Inchcock Today: Monday 31st October 2016: A Day of Pernicketyness

Monday 31st October 2016

In Usbek: Dushanbe 31 Oktabr 2016

Woke up at 0235hrs: In the same position, I fell asleep in. Headphones on the head, remote control for the TV at my right side and the wind-up torch between my legs. The £300 second-hand recliner was on a go-slow, and shuddering with it; But it eventually let me out, in the nick-of-time to get for a WRHD session. Not a good one, bleeding and a hint of constipationalistic none activity were present for a painful while.

Kettle on. Took the medications with an added Senna tablet, made a cuppa and got the computer started. Such a pleasure to load CorelDraw X7 and be able to see what I am downloading. All thanks to Duncan’s visitation yesterday.

Made sure I’d put the Morrison delivery on the Google Diary, noting that today I had the INR Warfarin level blood test at the Sherringham Park Surgery, then the monthly prescriptions to collect from the Chemist. Must take a large bag with me today then.

Finished and posted yesterday’s WordPress diary and started this one off. A real satisfaction in being able to use CorelDraw and see the imports.

Made a start on the ‘Marmite’ article. It will be a photographic gallery of Marmite products, some genuine but a few not so. Just of Marmite lovers really I suppose? Hehe!

Took a while.

Stooped, er, no, stopped for a break and made another strong mug of tea.(Flipping tiny keyboard, I’m forever having to correct mistakes).

I had to open the kitchen window to take this photographicalisation of the misty view outside.

Bonfire Night weather this, that is on for the 5th November.

Getting the window to close was a little harder than opening it was, bruised knuckles as testimony to that!

Got back onto creating the Marmite post. Finally getting it finished and posted, then rushing around doing the ablutions so I could get time to visit Olive on the way out.

Regrettably, she was not in, huh!

Set off on what turned out to be a very little one-way hobble to the surgery and around Carrington. Caught two buses back.

The mist has lifted at last, and it was pleasant and warm with little wind and what there was wasn’t a cold one either.

A jolly pleasant hobble, other than having to make it a fast one to there in time for my appointment), down Chestnut Walk to the bottom of Winchester Street Hill, left down Hood Street. Right to the end of Marshall Street and left down Mansfield Road. Carrying on up and over down over the hill, down into Carrington.

The signs of the season were all over the streets and roads en route.

Arrived with a few minutes to spare in the surgery, signed in and got the crossword book out.

Called in a couple of minutes later and had a great humourous chinwag with the nurse as she took my blood for the INR Warfarin level test.

Out hobbled into Carrington a called in the Lidl shop. Got three large open mushrooms, mini-peppers, seafood sticks, Pork Frikadellens, Gnocchi and some part baked Ciabatta rolls. Along with the other stuff in the bag, it became rather cumbersome. Hehe!

Out and into the chemist to collect the month’s prescriptions – which weighed more than the other bag!

I’d taken a thick empty bag with me. So I carried them both to the bus stop, taking the scenic route around Carrington, just to see the old place. But I could not bring myself to look at the old house on Sherbrooke Road.

Roy, last week in the Laundry Room

I met my fellow tenant Roy waiting at the shelter, to do the same as I, and catch a bus into Sherwood, then another one up to the flats.

We had a good laugh, and he put one of my bags on top of his trolley for me, bless him.

He did comment: Careful you don’t get home to the flat without the bag! Haha!

When we arrived back in Sherwood, we crossed over and found that a bus must be due shortly, because the shelter had been taken over my the flats tenants. There were seven of us, counting Roy and me. I went down the line and donated a chocolate coin to each one. We did have a laugh. Which continued on the bus. Even in the lift going up, although, by then, there were just three of us, Roy, 94-year-old Norman and me.

I had such a good time, I forgot to use the camera. Tsk!

Out of the lift and called on Olive again. No reply, I hope she’s alright. It may be here dinner day with her family perhaps.

To the flat and a much needed WRWW.

Took the midday medications. Put the prescriptions away in the right place and rotated them. Stored the fodder away.

Got the kettle on and set about doing a graphic for Marie in Australia. Thought she might be able to use it in her posts. I’ll not show it here, in case she does.

Went to make another cuppa, the last one got cold.

I noticed how wonderful the Copse looked from the kitchen window, and took this photograph of it, in all of its amazing winter-is-coming colours!

Not many folks about in the woods today.

I got a call from an Asian sounding gentleman and rang off quickly. I thought it might be the hacker again. Then remembered I was paying for withheld numbers to be barred from getting through? So I tried 1471 and was told that 02034574172 was the number ringing. Then, I put this into Google and found many complaints about this number. Hundreds of comments about the caller wanting to ask just three questions. People discovered that they were charged for the call. So be aware my friend, please.

Then I tried to find out if I could buy a caller display landline phone, but many pages gave differing answers.

But I could not find if it was possible to buy a Virgin compatible caller ID display landline?

The trouble is, every time I’ve been into the Virgin Media showroom they have told me to call their helpline, and with my hearing difficulties, and the chance of me making a mistake, it is no an option for me.

I suppose I’ll have to call on them again, but don’t hold out much hope of any help.

Popped out to see if Olive was in yet. No, not in.

Did some Facebooking.

Nipped back to see Olive, not in, bet it is her dinner day, maybe?

Fodder. I got the meal ready.

But what is it? I’ll put a competition photo on Facebook in the morning. Clue, the shell-like things are something I’ve never tried before? Or maybe not.

Consumed the meal, washed up and visited Olive again, crossed fingers.Olive

Olive answered the door. I asked if she was alright and she told me she’s just shut her living room door to get some peace for the day. Oh, dear. Hope she didn’t mean I was calling too often, cause I’d not called on her for two days? We had a chinwag and she told me she would not be available tomorrow, she’s out all day with the family. Gave her a peck said my farewells and limped back to the flat, just a touch depressed.

Making a mug of tea as the day faded, the sky lifted me a bit.

Once again, I settled in the recliner and put on the gogglebox only to fall asleep in minutes.

Inchcock Today Sunday 30th October 2016: Sir Duncan to the Rescue!

Sunday 30th October 2016

In Swahili: Jumapili Oktoba 30, 2016

Woken at 0330hrs, wrote a scribbled note on my pad about the dreams I’d been having. Unfortunately, when I rose at 0400hrs and disentangled myself from the rickety £300 second-hand recliner chair and made for the porcelain and a WRHD session, not a pleasant one, and returned, I could not make out much of my writing! And the memories had evaporated into the ether. Canal, boat sinking, Marie, Lyzzi, Sausages, sleeping bag and coffin were the only words I was sure of? I do hate it when this happens, Tsk!

