I’ll get the considerable embarrassment over with first.
Today, I got yet another food order to arrive! That is six in eight days, and I can remember ordering two of them… albeit for the wrong day and week.
Joy? Carer Kara is back from holiday! Nurse Hristina is coming in the morning. Joy? The mind blanks/seizures seemed far less today! Joy? I got the PPs on in five massively less painful minutes today.
However, I lost yet again… this time it was four hours before I found it again. Missed the sunset and annoyed myself. Nothing new there!
I was so weary, in the afternoon, I took a kip in the itch-creating, bruise-giving, catheter-tube-tugging, crumb-decorated from my nocturnal nibblings, God-awfully uncomfortable, cringingly-grotty, no longer working, dirty beige, anti-sleep designed, c1966, second-hand bought for £300, ten years ago from the charity shop, recliner, waking an hour later when Carer Chris arrived to wake me, and after he’s gone, so had . I really thought it had gone this time, finding it… I’ll tell you where later…
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

I stirred reluctantly in mock life.

Removed the nocturnal catheter bag.

Wash and shave.
The legs & feet were looking okay.
The bloodless parts of the toes were seemingly getting larger in the area? The make on the right foot is actually, I think, a mark on the camera lens. But I tried to clean it off the other day without any success? It does not show up in dark areas, so I cunningly took the top photo upside down. Clever, eh? Or not.
A second attempt at evacuating from the rear end, and Trotsky had regained control. Last visit!

All done ablutionally and medicatingly, I tackled getting the Depend PPs on. I am not kidding; I reckon the whole operation took me about 5 minutes from start to finish! With some miracle, the pains from knees Arthur Itis and the two Cartilages were not too bad!

I made up some bottles of spring water (flavoured with cordials) for the day’s intake.

Sorted the waste bags.

I was gobsmacked to see that the Catheter Day Pouch had filled quickly. Oddly, the shade looked a little deeper as the day went on.

I started on the blog, photo, and CorelDraw work.

Joy?
The landline rang . My beloved Hristina of the DVT Warfarin Anticoagulation Team advised me that she would call on Wednesday to take the blood for the INR test.
And very welcome she will be! ♥

After Carer Kara ♥ had called and got the diabetic socks on for me, dosed me up, and she’d checked the catheter date and condition and departed Sob! I was hit with fatigue. I made a microwave hot dog and some chips. I got back down on the aged, grotty-looking c1966 made, charity-shop-bought, horribly beige-coloured, £300, Harold’s Haemorrhoid-testing, non-operational, acne-giving, virus-breeding, rickety, easy-to-fall-out-of recliner. Ate the snack, put the TV on, and fell asleep at as the first set of adverts came on. Zzz!
I was woken up by Carer Chris arriving, medicating me, and shooting off… damage done; I could not get back to sleep. So, I rose, washed the pots, and got back on with the much-belated blogging.

Then, an ASDA (Walmart) order arrived.
Not the foggiest recall of ordering it. Humph!
At least it was a small one.
Baguettes, beans & bacon soup, Soda water, a can of minced beef, kitchen towels, and Worcestershire Sauce flavoured chip sticks. And…
Hot dogs, potatoes, rissoles & Lamb Patti!

The day pouch was choker-full again!
And even darker now.

Noticed the sunset and wanted to take photos of it… but my search for the Kodak proved futile. I must have been looking for an hour non-stop.

I finished the blog for Monday and posted it. Then I made a start on this one… Carer Chris made his last call of the day. I was always in a rush on this one; I was his last call before he got home for a few days’ rest. Gave him some treats as he left.

Then made another search for the camera…
I eventually discovered that I must have knocked it off the recliner arm, and it’s fallen into the control pouch outside the chair. Angry at myself but so pleased that I found it, I went to take a very late shot of the night from the kitchen.
Not a brilliant one, though.

After spending more time on this blog, it was not going well; I stood up and, crikey, the pouch dropped down!
Full again! And look at the dark colour?
The infection may be returning?
I hope not; I’ve got enough going on, thank you!

