Fri 24.4.15 Inchcock Today – Off to the Museum!

Friday 24th April 2015

0401a

Got to kip around 0400hrs – Woke up 0615hrs wide awake as the alarm went off to remind me that BJ is calling to collect me to go to the museum in Loughborough.

Bits of the dreams stayed with me:

I was on rooftops and climbing over them along the roadside – the roadsides were those from the 1949 to 1952 where I was living then… People in period clothes below… I got to the end of one block of roofs and forgot something so went back to start again? This time I slipped, hung on by one hand dangling then fell but by coat caught on something and I did a nice gentle fall to the pavement then had a job to free the jacket? – running through the streets, nervous now… that’s all I recall.

Made a cuppa and got me togs ready and returned up to start the laptop.

Took, me medications and BP: Sys 192 Dia 72 Pulse 71 Temp 70. No bleeding from the rear.

Then started this diary.

Managed to do a graphic fer the TFZers on Coreldraw without it freezing! Yahooo!

The TFZers Picnic I called it.

Realised it was getting close to time for BJ’s arrival – so hastily got meself decoked and polished and changed into me togs and down and made a nibbles-bag up for us at the Museum.

Just about time so I made a cuppa and waited for BJ to arrive.

BJ rang he’ll be late coming.

Big John picked me up and we were soon on the road to Louborough and the Great Central Railway Station come Museum.

The weather was perfect for me – not too hot, no wind and no sun.

We even got the last disabled parking space outside the entrance.

I took a photo of the station from above before we entered.

There were no trains running passengers today, so it was only £3 to get in instead of £18.

Big John said we must go back again in a few weeks at a weekend when the trains are running – no argument from me.

We hobbled down the stairs to the platform and BJ took some photo’s of me.

One of me leaning on a station trolley full of old-fashioned luggage next to the superb mock Smith’s newspaper stall with 1930’s posters on display.

Then near the entrance to the small museum we had a bit of good luck as an engine was steaming up ready to move out to the sheds – very nostalgic fer me that one. Made me think of when I was a whippersnapper and going to the coast for a day trip!

There was even and advertisement for Bachelor tipped ciggies what I used to smoke.

I still miss me pipe though even after all these years… hey-ho!

In the small museum was a young boys dream of a model GWR engine locomotive – it was built so well, I fell in love with it – well with many things I saw here today actually.

The skill of the volunteers in keeping things going was amazing and I had great admiration for the work being done here.

We popped into the station cafe, all laid out old style – it  wer right grand.

All the food was prepared fresh on ordering and it took a while for BJ’s cornish pasty to come. Mind you, the tea was cat-wass.

We sat on some chairs on the platform waiting and I took a photo of BJ pretending to get in a Pullman Restaurant carriage – another grand bit of gear.

BJ had his nosh and we walked down off the platform to the work sheds – and I can’t remember having a more pleasant walk in me life, the old locomotives lines up were awe inspiring: This one on the left in superb condition and ready to go.

The next one on the right the last steam train to be bought by British Rail in 1962 – such history!

Later on we were lucky enough to see her taking on water – a rare sight nowadays indeed.

On down the lane a bit further and we came across the last steam train to run under British Railways.

A magnificence of this locomotive, unfortunately we could not get a close look as she was ‘parked up’ in a long line of other types including some diesels.

Sadly I had a dizzy spell here, but it only lasted a few minutes.

Another cracker here on the right, two chaps were working on her getting her ready for their weekend run with passengers – of the smells… heady!

We passed the signal box then, but were not allowed in it like.

Fair enough that!

BJ asked a bloke if we could go into the work sheds for a look around – he said if yer give me £2 fer the funds yer can, but be careful yer don’t fall in the pits!”

So we did! (Not fall in the pits – gave him £2 each)

I was fascinated and agog with all the work going on – it must take these lads years to get their loco’s refurbished – and a fortune getting or making the parts needed.

Dedicated this lot are.

When we walked back to the station was when we saw the loco taking on water – a sight I’ve seen so many times in years gone by, but this is the first time I was impressed with it.

Fancy having a full sized train set eh? Hehe, I never had a toy sized one!

BJ got me to take some photographs using his camera – scared me to death! It was a rather natty complicated expensive one like – but I managed not to break it.

Took a photograph of John in front of what must have been the most attractive of the loco’s in the place – BJ loved it too.

Back to the platform and a walk along the other side and the ‘Ladies Waiting Rooms’ were authentically laid out – with open fireplace even a pram with a lifelike baby doll in it! They’ve worked so hard at getting things right!

I took a last photograph of the signals near the bridge at the station with an Inter-City diesel in the background, and we were off.

BJ suggested we call at the Ruddington Train Museum on the way home and I was all for it and again excited.

We drove to Ruddington but found the place closed.

BJ said to take photo of the times from the poster on the gate – the red days are extra-special events, the blue are train running days. I’ve forgot what the yellow days are though – sad innit?

BJ ran me back to his place and let take some photo’s for Thomas on the TFZ site. They show his support for an American Train Engineers Union supporting none-single driver conditions and he thought Thomas might be aware of this?

