Inchcock Today – Thursday 6th July 2017: Winwood Tenants Social Hour Meeting

Thursday 6th July 2017

Russian: Четверг, 6 июля 2017 года

Jumped awake at 0100hrs – Struggled out of the £300 second-hand recliner and off for a wee-wee. Overall, another good morning health wise I thought. Anne Gyna was being a bit nasty with me and Roger Reflux too. But Arthur Itis, Duodenal Donald, Steven Shakes, Harry Hernia and Dizzy Dennis were all in a good mood and kind to me.

Got the laundry things ready and went down to the laundry room and got them in the machine. New notice on the board:

It was from Jenny, the flats coordinator, a former Woodthorpe Obergruppenfurheress Warden and tenant.

Back up to the apartment and got the kettle on, took the morning medications, A little early I realised after taking them. But I had taken the doses early last night.

Computer turned on and began updating the Wednesday Diary.

Very warm and close this beautiful morning.

Soon time to go down and move the washing into the dryer.

Popped outside, to take this shot (I still want to know what all these triple poles are going to be used for? Hehe!), luckily I’d remembered to take the foyer door swipe with me so I could gain entry back into the compound. Phew!

Up again, both of the lifts now working again.

Had a wee-wee and put on the kettle. Did the health checks.

Did the health checks, and very nearly, retook the medications! What a clot I am!

The pulse was 99, but I expect this is because I had been up and down the lift with the washing. When I took the photo of the machine and doctored it in Vinette, the pulse reading with the flash reflection looked like it was 299. So I doctored the 99 in the photo to make it clearer. Hehe, got me going for a second or two. I did notice that the pulse had been a bit erratic this week all through, though. The weight had gone down mind. First time for a while.

Did some more updating on the diary. Got it finished and posted off. It was time to go and collect the laundry again.

All folded neatly, cleaned the machines and filter. Lifted the bag and the handle came off!

Lifted the bag and the handle came off!

Picked up the clothing and shook the dust off of them and replaced them with the bag. Passed some wind, and hastily made my up to the flat, while fumbling to carry the bag, and the Porcelain Throne. The lifts have never seemed slower! Haha!

I made it in time, but only just. Haemorrhoid Harold had been bleeding since my last visit 3 hours or so ago. Cleaned things up and applied the medication cream. Wiped around, scrubbed my hands and out and back on the computer and started this Inchcock Today, off.

Went to make a cuppa, and saw that I’d forgotten about the bag of laundry I’d dropped as I got through the door in my haste to get to the wetroom. So I put away the stuff in the airing cupboard.

Looking a bit blue out there?

Checked the Emails and did some WordPress reading.

Facebooking next.

Had a wee-wee.

0536hrs: Started a TFZer graphics. Got these two done, both in monochrome style, and made look like an old photograph, best as I could.

Janet and Jillie in London, with Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson.

Thomas, in the old Nottingham Victoria Station, with a diesel and Steam locomotives.

Hope they like them.

Had a wee-wee, made a mug of tea and watched a video on YouTube before having to get the ablutions done in time for the Tenants Social Hour in the new temporary hut.

A good few resident there when I arrived at the new temporary shelter/shed. I was going to take a photo of it, but I’d forgot to take the camera with me. Huh!

Some of the girls seemed happy to see me. A bit of a job finding a chair to sit on, and had to sit next to a Winchester tenant chap who took up all the available moving room to and from the seat I had to use. Fair enough, the man had a stick with him and was rather well-endowed stomach-wise, very big, covered in tattoos and not very sociable.  So I did not bother him and asked others to let me in and out each time I needed to move, which was often.

Got up to put the raffle prizes on the table. Chinwag with some of the ladies and back to get the nibble bag. Had to get around the man again to distribute the nibbles above.

Then back, via the spread-eagled bloke to the chair and I had half a cup of tea and natter with Bill (William on Sundays).

Then I required a wee-wee, poor old Frank had to move again to let me through to the WC. The tall chap didn’t even seem to know the bother and hassle he was causing by sprawling out so far away from the table, bless him.

I asked a representative of the work team who was doing the upgrade, and he told me the poles dug into the grass, concrete paths and road all over the place, were to build security fences, for when the expensive plant machinery moves into the compound. I know now. Hehe!

Got some raffle tickets and had to fight my past the chap again to give them out to some ladies. Jenny was looking good. One last exertion to get through the chairs and I called it a day, it was encouraging too much hassle from Arthur Itis with the tall, rotund gentleman not moving at all. I thought perhaps he couldn’t. But he didn’t speak or answer me when I inquired how he was keeping. He only talked to a woman opposite him, and Jenny?  I offered a cheerful cheerio to the folks and left early to get back to number 72 and another wee-wee.

The Anticoagulation Record had arrived while I was out at the Hut.

Down to 2.8 this time. For some reason, the DVT is having a heck of a job getting the INR level up, although I thought 2.8 was not too bad at all, very close to the target figure. But they had increased the dosages anyway. But I must not turn into a vaticinator.

I made an Email for the Sherrington Park Surgery requesting an appointment as instructed for Wednesday 12th July as early as possible for the next INR blood test. I added the photograph I took of the Anticoagulation Records details, like a subtle sarcastic reminder that they have not sent me an Email with the changed dosages. I don’t suppose they will be interested really, though.

Took the midday medications and did the Health Checks.

Looking far more like okay, now I think compared to earlier.

Although the temperature seems to have dropped dramatically, from 36.1 (High?) to 31.9 (?)

Had a wee-wee. Into the kitchen for a brew of tea and notice outside down below in the bottom field near the Copse, was a gal with her two dogs playing ‘fetch-the-ball’… Well, I say two dogs. I had a real laugh watching them perform, I must say. The lighter coloured brown dog would race away and retrieve the ball, with the black running so far with him, then about half way to wherever the ball landed, he’d wait for the other dog to get it and run back to the girl with it and join in with him then. In the end, after twenty or so ‘Fetches’ like this, the black dog just laid down and rolled in the grass when his Mistress threw the ball for the other one to retrieve.

I was laughing out loud at the black dog’s antics. Hehehe! Loved watching them.

No rain at all today yet. It did say on the radio, some areas will get none, and others a ‘Yellow Warning’ storm?

A quick look at the news for Nottingham.

Apparently, this was Castle Boulevard twenty minutes ago.

This is how it looked from the kitchen window here, just over ten minutes ago.

A bit of difference then, I see?

Hehe!

Rechecked the Emails to see of any from the surgery had arrived. As I opened Gmail, it came through, from the surgery. I wrote in the paper diary and onto the Google Calendar. Wednesday 12th @ 1022hrs sent an Email back to them thanking them and confirming I could attend. A fair number of WordPress Emails, so I answered/responded to them.

Feeling well drained now, after another silly hour start to the day. Tsk!

Going to have something easy to make I thought. After which I decided on tomatoes and bacon… tonnes of bacon! Hehe! Then I realised I’d not got much bread in stock, so had a rethink. Gorrit, potatoes and bacon with some sweet curried baked beans?

Did the evening Health Checks.

Had a quick bash on Facebooking, then a wee-wee.

