Sun 10.5.15 Inchcock Today – Housebound Again – Poor old chap!

IMG_0153Sunday 10th May 2015

 Hastened to the porcelain.

I feel like I must been dreaming all the way through me four hours kip last night… well, this morning. Remembered some bits and found some notes I’d scribbled too – how do I do that and not remember writing them?

Hatred, fear, mockery, calamity, frustration even Cameron was in there somewhere I think – got his name on me pad anyway.

The sky still had fast moving clouds belting past – and the winds were also high and I didn’t like that for me walk today.

IMG_0154Made  flask of tea and pot of porridge.

As I moved to go back up the stairs the angina hit me badly at the same time as the arthritis in me knees started playing up. Tsk!

I was hoping to meet with Pete Monday (Tomorrow) to go on a walk. Best if I stay indoors today and dose missen up with extra med’s?

Started laptop and took me medications and porridge.

Did me tests:

Sys 149, Dia 88, Pulse 85, Temp 31.2c.

At least the haemorrhoids are not bleeding or too bad. The ticker feels okay too.

The Dreams: Seems I was in a massive bombed out or burnt office block and again searching for something, everytime I tried to move from the office I was in each door was slammed shut until I came to the last one, that had the door removed and Bonio dog biscuits scattered along the corridor outside… I folded a voting form into a plane and floated it down the corridor – David Cameron came out from a door with a flamethrower and burnt it, then ran back into the room laughing?

I crept along and saw on the door a notice with two fingers on it and the writing ‘The Laughing Cavalier’?

Then I was on a bridge over a dirty canal, that was filled with drowning people all calling for help but no sounds came from them, just Bernard Cribbins ‘Gossip Calypso’ in the background – I tried to throw ropes in to the people in the water each time I did the rope turned into lightning or static electricity of some sort – then I was in a shop and having carnal relations with a big buxom hairy lass who I felt I knew – later we got on me motorbike and sidecar and went searching for someone called Petunia in Scotland?

Some notes I’d written meant nothing as I’d written them alone – Pursed, Suicide, Buses, arithmetic and mining?

JillywinI did some experimenting with graphics in the hope that Corel and Serif would let me and not crash too often – Tsk!

Managed to get some effects done on a Graphic of Jilly from Australia who is on the TFZ Facebook page.

Then I tried doing some of the same original in CorelPaint Pro 6.

There are some newer options on this programme and it took me ages try each one to see if I could come up with one that seemed a bit different but got there in the end.

Jill dressR3I was reasonably satisfied with the last one.

It looked like it could be a postage stamp.

So I developed the theme in Coreldraw9 and tried to make it look like one for a bit of fun.

Jillywin2I liked it, hope Jilly and the others do?

IMG_0155

Nosh of the Month up to now – Mmm!

Made and then devoured me nosh;

Lamb-shank in Rosemary and Mint gravy, peas, potatoes along with an ice-cream and citrus cake bar.

Twas wonderful and tasty.

I can still taste the lamb with its herb gravy now – but feel a tad guilty about the poor sheep.

Fell  asleep for hours – waking up confused again as to what day and time it was again!

Took me medications very late, but I dare not miss another Warfarin dose.

Brother-in-law Pete emailed to meet me at 0930hrs in the morning at his bus-stop in town and he’ll take me on a mystery tour?

I emailed confirmation back then rang him. He was on the bed with the cats.

Had a good shave to save time in the morning.

Anne Gyna calming down nicely now.

Did this update.

Sat 9.5.15: Inchcock Today: Ingordigiousness abounds…

Saturday 9th May 2015

Got a decent sleep in last night, a good 6 hours.

The dreams were something about me in a crowd like in the cup final and I was searching everywhere for someone or something – ended up with me looking down at missen and I was in a giant pan being boiled in soup? I seemed quite happy with this though.

Woke and climbed downstairs.

IMG_0134The clouds were moving at a fast pace this morning.

Sprayed some weed-killer on the garden patch – the kids have been in again throwing me rockery rocks about.

Washed me pots from last night, made a flask of tea, WC’d and did me checks: Sys 174 Dia 78 Pulse 78 Temp 45c

Laptop on and started this diary off.

Coreldraw froze – Corel Paint, everytime I try to use it a message comes up telling me important update to stability faults need to be downloaded – I turn of the programme and click OK – everytime it tells me I need to turn off the programme before it can install update patch! The window informing me of this stays open all the time!

AALonaTried Serif plus and that froze. Restart after restart – blimey, it took me ages to get me first graphicalisation dun and posted on TFZ facebook!

Oh dear!

The TFZ Gal Knitters I called it, I was looking for a ‘cute’ element in it like.

Gawd I’ve got a massive headache coming on now, Tsk!

Forced missen to get a spit and polish and ready fer me trip to town – decided to go to Sneinton Market, partly because I’ve not been there for years and I thought I might get some decent photo’s fer the TFZers on Facebook.

Set off and caught the bus into town where I had a wobble around…

0603I plodded down to the Sneinton Market first.

0608Down Milton Street, left into Upper Parliament street, Lower Parliament Street through Burton Street and left through Boston Street, right up Brook Street and left into the Market… and what a sight for sore eyes it was!

Pathetic – about six stalls with crap for sale in the wind blown vast expanse 0609of concrete.

Hogwash!

So sad from the days when I used to go their in the 50’s and 60s when it was all hustle and bustle and watch yer wallet as you searched for and usually found a bargain or two.

Later when I got back I found a photo from 1961 to post along with todays to show how things have gone downhill with the open markets nowadays.

Nostalgic moment suffered here!

