Up at 0400 hrs, ‘Little Inchy’ in a mess again. WC’d..

As the day went on the other ailments have started to reappear – Angina, Arthritis, reflux valve and even the stomach ulcer began to give me some gip. Tsk! And Humph! Not good this!

P1020684No mist this morning.

Must remember I’ve got to take me Postal Redirection forms, payment and Proof of ID to the Post Office today – I’ll try to catch the 0930 L9 bus into town.

Made a cuppa and took me medications, and got the laptop on. I downloaded the Grammarly add-on yesterday – it is really a good thing, and picks up more errors than other checkers and is easy to use too. It works on Google, WordPress and Word once installed. Obergruppenfurher is recognised!

Finished yesterday’s diary and started this one.

01W01a

One of many actually – poor old sausage Inchy

A lot of tasks coming up at the same time. Monday IR blood tests at the QMC, then to the City hospital, but not until late – might be, might not be staying in overnight. Might be having surgery might not, might be put back on the cream or not. I’m going to be well shattered on Tuesday morning if I do go home after my visit so late at night for me.

Tuesday BJ had arranged to lift me to the launderette; I was going to go to the Audio clinic then collect my prescriptions from the chemist… I’m all worn out and confused just thinking about it all. Poor old devil – hehe!

I hope the Post Office redirecting thing works out today.

P1020688Made another cuppa and checked to make sure I’d got me forms for the post Office, bus-pass, card and things ready to take with me.

Had a bath and swiftly got missen down to wait for the bus.

Had a great chin-wag and laugh with the other tenants in the lobby.

Got to town and straight into the Post Office. Got me queue ticket 78 and waited for my turn at the counter. Not long today, about half an hour to wait.

Then it got interesting – the young girl on the counter had not done one of these before, she was Asian, and I was having difficulty in hearing/understanding what she was saying. She had to keep consulting with a bloke who gave off the aura that he’d been working there for thirty years and had been the shop steward for forty of them!

P1020686I departed the post office so many pounds lighter and walked down King Street.

I noticed some pigeons having a go at some dropped fodder.

Then the sun came out momentarily, and I took my chance of trying out my fifth attempt at a ‘Moody’ photo of P1020685Nottingham as I walked up Upper Parliament Street.

Back to the bus stop and caught the L9 back to the flats.

I stayed awake for the entire trip.

Not bragging like…

P1020687Got a decent photograph through the bus’s front window of one of the flats in the distance as we turned down Sherwood Vale.

Got in and WC’d then put away the paperwork ID back in their folders.

I perused a leaflet that came with the Re-direct stuff from the Post Office, titled “Terma and Conditions for the Royal Mail Redirection Service and Special Circumstances Redirection Service” – what a mouthful!

P1020690The lettering was too small to read, and there were 12 pages of this waffle in the booklet. Apparently aimed at covering themselves from liability when they failed to redirect properly?

I got a bite to eat, and the fatigue came over me again, earlier than usual as well.

Gave up any thoughts of doing anything constructive and collapsed into the chair to watch the TV.

A call to the porcelain resulted in the actual adverse actions to what I had been getting, and it was a painful struggle to relieve myself. Tsk!

I managed somehow to stay awake to try and watch the film at 2100hrs, and sod me I fell asleep during the last commercial break and missed the ending! Grrr!

I hope I don’t end up going in the opposite direction and end up not being able to go instead. Bother!

Nightie night all…

Inchcock Today Sat 24 Oct 15: Out in the rain again, then Whoopsiedangleplops!

Saturday 24th October 2015

01topj3

Up at 0325hrs. In the chair again, feeling horrible, guilty and amazingly not wanting the WC?

This changed as soon as I moved me knees to see if they would allow me to stand up yet, and started the hernia off.

Little Inchy in a state again. I could not remember having any dreams at all, but I think I must have by the state of poor Little Inchy.

The rain has stopped now…

Cuppa and cornflakes this morning

The rain has stopped as the daylight forced its way through.

Cuppa and updated yesterdays not so good a day diary. Feeling rough, I did some Facebooking.

Time for me medications by the time I’d got it done and posted.

Had a good wash and brush up, too early to have a bath, the noise would disturb me neighbours.

Got myself ready for a walk to the Community Shed then through the Woodthorpe Grange Park into Sherwood and walk on to Carrington to get me monthly medications.

Wrapped up well, it looked like more rain to come.

I went down in the lift and there were about ten residents in the foyer, waiting for the bus to arrive – I suppose there would be more today, being a Saturday and there only being four buses all day to choose from. Had a natter and went out to walk to the shed.

The plans changed a bit here – I’d nearly reached the shed when I realised no one was on duty at the weekends. And I passed the memory test at the doctors???

01topj5 01topj6So I left by the other end of the complex and walked down Winchester Street onto Mansfield Road. Called at BJ’s house but he was out.

So back onto Mansfield Road up the hill, over and down into Carrington and got me prescription bag of goodies for the month.

Then in the paper shop to get me TV paper.

To Lidl, and got some cobs, Frikadellens and fish sticks.

01topj7Out into the now rather heavier rain to the bus stop.

Caught a bus back into Sherwood.

The bus was filled up but I managed to get on one of those drop down seats near the front.

Whoopsie1

I went Arse-over-end when I came to getting up to get off in Sherwood…

I got missen tangled up with one of the bags and as I went down the medication packs fell out all over the place, luckily the bottles and tubes didn’t break. Like a shot, most the caring Nottingham public transport users remained seated but looked sympathetically at me, one young lad did help get me stuff back in the bags and watched me safely off the bus. Tsk, felt such a fool again!

01topj8I stood under the bus shelter for a while as the rain turned into torrential downpour mode, to adjust and sort missen out. I’m afraid that Little Inchy got squashed in me fall and rise to and from the bus floor – he was bleeding again now!

Ah-well… over the road and into the 01topj9bNottingham Hospice Charity shop, gave em me bits, bought a Brian Clough book titled ‘Cloughie 150 BC – The inside stories’ for a quid.

Then up to the Co-op store and bought another tin of the Vegetable-Chilli-con-carnie. Bit of luck here, they were reducing some frozen foods to clear, so I got three small packets of sweet potato lumps/balls at 50p a pack! Also got pack of out of date fish-sticks at 49p for ten sticks to have with me tinned kippers later in the week.

