23:45hrs: I woke, and after the brain had found and engaged its first-gear, I seemed to feel in fine fettle, mentally. I was up and out of the ageing 1968 second-hand rickety recliner and into the kitchen in at such a rapid-rate-of-knots, it surprised me. I was cheered with finding the hot water was back on again, and no demands for any wee-wees yet either.
I set about doing the Health Checks.
No dramatic changes noted to the readings this morning.
I took the medications and medicines and got the kettle on to make a brew of Glengettie strong tea.
Then, the first wee-wee of the day arrived, with little warning. Luckily, the emergency grey plastic bucket was close to hand to be utilised. This was an LHBLWWs (Long Hosepipe-Blasting like Wee-wee).
After which, just as unexpectedly and urgent as the wee-wee, the need for the Porcelain Throne arrived.
Off I went to the wet room (I must have looked like a shortened fatter version of John Cleese doing a funny walk. Hehe!). The evacuation went very smoothly and unmessily.
Although a slight reluctance to be freed from the rear-end was indicated.
But this gave me a chance to read some more of the sad, yet fascinating Victoria Wood biography.
I checked the pins. Fluid retention seemed to have gone down from last night, and a new papsule and welt had appeared. Still, it keeps the interest going, dunnit? Haha!
The left wrist began to itch like crazy, and I could not help but scratch away at it for ages. No marks on the skin? It felt a little like I had worms wriggling in the arm? It ultimately stopped bothering me and has not come back again.
Back to the kitchen and disinfected the little emergency grey bucket and left it handily placed twixt the kitchen and front room. (What me, fall over it? Ahem!)
I made a start on the Thursday blog. It took around five hours to get it done. Partly because of the number of things that had taken place yesterday, that I needed to recall, and the abysmal, wretched appalling performance of the Liberty-Global Virgin Media connection!
Would you buy a second-hand car from him?
I decided on some (Which shamefully turned out to be far more than planned – [Shame Mode Adopted] Tsk!) Scottish Shorties and another mug of tea for brekkers. Nice! Had an LHBLWW and back on the computer, to make a Morrison order for next week.
The following hours were spent battling Dizzy Dennis and Shaking Shaun, I’m afraid. Memories are patchy.
I found on the morning that the medications had been taken, so that was good.
I did have a meal though, because I found this terribly blurred photograph on it in the camera too.
Recalling taking the meds and doing the meal is impossible. But I’d filled in the result sheets?
A bad few hours. Tsk!
I had nodded off and woke up, feeling a lot better, but not right. (That about covers it, Huh!) I checked the place for stove, taps, light dangers, it seemed I had left nothing on that I shouldn’t have.
Reflux Roger was in as bad a mood as he has ever been.
I’d laid here in the £300 second-hand rickety, rusty recliner since waking up, with the mind a muddle of murky maunderings. But making sense of my of mind’s illogical, flawed and irrelevant meanderings seemed out of my control or understanding. Yes, I’m losing it mentally again. Seems a daily waking up shibboleth for me nowadays. Tsk!
00:00hrs: I ended the persiflage with my confused brain, and set about removing my jelly-mould of a body from the recliner. An immensely arduous and Herculean task sometimes, you know. Hehehe! By the time I’d got myself into a semi-perpendicular stance, the call to the Porcelain Throne arrived, so off to the wet room.
The evacuation went well without any bleeding for messiness. Having finished and handed on the Catastrophe War book, I had a read of the Victoria Wood biography from where I left off months ago. Then it dawned on me as I stood up to get cleaned, how kind some of the ailments were to me this morning. Apart from the knees, Arthur Itis was no bother. No Shaking Shaun, Dizzy Dennis or Reflux Roger hassles. No toe-stumbling or knocking over or into anything. Hernia Harold caused me no pain at all. Only Back-Ache-Branda and Duodenal Donald were interested in bothering me at the moment. I didn’t get excited, though, these ailments have fooled me so often before. Hahaha!
The wee-wees are back to an FSSWW (Frequent-Short-Sharp-Wee-wee) mode up to now.
I checked on the legs. What fluid retention there was, is in the top half of the pins. This has happened before, so no need to worry. Arthur Itis was giving some knee-grief. The ankle was not giving way at all yet, and I hope it doesn’t as well. Oh, and no EIBWBBBs (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles) were spotted!
Made a brew and got on with the Health Checks.
All results were close to the Wednesday morning ones. Well, the pulse was a bit lower, but not enough to get into a tizzy over, methinks.
Indeed, I was hardly aware of my ailments or caducity this morning.
Without thinking, I took the medications with a large mug of tea instead of the usual spring water. Tsk! No Furesomide this morning, I didn’t know that I needed one with only the top half of the legs swollen? I still took the Codeine Phosphates though, as my EQ told me that Arthur Itis is going to give me some bother with the knees. Some days there is a different kind of stiffness in them, and I’ve come to recognise what it means when I can feel this unalike muscle contraction and the patella area is swollen when I’m not moving at all. Blimey, that sounds like I’m almost intelligent. Smug-Mode-Adopted. Haha!
Got the computer going, and went on the WordPress Reader first. Then updated the Wednesday blog and got it sent off. (In-between many FSSWW’s)
I went to get another brew of tea, and I thought I heard the sound of howling from somewhere? It came again a few minutes later. So, I opened the unwanted light & view blocking new window that is impossible to get to, to clean window, to have a decker outside. I could not see or hear anything out of the ordinary.
I got the step-ladder, and I leant dangerously out of the window and tried to take a panoramic view of below.
Oh, dear, what a mess I made of that! No idea what I did wrong there! But maybe with my having to hold on to the window frame, which dripped the defrosting ice all over me and the kitchen heater as I did so, and balancing on the steps at the same time, and having to shoot the shot with one hand, didn’t help. (He says looking for excuses, Haha!)
I took a ‘normal auto shot’ straight ahead and zoomed in, on the lights and darkness that hides the Nottinghamian shoplifters, pickpockets, distraction thieves, pavement cyclists, drug dealers, night sleepers, burglars, muggers, unemployed, Social Security fiddlers, alcoholics, gambling addicts, lottery winners, and just maybe a police officer or two from view. This one came out alright, though.
Disappointed with my first effort, I decided to go out on the balcony to get some better shots. The cracking of the floorboards was a little unnerving. A trapped finger and soaking from the wet windows later, I was ready to take my photographicalisations.
Down to Chestnut Walk and the iced-up cars
Down to Chestnut Walk
Straight ahead zoomed in
I closed the window, trapping the same finger again in the same spot. Humph! Got myself dried off and put a plaster on the bleeding finger.
An FSSWW made a brew and back to the computer. I appear to have a tremendous thirst on me again today, like yesterday. I wonder why?
I went on the TFZer Facebook, and to update the albums on my site.
I went to get a pot of noodles down from the cupboard top, using the grab-stick. The noodles slipped and shot out of the grabber-claw. It knocked down a pot of lemon-salt on the way down. Grrr!
I clenched my fist for this photograph, thinking it would add a little dynamism and reality to it. I had to manually open it again with the other hand. Colin Cramps visited again. Hehehe!
Had a right mess to clean-up! Ate the noodles in a gloomy mood and got the ablutionalisationing sorted out.
Oh, dearie me! The flaming pins were now both chocker with fluid, and within a few minutes of having the stand-up wash and shave, they also began to ache! I can’t win! Oy Vey!
Made a brew and awaited the fodder delivery to arrive.
Boy, had the fog started to come down.
I made up a montage of how the mist descended and turned into fog, inside an hour.
