Inchcock Today 24 Sept 15: By gum I got a lot done today, now shattered!

Thursday 24th September 2015

Woke 0015hrs.

Mouth felt like sandpaper, but surprisingly the toothache was no worse.

Cleaned up the kitchen stuff, WC’d and made a cuppa.

Started laptop to start of this diary.

Checked and replied to emails.

Did some Facebooking and graphicationalising.

WC’d.

Placed order from Morrisons for delivery tonight – got some big tins of sweets in to give as Christmas pressies while they were on offer price.

Another cuppa and took me medications, then started sorting some bags out.

P1020079Over four hours later and I’ve taken me corner stand to pieces and cleaned the wood, touch it up wood scratch liquid and left it drying ready for reassembly and polishing later.

I’ve cleaned the book case and sorted all the DVD’s out. Had to stack the box collections on the top to get em to fit in.

Notice the Certificate on there?

I found that in one of the bags of DVD’s I was sorting. Guess what it was for?

P1020080Then turned me had to reassembling the corner stand for me photo’s to go on. But I was not happy with the finish, too many blemishes and marks, so I’ll give it another session and try to get it right later.

I used two of the empty Ikea clothes rack boxes to put some cardboard and 01topj2paper in for recycling. I’ll take it down to the caretakers room later, the rubbish chute is far too small to get it down.

There’s still much to sort, but I’ll get there… wont I?.

Please!

I’d better do it now, then by some miracle I can maybe find the caretaker and ask him for the fourth time for some recycling bags. Tsk!

I’ll go now.

Back in a bit…

Saw one of the caretakers and asked him if they had any of the orange recycling bags and he had a look and gave me the last of his stock. I told him that I had been sorting me DVDs out and had many to give to the charity shop tomorrow… he answered “I’ll be up to take them when the Robert the  other caretaker arrives…” I was going to add if there is any you want you can have them.

Back up to the flat to get the mail for the previous tenant and down to the Community shed.

Gave them some nibbles but I forgot to get the letter – Tsk!

Back up to the flat and did a bit of work on the corner stand, but it’s going to take some time to get anywhere near right. Leaving it a bit longer this time before touching up again.

ALynda BettySantDid some graphics.

aaaTyler3I found this old photograph of yours truly in a box today: Of course you can tell just as soon as you it, it was taken thirty years ago.

WWarnLie Whoops!

Wanted to get a bath, but didn’t know what time the Caretakers would be calling.

Think I’ll nip down see if  find them and take the DVDs to them.

Off again down the lift… No sign of them.

Steve arrived and we had a chat about things. Although the flat was in a mess with all me moving stuff to see where it might fit it Steve was impressed with the progress I’d made.

He got onto the phone and called and made appointments with two possible house clearers for him to meet Monday and Tuesday to get the house cleared. Bit of progress there then, Good!

He then spoke with Pete, explaining everything that had took place. This was a bit unnerving for me as I thought things might get heated between them but it sounded as if they were in agreement with things – and of course, my phone bill will now be enormous after the forty minute call on me mobile. Tut!

 Still it went well.

Steve took the flea-pit key and some of me DVDs with him to watch, and told me he’s to get back to me after meeting the van-men and getting quotes from them.

I was well shattered and worn-out by then. But in good spirits with hopes that things might get moving soon… at last!?!?

P1020086Made me nosh.

Rated it as 8.2/10, and ate it with relish then nodded off again.

I wanted to have a bath but with the Morrison delivery due, I checked the corner stand to see if it was dry but it wasn’t so made a cuppa sat down and fell-asleep once more.

I kept waking and wondering if I’d missed the call on the intercom – but felt sure I hadn’t, as, as long as leave the door open I can usually hear the loud ringer on it even without me hearing aids in.

Well gone the time the delivery was due, the mobile phone rang. It was the driver who’d been caught in horrendous traffic and was a few miles away. No problem I told him, drive safely I’ll see you later.

He arrived, and to expound the situation, a bottle of kitchen-spray had leaked in one of the bags. Luckily it was in a bag with me curried beans and bottle of shandy so nothing was ruined. I felt a bit sorry for the bloke, he was already late and didn’t need this delaying him further.

I moved the stuff into the kitchen and cleaned the tins and bottle, put the rest away, looked around at the state of the place with the corner-unit on a sheet in the middle of the room and thought “How have I managed this, the place looked in more of a mess than ever! Tsk!

Put the other stuff anywhere and was now free to get a bath, but felt too tired to bother now.

Made a cuppa and realised I’d missed me medications. I’ll suffer for this… oh dear.

Kept nodding off for a few minutes and waking again – pee’d me of that did. Eventually very late I  must have got to kip – much needed it was I think, as I didn’t have to get up for the usual WC visits.

I’ve a feeling that today was a landmark day somehow?

Oh so tired and drained, I’d overdone it  reckon. The place looked worse hat before despite all me efforts. But mildly proud of getting things done.

Tomorrow I’m going to see Jane and Pete with their pressies for Christmas.

Wed 23 Sept: Inchcock Today: Hassle!

Wednesday 23rd September 2015

P1020069
Morning all!

0630hrs (Late for me) Woke up in the chair, hobbled to the WC.

DSCF0200-002Me legs were swollen again and Arthur Itis was visiting me knees fingers and hands. Reflux valve sticking again, bleeding Little Inch and haemorrhoids and toothache persisted.

The skin cancer wound started stinging and itching again?

Hey-ho.

Thought of the dreams I’d had while I was on the porcelain – by the time I’d finished made a cuppa and got the laptop on few memories remained. Somehow I was back in boats/ships again, and frustrated… no details came back to me. Annoying that!

Made another cuppa and took me medications, and extra 30g codeine taken.

Finished off yesterdays diary of Woe and started this one.

Checked emails – Did some Facebooking and posted yesterdays diary. Graphicationalised.

Got a bath and shave, got me things ready and went to the community shed with letter I’d received for Margaret the previous tenant. Gave Deana and Julie their choice of nibbles.

Caught bus to town, then another out to West Bridgford to sister Jane and Pete’s abode.