Had a wee-wee.

Got the bacon in the oven and watched a 15-minute video on YouTube while it cooked.

Anne Gyna and Reflux Roger both eased off – Nice!

Sister Jane rang as I went into the kitchen to check on the food. I’m overeating, and the wrong foods again and that is why I must cut down on bread and potatoes. She worries about me, blesses her cotton socks. Hardly dare print the photo of tonight’s meal. Hehe!

Got the fodder served up, and a great one it was too, taste-wise.

After I washed the pots and got down in the £300 second-hand recliner to watch a DVD before Hetty Wainthrope started on the TV, Shaking Steven paid me a visit. Not good, but at least I was settled and had nothing in my hands at the time. So, no Accifauxpa or Whoopsiedangleplop! Good that!

CorelDraw back on for a while. I updated this one below. Not easy with the fingers doing their own thing. Hehe!

Gave up after a while and got the head down – off I went into the land of nod within minutes.

TTFN all.

Inchcock Today – Wednesday 5th July 2017

Wednesday 5th July 2017

Maori: Wenerei 5 Hōngongoi 2017

Kept waking up and nodding off again for an hour or so, so drained after yesterday’s exertions and hassle.

Rose up for a Porcelain Throne visit around 0600hrs. (If I had not wanted the Throne visit I might still be in th recliner, so weary. Haha!) Tired, yes. But Anne Gyna, Duodenal Donald, Arthur Itis, Hernia Harry, Reflux Roger, Shaking Steven and Dizzy Dennis were all being kind to me at that moment. It felt odd, wrong somehow. If you know what I mean? Only Haemorrhoid Harold was any bother. My EQ tells me this will not last, and something not nice is due later in the day. Huh!

Had a wee-wee.Then did the Health Checking routine.

Then did the Health Checking routine. The temp was 33.8 and the weight was a staggering 14.94. Oh dearie me!

Got the nibbles into the bag for the INR blood test nurse this afternoon.

Email sorting next, a lot get through this morning.

WordPress reading and then onto Facebook to catch up again.

Had a wee-wee, then got some potatoes on the slow boil to have later when I get back from the surgery.

Carried on with Facebooking for an hour more or so.

Had a wee-wee, made a mug of tea and watched a YouTube about car crashes.

Ablutions carried out, midday medications and Health Checks done.

Collected the bag and off on a walk into Carrington and the INR blood test.

Out and to the end of the road then right down the hill and left and up the Mansfield Road hill and down into Carrington.

Strangely quiet on the roads this morning.

Got to the surgery, signed in, took a seat. I was the only patient in there?

Nurse Nichole collected me and into the blood room. We had a chat while she took my blood. I mentioned that I’d sat down with the sample bottle and broken it, and she said she’d get me another, which she did bless her sumptuous thighs.

I was certain there was something else I wanted to ask her about, but could not remember what it was. Huh!

Gave her her box of chocolates, bid farewell and off a trotted out and to the paper shop in Carrington. Got a packet of four highlighter pens. I’ve got these to use on my written diary to indicate the different task that I record in advance.

Down to the Chemists and inquired of the date for my prescription collection. The young lady checked and informed me it was next Monday, 10th July. I wrote this down on the inside cover of the crossword book, to record on the paper diary and Google Calendar later. (I remembered to at well. Smug mode adopted!)

Down and into the Lidl store. Got some wholemeal bread thins, meat slices and mint nibbles for myself.

Out to the bus stop and caught a bus back up into Sherwood. Lots of time before the L9 bus arrived, so I wandered around a bit. Called in Wilko and got some Y-lang fragrance boost and softener and Surf capsules (Lemon scented) for the laundry.

Called in the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop but did not get anything.

To the bus stop.

The traffic had increased, but no L9 bus arrived yet.

The L9 was due at 25 minutes past the hour, but by 30 minutes passed, had not come, and a number 40 bus did, so I got on that one. I lot further to walk when using this bus, but I was not sure if the L9 was going to arrive or not. They often fail to turn up.

Naughty Nottingham Pavement Cyclists lingered everywhere I looked in Sherwood.

Dropped off the bus on Winchester Hill and started the ascent up to the flats. The feet were stinging, Arthur Itis and Anne Gyna both kicked off.

Turned left onto Chestnut Walk, as the oh-so-late inbound L9 bus passed me. The outbound was at the new bus stop in front of this bus.

Note the bus stop could not be further away from Woodthorpe Court and is situated right next to Winchester Court. Doesn’t bother me though!

In the flat and had a wee-wee.

Got the meal cooking and put the bits away. Amended the written diary with the new reminders.

Had a wee-wee. I’ve just remembered what I was was going to tell the nurse about… Humph!

Did the evening Health Checks.

Got the fodder prepared and served up.

Roasted strong cheddar cheese, boiled potatoes, beetroots, ready-cooked crispy streaky bacon, garden peas and two, not eatable boiled, pickled eggs and minced beef and gravy in shortcrust pastry. Lemon Fool to follow.

What was wrong with the eggs I have no idea. They were foul (Bit of wit and wordplay here folks). Despite this, the rest of the meal deserved an 8.8/10 rating.

Took the medications and checked the TV magazine and found that Hetty Wainthrope was on at 2000hrs, that was all I was interested in.

Watched some Dr Who series one episode between nodding off now and then and rewinding. At 2000hrs I put the TV on to watch Hetty… It was not on! Checked the listings… and found I’d looked at tomorrow’s page. Humph!

No chance of staying awake after this, soon off in the land of nod proper, until 0100hrs when I sprang awake full of vim?

Inchcock Today – Tuesday 4th July 2017: Early Whoopsiedangleplops, Hearing aids go over double in original price, Accifauxpas rampant and such along day, poor old Inchcock confused and a bumbling wreck now! Hehe!

Tuesday 4th July 2017

Napali: मंगलवार 4 जुलाई 2017

Best Wishes to all my TFZers Friends in the USA!

0400hrs: Woke with no memories of the dreams I was certain I’d been having – then the urgent call came for a visit to the Porcelain Throne.

Things went well, other than Haemorrhoid Harold bleeding a lot, but soon stopped him with applying some of the antiseptic cream. Stung a bit mind!

Searched for the Anticoagulation Card again. No luck. Danged thing is somewhere cause I found it the other day… Tsk!

I did come across an old photo booth picture though.

Ah, memories! Haha!

Just look at that smug face on me! Humph! I didn’t know what was coming years later, did I?

Did the Health Checks, all over the place this morning they were.

Had a wee-wee.

Made a mug of tea and took the morning medications.

The computer on and finished the Monday Diary and got it posted.

Back to the Porcelain Throne – nearly had an Accifauxpa with the loose-fitting seat again!

Many Emails to sort out. Then got a bit of Facebooking done.

Had a wee-wee.

Tended to the ablutions. Turned out a bit of an unexpected farce this session. Having the clean-up early, I did not use the shower, for fear of bothering or disturbing any of my neighbours.

  • Doing the teggies, I cut my gum.
  • Dropped the razor and trod on it.
  • Knocked the bottle of antiseptic over and it broke!
  • Banged my head on the corner of the sink as I bent down to retrieve it.
  • Went to get another bottle and stubbed my toe on the mop bucket (Again!)