I wobbled to the end of Bath Street 0605and left into Beck Street, across and up Heathcoat Street and right down Goosegate.

On the corner the ‘Odd shop’ as it is known had some great stuff on display and I took a couple of snaps for the ‘Bling’ gals on TFZ.

I’ve no idea what these gems are, but 0606they looked good to me.

And these ladies watches were really different than any others I’ve seen anywhere else.

They had some hats in one if the windows but the reflection from that window meant they didn’t come out very good at all.

0607Down to Chinese store and had a wonder around getting some seaweed. My usual one in olive oil and a new one that is dried and actually looks like seaweed should. I’m aiming to try a bit of this tonight with me nosh.

They had some American pasta in the window I noticed as I was leaving and took a photo of it as best I could like.

I walked back up Goosegate through Hockley noticing something I missed in the ‘Odd Shop’ 0604window earlier.

Took a photo of it as it got me curious at to what it was and did like.

A German engineered Dry-herb Vaporiser?

I still don’t know what it is or does – can anyone help me please?

Whatever it is I hope it works cause at £325 it ain’t cheap! That’s CAD $605.79, USD $501.88, AUD $ 632.65.

0611A bit further up Hockley the model cow outside an eatery was attracting a lot of interest from the ankle-snappers.

This gal in the picture was overjoyed and tried to milk it! Not kidding. (Hehe, bless her, how one so young knew about such things I don’t know!).

I plodded on through Carlton Street and Pelham street, Thurland Street the Clinton Street East and over the road into the Vic Centre.

0613Walked through and into Tesco to get some fresh cream cakes – but overcame the desire with a willpower of steel (Not really, they were short dated).

I got some of their very nice Curried Beans and some Garden peas on offer, Sugardrop tomatoes and Cheesey Seaweed nibbles.

I left from the top entrance and walked down to Upper Parliament street – avoiding the argument going on between a group of Eastern European gentlemen by the sound of their language used to each other – odd how many English swear words were intermingled with their own language?

0612Feeling well tired now, I took a photo of the crowd and nipped off tp catch me bus back to Carrington.

I droppedoff the bus and called in the Co-op to get some of their thins – they only had short date ones left, but they were reduced so I got a pack.

The twitchell was occupied with lurking yobs so I took the long route back to the dump.

0614Still even so, Fatima and Fred must have seen me and followed because they came down for their nibbles.

A feeling of impending gloom came over me when I got in the house?

WC’d and put me purchases away, then got me 0615nosh sorted.

Dropped one of tins of curried beans on me foot…

I swore profusely!

Made a flask of tea up and took me nosh up to enjoy while watching a DVD.

0616The new seaweed is really strong – I liked it.

Just covered in water for three minutes and it was ready.

The Sugarsweet tomatoes weren’t very sweet though.

Fell asleep several times then gave up trying to watch the film.

I dreamed of Shirley Blamey and Mike Steeden and a classroom in me dreams – but can’t remember what happened in em. Tsk!

Got on with this diary then did some Facebooking.

Fri 8.5.15: Inchcock Today – Out and about

Friday 8th May 2015

After falling asleep early last night and waking up around 0200hrs – I realised I’d missed me Warfarin along with me other medications last night – Tsk!

Vague memories of bits of me dreams but not enough to formulate any actual activity, just the feelings of frustration and depression?

Had to do yesterday’s diary and get it posted off. Took me hours as Coreldraw9 was playing up again, and things kept jumping about when typing?

IMG_0117Around 0400hrs I took a break to go down and take the bins out for collection later, make a flask of tea and pot of porridge.

Nippy this morning, too dark to take a photo of outside yet.

Took me morning medications and did me health checks list.

The haemorrhoids were not bad and no bleeding – The Inch Lesion had only bled a tiny bit – Anne Gyna was no bother – Arthur Itis and cramps were much better than yesterday – the skin cancer growth was the same, painful if touched or caught on owt – No bother from the ulcer at all. Good stuff this morning in these findings. Did me BP thingy:

Sys 143 – Dia 89 – Pulse 94 and Temp 30.2 looks alright to me too!

Set up this diary to here and checked on election results to date (early yet I know)

0500hrs:

* Labour 126 – 19% Tories 101 – 16% SNP 48 – 7% LibDems 5 – 1% UKIP 1

Then did some Facebooking.

0630hrs:

* Labour 174 – 19% Tories 165 – 16% SNP 53 – 7% LibDems 6 – 1% UKIP 1

0735hrs:

* Labour 216 – 33% Tories 268 – 41% SNP 56 – 9% LibDems 8 – 1% UKIP 1

Had a wash and brush-up and got ready fer me walk into town.

0501Set off – a fine looking day.

I set off up Mansfield Road into the City Centre on me walk.

I enjoyed it today, despite the knees being a bit tender like – no rushing, just plodded along yer know.

I’m glad to report that there was only 0502one Pavement cyclist en-route!

Mind you, this git was of more danger than the normal morons who scare pedestrians and older folk with their uncaring attitude.

He was on his mobile phone or ipod thing!

Tsk and cobblenuts to him!

As I approached the centre I stopped to take a photograph of the Victoria Flats (Apartments to our American friends I think).

0503The building in front contains students flats, hundreds of student flats.

The ground floor contains a disabled contact point and at one time several retail outlets. but they have all gone bankrupt and departed elsewhere.

I slipped some seeds and mealworms to the pigeons… clandestinely like.

When I walked walked through the Victoria Bus-station 0504and I couldn’t believe it was a Friday – hardly a sole about… no plaice either… hehehe, I am a fool! Sorry!

I poddled into the mall on the top floor and walked the length to the other end and the walk-over where I could take a photo of the traffic from above like.

