So much for taking their word they would call to see me!
Wednesday 1st October
Woke up around 0400hrs, cramps gone, but leaving aching bones. (Even typing is a tad painful)
Remembered I’d got the ‘Meals at Home’ person calling today, so I have to remain in all day so as not to miss he/her/them.
WC.
Tackled the Inch with the Clotromozole cream while it was still proud, less bleeding this morning, that was good.
Got downstairs and laptop started, made a cuppa and took medications.
Checked on Facebook and replied to some nice comments. Updated the diary. Then started on a graphic for TFZ.
WC.
WC.
Managed to get two posts and some graphic done.
13hrs of expecting the Nottingham City Council Meals at Home to arrive – I am a fool or what?
1450hrs: Making myself poorly with holding in me urge to go to the toilet in case I miss the ‘Meals at Home’ person/s who are supposed to be calling today. Determined not to miss them/him/her and give em a reason not to serve me.
Bit frustrating this waiting and not knowing lark.
1510hrs: Still waiting…
WC.
152ohrs: Still waiting…
WC.
1555hrs: Still waiting…
1615hrs: Still waiting…
WC. Had to relieve myself at the sink. I have gone through two rolls of kitchen towels, a bottle of bleach and a bottle of disinfectant!
1700hrs: Still waiting…
Called them on the mobile – No answer!
Wonder if I have a valid claim against them?
Bladder bad now.
1712hrs: Still waiting…
1730hrs: No signs of em yet!
1755hrs: No signs of em yet!
1808hrs: No signs of em yet!
To tired to wait any more now.
I’ll just have to call at the Council Contact point tomorrow. Huh!
Following a bad night, dreams, waking ups and pain in the chest – I attended the WC around about 0430hrs to find; Blood and tender swelling from the Inch, blood from the haemorrhoids and new blood welt spots on my hands.
I must get to see the GP again.
I should get me letter with details of the Nottingham Meals at Home system today.
o535hrs: I cleaned myself up and came downstairs, wearily I might add, Put the medical stuff in a bag, took it out to the dustbin and moved it ready for collection.
Started laptop and put the kettle on.
WC both ends attended to.
Came down gingerly and made cuppa, then waited for the laptop to finish loading to update this diary.
Medications taken with me cuppa tea, then I sorted out the things for the Nottingham Hospice Shop.
Titivated meself, managing to end up with a shaving cut under each eye, then got ready and set off on me walk into Sherwood to the Hospice shop.
Bit of traffic about today.
The left knee being so bad might not be such a bad thing yer know; because it takes away yer concentration on the pain from the right knee?
I dropped off the things at the shop and crossed the road to catch a bus to Mansfield. When it arrived, it was nearly full and I had to sit on one of the pull-down seats. I spent the whole journey hanging on for dear life… hehehe!
I arrived at Mansfield bus station and poddled down to investigate B&M and Pound Stretcher shops for any bargains they might have on offer. Got some cheapo little tins of ham and some nice looking honeyed ham slices from B&M, then got some biscuits from the Stretcher shop.
Took a walk through the shopping centre, and boy was there some mobility scooters about or what! Still, I have to say, although nervous of ‘em, none actually attacked or blitzkrieged me.
I came out the other end, and waddled me way down to open market for a while… this is where I noticed the fine array of mobility scooters on sale.
I ambled my way back up to the bus station, and caught the bus back to Nottingham, dropping off at Carrington. I walked past the car I often looked at as I did so, a Bedford CA van… it’s burnt out now, and the wheels have gone?
Tried to take a photo of it, but the camera would not work, it just took blank shots? Oh ‘eck. Summat else dying? Tsk!
Got into the flea-pit, well tired again and made a cuppa, some ham sandwiches and took me evening medications – then head down and hopefully some decent sleep.
All through the night the porcelain was visited for both activations, bit worrying that.
Bit of blood from the ‘Inch’.
Down and started laptop, kettle on, did the pots, back up to the WC.
I am feeling nervous for some reason this morning, left knee giving gip again.
Updated this diary, then spent 4 hours finishing graphics for the ‘Inchy causes Nottingham Job Centre Disruption – by smiling’ post and posted it. Reacting to four calls to the porcelain during its creation.
Went (slowly) up the stairs, and did me ablutions…
At this point, I was weary of stubbing me toes like wot I‘ve been doing recently. Shame I hit me head of the cupboard door.
