Fri 1st April 2016 Inchcock Today: Spring has Sprunged, and the drying machine got bunged!

01 meandGriz

Friday 1st /April 2006

Woke late for me, around 0500hrs – still feeling tired? Recalled bits of the dreams but nothing concrete, just that they were not nice.

Tried to remember things I wanted to do for today, last night; take my number for Norman to use, visit BJ see him or post his photographs through his letter box, get the laundry done and one other thing; but what was it?

Visited the WC, made a cup of tea, took the medications, and still couldn’t recall the other thing. Tsk!

Not in good spirits this morning for some reason? I seemed to have more questions than answers milling about my mind.

Finished the post for yesterday then started this one off.

Got the laundry prepared and in the bag ready.

Had a wash and brush-up, got the change for the laundry room machines and poddled down with some nibbles in my pocket in case I saw anyone.

Got the one washing available machine going, and sat to do the crosswords in the foyer. Some residents came through and out to catch the bus, had a quick gossip with some of them.

Lily came down to sit and wait for her visitor. She asked if I’d got any food for her. (Bless her) I gave her some from my pocket. Being as I was going to have to go up to the toilet anyway, I told her I’d bring her an easter egg down.

She then told me her daughter and son in law visited her yesterday and now she can’t find £120 she had hidden in her wardrobe? Poor Lily, she does get confused with things, but she told me they had stolen from her in the past.

I said if I saw Deana the flats coordinator I’d let her know. Went up and toileted and back down with the Easter Egg for Lily. Met three ladies in the lift, and handed out the last three Kinder bars for them to have among themselves.

P1050977Gave Lily her Easter Egg and checked on the washing machine progress. Odd machine this one, the time left was at 20 min when I put it in, then it went up to 40 min, now it was showing 55 mins?

Back up to the WC again. Back down, Gerri the contact lady was in the lobby. I got the very wet clothes out of washing machine and into the dryer.

P1050979Told Gerri about the draughts still in the kitchen and she said she’d report it again.

When the dryer had completed its cycle – the clothes were still almost wet, let alone damp! Gerri had a look. Put it back on again, more time lost and expense. Did some crosswords, with the help of Gerri and some residents as they came and went.

After the second cycle on the dryer, the clothes seemed okay. Took them up and into the airing cupboard to make sure. Over three hours the laundry took me, Humph!

No time to get to BJ’s house, so I’ll take them (The photos) in the morning.

P1050982Updated this and got some fodder on. Decided on petit-pois, boiled potatoes and crispy battered chicken lumps.

Very nice, rated this one at a decent 8.9/10. Feeling drained a bit now?

Feeling drained a bit now?Went to the bathroom and oh dear;

Took the medications and fell asleep for a bit. Waking up with wetness and a painful tingling sensation from Little Inchy. This reminded me that I’d forgotten to ring the clinic about my missed appointment on Monday. Went to the bathroom to investigate and oh dear; Blood all over the underpants and legs. Hell of a job getting it to stop. Not good, but partly my own fault for missing the session at the clinic.

Felt a bit depressed then, and tried to read my book, but no concentration available.

Got the TV on but spent more time falling asleep and missing stuff, then the wet sensation again from the below, once more to the bathroom, this time, the haemorrhoids joined in with the bleeding, made a right mess of the WC bowl.

Got my head down but struggled to get to sleep. I put the TV back on, and that did it, I was off. But only for an hour or so. Tried reading some of the Sniper autobiography eventually getting off again around 0130hrs, waking up at 0500hrs.  Drained, Tsk!

Inchcock Today – Tue 29 Mar 16: Whoopsiedangleplop ending to the day, Tsk!

01W03a

Apart from not being able to get a free washing machine in the laundry room! Hehehe!

Tuesday 29 March 2016

Woke up after an hours kip at around 0335hrs, mind racing.

Recalled bits of a dream, but nothing like I remembered yesterday’s dream. Odd that how I can remember only vague themes and pieces, then on the rare mornings like yesterday, I remember such a lot?

To the porcelain, but the kettle on and took the medications.

P1050950

0340hrs – All is well!

This photograph on the left, I took as I entered the kitchen. First

turning off the flash to avoid reflections.

Then could I remember how to turn it back on – huh! Still it came back to me when I realised which camera I was using. Hehe!

Both have different controls and I do get confused with them you know. Hehehe!

P1050929I must remember to tell the nurse about my new bruises today at the INR blood test session. I’ve got a new one since taking this photograph. A mystery to me these are.

Oh, and the black patch near my right ear-hole too. I’m sure that is another spot of skin cancer, it looks just like the last ones did.

And, as well as and besides that, I must remember I’ve got the dentist tomorrow for the two fillings and two canal procedures. I’m still not sure what canal procedures are, but someone did tell me ‘Painfull’ when I asked them if they knew. Oh dearie me!

I heard a loud noise coming from somewhere inside the flats I thought, went to investigate and noticed a sign informing us of another tenant passing away. Cheered me up that did. Tsk! No signs of anything untoward, no idea what the noise was?

Did a bit of Facebooking and checked the emails. Then finished Monday’s diary off and posted it.

I received a reply from my request to ‘Grammarly’ asking for how to set the default checker to Casual Style.

01W03

This feature is not available, and I will have to continue changing the style everytime I do a check.

DuncBatGCI got an email from my mate Duncan from Birmingham.

He kindly sent me a new photograpicalisation of his Grand-Daughter Seren.

She is all wrapped up well for going out.

The sweetest looking gorgeous gal. I fell in love with her just seeing her pictures. Those eyes, are going to set a few hearts going later?

P1050951Got a quick wash and shaved ready for the Morrisons delivery of fodder.

Red sky in the morning – Shepherds Warning! It was a little dank looking, but at least, it isn’t raining for my hobble to the Surgery for the INR blood test.

