Sat 31 Oct 15: Inchcock Today: Grafted way sorting the kitchen – looks worse than before I started now. Humph!

Saturday 31st October 2015

01topj5Woke 0655hrs, very late for me that.

Went into the kitchen and saw the state it was in – my head wobbled thinking about where to make a start. Tons of things to find permanent homes for now I’ve got the storage drawers in and made up.

Quiet suddenly the reflux valve and angina started kicking off both at the same time. Not good this, never had the both bothering me at the same time. Was it nerves about the mess to sort or what? Last night I was really happy when I settled down too?

01topj4As it got a bit lighter the colouring outside looked beautiful.

Off to the porcelain – Little Inchy had been bleeding again, seems like every night and day lately, must mention this to the nurse on Monday I thought – that reminded me of Monday’s agendas: Asda delivery 6 > 8am, GP appointment,  Chemists to collect me padding for Little Inchy, bus to town then out to meet Brother-in-law Pete who would be there to have his treatment on his skin cancer and results from his last examination. He doesn’t like hospitals, I like to think I manage to keep his pecker up when I go with him every time, stops him thinking about the procedures as I waffle on about other things and don’t let him get a word in, plenty of jokes, anecdotes, memories etc. Then I have to go to see the Nottingham City Homes people about the drilling in me flat, find out if it is okay to fix me book-case with two screws?

Hello, the flipping innards are rumbling again now too. Get a feeling this is not going to be a good day somehow?

Took me medications with a cuppa and got the laptop going.

Did some Facebooking but felt guilty about not attempting to get the kitchen sorted, so I’m logging off (Forcing myself you know?) and will try to get some sorting out done… (1110hrs).

Sun04 Sun06 Sun05

Sun02 Sun01Many many hours and much frustrations and pain later, I gave up sorting as I was well snickered and Anne Gyna was visiting again making me feel sorry for missen.

The place didn’t look any better than before I started me sorting?

I reckoned one more bask tomorrow at the kitchen should have it finished – well perhaps not…

Had a shave got in the bath, had a good soak making sure I didn’t fall asleep in it I got out sooner than I wanted to, then… Whoopsie

AGCT05I  went over onto the floor getting out of the bath again!

Made me nose bleed.

Well tired and now getting irritable with myself, I became even more annoyed when I WC’d and found me haemorrhoids bleeding again!

What a pickle the place was in. Tsk!

No nosh, just took medications with a cuppa and a pot noodle, then collapsed in me chair. Well drained, worried about if I would be up to doing some more sorting in the morning?

Slept right through until gone five in the morning.

Inchcock Today – Tue 27 Oct 15: Some sorting done – with help!

Tuesday 27th October 2015

01topj0101a

Woke with a jump at 04150101bhrs. For some reason I was expecting my old cat Cyril to be laying on me chest purring away. Blimey, it must have been 12 years since I lost him???

Me dreams again involved me being chased around inside a dilapidated skyscraper offices and corridors?

Dark and misty with it outside this morning.

WC’d, no swabs for ‘Little  Inchy’ so made do with some bandages. Must get some more later.

Went through to the kitchen and spotted me overflowing used medication pots draw. Decided to tackle it straight away.

So I got me trays out, made up the new pots and rotated them into the draw for later use. Took me about two hours to sort them, but I didn’t drop any this time.

The kitchen was much warmer than the living room, I turned down the storage heater a bit – just hope I’ve done it right and don’t end up with no heat later?

WC’d

Made a cuppa and took me medications.

P1020305Went through to the bedroom with the intention of having a look at the 3 drawer wheeled thingy I’d bought for the space where they left for a washing machine under the draining board. I couldn’t even lift the box, so I rolled it into the kitchen… bit of help needed here methinks. Tsk!

Laptop on got dairy done for yesterday and posted on WordPress. Some nice comments had come in I replied to.

Onto Facebook for an hour or two, the Steve of Age UK rang. Some money transferred to the Nottingham Building Society had not gone through. He would be here in about an hour.

Got a wash and shave and true to his word Steve arrived an hour later.

Firstly I explained that I tried to get a hold of him after he left last Friday, as I’d had a call from the bank about money going out and could not understand what the recorded message was saying so could not press any buttons in reply.

He checked his phone, and none of the eleven calls I’d made to him showed up?Odd that!

He rang the bank for me, all seemed okay, then he rang the NBS for me to pay what I owed them using me card.

It seems they have had four viewers at the house and another coming tomorrow.

I shan’t get too excited knowing my luck eh?

P1020304Steve then got stuck in to making a start of erecting me book-case bless him.

He got it out of the bedroom, making some space in it for the first time in a while – mind you he put the moved stuff into the hallway.

P1020301 P1020302With gusto he had everything out of the box’s and managed to get it started despite me not having a hammer he could use. (Well, I might have, but I couldn’t find it, I spend ages searching while spent ages working at the bookcase.

He didn’t have much time to spare and grafted away like a good un for me. Not in his list of duties either.

I crept up behind him and said “Steve, give me scowl will yer?”…

He did too!

P1020303Two hour after his arrival he’d got the base up in the corner ready for the drawers to be erected to go at the bottom, and the fixing thingamabobs to be screwed into the wall – and said he’s return to get it finished. Even said he’d bring his own electric drill! What a guy!

With Duncan and BJ’s help the three of them have saved me many a time. Thanks lads.

It wore me out just watching him.

Steve had to shoot off home to get his nosh then he had to visit another poor old bugger like wot I am, but this poor blokes in the Queens Medical Centre hospital.