He offered to run me back home, but it was only a 15 minute walk so I declined and thanked him for the day – he was looking a little tired himself.

The walk back to the flea-pit proved rather incident ridden – no less than four pavement cyclists en-route.

I wonder if any of the political parties have realised this?

They could promise to put em in prison or deport them then they would be assured of the votes of the infirm and elderly walkers of Nottingham? No? Oh, alright then…

Got in and WC’d.

Made a cuppa and took me medications.

Made me nosh – not a lot.

Meat cob, garden peas, beetroot, cheesey potatoes and cooked pickled beetroot – followed by an iced lolly.

Fell asleep for an hour or two.

Woke and got this Diary dun like.

I’m sure I’ve got something on tomorrow… but what?

Tsk!

Thurs 23.4.15 Inchcock Today

Thursday 23rd April 2015

Fell asleep last night early for a few hours and could not get back to sleep. Tsk!

Spent hours trying out the new paint prog without much success.

Mike Steeden photo ended up like this – not exactly what I was after but there you are – failed again!

0515hrs took me medications and watched some Red Dwarf on YouTube.

Stirred and got a wash and brush-up.

BP: Sys 147 Dia 76 Pulse 72 Temp 74 No bleeding from the haemorrhoids. Skin growth tender.

Set off on me walk into town to get some of the microwaveable new potatoes in oil and herds… or even herbs, from Aldi.

Noticed a lady dropping her two ankle-biters off at the school, having parked her Turbo S Porsche Cayenne SUV that according to What car costs £55.266 to £93.773 to buy, on double yellow lines on a corner… jealous? Me?

Onto Mansfield road down to the college island and up the hill toward town passing the cemetery on the other side of the road and the traffic was still a bit heavy – the naughty mini driver using the bus-lane.

Onward up the hill further and appreciated the trees, some full of growth and others still looking bare.

I’m not a horticulturist in any form but the beauty of seeing these side by side made me think of nature a bit. (I think the St John’s Wort might be working)

The weather was almost perfect for me this morning, not much sunshine not too warm, low winds.

Almost made me feel happy – and we can’t have that can we? Hehe.

Then they started to appear – the first of the dreaded Pavement Cyclists.

I suppose they are a tad frightened of using the road with all that traffic?

But why do they come so close to people of less mobility that others and scare them instead?

Swines!

To the top of the hill and down turning into Huntingdon Street.

A pavement cyclist just missing me and catching me off-guard the little imp was gone before I could get me camera out – so I kept it in me hand for the rest of the journey (The camera!).

The net one nearly had me as well – can’t hear em coming from behind yer see – Swines!

The next one on the right here actually swore at me as he passed?

I told missen to take extra care this morning and just as well I listened to meself as well

Took a photograph of the view of Vic centre and the flats form the traffic lights with Woodborough Road.

The dome of Little John – that housed the bell can be seen behind the grotty looking building that houses the Victoria shopping centre.

Notice the traffic lights?

One hell of a junction for accidents this one!

Further down the road another Pavement Cyclist approached and passed within inches of me.

I was getting a but nervous now.

I turned and took his photograph… turned to carry on me walk and almost walked into a lamppost! Hehehe… serves me right!

As I approached the Aldi shop another f the Herberts came at me.

Ah – well, into the shop and had a poddle around.

Got some potatoes, chesse covered cobs, lemon cakes and a microwaveable cob.

By gum I know how to live.

Paid for me bits and waddled over through Victoria centre and out on Mansfield Road, then up to Trinity Square, where I clandestinely slipped some seeds to the birds.

Took some photographs of ‘Bling’ for the TFZgals.

This one caught me eye – not just because of the price, but the interesting designs.

No idea what they were made of or from, but at these second-hand prices it must be something rare?

Caught the bus back to the hoppit, thank heavens again for the free pensioners bus-pass!

I only miss me licence and car when I need to move or collect something nowadays. I never thought I would get on so well without it.

Enjoyed the yob-free walk to the flea-pit and WC’d, put the kettle on an made me nosh. Had it early today – for some reason I felt peckish.

Beefburger cheesey cobs, cooked pickled beetroot, tomatoes, French’s New York BBQ sauce (Nor cheap but very good) followed by lemon cakes and an iced lolly.

Pig!

Watched a DVD while eating it – all of it this time.

Fell asleep…

Woke up with a jump, again had to think what time and day it was. Hehe, getting good at doing this I am).

Laptop on and started this diary. Emails from Mike Steeden and Kentucky Angel cheered me up.

BJ rang, he s picking me up twixt 10 and 1030hrs in the morning and we are going to the transport museum at Loughborough.

Lovely…

Took me medications.

Tried to do a graphic of Kentucky Angel.

Here it is:

.Not one of me best, but me hands were a bit shaky.

I hope she likes it?

Couldn’t sleep – watched a Falklands documentary on Youtube – moving not glorification.

TTFN folks…

Wed 22.4.15: Inchcock Today – Flummoxed

Wednesday 22nd April 2015

Woke up and lay there trying to remember me dreams without success – and realised I was shaking all over – not like in the song!

Went down and made up me medication pots, then nipped out and fed the pigeons – .

