Friday 5th October 2018

Samoan: Aso Faraile 5th Oketopa 2018

2246hrs: Woke-up, blinked and decided immediately, that I would get the laundry tended to, the first job of the day! Please note the truancy of my usually rampant pathological indecisiveness! Smug Mode Adopted.

I was out of the £300 second-hand juddery recliner in minutes. No ailments caused me any bother in doing so. The back pain, Hippy Hilda, Anne Gyna and Arthur Itis were all being kind to me. A little unsettling when this happens. I gathered the bag of washing with the accoutrements already in it and set off down in the lift.

When I got to the laundry room, a chap was filling up the better dryer with his clothing that he’d washed in his machine in his flat.

5Fri003I got my stuff going in washer No.2 and back up to the flat.

5Fri003a But not before I had to clean out the filter that someone had left clogged up.

To the flat and got the Health Checks were done. The readings were all still too high, I think.

5Fri001

5Fri001bMet Bill from the first floor on the way down as he got on the elevator, on his way to do his washing.

Move the togs from the washer to the dodgy dryer. I’m never content using this machine, because of the number of times it had finished its cycle and the clothing has still been wet.

5Fri003a I stayed downstairs 5Fri002wondering around. As I feared, the crap-drier stopped early, and the clothes were still almost wet! At this point, the big lad came in to gather his not been long in the machine clothing. Which was good for me, cause I could move the undried things into the better dryer after the big lad had emptied it. As he started to remove his items, I advised him to clean the filter out first, or he’ll drag his gear over it and get fluff on his clean clothes. I showed him how to clean it out, then did it for him.

I transferred my items to the dryer. As I was taking them out, Bill arrived to remove his washing, so that worked out well.

All this laundry room traffic made me realise how early it actually was. I’d woken up assuming it was somewhere around 0200hrs, my usual waking up time. But it was not. Fool! Folded the clothing into the bag and went back up to the apartment.

Then made a brew of tea and took the medications. Put the stuff away and got on the computer to get the diary updating done for yesterdays post. Went on the TFZer Facebooking duties, WP Reader. Made another brew of tea to replace the one I’d let go cold. Huh!

While waiting for the kettle boil, I leant out of the unliked view and light blocking new window in the kitchen to take a panoramic effort of a photograph of the night, er, morning now.

5Fri004

Not a lot to look at, is there? They are not stars in the picture, but, house and street lights.

Off to the Porcelain Throne. Had a rinse, and made yet another decision (Oh, yes!). I’d get out to the Goose Fair later, to try and get a walk in, and some photographs of the stalls and rides for the TFZers on Facebook.

No good going out too early because there will be nobody much there. Too late, and it will be too crowded for me to get through. And, knowing my luck the pickpockets and or muggers might have a go at me. Haha!

My earlier aberration (Of instant decision making) came over me again. The cooked chicken legs I bought two of in error, is still a week in date, but a little too sweet for my taste, I’d been pondering over who might make the best use of it I can help out. Roy, well his better half, who has been struggling without complaint in looking after the old codger since he got out of the hospital and started his recovery, I thought. Might just save the gal from having to go out to get some fodder, I hope. I also hoped that they could make use of them.

So, I got the ablutions tended to and on my way out, I went up to the next floor with everything I needed for the trip out and the chicken legs and called at Roy’s flat. The Lady of the House answered the door. I explained about my getting two packs of the chicken on offer, and wondered if they could use it. I was tickled pink when the Madam of the House accepted and thanked me. I wished her and Roy all the best and toddled off and down and out onto Chestnut Way, feeling good that I could help for once.

5Fri006It was bit murky out there this morning, but not as cold as the weather forecaster on the radio indicated when I had my shower.

In a good mood now, I ambled on along the road. Passing the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Stabsgefreiteress Wardens Temporary HQ, WC, Willmott-Dixon workers breakfast and tea-break room, Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, Tenants Socialisationalistic Area, Telling Inchcock off Zone, Crockery and pottery to be stolen 5Fri20from, and residents porta-cabin, and threw a wave and smile at Wardens Deana and Julie through the window.

I stood a while on the corner, watching wood pigeons in the trees and bushes.

Then set off on my mini-little-hobble.

Down the Winchester Street Hill and onto Mansfield Road, over the hill and down into Carrington.

5Fri007At the junction traffic lights, a young Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclist was initially doing wheelies as he sped down the hill, then mounted the pavement, then back onto the road as the light changed to red. Of course, this didn’t interest him at all, and I caught him on camera cycling over, nearly hitting a lady with her child in a pram, then he began to so wheelies again. He seemed to be a high of some sort, I think he was shouting or singing as well? He was a big lad, I hope he grows up mentally too. The meshuggeneh!

5Fri08As I got into Carrington and near the doctors’ surgery, I was surprised by the lack of traffic on Mansfield Road.