Whoopsie2 When I got to the check-out the lady pointed out that I was bleeding from me ear-hole. Tsk and huh! She insisted on fetching a first aider, I put a tissue to me ear and there was only a drop of blood, must have caught it on me first Whoopsiedangleplop on the bus – any-road, I bent down to me bag to get some more paper towel and clouted me head on the edge of the counter!

Much to the annoyance of those in the queue, the first-aider arrived and had a look at me. Then other concerned staff arrived? Then the manager who wanted to fill in an accident book – I told him that the accident if there was one indeed, happened earlier on the bus – everyone lost interest and the lady asked me for £5.99, tutted and gave me the change along with a voucher, this time for £1.50 off if I spend over £15 before the 30th of the month.

I was a bit confused with all the happenings, so stood a while to gather me senses (And lets face it, me and sense are getting further apart lately... Hehehe!

01topj9cMoved on out and up over and down the hill then up through Woodthorpe Grange Park, the rain easing nicely.

At the top of the path a chap with his dog passed and the tail-wagging thing came to me for a bit of fuss, and he got it too!

Down the crumbling footpath to the flats and got in the flat just in time to the WC. Had to clean-up painful ‘Little Inchy’. (Humph – getting fed up with this now – Grrr!)

01topj4Th ear-hole looked okay, just a tiny scratch.

Nice little lump on me head from the Co-op Whoopsiedangleplop though.

Sorted out me new medications, then rotated them with the few left over from last month in the drawer.

Put the food away, and having some Chilli in the pan from last night, I added some red-beans in tomato juice to it along with some cubed potatoes to have later.

Laptop back on, because I didn’t feel up to starting to sort out or cleaning up as I had originally planned to get done.

A couple of dizzies came in quick succession, so I got the wrist alarm on me wrist, just in case, cause I felt… er ‘A bit odd’. No jokes please! Hehe!

P1020292

What a tasty nosh! Rated this 9.4/10

Facebooked a bit.

Had me nosh chilli, potatoes with two Frikkadelen and four cobs, followed by can cream on Lemon cheesecake.

Rated 9.4/10 for this one, tasty!

Then I washed the pots and got me head down due to the sudden on-start of fatigue once more.

It seems like my days are getting shorter as I flake out earlier each day it seems?

Hey-ho, take care all.

Inchcock Today Fri Oct : BJ takes me to Ikea in search of a book case

Friday 23rd October 2015

Up at 0525hrs. Once more distorted in the chair, having failed to get me down on me quilt again before nodding off. Reckon I had a good five hours actual kip, good that, and no waking up to use the porcelain – so straight to the porcelain!

While sat there worrying about the amount of blood coming out, I recalled something of a dream I’d had about me jumping from cloud to cloud in the sky being chased.

So, the blood from Little Inchy and my rear end as has been normal recently, was cleaned up, although a lot more this morning from the rump end. Had a wash.

Kettle on and took me medications.

Remembered BJ is calling today and is going to give me a lift to Ikea bless him.

Finished yesterdays diary off then started this one.

Facebooked to catch up in case I get busy later in the event that I get a bookcase from Ikea to assemble.

Reflux valve playing up now, first time or days though.

I did a search for Nottingham Building Society advert for the old house cause I was sure by now they would have got it on the market ready for offers etc after I’d begged the to get a move on and told their representative how urgent the need was considering me dwindling finances.

01topj3Found it eventually, and clicked on the View Property Details button:

Nothing, it said ‘Coming Soon – Call branch for details.

Nice to know the Nottingham Building Society is rushing to help me out. <%”666!£$£$!

As Steve from Age UK recommended them I shouldn’t not be surprised.

IMG_0047

He suggested I use Painter Paul to do me flat when I moved in – that is Painter Paul who got more paint on the wooden door edges than the walls, I’m still finding splashed of paint now after two months!

He then suggested I use United Carpets.

United CHuh! The worst possible choice – Cowboys, crap!

Made me pay up front, told me as all the boards outside the shop did that Free Fitting on all Carpets did, then told me I’d need an extra £100 in cash to pay the fitter on the day!

DSCF0256Who came late without the carpet, tore off me electric socket from the wall, left me with two doors that would not close cause of the carpet too high and left me a load of rubbish to sort out, bless the conning antisocial criminals and superior scrotes!

Steve also suggested I get me TV from John Lewis.

So foolishly I took his advice again. After the men came to fit it up – The TV reception was crap, they told me I’d need to get a signal booster, the remote control was different to the one in the manual and i still haven’t worked it all out yet and keep getting into different modes when I fall asleep and don’t know how which button I’d hit to get into the different mode… most unsatisfactory!

St02So naturally when Steve from Age UK said to use the NBS, I did.

So, if there are any 70 year old single blokes out there with arthritis, reflux valve sticking, hernia, skin cancer, duodenal ulcers, angina, heart valve replacement, haemorrhoids, dizzy spells, high BP, high cholesterol, depression, deaf, bald, overweight, 5’3″ tall, suffering with excessive involuntary wind, on 22 medications a day, lack of confidence and with no one to help you get through – Steve of Age UK is yer man!

Mind you, trying to get in touch with him is dodgy when yer deaf. He’ll appreciate this and understand and give you n incorrect email address so you can get in touch with him, as he had a phobia of his own in answering phone calls… I know this, I’ve tried 11 times in two days and no answer.

He’ll tell you your house will sell quickly once it’s on the market. And now, after 5 months it is still not on the market properly, but maybe next month it will be?He cunningly gives you other problems to worry about, Dodgy crap carpet fitters, TV’s that don’t work, Painters that use one tin of emulsion to paint three rooms and still splash a third of it on wooden doors,, sinks, cupboards, WC, bath etc…

Bitter? Frustrated? Me?

LyzKandRFacebooked me latest updated graphic for the TFZ team.

Washed and ready for BJ to arrive at 1030hrs in plenty of time, and I was waiting down in the lobby by 1015hrs.

Crosswording as I waited… 1030hrs arrived and left… 1100hrs came and IMG_0042went, I decided to have a walk to the end of Chestnut Walk to meet BJ when he arrived.

I waited on the corner looking down at the laundry building.

I utilised me me little camera to take some shots of the greenery flowers etc.