0505There wasn’t much traffic or folk either, although the dustbin lorry… no sorry, the Refuse Collectors Vehicle managed to miss the traffic lights as he turned right, just.

I went down the stairs and wobbled on to the Co-op Bank.

They were not open yet, so I hobbled up Friar Lane to the Boots Opticians.

The lady tending to deciding where to put the 0512split in the bifocals informed me I had a large scratch on my head. Took a photo of it.

I had no idea?

0413

Yesterday

Yesterday when I walked into the drooping wet tree leaves perhaps?

Either I’m getting pimples or it’s the skin cancer marks on top of head?

Hey-ho, I’ll find out on June 12th when I have me appointment with the knife.

0506I wondered back to the Bank and en-route saw this sign outside a cafe in town: “It will rain now I’ve put this board out!”

Liked the humour – and he/she was right, it did rain later!

To the bank and sorted me confusion out eventually.

Then a wander to get a photographicalisation of the second oldest pub in Nottingham, the ‘Salutation Inn’.

05071210 or 1216 I think it first opened.

Very much a young yuppie type clientele nowadays.

And the students from the thousands of dedicated living flats all around town seem to like it.

Plenty (far too many) pavement cyclists all over the town today.

I walked down to Wheeler Gate and took a 0508photo in a wine shop window for the TFZ fold, and some ‘Bling’ from the jewellers.

Made my way back to the Victoria Mall and called in Tesco to get some Bread thins.

Weakness overcame me – and I got some of the Polish chicken sausage, Marmite Crisps, canned peas and… er… two fresh cream French Horns.

Then to Aldi for some of their microwaveable small new potatoes in herb and oil.

Guilt ridden I made for the bus stop and caught a bus back to Carrington.

0509One of the gals on the TFZ site asked me about the spaces made available for the disabled on our buses – so I took this photo of the area for her.

The wheelchair is backed up to the pad, the grey arm on the right can be dropped down for extra safety.

I was soon back in Carrington and in the hovel and on the porcelain again.

0511aGot me nosh prepared and watched a DVD while eating it with glee.

Them chicken sausages are so sweet and tender inside.

The potatoes were as usual excellent!

Took me medications and fell asleep – fancy that!

I woke up and checked the election results:

* Tories 331 51% – Labour 232 – 36%  41% SNP 56 – 9% LibDems 8 – 1%

general election - final result

This result means the end of the free NHS.

The result was caused by Miliband’s total inability to challenge Cameron.

The resignations of Clegg Miliband and Farage are too late to save the situation, Clegg and Miliband should have gone long ago – why did they stay to destroy their own parties? Will Farage actually go?

Feeling down now…

The riots will return soon too, mark my words!

Thu 7.5.15: Inchcock Today – Incorporating Election fun!

Thursday 7th May 2015

0401a

What a night, no sleep at all again!

Stirred and took me medications and did me BP thingies:

Sys 148 – ?Dia 79 – Pulse 70 – Temp 30.8c

Got missen washed and ready to go and do me voting.

Funny how the relationship between the word voting and vomiting have more meaning nowadays innit?

No dreams to remember cause I got no sleep, none, zilch. – Huh!

0401As I left the pad to do me voting, the sky looked ominous – rain to come for sure I thought.

I plodded on up towards the St John’s Church.

As I entered through the end gates into the graveyard to walk to the entrance – I saw two lovely old dogs near the doorway, tied up and so wanted to fuss them.

A chap walking passed with his dog Not on a lead, a Scottish terrier and the thing had a go at the old dogs making them both very nervous. The lady who owned them and was taking voting numbers had a go at him for letting a nasty dog run free in an area where people and other dogs were. The chap gave the women a bit of lip and I joined in with my penneth, in support of the ladies. Gave the old dogs a bit of fuss afterwards. Why this annoyed me so I don’t know, but it did.

0402I went in St John’s and – did me bit for Queen and Country like and voted.

As I joined the mini queue of Nottinghamians waiting to register their vote, I had an unplanned and unexpected escapage of wind – just a little hardly registering ‘Plumph’ – I’m getting better now at whistling innocently and looking up at the ceiling! It was bad to me, so what the other poor devils felt I don’t know – but the twitching noses and bent lips went into action all around me. I think me face must have reddened a tad cause all the looks were concentrated on me – but no one said owt bless em.

As I came out of the building I fussed the old dogs and was glad they seemed alright now.

I walked into Sherwood dropped me stuff off at the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop and had a natter with two of the volunteers.

0403I crossed over the road and got to the bus-stop to wait for the arrival of the Pronto bus to Mansfield to arrive – the time-table told me it was expected in 6 minutes.

I was the only person at the bus-stop, but within a minute another seven had arrived.

When the bus came – guess who got on last as they charged at the doors? Yes, me again!

I’d hoped to take some photo’s from the bus windows but it was so crowded and I had to sit in the only seat available and that had no window I could use near it, Tsk!

We arrived in Mansfield and made me way into the Market place.

0404I plodded around the stalls for a while, and espied some fresh garden peas on sale, so I bought a pound of em. Then walked aimlessly up one of the side streets taking some photographs for the TFZ gals as I wandered along.

I took one of some nighties (If that’s what they are called?) and then one in 0405a jewellery shop window of some fancy rings. The prices of them shook me a bit mind. The cheapest I think cost £2300 (that’s $USD 3545, $AUD 4489, $CAD 4292)!

Mind you they looked classy. (Not I really know about anything classy mind)

0406I continued me hobbling about.

Then I took a photo of one of the many outside stalls, this one selling gardening stuff and plants – it drew a large amount of interests from the local gardening fraternity.