Not the best of starts to the day. Tsk!

Got dressed and all the things ready, remembered to take the food for the ducks and birds at the Nottingham Arboretum.

On the way out, I took the other bag of lamb in mint & Rosemary Gravy and rang my neighbour Josie’s door bell. The lovely woman she is. She was in and answered the door, and I explained about the lamb gravy being far too sweet for me, gave her part of the original packet I’d cut out of the box, with the instructions and a sell-by date on it. Thankfully, she liked the idea, and I handed it over. She offered to pay for it bless her, but I wouldn’t have that.

Down to the foyer and had a chinwag with a bloke for a bit. Others arrived, and we all walked (The now, far greater distance) to the bus stop at the end of the road. Further little gossiping sessions took place. When the bus to town came, and I sat next to the gal on the 11th floor, another nice person and we chatted en route and had a laugh.

Off the bus, it was raining now, only drizzle. I walked through Victoria Centre (Mall) with Mary from the 9th floor. She asked me when she could return the DVDs I gave her to watch. She will call me in the morning. She was on her way to collect some DVDs she had ordered from the store in the centre. I went in with her and asked a member of staff if they had any of the Biederbeck Affair and or Biederbeck Tapes in stock. He had a look and informed me they had not, but I can order a new release of all the series, and he believed they had subtitles on this one. I ordered it, and I have to go back in a week to see if it has arrived.

Out of the mall and along Shakespeare Street passing the college buildings and residences en route to the Arboretum to see the birds at the pond.

Through the gates and was greeted with the relocated bust of Nottingham MP Samuel Morley. (1809 – 1886), Head of I & R Morley in Nottingham.

Samuel Morley was born in 1809, the youngest of John Morley’s three sons.  His father and Uncle Richard founded the family’s knitting business and established its London warehouse and distribution base.

The firm of I & R Morley played a significant role in the knitting industry and by 1844 was responsible for 6% of the sector’s total output.

Fed the ducks and pigeons, had a talk with them and generally enjoyed myself no end. Loved the Mallard and Coot chicks to bits. Despite my getting wet. Hey-ho!

As I walked up the hill towards the tram stop at the corner of Upper Parliament Street, I came across some Nottingham Street Art and vandalisation.

Fire hose dry riser valves outlets damaged, covers broken open and litter, waste and what smelt like urine scattered around inside and out. Humph!

Over the road and down into the Slab Centre Square.

Looking a bit bleak at this moment, and not many folks out and about yet.

Can’t blame them, if I didn’t have to go to the hearing test, I would not have been out – and – I would not have spent a fortune buying the DVDs. Huh, I am a fool!

A CPO (Community Police Officer) meandered by slowly as she crossed over the lights with the ‘Don’t Walk’ red light against her.

Attractive, meaty thighs though.

I hobbled, the foot where I stubbed the toe and trod on the razor earlier was giving me some bother, down to the Hearing Aid place and gave the Obergruppenfurheress on the desk my appointment card. Without looking up at me, she spouted: “The appointment won’t be until 1130hrs because you’ve come early you know!”

I purposely did not answer until she did look at me. “I’ve only come in early to get out of the rain, do you think anyone would actually want to come in here to be spoken to like that, voluntarily?” – Advantage Inchcock! Hehe!

She then became sociable. “Oh is it raining?” – “Yes!”

I wandered to the waiting seats and got the last one available. Took the crossword book out and had a decent session with it.

A young, good looking, educated, good looking, evidently a rich bloke with hair, tall, well spoken and fit looking arrived to take me into a treatment room. Gawd, I was jealous! Only joking, Haha! Introduced himself, Craig his name was and into his cubbyhole.

He explained the procedure for the removal of the compacted ear wax and got me to sign a partial disclaimer in the event of any damage.

He was having great difficulty in getting the wax out of my right ear hole. He got the top layer out without nay hassle, but the layer beneath was proving very hard and stubborn. At one point he thought we might have to do another week of putting olive oil in and try again. I pleaded with the lad to do his bestest, and he did too!

The tool used was like a vacuum cleaner, obviously with a narrow tube. Very noisy in the ear, as Craig had warned me it would be.

He patiently persevered and eventually got the nasty clump put for me.

You can see the size of the compacted lump on the left here.

Wasn’t it a big clump?

Not half! Hehe!

I was so pleased with his efforts.

He then moved onto the other ear, and that one was much easier to clear out, thankfully.

We then went through the options of the aids on offer. The small one that was from the cheaper range proved to be unsuitable when the lad told me the batteries only lasted for two or three hours. Shame that. Then I had to choose one suitable, which meant the price doubled for the next options.

I went for a one piece model. That the batteries should last for a week. At least this will avoid my having to change the tubes when they crack or work loose, cause there are no tubes on it. Fingers crossed anyway.

Then he started to mould the ear pieces, five minutes in each hole alternately and they were ready and moulded.

Then he got me in the hearing box for the test.

That didn’t take long.

The whole thing should have taken about 45 minutes, but I think his getting out the wax from the stubborn right ear channel took far longer than that.

So then, I had to pay for them. That hurt! Still, the batteries are free for three years, a four-year guarantee, and free aftercare… they say.

I left the store a lot less well off, and still have to wait two weeks while they are made and fitted.

Out and the rain had stopped, I went into the M&S food store for perusal, but didn’t buy anything.

Noticed some more Nottingham street art around a waste bin and cigarette disposal box. Not nice to look at.

Then I walked up to Bridle Smith Gate and notice an alleyway and next to it, another empty retail unit. It was last in use as British Heart Foundation Charity Shop.

Made my way to the L9 bus stop and back to the flats.

The lady from the 11th floor got on at the first stop, and we had another good chinwag en route back to the apartments, She even helped me with the crosswords, bless her cotton socks.

A laugh in the lift when we got to the flats, with six of us squashed into the lift together. Oh, the other elevator is working again.

Inside, wee-wee, got the nosh on, Throne visit and onto the computer.

Took me hours to get this diary updated. Well into the nighttime before I got it nearly finished (Up to here) and had to leave it to get some much-needed rest and a nod-off. Of course, I could not get to sleep now I wanted to! Humphski!

Had a wee-wee.

Got the evening Health Checks done. Sys166 – Dia 72 Pulse 83 Temp 32.4

Got the meal served up, and a cracker it was, it made up for my earlier fodder disasters. Sprinkled extra strong cheese on top of the minced beef slices, tinned garden peas, mushrooms, beetroots, a dab of BBQ sauce and Jersey new potatoes. Got some nibbles by the side of the recliner to have a go at later, Marmite Crisps, chocolate brazil nuts (Only two of them, honestly, Hehe) and a bottle of fresh orange juice.

Put the things in the bowl to soak, returned to the chair and decided to try and watch some TV, that must surely send me into the land of nod? And, it did.

Slept for what was about six hours, a lot for me to manage, but it was needed after such a long day for this, now a lot less financially stable old fella. Tsk! I’ll have to leave ordering a table server for the chair for a while now the hearing aids have suddenly doubled in price.

TTFN all.

