Inchcock Today – Mon 11 Mar 2019: Bad start, fair middle, sad end for today. Ah, well, Nemo Mortalium Omnibus Horis Sapit, as they say.

Swedish: Måndag 11 mars 2019

00:05hrs. I woke, in what I can only describe as with a stinking attitude and demeanour. It had to be said! It was as if someone else was controlling my thoughts. And those were a mixed bag of fears and apprehensiveness, littered with feelings of sybylline foreboding.  Naturally, I hoped these sensations would go away. Which they did later.

I lay there pondering on the quotidian tasks that are ahead. The thoughts flowed into my poor brain: Blood test at 09:00hrs. I’ll have to leave flat by 08:00hrs to walk to surgery in time. Must get the ablutions and medications started at 07:00hrs. Don’t forget to check with Kamp Kommander Warden Deana later, to see if any message about the leg ulcer treatment appointment has arrived. Remember to ask the doctors for a sample tube. How will Brexit affect us all? Must get some bread from Aldi, later. Why are both of my legs hanging over the arm of the £300 second-hand recliner with no jammies on?

The legs needed my concentration and determination to get down off of the chair. I was fortunate in that Arthur Itis was not active. Although the odd, warped swellings underneath the patella were a smidge painful. The legs looked particularly ashen. At least they looked a lot more balanced colourwise, and the fluids had gone down a great deal. Overall, things went better than I could have hoped for. Which was worrying, me having something go well – it’s not natural you know! Hahaha!

Off to the wet room. Decent evacuation, only a smidge of bleeding from the rear, and Little Inchies Fungal Lesion as well. Can this good news continue?

Got the Health Checks done, and got on the computer to create the Excel record for last week and today.

Got the Sunday diary updated and finished, then sent off to WordPress.

Went to make a brew, an discovered that the fridge-freezer had developed a concerning noise. A sort of faint cough (Splutt), followed immediately by a dull clunk-clunk! It reminded me of a similar sound that the hot-water-geyser gave out in the flat I was living in around 1966. The one I got thrown out of, due to the amorous attentions of the landladies daughter. Humph!

Had some cornflakes for brekkers, that last of them. Must get some more when I go out.

Visited the WP Reader section, and made a Willmott Dixon album on my Pinterest page.

Sorted the paperwork, nibbles and accoutrements needed for the blood test.

Then got the ablutions tended to. Too early to use the waste chute when I left. But I did take down a white bag of recyclables and put it near the caretaker’s door. Walked along Chestnut Way to the end and stopped, turning back to take this picture of the Windwood Heights complex. The weather was looking a bit gloomy, a nip in the air, too.

But, I was feeling so good at getting out and about after such a long time. I got a move on to keep off the cold, faster than I should have really, cause Back-Pain-Brenda kicked off before I got to the bottom of Winchester Street. Tsk!

A git of a Nottinghamian Pavement Cyclist belted by me from behind and brushed against my shoulder. I shouted something derogatory to the anti-social scum-bag, but he wouldn’t have heard me, he was going that fast. May his testicles slowly rot in revenge!

By the time I got near the top of the hill, the traffic was beginning to build up.

The sun was coming out and going in a bit often. Not that it had much heat to it, but it looked nice.

It dawned on me, how well I was doing with the ailments at this time. Only Back-Pain-Brenda was bothering me. Good, this is!

As I went down the other side of the hill into Carrington, I spotted some beautiful flowers on a bush in a garden. No idea what they are called, but they were very appealling to the eye. It made me wonder at nature, and fear for the future of my fellow tellurians.

A few hundred yards from the surgery, I came across this piece of Nottinghamian Street Art.

It looked like the artist had used a broken breeze block, and some paint and shredded paper to get his desired result. Well, it beats that Tate Gallery display of a pile of bricks claiming to me art! By the American (claimed artist) Carl Andre. Huh!

“Seldom has the subject of masonry ignited such passion. Yet the explosion of interest that surrounded the Tate Gallery’s exhibition of US artist Carl Andre’s Equivalent VIII, better known as The Bricks, triggered a national debate. Purchased by the Tate for £2,297 in 1972 and exhibited!”

I got in the surgery and logged on with the receptionist, sat down and got out the crossword book to do while waiting for my 0900hr appointment with the nurse. After a long time struggling with the puzzles, it dawned on me how late it was, 0920hrs. I continued to fail to get any more clues solved for a while; until I heard the most welcoming voice of Nurse Nichole calling me.

Instantly cheered, I followed her to the treatment room. It is lovely to have someone who is so lovely and shows an interest outwardly in her patients. We chatted while she took the blood. I handed some nibbles to Nurse Nichole and went to drop some off for the reception team on my way out. I found Nurse Ann there, so gave her a pouch of dog treats for her beloved lady dog.

Out and walked to the Lidl store to get some bread. Noticing how much colder it felt now, than on the walk to the surgery. Brr!

Shopped and I got to the self-serve checkout, with part-baked bread rolls, a small sourdough boule loaf, onions, vine tomatoes, and some Strawberries to treat Obergruppenführeress Kamp Commandant and Opera Singer Deana to, for her help with the appointment ringing to sort out for me. This activity, was watched over by a Lidl employee who never took his eyes off of me? Hehe!

Out to the bus stop to get to Sherwood, and I swear it was even colder out now.

I spotted the advertisement at the end of the bus shelter. CV-Library, I registered with them many donkeys of years ago when I was made redundant at Sawley Security. I never heard from them again. This notice bought on a few minutes of reliving sad memories, as I stood to wait for the bus. But the daydreaming didn’t last long, thanks to a lady who trod on my corn foot as she entered the shelter. The sky with its fast-moving clouds looked beautiful.

I got to Sherwood and called in Abdul’s shop to get shortchanged, overcharged or both. I got Highland Shorties, two packets of whiskey bbq crisps for the nibble box, and a bag of licorice allsorts for myself. Inexplicably, I also bought a large loaf of the Polish sliced sourdough bread – why, after just purchasing the boule at Lidl, beats me! Abdul overcharged full price for the crisps that were on offer. Nothing unusual there then, apart from my not noticing until it was too late! Klutz!

Crossed over the pelican-lights and walked around the two rough-looking young beggars sat outside the shops with their dogs, fags and mobile phones, and got into the Wilko store. I came out with some liquid-soap flakes and fragrance booster. Walked the long circular way back, avoiding the young scroungers again, and up the road to the bus stop to catch the L9 back to the flats. I was surprised by the many young ladies who stopped to talk to and donate money to the lads. My EQ tells me they were are dodgy. Not that I feel superior to, or hate them in any way, just suspicious, thanks to my usually right EQ!

I had a chinwag with the resident at the shelter. Lamenting the cutting of the bus service mostly, but expecting the petition will have no effect on the Nottingham City Councils decision, and will go ahead anyway. The Tory Party ensuing their Fiscal Austerity policy, while cocking up Brexit for ulterior motives, will ensure that older folk and immigrants have no protection. Just look at the Conservative-controlled Kensington and Chelsea Council, and their actions and decisions in ignoring warnings from tenants, fire brigade and safety regulations, financial cutbacks, etc. allowed, almost encouraged the Grenfell Tower disaster.

We arrived at our Winwood Heights (soon be almost busless) Complex. I called in the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Generaloberstesses Wardens Temporary HQ. WC, Holding cells. Rumourmongering Clinic. Sarcasm & Insult distribution area. Tenants Socialisationalistic Area. Telling Inchcock off Zone. Crockery and pottery to be stolen from location, and residents porta-cabin. No one was about. So I could not ask about the appointment activity for the Leg-Ulcer clinic, nor hand over the strawberries or bread.

So, out and on, back to my beloved Woodthorpe Court.

I met Mo in the foyer, and stopped for schmooze and laugh with her.

Up to the flat, had a weak wee-wee, and changed the PPs, to a clean, bloodless pair. Hehe!

The pins (legs) were filling up with fluid again, but this meant the warped knees as well, so I’ve lost the outlines of chickens and faces in them. Hee-hee!

I did the Health Checks and took the medications.

I had a go at sorting the bottom cupboard out again. But the fluid in the legs stopped this activity within minutes; the bending was just too painful.

