Of which the many following ones I had to have, were, all the same.
I got the nosh purchased, in the fridge. Went for another wee-wee, as the doorbell chimes rang out. I hastened to the door, and I’m glad to report that it was Jocie! She returned the meal stuff all washed up to me. Josie mentioned how she had enjoyed the meal, and almost took a photo of it. Chest-Swelling-Mode-Adopted! I gave her the fresh cream doughnut, and she licked her lips, and she told me she was going to make a cup of coffee and eat the cake now! Slightly Bigger-Chest-Swelling-Mode-Adopted! Hahaha! I wished all the bestest and asked her to take care.
I then got on with updating this blog and getting the photographs organised. (In between the wee-wees!) I was well-pleased with the fingers and hands etc. not being bad at all now! I looked up if there was another wording of Peripheral Neuropathy, and found this little gem of a question and answer on Google:
Q: Can you die from peripheral neuropathy?
A: If the underlying cause of peripheral neuropathy isn’t treated, you may be at risk of developing potentially serious complications, such as a foot ulcer that becomes infected. This can lead to gangrene (tissue death) if untreated, and in severe cases, may mean the affected foot has to be amputated. Any breaking of bones, may not be recognised my the nerves. If not treated immediatley, this can be fatal.
So, how come they told me the Mary Potter Leg Ulcer Clinic, that nothing could be done about. Ah, that may have been for the Axonotmesis they also diagnosed? Sorry, I spoke (typed). Hehe!
Sister Jane phoned on the landline. Brother-in-Law Pete was walking to the paper shop this morning and came across a car parked up with the driver slumped over the steering wheel. (It all happens to our family dunnit?) He could not get the fellows attention, so phoned the police. Who attended within two minutes. (Obviously not Nottingham Police then!) The line kept fading and going crackly, so I missed some bits of the story.
Got the fodder on. Going to have some potatoes, the last of the Mini-Rostis, and some tomato and ham milk roll sarnies. Yum-yum!
I fell to sleep for a short while but luckily woke before any rostis or potatoes were burnt.
I got it served up, in fact, a little too much of it. The eyes were bigger than the stomach again! Huh!
I saved a sandwich in a food bag for later. Cunning eh?
The flavour rating of this not particularly appealing looking meal was 7.5/10, and worthy of it.
I put the TV on, and soon began the nodding off, in the £300, c1968, grotty-beige recliner. I kept repeatedly waking and drifting off for hours. When the kip came adequately, it was deep, undisturbed, and a long one!
04:15hrs: I woke, passed a little wind, coughed a lot, knocked the TV remote control off of the arm of the near-dilapidated, rickety, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, second-hand, £300, sometimes working, uncomfortable recliner arm.
When I rose gingerly and got on my feet to pick up the offending black plastic covered controller, the pain from the feet had significantly decreased, and a little joyous moment was enjoyed, as I realised what good my seeing and being tended to by Podiatrist Kirsty had done for me yesterday at the Health Centre!
However, and unfortunately, as I leaned on the stick and bent down, Back-Pain Brenda kicked off with some shockingly sharp stabbing pains! I almost fell off of the end of the walking stick with the shock-like shooting pains! The brain then began on one of its meandering usually pointless, in-depth thought analysationing sessions. How come, Arthur Itis, Reflux Roger, Dizzy Dennis, Duodenal Donald, Anne Gyna Prostrate Pete, and even Back-Pain-Brenda, have all been so kind to me since the Stroke? Fair enough, the Axonotmesis and Peripheral Neuralgia dancing and shaking have gotten far worse… and why should Brenda set-off so suddenly and badly again? Does the body control pain more than I thought? Has it somehow ignored some ailments after the stay in the hospital ward? Why? How? My questions were beyond my own understanding and made no sense, let alone the struggle for answers and recognition of the problems.
I found myself automatically using the EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-Wee bucket) having a UWTWW (Unwilling-Weak-Trickling-Wee-Wee). And still, the brain was struggling with itself! After a good while of misleading and confusing myself, the need for the Porcelain Throne may well have helped me avoid going potty, I think! Off to the wet room, stick in hand. No Axonotmesis-inspired dancing or shaking from anywhere this morning! (Yet!) But, I was glad I had the sense to take the walking stick with me just in case, a sort of justificatory, safety-first thing.
I took a photo of the foot, and show it above, with yesterdays picture before the nail-cutting was done. Looking better, I think. Hence the previous agony just turns to pain. Hahaha!
The khaki concrete-like resistant evacuation was painful again, but no blood. What things would be like without the Senna tablets I dread to think!