P1020070Gave them their bag of treats. Had a Chin-wag and rollicking received.

Had a bit of fuss with their cats.

We decided that I would ask Steve of Age UK to ring Pete, who had some ideas for selling the old house quicker. I said next time I contact Steve I’ll get him to ring Pete. Pete was not happy P1020072that I didn’t ask him first.

Jane managed a smile and showed off her home grown figs.

I walked on to the centre and caught the bus to town.

Dropped off near the Victoria Centre and had a walk around for a while until time to catch the L9 bus back to the flats.

P1020076Slipped the pigeons some seed near the back of the council house.

Walked through the slab-square.

The square was full of little ganglets of Nottinghomians.

Not very busy elsewhere.

P1020077Caught some citizen ignoring the traffic lights as a tram passed by clanging it’s warning bell.

Along Long Row and up inton Street, that was it’s usual busy self.

Turned into a street to avoid nowadays if you don’t want to be stopped by Big P1020074issue sellers, beggars, street artists or consumer service interrogators.

Walked to the top and into Upper Parliament street and left along to the Post Office bus stop.

The L9 arrived and I got on and fell asleep without any problem.

Kept waking and nodded off again and was lucky when I woke just as the bus was arriving at the flat bus stop.

Steve rang minute later – I told him about Pete wanting to speak with him, he sounded a tad put-out by this. Wanted to know why. Told him I thought they were worried about me not things sorted in time before the reserves got too low. After another chin-wag he said he could be free tomorrow but wanted to know what time. I said I’d ring Pete to find out then ring him back.

Rang Pete, who said any time after 1400hrs.

Rang Steve back and he said he’s be at the flat about 1400hrs then.

Tension was in the air…

A letter from Nottingham City Homes arrived about Virgin Media making folk sign a contract with them. Like they had with me. A bit confused about this? Sent email to Dean Walker telling her I’d signed a contract and asking for advice.

I had a walk into Sherwood and called at the Co-op shop to get some beetroot and apple bread. They had some Cheese and Jalepeno bread on sale and I tried one of those, even not knowing what Jalapeno was. Got some other bits so I could use me £1 off if I spend £10 voucher.

Walked back through the park, was going to take some photographs of the birds in there, but had not got me camera with me. Tsk!

P1020078Had curried beans, hot dog sausages and the new bread followed by mandarins in jelly with cream cheese.

It was horrible!

Rated this culinary disaster at 3/10. Huh.

The jalepeno in the bread tasted like red hot peppers, I could still taste the burning flavour hours later.

Took me medications.

I washed the pots left them to drain on the draining board, made a drink, sat down and nodded off.

Woke hours later at well gone midnight. Mouth felt like sandpaper, but surprisingly the toothache was no worse.

Cleaned up the kitchen stuff, WC’d and made a cuppa.

Started laptop to update this diary.

Checked and replied to emails.

Did some Facebooking and graphicationalising.

Tue 22 Sept 15: Inchcock Today – Up and Down… down mostly… Tsk!

Tuesday 22nd September 2015

Woke up in the chair 0320hrs. Reflux valve, bleeding Little Inch and haemorrhoids and toothache the first things I noticed. Hehe!

To the WC, ‘Little Inchy’ creamed, haemorrhoids bleeding badly, stomach still churning away, but the toothache seems to have eased a little since I woke up.

01topj1

That’s not the sun, it’s a reflection from me flash – Can’t touch me for it. Hehe!

Got the laptop on.

Made a cuppa and took me medications.

Facebooked catching up with wot I missed yesterday. Checked emails.

Got missen a good spit and polish ready fer the Morrison delivery of fodder.

Morrison’s delivery arrived and I put the stuff away.

BJ rang he’s on his way. Got ready and went down to meet him, rather pleased with myself for remembering to take me mobile, camera, hearing-aids, shopping list – all four items on it, the washing, powder, softener and change for the machine with me.

Got as far as the lift…

Went back and collected me hat.

When we arrived at the launderette I tried to contact Steve at Age UK – no answer again. Left message asking him to contact me.

01topj2Two hours later we were all done and BJ lifted us to Asda (Walmart).

I had to get to their loo, hobbling hastily I got there just in time.

Had a good wander round, and ended up spending only £18.15.

That includes a pack of good thick socks at £6.

Bottle bitter orange mixer, mandarins in orange jelly, Washing up liquid, chicken sausages and two new items, well one new one being made again. Walkers have started to produce the Marmite crisps again, si I nabbed two multi-packs of 6. Also spotted some 01topj3Sweet potato chips in seasoned oil – expensive mind – £2.59 for a tiny bag of em. One of the TFZ gals recommended them so I had a go and got one.

Took a photo of some ‘Bling’ for the TFZ gals.

The toothache started throbbing again.

01topj4The sun was coming out when we left the store.

Got an ear dropper from the chemist on the way out.

Not too busy today, far less than usual when I used to go regularly with BJ on a Tuesday.

Tried ringing Steve at Age UK again – I do like wasting my time don’t I? Huh!

01topj5BJ dropped me off outside the flats, and I hobbled up with the two laundry ans shopping bag to the flat.

The lift was making some disturbingly odd sounds?

WC’d and got me dinner started, then laptop on and updated this tosh.

Took a long distance photo with new Panasonic camera of the top of the path into the woods – the first time I think that I’ve looked in this direction without seeing owners or dogs or ankle-snappers, Park Cyclists or yobs – in fact no one was in site?

01topj6Made me nosh and thoroughly enjoyed it – another 8.9/10 for this one. Very tasty!

The Sweet potatoes were grand.

Cleaned me pots, opened the blister-pack that held the ear-dropper in it – tugged at the edge and what do yer reckon? – Whoopsiedangleplop, When it finally gave I hit me blooming chin and set the tooth off again! Grrr!

One more final attempt to get in touch with me councillor Steve from Age UK – failed again.

Back on the laptop to catch up up to here, then tried the Serif Draw again – never really got into this package, I’ll see how it goes.

Waste of time, I can’t get used to it at all.

Lost hours with it – fruitless hours.