I measured the size of carpet, well mat, that I needed for under the brown 1967 E-plan cabinet, and did it in new measurements 160mm by 110.

If the Asda delivery comes early I can have a walk through the park into Sherwood to see they have any that size at the carpet shop there.

Cleaned up the bit of mess we made and got the laptop on to update this tosh.

Asda arrived and then hunger overcame me and made me nosh.

P1020306Fish salad: Fish sticks, cheesey pops, beetroot, new potatoes, BBQ Herring fillets in tomato sauce, bread thins followed by Lemon cheesecake and cream.

Rated this as 8.9/10.

Back and legs starting to ache now.

Got several of those calls from the bank again.

So tired now, fell asleep and missed me medications. Tsk!

Going to pay for this tomorrow methinks…

Inchcock Today Fri Oct : BJ takes me to Ikea in search of a book case

Friday 23rd October 2015

Up at 0525hrs. Once more distorted in the chair, having failed to get me down on me quilt again before nodding off. Reckon I had a good five hours actual kip, good that, and no waking up to use the porcelain – so straight to the porcelain!

While sat there worrying about the amount of blood coming out, I recalled something of a dream I’d had about me jumping from cloud to cloud in the sky being chased.

So, the blood from Little Inchy and my rear end as has been normal recently, was cleaned up, although a lot more this morning from the rump end. Had a wash.

Kettle on and took me medications.

Remembered BJ is calling today and is going to give me a lift to Ikea bless him.

Finished yesterdays diary off then started this one.

Facebooked to catch up in case I get busy later in the event that I get a bookcase from Ikea to assemble.

Reflux valve playing up now, first time or days though.

I did a search for Nottingham Building Society advert for the old house cause I was sure by now they would have got it on the market ready for offers etc after I’d begged the to get a move on and told their representative how urgent the need was considering me dwindling finances.

01topj3Found it eventually, and clicked on the View Property Details button:

Nothing, it said ‘Coming Soon – Call branch for details.

Nice to know the Nottingham Building Society is rushing to help me out. <%”666!£$£$!

As Steve from Age UK recommended them I shouldn’t not be surprised.

IMG_0047

He suggested I use Painter Paul to do me flat when I moved in – that is Painter Paul who got more paint on the wooden door edges than the walls, I’m still finding splashed of paint now after two months!

He then suggested I use United Carpets.

United CHuh! The worst possible choice – Cowboys, crap!

Made me pay up front, told me as all the boards outside the shop did that Free Fitting on all Carpets did, then told me I’d need an extra £100 in cash to pay the fitter on the day!

DSCF0256Who came late without the carpet, tore off me electric socket from the wall, left me with two doors that would not close cause of the carpet too high and left me a load of rubbish to sort out, bless the conning antisocial criminals and superior scrotes!

Steve also suggested I get me TV from John Lewis.

So foolishly I took his advice again. After the men came to fit it up – The TV reception was crap, they told me I’d need to get a signal booster, the remote control was different to the one in the manual and i still haven’t worked it all out yet and keep getting into different modes when I fall asleep and don’t know how which button I’d hit to get into the different mode… most unsatisfactory!

St02So naturally when Steve from Age UK said to use the NBS, I did.

So, if there are any 70 year old single blokes out there with arthritis, reflux valve sticking, hernia, skin cancer, duodenal ulcers, angina, heart valve replacement, haemorrhoids, dizzy spells, high BP, high cholesterol, depression, deaf, bald, overweight, 5’3″ tall, suffering with excessive involuntary wind, on 22 medications a day, lack of confidence and with no one to help you get through – Steve of Age UK is yer man!

Mind you, trying to get in touch with him is dodgy when yer deaf. He’ll appreciate this and understand and give you n incorrect email address so you can get in touch with him, as he had a phobia of his own in answering phone calls… I know this, I’ve tried 11 times in two days and no answer.

He’ll tell you your house will sell quickly once it’s on the market. And now, after 5 months it is still not on the market properly, but maybe next month it will be?He cunningly gives you other problems to worry about, Dodgy crap carpet fitters, TV’s that don’t work, Painters that use one tin of emulsion to paint three rooms and still splash a third of it on wooden doors,, sinks, cupboards, WC, bath etc…

Bitter? Frustrated? Me?

LyzKandRFacebooked me latest updated graphic for the TFZ team.

Washed and ready for BJ to arrive at 1030hrs in plenty of time, and I was waiting down in the lobby by 1015hrs.

Crosswording as I waited… 1030hrs arrived and left… 1100hrs came and IMG_0042went, I decided to have a walk to the end of Chestnut Walk to meet BJ when he arrived.

I waited on the corner looking down at the laundry building.

I utilised me me little camera to take some shots of the greenery flowers etc.

IMG_0047 IMG_0046

I was surprised at the blackberries in clumps with so many different levels of growth. Some overripe, some green, some ripening.

Tried to take a decent shot of some flowers a bit further up the road. Not to bad a shot, I only had me little camera with me.

Still, looking at these photographs now, I found there was something of beauty in them? I spotted the leaves were new strong and gleaming, while so many others were dying or dead. Something I’ve never properly seen in the past, just walked by?

The mobile rang for just a second or so, it was BJ – so I rang him back. He was running late (I expect nothing else from good old BJ, he’s never been on time for any meetings since I’ve known the lad). He told me he’d be here at 1140hrs. So, being about 1115hrs, I poddled back along Chestnut Way to wait in the reception area in the flats, as it was getting a bit nippy stood about outside.