Awaited the arrival of Mr Morrison. He was nearly an hour late but never mind.

Put the nosh away, and stored the Easter Eggs for the Social Hour, in the bedroom.

I rang BJ to see if he enjoyed Sunday’s outing, and ask him if he can call sometime to pick out the photographs he wants so I can get them printed off.

He said he would come later after I’d done the clinic and INR blood test.

Made a cuppa, updated this and sorted the photo’s onto a stick in readiness for when (If) BJ arrives.

Carried out my ablutions and sorted then took the rubbish bags to the chute.

P1050952Set off for the Clinic and surgery. A third of the way there and the rain pelted down and the wind blew as I hobbled up Mansfield Road.

I stopped to let a van put onto the main road, I thought I’d take a photograph from underneath the umbrella.

A bus came past and soaked me jeans and shoes, thus legs and feet as it careered through the running puddle running down the gutter. Tsk!

Onward to the surgery booked in and had a good read of my ‘damp-in-parts’, Sniper book.

The nurse fetched me in and did the blood test, had a look at the bruises and told me to book an appointment with the doctor.

Gave her the nibbles and departed for a walk into Carrington and called at the chemist and got my extra prescription for the cream.

Then to Lidl, where I bought some bits.

P1050953As I left and waited for the bus, the sky looked a bit nasty again.

Caught the bus to Sherwood and I walked through Woodthorpe Grange Park, back to the flats.

There were a good few dogs for me to watch, they were walking their owners and refusing to return the balls thrown by them. Hehe!

P1050955Another Nottingham Pavement Cyclist shot by me and weaved between the other pedestrians.

But if course it didn’t bother me!

01W04

The scumball sadistic nasty piece of imitation human slob!

P1050954At the top of the hill, I took a photo of the old trees I fell in love with last month again.

There something admirable about how they continue to fight each year against the elements and Nottingham vandals.

Down the slippery gravel and mud footpath and into the flat.

P1050956It was close to 1430hrs and BJ’s ETA. Mind you he did say about 1430hrs, with BJ you can give an allowance a day or two either way. Haha! Some mail had been delivered. So I got the purchases put away

So I got the purchases put away and tackled the mail.

Only one for me, from the Nottingham City Council – The Council Tax Bill, informing me I owed the £1180.72, it had gone up by 3.7%. Bless them. The others were for the previous tenant.

Cup of tea and got the laptop on to update this.

BJ rang 1450hrs, he’ll be here in ABOUT 15 minutes.

01W01 Hehe!

Checked the emails and did a little Facebooking.

BLJ4BJ arrived at 1510hrs.

He was looking healthy and fit. I made two strong cups of tea and we had a chinwag about this and that.

He chose the photographs he wanted to have printed.

I made a list and placed it in my jacket pocket so as not to lose it, and know I’d have it on me when I could get to Asda to have them printed.

After BJ had departed, saying he might attend this week’s Social Hour with me, I set about getting the meal ready.

P1050957Having bought the Frikadellens I could not resist having some.

Cottage bread, seasoned chopped tomatoes, Frikadellens and BBQ pork sausages.

Followed by a pot of mandarins in jelly.

So tasty it was. Rated this as an 8.94/10.

I felt a bit cheered by his visit and began to perk up a little: This was when I realised I’d not attended the Clinic Appointment!  Whoopsie

I soon lost my bit of confidence and turned back into a miserable blob of fretting and nervousness.

I must ring them in the morning to apologise… Again!

Sleep was hard to acquire, and Gawd knows what time I nodded off.

Piffledamnation!

Inchcock Today Bank Holiday Monday 2016: Worra Dream!

Bank Holiday Monday 28 March 2016

01W06Boy, what a sensational dream filled night that was! I seemed to have slept and dreamt the whole way through for seven hours. I cannot recall getting seven hours kip in one night for years. I felt it was all one dream too, not the usual mish-mash of bits.

I got out of my broken 1959 imitation brown leather armchair, scribbled some note of memories of the dream, put the kettle on, visited the porcelain (hard work and painful visit) then took the medications with the cuppa.

Straight onto the laptop and started to get this diary started and record the fantastic yet zany dream. I made a graphic to show in support of my poorly chosen words. While creating this, I decided to make a post out of the dream memories.

The backdrop: I was being sat down at a desk in a chair in a room with no doors other than a lift door, sat across from someone I knew, who gave me an answer to a question, then I got in the lift to the next identical room up, and this process seemed to go on all night.

I set about creating the post with the aid of my notes, it took me a few hours to get it all sorted and posted off.

DSC00172 P1050948

The weather had turned rather rainy, to say the least. I hoped it would knock some of the dirt from the outside of the kitchen window; then I might be able (If the rain stops long enough) to get them cleaned easier.

P1050947I had a bit of luck then and found the plastic strainer I lost a few days ago.

I remembered as soon as I reached up to get the Microfibre cloth and noticed it up on top of the cupboard, where I must have left it after cleaning it and leaving it there to drain over the kitchen sink.

Never thought I’d find that after many failed searches over the last week. Huh!

No buses again today, and the rain isn’t encouraging me to get out and about. And I must get a super scrub and soak in the bath today! I’m in need of it, I just rubbed my chin and nearly cut my fingers on the stubble too!C

I had hoped to get to Asda (Walmart) soon, to get some photographs printed so I could send them off to Brother Pete in Hong Kong. Don’t know about buses for tomorrow, nor if Asda will be open then, it being Bank Holiday Monday? I’ll have a search on Google, hang on a bit, please.

Ah, Asda is open, now I’ll see about the buses for Monday.

No Doctors Surgery, cause I’ve got my appointment for the INR blood test on Tuesday this week.

Shame, no L9 buses again on Monday. Tsk!

