Inchcock Today Tuesday 25th October 2016: Photographicalisationing once again, after a moody shot

1mon01

Last night’s Sun goes down and with it, my hopes of ever getting the new computer running correctly?

Tuesday 25th October 2016

In Malay: Selasa 25 Oktober 2016

Up and into the porcelain room by 0310hrs. WRHD, no bleeding, no pain and this was a good start to the day. Took the morning medications.

Remembered to do the laundry early. Got the coins, accoutrements and sprayed into the bag. Down to the laundry room and got the washer going on short cycle.

Up to the flat and tried to get the CorelDraw application changed to read and display CDR format on the files. Failed.

2tue02Down again to move the clothes into the dryer.

For some reason, the clothes were very wet, much more soaked than usual when I took them out?

Maybe I had overfilled the washer?

Up the lift back to number 72, made a cuppa. WRWW and tried again to get the CorelDRAW X8 reinstalled with options changed. Failed.

Started to update the diaries and overshot the time to go and gather the washing. Popped down to collect and clean the place a bit.

6sat01Wiped the surfaces, sprayed the freshener around and took the gear out of the dryer and folded them into the bag. As I was doing this, Roy from the 11th floor arrived to do his washing.

We had a god chinwag and a laugh, put the world to rights and a little mutual moan.

I went back up with my washing and returned down later to give him a photo I’d taken of him on the bus months ago and take the shot above right.

WRWW and had a bash to see if Facebook would allow me to use it. Amazing, apart from freezing twice and telling me that Google Chrome had run out of memory, please restart (Tsk!) it was okay, so I got caught up and enjoyed doing it. Just hope things stay this way for a bit longer.

Got ready, ablutions, etc. and got out to the bus stop for a ride into town and got some of the Surimi prawns from Waitrose and some Sour Dough bread from Tesco. And, if possible to get a moody photograph.

2tue04In town, I made my way to Tesco.

Battling limping through the maddening crowds and over the crossing, narrowly avoiding a Pavement Cyclist as he rode over Upper Parliament Street scooting in between and around the unconcerned pedestrians.

Through Victoria Centre (Mall) and got some stuff from Tesco. The most important being the Sour Dough Bread, I’ve actually taken to the taste of this now. Two loaves, one for the freezer. A TV paper, a jar of mushrooms in vinegar, Longlife milk, bacon rashers, cheddar cheese, seafood sticks, an individual beef pie and do you know, it might be hard to believe I understand this, well, it is hard to accept, but a box of two Fresh Cream French Horns fell into the shopping basket on the way around!

2tue10

2tue05Paid the ankle-snapper on the till, and made my way put and through some more crowds of Homo-Sapiens.

Arrived at the Waitrose store, but they had none of the Surami fish in stock for me, but never mind, I was feeling a tad guilty about keeping the Fresh Cream French Horn cakes that unexpectedly fell into my bag anyway. Ahem!

2tue06As the sun shone towards me, I took a photograph that I thought might be a moody one.

On Milton Street.

It didn’t turn out too bad do you think?.

I struggled up the hill into Trinity Square and checked the price of the American Jewellery Set I’d photographed the other day and put onto the TFZ site asking if any of the members could guess the value in US Dollars.

2tue07AS I turned at the top into the Square proper like, this chappie was puffing on one of the new electronic cigarettes, they don’t half give out some vapour, don’t they?

What next will they blame on E-Vapers. Global Warming?

If you look up both photographs, you’ll see a bloke in the distance smoking one as well. I had a nosey in one of the many Vapour shops in the area. It seems there are many different kinds or types of alternatives on offer. 2tue11Blooming fantastic for them I reckon. They even have electronic cigars and pipes too! I assume that the black box one is one that is charging up? They seem to have been taken too in Nottingham, and why not if they taste alright. The flavours are amazing in choice. Here’s just some of them on sale:

2tue12

Ribena, Lime & Lemon, Blackcurrant, Apple, Coffee, Banana, etc. they even have one here in tobacco flavour?

2tue08As I approached the bus stop on Queen Street, I got another shot in that might be considered a moody one?

Or maybe not, though.

Had a lovely chat with a lady at the bus stop, and we carried on on the bus for the whole journey, until she got off of course. Not only did I enjoy listening to her, but it helped to keep me from nodding off. Hehehe!

2tue09Took a photograph of the Community Hut/Shed from the bus as we passed it by. It won’t be there much longer, they tell me that is the first thing to get rebuilt in the modernisation procedure over the next three years.

Got in, WRWW, shoes off, kettle on, medications took, food stored away, and started the computer going. Waiting for it to boot up I nipped to see Olive, but she was not in, today must be her Scrabble day.

Got in, WRWW, shoes off, kettle on, medications took, food stored away, and started the computer going. Waiting for it to boot up I nipped to see Olive, but she was not in, today must be her Scrabble day.

CorelDraw and Windows took most of the next two hours up, without any progress being made. Still, I can’t view graphics before they load, and a lot of organising still needs to be done with the desktop, the printer I can’t get connected, and messages still appear now and then that can’t understand.

Decided to update this and get the photographs sorted, another two hours were gone.

Got the beef pie and potatoes in the oven cooking away, then I tried Facebooking again, fingers crossed. All going good, some lovely comments again.

Into the nightwear. Took the evening medications.

Went to check on the fodder – Humph! I’d not put the oven on!

2tue13Got the oven going then did a bit more Facebooking while it warmed up,

I am a silly old fool!

Beetroot, egg, garden peas, seasoned potatoes, mushrooms and a beef pie I punctured and poured delicious gravy into and then over the potatoes.

A tasty meal, although I made a right mess of the tray, my jammies and chin with the spilt gravy!

Cleaned the cooking pots and settled in the more than ever shaking £300 second-hand recliner to watch some TV. Continual nodding-off sessions until 2100hrs when the film was starting, and into a deep dream-filled sleep; Didn’t even get beyond the introduction bit of the movie.

Inchcock Today: Saturday 22nd October 2016: Papplewick Pumping Station 1940’s Show visited

04h

Saturday 21st October 2016

In Finnish: Lauantai 21 lo kak uu 2016

0400hrs: The wobbly £300 second-hand recliner shudderingly let me out and allowed me to go for a WWHD session, not a good one, blood bled! Hehehe!

Made a cuppa and took the medications. Remembered that BJ and Dave would be calling for me later to take me out to the Papplewick Pumping Station 1940’s Show, so got on with doing this and then some more sorting with the new computer.