IMG_0047 IMG_0046

I was surprised at the blackberries in clumps with so many different levels of growth. Some overripe, some green, some ripening.

Tried to take a decent shot of some flowers a bit further up the road. Not to bad a shot, I only had me little camera with me.

Still, looking at these photographs now, I found there was something of beauty in them? I spotted the leaves were new strong and gleaming, while so many others were dying or dead. Something I’ve never properly seen in the past, just walked by?

The mobile rang for just a second or so, it was BJ – so I rang him back. He was running late (I expect nothing else from good old BJ, he’s never been on time for any meetings since I’ve known the lad). He told me he’d be here at 1140hrs. So, being about 1115hrs, I poddled back along Chestnut Way to wait in the reception area in the flats, as it was getting a bit nippy stood about outside.

On the walk back, I spotted though the bushes on the roadside, looking down the really steep hill, there was what was originally some steps cut out in the IMG_0043ground and a parting in the trees/bushes.

I took this photo of the leaf covered steps and the danger of using them – but the picture doesn’t show them very well.

Hey-ho, so I’m never not going to be a David Bailey then! Hehe!

More crosswording at the flats and soon it was 1200hrs gone – so I walked back to the corner to meet with BJ when he arrived.

About 1225hrs he arrived, and I could see the lad was uptight about something ad not on good form.

We went into Sherwood and he collected some prescriptions from Boots, after getting a bit angry at not finding a parking spot. Then we walked up the hill and he got some nibbles from the cake shop.

I was concerned that BJ was not too well, he took some of his medications when we left the chemists.

We were off to Ikea, being unable to find a space to park in BJ got more uptight than he was earlier bless him.

We plodded through the store and I got a Book-case, a three shelf metal storage unit that I hope will fit in me kitchen in the space they left for a washer.

We were there for a long time. I felt a bit guilty as BJ was not happy.

When we got to the place where you pick-up your choices BJ was irate with things. I thought his anger was due to him missing his medications and felt guilty again bothering him. He was so drained and stressed and i cold do nothing to help him. It was made worse when we found we had to go to another department after paying for everything.

He bought a wind-up torch for a relative and I insisted I pay for it in thanks for his efforts to help me out.

Then as we reloaded the stuff – three really heavy box’s, a cushion and cover onto the trolley at the checkout, I pulled me hernia into painful action and am now suffering badly with it – then I was in a bad mood too! Tsk!

IMG_0048We went and joined the queue to get the Book-case box’s – took ages and my guilt increased.

It was worrying to see the queue at the Complaints and Returns desk, of about 12 unhappy looking people!

When it finally arrived (the bookcase) in more two box’s, we left to the loading IMG_0049area and poor old BJ had to walk a long way to fetch the car. All the time cars were circling around looking for a space. A nightmare!

Very painfully we loaded BJ’s car with my stuff.

As I waited I spotted a sign opposite the loading area. “Getting your shopping home couldn’t be easier!” Humph!

BJ called at a relatives house on the way back, then he dropped me and the heavy awkward box’s off at the flats. And damn me, the key-swipe entry doors were not working! This really got to BJ and he was almost angry. I understood and said nothing to get him going worse.

There he was, trying to help a mate out, not feeling good himself, medications needed, shopping for others en route, car parking, queuing at Ikea, everything seemed to be going against him today – I felt terrible about it all. And now, even the mechanical things were against us!

Painfully, very painfully we got the stuff up and into the flat bedroom. BJ said he was sorry for things and his attitude today, but he could’t get to help me assemble the stuff we’d bought for a week or so. I (Feeling guilty still) said not to worry, and thanked him for helping me again.

I decided in the morning to call at this house and see how he was feeling.

Off he went well drained bless his cotton socks.

I managed to put the over on the cushion before fatigued I threw a tin of chilli and one of beans into a pan for me nosh. Put some lemon curd yoghurt and soured cream in the dish and visited the porcelain, where I fell asleep. Oh dear!

IMG_0050I woke up ten minutes or so later, so very glad I’d put the hob on minimum, and it wasn’t burnt.

So tired now.

My plan was to get the laptop on and update this diary.

In reality I fell asleep in the chair with me plate of empty dishes on the tray (Oh, the new tray I forgot, I got this from Ikea as well, thanks to BJ) at the side of the seat.

Felt horrible when I woke up.

Inchcock Today Wed 21 Oct 15: Laundry – heavy rain so no walk in the park

Wednesday 21st October 2015

01topj1

Up at 0520hrs, TV blazing away again, headphones on me lap in the chair I’d nodded off in yet again.

Thoughts of me dreams I’d had were not very clear or many. Not much idea what I’d dreamt of at all. but I wish I knew, cause little Inchy was in a right state. The dried congealed blood and pain told me I’d been dreaming of something erotic perhaps?

Hehehe!

Spent hours catching up on Facebook and WordPress from the time I had been made Internetless by Virgin Media, who are crap… did I mention this earlier?

Got me things ready for the Laundry room and had a wash of sorts.

Took some nibbles down with me for any tenants I might meet, me camera and pen and crossword book.

Got down in the room and realised I’d forgot to take me coins down with me for the machines. Huh!

Back up to collect some and down again.

DSCN0042One or two tenants were amassing in the reception area and I gave em a nibble and had a chin-wag with some after I’d got the washers going.

There is one old dear who often goes to catch the first bus, thin drawn, stern looking, who doesn’t get involved with the chin-wags with the others and tends to get ignored a bit, she was there this morning. I always go out of me way to try and cheer her up. She never seems to start any discussions, or reply to anything said to her with more than a single word like, Yes, No, Mmm or a shake or nod of the head. I have given myself a mission to make her smile. My EQ tells me she is unhappy and I want to bring a little cheer to her. My next stage next time I see her is to ask her some questions to try and  get her opening up a tad, you know, questions like “Where were you brought up?”, “What do you think of…” type of open questions that seek a mutli-worded reply. She needs to know that someone cares I’m sure of this, bless her. At least this morning she took a nibble from me bag of goodies at the second prompting.

They went off to catch the bus and I got me crossword book out.

Found myself singing away to missen again this morning.

Eventually the machine was done, and I had to wait a while for a naughty resident who was drying only came down earlier and started the one free drier Tsk!