I’ll do some FaceBooking now I think. After a while, I got involved in searching for and transferring photographs to save to a folder so they would be easy to find later, for getting them printing for Duncan, BJ and the tenants at the Social hour. Very complicated searching through so many files and SHD cards. In the middle of doing this, my old mate Trevor got in touch on messenger. So glad to hear from him, but what a time for him to call. Hehe! When we were communicating the Fire Alarm went off and I had to leave it. No fire noticed, but no brigade attended either. I wondered if it was another alarm that I didn’t know about? Walked through the flats but no one in sight, and no one outside?

Back to the photo-sorting. But it took hours longer to get sorted, as I had lost where I was and had to start doing it from scratch again to avoid missing any or duplicating. Humph!

The rain stopped suddenly, and the winds got up – howling through the vents and holes in the wall.

P1050949I got the lamb shank in the saucepan and simmering away, and warmed the oven up ready for the chips to go in. Put the peas in the small saucepan to warm through later.

The fodder came out alright.

Rated this one at 9.35/10. A bit of a hiatus when cleaning up the pots like though. Dropped the dish and made a right mess! Humph!

Then did my ablutions and bath, much needed I might add. Felt better.

Smelling perfumed and clean, I settled to watch some TV. There seemed a lot of programmes on tonight that I wanted to watch, all at the same time. Kept changing my mind and the channels.

Realised that not only was I nodding off frequently and missing the plots but it was now 0230hrs!

As I turned off the TV, I could not remember the times of tomorrow’s Medicalisational things, so I put on the laptop and checked on the Google calendar and found; Morrisons delivery 0730>0830, Clinic 0930hrs and INR blood tests 1035hrs. I made sure I put the Anticoagulation Record in my pocket so as not to forget to take it with me. I must remember to tell the nurse about the new bruises near the reflux valve too.

Must have nodded off around 0300hrs.

Jumped awake at 0335hrs! Humph and Tut!

Inchcock: His weirdest dream yet – Answers to questions not asked?

Definitely Inchock’s Weirdest Dream yet!

01W06The backdrop: I was being sat down at a desk in a chair in a room with no doors other than a lift door, sat across from someone I knew, who gave me an answer to a question, but did not mention what the actual query was?

Then I got into the lift, up to the next floor and into a similar room, with another person I knew or had known. This process seemed to be repeated with different answers to other queries I’m thought about over the years.

It felt like this went on all through my sleeping hours and I slept and dreamt for over six hours. A rarity for me to kip that long, and no waking up for trips to the porcelain either.

I got the feeling that I was going through some preparatory process on my way to hell, but oddly, this didn’t seem to bother me in the slightest?

Here are the answers, given to me that I can recall: Not in any particular order, just as I recalled them I wrote them down.

Answer:

“No, they are not all born equal, but of course, you knew this!”

Answer:

“Yes, it was your fault, you are too gullible that’s why!”

Answer:

“I think you always knew you would see the end of the world, what you would call ‘The Great Equaliser.”

Answer:

“You understood why she had to, and wish you had had the guts to explained why to her. You will pay for this when your croak out and have to account for your actions.”

Answer:

“No, never, Hehehe!”

Answer:

“Oh no, nearly being a virgin is not sufficient!”

Answer:

“Deaths and the responses of earthly beings have no bearing on the future death of the universes.”

Answer:

“Marmite is better than Vegemite, but don’t tell any Australians you might find quartered with when you get to heaven!”

Answer:

“You could have looked this up on the internet instead of wasting you preparatory assessors time, we are busy you know!”

Answer:

“Of course, it is not fair that you should have been dealt such a small attachment, but it is proof that the Lord has a sense of humour!”

Answer:

“No, never. Shame really.”

Answer:

“Would you?”

I think there were hundreds of more answers that were given to me.

In between the ‘Answer Rooms’, I had little chance to ponder on what the question before was to the answer given me. Bodies appeared from nowhere and they bundled me into the lift, up to the next ‘Answer Room’.

I noted that my walking stick was changing colour in each room, multicoloured for some of them, and wanted to ask someone why. Each time I tried to ask the bodies, the dream seemed to start over again?

After waking in the morning, as the day went on, I kept remembering the odd other answer given in the dream.

Really, the oddest dream yet?

Inchcock Today Tue 16 Feb 16: Pavement Cyclist attack. Well, almost!

01W01aSue reports for jury duty as ordered, and promptly asks to be excused because she believes she’s prejudice. “I took one look at those shifty eyes and that cheap polyester suit and I immediately knew that he was guilty as sin!” she tells the judge.

“Sit down,” says the judge.

“That’s the defence lawyer!”

Tuesday 16 February 2016

Up at 0315hrs. To the bathroom.

A bit of bleeding from Inchy, but the back passage piles were okay.

I got on with doing the diary, then took me medications with a cuppa.

01W01a

I did this graphic above for my ‘Symmetry of Life’ post. Just another load of my waffling on about life in general. Then finished off the rhyme and posted that off.

Got a wash and change, all ready for the Asda delivery to arrive.

I split the Country loaf into two halves, put mine in the freezer and the other half in a bag for the gals (Coordinators) at the Winwood Community Shed.

When the delivery comes, I’ll take it down to them.

Made another cuppa, and started this diary going.

I rang BJ to see how he was; he was at the laundry. I told him about my intention to attend the Coffee Morning at the Winwood Community Hut and informed him I’d ask if he could come along to have a natter as well.

Asda delivered the bits, and I set off to the Community shed. Took the recycle box down with me and left it outside the caretakers rooms outside.

Deana and Obergruppenfurher Julie were both in the shed, busy as usual bless them.

Gave them their Country bread and an Easter egg. Had a little gossip and returned to the flats. Asked what time the Coffee Mornings were on Thursdays, and if BJ could come along with me. He’d be welcome, so that’s good.

Back to number 72, and rang BJ to tell him he would be esteemed to come along to the meeting on Thursday. He said he’d try to get here for 1015hrs.