I got the hand-washing done, only the usual t-shirt and a pair of socks. I moved yesterday’s clothes to the airer for drying. No dancing or quivering from any body-parts!
Imbibed the medications, did the health checks then I made a brew of tea. The sphygmomanometer worked the first time, with impressive results: Sys 150, Dia 76, Pulse 89, and temperature at 34.8°c.
Taking a picture from the unwanted, unliked, hard-work new kitchen windows. The morning was not cold.
Then I got on with sorting the pod peas. Shelling them and getting them in the saucepan with water and a little demerara sugar. Ready for cooking later on with the cheesy potatoes for Josie’s and my noshes.
A bit of bother when the fingers started playing up Peripheral Neuralgia wise. Peas flew about all over the place, some have never been found! Two were rescued from underneath the cooker, one behind the door, several on the floor in different places, ad in the rubbish bin, one in the dressing gown pocket. Two were found later in the sink on the other side of the kitchen! I work out that up to ten more are hiding somewhere, awaiting discovery and recovery. I even lost a couple of empty pods? Tsk!
I got the computer booted up, and began on updating the Friday post. The fingers were not too bad, so it was completed quicker than it has been of late. Which made it harder to accept, when as I was finishing off and posing the blog, the Peripheral Neuropathy inspired dancing and jumping started off in the fingers, hands, arm, and shoulder. I can’t remember having all of them together at the same time before and felt the EQ telling me that this is the future for me, so learn to cope with it! Which means eventually I suppose, an and to my blogging as things get worserer. Hey-ho! Sulky-Mode-Engaged!
I made another mug of tea and pressed on. But it was really heavy work, and I got a little discouraged at times.
I got the potatoes cleaned and in the oven baking. Had another couple of UWTWW’s (Unwilling-Weak-Trickling-Wee-Wees), just to keep my eye in. Haha!
I popped out on the balcony, with the finger trapping closure, one that works one that is too stiff to open at all, the unreachable glass that needs cleaning and gaps in the panes of glass, and took two photographs. One of the view up Chestnut Way; showing free car parking spaces, which was a surprising rarity! The second one, a zoomed in shot of someone’s balcony, with some beautiful flower arrangements, one I think is on a bonnet. Very appealing and decorative. I would think this flat does not have a bloke on his own living in it! Hehehe!
Then back to starting this post going and updating it.
Got Josie’s nosh prepped and taken to her flat. She was looking better today, I’m glad to say.
Got mine finished off. Beef pasty, podded peas, pickled eggs, gherkin slices, tomatoes, and some cheesy potatoes.
A flavour rating of 8.2/10 given this one.
The body and mind gave up after I’d eaten it all and done the pots.
The wee-wees were coming far less often now. Which pleased me, cause I’m not too keen on these UWTWW’s (Unwilling-Weak-Trickling-Wee-Wees).
I made a brew and took this picture from the unwanted and feared new kitchen window.
I settled to watch the Italy v Netherlands Ladies World Cup game on the goggle-box.
It seemed to me the Italians were uninterested in winning. Thought they had no chance. Or had been back-handed to lose the game. Take your pick! Hehe!
Watching the Germany v Sweden match, later on, Sweden deserved to win. The semi-final of Netherlands v Sweden could be an exiting one. The other semi, England v America, will split my emotions.
I got the hand-washing done.
As I stripped off to get my head down, I spotted what I thought was a piece of black sock on the left foot little toe. I struggled to get to remove it and had a losing battle. So I used the picker-upper stick and tried that…
It soon dawned on my confused, underachieving, rudimentary, reluctant brain, that it was not wool or bamboo bits, but a blood clot, gathering or papsule. Bottom of the little toe, underneath the tiny nail. Not more trouble coming, I hoped!
Sleep; or I mean getting to sleep, was more of a problem than ever tonight. Unless I dreamt it, and I don’t think I did; I kept nodding off, and dreaming, then jumping awake again! But there didn’t seem time to have had a dream, for it appeared I was dropping off to kip for only a couple of minutes at a time? Taking ages to get off again, then having another dream… this repeated for I don’t know how long. But it felt like hours!
I had to rise from the £300, c1968 recliner for a wee-wee. Unfortunately another UWTWW (Unwilling-Weak-Trickling-Wee-Wee).
The dreaming and actual act of wee-weeing were no longer my main concern. After the wee-wee had been taken, boy, there was a right pestilential odour in the air! So foul, and took the grey bucket to the wet room and sanitised it, before returning it to the side of the Ottman, then tried once more to get to sleep. I would have had more chance of winning the Lottery, and I don’t buy a ticket! Hahaha!