So, I thought, I’d try to get at least one cupboard top cleared and cleaned, with I can smugly say, I did manage. (Well, emptied anyway) I can also add, ashamedly and embarrassingly, right at the end, coming down from the step ladder, I tumbled backward off of it, taking it with me. I sort of bounced off of the heater, landing luckily in the corner near the window, thus missing any sharp bits. I did lay for a moment assessing things. But at no time did I consider using the alarm wristlet. Amazingly, apart from the odd bruise, and agony from the legs and knees, I seemed in good fettle. I rose up shakily. Feeling such a clumsy old fool. A right schlimazel! The kitchen now looked worse than ever! The bottles from the bottom cupboard were scattered all over, the things from the top were mixed in the other rubbish on the floor, the step ladder looked sad as it rested over against the waste bins, and I’d knocked some stuff off of the window ledge. Ah well, must get it looking better tomorrow. Humph!

I got some potato slices in the oven. Sliced some sourdough french bread and buttered it thickly. Added some onions and sliced some tomatoes on the plate ready.

The body had various parts beginning to stiffen now after the fall. Then that well-known to me wet warm sensation started from the fungal lesion. (Obviously, the parting of the ways with the stepladder had affected things more than I had thought at first). Off to the shower room, cleaned and medicated the lesion, and adorned another pair of PPs put on.

I did the last Health Checks and got the nosh served up.

Taste Rating for this effort was a worthy 8.2/10. Flavoursome!

I got settled in the ci 1968 old recliner. But getting into a comfortable position was not easy. The aches and pains from the fall were showing up now. But, my tiredness overcame them, and I fell into a blissful, wee-wee-uninterrupted kip! Zzzz!

Inchcock Today – Sun 10 Mar 2019: Roll on Monday. Hehe!

Sunday 10th March 2019

Moari: Rātapu 10 o Maehe 2019

01:05hrs. When I woke, I found it hard to believe how long I had slept for, considering all the hours I nodded off for yesterday. At least I was in a slightly better mood with myself this morning. The self-depreciation had eased off a bit, and I thought today might bring forth a better frame of mind and less anguish. My thoughts were still Farmisht, but for some reason, I was living with them more comfortably? Probably, most likely, due to my defeatist relinquishing and renouncing of any hopes of improvement in my sepulchral, bleak existence.

I fear that the Grumps, Kvetching and Curmudgeoning modes will take-over later, from my usual acceptingly-placid, go-with-the-flow style. My EQ tells me this. But I pray it is wrong for once.

After my few minutes mournful, morning-musings, I extracted my most abdominous, overheavy, bloated legs and stomached body from the second-hand, £300, ci 1968 rickety recliner, and gained a semi-perpendicular stance. I’m glad to report that the nocturnal-activities had not involved any nibbling or dropping, scattering items on the carpet for me to tread on this time.

Over to the EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee Bucket). The release was just a trickle, and the bucket had not been used overnight. I thought I’d be able to safely empty and clean it and then store it away now.

Especially after I checked the legs. The gnarling of the knees had lessened, they were both of the sameish colour, though they had moved positions again. Ha-ha!

I thought I could see an outline of a chicken on one of the knees after taking this photo, The right one as you look at the picture) I can’t find it now. Tsk!

Cleaned and stored the EGPWWB handily in the kitchen, in plain unobstructed view, just in case.

Got the hemadynamometer and thermometer out, to carry out the Health Checks. But was side-tracked by the call to the Porcelain Throne.

I was caught out with the amount of bleeding from Hammorhoid Harold. The evacuation went well, and I read a page or two of the Victoria Wood biography. I cleansed and applied some Germoloid Cream, gently. Hehe! Put some new PPs on, and wrapped the used ones in the bag supplied.

Back to the Health Checks. Again I was surprised, at the readings all round really. Sys up, Dia down, and pulse up! I wish I could fathom out why this is.

I made a brew of the deliciously-strong Glenghettie Assam tea and swallowed the medications, tablets, capsules, and medicines. No injections this morning, and no Furesomide needed (I hope).

On to the computer, to update the Saturday post. This lasted for only a few minutes, and a second-demand for the Porcelain Throne interjected. A bit soon after the first one?

As I stood up to make my way to the wet room, I knew from the wet-warm sensations from the front and back of the PPs, I was in trouble! And I was right, I’m afraid. The evacuation itself was fine, but Haemorrhoid Harold’s and Little Inchies fungal lesion had been ensanguining worse than I can remember for a long time. There followed a marathon, painful and worrying ten-minutes or more, of cleaning and medicationalisationing to the tender areas included applying; Dakacort nitrate hydrocortisone and Allantoin, Lidocaine Hydrochloride. (All right, blood stopper and pile cream, Hehehe!). Changed the PPs again. Good job my mate Michael helps me out with these!

Back to my blogging. I got the diary finished and sent off to WordPress. During doing this, I needed only one wee-wee. That was again, a drip-drip affair. Why have things changed so quickly on the wee-weeing side? I was beginning to let myself get uptight again, with all these irregular ailments kicking off and bleeding so much, and my not understanding why.

To the kitchen to make another brew, and could see many emergency vehicle blue lights nearby. By the time I’d fetched the camera, they had all gone or been turned off. So I took these shots of the general view.

Back on the computer and made a start on this blog. Checked the Emails and a weather warning was received… Snow in Nottingham! Warning in place Between 3 am, and 11 am on Sunday 10th March. Snow Warning Nottinghamshire The Post put this picture up of the same day last year.

Dizzy Dennis and Shaking Shaun overcame me, quite suddenly. I sat down in the £300 second-hand rickety recliner and fell asleep.

Sister Jane rang, it was a terrible connection, that cut-off after a couple of minutes. Jane rang back, still a bad line, but we struggled through for a few minutes, then I lost her again.

Went to make a brew, feeling more in line with things now that the ailments have cleared.

Did the Health Checks, and suddenly felt so tired? Confusing me today. The wee-wee’s being so few and of no power, just a trickle? Dennis and Shaun, the bleeding, my feeling so weary as such a decent sleep as well? My not feeling hungry as well, all doing my confidence no benefit. But still, hey-ho, I’m still here.

I rang Jane back and although still a struggle to hear everything she commanded and lambasted me for, at least we didn’t lose the connection this time. During this telephone-chinwag, I discovered I was overeating, too much bread and must cut-it-out. The buses being cut-back will make me walk further and be good for me. And… oh, I’ve forgotten the last telling off subject… Hahaha!

I put this photo in to cheer them up and make up for my bending of Jane’s words. Hehe! A dashing looking couple!

I thought of something I can usually eat easily for the not-felt-like-eating meal. Thought I do some oven chips tomatoes and a slice or two of the small milk roll bread, I should manage to eat it if made only a few chips.

Off to the kitchen, and Oh boy, was it snowing out there. I took some photographs.

I decided I could not face anything to eat yet, so I made a brew and watched some TV instead. Naturally, I fell asleep once more. Woke up needing the Porcelain Throne. An easier evacuation this time. Washed and got the Health Checks done, then I took two more weather pictures. They stick out don’t they, the last two? I’ve put them all together here. These later ones were taken with the newer camera.

Got the nosh served up, such as it was.

Took the evening medications with the fodder.

I had planned, to make a list of the medications ready for the leg ulcer clinic, and do the ablutions to save time in the morning before I go to the blood test at the surgery.

But, I fell asleep – yet once more! This old age is a drag. Now it seems I’m licenced to fall asleep anywhere, anytime! Grumph!

Inchcock – Sat 9 Mar 2019: Fretting over things and falling asleep, were the main contents of this chin-waggleless day

Saturday 9th March 2019

Croatian: Subota, 9. ožujka 2019

00:30hrs. I woke, after suffering a silly-bonkers repeat dream night. I kept thinking I had woken up, to find I was someone and somewhere else. I can’t recall anything definite of the who and where though, which is a bit galling! I think I actually did wake up a few times in between the nightmares, but I’m a bit sceptical about this noctuary. (As I am with everything in life lately, Hehe!)

