Inchcock Today: BJ to the rescue

Tuesday 17th March 2015

Not a wink of sleep all night – no passings on the porcelain, but not much pain – apart from the bleeding haemorrhoids that is.

Did a lot of coughing and snuffling throughout the night though. You watch, I’ll fall asleep when I don’t want to

Can’t understand it really, I feel so drained and tired but the body won’t let me sleep… You watch, I’ll fall asleep when I don’t want to – Huh!

All night reading or Facebooking.

Took me medications around 0500hrs.

When it was time to get up I could have nodded off – Blanglewurzelspurt!.

A bit gloomy again this morning.

Got missen spit and polished and waited for BJ to arrive, he said he’d be here about 0750hrs.

0100medsGot an email asking me to see the chemist to discuss current prescriptions suitability, relevance and assessment with him.

0101Only Fred came down for breakfast this morning when I popped me head out of the door to see if BJ was arriving.

BJ arrived and lifted me and me bags of laundry to the launderette, that, I appreciated more than he could have known.

When we arrived Mandy was on duty and greeted BJ with a welcoming smile and they had a chinwag – BJ going in the back with Mandy and having laugh – of course I was not jealous at all – 0103oh no, good luck to him if Mandy finds him attractive, entertaining, good looking and socially attractive, younger than wot I am, richer than wot I am, more hair than wot I have, taller than wot I am, wittier than wot I am and has an ebullient personality wot I ain’t… oh yes… (Hehe)

We got the washing done and BJ lifted me to Asda, where I spent a good bit on stuff I didn’t really need.

I got some of those microwaveable burgers that I like so much, they didn’t have any potato-gratin meals in stock, got some bread-thins, beans, bbq sauce, pots of jelly, etc.

0104On the way in, in the the foyer they had a palette of Irish Gnomes at £15 and£25 pounds each, many had been sold for the St Patrick’s day celebrations.

After doing me shopping I was waiting for BJ near the exit when two people going out of the store set off the alarm – what happened then confused me a bit:

0105The security guard on the door took a few paces towards them and the lady siad “I have nothing, me no buy today…”

The guard said in reply “Oh okay then alright” and returned to his desk?

I reckon that Asda must be the Nottingham shoplifters delight!

John lifted me home and carried the stuff in for me, I thanked him and he said he might be going to Loughborough train museum in a couple of weeks and would I like to go with him – Yes please I said.

As soon as BJ had gone I got the dizzies – bad this time.

Can’t remember much until I was making a cuppa and felt so tired (As I expected with getting no sleep like) and just had to five in and get me head down.

I woke up about four hours later and nearly did a whoopsiedangleplop and took me morning medications in error fer me evening ones but just stopped missen in time.

I had no hunger that I would normally have at this time of night and started to do this diary when another dizzy attack came, not so bad this one though.

I must after the Iceland nosh comes tomorrow go to the computer shop and get me battery sorted out.

I’m a tad confused at the moment – suppose it’s with the forced falling asleep?

Again feeling so tired now – must give in to it again, sorry not much exciting occurred today.

Monday 16th March 2015 – Inchcock Today: Medicationalisationing tasks again, Tsk!

Monday 16th March 2015

Inchcock’s off to Hospital Again… It’s the nurses yer know, they get him all excited like…

Got up had a very rare situational situation for me this morning – I wanted to, but could not carry out my desires activities on the porcelain! The opposite of diarrhea this time, a definite circumscription in me movements – or lack of movements – oh dear… just when they’ve sent my self-test Cancer screening kit as well.

I feel so guilty for being so lucky yer know. (Hehehe)

Had a wash shave and scrub-up so I’m smell nice for me nurses at the Queens Medical Centre and gals at the clinic this morning.

Might not have time to do me contributions to the League of Mental Men today, I got up too late and I’ve got so much on to get done medicationalistically  speaking. I’ll do me best to get back in time and then stay awake.

Got the nibbles ready for the nurses and made sure I’d got me record card, bus-pass, camera, mobile etc in me jacket pocket. (I think)

Started the laptop and realised I’d not taken me medications – hang on I’ll take em now cause I’ve just made a cuppa…

That’s them taken, I’ll have a hobble into town now and catch a bus out to the QMC.

0835hrs: See you later… I hope!

0101carDreary sky as I set off on walk into town.

On Mansfield Road I noticed several buildings up for sale or rent that indicated things are not too good hereabouts – mind you child minder/nursery seems to be doing well enough – many of the Nottingham folk might be professionally out of work but they are still producing their apprentice yobbo teeny-bopper ankle-biters in great number to ensure their full benefits from the Government.

As I pressed on an uncaring Nottingham 0102Cyclistpavement cyclist came passed me at speed from me rear, then cycled across the pedestrian crossing and into the NCN college across the road – I imagine he must be a tutor or teacher there – he’s a Git who’s too scared to cycle on the road because of the dangerous traffic, but has no compunction about putting elderly folk at risk from his illegal cycling on the pavement anyway. Huh!