Then made a cuppa and got the laptop on. Fatima & Fred brought the family with em today.

Still feeling ‘Wrong’ in missen today… hard to explain but I’ve been making many errors and forgetting more stuff than even I usually do – worrying this is.

The sky was what I call ‘yobbo encouraging’ style today – that is clear sunny (not hot due to the wind) – threatening outbreaks of antisocial behaviour and already the young apprentice yobs are milling about at the end of the street!

I remember last summer and the hassle these nerks gave me with threatening behaviour and mugging me.

I do not want to go through that lot again – maybe apprehension is getting to me about this?

Did me tests: BP Sys 147 Dia 82 Pulse 89 Temp 31.2

Started to create this diary – not easy when yer mind is not with yer but off on it’s own little tangent like, if you know what I mean?

The shaking steadied down nicely – so I got Corel Pro-paint started and tried to learn some of it’s features.

I’m going to do a post header and then try to make it look aged in Corel Paintshop Pro.

I do not hold out much hope and am prepared for my usual failure… but hey-ho, here I go.

Back soon to post the results… I hope!

TTFN.

I’ve just popped back on to show yer me rather sad results of the first effort here:

Original wot I dun like here first.

The aged supposed to look like an old newspaper photo but doesn’t really does it now?

Still. I’ll use this aged one fer the Diary header methinks.

My next project was to see how easy it was to add vector text to a photo – it wasn’t!

I shan’t be attempting this again.

Next task to find out how easy it is to add raster text to a picture.

Back in a bit when I gerrit dun like…

No easier than the old Coreldraw9, in fact both methods are more complicated – or is it that I’m more used to using the old Coreldraw method?

Maybe.

I took a break to ring sister Jane to see if she enjoyed their gallivanting off to Concert Hall to hear the Czech Philharmonic after going for a meal. She said they both enjoyed the meal and the concert. Although they nodded off once or twice. They are off to get the free fish and chips with the Nottingham Post’s vouchers, and then going to the Senior Reds meeting for a nosh and drinkies later today. I said they were always busy bless em.

Should have cheered me that news, but…

Toyed with me Clive Danton Spiv photo wot I dun – applied Sepia to it and this is how it came out. Must send a copy to him in case he might use it in one of posts?

Got an email of support from Patti Bekert and Lynton Cox, they did brighten me up a bit.

Patti suggested I try St Johns Wort, so I’ll pop to the chemists in a bit to get some. Two genuine cyber-friends I don’t deserve but am so glad I’ve got!

I enjoyed doing the text for Patti’s photo, even though I couldn’t get the fill to change to wot I wanted it go to. Huh!

Had a wash and brush up and ventured out for a little wander down to the chemists.

No yobs about in fact not many people at all.

Got to chemists and the owner Deepak was in and very helpful he was too.

I asked the assistant about St Johns Wort Extract tablets and he came to me to explain about them.

They were £14.95 a pack of 60 so not too dear and I bought a box.

I asked if they would be okay to take with my other medications and he indicated it would be no problem at all.

I wondered down to the Lidl penitentiary and wondered round buying some biscuits and tinned mushrooms and left.

As I did I took a photograph of the sky and lack of people about.

I didn’t mind that – lack of people equals lack of yobs.

I plodded the roundabout route back to the concentration camp, feeling a little out of sorts and got the kettle on.

Made me nosh.

Bread Thins with thick sliced Sopocka sandwiches, tomatoes, small potatoes curried beans (Tesco brand, very mild) followed my an iced raspberry ice-cream lolly.

A slight change from me usual fair I know, but I ate it all this time, well nearly all of it.

Unfortunately while I was watching a DVD of All Creatures Great and Small I nodded off for a few hours.

Bit disoriented when I stirred.

Realised I’d missed me evening medications. Thought about it and took just one Warfarin tablet although they tell me not too if too late I just took the one instead of the dosage of three for today. Hope I’ve done right?

Took a Wort tablet too.

Despite the unplanned kip I still feel drowsy?

Did some graphic training – but the concentration no good, so turned to Facebooking for a while.

Tue 21.4.15: Inchcock Today – Confused actions implemented…

Tuesday 21st April 2015

Did me tests: BP Sys 167 Dia 97 Pulse 70.2 Temp 30.2

Athritis okay, Angina middling, Ulcer okay, Skin growths tingling, Hernia nothing, haemorrhoids no bleeding, Depression Bad.

Made a cuppa and started this bit of the diary, then posted yesterdays.

Not feeling very bright – low.

Had a bath and shave in readiness for me hospital visits.

Got the paperwork, bus-pass, nure nibbles etc and set off and caught the bus into town.

I was very nice today, the weather I mean.

I hobbled to the Y28 bus stop and caught one out to the Queens Medical Centre.

Of the 11 other people on the ride at setting off time, two of us were not using mobile phones.

En-route I had a look at the paperwork for the treatment centre appointment and caught a glance at the INR Warfarin level appointment log – and realised the appointment was for next Tuesday not today! They had given me a fortnight instead of the usual weekly appointment – how I managed to miss this I do not know – yes I do… I’m losing it!