As I was getting my horrendously over-stomach-burdened blobby-body from the £300 second-hand ci 1968 recliner, I was still in a state of dwaal, and made a right mess of getting up on my feet! I got up and caught my balance okay. In fact, I felt a little pleased with the ease in which I had achieved this! (A mistake that, I soon realised!) As the first step was taken, I felt something crunch as I stood on it with my besocked right foot. I’d trodden on and broken my second favourite pen. Annoyed with myself, I unthinkingly bent down a little too quickly to pick up the pieces… had a Dizzy Dennis visit, went down on my knees with the right patella landing on top of the plastic bits, and bruising the already dodgy knee, and simultaneously cracking my elbow against the corner of the Ottoman. (I actually stayed down on the floor for a few moments, selecting expletives to use later on this diary!) Not a great abecedarian to the day! What a doddery old Schlub!

I checked out the pins (legs) and found them to be remarkably different to yesterday mornings. Friday revealed I had one white leg and one red one. (A first that one was!) Now, I had both pins looking anaemic below the warped mangled knees and red above them? (Another first!) With odd areas of a sort of a light khaki coloured patches higher up? Oy Vey!

I really ought to see if the Tate Gallery is interested in buying any of pin photographs!

Ah, The mysteries of my beloved Woodthorpe Court. That lies somewhere between the twilight zone and a wormhole slipping through a tear in the fabric of the cosmos, and the spacetime continuum, into my apartment and body! I’ve no idea what extraterrestrial or ghostly solivagant it is that has invaded my body. But he/it seems to have settled in and taken charge of the warping and colourisation of the limbs. Bit of an artistic type, perhaps? Hahaha!

I got the Health Checks done and took the medications. Although the legs have had more fluid retention before, they were rock solid. Not the knobbly-warped knees of course. I decided to try a Furesomide with the morning dosages.

I had a rare moment of deep thinking. Having missed a few Warfarin doses this last ten days or so. I decided to have an Enoxaparin injection to boost things.

Then got the sphygmomanometer going, it worked first time this morning. The pulse was up again, the temperature is continually falling, rather worryingly.

Oh, I deterged the tiny wound on the knee and removed the bit of pen plastic, and Germolened the knee-cap.

I started the Friday diary updating. I had to go for a wee-wee, but cunningly realising I had taken a Furesomide earlier, I had the EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee Bucket) in place. A SSPWW (Short-Sharp-Painful-Wee-wee) one.

Back to the computer, but only for a couple of minutes and it was back to the EGPWWB! This time for an ELDOPWW (Extra-long-Drawn-Out-Persistent-Wee-Wee).

During the next few hours, while I did the updating, I had three more ELDOPWWs and had to empty the bucket and antisepticated it again. That Furesomide certainly works!

Again, I heard a sort of plopping noise, but could not locate where it was coming from. It only lasted a few minutes. When I was going around the other rooms in this magnificent apartment (all three of them), in the kitchen I took these shots of the view I thought you might like to see.

I then had an ELDOPWW, that, and I kid you not, half-filled the EGPWWB in one go! I think I could feel the pins getting softer, (less fluid retention) already. I emptied the bucket and disinfecticated it again! Good job I haven’t got to go out today!

The tummy started feeling tight and a smidge bothersome. I didn’t fret, just put it down to the excessive wee-weeing quantity.

I finally finished the Friday blog and got is posted off.

Made a mug of Glengettie tea and started this diary. During which only two wee-wees were called for? Furesomide failing?

Had a perusal of the WP Reader section. Blimey, the left knee is giving a lot of sharp pains now, even When I’m not moving it. Oy, oy, oy!

I visited the TFZ Facebook site, and added some photographicalisations to the albums.

Then got some brekkers sorted out. I had one of the French made soft baguettes left from last nights nosh.

So I buttered it and put some meat on it and sliced tomatoes. A mug of strong-flavoured tea, A Marmite cheese lump and a bag of Marmite crisps, made for a tasty breakfast.

Very flavoursome.

I got some mushrooms and minced lamb in the crock-pot. Added a little lamb gravy granules, mint and a shot of Maggi flavouring. I left it as it turns out for about four hours on a low setting.

This is because when I sat down to change my socks, and fell asleep for four hours! Humph!

Still, I must have needed it. Or be on the verge of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Circadian Rhythm Disorder, or Narcolepsy. Maybe my old mind is just hiding my brain from the struggle, confusion, insurmountability of late-life problems, and my fading faculties?

When I stirred back into mock-life, I did the Health Checks and medication taking. Had a wee-wee.

Then I served up the lamb and mushrooms with some mashed potato and onions, added the last of the mini tomatoes. I had a couple of slices of the Milk Roll bread, and a small pot of lemon mousse.

The potatoes, mushrooms and tomatoes were fine tasting, but the lamb was a little bland! So, only a Flavour-Rating of 6/10 for this effort.

I put down the tray on the floor and began to think of all the things  I had to do the coming week… Zzzz! Again!

How much sleep is it possible to want in a day?

Inchcock – Fri 8 Mar 2019: A day, that I think I could have been forgiven for losing my marbles. Hahaha!

“Chestit Praznik” International Women’s Day

00:10hrs. I woketh, and unenthusiastically, reluctantly, got the brain functioning, then roused my weighty-wobbly body, freeing it from the ci 1968, second-hand,  soon to need replacing, rickety recliner. The pain from the left foot-sole, was far less bothersome than it has been lately. No doubt a ploy conjured up by the ailments to catch me off guard! An irritating cough (Caroline Coughing) started, that was I admit, concerning at first. But within ten minutes it had stopped?

A wee-wee, of the SWPDWW (Short-Weak-Painful-Dribbling-Wee-Wee) classification, was taken. The PP’s were ensanguined, and the blood had dried. So the lesion must have been bleeding for a good while. Nasty! I was surprised to see that the Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-wee bucket so full. I could not recall using it at all last night. To the kitchen. Washed and disinfected the EMGPWW bin. Then, do the Health Checks.

Where, when I got out the medication pots, I found that I had not taken last night dosages, again. Oy Vey! What a Shlimazel I am!

The sphygmomanometer operated the first time. With decent looking results recorded.

I put some of last nights medications (Magnesium, Warfarin and Simvastatin with this morning doses to take. (I threw away the other tablets to avoid my duplicating any of the medications).

The temperature was down a bit, but it looks like this has been the trend up to now this week.

I made a start on updating the Thursday blog. In between the odd SWPDWW.

Got it done, at last, and went on TFZ Facebooking and added some photographicalisations.

Started this post going.

05:00hrs. I was sure I could hear some popping noises, well almost sure. So I put in the hearing aids and carried on with updating. During the next ten minutes, I heard this noise a few times more. Curious, I had a look around to see if I could locate the source.

After this, I didn’t hear the noise again. Humph!

However, I did come across a letter on the floor near the door. Opening it left me spiritually poor! (No charge for the poor poetry, Hehehe!)

An appointment for the Leg Ulcer Assessment. I have to take a urine sample, a list of all medications I am on, and wear a pair of shoes, at least one size larger than usual! I assume this is in case they ere to put bandages on? But this will not be necessary, with it being so long to get the appointment, the ulcer has all but cleared up of its own accord. Isn’t old age interesting? Hehehe!

Of course, it has been four weeks now since the doctor referred me. Despite what I put on the photo, it will be six weeks since. Thursday 21st March, at 11:00hrs (So late for me, which will mean my no being able to get anything else done that day!) So, this will again mean my having to miss the Social Hour for a third week! Having to get to the Mary Potter Health Centre is disappointing, with the Sherwood Health Centre, as pointed out in the graphic map below, of the route I’ll have to take; How close the Sherwood Health Centre is to my beloved Woodthorpe Court home! (See blue arrows)

The maps assessment of how long it should take me to get there on foot (46 Minutes), is much over-optimistic. It can take me some days, that long just to get down onto Mansfield Road on a bad legs day!