Sept15 aaaTyler2Facebooked and put some of me graphics on Facebook.

Watched the TV for a good while. Until I fell asleep for a minute or so and pressed a button on the remote and woke with the screen bare bara notetelling me there is no DVD in the unit?

I tried me best to find out how to clear it back to the TV. An hour or so later I gave up and turned it off, disconnected then reconnected the goggle-box, and still the same message came up. Then, hard to understand how this happened I know: I dropped the remote and caught it as it hit the chair arm – and the TV came back on?!?!?

All this because John Lewis who sold me the set sent a different remote to that in the instruction manual, and I could find no details or guides for this replacement control on the web anywhere. Tsk!

Nodded off again eventually, woke up with toothache.

Huh!

Mon 21 Sept 15: Inchcock Today: Depressed!

Monday 21st September 2015

Woke up in the chair 0305 hrs, ‘Little Inchy’ bleeding, stomach still churning and feeling guilt-ridden and pathetic.

Made a cuppa and got the laptop started.

Had a supportive email from ‘Ratty’ about me sorting problems – thanks Ratty.

To WC and tended to bleeding ‘Little Inchy’.

Still feeling  but down, I thought of the days demands. I must get diaries done, check me emails, keep up with Facebooking, then get a bath and shave and ready the things for the INR Warfarin Blood level tests at 1230hrs at the GP surgery.

Then I try to call Steve from Age UK to see what he plans to do about selling the old place. No answer.

According to whether I get through to him and an answer, and what he plans, I’ll see if I can get time to sort a bag or two out.

Started this diary.

An unwanted and unexpected feeling of utter depression built as the day went on.

My lower legs blew up hard like balloons, the bleeding, the toothache, the angina and more bothersome than ever was the reflux valve. Yet none of these were the reason for my depression – I think.

P1020060

Photo taken from under a bus shelter to avoid gerrin me camera wet!

Again, all I did was graphics and internet until I got ready for me walk to the GP surgery.

It was pouring with rain, I put me big coat on and set out on me poddle to the surgery.

Called in the Winwood Community shed, no one there.

Got thoroughly soaked by the time I got to the surgery.

Made appointment for me flu jab, the nurse did me blood tests.

Went to Lidl and got some bits. Bus back to Sherwood, walkd through the park back to flat.

P1020061Made me nosh and didn’t even wash-up after it.

Odd that feeling like I do at the moment I continued to nibble biscuits, curls and iced lollies for the rest of me waking hours?

Collapsed in an odd sort of maze and did nothing in the work or sorting departments.

Watched some TV for ages, but my mind was not on it.

Didn’t even put the laptop on!

A deep melancholy took over. But somehow, as soon as I got me head down I nodded off as if my life depended upon it?

Woke up when BJ rang to say he’s pick me up in the morning twixt o800 > 0830hrs and lift me to the launderette bless him.

Woke a few times, can’t remember the dreams but I knew I’d had them.

Then on one occasion the toothache was bad so I went to get some painkillers and Whoopsiedangleplop! – the reflux valve stuck and i really thought “This is it” – amazing how although struggling to breath, I seemed so calm about it. Lasted a couple of minutes, then cleared, I could feel the selling going down and being replaced with a pain I’d not had before. Ah-well.

Sorry this diary might seem a tad morose, but that’s how the day was.

No doubt I’ll spring back – like Arnie! Hehe.

TTFN all.

Sat 19 Sept 15: Inchcock Today: Knuckling down to get some sorting done – At last!

Saturday 19th September 2015

IMG_0042

The Sun-set last night

Woke up in the chair 0620hrs: WC, ‘Little Inchy’ bleeding, stomach churning and feeling so guilty for not getting any sorting done this week.

I decided enough was enough of me making excuses for not doing me sorting, and I must spend less time on the internet (Which I love of course) and get sorting attended to at least a start on the paperwork.

So me diaries might be a bit shorter than of late. (Thank heavens you say? Hehe!)

Cleaned up ‘Little Inchy’, made cuppa, took medications, finished off yesterdays diary and started this one.

Checked me emails and Facebooked a while. Got a reply to me email to the police moaning about the Nottingham Pavement Cyclists:

Dear Mr Chambers

I am writing in response to the email you sent to the police concerning cycling on the pavement in and around the City Centre and Mansfield Road.

My colleague who copied and I in are only responsible for Mansfield Road from the junction of Hucknall Road to the Junction of Valley Road with the rest of Mansfield Road heading into the city being covered by other beat teams so can only speak for what we do.

I can confirm that Dan and I do regularly stop and challenge people cycling on the pavement, especially on Mansfield Road, to give advice and guidance and we also report the worst offenders for potential fines or even a summons to court by issuing what we call a Traffic Offence Report (TOR)

The power itself is a discretionary power and I have confirmed with Nottinghamshire Police Law Clerks that a number of factors have to be taken into account with this offence, such as traffic flow (especially at rush hour), how many people are on the pavement, manner and speed of cycling and the age of the alleged offender. The minimum aged person we can serve a TOR to is 16 years, we can and will still stop and speak to the people under the age of 16 to give advice but further enforcement would not be possible by way of a TOR, however we will instead look at things like youth intervention/education.

I hope this answer helps to allay any fears you may have had and rest assured we will continue to challenge cyclists.

Kind Regards

CPO 9916 Craig Moralee

Carrington

Community Protection

Not that it did allay any of my fears mind! No reply to my  noticing none of the bikes had any horns/bells on them. Or they come from behind, ride too close etc. Or the fact that one my photo’s of the offenders shows a policeman nearby while the burke on the bike road along with one hand, no lights or horn on the vehicle and he was texting as he rode on the pavement?

At least I got an acknowledgement from this pretend policeman. (See further down form on me walk into Sherwood today).

Sandra01dDid a graphic for the TFZers, then forced myself to make a start on the paperwork… what a job, but it must be done!

Stomach still churning.

Set about sorting the paperwork for a few hours.

Had a bath, but also a Whoopsiedangleplop suffered: I slipped getting out. Banged the side of me head and started the tooth I had done Thursday aching away! Took an extra Codeine. Then another one.

