Inchcock Today Tue 10 May 2016: Flat bound again!

Tuesday 10th May 2016

01Slept better last night and woke up feeling the knees were so much better stiffness wise.

I assumed this would have been through using the new second-hand recliner I purchased yesterday from the bloke in flat 48 at Winchester Court? The pressure on the back of the knees was without doubt far less, and this cheered me up no end.

02I nimbly (For me like) got up and to the bathroom.

Oh dear, the knees felt so much easier, but Arthur Itis had decided that today would be an imitation of Charlie Chaplin day for me. Hehe!

Haem Aroids was bleeding away and sore and Little Inchy was joining in too! And, the passing on the throne was really painful. But I was still elated at the knees feeling so… well, good, that I didn’t mind at all!

04I prepared the vegetables and seasoned them in the Crock-pot slow cooker. Just turnip, onions and carrots this time.

Got them slow-slow cooking.

Next, I made a cuppa and took the medications as I started the laptop to finish off the Monday post.

07Made a start on this one, doing the photographic touch-ups needed.

I remembered that Steve Age UK said he would call today to try and finish off the cancelling of Standing Orders for the old house.

I wondered why I’d written, ‘Stay-in’ on my paper diary for today.

We’ll see.

Facebook let me post again today. So I got caught up with the TFZer site, checked the emails and sent a photo of the new chair to Sister Jane and Pete.

I’ll have to stay in today, for when Steve Age UK arrives, but the wet drizzle outside is not encouraging to venture far anyway.

I rang Sister Jane to see how she was going. She seemed in good spirits. Some mail was delivered: One for previous tenant Magaret, three of bumph and one from the Cancer Treatment Centre. I’m going to have weekly checks before the cutting out session they have arranged for Tuesday, August 16th at 1515 > 1645hrs. They are to inform me of the day and times in a few days.

LyntGCThe rain is persisting still, not heavy mind, sometimes just spotting.

I did a graphic of my friend Lynton Cox and posted it on Facebook as a caption competition.

No sign or message from Steve Age UK yet.

I am surprised.

08

Had to turn off the Crock-Pot or the stew come casserole would have been too well done. Didn’t want to start to eat it and Steve Arrive and for it be wasted.

Steve did not arrive. Obviously, I’d got the day wrong – but with him not giving me his new phone number or email, I could not get in touch with him to find out the correct ay and time of his visit.

A tad dejected I got the vegetable stew served up and ate it with some Irish Batch bread.

Tried to watch some TV, but kept nodding off so got my head down with relative ease tonight.

Inchcock Today Wed 11 May 2016: Malapropism ridden day

02

Wednesday 11th May 2016

01Kept waking during the night, unwilling to get up and that’s not me usually. Eventually around 0515 hrs, I lowered the chair (Thought I’d mention my new second-hand recliner again) and visited the porcelain throne. Performing the required motions was so painful again this morning, yet no bleeding from Haem Aroids or Little Inchy?

Made a brew and took an Entrolax pill with the usual medications, got the laptop on and finished the Tuesday diary. Somehow, I could not find the photograph of last night’s fodder, the vegetable stew in the camera? Mmm!

Did the graphics for today’s headers.

Started this page off and had a quick blast on Facebook to see if it would let me like! It did, hurrah!

P1070172Got the ablutions seen to and ready for a trip into town.

A decent conglomeration of tenants at the bus stop this morning. But I was the only one who got on the City bound L9 bus… either that or my lavender soap isn’t making it.

Hehe!

The rain started again on the way, and when I arrived it the city I nipped onto the pound shop to get an umbrella, cause I forgot to put mine in the bag, Tsk! But they had sold out with the downpours of recent days.

002Elite2

I had planned to take some photographs of certain areas of Nottingham to compare with the same shots years ago. But being as I’d left the notes of the areas in y dressing gown pocket and could not remember, apart from one, which areas I was going to photographicalise, I didn’t like. Humph again! I’ll post this one above on the Nottingham Now & Then site on Facebook later. (He say’s confident that he’ll remember to… Mmm) I cut down the new photo to try and match the ratio with the old one from… I don’t know when?

P1070173The Nottingham Pavement Cyclist were out in number again today. Bought the Nottingham Post.

Couldn’t risk taking too many photographs due to the heavy rain like, if yer know worra mean?

And me without a brolly too!

I had a waddle around and called in the pound Shop, where I bought some 07bits, well,  a lot of bits.

Nibbles for the tenant hour tomorrow, notepads, pens and treated me to a 20×2 biscuits pack of the caramelised biscuits, very nice they are too, especially at £1 a pack!

Great with a nice strong cup of jolly old tea yer know.

P1070175Made my way to the L9 bus stop, slipping some seeds to the pigeons en route.

The rain came a bit heavier then.

The folk who got on the bus all seemed a little miffed and unhappy, the weather I supposed.