Alternatives:

  • I can walk down onto Mansfield Road, and catch a but to the traffic island, then walk along about a half mile or more to the centre. There is no bus service along Gregory Boulevard at all.
  • Or, I can catch a bus to town, then a tram to the Forest, and walk far less a distance to the centre. Either way, it will kill my day with the time needed.
  • Or, I can call at the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Generaloberstesses Wardens Temporary HQ. WC, Holding cells. Rumourmongering Clinic. Sarcasm & Insult distribution area. Tenants Socialisationalistic Area. Telling Inchcock off Zone. Crockery and pottery to be stolen from location, and residents porta-cabin, this morning, hope I can catch on the Warden/Guards in, and ask them if they would be kind enough to ring the Mary Potter Health centre and see if they can alter the appointment to an earlier time and or day for me.

I’ll try the third option I think. At least if the clinic can get me in early, I can do something with the day after the visit, theoretically anyway, and then I won’t mind walking all the way at all.

Definitely a miffed-off Inchcock, now!

I decided to have some brekkers and mug of tea. Excruciatingly sadly, I used the last of the fancy tomatoes to make some bread-thin buttered sarnies. Wonderful flavour!

Then I tended to the Ablutions. Got things ready to go to see Riechsführeress and Catwalk Model Warden Deana, to beg for help with the Mary Potter farce.

Had a wee-wee and set-off out.

On my hobble to the hut, I had a mini-photographicalisationing session. I can use some of these late to create a funny graphic of two for the Willmott Dixon lads, methinks.

Got in the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Flats, Oberstgruppenführer Guards/Wardens Temporary HQ, Toilet, Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, Rumourmongering Clinic. Tenants Socialisation Shed. Telling Inchcock off Zone. Things like china and pottery to be stolen from, residents room.

I spotted a petition on the table. To request that they keep the L9 bus timetable as it is, instead of the planned making them every two hours, instead of one hour.

It’ll cause much bother and hassle if, as I expect they will, the two hourly four buses a day to town is enforced. I’ll request a move to another complex with a bus service nearby I can use I think. It’s going to be a nightmare in bad weather. And, when the legs, back, Kidney Ache Kevin, knees, Anne Gyna, Duodenal Donald, Reflux Roger, Arthur Itis, Hernia Harold, Dizzy Dennis or Shaking Shaun are active, for me to get to the hospital, surgery or the clinics. Something else to worry over. Tsk!

You might find this hard to believe. But when Warden Officer Guard Deana kindly rang the Potter centre for me, this being around 0850hrs; A message telling her, There is no one available at the moment. This Centre is open from 08:00hrs to 17:00hrs on weekdays, please call during these times! Eh, wot?

As I waited for the bus to go and get some Milk Roll Bread and search for some of the Sicilian tomatoes (Which I failed to find!). Oberschützeress Camp Commandant Deana tried a few more times to get through to the Mary Potter Clinic, without any luck. She said she’d try again later and let me know the result, bless her pink cotton jackboots.

I thanked Deana and went out to the bus stop.

I caught the Bestwood bound bus and sat next to Caroline from the Briarwood Court Home at the end of Chestnut Way. She was a little upset, and I lent an ear and did my best to try to cheer her up.

She got off at the Sainsbury store in Daybrook, and I did the same in Arnold at the Asda (Walmart) shop. Went in and had a poddle around. I got the sliced Milk Roll loaves alright, but a lot of unneeded stuff that I just fancied. And here I am trying to get rid of unwanted foods as I struggle to clean up the kitchen! I paid at the self-serve checkouts without making any cock-ups Smug-Mode-Adopted!

I got a few bunches of daffodils to hand out if I saw any of the gals, with it being International Women’s Day, you know. When I paid the gal on the news counter, she pointed out that I was trying to pay with two of the seven-pound coins being of the old type and not usable anymore! Don’t know who slipped them to me! Huh!

I came out with seven tiny pots of mandarins in jelly, two sliced Milk Roll loaves (One for May, as I think she said she liked them the other week), Soft French mini baguettes, Kit Kats for the nibble box (If I ever get to a Social Meeting again!), mushrooms, potato slices, hot dogs and some smoked bacon.

I’d missed the bus back. Most annoying! So I went for a walk around and had a look in the Fulton Foods shop to kill time. They had nothing appealing to me in stock.

Imagine what this will be like when the buses go every 2 hours! I will be in a pickle!

I made my way up to the bus stop, and Caroline arrived. We had another chinwagging on the way back. But I think we were both very weary and tired.

Back at the flats, I wished Caroline all the best and popped into the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights Flats, and Administration shed for the Generalleutnantess Wardens Temporary HQ, Willmott-Dixon workers breakfast and tea-break room, Holding cells. Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, Tenants Socialisation Shed. Rumourmongering Clinic. Telling Inchcock off Zone, Things like crockery and pottery to be stolen from, and residents shed. But nobody about. So I trotted up to the apartment block. May was sat there in the foyer. So I gave her some daffodils, and we had a jolly good laugh and chinwag. As Mo was about to leave, Deana appeared. She told me she had got in touch with someone at the Mary Potter Health Centre, but they could not alter or change any timings for us. She will ring Deana back, and she’ll let me know whats-what later. I handed her some flowers.

Up to the flat. I began to feel extremely tired now. Worn-outish!

I did the Health Checks and changed into my nightwear, and got some fodder cooking.

Put some basil in a can of tomatoes in the pan to warm up slowly and got the smoked bacon in the oven.

I’d just got the fodder on the tray, and the doorbells chimed! Two engineers had come to check the smoke alarms… There’s never any peace living here! You would not be blamed for thinking the place would be full of elderly Nottinghamian’s living a tranquil, calm, restful, pleasant, quiet, relaxed, soothing, undisturbed, untroubled, secluded, free from disturbance, free from interference, free from interruption, and strife-free existence as we await the grim-reaper… but no, not for me anyway! Add my lousy luck, Whoopsiedangleplops, Accifauxpas, ailments, medical appointments always going wrong, my forfeiture of short term memory, loss of mobility and now the buses going to be reduced… No, I’d sooner not think of it!

I put the TV on to watch the A-Team, which I did with about eight or nine nod-offs, then I changed to channel twenty, to enjoy a Boon and Pie in the Sky episodes. But I drifted off within minutes of Boon starting, waking up as the credits were rolling at the end of Pie in the Sky! How do I do this every single day?

And, the kitchen-battle-ground-bomb-site didn’t get any work done on it at all today!

I suppose things will get no betterer.

TTFN.

P.S.: Is it Psychologist, Psychiatrists, Psychoanalyst or a Physiotherapist that I need? Hehehe!

Inchcock Today – Thur 7 Mar 2019: A confusing, bemusing, befuddled discombobulated, often dapocaginous day!

Thursday 7th March 2019

Lithuanian: 2019 m. Kovo 7 d., Ketvirtadienis

11:25hrs. I begrudgingly woke up with a cracking headache, from my head-butting of the edge of the door frame of the kitchen cupboard I was on my knees emptying out, at the time yesterday, I assume. What a schlemiel!

The mood I was in was not a good one either. Feeling tenebrific about the Spring Cleaning not getting done, and the brain was in one of its “Let’s-Annoy-Inchcock Modes”, determined to riddle my peace-of-mind, by reminding me of all my failures, mistakes and fears!

I had to evacuate the £300 second-hand rickety, rusty, D3-Rated recliner, to get to the Emergency Grey plastic wee-wee bin. The wee-wee was an ELDWWIEWW (Extra-Long-Dribbling-When-Will-It-End-Wee-Wee). Which gave the brain longer to blast me with guilt and humiliation. But, luckily, the wee-wee took so long, I think the brain gave-up, feeling sorry for me. Hehehe! I took EGPWWB (Emergency Grey Plastic Wee-Wee Bin) and emptied and disinfectanted it. I was amazed at how full it was.

Into the kitchen, what a sight it was too. A right mess from where I’d taken out the things from the cupboards already done, and they were spread about waiting to be moved to a new home. This did nothing for my morale either. Tsk!

I got out the thermometer, eye drops, ear drops, hypodermic, morning medication dose pots, medicines, the hemadynamometer, and got the Health Checks done.

As I was thinking of how decent the readings were, compared to earlier in the week, another wee-wee was needed. Then the Porcelain Throne was required. So, off to the wet room. This time it was an ephemeral effort. A VSWWW (Very short-Weak-Wee-Wee). The evacuation went very good, no bleeding from the rear end, and not too messy at all. I did have to clean-up and applied some Daktacort Nitrate Hydrocortisone cream to the fungal lesion, though. The headache was beginning to ease a little now, and no pain from the scratch/bruise on the head, unless I caught it against something. Things were looking a bit brighter and better, now.