On the walk back, I spotted though the bushes on the roadside, looking down the really steep hill, there was what was originally some steps cut out in the IMG_0043ground and a parting in the trees/bushes.

I took this photo of the leaf covered steps and the danger of using them – but the picture doesn’t show them very well.

Hey-ho, so I’m never not going to be a David Bailey then! Hehe!

More crosswording at the flats and soon it was 1200hrs gone – so I walked back to the corner to meet with BJ when he arrived.

About 1225hrs he arrived, and I could see the lad was uptight about something ad not on good form.

We went into Sherwood and he collected some prescriptions from Boots, after getting a bit angry at not finding a parking spot. Then we walked up the hill and he got some nibbles from the cake shop.

I was concerned that BJ was not too well, he took some of his medications when we left the chemists.

We were off to Ikea, being unable to find a space to park in BJ got more uptight than he was earlier bless him.

We plodded through the store and I got a Book-case, a three shelf metal storage unit that I hope will fit in me kitchen in the space they left for a washer.

We were there for a long time. I felt a bit guilty as BJ was not happy.

When we got to the place where you pick-up your choices BJ was irate with things. I thought his anger was due to him missing his medications and felt guilty again bothering him. He was so drained and stressed and i cold do nothing to help him. It was made worse when we found we had to go to another department after paying for everything.

He bought a wind-up torch for a relative and I insisted I pay for it in thanks for his efforts to help me out.

Then as we reloaded the stuff – three really heavy box’s, a cushion and cover onto the trolley at the checkout, I pulled me hernia into painful action and am now suffering badly with it – then I was in a bad mood too! Tsk!

IMG_0048We went and joined the queue to get the Book-case box’s – took ages and my guilt increased.

It was worrying to see the queue at the Complaints and Returns desk, of about 12 unhappy looking people!

When it finally arrived (the bookcase) in more two box’s, we left to the loading IMG_0049area and poor old BJ had to walk a long way to fetch the car. All the time cars were circling around looking for a space. A nightmare!

Very painfully we loaded BJ’s car with my stuff.

As I waited I spotted a sign opposite the loading area. “Getting your shopping home couldn’t be easier!” Humph!

BJ called at a relatives house on the way back, then he dropped me and the heavy awkward box’s off at the flats. And damn me, the key-swipe entry doors were not working! This really got to BJ and he was almost angry. I understood and said nothing to get him going worse.

There he was, trying to help a mate out, not feeling good himself, medications needed, shopping for others en route, car parking, queuing at Ikea, everything seemed to be going against him today – I felt terrible about it all. And now, even the mechanical things were against us!

Painfully, very painfully we got the stuff up and into the flat bedroom. BJ said he was sorry for things and his attitude today, but he could’t get to help me assemble the stuff we’d bought for a week or so. I (Feeling guilty still) said not to worry, and thanked him for helping me again.

I decided in the morning to call at this house and see how he was feeling.

Off he went well drained bless his cotton socks.

I managed to put the over on the cushion before fatigued I threw a tin of chilli and one of beans into a pan for me nosh. Put some lemon curd yoghurt and soured cream in the dish and visited the porcelain, where I fell asleep. Oh dear!

IMG_0050I woke up ten minutes or so later, so very glad I’d put the hob on minimum, and it wasn’t burnt.

So tired now.

My plan was to get the laptop on and update this diary.

In reality I fell asleep in the chair with me plate of empty dishes on the tray (Oh, the new tray I forgot, I got this from Ikea as well, thanks to BJ) at the side of the seat.

Felt horrible when I woke up.

Inchcock Today Sat 17 Oct 15: bleeding here and there again – Huh!

Saturday 17th October 2015

Up at 0550hrs – straight t’porcelain yet again. Reflux valve giving me some bother now, but the ulcer has eased off nicely. Little Inchy continues to bleed and sting though. Huh!

Kettle on, cuppa and took me medications.

WC’d.

01topj4Must try to get some sorting done later.

Kitchen cleaning day today as well.

I’m still fretting over the call from the bank last night.

Spent hours finishing off yesterdays diary, graphicalisationing and on Facebooking.

WC’d.

01topj8Decided to do the kitchen floor using my new ‘Hooveress”.

Nothing occurred or stirred when I plugged her in the socket?

Decided Not to do the kitchen floor using my new ‘Hooveress”.

Sad this… I checked the outlet was working – yes, and that was the end of my skills in that department. I’ll ask Steve of Age UK to have a look when he comes again, or Duncan, or BJ… whenever that might be.

Had a wash and brush up and got ready to go on a walk into Sherwood and get me Co-op £1.50 off voucher if I spend £10, cause the expiry date finishes today.

WhoopsieUnfortunately I had a Whoopsiedangleplop while shaving. I got an itch on me head and went to scratch it with the razor still in me hand! Stopped it bleeding eventually – what with this and me haemorrhoids and ‘Little Inchy’s lesion it’s a wonder I’m got any blood left! Hehe!

Got me bags, camera in pocket and down to the ground floor on the now creaking one lift working.

Met a chap on the way out and had a natter. (I love this about living here, the odd natter with someone old enough to understand things). He warned me it was a bit windy.

Out and on the path up to Woodthorpe Park and a damnable cyclist nearly got me as I turned left at the top of the footpath.

Down onto Mansfield Road and the wind was in the right direction here to nearly have me over! Thought maybe I should have brought me stick with me after all.