I wish I’d taken the photographicalisation I did through the bus window a few seconds later. Then I might have caught a shot of the poor lad rushing over the crossing as her umbrella blew inside out.

P1070177As I passed the end of Clumber Street the rain had reduced the usual numbers of folks gadding about.

Mind you, they still need their coffee don’t they?

The journey back to the Woodthorpe Court flats was strangely bereft of gossip and laughter?

As the bus pulled up at the flats, I realised I’d forgotten to go and pick up the prescriptions. Well, fancy that me, forgetting something! I can call tomorrow if I go early enough because I think maybe Steve Age UK councillor might be calling about sorting the bank stuff out. Then again? Oh, no: The Morrisons delivery is coming then the Social Hour… oh dear!

Got the bits away, WC’d and got the laptop on graphicalisationing, Facebooked a bit, then got this updated and did the Newspaper funny post.

P1070188Nice meal apart from the Asda (Walmart) BBQ sausages, they were a bit of a let down tastewise.

Terrible!

Still, rated it at 8.2/10 for the rest of it like.

The potato cakes were grand.

The new second-hand Recliner began slipping just a bit as I was sat in it? Jerking perhaps a better word? Humph!

Inchcock Today Mon 9 May 16:New second-hand Reclining Chair purchased and used today!

Monday 9th May 2016

Kept waking up all through what was left of the night after I did eventually manage to nod off. Rose, well after 0600 hrs, and realised I’d had time for at 03 01ABCleast one odd dream, and odd it was too. I kept climbing out of tram onto the roof and ascending up a ladder that was next to my Crock-Pot, my giant Crock-Pot. Every time I got near the top of the ladder (No idea why I was climbing it in the first place), I’d fall off landing back in the tram and starting again?

Later I made and added this graphic as the memory was firmly in my mind.

I had a tiny emission of wind from the rear-end. Phew! In response to this very welcome indication of the urgency of my attending the Porcelain Throne, at last, I hobbled to the bathroom. A hiatus from the painful exertion, but no bleeding at all, so that was a good start to the day.

Brewed a cup of char and took the medications, then got the laptop going. Checked the emails, Google Calendar and did the graphicalisation above. Then I started this and finished the Sunday Inchcock Today.

Nipped in the bathroom and did my ablutions, and now smelling fresh, I got the rubbish bins into the refuse-shute.

Got in the lift and down and out of the building and walked to Bottle Bank in the car park area. Met Deana the coordinator for the flats en route and she told me about someone selling a recliner chair for £300 and said she would ask about it for me. Gave her a nibble and continued to the Community Shed and Julie had a nibble.

A lovely natter at the bus stop ad got the bus to Arnold. Dropped off at the Sainsbury store and got some potato cakes, some Anya potatoes and fresh cream cakes. (Ahem! Guilt mode adopted)

P1070159Hobbled to the Wilko store and got some Dettol lavender disinfectant (On offer at £2 from £3) Then on to Asda (Walmart) and got some Irish Batch bread, pots of mandarins in orange jelly, a parsnip, and carrots.

Passing the marketplace with its one stall open.

Very sad!

P1070160To the bus stop to get the L9 back to the flats and had a chinwag with some of the ladies that were also waiting.

The bench-seat was still looking a little the worse for wear.

Back at the flat and noticed coming in that a washing machine was available, so I got the laundry bag and accoutrements and nipped down and got the machine going. Had a gossip or two with some other tenants and listened to their woes. When they left, I had a bash at the crossword book.

P1070162Moved the washing from the cleaner to dryer, and nipped back to the flat to update this tosh.

Got the drying collected and back again to the apartment.

I rang the chap who was selling the recliner chair to see if he’s sold it yet. No, it was still available at £300. So I told he I’d be around in a while to have a decker at it. He was at 48, on the eighth floor at Winchester Court.

When I arrived the flat was a duplicate of mine. Very nicely decorated. When I got in his front room, I was rather surprised to see three recliner chairs in there. The new one he was sat in, a very nice looking in brown to his right, and in the corner, the beige one he was selling. He explained a few things and I took the decision to go ahead and by it. The horrible colour was no problem, as I could use the extra large throw I was using on the old chair to cover the unattractive shade of it.

I told him I’d get in touch with the caretakers to see if they would assist in moving it to my flat and return to advise him of the situation. On the way back to the flat I saw Robert and the other caretaker and explained the situation to them, and they agreed to help and would be free in half an hour. I rang the bloke back and reported this to him.

The caretakers found me, and along with their wheelbarrow cart thingy, we went to flat 48. The man told them how the back can be taken off for transporting and they got on with it.

P1070163I thanked the tenant and paid him his money. Getting the thing back to Woodthorpe Court was a bother. They got in and positioned for me.