Inchcock Today – Sunday 2nd July 2017

Sunday 2nd June 2017

Mongolian: 2017 оны 6-р сарын 2-ны ням гарагт

0315hrs: Stirred in the £300 second-hand recliner, annoyed again at not remembering any of the dreams I just know I’d been having. Again, Tsk!

Diahorrea Derek gave me the wink that I needed to attend the Porcelain Throne. Getting disentangled from the recliner reminded me of yesterday when I did so and trod on the remote control for the DVD… I must try it out later to see if it still works, and off I stumbled to the wet room. Felt a bit queasy, if that’s the right work. Made a note to have one of the Strong Morrison’s diarrhorea capsules later.

Put the kettle on to make a brew, and did the Health Checks.

The weight keeps going up, and I got a decent hobble in yesterday?

Made a nice strong mug of tea, passed a silent escapage of wind and returned to the Porcelain Throne in haste. More splattering and squirting that needed cleaning up. Huh! Seems that the ‘Trots’ are back again.

With innards now rumbling and attention being given to me by Reflux Roger, I cleaned things up and returned to the kitchen.

It seemed a bit light for this time in the morning outside. I nipped out onto the balcony to take this photograph. And, I nearly got blown over the railings. The wind was blowing a bit strong. Hehe!

The tea had gone cold, so I made another one and took the mornings medications along with an additional Anit-Trots capsule.

Decided to sort the pots of doses out ready for the week coming.

As I dropped one of the tablets, one of those little Beta-blockers it fell twist the cooker and the cabinet. Getting the thin brush I poked down between and swept it out, guess what came with it? The pea that I had dropped when podding some, days ago and could not find. Hehehe!

Got the pots sorted out and had a wee-wee.

Washed the hands, wiped the contact surfaces with the antiseptic wipes and pondered on what I might have later for the meal. First thoughts were a beef pasty, garden peas and potatoes?

I put some small potatoes in the Crock-Pot and seasoned them with the vegetable stock cubes.

Podded the garden peas and got them into a saucepan and added some demerara sugar so they could both soak in their respective pots to be cooked further in the day.

Shaking Steven was no bother, so I only dropped a few of the peas, and found each one and retrieved them and consigned them to the bin each time.

Had a wee-wee.

Downloaded yesterday’s photographicalisations and resized them and put them in the WordPress gallery ready to use.

Set about updating and posting the Saturday Diary, took me hours to do for some reason?

Had a wee-wee and went into the kitchen to make a brew.

Took these photographic images from out of the window.

Not that I can really blame them, mind. Parking is a nightmare here, with all the works taking place and the garages being pulled down. The chap who moved the cones on the right has a Disabled ticket showing on the windscreen. If all the handicapped spaces are taken, what else can they do? I see another white car has had now parked on the double yellow lines behind the red one. Mayhem! It’s time like these, I don’t mind having had to give up my Driving Licence.

To the Porcelain Throne once more – the seat is coming loose now! Tsk!

Made a mug of tea, and finalised and posted the Saturday one off.

Had a wee-wee.

Emails were done, and answered, WordPress reading done.

Now, I realise I’ve been up for over eight hours now, and feeling a bit drained.

Did the second Health Checks:

Onto Facebooking at last. Caught up.

Pattie of the TFZ fame posted a lovely photograph. I amended it a bit and sent it to her site.

Tried to make it a bit clearer and less dark than her original for her.

Did a bit of work, trying to find a solution for Brother-in-law Pete with his video programme?

Then I amended Dizz’s photo of her new family transport vehicle.

Then back onto CorelDraw to start another TFZ effort or two from scratch.

Dizzy Dennis prevented me pursuing this aim.

Got the meal sorted out.

I enjoyed this one, well pleased with how it came out. A minced beef pocket, BBQ chicken leg, fresh garden peas, beetroots, a few potatoes and some ready made sliced and lightly battered potatoes done in the oven. A 9.35/10!

Settled to watch some heartbeat DVD episodes.

I’ve got all of those I foolishly bought in one go to get through yet. Hope I live long enough to view them. Hehe! Managed to see a few chapters, then had to turn over to the TV so I could watch the  Confederations Cup Final twixt Chile and Germany. I enjoyed it, a competitive match all the way through. The best team did not win, but I wanted Germany to win so no complaints from me.

Nodded off when it finished and thought I had many dreams. The only bit I could recall was one where I was in an underground tunnel escaping from somewhere… the others in there with me and I were all wearing summer shirts or dresses… Someone kept shouting ‘Sangria!’? We could not decide where to start digging up from, and we each had a seaside bucket and spade in hand? That’s all I can remember.

Woke up and had a wee-wee.

Put the TV on and nodded off again before I could make out what was on the screen.

Woke up hours later, around 0350hrs… Had a wee-wee.

Inchcock Today – Friday 30th June 2017

Friday 30th June 2017

Kazakhstan: Жұма, 30 маусым, 2017

0400: Woke and found loads of scribbled note about dreams on the writing pad. None of the readable. Humph! More like wavy lines mixed in with written morse-code.

Up and off to the ProcelainThrone. Haemorrhoid Harold painful and lots of blood, too much. Anne Gyna, Reflux Roger and Duodenal Donald were all in a good mood. No Dizzy Dennis or Shaking Steven visits yet either.

It was looking a bit gloomy outside as I put the kettle on.

Took the medications and did the Health Checks. Sys 159, Dia 75, Pulse 75, Temperature 35.8, Weight up to 14.9!

Had a wee-wee.

Got the computer going and looked at the weather in the USA.

All sorts of weather warning on the map I looked at.

I’m concerned about the TFzers living over there with the thunderstorms and floods warnings.

When you compare the United States to the little UK area, it surprised me.

Started off this diary up to here. Then finalised yesterdays.

The alarm panel now has a yellow light flashing intermittently?

The headers I installed for WordPress, had disappeared. So I looked into the problem and designed new ones in the hope of correcting the problem.

Onto CorelDraw and tried to make it fit.

One page suggested the size in mm and the other in pixels, heck of a job converting them to inches. Huh! Took me ages, then I’m not sure if I got it right.

Had a wee-wee.

Took a break from computerisationing, and got the cleaning cloths and oven gloves washed out. Then realised, or rather thought to myself, how am I going to get the wet oven thingies dried?

Made a weak attempt with the airer and bowls underneath, to prevent any water dripping onto the electrics at the bottom. Must remember to keep changing the position of the cloths and oven mitt regularly.

Got garden peas de-podded and into the saucepan in water and demerara sugar for later.

Had a wee-wee and moved the oven mitts on the airer. Going to take ages this is, Tsk!

Back on the computer.

Found I had not posted the diary for yesterday, so I did so.

Email answering and comment replying done. One email was from the surgery booking my next appointment for an INR blood test for next Wednesday at 1430hrs – the swines know I like an early time as well! They will not be getting a bag of nibbles next week, the little devils! Humph!

You watch now, I bet the GUM clinic makes that day for the operation… or something will come up and send the plans into mayhem, I know, my high EQ just told me so! Hehe!

Had a wee-wee. Changed the position of the clothes drying on the airer.