Moved the togs into the drier and got it going, thought I might have a walk into Sherwood while waiting, but the heavy rain put me off like.

Back to the crossword book.

Arthur Itis let me know his displeasure at yesterdays marathon walk as I limped back up to the flat with me fresh smelling clothes.

Whoopsie When I put the togs away, I hung the dressing gown on me proudly ‘Self Erected’ Ikea clothes rack – as I turned to struggle back out through all the mass of stuff that still needs sorting – the clothes rack collapsed. Oh dear I thought.

Tried again to get some of the paint off the door edges that Paul the Painter had left for me. No good!

Got me potatoes in the oven and prepared me nosh. I remembered to add me battered fish-cakes to the tray an hour later in an attempt to get them both cooked right at the same time.

Then I jumped in the bath… (Jumped? Me? What a misused word). I took me night attire from the airing cupboard with me into the bathroom, ran the bath while I had a shave teggies etc – then struggled dangerously, nervously and bravely into the bath.

Getting out was more taxing but I managed it… although again painfully.

‘Little Inchy’ had very little bleeding I was glad to find.

Wiped around and the nosh was ready for serving.

DSCN0043Oiled Roast potatoes, bread thins, sliced peppers, baked beans, battered fish-cake, cheesed cob followed by an ice-cream cheesecake with extra cream from me aerosol thingy… oh, and of course me can of Roasted Kippers in vegetables.

The potatoes and kippers were nice, all the other ingredients disappointed a bit. So only a 6.5/10 rating.

So weary again now, although I hadn’t done much today, yesterdays marathon hobble had got to me I think.

Fell asleep.

Woke up, cleaned the pots and kitchen, returned to see if owt was on the goggle-box worth watching… fell asleep… each time I woke either the knees or the reflux valve was giving me some gip.

Inchcock Today Mon 19 Oct 15: Transportation Whoopsiedangleplops… and more!

Monday 19th October 2015

Up at 0420hrs – Once and yet again straight t’porcelain!

I wrote down some bits of the dreams I could recall for once, not remembered any for ages now. Yesterday after losing the memories while on the porcelain seconds after remembering them induced me to leave paper and pen in the bathroom. (Clever that!)

I think I was heaven, or at least queuing at the gates: A long long line of us former mortals awaiting to be accepted, or not as the case may be. All Nationalities seemed to be there, somehow I knew many of them had died horribly in battle etc but they all seemed to have their limbs and body parts attached? Don’t know why, but this fascinated me somewhat as I recall?

A chap wearing a robe approached as he walked down he line carrying what looked like mobile phone. He came straight to me and said something like “Ah, you is it, we’ve been waiting for you for a long time – take this recorder and get the name of each of the first 1000 deceased morons then bring it to me in the brothel… He looked like John Cleese.

This part of the dream remained with me and seemed very clear to me. The rest just bits – Going down the line and all the people spoke in English and told me how they had died… can’t remember going to the brothel with the results as I seemed to have been transported to another dream.

01topj4I was living inside a blue-bottle body (Earlier in the week I did a funny graphic of this scenario, suppose this must be linked?) trying to tell someone about this and getting squatted dead by everyone I landed on to call down their ear-hole and beg for help?

Then I was flying around diving down to people to ask for their forgiveness for things I’d done in the past – the people were from my own past, I remember several schoolteachers, a policeman and girlfriends. there were I’m sure many many more and this dream seemed to go on and on and on?

Little Inchy for once was not bleeding profusely, just leaking a tad.

Coughing and sneezing a bit, with aching knees and feet (How they could be aching when I’d only been up for 20 minutes after 4 hours kipping in the chair where I fell asleep, I didn’t understand) into the kitchen kettle on and medications taken.

I realised as I pondered on but decided against having a pot of porridge, that I was singing to myself again, and it took a while to rid me mind of Elvis’s “Who wants to buy a heart”.

Laptop on, still singing “Who wants to buy a heart” – (Oh no… it was called “One broken heart for sale, wasn’t it?) to myself and decided to bus it to town later, and catch the new tram to the Queens Medical Centre for me Warfarin INR blood level test. This made me check to make sure me wonderful much appreciated Pensioners Free Bus-pass was in me pocket ready. Thankfully we use these on both the buses and trams.

LyzziShoeFinished yesterdays diary off and then did some graphicalisationing then Facebooking.

Did two for the TFZ gals:

One of Lyzzi with her beloved shoe shopping.

And one of Nancy being alluring and teasing with a chap of unknown origin!

NancySatGot a bath shave and change of togs readied the things for me outing to the hospital.

Bus-pass, INR Warfarin blood level record card, nibbles for the nurses, and took camera, mobile and bird seed with me. Couldn’t find me spare pair of long distance glasses?

Down and had a natter with some residents as I waited for the bus to arrive.

P1020278Got into town (despite falling asleep on the bus) and plodded into slab square to catch the tram.

The sky was bright little clouds, an unwarm Autumn sun coming through.

Noticed on the top of the large Debenhams building on the roof of it that is, was where the pigeons had 01topj7gathered for a conference. (Hehe).

Swiped me bus-pass on the machine and got on the tram and was off.

I was going to do me crosswords but couldn’t find me pen – Huh!

Thus started the Whoopsiedangleplops!

P1020281Dozed a bit for a few seconds here and there like and then it dawned on me… I was on the wrong tram going the opposite way to the Queens Medical Centre! What a plonka!

P1020288

Down by the riverside at Wilford Bridge

Got off at Wilford and crossed the line, waited and got on the tram going the other way to go back to town to catch the tram I should have caught! Ticket Inspectors got on – and put me off at Wilford Bridge cause I’d forgot to swipe me card on the platform due to me Whoopsiedangleplop of getting in the wrong tram confusing me.

I took a walk by the river. Took photographs it and the statue of Sr P1020287Robert Jukes Clifton, Member of Parliament for Nottingham from 1861 to 1866, then again from 1868 until his premature death the following year.

The stonework stained and chipped, his nose vandalised, covered in bird pooh, I had to look up who up who he was when I got home.

Plodded back to the tram platform and made sure I wiped me card this time.

Trammed it back into Nottingham.

P1020280Not many folk on the tram this third time I’d been on one up to now today. Tsk!