0700hrs
0710hrs
0800hrs
0810hrs
The Asda (Walmart) delivery arrived, I felt a bit sorry for the driver in this weather.
Got the stuff put away, and readied the needs for the Winwood Heights Social hour together.
Plenty of time to spare, so I decided to get the laundry done. Both dryers were in use again, but no washers. I got the washing in and back up to the flat.
I checked the sell-by dates on the fresh products. The cream cakes for the gals had 1 Feb on, so they were alright. They had substituted some picnic eggs for mini sausages, I wondered? Grumph! But I didn’t realise when the order came, because they no longer supply a printed copy of the details. Grumph Two! The mushrooms only had one day left! Grumph Three! The mini-rolls were all squashed! Grumph Four! Back to Morrisons for next weeks order methinks!
Back down to move the clothing into the dryer. As I was taking them out, Cyndy arrived to take her dry washing out. Nice laugh and gossip ensued!
Back up to the flat, and found that I had left the hot water tap running, and it had run cold! My incompetency, cack-handedness, deficiencies, and ineptness, gets me down at times, you know! Oy Vey!
Down to the laundry room again to retrieve my washing taking the black bags to the waste chute on the way. The journey was of particular interest this time: One lift was on the 11th floor and did not move. The ‘free’ lift took the following route before getting to my 12th floor, 3rd to Ground floor, up to 6th floor, on up passing me to the 15th floor, down to the ground floor, up to 11th floor where the other lift had been stuck for ages, down to the 9th floor, then back to the ground floor, then up to the 9th floor, finally arriving empty at my floor! I know this, cause it was such an odd happening, I wrote the movements down. We picked up a lady from the 6th floor and a gentleman from the 3rd floor en route to the ground floor. I think if they installed these lifts at an amusement centre, they would go down a treat as a mystery ride!Haha! Joking aside, I assumed it would have been due to the installation preppers for the Sprinkler System working, maybe, perhaps, possibly, or not.
I removed and folded the togs into the bag. Cleaned the filter and drum, and was soon back at the elevators again.
This time the other lift was stuck on the 11th floor. But I got the other one straight away, up to the apartment and got the clothing stored away. This was when it dawned on me, that I had taken a wee-wee for over an hour-and-a-half! Things were looking good!
I took all I needed with me, and set out to the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Flats, Oberstgruppenführer Wardens Temporary HQ, Toilet, Sarcasm & Insult distribution area. Rumourmongering Clinic. Telling Inchcock off Zone. Things like china and pottery to be stolen from, and residents room hut, for the Winwood Tenants Socialisation hour.
I spotted a new advisory sign on the lift lobby notice board, for the better off of our residents who are still young enough, fit enough, capable and rich enough to own cars. I assume this was from Angel Auntie Jenny. ♫ Jealousy, t’was all over my jealousy, My heart was broken… ♫Hahaha!
I had a chinwag with Nora (Lovely lady!) in the lobby, and Frank came down to escort her to the Social hut. I took a letter to post for them, and off they trotted. I followed behind along Chestnut Walk.
By-gum, it was nippy out there! I posted the letter and joined them in the hut. A much better turnout this week. Put the prizes on the trolley and opened the Wheels cake bag and handed them around to see if the clan liked them or not. They did, so I decided to get some more today when I go back to Mansfield again in search of some more Glengettie tea-bags.
Jenny was in good form today. Amazes me how she gets the energy to do as much as she does for others, bless her. ♥ I got several natters and laughed with many folks, which of course, I love to do. Took the nibble box round, well I say around, they now pass it between them, and I miss out on chinwags. Tsk!
I joined another couple of residents at the bus stop outside in the cold and caught a bus down to Mansfield road. Then waited for a Pronto bus to Mansfield.
I cheered the lady in the picture up, well, she cheered me up, by having a chinwag with me as we waited.
When the Pronto bus arrived near Mansfield, the snow was a little thicker than in Nottingham. Once we came to the centre and the bus station, there was no signs of any snow, just wet roads and pavements.
Again, I had a bit of a struggle to get off of the bus without getting mangled by the incoming herd of passengers.
Shoulder charged, trod on and bruised from this experience, I got into the forecourt without serious injury, though. Hehe!
I took a few seconds to recover from the bus alighting melee and made my way out and down through the underpass. I wouldn’t like to risk walking through this footway in the dark at night.
I called in the B&M store. I came out with some more of the sweet & sour noodles, Pork Scratchings for the nibble-box, sweet & sour sauce and chicken skewers. All for only £5.50, too!
Unfortunately and sadly, they had no Glengettie tea-bags, and the lady said they do not expect to get any more in again. I managed not to cry out loud, but did inside!
Paid up and went next door to the Poundstretcher shop. Where I got some more of the ‘Wheels’ biscuits that the girls liked so much. I picked several varieties, chocolate, coconut and iced. So now I can hand them out at the social, and have enough for several weeks, three at least, I reckon. Also, I bagged nougat sweets, sherbert saucers, Shortie biscuits, Pickled onion flavour Fish & Chips and some biscuits to use as raffle prizes. I paid the lady the £14 bill.
Then I returned to the B&M store again, thinking they may have some Glengettie tea hidden away somewhere for sale. Of course, they hadn’t, but I did get a small jar of pickled eggs while I was in there.
Back to the battleground… I mean bus station. I got on without any hassle or my being assaulted this time.
On the way back to Sherwood, I took this photographicalisation on Mansfield Road in Daybrook. This pub-restaurant, Coopers Brook came about by the modernisation of ‘The Old Spot’ pub. I looked up some reviews of it late on Friday morning:
3* The waiting staff were pleasant enough but, one meal arrived 10 minutes after the rest with the reason, ‘oh, the chef cooked the wrong dinner’. None of the other meals came as the menu had described and a couple of them were sent back as they had a few items missing. The roast vegetables that the meals came with consisted of two small pieces of pepper and about a fifth of a red onion. The children’s meals seemed bigger than the adult meals but what we ate tasted alright. With small children, it is sometimes difficult to complain too many times as the children just want to get on and eat so perhaps if we hadn’t had them with us, things would have been a bit different. The food was not as described but OK. I would probably not return here to eat.
1* Service was terrible. I think they need more training, and to reduce their prices. We will never be visiting there again. Avoid if you want to live for the rest of the month as cost a week’s wages for a bite to eat and a few beers.
2* Basic food – wouldn’t recommend them, or go out of my way to go here again but okay if you’re in a rush (likely to get a table). Service pretty poor – didn’t have the food we ordered, forgot some items and then had the cheek to leave them all on the bill.
No wonder the car park looked empty! But some people liked it. More Reviews
I dropped off the bus in Sherwood, and the connecting bus up the hill back home, passed the stationary bus as I alighted it. Tsk!
I walked over the hill and down to the Woodthorpe Grange Park gate, to find few animals or people out in the cold weather today.
As I neared the top turn off to the flats, the same dog that did it last week, came over for the sniff in the shopping bags.
I gave her a bit of fuss and chinwagged to her as I left her to it. I’d forgotten about the chicken in there! Hehehe!
This animal cheered me a bit, and I tackled the last stretch down the gravel footpath to the flats in perky spirits.
Amazingly, I got in the apartment, and still didn’t need a wee-wee? Yeehaw!
Suddenly, I felt so drained and weary. Well, I suppose it has been a busy day for me, so should have expected it.
I got some chips in the oven, made up some sandwiches, sliced some tomatoes, a couple of the Asda substituted mini-eggs and a chicken skewer to the plate in readiness for the chips to be cooked.