Well, would you Adam and Eve it: Proof that my High EQ is still working, so soon after writing about it as well. Got an Email telling me of a Nottingham City Homes Assessment Meeting on… Wednesday 4th July at 1400hrs. I just knew this would happen!

Back onto Corel Draw.  Got this one of TFZer Janet and hubby with their servants. Including some of the TFZ lads and yours truly raking the gravel and cat sitting. Hehe!

Hope they like it. Posted it to albums and the TFZ site.

I took these photo’s from the balcony.

Had a wee-wee.

Did a bit of Facebooking, then back onto CorelDraw to start another graphicalisation. Got it finished. Jill from Australia with Russell Grant in her kitchen. Good grub about?

Had a wee-wee.

Turned everything off when Dizzy Dennis and Shaking Steven visited me.

Got the meal sorted.

Beef pie with extra gravy made, mashed potatoes with cheese and onion, garden peas, wholemeal bread and a lemon yoghourt.

Washed the things and rested, in fact, I felt drained.

Did nothing but try to watch TV, fall asleep, wake up for a wee-wee, try to watch TV, fall asleep, wake up for a wee-wee, try to watch TV…

Drifted off., woke up with the TV still on and remote control laying on my ample stomach, and thought I could smell something burning

Around 2350hrs, I woke up with the TV still on and remote control laying on my ample stomach, and thought I could smell something burning. Struggled out of the £300 second-hand recliner trod on something as I limped around looking for any signs of fire burning or food left cooking. Nothing found and the smell seemed to dissipate as I searched. Reasonably satisfied that there was no conflagrations or indications of any danger, I had a wee-wee and returned to the recliner. Whoopsiedangleplop! The item I’d trodden on was the DVD remote control, and it had split the plastic, and I had a bruise on my foot as well.

Did the well-belated last of the day’s health checks and the evening medications were taken.

Cleared the Accifauxpa area and mounted the recliner… woke up hours later with it still not reclined. I must have nodded off straight away?

Wednesday 28th June 2017 – Got the laundry, Food delivered and some TFZer Graphics done. Apart from weeing, nothing else much. Hehe!

Macedonian: Среда, 28 јуни 2017 година

0218hrs: Shot awake with a start. Little Inchy very sore indeed, Duodenal Donald and Anne Gyna both going away at me. Tsk!

No memories of any dreams, but again, I knew I’d had some. Decided to get up and do the laundry room tasks while I felt up to it and in case the ailments got worse.

As I dismounted the £300 second-hand recliner, Dizzy Dennis joined in with the others.

Collected the in-need-of-washing gear and down to the laundry room, got it going and back up to the apartment.

Checked on the fire door while I was nearby. The handle to press to open was tiny I thought?

Cleaned the kitchen floor and wiped some surfaces, but the innards hassle prevented me from doing any more stuff for now. I’ll try again later if I get the time and feel up to it. Hello! Reflux Roger joined the attack now! Humph, not a good start!

Had a wee-wee. Then back down and moved the clothes from washer to the dryer, and back up again.

There were no signs of any need for a Porcelain Throne session yet. Odd that?

Did the Health Checks: Sys 147, Dia 73, Pulse 88, Temp 35.5, Weight 14.8

Got the computer on finished the Tuesday post.

Forgot to put the picture of the meal on it.

Roger Reflux, was certainly getting bad now?

Then down to the washing room again, and collected the clothing.

Bagged up the items and cleaned the filter.

Found a ladies sock in the dryer, so put it in view on the window railings.

Wiped the surfaces and left, going into the lobby to go to the lifts, I noticed that outside it was raining rather persistently and the roadway on Chestnut Walk was flooded!

And I have to go out to the surgery this morning too, for an INR blood Test. Tsk!

Up to the apartment and got the kettle on and out away the clothing.

Took a photo through the kitchen window from well back.

Made a brew and pondered on what needing sorting today.

Clinic: Must phone them about the operation date.

Tenants Social Hour: Not managed to get there for weeks now. And today I must leave them at no later than 1025hrs, so as to get to the surgery in time for the blood test.Put the DVT card and crossword book in the bag ready, then got the raffle prizes and nibbles sorted for the meeting.

Susan the foot lady coming twixt 12-1300hrs. Hope I can get back in time from the doctors for her.

Put the DVT record card, the CDH letter (Must remember to ask for a sample tube) and crossword book in the bag ready, then got the raffle prizes and nibbles sorted for the meeting. And… the new umbrella. Hehe!

The flipping sneezing has started now. I keep looking to see if anything has shot out on the floor each time. You know, a lung or something like that. Haha!

Did the ablutions early, no showering cause of the noise this early (0515hrs), so a good stand-up session will have to do. Hopefully, something will move in the Porcelain Throne needs department while I’m in there.

Had a wee-wee.

Back in a bit.

I’m back, smelling all fresh after the ablutionalisational session. The Throne was utilised without any problems this morning.

Made a mug of tea and took the morning medications.

The rain had gone down to a drizzle, but the skies seemed to promise more to come?

Had a wee-wee. Awaiting the Morrison delivery any time now.

Started researching for help with Windows Movie Maker for Brother-in-Law Pete.

No luck.

Morrison man arrived.

Might have overdone it again. Huh!

Facebook for a while.

Had a wee-wee.

Then realised I’d got my days a bit mixed up… Humph! It’s tomorrow the clinic and the surgery, not today. Sad innit?

Got the peas and potatoes in their pans ready to do later, having fish tonight.

Redid some TFZ graphic work.

Made a cuppa, did the midday Health Checks and medications were taken.

Had a wee-wee.

Sue arrived to tend to my tootsies. She was in and finished in about ten minutes and off and gone. Never known her so quick, and did not cut me once, either. She seemed a little tense, bless her. So I assumed she had a job on or some hassle going. Gave her some nibbles as she left.

I went into the wetroom for a wee-wee and stubbed ly left big toe on the flipping mop bucket. Huh!

Got the fodder prepared and consumed.

Fishcake, smoked mackerel fillets, cod in batter, Surimi sticks, potatoes and garden peas.

Sourbread and butter, and apple and a lemon yoghourt. Rated this one as a worthy 9.2/10.

Did the Health Checks and took the medications.

I must take care now the doctor has put me on 60mg codeine phosphate tablets instead of the 30mg. She did this I think, to help with them stopping the Morphine until after the GUM operation. Must remember to ring them in the morning.

Had a wee-wee.

Got the goggle-box on and ready to watch the Chile v Portugal semi-final. What bits of I saw in between nod-offs was good, end-to-end stuff. Of course the team I wanted to win, lost on penalties.

Had a wee-wee.

Tried to watch some first season Law & Order on Freeview channel… er… forget now, an American one.

Gave up, the need for sleep was too overpowering.

TTFN.

National Sunglasses Day – What next?

Up at 0259hrs: No dreams remembered, but I knew I’d had them. Tsk!

Out of the £300 second-hand recliner and to the Porcelain Throne – all good.

Computer started and reminder notes to use found, and I could even decipher some of them.

Then the shakes started, no dizzies, no Anne Gyna, just the shakes. They stayed for a few minutes while I was taking the Health Checks.