I got into the reception and asked the lady behind the counter (the one on the reception was on the phone) if she could help me sort out my appointments.

There followed a farce of Faulty Towers merit:

Moi: You booked me in for a changed appointment for INR blood Test next Tuesday, to Monday at 0900hr...

Receptionist: “Yes!”

Moi: Well, I got the Anticoagulation Results, telling me my next appointment is for 30th October?”

Receptionist: “I’ll check for you…” Five minutes later… Receptionist: “This is not for your INR Warfarin, it’s for your CHC/D test, Mr Chambers.”

Moi: “I thought I had that a week or so ago with Nurse Ann?

Receptionist: “I’ll check for you…” “Ah, you need to retake it Mr Chambers, and some extra tests at the hospital, the last test showed up some concerns, that’s why we have to get it done urgently.”

Moi: Will I need to fast 12 hours before and bring a sample this time, please?

Receptionist: “I’ll check for you…” “Yes!”

Moi: Can I have a sample bottle please, and book in an appointment for the Warfarin blood test, on the 30th?

Receptionist: “We’ll see you on Tuesday next then.”

5Fri003a I didn’t realise until much later that she said Tuesday and not Monday? At least, I think she did? I never got a sample bottle either. I left and carried on walking along on the way to the Goose Fair on the Forest.

5Fri003a Flummoxed, brain-scrambled and confused, I nearly walked off the edge of the gutter into the r5Fri09oad.

I think I’ve got things wrong and muddled somewhere along the line? Klutz! I’m sure that I am to blame!

When I got to Gregory Boulevard, I spotted that this year they had given model Goose on the traffic island a blue jacket. To keep him warm, perhaps? Hehe!

I hobbled up the hill and over the pelican lights into a Forest Recreation Ground and Goose Fair, that did not have a single stall or amusement ride open.

5Fri10

5Fri11It all came back to me then. I’d made another mess over timings! Schlemiel!

I had a wander around, getting dirty looks from the staff and owners of the amusements when I got the camera out. So I only took this one shot of ‘Spooky Towers’.

I presumed this was a take on the old Ghost Train?

5Fri12I wandered out and up the hill and caught a tram a few stops to the University. The tram was almost full to capacity.

5Fri003a With this ignorant young man sat on the outside of the disabled seats blocking anyone sitting next to him as people stood all around him. I despair of people nowadays!

I dropped off of the tram and walked along Shakespeare Street to Mansfield Road/Milton Street traffic light.

This ‘5Fri013Nasty’ Nottinghamian cyclist passed me by from behind, shouting something and swearing I think with it. He was within inches of hitting me, then he carried on right up Milton Street weaving between the pedestrians. A naughty young Nudnik!

I went into the Tesco store and came out with Surimi Sticks, a Pork Knuckle joint and a  loaf of sliced crustless wholemeal bread. Paid the lady and out onto Milton Street to walk to the L9 bus stop.

5Fri014When I got out into the fresh air, Milton Street looked very eerie and unreal to me!

No traffic and few Nottinghamians in sight.

I walked up through the Trinity Walk and stopped at a second-hand jewellery shop, and I think, Pawnbrokers.

To take some photographs for the TFZer gals to take their fancy of. Hehehe!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

5Fri018Amethyst, the birthstone of February, I think.

I hobbled into the Slab Square and took this picture of the Gay-Abandoned happy, merry, cheerful Nottinghamians coming out from and going down into Exchange Walk.

Up Queen Street to wait for the bus, on which I must have nodded-off eight or so times en route. Tsk!

5Fri019There were two other tenants on the bus, neither of which chose to wake me up when we arrived at the flats. Hehehe! Luckily the jerking when the bis pulled up woke me, I did feel a clot!

A resident of Woodthorpe and I tackled the challenge of walking on the road back to our domicile.

5Fri019aThe gal walking in front, by gum, she can’t half move, pointed out to me that the Woodthorpe Block had had its naming board finished while we were out.

I took this photograph. Notts County colours on the sign, I noticed.

I hastened to the apartment and took a short-sharp wee-wee. (One of many that followed, Huh!)

Got the meal part sorted. Mushrooms and green beans in the same saucepan with a little balsamic vinegar.

Health Checks were done.

5Fri34Updated this diary a little.

Got the meal served up.

Can you see what’s on my plate here? Can you identify everything in this picture? Hehe!

A Flavour-Rating of only 6.5/10 for this one I’m afraid. No idea what I did wrong, but, The Lithuanian made Tesco surimi sticks tasted right foul and bitter, and undercooked the green beans by a long way! The Morrison apples were soft and mushy. The shitake mushrooms were tough-textured.

Settled down after the 23 hour, up and about day.