Searching for the code number for Serif, I came across an old Paint CD and loaded it onto the machine. Took a while, and when I tried to use it, I found it very confusing and made a right mess of the first effort. I just pray that the PC people can retrieve the code number for CorelDraw so I can try to get it back on the system, lost without it, no proper graphicalisationing now. Humph! Depressed!

Carried on with the diaries for a few hours.

6sat02Tried to get the printer working again, but told I had to download two more apps and register, so I did, it took an hour or more. Epson Photo Print, E-Web Print and recorded again, had to restart each time!

6sat03

Still not working, but it will let me copy from the scanner?

The blue question mark has a yellow exclamation mark on it still, so I opened it.

Had to download two more things in the hope that I could get the printer going. Then I had to download a thing that should connect the printer with Google Chrome?

Still not working, but it will still let me copy from the scanner?

Then I got an email from Epsom: Gmail couldn’t verify that hpeprint.com actually sent this message (and not a spammer).

6sat05To complete your HP ePrint Mobile account registration, enter the PIN code below in Preferences window of HP ePrint Mobile. PIN Code: XXXX

So, I went through the performance again and supposedly got it connected, at least in the end it told me I had!

But it didn’t work!

6sat07So, I fiddled about and managed to find the elusive email address after several email requests and loss of a large slice of my sanity.

Followed the instructions again and what do you think happened after this 6sat08effort?

After much more helpline usage on the computer, through HP and Epson, I did manage to find the page.

Where several more options were required to be entered.

By now, what little power was left in the old brain was tiring and draining away.

I really thought after yet another restart, this would be it, surely?

6sat09No. Silly me!

I’ve already registered with this division as requested early on yesterday morning when I first started in my failed attempt to get the printer working.

I may have to get a printer that I can connect with a USB cable, I was under the impression this had one, but no.

Still, no printer available that works!

Exhausted, weary, worn out, spent and failed, foiled, thwarted and frustrated – I gave up. Made a cuppa, considered suicide and went for a wee-wee. Hehe!

6sat10Then I got this email on the right?

No idea what the app was???

No more time to spend on this, I can do no more anyway.

Huh!

I got ready the things for the trip out with BJ and David and had a shave and shower.

p1130003Went down to wait for BJ and David in the Foyer at 1220hrs. BJ rang at 1235hrs to say he’s on his way. Went to the end of Chestnut Walk and met them. Both in good spirits, I joined them in the car, and we were off on the way to Papplewick.

There was a tiny rainbow I photographed. But it’s hard to see.

We arrived at Papplewick, and I was told my Membership Dues needed paying.

p1130005 p1130006

Along the drive with some old cars parked up to be shown off. Then further up where the passes were being checked by imitation German policemen and soldiers looked impressive.

p1130007 p1130008

This Ford car had its engine bonnet open and on display. Amazing! At the end of the path were these old motorbikes, I hope Kev Collins sees these.

p1130009 p1130010

In the working boiler house, there were some stalls selling old stuff, toys, games, puzzles, books, models, magazines, etc. I was not tempted to get anything of course, due to my having to pay my dues and not having my new debit card yet, I only have £11 left in my coffers. (Ah-well).

One of the best sights of the day was near an area where they have an artist dressed in period clothing who sings the old songs for an hour or so. I enjoyed listening ti him last year, so I made a note of the starting times for later.

This photograph above is all the more interesting to me because it was taken well before the artist was due to start. They had left some tunes playing through a sound system. Two ladies started dancing to the music, and people of all sorts joined in. I felt a bit sorry for myself then, cause I’d have loved to have danced along with them, but Arthur Itis forbids me dancing nowadays. Sad!

p1130011 p1130012

p1130014Everyone, enjoying themselves so much it seemed, and all took the time to have a natter.

The miniature railway was doing good business.

p1130016

BJ photo I took later, just after the rain. The step in the boiler house behind were where I got stuck when sheltering with many others from the mini storm.

Unfortunately, just as the mock battle was about to start, it poured down and the wind got strong. That didn’t stop them, though, although it stopped me. Hehe!

I found a semi-sheltered spot with so many others, top of the steps into the Engine House for ten minutes or so while the downpour persisted.

Then when it  came to me getting down again, I felt a right clot as two ladies had to assist me to get down again.

Thanked them, and with a red face, I limped away.

p1130017 p1130018

David and BJ near the steps of the boiler house. The original National Fire Sevice Tea Wagon behind was supplied in 1941 by the Canadian Red Cross Society, I hope Pat Melsted Cabot reads and see this photo.

p1130015

Another rainbow appeared, this time a little larger.

The trees were looking absolutely wonderful.

For a while I forgot about the computer problems, but as soon as BJ suggested going home, and my knees ankles and feet agreed, Huh!, the thought of them returned.

I need help here with the computer and printer, badly. Facebook still not letting me do owt, CorelDraw unobtainable until and if I get the code retrieved, all sorts of warnings and emails about things I just don’t understand, all the gloom returned again!p1130004

Seeing this ode on the window of one of the lorries made me stop and think a bit.

If I have to give up on the computer and live without it, I’ll miss the TFZers a lot.

Maybe it is meant to be, my losing these things?

But compared to all that so many men have had to go through in the wars?

It’s nothing.  But I’ll no doubt continue begging for help anyway.

p1130019We were soon back in Sherwood, with BJ dropping me off at the flats then taking David home.

Farewells and I got into the flat and a WRHD session, shoes off, dinner prepared.

The worst one I’ve ever done methinks. But the potato pancakes, apple and lemon yoghourt were okay. It was just everything else that I got wrong. Being so tired, this didn’t seem to bother me much, I remembered the medications, though.

Getting to sleep was no problem for a change.

Inchcock Today Thursday 20th October 2016: First post on the new laptop.

4thu01

Thursday 20th October 2016

Or, in Esperanto: Ĵaŭdo 20a Oktobro 2016 I think?

0200hrs: Awake and out of the recliner to a WRHD session. Bits of bleeding from the rear, otherwise no hiatus.

Dreams beyond recall, but I know they were many, and not nice.

Took the medications. Tried the laptop and it started, so I risked finishing yesterday’s, and starting this one off.

Sometime today I think the new computer and printer are being delivered and set-up, I hope. This means I’ll have to stay in until they arrive if I recall right (Certainly not assured, mind. Hehe) Around midday?

p1120171The laptop still will not load Facebook?

This is as far as it gets?

Has it been got at by the hacker?

Fed up again now already!