Swore and cursed a bit, then set off on me walk into Sherwood via Woodthorpe Park to get some Beetroot and apple bread and large potatoes and strong cheese to make into Baked cheesey potatoes.

IMG_0043On me way up the hill to the park I took a photo of me shadow on the gravel path.

Why I took a photograpicalisation of me shadow I don’t know.

When I got into Sherwood I called in the paper shop and got a copy of the cheapest TV paper. Then to the Co-op and got me Beetroot loaf, tomatoes, mature cheddar and somehow, a cream cake fell into me basket?

IMG_0047 IMG_0046

I took photographs of two Nottingham Pavement Cyclists when I came out of the shop.

I thought about sending these by email along with some others to the PCO who replied to my email.

We, I’m sure he’d appreciate knowing how ineffective the police are in preventing this criminal activity in Nottingham.

But that would just be me being sarcastic wouldn’t it… hehehe!

As I walked back through Woodthorpe Park, two blokes with their dogs caught my attention on the football pitch:

01topaThey seemed to be playing their own devised game with the dogs catching the balls in mid-air. They seemed so happy it cheered me up a bit.

I think the dogs won 3-0. Hehe!

Made me way back and got me spuds in the oven and updated this diary.

When I got up to check the spuds progress a dizzy-spell overcame me, but I kept upright this time. I assume this was caused by me earlier Whoopsiedangleplop?

01topDid some graphicationalising for later, in thanks for me supporting card and message wot-I-got.

Then took the spuds out and halved them, mashed the flesh with the cheese, vinegar, oil, butter, salt and black pepper, refilled the skins and back in the over to brown em off. (Couldn’t resist nibbling a bit that was left over in the bowl like).

No meat today, just cheesy-baked potatoes, tomatoes and half of me Beetroot bread.

When I’d got them back in t’oven, I cleaned what I could: the new masher that worked a treat, trays, knives, fork, basin etc just in case I fell asleep after eating it, then I’ve only got the eating tray, outer tray and cutlery to wash afterwards. I’ve just reread this sentence… hope you can understand it folks?

P1020048Plain good grub nosh today then… enjoyed it so much I gave it 8.9/10!

Did the washing up and then tended to ‘Little Inchy’ again.

Shame.

Got the washing up done and cleared IMG_0048up.

Well, toothache and a rumbling tummy to contend with, and feeling rather tired again for some reason, I settled down with a cuppa and an ice-lolly to watch the TV, an old Colombo film.

Got as far as the first advertisement break… Zzzz.

Unfortunately I kept waking every few minutes it seemed and gave up at 0300hrs got up, WC’d and finished this diary off.

Tsk!

Sun 13 Sept 15: Inchcock Today – A day in to get some work done… but…

Sunday 13th September 2015

01topa

Woke at 0615hrs: Full of memories of some of me dreams, the one I recalled best was of me in a frogman’s outfit that had cockroaches inside the helmet, I was at the bottom of the ocean, and a fish (fresh-water Carp like one) was trying to break into me helmet? Duncan Robertson, well his head anyway, was floating around and talking to the fish – no idea what he was saying like. For some reason I was searching I think, for me hearing aids on the bottom of the ocean? Duncan disappeared and returned with a note on a school easel and pointed it out to me, it said “Ferry on the way, don’t burnt your porridge?” Lots happened then but I can’t recall what exactly, only that I found myself on a bus driving along the sea-bed and Duncan was the bus conductor, and he hit me with his ticket machine and threw me off the bus without my frogman’s outfit, but handed me a sign printed ‘Help’ first, then started eating the cockroaches?

I got up and WC’d then made a cuppa and took me medications.

Laptop on and got into finishing yesterdays diary off and doing some graphic preparation work, and created the dream-scene above.

Then I put an advertisement on the Streetwise sight to sell me microwave cooker.

Got carried away and me tea went cold, made another and when I was in t’kitchen noticed a lady with her two dogs 13 floors below outside on the field.

01topa2aThis for some reason cheered me up, seeing the dogs tails wagging furiously and her giving them fuss and attention, so I took a photo of them with me Panasonic camera.

Not one of me best, but they were a long way away – that’s my excuse anyway I say. Hehe!

Still didn’t get me second cuppa though – Little Inchy was very sore and leaked a bit of blood again, so I went in t’bathroom and tended to him.

Not complaining at all though, me other ailments were all apparently giving me a rest this morning: The Ulcer was nae bother at all, the reflux valve had gone down nicely, the skin cancer wound was only itching a bit and no pain whatsoever, Arthur Itis was not bad at all, Anne Gyna was calm too. The hernia only gave me little twinges, and the bruise from me last Whoopsiedangleplop had all but disappeared, so only Little Inchy bothering me at the moment! Great! Add to this the being cheered up by seeing the woof-woofs so happy, I’m feeling very contented for once.

I sent a message to the local police about the many pavement Cyclists on the roads locally:

Good morning,
I’m writing to ascertain what the law really is about cyclists riding on the pavement locally to me. (anywhere really I suppose).
Being elderly and not so nimble nowadays, every time I go out to Sherwood I see cyclist on the pavements.
I realise they may find it dangerous on the roads – but not one of the dozens I have photographed and hundreds I have seen have had a honker, horn or bell on their bikes.
My being partially deaf this would not help me much anyway I know.
I have had cyclist on the pavement coming from behind at great speed, many of them using the mobile phone whilst riding.
giving me and others I’ve spoken to a nasty shock – on three occasions I’ve been hit by them, none of them stopped afterwards either.
They in escaping danger for themselves are creating danger and hassle for the less able pedestrians.
If they are too scared to use the roads they shouldn’t be on a bike.
I enclose just a few of those I’ve caught with me camera.
This is a serious worry and concern for me, and many others in the aided-flats i live in now, after moving from my house to avoid the local yobs.

I’m really concerned almost frightened to go out lately so many of them and they do not slow down, and just give abuse if I mention anything about their possible illegal activities.
Thank you.

Made yet another cuppa and got on with this diary, then did some Facebooking, checked me emails and blogged.