Everything assembled (I hope) I set off on me limp into Sherwood, to the Nottingham Hospice Charity Shop first.
Then I caught the bus into town. Called into Tesco and got a Cornish pasty and some bread for the ducks in Derby.
Then caught bus into Derby. Had a walk along the Riverside, fed the ducks and dicky-birds.
Suddenly feeling drained again, I caught the bus back into Nottingham. Took the scenic routed bus.
A few lurking in Derby
Once the bus got into Beeston, it slowed to a crawl due to the Tram works, which let me have a good read of me book, and nibble me nosh.
In town, the place seemed busy, but I could not see any mobility scooters; skateboarders and cyclist on the pavements yes.
Walked up passing Brain Clough’s statue, where some yobs were fighting with each other, no signs of the constabulary about.
Caught bus back to Carrington, limped back to the flea-pit, just made the WC in time again.
Down at 0505hrs. Laptop went through same procedure as yesterday; When it was supposed to have been loaded fully, a blank white screen. I cried a bit. Then ran the mouse over the screen, and as I did, the stuff came back on as I ran it over where the icons should be?
I fear I’m going to lose everything soon.
I must remember to put the camera batteries on charge.
Made a cuppa and took medications.
I wrote down some notes for an idea I had for a humorous post – but was not so sure it would work. I’ll take another gander after I get back from the launderette this morning.
Did me ablutions, and set off with me bag of washing. (With me knees twinging rather persistently).
Bought a very interesting ‘Nottingham Bygones’ paper to read on the way. There was many articles worthy of a good read in it.
The big Polish gal was on duty at the launderette, I can’t pronounce her name, so I’ve Christened her Bertha.
Big John arrived to do his laundry. Had a good natter about his holiday in Cornwall.
I departed with me now clean laundry back to the flea-pit.
WC.
Laptop started, kettle on, up and put the togs away, WC again, came down and made a cuppa, took me midday medications… then the laptop had loaded itself at last.
Had a look at the notes wot I made earlier about a post idea, and decided to work on it, then create some graphics to support it.
Wednesday 24th September 2014
WC visits more regular overnight, and have continued this morning.
Inch bleeding again. Tended to, sorry I forgot to mention this to Dr Vindla yesterday now.
Left ear-hole blocked, I must have slept a bit on it. Dropped some olive oil in both lug-holes as usual and pain-gel applied to knees and hands.
Down at 0525hrs. Took rubbish out to bins, checking for any yobs about first.
Laptop on, and made cuppa and porridge with added honey. (By gum I live well!) Took me morning medications.
WC.
Updated this diary.
Received my Anticoagulation Therapy Record dosage from the hospital.
Apparently my target is NRI 3.5 but I’ve never got that yet. I’m on 5.0 this time. So that explains why I’ve been feeling so cold lately? Or does it? I think the higher the IHR is, the thinner the blood is.
Better try not to cut myself! I might bleed to death, but at least I shouldn’t get a blood clot taking me out. Hehehe, you’ve got to laugh yer know.
Remembered to take me card today
I must get me things ready to take to the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop later. I’ll do it now; back in a bit…
I’m back… oh dear, WC beckons, I’m off again…
Must get myself beautified for me walk, and hope it isn’t too painful today.
0840hrs: Back later folks…
1205hrs: I’m back, and it was painful; but not too bad it would stop me hobbling about today.
Walked into Sherwood and dropped me stuff off at the Nottingham Hospice Charity Shop. I asked the lay there if she knew where I could get a “Reacher/picker” from. She told me to try the Mobility Scooter shop about half a mile up the road. So I did.
As I approached the shop, I was nervous in case any of the deadly mobility scooter drivers appeared out of nowhere… as they do tend to do to me yer know.
None about so I went in. They only had short ones in, so I got one for £10.
Walked back into Sherwood and caught a bus to town.
Limped to the second hand music shop to see if he had managed to get me Acker Bilk’s ‘Gotta see mama tonight’, but he hadn’t.
Walked down through the arcade and went into the Library Contact point and asked them if they knew where I could get details of the Meals at home service. A very nice lady called them for me, and handed me the phone. They are going to send me details through the post.
I wondered through the Slab Square, where I noted, that they had now got G4 security doing the mobile cameras.
I saw two people of the many people sat around the square, were not using a mobile or ipod thingamajig.
Took a picture of the Council house.