Tried again later, and it did load, but I had to wait ten minutes (No joking!), then when I clicked on photos, it was another five minutes before they loaded on screen! Clicked on an album to put pictures into it, and an hour later it still hadn’t loaded. Gave up trying and turned the whole thing off!

The webs other sites seem to be okay?

More fed-upperer than ever now.

Turned off and decided to do some laundry.

5fri01a0435hrs: Sorted the unclean thingies in the bag, accoutrements added, 20p’s in my pocket and down to the laundry room. It looked very clean this morning in there, and I checked on the filter on the dryer, and that had been cleaned too?

0448hrs: Set the machine on ‘Quick wash’, (30 minutes) and back up to the flat and then updated this blog.

I tried to load Facebook again, but it was in slow motion mode again?

Down at 515hrs, moved the clobber from the washer to dryer, wiped the washer down and read the notice board as I got to the lifts to go back up to the comfy little flatlet I call home. All done for 0530hrs, the dryer indicating it would take 45 minutes – where usually it shows 60 minutes?

Back up the lift. Got the powders and things ready for when needed for the next wash. Did some graphicationalisationing then at 0615hrs, back down again.

0639hrs: Laundry all done and stored away!

Did the ablutions and took the rubbish bags to the chute. Went to the Community Hut and told them what had occurred and I would not be at the Tenant’s Social Hour. Left them some raffle prizes, though.

The PC man called to say he’d be here in twenty minutes, that’s 10.50 hrs. So, down the foyer to wait for him.

Nice chinwag with some lady tenants as they came through. The man arrived at 1215hrs?

Still, he did sort me out despite his boss calling him repeatedly, and I appreciated him setting up the printer for me too. Gave him a tin of Roses Chocolates in appreciation, cause he was here an hour or more. He took away the infected laptop, to send to their specialists who will try to remove files for me that will be guaranteed ‘Bug-Free’ he says. This cost me £90, Humph!

I spent some time toying and trying to get the computer synchronised. The keyboard is so different to the laptop. It is minuscule and the arrow keys in a different layout, a touch screen too. Making no end of errors, Tsk!

What are sticky-Keys please?

The scene seems so large to me, take some getting used to this will. Powerful though I reckon.

HP Envy 27-p059na 27" Touchscreen All-in-One PCProduct Features:

  • Style: Premium design with powerful processing
  • Windows 10
  • Intel® Core™ i5-6400T Processor
  • RAM: 16 GB / Storage: 2 TB HDD & 128 GB SSD
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon R7 A365

I’m not certain what each thing means, but it cost a lot. Hehe!

Facebook still playing up, and I’m so frustrated about not being able to do any graphics. If the technician can rescue the CorelDraw passwords for me, I might have to get more help on this, cause I’ll have to contact CorelDraw to get it downloaded again. Huh!

Called on Olive. She was in excellent spirits and looking gorgeous!

Searched for a CD drive in the laptop, but couldn’t find one?

The computer will have to wait until tomorrow for me get it sorted, too tired now.Got on with doing the meal.

5fri3Got on with doing the meal.

Very nice, cheesy potatoes, vegetables, beetroot. ham. egg and sliced an apple with it.

Took the medications and drifted off as soon as I put the TV on.

Hey-ho!

Inchcock Today Wednesday 19th October 2016: Calamity!

3wed001

Wednesday 19th October 2016

Trečiadienis 19 Spalis 2016

The lackadaisicalness and weariness from last night had disseminated into the ether, and at 0320hrs I disentangled myself from the £300 second-hand recliner at the third attempt to get it to work and made my way for a WRHD session. All went well, the tiniest bit of blood, but nay bother at all! No need for any Senna this morning.

3wed2Took the medications and made a strong mug of ‘Thompson’s’ tea. Then set about and got the Crock-pot vegetables simmering away, had carrots, peas, mushrooms, red onions and parsnips in it today, seasoned with Bisto vegetable and Oregano seasoning.

I’ve got the Polish potato dumplings to try, not sure how to do them, might drop them in the Crock-pot? Yes, I will: I’ve put nine pieces in with the vegetables, just hope they don’t all break-up and spoil everything?

3wed3Started the laptop up.

I was a little apprehensive about this, after yesterday’s near disaster when I thought I’d lost the use of my precious laptop.

Although she is running a tad slow still, everything is responding as requested.

3wed4Checked the dumplings in the Crock-Pot with the veggies.

They have all floated to the top, not breaking up yet.

Fingers crossed!

WRWW then got on with doing the Diaries updating and got yesterday’s posted.

Checked the contents of the Polish Potato Dumplings: Restored potatoes from potato flakes 74% – Wheat flour – potato starch 10% – salt – potassium sorbate – citric acid – carotenes. May contain Milk, Soya, Barley, Sulphites, Celery, Seaweed, Rye. Does that sound healthy to you, please?

canal1Then I did a graphic to cheer up Sister Jane and sent it off via email.

I enjoy doing the likes of these. And am so happy that I can still do them, despite the time it takes.

Good job I’m retired innit?

Hehe!

Started this one off then. Did the graphics and sorted the photographs from the camera.

Checked the Crock-Pot – Not god news. The dumplings had all crumbled as I feared they might. Plucked what of them I could out of the Crock-Pot and out some sliced tomatoes in instead, and a bit of tomato puree. Shame!

What now? Can’t access Facebook at all!

Disaster, the laptop froze and I had to force close – Got a phone call from an Asian sounding bloke saying he was from TalkTalk, and when I mentioned I was not with them he said they and Virgin are combining to fight virus attacks?

He talked me through doing things on the computer to stabilise it? Asked too many questions or my liking. I was struggling to understand his accent – after three hours on the phone and he remotely changing things on it would not load again. Ask a neighbour to hear for me, but he had to go, as it was taking too long. So, no laptop working! He said he would send a technician to see me. Sending a text first that I must click on Yes on to verify who I was?  He took bank card details the asked me for the amount of money in the account?

I put the phone down and he called again three times.

No text came of course.

I could not find Deana or Julie, olive later told me Deana was off site. Went to look for Julie, but she was busy with getting the meeting  with the builders sorted and I couldn’t get her. I’d wanted her to phone the Bank for me about the possible hack.

3wed7Had to get the bus to town.

Very busy in the City Centre.

Bought a new computer and printer, they are being delivered tomorrow (I hope). Had to get this first, before I went to the bank, as i might not have a card to buy one with for a while.

The bank next to inform of the problem, have to wait 3-4 days for a new card.

