Wednesday 22nd July 2026

Might be short, timewise, medical limitations, and the cost of the bloody taxis might bankrupt me. “Tsk!”
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Another broken sleep pattern. I rose, jumped out of the bed, did a double somersault over the c1966, £300 Oxfam charity shop-bought, wincingly grotty, beige-coloured, crumb-covered from my nocturnal nibblings, itch-making, uncomfortable, positively unhealthy, and dangerous, no longer operational, virus-breeding, easy-to-fall-out-of, catheter-tube-trapping recliner. Popped out onto the balcony and sang a good morning yodel to the local neighbours, and did 200 naked press-ups…
All right, I know, I know. I’ll start again then.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
I woke at 05:15hrs, and stayed there, dejected, morose, and stayed in the same position, physically, but under the strain of mental turmoil and depression, for an hour or so. Thus, a normal awakening.
Again, I’d not put the night pouch on last night. It was so blown up I expected it to burst, but it didn’t. Was my luck changing? Hahaha! What a daft thought!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
I measured the jug of urine, and guessed the colour, and hastened, albeit it more of a hobbled-swift-limp, to the Porcelain Throne. This evacuation was in much more of a Constipation Conrad style, a rarity of late. Much to the displeasure of my haemorrhoids. Little cleaning up was needed, & no escpages. Which was a nice change
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Of to check if I’d left anything on the cooker, left the fridge or freezer doors open, or taps left running. Then took the potatoes from the pan, ran cold water on them and threw them away. Krangleturds! Then washed last night’s pots I’d left soaking in the sink.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
My mind semi-engaged, as I remembered this was the hospital day, and faux-planned what needed doing in preparation. Which, as usual, I abandoned and started doing something else. This time I strayed off the plot, and did the Health checks. And was pleasantly surprised to see (both of the day were) figures in just High.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
I got the computer on, and realised I’d not made the list of things to do and take with me to the hospital. But got
He noticed a fresh bruise on mt forehead. He took a snap of it with my camera. I could not see a bruise. Akram is a good listener and remembers things that I ask him to do,
Issued the medications. I forgot to ask him to have the Catheter bag changed.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
I spent a while making a list of things to do in preparation of the hospital visit, what to take with me. Mizra reminded me to take the paperwork last night, and put it into the waker-trolley for me in a hard envelope, bless him. The camera was too big to carry. A Kodak, and an old Kodak, so it is rather bulky and heavy.
Hearing aid in the tab-holes with new batteries, and both of my prescription glasses. Added the bus pass if needed, and enough money for the taxi each way.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
When the next Carer arrived, he thought that there would be no Escort coming. Then I got an email saying the Easy-Link lift to go to the QMC EENT had been cancelled due to the bus breaking down.
This brought on anger, as my bad luck gets more frequent every day! A deep depression, and fear about not having enough cash to pay both ways for taxis!
With a chance of no Escort as well, I was ready to call it a day. But I think a Carer said it was arranged, but it won’t be me… I clung to the hope.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
I turned off the computer, and pressed on with a stand-up wash, shave and teggie-cleaning in the wet room.
With a most disturbing uncertainty.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
As I washed and shaved, the telephone chirped into life.
I got to the landline, and it was the Doctor’s surgery receptionist, giving me the INR test results.
chimed up. No video on the screen, just black. I pressed the open door button, and returned to the wet room and hastily got some more water to go down the drain hole.
Whoever it was on the intercom had not arrived yet.

TREATMENT AND RETURNING
What a wonderful pleasure; it was Carer Ejaz who arrived to be mt escort to the hospital! I could not help myself and hugged him as he entered the room. Bad news about having to get taxis both ways, but he was such a help in getting me ready, and a comfort. He went through the list and made sure I’d got everything needed for the trip. Ordered a taxi and got me dressed; I gave Ejaz all the cash I had to sort paying the drivers with. And down to the main foyer in plenty of time to meet the cabbie. Helped me into the car, but the trolley walker collapsed in the boot, and we were off on our way to the hospital.
The driver got us there in plenty of time. But by the time he’d struggled to get somewhere to park and drop us off, things were a little tight. £8.90, not bad that. I went in; no one was on the reception desk. Ejaz asked someone where we should be, and we were sent to the lifts. Once we got there, I recognised the layout from my last visit. We signed in and sat down waiting to be called in.
A few minutes later, a lady came and called out my name, and we followed her to a treatment room. I thought she looked like the lady who was treating me when I had the seizure. When we got in the room, I recognised her as the same lady. She was so understanding and patient with things and me, Bless Her.🌸🪷
A long session of eye-testing and Q&As followed. She was understanding of my struggle to get into position on the viewer, with pain from arthritis in my neck and shoulder. Never showing any sign of frustration. Nine different tests were done on each eye. Then the wall chart readings through different holed cards, and with various other patterns, were done. At this stage, she kindly explained the result so far. This was prompted by my Ejaz saying I thought I’d got Cataract in the left (far worse vision than the right one), and Glaucoma in the left eye.
I was wrong. I’d got Cataract in both eyes. The floaters had increased greatly in the left eye, and were starting in the right one. Then she explained how serious it was, much worse than they were in her tests months ago when I had the seizure. That stopped the proceedings as she thought I was having a heart attack, and she called the CAT team, and I was kept in cardiac overnight.
I did mention that when I’d been home for a few days, I was not sure if I’d been fully assessed or not. I called the hospital and asked if I needed to come in again, or await further tests. I was told, “They do know what they are doing”, and the phone died. She seemed concerned about this, and it prompted an apology for it taking them so long- months- to get in touch with me.
Then a lady said I need further tests in the scan room, for further examinations to clarify her own findings. She led us back to the waiting area, where I found a slightly higher chair to sit on as we waited.
I can’t recall the name of these scans, but they were better than a kaleidoscope, and much brighter.
On both eyes, she took several different scans. I was struggling to keep perfectly still, and she had to do a few again. But she was patient with me, and talked throughout, explaining what she was testing and what she was testing. But even with the hearing aids, I didn’t realise this; Ejaz told me afterwards.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Then, some eye drops were
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
I was hoping to get the tram & bus back home was we left for the exit; both free with my passes. But no, Ejaz (not his fault) ordered a taxi, as he had to get me home quickly, as he had his regular client to visit. My immediate thought was, why am I no longer a regular with Ejaz? I sense some ulterior motive for this. Thus my £39 in the morning dwindled to £3.45 by the time we got back to the flat.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Well, gone midnight now, I’m so weary. I’ll try to make a meal up, and myself get to bed. Not that I anticipate getting much sleep. So many nights of broken sleep, with the mind always rattling away reminding me of my multitude of unresolved problems,
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Knocked ice off of individual clunks of out-of-date chips from the oven. They were not as good-tasting as anticipated. But the no-butter buttered bread rolls, and last of the Roquefort cheese? Delicious!