The only sad bit of this was having to get rid of the old swivel chair the Duncan Robertson had given me when I first moved into the flat to make room for this one. Having fallen-out of this swivel chair twice I thought it safer. At least now, when Duncan visits he has a comfortable chair to sit it when we have a cuppa and natter. I really hope he understands why this had to go. Thanks, Duncan, it was sad to let it go after your kind gesture. Cheers mate.

The quilt/cover fitted okay, and I know that somehow this is cool in summer and warm in winter. And the controls for the chair are simple enough, just two buttons. It doesn’t look too tidy, but no problems from me with this.

Set to updating this again.

Got the Anya potatoes on the simmer and prepared the carrots, onions and turnip roasting in the oven.

Did an order for groceries from Morrisons to be delivered for Thursday twixt 0730 – 0860 hrs.

P1070165Superb meal tonight. Fresh tomatoes, Anya Potatoes, roasted red onions, carrots and parsnips, polish ham with the last of the American BBQ sauce and a couple of slices of Batch Bread.

A deserved 9.25/10 rating.

Did the washing up and got myself ensconced in the new second-hand chair that the caretakers had moved and set-up for me. Tried out the mechanism for the first time, all working.

P1070164The large throw from the old chair sat next to it looking as if it felt sad (Hehe) covers it nicely without slipping off or moving me about.

Got the goggle-box on and was soon nodding off each time the advertisements came on.

I felt glad I had got this chair now and still have one for Duncan or BJ to sit on in comfort next to me while we have a chinwag when they visit. Still sorry I had to make way for it with moving Dunc’s swivel chair he gave me, though.

They can try out the recliner too! Maybe, Sister Jane and Pete when they can find time will love a sit and play in it I think.

I’ve got to get into the habit of putting is down before trying to get out of it, mind! Hehe!

TTFN all, from a resting in his new second-hand recliner Inchcock!

Inchcock Today Sun 8 May 2016: Flat-Bound and had a deep-thought… Oh yes!

Sunday 8 May 2016

02 Griz

I stirred into mock-life late again (For me like) this morning at 0525hrs.

A bit concernedly, there was no call to porcelain throne again, I thought that problem was sorting itself out, but no. Hehe! Still, the waterworks were working well enough if not too well today.

P1070155Hobbled into the kitchen to made a cuppa and take the medications and as I perused the landscape outside, saw through the light mist that a Pedestrian Footpath Cyclist had, I assumed fallen asleep on the bench, his bicycle on the floor nearby.

Odd hour for them to be about, no one else was.

I’ll have another look in a bit see if the ‘Swine’ is alright like.

Laptop on and finished Sunday post… no Saturday post. Then got on with doing more of the graphics I intend to use later, in fact, spent many hours, and still I haven’t gotten them like I wanted them to be.

P1070157Back into the kitchen to make another cup of tea, and to my surprise the bloke was still there on the bench, he’d moved position though from earlier on.

Whoopsiedangleplop number one then:

I took the tea into the living room and somehow managed, without almost any effort, to drop it on the new carpet!

I swore a little. Then tried to clean it up and ended up with the back giving me no end of gip in thanks now. Huh!

P1070156After another hour or so on the laptop, (still can’t get it right) I remembered the bloke on the bench and went to check again on him.

Two girls of the female species tried to rouse him without any luck, they were soon off.

Maybe he stank of drugs or booze perhaps?

I got some chips in the oven and peas warming in the saucepan, to have with the Krakowska cooked meat.

By gum the time had shot by this morning, well it’s well into the afternoon now.

I had a final glance out of the window and the chap had gone.

P1070158Got the fodder ready and watched a DVD while I consumed it.

Seasoned chips, Krakowska pork, beetroots, and demerara sweetened garden peas, followed by a lemon dessert.

Excellent! Rated this on at 9.2/10

I felt the day had been affected by my inefficacious efforts to understand life. (By gum, that was a deep thought for me!)

Once more, sleep did not come easily, even though I felt tired enough to? Sessions of falling off for a few seconds were rampant.

Still, there were two films on that I watched with a few nod-offs causing me to miss bit important parts of the films. Tsk!

I had a thought and wrote it down on one of my many waking periods;

“I seek Sanity and Peace, but no one has this, so I’ll stop looking!” Hehe!

Inchcock Today Sat 7 May 16: All going well until I got on the wrong bus… Humph!

Saturday 7 May 2016

08

The view from the kitchen window was a beauty to behold, I had to take photographicalisation of it. The thin gently rolling mist, the lack of people and the changing thickness of the vapour from the mist was amazing. Shame it doesn’t show up in the photo.

Woke up around 0440hrs: So tired. Didn’t manage to lift my body up out of my vintage 1959 brown imitation leather armchair with the broken arms for another hour or so, kept drifting back into half-sleep. And then it was more in response to my need of the porcelain than any actual willingness to move. Hehe!