01topj0101aOver the hill and into the Co-op store. Not very busy for a Saturday. Had a good wander around, got some more of the Stagg Special Offer Chilli tins, some own label bread thins, fair-trade bananas, tea-bags on Special offer and counted up roughly what that came to – not enough, under £10 so I couldn’t use me voucher yet; So I got some soured cream and accidentally put a box of two fresh cream and jam slices in me bag. Ahem!

At the check-out where the nice lady nearly spoke to me, she took me voucher cause I spent £10.87 (Due to the mysterious cream cakes that jumped into me bag of their own accord – Ahem again…) Brought the total down to £9 odd.

01topj9bOut and down to the newsagents to see if they had any sherbet saucers. No.

Back up the hill towards the park and I noticed that me dentist had bought the property next door.

I wondered if this meant I would soon not have to climb two flights of stairs after being ignored and insulted by their reception Obergruppenfurhers in the future?

01topj9cThey had plastered a rather large sign outside on the wall above the doors of both properties; Accepting New Patients!

Surprised me that did, cause when I went in the other day to get an appointment for them to have a look at me filling they’d done the week before and I’d had a Whoopsiedangleplop getting out of the bath and hit me mouth on the sink edge – they could not see me before November the summat or other?

Pressed on, just avoiding a collision with another mad pavement cyclist and up through the park.

Reflux valve giving me some gip now. Tsk!

Got in and WC’d sharpishly.

Put the kettle on and put me bits away.

I tried to get the Hooveress going again, but no!

WC’d.

Titivated the kitchen.

Laptop on and this updated.

GC pieThen graphicalisationing and Facebooking again for a while, well for many hours again really.

Nodded off in the chair.

Woke up half hour later thinking it was morning.

Sad innt?

Inchcock Today – Tue 13 Oct 15: Housebound thanks to Wilko – Must remember to thank em!

Tuesday 13th October 2015

Up at 0415 – straight to the porcelain – usual bleeding front the and rear. Cleaned missen up.

Kettle on for a cuppa, took me medications.

Today being the day for me Wilko order to arrive at the flats – and that’s all it is guaranteed to do – as the lady who I spoke with from Wilko said it will be up to the courier driver whether he/she will take the goods upstairs for me or not, as apparently they do no have insurance cover for using the lifts?

01topj6I emailed Deana Walker the Obergruppenfurher for the flats with a request that the caretaker might keep an eye out for the delivery and assist me getting me stuff up to the flat in the event that the driver is unwilling to.

Got an interesting Automatic email in return:

01topj7It informed me that she is on holiday Monday 7th September returning to work on Monday 14th September?

It is October innit?

Confused now.

Twixt 12 > 1400hrs Asda should be delivering.’

So, as I don’t know the number for the shed so can’t ring them, I rang Deana’s mobile – no answer, no voice-mail. Assuming I rang the right number.

Can’t go out to ask anyone to pass on a message or go to the hut in case the delivery should arrive and they call me on the intercom?

In a building with 200 other residents and so alone at the same time. Hehe!

Ah well, I’ll get some graphics done then, oh, I’ll make another cuppa first.

Frustrating day and I’ve only been up for five hours…

Started doing some graphicalisationing.

Email in from Wilko, telling me that Night freight had despatched four parcels, and will update me further if needed?

Asda delivery arrived. Not much in it today, but got some seasoned fries I’m looking forward to later.

Had a Pot Noodle for nosh, added some Marmite to boost it a bit.

Tried to clean the draining board again, but it’s too scratched and not nice to look at. Tried the expensive Fairy Deep cleaner on it, no good.

No signs of the Wilko delivery yet.

Back to creating me graphics.

Got some done ready to use later when I get me Duncan post done.

Made a cuppa nd took me evening medications.

Getting hungry now, but don’t want to waste me food if I cook me chips and the Wilko delivery arrives. But will it? Getting on now, nearly 1700 hours… will it arrive… ♫ Dang dang dang dang! ♫

Well, gone 1800hrs and no Wilko delivery.

I’ve emailed enquiries at Wilko to inform them. Tsk!

Disappointed to say the least, a wasted day!

IMG_0008Got me chips and pork thingies in’t oven cooking.

Took medications.

This nosh was grand.

Rated it 9.2/10.

Head down and so disappointed with the Wilko Non-delivery

TTFN all.

Inchcock Today: Fri 9 Oct 15 – Memory Test Today – Steve coming from Age UK – Wilko Whoopsiedangleplop!

Friday 9th October 2015

Up at 0455hrs. WC’d – Little Inchy bleeding badly, took ages to get it to stop this morning. Bloodied me new pyjama bottoms too – Huh!

Cuppa and took me medications and finished yesterdays diary and started this one off.

P1020250Falling off to sleep last night I didn’t post me nosh. So here it is: A salad of such a size I could only eat part of it – definitely a case of me eyes being bigger than me stomach! Hehe!

Red peppers, mushrooms in oil, pork pat’e, pork & pickle pies, pickled egg, mixed leaves, beetroot, bacon…

The large slice of the lemon curd Swiss roll got eaten though. Rated this dollop as 9.2/10.

Checked me emails and replied to em.

Got me Memory test today at noon at the GP surgery.

Steve from Age UK calling later to tell me about how things went with the £850 house clearance man, and the next stage in getting the old house sold. It seems to me I was young and had hair when Steve first told me: “No problem, we’ll soon have this house sold!” Almost 6 months have passed since he uttered those first encouraging words to me… Gobbleblottingcrap!