The batteries on the BP thingamabob ran out. That’s the little clock in the kitchen, the radio in the wetroom now this one that the batteries have conked out on me within 24 hours. I must get some more batteries when out again.

0330hrs: Sys: 153 Dia: 79 Pulse 86 Temp 35.8 Weight: 14.87 Nowt to fret over. Going to take the morning medications and realised that once again, I’d missed the evening ones. With it being so early, and now must remember to take the morning ones later.

The shakes departed as I made a mug of tea.

Found a letter in the hallway. More tests to be done. Only an Annual one this time. CHD. I must remember to book this on Thursday at the INR blood test… and to ask for a sample bottle for Little Inchy’s liquid.

Back to the computer, a quick go on Facebook to add the recent photographs to the albums. Recorded the HC readings. Then Dizzy Dennis visited me. A short and sharp session this one, not nice, but far better than a long one.

Went to make another mug of tea and Duodenal Donald started kicking off. Bit annoyed at this as earlier, things seemed to be so quiet and calm on the ailment side of things. Humph!

Made another brew. Drinking a lot this morning?

Feeling a bit depressed now, so I’ve put some New Vaudeville Band music on YouTube to cheer me up.

Started this dairy off up to here, then finished off the Monday one.

Hours spent WordPress reading and checking on the Grammarly’s extensions in Firefox.

Had a wee-wee.

Made another drink to replace the one that went cold.

Gone a bit dark now, still no rain yet though, so I might nip out later on if the threat does away.

Had a wee-wee. (Getting a bit regular?)

I was fascinated watching some dogs who had taken their owners for a walk in the bottom field. Tried to photograph them jumping about in the long grass, but they were very quick (The dogs, not the owners), too fast for me. That is until two more dogs tuned up and the wagging tailed group of them met up and with apparent joy, started to play and enjoy themselves as they went into bushes and grass chasing each other.

I was temporarily transmuted into a happy chappie while I watched them.

Checked the Google Calendar for tasks needing attention.

Wednesday and Thursday there a was a few things to remember. At least I can to the Tenants Social Hour for once. The last three weeks with the Enoxaparin injections, I’ve not been able to attend. Mind you, I won’t have much time, cause the INR blood test is oddly timed for 1122hrs. So it takes me about 50 minutes on a good day to walk to the surgery, so I must leave at… let me work this out, I’ll get my calculator… leave at 1030hrs to get there in time, maybe earlier if Arthur Itis or Anne Gyna are playing me up?

Hello… remembered the morning medication needed taking late. So I did.

Thinking I’d photograph the tablets in my hand, to show off how much better Arthur Itis was treating me and proud to have not missed taking them… and I dropped them when Shaking Steven caught me off guard! Huh!

Got all of them apart from the Bisoprolol Fumarate 3g. I’ll probably find it in a few days when I hoover up. Haha!

Did some Facebooking catch-up. Spent far too much time on it, hours again. Tsk!

Had a wee-wee.

Made a cuppa and podded the peas and put them in the saucepan with some water and demerara sugar to marinate.

Opened CorelDraw and made a start on some graphicationalisationing. This is the first one completed for TFZ’er Luscious Lona.

Took about 2 hours start to finish. Posting it on Facebook now.

Had a wee-wee.

Had some mail through the letterbox.

Blimus, I’ve got some to sort out and remember, again. Tsk!

Can I still smell the bacon in here?

Back to the graphicalisationing. Well, that was the plan. Just had a visit from Dizzy Dennis and Shaking Steven.

Going to sit down and relax for a bit instead.

Monday 26th June 2017

Sinhalese: 2017 ජූනි 26 වන සඳුදා

0500hrs: Woke full of memories of what I believe were bizarre dreams. By the time I’d fought my way out of the £300 second-hand recliner and into the Porcelain Throne room, every bit of memory had gone, and no scribbled notes on the pad. Tsk!

At least the Throne session was not too bad, splattered just a bit and minimal bleeding from Haemorrhoid Harold.

Duodenal Donald, Anne Gyna and Arthur Itis were all having a go at me. The Whoopsiedangleplop last night is the reason, I assumed.

Took the medications, realising I’d missed last nights again. Took just one Warfarin extra.

Health checks were done, a bit of a dodgy start on this weeks health checks.

Some odd numbers recorded?

Had a wee-wee.

The computer on and finalised yesterday’s diary. Took me while the fingers were stiffening a bit.

Podded some fresh garden peas and got them in the saucepan ready for later.

Started this one off, then did some WordPress reading and comment replies.

Checked the Google Calendar for a date when free to order some nosh from Morrisons. Did the order.

Facebook activities followed.

Had a wee-wee.

Carried out the ablutions and got me all smelling nice, medicated and dressed.

Took the four bags waste, 3 regular 1 recycling to the chute on my way out. Pressed the button for the lift, it was on the 14th floor – it bypassed my 12th floor to the 3rd floor then to the ground floor. It came up to the 6th floor, the 15th floor and finally down to the 12th floor. Good job I didn’t have a bus that needing catching. Hehe!

Anne Gyna was bit bothersome.

Got down to the ground floor, and I realised I’d left the camera and mobile in the flat. Tsk! .So, back up in the elevator again, pressed the button while the lift was on the 7th floor, it went up to the 9th and then the 13th floor, down to the 5th floor stopped at the fifth floor, the 4th floor and the 3rd floor, finally getting down to the ground floor. (I made a note of this activity to remember to record later) Fully expecting folk to want to get out of the lift I stood back as the doors opened – it was empty?

Was this due to there only being the one elevator working?

Anyway, up to the twelfth and nipped in quick as I could manage and collected the phone and camera, back to the lift.It was now on the 14th floor now, I pressed the

It was on the 14th floor now, I pressed the call button, and it came straight to me, with four tenants in it. We had a laugh and finally, I got outside.

Called in the social hut to see either Deana or Julie for a word and give them some nibbles – there was only an NCH woman who told me neither of them is in today or tomorrow. I replied; “Oh fair enough, I won’t collapse for a couple of days then” with a cheeky grin all over my face. She did not see the funny side of my comment and offered me a look that silently said to me through the flaming ether; “Who the hell are you to be sarcastic about the staff!”

I put the nibbles in the fridge and beat a hasty retreat!

Wobbled along to the end of the road and down Winchester Street hill.

As I turned the corner, I saw the blackberries coming along nicely now.

I wonder how long it will be until we are over-ridden with folk from all over the County after their freebie fruit? Hehe!

Had to stop for few minutes, to cope with Anne Gyna’s severity. By luck, I was near a small Derby stone brick wall and made use of it.

Further down the hill and I took a photograph of Woodthorpe Court flats.

Continued down the hill to the traffic light junction at the end.

Spotted that yet another shop had closed down in Sherwood.

The what was the bedding store that had ceased trading!

Very sad and worrying all these closures all over the place.

What does the future hold with Brexit going on, it can’t be good, can it?

On the junction, I pondered which way to limp…

Left, straight on or right? I went right up to the hill top.

The greengrocery shop had some so called fresh peas on sale and display, with shrivelled pods and even a maggot or two in the box. I shuddered and moved on up the hill.