And what an event that was! Talk about pain and blood, Huh! Haem Aroids were rampant in their desire to leak blood all over the bowl, me and the floor! I swore, cleaned up, and went to make a cuppa and get the medications taken.

Took the medications and got the laptop on to finish the Friday diary. Yesterday seemed like a dream, not a bad one at all, just that my memory had faded so fast – good job I got it down last night. I checked on the Google Calendar for jobs next week – remarkably clear compared to last weeks.

04

No INR blood tests so that helps, and I await the appointment from the skin cancer Treatment Centre and re-appointment at the GUM clinic, but I can’t help thinking I’ve missed something off? Horrible feeling!

Got on with starting a funny ode post with graphics idea for WordPress, looks like it will take a while due to my brain not fully in conjunction with fingers this morning.

Ablutions then set off on the bus, to Arnold.

02

04Dropped off on High Street and called at the Estate Agents in Arnold and asked about the house for sale on Blake Road for brother-in-law Pete.

It had already had many offers and had been sold very quickly.

Later I did a search on Zoopla and found some photos and detail. Rang Pete to tell him the price etc, then emailed him the photographs in the morning.

07Crossed over the road and took a look at the high chairs in the Arnold Sofas & Beds Centre.

They didn’t have any in that really appealed to me mind, despite there being a great range of them on show.

They ranged from £299 to £699. The gentleman was very pushy and over friendly. I asked him (As instructed to earlier by Sister Jane) could they take away the old one and how much would it cost. He was very vague and suggested I give it to a charity shop. Then I asked what the delivery charge would be, he became even vaguer just said he’d look after me? Mmm!

I then hobbled to the bus stop to catch a bus to town. When I arrived at the stop a bus marked City arrived, so I mounted it. It soon became clear, that this was not the bus I thought it was, as it meandered all through the housing estates and ended up in Bulwell on its circular route to the City Centre. So, realising we were approaching Bulwell, I decided to alight the bus go in search of the cheapo shops bargains and feed the ducks on the Leen River while there.

P1070145I limped to the Bargain shop and got a some Blitz kitchen towels and meal worms for the ducks and pigeons.

Then into Bulwell Market and to the Fulton Store in search of food bargains.

Got a pack of sausages very cheap and some Polish cooked ham.

P1070146Then back through the market, avoiding the perishing Bulwell Pavement Cyclists as best as I could.I hobbled to the river to feed the ducks.

Hobbled to the river to feed the ducks.

Not many about today, but plenty of pigeons to nibble the seeds and earthworm pellets.

P1070147Up to cath the Nottingham tram at the station.Tram

It was well full as it arrived, and I lost most of the shoulder charging and pushing contests.

I did manage to get on last in the battle against the aggressive Bulwell populace in competing to ensure each get on the tram before the other. I was a little surprised there were no injuries, least of all to me! Hehe!

I had a bit of a battle to get off the tram at the Theatre Royal stop, only just getting off it time having to force y way through the standing passengers who had no seat.

P1070150I got to the bus stops on Queen Street, the L9s had stopped running and the next 40 bus was no due for half an hour, so I had a wobble through the Slab Square.

The female populace was obviously in training for summer show-off time.

Not that I noticed really. (Ahem)

P1070149Som folks were listening to a bloke on a microphone making fart-like musical noises that were supposed to imitate music I think?

Still, the weather was nice and for once I could not see any Pavement Cyclists?

Back up to the bus stop and got on hte 40 one, and we were soon off.

P1070151 P1070152

As we passed the end of Clumber Street, I had the camera out and took two photographs through the bus window, of the Nottinghamians crossing the road, as is their usual habit, against the lights.

Somehow, I stayed awake through the whole journey, mind you, having a Derby Demolition fan as bus driver helped me out there.

Dropped off, well almost fell off the bus after my struggle to keep on my feet to get to the door as the driver jammed on his anchors (Tsk) at the stop. Crossing the road was the usual high-risk task, but I managed it without any hiatus. Walked to the flats in glorious sunshine.

WC’d put the kettle on and fodder away, all but the sausages.

P1070153Made sausage sarnies with mushrooms and beetroot, followed by two pots of desserts. Well!

The sausages were absolute rubbish! So, only a rating of 4/10 for this poor effort.

Fatigue dawned again, and all I could do then was sit in the 1950’s built damaged imitation leather armchair and try for all I was worth to nod-off. Bit of a battle for some reason again, tired as I felt, sleep was a long time coming tonight. Huh!

Inchcock Today Fri 6 May : Busy busy day! Whoopsiedangleplop! So tired!

Friday 6 May 2016

P1070136Up at 0455hrs, spent a couple of hours graphicalisationing for a particular TFZ gal (Can’t reveal anything yet?)

Then onto sorting out the Dyson and got all confused. A quick call to Brother-in-Law and he got me sorted out.