Took the medications, made a strong mug of tea, dropping the milk as I put it back into the fridge. Made a right mess! As I cleared it all up, I realised that the ailments that attacked me so badly yesterday morning, well, all bar Duodenal Daniel, were friendly and calm. Naturally, an hour or so after thinking this, Anne Gyna kicked off! Humph!

Started this diary off and later I went for a WRWW and to make another brew. While doing so, I thought I’d take a shot from the kitchen window. I put the selector on a different option for scenery and took this photograph.

No idea what else I must have done to the settings, but this one must go in my ‘Favourite Photo’s I’ve Taken’ album on Facebook.

How I got the arthritic fingers and camera in the shot beats me! Can’t wait to show it to Duncan later. In fact, I’ll try to get a photo of Duncan put on it now, using CorelDraw (If it lets me that is). Back in a bit.

Blimus, I had a hell of a job finding a photo of Duncan to use. This reminded me that PC World, have they got the things they saved from the old computer and charged me £100 to do it yet? Been a week now, but I must be patient, better I get any files back, and they are not infected with the Hackers virus.

Must take some more photographicalisations of Duncan today.

Eventually, I got it done, though.

I vignetted the original file on Duncan’s photo, then applied an orange drop-shadow.

Mildly pleased with the outcome. (Smug mode adopted at this stage). But of course, no point in saving it, because CorelDraw will not let me view it to reload it.

I tried another doctorisation of the photograph then.

Hope he likes them, he might be able to use one or the other on his website do you think?

Is he a handsome brute; he is? Been retired a while now, and I bet he is not regretting it in the least.

Did some Facebooking, cause I won’t have time later when we start trying to sort out the computer. Plenty of lovely messages, it took me hours, but I enjoyed it.

Another message up on the screen.

Persevered with the CorelDraw graphicalisationing on a TFZer known as  Betty from Houston.

She is on a touring holiday at the moment and in Santa Fe.

It is her Birthday today, so I set about creating a message for her.

Hope she has a fabulous day.

Got the ablutions done and went down to the lobby to meet Duncan when he arrives.

No sooner had I arrived there, and Duncan pulled up.

Duncan was wearing his Robertson Tartan kilt, and I was so happy to see him approaching the foyer door, I nearly burst out with loud ‘Yahoo!’

Greetings and we went up to the flat, some of the female residents showing interest in Dunc’s kilt, or that area, as we passed them. Hehe!

A cup of tea was made between the chatting and my finding out how he was going and what he was getting up to, in general.

Dunc soon sorted out what needed attention and started with the printer, he soon had it working, and we did a test page. Smashing!

After many hours investigating ways to try to get CorelDraw to let me view the files on loading or viewing. Dunc got into Windows and changed some settings, but that didn’t work.

He then got on the web and searched methodically for advice tips etc. on various sites. He tried a couple, but they did not work either.

After hours of searching and frustration, Dunc got into the Control Panel and tried in there to get it solved.

A welcome break and another cuppa and I gave Dunc his pressies, and we talked about (Well, I interviewed him) things other than computer related. Glad to find he is still in an arrangement shall we say, with Diana, his recently adopted lady friend.

I’m glad to report that he has taken to retirement like a duck to water and is so happy! Great!

Back to the grindstone, trying to get Coreldraw to view graphics – what a mammoth and frustrating job this is turning out to be. I told him I’d tried the advice I found on the Helpline page of CorelDraw, and this did not solve the problem (Obviously). We tried it again, lengthy procedure, we had to find the CorelDraw suite in Control Panel, click to Remove or Adjust, then after a few selections to choose from, including options for ‘Repair or Modify’ I chose Repair, we ran it. But it made no changes.

Duncan tried a few more things that I didn’t understand, a bit technical these were.

Still, no success and Duncan was getting frustrated and tired too now. Bless him and his efforts for me.

We tried the Control Panel thingy again, this time I chose the Modify option. I think I cried with joy… Success!

I could have kissed Duncan but thought better of it. He’s a big lad yer know, Hehe!

Over the moon, thanked Dunc’ the lad and then I had to ask him to watch over me again while I try once more to get the new Cash card to be accepted by Morrisons so I could order some fodder. He also read the small print on the bank’s letters out to me.

Then he patiently watched resisting laughing each time I made an error, and we soon had the card accepted by Morrisons.

What a mate I have!

Walked a weary Duncan back to his car, had a natter, thanked him again and off home, he went. A long drive ahead of him, and all to help me out. I felt humbled.

Back to the flat, and sorted out an order from Morrisons, to be delivered Wednesday 2nd November twixt 0730>0830hrs. Put this on the Google Diary straight away.

I was mentally shattered now, I bet Duncan is too. After all, that hassle and bother sorting me out. Got the meal going, nothing too complicated, I was too drained to bother with anything fancy that needed proper cooking.

I did meat dumplings, and potato farls in the oven, with seasoned baked beans, and a packet of sweet potato crisps – the crisps were uneatable, though, Urgh!

Had the evening medications with it and a glass of tomato juice.

The plan from here on was to settle in the £300 second-hand recliner chair and watch some TV – this didn’t happen. I fell asleep within minutes of turning on the goggle-box…

Inchcock Today Saturday 29th October 2016: Computerisationing nearly all day long

I came across this Poem while searching for something else this morning. I thought it was so gentle, and unpretentious; I’d like to share it with you all.

Saturday 29th October 2016

In Norwegian: Lørdag 29 Oktober 2016

Awake, wide awake, at 0400hrs, out of the rickety £300 second-hand recliner chair and to the wetroom porcelain for a painful and bloody WRHD session. Not a good start I thought?

Anne Gyna and Roger Reflux had both decided to give me some stabbing gip this morning. By the time I was out of the WC, a new pain had developed on the top left-hand side of the chest, never had this one before. Worra start eh? After the great health day yesterday too. Tsk!

Medications were taken, along with an extra painkiller and ulcer juice.

Got the washing collated and in the bag to go down to the laundry room. In the washer and back up to do some WordPressing. Half an hour later and down again to move the clobber into the dryer. Roger Reflux and Anne Gyna both going along with me. Back up the lift and on the computer again.

0545hrs, back down and collected the dried washing, cleaned the filter and up a final time and stored the things away.