Hobbled up and through Victoria, and came out the other end and went into PC World/Curry’s to have a look at their portable DVD players, but they have stopped selling them?
Took an extra painkiller with me midday medications, cause the left knee had started to get worse again.
Staggered to the bus stop and caught bus back to Carrington.
Called in the local Co-op to get some of their special prices Warburton Thins, but the queue was so long, I decided not to bother.
I painfully limped the last leg of the journey home.
Got in, and rushed to the WC. (Just in time) Unfortunately in the rush, I banged me knee on the side of the bath… I believe I said something like; “Well fancy that!”
Up at 0430hrs. No kip much last night, I’m getting irritable now. And that’s not a good idea when you live alone, cause it’s only yourself you can take it out on.
Gawd I hate missen!
Between WC visits I got the laptop going, made a cuppa and took me medications.
Still no luck with getting colour graphics to me posts.
I tried the site that Ratty advised me to, but couldn’t work out how to get me graphic onto it, let alone save em. Thick? Me?…
Got me laundry ready and set off. As I was hobbling along, Arthur Itis stabbed me up me left knee – the worst single pain ever shot through me limbs, and I said: “Well fancy that!” Not exactly but…
Got me laundry done, but I wasn’t in good spirits.
Came back to the flea-pit, and tried again at sorting out what was wrong with me laptop or Coreldraw9 package, waste of me time that was.
Updated me Lochmaben post for the Inchcock site. Mononchrome graphics of cause. But I did a decent one of me at the van with me tackle. (Fishing tackle I might add!)
Decided around 1315hrs, I’d get some more stuff ready for the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop, and take a hobble to Sherwood with it. I just hope the left knee ain’t too painful, if it is still, I’ll have to go see the GP in the morning… well, go get an appointment.
That is if I remember.
Yobs lurking about outside as I left the hovel.
Hobbled with Arthur Itis in my left knee rampant, up to Sherwood’s Nottingham Hospice shop with the bits for them.
Crossed the road and caught bus into Arnold.
I managed to get the last pack of cheapo microwave sausages in Fulton’s foods, then waddled into Iceland and got some lollies.
Managed to avoid yet another mobility scooter seemingly, driven by a drugged or drunk driver as it forced its way through the fleeing pedestrians.
Limped to the bus stop and caught bus back to Carrington. I intended when I got off the bus, to call at the GP surgery to book an appointment, but I stopped to empty me bag of some rubbish into a roadside bin, as I was doing so a car ran into the back of a parked van. The van driver sitting behind his wheel banged his head on it, no air-bag? Anyway, I called the emergency services and went to see if he was alright.
He was fine, but I think he would have liked to have beheaded the driver of the Mistubishi that hit him. Gave details to the police when they arrived, then hobbled home, well tired again.
Not up to doing owt when I got in, so got me head down to try and get some sleep.
A few springing awakes, in response to bodily calls for the WC overnight. I forced missen up at 0445hrs. Blood all over me lower regions again, I wus a bit concerned for a while, but it stopped after a little attention.
WC.
Made cuppa, took medications.
WC.
I spent so long trying to sort out me Coreldraw problem, again without the slightest hint of any success. It’s all beyond me yer know.
Monday 15th September 2014
Not so good this morning, angina very bad and dizzy spells rampant, may have to go see the GP methinks.
I was up at 0505hrs after another night of nightmares and WC visits. Juan is getting fed up with this now.
Hard to concentrate this morning.
Now the guts have started rumbling again. Tsk!
WC.
Cuppa, WC and laptop started. Had another go at trying to find out what was the matter with Coreldraw9, but not knowing what I was doing didn’t help at all.
Beautified myself as best I could, washed, teggies, shaved, clean togs etc, and got things ready for my hospital visit for Warfarin level tests.
I set off to take some things to the Nottingham Hospice Charity Shop, (DVDs togs and cutlery).
Got as far as the end of the street, then returned to put me hearing aids in.
Set off again… then returned to the hovel to retrieve the bag of stuff for the Hospice that I’d left when I returned to put me hearing aids in… Tsk again!
Hobbled into Sherwood to the Hospice shop, (Bit of traffic about this morning) then caught bus into town and went into the pound shop for a gander.
Got some desserts to add to the things for the nurses treats at the Queens Medical Centre Haematology dep’t. I like to treat em and make em smile yer know.