I got my head down again for an hour or so and then got up for another bash at this blog.
Got back in the recliner at about 04:00hrs.
Up again at 06:50hrs.

Another not a lot done day.

Nocturnal pouch.

Carer Richard arrived
We’ve agreed to leave the ankle & leg strappings off, to see how it goes. Richard did not put the diabetic socks
on, as I was hoping to get a shower this morning. But that didn’t happen!

Lovely morning view.
Amazing cloud and lighting.

Carer Maryham came, I thought it was for the domestic, but she helped me with getting the diabetic socks on, washing and shaving. We had a natter as we got the ablutioning done, and after getting a fresh dressing gown on, she took a photo of me.
What handsome looking best!

I got some bottles of Bladder-pleasing spring water into the front room. I’m trying to during more, as the urine in the day bag os getting darker.

A very rare event here! I microwaved a hot dog, opened a packet of low-calorie sticks, and I added a pot of orange jelly, and had an afternoon snack! Nice!

For four hours or so, nothing was done. It’s as if I had a seizure to memory blank. Nothing had been done on the blog either. No TV on, but that’s not unusual. The kettle felt cold, so I’d not made myself a brew of tea. Nothing else on the reminder notepad?
What the heck was I doing?

I tried to concentrate on blogging, even though I knew there wasn’t a cat in hell’s chance of getting caught up; I’m a day and a half behind now! Add all the cock-ups, mistakes, errors and mind-blanks that followed, and I eventually gave up. Tired, mentally weary and frustrated in the extreme!
I did, however, get the few photos taken into CorelDraw and got them in the WordPress gallery to use in the morning… at least, I hope to. I pondered over where the term cat in hell’s chance may have originated, I looked it up on Google: A footnote to a humorous poem printed in The Gentlemen’s Magazine of April 1792 perhaps gives a clue to the origin. “Charon”, it says, “has orders to deprive all cats of their claws. Whence comes that saying in hopeless cases – he has as much chance as a cat in Hell without claws”.

Got some fodder cooked, prepared, and served up.

Today has been, up to now, a nothing day.
This is the oddest one I’ve had for a long time; although the hectic ones were annoying, this does nothing other than make a mess of blogging and getting a delivery from Amazon Day; it was out of this world… No, the fact that I just went along with the nothingness all around me is a surprising bit. No Josie, no Wardens, and my mind was wandering all over the place. Anywhere I wanted it to go, well, Humph! On the bright side, Carer Shaquille and Carer Kimberly were in a decent mood, and we managed a few laughs… which were the highlights of the day!

I had to make some templates up, and I got carried away when I found a few words I could use in the ode.

Not so dark this morning.

Moon, or reflection of flash. I don’t remember taking this one at all?

A gone-wrong early morning shot of the houses.

Ablutions.

Looks to me like , along with are beginning to blow up, bleed,  and scab again.
The two-tone-shaded toes… Scrawny leg bottoms, but fat at the top? Hehe!
are more prominent too! Some vein lumps rising.

Another change in the evacuation department!

Took a close up of the two-tone-shaded toes.

A truly blue hue now.

The output was more consistent today. I took these about an hour apart from each one. And a good colour, too.

Late afternoon clouds.Getting darker now.

I got carried away doing the ode.
Spent hours on it, but the result was disappointing.
Peaceful!
Aha, a misty sunset.

Today, , & tended to my needs.

Another seasoned vegetable stew tonight!