The usual performance with the TV watching. Or rather not watching due to my nodding-off. Haha!

Inchcock – Thursday 4th October 2018: A few panegyric words in praise of the dead evil ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting Beetles. Social Hour. Then I did some Graphicationalisationing

Norwegian: Torsdag 4 Oktober 2018

0115hrs: I woke, and activation mode was adopted almost instantly. Most pleased to report that the sharp electric-shock-like lower back pains seemed to have eased off a lot in degree, and are now only sharp trapped-nerve-like pains. Humph!

As I dismounted the working again £300 second-hand recliner, I selected to go on an ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles assessment patrol. Pot to collect any dead ones in, and a can of ‘Raid’ Ant & Cockroach killer spray at hand.

4Thu001aWD 194.117.2 The final (Body Count) result, after investigating the wet room, kitchen and spare room, was many dozens of dead corpses and just three live evil ironclads Boll-Weevil black biting beetles.

I collated them in a pot I save for this specific task, ready for their final burial and trip to the landfill site. Naturally, I said a few silent words in panegyric form, a sort of eulogy, for the little beasts who are slowly getting some admiration from me. For the fearlessness and persistence shown in their illegal invasion, and so many of them cunningly surviving to bite again, despite all I can throw at them.

I have to admire them for their attack, requisitioning and occupation of every crack and hole left in the plastering up of the new unwanted light and view-blocking windows in the apartment. And, boy, can they breed! Hehe!

WD 194.117.2 I had to try several times to get the sphygmomanometer to work, to do the Health Checks. Ended up changing the batteries. Although those in the machine were not that old? The hemadynamometer would still not operate. I put the old batteries back in and hey-presto, it worked?

4Thu01

The readings were similar to what the previous ones this week, but the HP and weight remain so high.

WD 194.117.2 This was when I got up to make a brew and noticed the half-empty tub of cheese biscuits down the side of the Ottoman. Nocturnal nibbling Again! Feeling penitential and inwardly shamefaced, I mutely muttered a few indecorous words to and about myself! Eizel!

I took the morning medications and made the brew.

Off to the Porcelain Throne. Messy again!

Got the Wednesday post finished and on to WordPress. (2.5 hours)

I went on the WordPress Reader page. Some good stuff on there this morning.

All ready for another mug of tea, I trotted (limped) off to the kitchen.

WD 194.117.2 I realised that earlier when I made the last brew, I’d left the dang hot water tap (faucet) running! No hot water available now, Humph! What a Shmo!

4Thu001WD 194.117.2 As I returned from the kitchen, I was surprised to see that the dang ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting bay beetles had reappeared from the cracks in the floor tiling and under the door stop!

Tenacious or what?

You have to give them credit; they just seem to be sending their ankle-snappers out to get killed first. Tsk!

Had a go on doing a bit of TFZer Facebooking, then got the ablutions done. No shower of course (only 0400hrs) I don’t want to disturb my neighbours.

Sorted the nibble box out, and got the Morrison empty bags out ready for the delivery to arrive (0600hrs > 0700hrs).

4Thu06Did some searching for missing words to replace in the new Personal Word dictionary, for the one that mysteriously disappeared from the computer after the last MS Windows Update arrived.

0738hrs: Mr Morrison came, not so much bought this week.

Then, I attempted a wider-panoramic photo effort from the Kitchen window.

4Thu05

4Thu03

Not too bad a try, I thought. Not up to Tim Price’s quality of course (My photographicalising hero).

I spotted two of the Willmott Dixon lads coming along the road and took a photo of them. Later on, I added the young lady to the graphic, for a bit of fun.

I got the nibble box, and raffle prizes sorted to take with me to the Winwood Social Hour at the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Hauptbereitschaftsleiteress Wardens Temporary HQ. Willmott-Dixon workers breakfast and tea-break room. Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, telling Inchcock off Zone, things like crockery and pottery to be stolen from. Somewhere to rest while waiting for the bus, and Tenants Socialisation shed.

4Thu07Dropped the black bags down the chute as I left, and down and out into the nippy dim morning.

Not many folks around out there at this moment?

Ah, I bet it is tea-break time, perhaps?

But, no, further along, I bumped into Ian Incharge, and Paulius Plonk-Brewer (hyphenated, the plant driver, nice chaps), and they came up with an idea for a graphic for me to do of Paulius Plonk-Brewer (hyphenated) later.

I poddled to the Social Hour. Got some tickets, put the prizes on the trolley and went round with the nibble-box, having some great chinwags, laughs and gossips on the way. Jenny, Cyndy, Margaret, Frank etc. all seemed to be in fine form. BJ, Bill, William, Doreen and all the folks sounded in good spirits.

I was indeed having a good time.

WD 194.117.2 Unfortunately, it all came to an abrupt, embarrassing end. I sensed the wet warm sensation suddenly, from Harold’s Haemmorhoids.

