26.5.15: Inchcock Today – What a Palava!

Tuesday 26th May 2015

Up at 0525hrs. Down and started laptop

IMG_0057Back up to the porcelain. Back down and kettle on (realising I’d forgot to get me milk yesterday – Tsk!) and took me medications.

Photo’d the sky on the way down.

Thought through the days designs.

I’ll skip the launderette today, because yesterday being a Bank Holiday I couldn’t get an appointment at the GP to have me INR Warfarin level checks done, so will have to go to the Queens Medical Centre haematology department today to have it done.

I wanted to set up the shredder and get sorting some paperwork out today, also to get some stuff off to the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop.

Missed call from BJ on mobile last night – but with me collapsing and falling asleep? I’ll call him back later at a reasonable time. He was probably calling to see if I was still going to the launderette?

I rang BJ back and explained thing and he said he could not get to take any bags for me until Thursday, and then not for certain. Told him I appreciate his circumstances and thanked him for his help.

I tried to learn about adding deleting fonts on W8… huh! gave up and loaded IMG_0058my old MS Office onto the new laptop – what a performance, I lost two hours getting it on right… damned new technology!

Set off on me walk into town with me bus-pass and list of things to do and get.

I called in the launderette and had a natter with BJ as he did his washing.

Then set off on me walk into Nottingham City Centre.

IMG_0059I’d not gone more than just over the side road in this picture above and one of the famous Pavement Cyclists made an appearance – with one in the distance too!

I plodded on, feeling a bit better thinking it’s about time I had a decent walk.

As I started down the hill the traffic lights at the junction of Mansfield Road and Huntingdon Street were IMG_0060blocked, traffic at a standstill.

Soon as I got me camera out they started to move a bit.

I called in the Victoria bus-station and got a time-table for the 141 service to Mansfield – hoping I can find time to use it soon.

IMG_0061Went into Tesco and got some bread but forgot to look for me curried beans.

As I came out of the centre the two old Post-boxes caught me eye and I wondered how long it would be before they are replaced.

A bit of Olde England there I thought.

I caught a bus to the Queens Medical Centre, the Y36 ran by a private company. They have bought all Mercedes Benz buses.

IMG_0063I was a tad concerned when I saw the drivers left leg shaking like wot teenagers and druggies do like.

IMG_0064We were soon at the Queens Medical Centre.

There was a good sized queue for the haematology department, so I took a ticket and sat down and got me IMG_0062Dunkirk book out to read. Then changed to reading the free Metro newspaper, where I came across an interesting article about City Cycling… It seems they are to spend £6m on widening the cycling lanes and introducing more of them!

Seems to me the Pavement Cyclists of Nottingham would prefer to use the side-walks and pedestrian areas as it is! IMG_0065The dangerous gits!.

Got seen to by the nice new nurse in the blood room and gave her their nibbles and said me cheerios – no time for a natter as they were busy.

Caught a bus to Bulwell in search of me curried beans.

IMG_0071Amazingly and unintentionally as I took a photo en route – I caught yet another Nottingham Pavement Cyclist through the bus window on the left!

Got into Bulwell and called at the Fulton’s store, but they had no curried beans or microwave sausages either Huh!

So I caught a bus to Arnold… well Arnold eventually that was. It went all over the place – not that it mattered apart from I was not going to get me shredding done later, but it was a nice ride.

IMG_0067Spotted more Nottingham Pavement Cyclist en route. Tsk!

Got to Arnold and went in the Fultons Store there.

They didn’t have any curried beans or microwave sausages either.

I got some milk and cheese though – but after standing at the checkout for ages with no staff appearing I dropped the basket where I as and left.

I went over to Iceland and guess what?… They didn’t have any curried beans or microwave sausages either.

I did get a couple of bits, milk, tomatoes and Bertolli Original Olive oil spread – but no curried beans or microwave sausages.

IMG_0068IMG_0072Caught a bus back to town, believe it or not when I saw it I thought ‘Hello, this bus is in a state. When it moved off the engine didn’t sound very good to me, and it was loaded with Nottinghamians with mobiles and ankle-snappers.

First time on that bus for me – What a route it took as well: Arnold, Oxclose Lane through the Bestwood Estate, Chippenham across to Beckhampton through Rise Park to the shopping centre – and that’s where it IMG_0073happened… the smoke from the engine accompanied by the fumes and the driver had us abandoned the bus and wait for the next one in 15 minutes.

The woman next to me got my sympathy cause it was a cold wind blowing and we were at the top of a hill while we waited for the bus to arrive.

From there we piled onto the new bus and it continued on it’s circuitous route into the City IMG_0074Centre.

We passed the shop I used to manage for the NCS years ago, sadly all closed up and for sale now (Right).

My mind went back to the good and bad times I had there.

IMG_0075Then we travelled up Alfreton Road into town and we passed what was the first ever Marsdens shop I worked at – more memories evoked.

There I was, a 14 year old ankle-snapper full of hopes aspirations and good intentions starting off on me chosen career… and I loved the job as well!

Into town and down Derby Road, I dropped off at the top of Friar lane and walked down and IMG_0076across the Slab Square.

Odd, but I felt I didn’t belong or fit-in the photograph I took?

Funny that.

The blue blow-up things you can see in the slab square are mini-tennis areas using soft balls.

IMG_0077On the left were mini-tennis courts set-up, and very popular they were too!

I knew they were not using proper tennis balls as soon as I put me camera back in me pocket and one of the balls clouted me on the back of me head. Hehehe, could this only happen to me?

IMG_0066Waiting for the bus to Carrington to arrive (Gawd I love my pensioners free bus-pass to bits!) I had a read of the Post Light.

The letters page had this on the right in it.

So glad to see others want the death penalty bringing back for Pavement Cycling!

Only joking!

Arrived in Carrington and nipped into the Co-op to find that they didn’t have any curried beans or microwave sausages either.

IMG_0078Out and through the twitchell, and got a shock as this twit of a Pavement Cyclist came passed me from behind making jump – the Gerplonkergit him!