Inchie: Tuesday 19th May 2026 – A fall & A Flood
The Ode explains my early-morning kerfuffle.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
We had not had time to properly clean the wet room. But my attention was on the flaming new computer mysteries with Corel Draw, the new complicated Note app, and my seemingly new to me (I’m fibbing, done it months now, even on the old keyboard) habit of hitting the wrong combinations of keys, and getting up so many baffling options to choose if I wish to continue using programs I’ve never heard of.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Carer Rashid, then Dilan, then Mizra, then Carer Ejaz called today. Damned busy, so much that this is going to be another rushed, no-time-to-do-properly, blog.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
The second call was to Dilan. Who got the laundry started and called Jenny to let her know. Then I asked him and explained what I’d like done to finish the wet room cleaning.
He did a great job!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
I’d been looking at the ‘Cool’ battery clock calendar! This time, at a quarter to one PM, I had not updated the clock’s date for two days! Naturally, for me anyway, I swore at myself, added some locally used curses and insults, spat, and sulked for quite a while. Went to do what so many folks do, I made a
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
I partly made a meal, just some spuds to add to it. I haven’t got any fresh ones, so I opened the last tin.
Then I realised that only Asda, Iceland, Ocado, and Morrisons had rejected my sign-in to place an order. Because it was on the new computer. I half-heartedly tried J Sainsbury’s. And got in! Hopefully I’ll have bread, tomatoes, a few ready-made meals, bikkies, potatoes, veg and mushrooms in the morning.
Hopefully, (I did, but it was a terrible day).

I was dreaming that I was in the porta-cabin where we used to hold the weekly social get-together for the residents. I really did think I was there, and could see and talk to the folks enjoying the meeting that Jenny used to organise. I reckon this caused my reluctance to get up… I must have been trying to nod off again to get back to the enjoyment and fun I was having again. See Gaynor, Cynth, Jenny, Joe, and the others again.
I know it sounds strange, but I was asleep and was knowingly trying to reach for the dream to reappear.
I part-slept for longer than I have since having my 1996 Covid jab, when I slept for 22 hours.
I was eventually forced to get up by a disgusted-looking Carer Dilan. Not amused at all.
rather miraculously got it to boot into action.
Then spent hours and hours doing the one-off blog of Mr Starmer’s reaction to the disastrous local election result for Labour. I enjoyed doing that, but did not get it done until very late. And I was so tired again. Possibly, I thought I might get back to the Wednesday Social in the porta-cabin, if I got my head down?

Snaps of the day
Attempted wide shots, erm, failed.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Sorry, no Ode today. Just
A TALE OF WOE… Maybe later?
After removing the night bag, with only 500ml in it, and taking some photos, sorting the wast bins, having a wash, shave and shit, doing my teggies, and getting the dressing gown on… the
Carer Rachid arrived and saw the pain and heard the bad language each time the stabbing, stinging pains hit me. I’ll call the nurses later to see if they can attend, too early in the day yet.
Photographs of the day
A bit bloody, as was anticipated.
Seems the Sun was losing
the battle again. Lower down,
it was getting through.
But, another mystery here;
Why did the shot of it
not get on to the SD card?
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Despite being overjoyed at getting the Catheter agony removed, I am now feeling very queasy, and not at all like wanting to eat anything. Another Mystery of Woodthorpe Court, with the hobgoblins, spectres, gnomai, phantasms, ghosts, the grotesque succubae, extraterrestrials, ectoplasms, spirits, or the Fata Morganas, that have been sent to taunt, irritate and terminate my already limited saneness of mind: which is now losing its few marbles it has left.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
The last late snaps…
get this one ready.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
All the regular pains returned later on.
The Ingrowing-Toenail-Titus, Back-Pain-Brenda, Lymphorea-Leslie, Colin-Cramps, Shaking-Shoulder-Shirley, Kidney-Pains-Kitty, Fractured-Knee-Frank, Duodenal Donald, and even Anne Gyna threw in her pennorth of pain. But, with the memory of today’s chronic Catheter Flowback Pains, I almost welcomed the return of my regular ailment, which had been overshadowed by the more vicious, cruel Bladder-Blockage-Beryl agony that no medication could counter. Thank heavens the Nurse came. 🤎

