Wed 9 Sept15: Inchcock Today – Whoopsiedangleplop once again, Tsk!

Wednesday 9th September 2015

01top

Woke up at 0410hrs in the chair where I fell asleep last night while watching TV.

Think I had some amazing dreams, but nothing concrete could be recalled – just a feeling of frustration?

WC’d, made a cuppa and cleared up the food wrappers at the side of the chair – Tsk!

Took me medications and cleaned up bleeding ‘Little Inchy’.

Laptop on and yesterdays dairy done and posted, started this one off.

Did some graphic work, Facebooked a while and then got on with trying to sort one of the dozen of giant bags that need sorting. Got me trays I bought to see if they fit into me 1967 cabinet etc.

Decided to get a bath and pretty myself up and hope I feel a bit better.

Had a super-soak, got me bus-pass, the Panasonic Lumix with the view-finder camera etc ready for me mission.

That was to go into Arnold and see if the shops there had any jackets with plenty of pockets in them. Then get some photographicalisationing done in the Nottingham Arboretum. Then see if the shops in town had any jackets with plenty of pockets in them.

Had a natter with some other residents at the bus-stop, then caught the bus into Arnold. (Oh that pensioners free-bus-pass is so appreciated! I wondered if Duncan had used his yet?) No jackets suitable in those shops, so caught a bus into town.

Dropped off on Mansfield Road and walked through the Arboretum. Some humans in the grounds but I didn’t see any animals to photograph on me way through and down to the pond come lake.

But there, were my favourites there – pigeons and mallard ducks, although not many mallards today.

Got me seed and fed them and took some photographs as they jostled to get theirs first.

I think that it’s amazing how mallards and pigeons get along, even when food is on offer, without squabbling with each other.

There were a lot of young ducks in the pond this afternoon.

I walked on down to the West gate entrance/exit and onto Waverley Street.

As I approached the gates I noticed a bee was jumping from one flower to another to get some nectar I assume.

He only stayed on each yellow flower head for a few seconds before he was off to another, he really was a busy-bee! Haha!

I tried several times to catch him with the camera. Later when I got back to the  house and laptop and downloaded the pictures from the card – only one of the shots I took came out decent.

As I walked into town there were several Nottingham pavement Cyclists as usual – this one was on the pavement despite there being a cycle lane on the road? Ignoramus!

Up the hill and down into the City Centre.

They had some Foreign food stalls in the slab-square again.

A German BBQ stall that only had sausages on offer, the usual Indian, Chinese and a Spanish stall amongst the non-food ones.

I walked down Wheeler Gate and called in two stores in search of a suitable coat, but neither had any in.

Came out of the second store and sneaked some seed to the pigeons.

Walked back up and into Primark in case they had some jackets suitable – of course they didn’t.

I was after one of those sleeveless ones with no end of pockets all over them.

Caught the L9 back to the flats – and I reckon I must have nodded off on the bus five or six times, and was lucky in waking when I did not to miss me stop! Huh! It doesn’t seem to happen so often on the diesel buses, but almost every-time I go on one of these electric powered ones in the afternoons. Wonder why?

Got in the flat and got me nosh cooking. I purposely made a little less this time as part of me new determination to lose some of the weight I’ve added to me belly since moving into this flat and getting a cooker.

Laptop on and updated this diary while it was cooking – had to nip to the WC and when I opened the door – the heat that hit me was lovely – I’d left the wall heater on from when I got out of the bath earlier. Made me realise how cold it was in the rest of the flat.

Got me nosh, cleverly put it in a smaller dish to fool myself into thinking I was eating me usual dollop like.

Boiled spuds, cubed spuds, tomatoes, roast parsnips, carrots onions gravy and braised beef. The roast parsnips were delectable!

Followed by a lemon yoghurt and Fromage Frais, no crisps to follow and no chocolate or biscuits either… yet!

 OH DEAR OH DEAR!

After eating I started to clean the pots and kitchen like…

As the point of the knife stuck in me finger…

I whipped me hand out of the bowl sharpish…

Stepped back and fell over the rubbish bin. Luckily as I went down only the side of me head hit the counter.

I got up okay though… swore and then saw that the tiny wee cut on me finger could only be located with great difficulty, it is that minute! Tsk and Humph!

The bruise on me head is coming up nicely though.

Got me INR Warfarin Blood level results in the post. 4.7, very high, that means it is too thin, so less chance of having a blood-clot but more chance of bleeding to death – Hey-ho.

Rubbed some cream on me lump on me head, Cortisoided ‘Little Inchy’ and took me medications. Took extra antacid for me ulcer and stomach.

Noises coming from somewhere now, but can’t pinpoint em or work out what is making them? Sounds like crumbling concrete to me… oh, it’s stopped.

Couldn’t get to sleep – turned on the telly and listened through the headphones. Tried to nod off again… Read some of me book. Tried to get to sleep again, kept waking up regularly. I think it must have been around 0300hrs when I finally got off.

Woke up around 0530hrs. Humph!