Called in the Nottingham Hospice shop for a nosey around to see if they had anything that interested me. Nope!

Up to the top of the hill and met Bill from the 14th floor, we had a chat. He is going into hospital later today to have his very sore leg looked at again. He is now on liquid Morphine. Wished him all the best and asked him to let me know how it goes. Poor Bill.

Over the brow of the hill and down towards the park gates.

Not many folks about this morning and the forecast rains have not arrived yet. (They never did)

Give it time I suppose.

As I hobbled through the Woodthorpe Grange Park entrance, it looked extremely sparse of users, kids, prams, dogs and pavement cyclists were all notable by to their absence?

Had war been declared and nobody told me? Hehehe!

Then I saw two wood pigeons on the grass to the left of the path.

I tried to get a decent shot of them from a distance.

Had a bit of luck on the sixth attempt (Last photograph), they both stopped pecking at the grass and looked up at me at the same time!

To the top of the footpath and turned right, still not many people around.

I decided to have a walk through and down my favourite little Copse, and out the bottom of it and wander through the wild field back to the flats.

Not a soul anywhere to be seen in there or the field below.

The atmosphere as I walked down the worn pathway, stumbling here and there of the tree roots as they come more and more out of the ground, was lovely.

The smells, the peace… and then I noted further into the Copse, some Git had spilt white paint over the plants. Sad making!

I took this photograph of the Winwood flats when I came out into the open and the field the smells changed in the air, and the wildflowers scent abounded.

Super pleasant!

Hobbling through the knee high growths, trying not to tread on the flowers, I did a Whoopsiedangleplop and tripped over into some bushes!

Fancy that…me of all people! Hahaha!

No injuries at all, although I did take a fair bit of time getting up again, nothing to hang onto you see. These blue flowers almost talked to me. Don’t laugh!

Got out of the field and down the gravel path to the flats

Some workmen were ripping up the decorative concrete at the end of out apartments.

Got up and into the flat without any incident and had a wee-wee.

I’d left the flipping heater and radio on. How did I not notice this before? The batteries in the radio had died. Huh!

Got the meal on the cook and began updating this post.

Anne Gyna still giving me some bother.

Had a wee-wee. Checked the fodder, didn’t seem to be cooking very quickly? Mini potato waffles and added a beef pastie and some sausages to them in the oven.

Had a wee-wee.

Back to doing this diary.

Got the fodder served up, a big meal this one, yet I ate it all up. I am a good boy. Hehe)

I’m afraid that might not have been such a good idea because afterwards Duodenal Donald and Reflux Roger both gave me some bother. Tsk!

Had a wee-wee.

Washed up and settled in the £300 second-hand recliner to watch some Heartbeat DVD episodes. A lot of rewinding in between nodding off sessions.

Eventually, I nodded off for an hour or so of dream filled sleep – but could I remember any of them? No! Why, oh why does this happen? There are times when with the use of any notes I might have scribbled along with what memories of the said dreams still lingered, that I can remember so much detail of them – but not very often lately. Annoying this!

I changed to the TV mode to watch a film. First set of commercials and off I drifted.

Inchcock Today: Sunday 25th June 2007 – Whoopsiedangleplop with the Nosh. Sob!

Sunday 25th June 2007

Basque: 2007 ko Ekainaren 25ean, Igandea

0425hrs: Out of the £300 second-hand recliner and to the Porcelain Throne – I’m afraid things were getting a little ‘loose’ and ‘squirty’ in this function, again. Oh, heck! Diarrhoea Derek returning?

Into the kitchen, a strange blue hue to the view, for you… Poetry comes free folks, Hehe!

Took the morning medications, and after wondering if should or not, I swallowed a Morrison Acute Diarrhoea capsule, for fear of going through the Trotsky’s again!

Carried out the Health checks, Sys 144, Dia 80, Pulse 90, Temp 34.9 – Weight 14.76, then remembered to put the oil in the lug-holes.

Made a brew and sorted the photographs from yesterday. Got them on the computer and then started this post of up to here.

Had a wee-wee, and began to finish off the Saturday postings. Got the done but not until 0800hrs. Phew!

Got the medication pots sorted out for next week.

Then started this diary off.

Had a wee-wee.

Got back to the computer, and oh dearie me… had to return to the wetroom for another Porcelain Throne session. Not much, but almost liquid, the splattering had to be cleaned up. Wiped the contact areas with the lemon antibacterial wipes.

Noticed how the clouds had formed so beautifully.

Made a mug of tea.

Then I did a WordPress post about Nottingham the trip to the hearing place and test that didn’t happen.

Got it posted off: Photographs from my hearing aid test that did not happen

Got around to some WordPress reading.

Then onto Facebooking.

Brother in law sent this photo from the Kitty Cafe on his and Jane’s visit.

Certainly looks as snug-as-bug in this slide, doesn’t he now?

Oh, I see now the picture was taken from outside, Humph!

Got onto CorelDraw 7, not 2017 and did some graphicationalisationing for the TFZer site I love so much.

This one is of Mary Friedberg, with Tom sneaking into it and nicking one of her Muffins? Hehe!:

And this one of Sandie Lentz, with Butler Andy in attendance:

Took a few hours that did, Got them posted in the hopes that they like them.

The stomach was rumbling, not with pain but hunger. So I got the sausages and bacon in the oven and canned tomatoes in the saucepan.

Updated the Health Checks Record on Excel and compared last week’s averages to this weeks. I don’t think there is nowt to worry about.

Got the TV magazine and had a look if owt interesting was on the box.

Oh, yes a lot on offer tonight, for hours and hours.

One film I’d like to have watched, but it was on far too late for me.

I rang Sister Jane to see if they can record it for me. Out of luck, though. Jane said send details, and Pete would try, but to not hold out much hope. Fair enough.

Told her about the hearing aid wait due to the excess wax. She said they know of something that Boots told Pete about that is a lot better than the olive oil the doctor told me to use. I’ll definitely give that a go.

Emailed Pete details as instructed by Pete about the program. He will tell me about the new stuff in his reply.

Got the food served up.

It was going down a treat… then… Whoopsiedangleplop!

Fingers froze as I was biting into a dipped sausage and slice of bacon wrapped in a slice of sourdough bread, and it dropped – tried to catch it, but the fingers would let me. I foolishly decided to use the other hand to assist, and the blooming meal and tray slid off onto me, the chair, the cover and the floor! Got out of the £300 second-hand recliner trying and failing to avoid treading in the tomatoes, the fork and the apple! Nearly slipped over at one point – so now I had an even greater mess to clean up, Humph!

Getting the cleaning stuff out of the cupboard I hit my knee on the corner of the door.

Wiped and scraped, took the cover off and put it in the washing bag, then got down on the floor on all fours with the bowl of soapy hot water and a kitchen towel roll and managed with some success, to clean up the mess.

Could I get up again? At one point I considered pressing me wrist alert button but resisted. Heaven knows how long it took, (A long time) but I did, painfully, frustratingly and embarrassingly grappled to get back up on my pins, after working out the least painful route. Hehe!