The out-of-it moments far outweighed the ins today, indubitably. Farcical memory-wise, and I had to cope with nagging away at me, nearly all day long. Relief came only when a Carer arrived. Each time they departed, reliable old restarted!
I got so far behind with the blog, it is Saturday morning, 09:445hrs, and I’m only just starting this blog.
I got distracted by the Health Unlocked site.
Far too often. On the section of the site, there are many people at the end of their tether. I replied to some of their comments in the hope that what I wrote would help them, in some way, to cope with things a little easier. I know how they feel. And so many said their Doctors seem to fob them off. So many are on medications for the PN. Well, to reduce the pain from it anyway. But with my being on Warfarin and having bladder problems, any extra medication will be risky with the side effects. Then, of course, I had to view my other Hubs… FND, bladder & bowel, cataracts, Hard of Hearing, and others. This cost me several hours of not getting any blogging done. So the written descriptions are going to be short, if any, today.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Not much.

Blue hue again.

07:20hrs: arrived.
She’s brought the laundry back up for me.
Medications were given, and then she doctored the bleeding wounds that were bleeding and got the and diabetic socks fitted.
She did a good job too.

Sorting the laundry out, I had to put the towels, dressing gown and two shirts on the stand-up airer, to dry. They were still damp when I emptied them from the bag.

Getting lighter.

Spuds out to bake later.

Did the midday call. She helped me get the washing from the fairer into the cupboards, bless her. Checked the cooler and taps for me and took the waste bag as she left.

Then, I got distracted by the commenting and reading. I was on it for hours and hours, addicted.

arrived, strewth, is it that time already? Chris changed the day pouch for me.
Doctored the legs after taking off the strappings & diabetic socks. They were bleeding again. But the District nurses have not called on me for weeks and weeks. They have their Junior Doctors on strike to cope with, so I do understand how busy they are.
Chris took a photo of segregated legs when he removed the strappings & socks for me. Hehe!

Not sure why I took two of these?
Rest assured, there will have been be a reason hidden within the convoluted, warped confines of my cerebrum, shielded from divulgence by , and .

Made a brew of Glengettie.
And dunked some Maryland cookies.
Sugar-free, of course!

Got the potatoes served up and eaten.
Seasalt & no-butter butter and ‘no bread’!
I think I ought to get a medal for this self-control… at least a mention in despatches!

Went to wash the things.
Took these sun-setting photos.
Bootifu!
Amazing…
A final closer effort.
Does anyone see the ghost or angel in these pictures? The spaceship? Ah, well, I didHaha!

I managed to wake and get up early enough to get the night pouch off and make a start on the ablutioning completed… but it took me longer than I’d hoped. The Porcelain Throne evacuation slowed me down.

Getting the things to take with me, and realised that the Carer had not come early, not that the lad was late, no one had told him about my early appointment. He got the diabetic socks, and leg straps fitted. Helped me get the trousers on as well, issued the medications and chose a treat from the fridge. Thank’s Shaq.
Down to the lobby and had a go at the crossword while I waited. The Easy-Link bus arrived, and I was soon on the minibus, paid my fee, and on the way to the surgery.

Heavy traffic en route, we arrived a few minutes late.
I was greeted by a new electronic computer log-in system. But it had big icons that were amazingly easy to see… I realised then that I’d not put in my hearing aids and had the reading glasses on. Tsk!
The logging in was done, I sat down and had another go at the crossword book.
Nurse Caroline came to fetch me into her room… I had an epiphany moment as I hobbled along with her to her treatment room. I suddenly became aware that I had made the right cock-up about what the visit was all about. For some unknown reason… apart from possibly , I believed I was going to see someone or other, about the results of the last prostate-shrivelling session at the City Hospital Urology. But, no! That must be the appointment for next month, maybe, perhaps. This one was about the last blood test, showing that I was now a confirmed diabetic. With a High Risk of Type 2 Diabetes. Nurse Carolyne was her usual kind, patient self as we discussed my dietary habits. It’s as if I must have known, I said. I’ve just last week stopped eating crisps, and nibble only sugar-free biscuits now. However, the highlight of this talk was I can now go back to having two mugs of tea a day! Hurrah! Or, as many as many mugs of decaffeinated tea that I wanted… Spit! Horrible, tasteless!