I checked the pins (legs), the water retention seems to be reluctant to flow down the legs this morning. It looked like many of the blood papsules had disappeared too. Most mysterious!

Got the kettle on, and made a brew. The view through the window revealed it was raining, so I took this mornings shot through the closed, unwanted, light and View-blocking closed window.

I got the computer on and got yesterday’s post updated, finished and posted off to WordPress.

Did the WP Reader section, and got caught up with them at last. I had a comment come in, from Tim Price, and something he wrote, inspired me to do an ode. I got straight on with it.

https://gerrynottingham.blog/2019/03/07/why-inchcocks-confidence-is-at-an-all-time-low-an-ode-laugh-and-a-truth/

It took a few hours, but I think it comes over as rather funny.

The wee-wee’s are definitely of the VSWWW mould now, but getting more frequent.

I tried to delete the no longer in use Google plus send-to button on WordPress. But blown if I can find out how to! Twit!

Got some corn flakes for brekkers with another mug of tea.

Made a start on this blog.

Got the ablutions sorted out and all changed, the pins were photographicalised for posterity. No apparent change to how they were looking earlier.

And then I set about emptying the kitchen cupboards out, under and to the side of the sink.

After about an hour, I abandoned the mission, due to Duodenal Donald and Anne Gyna were not liking me bending and stretching so much.

Leaving the cleaning products all over the kitchen floor, and this lot from only one of the cupboards.

It looks even worse than it did yesterday, now!

I poddled to the waste chute with the black rubbish bags and placed them down the chute. Then took the recycling bags and a bag of recycling glass down in the lift.

It was a bit windy out there, but the rain had stopped.

There were around eight workmen around the lift platform as I made way around the temporary white fencing then the machine to get to the bins at the back. I don’t think they even noticed me at all. Mind you they were buried in conversation with each other.

I took another photo before going back in the apartment lobby.

I dropped duplicated cleaners and food on the coffee table. A woman and her man passed, and I gave them each nibble bar. I was annoyed at missing the Winwood Social Hour, but glad that Trevor was on his way to see me.

This did not occur, as will be explained later – Grumph and spit!

Back in the flat and Sister Jane rang. She’s going to the City Hospital this morning for her bent-over, gnarled toes to be X-Rayed. After telling Jane why I had to stop doing the sorting-out this morning, because of Anne Gyna and Duodenal Donald, she said me I have to continue with doing the cleaning up and must not stop or give up! I’m beginning to worry about my telling her what I was leaving in my will to her? Hehehe! Only joking… I think! Hehehe!

I went on Facebook, and my old mate Trevor told me he would be calling to see me on Thursday 14th, not today, the 7th! So, I missed the Winwood Social waiting for him to come! And he will, next Thursday and I’ll miss the Social again! Ooh, I am miffed! I’ll ask him if he wants to come with me to the social.

Did the Health Checks, took the drugs and got on with updating this blog.

I had a very early nosh. And a grand tasting one it was! I had a small and a very small buttered sourdough baguette with the fancy Sicilian tomato slices, no salt needed with these flavour-ridden fruits. The Melton pie had lots of jelly in it. A few roast onions made up this delightful repast.

Taste Rating of 8.9/10 was given.

As I did what bit of washing up that was I needed to do. The view of the rain through the unwanted, thick-framed, light and view-blocking new windows. Cunningly installed in ‘Anti-aged photographer fashion’, so I cannot get to some panes of glass to clean, nor take any photographs downwards of Chestnut Way without using the step ladders, made me feel glad I had not gone out. Hehe!

By the time I’d done the Health Checks and forgot to take the medications (I didn’t realise this until the following wake-up time), the rain had stopped.

As I stood there in the kitchen, I had a scary Mind-Muddled-Moment. My thoughts were suddenly disjointed, semi-incoherent. This only lasted a minute or so, but during this short time, I had no idea what day it was or why I was in someone else’s kitchen? For I genuinely thought I seemed to have been transported somewhere. The mess in the kitchen from the abandoned cleaning up session confused me. Shook me a bit, but I was soon back to my usual docile-accepting-fate state.

As I got down to settle for the night, a new ailment, Coughing Carole kicked off. Persistently. Hey-ho!

Why Inchcock’s Confidence is at an all-time low. An Ode, laugh and a truth”

Thoughts that Inchcock considers as vital information to pass-on to the younger generation, in a bid to help them decide when to top themselves.

Knowing what is coming to them in old age.

Here starteth the THOUGHTS of WOE

My confidence is at an all-time low,
Things I need, disappear, memories don’t flow,
What’s right, wrong or real, where to go,
Sometimes frustrated, I’ve a wee-wee overflow,
I can’t play an instrument, trumpet or piano!

I fall asleep anytime, anywhere, stunts my workflow,
A bag-of-nerves, no confidence, I’m going loco,
Will I ever regain my sanity? I just don’t know,
Losing my mobility capabilities is a severe blow!

Just some of the programmes I miss watching, though,
Red Dwarf, The A-Team, Heartbeat, Boon & Columbo,
All on Freeview now, but I can’t watch them though,
I can’t stay awake long enough to watch a TV show!

I eat foods from Idaho, Sesotho, Mexico, Morocco,
Montenegro, and Puerto Rico, as my stomach, does grow!
I can’t see my feet when stood up, you know!
Lost Faith in Muslim, Christianity, Gnosticism & Shinto!
In Tellurians, politicians, banks, and Boll-Weevils, too!

Getting up in a morning is a pitiful, painful fiasco,
As are bending, stretching and lifting things is also,
But the mental side, the brain burst into a crescendo,
But no ideas, aims, plans, designs or manifesto,
Always, I use the feeble excuse, “I’ll get it done tomorrow!”

In depression, moroseness I will often wallow,
Meekly go along with others, revealing no bravado,
The only solution is a brain transplant to undergo,
Then I can take lessons, in Judo and Aikido,
Become a Champion, a success, make lots of dough!

Go on TV with Richard Attenborough,
Defeat my enemies, crush my foe!
Become admired, a local hero!
Get a job in Santa’s Grotto!
Or should I just get blotto?

Just a few of the daily ailments below that you can expect.

I didn’t put the Kidney stones, blood poisoning or Mental Decay on the list for fear of making it sound a tad too bleak for the ankle-snappers!

Inchcock Today – Wed 6 Mar 2019: Guilt, failures, let-downs and Accifauxpa.

Wednesday 6th March 2019

Icelandic: Miðvikudagur 6. mars 2019

22:10hrs. I woke, and as soon as I moved, just about everything on my abdominously overweight body seemed to either hurt or ache! The back, stomach, arms, legs, feet; especially the left sole, and neck. Not to mention Haemorrhoid Harold, Little Inchies Fungal Lesion, Anne Gyna, Arthur Itis, Back-Pain Brenda, and Kidney-Ache Kevin all kicking off when I tried to get up!

I limped to the wet room for a wee-wee. As I hobbled along, I could feel that dreaded wet/warm sensation from Little Inchies department. The wee-wee was again of the LDOPWW (Long-Drawn-Out-Persistent-Wee-Wee) type. I did the necessary cleansing, and medicationalisationing needed, releasing the odd Ooh and flinching. Hehehe! Don’t know I laughed there!

The legs had begun to swell and fill up with fluid. Some new odd spots and blotches had appeared. A few spider-veins seem to have disappeared, and overall, the legs felt far more cumbersome and heavy than of late. Still, it keeps me interested.

I washed-up and as I was going out through the door, I had to backtrack to use the Porcelain Throne. The evacuation was more natural and less messy this time. I washed the hands again, and off to the kitchen.

The site that greeted me depressed me. All that time doing the cupboards (Well, one of the nine that need doing, not to mention the 16 drawers to do yet), got to me for a moment when I realised how much still needed doing.

Depression dawned! All that effort and pain I went through yesterday, and it still looks worse than when I started the job! Grumph!