To the Police Station to inform them, it was closed down, not a single officer on the streets to ask for the location of the new station.

Came back home, feeling knackered emotionally and physically.

Olive called to see how things went with the bank.

Tried the laptop again and it started?!?! Messages flashing, though, too quick to read them. I’ll ask the man to take it away and check it out? Turned it off to be safe, oh, and Fa3wed5cebook would not open again?

Got the meal done, used the Kiddies Plate.

So tired now.

A WRHD  and then did the washing up of the crockery, saucepans and crock-pot.

3wed6The evening skyline looked rather nice.

Hope things go well tomorrow, I’ll have to cancel the Tenants Meeting, though, with the laptop and printer being delivered.

Sad that.

Hope I can sort the signing into programmes and sorting out the laptop without too much hassle.

Fed-up!

Tuesday 18th October 2016: To Bulwell today, using the Bus-Pass of course!

2tue02

Tuesday 18th October 2016

Terça-feira 18 de Outubro de 2016

Awakened with a start around 0200hrs. Been dreaming something about climbing mountains or hills with stops to climb down and get an ice-cream from a Stop-me-and-buy-one cyclist, who was a different person each time I climbed down. When  I got back up the ice-cream had melted so I went back down again for another? There were a lot more in the dreams, but no details available in my brain.

2tue03Decided that, as I was up so early, I’d get to the laundry room and sort the washing out. Out of the £300 second-hand wobbly recliner chair and a WRWW had to be done. Got the laundry assembled and off down to the foyer to get them started.

Back up to the apartment and brewed a mug of tea. Took the medications, not thinking what time it was, so early, so I’ll take tonight’s doses early too if I remember to, that is.

Got the laptop on, it was running a bit slow?

0345hrs: Down to move the clothes into the dryer machine. Someone had not cleaned out the filter on it again, Naughty!

Back up again, and got CorelDraw and WordPress loaded and made a start on graphics to use and the diaries. The hour soon passed, and it was time to return to the Woodthorpe Court Laundry Room and collect the things. Got them out, cleaned the filter and drum, back up for another WRWW. Sorted the 2tue06laundry things into their departments in the airing cupboard and on the hooks in the hallway. Hall, I say?

28″ wide, dim and some very handily designed Inchock Whoopsiedangleplop Dangers built into it, too. The front entry intercom situated thinkingly next to the Wetroom where, passing it, I frequently hit it with my shoulder and knock it off. The perfectly placed electrical box’s, designed for me to come into contact with around my head area. The shower power box on the right-hand side, flawlessly set at nose height to facilitate a more dangerous type of injuries and damage to spectacles. Bending down in this area can result in damage to one’s rear-end and concurrently cause bruising or bleeding to the head.

Just thought I’d mention it like. Hehe!

When I got back on the laptop, amid using three programmes simultaneously, the laptop froze! I waited a while, but nothing moved, so had to force close the machine. Gave it decent few minutes, then tried to start her up – but nothing happened… depression and disappointment and frustration overcame me at this stage. I turned everything off, went for a WRHD session.

Found out that the new Senna tablets are working well! Phwoar did they just!

Tried again to start the laptop up… very slowly it did start this time. I decided to see how I can turn on the touch-pad, so, while it was working, I did a search on Google and followed the instruction given. But, where they said the Model details would be, was just a Change word that did nothing when clicked on.

However, I  did discover that I had an Acer Intel Pentium(R) CPU N3540 @ 2.16GHz 1.15GHz. Whatever that means, but it looked good?

Slowly the laptop got up her speed, and things seemed to be okay, and are, up to now anyway.

0600hrs: Made another cuppa and the rain came down. hope it clears before I have to go out.

2tue05Emails perused and answered. Sent a photo of the measurements of the TV to Pete as requested.

So he might get an idea of what size would suit me bestest.

I measured the distance from the £300 second-hand recliner chair, it was about 8½ft.

Hand a bash on Facebooking for a while. Made and sent some greetings.

Cup of tea, well, a mug, then got into the wetroom for ablutionalisationing!

Called to see Olive, but no answer, might be her Scrabble Day?

2tue07Went down to the bus stop and noticed that the flowers some tenants had planted near the garages over the road, were still trying to battle through and blossom. Nature is marvellous.

Caught the L9 Bus town into town, then a number 17 bus out to Bulwell centre.

2tue08Bulwell Market was scarcely used, most folk there were passing by or through it. Not surprising, the stalls all looked bereft of any quality foods.

No rain at the moment, the sun coming through strongly, but without any heat with it?

Reminded me of the old Law & Order episodes.

Called in the Out-of-Date-but-Cheap shop. Not much in, but I got some Heinz Curried beans, 3 cans for £1.

Moved on to the Fulton Food Store, spent a bit there and filled the bag up. 2×10 Blackcurrant and Vanilla suckers, their last four packets of Roka 30% cheddar cheese sticks (The Tenants will love these as raffle prizes… I hope) and two cans of Stewed Steak in Gravy, t only £1 each. These I could use with the Yorkshire Puddings adding my own delicious gravy mix to it?

Then into the B&M store, in the vain hope of getting some of the cans of Goulash, but they didn’t have any.

2tue09So through the market and fed the mallards on the Leen river.

Fed the Mallards, but not many were interested in eating today? Most of them were near the far wall in the Lee to avoid the strong current, and or, escape the sunshine? Turned the hearing aids up to max to listen to their, to me, incredible quacking. But the traffic, swearing kids on the park and emergency vehicle sirens and klaxons took over.

2tue10Caught the tram, dropping off at Asda-Walmart on Hyson Green, to try and get some of the Nordic Style Bacon again. I was told they are no longer able to get the product! Could have cried, so delicious it was too! Got some Zywiecka, tomatoes, Lamb Hot Pot, TV paper and Polish Potato Dumplings. With heavy bags, I departed and caught the tram into town.

I don’t fall asleep on the trams you know, only the buses. Not surprising really, the seats are tiny, plastic, bendable, uncomfortable and when the tram goes over the line junctions, you can actually see people grabbing on to anything unmovable on an effort not to be unseated! Hehe!

Worked out brilliant with the timing as it happened, I hobbled from the tram stop over the road to the L9 bus stop on Queen Street, and the L9 arrived within a minute!

Bill, from the flats, got on and we had a farcical semi-conversation, neither of us really knowing what the other one was saying, guessing at what to reply to each other.