Took some more anti-ulcer medicine and another pain-killer, only an extra 30g Codeine, don’t want to take any diamorphine, although I’ll see how it goes. Not had pain like this for a long time. Yesterday I woke up feeling free and so happy with the ailments all giving me a break, this morning they seem to be in an irritable Let’s-give-the-old-fart a bad- time mood. Even the toes were painful now? Hehehe! Still, Arthur Itis appears to be losing interest in my knees and ankles a bit. Why he wanted to attack my wrists, I don’t know, but I rubbed in some Phorpain gel that seemed to have done the trick within half an hour.

Many WRWWs again this morning, but that’s nothing new.

0700hrs: Cleaned the micro-fibre cloth and scolded the back on my hand: I was not surprised in the least. Collected the empty glass jars, pickled egg, ulcer medicine bottle and a pickled mushroom container. I thought it would be a good idea to have nip down and out of the lobby and a hobble down to the recycling bins with them, and try to take a photograph in the dark outside.

Got down into the reception area and decided it would be best if I go back up to the flat and collect the camera! So I did. What a Wally I am!

Up to number 72, got the camera and down again and out down to the end of Chestnut Walk to the recycling bins.

All done by 0730hrs. I enjoyed the little amble, nobody else about at all. Plenty of lights on at many flat windows mind.

Not windy or too cold either.

It had been raining earlier; I worked this out by seeing rain on the roads and bins you know. Hehehe

The toes were aching a bit, but Arthur Itis was still sociable with my knees and ankles bless him.

I can’t understand how the chest pains seemed to evanesce then return when I got back to the apartment? Any suggestions please doctors? Haha!

Started to update this diary and do some pathetic graphics, pathetic; due to my not being able to import certain formats of pictures. Tsk!

Seven and a half hours later, I’d managed to do eleven graphics for the TFZers site.

This photograph is of the first one done on the right.

There were so much more that I wanted to do, but the hassle of CorelDRAW not working properly was driving me mad.Even after

Even after I’d reloaded an old version in the foolish hopes that this might work. Lost a lot of time there too.

Opened Facebook and posted each one to the TFZers gallery. Then did some regular Facebooking.

Getting many messages I must ask Duncan about when he visits. They all confuse me a bit, especially the orange exclamation marks?

Must get the ablutions done soon.

Sorted the medication pots out for the week. Took tonight’s dose.

Got the dumplings in the oven.

Then got on with the ablutions, a good shave with only two cuts, Colgate Gelled the teggies that bled a bit, a great scrub under the shower Hehe!

And into the jammies and got the meal finished off! Well, that was the plan, but I’d forgotten to turn on the oven earlier. So I turned it on now and potted around as it warmed sufficiently, then put the cheesy buttered mashed potatoes and dumplings back in the oven. Tsk!

Finally, it was ready.

Crock-pot vegetables, cheesy mashed potatoes, tomatoes and the meat filled dumplings.

A bit of BBQ sauce (Overdid that, lost control of my squirt, Haha!) and a Cox’s apple and vanilla imitation cream dessert to follow.

The dumplings looked pale and insipid; that’s why I suppose they tasted tasteless? Shame. I ate it all, though, just hope the dumplings don’t aggravate the ulcer or reflux valve. Not complaining now, though, apart from the old Duo Denal ulcer the ailments were all calming down now.

Not the foggiest what meat was inside of them? But it didn’t taste bad, it’s just that it didn’t taste of anything much? As opposed to the cheese filled ones at least.

Looking forward to seeing Duncan tomorrow.

Washed up the things, and on settling to watch some gogglebox programmes, the nodding off started.

Hey-ho!

Inchcock Today Thursday 27th October 2016: Some wonderful photographicalisationing today

Computer problems remain

Thursday 27th October 2016

In Zulu: ULwesine 27 October 2016

Up 0400hrs WRHD. Dreamt about boats, fast streams in hills, people in pyjamas flying above, old wooden Chloros bleach crates floating in the creek amidst shop mannequins?

WRHD session without any hiatus.

Took medications and made a brew. Computer turned on and set to trying to solve the mysteries of setting it up to work properly.

Many hours later, I gave up trying to solve the mysteries of setting the computer up to work properly. No success at all.

Did the WordPress diaries. Then graphicalisationing.

Decided to go to Hucknall today, bus to town, tram out to Tesco, all to see if they sell the potato dumplings that I bought the over week, and enjoyed so much, And now, I can’t remember where I got them from. Terribly sad innit? Also, to get some of their sliced sourdough bread to replace the uneatable one I bought from Asda-Walmart yesterday.

Popped to see Olive, but no answer.

Did the ablutions and readied the things for the Tenants Social Hour at the Community Hut.

Down to the meeting, and what a meeting it was, farcical, amusing, laughter filled and frustrated all at the same time sometimes.

The raffle turned out like it usually does. I donated three prizes, a box of chocolates, a large Oreo pack and an Antiperspirant spray.

No Bill Two or Toni today. So, Eddy, BJ and Bill One were with me at the table. Prize winners? BJ: 4, Bill: 3, Eddy: 3, and as normal, Inchcock 0. Hehe! Handed out the nibbles and had a natter here and there.

Representatives from Willmott Partnership Homes arrived, and someone gave a speech, but I couldn’t hear owt they were saying. I spontaneous round of applause rang out, I joined in but didn’t know why they were clapping? BJ explained they had donated some money to the Tenants Social Team. At this, they picked out the tenants they wanted in the photo with their team members, and I took a photograph of them. They selected (Rightly so I thought) the oldest residents there. Eddy (93) Bill (85) centre and May (90).

Obergruppenfurheress Jenny invited BJ to come to the Tenant’s Meal, and he’ll let me know next week. Nice that.

I made my way to the bus stop.

Opposite, were some workmen drilling one of the four holes (Something to do with the water supply) in the ground in readiness to start the upgrading of the buildings:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yShvgXZQBTs

It’s gonna be mayhem when the building crews arrive with the machinery, vans, lorries, diggers, etc. And it is anticipated that up to sixty men will be working at any one time, where do the park their own cars?

Caught the L9 bus into town. Walked down Queen Street into the Slab Square.

Where the continental market was again open, so many stalls and busy for once.

Plenty of choices foodwise, not that I liked the look of some of the stalls with open food and all the ladybirds and pigeons flying around.

Not too impressed with this.

As I got to the Tram Stop, ambulances fire engines and police cars arrived and seemed to be driving all over the place?

I’ve not the foggiest what had occurred or happened, mind.

The Nottingham shoplifters seemed unconcerned.

The tram was cram-packed, and I was lucky to get a seat. Squashed between a rather large lady and a chap in a wheelchair.