Still it meant the nurses could have an unexpected surprise bag of nibbles at the haematology dep’t and I still had plenty of time to walk to the Treatment Centre at the back of the site.

So I called in to give em their treats and had a little natter with them.

As I was walking around the compound on me way to the Treatment Centre I noticed some vehicles parked rather naughtily on the double yellow lines at the crossing.

I saw later that some of them had been ticketed. Visitors or workers must hate having to go to work in their cars there.

I got to the centre and up the stairs to A Section and joined the queue at the reception desk.

Got to talk to a girl of the female species at the desk, handed her me paperwork and answered the usual questions – name date of birth address etc.

She handed me a bleeper and told me to sit down and someone will buzz me when ready. I thanked her sat down and waited for someone to buzz me.

When I was buzzed I went to the nurse and got the usual questions and she took me to sit in a corridor outside room 10 to wait for Dr Spyridon Schoinash.

A crossword or two later he came out and called me in.

Usual questions answered as well as deeper interrogation of me medical history – that took a while!

He then took a look at the growths on me back for a few minutes and declared they were a common form of skin cancer but must be removed.

Would it be alright if students attended my treatment as it is rare to have the chance of them learning from the removal and diagnosis of 7 spots at the same time?

‘Fine, no problem’ I said.

He filled in many forms and then handed me a few to give the receptionist on me way out, and one or two for me to keep after I signed them, anaesthetic and agreement to investigate and treat forms, Pre-operative information.

I thanked him and went out and joined the queue for the receptionist.

Gave her the paperwork and she gave me a form to fill in as much as I could – ‘Take a seat and return this to me when you’ve finished filling it in’

‘Yes’ I said and took a seat and filled in the form.

Then I joined the queue for the receptionist and returned it.

‘Take a seat while I make an appointment for you’.

‘Thank you’ I said.

She called me over to the reception desk after half an hour or so, and gave me more paperwork and told me to ‘Take a seat and someone will come to see you’.

I thanked her and tool a seat.

Later a lady came over – she looked a little flustered so I assumed she had been calling my name but I didn’t hear her?

I answered the usual questions.

She gave me a letter for an appointment on Friday 12th June at 1110hrs.

She also gave me a feedback form to fill in.

When I got back to the flea-pit I found a Clinical Pathology bag with a label with me details on with the paperwork – wonder if I was supposed to have this?

As I left the Treatment Centre I took a photo of er… a hand – not sure what it represented and thought it was vulgar if was supposed to be art – not that I know owt about art mind!

I was poddling back to the front of the hospital when a git of a pavement cyclist came passed from behind making me jump – then he pedalled over the crossing an up the other pavement.

The little rascal him!

Well, he was a big rascal really.

I thought it would be a good idea to got through the inside of the hospital and out of the main entrance instead of risking me limbs on the pavement.

I felt confident I could remember the way through… Ahem!

Went in through the Nose and Throat to the lifts, up to B floor and turn left when getting out… then the fun started… but eventually I got there.

Glad I did really because a ruckus taking place outside the main doors was not to be missed it was so funny – well to me like not the two blokes involved. I’d swear blind they were talking and shouting at each other in different languages. I assume they were both multi-lingual (Can’t touch em for that) but it sounded comical.

I caught a bus into town.

Called in the newspaper shop in Trinity Square and got a sausage and egg cob, then slipped the pigeons some seeds.

Took a photo of some ‘bling’ for the TFZ gals.

Caught the bus home to Carrington – the twitchell was occupied with several unsavoury looking yobs so I walked the long way around – where I was nearly knocked over by a gang of apprentice yobboes on bikes.

Made me nosh – the sausage and egg butty, french fries and tomatoes. Not a lot, but I’m not feeling hungry at all now – too down to bother.

Shaking a bit now Tsk!

Made a cuppa took me medications and got this diary started.

Feeling apprehensive still – can’t settle or concentrate like I want to.

Hey-ho. TTFN.

Inchcocks Memories Invoked by One old Photograph

Down the alleyway between the cafe and the Naval Club was where my doctors was situated: Dr Foley. An elderly woman with a no fuss attitude, I liked her – I can picture her now – with her fussing and stern assistant/pharmacist/nurse who would light the gas-fire in the waiting room with a loud bang and flash of flame. I was on her books from 1949 to 1969.

The cafe (Can’t remember the name, something Latin I think? No doubt someone will be able to inform me I hope) The owner hired young near-do-wells like myself to sell hot dogs at the weekends in the city centre. I think they sold for 9p beefburgers 1/-. They were stored in hot water in compartments in the heavy and hard to push trolley base. The onions were horrible. Keeping folk from nicking the watered down ketchup and Daddies sauce was a problem.

To the right was the Hong Kong Restaurant. On more than one occasion they were prosecuted for some hygiene irregularity but there were so many brothers and sisters in the family, that when they were barred from running food premises, they just sold it to another family member. Mother worked there for a while – and often she was given tins with no labels on them to open and mix ready for the cook to prepare in dishes. One day she told Dad that one of these tins had a bit of label left on it – it was Top Cat cat food! Later they were done yet again, but I never heard any of the locals complain and it was always busy?