Got the paperwork sorted for when Steve Age UK arrives, then made a cuppa and took the medications. Was I sure there is another one I’ve forgotten about?

Made sure the appointment things for the Opticians, GUM Clinic and the hospital were in the bag/pockets and put the other bag with the jammies etc, near the door so I wouldn’t forget them.

Had my bath, and did my ablutions, Haem Aroid bleeding but not Little Inchy.

Steve arrived and set to phoning the Council about the Council Tax, British Gas (Gas & Electricity) and Severn Trent Water for the old house to be cancelled. I’ve got to go to visit the bank to cancel the Council Tax payments. The Electricity and Gas, Steve has to ring back next time he calls and I still couldn’t remember the other one needing to be done?

I tried out the new Dyson (Only with the carpet attachment) while he was here, it is superb! The collection box is only small, but it is so easy to empty.

Steve had another client to go and see, said he would call sometime next week to arrange a day for him to try and sort things out again.

I rang Pete to thank him for his guidance but Janet answered the phone, had a gossip and during this I remembered the other thing that needed cancelling – the house insurance!

Got the laptop on again to start this off, as I don’t imagine I’ll be in an excellent state when I get back so late from being prodded about and having lumps cut out of me. Hehe!

I’ll take the camera with me too.

P1070137Got everything ready, and set off in the hope of catching the 1239hrs L9 bus into town.

Got to the bus stop at 1230hrs and not a soul around.

Waited around in hope for the bus to arrive, without any luck.

Gave up at 1255hrs and walked up and through Woodthorpe Grange Park to the bus stop in Sherwood. Of course, this meant because the bus to the GUM clinic didn’t arrive, muggins here forgot all about it! 0101af

P1070139 P1070138

A couple of Swines on the footpath!

Got into town and meandered down through the Slab Square where the Nottingham Shoplifters had gathered to take in the sun.

07

Went to the bank, where I had a long wait to talk with an advisor about getting the old house’s Community Tax payments cancelled. But when the lady was free, she was charming and helpful, bless her. We even managed a little natter together, had her smiling anyway.

Out and up to Boots the Opticians, where I collected the new spectacles and had another laugh and a good chinwag.

P1070141Being a little early to go to the hospital (Having forgotten about the Clinic helped – Humph!), I had a walk around and down Hounds Gate. Surprisingly few folk about here too!

Surprisingly few folk about here too!

The sun was out and it was warm. So I removed my jumper and put it in my bag.

Called into the pound Shop and had a wander around inside. I bought a soup ladle and a pack of four mini pork pies to eat at the Treatment Centre. I didn’t eat the soup like, just the pork pies, see? Hehe!

When I walked to the tram stop on South Parade, there were far too many Pavement cyclists around to dare photographicalise any of them for fear of betting beat up by em!

Caught the right tram (Yes. it occasionally happens, ha!) to the Queens Medical Centre and walked down the five flights of stairs to the ground floor beneath and hobbled over to the Treatment Centre. Handed in my appointment letter and the lady gave me a bleeper to let me know when it is my turn, and I sat down and read me Holocaust book. Consuming all the pork pies as I did so. Still, that’ll mean no messing about getting fodder when I do get back if I get back to the flat later.

I was feeling so tired at this stage, I managed to nod off twice! Still, the bleeper vibrated so it let me know when to go in. Mind you, it was an hour and a half wait, but in pleasant surroundings and cute nurses passing by.

No messing with these people, very efficient and to the point. The nurse checked my details, took back the bleeper and led me to a chair in the corridor inside. Within minutes a Doctor, the one who saw me a year ago and actually remembered soon had me examined and told me he did not want to disturb the growth yet and booked me in for another appointment in two weeks so he can have a look again to see how it is progressing. He smiled, nay, laughed, when I told him I’d struggled to carry the bag with my towels, clothes, shaving tackle, slippers, etc. to get there too in case I was kept in.

P1070142Back to the Tram stop and soon caught a tram back into town – but what a ride! When the tram pulled up, I wasn’t sure who were the biggest danger to me,

When the tram arrived, I wasn’t sure who were the biggest threat to me, those rushing to get off the tram, or those elbow charging to get on the tram! I managed to get a seat, but a 22 stone bloke sat next to me and I had no room to manoeuvre to get the camera out! Well, it was the rush hour by then.

Dropped off in Slab Square and made my way painfully up Queen Street and waited for the 40 bus. No use me waiting for an L9 to the flats they had stopped running hours ago. Tsk!

Another uncomfortable and pain filled journey again, the bus was so packed the driver had to refuse some folks wanting to get on.

P1070143I got off on Winchester Street, risked life and limb to cross over the road and made my way limpingly towards the flats.

I’ve no idea what these plants were that bravely forced their way through the concrete and up the railings, but to me, they were beautiful.