Fed the pigeons en route to back to the asylum.

WC’s and cleaned up my bleeding Inch and rear-end piles.

Had  wash and put me shopping such as it was away IMG_0079and got me nosh prepared for later.

Found a letter ont floor – the clinic were not happy with missing last weeks visit – I sent them an email apologising and explaining the reason I missed the  appointment.

I feel such a fool now!

Not that I wasn’t one before like…

IMG_0080The loaded cheese and onion tattie-skins were nice, the English tomatoes very nice.

Used up the last of me Polish belly-pork with garden peas along with some of the tomatoes and gorgeous caramelised red onion relish with some bread thins.

Oh and me last Cox’s apple too.

I’m getting leg cramps now. Tsk!

Well tired but I did some Facebooking before I tried to get me head down – could I sleep?

Huh!

Mon 25th May 15: Inchcock Today – Confused

Monday 25th May 2015

Awoke with remnants of a dream in me head – wrote em down. Seems I was trying to clean everyone’s shoes as they passed, I had a sink strapped to me shoulder and washed them, then spray painted them, ending up handing them back to the wrong person and then I was up in court being sued for something by a solicitor lady looking down her nose at me, a bit like Hyacinth Bucket from Keeping Up Appearances?

Got up, put the water heater on IMG_0043washed me dishes, took me medications (Forgot the BP again!).

Fed the pigeons and thought what I had on me agenda for today.

Take bag for Nottingham Hospice shop out with me, call in the GP to make an appointment for me INR Warfarin tests for tomorrow, walk up to Sherwood to the hospice shop, then catch bus into town to try and get some milk and curried beans and check out Fultons Foods to see if they had any microwave sausages back in stock, then return to the flea-pit and get some shredding done.

Thought I’d have a quick stab at the new laptop/notebook (What’s the difference?) first, to check if I could get a newer Coreldraw to download. Well, that took care of the next four hours… after much struggling I got one downloaded.

Got the lightest (Although it wasn’t light really) of the bags already made up for the Hospice along with me regular one and set off on walk to the GP surgery, full of plans like.

As I got to the entrance to Sherringham Medical Park and saw it all locked up – I realised it was Bank Holiday Monday… Wotta Plonker!

That means of course the Hospice Charity Shop will not be open. So I trudged back home with the bag, then back to Mansfield Road and caught a bus into the City Centre. The shops there all seemed to be open and I called in Tesco

IMG_0052Got some bits from Tesco, nice tomatoes, leaves and bread, but they had no Curried Beans in?

Walked through the centre and out the other end, catching a good photo of the famous Nottinghamians ignoring the ‘Don’t Walk’ lights at the junction of Milton Street and Upper Parliament Street… again!

IMG_0053I decided to go to the Pound shop to see if they had any in like.

But no.

Walked down a crowded Clinton Street, back of the Council House, crossed over and down Bridlesmith Gate and into Broad Marsh Mall and the 99p store.

They didn’t have any curried beans in either.

Down the escalator and through and out on Wheeler Gate and called in the Poundland shop.

They didn’t have any curried beans in either.

Limping now, I walked through town calling at the Opticians on me way through, but as I expected they were closed, across the slab square and up King Street, where a bloke without any badging or licence showing stopped me to see if I wanted to donate to some Cub’s company. A bit farcical really, I couldn’t understand every thing he was saying and he gave me a scowl when I declined ant the same time he looked hurt?

IMG_0054On up to the bus-stop, bit of record while i was waiting in the queue I took photograph of the queue in the next stop down.

Best I could make out, everyone in the queue was on a mobile phone!

Note that when I took this photographicalisation the vehicular traffic was at stop – the pedestrians were on green – and true to the obstinacy of Nottinghamians none of the were crossing – they must have been waiting for the red don’t walk light to come on.

IMG_0055As the bus drove up Mansfield road from the City centre I couldn’t help but feel sad as the Rose Of England pub looked barren of customers. Years ago when there was plenty of on-street parking and dozens of little streets all around the building it did a good trade.

I dropped off the bus and called in the Co-op to see if they had any Curried Beans in stock.

They didn’t have any curried beans in either.

Wandered down to Lidl to check there.

They didn’t have any curried beans in either.

‘What’s going on?’ I asked missen?

Back to the bomb-site and a quick blast on the new laptop to keep me eye in on it like. Coreldraw didn’t freeze, but then again I was not doing anything heavy on it yet.

IMG_0056Made me nosh… me best one for ages. It should be mind, bearing in mind what it cost me for the Boczku like.

Up the apples and on the old laptop to finalise this diary and took me medications and goobled up the nosh of the day.

Soon nodded off for an hour.

Watched a DVD…

Sun24.5.15 Inchcock Today – Huh!

Sunday 24th May 2015

Huh!

Despite being so tired, had a job getting off to kip last night – managed around 0300hrs. Woke, springing awake at 0545hrs.

Dreamt something about being in a cave, rope ladders kept falling at the bottom were my old teachers with canes ready to clout me as I landed. The massive high caves had candles on the walls?.

Wondered about whether the deliveries would be coming today and what time – then thought about what I could be sorting while waiting.

Took me morning medications.

The little Inch lesion was bleeding again.

IMG_0043Made a cuppa and laptop on.

Fed the pigeons, all young ones today, I could tell by their feet being a deeper red coloured yer know.

Then I sorted some old paperwork into the bag with the mountain of paperwork in it, in readiness for when the shredder arrives (?) today, to get ‘shreddeded’.

l can feel the stomach brewing up for an evacuation (I hope).

Forgot me BP thingies again this morning – Tsk! Mind on other things methinks.

IMG_0042I mused for a while over the painting that Patti Berkert did for me when I came out of hospital after me ticker operation – and realised I have many kind understanding friends on the internet who do wish me well without finding faults in me. (That would be oh so easy too – hehe)

I think it was one of Patti’s early attempts at painting and it means so much to IMG_0044me.

Got some more paperwork sorted to shred later… I hoped.