Inchie Today: Thursday 7th May 2026
Then the summoning from the innards to get to the wet room and Porcelain Throne with all the alacrity I could muster arrived. So I did!
The first sitting proved to be a total failure; apart from escaping wind with each effort to start the evacuation, nothing else moved. Being as I was in the wetroom, I had a stand-up wash, did the teggies and had a shave. Just the one knick. And
I was certain that Constipation Conrad had me in his grip. I had the same thing three times over the next half-hour. I was telling the Carer about it and decided to take a Senna tablet to help move things along. Another ache in the stomach developed; I was sure it was Constipation Conrad, solidifying my waste in my rectal ampulla. I made my tea & breakfast. Feeling smug at taking the Senna, I bade the Carer farewell.
Minutes later, I felt the same rear-end and stomach feelings that I had before. Knowing full well that Senna tablets could not be affecting things so soon, I ambled to the wet room. Very luckily, I took off my dressing gown first.
But fear not, no floor, wall or furniture splashed!
It was me and the porcelain that coped with the liquid splash-backs. I made a mess on the floor, but that was only from bits of the one-and-a-half toilet rolls I used to clean myself up. I asked the Carer to Hoover the bits from the mats up for me. Found much later on my next trip to the Throne, they were still there. Maybe he didn’t understand my request or thought it wasn’t his job. Not earth-shattering. I managed to do it safely.
Fed-upperness dawned.
Two medics, one a nurse, came in the afternoon to give me my Covid shot. Nice couple.
Now, we did have clouds in my young days in the bricks, railway viaducts and high-rise station. The cobblestoned streets were for the horses’ safety on the ice.
But our views of the sky from Brookfield Place, a terrace of six British Railway 2-up-two down houses, were limited. The height of the viaduct, much higher than the houses, limited the view.
I keep getting flashbacks. I can’t say I was happy back then… but I just accepted that that was how things were. Like scrounging food or 2/- from a neighbour for Mam. Having no TV. I was amazed when I saw that the next-door neighbours had not only a TV but also a gramophone, a telephone, a refrigerator, and a hot-water geyser.
Although I’m certainly not happy with life today.
There goes another flashback!
A fellow blogger told me that Pluto TV were showing the original Mission Impossible series on TV. I looked at the channels available on Virgin, getting all excited about watching them again. But Pluto was not on the list. I almost cried! Hahaha!
Flashback due…
Reverend Salmon, 1956ish. Telling our Boys’ Brigade Company that when the Lord returns, the world will go dark, yet the sun will shine. Now, did I dream this? Where did it come from? How the Hell could I remember it if it did happen? How come I’ve never thought about it before?
And another thing: I forgot to publish the blog today. I emailed a request for the Doctor and sent it to the District Nurses! I lost my reading glasses, can opener, TV remote and forgot about the Doctor’s appointment. That is, of course, up to now, plenty of time for me to make more
Waiting for the same last Carer to arrive. Hard work.
Makes me nervous, actually. And the company have made this Carer my regular one.
My bad, someone else’s good.

Inchie Today: Wed 29th April 2026
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Another sleepless night. Fretting over the computer not starting, as I explained yesterday, I think.
Today was another day full of angst.
Any new or altered technology is above my head. As if I’m in a deep mine, and facts & figures, understanding, solutions, and graspabilities are floating out of reach in the outer hemisphere. Today was like this, logic, unstandableness, out of reach, unattainable…
With the Carers’ help, snaps were taken.
His most successful attempt to be the most bothersome ailment of the day, in months.
The mysteries of the computer were the most persistent, but somehow or other, I seemed to find a way of keeping going without the foggiest idea how or what I was doing, but I did.
I am currently further behind with blogging, reading & comments on WordPress; I shall have to cut things short to at least catch up a little.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Partly held up by an elastic band,
A hole you can put through your hand,
To buy new ones, I’ll need a wand…
The kitchen’s night view is grand.
Pretty good in the daytime, too.
of the changing sky.
butter, with sliced tomatoes,
salted, and sliced roast meat.
Carer Ejaz sliced them for me.
I was in a bit of a state, with
bit of a battering tonight.
It’s been a week or so since
they had a go at me. I thought
they had departed. It’s been
such a long time.
The computer, CorelDraw. With me managing to arrange two appointments for the same time. Covid Jab at the chemist, and the Doctor’s appointment to see the plebotomist, along with visits from SS & DD; it was a chaotic and confusing day.
Then, on Thursday, I got a call from the surgery, telling me they had arranged a home visit for me that same Wednesday! Luckily for me, they changed the day to the following Thursday. Now I must remember to ring the chemist tomorrow to cancel and apologise. They are closed on a Saturday, so I must remember.
Naturally, I forgot all about doing it.
My mind is permanently bemused,
It feels as if it’s being abused,
No rest, no logic… aggressed,
Think its being self-anatomised,
Plans, tasks, only being theorised,
Action thought of, not actualised,
Changes; my brain’s unmodernised
Wants, hopes & needs, dematerialised…
I should really give up, I realised,
Problems get too big-sized,
For years on WordPress, I’ve diarised,
Now two days behind; I cried…
More medical dates, as I aged,
Without Carers, I once managed,
Seems it has to be acknowledged,
My mind struggles; it gets befogged,
Pain, aches, once just twinged,
Catheter agony; I was almost unhinged,
My current state remains undivulged,
Depressed, at best, rather laboured,
Be nice to get my batteries recharged!