DSC00084

Rated 8.8/10 Super-good Nosh this one: Virgin oiled red peppers, wonderful roast parsnips, cubed potatoes, beetroot, red onion, beef pasty, apple, roast potatoes, garden peas & carrots. Followed by Blackcurrant jelly & cream!

Got me nosh going.

Did some Facebooking while it cooked the settled down to eat it.

Rated this one 8.8/10, very nice.

Beef pasty, red onions, garden peas, carrots, beetroot, roast parsnips cubed potatoes, red peppers marinated in Virgin oil and roast potatoes.

The usual tiredness came over me quickly. so I updated this diary to here, made a cuppa and took me medications.

Had a bath – falling asleep in it – Tsk!

Then got me head down – eventually nodding off.

Thu 27 Aug 15: Inchcock Today: Struggling!

Thursday 27th August 2015

01topa

0245hrs: I just knew as soon as I woke up that I’d been dreaming and nightmaring away – but I could not remember a single detail or bit about the actual dreams, only a sense that they weren’t good.

Thought about meeting Steve from UK later today at the old house and hoped some progress could be made.

For some reason I thought the clock read 0445hrs and wondered why I felt so tired after sleeping in late for me? Made a cuppa and took me medications, started the laptop and realised when it loaded the time was actually now 0254hrs? So I must remember I’ve already taken me morning medications!

I checked that I’d put me hearing-aids in the right place, the centre drawer in me wonderful 1967 G-Plan cabinet – and found me wrist-alarm. Things were looking up this morning. Hehe.

IanH03Started today’s diary off. Then got carried away again with an idea for a graphic for the Beetroot Protection League in Burnley.

Cost me few hours to get it right mind.

But being as I had time this morning I used it doing graphics instead of getting the flat sorted out… Guilt ridden I tell you, I am…

Going to meet Age Concern’s Steve at last for help with the house sorting and selling – I bet I’m no further advanced after our meeting? Lack of confidence in someone who talks well but does little – still it’s not costing me money, just frustrations.

Finished me graphicalisationing, did emails, Facebooking and when I stood up to go and get a wash shave and you know what – Arthur Itis complained rather nastily – might take me stick with me today – but maybe not, I’m bound to lose if I do. Tsk!

By gum how time flies.

I should have time to do a bit of WordPressing after me bath and shave… I hope.

Back in a bit…

Had a bash on t’internet and after a while BJ rang, he is on his way in 15 minutes.

Got down to meet him in front of the flats, bless his cotton socks I’d be lost without him completely.

We went to the house and I walked to the chemist – where I found my prescriptions were not ready until the Friday after next? Made a minor Whoopsiedangleplop there didn’t I?

On the way back to the house I met my old neighbour and had a chat with her. She had been trying to sell her house for a while but has now rented it to a friend of hers. Not encouraging that news.

Got back to the house and BJ had made a start sorting for me already – no stopping him is there. Hehe.

We spent a good two hours or more sorting and I was not in a good state by then. The knees and feet were very painful and I felt drained – then Steve from Age UK arrived and I must admit I told him straight about the lack of help and movement in getting things sorted. Give the man credit he accepted my criticism and came back and promised me that I could sell the house after clearing it of my stuff needed, without cleaning it up, for a lot less naturally – but said he would sort it all out for me.

On Tuesday I have to phone him to tell him all the stuff I need at the new flat had been cleared from the house and (He says) the only time I would be needed at the house after that is a few occasions to sign paperwork!

That sounded really good to me, but his record in answering my phone calls and text messages in the past have been lamentable.

I live in hope. I think BJ was surprised at my forwardness (I was!) on this occasion. But I was so frustrated, tired and worried about the money running out – all I want to do is get this place off my mind so I can concentrate on the tons of work and sorting still needed at the new place, so I can enjoy it a bit before I croak out. As I told them earlier.

Now I mustn’t get too hopeful knowing my luck.

I went into the kitchen to finish packing some stuff and the same thing that happened the other day, did again – just as I was bending I got a dizzy come on and went over backwards this time. Yet again I was lucky someone was there, they hauled me up and I am now the owner of newly bruised ribs and left wrist. Tsk!

BJ departed saying he will call me in the morrow and lift me and collect the things stacked ready to move that I require at the flat, and have another check around to see if I’ve missed owt. So one, maybe two more efforts will be needed and hopefully I will never have to go there to work again.

Steve went up with me to sort if I needed owt from the attic and carried some down for me. We came across some old photos that was glad about finding.

Steve left when I did and I thanked him.

As I walked to the bus-stop I realised that along with me ribs and wrist, my big right toe was giving me some gip – When will it all end! Hehehe!

01topa2Caught a bus into Sherwood, too late to catch an L8 or L9 bus up the hill, so I waked up and through Woodthorpe Park and down to the flats. I was actually singing to myself despite the rain starting – I mustn’t get too excited eh?

I called into the Co-op and got a pack bread thins en route, cause I forgot I got one yesterday – Humpf!

Weary and aching so I got back to the flat and made me monster salad for later.

01topa2aPut the bread thins in the freezer, made a cuppa and perused my bruises and blue big toe.

Laptop on and updated this diary like.

I thought how lucky I am really, having BJ and Dunc helping me out.

And hopefully close to getting the old place sorted, even if I get a lot less than market value for it – it will be a blessing to get rid of the hassle and worry… if it all works out of course.

Now, after being lifted by events of the day, I find I’m back to worrying about how it will go – Wotaplonker!

Can’t wait for next Tuesday to see how it goes, it’s a start anyway. Crossed fingers, even if Arthur Itis didn’t like me doing that.

Well drained but surprisingly hopeful I got the quilt and me aching limbs down on the floor, read me book a while, mused over tomorrows jobs to be done, and got off to sleep very quickly. Although I kept waking up, I could understand why with new pains every-time I moved, coughed or passed wind, along with fretting about things.

Hey-ho – I hope things are now in Defcon 2 and a go! You know?

Thur 16th July 2015: Hot water… at last! Whoopsiedangleplop! Busy busy day!