As I sidestepped the Stirling Moss of disabled scooter drivers it dawned on me that I was lost!

Being a man (Term used loosely) I didn’t ask anyone for directions.

It took me ages to find me way back to the bus station.

0407When I’d got me bearings I called in the B&M store but found nothing to interest me. Then I called in the Pound-Stretcher store, where I did get some bits from. Cheapo tea bags at £1, tinned potatoes at 29p, blackcurrants in jelly at 35p, bread thins at £1 and a can of green & yellow sliced beans at 25p – the beans should go nicely with a salad later? Only got one can to try em first like.

0409Made me way back to the bus-station as the dark skies began to spit rain – so I missed a good soaking there then, just in time.

The usual performance at the bus loading point – I was there, third in the queue – when the bus arrived, by the time I’d got me knees that had stiffened up nicely while I was sat waiting needed a bit of encouragement to let me get up and to the bus – by then I was about 20th in the queue as the locals rampaged towards the bus doors.

No end of the passengers 0410got off a couple of bus-stops later and the bus emptied nicely, leaving me free to use me camera to take a photo of the inside of it, showing the disabled section for wheelchairs.

Photographing became a little difficult en-route due to the aggressive nature of the driver’s handling of the vehicle.

0411The rain was now in full flow – not that that slowed the bus-driver down at all.

I reckon this was one of, if not the quickest times I’ve ever travelled on a public vehicle from Mansfield to Nottingham!

I did try to take a photo of some horses in a field but they came out like… well you couldn’t even see if it was a field let alone the horses – just a blur of green smudges.

Thinking about it, they could have found their way into a display at the contemporary0412 art gallery?

Bad as that they were!

As I dropped off the bus back in Carrington, the rain continued with a venom.

Off course I’d took me umbrella out of me bag last time I used it to open it and let it dry in the kitchen – which obviously is where the umbrella is now.

Shame that!

0413AsI plodded along Church Drive on me way back to the flea-pit I nearly… well I did, walk into the trees leaves and branches that the rain had made more heavy and had drooped down lower than usual like.

I stopped and took a photo which I was well pleased with – one of me more ‘moody photographs?

This one I thought ought to be entitled:

“The Rain, Nature & Waiting to be mugged” No? Alright.

Got in the house and WC’d, no bleeding from either end I’m very glad to report!

0414Made a flask of tea and prepared me nosh for the night.

Franks, microwave chips bacon and some Krakowska with bread thins and fresh raw garden peas. By gum it wer good, especially the peas!

Watched a DVD film while eating it – fell asleep (Much needed though mind!).

Must have slept for 7 hours.

Woke up and started to complete this diary and get it posted.

Then did some Facebooking and graphicalisationing on Coreldraw9 before Coreldraw9 crashed again.

Tsk!

Wed 6.5.15: Inchcock Today: Incorporating Election Fun!

Wednesday 6th May 2015

A good five hours kip in last night.

Can’t recall them, although I know I had many dreams.

IMG_0080The left hand in particular was in a bit of a state – not good when one is left-handed – Tsk!

WC’d.

Managed to make a flask of tea and take me morning medications.

Checked me conditions: Angina fine, Haemmorhoids no bleeding, Hernia okay, Skin cancer growths painful when touched,  Inch lesion tender not bleeding now, ulcer no bother, Arthur Itis hands bad, knees fine, feet fair, I can feel the mechanical ticker valve clicking away, so I know the heart is still going. Haha!

But feeling extremely nervous for some reason?

Did me BP etc: Sys 178 – Dia 91 – Pulse 78 – Temp 36.2 Sys a bit high methinks, but then again I did the test a little later than usual?

IMG_0079

The Sky was back to looking pretty – but by Jimminee the wind was a-howling with it!

Typing difficult with the distorted fingers – but hey-ho, many worse off than me.

Did the header for this diary with great difficulty – Coreldraw and Serif both crashed and I had to save what I could then restart the laptop twice to continue… both annoying and bothersome!

Grrr! Gnash and Tut!

Back again after another restart. Getting a bit fed-up with this!

The sun keeps going in then out this morning.

Just looked at the weather forecast for today in Nottingham – Heavy Rain!

That’s me in for the day then.

I thought about the elections and pondered on which set of nihilists to vote for…

I feel sorry for the Lib-Dems after Clegg has embarrassed the rank and file with joining the Tories in power.

The Tories (although the bigger of the liars) do want to have a good economy and to make the rich richer and poor poorer?

Labour with invisible Ed at the helm seem harmless.

Nigel’s UKIP have a decent plan for the NHS.

That’s it then, I either vote for em all or none of em?

Do I risk a little walk about today in the imminent rain or not? (Oh, it’s coming down now!) Decisions decisions!

I’ll get a wash and scrub up and decide then methinks… alright I’m off to Bulwell to feed me mallards then…

Set off to the bus-stop0303.

The sky was now murkier than twas and foreboding in nature, the rampant wind persisting.

Bus-pass at the ready – I set off to the bus-stop as the rain trickled down – Got as far as white van in the picture on the left – then returned to change me reading glasses fer me bifocals like yer know? Tsk!

The Inch began tingling, so I called in the WC to check it out – no bleeding all okay – Phew!

0312Caught the busy bus into town and had a walk around and through Trinity Square taking a photo of some ‘Bling’ precious ear-rings from on e of the jewellers window displays.

Amazing fancy designs and not too expensive compared to many I’ve seen on me ‘Bling Photographicalisationing sessions.

0304 - CopyI took a shot of the old Elite Building roof with its beautifully designed and created artistic shapes.