The Italian restaurant I cannot remember ever seeing anyone ever eat there. We used to joke that it must be a cover-base for the Mafia.

In later year I’d frequent the Naval Club, where the beer was only so-so but the  company was great – I loved listening to the members stories of their war exploits.

In one of the  flats above the Hong Kong restaurant lived a lass by the name of Maureen Hutterswaithe – a bonny lass generous with her foibles as I remember… but that might not be a suitable story for  here. But it were grand!

Arkwright Street, my stomping ground as an underfed impecunious little ragamuffin.

Not all good memories but much missed nowadays in this greedy uncaring atmosphere I laughingly call life.

Hey-ho – so now I’m feeling a bit low…

Mon 20.4.15: Inchcock Today – More frustrations

Monday 20th April 2015

Up and down stairs, made a flask of tea.

Not feeling good at all.

Feeling worse after going out to spray the weeds in the back and found 3 pallets that someone has donated near me back door?

Attempted or planned break in? Yobs? Oh dear now I’m worried…

The dank sky misty sky didn’t cheer me up any either.

Laptop on to start this and get me LOMM posts done and off before BJ calls about lifting me to the Post office fer me pressie.

Forgot to take me BP and medications, I’ll do the BP etc later – took me medications a bit late like.

Must sort out me medication box’s for the cancer clinic visit tomorrow later as well.

Now I feel apprehensive taut worried and nervous – got enough to fret about with all the medical procedures this week without owt else – I’m genuinely getting so depressed again now – ashamed to tell yers, but something has to improve soon…

Managed to get the LOMM posts done anyroad.

BJ rang, he’s on his way be here in half-an-hour.

Got he ablutions done and went down and fed the pigeon family their lunch.

BJ Picked me up and we went to fetch the musical pressie from Shirley Blamey from the Post Office.

BJ dropped me off back at the demolition site and carried the box in for me. He is going to a train museum in Loughborough on Friday and asked if I wanted to go with him. I thanked him and said I would.

The sky had brightened and I took a poddle down the front shops to get some tomatoes.

Called in Lidl got some tomatoes cobs and mushrooms.

Walked around for a few minutes appreciating the spring weather but dreading what advantage of the light nights the local yobs will take… apprehensively I toddled back to the dump.

The sky looked wonderful as I passed the OAP home. Thinking I should be in there – somewhere I could feel safe and secure in?

Still feeling unaccountably low when I got back.

Took me medications.

Kept dropping things, me fingers seem to be doing their own thing lately – even typing this is not easy. Tsk!

Made missen some nosh getting well annoyed with myself at everything I did – including when  dropped the water bottle?

Started to do this diary.

Put on some Rick Nelson music through me headphones on.

Rang Pete about meeting tomorrow for the hospital trip – no answer. Pete not going with me cause it’s his and Janet’s shopping day.

An unhappy Inchcock signing off. Hehehe!

Sun 19.4.15: Inchcock Today – Got out a bit today

Sunday 19th April 2015

Foreboding sky today

Five hours dream filled kip – no notes found and no details retained in me brain about them. Huh!

Health checks carried out:

BP: Sys 126 Dia 78 Pulse 70 Temp 35.0 that looks alright methinks.

Haemorrhoids not bad at all and no bleeding – Reflux Valve very fair – Ticker ticking – Hernia okay – Arthritis fair – Ulcer just letting me know it’s there like – Anne Gyna not too good, but been a lot worse – Skin growth okay until I moved and caught it, very tender now – Dizzies had some yesterday but none today yet.

Made a cuppa and laptop on to start this diary.

Spit and polished missen and set off on me risky walk into town – I’ll call in PC World to get a new cheapo mouse and mat if I remember.

The sky was not welcoming as I left Carrington, I wus surprised to see so few people about – then I realised it was a Sunday. No fleas on me – quick as a flash – Tsk!

Plodded on into town.

No incidents on route – didn’t see a pedestrian cyclist! – Honest!

As I got into the centre of town I noticed the old BBC building was almost demolished now. They’ve brought in the bigger mechanical triffids now.

Called in the public WC.

A lot more folk about now.

I called into PC world and got the cheapest mouse and mat available – then I spotted they had on the software rack – Corel Paintshop Pro X7 Ultimate on sale price at £49. I checked and it said it was okay to use with Vista – so got it like.

Out and had a hobble around Trinity Square. Slipped some seeds to the pigeons craftily and took a photo of some Bling for the TFZ gals – no idea what gems they are, but they were expensive and beautiful I thought.

Took the  photo through a pawnbrokers window so I assume they were second hand?

Walked down toward the City centre – avoiding an argument taking place between five or six chaps near the general post office – no idea what it was about about… I think they were having a good verbal set-to in Polish or Ukrainian perhaps – all double Dutch to me. Hehe!

Down into the slab-square and dropped some more seeds…

There were some tents up from the Army Cadets, Air-Force Cadets, Girls and boys Brigade with some cadets going round giving sticky badges saying ‘I support the Army Cadets’?

A typical TSM walking about with his
swagger stick swaggering as he strutted around.