Proud of myself, I retook the stuff in the kitchen without further mishap, returned to the front room and spotted all sorts of bits of things and areas that still had tomato juice, crumbs, and even a sausage that I’d missed!

This time I got the picker and the walking stick at my side before venturing down to floor level again. Somehow I cleaned up the mess reasonably well this time.

Got up reasonably quickly and with little bother. Put the rubbish in the bin, and washed the carpet best I could. Cleaned up the mess I’d made in the kitchen, and got some old sheets from the spare room to cover the recliner with before trying to settle once again and watch TV for a while.

Shame I didn’t take some photo’s, but that was the last thing on my mind.

As I sat down, the instant I sat down, knew that Haemorrhoid Harold had been bleeding badly, so I got up again in seconds and to the wetroom for a hygienic cleaning up session. Getting fed-up now!

The hassle of the Whoopsiedangleplop caused Duodenal Donald to kick off, and Arthur Itis was not happy with all the struggling to get down and up, so he let me know this.

I’d gone from content and feeling reasonably well, to a blubbering wreck, in pain and terribly depressed!

Had a wee-wee.

Gave up with watching the TV.

Grumph!

Inchcock Today – Saturday 24th June 2017: Off for the hearing aid test that wasn’t?

Saturday 24th June 2017

Malayalam: ശനി 24 ജൂൺ 2017

0425hrs:  Out of the £300 second-hand recliner and off for a wee-wee.

Took the first of several photographs from roughly the same area through the kitchen wall over the next hour or so, showing the change or lack of change in the weather. Rain forecast for today.

Taking the morning medications, I realised I’d missed taking my last night ones. Huh!
Missing the Warfarin after all the trouble and hassle they have had over the past ten days, will please the DVT team, I’m sure.

Back in the wet room to the Porcelain Throne.

All-in-all, a good session. There was no bother from Haemorrhoid Harold at all, the first day in months that there was no bleeding. Good!

Anne Gyne, Reflux Roger and Harry Hernia were no hassles either. Good!

I felt that Duodenal Donald and Arthur Itis were both warming up for an attack. I’m not sure how I know these things, experience perhaps? Or my high EQ? Whichever or whatever, I was confident of the forthcoming annoyance and pain that is assuredly incoming soon, from both of them. I hope I’m wrong!

Reminded me of the need to catch the 1232hrs bus to get to the audio test.

Had a wee-wee.

Made a mug of tea and got the computer going. Did some WordPressing and checked the Emails. One from the surgery with the Warfarin doses after yesterday’s blood test. Telling me my next INR will be on 29 June. Whoever usually send these books out to me with an appointment and asks if it is alright and I reply straight away. Not this time. So I had to make a request for an appointment early. (So I can get to the Tenants Social Hour at 1000hrs – having missed the last three due to medical appointments and getting a little frustrated with it) Of course, being a Saturday, they will not get the Email request until Monday, giving only two days warning, and they will not be able to fit me in, I bet! Frustrated!

Facebooking caught up with.

Although not much heart in it after making a mess of it yesterday, I started a new try at the TFZ graphicalisationing. Made up some cut-out and adjusted photograph bits to use first. Long job, but I think I’ve got them right this time. Saved them to disc, then got on with the scene for the graphic.

Packed up sharpishly and got the ablutioning done.

Off to the new bus stop. Many residents were milling around also waiting for the bus. We now have a bench to sit on, no shelter yet but still, they are doing their best to help us, not that this prevented any of the many moans and quibbles that were being passed around between the tenants present, oh no!

One chap and his wife, who must have been from the Winchester block, was going on about (the Grenfell fire disaster was the current subject at the time). “I’ve never smoked” (He must have said this in his high loud voice about five times) “Smoking should be banned inside the flats and anyone weak enough to want to smoke should go outside for one!” He was probably trying to intimidate the few who were having a puff behind us. Never seen the chap before, but he looked very young compared to me and the others.

I wish I had been brave enough to mention his breath smelling of alcohol (Even tough it didn’t, it was just a thought) and suggested anyone wanting a drink should go outside and drink it! Hehe! Moan after moan about the works taking place. It must be a tremendous job for the Council to undertake. That will take over two years to complete the modernisation of the flats and has many difficulties to face, (other than the nagging of many of the residents). I think we are being pampered by the Council. Since I had to sell the house and move into here, I appreciate having someone to call on for help… fair enough it might take a few days to find someone free to help, but this is far better than having no one at all to help. Does that come out right?

Soon got into town and had a while to kill before the appointment with the SpecSaver audio hearing test, so wandered around taking some photographs of Nottingham centre.

It was soon time for the meeting.

Told the receptionist, a great one this woman would have been. I imagine she would have been of invaluable assistance as a Chef Oberaufseherin, “Chief Senior Overseer” in any of their concentration camps. Her superior snotty (Don’t you dare bother me!) attitude alone would have scared most inmates without threats of violence! Certainly, frit me!

She told me to take a seat in the waiting area. I wasn’t going to argue with her, so meekly I took my place in the waiting area! Got the crossword book out and within a few minutes a lady came out, collected me and led me into a small room.

Phenomenally good looking, short dress on and excellent, no, perfect chunky thought inspiring legs. I found it hard to concentrate as she quizzed me on my hearing history. Sweet natured patient lass she was. After an hour or so of hearing related discussions and few laughs it was decided:

I have far too much wax in both ear-holes to do a test today that would be accurate. Told to continue with, but increase the applications of Olive Oil in both channels to loosen the wax. Then I have to return on Tuesday  4th July at 1130hrs for have the wax removed and a test done. Usually, removing the wax would cost me £50 (Two @ £25) to have done, but if I purchase hearing aids from them, it will be free on this occasion.

I explained the discomfort of the current models I have, also the difficulty when it comes to changing and cutting/refitting new tubes. She showed me some in the ear aids. I liked the idea of them, but she was not sure if they would be powerful enough for me, but might be. They will know after the test. These were the cheapest in the range on offer too! This woman I believed and trusted, but the test will be done by someone else, the bloke who I spoke to on my last visit, who looked like a banker with his red braces and hadn’t started shaving yet I didn’t think? My confidence ebbed.

Thanked her and departed. It was a while before the last L9 bus of the day was due, so I had a hobble around for a while.

Went to Victoria Centre (Mall) and into the Tesco store.

Got some sliced sourdough bread and fresh garden peas.

Window shopped as I made my way out of the centre.

Noticed these ladies shoes in a shop window as I limped through Trinity Square.O

I liked the look of these a lot.O

Took the photographicalisation of them, so I cold put it on the TFZ site and ask the lassies there for their opinion.

Caught the bus back to the flats, didn’t see any of the other tenants getting on.

Got in the apartment and had a wee-wee.

Got an urge for some chips with the meal.

So made with Meatballs raw pod peas, beetroot, mushrooms and streaky bacon. With a BBQ sauce dip.

Along with a lemon yoghourt, apple and slices of the sourdough bread. Rated this one as 9.1/10.

Took the evening medications and did the health checks.

2000hrs: Attempted to watch some more of the new (To me) ‘Heartbeat’ DVD.

0425hrs: Woke up.
