Inchcock Today Friday 28th October 2016: Inefficacious computer problem solving again today, Humph!

In Welsh: Dydd Gwener 28 Hydref, 2016

Up and on the porcelain by 0405hrs, a bit of bleeding this morning (Haemorrhoids), but other ailment friends, Arthur Itis, Anne Gyna, Henry Hernia, Duo Denal and Roger Reflux were all being beneficent, benevolent and amiable to me. Even Little Inchy was no bother today.

Got the Crock-Pot going with the vegetables. Onions, parsnips, carrots, garden peas and tomatoes. I hope to get some mushrooms later to add to this mix.

Spent hours failing to get the computer sorted, I’ve got two new messengers coming up from HP that need urgent attention, it says.

I dare not do anything else before Sir Duncan comes on Sunday to have a look at it for me, bless his cotton socks.

Attempted to get the graphics imported to CorelDraw X8, again, with an astoundingly persistent 100%  failure rate. Huh! I think I am guilty of dereistic thinking if I hold out any hopes that I can get the CorelDraw working again?

More hours on Facebooking, glad to say it’s allowing me to post without any dispute at the moment. Many comments received, most heartwarming that.

I’m spending so much time trying to sort the CorelDraw X8 out, I’m not getting around to other things. Such is my desire to be able to create again from scratch.

Had a good ablution session and got down for the half-past L9 bus.

Took a photograph of one of the many construction surveyors on the site, this chap was between the bus stop and the Community Shed.

You’ll have noticed I made a bit of a Whoopsiedangleplop of taking this effort? Hehe.

The mode selector had moved yer see.

Ah-well!

I had intended to go to Arnold and Asda-Walmart to get the photographs printed from yesterday’s Social Hour – But, being as I got on the wrong bus again, I carried on into town. Nitwit!

No one to talk to on the bus.

Got off on Upper Parliament Street and took this photograph before walking up to the Aldi Store on Huntingdon Street.

There seems an absolutely amazing lack of people and traffic this afternoon?

Got in Aldi and got some of the seasoned small potatoes, and chestnut mushrooms at 55p, down from 99p.

Walked on, hobbling a bit now, because, where the chiropodist caught me toe twice with her electric trimmer was starting to sting a bit, onward to Tesco. Where I night add, I did not get any fresh cream horns at all whatsoever! (Mind you, they’d sold out) I found some Cheese & Potato Dumplings, though! Got a pack for tonight. Also got a pack of two Smoked Haddock fishcakes with cheese and leeks, I’ll have Crock-pot veg with these tonight methinks.

Had a hobble back to the bus stop. No one to talk to on this trip either.

Got in and a WRWW then turned the computer on, did a bit of Facebooking again, toyed at graphics but it was disappointing with not being able to import CDR and CPT files.

A couple of hours later I called to see Olive. Now let’s be luculent about this, Olive may tell me off occasionally, but only when I deserve it.She told me off!

She told me off for taking her photographicalisation whilst her hair was not ‘Done’!

Back to tiny but loveable number 72.

Got the fishcakes in the oven, beetroot, fish sticks and beetroot on the plate ready.

Added the potato farls and dumplings into the oven with the cakes.

The smoked haddock fishcakes, in fact, everything tasted nice tonight.

Onto the computer to update this diary – and oh dear! Somehow I’d lost all I’d written and had to start again?

Much struggling to stay awake to watch the Goggle-box followed.

An odd day again.

Inchcock Today Thursday 27th October 2016: Some wonderful photographicalisationing today

Computer problems remain

Thursday 27th October 2016

In Zulu: ULwesine 27 October 2016

Up 0400hrs WRHD. Dreamt about boats, fast streams in hills, people in pyjamas flying above, old wooden Chloros bleach crates floating in the creek amidst shop mannequins?

WRHD session without any hiatus.

Took medications and made a brew. Computer turned on and set to trying to solve the mysteries of setting it up to work properly.

Many hours later, I gave up trying to solve the mysteries of setting the computer up to work properly. No success at all.

Did the WordPress diaries. Then graphicalisationing.

Decided to go to Hucknall today, bus to town, tram out to Tesco, all to see if they sell the potato dumplings that I bought the over week, and enjoyed so much, And now, I can’t remember where I got them from. Terribly sad innit? Also, to get some of their sliced sourdough bread to replace the uneatable one I bought from Asda-Walmart yesterday.

Popped to see Olive, but no answer.

Did the ablutions and readied the things for the Tenants Social Hour at the Community Hut.

Down to the meeting, and what a meeting it was, farcical, amusing, laughter filled and frustrated all at the same time sometimes.

The raffle turned out like it usually does. I donated three prizes, a box of chocolates, a large Oreo pack and an Antiperspirant spray.

No Bill Two or Toni today. So, Eddy, BJ and Bill One were with me at the table. Prize winners? BJ: 4, Bill: 3, Eddy: 3, and as normal, Inchcock 0. Hehe! Handed out the nibbles and had a natter here and there.