Continued this diary after making another good strong cup of tea. An hour and a bit to go now, until I must set-off on me walk to the surgery for me Warfarin INR blood test, and have me torn muscle looked at.

So instead of getting involved in doing my graphicalisationing, I played on Spider Solitaire for a while.

Set off for the limp to the Doctors. Damned cold outside, although it looks sunny enough.

I called in the health food store in Sherwood en route, to get some Lemon Scones and Coconut crusties for the surgery staff because I’d forgotten to take their nibbles with me.

Got to the doctors with a lot less pain and hassle than of late from the leg.

The nurse soon got my blood taken, managing a little natter while she was doing it.

NCCwalk01Out into the sunshine and cold, (odd day) and caught a bus into town.

To the slab square and caught a tram to Hucknall.

I stood first in line at the last of the mounting points to get on the tram when it arrived.

When it did come, the more nimble and aggressive Nottinghomians shot by me, and I was about the last person to get on! Swines!

NCCwalk02The “Have You Paid” inspectors got on at the Theatre Royal, and three passengers were ejected from the tram for none-payment. Which pleased me greatly, because all three had been part of those who forced their way passed and ahead of me getting on. (Smugness overcame me!)

Whistling to myself now.

We got into Hucknall, and I made the rather long walk from the trams platform, across the Park & Ride car park, up the road and across another into Tesco’s car park, through that and into the store.ow

I got some Irish Potatoe Thins, small potatoes and vegemite. ow

On the way back going through the car park, taking the pedestrian red route as painted on the ground, a teenage scallywag came from behind and swerved very closely around me at speed on his bicycle. It shook me a bit and I shouted out “Git!” at him. He pulled up and looked back at me. Gave me the finger, and shot off at speed again. Tsk!

NCCwalk04Onto the tram and returned to Nottingham. At the Forest Recreation Ground Park & Ride, I saw the tent for the Russin State Circus.

It looked in the photo as if it was in the middle of the car park. Hehe!

I dropped off at the Theatre Royal. I checked the time, and I had half an hour to kill before the last L9 bus from Queen Street departed.

NCCwalk03So I had a walk around Trinity Square and took some photographs.

As I walked through the posh eatery section, all the tables and chairs outside together, and I estimated there were around 150 chairs all-together between them all. There was less than a dozen folk using them all told.

P1050003I took some photographicalisations of some ‘Bling’ for the gals on the TFZ Facebook page.

Made my way to the bus-stop and awaited the arrival of the L9 electric bus.

A rarity today, it came and went on time.

I struggled a bit, not to nod-off en route.

The leg was stinging a bit now, I made my way up to the flat and visited the porcelain without delay.

The usual feeling of fatigue came over me.

NCCwalk05I made me nosh. And it was very nice.

Low-fat Cumberland sausages, BBQ chicken bits, beetroot, small potatoes, chestnut mushrooms and potato cakes.

Having had to use two saucepans and the oven to get this ready, the washing up took a while. Haha!

A blackcurrant jelly to follow.

After that, the typical struggle to stay awake ensued. Then I gave up the idea of reading and got my head down.

Well, I say I got my head down, agreed I did get my head down, but could I get off to sleep? No! Kept waking up every ten minutes it seemed to me.

I gave up again around one o’clock and got up.

TSK!

Thr 14.5.15: Inchcock Today: Enoxaparin into ticker – by lovely nurse!

Thursday 14th May 2015

DaveBeen dreaming of me medications last night, it seems I was using them in a meal of seaweed and sausages? But I couldn’t find the vinegar and was very miffed with this and was stopping people in the street searching them for me bottle of vinegar – why I was cooking over a candle or in the street I don’t know. That’s all I can remember.

GP surgery this morning to make appointment for my extra INR Warfarin level test and sort the message I got from them out.

Then will be doing only clearing out and up until I’m too fatigued or run out of room to store stuff ready to go.

Did me checks: Sys 148, Dia 79, Pulse 76, Temp 35.2c

They all look alright to me. Took me dedications.

No WC visit yet! Mmm?

0735hrs: Going to get ready for GP now, I’ll get back to yers after I’ve done some cleaning. TTFN.

IMG_02081055hrs: Well I’m back – but had to struggle back with the bag of bags of stuff for the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop, because of an unplanned change of plans like at the GPs.

Oh me poor feet – hehe.

I poddled down to the surgery IMG_0205(Arrived with me bags at 0825hrs) and asked for an appointment for tomorrow (Fri) like to have me Warfarin test done as their emails instructed me to – one receptionist said they don’t do them on a Friday, the other said they did. After consultations with the GP they gave me an appointment for tomorrow at 0930 hrs.

Then they told me the doctor has only just got the details of the hospitals request for me to have the Enoxaparin jabs. And she needs to sort out what levels I was supposed to be having.

The rather gorgeous GP called me in and we went through some details. Then she asked me to wait in the waiting room while she saw some other patients then she’d find out where to ring to attain the dosage level for me and call me back in.

I got me crossword book out and spent a while having a go at them – ajnd the GP appeared asking me for me Anticoagulation Alert Card for the details, she returned to her surgery, and I got back to me crosswords.

Later the receptionist gave me back me Alert Card.

The GP called me back into the surgery and she explained that she had arranged for a district nurse to call twice today to give me the 80mg shots of the medication around midday and then again later. So I must get myself to the chemist for the syringes to be dispensed from the prescription she gave me and then home and stay there for the rest of the day so as not to miss the nurse, and after she had been to remain near a phone in case of allergic any reactions.

IMG_0207So off to the chemists and got me prescription filled for the 7 Enoxaparin filled Syringes.

Got another pack of St Johns Wort essence, being as I could see they only had one pack left on display.

Rang me brother in law while waiting to see how he and sister Jane were doing, they have both been feeling poorly.