Took a photo on the tram to show how empty it was. Noticed after I’d put the photo it in this diary later, how remarkably the chap sat in front of me, looked like me? Apart from his having hair on his head like.

Dropped off in town and crossed over to catch the correct tram this time to Toton, swiped me card on the platform.

Got off at the QMC, and went to find out how to get to the Haematology department from the tram stop. There were two volunteer ‘Helpers’ who came to assist me. They asked if they could help, I told them where I needed to get to. The lady suggested I walk down the three flights of steps to the ground level and catch a bus around to the front of the building? Then the bloke said walk down to the ground floor, (He pointed down to a door in the distant building) and go through that door, lift on your left, go to floor B and follow the signs for the Main Entrance and you’ll get to the blood room.

I struggled down the stairs, up the path into the door as indicated, then spent several minutes looking for the lift on my left? No luck. So I took the stairs to what I thought was B floor and ended up walking through… well I’ve no idea really… There were no nurses doctors or patients, just machinery part dismantled and folk walking about, I think maybe I was in a training section or something like that? Being a bloke I didn’t ask for direction just plodded on hoping to find me bearings again…

No one asked me who I was or what I was there for, much of the equipment looked technical and expensive.

Eventually I saw a sign for  ‘To the Main Entrance’ and followed further ones, down the stairs, through more training rooms – students were being given lessons in what looked like a laboratory and I just walked through without being challenged?

Found a familiar corridor I’d used before, and hobbled on me way through many corridors to the blood-room.

If I had caught the bus in the first place I reckon I could have saved three hours off me journey time. I had to laugh to missen, Tsk!

Took me ticket, got a free Metro newspaper and had a read while I waited for me number to be called. Had me blood test done and out of the front to catch a bus back to town.

I think I’ll give catching the tram to the QMC a miss next time! Huh!

Back in town, I realised by getting myself in a pickle with the trams and then lost in the QMC buildings I’d missed me clinic appointment! Oh dear… must email them, grovel and explain why – might send them this diary eh? Hehe!

I had over 45 minutes to wait for the next L9 bus back to the flats, so foolishly I went into Primark and had a look at their jumpers and cardigans on sale… ended up spending again!P1020289

Made me way from the store to the bus-stop, a few minutes walk, and during that time encountered eight pavement cyclists.

When I got to the bus-stop I met Norman, a fellow Woodthorpe Court inmate… I mean resident dweling on the same floor as wot I do. I love listening to Norman, a bit like me, he forgets he’s already told you a tale and goes through it again – but I don’t mind at all and love hearing his tales from his past.

Got in said cheerio to Norman and got to the porcelain with seconds to spare! Painful session.

P1020290Made a cuppa and laptop on to update this diary, but felt so tired after me day of Whoopsiedangleplops I just did some Facebooking then got me nosh made and digested.

Another good one this was, rated it a worthy 9.3/10

Used the last of me Sweet potato wedges to have with a can of the nice chilli con carne, followed by a banana and lemon curd yoghurt with soured cream.

After that I added some more Sweet potatoes to me Morrison order for tomorrow.

Then fatigued I flaked out.

Woke up with the TV still going (Can’t remember putting on?) at 0125hrs.

What a day!

Fri 16 Oct 15: Inchcock Today: More confused than ever after today…

Friday 16th October 2015

IMG_0036

That’s cleared some anyway…

GC blue01

Wilko delivery arrives…

Up at 0350hrs – straight t’porcelain yet again – ‘Little Inchy’ in a state yet again. Looked at the Wilko stuff that needed sorting and set about sorting some.

Well that couple of hours graft did me a lot of good: Now, Arthur Itis has started in me knees and hands, the Reflux valve is making me gasp and me back is playing up again!

WC’d, then made a cuppa, groaned, muttered and moaned a bit to myself and took me medications.

Emails checked, Graphicalisationing started then Facebooked for a while.

Luckily, or unfortunately which ever way you look at it, I realised I’d done me night medication pots up wrongly! Huh, fancy that and Tsk! So I lost an hour or two in resorting them and taking out the second Ramipril capsule I put in the pot in error and replacing it with the Omeprozole I’m missed out.

Back on the laptop to Coreldraw, while listening to G F Haendel’s Water Music on YouTube, very nice.

AndyDid some Facebooking, a lot of Facebooking and some more graphicalisations too.

I changed to listening to some Trad Jazz. (Good this, I just  hope nobody knocks on me door or rings me while the headphones are on me head!)

Still not bathed or shaved yet, and it’s now gone 0900hrs.

I got myself cleansed and polished, and down with the laundry to get it washed and dried. Took me cross-word book with me to try and do some while waiting.

One of the lifts was not working, but I got down alright and soon had me washing in the one free machine and was out in the reception area doing me crosswords for an hour while I waited for the machine to finish.

A lady came past me into the room with a big bag of drying to do and I had to go in and tell her not to use the one drier as my washing would be done in 7 minutes and if she, who had washed her clothes in her machine in her flat used it, that meant I would have to wait well over an hour after waiting already for over an hour for the washer to finish to get my clothes dried. She was alright about it and said she’d come down later.

IMG_0037Got me things into the drier a few minutes later and settled again with me crossword book to wait. Met a few residents and had little natter here and there.

Caught a squirrel outside through the window in the car park though.

I popped back in to see how the drying was going and it had stopped after about 10 minutes. Had to put more money in again, but it went okay this time.

Got the togs out and back up to the flat. Put some of them in the airing, and hung up the others on me Ikea clothes rack, that I am pleased to report has not yet collapsed.

WC’d and made a cuppa, laptop on to update this tosh.

Turning even colder as the day gets on.

Facebooked while awaiting arrival of Steve from Age UK and Nottingham Building Society man.

Steve rang, he might be late arriving asked me to let the NBS man (Sam) know.

Then Sam the NBS man arrived and started talking but his voice was not in tune wiv me hearing-aids. Hard work.

Steve Age UK arrived and they talked and I guessed what they were saying, my lip-reading skills are not good.

I was presented with many papers and signed them. Dug out various paperwork (Showing off me folder/files system) to prove I owned the house and who I was like.

I needed to pay some money to the NBS and gave Steve my card and he got on the phone and paid them via me Visa thingy.

They were off and gone and then I got a recorded message from the bank telling me that five transactions had taken place? Not one as Steve and the NBS man had told me?