Part of my trouble is that I cannot keep going like I used to, and before long after starting, there is always one or more of the ailments to give me grief.

Today, when I get around to doing the first of the bottom floor level cupboards, this will be the greatest challenge for me. Getting short of breath with the bending down and getting up, that damned nasty step-ladder… Oh, stop moaning Inchcock, just gerron wiv it!

Not yet though, it’s far to early to make any noise and disturb my neighbours. Yesterday’s new found spirit and determination to get the Spring Cleaning done, was not as strong today. Humph!

I got the sphygmomanometer out and got the Health Checks done.

Ah, these first readings are looking better than the previous two days. The temperature is tumbling down nicely.

I took the medications with some spring water, then made a brew, and off to the computer.

As I sat myself down in the swivel chair, the need for yet another Porcelain Throne session became obvious and urgently so.

Off to the wet room with alacrity. An excellent session, during which I got a chapter of the Victoria Wood biography read. Washed the dandies yet again, and to the kitchen to make another brew.

I set about and stuck with updating the Tuesday blog with diligence. Got it finished and posted off to WordPress.

I thought I heard a chugging noise, assuming it was coming from outside, I opened the unwanted new light and view-blocking window, positioned and climbed the step-ladder, to look down over the ledge to investigate.

I took this snap downwards. It revealed nothing untoward that might have been making the chugging noise. Only that it had been raining outside.

This made me realise that I had not had a vicambulate out for a while. I blame my heroic, brave but unquestionably imbecilic determination to use my preciously limited time left to me, to get the Spring Cleaning done, for this situation!

On returning to the computer, I spotted the missing second-hand £2 wristwatch underneath the sideboard on which the Bang Olufsen stands!

Amazing! This is the second place I had looked for the timepiece when I first misplaced it. I am sure it was not there then! I recall getting down on my weak knees to search, and struggling to get back up?

As Tim Price from New Mexico said: “I believe the various goings on in your flat leave little doubt about whether or not aliens, ghosts, goblins, pixies, fairies, spirits, angels, demons and other paranormal phenomena that traipse along through multiple dimensions, and fall into your flat through the tear in the fabric of the space/time continuum, and continually torment you until they can find their way out, exist!” I reckon he was spot on with that comment! Hehehe!

I  worked on CorelDraw to do a couple of Thoughts graphics in advance. I got carried away and spent far too long at this. Partly due to the fact that I was enjoying doing it… but I suspect that my reluctance to get stuck into the task of sorting out the kitchen again, just might have played a part. Ahem! My EQ tells me I am in for Accifauxpa – but foolishly I ignored the warning, and paid for it later.

Went for a wee-wee, and it was a rather nasty LHBLWW (Long Hosepipe-Blasting like Wee-wee) one! If they are to start this mode again, and me not taking any Furesomide, and with the legs swelling still up this morning, I’m nervous about starting on the tablets again. But, common sense tells me I ought to (See how commonsensical I can occasionally be, Haha!)

So, I made a brew, got the brekkers porridge and took a Furesomide. Fingers crossed!

The internet stuttered and started and was very slow when it did work. It didn’t last too long, but it is still annoying.

I made up some more Thoughts graphics and odes and got carried away again.

Did the Health Checks and medications were taken.

The guilt of the kitchen-mess, (And fear of Sister Jane’s telling me off for not cleaning-up) forced me to rise and tackle it once again.

I managed to muster up the will-power and got into the kitchen. The task for today to sort out under the sink and the cupboard next to it with all the cleaning stuff in it.

I got down on my knees and began to remove the multitude of fresh air-sprays, fly-killer, washing-up liquids, disinfectants, polishes etc. out onto the floor to allow me to clean the inside shelves and so on.

Then I clouted my head on the edge of the framework as I dipped in once more to grab the stuff. I went down on my bum and hit the elbow against the floor as I landed. I lay there a few minutes, wondering if I should press the Alert Alarm Wristlet button.

This was not good! Tsk! I’m glad I didn’t push the alarm now, cause I was alright, apart from a cracking headache and temporary smidge of dizziness. It was only a scratch on the bonce.

To the wet room and put a bit of Germolene cream on the head. Took the photo on the left, which also shows how pale I went at the time. Talk about ghostly! Hehehe!

I then did the evening Health Checks very early, in case I forgot later. Taking an extra Codeine phosphate to counter the headache that was getting stronger, now.

Got the nosh sorted. Lamb hotpot with a little extra minced lamb and gravy, a sourdough baguette to soak up the juices.

I didn’t really enjoy the food, but still ate it all up.

I took the pots to the kitchen and put them in the sink to soak, along with the oven dish, saucepan and things from the cooking stage. One look the damned mess in the kitchen, which soured my enthusiasm and Guilt-Mode was adopted.

A wash and into the £300 second-hand ci 1968 rickety recliner I went. Put on the TV. Watched a complete film all the way through with only one five-minute nodding-off in the middle. The next two hours were shared with a wee-wee, TV, nodding-odd, a wee-wee, TV, nodding-off…

At the last waking up, I had the horrible idea that I had left the tap running in the sink! I just had to dismount the recliner, regain my balance and go to check things were okay in the bomb-site of a kitchen. They were. No taps left on, the oven was turned off, windows shut… but I still had this aggravating nagging doubt that something was not right. So, I nipped into the wet room. All okay in there too, no heater on, no faucets left on, the shower turned off. I returned to the recliner, no sooner had I sat down, I was up again, checking if I had left the door unlocked. I hadn’t.

Back into the recliner, had a drink of spring water and was off, at last, to sleep in minutes! Zzz!

Inchcock – Tue 5 Mar 2019: Made a start at Spring cleaning… should have it done in a few years… Haha!

Tuesday 5th March 2019

Africaans: Dinsdag 5 Maart 2019

00:00hrs: I grudgingly woke up. No mind-storms of fears, worries, nervousness or even illogicality this morning. Just a vague, tired sort of blankness and an acceptance of my acquiescence to life’s knock-backs, calamities, and double-whammies. Robotically I marshalled my dangerously overlarge-bellied body from the £300 second-hand ci. 1968 recliner. Gained my balance, and off for a wee-wee.

And what a wee-wee it was! A new classification for this one. LDOPWW (Long-Drawn-Out-Persistent-Wee-Wee) A marathon session, during which I actually picked up the Victoria Wood book for a read while I waited (patiently, mind) for the evacuation to stop! Haha!

To the kitchen, took the medications and got the kettle on for a brew.

The view of the distance, from the unwanted light & view blocking windows, that I cannot reach out of to take a photo of below, due to the ridiculously sticking-out a long way window ledge, and glass that cannot be reached to clean, was terrific.

I took this picture straight ahead. I think I’ll use it as a backdrop for an Inchcock’s Thoughts graphic later.

Got the Health Checks sorted out. The sphygmomanometer worked on the third attempt.

Whoops, the Sys is creeping back up a smidge.

I made a start on the updating of yesterdays post. I got sidetracked as I had to visit the Porcelain Throne. I cleaned-up and medicated a certain delicate area that had been bleeding, washed and returned to the updating. Eventually getting it sent off to WordPress.

The brain began to shower me with my worries, diffidence, and timidity. With nothing to fret about or over, my mind seems to feel the need to find something! LAck of success and ability has caused my sarcinarious, I’m sure.

I made a start on the photo manipulating, then writing this blog.

Around 0430hrs, I decided on a prandicle for breakfast. I had a mug of tea and some Marmite rice-cakes.

Off for another Porcelain Throne visitation. Long and messy this time.

Checked the pins (legs). New blotches were here and there. But the best bit was the face I can see in the knee again, right patella as you look at the photograph. Eyes just above the joint. Can you make it out? Hehehe!

Then I made a start on sorting things I can get rid of into black bags, ready to take them to the waste chute at 08:00hrs.

Started to sort out some of the kitchen drawers and cabinets. Gathered much duplicated long life food, and filled a carrier bag with them, to take down to the lobby so others can help themselves. (A couple I think that the Sturmscharführeress Guards and Wardens Deana and Julie might fancy) so I’ll nip and ask them first when I go out.

Got the ablutions done. Took the bags to the waste chute.