They’re both feeling a bit better, so that cheered me up a bit. Disappointed in not getting rid of some bags of stuff to the Hospice though – everything seems to be stopping me getting on with sorting things out at the flea-pit lately. Tsk!

IMG_0206Walked back through the twitchell and the pigeons came down for their breakfast as I got to the dump.

Scared to go up to the WC in case I missed the nurse – Mmm!

Tried to access Gmail but the laptop wouldn’t let me for some reason?

Did a bit of sorting, not a lot only the tiniest bit – I’ll have another go after the nurse has paid her first visit methinks – that is if I feel up to it and none of the possible side effects the GP spoke of affects me – all go and get nowt done here innit?

I’ve just looked up possible side effects:

What lotta of em! The ones I’ve already got from the other medications have got an * asterix next to em. The onlt reason I copied them here is the number of them surprised me – afterwards I looked up some side effects if some of me other medications and realised this list is not so long after all. Puzzling int it? Hehehe!

If any of the following side effects continue, are bothersome or if you have any questions about them, check with your health care professional.

I feel a bit less down today, despite me best laid plans being sent to pot again?

Knuckled down to do some paperwork sorting for three hours.

Obvious now the nurse isn’t calling at lunchtime then? She’s probably up to her neck in it. Maybe she can get the evening visit in. I can’t nip to the surgery to have the nurse there do me injection into me ticker cause I might miss the nurse coming to do the injection into me ticker… mouthful that!

Did me tablet box’s up, took about an hour this time – and realised because of taking all the extra Warfarins I was getting a bit short on em like, I wont run out but will if they increase me dosages tomorrow. I think me monthly medications should be ready about now – and I foolishly forgot to ask when I was in there earlier getting the Enoxaparin syringes… Tsk and Huh!

Getting weary now.

Started the laptop – on third try! No windows on first two attempts (Oh I hate the Bill Gates!) Windows updates came in when I closed down earlier? I got a message when in eventually loaded telling that my windows updater was out of date and offering to upgrade it if I clicked here? No identification of who the message was coming from? I declined, being unsure like. Anyone else had this message please?

Started to update the diary.

Well I still can’t move out to get me medications or go to the doctors for me injection cause the nurse hasn’t made it to me yet – and I am suffering cause I dare not go up to use the porcelain throne for fear of missing her… or him. It’s understandable because she/he will have her/his regulars to tend to.

The Nurses came, two bonnie beauties with a good understanding attitude.

The gave me a jab in the ticker and left me with one syringe for the GP surgery nurse Obergruppenführer Herr Goebbels to use in the morning when I go for me INR level tests.

They interrogated me mildly and gently with many questions and then did a tour of the house to assess how I was coping… or not coping.

They even left me contact numbers for them and said that one of them would be round tomorrow about 1530hrs if needed, to give me another injection, bless them.

I shot off to the chemist to get  some Liver oil capsules and find out when me medications would be ready for this month.

Back soon folks!

IMG_0209Got to chemists and bought me capsules and they said the medications would be ready tomorrow afternoon. On impulse on the way back I noticed the Chinese take-away was open and nipped in and got a nosh.

Got back to the bomb-site and demolished the sweet and sour pork and chips meal. Gorgeous!

Then onto the porcelain – and there I stayed for an hour! A side effect of the medication or the meal? Painful and slow evacuation achieved.

Started to finish this diary… Fell asleep with the laptop still on… finihed and posted it in the morning.

Hey-ho!

 IMG_0156Decent kip – WC’d tests done:

Sys 159 Dia 159 Puls 104 Temp 33.2

Got things ready for walk into town to meet with Pete who was to give me a mystery tour?

The moon was still visible in the sky at 0845hrs.

The usual pavement cyclists were suffered en route into the City Centre.

IMG_0158IMG_0157There were actually more than photographed here, but they
were too quick for me to catch on camera.

Met Pete and he guided me to the bus stop for the Route 100 Pathfinder bus.

IMG_0159 I could see on the information read out that this bus went to Southwell, a route of about 16 or so miles.

Thank heavens for the pensioners free bus-pass!

The weather was behaving but the bouncy bus made me waste a few shots that blurred a bit.

IMG_0161As we left Carlton we went under the Searing Hill bridge – so sad that no trains use it nowadays.

Going into Burton Joyce brought back many memories of me Co-op working days, and some of the houses Pete helped build still stood!

Gave us cause for a natter or two that did.

IMG_0162On and toward Lowdham island and through the village.

More memories evoked for both of us.

IMG_0163The sky was looking good as we left the village of Thurgarton.

I asked Pete what the mystery trip was about?

He said he was planning to do a 10 mile Nottingham Walk as advertised in the Nottingham Post and we were going to the starting point so he would know where is was next week when he went on it.

Oh good I thought.

We carried on (Well the bus did) and arrived at IMG_0167the outskirts of Southwell.

Through Brackenhurst Campus, the Dumbells, the Ropewalk then the terminus Norwood Gardens, Southwell.

IMG_0168Proof that the bus was driving within the speed limit showing near the junction of our destination.

Pete got out his Ordnance Survey map and his compass and scale rule for his map out and we were off down the main street, Lower Kirklington Road.

Pete soon identified the leafy lane we were to walk down and again got out his paraphernalia and assessed it was 1.8 miles to the car park he was IMG_0169looking for (The start point of the 10 mile Walk).

He encouraged me to carry on and ignore me arthritis and angina.

It really was a nice day, we plodded on, finding a concealed area for a wee-wee in the trees.

Just in time as some horse-riders appeared coming in the other direction on the narrow footpath.

IMG_0170I assumed it was a lady rider as Pete got out his mobile to take a photo and I got my camera out and took one of him taking one of her if yer ee wot I mean like?

The knees were giving me some gip now.