Made a cuppa and read me book for a bit.

The pulled me back again bending to get stuff out of the bottom cabinet to sort out some for the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop others in the black rubbish bags.

I think I swore again?

IMG_0045Cleaned around a bit and then on laptop to start this dairy off. As I did I noticed that the skip across the road had been raided and white paint scattered on the road – Tsk!

Waiting for me things to be delivered for hours and hours.

When I gave up doing any more IMG_0046painful sorting out, another cuppa and back to the laptop – when I espied the culprit (Well one if them) that had been doing the antisocial activities at the waste skip across the road.

He’s returned to make more mess again!

Totally care free and apparently IMG_0048without any concern too.

I decided against saying anything or going out to him as he looked like the younger brother of the leader of the gang that mugged me last year – and I did not want to get involved with them again.

Under any circumstances.

A few hours later I got a call from the PC World chap to say he was outside the house trying to deliver me goods.

I opened the door and saw him at the other end of the road outside someones house with a barrow of goods at his feet. I called him back told him to look behind him and see me waving at him!

He put the stuff back in his van and moved down to the flea-pit and handed them to me. The man in the shop when I bought them said they’d set it all up for me, notebook and scanner, he said like the man who phoned yesterday did: “All set-up, ready to go!” I thought the driver had gone to get some paperwork from his van, but he disappeared. Humpf!

I got the laptop going and set up the scanner. The instruction manual for the scanner installation said to put in the CD that came with it and follow instructions… if only life was so easy eh? After moving half way in the the installation window it went no further. After 5 minutes I got messages telling me if I wished to continue with this installation I needed to install an update – so I clicked Yes. It froze. Then tried afresh and got the same message again? Unsure whether to click yes or no again I gave up. Help needed here then!

Not confident using this new Windows and  I didn’t like the gaudy background picture on it.

It was getting late now and I was well tired, so decided to switch of the notebook to clear the frozen messages, restart and put a plain colour on as background… Hehehe! I didn’t know how to turn it off, to sleep or restart it did I!

I went ont web and found out. It said slide pointer inwards from the top or bottom of the right side of the screen to get these Charm Bars up – it didn’t work and I delved into the help files ont web again. Transpired that loads of people have had the same problem. Press Windows button + C and they come up.

Grand I thought so I did, and clicked Restart – that was the start of a marathon wait while it downloaded 87 updates!

IMG_0049I made and ate me nosh while waiting, it were beginning to get dark now!

I have to say, despite me annoyance at having to wait over 2.5 hours for the updated to install, I really really enjoyed me nosh today. Well smoked Kippers in tomato sauce and vegetables, new potatoes and nice sweet canned Petit Pois! Even the tatties were excellent!

As the notebook told me it had completed the downloads I nearly cried out with joy – then it started Configuring the 87 uploads – oh dear…

Managed to get me blue background on the screen then: W+C, Settings, Power, then selected Turn off – seems a bit convoluted to me for the new windows 8.1?

Fancy figures on a sticker on the notebook: Aspire E 17 ESI-711-P3LV Fancy name that?.

A bit not fully comprehending these figures though, I know it is a powerful machine the man at PC World said it was: HDMI port? 100GBHDD? 6GBDD23 LM? With Pentium 90 Core Proc 83540 I know this one I think, it’s the processor innit?

I wrote these figures down on the back of some letter I was going to  scrap, so as to remember em and put em on here like.

IMG_0050

Realised when I did, it was a letter from the Manchester Council in reply to my appeal against a parking ticket. An interesting incident this was, a few years ago mind:

I got this fine through the post about me leaving me vehicle on Granby Row in Manchester on a day I was at work in Nottingham with me car on CCTV for 15 hours naturally including the time they said I was in Manchester illegally parking!

Well I was in fine form and returned the summons with words to the effect of: I was in Nottingham with my vehicle from 1500hrs to 0600hrs on the sad day, the vehicle was parked in the car park on the premises and I had the CCTV recording to prove this. (I also gave names and contact numbers of several officers I was working with on the night shift.)

If your Parking Warden would like, I can send him the address of several excellent opticians in Nottingham that might help him? I’m afraid we have no Jobsworth or Stiff-upper-lip shops, so I’m afraid I cannot help you Sir!

By gum I felt good when I sent that…

This letter was the reply Michael Herbert sent me, a right Herbert as me Dad would have said – no sense of humour at all some folks Tsk!

Must try to some sleep in now, don’t want to get up late in the morning cause I must go book an appointment with the GP for me next INR Warfarin level test. And I want to take some bags to the Hospice shop, and I’m short on nosh too.

Really want to get some shredding done, and learn about the new notebook, but we’ll see how things go – chaotically perhaps? Hahaha!

Huh! me piles are bleedin’ again now…

TTFN all.

Sat 23.5.15 Inchcock Today: Waiting indoors fer his equipment to arrive?

Saturday 23rd May 2015

I had surprisingly good kip last night, over 6 hours and that’s rare fer me. Off course it was dream filled, but blown if I remember any details this time. Funny that, sometimes remembering so much of them and others nowt much at all. Wonder if anyone else is like this?

No WCing this morning yet?

Had a good scrub-up and limped down stairs (The angina a bit nasty, arthritis in knees not too bad but the hands are, bleeding from me piles cleaned up, reflux valve sticking a bit, the blind boil and skin cancer patch tender and the dizzies have started early – Tsk!).

I gathered me things to do a search of the City Homes site, made a cuppa and laptop on.

Logging on took about six attempts, why I don’t know.

Realised I’d forgotten to do me BP tests, hey-ho too late now.

Made another cuppa and started to search the Independent Living (Seniors Aided Homes) section.

The first one on the list was ‘High Cross Leys’ on Woodborough Road near the City Centre. Not a Council one, a private one that the council advertised. I then did a search for the complex on the web and got this up:

Man Dies in Flat Fire

HighCross1

A man’s body was discovered after a fire at Highcross Leys warden-aided complex in St Ann’s.