Anyone know their name. Please?

Just managed to get in the flat in time to avoid a leakage!

So glad, with it being so late (For me like!), that I didn’t have to mess about making anything to eat. Made a cuppa and took the medications, a bit late, though.

Tired as I felt, it took a while to get to sleep. Heigh-ho!

Inchcock Today Thur 5 May 16: Voting, Dentist then mainly pain! Hehe!

08

Thursday 5th May 2016

09

0345hrs: Woke, glad that I did too! The dream I was having was repulsive! Full of violence, hate and destruction by mobs of citizens on the streets?.

As I sat there pondering on life, I felt the warm and wet feeling from the lower regions. No need to check, I hobbled to the bathroom to tend to Little Inch’s lesion. As I did, a feeling of something not nice about to happen came over me? An odd sensation that, my high EQ I expect.

Made a brew and took the medications and deliberated on what the day would, might or could hold for me. This morning I’ve to vote in the Nottinghamshire Police & Commissioner election. I must say I like it that they have made the poll station in our Winwood Community Shed because getting out to anywhere is hard with so few buses available. The downside to this is we can’t have our Social Hour this week as it falls on the same day as the elections.

I’ll vote for someone not already involved in the nefarious political system I think. Those political animals whose apanthropinization and intent on self-preservation and ingordigious nature, will not be getting my vote. Mind you, when it comes to proper elections, all the candidates would be off limits to me! Hehe! So then, I must pick the least harmful to the proletariat, and or least corrupt of the fainéant ones on offer!

Then, the dentist at 1300hrs for the delayed canal work. Not too keen on that, but it has to be done I suppose.

Runc DobGot on with the post about my mate Duncan Robertson, I’ve called it “Runcan Dobertson is arrested – Why?”

I just hope Dunc likes it.Just a bit of fun like.

Just a bit of fun like.

It took me ages to get the graphics right, but I enjoy doing them so.

Did y ablutions and went to the Winwood Social Shed to cast my votes for the Commissioner candidates. I noted, we had a first and second choice – does this mean it is a Proportional Vote?

P1070129On my walk to the hut, I took this photograph of some daisies forcing their way through the grass.

Bootiful!

Cast my vote, or rather votes to ensure someone will get the £6500 a year salary plus some nice expenses of course.

P1070131Set off on my walk, up through the Woodthorpe Grange Park on my way to the Dentists.

The skyline was gorgeous and I noticed a plane.

Possibly just set off from East Midlands Airport, taking holidaymakers off to some far distant land of sun and sangria?

I wasn’t jealous in the least! 01W01

P1070130Lovely and warm air today. I felt quite high in spirits. Then a lousy Nottingham Footpath Cyclist careered up the hill at speed.

Despite there being a lot of pedestrians and pushchairs and prams on the pathway.

‘Swine!’

Turned up the hill and down into Sherwood and called at the Co-op to get some cheesy cobs, a TV paper and a pack of Jersey new potatoes.

When I came out to muddle my way down to the Dentists, anther swine of a Nottingham Pavement Cyclist belted by, weaving in between the people legally on the sidewalk.

P1070132 P1070133

The first photo I took, he’d gone behind a lady, but I got the ‘Git’ later using the zoom.

I stood and appreciated the weather for a while, then because the L9 bus back up to the flats had just gone and another not due for an hour, I limped back to the park and up through it then down to the flats. The back and right arm giving me some hassle, but I so enjoyed watching the dogs happily playing in the park.

The painkiller jabs from the dentist started to wear off. The canal work didn’t bother me at all.  01W01

I got in the foyer door and noticed a washing machine was free – so I shot up (Well, hobbled) to the apartment and collected the laundry and back down and got it started washing away. I took my crossword book with me to do while the cleaning was done.

P1070134But a couple of lady tenants came and we had a jolly good chinwag!

Deans and Obergruppenfurher Julie came in to test the fire alarm.

The washing seemed to be done quickly, so I got it into the dryer and nipped back up to sort things a bit.

Started to update this page, then put P1070135the fodder bits away.

I have to say when I got the Jersey new potatoes in the saucepan to simmer slowly, they looked in a right crap condition!

Some split skins, some wrinkled and some in halves!

Tsk!

Went down to etch the clothes from the Laundry Room and pulled me back as I opened the fire door. Huh, what next!

Bending down taking the laundry out was painful. Had a laugh with a chap who came in to do his drying, and he must have spotted me wincing as I bent and he told me he’d bend down to clean the filter for me. Nice of him that!

I got back and put the togs in the airing cupboard, made a cuppa and got on with this again.

Opened Facebook and it allowed me to comment and make posts again – At last!

So, horrible new potatoes and cheesy ham cobs tonight. Eurgh!

Pondered on how I’ll get everything done tomorrow.