I rang Steve as this worried me a bit. Of course no answer as he was off work now.

Worried about this, but there is nowt I can do until Monday at the earliest! Oh dear!

Got me nosh, and had me medications.

This nosh despite me worrying about the bank – was a Super-Nosh!

01topj3Rated this 9.4/10.

Sorted me medication pots out.

The usual nowadays fatigue dawned on me.

In fact I fell asleep on the porcelain!

Woke with a jolt then sorted out some programmes to watch on the TV and wrote them down – then fell asleep again before they started!

Inchcock Today – Tue 13 Oct 15: Housebound thanks to Wilko – Must remember to thank em!

Tuesday 13th October 2015

Up at 0415 – straight to the porcelain – usual bleeding front the and rear. Cleaned missen up.

Kettle on for a cuppa, took me medications.

Today being the day for me Wilko order to arrive at the flats – and that’s all it is guaranteed to do – as the lady who I spoke with from Wilko said it will be up to the courier driver whether he/she will take the goods upstairs for me or not, as apparently they do no have insurance cover for using the lifts?

01topj6I emailed Deana Walker the Obergruppenfurher for the flats with a request that the caretaker might keep an eye out for the delivery and assist me getting me stuff up to the flat in the event that the driver is unwilling to.

Got an interesting Automatic email in return:

01topj7It informed me that she is on holiday Monday 7th September returning to work on Monday 14th September?

It is October innit?

Confused now.

Twixt 12 > 1400hrs Asda should be delivering.’

So, as I don’t know the number for the shed so can’t ring them, I rang Deana’s mobile – no answer, no voice-mail. Assuming I rang the right number.

Can’t go out to ask anyone to pass on a message or go to the hut in case the delivery should arrive and they call me on the intercom?

In a building with 200 other residents and so alone at the same time. Hehe!

Ah well, I’ll get some graphics done then, oh, I’ll make another cuppa first.

Frustrating day and I’ve only been up for five hours…

Started doing some graphicalisationing.

Email in from Wilko, telling me that Night freight had despatched four parcels, and will update me further if needed?

Asda delivery arrived. Not much in it today, but got some seasoned fries I’m looking forward to later.

Had a Pot Noodle for nosh, added some Marmite to boost it a bit.

Tried to clean the draining board again, but it’s too scratched and not nice to look at. Tried the expensive Fairy Deep cleaner on it, no good.

No signs of the Wilko delivery yet.

Back to creating me graphics.

Got some done ready to use later when I get me Duncan post done.

Made a cuppa nd took me evening medications.

Getting hungry now, but don’t want to waste me food if I cook me chips and the Wilko delivery arrives. But will it? Getting on now, nearly 1700 hours… will it arrive… ♫ Dang dang dang dang! ♫

Well, gone 1800hrs and no Wilko delivery.

I’ve emailed enquiries at Wilko to inform them. Tsk!

Disappointed to say the least, a wasted day!

IMG_0008Got me chips and pork thingies in’t oven cooking.

Took medications.

This nosh was grand.

Rated it 9.2/10.

Head down and so disappointed with the Wilko Non-delivery

TTFN all.

Inchcock Today: Fri 9 Oct 15 – Memory Test Today – Steve coming from Age UK – Wilko Whoopsiedangleplop!

Friday 9th October 2015

Up at 0455hrs. WC’d – Little Inchy bleeding badly, took ages to get it to stop this morning. Bloodied me new pyjama bottoms too – Huh!

Cuppa and took me medications and finished yesterdays diary and started this one off.

P1020250Falling off to sleep last night I didn’t post me nosh. So here it is: A salad of such a size I could only eat part of it – definitely a case of me eyes being bigger than me stomach! Hehe!

Red peppers, mushrooms in oil, pork pat’e, pork & pickle pies, pickled egg, mixed leaves, beetroot, bacon…

The large slice of the lemon curd Swiss roll got eaten though. Rated this dollop as 9.2/10.

Checked me emails and replied to em.

Got me Memory test today at noon at the GP surgery.

Steve from Age UK calling later to tell me about how things went with the £850 house clearance man, and the next stage in getting the old house sold. It seems to me I was young and had hair when Steve first told me: “No problem, we’ll soon have this house sold!” Almost 6 months have passed since he uttered those first encouraging words to me… Gobbleblottingcrap!

Still, he’s a nice laid-back bloke. Gave him a tin of Cadburys Celebration chocolates for Christmas yesterday… thought it might encourage him to get a move on…?

I get visions of his chasing after the hearse with me in it on the way to the cremated, shouting out “It’s sold… the house has gone…” Hehe, might as well laugh it’ll probably happen!

01topj4One of the new can openers fell to pieces as I was opening a tin of beans to marinate wiv me special seasonings. Gave up.

That’s the forth one since I’ve been here in this flat! No wonder I buy two at a time!

I seem to remember as a kid using one like this one in the photo. And it lasted for donkeys years!

I’m moaning again ain’t I?… Tsk!

P1020251Had a bath and shave and set off on me walk to the doctor’s surgery.

At the end of Chestnut walk as I turned right down Winchester Street. I couldn’t help but notice the beauty of the trees changing colour and took a photo of one. Absolutely beautiful!

P1020252Towards the bottom of the road was something, looked like paint to me, had decorated it and the vehicles had made the spillage whatever it was into Art-Deco street art!

It doesn’t show up well on the first P1020253photo I took of it.

At the junction a klaxon-blaring paramedic car went through towards the City Centre and I noticed whatever it was got sprayed by the tyres as the emergency vehicle belted passed.

P1020254When the traffic eased when the lights changed I took another photo.

It looked to me like a vehicle turning right had spilt the stuff when it was hit from behind.

I plodded on up the hill to the Sherringham Park practice.

Got in and booked missen in, checked with the receptionist about the time of me INR blood test on Monday are, and when me next monthly prescriptions will be ready.

The nurse called me in for the Memory Test.

She asked me what day it was, what the date was, then told me name address and colour to remember. Asked me to name the months backwards, then asked me what the name address and colour. I got the town wrong.