04:00hrs. I woke and got out of the £300 second-hand, gungy-beige, tatty, c1968, sometimes operating, rickety recliner. Stood up and walked without any stick, to the EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-Wee Bucket), had an RWPSWW (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying-Wee-Wee), then thought I needed to use the Porcelain Throne, which I did need. But no sooner had I settled on the Throne, I realised that this was to be failed session! I got the clue from the solid-mass within, just not moving, and the pain from the effort to encourage it too! Haha! I gave up, got the feeling that much blood would be lost it I tried any harder, and a lot of time would be spent just sitting and waiting.
So, I decided to take some Senna tablets with the new medications later, that Deepak had delivered, all potted-up for me last night. Conveniently at a time that was an hour beyond the getting-my-head-down-time!
I had another RWPSWW (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying-Wee-Wee). Not the easiest of wee-wees!
Then got the hand-washing done. Just a t-shirt and a pair of bamboo socks. I got them washed, rinsed, and drying on the hanger and airer.
I spotted the ever-growing white patch on the front f the shirt near the bottom. Another Woodthorpe Court Flat 72 mystery!
Come think of it, I suppose it is where I spilt some bleach on it?
The water was slowly draining away again. Not as bad as the wet room sink, though. That is really slow, despite my buying and using the drain unblocker every day for weeks!
Then I tended to the health checks. Sys 155, Dia 55, Pulse 95, and Temperature at 35°c.
I used the first of the newly delivered compartmentalised medications. I must remember in future to add Senna and Warfarin at night.
Then another visit, with some trepidation, to the Porcelain Throne. This time the evacuation started. Got stuck half-way, and after some agonising encouragement, the movement was completed! Oy Vey!
I could see the lights around the Sherwood Health Centre, where I was due to go for the Podiatrist visit later on. I took a snap of it from the unwanted, light & view-blocking, too many panes of glass to clean, can’t see below due to the wide outer ledge, kitchen window.
I got the computer on and did a graphic for the page top and Thought of the day, on CorelDraw.
Then started to update the Thursday Diary. I was well-pleased with fingers, hand, arm, and shoulder’s lack of dancing about. But aware this could and probably would change later. (Unfortunately, I was right!) A lot to get through, but I’d mate some notes last night as a reminder, and they were invaluable to me.
Time to tackle the ablutions. So put the computer in sleep mode, and set about getting things ready.
No sooner had I done the teggies and put the shaving cream on the face; the damned hand, fingers, shoulder and arm started doing their involuntary Hokey-Cokey come corroboree dancing routine! At one stage, I had to stop and just wait for things to settle down. Luckily a few minutes later, it was just the fingers that were jumping about. I dropped the razors twice, facecloth once and the soap three times. I even let the flipping drain unblocker bottle slip when I had to use it again! Most agrannoying, Phwert!
The toenails were looking almost, erm, what’s the word I was going to use? Ah, well, another attributive and predicative adjective lost in the ether. I think!
After some hurry-scurrying about, readying things for the trip to the Health Centre and trying to make sure that things were not forgotten to take etc. I departed. Knocking on Josie’s door as I left, no answer. Took two bags to the waste chute, and out on the mini-walk to the podiatrist.
The three-wheel-trolley guide was taken with me. On the walk up the gravel hill into Woodthorpe Grange Park, I sadly realised that I could not have a walk through the tree copse. However, I stopped and carefully took a few short paces under the overhanging trees at the side of the walkway. An almost petrichor aroma lingered, and I enjoyed the few minutes under the trees.
Up onto the footpath in the Grange, I saw that a fair of some sort was getting readied on the bottom football field. I hope that the fights and vandalism of Woodthorpe Court that took place last year, are not repeated again. The Security men and police must think the same thing. As far as I know, no one was arrested or charged. The young yobboes were under age apparently they tell me.
I took this photo and then turned left down the short pathway, that comes out onto the Rise.
I gingerly plodded down the hill and right to the end of Elmswood Gardens. This three-wheeler is not keen on going downhill. Haha!
Shame about the steps on the corner. I could not manoeuvre my way up them, so I went up and right into the Health Centre.
The young lady in the reception was charming and had a sense of humour. I showed her my paperwork and asked her where the podiatry dept was. She pointed out a sign for the podiatry sign that was behind me. I said; “Ah, that’s a good clue!” She smiled, and I went and took a seat in the waiting area. A chap came and sat opposite me. I gave him an acknowledging smile, said, “Good morning!” to him. In return, I got an up and down look and a sneer. But he may have been hard of hearing, so no offence was taken.