0103MRUp and over the hill down towards the City Centre I heard several sirens/klaxons and got me camera out, but the vehicles, three police cars and a paramedic had already passed going out of town by the time I did get it out, I did catch a forth police car though, shame cause it would have looked good and I could have used the photo later in a post if I had caught them all at the same time.

Onward down into town and caught a bus out to the Queens Medical Centre for me INR Warfarin level tests.

0104QMC1The weather was still murky but not cold with it.

The usual mayhem in the hospital car parks with heated exchanges with the security men and those desperate to find somewhere to park their vehicle.

Good job I took me new second hand book with me, because I found the 0105QMC2waiting area – that on my last appointment Thursday was devoid of folk – was crammed to the rafters so to speak.

The longest wait I’ve ever had there.

By the time my number was close to being called, I realised I was not going to make it to the clinic appointment in time so as not to be late.

When I got into the blood room I explained this to the nurse and she rang someone with the details and they rang the clinic – then passed back another appointment date for me – now that was nice of them because they were so very busy.

Bit of job after taking the sample stopping the bleeding today. Handed them their nibbles and those for the clinic staff too that I would not need now today – tickled her pink that did.

0107dressI caught the  first bus into town and wandered up to Trinity Square where I fed the pigeons and spotted  new shop on the Walk – I must say I liked the dresses in the window – very nostalgic, reminded me of the girls from my youth. (Don’t laugh – oh go on then!) .

I’ve just noticed the reflections from the 0106TrinPigglass in the window – more signs for closed-down retail businesses to let. Sad.

As I moved to the bus-stop I fed the pigeons again.

As I descended down Trinity Walk towards Upper Parliament Street .I espied that one of the retail units that had been empty for months had opened as a sort of Art gallery.

In the window was some… er, Art dedicated to and of Marilyn Monroe.

0108MM Very pricey though.

Of course nobody was in the shop/gallery apart from the two staff.

I don’t think Nottingham is a City of Culture really.

Mugging, shoplifters, antisocial scrotes, drunks, Big Issue sellers yes… .but not cultural types much.

Got the bus back to the hoppit.

A poor chap on the bus (passenger) kept swearing out very loud and this obviously upset some of the passengers. I imagine the bloke had tourette syndrome or schizophrenia. I sometimes see him in Sherwood walking along and booming out ‘F-off’ curse words with such venom and so loud, I felt sorry for the chap, but some passengers were getting angry with him – not that he was aware of this.

Again tried to use the porcelain without any success.

Had a microwaveable steak in onion gravy with curried beans and some bread with a cuppa to take me medications with.

Did this diary – laptop battery dying fast. I must get to the computer shop tomorrow after the laundry and shopping at Asda to get it sorted out – else I’ll lose me internet and that will make me a sad laddy.

BJ (Big John) called, he is going to pick me up in the morning to carry me washing bags to the launderette for me bless his cotton socks, then going to take me shopping with him to carry the stuff home to help avoid irritating me pulled muscle. A gent that BJ!

Did some Face-booking and faded fast into nodding off mode… still no movements… oh dear!

Inchcock Today: Sun 15th March

Woke up remembering dream again – by the time I’d WC’d it had all gone – no notes on me pad either – Tsk!

Made a cuppa and took me medications – ribs no worse, rear-end bad and bleeding, Arthur Itis fair, Angina good and no reaction to the fish and chips I weakened and had for nosh yesterday.

Stated laptop and did a post for the Soz Satire site. (Usual message now about the wrong power supply attached). Posted it off for consideration to Danny Soz.

IMG_0116When I went down to make me tea a leaflet had been posted through me door – an interesting one too… well curious.

Om Maha Shakti Astrology Centre – Address: Kirkuk Restaurant (First Floor).

“To many people have suffered at the hands of the wrong information being presented. He has been able to overturn all these injustices and turned it all around with true light of the angelic realm!”

*Pitra Doshra are only in your horoscope

*Any problem in human life etc…”

Well he seems to have all the answers – I must call to see him… Hehehe!

Did some facebooking then got missen ready for a little walkabout.

IMG_0117Took a waddle around the block – the sky looked threatening again as I did.

I thought there were very few folks about even for a Sunday- then as I turned into Church Drive I spotted a gang of reprobate apprentice yobs kicking over the bins along the side of the road and two CPO’s entering from the far end only to be greeted with two finger signs and cat-calls from the ganglet of gangly genetically challenged young gits.

I decided to go another route as a police car passed to join in the melee.

IMG_0118Down Hucknall Road and into Lidl to get some mint biscuits – ended up getting Pork Pie, biscuits, beef slices, bananas, sauce and Polish cooked sausages.

I had a dizzy coming out of the store and decided not to take a walk but to return back to the flea-pit.