Arriving at Hucknall terminus, I wobbled out across the Park &Ride car park, up the road and across to the Tesco store and started searching, without any success, for the Polish potato dumplings. I did get two Sourdough sliced loaves, and some Irish Farls, though. I can now report, that this store also has cream cakes that automatically jump into one’s shopping basket!

On the walk to the tram station, I noticed this sign on the left, outside a pet superstore.

Caught the tram back to town.

This time it was not crowded at all, in fact, when it started off from Hucknall, it had only three passengers on it!

I got the crossword book out and spent the journey going through the puzzles I’d not finished and managed rather surprisingly, to get two of them completed.

By the time the tram arrived in the City Centre, it was once again cram-packed, and it was a bit of a job to get through the students and shoplifters to get off of it at the Royal Centre stop.

As I walked towards the L9 bus stop, a Nottingham Pavement Cyclist was a gnat’s breath away from hitting me! Swine!

He then shot though some pedestrians, as they crossed the road over the tram lines, weaving in between them at great speed. A chap with a beard gave him some verbals.

Note that the Nottinghamians were dressed warmly today.

As I walked around a bit to kill some time before the bus was due, I observed the buses manoeuvring around Queen and King Street.

It amazes me how the drivers get their buses through at all sometimes.

If there is ever a fire around here, it will cause havoc with the bus service?

Caught the L9. And Bill from the flats got on at the next stop. We had out usual absurdly comical to others, chinwag. Neither of us knowing for sure what the other one was saying. Hehehe!

Back in the flat, medications were taken then slippers on, WRWW, and got the dinner cooking. A lamb chop, last of the seasoned hot-pot vegetables, potato farls, small potatoes, Yorkshire puddings with extra gravy, a banana and a cream cake.  (Ther one that jumped into my basket at the shop and was reduced from 99p to 59p) Oh, and some sourdough bread slices.

Read some of the Clarkson book. (I must get a reading lamp, mind you, I still need a high computer chair too).

Watched some TV, all of it in episodes of a few minutes, before I gave up and drifted off in no time.

Inchcock Today Tuesday 25th October 2016: Photographicalisationing once again, after a moody shot

Last night’s Sun goes down and with it, my hopes of ever getting the new computer running correctly?

Tuesday 25th October 2016

In Malay: Selasa 25 Oktober 2016

Up and into the porcelain room by 0310hrs. WRHD, no bleeding, no pain and this was a good start to the day. Took the morning medications.

Remembered to do the laundry early. Got the coins, accoutrements and sprayed into the bag. Down to the laundry room and got the washer going on short cycle.

Up to the flat and tried to get the CorelDraw application changed to read and display CDR format on the files. Failed.

Down again to move the clothes into the dryer.

For some reason, the clothes were very wet, much more soaked than usual when I took them out?

Maybe I had overfilled the washer?

Up the lift back to number 72, made a cuppa. WRWW and tried again to get the CorelDRAW X8 reinstalled with options changed. Failed.

Started to update the diaries and overshot the time to go and gather the washing. Popped down to collect and clean the place a bit.

Wiped the surfaces, sprayed the freshener around and took the gear out of the dryer and folded them into the bag. As I was doing this, Roy from the 11th floor arrived to do his washing.

We had a god chinwag and a laugh, put the world to rights and a little mutual moan.

I went back up with my washing and returned down later to give him a photo I’d taken of him on the bus months ago and take the shot above right.

WRWW and had a bash to see if Facebook would allow me to use it. Amazing, apart from freezing twice and telling me that Google Chrome had run out of memory, please restart (Tsk!) it was okay, so I got caught up and enjoyed doing it. Just hope things stay this way for a bit longer.

Got ready, ablutions, etc. and got out to the bus stop for a ride into town and got some of the Surimi prawns from Waitrose and some Sour Dough bread from Tesco. And, if possible to get a moody photograph.

In town, I made my way to Tesco.

Battling limping through the maddening crowds and over the crossing, narrowly avoiding a Pavement Cyclist as he rode over Upper Parliament Street scooting in between and around the unconcerned pedestrians.

Through Victoria Centre (Mall) and got some stuff from Tesco. The most important being the Sour Dough Bread, I’ve actually taken to the taste of this now. Two loaves, one for the freezer. A TV paper, a jar of mushrooms in vinegar, Longlife milk, bacon rashers, cheddar cheese, seafood sticks, an individual beef pie and do you know, it might be hard to believe I understand this, well, it is hard to accept, but a box of two Fresh Cream French Horns fell into the shopping basket on the way around!

Paid the ankle-snapper on the till, and made my way put and through some more crowds of Homo-Sapiens.

Arrived at the Waitrose store, but they had none of the Surami fish in stock for me, but never mind, I was feeling a tad guilty about keeping the Fresh Cream French Horn cakes that unexpectedly fell into my bag anyway. Ahem!

As the sun shone towards me, I took a photograph that I thought might be a moody one.

On Milton Street.

It didn’t turn out too bad do you think?.

I struggled up the hill into Trinity Square and checked the price of the American Jewellery Set I’d photographed the other day and put onto the TFZ site asking if any of the members could guess the value in US Dollars.

AS I turned at the top into the Square proper like, this chappie was puffing on one of the new electronic cigarettes, they don’t half give out some vapour, don’t they?

What next will they blame on E-Vapers. Global Warming?

If you look up both photographs, you’ll see a bloke in the distance smoking one as well. I had a nosey in one of the many Vapour shops in the area. It seems there are many different kinds or types of alternatives on offer. Blooming fantastic for them I reckon. They even have electronic cigars and pipes too! I assume that the black box one is one that is charging up? They seem to have been taken too in Nottingham, and why not if they taste alright. The flavours are amazing in choice. Here’s just some of them on sale:

Ribena, Lime & Lemon, Blackcurrant, Apple, Coffee, Banana, etc. they even have one here in tobacco flavour?

As I approached the bus stop on Queen Street, I got another shot in that might be considered a moody one?

Or maybe not, though.

Had a lovely chat with a lady at the bus stop, and we carried on on the bus for the whole journey, until she got off of course. Not only did I enjoy listening to her, but it helped to keep me from nodding off. Hehehe!

Took a photograph of the Community Hut/Shed from the bus as we passed it by. It won’t be there much longer, they tell me that is the first thing to get rebuilt in the modernisation procedure over the next three years.

Got in, WRWW, shoes off, kettle on, medications took, food stored away, and started the computer going. Waiting for it to boot up I nipped to see Olive, but she was not in, today must be her Scrabble day.

Got in, WRWW, shoes off, kettle on, medications took, food stored away, and started the computer going. Waiting for it to boot up I nipped to see Olive, but she was not in, today must be her Scrabble day.