A rather pleasing to the eye, lady fetched me into her treatment room. She went through my history and asked a few questions of me. She was soon getting me on the coach and testing the toes reactions. The result was not good, but she then got the nails clipped for me, while, I am glad to say, having a natter. She told me the toe-cutting lady can be booked every eight or ten weeks. Then saw me out and I went to the reception and asked if it was possible for her to book me an appointment for eight weeks time. She tried for me, but they can only do six weeks in advance. So suggested I call in when passing, and make an appointment then, in a couple of weeks. She said she would phone for me then. Very kind of her. I thanked her and made my way up Elmswood Gardens, towards Mansfield Road to catch the bus.
On the way, I stopped to take a photograph of a white flower and some buds. I’ve no idea what it was, but it looked so beautiful! I had to be patient and wait for the wind to stop long enough for me to take the shot.
Which hand to be done with the left hand, as the right one was doing its dancing again.
As I started to grab the trolley to walk on, I spotted this whatever it is, that had firmly attached itself to a succulent leaf. Again, I had to be calm and wait for the wind to cease for a little.
As I started off again, I realised I was getting some gobsmacked looks from two blokes behind me. One said (I think), “Was it worth it?” I’m not sure what he meant? But he didn’t look in a very good mood?
I made my way to the bus stop on Mansfield Road and found a fellow tenant and wonderfully pleasant, Doris sat in the shelter. We had a super-duper gossip, and we nearly missed the bus! The driver recognised us and stopped! Haha! That could have been a right disaster!
I walked down Chestnut Way with Doris, we were still nattering. When we got to the foyer doors, she pointed out some newly laid grass, that had been destroyed by a lorry backing up onto it, she said.
We got into the lift, and on the fifth floor, I nearly forgot to hand Doris her bag I was carrying for her from the bus. And she missed her level! I did feel the right Klutz! But she was alright with me. Shame-Mode-Adopted! She had come up with me, and go down again to her floor! Tsk!
I called to see Josie on the way in the apartment, and she answered. And was looking far better than the other day. Yee-Haa! I checked if she would still like a meal tomorrow, and she said yes. I asked what time she fancied it. She was going out later, so asked for 12:00hrs. No problem I said, and after a little chat, I got in the flat.
I had a wee. Then took a photo of the damaged turf from the unwanted new balcony, out and down and to the right. The new car park was in full use.
The metal spring release grip, on the degree-needing, to operate, new unwanted balcony end window, that requires pushing and pulling at the same time, defeated me! I could not manage to get it open! But at least I avoided any injuries this time.
To get the picture of the lawn below, I had to open one of the finger-trapping other windows, and hang out and to the right; during which the walking-stick slid from where it was rested in the corner, and came down smack-on the poor old much stubbed right toe! I said to myself under my breath, “Well, fancy that!”
I began computerisationalisticalisationing again for a couple of hours. Took the medications, got the nosh served up and eaten, (A flavour rating of 6/10) and readied myself to watch the France v USA soccer match.
I fell asleep. Waking up for the end of the match! Huh! But at least America won, now England they face England, on Tuesday 2nd July. I will have to try not to support the USA team, this time. The fact that they won, I believe was down to me reporting of the situation with the crooked avaricious FIFA shower of pocket-lining leaders, who cheated big-time to let France win the World Cup against Croatia, and got away with it, that I wrote yesterday! Hahaha!
I felt a bit of life returning uninvited, and any more sleep was not an option at this time.
So I got the hand-washing done, rinsed, rang-out and hung to dry. A bit like I felt, really. Hehehe!
Amazingly, I found I needed another visit to the Porcelain Throne. Two a day now for a Thursday and today I reckon. This is rare for me. As was this session. The usual hard and bloody effort, and change in colouration to a sort of khaki?
I was feeling like something to pick-me-up nibble-wise. So got one of the Asda cheap iced lollies from the freezer. The stick in the lolly having been frozen out of position, although not earth-shattering, still made me smile.
I suffered a bad mind-wandering-pestering session as I tried to get back to sleep. I calculated that dozens of fears, worries, concerns and things to over, fleeted through the grey-cells. I even got agitated over how to do Josie’s Cheesy potatoes in the morning? Not that it bothered me much, just confused me as to why?
02:00hrs. I woke with the mind filled with, what’s the most suitable word? Dread, I think! Fear of the long haul to town on the £2.30 bus trip and slog through town and up the fearsomely steep Standard Hill to the Audio Clinic, I think. Ah well! The note I’d left to remind me on the TV screen helped!