my willpower. Hehehe!

Inchie Today: Sunday 26th April 2026
Food Shortages On The Way
Carbonated Drinks/Beer: CO2 is crucial for carbonation, and shortages can affect production.
Meat Products: Chicken and pork, which require CO2 for packaging and processing, are deemed highly vulnerable.
Salad/Packaged Foods: Shortages in carbon dioxide affect the shelf life and packaging of fresh, prepared fish, fruit and salad items.
Baked Goods: As with salads, some vegetable packaging may be affected.
CO2 Shortages: A major UK plant’s potential issues, coupled with high natural gas costs, have constrained the supply of fertiliser and CO2, a by-product of the process.
Geopolitical Instability: Threats to supply chains and rising energy costs, with warnings of shortages within weeks. Flight Cancellations: Airlines are reducing flights due to a jet fuel shortage, leading to many cancellations of orders.
Fresh Produce: Tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers may face shortages or significant price hikes due to rising, war-driven energy costs for greenhouses.
What To Stock
Tinned Meats & Fish: Tuna, sardines, salmon, corned beef, spam, corn, and stewed steak.
Tinned Meals/Veg: Baked beans, chickpeas, kidney beans, soup, and tinned potatoes.
Carbs: Pasta, rice, noodles (like Super Noodles), dried soya, and oats.
Long-life Dairy & Alternatives: UHT milk, powdered milk, and canned custard.
Nutrient-Dense & Pantry Items: Peanut butter, nuts, dried fruit, honey, and cooking oils (ghee).
Comfort Foods: Chocolate, biscuits, crisps, some sauces and sweets.
Recommendations
Stockpiling Advice: Experts suggest maintaining a basic inventory of non-perishable items, including tinned foods, rice, and pasta.
STARMER
The UK government is planning for potential summer 2026 food shortages: chicken, pork, and products requiring carbon dioxide, such as packaged meats and fizzy drinks, due to disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. While not currently critical, this “worst-case scenario” could lead to reduced variety in supermarkets and higher food inflation, currently forecast to increase by 10-15%.

06:35hrs, I stirred, feeling that the swollen legs were a little less painful. Until I tried to stand up.
Sorry, but today has been so busy again.
BP on Hyper Level.
Iceland order.
just in case of shortages coming,
Need it for the Catheter.

Not much detail, so far behind again.
Just too busy, Humph!

Ejaz did all but the last call today, a grand lad, conscientious and caring. 👌🏼
Another good um, Mizra did last call.
Jenny, bless her, rang me and commiserated.
👼🏻 My Guardian Angel. 👼🏻
Got some food made up, Mizra had kindly prepped for me earlier. Just got to get the spuds and peas out of the slow-cooker, if they are ready.
They were…
Extra-Strong Stilton cheese, garden peas heated in soy sauce, chopped green tomato, and all the remaining small potatoes with a splash of Hoisin sauce on the spuds. Gorgeous Taste!