Thursday 16th July 2015

Got a good dream filled 6 hours kip in last night! (Not that I can remember much of them, just gallows, many witches and me drowning)

Woke up with a start again – mind racing…

‘Got to meet Pete 1000hrs at his bus-stop in town’: Can’t do that, I checked the buses last night, first one at 0930hrs doesn’t get into town until 1008hrs.

Fretted a bit over the bills that had arrived.

Must get back for 1230hrs as the maintenance man is coming to refit the door lock twixt then and 1630hrs. Will I have time to get me things done – wanted to get some hearing aids from the audio clinic, call in Jessops to get help with me camera and get some bread… Something will have to be missed. Tsk!

Delighted when I made a cuppa to take my meditations and found that I had hot-water coming from the taps.

Had a bath and wash-up. during which I found: The wrist bruising is much less now (Not that that stopped me banging it on the cupboard door twice like).

The ‘Little Inch’ was so tender and had been bleeding again.

The cancer wound was itching more than ever.

Me knees wus having a visit from Arthur Itis in a bad mood.

Anne Gyna was giving the usual signals that she does sometimes before playing up. Oh dear!

The haemorrhoids were tingling a bit, but very little blood.

The usually sticking-open Reflux Valve has sank back down a bit into me chest – not sure what to expect now – it very rarely does that?

Hey-ho!

Put some baked beans in a bowl and marinated them for later on: A little touch of mild curry powder, half a teaspoon of English mustard, a sprinkle of Worcester sauce, a splash of vinegar, a spoon of unrefined demerara sugar and a few sultanas.

Made another cuppa, the first one went cold. Pondered on me repair jobs upcoming: Today: the locks being changed. Friday: Kitchen vent being repaired. Monday: Kitchen cupboard being repaired. Tuesday: Store Room checked for safe to use situation. Thursday next: Draughts in Kitchen to be assessed. Wed 29th: Smoke Alarm checks… on and on… And along with the many already set and expected weekly medical appointments it’s no wonder I’m a confused little Nottingham Lad. Hehehe!

I wish I could stop me mind racing fretting and unendingly (Now there is a word one doesn’t type very often! Just a thought – plenty of them bouncing around in me confused mind at the moment) banging away.

Laptop on and started this diary, checked emails, got this posted.

Got the things I’ll need for the meet with Pete. Bus-pass, timetable, notes of what needs doing (Not that will get done anyway),  nibbles for Pete and Jane, camera, mobile phone… bet I’ve missed summat out.

DSCF0122Put me alarm on me new little £3 clock to remind me when it got close to time to get ready fer bus to meet Pete. Natty little clock Did a bit of Facebooking. It’s got a little tiny light on it to the left of the face so I can find it in the dark… hehe!

And it tells me written on the box that it is Recyclable too.

Went down to the lobby and had a go on me crossword book, some residents arrived and I managed to get a little nattering done with some of them.

Dean Walker (The Heroine of mine who found me keys the other day) came in and was so busy. She handed me the new lock that was to be fitted to me flat door later, replacing the excellent one already fitted?

Caught the bus L9 in to town and met Pete at his bus stop, timed it just right for once.

We went to the Jessop camera store and a young man was very patient with me and showed me how to clear the grid I’d managed to get on the screen. He said the photographs were already being saved at the smallest available to these cheaper-end cameras. Humph! Hehe.

We plodded up the hill to the Audio Clinic. Gawd me feel and legs were hurting summat rotten by the time we got there! Agonomy it wer!

0302Got me batteries and some tubes for me hearing-aids. And we strolled down the hill into town.

We walked down St Peter’s Street. A quaint looking old street indeed.

Pete took a photo of me near the Noshery, with a view of the old street in the background.

Not many folk on it nowadays, it’s used more as a cut-through than anyone actually shopping in it nowadays.

We went into the slab square0303.

Where I spotted a crow manipulating a discarded bag to get into the contents. Much impressed I was too with it’s dexterity.

I wonder what it was in the bag that attracting him/her to work so hard to get at it?

I left Pete and wandered up to the bus-stop to catch the L9 to the flats.

When it arrived, I put away me crossword book and went to get on – Whoopsiedangleplop time again! No bus-pass to be found!

0304The bus pulled off and left me feeling a twit and searching me pockets for the pass! I knew I had it when I got to the bus-stop… repeatedly searched me multitude of pockets without any luck.

Then, noticed it laying there on the pavement. I know I’ve said this before and will again no doubt – Wot a plonka!

Actually it turned out okay, cause I realised I had time to get a bus to Carrington and get the meters read for the gas and electric, and collect a bag of stuff to take to the flat, so maybe it was good that I didn’t get on the bus to Sherwood?

dropped off in Carrington, no yobs about, and made me way to the dump.

Someone had filled me bin with rubbish bless them.

Got in and down the cellar to record the meter readings and wrote them down!

Then had a search round for things I could manage to carry in me bag back to the  flat. Got some hearing plugs, paperwork to sort later, a blanket, some trousers, cutlery and socks.

Some mail had been delivered – including me INR test results.

0201AppsLater I called the doctors about this – as they told me over the phone yesterday (Unless I miss-heard them) that my next appointment was for Monday 27th at 0915hrs. The hospital record card said it was for the Monday 20th July?

She initially said yes it was for the 27th – I pointed out the QMC results I got through the post to the old house  said the 2oth.

She then said she would change it to Monday 20th at 0950hrs – but I had two appointments on that Monday with the repair men coming. I explained this but they had no free appointment for the time the repairmen were here… Tsk!

So she made it for the 21st on Tuesday – now I’m going to get letters e-mails and phone calls from the Anticoagulation at the Queens Medical Centre about missing me Monday appointment and I’ll have to explain everything to them again! If I can remember all this then like.

Got me bags, not too heavy if I wasn’t going to walk a long way with them and made me way to the bus-stop and caught one into Sherwood.

Me feet and knees were really bad now.

In Sherwood when I dropped off bus, I walked up the hill to the bus-stop going in the opposite direction. To see if an L8 bus was due so I could avoid the slog up the hill on Winchester street wiv me bags like. No, 40 minutes to the next one – so I painfully struggled up the hill to the flats.