I was soon out of the £300, second-hand, c1968, grotty-beige, rickety-recliner. Intent on getting the updating done to the diary before having to go out. The thought of the medications being delivered while I was not in, with my only having one beta-blocker tablet left! Meaning I will have to go to the doctors after the Audio Clinic, to find out what’s what. This didn’t help me get much peace of mind.
I got the hand-washing done, just a t-shirt and a pair of bamboo socks. Took the medications, did the health checks, and made a brew.
Straight on with the updating. The axonotmesis-driven electricityfied-dancing in the fingers, hands, arm, and shoulder, were not too bad first thing, Phew! So progress was reasonable this time with the blog. I got the job done and posted.
Made a start on this blog (between wee-weeing). Checked the bus times on Google, then got the ablutions tended to, as it was now gone 06:00hrs! All done and dusted, cutlessly, too!
I made up two waste sacks and took them down and out with me to the caretaker’s door, as it was only 07:12hrs, and too early to sue the chute yet. There was no time for photographicalisationing this morning, or I might miss the number 40 bus. I’d got it all planned out (I think I might have thought this before, Humph). The right bus fare in my pocket knew the times of the bus, I had 14 minutes to get to the stop. I arrived with for minutes to spare. Smug-Mode-Adopted.
It was a struggle on this bus to town. So many people were getting on, the trolly in the way, folks treading on and into me. I was so glad when we got into town, and I could get off of the bus last, as usual. I hobbled down Queen Street into Slab Square. I avoided a collision with a Nottinghamian Pavement cyclist as I got there. I was just about to take a photo of the two coffee robbers across the square. Came out a bit blurred, though.
Crossing the square to get to the Poundland Store (surely this time they will have some large Pork Farms pies or Payne’s chocolate Brazil misshapes in stock?). But no, they didn’t. However, I invested in: black bags, bleach, drain unblocker, cans of chilli-con-carne, an egg & bacon sandwich, and some more Ginsters beef pasty’s. The lady at the self-serve tills put them through for me and packed my bags. What an angel! As I left the store, some pigeons came down, the instant I dropped some nuts on the floor as I was taking the bag out of my pocket. There were not many left, but I lost them all! Still, the dickies benefited. Maybe they have learned that the bags can be dodgy from the Poundland shop, and other people have done the same? Haha!
I then carried out the plan, being as I had time if I didn’t take too long over it, to walk along and up Hounds Gate, and taking pictures along the way up.
I plan to make a post of these, with some funny comments, and get it posted off later, before updating this blog. Which I did! Which I did.
I turned right at the end of Hounds Gate, up Maid Marion way, previously known, when I worked at Tesco on the road, as Granby Street.
Getting over the traffic light crossing, at the junction with Friar Lane had its moments, I can tell you! I wasn’t (not that I ever do nowadays, going quickly) and needed time set the three-wheeled trolley guide down on a different level, the moved… the cross-lights were on green, and a naughty taxi shot around the corner! Tsk! Naughty!
I walked an alternate way to the Audio Clinic today, up Friar Lane, then Standard Hill, so I could take some photos of the Castle. I was amazed to see they were still working on it.
The Castle entrance still blocked off!
Then I hobbled up Standard Hil, again, I was threatened by an ignorant, uncaring, supercilious, cyclist. A self-asserting, insolent, toploftical, mocking, unlawful, sneering, huffish, nasty, overweening, pompous, discourteous and unhospitable, none-tax paying and uninsured, but handsome looking young Nottinghamian Pavement cyclist.
Near St James Terrace, I looked down at the view of the town and recalled this was where the last series of Boon was made. Just a thought!
To the end of Postern Street and left up to the top of Park Row, and on to the Ropewalk. A builder’s vehicle at the top, had me beat as to what it could be? Caterpillar tracks it had on it? Perhaps it is to get the wax out of me right ear-hole? Don’t know why I said that; it isn’t even funny. Am I losing it again?
I got in the clinic, and the chap who spoke to me about the appointment yesterday greeted me a shake come nod of the head, no words, mind. It dawned on later him that he’d seen me before. I gave him my appointment book, and he spoke (Yes!) He said; “I thought I recognised your limp!” I had to smile! Hehehe!
Within minutes a nurse, no, an audiologist, came and collected me and took me in her treatment room. A pleasant lady. She rechecked my ears for wax. And asked if I thought the ears (hearing) had got any worse since the stroke? I said not. The test was carried out, and there was no need for any changes. I mentioned the other lady who told me I need new inserts to stop the shrill-squealing. She said not so, all it required was the wax removing. If it builds up again, please call us and arrange for it be removed.
I departed after thanking her.
Now the new replacement worry was the medications and having only one beta-blocker left at home. So off to the Doctors again to beg and plead for some help (again).