Avoiding Church Drive enroute.

I stopped and put the bag down to get me hankerchief out of me pocket to blow me nose making sure I didn’t put it back in the pocket with me camera in.

Later when I transferred the sky and pigeon photos to this diary I found that somehow I had taken a perfect picture of me bag of shopping. Couldn’t have took a better shot if I meant to.

IMG_0119The pigeons came down – two unnamed ones today for their nosh which I had in the bag for them.

I thought the low Warfarin level might be causing the dizzies to return – going in to the haematology dep’t yet again tomorrow for more tests.

I had a Cornish pasty and beef slice for nosh – then fell asleep, luckily I’d set the alarm for me medications – not that I heard it, but brother-in-law Pete rang and that did wake me.

No sooner had he rang off I nodded off again!

Stirred after a couple of hours and started this diary.

Heavy eye lidded now again… Tsk!

Inchcock Today: Sat 14 Mar 15

Saturday 14th March 2015

Woke with a jump, WC’d and found notes about my dreams I’d scribbled, I can even remember bits of them now – so with the aid of the notes (that I didn’t remember writing) here they are:

I seemed to have been located in a dessert… well in America, an Amoco petrol station and café at the front and behind was a factory with machinery like that I used to operate at Carter’s pop factory, with a security cabin somewhere.

I was serving in the café and Rachel Carrera (Authoress and WordPress blogger of great beauty) came in – I was overawed when she knew and spoke my name as she ordered something, I think Ribsteaks and Dr Pepper and leant towards me and whispered “You have someone breaking into the building at the back Inchy, I saw them as I drove up.”

I was then in the factory searching, the machines I recognised as the actual ones I’d worked on, but no pop bottles, I do not know what they were being used for… I ended up walking on thin ledges high on the wall when I forgot why I was there? I returned to the café and Rachel was gone. I cried.

The second dream I was working in the Co-operative store no. 118, at Arleston Drive Wollaton as I did on in 1965 or thereabouts. I was rushing around very busy and in walked of all people Mother? Although she was alive when I worked there I was surprised to see her – she was dressed very smartly in a leather coat, had gold teeth and had permed hair – we spoke but I can’t read me own writing about this part of the dream – I could not get over and was staring at her massive three gold teeth all the time – and fear of her being alive and kicking sent me into a panic and I think I feinted in the dream – I came round as she was emptying my wallet.

I wish I could remember dreams like this every night.

Went down and made a cuppa and took me medications.

The ailments seemed no worse than yesterday – in fact the torn Intercostal muscle was far less painful than yesterday, Arhtur Itis fair, Anne Gyna twinging only, Duodenal ulcer fine and the haemorrhoids painful but not bleeding.

I still feel a bit low and wearily tired but all in all, perhaps a harbinger of a better day portends?

0601Coreldraw9 froze again, tried Serif Draw that did the same, managed to get the header for this page done.

Yesterday I took of photo of the unreal red tinged sky and atmosphere outside when I took the rubbish out – and could not find it – well I did today?

It’s not been touched up or anything – unreal eh?

Thought I’d have a bus-ride out to Mansfield today, take me camera and call in the market to have a look around.

0601bHad good scrub-up and started feeling a bit better and set off for me walk to town to catch the bus into Mansfield.

The sky was gloomy but it was not cold at all – mind you, I was well wrapped up like.

The pigeons came down to be fed and I sneaked them some seeds.

I hobbled into the City Centre and to the bus-station without incident and sorted which bus to catch, getting the ‘scenic route’ one so I could take some photographs hopefully from the seat.

0601b1City centre – Carrington – Basford – Bulwell – Hucknall – Annesley – Kirkby – Coxmoor – Sutton then into Mansfield. A day in the country to me!

I presented my bus-pass to the machine and the driver had a grumble about the roadworks that he had got to get through later.

I got me crossword book out and had a few goes at them – but as the bus got busier the noise of folks on their mobiles and screaming kids made concentrating hard, so I put it away and held me camera in hand in case owt interesting came into view or happened.

0602As the bus queued in Hucknall I spotted the usual response from the Nottinghamshire driver who had parked on double yellow lines – she just put her warning flashers on as she parked about 4ft from the kerb.

Bless her cotton socks.

As the bus got close to Annesley we 0604came to the road works the driver was talking about and joined the end a damned long line of waiting traffic.

As far as the eye could see!

Half an hour later we got through the temporary traffic lights – and it was comical to see several road-workers leaning on their shovels talking to each other and yawning – mind you, it was not funny to the driver.

0603We drove on and just before Sutton-in-Ashfield the road cleared and the driver drove like mad – I thought we must have lost a lot of time?

I realised when we arrived at Sutton bus-station why – it was shift changeover and he was swapping with another driver just coming on duty.

0605When the bus arrived at Mansfield it seemed very quite with few people around at first.

As I left the station to wonder down to have a look at the market it became busy with folks.