Quite proud of missen when I got in the flat. (Smug mode adopted – mind you the cramps will get me tonight for all me hill climbing – Hehehe!).

I WC’d and made a cuppa. Put me bags in the living room and set about sorting the paperwork. What a grind that was.

Laptop on and updated this diary of Woe.

DSCF0128

Looking out for the locksmith chap…

Cleaned the bathroom with me new ‘do-as-it-wants’ expensive mop. Talk about streaks. Huh! Might have been me mind doing summat wrong?

Waiting for the worker-chaps to arrive to do replace the flat door lock.

Got an email from the GP surgery telling me I had an appointment on the 29th with the surgery nurse at 0930hrs? Well, that’s the day that Swift’s are doing the Smoke and Fire alarm checks. Int life complicated sometimes! Huh, Tsk and flippin’ ‘eck!

The locksmith chap arrived and put the new lock in – took him about three minutes. He gave me two keys and toddled off.

I tried to clean the frame of the window in the kitchen – even tried scouring pads, but not good. The decay and ground in marks ain’t ‘avin’ it!

Put me beans in the oven to bake em a bit more with the veg pastie and two sausages. Doing them slowly, don’t know why mind.

0305I found a photograph what I took today amongst the ones I knew about that I’ve already posted – but this one is a total mystery to me?

The only thing I can think of, is maybe either the Jessops man or missen took it while he was showing me how to select and deselect the grid option on the camera… perhaps. But I don’t know really. Have you any ideas please? Ah well!

Nosh in’t oven not quite hot enough yet. Tested it by opening oven door and sticking me finger in the beans. I like the taste of this recipe, must write it down for later.

DSCF0129Ah, ready now, excuse me while I get it down me neck.

8.5/10 for this, it was great tasting!

I decided I’d go out for a walk like, and take some photographs of the park and call to see BJ.

When I left the flat – the new door lock would not lock!

Hellfire damnations and huh! – a Whoopsiedangleplop not of me own making this time!

I went down to the lobby to find the number required from the lost on the wall and a lady told me to dial ‘O’ on the internal phone to get someone to talk to about it.

So I thanked her and did like.

The chap at the other end (Couldn’t hear him 100%) I told him about having a new lock fitted today and he gleefully said “Who fitted the lock, it’s in your tenancy agreement you can’t do that without permission!”.

I told him City Homes fitted the lock and he said no more on the matter. He then told me he’d contact City Homes and get back to me about it.

So, I’m updating this diary while I wait.

“Whistling tunelessly and picking my nose now…”.

“Scratching me bum now…”

Too late for me to go out now and see BJ to look at the bed he had in mind for me.

“Washed the inside of the microwave while waiting…”

No one rang back, but a chappy-fella arrived and got the lock working working. I asked him what the problem had been and he said sometimes with these locks when you install them you can push the outer-lip out a tad too much. So when you use the key you must press and hold it in and not pull at the key when it is in the lock.

Very encouraging that. The old lock I was happy with but officialdom deemed had to go was never any trouble. Be interesting when I come to use the key when me arthritis is playing up… oh I’m fed-up!

Got another City Homes pretend maintenance man or men coming tomorrow as well. They or he or she is coming to mend the broken Air-vent in the kitchen.

Well past my bedtime now, so no Facebooking tonight.

Such a tiring day again.

Woke with a start – dream fresh in my mind: I was running on ledges outside sky-scrapers being chased – I was wearing yellow day-glow tea shirt and long-john underpants – I felt young… then I was stood in a long queue at St Peters gate reading an electric wiring leaflet for toasters, although it was written in French? – Mmmm?

Take care all, cheers.

Inchcock Remembers the Royal Visit to Nottingham… (Sneer adopted)

Inchcock’s Memories of the Royal Visit to Nottingham

Nottingham is preparing to give the Royal Family a warm welcome when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visit the city with the Queen.

Residents have spoken of their joy and surprise after Buckingham Palace announced Prince William and Princess Catherine will join the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh on their trip to the city on June 13.

The Royals will greet crowds in the Old Market Square, before making an appearance on the balcony of the Council House.

They will then travel to Vernon Park, in Old Basford.

Iris Busley, 65, of Skylark Drive, Basford, was delighted at the news of the Royals’ trip to the area.

She said: “I’m really gobsmacked. We’ve never had anything like this in Basford before.

“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime occasion.”

Susan Davis, 59, of Corncrake Avenue, called for everyone in Basford to turn out for the occasion.

She said: “I just think it’s incredible. It’s just wonderful.”

Buckingham Palace announced the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will arrive by train at Nottingham Station, where they will be met by the Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge.

The royal party will then be taken by car to the Old Market Square to greet the public, before going into the Council House to meet the Lord Lieutenants of Notts and Derbyshire and invited guests. Huh!

They are one of 16 couples in Notts given the honour in recognition of celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary this year. Mr Starbuck, of Clarewood Grove, Clifton, said: “It’s all come as a bit of a shock. We’re thrilled they are all coming to Nottingham.

“We will be more than pleased to meet them and welcome them to the city.”

A spokeswoman for Sir Andrew Buchanan, Lord-Lieutenant for Notts, said: “We are thrilled with the visit. It’s unlikely a visit of this magnitude will happen again.

“It’s a one-off, and we are all very excited about it.”

The trip to Vernon Park will see the guests of honour treated to sporting and musical performances by children from schools and groups from Notts and Derbyshire.

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh will leave after this, but the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will remain at the park to watch more activities.

Nottingham City Council leader, Councillor Jon Collins, said: “As the capital of the East Midlands, it’s great Nottingham’s playing host to this royal visit.

My response was:

I’m so glad for them both. FibMode

It will be a reet-treat for them!

Being a long time resident of Nottingham, being made redundant three times, living for a month on a pension that’s less than they pay for a bottle of champagne, recovering from heart surgery, suffering with arthritis, impetigo, and angina, collapsed reflux valve, haemorrhoids, and knowing where to find the cheapest short date foods to buy, will no doubt fascinate them.