She wanted to refer me to the Diabetes Learning Course. I explained what happened at the last one when I could not hear or see what was happening. I tried for about five weeks but realised it was costing me all that dosh to get there and back, time in dressing beforehand, and of no use when I got there. The nurse was calm and helpful when I asked if there were any smaller group meetings I could attend. Bless her. She will try to find out and let me know later. What an Angel!
I could sense the flow-back building up in the bladder, and I knew the pouch needed emptying. I went into the surgery WC and emptied the bag.
Back to the waiting room, and on the crossword.
Departed, as the lift was parking up on Mansfield Road, and was soon back at the flats. Gave the driver a choice of drinks from the , and into the prison… no, flats.

Passing the laundry room on the ground floor…
Someone’s washing, obviously someone had forgotten to collect it from the machine, had been dumped on the draining board counter. Which is better than mine was, which was on the floor and returned with fluff all over it, the week before last. But at least it was returned last week. The new dressing gowns, shirts and diabetic socks will have to be bought again… I think I ordered some from Amazon.
In the cell… er, apartment, and emptied out the very dark urine from the day pouch.

To make room for the daily mug of Glengettie tea. No, I’m wrong again; it was J Sainsbury’s Extra-Strong Red Label teabag. Lovely it was too! Then, I got the uncomfortable, painful trousers off.

I was going to make some baked spuds but forgot to heat the oven. It can happen to anyone!

I got a call from the doctor’s surgery. An increase in the Warfarin doses after the blood test.
Wed 1½-Thu 1-Fri 1½-Sat 1- Sun1½- Mon 1-Tue 1½.

arrived. Med’s sorted.

Blogging for hours is a slow-grinding task today. The concentration was not with me, but the ability to make errors grammar-wise was in excellent form.

rang from the door chime. It was a Carer arriving. I’d never seen him before. Obviously, some carer had gone off ill or on holiday. This makes things difficult for them cause Kara is on holiday for two weeks, as far as I know. Nice chap.

I gave up on blogging, and I’ve tried to make an early catch-up on it in the morning.

Made a naughty meal.
Yummy!

Looking glum as things darken.

I certainly didn’t!

While waiting for the last Carer call, I drifted into the heavenly bliss of sleep. A few minutes later, the pains from the backed-up bladder woke me.
Phew! Just in time!

The Carer medicated me and removed the leg strappings and diabetic socks. I’ve ordered some more socks from Amazon, along with Dry Eye spray and Anti-diarrhoea capsules. Gave him a treat of his choice.

I’m looking forward to next Wednesday, when I get t speak with the Doctor. These memory blanks are concerning me more than ever today.
Many moments and a long one with no memories at all of between what I worked out was 13:00 to 16:00hrs. I noted that I’d been working on yesterday’s blog but had not got very far with it, and what I’d done was error-filled and out of chronological sync. I corrected (I think) the grammar cock-ups, but left things as they were in the timing mistakes, for fear of drifting off again. I put messages in between to remind me as I did things. I just hope I’ve removed them all in Thursday’s much-belated blog. As I write this, around 19:00hrs, I seem more in control… but why? Not that I’m complaining, but I am certain things will go crazy again. I’ll try to remember to take the link with me to this blog cause I think if the Doc reads this, it may well prove more descriptive of my problems than my stuttering and memory-blank-ridden talking face-to-face would ever do? Losing track when talking to the carers does not matter so much cause they can do nothing to help anyway. Especially since the call times have been halved, they cannot have time to listen, even if they want to. Sorry, I’ve waffled on there.
A RIGHT COCK-UP WITH BAR was then committed. I misplaced for several hours. Started a search when I was up to it, so angry with myself! Gave up, thinking, I must have put or dropped it in the waste bag somehow, and it had been put down the chute!
Certain it had gone missing, a Mega-Depression took hold of me. was gifted to me when I broke the last camera. I so appreciated that gesture, too; now I felt worthless. The joy when I found it hours later and started taking some evening shots was incalculable!
Of course, this meant far fewer shots for the blog.
The period between realising and thinking after the search I’d lost it, was a terrible time.
Now, on with the scintillating, captivating, amusing, pragmatic, fascinating Inchy Today Blog. Hehe!.