IMG_0173

As we passed under an old railway bridge Pete found it on his map and showed considerable interest in the fancy brickwork I pointed out to him.

IMG_0172We came across a small beck near the next bridge and this reminded Pete of his young days a-wandering around the area as like wot he did.

Eventually, weary and tired we arrived at the aforesaid car park that Pete wanted to find.

A sign indicated we had 3 miles to walk to get back to Southwell!

Oh Good I thought…

Made my day that did – Hehe.

IMG_0174I broke out the nibbles and tried to look at the old railway station that was there many years ago.

Pete took me around the back and we saw the old Station-Master’s house was still in use – modernised and that like.

Ah, memories.

IMG_0171Pete pointed out the route, and we backtracked to the bus-stop in Southwell.

The bus arrived and we departed on our way back into Nottingham.

A little further on we passed the famous Saracens Head public house.

A long history that place has. It filled its useful purpose as an Inn to 5th May, 1674.

On that day an event occurred within its walls IMG_0175which made it famous. In those days it was called “The Kings Head”, and it was here at seven 0’clock in the morning that King Charles arrived heartbroken and weary after an all-night ride in appalling circumstances, accompnied by Dr Hudson.

From Charles’ point of view the war was lost and he was trying to make the best terms he could. Negotiations between going on between Charles and the Scottish Commissioners. At last Hudson had succeeded in obtaining terms which would be acceptable to both sides.

Charles was stolen out of Oxford, he reached Southwell where he met Montreuil, the French envoy who was acting as intermediary.

.Charles surrendered and was invited to accompany them to headquarters of the Scottish army at Kelham.

That was the end of Charles as a free man.

The name of the “Kings Head” was changed to “Saracens Head”. It was wondered if the “Saracens Head” was a covert reference to Charles 11 who was IMG_0176referred to by his friends as “The Black Boy”, after his flight from Worcester and during those days when loyalty spelt danger.

On through the villages chatting away… not the villages chatting away like, me and Pete chatting away I mean like.

IMG_0177Under the bridge into Carlton and we were soon back in town.

Pete came with me to the EE shop and a very kind young lady helped show me how to sign in my email on me mobile.

She offered to sell me a cable to transfer me photo’s from the camera to me laptop – Pete said he had one at home I could have. Saved a bit there then.

Pete did his best to ensure I’d got the message about what to do to get signed in on me mobile.

We parted and I caught the bus back home with me aching feet (I’d have  job without em eh?).

On the bus, me mobile rang, it was the warden from the MRBA housing informing me they had a flat coming free and would I like to have a look – I said yes and thanked her – if I got off at the next stop the place would only be a five minute walk away – how fortunate.

I dropped off and called to see the lady and the flat – I registered my interest, she asked me to ring her tomorrow and let her know yea or nae.

I’ve got to go to the hospital tomorrow for me INR tests, I’ll call in on me way home and let her know yea!

Then I was all in a right state in me mind – so much to get done, the first thing is to start cleaning up and clearing out – hard on yer own and without transport.

IMG_0178Pete said he would help with the selling of the house, I rang him and he said to get things moving and then let him know.

The brain is racing now – worrying, fretting…

Walked home, nearly being clobbered by a pavement cyclist en-route!

Got in the dump and WC’d.

Wasn’t hungry at all. too tensed and nervous now with the thought of managing everything IMG_0179with the prospective move into sheltered housing. Then I thought of the costs – I forgot to ask the warden what the rent is? Must do that tomorrow***

Mad a nosh of sort but couldn’t eat it all.

My diary’s will not be so light hearted or detailed for while, due to being needed to work on me new problems. Sorry.

.Oh, Pete took some photo’s of me on his phone – if he sends them before I nod off I’ll add them, otherwise add the to tomorrow’s news.

He’s sent em now:

Sat 9.5.15: Inchcock Today: Ingordigiousness abounds…

Saturday 9th May 2015

Got a decent sleep in last night, a good 6 hours.

The dreams were something about me in a crowd like in the cup final and I was searching everywhere for someone or something – ended up with me looking down at missen and I was in a giant pan being boiled in soup? I seemed quite happy with this though.

Woke and climbed downstairs.

IMG_0134The clouds were moving at a fast pace this morning.

Sprayed some weed-killer on the garden patch – the kids have been in again throwing me rockery rocks about.

Washed me pots from last night, made a flask of tea, WC’d and did me checks: Sys 174 Dia 78 Pulse 78 Temp 45c

Laptop on and started this diary off.

Coreldraw froze – Corel Paint, everytime I try to use it a message comes up telling me important update to stability faults need to be downloaded – I turn of the programme and click OK – everytime it tells me I need to turn off the programme before it can install update patch! The window informing me of this stays open all the time!

AALonaTried Serif plus and that froze. Restart after restart – blimey, it took me ages to get me first graphicalisation dun and posted on TFZ facebook!

Oh dear!

The TFZ Gal Knitters I called it, I was looking for a ‘cute’ element in it like.

Gawd I’ve got a massive headache coming on now, Tsk!

Forced missen to get a spit and polish and ready fer me trip to town – decided to go to Sneinton Market, partly because I’ve not been there for years and I thought I might get some decent photo’s fer the TFZers on Facebook.

Set off and caught the bus into town where I had a wobble around…

0603I plodded down to the Sneinton Market first.

0608Down Milton Street, left into Upper Parliament street, Lower Parliament Street through Burton Street and left through Boston Street, right up Brook Street and left into the Market… and what a sight for sore eyes it was!

Pathetic – about six stalls with crap for sale in the wind blown vast expanse 0609of concrete.

Hogwash!

So sad from the days when I used to go their in the 50’s and 60s when it was all hustle and bustle and watch yer wallet as you searched for and usually found a bargain or two.

Later when I got back I found a photo from 1961 to post along with todays to show how things have gone downhill with the open markets nowadays.