Police and firefighters were called to Highcross Leys, Woodborough Road, at 10.20am.

The body of a man, yet to be formally identified, was found in one of the flats.

Firefighters from Central, Carlton and Arnold stations put the fire out by 11.10am.

A number of other people were treated after breathing in smoke.

A forensic examination was carried out involving the East Midlands fire dog investigation unit.

Police are working with the fire service to establish the cause of the blaze, numerous suspicious circumstances are being investigated.

Well that gave me encouragement and cheered me up no-end!

HighCross1I continued searching for any properties that I could qualify for and wanted to look at one in a high rise block in Sherwood.

The system then told me ‘Page unavailable’ and the Council’s site froze. Huh!

I got back on the page and it would not let me in to bid or view properties. But I did read some of the ‘Rules’ for Independent Living Accommodation.

There are Four bands. Band 1: The one most likely to be granted a place – down to Band 4: Those with their own home the least likely.

As I say, I’m cheering missen up no-end today… being classed in Band 4 like…

Tried again on the City Homes site to find Sunridge Courts, which is the one nearest to me and most suitable because I could keep my own GP if I could get in there. Nothing available to Band 4 folk like wot I am though!

While searching for Sheltered housing I came across Miss Cullen’s Almshouses in Sherwood that have been converted into flats (Built 1882). There was no costs displayed but I sent them an email asking for details and showing my interest and reasons. Now I must not get excited about this, just hopeful.

Did a bit of cleaning, I’m expecting the hoover and shredder to arrive with the laptop and scanner late afternoon – but not sure of course – can’t concentrate very well. As the day goes on I’m worried if I have to visit the WC and miss them?

I’ve got that many papers to sort and shred, I’ll start sorting them now.

Got a call from PC World who told me my laptop is ready to be collected? I informed him I was told it would be delivered along with me hoover scanner, inks, Iron and shredder today or tomorrow. Oh dear dear dear… not another ‘Whoppsiedangleplop’ surely? I wouldn’t be surprised though.

After a couple of hours bending and sorting and packing stuff fer the bins, recycling and Nottingham Hospice shop – I’m tuckered! Me backs well painful now.

Made a cuppa and took a break on Facebook for a bit.

Well done that… but don’t feel up to much still – Tsk!

IMG_0037Tried to do some more sorting out, and came across an old Orlando Sentinel newspaper! I posted it on the TFZ to see if anyone could guess the date of it – after going on Coreldraw9 and blocking it showing.

Got some paperwork sorted out that needs shredding when the machine arrives – and a lot more to get ready too. That is if I’m up to it by the time it comes, very tired now. Poor old scrote!

IMG_0038Make another cuppa strong tea and gave up doing any more sorting. Made up a good few bags to go to the Hospice shop, now I just need time to take them there.

I was musing over the receipts from PC World, and it dawned on me how much I’d actually spent – it frit me a bit – but I do or will need everything I bought. Whether it comes today or tomorrow I must get some sleep on to go with the good one I had last night.

The receipt read:

Brother Bro LC227 XL VAL £59.99 That was the ink I think

Brother MFC J4625 DW £99.99 The printer copier

Philips GC2040/20 X00000060618 £19.99 The iron?

Hoover Blaze BLD 3001 X000011123 £64.99 The vacuum cleaner

Fellows 60CS Shredder Xoooo114709 Paper shredder

Acer Aspire ES 1-711 £379.99 Laptop

MCA LS 0000 + CLD WBW 0000112088 £39.00 No idea what this is?

KNH Set up & P 32GB 1X0000075499 – Knowhow Report Setup – In store USB set £45.00???

Confusing innit?

IMG_0040Got even more paperwork sorted ready fer shredding.

No delivery by 1845hrs, so made me nosh and got  on with this diary.

The pod peas were uneatable eurgh!

Hope the delivery comes early in the morning so I can get some shredding done… perhaps… possibly… maybe…

Fri 22.5.15 Inchcock Today

Friday 22nd May 2015

Disturbed night, couldn’t get rid of the feeling that I would not get the flat at Spencer Court’

Took medications.

Got up and did some sorting.

BJ rang, he’s calling later twixt 1100 > 1130hrs.

On laptop, email from Spencer Court, the board have rejected my application for  a flat.

Now at my lowest ebb.

Decided to go and see the Council to restate my interest in independent living flats again and find out me password.

Still pressing on with sorting and cleaning while waiting for BJ to arrive.

1235hrs, no BJ. Rang him no answer, hope he’s alright.

If BJ arrives I’ll go to see if I can get a paper-shredder, hoover and laptop delivered, with someone setting up the laptop for me. This one keeps loosing vision and or freezing.

1245hrs and no BJ yet. Hope he’s alright. Rang him no reply. Tried again later same. Then he phoned back, he’ll be about half an hour.

Not feeling so bad about losing the flat now – not good in any way mind – but determined to try at the Council again, it’s just that they only have one complex nearby to the GP surgery, so any I might get will involve me moving doctor as well, no good that.

Now I’ve reminded missen about that I feel worse again! Tsk!

BJ arrived eventually. After a chin-wag he loaded the five bags into his car and lifted me to the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop with them.

IMG_0031While in the shop BJ found two books he’d been after getting for ages – so I treat him in way of thanking him fer his help like.

I spotted a Commemorative decorated Plate on sale of the Royal Visit to Canada in 1939. Took this photo so I could post it here and on the TFZ site.

BJ went home and I caught the bus outside the hop into town.

Went in PC World and spent a fortune, having me items delivered Sat or Sunday.

Went over to Tesco and got some bread, new potatoes, pod peas, pork loin and cream cake.

IMG_0032Poddled across town, (avoiding the burke on  a bike) to the City Council Contact point in the library took a ticket and sat in the queue for an hour.

I explained about things and got a new contact code so I can start searching for what they call Independent Living accommodation (Warden aided flats) again on the Web. Must keep trying eh?

IMG_0033On the way through the City Centre someone had collapsed or fell over and a pavement cyclist nearly ran into them, I saw the nerk coming near them but he was too quick to catch.