I planned some TV viewing, some excellent programmes to watch for me on Freeview. My favourite old stuff. Boon, Pie in the Sky and Heartbeat, followed by Hustle! Served up the meal.
I’d made too much for me to eat it all, and had to throw away those horrible, foul, tasteless mini-eggs as well! The chicken things were delicious.
Settled into the £300 second-hand rickety 1968 rusty recliner, and got the TV on to have an entertaining viewing session.
Huh! I watched the Boon until the first commercial break and nodded off and woke in the middle of Pie in the Sky. Again I drifted off during the adverts, after changing the channel to watch Heartbeat. Woke again as the credits were scrolling at the end of Heartbeat! Zzzz!
Is anyone interested in buying an oldish little-watched TV set? Hahaha!
23:30hrs: I woke, and when the brain joined me in wakefulness, I tried my best to recall some of the dreams I’d been having. I was being chased, by Tony Blair and John Prescott amongst other unknown pursuers, along what seemed miles of office corridors. They were snarling, cursing and shouting at me for some reason, also strange to me. Lots more happened that is all confused now, but they ended up throwing me out of a window, that I can recall. No notes had been scribbled down on my pad, shame that.
Around 00:00hrs, I dismounted the £300 second-hand 1978 rusty recliner, hauling my gargantuan, out of shape, pendulous, sagging stomach burdened torso into an upright position. It’s not easy you know! I had to utilise the emergency grey bucket which luckily I had disinfected and left in place near the electric fire as usual. This wee-wee was of the SPSHPLWW (Short-Painfull-Semi-Hose-Pipe-like Wee-wee) variety. I’d no sooner finished that, and the call to the Porcelain Throne arrived. I’m getting regular with these Throne visits lately, ain’t I?
Off to the wet room. The evacuation well reasonably well, no bleeding from the rear end, which I fear was not the case with Little Inchies Fungal Lesion. Another almost involuntary SPSHPLWW (Short-Painfull-Semi-Hose-Pipe-like Wee-wee) had to be taken. In fact, I was so glad it came then, cause had it happened elsewhere, I might not have got to the WC or EGB (Emergency Grey Bucket) in time. Oh dear, not another day like Sunday… Please!
I checked over the pins. Well, they didn’t look too bad, fluid retention wise at all.
Some of the mish-mashes of spider veins seemed to have faded too?
Although just one new bruise had appeared on the left ankle. Which is the one that let me down twice, yesterday. I wondered if it might because I’d cut the tops of my socks so they wouldn’t be too tight, and the fluid had gone down and caused the problem. You know me, I’m always worried when there is nothing to worry about. Haha!
Cleaned up and off to the kitchen to risk a small mug of tea, and get the Health Checks sorted out.
Hello, the Sys has gone down, at last, so has the pulse and dare I say it, the weight! Can’t understand why the temperature is down, though? Not worried mind, it has been lower than that before.
I like this new thermometer now I’ve worked out how to use it properly. It gives an almost instant reading from the ear-hole.
I had another SPSHPLWW and went to get some brekkers. I’ve no idea why, but I fancied trying a pot of the Sweet & Sour Noodles that I bought yesterday in Mansfield.
So I did! By gum, it was excellent along with a cup of the Glengettie strong tea.
Of course, this means if I am to get any more of the pots or teabags, this says I’ll have to go to Mansfield to buy them as no one else sells them! And that is if they have some left in stock. Mmm! Tsk!
Only one Sharwoods Noodle left up there on top of the cupboards now. I’m not too keen on Batchelor’s Super-Noodles at all. They can go as raffle prizes for anyone who fancies them. Or I can put them on the table in the lobby for anyone to help themselves to.
I set about updating the Tuesday blog.
Most frustrating. Each time I checked my syntax and spelling, the signal would die after, and I had to do it all again on the failed saves. And there were many them! After many SPSHPLWWs, two mugs of tea and more effort than I could cope with, I got the diary finished a sent off. But not until gone 06:30hrs! NearlySeven Hours It Took me! Oy Vey!
I went on WordPress Reading for a while. Then answered all the comments, I didn’t miss any, I relied on both of them. Hehe!
An SPSHPLWW then I made a mug of Assam tea and took these photographs from the kitchen window.
It looked a little frosty out there. When I opened the new unwanted light and view-blocking and needing more cleaning, and there is no way I can reach to do that without moving everything and using the step ladders then hang out of the window itself to reach all the glass to clean them, windows. The dew dripped inside. All down my jammies, the oven glove and onto the electric storage heater. Just thought I’d mention it, like. Huh!
Made a start on doing this post at last.
A good job I kept making notes to refer to earlier.
Mr Fries, Global-Liberty Virgin Media Internet had got a little less slow now. Honestly, it can be done you see!
I took another break, one for another brew because the earlier one had gone cold, and a wee-wee was needed again!
I got the kettle on and ventured out into the bare balcony and took these two photographs of roughly the same bit of sky.
As I opened the metal spring clip and opened the left-hand window to take these shots, the dew came in and again my jammies and slippers got soaked in the incoming water. Humph! The first was in Auto mode, and the one on the right in Distance mode. Can’t see much difference in them, myself.
As I came back in it looked like fog, but it wasn’t.
I think it was the heat going out of the room that caused the steaming up.
But I went back out and took these two photographs of the workers doing their jobs down outside in this cold weather. Oh, and got the jammies and feet wet again. Haha!
I then got back to updating this post and got as far as here with it, before having another SPSHPLWW.
Then I went on Facebooking. Then made an Asda (Walmart) order to arrive in the morning, remembering to put milk on the list. Haha!
Nosh in the oven.
Lamb hotpot and burger, a few chips (fries) and mini tomatoes. Had the last few slices of the milk bread with it.
Excellent flavour-rating of 9.3/10.
Got settled to try and watch some TV. But, Dizzy Dennis visited me, and the wholething became confusion.
Willmott Dixon lads at work on the new Winwood Court
Tuesday 29th January 2019
Norwegian: Tirsdag 29. Januar 2019
23:20hrs: I sort of shot awake, with a worryingly instant demand for the Porcelain Throne! The scrimmage to get out of the second-hand rickety, rusty 1978 recliner, and straight to the wet room went well and without any altercations.
But oh what a mess! Little Inchies fungal lesion had been bleeding again. The cleaning up and medications were painful and uncomfortable. However, on the plus side, the evacuation went well with no haemorrhaging from the rear end.
I cleaned up the blood on the porcelain and floor. I washed the dandies and disinfected the contact points.
Then had a check of the fluid container pins. Hehe!
What a state! Although I think the fluid storage was less than yesterday, the papsules, mystery scars blotches, and spider veins seemed to have had some disappear and other replacement ones grown in the night, yet again!
I had a good perusal of the wet room floor, and there were no sightings of any of the EIBWBBBs (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles) dead or alive? Another Woodthorpe Court Mystery!
I tackled the Health Checks next.
The BP had been so high on every check this week. I wonder why? Then again, a lot of things confuse me nowadays. Hahaha!
I used the old little camera to take this shot of morning sky – not very good is it?
Indeed not of my better efforts. I might have moved the camera a little, cause I was trying to catch the blue lights of the three emergency vehicles belting down Winchester Street, and the two on Mansfield Road in the same photo. Tsk!
I pressed on with updating the Monday blog and got it posted off to WordPress.During which, the wee-wees I found to have settled into a VSFWWW (Very short-Frequent-Weak-Wee-wees) variety. Hehe!
Had a break for a mug of tea and to get some breakfast. I reached for the porridge pot with the picker-upper claw, dropped it, then picked it up off of the floor.