Inchie: Saturday 25th April 2026
WHAT AN ODD NIGHT
It started when I settled in the c1966, £300 Oxfam charity shop-bought, wincingly grotty, beige-coloured, crumb-covered from my nocturnal nibblings, itch-making, uncomfortable, positively unhealthy, and dangerous, no longer operational, virus-breeding, easy-to-fall-out-of, rusty, flea-bitten catheter-tube-trapping recliner, to eat my creative evening meal. Whatever made me try this mixture, I’m not sure. I found a long-life ready meal fallen at the back of the cupboard. Sweet & Sour Vegetables. I tipped that into a microwave dish earlier in the day, and got some peas and a potato cooking in the slow cooker to add to it later. I
Spilling it on my dressing gown was not in the plan! Got cleaned up; the swollen feet were giving me some grief. Got back to finish the feast, and took the tray & dishes to the kitchen to soak overnight.
Turned the lights out when I put the TV on and started watching some recorded episodes of Heartbeat. Perfectly naturally for me, I fell asleep and realised the volume was a little high… Could I find the remote control? No! Well, it took me ages. Got up, searched for the torch, and hunted around. On the verge of deciding I’d have to turn the TV off at the power switch, I found it wrapped in the dressing gown I had to take off that I’d dirtied.
Turned down the sound and turned on a Boon recording. Perfectly naturally for me, I fell asleep.
Could I find the remote control to change the channel? This time, I was certain it had dissolved into the ether. I was on the arm of the £300 second-hand shop purchase in 1966, which was a well-causing, uncomfortable, not-working, itch-inspiring, and crumb-containing recliner. Now the batteries had gone flat on the torch. I went into the kitchen to get the solar-powered battery, but that had gone AWOL. Back to the main room, for another search, no luck. Then I decided to get the pots washed. During which I knocked a bottle of washing-up liquid off the drainer, it was more lethal than ice skating! An hour later, I’d cleaned up the floor, in a fashion.
Put the light on in the front room for another hunt for the remote control. I found it! I’d put it on the Carers table, that’s within arm’s reach.
TV back on, to see a recorded Heartbeat episode.
Perfectly naturally for me, I fell asleep. Woke with the intentions of switching off the TV… a problem; I could not find the remote control! Never have yet. Turned the TV off at the plug. I realised what time it was in the morning, with all my faffling about. I did a safety check of the flat, taps, lights, stove, cookers, etc., and got my head down.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
I got my fresh Kagoule and dressing gown on. Then I Hoovered the hallway. I could wear neither socks, shoes, nor slippers again. This is due to the swollen feet. This also prevented me from going with the Carer to do some shopping. I was looking forward to that, I really was. Tsk!
I got the computer on and found the missing shades and TV remote. Both partway under the £300 second-hand shop-bought, c1966, moth-eaten, bedraggled, grotty, cringingly beige-coloured, much-dilapidated, crumb-containing from my nocturnal
I was so pleased to see Carer Elaz arrive, an excellent Carer whom I trust, as with Mizra.
Ejaz gave me the medications, reminded me to take the K & B Vitamins, and carried out a full body check on me. No one has done that since the last time Ejaz did, Monday, I think. It helped me, having just cleared and washed the infected areas. He checked meticulously and barrier-creamed Phorpain Gelled Back-Pain-Brenda, Swollen-Feet-Francis, Factured-Knee-Frank, Lymphorrhea-Leslies-Legs, Swollen-Toes-Titianna, Shoulder-Shaking-Shirley, and all those in need. Made me a mug of tea, and brought me a few bikkies to dunk. Thanks, Ejaz.
I got on the computer, and CorelDraw caused some… er… unknown, unexplained faults for me. Had to save, close, and reopen it. Then it wouldn’t let me delete photographs. And Asif’s man has missed the last three times he said he’d call.
He must just be extremely busy, I suppose.
Ejaz returned for the longer shopping call. I felt horrible not being able to go with him and pick out what I fancy from the shops. Huh!
I blame the medical people. Not really! But they knew I had to drink tons, gallons of water to ease the pain from the Catheter flowback, for four days. Now I have water retention in both legs, feet, and all toes!
The agony was getting too much. Then, fortunately, the lesion in my penis started squirting out urine all over me, the carpet and even the computer!
I had to sit here as the urine suddenly flowed, the bag ever filling up, and the squirty leak from the finger lesion spraying everything, with a large mixing bowl between my legs to try to catch little Inchy’s contribution, for hours until a nurse arrived to save the day. Bless her Cotton-Socks. 💟 I know I may have said all this earlier, but what a thing to go through! Gawd knows how I got through it.
Self-Pity now… Sorry. I went off track there, sorry again, back to blessed Ejaz. Painkillers issued. And gave him the shopping list that I wanted him to get for me, handed him some money & off he shot.
Back on the computer and started the Ode of the day. This time, I think I must have hit the wrong keys. I got up a graph of choices to make, each with a warning that this or that will not work if you accept/take this action. Or, you will not be able to edit after taking this option… Not the foggiest idea what it all meant, but there was no close option on the window. Baffled again. I clicked close on the big window and gave it a minute or two, then opened it again. Phew! Back to normal. This prompted thoughts of the Oligarchs to go on the Ode.
When I’m sitting down, there is no pain from the swollen feet whatsoever. The moment I move to stand up, or hobble about, they work overtime on their pain onslaught. Hehe!
Ejaz returned with the shopping. The lad was wringing with sweat.
He had taken the following snaps while out.
To show me what I’d missed. Haha!
Front of Woodthorpe Flats, end of the car park.
Voodthorpe Court.
Wasn’t that kind of him, Ejaz?
Ejaz came up and gave me the nosh he’s bought for me. Three bottles of Soda water, Schweppes.
& gigantic potatoes. Hehe!
As Ejaz was ready to go, I felt a sharp pain in my right foot from water retention swelling.
Ejaz had a look and took a photo.
Not been as painful as this
all day. Mmm?
I got the meal prepped and ready to serve with some beef later tonight.
Carer Ejaz did the late call. Phorpained the right Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley, issued medications, and issued a mug of tea and bikkies for me. 👍🏻
A First-Time Long, Active Seizure.
I had a second seizure, that I know of; the first was a mini seizure, the second I believe was a very rare Long Active one. When I came out-of-it to the usual upflux of acid into the throat, mouth, and nose, I was in the £300 second-hand shop-bought, c1966, moth-eaten, bedraggled, grotty, cringingly beige-coloured, much-dilapidated, crumb-containing from my nocturnal nibblings, bug-ridden, itch-inspiring, not-working recliner. My last memory before coming out-of-it was of swearing at CorelDraw as it froze on me… Then, I find myself half-in, half-out of the recliner. I’d taken the bottle of springwater from under the computer with me, and after waiting for my senses to return and getting up on my feet, I spotted that I’d closed down the computer. Why? Had I solved the problem? Had I given up? It really was a blank. I tried to keep calm and even considered calling for help. But it was already too late, gone 22:00 hours. I’d lost two hrs, I reckon.
Then my swollen feet felt the wet on the carpet!
I got to the computer chair, to find I’d not only torn the last page from the memory pad, but torn it into tiny pieces and thrown them into the waste bin! Next, I saw that the landline phone was out of its cradle, and the ear drops and diabetes pep drink had been knocked over on the desk.
Luckily, the pain eased within a minute of drinking the liquids, and the pouch filled rapidly.
Despite still having worries about what else I might have been doing during the seizure. I just had to get back on the computer and check if I’d done something silly, or even fatal, on the machine. Everything was working, but I had not closed down properly. Lost some work on WordPress, but could find nowt else terribly wrong. I closed the computer down, stripped and climbed carefully into bed.
Inchie: Saturday 11th April 2026