Down Standard Hill, across Maid Marion Way and along Upper Parliament Street to the bus stops where I can catch a bus to the surgery.
Closed shops galore
Closed shops galore
And Pavement Cyclists too!
I caught a number 58 bus, and boy was that packed with passengers as well! (although compared the one I got later on, from Carrington to Sherwood, it was almost empty!)
I alighted in Carrington and limped over the road and up to the Sherringham Park Medical Surgery, and spoke with the receptionist, hoping she could advise me. She got a list of my medications out from a draw and was confused herself as to why I had had them delivered from the chemist yet. They had the date of Monday 1 July as the next delivery date? But I was short on supplies. And only the one Bisoprolol beta-blocker left. For the first time in my life, I lost it a little!
I suppose I’d got myself all worked up and said just what I felt. I moaned about why it is a secret what day my medications when to be delivered? Told them I am fed up with not getting any help from the chemist and the surgery! Not the ladies fault I know, she did the best she could, and asked if I wanted to see the Doctor? It would be a long wait, but… I thanked her and accepted.
Now, I even more fuming, I sat in the other waiting room. By the time the Doctor got the time to see me, I was still concerned about things, but was back to my regular timid, shy, self! When Dr Vindla called me in, I explained my frustrations and confusions, plus the beta-blocker situation, and she called the chemist and spoke with someone. She said go home, and the prescriptions will be delivered this afternoon.
My EQ warned me that this may not be the case! However, I thanked her and left to go home as instructed.
I walked down the road and over at the Pelican lights and waited for a bus back to Sherwood. When it arrived, on the journey, I was battered and bruised from the mauling I had taken from cram-packed passengers on the short trip. Now I was all niggly again!
I walked down to the crossing and over the road, almost spitting with frustration! (If only I’d known what was to come yet, I wouldn’t have bothered!)
I went in the Co-op store and got a pod peas and some tomatoes.
I got up to the Wilko store and got some clothes-freshener and granules. And liquid soap flakes, plus a bag.
When I got to the bus stop at the top of the hill, Jenny’s Frank joined me in the shelter. We were having a great chinwag. As the bus arrived, I could not find the bus pass! This really irked me, I had it earlier. Frank said he saw it in my hand before, Tsk! Niggly-time again!
I kept looking en route without any luck! At the bus stop, when I arrived at the flats, going through the pockets. No luck!
I got in the apartment, what a mood I was in! Searched for ages, before I found the bus pass – I was so relieved! Phew!
I put the things away, and got on with doing the extra blog about ‘Hounds Gate’. Of course, the fingers and shoulder started dancing. Life be right codswallop at times!
Then, I updated this post. It took me ages, as the fingers were worse than ever now! It got to well before my usual head down time. But as the medications might be coming, I pressed on with the blogging, to make sure I stayed awake and did not nod-off!
I got evening med’s ready and made about the fifth mug of tea, and the landline rang (This being about 1830hrs!) It was the chemist checking on where I lived and how to get in the flats! He knows I go to sleep early, I’ve told him often enough. Niggle-Time again! Told him, and carried on with the updating. He’s on his way at last.
I thought I’d do the hand washing, but there was no hot water again! I must remember to report it in the morning.
Ah, the prescription pots and medicines arrived! The owner of Carrington Pharmacy, Deepak, brought the goods. I wish he would have shown me how the packs work, though. 1855hrs: I thanked him, he’s a decent chap.
I put away the medications and got with sorting the belated meal. I was all in now, so tired. But wanted to stay awake for the England Ladies match against Norway.
By the time the meal was ready for consumption, the match was starting on the TV. So, down in the £300 second-hand, rickety, c1968, tatty gungy-beige recliner, tray on my lap and a feast of fodder and fine football followed!
Although some of the food did get spilt into my naked lap, which made me jump at tad when England scored after three minutes!
Of course, I was tickled pink. But if they are to get to and win the final, it means taking on not only the gifted French girls; but FIFA, the crooked, bent VAR controllers, back-hander referees and European hatred and jealousy for Brexiting England!
In the unlikely event that they meet in the final, despite all of untrustworthy, amoral, cheating, lying, guileful, dishonourable, recreant, sneaky, unctuous, Pecksniffian, unjust, and Janus-Faced, FIFA’s efforts (Just ask any Croatian for proof), and England win. Would someone be kind enough to call the 999 number for me and send someone to help me with the shock-induced heart-attack and second stroke I will be having, thank you? Hehehe!