Then, when I spotted how dirty parts of the floor looked – Guilt mode was Adopted. I stopped and cleared the stuff off off the corners and edges of the tiles, and got it swept and mopped.
Obviously, at this time of the morning (03:50hrs), I did not use the vacuum, but the old bush and pan.
I used the cloth mop to do the corners and gaps, and the round foot-press Spin-mop and bucket for the main area.
I made use of Flash floor cleaner and lemon disinfectant used.
I didn’t make any noise and felt a little proud of myself in fact.
The knees and legs were not complaining at all. I did have to stop for three of the VSFWWWs, though.
When it came to cleaning the mess afterwards, I found that two EIBWBBB weevils were in the water? Still, they were both dead ones.
But, as I washed the bowl used to clean both of the mops up in, I had to have a wee-wee.
When I got back after the VSFWWW, to empty the bowl that I’d left in the kitchen sink. Blimey, there was a live Weevil in the bowl.
Maybe it is fate, kismet, destiny or providence that I live out my life with these alien Weevils as some company? Has some all-powerful entity decided I can have their camaraderie and adopt them as pets? Haha!
I got to do this post and got up to here, then went to check the kitchen in case I’d left something running, like a tap (faucet), and to review the outcome of my domestic science handiwork. The floor didn’t look too bad, but Guilt about everywhere else made me consider doing some sorting on the counters and cupboards, the fridge as well.
Then Dizzy Dennis gave me such a scare! (All the bending, I suppose I should have known I’d get this!). I all but went over when he came again a few minutes later. I’d gone from Semi-Smug-Mode to Feeling-Sorry-for-Myself Mode in two minutes. Humph! But I thought I’d get the medications pots done up to avoid the stretching, bending and lifting, as a substitute Make-Me-Feel-Better-In-Myself-Mode? Hehehe!
Back to the computer, and checked the weather forecast, rain-wise to decide if to go out today or not. I had thought yesterday about getting a bus to Derby or Mansfield to get out a bit. No more Dizzy Dennis visits, yet! This is the forecast for today hour by hour:
I didn’t have the porridge after all. I had a mug of tea and some cheesy-nibbles and watched some clips about motoring accidents.
Sorted the Ablutions. Assembled the recycling bag, glass empties and black bags sorted out. Got dressed warmly and took them with me on the way out.
IT was -4°c outside showing on the electronic notice board near the lifts when I exited the building.
A water leak on Chestnut Walk didn’t help either. The frosted/iced vehicle screens showed how nippy it was. I felt a tad sorry for the lads doing the excavating work. I plodded on, waving through the window to Generalfeldmarschalless Julie and Riechsführeress Deana as I passed the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Generaloberstesses Wardens Temporary HQ. WC, Rumourmongering Clinic. Sarcasm & Insult distribution area. Tenants Socialisationalistic Area. Telling Inchcock off Zone. Crockery and pottery to be stolen from location, and residents porta-cabin. Then to the end of the road and down Winchester Street hill into Sherwood.
Since my childhood, I have always been fascinated by heliotropism (movement of plants towards sunlight).
The stretch of panelling in this picture shows why. The shrubbery has somehow forced its way through the narrow gaps in the planks of wood, attached itself to the grain, and spread out. I continue to be amazed at Mother Nature. At Mankind too, but for other reasons!
Further down, as I walked by the entrance to the Muggers-Delight pathway, I spotted a piece of Nottingham Street Art.
I thought for a moment, (I do this occasionally) with the beautiful orange daisy (or whatever it is called) flowering bravely through the freezing weather to bloom and search-out any sunlight, it shows contrast twixt people and nature. I wondered if the Tate Gallery would be interested? If not, I could take a picture of some bricks for them back at the flats. Hehe!
I got onto Mansfield Road, and there was a while to wait before I could use my bus-pass at 09:30hrs. So I went into some Charity Shops to search for any China mugs they may have on sale. The Nottingham Hospice shop didn’t have any. The Cancer shop had a cup that looked like porcelain, but it was too heavy to be China. The Sue Ryder shop had a lot of cups and mugs, but no China ones, so my searching over, I went out to the bus stop and caught a Pronto bus to Mansfield.
Not many passengers to start with, but it filled up later, and the bus had to keep stopping with no one at the bus stops. Presumably, to keep to the time-table?
Getting off the bus was a high-level-risk situation. The stampede from those at the back of the bus encouraged me just to wait until they were all off before me. But a woman still managed to tread on my bag and then foot sat sidesaddle waiting patiently for the trampling to end. Tsk!
Being the last one off of the vehicle, I then had to contend with the attack of those boarding! I have to give these folks credit, their shoulder charges, tut-tutting and dirty looks were all first-rate! I escaped the bus depot as soon as I could, it was chaotic in there.
I took the underpass through to the B&M and Poundstretcher stores, calling in the B&M first.
I poddled about for ages. First I went in search of any China cups or mugs they may have on sale. None found. However, I ended up with a bag full of purchases all the same. At the cost of only £10.38. A tube of Liquorice Allsorts, two different pots of porridge, Wagon Wheels for the Social Hour nibble box, and two pots of sweet & sour noodles.
The best thing I bought that made all the effort worthwhile was some Glengettie Welsh tea-bags! Perhaps the most potent tea I have ever tasted, just great! I’d not seen any on sale anywhere for years now. They only had three box’s left on show, so I grabbed them all!
I paid the lady, who I felt sorry for, as she had apparently lost her voice. At least she didn’t respond to my Good morning, Are you keeping well, or Thank you, comments. Tsk!
The rain was drizzling as I left, but it didn’t bother me as I only had to walk a few yards under cover to the Poundstretcher shop next door.
Where I spent a little more money, on Nibbles for the Social box, some biscuits for raffle prizes, and some flying saucer sherberts for myself. I found they had some bottles of French’s Authentic American Mississippi Sweet and Smokey BBQ sauce at… wait for it… 19p a bottle! Its usually costs £2! I couldn’t find a sell-by date on any, so I assume it must have been out-of-date. ‘Brewed & bottled in Missouri, USA’ it said on the label. I bought two bottles. I got the whole shop for only £9.87! I paid the lady, who apparently is suffering the same problems as the lady in the B&M store with her voice. Haha!
I can’t blame the staff at all. With so many shops closing all around them, even the pub across the way had closed down, it must be thoroughly depressing for them, and their spirits at rock-bottom.
Out into the sad roadway outside that had now barred any parking, that must have cheered up the few shop owners who are left!
But that did not stop a traffic Warden plodding up the road. The lady using her mobile phone nearly walked into the traffic officer, half acknowledge him without stopping using her texter. And then, almost walked into the scaffolding piles! Oh, how I wish I hadn’t put the camera back in my pocket! Hahaha!
I had a poddle around the sadly near-deserted streets.
Mansfield made Nottingham look like a Fun Palace. Depressive, I’m afraid.
Many years ago, when I worked near Mansfield for the Co-op, when the pits were still open, the folks were all a friendly and happy lot.
Even a year or so ago, I called into the Beales Store in the photo of happier times below. They occupied both sides of the parade.
Now, sadly I find they are closing down for good. This is such sad news for the retailers still open. Heartbreaking, I feel so much for the owners and the staff.
I took the midday meds from the pot in the bag and popped them.
I made my way gloomily to the bus station and joined the scrum to get on the Nottingham bus. I was struggling to get into the seat with my two bags of shopping, another woman trod on one of the bags. Tsk! I was glad to be going home, I can tell yers! Humph!