A young lady sat on the paved seating lifted her little mite out of one of those silly three wheeled fashion push-chairs and the push-chair fell forward onto them – I tried to get to help them – but was well beaten to it by the young cadets.

I felt a little old and senile – then again I am a little and senile?

I was surprised to see the Labour Council had allowed a St Georges flag to be put up in front of the Council House. I think it’s Thursday 23rd this year, St Georges day like.

Still, not complaining like.

Caught bus back to the hoppit and immediately and excitedly installed the Paint Shop programme – it does work!

Took me hours to get it installed as well – not to mention the cost.

It freezes when I try to open or install anything?

Really really pee’d off now. Grrr!

So spat and swore a bit and got me nosh ready for later.

Cold nosh tonight:

Cooked beetroot, Sopocka a cooked loin, pickled beetroots, garden peas, bread thins manarins in jelly, lemon dessert, iced lemon mini-cake and a piece of seaweed and me medications. Bet I’ve overdone it and will not eat it all again – Tsk! But feeling well miffed about the Corel Paint failure and frustrated with not knowing what if anything I did wrong installing it or how to correct it either – I do not feel like eating at the moment anyway – A Whoopsiedangleplop of sorts?

Listening to a Dean Martin compilation on You Tube at the moment – 2hours 30 minutes and well worth a listen to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOLxDkp0Kv4 Some great songs on it and it almost cheered me up a tad… almost!

Settled down now – just remembered tomorrow: Got the cancer clinic and then the the Warfarin level tests.

Got to get me medication packets sorted to take with me (All right all right, I know I should have got them sorted earlier – but the Corel paint fiasco got me going – I can feel me ticker ticking now, bet me BP is high. Feeling so irritable and irked about it!).

Wot a clot I is – it’s Monday tomorrow not Tuesday! (Another example of me recently acquired habit  of practising creeping senility there!)

Tomorrow Monday – I have got BJ going to ring me to give me a lift to the ‘Local’ Post Office half a mile away on Hucknall Road to collect Shirl’s pressie and lift it home for me bless him – do not know when it will be – so I must get up early in the the AM and get things ready in case he is free early – I hate bothering him, a grand chap Big John.

This Dean Martin old music I’m listening to on me headphones is good, memory provoking.

The new mouse I’m using that I thought would stop the jumping about on the page while I’m typing had failed to cure the problem. (Fancy that – me failing… huh!)

Getting dark earlier tonight, a bit of rain perhaps? I’m getting passed caring, what else can go wrong?

Nipping in to get me clean jammie bottoms out of the bedroom – stubbed me toe catching me corn a hefty clout… (Bother!).

Had enough now!

Knuckled down and had anther go at importing photo to Corel Paint.

Not sure how I did it, but I got one in and practised removing background.

Not what I meant to do – Tsk!

Too late to try any more – must get me head down.

Hullo… that Facebook link has started on Elvis’s hit records now… good this is!

Not feeling up to much – hey-ho.

Sat 18.4.15: Inchcock Today – Stuck indoors again – Tsk!

Saturday 18th April 2015

Got in a good seven hours again – the dreams, what bit I can remember of them were of a rather naughty nature – but I enjoyed them I think?

Made a cuppa and took a photograph of the sky.

No porcelain visits yet – and the damned rumbling innards are back!

I must remember to ring Big John later to see of he can assist with a lift to the ‘Local’ Post Office to collect Shirl’s pressie for me. But not today as I dare not move out of the house – I feel it brewing in me stomach, rumbling and a-grumbling again… oh dear here I go…

Pain and strain but no evacuations – oh dear!

Most uncomfortable. And the angina is a bit bothersome too – arthritis reflux ulcer and skin-growth not bad at all though.

Self testing done – BP Sy 142 Diy 84 Pulse 85 and Temp 35.3 No idea what these figure mean though.

Got a fair bit of medicationalisastional stuff this week, Tuesday skin-growth then Warfrin level tests, Wednesday GUM clinic, audio Clinic, busier than when I was working!  I hope that BJ can manage to help me carry me gift from the Post Office on Monday – no reply to me phone calls yet.Huh!

Opened Coreldraw9 and hoping it would not crash freeze or mangle the laptop proceeded to do the header for this post. Then… searched through to do some graphics to post – but at the back of me mind have no confidence it getting em finished. Posted them on the left hand side here fer yer to have a goggle at like.

Took a break to have some nosh.

It looked good and smelt good but I couldn’t eat it all – the grumbling rumbling innards have been joined by some dizzy-spells and the haemorrhoids are bleeding again – if I live through to Tuesday I’ll tell them about it at the hospital appointment. Tsk!

Managed to get through to BJ – bless him, say’s he’ll give me a lift to the Post Office on Monday to pick up Shirl’s pressie

Did some more graphicalisationing for blog and TFZers Facebook.

Dizzies still coming and going and I must admit they are of concern.

Tired suddenly, so tired.

Shivering yet sweating now – bloomin’ ‘eck wot next – Hehe.

Might try to do some more graphics and then get me head down.

Inchcock – The Nottingham Lad

Fri 17.4.15 – Inchcock Today – Dizzies

Friday 17th April 2015

Woke late at gone eight, in  a right state.