Two blokes were having a scrap outside one of the pubs and no one took any interest at all?.

I moved on down to the marker, not many stalls on today, I was about to take a photo and espied a second-hand book stall – that was it, lost myself in them for ages.

0600bookEnded up buying two books – Antony Beevor’s D-Day and Joshua Devine’s Forgotten Voices from Dunkirk. If Beever’s D-Day is half as interesting as his Stalingrad and Berlin books it’ll be a treat.

Looking forward to reading this one so much, I’ll keep it in me bag so I can read it on me bus journeying.

The D-Day one is a collection of statements and comments from the ordinary soldiers who were actually there on the beach at Dunkirk.

0608I walked around the outside of the market and came across the mobility shop.

Amazing the designs of scooters they had on offer for the Mobility scooter drivers to scare the pants off of elderly pedestrians with nowadays.

The one that is a mock motorbike model was on sale for £459, but they started from £129. Not bad considering there is no legal requirement for the dangerous uncaring drivers to insure or tax them – and no licence or training required at all!

I wondered up the hill to the B&M store and had a look around. I got some Jamaican Ketchup, crisps and a packet of biscuits.

0606As I came out of the shop I saw that the old pub was still up for sale or rent.

This would be a challenge to make pay for anyone taking it on.

The alleyway opposite it has had two murders several muggings and a rape committed on it in the last year.

0607I popped into the Pound Stretcher store next door. They had a selection of ‘Cuddlies’ for the kids that it appeared were really well made.

I left getting just some Lion bars to nibble.

Made my way back to the bus-station, and the arthritis was not too bad considering the walking I’d done.

0601bI caught a Pronto bus back to Nottingham, this one goes a more Direct route.

The heating on this bus was very high and I felt myself having to resist the urge to nod-off before we’d gone a mile.

I had camera to hand and when we passed 0609a farm/bedding plants for sale place I think it was, I spotted they had a small wind turbine on their land.

The bus was moving at a decent pace and I had to take the shot quickly.

A few times I nodded off for a moment or two en-route.

I only just realised it was my stop in time. Tsk!

0610When I got off the bus a spur of the moment thing overtook me and I called in the fish and Chips shop and got some – I knew I’d regret it later… I was right!

The sky beckoned me to take its photo.

Fatima and Fred came down to be fed.

I ate the fish and chips soon as possible and enjoyed them… within minutes I realised why I’d stopped eating fish and chips, now me stomach is reminding me.

Watched a Law and Order DVD then started the laptop.

Tired early again, but with so much less pain… I perhaps shouldn’t have said that?

Inchcock Today: Friday 13th March 2015

Friday 13th March 2015

Woke with a jump thought about the dreams I’d had a while then remembered I’d not taken in the bins in from yesterday – so painfully got up (Ribs and angina) and poddled down to correct this oversight – noticing on the way that the sky had an atmospheric pink tinge to it, so I took me camera with me.

When I went out I realised the bins were still full and that it was bin-day today not yesterday. Tsk!

Then I took a picture of the sky – realising when I got back in to add it to this diary, I’d left the card in the laptop. Sad really.

Made a cuppa and took me medications.

Usual messages about incorrect power supply box etc when opening the laptop.

I tried Coreldraw to see if it would work today. Touch wood, it seems okay, but then I’ve not tried any high memory stuff yet, just the header for this post.

IMG_0102I’m sure I can still taste the herbs from the meal I had yesterday – it tasted grand.

Shame about me making a faux pas of the sky photo.

Ah, Friday the 13th for anyone believing in such stuff – a risky day.

I must say, today has been a day of tiredness, weariness and doing very little.

I fell asleep after I had an early nosh (Cornish pasty [Tesco own label not good])

Must have gotten three unanticipated hours in when I was awoken by the mobile phone ringing. It was BJ asking how I was going and did I need owt bringing in fodder-wise.

Nice that, no one else had called to see how I was going.

I thanked him, he apologised for not calling yesterday and told him not to worry mate.

His calling was fortuitous as if he hadn’t I would have missed me evening medications – we had a natter and then I took the doses – damned good job I hadn’t missed me Warfarin what with the INR level being so low.

WC’d and then went down to make a cuppa.

Found the INR report and dosage notification from the hospital had been delivered and put it in the drawer so I’d know where it was for next week.

Gawd I still feel weary and tired though.

Did some graphicaliationing until Coreldraw9 froze and I did not have the energy to go through resetting again.

Unbelievably tired now, no concentration.

Poor old mule.

Sorry no new photographs or anything worth reporting really, but thanks for checking.

Take care all.