Still, he’s a nice laid-back bloke. Gave him a tin of Cadburys Celebration chocolates for Christmas yesterday… thought it might encourage him to get a move on…?

I get visions of his chasing after the hearse with me in it on the way to the cremated, shouting out “It’s sold… the house has gone…” Hehe, might as well laugh it’ll probably happen!

01topj4One of the new can openers fell to pieces as I was opening a tin of beans to marinate wiv me special seasonings. Gave up.

That’s the forth one since I’ve been here in this flat! No wonder I buy two at a time!

I seem to remember as a kid using one like this one in the photo. And it lasted for donkeys years!

I’m moaning again ain’t I?… Tsk!

P1020251Had a bath and shave and set off on me walk to the doctor’s surgery.

At the end of Chestnut walk as I turned right down Winchester Street. I couldn’t help but notice the beauty of the trees changing colour and took a photo of one. Absolutely beautiful!

P1020252Towards the bottom of the road was something, looked like paint to me, had decorated it and the vehicles had made the spillage whatever it was into Art-Deco street art!

It doesn’t show up well on the first P1020253photo I took of it.

At the junction a klaxon-blaring paramedic car went through towards the City Centre and I noticed whatever it was got sprayed by the tyres as the emergency vehicle belted passed.

P1020254When the traffic eased when the lights changed I took another photo.

It looked to me like a vehicle turning right had spilt the stuff when it was hit from behind.

I plodded on up the hill to the Sherringham Park practice.

Got in and booked missen in, checked with the receptionist about the time of me INR blood test on Monday are, and when me next monthly prescriptions will be ready.

The nurse called me in for the Memory Test.

She asked me what day it was, what the date was, then told me name address and colour to remember. Asked me to name the months backwards, then asked me what the name address and colour. I got the town wrong.

She left the room and returned, said they were going to send me to see some people for further tests, one at the City Hospital, one at the Queens and i was not to worry about seeing… not sure if she said Psychologist or Psychiatrist now.

she was her usual friendly self and said she was certain that when I got rid of the house worries and it was sold and done with, things would improve for me on their (Or should that be there?) own.

I gave her some nibbles and shot off to get the bus into town, to try to get some coasters that would fit under the chair legs to stop the carpet getting misshapen and torn.

P1020256Got in town and boy it was busy!

Went in Wilkinson’s store and asked a member of staff if they sold owt that would protect me carpet from the wooden chair legs.

The young man walked me (I struggled to keep up with me though) to the shelves where they were.

I pondered over them and bought some I thought might do the job. Glides they were called. Also got some Velcro-squares that could be useful, and some stick on little clear hooks to hang me stuff on the wall in the kitchen. Good job Duncan is visiting me tomorrow to help out bless him.

P1020255Had a walk around town for a while and the place was even busier than it was when I arrived.

Walked to the bus-stop and waited for the L9 bus to arrive.

There was a carer with a chap in the queue and the poor man was looking a tad threatening as he kept leering at folk who passed and was leaning in their direction. But it was obvious he was in some way handicapped. I said Good morning to him and he tried his best to hold a conversation. I think the carer was surprised when I tried to speak with the chap and I purposely did a lot of smiled in his direction. Poor bloke.

I said Cheerio to the man when they got off the bus, and the smile on his face made me feel so proud. Bet I meet him again… I hope.

Struggled to stay awake on the bus again.

Got back to the flat and put down the times of the appointments on e Google diary while I thought about it.

The gliders were too large for the chair legs and keep coming of each time I move or adjust the chair! Tsk! I tried me bestest.

I ordered some stuff from Wilko on the net, hopefully the last I’ll need. Spent another fortune. I paid for a Premier delivery not knowing what this was. When I got the email confirming the order, but didn’t know still when the order would be delivered as it said: Premier delivery the next working day! Was the next working day a Saturday or Monday? Bad news if it’s a Monday cause I’ve got two medical appointment then. oh dear!

02

Moments before it all collapsed! Tsk!

Steve from Age UK arrived. He tackled the problem with the delivery an sent then an email.

The told me the house was now all cleared. Told me next week he will talk to the building society about getting the house on the market.

Still going at a snail’s pace to me – but he thought we’d done well getting this far? Nice chap, good bloke Steve really.

He looked at the temporary curtaining I’d put up – and it collapsed! Ah well, it gave him a laugh. Hehe! He then good-naturedly let me take his photo and posed for it like King Neptune!

He also took some photo’s of me that I could doctor and use later on the web bless his cotton socks.

He then had a look at and worked how me Hoover works for me. At last I can use it! Hooray!

After Steve had left – I got an email from Wilko – All it did as confirm they had received it and it would be studied and read with 72 hours! Gordon Bennett I still don’t know when the delivery is coming now! Shit!

He also looked at the TV remote to work out why I kept getting blank screens and the set jumps into different modes – he gave up as well, just like I did.

IMG_0001Got me nosh made for later – and further Whoopsiedangleplops on the Wilko order developed…

A lady rang to tell me they were delivering on Monday – I struggled to get all she as saying at first but I asked her to speak slower and it all then okay. She changed the delivery day to Tuesday between 0800 > 1800hrs. I explained about the need for them to press 72 on the panel in the reception for me to let them in, and using the lift to the 12th floor… where she stopped me to check on the insurance for the deliver couriers and see if they can come up 12 floors? Good this innit? Keep up… Then she returned to tell me it is up to the couriers if he delivers up the lift or not – if I come down to meet him, he can tell me if he’s prepared to go up the lift or not!!!!