Sun 23 Aug 2015: Inchcock Today: Duncans Visitation

Sunday 23rd August 2015

Wonderful view this morning

0405hrs: Woke up with severe stomach pains again, laid there and some memories of the dreams remained: People who I’d know in the past where interrogating me about something, and they kept passing me into other bare rooms with a chair, desk and a pair of binoculars hanging on a mannequin of a laughing policeman? In each room someone rollocked me about something… Lost in a building, got to the roof, jumped off, changed me mind too late and as I dropped Lords of the manor types started to shoot at me with the shotguns, I noted they had poodles as gun dogs?

That’s all I recall.

Got up painfully (Knees and angina) and managed to get into the bathroom – where I really struggled to perform my excavations duties – it was agony – took an hour plus and I bled profusely afterwards. A most uncomfortable feeling remained in my innards after for ages.

Gingerly went and made a cup of tea to take me medications with, and wondered if the Beetroot and Apple bread I had late yesterday had caused the intestinal problems this morning? But last time I had some there was no reactions like this?

I’d saved half the Beetroot bread and wrapped it up in foil to help keep it fresh for Dunc to try when he called today – not sure if I ought to feed him that now.

No signs of the warned-about rains yet.

Set about doing some Facebooking while I had the chance and was in the mood.

I was a bit cheerfulish cause of Dunc coming to see me like.

Went to get a shave wash and ready for Dunc’s arrival. I didn’t really mean to stub me toe on the way out of the kitchen on me new storage boxes and knock off me 36 medication box’s onto the floor so they now all have to washed again – and I kept the curses to low decibel level. Huh!

All freshened up I went to put me hearing-aids in to go and meet Dunc as he arrived… could I find them? No! Spent ages and ages searching and slowly going bonkers!

Eventually went down and met Dunc who had very kindly brought me a really useful computer desk and chair. It’s also dead handy for having a nosh off of. So kind of him, what a man… but I was guilt ridden with not being able to concentrate on  anything properly cause I was panicking about me hearing aids and the thought of £4000 to replace them I couldn’t tell half of what he was saying either.

We got upstairs and in between my nipping off every few minutes to search somewhere I’d already searched for the hearing-aids, I made us a cuppa and we and a chin-wag.

He showed me some photographs of the isle in Scotland where was born and lived, I’ve never seen such beautiful land before.

Dunc’ started to assemble the clothes-racks, while I guiltily kept nipping off for a failed search for the aids. After he’s finished the first one I joined him in pretending to help him with the second one.

The third one was the killer… between us we managed to reach a level of pathetic competency and after erecting the tubes into a frame, struggled with the  canvas for hours until Dunc realised we should have threaded the first tubes through the canvas… I was so thankful for all his help, as I now have two clothe-horses I can use, and would never have got them assembled on me own.

A very weary and tired Duncan returned home, and I guiltily thanked him and returned to the flat to search yet again for the hearing-aids.

Nosh, eaten at the table and chair kindly supplied by Sir Duncan Roberson

I got me nosh on, boiled new spuds, mini sausages, apple, fresh pod peas and beetroot, with caramelised red onion relish – followed by lemon and Cornish clotted cream.

I think I would have enjoyed it so much more if was not nipping off to search places I must have searched two or three times already for me haring-aids while eating it.

Finished me main course and was about to start on me lemon and cream and a thought came over me puddled brain – ‘Did I scoop up me hearing-aids with the paperwork earlier this morning when clearing the window ledge in readiness or me doing the checking out of the turn switch so I could clean them – then forgot about? (Bit of a mouthful there, sorry). I went into the bedroom where I stashed the stuff and found the carrier bag – OH THE JOY when I found them!

I went back and finished the lemon and Cornish clotted-cream, suddenly it tasty such a lot better.

A cuppa and took me medications, emailed Dunc’ with thanks and told him I’d found the hearing-aids.

Bet he thinks I’m a right plonka – mind you, I am!

Tue 18th Aug: Inchcock Today: So busy, but he loved his Beetroot and apple bloomer!

Tuesday 18th August 2015

0215hrs: Woke, again with feelings of uncertainty and definite uneasiness? And the almost familiar warm wet sensations – to the WC to find haemorrhoids and Little Inchy both bleeding. Reflux valve sticking again, cough still with me, hands not too bad, but the knees were thanks to Arthur Itis, I was shaking a bit for some reason? Mainly a sensation of lugubriousness prevailed.

Made a cuppa, laptop on and finished yesterdays diary, then started this one… as me Dad used to say, I felt all Hairy Fairy!

Feeling down a tad this morning.

Did some Facebooking and graphicalisationing on Coreldraw.

Me back twinging away at me, the angina playing up, bleeding ‘Little inch’, bleeding haemorrhoids, coughing again! Huh!

Took a photo from Kitchen window when it was raining heavy – but was surprised at how it didn’t show up in the picture like?

Started grafting away to sort a cupboard or two out in t’kitchen – couldn’t gerrum finished until I get me storage boxes delivered tomorrow.

Then started doing loads of shredding and took bags to the rubbish chute.

Move some stuff from the kitchen into the bedroom where there is more room – not having a bed yet like. Tsk!