Glad he was on the bus, though, in case I nodded off and missed the Woodthorpe bus stop again. Hehe!2tue11

A lady reminded me of the meeting with the builders tomorrow at 0400hrs and said I should attend. The last one I went to was most embarrassing, couldn’t hear what anyone was saying.

Found a poster put through the door when I got back to 72. Another meeting had been called.

2tue12A WRWW, took the medications, made a brew, and got on with preparing the meal. Poached eggs, potatoes, quiche, beetroot, tomatoes and some Polish cooked ham. Got

Didn’t half take ages to get the washing up done, the poacher pan took the longest. All the utensils seemed to have got egg liquid, that didn’t want to be removed all over them.

Sister Jane and Olive had both warned me about this happening, and dead right they were too! Haha!

So tired after I cleaned up, but glad I’d got the laundry done early and out of the way.

Tried to watch the third Star Trek Movie. Pointless, more rewinding than watching, so I got my head down.

Måndag 17 Oktober 2016

Woke around 0350hrs, Desperately trying to recall the many dreams I thought I’d had in the night. In a park or field, rolling giant cheese balls into holes, a bit like a cross between a bowling green and a snooker table? Many others were with me playing… we had to keep stopping to go on a bus, I was the conductor on it, and all the passengers were Lynton Cox in different uniforms? Back at the bowling and a cheese ball had gotten stuck in one of the holes, the fire brigade arrived, and the men started eating the cheeseball chopping it with an axe?

Eventually, I had to dismount the very shaky £300 second-hand recliner chair and go for a WRHD. Not an easy one, so I took yet another Senna tablet with the regular medications.

Sweet old Fooey on my last visit to Sister Jane’s Magnificent Mansion

Laptop on and updated these diaries. Checked emails, Sister Jane tells me I am permitted to visit them this morning. Looking forward to it, I wondered where Fooey had found for a new “Get-Fooey’s-Head-Down-Spot” that was in the way, he hehe! Last time I went, Pete was trimming the bathroom carpet around the WC, and dear old Fooey decided that would be his new  “Get-Fooey’s-Head-Down-Spot.”

Got some nibbles and gifts for them, including some of that wet cat food that suits old pussies, they love it.

Got the Facebooking done.

Marie called from America on Facebook messenger – she spoke with a lovely accent. Caught me off guard and I waffled a bit I think. Made my day!

Tended to my ablutions, a carbolicalisationing session under the shower this morning.

Called to see Olive, she was suffering but still cheerful bless her cotton socks. She explained that would be best if I get the instant Yorkshire puddings, and put me wise to how she does the poached eggs. A kiss and a cuddle later, I was off on my way to visit Sister Jane, Pete and the three remaining pussies, all of us pensioners you know.

A nice chinwag with some of the tenants at the bus-stop was enjoyed. Got into town and to the West Bridgford bus stop, I nearly got injured in the mob of Nottinghamians rushing to board the thing!

The ailments, apart from Duo Denal that is, were all treating me kindly today.

Arrived at the Mansion, Pete greeted me the door, and there right in front of the door was Fooey in his new chosen “Get-Fooey’s-Head-Down-Spot.”

1mon02Near the radiator at the front door! As I took these photographs above, Pete said he thought it was selected by Fooey for the underground hot water pipes. Ah, Fooey, the grumpy-looking but so sweet old thing.

1mon06Into the kitchen-diner area and chinwagging commenced. Gave them both their gifts and nibbles and the cats some of the liquid food that they love, Jane limiting me to half a pouch each. (For the cats, not Jane and Pete like.)

Jane gave me a Tea bag.

We managed to get Pete’s problem sorted on his laptop with his movie making from his video cameras taken when on his electric bike as he rode along the canalside.

Pete told me to let him have the size of my TV screen, and he’ll have a look a some later to pick out one that would be suitable for me, that is not too complicated and has larger sub-titling on it.

1mon03Fooey, had some nibbles and returned to his new “Get-Fooey’s-Head-Down-Spot” and had an after lunch wash. His tail looks like an extra leg? Hehe!

Jane showed me their lunches all prepared. Very posh and unBritish, Haha! Here’s worrit consisted of; Torn Mazzarella with tomato and basil with drizzled Herb Oil, Ciabatta bread and three bottles of wine. (I’m joking abut the three bottles of wine, of course, it was only 2½, Hehe)

1mon04Fond farewells and off to catch a bus into town.

As we crossed over the canal bridge, I took this photographicalisation on the right.

Didn’t come out too bad considering the bus was moving at a fair pace.

A bit sad, all those ex-British Waterways buildings that were so busy, back when I was an ankle-snapper. Posh nightclubs and other failing businesses now.

Popped into Tesco and got a pack of Aunt Bessie’s Yorkshire Puddings for tonight’s culinary effort at £1.59, about 26p each.

Caught the L9 bus back to Woodthorpe Court. The journey went without any hassle or hiatus… until I fell asleep just before the flats! Whoopsiedangleplop! I had to ask the driver to let me off after we’d . Apparently, he told me, they had stopped at the right stop and two folks had got off, with me still in the land of nod like. Tsk! I did feel a fool again!

Up to the flat, WRWW and WRHD performed. No bleeding this time at all.

2tue01a-2Set about planning and getting the meal of the day prepared.

Ended up with, minced beef, onions, garden peas, potatoes, and a Frikadellen. Made some lovely thick beef and onion gravy and drenched all of the ingredients with it. Actually soaked the gravy up with three of the small wholemeal cobs.

This got a rating of 9.57/10, the highest ever given. Made a bit of a mess eating it mind, Hehe!

Settled after medications and another WRWW, to watch another Star Trek Movie, after maybe 15 attempts I gave up.

Head down and off in a flash.

Inchcock Today Friday 14th October 2016: Marathon Hobble today

5fri01 Friday 14th October 2016

Freitag, den 14. Oktober 2016

Woke up 0205hrs: Half-out of the £300 second-hand recliner chair. Been dreaming of working in shops again, very busy chaotic and being robbed by staff and customers?

Although it wasn’t very warm in the flat, I was ringing with sweat – then I realised why I think. The ulcer was giving me gip, and Anne Gyna seemed determined not to lose her grip on me. I was shaky on my feet when I eventually rose up to go and have a WRHD session. Arthur Itis it seems had joined the Axis of Agony in attacking me fiercely this morning. This is not going to be a good day for Inchcock. But the worst thing was the depression was back with a vengeance. I’ve told the doctor about this happening, and she seemed to think I should expect it? I hate feeling like this, the slightest thing, failure, comparison or thought gets to me, and the self-pity reigns. I feel like nothing matters, so why should things bother me? Hey-ho.