CorelDraw and Windows took most of the next two hours up, without any progress being made. Still, I can’t view graphics before they load, and a lot of organising still needs to be done with the desktop, the printer I can’t get connected, and messages still appear now and then that can’t understand.

Decided to update this and get the photographs sorted, another two hours were gone.

Got the beef pie and potatoes in the oven cooking away, then I tried Facebooking again, fingers crossed. All going good, some lovely comments again.

Into the nightwear. Took the evening medications.

Went to check on the fodder – Humph! I’d not put the oven on!

Got the oven going then did a bit more Facebooking while it warmed up,

I am a silly old fool!

Beetroot, egg, garden peas, seasoned potatoes, mushrooms and a beef pie I punctured and poured delicious gravy into and then over the potatoes.

A tasty meal, although I made a right mess of the tray, my jammies and chin with the spilt gravy!

Cleaned the cooking pots and settled in the more than ever shaking £300 second-hand recliner to watch some TV. Continual nodding-off sessions until 2100hrs when the film was starting, and into a deep dream-filled sleep; Didn’t even get beyond the introduction bit of the movie.

Inchcock Today: Saturday 22nd October 2016: Papplewick Pumping Station 1940’s Show visited

Saturday 21st October 2016

In Finnish: Lauantai 21 lo kak uu 2016

0400hrs: The wobbly £300 second-hand recliner shudderingly let me out and allowed me to go for a WWHD session, not a good one, blood bled! Hehehe!

Made a cuppa and took the medications. Remembered that BJ and Dave would be calling for me later to take me out to the Papplewick Pumping Station 1940’s Show, so got on with doing this and then some more sorting with the new computer.

Searching for the code number for Serif, I came across an old Paint CD and loaded it onto the machine. Took a while, and when I tried to use it, I found it very confusing and made a right mess of the first effort. I just pray that the PC people can retrieve the code number for CorelDraw so I can try to get it back on the system, lost without it, no proper graphicalisationing now. Humph! Depressed!

Carried on with the diaries for a few hours.

Tried to get the printer working again, but told I had to download two more apps and register, so I did, it took an hour or more. Epson Photo Print, E-Web Print and recorded again, had to restart each time!

Still not working, but it will let me copy from the scanner?

The blue question mark has a yellow exclamation mark on it still, so I opened it.

Had to download two more things in the hope that I could get the printer going. Then I had to download a thing that should connect the printer with Google Chrome?

Still not working, but it will still let me copy from the scanner?

Then I got an email from Epsom: Gmail couldn’t verify that hpeprint.com actually sent this message (and not a spammer).

To complete your HP ePrint Mobile account registration, enter the PIN code below in Preferences window of HP ePrint Mobile. PIN Code: XXXX

So, I went through the performance again and supposedly got it connected, at least in the end it told me I had!

But it didn’t work!

So, I fiddled about and managed to find the elusive email address after several email requests and loss of a large slice of my sanity.

Followed the instructions again and what do you think happened after this effort?

After much more helpline usage on the computer, through HP and Epson, I did manage to find the page.

Where several more options were required to be entered.

By now, what little power was left in the old brain was tiring and draining away.

I really thought after yet another restart, this would be it, surely?

No. Silly me!

I’ve already registered with this division as requested early on yesterday morning when I first started in my failed attempt to get the printer working.

I may have to get a printer that I can connect with a USB cable, I was under the impression this had one, but no.

Still, no printer available that works!

Exhausted, weary, worn out, spent and failed, foiled, thwarted and frustrated – I gave up. Made a cuppa, considered suicide and went for a wee-wee. Hehe!

Then I got this email on the right?

No idea what the app was???

No more time to spend on this, I can do no more anyway.

Huh!

I got ready the things for the trip out with BJ and David and had a shave and shower.

Went down to wait for BJ and David in the Foyer at 1220hrs. BJ rang at 1235hrs to say he’s on his way. Went to the end of Chestnut Walk and met them. Both in good spirits, I joined them in the car, and we were off on the way to Papplewick.

There was a tiny rainbow I photographed. But it’s hard to see.

We arrived at Papplewick, and I was told my Membership Dues needed paying.

Along the drive with some old cars parked up to be shown off. Then further up where the passes were being checked by imitation German policemen and soldiers looked impressive.

This Ford car had its engine bonnet open and on display. Amazing! At the end of the path were these old motorbikes, I hope Kev Collins sees these.

In the working boiler house, there were some stalls selling old stuff, toys, games, puzzles, books, models, magazines, etc. I was not tempted to get anything of course, due to my having to pay my dues and not having my new debit card yet, I only have £11 left in my coffers. (Ah-well).

One of the best sights of the day was near an area where they have an artist dressed in period clothing who sings the old songs for an hour or so. I enjoyed listening ti him last year, so I made a note of the starting times for later.

This photograph above is all the more interesting to me because it was taken well before the artist was due to start. They had left some tunes playing through a sound system. Two ladies started dancing to the music, and people of all sorts joined in. I felt a bit sorry for myself then, cause I’d have loved to have danced along with them, but Arthur Itis forbids me dancing nowadays. Sad!

Everyone, enjoying themselves so much it seemed, and all took the time to have a natter.

The miniature railway was doing good business.

BJ photo I took later, just after the rain. The step in the boiler house behind were where I got stuck when sheltering with many others from the mini storm.

Unfortunately, just as the mock battle was about to start, it poured down and the wind got strong. That didn’t stop them, though, although it stopped me. Hehe!

I found a semi-sheltered spot with so many others, top of the steps into the Engine House for ten minutes or so while the downpour persisted.

Then when it  came to me getting down again, I felt a right clot as two ladies had to assist me to get down again.

Thanked them, and with a red face, I limped away.

David and BJ near the steps of the boiler house. The original National Fire Sevice Tea Wagon behind was supplied in 1941 by the Canadian Red Cross Society, I hope Pat Melsted Cabot reads and see this photo.

Another rainbow appeared, this time a little larger.

The trees were looking absolutely wonderful.

For a while I forgot about the computer problems, but as soon as BJ suggested going home, and my knees ankles and feet agreed, Huh!, the thought of them returned.

I need help here with the computer and printer, badly. Facebook still not letting me do owt, CorelDraw unobtainable until and if I get the code retrieved, all sorts of warnings and emails about things I just don’t understand, all the gloom returned again!

Seeing this ode on the window of one of the lorries made me stop and think a bit.

If I have to give up on the computer and live without it, I’ll miss the TFZers a lot.

Maybe it is meant to be, my losing these things?