Then I gathered the goodies bag and a mammoth-sized white bag of recyclables and took them down. Leaving the part-sorted stuff in mid-stream, all over the kitchen. It looked far worse than when I first started the job! Hehe! But, Percy Veerance, I’ll get more done when I get back.

Dropped off the white bag and poddled along Chestnut Way to the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights Flats, and Administration shed for the Generalleutnantess Wardens Temporary HQ, Willmott-Dixon workers breakfast and tea-break room, Sarcasm & Insult distribution area, Tenants Socialisation Shed. Rumourmongering Clinic. Telling Inchcock off Zone, Things like porcelain and pottery to be stolen from, and residents room, shed.

As I walked along the road, many things took place that offered photographicalisational opportunities. But I’d forgotten to take the camera with me! Schlemiel!

Inside the rooms, I offered a choice of anything they fancied from the surplus bag, and thankfully they found a few that took their fancy. They help me, so I thought it only fair for them to have first options. A lady on the Tenants Association asked if I was going to the meeting later. I explained about my being up since midnight and having done some work sorting the kitchen out, and said I’d pop back with some nibbles for the tenants. Met the caretaker in the lobby going in and greeted him.

Walked back to the flat and placed all the stuff on the coffee table. Shot up to the flat and has a wee-wee, another LDOPWW (Long-Drawn-Out-Persistent-Wee-Wee).

Picked up the nibbles and camera and returned down to the lobby. Someone had taken 15 of 18 pieces of long-life fodder I’d left. I was tickled-pink that were used up.

Hobbled along to the shed, and handed the lady the nibbles. Got thanked, and out back up the road. Where I stopped and took these three shots from the same place.

Left to right: Woodthorpe Court at the far end with part of the new Winwood Court that is being built. Centre: Winwood Court. Right Part of Winwood, and Winchester Court.

The sun was out, but it was not a warm one.

Back in the flat, I continued with the sorting in the kitchen. This will take a long time and many days to sort out!

Climbing the step ladder, and Dizzy Dennis gave me a visit, no problem with falling, I kept my balance amazingly. But coming back down, I cracked my bad knee on the heater.

That was the end of today’s sorting out. I’ll try to do a bit each day when I have no medical appointments. Give it a go tomorrow morning again. The knee, is now going a bit red?

I got the oven heating up and made a start updating this blog. Stopped to get the battered chicken and frits in the tray. Did the Health Checks.

I was doing so well. Then, when the oven was hot enough, as I stood up to put the meal in the oven, that nuisance Kidney-Ache Kevin, kicked-off at me!

Another LDOPWW (Long-Drawn-Out-Persistent-Wee-Wee). On the bright side, the yare a lot less frequent now. Then continued with my new found determination and pressed on with this post.

Served up the fodder.

Battered chicken, fries, and mini-tomatoes. Mandarins in jelly and lemon mousse to follow. Best taste-rating for this one, only 6/10.

I felt so tired-out now, I knew that trying to watching any TV would be its frequent failure. But with the body aching all over from the cleaning up preventing me from getting comfortable, this proved to be wrong.

Did the Health Checks and settled. I watched an entire hour of The A-Team, before nodding off! Then the aches woke me, and I viewed ten-minutes if that, of Boon and off again. Woke and watched a couple of minutes of Pie in the Sky… Zzz!

Inchcock Today – Mon 4 March 19:

Monday 24th March 2019

Welsh: Dydd Llun 24 Mawrth 2019

23:30hrs. Most of the night I was awake and listening to the howling winds. They were getting worse, and for some reason, it felt like the wind was belting through the flat. I gave up on getting to sleep and decided I’d get up and make a mug of tea.

I defenestrated my disproportionately large-girthed body from the £300 second-hand, ci.1986 recliner, almost with ease.

Off to the kitchen, where I was met with the kitchen towel roll blowing in the wind and had unrolled itself!

Being the keen, alert-minded, Sherlock Holmes sort of old chap that I am, I soon discovered the reason for this, as the wind hit me in the face, coming in through the window I had left partly open last night!

I closed the window shut, (It was not easy with the wind coming in so strongly, wind in the wrong direction for me, Haha!) rerolled the kitchen towel and took a photo of it still blowing about in the breeze? The wind noise had greatly-reduced now. Tsk! Well, it would be, wouldn’t it? I’m quick yer know. Haha!

I had to nip to the wet room for an SWWW (Short-weak-wee-wee). I checked out the pins (legs). They had gone back to looking pale and ashen. I think a couple more blood papsules had come up, and one had disappeared. The wobbly-knee was looking less inflamed, though. The imbalance in fluid retention between the two pins remained obvious.

I went back to the kitchen. Gawd blimey, it felt even colder in there now!

I made a brew of tea and got the Health Check gear out. Everything, the thermometer, sphygmomanometer, drawer handles, the whole enchilada I came into contact with felt awfully cold!  Including me, so I put on the dressing gown.

Then I noticed how the lights outside seemed to be twinkling so much.

I soon discerned that this was due to the high winds blowing the trees and bushes around so much. I said I quick. Hehehe!

I took this picture through the window. Not that the twinkling shows, of course. There was no way I intended to open them again!

I got the Health Checks sorted out.

Apart from a high temperature (Than usual, for me anyway), everything else looked fine.

I went on the computer and updated the HC record on Excel for last week and this morning.

The tea had gone cold, so I made myself another potation.

I made a start on this blog to here, then updated yesterday’s post and sent it off to WordPress.

Had to divert to the Porcelain Throne in something of a rush… Not such a messy evacuation today, and I had time to read a bit of the Victoria Wood biography. Cleaned the porcelain, washed the dandies and went to make yet another mug of tea to replace the one that had gone cold again.

Then I went on the BBC website to check the weather and football scores. I discovered I am not as quick as I earlier claimed. The winds were from Storm Freya. So, I should have had the nous to think about closing the windows last night. What a Schlemiel I am!

Well, that’s me staying indoors today, I reckon!

I got on with writing this blog.

Visited the TFZer Facebook page.

Then started on Coreldraw making some more draught headers.

Phew! That soon me until 05:50hrs to get done. Ready for some brekkers now. Cornflakes for me, I think.

Ocado order arrived. Put things away. I got the Flowers to try and cheer-up very-poorly Jenny. I do pray she will be alright.

I noticed that the clouds, although looking so beautiful, were travelling across the scenic view from the unwanted new kitchen windows at a lickety-split pace. This informed me that the winds had not calmed down as much as I’d thought they had. This reaffirmed my decision not to go out today. Well, I’m calling at Jenny & Franks and going to the hut Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Generaloberstesses Wardens Temporary HQ. WC, Holding cells. Rumourmongering Clinic. Sarcasm & Insult distribution area. Tenants Socialisationalistic Area. Telling Inchcock off Zone. Crockery and pottery to be stolen from location, and residents porta-cabin, to see Obersturmführeress Warden Deana, and Sturmbannführeress Julie. Then I’ll get back inside the apartment.

I tended to the ablutions. Getting the hang of the new showerhead now. Got dressed, t’was a struggle, but I got the socks on. Hehe! Then took the black bags (5 of them) and got them to the waste chute and deposited them.

I departed, along with the white bag of recycling waste, and called at Jenny’s flat. No answer to the bell, so I went to the lift lobby; and Frank came out. I apologised for bothering him, and ask how Jenny was. Not very good, I’m afraid! I handed Frank the flowers for Jenny, and the pint of milk in case it might save them going out for any later.

Out I went and dropped off the white bag, and notice that the howling winds had blown against a sign on the metal fencing and bent it right away out from the frame!

It made walking up the road a bit of a risky business. I met Deana going the other way and asked if Julie was in the hut. ‘If I hurry she might be!’ But she had gone out on her rounds, like Deana had, by the time I arrived. So I slipped some nibbles in the fridge for them. I hope they don’t get knicked.

Only seven residents or so in there this morning. I think the wind might have put others, like me, off from going out. Hehe! A few bits of persiflage were shared with Penny, Angela, and others.

Then I felt the warm-wet sensation and knew that Little Inchies lesion was bleeding. So, embarrassed, I made a hasty withdrawal back to Woodthorpe Court.