Inchcock Today: Bother on me walk today 12/03/15

Friday 6th March 2015

A decent nights sleep last night – in between waking up a good few times but overall I reckon I got a good five hours in – I remembered some bits of the dreams I’d had too… so will get them down now before they evaporate into the ether:

A rather large but attractive lady and three men (legal types I think) were chasing me through a fun fair – I got on a dodgem car and drove it off the fairground onto the road – made it to motorway – where a St John’s ambulance stopped me and they asked to see my driving licence – as I got out of the dodgem blood streamed from my rear end – the ambulance-men rugby tackled me to the ground, pepper sprayed me and pulled me pants down… they arrested me for failing to take reasonable care of me haemorrhoids and driving under the influence of out-of-date Yorkshire tea bags – Found myself incarcerated in a brick cellar with my old Smith-Coroner word processor, Cyril me beloved old cat, with box’s of curried beans used as a desk I was sitting on, an electric chair which I had to keep getting out of to allow the Ambulance-men warders room to electrocute someone every hour or so…

There was more, lots more I know – but the facts faded fast into the unretentive mist of my foppotee mind.

I took me medications and WC’d – only to find that me piles were bleeding profusely in reality as well as my dream… of course as soon as I used the porcelain the pain started – now this is not necessarily a bad thing – as it took place above the pains from me torn Intercostal muscle, which means that the damage under me ribs must be getting somewhat better and slowly healing? Mmm, I’ve said this before I think. Not really confident about this scenario I rubbed in some more pain-gel just to be on the safe side like.

My other ailments including Anne Gyna and Arthur Itis seemed content to give me a break this morning – hope they keep it up.

Started this diary.

MPs20915hrs: Email received from the doctor – Warfarin INR level far too low at 1.7 they have increased dosage. I’m not sure if I’ve missed any doses or if the whoopsiedangleplops and torn muscle might be affecting the level?

Worrying innit?

IMG_0091I had a scrub-up and got the things ready for the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop.

Only Fred came to breakfast this morning when I took rubbish out to the bin.

I set off struggling a bit with the bags.

IMG_0092When I got on Mansfield Road I thought the new street lights reminded me of ‘The Day of the Triffids’ so took a photo of them – but they don’t show up very well.

Hey-ho.

Over the hill and down into Sherwood proper

IMG_0093I spotted that the pub had removed the scaffolding from the frontage, thus allowing me to take a better photographicalisation of the humorous sign above the doors.

I must say this tickled me when I first saw it.

But the hilarity soon turned to anger, IMG_0094frustration and verbal confrontation as I moved on down and up the hill on Mansfield Road.

First a git on a mobility scooter came belting passed me nearly clipping me one, as I got to take a photo of the imbecile he’s just clipped a woman further along the road and she was giving him some signals and a verbal message as as he just sped on from her making a woman with pram take action to avoid a collision.

I wish I could have caught up with him.

I recognised his scooter as one of those outside the pub nearly every day.

IMG_0095Moments later a BMW weighed down with dozens of packs of Cola pulled off the road between some safety fencing near the pelican lights to unload into the Pizza Roma place.

He got out looking daggers at me taking a photo, sneered said something I could not understand, but it wasn’t ‘Good morning’ I’m sure.

IMG_0096This prompted me to question his sanity in driving onto the pavement while pedestrians were there and so close to the pelican crossing.

He just swore at me and ignored me – I bet he sells a lot of Pizzas with an attitude like that. The lady who he came closest to hitting was angry, but she walked away without complaining.

I moved on a little uptight with the hassle and got to the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop and left the goods for them.

IMG_0097I liked the look of the picnic basket in the Hospice window and took a photo of it – I imagine there will not be many like that one around today.

The pottery was not in good condition but it evoked memories for me.

I crossed the road and took a photo towards Carrington from the hill as IMG_0098the weather or rather sky began to look threatening.

I could smell the food from the Continental hot food store and crossed back over the road to see if they had any fodder left for sale as the aroma had got me taste-buds going.

Naturally this late in the day there was not going to be much choice or fresh cooked stuff.

There was a choice of four however but I didn’t recognise any of the food and asked the assistant what the stuff that looked like grass was.

I could not pronounce what she told me it was – she said it had beef, beans and herbs in it. Anyway I asked for some with the last of the roast potatoes they had.

Popped it in me bag to reheat later at home and crossed back over the road and up the hill into Carrington.

IMG_0099As I neared the top, two, I say two pavement cyclist nits had stopped to chat with a member of the opposite sex who had a pram and everyone was having to walk around them.

I mentioned this to them as I drew close and one of the gentleman pavement cyclist suggested I go forth and multiply as he gave me a seriously threatening glare.

If he thinks that was going to scare me off he was wrong… it just happened that I had to get home to reheat me whatever it was I’d just bought – otherwise I’d have had WWarnLiethem both I can tell yer!

IMG_0100I plodded on eventually arriving back at the bomb-site to be greeted with Fatima, Fred and family wanting there dinner.

First things first – I got the nosh in the microwave. Gave in six minutes (Cause me microwave is not very powerful like) but it needed a couple of minutes more – it smelt delicious, a bit like a good beef goulash. It was a tad greasy but boy what a great taste.