Even Haem Aroid was bleeding, the first time in three days – of course, this thought got to me as I felt I was doomed – always think of Private Fraser in Dad’s Army when I use this term.

To the kitchen kettle on. Noticed I’d missed some beetroot juice on the floor from last night’s accidental spillage. Got down to wipe it up, then took ages in getting back up, accompanied by a dizzy. I was getting more depressed as the day went on at this stage.

Took the medications, made a cuppa and got the laptop on. I think I figured diving into doing the WordPressing and graphics would get my mind off of the ailment? Spent hours doing the diary, but concentration was often lost when my mind wandered onto darker thoughts.

Several mugs of tea (Blimey I’ve got a thirst on this morning) and WRWW’s later, I tried to download the photo of the meal last night, and it had vanished? Not on the camera or card? Am I going deranged or Gaga?

Sorry if the start if this post is how it is. Not like me usually. Surely I’ll come out of this melancholia soon? I’ll try to do some more of a graphic I started last week, see if that helps rid me of this feeling of isolation, unwantedness and defeatism I’ve attracted.

5fri01aI really got into doing the graphicalisationing then lost the work when the Virgin Media internet went down! Grrr!

At least it gave me something else to concentrate my anger and frustrations on. I tried several times to reset it.

I called them, and the automatic system needed Password, Customer number, Area Code, etc. before I got through to a Scottish lass with an accent reminiscent of Janet in Doctor Finlay’s Casebook.

Of course, by then the damned thing had come back on. She then wished me a good day and asked if there was anything else she could do for me. I mentioned about the TV nature programmes and asked if she could post me some details of what was available and the price/cost. She said she would.

Within seconds, I got an email telling me to go to the Virgin website for details of programmes available. Tsk!

Wanted to redo the graphic, but the heart had gone out of doing it by now.

WRWW and made a cuppa, then updated this tosh.

Updated this again and listened to some Shadow music while I checked the emails etc. Then got my ablutions done and readied myself for a walk in Woodthorpe Grange Park and into Sherwood – weather permitting. I’ll call on Olive on the way out, see how she is.

TTFN.

5fri10Olive was in excellent form and doing well, and as gorgeous as ever! I felt so much better in myself then. The haze of depression had decreased phenomenally, and the enthusiasm returned, so much I felt like I was on some drug or other, released from captivity! I decided I would get a bus to Arnold, try to get some of the cheese twists from the Fulton Foods, and walk all the way back home, calling in B&M in search of curried beans and feed the ducks in Arnot Hill Park.

Whatta mistaka to maker!

Left to catch the L9 into Arnold.

No tenants about, in fact, I wondered if the world had ended and no one had told me, very odd. The bus arrived, and in no time I was dropping off on High Street, Arnold, right opposite the Fulton Food Store.

5fri03Where I went in search of the unusual cheese twists… Tsk! I got the last packet.

As I came out decided to make my way out of Arnold to the park to feed the mallards and other wildlife, the sky looked beautiful.

It felt and looked like some rain was due, but it didn’t come.

I meandered on, calling in the Saver store and got some chocolate coins. Then out to the Arno Hill Park.

5fri04

Where the birds appreciated the earthworm pellets and fed in a harmonious sharing way, no pecking at each other or squabbles to get the food. I stayed a while just talking to them, no one else was about.

5fri05As I made my way out of the park, I took a different route than normal and came across this it of Agricultural Artwork on the right here.

I hope the tree wasn’t topped just to make it? I suppose it might have been diseased.

Made my way out and up and over Mansfield Road and left along to the B&M store to see if they had any of the Hoopers Curried Beans in stock. They hadn’t of course. I got a pack of citrus flavoured, no, I mean citrus scented toilet blocks.

5fri06Out and along the Mansfield Road towards Sherwood.

I called into the tennis court toilets as no one was about and had a wee-wee. (Cheeky me!)

Got to the Tesco mini-shop and nipped in to have a look around, never been in there before. I got a pack of Crispy beetroots and crispy sweet potato nibbles. Bet they will be nice, expensive mind, £1.05 for a packet of merely 30g. They had some reduced short-dated ready to eat prawns, so I treated myself. This turned out to be false value later, they were horrible foul tasting, and I threw them away. The reduced custard slices with icing on top that I also purchased, were okay. (Guilt mode adopted here).

Pressed on up the hill, the feet ankles and knees now in the right painful condition they are, and I began to regret walking back after all. As I entered the park gates…

5fri08

A Council Van, parked with its hazard lights flashing had to be got around, and as I moved off the concrete onto the grass, I came as close as I’ve ever have done to slipping over without doing so, if you see what I mean. A minute or so further on up the incline and the van overtook me with inches to spare from hitting me! He just might have given me pap on his horn to let me know he was coming? Huh!

5fri08aOn to the top and right down passing the Copse, and into view came a sight I didn’t want to see.

A paramedic van and an ambulance outside the foyer entrance to the flats.

Haven’t found out what had occurred yet.

Up to the twelfth floor and to the porcelain and made use of it.

Tired and physically drained, but in much better spirits than when the day started I’m happy to say, I got preparing the evening fodder. The prawns were 5fri09thrown out, a large battered fishcake and battered fish fingers were put in the oven. Tin of garden peas in the saucepan, beetroots and tomato sliced, apple peeled, pickled egg on the plate, small banana and the two custard slices with icing on readied.peas

I did have two little brown cobs and filled them with fish fingers dunking them in the tomato sauce as I devoured the meal. Succulent is the word to describe this effort at my culinary preparations.

5fri11The ankles, feet and knees were still not surprisingly in a bad state and causing me some grief. But Anne Gyna had been good to me considering my foolish decision to walk so far. I checked when I made the Google map trip, it said the travel was 2.40 miles? This surprised me somewhat. I’d have guessed about 1.5 miles maximum? If the Google thing is right, it’s no wonder my plates are still stinging. Hehe!

Checked the TV paper and found something to watch from 1755hrs to 2200hrs. Got settled in the £300 second-hand recliner, a mug of orange juice and nibbles in a pot at my side to enjoy the viewing. Fell asleep at 19oohrs during the break between programmes and woke up at 2155hrs to catch the last few minutes of the last programme I’d planned to see.

I’d been dreaming, but only bits of them remained in the brain. Being chased again in derelict buildings high in the sky?

A WRWW, a slurp of orange juice and off into the pleasant land of nod.