Still looks a right mess all round, but when I get me storage bins delivered tomorrow I can make a difference surely.

Got some photo frames out of one of the carrier bags and cleaned them up.

Downloaded Windows 10 while I was doing these jobs.

Tried it out, the layout is an improvement – but trying to get it to access me extra drive got me in a mess – fancy that. Sorted it later, when your in file access to load or import into wot yer working on, yer can right-click on any item and press pin-to -quick-access bar, and it’s great for gerrin’ things easily afterwards – mind you I made a mess of it and had to right-button and move the different types of things to group em together in the access bar, but it was easy.

And on the bar at the bottom of the your desk-top, when you have a programme or add-on in use, it underlines the icon. I like what I’ve seen so far on this Windows 10 – other than not being able to get a clear background on the desktop.

When I cleaned the bathroom the back pains started again.

Had a cuppa after giving getting used to Windows 10 for a bit, in a fashion, updated this diary and decided although a bit late and raining still, I’d have a walk into Sherwood through Woodthorpe Park to see if the Charity shops had any desks in, and drop off some stuff for the Nottingham Hospice charity shop at the same time.

Back in a bit…

Hobbled into Sherwood, dropped off the Nottingham Hospice donation bag, then walked down and across the pelican crossing and into the Sue Ryder charity shop. They didn’t have any more Ottomans in stock, but some were on order. Good, I hope by the time I get back they are not all sold, the lady told me they could not save them for me – fair enough I can understand that.

They had an old sideboard that looked just the ticket fer me, and it wasn’t sold either, so I invested £65 for it.

And also an old wooden Video case that opens wide for £10 that would come in handy for me storing things I don’t need often in. And then an extendable duster fro £4.99 that will be very helpful. With the delivery it was £100.01, and they could deliver it tomorrow, which is handy, cause I’ve got the TV and storage box’s coming tomorrow as well.

I was going to photograph them to put on here but I’d again left me card in the laptop.

The only worry is if they can get it into the flat and front room – is there enough space for em? After getting back and having a look, I think it will be tight? Oh dear! I’m not bothered about anyone saying how old the furniture looks – it is old, so am I, but I like the functionality of old furniture. Anyway, only Duncan Robertson (Who supplied me with the swivel chair that I take my life in me hands with when I fall asleep in it – Hehe, only joking Dunc… I think? Hehe!) has been to see me in the new flat. I am so looking forward to him coming again all being well this Sunday for a visit. Also, Lynton Cox might be coming in September, I’d really like to have at least the front room and kitchen sorted when he arrives , but the chances are like me, slim.

I popped into the Cancer charity shop just to see if they had owt in that would be of use to me.

They had some nice tea-pots, but with limited space for storage in the kitchen I decided not to invest – they usual leak anyway for me. A lady (Not one of the staff) was telling off a young couple who were moaning about the prices and told them they were lucky not to have cancer themselves and in need of help.

Hit home that did, here’s me having had bowel cancer, blood cancer and now skin cancer, and knowing how hard, nay, impossible it is to get help. Hey-ho, I’m still such a lot better off than some I can tell yer.

Gorgeous!

I walked up the hill and called in the Co-op store to have a look at their bread on offer – Yippee!, guess what I found – not cheap mind… “Beetroot and apple bloomer bread!”

Decided to have it with some strong cheese and the last of me tomatoes tonight, perhaps with some Caramelised red onion chutney? By gum I know how to live. Hehe! with my shortage of funds and having to spend on furniture and a bed yet… I did feel guilty!

I popped into the hardware shop and bought a bottle of Antiseptic disinfectant 50p and a plastic bowl £2 to replace the one I shattered trying to scrub off the sticky label on it – Huh!

Started to walk back up the hill to go through the park – and noticed on the bus-stop sign the last L8 bus was due in 12 minutes, so I waited and caught that.

When I got in the flat and emptied me bag –  The extendible duster was nowhere to be seen – Curse! Had I left it on the bus, or at the Sue Ryder Charity shop? I may well never know! So sad innit?

Now depression took a hold of me to join the aching feet, knees and Anne Gyna’s attentions.

I wanted to clear the hallway of clothes and make it easier for the delivery man to get to the front room tomorrow, but felt well drained again suddenly – and i had not finished cleaning the cupboard ready for restocking either, just too weary. This is happening regularly recently.

Me INR level tests results arrived – 3.8, closest its been for ages. And with me ‘Little Inch’ and the haemorrhoids bleeding I’m amazed its so good.

Got the laptop started with it’s new Windows 10 now working. It takes a lot longer to boot-up now, but the easier lay-out of things is nice. It automatically changed the icons on the bottom of the screen, they are easier to see now, but the volume controls have disappeared – still I can use Fn and the up or down arrows for that.

Made me sandwiches of Beetroot and apple bread and pork loin with strong cheese, tomatoes and the Chutney

Blooming smashing!

Marvellous!

So tasty!

Rated this 8.75/10.

Flaked out after eating me nosh – with so much more to do as well. Poor Whoopsiedangleplop ridden old chap…