She left the room and returned, said they were going to send me to see some people for further tests, one at the City Hospital, one at the Queens and i was not to worry about seeing… not sure if she said Psychologist or Psychiatrist now.

she was her usual friendly self and said she was certain that when I got rid of the house worries and it was sold and done with, things would improve for me on their (Or should that be there?) own.

I gave her some nibbles and shot off to get the bus into town, to try to get some coasters that would fit under the chair legs to stop the carpet getting misshapen and torn.

P1020256Got in town and boy it was busy!

Went in Wilkinson’s store and asked a member of staff if they sold owt that would protect me carpet from the wooden chair legs.

The young man walked me (I struggled to keep up with me though) to the shelves where they were.

I pondered over them and bought some I thought might do the job. Glides they were called. Also got some Velcro-squares that could be useful, and some stick on little clear hooks to hang me stuff on the wall in the kitchen. Good job Duncan is visiting me tomorrow to help out bless him.

P1020255Had a walk around town for a while and the place was even busier than it was when I arrived.

Walked to the bus-stop and waited for the L9 bus to arrive.

There was a carer with a chap in the queue and the poor man was looking a tad threatening as he kept leering at folk who passed and was leaning in their direction. But it was obvious he was in some way handicapped. I said Good morning to him and he tried his best to hold a conversation. I think the carer was surprised when I tried to speak with the chap and I purposely did a lot of smiled in his direction. Poor bloke.

I said Cheerio to the man when they got off the bus, and the smile on his face made me feel so proud. Bet I meet him again… I hope.

Struggled to stay awake on the bus again.

Got back to the flat and put down the times of the appointments on e Google diary while I thought about it.

The gliders were too large for the chair legs and keep coming of each time I move or adjust the chair! Tsk! I tried me bestest.

I ordered some stuff from Wilko on the net, hopefully the last I’ll need. Spent another fortune. I paid for a Premier delivery not knowing what this was. When I got the email confirming the order, but didn’t know still when the order would be delivered as it said: Premier delivery the next working day! Was the next working day a Saturday or Monday? Bad news if it’s a Monday cause I’ve got two medical appointment then. oh dear!

02

Moments before it all collapsed! Tsk!

Steve from Age UK arrived. He tackled the problem with the delivery an sent then an email.

The told me the house was now all cleared. Told me next week he will talk to the building society about getting the house on the market.

Still going at a snail’s pace to me – but he thought we’d done well getting this far? Nice chap, good bloke Steve really.

He looked at the temporary curtaining I’d put up – and it collapsed! Ah well, it gave him a laugh. Hehe! He then good-naturedly let me take his photo and posed for it like King Neptune!

He also took some photo’s of me that I could doctor and use later on the web bless his cotton socks.

He then had a look at and worked how me Hoover works for me. At last I can use it! Hooray!

After Steve had left – I got an email from Wilko – All it did as confirm they had received it and it would be studied and read with 72 hours! Gordon Bennett I still don’t know when the delivery is coming now! Shit!

He also looked at the TV remote to work out why I kept getting blank screens and the set jumps into different modes – he gave up as well, just like I did.

IMG_0001Got me nosh made for later – and further Whoopsiedangleplops on the Wilko order developed…

A lady rang to tell me they were delivering on Monday – I struggled to get all she as saying at first but I asked her to speak slower and it all then okay. She changed the delivery day to Tuesday between 0800 > 1800hrs. I explained about the need for them to press 72 on the panel in the reception for me to let them in, and using the lift to the 12th floor… where she stopped me to check on the insurance for the deliver couriers and see if they can come up 12 floors? Good this innit? Keep up… Then she returned to tell me it is up to the couriers if he delivers up the lift or not – if I come down to meet him, he can tell me if he’s prepared to go up the lift or not!!!!

01topj5

So, after doing the order, and 30 minutes on the phone with the nice lady, my effort to spend £100 plus £8 delivery charge with Wilko, it seems I have to wait 4 days to find out if I’m actually going to get the delivery or not… Amazing!

I will not either way be tempted to spend any-more with them I can assure you! That’s if I manage to this time of course!

Pissed off nicely I had me nosh and felt rather down.

Huh & Tsk!

Inchcock Today Thu 8 Oct 15: Cleaning and polishing, Dizzies and drained

Thursday 8th October 2015

Up at 0605hrs, late getting off last night, well, this morning.

WC’d then made a cuppa, laptop on, medications taken – ‘Little Inchy’ bleeding.

Made list of things to try to get help with from Steve from Age UK when he calls.

Emailed appointment to the doctors for next Monday at 1020hrs for me INR Warfarin blood level test.

That reminded me, I must not forget me Memory Test tomorrow at noon… oh dear…

PatMCringGraphic finished for the TFZ site. hope they like it.

It’s me and Pat Melsted-Chabot wiv some animals in toe. The pussy cat in it was who Pat lost when he disappeared. I thought it a nice tribute to put her in it. As I say, I hope she likes it and is not upset.

Checked emails incoming.

Made another cuppa, WC visit again and a feeling of semi dizziness lingered, no actual bad attacks like yesterday yet, a sense of partial mistiness… Not a good description that, light headedness perhaps?

P1020238Laptop off and got the thing ready to clean the bathroom.

Nasty open pipework that flakes and seems to gather dust at the back were a sod to get cleaned. I must, soon as the old place is sold get someone to do something about this. Panelling or summat that is easy to clean and P1020239remove?

The big job tackled next – the kitchen.

Started with doing the windows. Devils own job as usual trying to get the damned window to turn around so I could clean the outside from inside if yer know worra mean like?

P1020240I got it turned eventually.

But that bugger of a switch mechanism on the right twixt the window and the alcove that allows only two inches of space for you to grab twist and hold it out damaged/squashed me thumb again. Tsk!

P1020243Used Dettol cleaner and window cleaner afterwards and managed to get it looking a bit better outside, still got the odd streak or two.

Turned it back closed and did the little window at the bottom then the main one and the paintwork.

P1020244Then, Arthur Itis started playing me up Huh!

The chips in the glass outside still annoying me though.

Set about doing the floor in the old-fashioned style – on me knees with a bowl of soapy water and rinsing and P1020245drying it off with kitchen towels in little patches as I moved backwards.

Getting up on me feet again afterwards was a bit of a painful kerfuffle I can tell yer. Huh!

Did the sink/draining board, cabinets, fridge, counters, cooker and paintwork after the floor had dried – not too bad a job compared to last time I did it.