A little light drizzle on the way back to Sherwood. But the driver was on my side and went like a bat out of hell for me.
I had to hold back a wee-wee of course. Not easy or painless, but somehow I held out until I got back to the flat! Phew!
Dropped off in Sherwood and waited for a 40 bus to take me up the hill a few stops. A tenant from Winchester Court was sat in the shelter, and we had a chinwag and laugh, bless her.
The short uphill walk from the bus stop on Winchester Street proved a problem. The damned ankle kept giving way en route.
The workers seem to be taking away an awful lot of soil from the front of Winchester and Winwood Courts.
I hope they do not topple over and down the hill! Hahaha!
The drizzle had stopped altogether now.
I made my way back to the flats, and up to mine and took a painful wee-wee. Ahh!
Well, Argh and Ahh! Hehehe!
I unloaded the bags of purchases and put the nibble in the spare room box.
Did the Health Checks and took the medications.
I laid out the buys and took a photo of them.
I thought the Wheels would come in handy as raffle prizes, cause I haven’t seen them before so might be appealing?
The canned beans were a fair price and in smaller cans to suit me. The sweet & Sour noodles were very cheap, so it doesn’t matter if I don’t like them.
USed the step ladders to get the brekkie corner filled with the pots bought added and rotated date-wise. All full now!
But, the thing I went for, the milk, I’d forgot to get! Twerp, Eizel, Nudnik, Putz, Schlemiel, Schnook and Yold! But you must know that already? Humph!
I got the pie in the oven heating and added some Texas sausages later, so they were both ready at the same time.
Got it served up and had the last of the milk roll bread with it. Just about to get settled to eat it, and the door chime rang-out to its tone of! “You’ve started something oh can’t you… I only wanna be with you” (Dusty Springfield). It was Stabsfeldwebeless Warden Deana and Sturmbannführeress Warden Julie. They had come to do a battery check with control with the Alert Wristlet alarm. They’d seen me hobbling home earlier, so knew I’d be in. The smell from my Cumberland Pie and sausage cooking got them going, they liked it! Hehehe! Check all done, I told them about the Glengettie tea bags bargain, had a short chinwag and off they went.
I used a drop of the BBQ Sauce I’d bought on it. I must remember not to use too much in future, its very hot, but I think I can cope with just using a little. Hehe!
An 8.5/10 flavour rating for this one.WAshed the pots up.
Watching the TV, Dizzy Dennis paid me another visit. Tsk!
Can’t remember much after that, so I assume I dropped off at a ridiculously early time. Which is probably why I woke at 23:30 hours, wide awake?
Ah-well, as the Italians say, ‘Quel Che sarà sarà’ I think?
23:30hrs: Woke, engaged thinking mode, needed the Porcelain Throne. Struggled to get my Billy Bunter-like body from the £300 second-hand rusty recliner and off to the wet room. Stubbed my toe en route, and painful it was too! Long toenails, ah, coming today at 10:00hrs is FootLady Sue! And a food delivery expected at 06:00>07:00hrs. I sat on the Throne, my duty to do… Haha!
Oh, Boy, had Little Inchies Lesion been bleeding again! Naturally, it started flowing when I cleaned off the encrusted blood. Humph!
The evacuation was a tad reluctant to proceed and side-splittingly uncomfortable.
Harold’s Haemorrhoids bled too. The Catastrophy book was perused for a good chapter or two.
Cleaning up the rear end and the lesion took me an agony-ridden good while. I was beginning to think I might be in for another bad day. But, after a nosey around, my not finding a single EIBWBBB (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetle) in the wet room, I cheered up a little. Maybe they had got lost on the way to attack another flat yesterday by mistake?
The pins seemed to be no worse this morning.
Although, some new scars or welts or blood papsules had appeared. The padding around the Arthur Itis-infested knees seems to be getting more puffier. On the plus side, I say, the ankle has not given way, at least not yet today.
Free poetry, eh! Hehe!
I got the Health Checks done, and the medications were taken. No Furosemides today.
The Sys had shot back up again.
I got on with updating the sour, sad Sunday diary updating.
The wee-wees started, and they were of a different type yet again! I’ve classified these as VSHLP (Very Short-Hosepipe like Painful) Wee-wees. Am I going mad or what? But some control seems to be returning, I haven’t had to use the emergency grey-bucket yet, I’ve got to the porcelain in time each time.
Got the Sunday blog finished and posted off, then I made a start on this one.
I got an email from TFZer Lona ♥ in the USofA. She suggested I cut the tops of my socks to use when the fluid retentions are high to relieve the pressure. Brilliant idea I thought, and I replied thanking the gal for her advice.
I went on to Facebook to update the photo albums and visited the TFZer Facebook page.
Onto the WordPress comments.
Then to the WordPress Reader. All in between VSHLPs of course. Tut-tut!
A wee-wee, and then made a brew.
I took the midday Health Checks just too see if things had gone down any, and they had.
A lot better than the first one were.
Got the ablutions done early. Still no signs of any EIBWBBBs (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles).
The Asda delivery arrived, and I put away the items. I’d got a load of slice Milk Bread. I hadn’t tried one of these since about 1968 when they first came out. It was the Wonderloaf Bakery who made them then. The company has changed hands a few times; now it is branded as Warburtons.
Got some brekkers, then started to create this post. It’s taking me a long time though, the concentration isn’t too good at the moment.
As it got light, the sun came from behind the flats, making an interesting photographic opportunity for me.
I used the bought many years ago, Nikon Coolpix L 31 camera which uses Alkaline AA batteries. But when I put in the card, it was a bit of a job to find the photo afterwards in the Photo file?
FootLady Sue should be here soon (10:00hrs). Being as she has never arrived on time before, I’m not getting too expectant.
Sue arrived at 1050hrs. I enjoyed a natter while she did my tootsies. I was informed that the cost would be rising from the next visit. Ah, well!
Off she went, and I gathered the black bags and recycling white bag, got the nibbles out of the fridge for the gals at the Nottingham City Homes, Winwood Heights, Generaloberstesses Wardens Temporary HQ. WC, Rumourmongering Clinic. Sarcasm & Insult distribution area. Tenants Socialisationalisticalisationing Area. Telling Inchcock off Zone. Crockery and pottery to be stolen from location, and residents porta-cabin.
I set off, dropping the black bags down the waste chute and taking the white bag down with me in the lift. In the foyer, I found Mo sat there. We had a giggle and chinwag. Then out and handed the white bag to the caretaker… who was ‘Not’ on his mobile. (Honestly!)
Ambled along in the cold sunshine to the cabin. Dropped the nibbles off, and made my way back to the flats, cursing my forgetting to take the camera with me.
Into the foyer, and there Penny (On the left in the photo) had joined Mo taking a seat while she waited for a washing machine to come free.
We had a chinwag and a laugh between us, bless them both.
Up to the flat to have a leak. This one and each that followed (And there were plenty of them, Tsk!) were VSWWW (Very short Weak-Wee-wees).
Updated this blog to here, then checked the comments and perused the WP reader again. I went on Facebook for a while. Jenny from the flats suggested in a comment that I ask the Doctors about the possibility of my getting some compression socks on prescription. Now that was kind of her, a great idea! Thanks, Angel Jenny, I will ask when I go again to the GP. ♥
Got the salad nosh made up.
Overdid it again, and could not eat it all. But, what I did eat I took delight in enjoying. Especially the vegetarian mini-sausages and the Milk Roll sarnies.