But compared to all that so many men have had to go through in the wars?

It’s nothing.  But I’ll no doubt continue begging for help anyway.

We were soon back in Sherwood, with BJ dropping me off at the flats then taking David home.

Farewells and I got into the flat and a WRHD session, shoes off, dinner prepared.

The worst one I’ve ever done methinks. But the potato pancakes, apple and lemon yoghourt were okay. It was just everything else that I got wrong. Being so tired, this didn’t seem to bother me much, I remembered the medications, though.

Getting to sleep was no problem for a change.

Tuesday 18th October 2016: To Bulwell today, using the Bus-Pass of course!

Tuesday 18th October 2016

Terça-feira 18 de Outubro de 2016

Awakened with a start around 0200hrs. Been dreaming something about climbing mountains or hills with stops to climb down and get an ice-cream from a Stop-me-and-buy-one cyclist, who was a different person each time I climbed down. When  I got back up the ice-cream had melted so I went back down again for another? There were a lot more in the dreams, but no details available in my brain.

Decided that, as I was up so early, I’d get to the laundry room and sort the washing out. Out of the £300 second-hand wobbly recliner chair and a WRWW had to be done. Got the laundry assembled and off down to the foyer to get them started.

Back up to the apartment and brewed a mug of tea. Took the medications, not thinking what time it was, so early, so I’ll take tonight’s doses early too if I remember to, that is.

Got the laptop on, it was running a bit slow?

0345hrs: Down to move the clothes into the dryer machine. Someone had not cleaned out the filter on it again, Naughty!

Back up again, and got CorelDraw and WordPress loaded and made a start on graphics to use and the diaries. The hour soon passed, and it was time to return to the Woodthorpe Court Laundry Room and collect the things. Got them out, cleaned the filter and drum, back up for another WRWW. Sorted the laundry things into their departments in the airing cupboard and on the hooks in the hallway. Hall, I say?

28″ wide, dim and some very handily designed Inchock Whoopsiedangleplop Dangers built into it, too. The front entry intercom situated thinkingly next to the Wetroom where, passing it, I frequently hit it with my shoulder and knock it off. The perfectly placed electrical box’s, designed for me to come into contact with around my head area. The shower power box on the right-hand side, flawlessly set at nose height to facilitate a more dangerous type of injuries and damage to spectacles. Bending down in this area can result in damage to one’s rear-end and concurrently cause bruising or bleeding to the head.

Just thought I’d mention it like. Hehe!

When I got back on the laptop, amid using three programmes simultaneously, the laptop froze! I waited a while, but nothing moved, so had to force close the machine. Gave it decent few minutes, then tried to start her up – but nothing happened… depression and disappointment and frustration overcame me at this stage. I turned everything off, went for a WRHD session.

Found out that the new Senna tablets are working well! Phwoar did they just!

Tried again to start the laptop up… very slowly it did start this time. I decided to see how I can turn on the touch-pad, so, while it was working, I did a search on Google and followed the instruction given. But, where they said the Model details would be, was just a Change word that did nothing when clicked on.

However, I  did discover that I had an Acer Intel Pentium(R) CPU N3540 @ 2.16GHz 1.15GHz. Whatever that means, but it looked good?

Slowly the laptop got up her speed, and things seemed to be okay, and are, up to now anyway.

0600hrs: Made another cuppa and the rain came down. hope it clears before I have to go out.

Emails perused and answered. Sent a photo of the measurements of the TV to Pete as requested.

So he might get an idea of what size would suit me bestest.

I measured the distance from the £300 second-hand recliner chair, it was about 8½ft.

Hand a bash on Facebooking for a while. Made and sent some greetings.

Cup of tea, well, a mug, then got into the wetroom for ablutionalisationing!

Called to see Olive, but no answer, might be her Scrabble Day?

Went down to the bus stop and noticed that the flowers some tenants had planted near the garages over the road, were still trying to battle through and blossom. Nature is marvellous.

Caught the L9 Bus town into town, then a number 17 bus out to Bulwell centre.

Bulwell Market was scarcely used, most folk there were passing by or through it. Not surprising, the stalls all looked bereft of any quality foods.

No rain at the moment, the sun coming through strongly, but without any heat with it?

Reminded me of the old Law & Order episodes.

Called in the Out-of-Date-but-Cheap shop. Not much in, but I got some Heinz Curried beans, 3 cans for £1.

Moved on to the Fulton Food Store, spent a bit there and filled the bag up. 2×10 Blackcurrant and Vanilla suckers, their last four packets of Roka 30% cheddar cheese sticks (The Tenants will love these as raffle prizes… I hope) and two cans of Stewed Steak in Gravy, t only £1 each. These I could use with the Yorkshire Puddings adding my own delicious gravy mix to it?

Then into the B&M store, in the vain hope of getting some of the cans of Goulash, but they didn’t have any.

So through the market and fed the mallards on the Leen river.

Fed the Mallards, but not many were interested in eating today? Most of them were near the far wall in the Lee to avoid the strong current, and or, escape the sunshine? Turned the hearing aids up to max to listen to their, to me, incredible quacking. But the traffic, swearing kids on the park and emergency vehicle sirens and klaxons took over.

Caught the tram, dropping off at Asda-Walmart on Hyson Green, to try and get some of the Nordic Style Bacon again. I was told they are no longer able to get the product! Could have cried, so delicious it was too! Got some Zywiecka, tomatoes, Lamb Hot Pot, TV paper and Polish Potato Dumplings. With heavy bags, I departed and caught the tram into town.

I don’t fall asleep on the trams you know, only the buses. Not surprising really, the seats are tiny, plastic, bendable, uncomfortable and when the tram goes over the line junctions, you can actually see people grabbing on to anything unmovable on an effort not to be unseated! Hehe!

Worked out brilliant with the timing as it happened, I hobbled from the tram stop over the road to the L9 bus stop on Queen Street, and the L9 arrived within a minute!

Bill, from the flats, got on and we had a farcical semi-conversation, neither of us really knowing what the other one was saying, guessing at what to reply to each other.

Glad he was on the bus, though, in case I nodded off and missed the Woodthorpe bus stop again. Hehe!

A lady reminded me of the meeting with the builders tomorrow at 0400hrs and said I should attend. The last one I went to was most embarrassing, couldn’t hear what anyone was saying.

Found a poster put through the door when I got back to 72. Another meeting had been called.

A WRWW, took the medications, made a brew, and got on with preparing the meal. Poached eggs, potatoes, quiche, beetroot, tomatoes and some Polish cooked ham. Got

Didn’t half take ages to get the washing up done, the poacher pan took the longest. All the utensils seemed to have got egg liquid, that didn’t want to be removed all over them.