Nostalgic moment suffered here!

I wobbled to the end of Bath Street 0605and left into Beck Street, across and up Heathcoat Street and right down Goosegate.

On the corner the ‘Odd shop’ as it is known had some great stuff on display and I took a couple of snaps for the ‘Bling’ gals on TFZ.

I’ve no idea what these gems are, but 0606they looked good to me.

And these ladies watches were really different than any others I’ve seen anywhere else.

They had some hats in one if the windows but the reflection from that window meant they didn’t come out very good at all.

0607Down to Chinese store and had a wonder around getting some seaweed. My usual one in olive oil and a new one that is dried and actually looks like seaweed should. I’m aiming to try a bit of this tonight with me nosh.

They had some American pasta in the window I noticed as I was leaving and took a photo of it as best I could like.

I walked back up Goosegate through Hockley noticing something I missed in the ‘Odd Shop’ 0604window earlier.

Took a photo of it as it got me curious at to what it was and did like.

A German engineered Dry-herb Vaporiser?

I still don’t know what it is or does – can anyone help me please?

Whatever it is I hope it works cause at £325 it ain’t cheap! That’s CAD $605.79, USD $501.88, AUD $ 632.65.

0611A bit further up Hockley the model cow outside an eatery was attracting a lot of interest from the ankle-snappers.

This gal in the picture was overjoyed and tried to milk it! Not kidding. (Hehe, bless her, how one so young knew about such things I don’t know!).

I plodded on through Carlton Street and Pelham street, Thurland Street the Clinton Street East and over the road into the Vic Centre.

0613Walked through and into Tesco to get some fresh cream cakes – but overcame the desire with a willpower of steel (Not really, they were short dated).

I got some of their very nice Curried Beans and some Garden peas on offer, Sugardrop tomatoes and Cheesey Seaweed nibbles.

I left from the top entrance and walked down to Upper Parliament street – avoiding the argument going on between a group of Eastern European gentlemen by the sound of their language used to each other – odd how many English swear words were intermingled with their own language?

0612Feeling well tired now, I took a photo of the crowd and nipped off tp catch me bus back to Carrington.

I droppedoff the bus and called in the Co-op to get some of their thins – they only had short date ones left, but they were reduced so I got a pack.

The twitchell was occupied with lurking yobs so I took the long route back to the dump.

0614Still even so, Fatima and Fred must have seen me and followed because they came down for their nibbles.

A feeling of impending gloom came over me when I got in the house?

WC’d and put me purchases away, then got me 0615nosh sorted.

Dropped one of tins of curried beans on me foot…

I swore profusely!

Made a flask of tea up and took me nosh up to enjoy while watching a DVD.

0616The new seaweed is really strong – I liked it.

Just covered in water for three minutes and it was ready.

The Sugarsweet tomatoes weren’t very sweet though.

Fell asleep several times then gave up trying to watch the film.

I dreamed of Shirley Blamey and Mike Steeden and a classroom in me dreams – but can’t remember what happened in em. Tsk!

Got on with this diary then did some Facebooking.

Fri 8.5.15: Inchcock Today – Out and about

Friday 8th May 2015

After falling asleep early last night and waking up around 0200hrs – I realised I’d missed me Warfarin along with me other medications last night – Tsk!

Vague memories of bits of me dreams but not enough to formulate any actual activity, just the feelings of frustration and depression?

Had to do yesterday’s diary and get it posted off. Took me hours as Coreldraw9 was playing up again, and things kept jumping about when typing?

IMG_0117Around 0400hrs I took a break to go down and take the bins out for collection later, make a flask of tea and pot of porridge.

Nippy this morning, too dark to take a photo of outside yet.

Took me morning medications and did me health checks list.

The haemorrhoids were not bad and no bleeding – The Inch Lesion had only bled a tiny bit – Anne Gyna was no bother – Arthur Itis and cramps were much better than yesterday – the skin cancer growth was the same, painful if touched or caught on owt – No bother from the ulcer at all. Good stuff this morning in these findings. Did me BP thingy:

Sys 143 – Dia 89 – Pulse 94 and Temp 30.2 looks alright to me too!

Set up this diary to here and checked on election results to date (early yet I know)

0500hrs:

* Labour 126 – 19% Tories 101 – 16% SNP 48 – 7% LibDems 5 – 1% UKIP 1

Then did some Facebooking.

0630hrs:

* Labour 174 – 19% Tories 165 – 16% SNP 53 – 7% LibDems 6 – 1% UKIP 1

0735hrs:

* Labour 216 – 33% Tories 268 – 41% SNP 56 – 9% LibDems 8 – 1% UKIP 1

Had a wash and brush-up and got ready fer me walk into town.

0501Set off – a fine looking day.

I set off up Mansfield Road into the City Centre on me walk.

I enjoyed it today, despite the knees being a bit tender like – no rushing, just plodded along yer know.

I’m glad to report that there was only 0502one Pavement cyclist en-route!

Mind you, this git was of more danger than the normal morons who scare pedestrians and older folk with their uncaring attitude.

He was on his mobile phone or ipod thing!

Tsk and cobblenuts to him!

As I approached the centre I stopped to take a photograph of the Victoria Flats (Apartments to our American friends I think).

0503The building in front contains students flats, hundreds of student flats.

The ground floor contains a disabled contact point and at one time several retail outlets. but they have all gone bankrupt and departed elsewhere.

I slipped some seeds and mealworms to the pigeons… clandestinely like.

When I walked walked through the Victoria Bus-station 0504and I couldn’t believe it was a Friday – hardly a sole about… no plaice either… hehehe, I am a fool! Sorry!

I poddled into the mall on the top floor and walked the length to the other end and the walk-over where I could take a photo of the traffic from above like.

0505There wasn’t much traffic or folk either, although the dustbin lorry… no sorry, the Refuse Collectors Vehicle managed to miss the traffic lights as he turned right, just.