Did the last Health Checks and had a look at the Freeview channels had on offer. Pleased to see that some of my favourites were on. The A-Team, Rumpole of the Bailey, Heartbeat and Hustle. So, I got a bottle of spring water, and orange cordial made up, a pot of nibbles and an apple assembled on the side Ottoman ready to settle down to enjoy the programmes.
Went for a wee-wee, to find that the Lesion was bleeding again! A painful cleanup and application of the Daktacort cream, a rinse and back to the welcoming second-hand 1978 vintage rickety recliner to get myself snuggled into.
The first A-Team episode I got through with only a couple of short nod-offs. I drifted off again. Woke while Rumpole was on, but only lasted until the first set of adverts came on. Fell asleep and when I woke again, I changed channels to get to see the last two minutes of Heartbeat, that was it as far as the TV viewing went. Zzzz!
22:35hrs. Woke up, with a wonderful few memories from the dream I’d been having, I was back in the arms of long lost love Suzie. Ah!I got back to sleep to see if I could get back there… But no more dreams of any kind!
23:45hrs. I reckoned I had had six hours sleep or so. Good that. Broken by the pleasant nightmare, but still. As I began to remove my body mass, and there’s a lot of it you know, from the £300 second-hand rickety, rusty recliner. Demands on both ends came in for the wet room to be visited with all haste again like in the past two mornings. (I’m becoming a right regular ain’t I, Hehe!) So, I got myself upright, and without a sign of any toe-stubbing, knocking anything over, or treading on anything, I was seated on the Porcelain Throne within a minute I think. The evacuation went so well too. No messiness, no bleeding from the rear-end.
As I sat there, waiting patiently for the wee-weeing to cease, the flow was so gentle and without sensation, that I wasn’t sure if it had stopped or not. I had a read some pages of the war book.
I checked with some toilet paper. Oh dearie me! Blood had bled and was still doing so. (I thought I’d been rather well with Little Inchies Fungal Lesion lately). A good job I bought the over-the-counter Hydrocortisone Cream last week, cause I forgot to ask at the surgery for another prescription. Not the 3° like that would have been, and not so useful either, but this 1° is better than none! Applying it was a nightmare again. Painfull and messy, but I got it sorted eventually. By the time I had got it done, I had needed another wee-wee. And boy had the style changed from the weak effort I took while sat down earlier! An SSPPWW (Short-Sharp-Painful-Powerful-Wee-wee) is my classification. I wonder if the reason for the feeble attempt was because I was sat down?
I checked the condition of the pins.
Well, blow me down! I now have vicious wee-wees returned, and one red leg with the other its standard shade? The right this time more filled with fluid, a reversal of the last few days state of my pins? I’m nonplussed! Will they ever get back to near normal again! Two things, well three things that do scare me, Going blind, going senile or being incapacitated in movement. I can cope with all the other ailments. The new ticker and related farce of getting the INR level right, multiple blood tests, self-injections, Arthur Itis, Anne Gyner, Duodenal Donald, Reflux Roger, Back-Pain-Brenda, Little Inchy’s Fungal Lesion bleeding, Haemorrhoid Harold, Hippy Hilda, etc. Even Shaking Shaun, Colin Cramps and Dizzy Dennis visits… but these three things I would be nervous and concerned about if they kicked off on or in me. Gonna bit maudlin there didn’t I, sorry.
As I was leaving the wet room, I spotted some EIBWBBBs (Evil Ironclad Boll-Weevil black biting beetles) four on the floor around the door area, and one on a cabinet?
I think I will have to admit to failure in my battle against the illegal immigrant EIBWBBBs. It’s been a good war, but the little things have worn me out. There are too many of them. I just can’t understand how they are leaving me alone for days, and then they reappear again. This morning’s weevils were all dead apart from one. But I do keep spraying and coughing up the bug killer spray daily in the wet room, still. It is rare nowadays for me to find any live ones. Perhaps their Kommandant Obersturmbannführer has designated the shower room as their cemetery? Hehehe! Maybe I can come to some agreement with them for an InchcockBeetleExit, Euro-Style?
I set about doing the Health Checks and medication taking, unsure of whether to take a Furesomide or not, I left it for today, not knowing if I had done right or wrong really.
The results looked a little more balanced to me this time. Sys and Dia back down nicely.
While I thought of it, I put some sliced chestnut mushrooms in the crock-pot with a little light Soy sauce to marinate and turn on later. The thoughts for today’s nosh was a Cumberland pie, the mushrooms and the Frits I got from Marks & Spencers yesterday, maybe, perhaps, possibly.
The morning view I thought was worthy of recording again.
Somehow I never tire of this vista. It makes me aware that I am not alone. Out there are my fellow Nottinghamians: shoplifters, pavement cyclist, street sleepers, muggers, burglars, the unemployed, failed child-maintenance payers, shortchanging rude shop staff, Social security fiddlers, etc. Haha!
Back for an SSPPWW with splashback. Tsk!
Finally, I got the computer on and updated the Saturday blog. This took me three hours with all the photographs to sort out, and so many things were happening. Also, I had to take about four SSPPWWs, all without any splashbacks.
I went to make a brew of tea, and the rain splashing on the unwanted new light and view-blocking windows, made me take a look outside. I took a photo right and upwards of the unsolicited new work making balconies, then I snapped a shot of the car park below. Blind taken shot of course, as the new windows make it impossible for me to photograph over the new deep window ledges and still see the viewer screen on the camera unless I get on the step ladder so I can reach out far enough into the rain and wind. And it was windy out there compared to earlier. I noted that one of the cars had been reversed into its space. Well done that resident!Much safer!
At last, I made a start on this post.
Many hours and wee-wees later, my mind turned to my getting some brekkers. Corn Flakes this time.
I got the packet down with the new Stick-Pickerupper okay, but for some reason that the grabber didn’t want to lose its grip on Cornflakes! I had to release it manually.
I don’t have a lot of luck, do I? Getting it back up, and it still wouldn’t release, I had to get the step ladders and get it back up that way. Schmuck!
Ate them, with one of the Freebie mini bottles of apple juice. Mind you, by the time I got around to it, the flakes were all soaked in the milk and soggy! Humph!
Back to the WordPressing, and…
It was hard work getting anything done on the computer for an hour or two. It seems to be getting less slower now, note I do not say its getting faster. Thank you, Mr Mike Fries (Photo above, he’s about to squeeze more cash out of me for a crap service!), and your quomodocunquising company of avaricious incompetents!
Went on Facebook to update the photo albums and visit the TFZer page.
The mobile, which was on charge in the other room. The legs were giving me some grief as I limped to get the mobile, but it stopped just as I got to it. Back to the computer and the landline light flashed and the tone chirped. Twas Brother-inLaw Pete. We had a nice natter until he had to go.
Back to Facebooking.
Got the nosh prepared.
It went down well, very tasty!
Washed the pots.
I tried to stay awake for the live football match. But seconds after the kick-off, Zzzz!
Up at 0425hrs: Really annoyed that I could not remember the many dreams I’d been having, not the foggiest idea what they were about, but somehow I felt they were recordable, different and scary?
I felt uncomfortable down below, Little Inchy stinging and Haemorrhoid Harold had unquestionably been bleeding. To the Porcelain Throne to attempt a passing. Managed it, painfully, but no worse than Monday’s event. I felt glad I had got all the washing done yesterday now, as I put some of the night attire in a bucket to soak in disinfectant and the rest in the laundry bag. Cleaned me up, sprayed the room with Dettol disinfectant spray and wiped all the contact areas. The innards were feeling a bit tender and rumbling now, too.