4Thu07a

I had to offer a quick cheerio to the clan, and get back to the flat post-haste, to clean things up. I don’t think I’ve scurried along so fast in a long time. Humph!

I foolishy stopped to take a photo of Woodthorpe Court building as I approached it.

WD 194.117.2 Calamitously, I found when I got inside, that the bleeding was much worse than I thought. What a picklement I got myself into. What a Shlimazel! It took me ages to get things sorted out, but I got there in the end. I got stripped and under the shower and cleaned up. Obviously, the PPs needed changing. I had to throw the trousers away and adorn another pair. If only I had not stopped to take that photograph, Humph! I might have made it to the wetroom just in time to avoid such a regrettable incident, the mess and the accompanying stigma and ignominy.

I felt a bit better after I was all cleansed and redressed.

I went on CorelDraw to do the humorous doctorisationing of the photo of Plant Perambulator Paulius Plonk-Brewer (hyphenated). Hehehe! Hope he likes it.

4Thu08

Got on with updating this post, until the tiredness arrived.

I received a call from the surgery receptionist. Who did not give me the new doses for the Warfarin, or the test result, but got me to change my appointment day from Tuesday 9th October at 0900hrs, to Monday 8th October same time. I agreed and thanked her. Then I wrote the modified the date on a card and stuck it on the TV screen, and altered the Google Calendar.

4Thu23This got me thinking, and I realised I had not had the Anticoagulation Therapy Result Card yet either. So I popped to the door and found the card on the carpet.

Most confusing – the Next Test Date on the Anticoagulant Service result sheet was given as 30 October? Feeling all ferdrayt now!

4Thu24Got the nosh sorted.

Mini-waffles, vegetarian sausage and a bean stew of sorts, with tomato passata. Brown thins, apple, Lemon dessert, and clementine juice. Not one of my better vittles tastewise, but I at it all up.

A 6.5/10 Flavour-Rating is the best I could give it.

4Thu25Did the Health Checks.

As I pulled the curtains to, I noticed I had now got rain spots and bird feathers inside the pod. I think the boards might warp with the rain getting in too.

I’m not looking forward to cleaning the bay windows when I can get out onto the pod (Balcony). There is over a years-worth of bird-poo, dead insects, spilt plaster and building debris, grot, detritus and gubbins to get off of the already scratched glass. Tsk!

Sleep came almost instantly as I settled into the £300 second-hand recliner to watch the A-Team on the telly.

Inchcock – Wednesday 3rd October 2018: Back Pains joined the other ailments today – Humph!

Wednesday 3rd October 2018

Esperanto: Merkredo 3a de Oktobro 2018

Whoopsie O1AA 0015hrs: As I stirred into mock-life, my mind was bearing habromanical thoughts. Possibly, derivating from a nocturnal dream? For several moments I feard nothing and felt I was the man, and could cope with anything… Of course, this didn’t last long. I soon found myself back in my regular agitated, fault-finding, self-loathing, snivelling unconfident, querulous, insecure, fretful mode. Whimp!

The brain decided that I must first make a sit-rep about the Evil ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting Beetle attack forces situation. This rare decision must have been prompted by my high EQ – for after doing a perambulation and assessment of the Weevils contamination, it was not good news. Well, I suppose it was good news that I found many dead carcases, seeing so many live ones was not good.

Whoopsie O1AA Maybe it was the bending or what, I don’t know, but shooting electric-shock-like pains in the lower back have been with me ever since. What a schlemiel!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I wonder if I should just surrender and let them take over? I emptied two more cans of killer spray, one Rentokil and one Raid. I’ll have to get some more again soon.

I felt slightly despondent, at the increase in the numbers of the Boll-Weevils. All the early signs of the habromania evaporated, vanished and banished, to be replaced with a sense of failure and inadequacy. This was not good!

I got on with the Health Checks.

3Wed01a

This didn’t do my confidence any good either. The BP still high and the weight; despite my taking two good long hobbles over the last few days, was also up again. The arms and legs have gone all thin and chicken-like, the stomach all bloated! But, I realise with the ailments I cope with, I should be glad to still be here at all, and able to battle the Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting Beetle illegal immigrants attack forces, daily.

Got on the computer, and finished off the Tuesday Diary and got it posted. (Three-hour job!)

Then, I worked on the TFZer Facebook page and added many photographs to the albums.

Took the morning medications and off to the Porcelain Throne. At this point, you can be aware that I had short-sharp wee-wees throughout my time in the flat, three an hour I think it worked out as. Humph!

Whoopsie O1AA The Throne session was again swift, messy and liquified.

Got around to starting this blog, then went on to the WordPress Reader.