Gobbled it all up in minutes, even the roast tatties were excellent.

Watched a bit of a DVD while I ate it, then started Coreldraw9 to finish this diary on and do some graphics for the TFZers.

The laptop did some funny actions and I had to restart it – then Coreldraw9 crashed, and then again and for a third time it froze – each time I had to force close the laptop and restart, each time getting messages about the power pack being either not powerful enough or not recognised?

Then I noticed the battery was 57% (55% now) and Not charging.

Really fed-up now. Driven at – verbally abused and now technology is having a go at me!

I’m not a happy lad, in fact depressed and sad. Tut!

Inchcock and his 86 hour Christmas shift – Security Career Woes

The 86 hour Christmas shift in Security Control Room

GCVinIn my ten years with the company, I had never had a day off sick, and had only been late on duty once.

With so many of the lads knocking off with sickies, and then my fellow controller joining them, I ended up working straight through for 86 hours over the holiday period.

One of the supervisors brought me in a Christmas dinner, and the night men took me off for two hours each night shift so I could wash shave and have a nod to keep going.

The Operations Manager thanked me profusely.

The Owner thanked me.

The Night Manager offered his appreciation for my commitment.

Two weeks later I was made redundant as they had out-sourced the control room duties to save cash in their effort for financial survival.

After a couple of years of being sneered at and ignored by the Job Centre plus people I gave up trying to find another job at 64 years of age.

I am now happier with my life (Using the term loosely) than I have ever been.

The hernia then the heart operation, angina, arthritis, haemorrhoids, cancer of the bowel, duodenal ulcer, torn Intercostal muscle, going deaf, and slowly losing my sanity is okay to me – as long as I do not lose me laptop, internet connection or Cyber-friends.

TTFN all.

Inchcock Today: 11/03/15 – Incorporating the graphicalised marathon walk to the QMC

Wednesday 11th March 2015

0301CarringNot a good night again, dream, wake, dream, wake, WC, dream, wake, etc.

I did manage some kip around 0400hrs to 0520hrs, when I sprang awake – I could not remember any of the dreams again. Tut!

Went down and made a flask of tea, during which sadly I had a couple of dizzy spells – (just when I thought it was safe to boil the water – hehe!). I ran the scolded fingers under the tap for a minute or so and applied some cream.

0302MR1The interscostal muscle was I think a little less painful though, and Arthur Itis was good – Anne Gyna was a bit persistent again, the ulcer no bother though – damned dizzies might be set it for a while – just a feeling – I hope not, I hate having them. That feeling of impotency and inability to do anything to stop them is frustrating.

Got to go to the QMC today for me INR Warfarin level tests – it’s raining outside at the moment, so I’ll do an anti-rain dance in a bit (Only joking!).

0303GBWC’d – during which I got a sense of what one of the dreams last night was about, but by the time I’d discovered the bleeding piles and tended to them I’d forgotten again. It’s odd that to me – I can remember remembering but could not remember what I’d remembered? Does this happen to others?

I potted about and got the nurses nibbles in the bag ready for later – made sure me INR record card was in me pocket with the bus-pass and me Emergency Card was in me jacket. Put me camera in the bag too.

0304GBLaptop on to start this diary.

I must try to get back from the hospital and try to get some graphics done for the TFZers, hopefully the fatigue that overcame me yesterday will not prevent me and Coreldraw9 will not crash – I’ve given up on Serif Draw x6, that seems to crash too regularly.

I decided that as I was feeling a bit better today – I’d walk it all the way to the QMC for me INR Warfarin level tests so as to catch up on me walks I’ve missed while feeling poorly. (I get these impulses every now and 0305GBthen – I think it’s something to do with being thrown in the canal when I five years old?).

I had a good scrub-up and got the things ready for the outing.

Determinedly, and foolishly full of confidence I set off nice and early.

The graphicalised tale of the journey to the hospital is in the graphics on the right hand side of the post.

0305StPI thought you might like to scroll down and read me comments wot I printed on the photographs to get the best out of them like? Please let me know if this idea was not a good one – I’m used to failure and promise not to sulk if it didn’t work.

The entire journey took me 1 hour & 57 minutes.

Well above me record time, even me average time for this journey.

0306StPBut then again I was not racing or rushing missen, and I did stop many times to take the photographs like.

The weather was kind throughout.

Worth repeating was that at every traffic lights there was somebody wearing a plastic or cardboard billboard advertising Pizza Hut collect only: Any size Pizza at £6.99.

Every one of the poor lost soles walking around looked absolutely pee’d off and depressed.

0307ArtI wonder how much they get paid for standing around on street corners looking twits?

Poor devils…

On Triumph Road – now taking over by college students establishments – long gone are all the business that used to dominate this road – no Player’s factories now, Transport depots, Coopers etc. the new college buildings especially the multi-coloured big one shaped like a wedge or something out of Thunderbirds and some of the students looked a bit like puppet character ‘Virgil’ from the 0308Pizzaprogramme as they passed me by.