I later cut and over contrasted it in Corledraw9 and managed to remove the dark sky background so we could see the ornateness (Big word that!) of the stonework.

0304aDown King Street and into the centre and caught a tram into Bulwell.

As it pulled away I took a photograph through one of the doors trying to capture the trees being blown about in the nasty winds.

It was dry in the City Centre, no signs of any rain there yet. Just the high winds that ere everywhere.

As the tram approached Bulwell Station I remembered the bashing I got as I got off here the other day from the crowd rushing for the doors – so I cunningly held back to avoid injury.

0305As I walked over the bridge there were no mallards to be seen, and someone had already fed the pigeons.

The shallow rubbish filled river Leen was looking more like the Atlantic ocean with the wind!

I hobbled over to the Market Place, where the windy weather had beaten away 0306all but a couple of brave traders – struggling in the wind.

I called into Fulton Foods shop and was pleased to find they had both some Blackcurrrant Ice-cream lollies in their freezers, and the microwave Lamb Shank packs in the cooler.

So I got one of each as bit of a treat.

Wanting to get back ASAP so as to get the lollies in me freezer, I caught the bus back to Carrington.

There was not the usual crush of passengers so I risked climbing (Not easy with my knees – but then again, I suppose it would have been harder without them?) the stairs up to the top deck with the aim of getting some photographs from the higher angle. A much regretted move later, when it came to climbing down the stairs with the bus in motion to get off – Tsk!

0307Took a photo of part of the Housing Estate on Edwards Lane first. It didn’t come out well.

As we moved on and over the traffic island and up Hucknall Road, I tried to take a photo of the roadworks – but with the movement of the bus and reflection from the windows it ended up looking more like a Mystery Object competition photo.

0308The traffic as we climbed the hill up Hucknall Road was building up on the out of town lanes as they struggled to get through the road-works at the traffic island.

The wind was blowing these trees so much I feared one might topple over – I do so hate these flipping gale winds so much, and fear them too.

We got over the brow of the hill through the traffic lights and down to the next set of lights.

The rain started again and the sky changed within seconds to an ominous mixture of black grey and white very fast moving and ever changing in the winds.

Up to the top of the next hill and I dropped off the bus – just in time – it took me a while to get painfully down the stairs in time to catch me bus-stop like. It might not be such a good idea for me to go upstairs on the buses in the future – Hehe.

0310Took a photo of the ever changing sky as I went up stairs to respond to an urgent call to the porcelain.

Dark cloud, high winds and sunshine sneaking through?

I set about getting me nosh ready then.

IMG_0097Potatoes, garden peas peppers and chicken in an American Sauce.

Looked good, smelt good too – but it was too hot for me I’m afraid.

Don’t remember what the sauce was called like, but maybe I put in too many peppers?

I started to watch a ‘Touch of Frost DVD’ – and the inevitable happened – off I drifted into a deep slumber.

Woke four hours later and found the laptop on, I’s spilt a cup of spring water – luckily it only went over me and not the laptop and I’d been laying obliviously in it while kipping away – oh dear…

Cleaned missen up, WC’s and got on with doing this diary post.

Took me medications belatedly, and applied me creams.

0311On me way down to make a cuppa I espied a rainbow through the window. Got me camera and took some shots of it.

A rare happening in Nottingham this – not as fascinating as those rainbows that appear elsewhere I know.

Struggling to do this diary now as the hands and fingers are starting to freeze-up again now.

Been an odd sort of day, full of nothing.

Must remember to vote tomorrow – not that I have any faith in any of the candidates or their parties either. A matter for me of choosing the nihilists who might cause us proletariats least damage.

No point in voting for those who do not cheat and lie – because they all do!

Tue 5.5.15: Inchcock Today Launderette day

Tuesday 5th April 2015

Gone 0500hrs before I got off to kip.

Stirred at 0645hrs mainly because I could recall details of one of me dreams and wanted to get em down quick before they disappeared:

I was in an empty shop on Hyson Green – I was sleeping rough on the floor… a voice was talking to me and advised the unit was used by the Army Cadets and best to introduce myself to them as a Captain or above when they arrive. I seemed young and smartly dressed?.

Four lads arrived and I got up brushed myself down and refusing to lie – told told them my name number and rank of Private.

We all milled around talking of actual events from my past.

They seemed interested… The voice kept talking almost like a narrator? Things from 60 years ago seemed so fresh and alive as we talked about them – it felt to me like the lads were there with me.

A door appeared on the wall and we were all ushered through by a woman. In that room there was a kitchen just like the one I had in 1950, enamel sink, Dads shaving mug and cut-throat razors with strap (No bathrooms then yer know) – but different people gathered. Mother even put in an appearance and gave us a lecture on how to avoid the police? One of the lads was telling me about a new weapon system he was being trained to use – then great disappointment as I found myself back in what I thought was reality and in a giant gift shop getting pressies for  every one I know it seemed – I can recall getting a Crossword book for Lynton Cox, an LP for his son John, A giant Rose for Rachel Carerra, a tandem bike for Shirley Blamey, a Guinea pig for Gaz Hoadley, a guitar for Marissa Bergen… there seemed like hundreds of others too?

Then the alarm went off.

Took me medications and got this bit of the diary down.

Got the laundry stuff ready and had a wash and brush-up.

IMG_0076Off to the launderette – dizzy en-route and not feeling too good when I arrived.

Took this photo – but can’t remember why?… oh yes I can, it was supposed to be of a Nottingham PAvement Cyclist but she was too quick fer me. Tsk!

BJ was late this morning. But  we had a good natter with Mandy when he arrived.

Got the washing done, and BJ ran me to Asda to IMG_0075do some shopping.

Still not feeling to bright.