I put some of the mini potatoes in the crock-pot on a low light. Planning that when I get back, I can drain them, spray them with sunflower oil and roast them to have as part of my nosh. Best pain plans? We’ll see. Hehe!

Started the ablutions. A stand-up session again, with it being a bit early. All went well, only one tiny cut shaving.

I took the black bags to the waste chute. Then back to the flat and collected chilled lamb hock in mint gravy cook-in-the-bag meal, to take up and offer dear Jenny. It was a little too sweet for my tastes). Took the recycle bag with me, as I intend to go out after visiting Jenny and Frank. Then to go the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Stabsgefreiteress Wardens Temporary HQ, WC, Willmott-Dixon workers breakfast and tea-break room, Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, Tenants Socialisationalistic Area, Telling Inchcock off Zone, Crockery and pottery to be stolen from, and residents porta-cabin, to wait for the bus.

Jenny showed me inside and offered to let me take photographs from her kitchen window of the extra-care Unit building progress and Winchester Court. That was nice of her. I’ll take her up on that, bless her. I thanked her and made my way down in the lift and out onto Chestnut Way.

3Wed07Not so sunny today, but we’ve done well weather-wise, so no complaints from me.

Took a photograph of all three Courts. And off to the waiting hut.

Within minutes the shed had filled up with tenants. Sheila, Lynne, Penny, Roy’s better-half, Paul, Welsh William and a few others.

3Wed08I went outside so that I could let them know when the Bestwood bound bus L9 bus arrived.

I sat with the delightful wife of Roy. (I wish I could remember names! Tsk!)

I let them know when the bus arrived. Everyone got off in Sherwood, leaving me to have a go at my crossword book on the way to Arnold. I got off and walked hastily to the Fulton Foods store, where I was overcharged for the nibble box things I bought. Humph! Didn’t notice it at the time. I also got some the bags of  6 tiny flavoured pork scratchings, salt & vinegar, BBQ and maple seasoned. I will eat some of the salt and vinegar ones with my meals, the rest can go into the nibble box.

Whoopsie O1AA I forgot all about getting some milk, though. Klutz!

3Wed10Back up to High Street and waited for the L9 to arrive. I wish I’d remembered the milk!

I noticed that the automatic, Asda Walmart filling station across the road from the bus shelter had three customers.

Never seen it so busy.

Whoopsie O1AA The lower-back stabbing pains were getting 3Wed09more frequent and painful now. Huh!

The sky clouds suddenly darkened and I thought we might be in for a bit of a sudden storm.

But no! Withing few minutes it had lightened up again as the storm cloud belted on at the high rate of knots to the South?

3Wed11The bus arrived, and we were soon back at the flats.

I managed a few quick exchanges of words with Cyndy, Val, Bill and a few other residents as they got on the bus I’d just alighted from.

The Willmott Dixon lads were noticeable by their absence this lunchtime.

3Wed12

I took a panorama shot of the whole of the Winwood Heights buildings. The caretaker is walking away using the safe route as you can see. I followed suit on my way back to the apartment, and more crucially the WC in there. Hehe!

I noticed some new generators, I think, judging by the noise emanating from one of them, on the verge. Making less room for residents to park. That’ll cheer some car owner up, I’m sure!

I got in and up to the wet room and had my wee-wee. (Ahh!)

3Wed12aI got the things bought into the nibble box room. Taking out a packet of the BBW flavoured scratchings for me to have with the nosh later. Drained the potatoes ready to go in the oven.

Then took this photograph on the left of the new generator (Far left I assume) and cabins. A sign said Site Security?

Pressed on with updating this post up to here. Two hours.

Sister Jane rang me for a natter. That was nice! I can’t recall her telling me off about anything either, That was super! Hehehe! Oh, yes she did, just the one thing though. Had to cut the gossip short to go for a wee-wee. I didn’t make it in time! Shame! Cleaned up and changed PPs.

3Wed29aGot the mini-potatoes from the crock-pot and into the tray and sprayed them and got them cooking in the oven.

I didn’t eat it all by a long chalk. The pork and potatoes were fine.

8.2/10 Flavour Rating given.

Tired as I felt, it took me ages to nod-off properly tonight.

Japanese: 2018年10月2日火曜日

0015hrs: Woke, a different person again. I felt angstful, apprehensive and vulnerable. I vaguely recall dreaming of my past failings and wondered if that had any effect on me?

I lay there in the £300 second-hand recliner, wondering if it would operate and let me out of it this morning. The protuberant bulge, known as my stomach made me cringe – especially when it is compared to my skinny arms and wrists.