I was woken when the Carer arrived at 07:10hrs. Not with it really, still so tired and sleepy. was an angel, she got the cream in the dodgy looking legs, the diabetic socks on for me, and all in a rush, she did a good job. The visit time being halved is making it all a rush nowadays. Can’t be helped, though. Thanked her and she took the rubbish bag with her on her departure. Such a nice gal.
Took another bag I’d made to the door.

The day bag soon filled up!

End car park, no mud at all this lunchtime.

Sun fighting through, temporarily.
Wonderful clouds.

Carer Chris called, not that I can remember that much about what happened. The computer work was going so slowly and mistake-ridden. Spent ages repeatedly searching for . Lost hours.

Found the camera!!!
I’d apparently dropped into a shoe near the computer? How, when or why?

I used it immediately to take some sunset shots. I was overjoyed at finding it and lost my guilt.

First, a wide shot.
Then a little closer.
Then another, but not happy with the quality...
Tried again…
Not happy with this.
Made a right mess this time. Seemed to get a shadow shot of the slit, and gave up!

Another in and out of it day. Emotions, feelings, confidence, and concentration goings from one extreme to the other constantly. I’ve got to go see the Doctor next Wednesday… hang on, I’ll check that on the calender…
Yes, on Wednesday at 08:45hrs. Carer Kara rang to arrange a lift for me with Easy-Link, I’m awaiting confirmation of if they can do it or not.
has been social today, I’ve had many visits from him. Conversely, and have been very kind, not one giving way episode today from either of them ♥.
As I mentioned, my concentration has been terrible. With , and the gums, both painful and it’s a good job the Cartilage Twins eased off.
Here we go with the photo reminders. Haha!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Looks like a sunburnt foot on the night pouch?

I became of multiple pains coming from  and . Along with both  & , as the Carer Arrived to wake me up at 07:15hrs.
Then, as he removed the socks that should have been done last night and put new ones on, we both noticed the shape and state of my legs. A photo was taken of them…
Swelling up had started again!.
had flared up as well.
Also, with Vanessa having a go, the white toe ends are more predominant now. Of course, it’s just pain. A man of my calibre, with a phenomenal in-built pain resistance, it did not bother me in the slightest; I’ll not even mention .

Medications were given to me.

Window Cleaner Joe arrived. I was just about to go to visit the . He soon got the windows done and was off like a shot; he was very busy. Managed to bore him a little while he was doing them within earshot. Hehehe!

But things were again slow to start, and the first dollop was like concrete, then Trotsky followed up… and kept coming and coming… Hahaha!

It took me a while to clean ‘things’ up.
It seems impossible, but this did happen. When I first got the used Depends off, and new ones on…
the pouch had all but filled up?
Beats me!

End car park shot with .

.
Got some spuds in the crock to add to the the remnants of yesterday’s stew. These were different spuds from yesterday, but they, too, had some blight! Threw some of them away. And more later when I cut them to reveal that had blight inside.

After Carer Kara departed, things were vague, to say the least. Thankfully I took photos to assist.
Not many of these made it into the stew. Plenty, most of them, went into the bin bag. Humph!
Must have taken this much earlier.

Ah, a mug of tea that didn’t get drunk (went cold) and a banana that was eaten (Skin seen in the bin).

I seemed to resume my awareness partially, as the pouch filled up again…
I was lucky this one didn’t burst!

Aha! The evening shot of the night lights.
Artistic, but not what I wanted. Hehe!

But the solid torpedo first routine made sure that bled a bit, then go soak in type splashes and spitting gunk that followed the original torpedos.

Mor spuds to throw away.
Served up the meal after Carer Chris had had a little bowl for a treat.