01topj5

So, after doing the order, and 30 minutes on the phone with the nice lady, my effort to spend £100 plus £8 delivery charge with Wilko, it seems I have to wait 4 days to find out if I’m actually going to get the delivery or not… Amazing!

I will not either way be tempted to spend any-more with them I can assure you! That’s if I manage to this time of course!

Pissed off nicely I had me nosh and felt rather down.

Huh & Tsk!

Inchcock Today Wed 7 Oct 15: Wet in more than one way today…

Wednesday 7th October 2015

Up at 0405hrs, WC. Not feeling too bright this morning.

Haemmorhoids bleeding badly, dizzies early, Little Inchy sore and bleeding. Anne Gyna giving me a bit of grief.

On the brighter side the Reflux valve is a lot easier, and Arthur Itis not too bad at all in the legs or feet and only some twinging and stiffening in me hands as yet.

Recalled bits of a dream: Ladies in a big room, lots of ladies, all ignoring me as I ran around sticking labels with ‘Best before’ dates on the arms? I found myself in an office filled with purple coloured furniture, curtains and wallpaper, I knew this despite the dream being in mono? I was laying out desks and chairs and putting a pencil, spoon and an aubergine on each desk…

Made a cuppa and took me medications.

Got me togs ready for the laundering session and went down to the laundry room. Met a Scottish lady from the first floor and had a chin-wag when he came in to start her laundering session.

P1020226Got the washer going and back to the flat. Had a cuppa and started this diary, then back down to take the washing from the machine to the drier.

Met the Scottish gal again.

Got the drier going and then back to the flat again.

Updated this again. Then back down to collect me washing from the dryer.

P1020227Brought the washing back up and ensconced it snugly in the airing-cupboard.

Made a cuppa.

Updated this diary, then finished off yesterdays diary and got it posted off to the web.

P1020225Morrison’s came and went, put the stuff away then got ready to go out to an Aldi store, to see if they have any Frikadellens on sale for me to try, so I can compare them to the Lidl ones I had for nosh last night.

I really did enjoy them – and a write up about them on the web says how healthy they are compared to burgers and sausages too!

Called at the hut on the way out, no one there so left some nibbles for them.

01topj3Caught the L9 bus, after an entertaining gossip with some of the other residents of the Stalag… no flats.

Took a photo for the bus window as we turned into and down Gordon Hill.

Got into town and I walked in the drizzling rain to the Aldi store. They had some Frikadellens in, but they were smaller and lighter than the Lidl ones, so I didn’t get any.

01topj4Walked over the road and through the Victoria Centre.

The rain coming heavier now and the wind got up.

Hobbled down into the slab-square in the City Centre.

01topj6There were some stalls there again, but with the rain they belting down not many people were inclined to stop and buy owt!

I popped into Primark and bought yet another cap, another waxed one and put it on in an effort to avoid getting too wet on me way home.

01topj5Made me way passed the Chilwell and Beeston bus stops to Queen Street and waited for the L9 bus to get me back to the flats and out of the rain and wind.

Had a dizzy-spell at the bus-stop. Must remember I thought, to take me BP when I get back home. (Nice work that, home).

01topj7 Took a photo from me seat on the bus, of all the buses surrounding the bus… Hehe!

No signs of falling asleep on the journey back to the Woodthorpe flats either today!

Rare that recently!

Got in the door and made hurriedly for the porcelain.

Did some spontaneous sorting out on the clothes racks, but got it all wrong and gave up when another dizzy-spell appeared.

That reminded me to take me reading so  did:

01topj9cSys: 88 Dia: 64 Pulse 74: Temp: 31°. I’ll ask the nurse when I go on Friday if these look okay, I forgot to ask her to look at me readings last time I went. Well fancy that Tsk!

The rain was still persisting down.

Decided to get me nosh early in case the dizzies persisted.

P1020236Had the easiest to make, but some Rosti potatoes in’t oven to have with some bread, made two sweet loin sandwiches and some beetroots, followed by a pot of mandarin yoghurt.

Laptop on updating while the Rostis warmed through.

Got the mobile in me hand to call Steve from Age UK and he called me!

He’s calling for the £840 for the house clearance man tomorrow – that is providing he had got it done by then – so with luck, once I pay-up we can start getting the house on the market. Good job I had professional help from Steve in getting somewhere to live and the old place on the market – it’s only took him 4 months to get this far. Tsk! (Now now Gerry, no bitterness please! Hehe!)

Made sure the money was still there and I’d not forgotten where I put it like.

Not feeling very bright again now.

Had me nosh, Rated it another 9/10, and fell asleep.

P1020237Woke an hour or so later and ran a bath, which I enjoyed apart from clouting me ankle when I was getting out.

Then made a cuppa and took me medications and updated this twaddle.

Nice view from the kitchen window tonight.

TTFN all.

Inchcock Today Tue 6 Oct 15: Confused

Tuesday 6th October 2015

Up at 1205hrs… well I fell asleep early last night. Tsk!

01topj7WC’d and made a cuppa – realised I’d missed me medications last night, so took just one Trental blood release and one Warfarin tablet otherwise they might get a false reading at me INR blood level test later this morning.

Laptop on and pottered doctoring some earlier graphic attempts for a while, checked emails, Facebooked a bit, then to the WC again!