I offered to show then around the places they would not usually visit without their nine full time protection armed officers and an MI 5 helicopter hovering above.

Well, you’ve got to try and help the poor little Royal mites, bless them!

* I can show them the fourteen police station torched in the Summer riots – or rather the six that are still operating anyway.

* The burn marks on the Canning Circus station grab bars still visible as you climb the steps to go into it to report your being mugged again still brings back memories.

0402* I could take them home and show them my album of photographs of the local yobbery, with the one of the young gang who terrorise we old fold with mugging us, carry guns, breaking into our property, egging our windows, door knocking and general anti-social behaviour.

* I could show them the scenes where a party-goer was shot in the head with an air rifle, that’s only a few hundred yards to the south of my house.

* Then the pub where a youth was shot and killed, that’s just a few hundred yards north of my house.

* The spot where a man sat in a car was shot at by members of one of the  many drug gangs, that’s about half a mile from my abode, and on my weekly 90 minute walking route to the hospital for my INR Warfarin level blood tests.

0401* Take them on my 40 minute walk to town down Mansfield Road, and point out the variety of closed down retail businesses (46), where the 84 year old lady was mugged and hospitalised last June, while at the bus stop by two illegal immigrants one Sunday morning,  the now closed down shop where a lady of 67 years of age was gunned down in a raid and no one has ever been caught for it.

* Let them see the colourful Big Issue sellers as they sometimes get off their mobile phones to actually sell an issue.

* The newly opened outlets in the city centre – the Charity shops, the Bookmakers, the Coffee shops, Pawnbrokers and the ‘We buy your gold’ retailers.

* The constant traffic jams in the city, where they could increase their word knowledge I’m sure!

* Take them to the Arboretum, where sometimes you can find enough grass to sit on without having to move the used condoms, beer cans (Empty), pop and water bottles (Half-empty), half eaten take away foods, fag packets, phlegm, and sick, while they can listen to three or four other peoples music at the same time!

I haven’t had a reply to my offer yet!

I recall when I was in E19 Men’s surgical at the QMC a few years ago now, and Prince Charles was in a ward to himself above us, with two nurses and a sister in attendance full time – having his ‘tennis elbow fixed’!

I was having a hernia repair done, when they found I’d got cancer of the bladder, so attended to that for me at the same time… bless them.

0501* I might show them a photo of one of me nosh’s, to see how it matches with one of theirs? I bet they’d only be jealous though?

When Princess Diana arrived on a visit to Charles, with her armed protection officers, they were admitted through a fire door to avoid the awaiting press – someone shouted out in great admiration – “Oh… it’s Lady Di, and all the staff ran to the window to take look down at her… unfortunately for me, the auxiliary nurse was taking out my drainage tube from my penis at the time, and as she shot off to get a view of the royalty, she caught and dragged the tube with her foot, and I was covered in blood and in great pain!

I bet nothing like that happened to Charlie when he was having his tennis-elbow sorted?

Angry? Me?

Well….

Thu 4.6.2015: Inchcock Today – Medications Whoopsiedangleplops

Thursday 4th June 2015

Medics

Woke after two hours kip at about 0500hrs.

Laid there and felt the new pains in me left rear rump and the angina giving me gip. This made me remember I need to sort out/refill me dosage pots.

Had a wash shave and deodorising session, then went down and made a cuppa.

Which to do first I thought, the shredding, the medications or the bins?

I began to sort the medication tubs out – then realised I had not got enough medications to fill them… oh dear, had I forgot to collect them or had I lost them? Couldn’t remember. Had a good search but found none. I’ll go when the chemist opens to find out and hope there are some for collecting, because I’m almost out of Warfarin and Beta-blockers – as I said earlier, oh dear!

I started the laptop and this diary off and did the header with Coreldraw x7 not crashing yet.

Facebooked a while.

Made another cuppa and did some shredding while I waited for the chemist to be open and call on them.

IMG_0027Set off on a walk to the Chemists next to the launderette on MAnsfield Road

The wind had gone and the sunshine was out – worried it might bring out the local yobbery later.

Got to the pharmacy and e medications were waiting to be collected. (Glad about that).

IMG_0021Called in the launderette and had a natter with Mandy.

Then bravely back to Lidl again.

Bought soe baking potatoes, one tomatoe (Dutch) Lemon cheesecakes, bacon misshapes, tea bags and an Indian Aloo Saag – why I got the Aloo thing I’mm not sure. It must have been the picture on the box that looked nice?

The biggest ingedients are Onion, water, tomato, potato sunflower oill milk and spinach in tht order. It had cumin ginger and fenugreek in it – not sure if that indicates it might be a little hot for me tastes? Still, too late now. I suppose them advertising it as reduced from £1.99 to £1 might have tempted me too.

IMG_0023IMG_0022Got back to the bomb-site.

Put me bits away. away and made-up me new pots of medications. Had a whoopsiedangleplop as I did… I dropped the wrong medication into the pots of morning medications ad had to changed the with the midday ones and got IMG_0024myself into a muddle with them – but sorted it with a bit of bad language and patience. Hehe!

I thought with the IVR levels fluctuating so, I might not have enough Warfarin to get me through until next time.

So I had a poddle to the GP surgery to IMG_0026put in a request for extra Warfarin tablets.

The sun was even warmer now, and the local sum-bags were beginning to appear out on the streets.

I walked back to the dumo by the long route where there are not so many hide holes for them to lurk in.

IMG_0025As I got back I thought the sky had a certain picturesque quality in it, so I took a photograph of it.

Fed the pigeons en-route.

Got to the flea-pit and made a cuppa. Cleaned up me bleeding Inch, and then started the laptop/notebook to do some of this diary to date like.

Did a bit of sorting out and shredding until the ‘Dizzies’ came on, I hate these.

I’ll make some nosh early and get me head down, not feeling too good suddenly.

IMG_0028Hope to be back later. TTFN all.

Well, failed to get me head down again, but did some reading, even that failed to let me nod-off. Tsk!

Did some Facebooking, when it let me, had to open it three times before it loaded?

WordPressed fer a bit then finished this diary off like.

Hope to be back in the morning.