I got up Queen Street and caught a bus back to Carrington.

Got some bread thins from the Co-op when I dropped off the bus, through the twitchell and back to the depressing dump deemed home.

IMG_0034WC’d and had a mope about me bad luck for a bit.

Prepared my nosh: Pod peas, bread thins, Cox’s apple, new potatoes, tomatoes, liver pate and pork pie.

Fit for a King I thought, made a cuppa and consumed it with pleasure.

Finished this Diary.

A testing day of disastrous news.

Coping is the best I hope for – so be it! Tsk!

Huh… cramp in me fingers now.

Thur 21.5.15: Inchcock Today – A feeling of failure

Thursday 21st May 2015

Woke after three hours dream filled kip remembering a bit of one and wrote it down straight away and drew a picture of a part of it. Decided to get it down quick before any of the memories faded like wot they do: I reproduced the written drawing on Coreldraw9 in between it and the laptop freezing:

Started with me going.. being forced to go with Sister Jane and Pete to a posh restaurant in a big mansion type place – we met another 5 unknown to me people and I got served last with stale chips and and some meat of some sort all that was left for me… tried to wrap it up in a carrier bag but it kept falling out – then everyone else had left I got lost getting out of the place and ended up on the roof, lost my shoes…

In a house on a bed babysitting two girls and a Chicken?

aa03GcOne the streets at night looking for somewhere… ended up in a gigantic wooden building with a giant water tank in the middle, walkway with a door and window, on the walls and wanted to get from the walkway onto a wooden escalator water running down it? Couldn’t find a route through, frustrated got back to the walkway and the door – someone who appeared then demanded payment by bankers draft of me microwave sausages for me to be let out… I was not parting with my microwave sausages and had to climb through the window to escape…

I was in dark streets, running through narrow passages and nooks, kept losing parts of my clothing as I searched for a way home… Came to an open space with houses that had giant concrete steps you had to climb to get into them, they ran for miles, I was at the bottom of the steps wondering why I was carrying a little doll, when a black dog and seal attacked me… had to climb the steps up to get away from them  and when I reached the top I wondered how I managed to get up them without any pain from the arthritis? The dog and seal caught up with me and somehow I made friends with them?

Still dark streets, and by now I was in just me underpants and torn vest with a bag of some sort over me shoulder, maybe the meal from earlier?

Back to running down alleyways for ages it seemed trying to find me way… A policeman stood at the end of one of passages and just smiled as I passed, then he hit me with his truncheon and laughed, like the Laughing Policeman of old at the seaside used to laugh…

I was back on the bed with the chicken, feeding it Marmite crisps as it clucked away to me as if talking? Hey-ho!

Did me BP thingies: Sys 158 Dia 74 Pulse 68 Temp 31.4c

WC’d, more bleeding from the Inch, none from the haemorrhoids.

Pondered on how thing might go today – remembered I have to go to the GP nurse for me INR tests at 0915hrs. Clinic 1110hrs and Age UK’s Steve and MRBHA assessor coming at 1300hrs.

Started this diary.

IMG_0025WC and another cuppa and I was ready fer me little walk to the GP surgery for me INR Warfarin level tests.

IMG_0028Fed the pigeons on the way.

It was a bit windy but the sky was nice as I approached the pelican lights to cross over Mansfield Road and turn left up the incline to the keep my appointment at the Sherringham Medical Centre Practise Nurse for me INR tests. I wondered if I’d be done IMG_0026by the ObergruppenfĂ¼hrer one or the nice one that’s new to the practice and not yet adopted a bolshy attitude?

Luckily I got the nice one, and she done me proud, even though I’d forgot to take me Anticoagulation record card with me, and she asked how I was?

I handed the receptionist a bag of nibbles as I thanked then and left.

IMG_0027I was only a couple of hundreds yards down the road on me way to Lidl and one of the far too numerous Nottingham Pavement Cyclists passed rather closely by me.

I turned around and got his photo to add to the 89 photo’s of these unthinking vermin I have at present.

It wouldn’t be so bad if they had a honker or loud bell  and used them to let the pedestrians know they were coming – and were aware of people with bad eyesight, poor hearing and lack of manoeuvrability and slowed down a bit would it? But I refuse to allow these ilegal nasty pieces of work to get to me!  LIE MODE DETECTED!

gum1Caught the bus to the GUM Clinic and was tended to with great embarrassment.

In and out within 30 minutes and hastened and caught bus back into Carrington and called at the Lidl store.

Feeling well drained now – think I might have done too much yesterday?

Got a pork pie, small bag of Jersey new potatoes two cheese rolls and four flat-bottomed carrier bags. And… the bags were cheaper than the Co-op and Pound shop Tsk if only I’d known earlier!

Got back to the bomb-site feeling really not very good at all – tired, weary and me feet legs and back were bad! But I must put on an “I’m fine” smile when the lady comes from the MRBHA to interview me… Good heavens, two pretend policemen have just walked passed me window down the street – they’ll not catch the antisocial element at this time of day… well they might!

Sod-it, another dizzy now.

Steve from Age UK arrived and then the ladies from MRBHA.

I felt that it didn’t go too well. They are having a meeting to pick which of the applicants will get the flat at Spencer Court and let me know next week.

IMG_0029I made a flask and me meal and got some much needed sleep in.

BJ rang I woke but not in time to answer the phone before it stopped.

I rang back but no answer.

No chance of nodding off again. Realised I’d left me flask downstairs.

IMG_0030Feeling low again.

The photo I took of the sky as I returned to start me laptop said it all to me – The End of the Day…

TTFN.

Hey-ho!

Wed 20.5.15: Inchcock Today: Age UK councillor arrives

Wednesday 20th May 2015

0201

Woke up with a jump and boggled racing mind again: No district nurses to call again any more (Sigh). Mused over the dreams I had but lost all memories as I did – odd that?

WC’d, damned little Inch bleeding again, and the blind boil and skin cancer growth were both very tender.