Into the kitchen and as soon as I looked out of the window and the red clouds, the old saying came to me: Red Sky in the morning, Shephard’s Warning.
Made a cuppa and did the Health Checks:
Sys 159, Dia 79, Pulse 89, Temp 34.9 and weight at 14.69. Couldn’t see any problems here.
Finished the weeks total sheet, to take with me tomorrow to the surgery. Again, apart from the weight, I could see nowt to worry about.
Took the medications then I got the computer on, looked up the weather forecast for the week and started to work on these diaries.
I was thinking of getting out today, but it is already starting to look like rain… if the forecast is right, I can get out and keep dry on Wednesday and Saturday? Hehe!
Checked the calendar: Tuesday; the INR Anticoagulation Blood Test at the surgery. Wednesday; Out for a meal with some other tenants in Arnold. Thursday; Out to vote in the elections then Anticoagulant-related nephropathy (A new one me, I must look that up in a bit) and Deep Vein Thrombosis tests at the QMC Hospital. So, a wet ‘Testing’ week for me? Hehehe!
Did some WordPress reading and commenting. Checked the Emails, then got on with the ablutionalisationing.
Got the ablutions done. Used new razors, lemon scented soap and had a good long session under the shower. Medicated the lesion and Haemorrhoid Harolds area then sprayed on the ‘Brute’ deodorant and got dressed.
The rain had started when I got out. Checking around to see what else apart from the fresh pod peas, I decided to get a large potato so I can bake it, empty it and mix dollops of the extra string cheese with the flesh, and put the mix back in the half-husks.
Took the bin bags to the chute and replaced the containers with new ones. Put some empty jars in the bag and set off down the lift. Then back up to the apartment when I realised I had not got the hearing aids in. Huh!
Some tenants were waiting in the foyer for the bus. Chat a quick chinwag, then out to the recycling bin with the glass jars. To the bus stop, where, I was met with the others coming out. A quick verbal session where the gals put the world to rights.
Caught the L9 bus into town. Had a go at the crossword book en route, did reasonably well too.
Dropped off and crossed over into the Victoria Shopping Centre (Mall), where for the first time
I saw a toddler getting into one of the Intu trolleys that were made to look like a kiddies car. The light was not good in there, but I managed to get this poor effort for a photo of the overjoyed youngster selecting his chosen vehicle.
Walk to the other end and into the Tesco Metro Store.
To the bread section and got a loaf of their own-label sliced Sourdough Bread 75p.
Then to the Chinese part of the place, and got a bottle of Hoisin Sauce £1. Then some caramelised gravy granules £2.
To the fresh produce section and got a packet of fresh pod peas 750g for £1.50, a small pack of button mushrooms 90p, and on large baking potatoe 57p. I used the self-serve counter without too much confusion. (Head swags with pride)
When I got outside it was even windier and rainier (Rainier, is that a word?)
Walk along to my least favourite road, Clumber Street.
Took this photographicalisation in the drizzle, the rain had suddenly steadied a bit.
There seemed far less folks on it this morning… er… afternoon now.
Hobbled along Milton street and onto Upper Parliament Street.
Not many folk about here either.
The drizzle and high winds persisted.
I love the way the woman behind the bloke in this picture appears to be peeping in my direction over this shoulder? Hehe!
Turned left and down King Street. I think was the best of shots I took today.
Down here, passing three Christian singers beling out songs in the rain, and into the slab square. Pretty bleak in the rain and getting even hight winds.
Limped up Queen Street and to the bus-stop, where a lady and gent fellow tenants of the Woodthorpe Court were waiting for the bus that was due in eight minutes, at five minutes passed the hour. We had a decent chinwag. The bus had not arrived at fifteen minutes passed (Should that me past?) the hour.
By 23 minutes beyond the hour, still no bus. So all three of us went down the hill to catch 40 bus home. I sat with the gal pensioner and we had a natter with Bert who sat behind us en route.
All dropped off on winchester Street Hill, and hobbled back to the complex.
Soon as I got in. I put the bag down and got the potato heating in the oven. Set the timer for one hour. Put the other bits away and got the computer on to update this page.
When the alarm went off, I checked the potato and it was not ready, so turned it over and returned to doing this diary update.
Took the spuds out of the oven and scooped out the flesh into a mixing bowl and added much strong cheese, a knob of butter, vinegar and a tiny bit of salt. Thought I did not need much as there would be flavouring in the cheese that included salt? Got the spuds back in their husks and into theoven for half an hour to brown them off and crisp the tops.
Three mini-cheese and pickle pork pies and a very rich tasty Pork and Mushroom pate!
Got the meal prepared, served and eaten with much relish and joy!
The cheesy potatoes came out almost perfect. I dined like a King! – Although, I don’t expect a King would have to burn so many fingers cooking his own meal and sit in a £300 second-hand recliner passing wind as he ate his nosh and then have to do the washing up? Hehehe!
Did the pot washing, minor Accifauxpa when I cut my finger end on the knife tip… again, right on ine of the spots close to where I burnt it taking the potatoes out of their husks earlier. Ah, well.
Nipped into the wetroom in hopes of encouraging some movement on the Porcelain Throne. No luck, but got ‘things’ stuck half in / half out so’s to speak. Damned painful and took ages to complete the task. Medicated and cleaned things up and back in the kitchen.
The winds howling, the rain a-belting down in a torrent and my poor Copse suffering the brunt of it.
Bet I’ll see some damaged trees in the morning when I go to the surgery.
Sat down to watch some TV, with a warm satified glow in the tummy from ingesting the crispy topped cheesy potatoes, and felt good. An Alan Davis introduce programme came on, ‘The Dog Rescuers’ I think. They saved a grossly underweight bitch that was heavily pregnant with an anticipated nine pups in her. It was heartbreaking when the vets had to do a C-Cut procedure to extract the pups. Four didn’t make it, the other five did and found ‘Ever-homes’ shortly after. The bitch was fed, neutered, nursed, fed and returned to her owner?
0345hrs: Woke remembering just one singular bit of a dream sequence I’d had clearlyish. (Not a real word this, but I like it. Hehe!) There I was floating in the air looking down above the MP’s in the Commons, as I glided above, and by each one, I made a note of their crimes and dishonest actions that floated up to me from each individual brain, by talking into an old mechanical calculator that I assume I thought was a recorder? No other memories whatsoever, though?
Out of the £300 second-hand recliner and off to the Porcelain Throne. Amazed, that Anne Gyna and Duodenal Donald were both absent this morning. Not complaining at all, though!).
Got the mug of tea made, and got the computer on, full of hope and prayers that the Google Chrome issues had been sorted. Opened Google and things looked good, no freezing or becoming unresponsive at all yet?
0415hrs: WordPress dairy updating was done for yesterday, then I started on this one.
0615hrs: Remembered to take the morning medications and did the Health Checks.
Sys: 148 Dia: 82 Pulse: 77 Temp: 36.1 Weight: 14.82. The weight had shot up steeply from yesterday morning. I imagine this was because I couldn’t get out for a hobble combined with the bigger than of late meal yesterday, are the reasons?
Got the Diary for Friday posted on WordPress and emailed to a few friends.
Excited at the thought of being hassle free with Chrome, I went to the email to send things and… “Google Chrome has become Unresponsive”!!! Boy, am I annoyed! Clicked on Wait for Programme to respond option. Five minutes later, it came back and worked.
I tried going on Facebook. Oh, dear! Time after time it froze, no way I can concentrate like this.
I’ll just get the photo’s on Facebook and tell folk about the hassle and wait for Sam to come again and try to sort me out. Double Humph!