When I came out of the Pound Shop, I came across a Greek chap selling fish and chips from his van, and a Mobility Scooter driver, who had left his scooter in the middle of the avenue, and was busy stood there digesting his nosh, while others had to walk around his deadly scooter, and cars had to wait until he’d finished his nosh. Amazing really innit?
I caught bus out to the QMC, and saw a sports car that had left the road and ran into a wall. Emergency services were there.
Dropped off the bus, and wandered up to the entrance – to find that yet again the fire alarm had activated, and a mass of bodies: ambulance team members, patients who had nipped out for a fag in the No Smoking Area, out-patients, visitors and, judging by how many shoulder-charged me as they belted passed me when we were allowed to enter, Olympic sprinters and rugby players!
I hid in a corner and let em get through, then hobbled in and got me ticket. All done in five minute of entering the dept, I limped to the bus stop and caught a bus to Bulwell – in the hope of getting some more Microwave sausages and any other cheapo offers. But, there were neither available.
A mobility scooter personage drove passed a stall and knocked some stuff off the display – he never paused at all, just drove on to scare someone else…
But at least none of the deadly mobility scooter drivers got me today.
I might regret saying that later…
Back to the bus station, and caught bus back to the hovel.
When I got in and settled, the yobs appeared on the street… so I went upstairs and got me head down early.
Late night for me last night – didn’t wake up until 0630hrs, feeling groggy and shaky.
Had a good rinse, dried off and sprayed my manlyless flabby body with Fly-spray by mistake for Antiperspirant.
This is not the first time that I have done something like this… proof I suppose, that an Inchock never learns!
More worry followed: The laptop took a good 12 minutes to load from booting… oh dear; soon I may disappear from the ether I fear.
Angina bad today, bad as it’s ever been really.
This totally knocks me concentration off course, and I decided it was best not to go out today. Then I changed me mind.
I had a walk/limp into Sherwood and took some stuff to the Nottingham Hospice charity shop.
Called in Wilko and got a 4litre weedkiller. How I was stupid enough to buy it then, knowing I’d have to carry it around with me on me walk I don’t know – but I regretted it later.
Caught the bus into town. Then caught but out to Lidl on Ilkeston Road, to see if they had any of the onions in that me Sister Jane wanted, and Lidl in Carrington had ran out of. But no.
Foolishly, I decided to walk all the way home. (Brave Fool!)
Got to where the Aldi shop was, and called in to see if they had the onions in. No.
I noticed how many folk walk along the centre of the roads nowadays, and cyclist ride on the pavements?
Hobbled on (Feet and knees bad now – Tut!) and called in Asian supermarket for a look around. Got some bits, just to add to the weight I was already struggling to carry in me bags like. (Twit!)
Last stretch into Carrington was agony – everything seemed to start then. Angina off again, knees and feet painful, piles performing, stomach ulcer even joined in giving me gip then. (Tsk!)
Got in and collapsed metaphorically speaking.
Saturday 30th August 2014
Up at 0500hrs – knackered and in pain again.
Had to sort out me Inch that had been bleeding in the night.
Not happy at all, depression crept in a bit. (Tut)
Did nowt but feel sorry fer missen, getting me blogs ready, reading me book, watching DVD, and visiting the WC.
Sunday 31st August 2014
Hell of a job to get up this morning, the back wasn’t too interested in letting me. Had to sort bleeding out agen. (Tsk!)
Feeling so low once more.
Managed to get up, and realised then that I’d missed me evening medications when I found the full pot… what a clot! (The poetry comes free folks – hehehe)
By the time I’d got the laptop going, a cuppa and me porridge ready, the angina returned and was giving me some gip too. I even had a dizzy spell, but that might be due to me missing last night’s meds?
Struggling to get me posts formulated, making silly errors, hope I can spot em before posting.
Tired today.
* Sorry this ain’t as funny as usual folks, when I feel a bit better, I’ll be back to form. TTFN
My mate big John rang, to see if I wanted to go to the Steaming display at Wollaton today. “Yes please” I responded. “Be ready for one o’clock he says.
BJ and his better half picked me up at 1400hrs, and off we drove to the Steaming Fair.
It were grand there, I really enjoyed it speaking to real people with a similar interest in steam and old transport.
Bought a book of old trolleybus’s while I was there, I love em.
They ran me back to the hovel, I thanked them and reminded BJ to bring his memory stick to the launderette Tuesday, so I could put piccies onto it. Off they went.