Took me medications and did me BP test thingy:

Sys 162 Dia 82 Pulse 84 Temp 35.2c.

Started this diary. The laptop was going  very slowly. Coreldraw9 crashed when making the header (Fancy that!).

Had a wash and shave and started to sort out the mass of wiring in the front room. What a tangle! Hey-ho!

Worked away sorting and cleaning and bagging – hours of it – clouted me forehead when bending and got a dizzy.

Well shattered by the time the Age UK persons arrived at 1129hrs.

Steve and Cerium, both nice people.

We talked and decided Steve would come tomorrow to be here when the Assessor comes from the MRBHA. He had to phone them first to see if they could change their appointment time so he could attend the meeting.

I had to take back the syringes to the chemists as I no longer needed them. So I thought I’d get six of the Co-op strong bags to use for me transferring stuff in the event I get the flat like. The chances are looking a bit brighter now I’ve spoke with Steve.

Yesterday BC suggested that I get some of those flat bottomed bags to use in the transfer of stuff. So as I had to go to the chemist to return the syringes no longer required I called in the Co-op and paid for six bags. The idea being to get so many of different stores bags so as to identify stuff for different room s in the new flat like. The Co-op, after I’d paid, found out they only had two in stock – Tsk! So I  said not to bother and got a refund.

IMG_0017Int life a bother?

As I was coming back on Mansfield Road two bobby-cars crossed over to the wrong side of the road to pass the cars stopped at the pelican crossing.

You should have seen the dirty look I got from the woman police-person driver when she passed and saw me taking the photo! If looks could kill I’d been a gonna!

Got back to the dump feeding the pigeons en route to find a letter from Boots Opticians telling me the glasses were ready to be collected. Gawd knows when I’ll get time for that.

And me INR Anticoagulation results – informing me I have to have another test tomorrow – so I’ll have to go to the GP surgery to book it. There’s no way I can fit in or cope with INR test, getting to the opticians, clinic visit and the MRBHA Assessor visitation all tomorrow… but then again…

Not sure what time or if BJ will be calling today. BJ rang and he is not due to come – I got confused again. Huh!

So I set-off to go to surgery then get the bus to town to get glasses and bags.

Be back soon, I hope like…

Well folks, I caught the bus into town, went into Tesco and bought 6 of the flat bottomed bags. The pack of two fresh cream horns seemed to jump into me shopping basket as I passed by them again. Tsk!

IMG_0019I walked through and out of Victoria shopping Centre and across the traffic lights – noticing the suicidal nature of the Nottingham shoplifters… no I mean citizenry, to cross the road against the lights at this junction yet again! Although after loading the photograph I see I’ve missed the red and green lights off of it, I can assure you they were on red for pedestrians. Best of all they don’t even look to see if any traffic is coming, just waddle on with their mobile phones attached to their ear-holes. Huh!

IMG_0021I walked down and into the City Centre.

Took a ‘Moody photo’ of the side of the Council house showing the shadows sky and futility of life… eh? Did I say that?

Straight on from here, across the pedestrian crossing and up to the top of Friar Lane and into Boots opticians to collect me glasses. Had the two gals in tucks with laughter as I found me form and revealed me disasters of the week to them. While doing this the commented on me scar on me head and I had em laughing again – I was enjoying this – until it dawned on me I’d forgotten to call at the GP to try and get an appointment with the nurse to have me INR test done. One of the ladies let me use the phone and got me the number – and I got booked in for the morning at 0930hrs – heaven help me if I forget!

Then I walked down and right into Wheeler Gate and called in the pound shop and got 6 of their flat-bottomed bags with a Donald Duck picture on them.

IMG_0022Out and back through the Nottingham Slab-Square taking a photograph that is here on the right.

Not sure if I had changed any settings on it by mistake, but it came out nothing like I recall the sky being – or is it me new glasses? Hehe!

Over the square and up King Street to the bus-stop and joined the queue for the bus to Carrington.

Slipping the pigeons a few clandestine seeds on the way.

The bus was quiet full and I wish I had brave enough to turn and take a photograph of me fellow passengers as only three of them were not on their mobiles. One lady somewhere near the back was so loud I think the others were shouting to get their message through to whoever they were calling over her voice. Still, I hope she enjoys her Carbonara whatever that is, with Marvin tonight.

IMG_0023Got back to the dump WC visit and set about making me 7 microwave sausages and chopped tomatoes dish.

Had some bread thins to wrap each sausage in and soak up the juice.

Marvellous!

I tried to get me head down for a bit, but cramps in me right leg ensured I didn’t get me head down for a bit. Gobbleknots!

Gave up trying to kip and finished this diary.

The reflux valve gave me some scary bother for a while, thought at one stage “Hello, now I kick the bucket just when I’ve got a chance of moving to a warden-aided flat!” TssssK!”

But it stopped again, and the the cramps spread to left leg? Is it because I’m not gerrin’ me walks in? If I remember I’ll ask the ObergruppenfĂ¼hrer Nurse in the morning – as I say, if I remember to go…

Let’s see if I’ve got this right… 0939 GP nurse INR test… 1120 Clinic with me bleeding Inch, 1300hrs Steve and the MRBHA assessor coming to see me, 1600hrs pick up prescriptions and phone QMC to confirm appointment… yes that’s all I reckon… ah, got to try and get some sorting done as well… oh dear…

Tue 19.5.15: Inchcock Today: Progress! Too late but still, Progress!

Tuesday 19th May 2015

I felt a bit like the sky this morning IMG_0266a, bit dark and unsettled, on edge, anxious.

Must do me best to get some sorting done again: I just hope BJ gets in touch. I think he rang last night but just ‘Private number’ shown on phone.

Must remember Wednesday the Age UK gentleman is calling and Thursday the evaluator from Spencer Courts is coming to interview and assess me for application to the flat.

The mind still swirling. The littlest setback criticalistion or failure and down I go. Sad state of affairs.

Even me BP readings looked dodgy to me this morning, I’ll ask the District Nurse when she comes to give me the needle, if she can have a look.