Still, I reckon I got in a good 7 hours kip last night/this morning.

Made a cuppa and some porridge and took me medications ASAP.

Spilled me tea – swore got scolded on me ankle and went down stairs to make another cuppa – in fact I made a flask of tea this time.

Took a photograph of the ominous looking sky as I returned to start the laptop and do some Facebooking, then finish and post yesterdays Diary.

I found some scribbled notes that I had apparently written in an effort to recall the dreams I’d been having? Had to read them with and very few actual memories of the dreams remaining in my befuddled brain, but here’s the gist of it from the notes wot I had wrote like.

I was running in the countryside, had to get somewhere urgently – came to some houses and ran into the garden – car in the driveway – man and woman came out – I realised I was naked, grabbed a giant nappy and wrapped it around myself – (Can’t read this bit) – pushing the car to get it to start with man and woman inside it, engine fired and they would not let me get in and drove off – Running again on road now caught up with a flat-back Ford Thames lorry stopped at a road junction in village, tried to climb in the back of it – People I felt I knew kept throwing me off the lorry, each time I bounced on giant sponge cake back up into the back of the lorry to be ejected again, this seemed to go on for hours? – A man said something to the others and a tall man with a beard got out a gun and shot me in the head – I floated above the listening to them talking (Can’t recall what they said) for a while and then I found myself on the sea-bed as a shrimp and was eaten by a an eel or snake. That’s all

I cannot really recall making these notes – odd innit?

Did a bit of Facebooking and as I did, felt the warm wet sensation of the bleeding haemorrhoids.

Got up and cleaned myself, noticed more new spots on me legs and arms. Arthur Itis and Anne Gyna were both being kind to me. The coughing continues. The growth on me back remains painful when touched. The reflux valve is not playing up at all yet. Despite me ailment being easier, I have a feeling of apprehension again?

Took me BP and Temp using me new machines: BP: Sys 145 Dys 78 Pulse 83 Temp. 33.3c (91.94f) still no idea what they should all be? I’ll call in the chemists (If I remember) on me walk to the tram later and ask them.

Got missen cleaned up and polished and got the things ready for me walk into town and tram-ride to Hucknall.

Set off, remembering to call at the Chemists to ask the Pharmacist about me BP and Temper readings. She muttered something about not easy, can’t define then said they’ll do.

I thanked her and left.

Down the road and into Gregory Boulevard where I took a shot of the Forest Recreation ground – and the lack of Nottinghomians using it this not so warm windy Saturday morning.

A sturdy couple of Asians, man and wife were braving the weather and having a stroll through with the lady ten paces behind. I thought that’s nice them getting out like that.

I hobbled on, still feeling a tad confused with everything about and around me? Maybe today is the day I lose it? Hehe

Not many folk about at the tram-stop.

Remembered to swipe me pensioners free bus-pass before boarding the very full tram.

I decided to travel to Hucknall first to try and see if I could purchase some of the Marmite breadsticks at the large Tesco store there, as all other places I’ve tried have not had them in stock.

Got into Hucknall and took me life in my hands by following the red painted pedestrian priority route through the massive car park – had to manoeuvre around cars en route to the exit.

Over the road and into the Tesco Extra store.

No Marmite breadsticks in stock, but I did get some Marmite crisps, and Burtons Fish & Chip salt & vinegar biscuits and Lemon Curd pots though.

One of my hearing aids packed up and that made the conversation with the lady on the till a little farcical.

Also got some Tesco brand BBQ beans (50p) to have tonight with me rather delicious looking RibWorld BBQ spare ribs I had delivered via Iceland the other day.

On me hobble back to the tram terminus I had a bit of a nasty dizzy. But it cleared okay.

Got to the tram platform and swiped me card then noticed a Nottinghomian lady taking notice of all the Danger and Warning signs as she almost fell off the platform so deep into reading her free newspaper, she crossed over the line doing this. No jumper on in the wind either, sturdy gal.

In the distance was the tram arriving, at least when I took the photograph – having posted it on here I can’t see it? ‘The Ghost Tram?’

A lot of folk got on the tram and it was standing room only for some – the music echoing from the youngsters machines, the kids screaming balling and mock-crying, the parent in a world of their own on their mobiles. I just sat there and passed wind – involuntarily mind!

I dropped off at Bulwell tram station and took a photo of a tram going in the opposite direction into Hucknall – from behind the Mobile CCTV monitoring van that Group 4 and Derby Security run for the council.

They caught a bloke having a go at the tram driver – they didn’t actually do anything about it though.

My old instincts kicked in from me Security days and I foolishly went over onto the platform to assess the situation, by then the tram had left and the man had gone? I inquired of the lady in the pink coat of what had occurred and it seems it was a bit of fun between the driver and an off-duty driver. Good job too.

Waddled to the bridge over the river into the Front Street and came across a bit of Nottingham Street Art near the barriers.

Surprisingly these still fresh looking chips had not been eaten by the ducks, pigeons or even the sea-gulls!

Doesn’t say a lot for the take-away food shops in Bulwell does it?