2Tue03 I thought about the time of the Warfarin INR blood test, but could not remember it – so I struggled out of the working recliner and got the computer on to check on the Google Calendar. Finding that it only said – Blood Test – awaiting time-confirmation. Oh dear! Then I recalled getting a call from the surgery on my mobile last week when I was out walking, and I thought I wrote down somewhere, to update the calendar later. A forage around found no signs of the writings. Eventually, I had to look at the surgery opening times, because a glimmer in the memory told me the appointment was for 0730hrs, but plainly the centre would not see anyone that early? Aha! Seems on a Tuesday, they now open at 0720hrs! I’ll just go for that time, and take the crossword book with me, in case I’ve made another ‘Inchcock Cock-up’. What a Yutz!

Into the kitchen with the camera to do the Health Checks and assess the Evil ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles situation.

I took a picture of the windows, first one with the flash on, second with it off.

2Tue001

Then got the Health Checks and medications sorted.

2Tue02f

The wee-wees this morning were frequent and short & sharp!

Back to the computer, and started this blog off up to here, then I started the long slog of updating yesterdays diary (Lots of graphics and photos).

Got it finished and posted off. Sent some funnies to Pinterest.

Then had a look at the local news. Glad to report that the fire (kitchen) at our sister flats, Manvers Court turned out with no injuries. Manvers Court Kitchen Fire – No injuries

Time to get the ablutions done so as not be late at the surgery for the INR blood test.

Did the stand-up ablutions. To early to use the noisy shower, or the hand-hoover to collect the dead weevils, the noise would disturb my fellow tenants. Medicated certain areas in need of the same.

Got the Anticoagulant Record card, new hearing aid batteries inserted, spectacles on, wristlet alarm left on the cabinet and I set off, in plenty of time.

Once outside, it felt warmer than I thought it would (but turned windy and colder later on). I took the shot of the Woodthorpe Court Asylum on the left, and on the right, The Winchester Court  Institution. I noticed that there were many more lights on in the Winchester apartments. They’ll be a reason for this… I’ll let you know when I find out what it is. Hehe!

2Tue06

I hobbled along in no rush, with my setting out early. The thing that hit me most was the dawn chorus. Of course, there were no cock-a-doodle-doos Hehe! But, the chatter of the bird songs and calls seemed so loud to me this morning. Mind, I had got new hearing aid batteries in! The chicks must have been demanding their breakfast, I suppose.

2Tue07To the end of Chestnut Way and right down the Winchester Street Hill.

Passing the bus shelter on the bend, I spotted some new Nottinghamian Street Art.

Created from a tray and wrapper from some takeaway meal, a takeaway coffee container and I think, a crushed lager can. I’ve seen much better artwork. Hehe!

There were many of the rebarbative Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclist about on the walk to the surgery, and on the way back too.

2Tue10aBy the time I’d got to Carrington, the traffic had increased and come to a stop.

I realised at this point that I was going to be a bit early for my appointment. Partly due to the lack of ailments slowing me down on this mornings journey. No, Anne Gyna, Hippy Hilda or Arthur Itis hassle at all?

Not moaning, of course. Hehe! So, I decided to 2Tue09face my nemesis, and walk into Carrington Square and back onto Mansfield Road, walking through the cut-through where I was mugged a couple of years or so ago. I haven’t walk through it since.

I noticed the lights were working on it today.

Smug Mode Adopted, as I proudly got through and out the other side. My mind had a little daydreaming session about those bad times, of its own accord. But, this only made me feel a bit better, knowing how things had improved for me now.

I ambled across the pelican lights and made my way slowly to the surgery. I could see they were doing the flu-jabs again, and feared this might get the staff uptight like last time.

But, no such thing. All the staff were all in a pleasant mood. (Of course, it was still early yet,  and, they had only just started). Even Doctor Vindla spoke to me, in fact, she was behind the reception desk, and logged me in! Looking good up to now!

2Tue03 I sat down and went to get out the crossword book. Humph! I’d left it in the other bag at home. Eizel!

I had to read a magazine, a ladies or lifestyle one for twenty minutes, yet found some interesting facts from the perusing of it. Did you know, that there is a one-bedroom chalet for sale in Dorset? Close to the beach too! It is on sale for only £100,000. Honestly! But this paled into insignificance when I read of a two-bedroom flat on offer, in Bath. This does take some believing, but I kid you not – advertised at the cost of £1.05 million! I had to double-check it, but I was right. Not £105 thousand! Naturally, I considered buying it! Lie Mode Adopted! Hehe!

I was over the moon when it is was Nurse Nichole who came out to call me in, to be done. We met Nurse Ann as we went in, and she spoke pleasantly to greet me a good day. Nurse Nichole had a laugh or two with me and a little chinwag. Made my day! I handed her some nibbles and left a bag for the receptionists, as I thanked them and departed.

2Tue10By gum, the winds had got up since I arrived at the surgery.

The traffic was still heavy, and it felt far colder now too.

Come to think of it, I reckon I read something like Storm Helene approaches Nottinghamshire earlier on.