But I still live in hope, although possibly vain hope – but fear that FIFA will fluff and f____ up any possible festivites for anyone but the freebooting foul French fiddlers. The American team now have to face the fiddling bent French tomorrow. I fear that FIFA will again find a way to ensure victory for France. Just you watch, for VAR cons, yellow cards and false penalties. If America does win, and I would love them too, then they will meet England, and I don’t think I could stand to watch that match. I’d be torn apart.
At least I stayed awake for all of the match… well, I say all, there was a couple of two-minute nod-offs. When the game ended, I remember thinking that the excitement was going to keep me from nodding-off… as I fell asleep!
Spit, fume, and jealousy!Maybe the most dangerous of the two choices?
Wednesday 27th June 2019
Scots Gaelic: Diardaoin 27 Ògmhios 2019
02:05hrs. After yesterday evenings nodding offs, I was not exactly surprised when I woke up with a bit of energy, after only four hours of proper sleep.
Off course, seeing the reminder note on the TV screen, for the Audio Clinic appointment, stirred me into an almost semi-lifelike mode. Of sorts, anyway.
As mind began to try and sort-out the talks ahead for the day and decided that getting the Tuesday post updated as far as possible, and as quickly as possible was the primary demand, the need of a wee-wee became apparent. So, I extracted my short, plump, wobbly bellied lumbering short body out of the £300, second-hand, near-dilapidated, rickety, gungy-beige coloured, c1968, tatty recliner. The stubbed toe was of little bother, as I stood, gained my balance, got the stick and hobbled over to the EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee Bucket) and had an RWPSWW (Reluctant-Weak-Painful-Spraying-Wee-Wee). Not a very pleasant experience. I prayed that the following wee-wees would be more comfortable.
Being as yesterday, idle-Tuesday, I had not even got dressed or shaved, there was no hand-washing to be done. Guilty-Mode-Engaged!
So, to the kitchen and got the kettle on, and the sphygmomanometer and medications out. The health check results were Sys, 137, Dia 56, Pulse 91, and Temperature 34.1°c. These readings looked fair to me. Took the medications, and left taking the Furesomide water tablets, being as I was going to the clinic. Don’t want to get caught out.
I checked that the Audio appointment book was in the jacket pocket with the bus pass. Then got on with updating the Tuesday blog. The fingers, thankfully were not too bad, dancing-wise at the moment, so I got the diary completed by 04:30hrs, and sent off. And, only two RWPSWWs needed while doing it! Smug-Mode-Adopted!
I made another brew and got started on this post. The wee-wees increased in frequency (so much for not taking the Furesomide, that helped didn’t it? Huh!) They were now of the ELDOPWW (Extra-long-Drawn-Out-Persistent-Wee-Wee) mode. Ever changing again!
I was going to take a photo from the unwanted light & view-blocking new balcony with the tons of glass to clean that cannot be accessed, and I spotted the new INR result sheet on the floor between the c1968 recliner and the c1950 easy-chair. I put in where it should be kept.
It was raining a little, lightly, and the mist had cleared, apart from in the distance. I managed to open the side window with the metal spring clip opener failing in its efforts to again take a chunk of flesh out of the hand or finger, this time. Swank-Mode-Adopted!
The light coloured paint on the cladding of the flats brightened this picture nicely.
I was doing better than I thought I would, with the fingers behaving for once. (This can’t last, of course!) I must not get over-confident, and still take the stick with me when I walk anywhere, so as not get in a picklement when they kick-off again. An amazingly rare Logical-Inchcock-Mode-Adopted!
I made a Morrison order for next week, Wednesday I think, good and early.
Got the ablutions tended to. Bit of a rush job and the shower cut off once? Which frit me, cause I had just sprayed some antifungal on the tiles when it stopped – thank heavens it started again!
Mor hurrying and scurrying, got things ready, and black bags to the chute.
Off to the shed.
The rain had stopped as I hobbled, being overtaken, en route to the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Flats, Oberstgruppenführer Wardens Temporary HQ, Toilet, Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, Rumourmongering Clinic. Tenants Socialisation Shed. Telling Inchcock off Zone. Things like china and pottery to be stolen from, and residents room.
I explained my worries to Deana about Josie, she said Josie had attended the free meal yesterday. So at least she must be feeling a bit better?
I took a shot of Winwood and Winchester Street flats as I went out to the bus stop. Where a gang of residents had huddled in the bus shelter, with lurkers surrounding it, stood on the road and scattered having chinwags. Haha!
The bus arrived, and I caught the L9 to town. Not feeling very good at the time. I suppose my EQ told me that things were not going to go well at the clinic… it was right!
I got off the bus on Upper Parliament Street, and sto0d and took this photograph, catching the ladies pink reflections in the bus shelter plastic windows, without realising it.