Heheh!

The ‘wedge’ building on the University of Nottingham Jubille campus there seems to be having work of some sort done on the exterior ever since it’s been built in June 2009 I think – surely the architects must be a little embarrassed by their claim that: ‘The three new landmark buildings and a striking new piece of public art create a gateway and a strong new identity for the campus, emphasising the university’s modernity and 0309Cl1sustainability’.

Pogglewash!

I see the first part of Triumph Road is now being got ready for being built on by the University.

This area was occupied the old Gasometers from the gas works – they closed I think about 1980? I’m not sure and cannot find an actual date on the web either.

0310Cl1The land is still not considered safe enough to build on top of apparently.

I had a burk-on-a-bike come flashing passed me from behind as I went underneath the walk-over in one of the new buildings.

I hate it when some unthinking pratt of a pavement cyclist does that to me – 0311Cl1in fact these dung inhabitants are possibly my most hated species of turd after politicians and paedophiles.

Yes, they are my most hated species of turd after politicians and paedophiles!

As I walked along Derby road on me journey into the unknown and stopped to cross the pelican lights – another 0312Derbyrat-bag on a bike came from behind between the pedestrian and crossed part way making us (the poor pedestrians) move out of his way.

I didn’t know I could hate this much.

I completed the journey and arrived in the bright sunshine at the entrance to the QMC.

I made my way to the haematology dep’t and much to my surprise found only a handful of people waiting to go in – then I realised that I’d set out really early and so found it a delight to have my number called out 0313qmcwithin minutes.

There was a new nurse who took me samples and we had a nice chin-wag.

After she professionally dealt with me, I left them their nibbles and cheerily left walking out into the sunshine again and over the road to catch a bus into town.

0314qmcWhen one came, I was told by the driver I was too early to use me free pensioners bus pass.

I did feel a fool – did it again!

I got off and had a look at me mobile to get the time and it was 0925hrs – so only five minutes before I could use it.

0315busSo I had a walk for a few bus stops.

I caught a bus at the Olde Lenton Lodge bus stop into the City. (The Lenton Lodge is now a storeplace for Mercedes – so sad!)

The bus was nearly full (I imagine with the gaggle of us old folk using our bus-passes, Hehe)

I got off the bus off early anf walked down to the library, where I another dizzy. Sat down and read a bit of a book by Harry Secombe’s brother Fred Secombe (Anglican Priest in the Church of Wales) entitled ‘ How Green was my Curate’.

It was so humorous I got carried away with it, two and a half hours later I left the library.

I poddled to Tesco in the Victoria centre and got some bits.

Bread Tins, Fresh Cream Apple turnovers, Cornish Pastiesm Bacon/Cheese Burgers and some fine Frank’s.

Oh and a nasal spray to help clear me clogged nose.

0315noshWalked towards the bus stop, dropping some seeds and meal-worms for the pigeons en-route to Trinity Square.

Took some ‘Bling’ photographs for the TFZ gals.

Caught the bus okay and dropped off at the co-op and walked back to the dump – feeding Fatima and Fred on the way.

WC’d. No blood.

Made a cuppa and had it with one of the apple turnovers but was not impressed with it, all sugar and hard bits of apple – I may write to David Cameron about this…

Started (usual message about incorrect power pack) laptop and did a graphic for the header – halfway through Coreldraw9 froze – Huh!

Tried again and it let me – slowly!

I later looked for me INR record sheet but could not find it. I sat puzzling what I could have done with it – aha thunk I – bet I used it as a book mark at the library when I had to call at their porcelain…? I’ll call in tomorrow and ask them – although if it is there, the address is on it an they might send it on to me – I’ll call in tomorrow.

Tonight perhaps Cornish pasty and potatoes? Franks and beans?… er… Burger and beans? Spoilt fer choice ain’t I?

Inchcock Today: Tue 10th March 2015 – The Pain Persists!

Monday 9th March 2015

Here is the first part of me Diary for today: Written in sad rhyme because I knew I would be housebound again today due to the ailments playing up – and not wanting to risk carrying me bags of laundry to the launderette and making the pain from me intersostal torn muscle any worse.

Thus I had the time to be a little creative in me blog of the day – and the concentrating helped keep the agony I was in at bay! (Haha).

0201

I made another cuppa and stayed close to the porcelain in the bathroom. After making the above ode and planting it in the post – I called Big John to tell him I won’t be going to the launderette and to give my love to the girls there… he had the speaker on hands-free and I heard Grizelda laugh as she heard me talking. As long as that happens – me making someone laugh – I’m a happy Nottingham lad.

Did some Facebooking (5 hours) and crossed me fingers and used Coreldraw9 to try to make some graphics up.

Can’t concentrate for some reason.