Sys 131, Dia 76, Pulse 99, Temp 34.6c?

Started this diary – had a washski and started to sort some paperwork out.

BJ rang again, this time on another phone that showed up – rang him back. His better half answered, BJ will call later to see me.

I think missing me walks and wanders is doing me no good, but just do not have the time with all these appointments to go on ’em – Sad!

So, Wednesday Age UK advisor coming – Thursday MRBHA assessor coming, Friday clinic, District nurses twice a day  for the next six days at least.

BJ called and I explained me situation come plight to him – he took me bags of washing to give Mandy at the launderette to do a service wash for me bless him. He said he would come this afternoon to take some of the bags away for me. What a mate!

Waiting for the nurse I updated this sad Tommy-rot. Whilst doing so the warm wet sensation came in me pants – Boggleplonkdamn! – Little Inch was bleeding again. Cleaned missen up and continued to wait for the nurse.

IMG_0003Nurses arrived and done me injections. We had a nice chin-wag for a bit.

I then searched totally without any success for me multi-point Sim card attachment for the laptop, the one I’d used  three hours ago! After over an hour of searching I gave up. Oh dear…

Updated this diary to here, then waited to hear from BJ.

BJ arrived, returned me done service-laundry (£15.99) and set too helping me sort the bags out, and he not only took bags to the bins, but lifted me to the computer shop, where they didn’t have any multi-card reader (shame) and then to the Nottingham Hospice shop with the bags, heater, TV and DVDs. Unfortunately, the lady said they cannot accept or sell TVs? So BJ ran us to the Sue Ryder shop and they accepted it.

Got a call from the nurses, the Anoxaparin was to be stopped – as me last INR test had improved. So nobody will be calling who I can have natter with – Huh!

IMG_0004Then back to the flea-pit and BJ spent hours helping me sort a corner out.

During which it suddenly hailed in bucketfuls.

By now I was done in physically but still wanted to get a multi-card reader to replace the one that had magically disappeared.

So when BJ left, saying he’s try to get here tomorrow afternoon and help some more, I thanked him and set off for the bus-stop to go into town and Jessop’s camera shop.

IMG_0005Damned decent chap is BJ.

One of the best, bless him.

As I waked along the hail that had fallen for a few minutes had turned into snow.

Down Church Drive over the pelican crossing and down to the bus-stop.

I soon caught a bus into the City Centre. Got off on Milton Street and walked on to cross the lights into Clumber Street.

IMG_0006The famous Nottinghomian’s again proving there determination to ignore the Walk Don’t walk lights at all costs.

I popped into the Jessop’s shop anf got the multi-card reader – same model as the one I lost.

It was getting late now and I was getting more tired than ever – but as I passed some noshery or other – the smell of the food made me hungry again.

IMG_0008When I got on the bus I took a photo of a building housing shops, and mighty fine workmanship and design too. Erected in 1901 the plaque said.

When I got off the bus in Carrington the smell from the Greek fish &chip shop even smelt nice… well, not as repugnant as it usually does like.

The rain began starting as I got to the flea-pit.

I cooked me nosh and made a cuppa.

IMG_0010Then ate me nosh – bet yer can’t guess what all the ingredients were from this photographicalisation wot I dun?

Clues?: American… root, toms, beet, leaves, two kind of pot’s?

I’m so glad to be eating again.

Did some Facebooking and got me head down – now to see if me mind let’s me sleep Hehe!

Mon 18.5.15: Inchcock Today – Not good, but I’m sure it’ll get worse…

Monday 18th May 2015

Woke up with a jump and racing mind: Got nurse coming in for last ( I hope) Anoxaparin injection – then must go to GP ask about is it safe to take St Peters Wort with other medications? (Which I forgot to do) – Look at BP readings on me record list (Which I forgot to do) – find out last INR reading from Friday, get new dosage, have new INR test – try to get some packing done – Contact BJ re asking for help with moving stuff… the mind spins.

Bleeding from little Inch lesion not so bad this morning. Feeling nervous about everything I think of – what’s a matter with me I asked myself – again, no answer came the reply. Tsk!

Did me tests: Sys 149, Dia 85, Pulse 72, Temp 32.1

WC’d, no blood from the rear end. Stomach churning a tad.

IMG_0253Went to start laptop and found I’d left it on. Huh!

Took photo from window – raining heavily.

Checked emails for anything from hospital, doctors, housing or authorities – nowt there.

The tummy calmed down a bit now.

Put water heater on and Facebooked a while waiting for it to heat up. Then titivated myself and went down to make a cuppa and wait the arrival of the District Nurse.

Bent down to pick up some stuff from one of the many piles of ‘notyetsorted’ rubbish and started the back off again… I’m getting frustrated now, and querulous with life.

District nurses twice a day, INR tests, Clinic visits, sorting out not getting done, bleeding from front and rear end, Anne Gyna not happy… me mind racing confusedly on its own accord… not a confident or happy chappie at the moment. Hey-ho!

Sorted a few things out into bags.

Made a cuppa and pot of porridge, and continued waiting for the arrival of the nurse – daring not to move in case I miss her, again nowt much got done in the packing and sorting department of the hovel, but I managed a couple of black bags.

IMG_0261The District Nurse arrived and soon had me injected.

I collected me notes of what to ask the medical person about when I arrived at the Sherringham Medical Practise Surgery, and set off on my poddle to the surgery.

Feeding a few pigeons that came IMG_0254down to have their breakfast on the road outside.

It was a bit gloomy and drizzly this morning, and I still felt so unnaturally tired it bothered me a bit.

Down and into the surgery the receptionist gave me the INR results and new dosages – the level had improved from 1.3 to 1.9 but they said I still have to continue with the Enoxaparin injections.

And gave me a prescription to have filled in at the Pharmacy for 10 filled syringes, which means five more days worth at least, and there is still two left in the box from the last sessions.

Also I had to make an appointment with the surgery nurse to have INR level test done on the 18th May – I pointed out that it is the 18th today – she made me an appointment with the nurse for 1315hrs today. Busy again!