Representatives from Willmott Partnership Homes arrived, and someone gave a speech, but I couldn’t hear owt they were saying. I spontaneous round of applause rang out, I joined in but didn’t know why they were clapping? BJ explained they had donated some money to the Tenants Social Team. At this, they picked out the tenants they wanted in the photo with their team members, and I took a photograph of them. They selected (Rightly so I thought) the oldest residents there. Eddy (93) Bill (85) centre and May (90).

Obergruppenfurheress Jenny invited BJ to come to the Tenant’s Meal, and he’ll let me know next week. Nice that.

I made my way to the bus stop.

Opposite, were some workmen drilling one of the four holes (Something to do with the water supply) in the ground in readiness to start the upgrading of the buildings:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yShvgXZQBTs

It’s gonna be mayhem when the building crews arrive with the machinery, vans, lorries, diggers, etc. And it is anticipated that up to sixty men will be working at any one time, where do the park their own cars?

Caught the L9 bus into town. Walked down Queen Street into the Slab Square.

Where the continental market was again open, so many stalls and busy for once.

Plenty of choices foodwise, not that I liked the look of some of the stalls with open food and all the ladybirds and pigeons flying around.

Not too impressed with this.

As I got to the Tram Stop, ambulances fire engines and police cars arrived and seemed to be driving all over the place?

I’ve not the foggiest what had occurred or happened, mind.

The Nottingham shoplifters seemed unconcerned.

The tram was cram-packed, and I was lucky to get a seat. Squashed between a rather large lady and a chap in a wheelchair.

Arriving at Hucknall terminus, I wobbled out across the Park &Ride car park, up the road and across to the Tesco store and started searching, without any success, for the Polish potato dumplings. I did get two Sourdough sliced loaves, and some Irish Farls, though. I can now report, that this store also has cream cakes that automatically jump into one’s shopping basket!

On the walk to the tram station, I noticed this sign on the left, outside a pet superstore.

Caught the tram back to town.

This time it was not crowded at all, in fact, when it started off from Hucknall, it had only three passengers on it!

I got the crossword book out and spent the journey going through the puzzles I’d not finished and managed rather surprisingly, to get two of them completed.

By the time the tram arrived in the City Centre, it was once again cram-packed, and it was a bit of a job to get through the students and shoplifters to get off of it at the Royal Centre stop.

As I walked towards the L9 bus stop, a Nottingham Pavement Cyclist was a gnat’s breath away from hitting me! Swine!

He then shot though some pedestrians, as they crossed the road over the tram lines, weaving in between them at great speed. A chap with a beard gave him some verbals.

Note that the Nottinghamians were dressed warmly today.

As I walked around a bit to kill some time before the bus was due, I observed the buses manoeuvring around Queen and King Street.

It amazes me how the drivers get their buses through at all sometimes.

If there is ever a fire around here, it will cause havoc with the bus service?

Caught the L9. And Bill from the flats got on at the next stop. We had out usual absurdly comical to others, chinwag. Neither of us knowing for sure what the other one was saying. Hehehe!

Back in the flat, medications were taken then slippers on, WRWW, and got the dinner cooking. A lamb chop, last of the seasoned hot-pot vegetables, potato farls, small potatoes, Yorkshire puddings with extra gravy, a banana and a cream cake.  (Ther one that jumped into my basket at the shop and was reduced from 99p to 59p) Oh, and some sourdough bread slices.

Read some of the Clarkson book. (I must get a reading lamp, mind you, I still need a high computer chair too).

Watched some TV, all of it in episodes of a few minutes, before I gave up and drifted off in no time.

Inchcock Today Wednesday 26th October 2016: Busy Day – Three women in the flat at the same time at one stage?

Wednesday 26th October 2016

In Hungarian: Szerda 26 október 2016

Woke up with a start again at 0600hrs – by gum, I must have been tired, Nine hours sleep in one go! Struggled to get out of the creaking rattling £300 second-hand recliner and to the porcelain in time.

I’d had a dream about me walking around with a plastic life-size representation of a young lady in a bikini who spoke with me and adored me, but other people around could not see or hear her? I think we were advertising some eatery?

Took the medications and washed up the plate and utensils from last night.

Got the computer on and finished yesterday’s diary off then started this one after doing the graphics.

Dawned on me, I had a busy day ahead. The cleaning ladies were due this morning, the Chiropodist lady as well. And I wanted to get to Asda – Walmart in Arnold to get the photographs from the Papplewick visit printed so I cold hand them out.

Did some Facebooking.

Must get the ablutions done early in case the girls come sooner than usual. Want to get to visit Olive as well.

Ablutionisationing session tended to.

Letters arrived from the bank and Queens Medical Haematology Department: The INR Warfarin level had risen considerably, new dosages. I checked on the Gmail and found one from the surgery, they had made my next appointment for Monday. The last one from the Clinic.

The regular Hygiene ladies arrived and set about pretending to clean up. (Only joking here of course)

I took some photographs of the gals, but Gita was not too keen and ducked on me! Hehehe!

While they were grafting, Chiropodist Susan arrived on her first visit to me.

I’ve never had three lasses in the flat before – but I liked it! Hehe! The girls finished off, I gave them some nibbles, paid them, (I had to, they had seen the £30 on the bookcase and grabbed it after confirming it was for them) and bade them a fond farewell.