I had to use another dodgy pedestrian route. The winds had moved the concrete based fencing, leaving even less room the manoeuvre.

Would you like to guess who banged his head against the tall bent leaning fence on the left in this photographicalisation? Klutz! Luckily, I had my flat cloth cap on. Haha!

I observed that the washers were both free as I entered the foyer entrance. I got up to the flat, in and to the wet room. Set about cleaning and medicating the fungal lesion. Not a nice nor pain-free undertaking, but it has to be done. Let me think, that Little Inchy, Kidney Pains Kevin, The Leg Wound and Wobble Knee Neil, all awaiting appointments to be checked out, now! No wonder I sometimes get frustrated!

Then I got the laundry things and togs and down to the laundry room.

Back up to the apartment. I pondered on what to have for nosh today. Being as I really want to try out the Sicilian Green tomatoes I had delivered from Ocado, I decided to have the ready-prepared meal that I got as well.

I’ll have the Lamb Moussaka, put plenty of extra cheese on it, with sliced green tomato, and a small baguette with it.

These tomatoes are called Marinda Natoora variety. The label says; Green-capped skins, umami flavour. So I looked up ‘umami’ on the web. Wikipedia said: “Umami or savoury taste, is one of the five basic tastes. It has been described as savoury and is characteristic of broths and cooked meats?

Ah-well, I’ll try them later.

I got carried away updating this blog, and was an hour late in going down to move the clothes from washer to dryer! Schlemiel!

Luckily no one had needed the washer and took the things out, they were still in the drum. I moved them to the dryer, set it going, made a note of the time and back up and set the timer, near the computer so as not to ‘blob-it’ again with the drying time.

This made me think of the missing second-hand £2 watch. I had a ferret around searching anywhere I thought I may not have looked. Of course, it was an utterly unsuccessful effort! Grumph!

I updated this blog until the alarm reminded me to go down to collect the laundry.

The workmen who were fitting the new Fire Sprinkler system were using the lifts, and it took me ages to get down to the ground floor.

As I got out of the lift, the queue of folks to get in was rather large. Nora and Penny amongst them, who I greeted with a cheery “Ah, you’re back, well done!” But not having the hearing aids in, I don’t know if I got any reply, but I did a couple of smiles. Hehehe!

I got in the laundry room, emptied the dryer and folded the togs. Wiped the drum and cleaned the filter.

Then Penny arrived, down to do some washing. We had a natter as I put the things in the bag. She had to shoot off, cause she’d got something cooking. But you never know, but I know, that also, I had no B.O. Hohoho! Is there no end to my poetic-wit!

When I got up to the twelfth floor, I photographicalised the prep work done up to now on the Fire Sprinkler system.

Health Checks carried out.

Nosh prep work. Got the Moussaka in the oven, with plenty of extra grated mature cheddar cheese added. Sliced the Marinda Natoora tomato ready to put on top of the meal later. Set the timer to remind me to add the toms to the meal. I nibbled a slice, and could not decide if I liked the taste or not. They did not have a tomato flavour as any other would have, and it is hard to choose the right words, but I’ll try. ‘Nutty’ ‘Not strong, more a delicate but positive tang’.

I noticed that a jet trail in the sky was breaking up so quickly after it had been made. The high winds, the cause perhaps. So I took this snap of it.

I put on the TV, with the timer at my side and made sure I did not fall asleep. The timer burst into life and off to the kitchen I went.

I added the tomatoes on top of the meal, and a small baguette as well.

When it all looked good, I served it up, and a right-treat it was, too.

The heated fancy tomatoes tasted almost meaty, very tasty and without using any salt on them as well. Excellent to use in cooking I think.

Despite tiredness dawning so suddenly, I did enjoy this gastronomic delight. A taste rating of 9.2/10 for this.

Washed the pots, during which I stopped to take these photographs of the turbulent, but beautiful-looking early evening sky.

Then, of course, I found it harder than ever to nod-off. Eventually, I did and was so thankful.

Both door alarms chimed out! With much strength of willpower,  and not being mentally with-it, I hauled my part-rested body, with its so irritated and pissed-off mind at being woken up from my slumber to the door. Dizzy Dennis’s previous attack was still affecting me, so I used the walking stick. It was a technician, who informed me that the fire-alarm was down and he thought the problem might be in my flat, and can he come it to check things? I was not very responsive, but I realised it was not his fault, let him in, and he did some checks. He departed saying something as he left, his body language told me all was okay now, but I did not catch any of his words.

Locked the door and back into the recliner. Of course, now I found it harder than ever to get back to sleep! Tsk!

Inchcock Today – Sun 3 Mar 19. Started so-well too! Ended up with defeatism, self-doubt, timidity and uncertainty. No change here then!

Sunday 3rd March 2019

Samoan: Aso Sa 3 Mati 2019

01:00hrs. I reluctantly woke. Finding no signs of nocturnal nibbling,  Knobbly-Knee Neil still in position, and the Emergency Grey Plastic Bucket was unused, I cheered up instantly and exponentially! A great start to the morning, I thought!

I removed my cumbersome, almost obrumpent, stomach-ladened frail body out of the £300 second-hand, ci. 1968 rickety, rusty recliner. With foolish thoughts of the whereabouts of my missing pre-owned £2 wristwatch that I’d misplaced.

I had a wee-wee, and commenced yet another ferreting and rummaging around searching-session for the much-missed, bargain watch. I already must have looked in most places, yet tried many of them again, but without any success! Finally. I gave up looking, so annoyed with myself for losing it! Shlump!

The ailments seemed in a good mood for me. I got the Health Checks done.

The Sys had shot up again.

I opened the unwanted new window to take this photo of the morning view.

I was well pleased with how it came out, but for some reason, it started off the old brain-storming with its wandering, variable, totally unrelated meanderings. They did not make any sense to me, so no point in revealing their crassness and illogicality. Oh, all right then! The things I remember going through the mangle in my brain were; The massive reduction in the size of the police service, and immigration. Pavement cyclists, the decrease in the size of products on sale, aliens, (Are there any, will they visit). The imminent return of the EIBWBBBs (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles) in the flat, the end of the world, terrorism, will the EU collapse, why are politicians liars and dishonest cheats (although I already know this, it is because we let them get away with it), and how can anyone not like Marmite?

Off to the wet room to use the Porcelain Throne. Messy evacuation again, but Little Inchies fungal lesion had been bleeding a lot less last night.

The knotty, gnarly, protuberant knees and legs had changed in their appearance again. And for some reason or other, the colour had returned to the flesh, and the hands too! Having said this, on my next inspection when I was changing into the trousers later, they had gone back to their pale-bloodless-mode again? No wonder I get confused!

I made a start on updating yesterday’s diary. Which was a mammoth session with all the pictures I’d taken in town to go on it. I think it was about 06:00hrs by the time I got it all done and posted off.

I made a mug of tea, and began this post going.

Got as far as here, and made a pot of Sharwood’s Sweet & Sour Noodle for breakfast.

Went on TFZer Facebooking. Then tried to concentrate on catching up with the blog template headers.

Having stopped work on the graphics, I went to make another mug of tea. And discovered I had left the hot tap (faucet) running. I was irate with myself, swore at me, and felt such a fool!

The rain was falling.

Back to computing.

Sister Jane rang. She was preparing her dinner and the line connection was very poor. Shame really, cause I’m not sure what it was that she was telling me off about. Hehehe! Bless her.

Back to the computing of the graphic headers. Got the Health Checks done.

Apart from dropping the dessert on the floor (Tsk!), the meal was very good.

Stewed steak in gravy and roast potatoes, with the juice being soaked up with some hot part-baked baguettes from the oven. A worthy 9/10 flavour rating.

The washing up took ages, during which I dropped and broke the vinegar sprinkler. Is there no hope for me? Huh!

The weariness and fatigue overcame me then. I put on the TV, but all I could do was sit with the mind chafing-away at me with defeatism, self-doubts, self-recriminations, pathetic self-pity, guilt-ridden, rueful, self-doubt, timidity and uncertainty.

I have no idea what was on the goggle-box, the mind ruled my concentration and tortured me, until I eventually fell asleep very early, even for me.

Hey-ho!