We notice three Nottingham motorists on their mobile phones on the short journey to the supermarket.

BJ was not amused!

As we approached the traffic lights on Gregory Boulevard/Radford Road we waited to turn right ant sight of the trees being blown so hard IMG_0077in the wind made me take a photo of them, although the wind is not obvious there was plenty of it about this morning.

BJ was livid when a youth on a motorbike drove across against the lights and through the traffic – a lucky young rascal indeed – not the words BJ used to describe him though!

At Asda I again spent too much. I got a spare flask cause they were dead cheap like there – £3.99 for a litre one.

Took us a while to through the checkouts get.

BJ ran me back home.

IMG_0075Thanked him and got in and sat down for a few minutes – still not feeling right.

WD’d and made a flask of strong tea for later on.

No energy.

Lack of sleep catching up with me I suppose?

Hey-ho, took me medications and gotme nosh ready for later – but but decided to have it straight away.

IMG_0078Roast potatoes in olive oil, cooked beetroots, Petit Pois and franks.

Ate it up followed by an iced lolly and tub of mandarins.

Started updating this diary and sneezing a lot now – Huh!

Too tired to do owt now – drained and faeege…fateg… fatiged… Tired.

TTFN folks.

Mon 4.5.15 Inchcock Today

Monday 4th April 2015

What a good sleep – got up when I sprang awake at… 1010hrs!

0101

Early Morning Sky (Well late morning really – Tsk!)

I reckon I got six hours in. Vague memories of me dreams but nowt in detail. Tsk!

WC’d – then went to make a flask of tea – but found the flask leaking – oh dear!

Made a mug and a pot of porridge.

Did me BP: Sys 157 Dia 95 Pulse 100 – but couldn’t IMG_0058find me thermometer to take me temperature?

Laptop on and set about doing me LOMM entries for last week like.

I’ll have to get out and buy another flask – and call at the shop in Victoria Centre to get a prod-pen thingy to use with me new phone soon.

Feeling nervous again for some reason today.

Washed, titivated, medicated missen and set off to the bus-stop with me free-pensioners bus-pass. Being Bank Holiday there were few people about and the buses were running less often.

0103As I walked to Mansfield Road (with no pigeons coming down – probably because I was later than I usual?), down Church Drive, the beauty of the scenery caught me eye, and I put down me bag to take as best a shot of it as I could.

On to the end of the road and then went back to collect me bag what I’d left on the pavement. Tsk!

0102At the bus-stop I was about to take a photo of the beautiful skyline and realised here I was on a main arterial Mansfield Road and there was no traffic to be seen – not even a pavement cyclist! I turned the camera onto the road to catch this phenomenon in the warm sunshine.

Moments later I took another photo as the obviously held up traffic came over the hill.

There was quite a wait for the bus – not that it mattered to me – I got up so late today – and with finding so many things I’d lost or misplaced I knew things were not 0104boding well and resigned myself to waiting while whistling away to myself.

A lady came to the bus-stop and I greeted her with “Good morning, nice weather for the Bank Holiday” – She gave me a look that made me wither, tuned up her nose and tutted?

I thought “Oh dear”.

It was fun cramming together on the over-full bus, but at least the driver left no-one behind.

0114As I was spewed out of the bus by the overzealous passengers in a hurry I caught my composure, avoided being hit by a burk of a Pavement Cyclist and went into Victoria Centre to go to the MansWorld shop to see if they had one of those pen-swipe multitool gizmos in stock.

I got one and a USB Charge & Sync cable – why I got the USB Charge & Sync Cable I have yet to find out – it seemed a good idea at the time. But why?

0105I took a photograph of the Boost stall as I was passing above it.

Not only was I amazed to see so many customers fraternising the stall, but the fact that they had 5… yes 5 members of staff on duty surprised me muchly?

I really must try one of their fruit drinks one day.

0106As I walked on I noticed a group of youngsters on the ground floor.

They looked well ensconced of the floor with their i-pods?, food and drinks.

Well laid back they reminded me of the Hippies of old, bless em.

0113 I plodded along the top floor of the mall, taking a photo of some ‘Bling’ fer the TFZ gals en-route to Boots.

Down through the store to the bottom level of the store and started searching for the thermometers.

Perhaps a good 15 minutes later I found a member of staff to ask the locations of them and she kindly led me to where they were situated.

0108As I departed from Boots (£10 lighter) it dawned on me how busy it was everywhere today.

In the old days Bank Holidays were for relaxing and recuperating.

Nowadays it’s the shoppers delight – me included.

Mind you, if I hadn’t lost me thermometer and storage drive and broke me flask I wouldn’t be here.

0115I hobbled into Jessops store and had a look at the drink flasks they had to offer.

The second cheapest (the one I bought) was Thermos brand made in China – but then they were all made in China.

I’m hoping this £20 one will last longer than the £8.99 one made in Italy did – which was about 3 months before it broke inside – I can’t remember dropping it?

0107As I went to leave the mall – I took a photo of the newly refurbished area.

I thought how clinical and characterless they had made it look.

Drab, lifeless despite the many Nottingham shoplifters… I mean

Nottingham Shoppers there were about.

0110I walked over the road to the Trinity Square and found the citizenry in a more relaxed mood as they actually used the new food court.

The skateboarder were out in number here.

Then I plodded down Trinity Walk and took another ‘Bling’ photo for the gals 0109on the TFZ site.

These are actually mobile phones in a store window.

Loved the owl one with the buttons on the outside they were second hand but I could not see any prices on them?

Down to the bus-stop and joined the marathon queue and waited patiently for the bus to arrive, while listening to  he others in the queue gossip away.

