Lots of computer problems again.
I decided to give up and turned everything off, intending to get some food.
My plans were interrupted. As I turned on the light, the lightbulb gave a momentary flash and then died. It was getting dark, too.
Everything went quiet as I fell backwards off the steps and got entangled with the stepladder on the floor. Whether it was a mini-seizure or I knocked myself out, I’m not sure.
Half an hour later (estimated), I became aware of where I was and the pain involved.
I pressed my alarm wristlet button and had to move off my knees and onto my bottom. The pain from Cartilage Chloe & Caroles was, to say the least, excruciating. Of course, then I had the pleasure of Haemorrhoid Harold stinging and bleeding.
The Nottingham City Homes lady acknowledged me. I told her my situation, and she called for an ambulance. I mentioned that the caregivers could be called, as I needed to get back up. She called them and said they had no one to respond but would get someone when the night shift started. She added that the ambulance would arrive once they had one free. Checked on me over the next hour or so, and I kept trying to get up, but without any luck. The lady said just stay where you are until the ambulance arrives. Which it did shortly.
I was impressed with the two paramedics who attended. One took control, asking relevant questions, and then they used a quilt over my back and under my arms to haul me back up on my feet. They did a grand job. They even put the new lightbulb in for me after they arrived and confirmed I was okay. They also took my temperature and BP.
Carer Chris arrived. He’d met the ambulance crew on his way up and their way down. He sorted out some medications and painkillers for me. Cleared some mess left from the
ambulance visit.
I wasn’t in so much pain after the Codeines had done their job. My balance was a bit dodgy, and I had a series of mini-seizures when I tried to get to sleep. All was good otherwise!

To me, it’s good that the paramedics took good care of you without hauling you to the hospital. It was sure nice of them to replace the light bulb for you.
They really were caring, Sir. Bless them.
Irish whiskey eh? Nice and peaty (mostly) and aromatic. Seems gone are the days when ambulances magically appeared and carers were on tap, or when good manners were common and the question “how are you?” was genuine!
I miss Jamiesons Irish Whiskey, red label. They stopped brewing it when they were bought out my whoever is was that bought them out. That was long winded, Hehe! Your dead right about the peatiness, too!
Thanks, Paul, mate.
Cheers Gerald (I discovered Bushmills some time back, very smooth)
I’ll make a note of that. Hehe!
Oh my word Inchy! I have those falls but I wouldn’t be up on a ladder! ha! Save that for your carers. I love that they got the quilt to lift you up – I hate when some fool thinks they are going to pull you up by your wrist!! I fell in the hospital once and they had me pull myself up with a chair rather than help me. Geez . They thought I was acting out. This was when I had severe withdrawal from a pain med and the reaction was hard to cope with! I can’t imagine having to lie on the floor for an hour for the ambulance. I am lucky where I live and the benefits of being in this suburb of Cincinnati. We have our own police and fire, and the county police and fire (all that includes ambulance and paramedic) so if I called, the team would be here within 5 minutes. I’m so sorry that happened! You had five bouts of dehydrating diaharrea yesterday and that has to be why you fainted. Your urine is very concentrated so you must drink more my darling! If you can, get some sports recovery drink or just as good, coconut water! Your electrolytes are so strained with all the issues you have so treat your self to a case of this and keep drinking water and lime or lemon too. I know it means more peeing ( I hate to balance that with need to hydrate) but it is going to to make you feel so much more alert and relaxed. Take care my sweet! Your Petal!
Thanks my HRH, Petal-Dove ♥
I’m gulping away all day, sweetheart. Spring water, I flavour some with lime and lemon cordial. I don’t like the taste of coconut, and it hurts my poor teggies. Didn’t know you could get coconut drinks. I looked on a shop advert and saw mango & coconut, and Guava & coconut. Do you think they would be okay?
We fallers eh? Hahaha! You amaze me how well you cope, gal. Where would Bill be without you.
All my love & best wishes sweetheart. 💘
Our NHS is struggling now.