Inchcock Today Thursday 13th October 2016: Tenants Hour today

4thu01

Thursday 13th October 2016

4thu02Woke with a start at 0240hrs. Wide awake! The dreams that were so fresh in my mind had evaporated within seconds. Tsk!

Disentangled my body from the £300 second-hand recliner and to the porcelain for a WRHD session. No bleeding again, so that was good.

A look out of the kitchen window. The decision to do the laundry while I was feeling so good, was made. So, I added the jeans and towel to the other stuff in the bag already and popped down to the laundry room with them and the 4thu03coins needed.

I’d noticed a workman yesterday in there, re-drilling the window bars. Now I know what he was doing. He’d opened the window at the top and removed the key, so it now stays permanently open. Condensation problems I thought perhaps? I didn’t appreciate this at all, and the thermometer read 6°c – 42.7°f… not exactly warm this morning. But then again, it is October.

Got the washing going and checked the time on the foyer wall clock 0305hrs, so it should be done by 0335hrs, as I did them on the Quick setting (30 minutes). Up to the flat and started to update the diaries.

0335hrs: Back down with the cleaners and timed it nicely, just finishing as I got it the room. Moved the clothes into the dryer and checked the filter had been cleaned, started it at 0340hrs, so this should be done in an hour.

Up again to the laptop, via a quick WRWW session (Hehe!).

0445hrs: Back down again. Got the gear sorted and folded into the bag. Cleaned the filter out, wiped the machines, bin and sink area and returned to make a cup of tea upstairs.

Did a lot of graphicalisationing on CorelDraw X8 in readiness to use later, then started off today’s diary. A few WRWW’s followed, Tsk!

0635hrs: Took the medications, and cleaned the saucepans that I’d removed the potatoes from.

I was going to get the Crock-Pot going but realised I had not got any vegetables other than onions to use. Decided it would be the last two chicken thighs for fodder today. I can use a tin of the garden peas, already got the potatoes to eat cold, with it, beetroot in the jar ready too. And the bread rolls I bought yesterday. I might have a forage around in the cupboards later to see if I have owt else to garnish it with. But, then again, I have the fish sticks and prawn tails? Decisive is not a word to describe me at all. Tut!

Spent some hours on Facebooking. BJ rang me to get him some raffle tickets at the Tenants Social as he will be late arriving.

Spent a couple more hours WordPressing and on CorelDraw X8. Then off to the Tenants Meeting. There was a decent crowd today, but I forgot (I thought at the time) the camera! Humph!  BJ arrived. No Toni today, hope she’s alright. The ulcer started to play up.

After the raffle, of which on our table, Eddy won three, Grumpy Bill two, BJ two, Nice Bill four and me none! Nothing unusual there then. I had a good gabfest, though. Hehe!

I left early to get some Aludrox substitute down me back at the flat. Had a good guzzle and noticed the rain had eased off a lot. So I foraged about and got things ready to go to the Aldi store on Woodborough Road.

5fri01aCaught the L8 bus. The rain had stopped again, and the trees looked so wonderful.

Up to Mapperley Top and wobbled along to the Aldi store. As I dropped off, the rain came down. Spent ages wondering around the shop and ended up getting some cheese topped rolls, baby beetroot (Very nice as it turned out), Frikadellens, roasting veg and a very naughty Steak and gravy pie with puff pastry. 4thu04Missed the bus back, so limped along Woodborough Road and down Woodthorpe Road. Towards the end of the road, a youth on a four-wheeled mini-bike was belting up and down the road, doing wheelies and circle.

5fri02How such a tiny machine could make so much noise, I don’t know. The lad was having a whale of a time. A bit of jealousy crept into my thoughts. Haha!

5fri04Turned right down Sherwood Vale hill. I could see the flats in the distance, not my Woodthorpe block, but the Winchester building, mine was to the right, just out of view.

The rain stopped again.

As I hobbled down the road, the L8 bus came up the hill, and the lady 5fri03driver gave me a wave and smile.

That was fun!

To the right, the view was astounding to me. Had to take a photograph of it for us.

At the bottom of the hill, just before I turned right into the woods to go down the path that leads to the 5fri05apartments, there is a path where the greenery that has always caught my attention every time I walk by it. Nothing unusual I know, but years ago the railway line was going along here, and the way the trees and bushes had reclaimed the land had me in admiration of nature once again.

Being a City boy, I’m learning all the time.

Limped down the path and through to the flats and a WRWW.

5fri06Put the things away and got the meal going, early today.

I nibbled a beetroot from the new jar when I opened it, and the taste was perfect.

Unfortunately, I didn’t put the lid back on correctly, and the result was another fine mess for me to clean up. Hey-ho!

The ulcer was still stinging a bit, but I’ve had it far worse. It was Anne Gyna joining in that gave me more hassle and pain, again! Huh!

Horrible night.

Inchcock Today Tuesday 11th October 2016: Photograph Booth at Asda-Walmart go part-time!

2tue01a

Tuesday 11th October 2016

0430hrs: Woke up, it was cold here this morning. No recollections of dreams beyond those I recorded in yesterday’s post. Tsk! I was soon out of the £300 second-hand recliner in response to a demand for a WRHH session. Haem Aroids were bleeding again, but otherwise no hiatus.

Arthur Itis was gentle and calm at this stage, even Anne Gyna had relented and was being kind to me.

Into the kitchen and cleaned the pots that I’d left soaking in the bowl in the sink.

Took the medications and made a cuppa. Onto the laptop to complete yesterday’s diary and start this one off.

I’d like to get the photographs done later at Asda (Walmart) that I took at last weeks Tenants Social Hour. Get some milk and Deofab if I remember too.

Did some graphicalisationing for later, and did Facebooking for a short while.

2tue02Had a couple… well, alright then, six chocolate biscuits.

Then got the ablutioning done.

Popped on the scales, but we needn’t go into that in any detail, do we now?

Ahem!

Sorted the waste bags and took them to the chute. Got the shopping bags and went down to get the L9 bus into Arnold. Handed the Tenants at the stop, some chocolate coin nibbles and today they chattered with me.

I was soon dropping off the bus in Arnold. I ambled gently along to the Saver Store where I’m glad to report; they had some of the Deobab sprays in stock, and I got a couple. They also had some more chocolate coins at half price, Listerine and some Dettol Soap Tablets on offer.

2tue03Paid the lady and out and onwards to the Asda-Walmart Store. Passing this window display en route:

The retro stuffed animals, radios and music centres looked impressive, if yer like that sort of thing.