I was woken by Rib-Pains-Rupert, and this made me lie there worrying about whether I will get the Morphine tablets replaced, on the prescriptions. Knowing I only had two left put me in a not-good place mentally. These OxyContin are the first painkillers they gave me that countered the pain from the knee, back, shoulder and whatever it was in the rib cage that was giving me such sharp surges of pain this morning. Nothing would ease the pains before these. Definitely, they were working and easing the agony. I fear they will not be a regular pain medication, due to all the side effects. I can just cope so much better with these. I dread the thought of them taking them off me, after several days of inner joy at so much less pain to cope with. I can’t get through to the Doctor by email, get to the surgery, or use the telephone… When I tried, I had to go through the AI Robot’s questions and was told that they do not accept prescription inquiries over the phone. I would have waited to be put through, in hope of getting advice about the tablets, but the last time I was put through to a semi-human, Customer Activator or whatever the snob-bag is called, he cut me off when I was struggling to get my words out. Someone claimed that Herr Starmer is cutting their allowance for email and
the morning view… But, No! The batteries had run out, and I also noted that the kitchen clock battery had run out. I thought I’d better get the Health Checks done next.
Not only was this BP session the worst in many a month, but I tried to take the BP levels again later to see if it had come down… the 4 AA batteries in the sphygmomanometer had run flat. I wondered if this was really happening, or if I was in a seizure or dreaming and still in bed. Hehe! When it came to taking the temperature, yes, this really did happen: the battery in the ear thermometer had run out!
Carer Ejaz arrived and asked if he could use my internet number & code to top up his mobile. We could not find the details. Ejaz went through the Virgin folder, every sheet, and there were dozens of them. I searched through my reminder book, but without any luck. I asked him if he had a Helpline available; he tried that, and we were both over the moon when he got it done. I think, in our excitement, I jumped up to dance with him in celebration. Stupid idea. Now the ribs and right shoulder are kicking off again. Haha!
On his next call, I asked Ejaz to put the long Kaghoule, outside shoes on for me, to make things quicker when Carer Mizra came to take me shopping. He did a full-body check, barrier-cramming all areas in need, and there were a few. Phorpain gelled shoulder and back. Put some Germolene on my face and head injuries. Then changed my socks for me and foamed
I felt there was time to have a bash at
As the time approached for Mizra to arrive, I checked the list of things needed and added AA & AAA batteries. I forgot to take the dead battery from the ear thermometer with me. Hey-Ho!
I was taking out the SD Card from the Kodak-Tim-2 camera, and the card fell to bits. Huh, have to add one to the shopping list!
Mizra was pleased I’d got so much done already, so we could avoid missing the bus. He got my big coat on me, and we hurried, I was playing catch-up (all day as it happens), to the bus stop. I showed him a quicker route through Windwood and Winchester blocks,
We arrived at the bus shelter, and of course, I could not take any pictures until I’d bought the batteries. Mizra had left his bus pass in the flat, so I gave him the swipe and keys, and he nipped back to collect them. He was back in time to catch the bus.
The short bus ride down the hill to Mansfield Road was a bit painful, as I had to sit on a side-saddle seat with the walker. But this time I got off the bus without falling over. Hahaha! We hastened down to the computer shop. I bought a new reminder notepad.
The batteries and a new SD Card.
Out and across the pedestrian crossing to Ozans Continental store. Where I bought: Lemon Wafers, some Croissants, pickled beetroots, brown tomatoes, one extra-large potato, chicken pieces, Sokolow sausages, Boze Okopcony Paskyck (Smoked Bacon),
We walked up to the Co-op store to use the machine to get some money, so I could pay for the toenail cutter and Window cleaner. Then up to the top bus shelter, I’m chasing behind Mirza, cause I can’t walk as fast as him. When we reached the bus shelter, where I’d had a seizure and walked into the traffic, it made me a little nervous. With Mizra walking ahead to encourage me to speed up, it meant that if I did it again, this time a Carer would see me going into the traffic. Luckily, when I did do this a few months ago, I was pulled back before walking slowly and
As I was taking the picture, a bus pulled in. I may not have caught the clouds, but I caught the bus’s weird logo on the side of it. 🤗
Not to be defeated, I tried to get a snap of the clouds again. Not a bad effort
Back to the flats, through the corridors to the lifts in the end Woodthorpe Court block. I was doing my best to keep up with Mizra, but got further behind, my chest wheezing now. I could see he was anxious to get to his next call on time. We got inside the cell… I mean flat,
Used Kodak 1 to take this shot of the computer desk and my ‘Cool’, clock, calendar thingamagig. Looking forward to getting Kodak-Tim-2 up and working again. Mizra asked if he could put the food away for me, but I said thanks for the offer, but I don’t want you to miss your bus to your next client. I have two nice men, Carers in Ejaz and Mizra. Both nice lads. I’ll mention anyone else.
Opening the SD card’s box was a job, and I thought I heard something fall out of the casing. I was doing this over a drawer, but could see nothing in there. Mind you, it is a rubbish-filled drawer. Then I tried to get the SD card into the camera. A message showed each time I inserted it, and I had many goes at it: ‘Faulty Card’. Reformat it? Reformatting it will lose all the photos. Or turn off. I kept trying, without any luck. For so long, Carer Ejaz came on his next visit. I resigned myself to going to the Computer shop again next Saturday for guidance. Ejaz issued medications and did his report on his mobile. I had an epiphany of sorts. I recalled the noise of something dropping in the drawer when I opened the SD plastic thingy. I checked the card, and it seemed to have a wide gap in its lower end… Aha! Thought: something was brewing in my mind… and I then reclaimed a memory from years ago. I felt the old SDs needed a tiny one sticking in it; I was getting surer of this. When Ejaz had finished on his mobile, he came to have a look at the card and camera. So I went into the kitchen and had a deeper look in the drawer. I emptied out the things, and eventually found a miniature plastic sort of SD card in there. I returned to the Kodak-Tim-2, and sure enough, the mini card fitted into the bottom of the main one. Getting excited now! I inserted them and, low & behold, the SD card didn’t need formatting, and it worked! I wondered, surely it must be a few-year-old card that needs two pieces?
Ejaz left, and I went to close the kitchenette drawer, and Nizra had put the food away anyway, bless him. So I searched around and took a photograph, just to show off,
Carer Mizra did the late call. He issued the painkillers, but no morphine tablets were left. I bet you, I’ll suffer in the morning. (I did too!) I was beginning to get tired from the rushed walking I’d done, and Fractured-Knee-Frank was kicking in. Mizra did not need to do the meal; I told him I’d got it all planned. He did spread some cheese & no-butter butter sarnies for me, before departing. Bless him. Bade him farewell and thanked him for today’s help. Then got an inspiration to get some Hoovering done.
I emptied the box and put the Hoover on the recliner… I’d gone again.
Compared to the morning’s episodes, this was nothing, but it seemed so at the time.
WEIRD! I seemed to have been transported, without any knowledge about it, eerie! To the wetroom, and I was sitting on the toilet with all my gear on. Finding a packet of crisps that had been burst open in my dressing gown pocket? But no crumbs on the wet room floor or my clothes? I genuinely struggled to grasp what was going on. I did not panic, although I was confused.
After a few minutes of trying and failing to know how or why, I was sitting here, as I gently stood up, there was no upsurge of agic reflux, so I don’t think I had a seizure. Then I saw that I’d taken three walking sticks into the wet room with me. Four-Pronged Walter & Willy, and Wooden Stick Stephan. How, why…
Then I had a sense that I might have been wandering around and left a tap running or the stove on, so I returned two sticks to the main room and checked the kitchen. All looked fine. Then I hobbled along the mini hallway to the door, and all seemed the same. As I was on my way back… Unbelievable, the vacuum was there in the hallway on charge?
I went to the bed where I thought I’d left it, all looked usual in the main room, apart from the computer, which had been turned off. Had I been hallucinating? I eventually became aware that I felt zonked out, intoxicated. I still managed to make a meal; the bread that Mizra had spread for me was quite hard. Had I