I hope the girl in the leather jeans who was speaking to a lanky youth with acne and a girl with her ear rings in her lips managed to persuade her parent to get her the ISO 8 she desired. Whatever ISO 8 is like?

0112While waiting for the bus to arrive I took a photo of some wonderful office buildings on Queen Street.

These have real character and great design features – I wondered when the council would be getting around to pulling them down too?

The bus came and somehow we all crammed into it and I was soon back in Carrington – and the yobs were lurking and drinking on the seats in the twitchell again.

So I walked the long way around back to the flea-pit.

0116WC’s – a bit of blood but nowt to worry about from the rear end exhaust.

Set about preparing me nosh fer the night.

A Beef pastie slice, tomatoes, garden peas, cooked beetroots and the best of the lot – seasoned herb small potatoes in olive oil. Followed with a vanilla mousse, Strawberry & vanilla ice-cream pot, a blackcurrant ice-cream lolly and a Cox’s apple!

By gum, I enjoyed this.

Fell into ‘A grumpy old man’ sleep afterwards for a couple of hours.

Tried the new thermometer – 34.2c

Laptop on, and took me medications later than planned – the new flask seemed to keep me tea warm enough.

Finished this Diary off – despite of me shaking then cramp ridden hands.

At 2230hrs I was determined to get some sleep in.

0215hrs, still determined to get some sleep in…

0255hrs, still determined to get some sleep in…

Sun 3/5/15: Inchcock Today: Out in the gloomy weather

Sunday 3rd May 2015ou

Woke at 0550hrs. Managed three hours dream filled kip.

In the dream Marie was working with me. Can’t recall actual details though.

IMG_0030Stirred took a photo of the bleak weather – obviously we’ve had some rain overnight though.

Stirred and made a cuppa.

Then did me BP things: Sys 147 – Dia 83 – Pul 80 – Temp 30.2

WC’d, no bleeding!

Started this diary off.

WC’d.

Abluted and got the goodie-bag for Jane & Pete ready – bus-pass, mobile phone etc.

0701Caught the bus into town due to the rotten wet weather like.

Into town down Trinity Walk and into the Pound Shop for ponder while I had to wait for the bus into West Bridgford.

Only the one pigeon to keep me company so he got some seeds and earthworms.

Got some bits fer Jane and Pete to add to their goodie-bag.

Caught the 7 bus out to West Bridgford and hobbled to their Mansion.

0704Had a natter and Pete took a look at setting up me new Lumia 625 mobile phone.

Another natter of sorts (We’re all deaf yer know – Tsk!).

Pete got me on the internet with the phone – told me how to answer a call and said he’d come with me back to the EE shop to sort the photo transferring out.

When I got the phone a chap said there was a lead in the box to transfer them straight to the laptop. There wasn’t one – so when I called back to the EE shop again, another chap said the lead from the charger comes out and I use that to transfer the photo’s to the laptop. I showed Pete the charger, and the lead does not come out ot it?

0703He might be free a week on Monday to go with me. Just hope I don’t get any appointments at the clinic or hospitals for that day.

Jane told me they got a 6 pack of Marmite crisps for me when they went shopping – nice I thought – but they’ve eaten five of them but gave me the last one… the bag had a hole in it.

I gave them their Goodie-Bag consisting of: 20 disposable Gloves – A microwaveable Lamb knuckle – Choc biscuits – 2 cream Profiteroles – Medicines – Plasters – Crackers – Microwave Oven dish – 2 ordinary Oven trays – Train ticket –  and some cheesey seaweed.

0705I liked the blouse Jane was wearing.

They were going out so I had to get going.

Sarcastically I thanked them for me punctured bag of Marmite crisps and Jane was not amused! (Only kidding, this piccy was posed for, honest!).

Plodded to Central Avenue and called in Iceland en-route and got an Iceberg lettuce.

0706Caught the bus into town.

It had brightened up now, the rain gone the wind low and the angina starting to kick in Tut!

I stood for a few reflective moments and watched the Nottingham folks in the Slas Square, some lazing, some drinking, some smoking, some arguing but they all had something in common – they didn’t look happy!

0707Had a walk around and fed the pigeons in Trinity Square.

Being as I missed me walk into town earlier, I decided a walk back from town would be a good idea.

The shoplifters being removed from Victoria Centre and placed in the back of a police car were rather verbal and aggressive.

0708CycA few hundred yard up the hill on Mansfield Road and the first Nottingham Pavement Cyclist, although going slowly along as he was talking to his fellow ogre walking beside him – he still came so close to hitting me – I had to sidestep to avoid him. Swine!

The sun was coming out now.

A few hundred yards further up the hill and another Nottingham Pavement Cyclist approached.

0709CycHe nearly hit several people as he flew passed me with his headphones giving of a whining screeching noise – I’m not certain, but I think they call it ‘Music’ nowadays?

Up to the top of the hill and down the other side – the angina caused me to stop a while and pretend to be looking at the scenery like.

As I started to hobble down the road (On the pavement like!) Yet another Nottingham Pavement Cyclist belted passed me – and this one was a danger. He was on his mobile phone and rode so close to everyone he passed – Grrrr! Discourteous Young Flogging Deserving Swine!

But he didn’t bother me like…WPlie

Amazing how good the Arthur Itis in me knees has been today… I may regret saying that later?

A bit further on near Hucknall Road, the Sterling Moss of Nottingham Pavement 0711CycCyclists flashed passed me making me jump – he was so fast he was nearly out of shot by the time I took the photo – and I had the camera ready in me hand. Swine!

As I changed hands to carry the bag – that well known stiffening of the fingers came – ‘Cramps!’ Gawd I hate this.