IMG_0262Out into the rain and had a walk down to the Chemist to have me prescription filled.

As usual they did not have sufficient stock to hand and gave me seven syringes telling me to return tomorrow afternoon for the other three. (No rest fer the wicked eh?)

I called into the launderette next door and spoke with Mandy asking her how much it would cost to have a service wash done tomorrow, if I could get in touch with BJ to ask him if he could get the wash there and collect it afterwards?

IMG_0263She took a photo of me flabby-belly for me.

It’s amazing how quickly the marks (on the right in the photo but actually on me left) from yesterday had died-down so quickly.

I plodded back to the flea-pit and was still amazed at how tired I felt. Must be a side effect of the drug mixing with me regular ones surely?

I had another dizzy-spell when I got up off the stool to see what nosh I had in the freezer to have tonight for me nosh and crashed down back on it starting me blind-boil hurting again! Tsk, Huh and Gobbledinnash!

Still, I have an American pulled-pork and potatoes ready-meal in there I might have tonight. If I ever feel hungry.

I tried to do some clearing up, no sooner had I bent down a couple of times the angina started again, bad.

So there I was just beginning to feel a tad sorry for missen and I had a call to the porcelain – Crickey the blood! The lesion on me little Inch was pouring, took me ages to get it down to a leak and not flow – so I’m sat here now covered in paper towels with crossed fingers – if it don’t stop soon I’ll have to ring for help.

It seems to have stopped I hope, but it took ages to do so.

I do feel sorry for missen now! Huh!

Set the alarm in the event that I can nod-off for a bit and make sure I’m up for when the District Nurse calls between 1900 and 2200 hrs.

A chap from Age UK rang to say he’s call on Wednesday to see me about assistance with moving. (IF I get the flat).

Can’t eat or sleep it seems now – might as well try reading me book.

Got me laundry things half ready for tomorrow. Hoping that BJ will call.

I went down and made a cup of tea and waited for the nurse to arrive.

IMG_0265Three hours later she came – a Scottish gal, very patient and kind and did me medicationalisationing on me left side tonight for me.

We had a char and she said she’d send in a report telling them I needed help bless her cotton socks.

Late now, still not hungry, tired mind, but can I drop off? No! Double Tsk!

Sun 17.5.15: Inchcock Today

Sunday 17th May 2015

07top

Managed to get off to kip about 0415hrs.

Up at 0700hrs to get ready for the district nurse’s visitation for me injection.

IMG_0245

The morning sky

My dreams seemed to have been all about people in a long line queuing up to bollock me, tell me off or lambast me on a great range of topics and faults and failures? Hundreds of them, some I recognised others strangers. The last dream I was starting work at a small busy railway station in military uniform of some sort – always queues all day and night, off procedures to do that seemed normal but nothing like the actual duties that would be carried out at such a place, think I enjoyed it.

Haemorrhoids and the Inch lesion bleeding this morning. However the blind-boil was less painful.

IMG_0246
Fatima, Fred and Ferdinand having breakfast this morning

Fed Fatima Fred and Ferdinand who popped down for breakfast when I was taking the rubbish out to the bin.

The District Nurse came and done me. Young gal this time.

I had a look at me previous few INR results out of no particular interest like. 3.5 is me target level: 1.5 – 3.4 – 2.9 – 2.9 – 2.4 – 3.3 – 1.2 – 1.3 – 1.3 the nurses are coming again tonight and then in the morning to do the last Anoxaparin injections – no notification yet from the hospital or doctors about when me next INR test is to be, or what me last one was?

I keep up going from perky to down so quickly, the slightest thing, put-down or failure and the gloom descends. I must mention this to the GP when I go for me next INR level test. It’s never been like this, so up and down to the depths so changeable so quickly before. Perhaps it’s a side-effect of the Anoxaparin?

Made a cuppa and took medications.

Started to do some sorting of the rubbish at last – but the dizzies came on again and I went over luckily falling on a pile of bagged clothes waiting to go to the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop.

Did me BP tests: Sys 178 Dia 90 Puls 82 Temp 34.2

Jillywin2A high reading today, this might be why the dizzies came on when I started bending up and down? Going to do some computing to relax and calm down and hope I don’t fall asleep.

Did some graphics for the TFZer gals, despite Coreldraw9 repeatedly PMCpccrashing and having to restart the laptop, I didn’t let it get me going this time, thought about me blood-pressure see.

Made a flask of tea and started on with this here diary.

COM Andy1Visited the porcelain and found the little Inch bleeding again, very dark red this time.

Due I imagine to the low level of me INR or maybe the Anoxaparin medications.

COM GladysOr would the high blood pressure make it coloured so deeply?

Hey-ho, I hope I can nod off and get some kip before the night nurse calls.

Wonder what to have for nosh today?

PCsusanI’ll surprise missen. Hehe!

Did a search for me glasses that I er… misplaced last week.

No luck at all.

Hey-ho!

IMG_0249Got the nosh ready… Roast potatoes, garden peas and braised beef in onion gravy.

Mucho goodo too!

I rate this nosh at 8/10!

Followed it with two blackcurrant and ice-cream frozen lollies.

IMG_0248When I had a wash and brush-up I checked out me latest bruises from the injections.

I thought the photograph came out looking like a piece of contemporary art?

Did some more updating on this diary.

I managed to make a few bags of ‘Getridof’ stuff – but how I’m going them to the Hospice shop I don’t know yet.

0701It was pitch black-dark when the District Nurse arrived – she did me second syringe of Anoxaparin on the other side of flabbadob belly and shot off, I was her last client… her very tired last client!

She said I had to have one more in the morning and then go see the GP to find out what the INR level was last Friday and then have another test done.

Somehow I stayed awake to finish this dairy off here.

Oh dear, I feel a warm wet glow from me nether regions… I’ll check, hang on please…

Huh! – bleeding Inch again.

Cleaned missen up and applied some of me Betamethasone cream.

Nightie night folks.