Checked me appointment time on the Google calendar, 0930hrs, so must set off in plenty of time as the first bus here is not until 0930hrs, and of course that is the time we pensioners can use our wonderful free bus-passes.

No bath either now, cause the noise of the running water will disturb me neighbours in the nearby flats (Apartments). A stand up wash and shave later will have to do.

01topj8The time flew by and it was soon time for me morning medications.

I did another search for the missing for three weeks now first time used saucepan lid.

I’m dumbfounded as to where this might have gone too?

Might get a new saucepan and lid today after going to the surgery? It’s possibly the only way I’ll then find the missing one? Hehe

I thought about how people coped during the war years after I read an article about alien-women being moved at the start of the war:

01topj9

Women classed as enemy aliens being escorted by police and officials to board trains at a London station, at the start of their journey for internment on the Isle of Man early in the Second World War.

Apparently the locals on the island had less food than the internees?

Scattered showers forecast for today, better take me brolly with me when I go out.

Remembered to do me health checks (Novel that for me!) Sys 140 Dia 68 pulse 68 Temp 36. I’ll ask the nurse if this is about right today, looks okay to me.

AngFinished and posted a Funny Caption Competition on the TFZ site.

This is Sandra Lentz, a notoriously avid Funnel Cake lover…

My caption was “Go on try it… Make my day!”

I put me Morrison’s order in.

Had me wash and shave, then got the bags ready to throw down the waste chute on me way out.

Called at the  Winwood Community shed in me way.

Chin-wag with Deana and Julie, gave em some nibbles.

Then walked into P1020214down into Sherwood in the light-drizzling rain.

The sun doing its best to come out.

The traffic was building a bit in Sherwood.

As I got towards the top of the hill P1020216it got a bit heavier – the bus lane being in use didn’t help.

Over the brow and down to the Gp surgery and booked myself in with the receptionist…

Only to find I’d got it wrong Again. I was certain the time of the INR Warfarin blood tests was 0900hrs – she informed me it was for 0945hrs – Tsk!

And I’d not got me crossword book with me either.

The nurse kindly saw me earlier though bless her.

Off and poddled down to the launderette and had a natter with BJ. He’s going to pick me up Sunday and take me to the Papplewick Pumping Station 1940’s do. Thanked him and went to Lidl to get some nosh.

Got some Pork Frikadellens, seafood sticks, porridge pots, a white bloomer, a Lemon Swiss roll and some canned kippers in tomato sauce with vegetables, another tenner gone.

Caught the bus back into Sherwood.

P1020217Went in Wilkos in search of a cheapo saucepan with a lid and another can-opener, got em both alright, and a carpet cleaner spray all for under £9.

Poddled over the hill and up through Woodthorpe Park.

Had a sit on one of the benches for a while hoping to catch some wildlife to photo without any luck.

On up the path and down the crumbling path to the flats.

01topj3I took some photographs at the bottom near the flats of a squirrel, but he wouldn’t stay still long enough for me to get a decent one.

Into the flat and WC’d urgently.

P1020222Put me purchases away and got the kettle on.

Laptop on and filled in the Wilko customer thingy – I might win £100 they tell me… yea!

Got seasoned baked beans on the pan warming slowly, and the oven on and the Frikadellens in the oven.

Rang Pete and Jane, they are too busy this week for a meeting.

P1020225Got me nosh ready.

Lovely nosh it were… but I made too much of it.

Gave it a 9/10 though, I put some black bean sauce in with the baked beans and other seasoning and it tasty super!

For some reason it ages for me to nod-off. Tsk!

Inchcock Today Mon 5 Oct 15: Lost in his own pathetic little hypnagogic world

Monday 5th October 2015

Stirred around 0345hrs – cranked and encouraged the knees to allow me to move and get up and hobbled rapidly to the WC. They were not very keen on the idea thanks to Arthur Itises intervention this morning.

Nearly didn’t make it!

Thought of some dreaming I’d had:

I was in a massive house, and had opened all the doors and windows, made a pot of tea and waited for someone, anyone to call and have a chin-wag with me. For some reason I had a big stack of books and nappies (Diapers) at the side of the barbed wire covered settee I was sat waiting on? I kept cleaning the leather covered throne ready for me visitor and as soon as I wiped it crumbs reappeared on it?

Nobody came in, and as I was locking up the place a little dog came in, his tail wagging he went into this glorious kitchen with all the room one could need and every extra it seemed, and suddenly I didn’t know where I was and as unsure but thought I might have then been breaking into this luxury house and the dog belonged to someone who owned the house?

The dog jumped into the open dishwasher and came out with a blue plastic plate and dropped it at me feet – as he did a booming voice declared somethig along the lines of: “This is not lean enough – you will get a driving ban of two years and will have to take sewing lessons!”

Then some people appeared, belted me around the head with a walking stick, not mine though this one was made of gold?

Then they dragged me outside and threw me in a swimming pool. I shouted “I can’t swim!” And a woman of wide girth stood forward from the what was now a crowd of jeering people and said “You can’t wash pots properly neither – die you swine!”

Then I was in  a trench full of bodies with someone telling me to get to the end of the line?

This dream was vivid, and I remembered a lot of it I’m sure there was sure there was much more to it. I cannot recall ever remembering parts of any dream so lucidly?

Made a cuppa and took me medications, laptop on to record these memories quickly before they were lost in the ether.

Facebooked then got ready to receive me Morrisons delivery.

Could I find me hearing aids?

Well yes I did eventually.