Then the internet went down – all the lights were on go and okay – but no connection.

It came back on a few hours later – Phew!

Must remember tomorrow is me INR Warfarin level checks at the Queens Medical Centre.

Tired now – and I’ve done nowt really.

On checking before posting I realised what a mess I’d made of the graphic – too weary to bother sorting it now.

TTFN all.

Pain, Rain, Visits to the Porcelain, a dose of topical Cocaine and more Pain – Inchcock Today – Mon 9/3/15

Monday 9th March 2015

Pain, Rain, risky visits to the Porcelain, a dose of topical Cocaine…

I tried to get up to attend the urgent need to visit the porcelain – the pain from the ribs and knees ensured a painful battle to get there on time, and I was only just successful!

Made a cuppa and took me medications, gelled me ribs again.

Spent hours on graphics and posting to LOMM blog site.

Eventually pulled myself away from the laptop when I remembered me clinic appointment. Tsk!

Cleaned myself up and applied the creams gels and lotions and painfully went downstairs not looking forward to going out really with the hassle from the ribs and knees, but needs must.

Made sure I’d got me bus pass paperwork and samples for the clinic before I left.

0102As I left the flea-pit, the local pigeons Fatima and Fred came down with Suzie and Cyril to be fed – naturally I complied.

Half-way to the main road and both my hearing-aids packed up at the same time, not the batteries this time because they beep when they get low – or had I not heard the little bleepers?

No time to go back and check or de-coke them so I carried on and caught a bus to the clinic at the City Hospital – not concerned about it this time, its only a check to make sure the lesions on me ‘Inch’ have healed properly.

Straight in and was seen to in minutes by a young lady doctor who said she was going to give me an injection of something that had topical cocaine in it and was I or have I ever been addicted to cocaine before. I said I’m not addicted now thank you, apart from being addicted to the internet and I laughed, which was not a good idea because it hurt me torn intercostal muscles under me ribs like mad and she didn’t appreciate my humour. I could tell by the way her glare burnt through me glasses.

I caught a bus into town and pleased that the ‘Inch’ was given the all-clear I got me crossword book out and had a go at one. Now this I think took me concentration away and when I looked up and saw the bus was nearing Carrington I hobbled up and rang the bell, getting off of the bus walking along the road – and realised that I meant to stay on the bus into town to catch a Bulwell bus. Wotta plonker!

Still it gave me a chance for a walk into town and keep the knees working like – so I did.

0103The sky was looking a little unwelcoming as I set off into town.

I walked through the happily yobbo-free twitchel onto Mansfield Road near Lidl’s and plodded on.

No incidents en route. I decided to go into Victoria centre get some bread-thins from Tesco and up and out over the walk-over to take a photo of the traffic below as it started to rain.

In Bulwell, I must get some nasal spray from Boots, microwave sausages and blackcurrant/ice cream lollies if available from Fulton’s Foods.

0105Got to the walk-over and the rain had almost stopped.

Managed to get a half decent photographicalisation of the Nottinghamomian citizenry playing chicken with the buses at the junction of Upper Parliament Street and Milton Street again – as it seems is their want and passion despite the death and several accidents that have occurred at this junction lately.

I caught the 17 bus into Bulwell and found myself despite the ride being likened to being a navigator in the African Safari leg of a rally, falling asleep again. This seems to be happening a lot recently?

The usual accompaniment of passengers shouting down their mobiles and at the bawling apprentice-yob kids I still nearly nodded of a couple of time?

0106I got off the bus in Bulwell and walked a different route into the market place.

I went in the shop on the right in the picture to see if they had any gents socks at decent prices but they had none at all.

Then I called into Fulton’s Foods to find they had none of the items in stock that I required.

0104 On my walk around to the Boots store I espied another piece of Nottingham Street Art left on a window sill.

I called into Farmfoods but they had none of the items I was looking for in stock either.

I made it to Boots as the rain came down rather persistently.

0107Not many folk about today, but still it is a Monday… yes it is a Monday. (Just checking like)

As I got me list of things I wanted out of me pocket I came across a note that I can’t remember writing to remind myself that on the 24th February I was to attend the ‘At Risk Residents meeting in St Johns church hall – and not to miss it!’ Huh! Not much I can do about that now.

I popped into B&M to see if they had any of the Curried beans or tinned goulash back in stock – they had neither.

Not one of more successful shopping trips today!

0108Fed the pigeons in the empty Market Place then went to the bus-station as the rain began to belt it down.

Got the bus back to Carrington.

The driver, Stirling Moss got me back to the flea-pit in record time – at the cost of me rib-pains.

Put me bits away and made a cuppa, laptop on (usual message about the wrong adapter – but the computer man who sold it to me say’s it’s the right adaptor?).

Facebooked and blogged a while.

Oh dear… I’ve just sneezed – the agony! Still yer don’t like to complain too much do yer. (Grobblebolts!).