Inchie: Friday 10th April 2026
A quick intro to explain the reason for the poor quality of this blog. I realise that my thousands of followers may be a little disappointed. But I felt I should inform and apologise to both of them for the reason of the crap, shortness of explanations & quality.
Not in the case of the Whoopsiedangles & Axifaupas, of course; they will get my full attention, even if scribbling about them brings back the frustrations and embarrassments and introduces some acrasia. Hence, I wish to tell of these bits, well, many events, possibly in a desarcinate manner.

I woke up around 06:30hrs, reluctantly. The only real pain givers of the morning were Fractured-Knee-Frank, Fractured-Ribs-Robert, & Shaking Shoulder Shirley. For handicapping, it was undoubtedly Cararact Cathleen & Glaucoma Gladys. Later in the day… I leave that there.
Made a brew. Hoovered the place, and decided to try and get on with this blog. Waste of time, I’m never going to get it done today. I might stand a chance to get some done now, and then again at night. I started at 18:00 hrs on Saturday.
In twenty minutes, I had to utilise the Porcelain Throne twice, both identical in nature. Hehe! Trostsky Terence Torrents! Google took 3 times to load, then I had to
Medication were given, and the Shaking-Shoulder-Shirley and Fractured-Knee-Frank. Then went on his mobile for nine minutes. I mopped the kitchen floor in the meantime. A delivery arrived from Iceland. It contains only items that I couldn’t buy anywhere else. Rachid put the items into carriers and put them in the kitchen. He asked if I wanted them put on the counters. Kind of him, but have you seen how much I have not got in the kitchenette? Haha! Said our farewells.
This is when things went Whoopsiedangleplop Style.
I’ll show you this photo taken by Rashid on his next call, after he’d medicated my right cheek and the top
My head was in the fridge, moving things about to make room to rotate with the new stuff…
With my head almost in the fridge, I heard a Hell of a crack as the glass tray burst, sending food into the bottom of the fridge, knocking bottles and other foodstuffs all over, including the kitchen floor! I admit I
I could not fully close the top door, and glass fragments covered 80% of the floor. My first instinct was to get help; there was no way I could get away with all that bending, and I could not find the brush and dustpan, unbelievable! I called the flats’ Warden, but there was no answer; she may have been on holiday. Ashamedly, I phoned Angel Jenny. Who took charge from a distance; she told me not to go into the kitchen, and she would be up shortly. And Jenny can’t stand for very long because of her bad back. She arrived and investigated the situation. I thought I’d checked for anything stopping the door from closing. Jenny had to keep stopping to sit down. I felt a little helpless and guilty at the pain she was going through for me.
She even fetched her brush and dustpan to get what glass up she could. No wonder I love her and call her My-Angel. She is! Jenny even got the fridge door to close, and it is working okay. I got the food sorted. A lot
I got lots of bits of glass stuck to the bottom of my slippers. And was finding glass for ages, until Carer Rashid arrived. He found many more. When he left, I took the electric shaver
But could I get them back together? No! When Carer Rasid returned and set about getting the razor back together with me. It took us a long time to work out which way the plastic insert cover should go. But Rachid sorted it.
Before leaving, he put the cream on the photo above on my cheek and head. It was the first time I noticed it when I went for a shave and brushed my teeth.
Ejaz did the next call. The medications were issued, and he checked the kitchen and found even more bits of the glass on the kitchenette floor. Still no work done on this blog, although I did manage to get the blog’s Ode. done, before getting something to eat.
Here are the photographs taken after the calamity, the afternoon after the calamity,
approximately 18:00hrs to 21:00hrs. The last one during Carer Mizra’s late call. HE issued painkillers and reminded me to be ready early for tomorrow’s shopping trip to Sherwood.
I shall make sure I am. Oh, a touch of confidence?