Decided to go to town today and take a big bag to get some of the giant paper rolls.

Had a wash and shave, the Morrison man cameth. Put away the things and got ready to go and catch the bus to town.

01topj2I was going to wear me mew skull cap today that I bought yesterday… but it had shrank.

So I put me waxed Andy Cap on.

Had plenty of time so I went to the Winwood Community shed first. Told Deana and Julie about the meat flies and gave them some nibbles (Deana and Julie I meant) and the letters I’d received for previous tenant Margaret.

Had a natter at the bus-stop then caught the bus into town.

Dropped off and wandered up in the rain to the catering shop. Good job I put me waxed cap on now.

The shop was very interesting and not too pricey, they had some ideal trays for sale but I couldn’t carry them with the rolls I’d bought and I hoped to get some cheapo bobble hats from Primark afterwards.

got the bag of 6 rolls, just fitted in me other large carrier bag nicely.

P1020201Walked into town centre slab square. Where they were taking down some demonstration tent and buildings.

As I went into Primark the police were taking two shoplifters to their van.

It’s a very popular attraction for the Nottingham Shoplifters is Primark yer know.

P1020199I got a bobble hat, a cardigan and another Andy Cap.

Came out and meandered towards the L9 bus-stop on King Street.

Not many folk about with this drizzly rain today.

P1020202I noticed a different or new giant wicker floral Trail display near the Brian Clough statue..

A Teddy bear with a pot (Honey?)

It hadn’t been vandalised or had any fag-ends stubbed on it yet, so I assumed it was a new one like.

Nipped to the public WC in response to the urgent message from me bladder.

P1020203Limped up to the bus stop and once again, under a sign telling us that Nottingham had been declared the cleanest city in the Midlands was what you see in the photo on the left.

Some of it looked like it used to be part of some coleslaw, other bits were anyone’s guess?

I decided not to sit on the bench while awaiting the arrival of the bus.

Which arrived early and left early.

P1020204Managed to fall asleep on the bus journey back to the flats, but luckily only once and managed not to miss me bus-stop today.

Got in and put me hats away in the hanging drawers on the Ikea clothes rack, and the blue rolls next to em.

WC’d then made a small cuppa, took this photo and got the laptop on and checked me emails.

Did some preparatory graphicalisationing.

01topj3Got me nosh.

Very nice, rated this an 88.8/10.

Had a dizzy-spell and sat down for a few moments…

That turned out to be six hours as I drifted off.

Woke in the morning and fretted in case I’d left something on or a tap running and checked around – all seemed okay. Phew!

Hey-ho!

Inchcock Today: Sun 4 Oct 15:

Sunday 4th October 2015

01topj2Stirred and struggled to the WC at 0420hrs.

Problems with the haemorrhoids this morning – took a while to stop em bleeding and they were giving out an oddly, different pain?

The reflux valve had calmed down nicely. Arthur Itis and Ann Gyna were behaving themselves too. Little Inchy not bleeding so much as recently either. Good!

Cleared up the washing in the kitchen. Made a cuppa.

WC’d again, then tidied up the kitchen a bit more.

Noticed the corner stand I sorted yesterday in the living room – I didn’t like what I’d done with it at all. Looked tatty and out-of-place somehow.

Another cuppa and took me medications. Laptop on, checked emails and finished diary for Saturday off.

Got a feeling that Duncan was calling to see me today. Or is it next Sunday? Memory man eh? Me? Huh!

Did some graphic creating to use later.

Got an email from Dunc, he was coming today – but he’s got a chance to meet and greet his new grand-son. I hope he has a great time. Be nice for him.

Spent far too long on the graphicalisationing, but got a few done and posted like.

BettySant2 ShutAdict DuncPark LynToe

Another cuppa and did some blogging.

Seasoned me tinned tomatoes ready for later to have with some bread and sausages.

Then got missen a good bath and changed and decided to do me laundry if a machine was free then I could have a walk though Woodthorpe Park to try and get some photographs of the wild life, I might try to get some of the animals as well as humans. Hehehe! while waiting for the washing to get done.

I set off, dropping me waste bags down the chute en-route to boot – Hehehe and got me washing in the machine and went for a walk to take some photographs in the park.

Perhaps if I’d remembered to put me SDHC card in the camera instead of leaving it in the laptop I would have had more luck in this mission?

Got back after me photographless walk and moved me washing into the drier. then set about a good session with me crossword book while I waited in the reception area.

P1020196Back up to the flat to find several more meat-flies in the kitchen? Where are they coming from?

I made short work of bagging them though – they don’t scare me!… much… well, only the bigger ones like.

I cleaned up the paintwork and corpses and said a few words of remembrance as I wrapped them up and put em in the bin.

Msherlock1To the WC, haemorrhoids leaking again. Huh!

Made a cuppa then put the laptop on and update this diary.

Did some more graphicationalising on Corel Draw X7.

Must remember NOT to go to the GP surgery fer me INR Warfarin blood level tests tomorrow – they are on Tuesday this week @ 0930hrs – then on Wednesday the audio clinic then Fri 1200hrs back to the GP for me memory testing test.

Cleaned me hearing-aids inside plastics. Then took me BP and temperature.

Sys 179 – Dia 80 Pulse 64 and Temp 32.4 Looks okay to me.

P1020198Got me nosh that I enjoyed.

Rated as 8.9/10.

The now familiar weariness overcame me and it took what seemed an endless time to nod-off.

Amazingly no trips to the procelain at all!