So very depressed now. Gave up on the computer, made and ate a massive meal and fell asleep.
Dreampt of me being with someone on an old train as passengers, no idea who it was. We were trying to find out where we were, outside night, foggy dark, kept jumping off the train and back on… that’s all I can recall.
Woke five hours later, made a cuppa, took the med’s and tried Chrome again.
Within a minute of opening Gmail, it became unresponsive again! Waited until it came back on and emailed Sam again to let him know if it suits him, I’ll be in all day tomorrow.
So then tried WordPress and this went funny too and stopped me using it until I closed it, lost the updated script and restarted it again to write this.
Perpetually (If that’s the right word?) suffering from Unresponsive sites and frustrations.
The innards started rumbling, and stabbing pains started. Fretting and worrying I suppose?
Bother was coming from all sides now, not just Facebook and Email sites.
Tried to use the Outlook email, but it wanted so many details to let join it, and they demanded my phone number so as to send me a number to use to gain access.
Sent it to me through a text on the mobile.
Which I’d never used before, and got into a pickle and a half trying to sort it.
Naturally, I couldn’t!
Demanded more code numbers, but I’m afraid I could not cope with the tiny press button things and got into rather a panic and thought, Sod It!
Gave up trying.
Concentration destroyed by all this worry and failure to solve the issues.
The stomach is getting bad now, and I feel Duodenal Donald getting ready to make life hell for me, I know the signs.
Got a message from a very witty clever satirical artistic chap, someone I follow on the WordPress. Saying they too have similar problems with Google Chrome sometimes.
After laying here for five or so hours trying to get to sleep, I rose at 0420hrs in response to the new pain under the left arm near the ribs to get an extra painkiller.
Made a nice strong brew and took the normal medications at the same time.
But this mug of tea did not get drunken… oh no!
Had a freeze thanks to Arthur Itis and the mug is now deceased, broken, kaput!
Then, when getting down to sort the mess out, I had another dizzy spell. Not the best of starts to the day?
Got the prizes and nibbles in the bag ready for the Thursday Winwood Tenants Social Hour that should have been yesterday, but Penny who now runs it (Sometimes like Stalag Kamp Guard) had got to a funeral then.
The stabs of pain from the ribs under the left arm continued.
Computer switched on, many emails arrived. I found 862 Spam messages? Looked through them and changed some that I knew.
Had a bash on Facebook.
Got the ablutions tended to in grand style – Teggies all cleaned (all eight of them, Hehe), a good shave, carbolic soaped me all over, deodorised the flobby-body, pain gelled the feet and knees, antisepticated the areas needing it, haemorrhoids creamed and got ready to go to the meeting.
Met some tenants on the way down and hobbled to the Winwood Community shed.
Very short on numbers today. But the few who did go seemed to have a good time. Obergruppenfurer Penny. Who told me a free fish and chip meal is going, on Wednesday 26th and would I like to go. I said yes, and that seemed to shake her up a bit? She told me I’ve got to meet at the bus stop at 1130hrs on the day, must not be late, do not take any bags with me, not to forget my colostomy bag (How does she even think she knows these things?) and inform her immediately if I change my mind about going.
Had a laugh or two and got back to the flat, made a cuppa and on the computer. Decided to save room in the WordPress gallery by permanently deleted 154 photographs in it. Then realised I’d removed the page headers with them! Had to make some more up. That was well over two hours lost. Tsk!
Rang Olive, no answer. I think it might be her Whist drive day?
Updated this dairy.
Went on Facebook.
Started new graphic, hours and hours spent on it until I lost the flipping thing! No the foggiest idea what I did, but when I closed things down to get the meal started and sorted then returned, I could not find where I’d saved the graphicalisation to? Very irksome!
It was getting late now, I wondered how the day had gone so quickly?
Got the meal started, not that it took much bother tonight.
Think the eyes were bigger than the mouth… no that’s not right, is it?
Eyes bigger than the stomach, that’s it. With the sandwiches I mean, I overdid them a good bit. I’ve never thrown so much fodder away in one go before!
Within an hour the breadbasket innards was a rumbling contumeliously and noisily gurgling away!As I lay there, naked
Rinsed and changed into the jammy bottoms, took a swig of antacid and the evening medications with an extra Codeine.
As I lay there, naked chested I swear I could see down to the outer part of the tummy bulge, the well-swollen stomach bulge at that, moving as if something was inside and wanting to be outside of it?
Reminded me of that space movie where creatures burst out of a woman’s belly. Even the already over sufficient grab-handles seemed bigger than ever? Hehe!
Got the goggle-box on and stayed awake for a couple of hours despite feeling so tired and weary?
Getting to sleep so unbelievably late, meant I didn’t wake up until 0445hrs, very late for me usually.
Sat pondering on the dreams I’d had, not much detail recalled, only that they were about my past life I think. Anne Gyna was letting know she was there.
Out of the £300 second-hand shaking and shuddering badly as it lowered me down to get out of it recliner and off to the porcelain room. Little Inchy and Haemorrhoid Harold, thankfully, were both a lot better bleeding-wise this morning.
Carried out the Health Checks.
The only concern was the weight increasing almost daily. I suppose my not getting out so much will have something to do with this? I must try to get out for a walk again later today.
Made a brew and took the medications and applied the creams and lotions, then got the computer on and updated yesterday’s diary and got it finished and posted.
Started this one off, had an emission of wind, and had to hasten to the porcelain. Tsk! All okay.
Made a mug of tea to replace the one that had gotten cold. Decided while in the kitchen, I’d get the mushrooms in the crock-pot on low. Added some mushroom soy sauce to them, shouldn’t need any salt or black pepper with this sauce in?
Back to the computer and found and used at the top, cause it made me smile.
Did some WordPressing. Then spent hours on Facebooking.
Getting the chance to extol the virtues and flavour of the Polish Bakery half-wheat, half-rye natural sourdough bread.
Appetizing, hardly any crumbs and not too expensive to buy.
You can get it online at Morrison’s for 89p, I think it was… or 79p for a sliced 400g loaf.
I wonder, whether maybe or if Morrison’s will slip me a back-hander for the free advertising?
Hehe!
Set-to doing Marie’s and Marys graphicalisation of there sorting out the competition lady lurking in their Park. Took a few hours, but I think it’s come out alright.
Tired now from concentrating, certainly not through owt physical cause I ain’t done no exercising.
Been drizzling down with rain now for hours, not that this affects me, just hope that it stops by the morning when I have to hobble into Sherwood then Carrington, to get to the surgery for the INR blood test.
Got the din-dins sorted in no time. roast potatoes,
Garden peas, soy flavoured mushrooms, roast potatoes, crispy smoked streaky bacon, two boiled eggs, roast belly pork, silverskin pickled onions and cheddar and soft cheese. No tomatoes of any worth available at the moment, all bitter. The last two slices of the half-wheat-half rye sourdough bread. A banana and lemon curd yoghourt (Very nice!) followed.
Settled down to watch some of the Boon DVD… drifted off and dreamt of my being chased in underground tunnels by all sorts of people and things. Some I recognised and could name, strangers and small, weird creature of all types and shapes, everyone one being coloured orange? I was really nervous, and out of breath running on the gravel and kept falling over, each time I did, my pursuers stopped chasing me until I got up and started running again?
I woke up with a jump, thinking it was early morning, lay there thinking and making notes of the dream to use late in this diary, then realised I’d only been sleeping for a matter of minutes? Odd that!
The racing mind did not let me get back to sleep for yonks, think I dropped off around midnight.