Halfway home, and the need for a wee-wee became urgent. This, made me put on a spurt with my hobbling. Anne Gyna did not like this at all. She was already unhappy with my struggling up the Winchester Street hill. Tsk!

I threw a cheery ‘Hello’ thought the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Flats, Oberstgruppenführer Wardens Temporary HQ, Willmott-Dixon workers breakfast and tea-break room, Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, Tenants Socialisation Shed, Telling Inchcock off Zone, Things like crockery and pottery to be stolen from, and residents room window, to Deana and Julie. I didn’t take any photographs either, as the wee-wee situation was getting more urgent. Haha!

2Tue12fThen I met Mary as she was coming out of the foyer. She spoke and did not want to upset her by rushing off, so I had a little natter with her.

This caused me some consternation about if I’d make it back to the flat in time.

I made it with seconds to spare. Phew!

Relieved but still in some discomfort, I remembered to check the calendar for when to ring Mr Sherkhanzai at the clinic. It’s tomorrow PM or Thursday AM.

The sky went a little darker. I took these blind pictures on the right, out of the minuscule kitchen window, of around the flat block.

No workers up on the hoists today, but plenty grafting on the new extra-care block and others taking deliveries in and moving plant gear.

I had to go for another wee-wee, a much longer one this time, and it was very orange coloured for some reason.

Even more dead baby Evil ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles on the wet room floor. I decided the hostilities were to continue and got the Raid spray and dosed all the entry points I knew of in all three rooms. A big flat yer know! Hehehe!

2Tue15

The spare room was the worst for finding live Evil ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles found, along with many young ones that were dead on the unwanted light and view limiting new window ledge.

Oh, I forgot to say. Nurse Nichole has now got Boll-Weevils all over her house, and when she mentioned it, a patient told us that she has got them ay home also!?! Oh, dear! I explained about the Rentokil being the most effective, but expensive, and that Wilko had the Raid Spray on offer, that is pretty effective.

2Tue26I got on with updating this diary. Four hours later, I got the nosh prepared.

Last of the pork knuckle with herbs in the sandwiches. Taste rating a deserved 9.45/10.

Washed the pots and got settled in the £300 second-hand recliner.

To watch the A-Team on the goggle-box.

Five minutes or so later… Zzzz!

Inchcock – Monday 1st October 2018: Life’s ackamarackus pondered over – Boll Weevils counter attack – Mini-Marathon – Nottingham Pavement Cyclist galore!

Sudanese: Senén 1st Oktober 2018

1155hrs: WDPBL02b I sprang awake this morning (Well, evening, Haha!) rather than just woke up. Mentally that is, not physically. Although a hint of melancholia was in there somewhere. How life’s ackamarackus, failures and trials had got me to this stage, this age, if you like, led the brain on a sinuous thought and time-travelling meandering session, that only led me to further unnerving psychogenic discomforture. No resolutions or understandings were gleaned, of course. The more the mind pondered, the more scepticism and disorientation I felt.

WDPBL02b Then, by good fortune, I knocked over the bottle of clementine juice from the Ottoman, as I began to raise my over-abundant torso from the £300 second-hand recliner. Thus, freeing my mind of the throng, the myriad of deep thoughts. The bottle rolled along the carpet and knocked over the hand-hoover and its charging base. Back to reality! Thank heavens the cap was still screwed shut on the bottle!

As I escaped the recliner and started to sort out the mess I’d made, another bit of good news was identified – there were no signs of any nocturnal nibbling anywhere in the room.

I made my way for a short-sharp-stinging wee-wee. Washed the hands and noticed several dead, asylum seeking, immigrant bloodsucking Evil ironclad Boll-Weevil black beetles bodies on the wet room floor. So I sprayed some more of the ‘Raid’ bug killer around.

WDPBL02b Then, I needed another short-sharp-stinging wee-wee. Oh, dear!

To the kitchen and got the Health Check things ready. But this task had a wait, for the morning call to the Porcelain Throne arrived. Not such a messy affair this morning.

Completed the Health Checks and made up last weeks record.

1Mon01

The weight was up again last week and this morning for that matter. Grumph!

I made a pungent brew of Assam tea, took the medications and got the computer going. The internet was not too slow this morning.

Got on with completing the Sunday Post and got it sent off to WordPress. I went on the WP Reader for a while.

Then made a start on this blog.

001On to the TFZer Facebook, to post some photographs and peruse the page.

On to CorelDrawing.

Made a graphic of Willmott Dixon’s Incharge Ian for a bit of fun. Hope he gets a laugh and likes it.

Ablutions all done, and I set out on a Marathonish mini-hobble to Arnold.

1Mon14

Limping up the newly sanded old gravel hill to Woodthorpe Grange Park, my poor beloved Tree-Copse was looking very sad and dilapidated, neglected and untended.