Arrived at the Asda shop – Where again the photography booth was closed?

I investigate to find out that it is closed Mondays and Tuesdays and is opening later and closing earlier on Wednesday to Fridays from now on? Tsk!

Did some shopping, bought too much again, huh! Distilled malt vinegar, a jar of pickled eggs, baby beetroots, Vegetable gravy powder, lemon frazzles, cheese-twists, vine tomatoes, Cheesy topped rolls, Anchor butter (Smallest pack), Apples and some prepared peas and carrots.

2tue04Paid the gal at the checkout, and for some reason struggled with carrying the bags out and up the hill to the bus stop? Felt winded, and Arthur Itis was complaining about it. Hehe!

Had to stop half way up the little hill. I didn’t like that, never had to do so before.

Hey-ho!

2tue05 I had a good while to wait for the bus.

Noticed a new poster had been put in the shelter. One for KFC. ‘Weh one fillet, just won’t – Fill it. New Stacker?

I was feeling too weary to try and work out what it wanted to tell me to do or buy, or whatever.

A good while later, the bus sign informed me that the L9 was due in 9 minutes – then 13 minutes and later 12 minutes? It did arrive in 2tue06eight minutes.

A lady who got on the bus before the L9 arrived, cheered me up a bit bless her pickled walnuts – she, or someone, had sewn some teddy bear heads onto her jeans!

I had to smile, as the lady was about 55-60 years old too! Good for her!

2tue07When the bus got to the ring road island, there was no traffic whatsoever about!

There was just one Nottingham Pavement Cyclist all on his own, though.

I found out later from Pat in Canada that I’d missed the cyclist off altogether, he was too quick for me. Oh, I do feel a fool! Hehehe!

We got to the flats in no time, but there were so many buses about, we could not get to the bus stop for ages.

2tue08What had happened apparently: It was time for swap-over for the bus drivers, and one of the buses had conked out!

With not being able to get to the kerbside, the driver of the bus would not risk me getting off with the bus being so high from the ground.

Another person to be blessed for caring today!

Called at Olive’s on the way up, no answer.

2tue09Got in and tended to a WRWW, then sorted the purchases out and stored them in their appropriate places. Got the vegetables in the saucepan and simmering away, laptop on for a bash on Facebook, then updated this

Found myself inaniloquently talking to myself on and off, more on than off?

2tue10Did some CorelDraw X8 graphicalisationing, then got the  fodder ready to consummation.

Spuds dotted with Vegemite, Surimi sticks, peeled Red Winsor apple, tomato, pickled egg, beetroot and vegetables. Two buttered cheesy cobs, and it all went down very nicely with thankfulness to Duo Denal for not spoiling the taste tonight. In fact, it was another great effort, rated this one 9.44/10 for taste.

Unhappily, I got bits of sticky vegemite all over the place eating it. The dressing gown, my chin, fingers and the £300 second-hand recliner cover, etc. Had to have a cleaning up session after eating it, Tsk!

2tue11The sky from the kitchen window looked so beautiful, as the evening descended. I say descended, is that the right word?

It dawned on me that we have not had much rain lately, and like magic, demands for a WRWW arrived via the bladder if ill repute! This gave me an idea for a funny rhyme post. I’ll work on that one in the morning.

Settled down, nibbles and tomato juice to hand to watch the Englan v Slovenia match, full of hopes and expectancies of an England victory. (Humph!)

2tue12

Another excruciatingly painful match to watch. Thank heavens the goalie Hart doing something right for a change. A tweet in the Guardian summed it up I think: “A clean sheet keeps England’s unbeaten run in qualifying matches going and makes sure they remain top of Group F. But Slovenia was the better team tonight and had the chances to win. They let themselves down with some shoddy finishing, however, while England was indebted to some fabulous saves from Joe Hart. After that performance, it’s safe to say that Wayne Rooney wasn’t the only problem.”

Depressed I got my head down.

Inchcock Today Saturday 8th October 2016: Computerisationing day, aching all over – But, I did get to talk with Olive

6sat01

Saturday 8th October 2016

Woke around 0130hrs, struggled out of the now refusing to work £300 second-hand recliner chair again and off for a WRWW. Back to the seat and the thing worked perfectly?

Settled down, soon got off again and dreamt of when I was once again an ankle-snapper living in the Meadows area of Nottingham. Not many details clear, though, I think I was on a railway line with some other nippers?

Up again at 0400hrs for another WRWW and WRHD session. The haemorrhoids were bleeding a good bit, perhaps the marathon walk yesterday had something to do with it? The feet, were still stinging from the marathon hobble? Arthur Itis was lingering, but Anne Gyna was giving me far less hassle.

Into the kitchen to take the medications, and made up another weeks pots. Made a brew and got the laptop on. Much computerisationing ensued. CorelDraw graphic creating, Facebooking and WordPressing, then checked the emails.

Hours later, Anne Gyna joined in with my other flipping ailments and started getting worse. Tsk!

p1120021I found a photograph on the camera that I’d missed off from the Goose Fair Album. Hehe!

It’s the ladies loos!

These are the ones for the fair! There is an automatic one with three cubicles at the far end that is there permanently for the tram passengers – but they need a degree in science to work out how to get yer 50p in and operate them they tell me. Haha!

Going to get my ablutionisationing done now, then pop to see if Olive was in.

The ablutionising was done, and Olive was in when I called. A nice chinwag and a peck or two followed, and she sent me back to the flat, feeling rather more contented. Although I was a bit worried, because she only told me off once. Hehe!

The reflux valve, Arthur Itis and Anne Gyna both pursued me as I got in the apartment and had a WRHD. Was I feeling old suddenly?

p1120045My eyes bigger than my stomach tonight.

Two small Krakowsa filled cobs, oven chips, mushrooms, beetroot, fish sticks, tomatoes, gherkin, mini pork pie with pickle, an egg followed by a lemon yoghourt apple and pot of mandarins in jelly.

Much of it was left uneaten and dished in the waste bin, I’m afraid, Tsk!

As for watching the TV, which I wanted to do to see some of the programmes I’d selected to, it was impossible. Dropping off, then jumping awake, sometimes the programme had finished, at times it seemed only a few seconds had passed. The nodding and waking-up went on, for hours it seemed.

With me stubbornly resisting getting me head down properly for some reason. Eventually, after a good nod-off of an hour or more, I gave up, turned off the TV, got settled and was in a seemingly deep asleep, no idea what time this was. But around 0230hrs I was back in the wetroom on the porcelain, struggling.

Humph!