Sister Jane and Olive had both warned me about this happening, and dead right they were too! Haha!

So tired after I cleaned up, but glad I’d got the laundry done early and out of the way.

Tried to watch the third Star Trek Movie. Pointless, more rewinding than watching, so I got my head down.

Inchcock Today Thursday 13th October 2016: Tenants Hour today

Thursday 13th October 2016

Woke with a start at 0240hrs. Wide awake! The dreams that were so fresh in my mind had evaporated within seconds. Tsk!

Disentangled my body from the £300 second-hand recliner and to the porcelain for a WRHD session. No bleeding again, so that was good.

A look out of the kitchen window. The decision to do the laundry while I was feeling so good, was made. So, I added the jeans and towel to the other stuff in the bag already and popped down to the laundry room with them and the coins needed.

I’d noticed a workman yesterday in there, re-drilling the window bars. Now I know what he was doing. He’d opened the window at the top and removed the key, so it now stays permanently open. Condensation problems I thought perhaps? I didn’t appreciate this at all, and the thermometer read 6°c – 42.7°f… not exactly warm this morning. But then again, it is October.

Got the washing going and checked the time on the foyer wall clock 0305hrs, so it should be done by 0335hrs, as I did them on the Quick setting (30 minutes). Up to the flat and started to update the diaries.

0335hrs: Back down with the cleaners and timed it nicely, just finishing as I got it the room. Moved the clothes into the dryer and checked the filter had been cleaned, started it at 0340hrs, so this should be done in an hour.

Up again to the laptop, via a quick WRWW session (Hehe!).

0445hrs: Back down again. Got the gear sorted and folded into the bag. Cleaned the filter out, wiped the machines, bin and sink area and returned to make a cup of tea upstairs.

Did a lot of graphicalisationing on CorelDraw X8 in readiness to use later, then started off today’s diary. A few WRWW’s followed, Tsk!

0635hrs: Took the medications, and cleaned the saucepans that I’d removed the potatoes from.

I was going to get the Crock-Pot going but realised I had not got any vegetables other than onions to use. Decided it would be the last two chicken thighs for fodder today. I can use a tin of the garden peas, already got the potatoes to eat cold, with it, beetroot in the jar ready too. And the bread rolls I bought yesterday. I might have a forage around in the cupboards later to see if I have owt else to garnish it with. But, then again, I have the fish sticks and prawn tails? Decisive is not a word to describe me at all. Tut!

Spent some hours on Facebooking. BJ rang me to get him some raffle tickets at the Tenants Social as he will be late arriving.

Spent a couple more hours WordPressing and on CorelDraw X8. Then off to the Tenants Meeting. There was a decent crowd today, but I forgot (I thought at the time) the camera! Humph!  BJ arrived. No Toni today, hope she’s alright. The ulcer started to play up.

After the raffle, of which on our table, Eddy won three, Grumpy Bill two, BJ two, Nice Bill four and me none! Nothing unusual there then. I had a good gabfest, though. Hehe!

I left early to get some Aludrox substitute down me back at the flat. Had a good guzzle and noticed the rain had eased off a lot. So I foraged about and got things ready to go to the Aldi store on Woodborough Road.

Caught the L8 bus. The rain had stopped again, and the trees looked so wonderful.

Up to Mapperley Top and wobbled along to the Aldi store. As I dropped off, the rain came down. Spent ages wondering around the shop and ended up getting some cheese topped rolls, baby beetroot (Very nice as it turned out), Frikadellens, roasting veg and a very naughty Steak and gravy pie with puff pastry. Missed the bus back, so limped along Woodborough Road and down Woodthorpe Road. Towards the end of the road, a youth on a four-wheeled mini-bike was belting up and down the road, doing wheelies and circle.

How such a tiny machine could make so much noise, I don’t know. The lad was having a whale of a time. A bit of jealousy crept into my thoughts. Haha!

Turned right down Sherwood Vale hill. I could see the flats in the distance, not my Woodthorpe block, but the Winchester building, mine was to the right, just out of view.

The rain stopped again.

As I hobbled down the road, the L8 bus came up the hill, and the lady driver gave me a wave and smile.

That was fun!

To the right, the view was astounding to me. Had to take a photograph of it for us.

At the bottom of the hill, just before I turned right into the woods to go down the path that leads to the apartments, there is a path where the greenery that has always caught my attention every time I walk by it. Nothing unusual I know, but years ago the railway line was going along here, and the way the trees and bushes had reclaimed the land had me in admiration of nature once again.

Being a City boy, I’m learning all the time.

Limped down the path and through to the flats and a WRWW.

Put the things away and got the meal going, early today.

I nibbled a beetroot from the new jar when I opened it, and the taste was perfect.

Unfortunately, I didn’t put the lid back on correctly, and the result was another fine mess for me to clean up. Hey-ho!

The ulcer was still stinging a bit, but I’ve had it far worse. It was Anne Gyna joining in that gave me more hassle and pain, again! Huh!

Horrible night.

Inchcock Today Tuesday 11th October 2016: Photograph Booth at Asda-Walmart go part-time!

Tuesday 11th October 2016

0430hrs: Woke up, it was cold here this morning. No recollections of dreams beyond those I recorded in yesterday’s post. Tsk! I was soon out of the £300 second-hand recliner in response to a demand for a WRHH session. Haem Aroids were bleeding again, but otherwise no hiatus.

Arthur Itis was gentle and calm at this stage, even Anne Gyna had relented and was being kind to me.

Into the kitchen and cleaned the pots that I’d left soaking in the bowl in the sink.

Took the medications and made a cuppa. Onto the laptop to complete yesterday’s diary and start this one off.

I’d like to get the photographs done later at Asda (Walmart) that I took at last weeks Tenants Social Hour. Get some milk and Deofab if I remember too.

Did some graphicalisationing for later, and did Facebooking for a short while.

Had a couple… well, alright then, six chocolate biscuits.

Then got the ablutioning done.

Popped on the scales, but we needn’t go into that in any detail, do we now?

Ahem!

Sorted the waste bags and took them to the chute. Got the shopping bags and went down to get the L9 bus into Arnold. Handed the Tenants at the stop, some chocolate coin nibbles and today they chattered with me.

I was soon dropping off the bus in Arnold. I ambled gently along to the Saver Store where I’m glad to report; they had some of the Deobab sprays in stock, and I got a couple. They also had some more chocolate coins at half price, Listerine and some Dettol Soap Tablets on offer.