But, a few of the canines were taking their owners on the field for a game of ‘fetch the ball’ Haha!

The trip had more Pavement Cyclist incidents than ever before. I’ve collated them here for you to see the naughty Nottingham Pavement Cyclists. There were many more that I could not get to photograph in time, too!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

WDPBL02b I wouldn’t mind if the cyclists were aware of elderly, sight and hearing impaired people. They come too close and make folks jump. None of them seems to have a bell or horn either. Never mind, live and let live without fear… which I wish they would let others do!

A bit of a nip was in the air this morning.

I plodded on and arrived in Daybrook, and into the Arnot Hill Park to the duck pond.

1Mon14a

1Mon07bNot a single pigeon there this morning. Perhaps the   Columbidae Columbiformes Columbimorphae Aves are late risers?

After having a chinwag with the birds, (They didn’t answer me, not one the even quake at me?)

I left via the top gate, taking this photo as I did so.

1Mon07cCaught the cold sun glinting against the water.

I pressed on.

When I arrived in Arnold, the rush hour traffic was starting to build up a bit.

It goes to show how quickly it gets lighter in a morning now, most of the vehicles still had their lights on.

1Mon08WDPBL02b What a shame, there were three more retail shops closed down now from last weeks visit.

Sadly, the gents clothiers I often but from, Greenwoods, was one of them.

No more bargain-priced clothing for me then, Humph!

I called in the Fulton Foods shop. I got a pack of six mini bags of Pork Scratchings. (one for me to try, and five to go in the Social Hour nibble box). And some just out of date Golden Wonder Chippie Curry flavoured chipsticks.

Then hobbled (Feet now beginning to sting) to the Asda Walmart store and had a good wander around. I bought a bit of stuff, well, a lot of things. I found they were selling some Cheese Thins Biscuits with pickle flavour and could not resist trying some. Rice cakes BBQ and Salt & Vinegar flavours. Nibbles for the box, potatoes, green beans, bitter lemon and orange yoghourt and a sliced cob of Coburg bread (Never seen these before) A bit risky trying the Asda bakery made bread, their sourdough and bloomer loaves I found to be both tasteless.

WDPBL02b I used the self-serve check-outs. I had to get assistance three times! The first time, on the first swipe, I had to wait eight minutes, (Yes, I had my new second-hand £2 wristwatch on, Haha!) and then had to signal to the assistant-lady to point out the flashing red light above the machine. I did feel a fool, I’d put the basket of shopping on the wrong side of the till! Klutz! I have no idea what went wrong on the other two occasions. But I got a look from the woman that said “Oh, the old fool!” both times. Hehe!

WDPBL02b I paid and went to the photo booth thingy. Got the SD card in, was picking out those I wanted to print, and the machine told me it needed a service and was unavailable. Tsk!

1Mon09Out with the two bags of shopping, to catch the L9 bus back to the flats.

The Daybrook Church looked nice against the blue skies background as we passed it on the bus.

When we got to Sherwood, a neighbour, Brian or Bert, I think got on. He gave me a nod in response to my cheery “Hello, you alright, mate?” as he passed by to get seated.

I was well tired out, and in urgent need of a wee-wee by the time we arrived back on Chestnut Way, at the complex.

Got in and had another short-sharp-wee-wee.

1Mon10Set about getting the meal ready.

Put some seasoned sliced potatoes in the oven, and made some buttered Coburg bread sandwiches with slices of pork knuckle and herbs. On the plate with the spuds, tomatoes, sliced apple, a few BBQ flavoured pork scratchings.

I have to say, the Asda (Walmart) Coburg bread, was delicious! As was the Lurpak soft spreadable butter and pork knuckle within it! A definitely worthy 9.45/10 for Flavour-Rating for this effort!

As I went to the kitchen to wash the things up, I spotted:

1Mon12WDPBL02b This time the immigrant bloodsucking evil ironclad Boll-Weevil black beetles bodies were of a more mature kind, bigger! Most of them were dead, but a few somewhat even larger ones were still alive, and they very quickly shot off, to where, I don’t know where!

I then declared war on the beasts who attacked my apartment from the holes and cracks left from the plastering of the surrounding walls of the new windows. Unequivocally, a casus belli situation now!

I finished of three part-used cans of the Raid and Rentokil bug killer can, in all the infested rooms, which meant of course all of the rooms!

1Mon13I got myself down to watch some TV. Why do I bother trying?

The nodding offs began almost immediately.

Then a longer one of about an hour.

More nod-offs varying between two and ten-minutes duration.

Then another one of about two hours. I woke, still feeling so tired, and went off for a short-sharp-wee-wee.

Had a drink of orange juice and drifted off again.

Woke at 0015hrs, and decided to get up. Tsk!