Had a  cuppa and took me midday medications then forced missen to get the bag ready for the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop.

I rang Steve from Age UK, but no answer.

It was heavy, and I needed to take another bag with me brolly, bird seed, nibbles etc with me.

P1020248Set off on a walk through Woodthorpe Park down into Sherwood. On the path down t Mansfield Road I spied two ladies with their dogs having a walk, and boy were those dogs having a ball. It made me wish I could have a dog and especially one like these two, so happy and tail-wagging at turbo speed. Bless em.

Down to the Hospice charity shop and handed them the donations. I bought a book while I was there, another J Clarkson one. Much as he annoys me at time I like his writing, crude, witty and bold. Another £3 spent I need not have… Tsk!

Back up to the Co-op store to spend £10 so I could use me £1.50 off voucher. Got amongst other bits some Cornish Clotted Cream raspberry ripple ice-cream. There seems to be no end to my spending recklessly! Got some salad stuff for nosh tonight.

To the bus-stop cause an L9 bus was due and I had me free pensioners bus-pass with me and was feeling a bit worn now after all that cleaning and walking.

I met the gal tenant from number 82 on the same floor as me at the shelter.

Had a good natter and gave her some nibbles. Caught the bus with her back to the flats.

Invited her in and gave her a tin of chocolates for her finding me hearing-aid and always talking to me when she met me.

01topj3Steve Age UK rang, he’s on his way to collect the dosh to pay the house clearers, he’ll be here in half an hour or so.

Laptop on and caught up with this diary.

Got me notes for Steve and the money ready for him.

It started to look a bit dark and rain threatening, and it had definitely had got colder than it was earlier.

P1020249Took a photo from the kitchen window of the threatening sky. The clean kitchen window I might add! Haha!

Fatigued now.

I sat and the last bits of any energy drained away.

Hey-ho…

Inchcock Today Wed 7 Oct 15: Wet in more than one way today…

Wednesday 7th October 2015

Up at 0405hrs, WC. Not feeling too bright this morning.

Haemmorhoids bleeding badly, dizzies early, Little Inchy sore and bleeding. Anne Gyna giving me a bit of grief.

On the brighter side the Reflux valve is a lot easier, and Arthur Itis not too bad at all in the legs or feet and only some twinging and stiffening in me hands as yet.

Recalled bits of a dream: Ladies in a big room, lots of ladies, all ignoring me as I ran around sticking labels with ‘Best before’ dates on the arms? I found myself in an office filled with purple coloured furniture, curtains and wallpaper, I knew this despite the dream being in mono? I was laying out desks and chairs and putting a pencil, spoon and an aubergine on each desk…

Made a cuppa and took me medications.

Got me togs ready for the laundering session and went down to the laundry room. Met a Scottish lady from the first floor and had a chin-wag when he came in to start her laundering session.

P1020226Got the washer going and back to the flat. Had a cuppa and started this diary, then back down to take the washing from the machine to the drier.

Met the Scottish gal again.

Got the drier going and then back to the flat again.

Updated this again. Then back down to collect me washing from the dryer.

P1020227Brought the washing back up and ensconced it snugly in the airing-cupboard.

Made a cuppa.

Updated this diary, then finished off yesterdays diary and got it posted off to the web.

P1020225Morrison’s came and went, put the stuff away then got ready to go out to an Aldi store, to see if they have any Frikadellens on sale for me to try, so I can compare them to the Lidl ones I had for nosh last night.

I really did enjoy them – and a write up about them on the web says how healthy they are compared to burgers and sausages too!

Called at the hut on the way out, no one there so left some nibbles for them.

01topj3Caught the L9 bus, after an entertaining gossip with some of the other residents of the Stalag… no flats.

Took a photo for the bus window as we turned into and down Gordon Hill.

Got into town and I walked in the drizzling rain to the Aldi store. They had some Frikadellens in, but they were smaller and lighter than the Lidl ones, so I didn’t get any.

01topj4Walked over the road and through the Victoria Centre.

The rain coming heavier now and the wind got up.

Hobbled down into the slab-square in the City Centre.

01topj6There were some stalls there again, but with the rain they belting down not many people were inclined to stop and buy owt!

I popped into Primark and bought yet another cap, another waxed one and put it on in an effort to avoid getting too wet on me way home.

01topj5Made me way passed the Chilwell and Beeston bus stops to Queen Street and waited for the L9 bus to get me back to the flats and out of the rain and wind.

Had a dizzy-spell at the bus-stop. Must remember I thought, to take me BP when I get back home. (Nice work that, home).

01topj7 Took a photo from me seat on the bus, of all the buses surrounding the bus… Hehe!

No signs of falling asleep on the journey back to the Woodthorpe flats either today!

Rare that recently!

Got in the door and made hurriedly for the porcelain.

Did some spontaneous sorting out on the clothes racks, but got it all wrong and gave up when another dizzy-spell appeared.

That reminded me to take me reading so  did:

01topj9cSys: 88 Dia: 64 Pulse 74: Temp: 31°. I’ll ask the nurse when I go on Friday if these look okay, I forgot to ask her to look at me readings last time I went. Well fancy that Tsk!

The rain was still persisting down.

Decided to get me nosh early in case the dizzies persisted.

P1020236Had the easiest to make, but some Rosti potatoes in’t oven to have with some bread, made two sweet loin sandwiches and some beetroots, followed by a pot of mandarin yoghurt.

Laptop on updating while the Rostis warmed through.

Got the mobile in me hand to call Steve from Age UK and he called me!

He’s calling for the £840 for the house clearance man tomorrow – that is providing he had got it done by then – so with luck, once I pay-up we can start getting the house on the market. Good job I had professional help from Steve in getting somewhere to live and the old place on the market – it’s only took him 4 months to get this far. Tsk! (Now now Gerry, no bitterness please! Hehe!)

Made sure the money was still there and I’d not forgotten where I put it like.

Not feeling very bright again now.

Had me nosh, Rated it another 9/10, and fell asleep.

P1020237Woke an hour or so later and ran a bath, which I enjoyed apart from clouting me ankle when I was getting out.

Then made a cuppa and took me medications and updated this twaddle.

Nice view from the kitchen window tonight.

TTFN all.