I made my way down Clumber Street street to the City Centre. Where I took a couple of pictures of the Council House from Slab Square, on my way to the Poundland Shop to see if they had any of the large Pork Farm pork pies in stock.
They hadn’t, but I got a ready-made BLT sandwich, steak pasties, and some handing out nibbles. I paid at the self-serve checkout without any cock-ups for once.
Then made my hobblingly up to Standard Hill and the high climb to the Audio Centre.
The feet were already aching and stinging. By the time I had manoeuvered my way up… Oh dear! The climb wasn’t really that bad – oh yes it was! Hehehe!
Up Lister Gate...
Standard Hill...
The rich-persons's restaurant...
The simple, organised, smooth running Audi Centre visit: Huh!
I got in, booked in with the receptionist and was told to take a seat, so I did.
A lady came out and called my name. We trotted to a service room.
What was the problem? She asked. I replied, the audiologist (that impresses her, I think) on my last visit, told me to make this appointment, to have new ear-inserts made, as the current ones had either cracked or bent somehow.
She had a look, and told me that dewaxing must be done immediately and asked why I had let them ears get so bad and not been earlier to have them seen to?
I explained about the peripheral neurosis being diagnosed, and the Stroke and nine weeks in hospital and then a residential home had caused me to forget about putting in the daily olive oil. No response as such, not even an ‘Erm’ or ‘I see!’
You must have them seen to immediately, the was looks so bad and tight, it may have some effect on your stroke?
She left the room and returned having found out the nurse could fit me in for a channel vacuuming.
She led me out to the waiting hall and told me to take a seat, so I did.
After a while, not long at all, the nurse came out and called my name. She took me to her treatment room.
I really wish I had asked her if I could photograph the lump of wax she had removed from the right earhole. She said she’d been doing this job for fourteen years, and had never seen so much compacted wax removed before.
I will have to have another hearing test, and I must book an appointment again later. (The heart sank once more at the thought of more waiting)!
She told me to go out to the waiting area, and someone would call me. So I did.
A receptionist bloke called my name out, and I went to the desk. It seems the nurse had kindly told him of my problems and all the waiting time. plus difficulties in getting the clinic (I saw a bit of the note the Angel had written on my paperwork ♥)
He explained that usually, it would take two-three weeks for an appointment… My heart sank! However, if I could get in tomorrow morning for 09:00hrs, I could get in a just-cancelled slot! I jumped at the chance! The man made the appointment and wrote it in my attendance book for me, mentioning that it was the first time he’s seen one of these, they had been stopped over seventeen years ago. Haha!
Now the mind was racing as I left the building. Today will tire me out, then I will have to get ready to leave the flat by 07:10hrs in the morning to pay for and catch the number 40 bus to town… I must make sure I have the right change, £2-30 bus fare.
Another stop to catch my breath…
Then on Friday, I have the Podiatrist visit to go to, at the Sherwood Health Cente.
I was having a little brain-churning-fretting session! And somewhat confused. Humph!
Down Standard hill and into the City Centre, where the timing worked out poorly, as I had just missed the L9 bus, and had another hour to wait for the next one. Never mind! I had a hobble around taking some photographs.
Long Row
Clumber Street
Clumber Street
Clumber Street
Made my way back to the bus stop, and decided to catch a 40 bus instead – a bad mistake this turned out to be! Almost a tale in itself:
Three stops along and a woman with a chap in a wheelchair got on, and utilised all three side-saddle seats opposite me, to get her patient’s chair in.
Next stop, a lady with a pushchair and her baby got on. She had to cram herself next to me, but for the few stops they were on the bus, I enjoyed smiling and swapping pulled-faces with the youngster. Hehe!
As the young lady got up to move her pushchair, she gave my right toe a jolly-good stubbing with the wheel – Twice!
At my bus stop, a chap got up early, and as the bus braked, he fell forward onto me! Standing on my right foot and toe! I was getting irritated with things now!
As the bus stopped, I asked him if he was alright, and got no reply.
The man, rather dangerously I thought, walked down the hill and crossed the road on the bend. I had walked up the incline to where the centre-rest was, to cross over. A car swerved to avoid him, and came a bit to close to me for comfort!
The bloke moved swiftly out of view, so I was pleased he had not hurt himself on the bus as he trod on my foot and fell on me!
By the time I had reached the flats and got inside, seeing no one at all en route, I was not in good condition.
I got the nosh sorted out and ate it all without any effort.
I washed the pots, and settled down in the c1968 recliner, and started to watch a Rumpole of the Bailey episode.