Paid the lady and out and onwards to the Asda-Walmart Store. Passing this window display en route:

The retro stuffed animals, radios and music centres looked impressive, if yer like that sort of thing.

Arrived at the Asda shop – Where again the photography booth was closed?

I investigate to find out that it is closed Mondays and Tuesdays and is opening later and closing earlier on Wednesday to Fridays from now on? Tsk!

Did some shopping, bought too much again, huh! Distilled malt vinegar, a jar of pickled eggs, baby beetroots, Vegetable gravy powder, lemon frazzles, cheese-twists, vine tomatoes, Cheesy topped rolls, Anchor butter (Smallest pack), Apples and some prepared peas and carrots.

Paid the gal at the checkout, and for some reason struggled with carrying the bags out and up the hill to the bus stop? Felt winded, and Arthur Itis was complaining about it. Hehe!

Had to stop half way up the little hill. I didn’t like that, never had to do so before.

Hey-ho!

I had a good while to wait for the bus.

Noticed a new poster had been put in the shelter. One for KFC. ‘Weh one fillet, just won’t – Fill it. New Stacker?

I was feeling too weary to try and work out what it wanted to tell me to do or buy, or whatever.

A good while later, the bus sign informed me that the L9 was due in 9 minutes – then 13 minutes and later 12 minutes? It did arrive in eight minutes.

A lady who got on the bus before the L9 arrived, cheered me up a bit bless her pickled walnuts – she, or someone, had sewn some teddy bear heads onto her jeans!

I had to smile, as the lady was about 55-60 years old too! Good for her!

When the bus got to the ring road island, there was no traffic whatsoever about!

There was just one Nottingham Pavement Cyclist all on his own, though.

I found out later from Pat in Canada that I’d missed the cyclist off altogether, he was too quick for me. Oh, I do feel a fool! Hehehe!

We got to the flats in no time, but there were so many buses about, we could not get to the bus stop for ages.

What had happened apparently: It was time for swap-over for the bus drivers, and one of the buses had conked out!

With not being able to get to the kerbside, the driver of the bus would not risk me getting off with the bus being so high from the ground.

Another person to be blessed for caring today!

Called at Olive’s on the way up, no answer.

Got in and tended to a WRWW, then sorted the purchases out and stored them in their appropriate places. Got the vegetables in the saucepan and simmering away, laptop on for a bash on Facebook, then updated this

Found myself inaniloquently talking to myself on and off, more on than off?

Did some CorelDraw X8 graphicalisationing, then got the  fodder ready to consummation.

Spuds dotted with Vegemite, Surimi sticks, peeled Red Winsor apple, tomato, pickled egg, beetroot and vegetables. Two buttered cheesy cobs, and it all went down very nicely with thankfulness to Duo Denal for not spoiling the taste tonight. In fact, it was another great effort, rated this one 9.44/10 for taste.

Unhappily, I got bits of sticky vegemite all over the place eating it. The dressing gown, my chin, fingers and the £300 second-hand recliner cover, etc. Had to have a cleaning up session after eating it, Tsk!

The sky from the kitchen window looked so beautiful, as the evening descended. I say descended, is that the right word?

It dawned on me that we have not had much rain lately, and like magic, demands for a WRWW arrived via the bladder if ill repute! This gave me an idea for a funny rhyme post. I’ll work on that one in the morning.

Settled down, nibbles and tomato juice to hand to watch the Englan v Slovenia match, full of hopes and expectancies of an England victory. (Humph!)

Another excruciatingly painful match to watch. Thank heavens the goalie Hart doing something right for a change. A tweet in the Guardian summed it up I think: “A clean sheet keeps England’s unbeaten run in qualifying matches going and makes sure they remain top of Group F. But Slovenia was the better team tonight and had the chances to win. They let themselves down with some shoddy finishing, however, while England was indebted to some fabulous saves from Joe Hart. After that performance, it’s safe to say that Wayne Rooney wasn’t the only problem.”

Depressed I got my head down.

Inchcock Today Saturday 8th October 2016: Computerisationing day, aching all over – But, I did get to talk with Olive

Saturday 8th October 2016

Woke around 0130hrs, struggled out of the now refusing to work £300 second-hand recliner chair again and off for a WRWW. Back to the seat and the thing worked perfectly?

Settled down, soon got off again and dreamt of when I was once again an ankle-snapper living in the Meadows area of Nottingham. Not many details clear, though, I think I was on a railway line with some other nippers?

Up again at 0400hrs for another WRWW and WRHD session. The haemorrhoids were bleeding a good bit, perhaps the marathon walk yesterday had something to do with it? The feet, were still stinging from the marathon hobble? Arthur Itis was lingering, but Anne Gyna was giving me far less hassle.

Into the kitchen to take the medications, and made up another weeks pots. Made a brew and got the laptop on. Much computerisationing ensued. CorelDraw graphic creating, Facebooking and WordPressing, then checked the emails.

Hours later, Anne Gyna joined in with my other flipping ailments and started getting worse. Tsk!

I found a photograph on the camera that I’d missed off from the Goose Fair Album. Hehe!

It’s the ladies loos!

These are the ones for the fair! There is an automatic one with three cubicles at the far end that is there permanently for the tram passengers – but they need a degree in science to work out how to get yer 50p in and operate them they tell me. Haha!

Going to get my ablutionisationing done now, then pop to see if Olive was in.

The ablutionising was done, and Olive was in when I called. A nice chinwag and a peck or two followed, and she sent me back to the flat, feeling rather more contented. Although I was a bit worried, because she only told me off once. Hehe!

The reflux valve, Arthur Itis and Anne Gyna both pursued me as I got in the apartment and had a WRHD. Was I feeling old suddenly?

My eyes bigger than my stomach tonight.

Two small Krakowsa filled cobs, oven chips, mushrooms, beetroot, fish sticks, tomatoes, gherkin, mini pork pie with pickle, an egg followed by a lemon yoghourt apple and pot of mandarins in jelly.

Much of it was left uneaten and dished in the waste bin, I’m afraid, Tsk!

As for watching the TV, which I wanted to do to see some of the programmes I’d selected to, it was impossible. Dropping off, then jumping awake, sometimes the programme had finished, at times it seemed only a few seconds had passed. The nodding and waking-up went on, for hours it seemed.

With me stubbornly resisting getting me head down properly for some reason. Eventually, after a good nod-off of an hour or more, I gave up, turned off the TV, got settled and was in a seemingly deep asleep, no idea what time this was. But around 0230hrs I was back in the wetroom on the porcelain, struggling.

Humph!