  • Steve is coming 0930hrs to sort cancellation of the old houses payments, utilities, etc.
  • Get myself and things ready for the medical visits.
  • GUM Clinic.
  • Opticians.
  • Treatment Centre (Must remember to take me jammies etc. with me).

Took medications and soon fell asleep for once.

Inchcock Today Wed 4 May 2016: Anther day in waiting for the Dyson delivery… Whoops, it’s come!

Wednesday 4 May 2016

04

0455hrs: Coughed, tried to remember the dream I’d been having, released a near deadly emission of the wind from the rear end and forced myself up and to the bathroom porcelain. At last, I thought, movement and relief, but no. T’was all wind and noise again.

Little Inchy was bleeding a bit, but the Haem Aroids were not.

Washed the Crock-pot up from last night’s horrible meal. Heck of a job, so I left it soaking in wash-up liquid and bleach.

Made a brew and took the medications, along with an extra Entrolax to encourage things that were bubbling and groaning away inside, to escape.

Worked at the ‘Thoughts of the day’ post and got it posted off. Then did some more work on the graphics for later use, during which: A call to the porcelain was lucky! At last, relief! A bit of blood mind, but that was to be expected.

At last, relief! A bit of blood mind, but that was to be expected.

I rang Sister Jane, she rang back and we had a mini-chinwag. Pete asked me to have a look at an estate agent in Arnold to see if I could ascertain any details about a certain property for sale on Blake Road.

Spent hours on the laptop, graphicationalisationing. Many not turning out right and frustrating and annoying me.

Aha! The Dyson is delivered when I was just getting into the bath. This meant I could get out and about today. So I put the box in the bedroom, had the bath and ablutions and I set off to get some fodder and photo’s printed at Asda (Walmart) in Arnold.

A lovely natter with some tenants at the bus stop. I walked up and down High Street to try and find the Estate Agents Pete mentioned. There were three on the long road, but none of the name mentioned. I rang Pete and found out I was looking on Front Street instead of on High Street. Tsk! So I walked the length of High Street and found it. No property at West Bridgford on display.

Walked back and into Asda, and got the photos ordered and paid for, then did the shopping. A lot of shopping, too much shopping, two bags again!

After which, I remembered to collect the prints.

P1070127I hobbled to a different bus stop to catch L9 bus back to the flats. What I noticed across the road was a bedding shop advertising it sold high chairs etc. Took a photograph of it while I waited for the bus, but two people walked in front of it as I took it.

Had to fight off the urge to fall asleep again, but managed not to miss the flats bus stop this time.

Limped up to the flat, and felt the fatigue hitting me as I did.

P1070128WC’d then put away the fodder I’d bought.

I was not up to doing much then. Felt well drained and had a dizzy as I started to make some ham sandwiches Ritz biscuits for me nosh.

Didn’t feel up to doing any cooking with the sudden fatigue.

Took the medications and had a session of ‘Rumpole of the Bailey’ DVD watching. Few calls to the porcelain and no concentration at all, the mind was doing its own thing and throwing all sorts of conceived problems at me?

Convinced I was going doolally I had some querulous thoughts on my abilities and capacity to cope with life. I was fretting again! Humph!

Inchcock Today Tue 3 May 16: Launderette, Asda shopping and Whoopsiedangleplops!

07

Tuesday 3 May 2016

Didn’t wake up until 0615hrs, and with no desire or need to use the throne in the bathroom. Mmm?

Bits of the dreams remained, something about me hanging on hooks in a cellar-like place and having bits of my body hacked off now and them by men in white coats wearing bobble hats. Apparently they were feeding the chunks of my torso to endangered species and hung a photo of the aforementioned animals on the brickwork near me each time they lobbed a lump off?  Hey-ho!

Steve Age UK might be contacted me today, no doubt if he does I’ll be out at the launderette with BJ at the time.

Made a cuppa and took the medications, cleaned the pots and then cleaned me in the bath and abluted.

Still no urge to pass anything. Most unusual for me this!

Got the laptop on and finished Monday’s post, started this one and did some graphics ASAP as BJ will ring me in a while, to say he’s coming to pick me up.

BJ did ring a few moment later, he’ll ring me later before he sets off to collect me bless him.

Made another cup of tea, still no sign of needing the porcelain?

BJ rang me, he’s on his way. So I hurriedly got everything ready and went down to the foyer to await his arrival. After a while, I decided to walk to the end of the road and wait there for him. He arrived ten minutes later and not in a good mood. He’d been trying to sort out the registration for his wife’s new car, but only met with obstructions, so he apologised for temper before we started off.

Got to the launderette and started off the washing. Managed to have a gossip and laugh with the laundry gal.

Steve Age UK phone me, he’s going to call to see me on Friday AM before I go to the Cancer Clinic to sort out what needs cancelling with the bank.