The sky had gone back to how it had looked over the previous couple of days and the wind picked up a tad.

0712Got in the flea-pit and made for the WC – Just in time, Phew!

Prepared me nosh – of Saute microwave potatoes, lettuce, cooked beetroot, me last Chicken Sausage, bread thins and a Cox’s apple – followed by an iced lolly and a tub of ice-cream.

0713nosh Oh, and me evening medications with a good strong cup of Yorkshire tea.

I struggled to eat it all – but managed.

The finger cramps became bothersome again and stayed so for hours it seemed.

Still, no feet or legs cramps… yet?

Started to watch a DVD but didn’t get to the end of it as I zonked out for an hour or so.

Did this diary and then did some Blogging and Facebooking.

Further Thoughts in Rhyme on the General Election May 2015

General Thoughts

Can’t see any of them throwing me a bone,

Each cheats like the others, each one is a clone,

Every one of ’em gets on my axone,

None of them has any moral or honest backbone,

Many MPs can’t control their own testosterone,

All of ’em like to blow their own trombone.

Backhanders?

They get backhanders and this has been shown,

Banks give ’em cheap mortgages, or a no interest loan,

A classy mistress or a second home in Sierra Leone,

Free nights out to first nights show – with chaperon,

Wealth and free amusements are not unbeknown,

To Barclay’s bank a lifeline of billions was thrown,

Not surprising, with the Barclay’s shares they own.

Molestation

They’ll not worry about prosecution when their hands roam,

For in this fowl trend they are not alone,

This their fellow members seem to condone?

No need for the others to depone,

Seems like all of them to this habit are prone!

Employment

While they let some lucky voters work at the grindstone,

Others are left to abuse alcohol and the Methodone,

Osborne and the like, never been in a work zone,

Silver spoon raised, they were never alone,

Rich parents and Eton were their cornerstone,

I had neither… but I don’t like to moan.

NHS

Private hospitals will always mend their cartilage bone,

Not for them an operation to postpone,

Cameron strutting round like Al Capone,

Determined to destroy the NHS I bemoan.

General

They lie to us every time in a superior tone,

To nepotism they are all very prone,

They seek adulation to sit on a throne,

Out of Government they should all be thrown!

Sat 2/5/15: Inchcock Today: Hibernating Today

Saturday 2nd April 2015

070h

Got to sleep around 0400hrs Tsk!

Up at 0800hrs – nearly had a wash…

Made a cuppa and got laptop on while waiting for me Iceland delivery to come. 0900>1100hrs.

IMG_0027Bloomin’ cold this morning – I’m shivering here!

The sky looks daunting again. It looks like one massive dark cloud in the sky.

Just looked at the forecast – plenty of rain coming it seems. Oh good!

That’s me in fer the day then – no good taking a risk while I’m not feeling well is there?

The rain came.

The Iceland man cameth at 1048hrs.

With difficulty I found room in the fridge and freezer fer me good.

IMG_0028The American Meals were not chilled as I anticipated, but frozen.

Thus is was a battle to get em all in the freezer along with me ice-creams, lollies, microwave chips and other ready meals. Tsk!

The instructions were 7 minutes in IMG_0029microwave then stir – another 3 minutes – but with my old oven it took 7 and 3 then another 4 to get it right hot like.

Sliced some tomatoes and put on top of it, had it with a Cox’s apple, bread thins and cheesey seaweed crunchies.

By gum it were grand too! Full of tangy flavour.

GC2cut07A reet treat for the Young Nottingham Lad…

I settled down to eat it and watch a ‘Jonathan Creek’ on a DVD.

Drifted off into a deep much needed sleep – good job I had no plans to go out today, didn’t wake up until gone 1700hrs!

I felt discombobulated to say the least when I stirred. What day is it, have I missed going to see Sister Jane? No that’s Sunday. Did I take me medications, then some memories of the dreams came to me and I wrote notes down before they all went into the ether.

Down washed me pots, bag out to bin, drizzling a bit cold now – the weather not me!

Made a cuppa and found I’d left the laptop in sleep mode, started this little diary.

Consulted me scribbled notes on the dreams:

I was in a massive queue for something or other, not sure what and kept being sent to the back of the line of people – some of who I recognised some not.

I had to catch a bus (A Bristol Lodekka) back to the start of the queue each time I was rejected by the people at the gate where we were all in line to get though – the conductress would slip me a dried pilchard like fish to eat on each trip and give me a wink and a radiant smile?

After I don’t know how many failures the men at the gate got me to sign a note agreeing with the statement that I was riddled with rust and would leave my stocks of Duraglit to the Salvation Army?

Not sure what happened then but I found myself in a bath being bathed by sumo wrestlers who kept throwing flower petals in the bath while chanting Adam Faiths ‘My Last Wish’ song? I think they kept giving me some sterilised milk to drink from a Dutch clog?

I fell out of the bath as I getting out and that was it, I just kept falling and falling for so long I was welcoming a concrete floor to land on to end it all – then fell into giant machine which I came out of the other end with three legs and gigantic boil on me nose that impeded me getting out through the double doors?

One of me better dreams this one I thought. I sense there was much more to it but cannot remember, yet some bits I recalled in detail?

Had a rinse WC’d (No bleeding), took me evening medications – wondered if I missed me morning ones? Then did me BP thingy like, later than I should have but thought that being as I missed doing yesterdays best do it anyway.

Sys 150 – Dia 73 Pulse 81 – Temp 32.4

Did some Facebooking.

Amazingly I still felt tired, coughing a bit too now.

Tsk!

Hello… better check the rear exit – think the haemorrhoids are leaking again…