I went down the stairs and wobbled on to the Co-op Bank.

They were not open yet, so I hobbled up Friar Lane to the Boots Opticians.

The lady tending to deciding where to put the 0512split in the bifocals informed me I had a large scratch on my head. Took a photo of it.

I had no idea?

0413

Yesterday

Yesterday when I walked into the drooping wet tree leaves perhaps?

Either I’m getting pimples or it’s the skin cancer marks on top of head?

Hey-ho, I’ll find out on June 12th when I have me appointment with the knife.

0506I wondered back to the Bank and en-route saw this sign outside a cafe in town: “It will rain now I’ve put this board out!”

Liked the humour – and he/she was right, it did rain later!

To the bank and sorted me confusion out eventually.

Then a wander to get a photographicalisation of the second oldest pub in Nottingham, the ‘Salutation Inn’.

05071210 or 1216 I think it first opened.

Very much a young yuppie type clientele nowadays.

And the students from the thousands of dedicated living flats all around town seem to like it.

Plenty (far too many) pavement cyclists all over the town today.

I walked down to Wheeler Gate and took a 0508photo in a wine shop window for the TFZ fold, and some ‘Bling’ from the jewellers.

Made my way back to the Victoria Mall and called in Tesco to get some Bread thins.

Weakness overcame me – and I got some of the Polish chicken sausage, Marmite Crisps, canned peas and… er… two fresh cream French Horns.

Then to Aldi for some of their microwaveable small new potatoes in herb and oil.

Guilt ridden I made for the bus stop and caught a bus back to Carrington.

0509One of the gals on the TFZ site asked me about the spaces made available for the disabled on our buses – so I took this photo of the area for her.

The wheelchair is backed up to the pad, the grey arm on the right can be dropped down for extra safety.

I was soon back in Carrington and in the hovel and on the porcelain again.

0511aGot me nosh prepared and watched a DVD while eating it with glee.

Them chicken sausages are so sweet and tender inside.

The potatoes were as usual excellent!

Took me medications and fell asleep – fancy that!

I woke up and checked the election results:

* Tories 331 51% – Labour 232 – 36%  41% SNP 56 – 9% LibDems 8 – 1%

general election - final result

This result means the end of the free NHS.

The result was caused by Miliband’s total inability to challenge Cameron.

The resignations of Clegg Miliband and Farage are too late to save the situation, Clegg and Miliband should have gone long ago – why did they stay to destroy their own parties? Will Farage actually go?

Feeling down now…

The riots will return soon too, mark my words!

Tue 5.5.15: Inchcock Today Launderette day

Tuesday 5th April 2015

Gone 0500hrs before I got off to kip.

Stirred at 0645hrs mainly because I could recall details of one of me dreams and wanted to get em down quick before they disappeared:

I was in an empty shop on Hyson Green – I was sleeping rough on the floor… a voice was talking to me and advised the unit was used by the Army Cadets and best to introduce myself to them as a Captain or above when they arrive. I seemed young and smartly dressed?.

Four lads arrived and I got up brushed myself down and refusing to lie – told told them my name number and rank of Private.

We all milled around talking of actual events from my past.

They seemed interested… The voice kept talking almost like a narrator? Things from 60 years ago seemed so fresh and alive as we talked about them – it felt to me like the lads were there with me.

A door appeared on the wall and we were all ushered through by a woman. In that room there was a kitchen just like the one I had in 1950, enamel sink, Dads shaving mug and cut-throat razors with strap (No bathrooms then yer know) – but different people gathered. Mother even put in an appearance and gave us a lecture on how to avoid the police? One of the lads was telling me about a new weapon system he was being trained to use – then great disappointment as I found myself back in what I thought was reality and in a giant gift shop getting pressies for  every one I know it seemed – I can recall getting a Crossword book for Lynton Cox, an LP for his son John, A giant Rose for Rachel Carerra, a tandem bike for Shirley Blamey, a Guinea pig for Gaz Hoadley, a guitar for Marissa Bergen… there seemed like hundreds of others too?

Then the alarm went off.

Took me medications and got this bit of the diary down.

Got the laundry stuff ready and had a wash and brush-up.

IMG_0076Off to the launderette – dizzy en-route and not feeling too good when I arrived.

Took this photo – but can’t remember why?… oh yes I can, it was supposed to be of a Nottingham PAvement Cyclist but she was too quick fer me. Tsk!

BJ was late this morning. But  we had a good natter with Mandy when he arrived.

Got the washing done, and BJ ran me to Asda to IMG_0075do some shopping.

Still not feeling to bright.

We notice three Nottingham motorists on their mobile phones on the short journey to the supermarket.

BJ was not amused!

As we approached the traffic lights on Gregory Boulevard/Radford Road we waited to turn right ant sight of the trees being blown so hard IMG_0077in the wind made me take a photo of them, although the wind is not obvious there was plenty of it about this morning.

BJ was livid when a youth on a motorbike drove across against the lights and through the traffic – a lucky young rascal indeed – not the words BJ used to describe him though!

At Asda I again spent too much. I got a spare flask cause they were dead cheap like there – £3.99 for a litre one.

Took us a while to through the checkouts get.

BJ ran me back home.

IMG_0075Thanked him and got in and sat down for a few minutes – still not feeling right.

WD’d and made a flask of strong tea for later on.

No energy.

Lack of sleep catching up with me I suppose?

Hey-ho, took me medications and gotme nosh ready for later – but but decided to have it straight away.

IMG_0078Roast potatoes in olive oil, cooked beetroots, Petit Pois and franks.

Ate it up followed by an iced lolly and tub of mandarins.

Started updating this diary and sneezing a lot now – Huh!

Too tired to do owt now – drained and faeege…fateg… fatiged… Tired.

TTFN folks.