Had another dizzy as I walked by the river.

Pavement pedestrians were rife again around here.

If I tried to take a photo of them all me batteries would have ran out – Tsk!

I was going to take a walk around the back road and back into the bus-station but an altercation taking place between some lads outside the pub made me change me mind, and I caught a bus there and then back to Carrington.

Dropped off on Hucknall Road and to the flea-pit – to find a letter from the postman telling me they had tried to deliver a parcel and they had  left it at the local Hucknall Road Post Office for me to collect.

I couldn’t think of any Post office on Hucknall Road so looked it up on the web.

Map on the right is where it is.

It is a pressie for me from Shirley Blamey and Mike Steeden – and will not be easy for me to carry that distance – Local?

Bloody hell what a trek in my condition to carry that back home.

No I’ll never manage that. I’ll have to go begging again to Big John for a lift – gawd how embarrassing. I’ll give him a ring tomorrow and ask him.

WC’d put some cream on me growth in me shoulder and took me medications.

Set about preparing me Spare-ribs and beans.

Had some pickled beetroot with it. It looked delicious…

Well the beans and beetroot were nice – as for the spare-ribs – Eurgh!. Fatty and tasteless, bland.

Won’t be trying them again in a hurry I can tell yers. Huh!

Remember the name: RibWorld – and avoid it to avoid disappointment!

Fell asleep.

Woke an hour or so later – still passing wind involuntarily – Updated this diary.

Did some Facebooking.

No signs of drifting off yet… Tsk!

Thurs 16.4.15: Inchcock Today – New second-hand jacket for Inchy…

Thursday 16th April 2015

Got in a good seven hours dream filled sleep at last. Must have needed it.

Again I can’t recall any of the dreams – damn it!

Took me BP, WC’d and went down and made a flask of tea.

Took a photo of Fatima and Fred as I gave them their breakfast. Started the laptop to put the photograph on here and realised I’d not put me mem card back in the camera. Huh!

The haemorrhoids are stinging somewhat this morning, but no bleeding

Started to create the header and Coreldraw9 froze again! Gnash!

Did a bit of Facebooking and then got missen polished and fer me little hobble to the Nottingham Hospice shop.

Toddled down to the chemist and asked them about whether I could just take the empty packets from the medications with me to the Treatment Centre to save avoid the risk of me losing the medications en route to or from the appointment. All I got was “Mmm, you’d think so!”

I purchased a thermometer while I was there, the instructions looked like Braille to me, so tiny.

I left and started me walk into Sherwood to the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop.

No sunshine today, but it wasn’t windy or cold.

The coughing started again en-route. Tut!

No signs of any pavement cyclists yet – but I was certain to come across one or two later on my walk.

To the top of the hill and took a photo of the skyline.

Very little traffic about – still Mr Mercedes managed to park in the bus lane and near the brow of the hill.

Naughty boy!

Down the hill and up the next one to the Hospice shop and donated me bits and pieces, then purchased a sleeveless jacket that had many pockets in it – one for me free bus-pass, one for me emergency medical card, one for me Warfarin alert card, one for me Police Pegasus at risk card… etc. I just hope when I get it back to the flea-pit there are no holes in the pockets.

Mind you, then I’ve got to remember which thing is in which pocket! Heheh!

And it only cost me £3.

Bit of a bargain… must check it out later for as I say, any holes in the pockets.

Had a bit of a chin-wag with the ladies in the shop and gave them some nibbles in thanks of what they are doing to help others.

Walked back down the hill and was tempted by the wonderful aroma from the cooking at the Nibbles Hot Food take away shop…

I joined the queue and got myself a small tray of Roast Pork an roast potatoes.

I didn’t take this photo, it is a Screen grab from Google maps wot I just used.

I walked on towards the dump and s I was passing near the Post Office on Mansfield Road – I saw a young Pavement Cyclist really clogging it toward me as he weaved speedily and dangerously between and around the pedestrians.

I fumbled to get me camera out and by then he’s gone passed me, I swung round and took a photo blindly but he’s gone by then.

As I walked up the hill I spotted a unique piece of Nottingham Street Art by the side of the wall. No idea what it was but felt it was possibly might have been some sort of goggles?

Mystery Object this one.

I plodded on and at the junction the Nottingham City Police Dog vehicle passed by at great speed with blues and twos activated.

As I approached St Peter’s Church a rapidly moving Pavement Cyclist came passed me very closely and then pressed the pelican lights further up the road and cycled over onto the pavement on the other side of the road. Tsk!

Up Church Drive and through a gang of about 6 wannabe young yobs who threw insults and threats at me as I hobbled through them trying to avoid being hit by one of the footballs they were kicking about while smoking roll-ups?

I’ve learnt better that to reply to these junior scum-merchants baiting – but it irked me to have to just hobble away saying nothing again. Put me on a low that did.

Got in the flea-pit depressed – WC’d and warmed up me take-away meal. Grand it was – marvellous… the roast potatoes were burnt just like wot they are when I had an oven and made em… Mmm!

Laptop on and continued with editing this Diary.

Did some Facebooking then got me head down and within 5 hours I think I nodded off. Tsk!