Eventually got it done, and took one massive bag of done washing to BJ’s car and we went to BJ’s neighbour so he could see how she was and what she needed. She is 83-year-old and her son has had a fall. Then off we went to Asda (Walmart).

We split up and agreed to meet up at the bench near the tills when we had done our shopping. Unfortunately, I was delayed by a Whoopsiedangleplop while shopping. (Huh, again!). I was reaching up to get some bottles of flavoured spring water and managed to drop one as I took it down. It bounced unceremoniously around the aisle and hit a woman’s trolley, who screamed and the staff came running… I bent down to retrieve the plastic bottle and hit me head on the cart. Boy if looks could kill, I’d be a gonna now!

This delayed me getting to BJ and he rang, he was out in his car waiting for me and not happy about it either. I limped out having a dizzy on the way to the car and told apologised for keeping him waiting and explained what had occurred.

He ran me back to the flats almost in silence. Made our farewells and he then departed. I struggled into the foyer with the bag of washing and two bags of fodder. A kind lady held the inner door open for me so I didn’t have to put the bags down to open it. Very kind of her that was.

I got the minced beef on the go in the Crock-Pot, put away the washing and then sorted the shopping out. During these procedures, I must have had to wee-wee around five times, but no heavy duty evacuations yet today at all?

Made another cuppa and took the medications, then I got the laptop on to update this and get some graphics started for me next funny post.

Getting a bit cold now, so I searched for my bobble hat, and after a while, found it on my head. Sad, I know!

P1070126Dined on the minced beef and onion dinner followed by a pot of mandarins in orange jelly.

Not very good at all the mince, despite my best efforts to season it with spices and beef gravy mix.

Another disappointment of the highest order! Could only give this one a 3.5/10, horrible it was! Tsk!

No movement from rear end yet.

I put the TV on and kept nodding off so often, decided to get my head down properly. Made no difference, I kept dreaming, waking, dreaming waking…

Tsk!

Inchcock Today Mon 2 May 2016: Flat Bound – No buses today

05

Monday 2nd May 2016

I stirred gently into life around 0550hrs. Amazed I could remember nothing of the dreams I knew I’d been having? Went to make a cuppa and take the medications, and found I’d not finished the washing up from last night. Naughty Boy!

Took a peek at the calendar for the week: Today: No INR blood tests due to it being a Bank Holiday. Tuesday: Launderette, shopping for fodder, Wednesday: Possible delivery of the Dyson cleaner upperer (Could be any day really) Thursday: Vote for the £60,000 a year Nottingham Police Crime Commissioner and then the Dentists for me canal work, Skin Cancer Clinic on Friday. Of course, if the haematology or cardiac appointments come through it could be fun if they clash with any of the things already arranged and the Nottingham City Homes give me an appointment for the bath/shower changeover, which they tell me will take three to four days to do… I’m all confused now…

P1070122Posted the Sunday diary off. Spent a few hours preparing some graphics for later use, posting the Out of Euro post, then made some early fodder.

The view from the kitchen window when the rain stopped.

I spent a while using the binoculars while the food was cooked. I still haven’t got them set up right yet, but bigger problems are lurking to worry about.

When will the Dyson be delivered and will I be in? Will it come while I’m at the laundry with BJ then doing the shopping tomorrow, or on Wednesday? (I expect not because I’ll be in all day Wednesday unless the 12-hour notice cardiac appointment comes meantime) Or on Thursday when I’m out Voting or at the dentist having the canal work done? Maybe Friday, when I’ll be out at the Skin Cancer Clinic for hours having tests and test-extractions? Why can’t I find a way to clean the hobs, on the electric cooker? Why has Little Inchy’s bleeding eased off so much? Why can… (Oh sorry, got carried away a bit there!)

P1070123The meal, mashed potatoes, petit pois and lamb steaks looked exquisite.

But it was crap! The potatoes too wet, the petit pois sourish tasting and as for the lamb steaks that did look inviting indeed:

Horrible! Tasteless! Dry!.

Best rating I could give it; 4.5/10. A bit of failure I’m afraid – no more lamb for me for a while until the memory of this dull, bland effort fades, at least.

Then I spent many hours doctoring the photographs that Duncan took and those of him I made for later use in CorelDraw X7 and CorelPaint X7. Far too much time as this prevented me getting any cleaning up done again. (Hehe!)

Fatigue kicked in,  despite my not doing anything even remotely physical today, and I settled to watch the TV. I enjoyed the ‘Evening with Victoria Wood’, yet felt so sad at the same time.

That set my mind off wandering and pondering on so many relevant and unconnected things before I nodded off.

P1050958I woke around 2345 hrs, shaking and trembling for a few minutes (Dream?). And realised I’d not done any WC activity for hours now?

Caught a site of a lost love framed photograph, and pined a while.

Nodded off again.

TTFN all.