Went with the night pouch tube in hand to wash up the pots. Got sidetracked with the beautiful belated sunset.
Slowly got dimmer as I took each photo.
Bootiful!

on the trolley wheel, as I was putting the things into the drainer.
.
Didn’t half make me jump!
Ha-Ha!

Ode hue in the flat this morning?

In the kitchen, too?

Nocturnal Nibbling Guilt!

Had a go at the crossword.
That hue is there again?

I got some of the fresh Ada peeled potatoes and cut them up in my intended vegetable stew meal.
Threw most of them away, above is what they looked like inside when sliced…
The thumb this time!
About half of them were alright.

Morning view from the kitchen.

I returned to the main (other) room and wanted to take a photo of the day bag that had filled to the max. So quickly. Could I find what I’d done with ? No! I started a search worthy of Sherlock Holmes, I thought, but it seemed to have disappeared! Hello, grinding in the innards, off to the wet room for another try at an evacuation…
I had a rinse, got a fresh pyjama top and dressing gown on, and went back for another look for the camera. As I was going from one room to another, only three arrived anyway. I was just telling him of my losing the camera… and I remembered where it was… I’d had it with me for the 90-minute search in the pocket of the jammie top! Well, fancy that? Me forgetting something. He saw the funny side. He didn’t put the ankle or leggings straps on, as I’d hoped to get a shower. This didn’t happen, thanks to the blanks!

At long last, I made a start on the blogging…
As the food delivery arrived… That’s the Iceland order that I thought was for next Wednesday! Done it again! I need help, but the Carer can’t do much; the visit times have been halved from 30 to 15 minutes. No time to get everything done that’s needed. Had I needed the ankle & leg strapping put on, Shaq would have had to leave when the time Sean was out. So, no help with dressing or Phorpain gelling on Arthur Itis, Cartilage Chloe or Carole either. Can’t do owt about it, I’m afraid that’s how it is, so be it. Grumph! Back on with the blogging, they tell me I am a little blogger. Hehehe!.

The goods were put away. And what a struggle it was! I swore not to make another order for any food until after next week! Pee’d off with myself now!
Moroccan tomatoes, Eurgh!
Treats for the helpers.
Basics.
Food shoved in the fridge.
And freezer.

I took a shot from the balcony of the end car park.

Did the midday call. She struggled and had to go in case she overran on the schedule. She still made sure things were okay with me. She is off on holiday for a fortnight… that is well-earned, but it shattered my confidence. There’ll be no financial assistance/guidance for a while now. She’s bound to be missed by all of us, such a helpful treasure.

Well, it’s more like one dirty, great, long one. I’m unaware of when it started, but Carer Israel was ringing the chime and came in, and I didn’t know what was what? Don’t laugh or say why bother mentioning it. I’d not done any work on the blog… what was I doing? I may never know!

I perked up a bit and quickly took the BP of; he had to shoot off.

I got the sliced spuds out of the slow cooker and into the stewpan on the stove.
Then, I added some tomatoes and chunky vegetables to the mix, stirred it well, and turned off the heat. So that will be an easy-to-prep meal later.

Back for a third try...
If I don’t pass something soon, an explosion is likely! I hope not like… Haha!

Evening shot.
A terrible shot of the houses below.

A little harder this one.

Went to get the meal heated up, and…
Getting tummy ache now.
The stew might move it along.

The moon seemed very small tonight. I had to zoom in to get this shot… I took four; this is the only one of the moon looking recognisable.
Later, the moon was hidden altogether.

Worked on this blog until gone-midnight again.
(Finished in the morning).

Washing the pots is not easy when you have to lug the Nocturnal catheter bag around with you. I tend to put it down to do something needing both hands and forget about it. Walk away, the bag catches onto something, and the tube yanks in Little Inchie… Argh! Twice tonight! But at least the release valve wasn’t knocked open. I got sorted and thought I’d better get my head down for some much-needed sleep.
Hahaha! As if!

Cheers, everyone.