Inchie: Tuesday, 7th April 2026
The left ribs were still giving me far too much bother when I bent, stretched, and, as for sneezing or coughing, 50% worse. But I don’t like to complain. Luckily for me, Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirely was much calmer. And Back-Pain-Brenda was almost absent, to start with. She came on at the usual time, which was around 17:00hrs.
The need for the Porcelain Throne arrived. So, off to the wet room.
Where all the wind came from, I do not know. I wouldn’t be overly surprised if one of my neighbours complains later on. I may ask the Nottingham City Council to check the flat’s foundations. Hehehe!
Carer Rashid arrived. As I went into the room he was in, he moved to another, with his mobile in hand. It was funny at the time. I asked him, I think, on his second visit, to help me wash my feet and change my socks, which the lad did. He checked my legs and barrier-creamed the scars. He Porpain gelled Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirely, no need for any attention on being-kind Back-Pain-Brenda.
Getting Google to start so I could get on blogging took over ten minutes of going through all the opening
Well, if it won’t load, I can’t shut it down without powering it off, which may gun the works up,
Still, you don’t like to complain, do yer? Spit!
This will need
Annoyingly, CorelDraw froze, and I had to reload it again, losing a good bit of work I’d done. I took another snap of it as it restarted.
Great, no mess to clean up!
Carer Mizra took the laundry down, ringing Jenny as she asked us to, and got the washer going. Frank later brought up the washing for me. Jenny had folded them nicely, and Frank brought them up for me.
Today, I was wearing a black Kagoule. Frank followed up on last week’s quip when I had the brown one on, “You look like Friar Tuck”, with “You look like the Sheikh of Aliba!” Hehehe! I love his quips.
Ejaz made his only visit of the day. Medicated he, Phorpain-Gelled, the shoulder. The lad was not his usual self. I asked if all was well
This forecast from him is distinct in detail in parts of his multiple messages.
The gullible will see renewed hope for peace in the world. Temporarily.
The next stage of humankind’s insanity will be revealed within 48 hours.
Hopes will be replaced with fear, combined with the knowledge that nothing can be done to save humankind, for without a planet, we cannot survive.
# Oligarges can escape into space but will not survive for long as oxygen, fuel and food are depleted.
Many will commit suicide, depressed that there are no proletariats left to rob, kill, overcharge and manipulate.
# Alright, I made that one up to cheer us all up.