Susan set up her mobile foot stand and started to clip the toenails. She was concerned about the middle toenail on the right foot; For some reason, it is smaller and much thicker than the others and growing outwards she said. Susan then gave it extra attention with the electric file. Adding, that other than the actual toes, the feet were in good condition for a 70-year-old. She filed a bit of hard skin and rubbed some oil into them. I paid the £30, thanked her and off she went.

The funds are getting low now, £60 gone this morning, but I have some cash left to go get the photographs developed and get some fodder in.

I got the Crock-Pot going with the vegetables. Onions, parsnips, carrots and tomatoes, seasoned with some lamb gravy granules, so it goes with the lamb hot-pot I’ve got in the fridge for later.

Cleared up and got ready for a bus-ride to Arnold. Called to see Olive; she told off in no uncertain terms about calling at her mealtime. I apologised and gave her a two-lire bottle of Lemon & Lime flavoured spring water. I thought it a good idea in the event of any more water stoppages). Suitably and beautifully chastised, I left.

To the bus-stop, and a good chinwag with some other tenants en route. The toes were stinging a bit, but this soon disseminated entirely.

Got to the Asda-Walmart in Arnold, Photographic counter, and got on the machine to sort the piccies out.

Did some shopping while the photos were being done.

I got: Sourdough Bread (A terrible decision it turned out to be uneatable when I got home and tried to cut it, Tsk!), carrots, peas, Cox’s apples, Min beef pie and some raffle prizes for the Tenants Social Hour tomorrow.

Back to collect and pay the £2.50 for the photographs. Then, there being a decent while before the next L9 bus was due, I had a walk along Front Street, calling into the Fulton Food Store to get some sterilised milk.

Wandered into the Barnado’s charity shop. Unfortunately, they had some Jeremy Clarkson books on sale.

I bought the two of them. Now, this man I do not like in the least, but his writing I do find so enjoyable. The sarcasm he used is good and well done. Clichéd of course, but he does sometimes find an original thought.

So, now I have four of his books, I’ve read one, and at the time I laughed out loud. Very politically incorrect and unacceptable nowadays of course. Whether I survive long enough to get to read them is another question. (Hehehe!) Another £4 spent.

To the bus stop and caught the L9. Had a chinwag with a lady on the way.

To the porcelain as soon as I got in the flat. The odd bit of blood noticed.

I met Roy going into the flats, he was outside having a puff again and gave him the photographs I’d taken the other morning in the laundry room and had just had developed.

Got the food going, veg already in the crock-pot of course, I put some potatoes I’d got at Asda in the saucepan and the lamb hotpot in the oven.

Onto the computer and tried Facebooking and it let me work okay again!

Andy, posing in his runabout Hehe!

I got a video message from Andy in Canada. IT took me a while trying to find out how the thing worked, and on the video of me, only the top of my head showed.

I couldn’t sort out how to change it, so had to stand up so Andy could get the benefit of seeing my youthful, handsome good looks. (Joke)

Despite his having problems, he told me a good joke, and I asked him if it would be okay to put it in my diary. He said alright, so here it is (Cleaned up a bit, Haha!) Hope I can remember it, I wrote it own, but can’t find where now, (Humph!):

A man went into a bar and approached a woman saying to her:

“High there, I wondered if you’d be willing for me to consult with you about life?”

She answered, squeezing his lower region appendage in a vice-like grip: “Well yes, of course, I’ll screw you in the kitchen, bedroom or anywhere you like or don’t like being screwed! You’ll be totally drained and a broken man by the time I finish with you! I’ll take everything you have to offer! Any extra’s will be at my discretion, and if you don’t like it, too bad!”

“Oh,” says the man, “You’re a lawyer too?”

Well, I liked it.

The dinner had overcooked a bit with my forgetting all about it when I got excited with Andy messengering me. I remain a clot of the highest order!

Got it served in the dish and had a vanilla dessert with it.

The Crock-Pot vegetables went well with the prepared lamb hotpot tonight. Really enjoyed it.

As I took the things to be washed up, the sky looked beautiful. More colourful than of late.

By the time I’d washed the things up, the sky had changed to a dark grey as the sun disappeared.

Got settled to read the book, but the light was not strong enough for me to read quickly. So, that’s a new, or second-hand computer chair and a lamp of some sort to go over me £300 second-hand recliner chair so I can read at night betterer! Hehe!

Put the gogglebox on, and for once, did not start nodding off every time the adverts came on. Reckon I managed to around 2200hrs, before going off altogether into the land of nod.

Inchcock Today Saturday 1st October 2016: Shoppaholic Inchcock

Saturday 1st October 2016

0300hrs: Up for another WRWW and stayed up, the sleep was not good. For some reason, the brain was rambling and confused this morning. But I remembered to say the White Rabbits like.

Thinking back about the dreams I’d had, one involving some activity with Grizelda from 1960, and the knowledge dawned that these wonderful experiences will never take place again, didn’t do me a lot of good. Hehehe!

Went into the kitchen and turned on the light… Whoopsiedangleplop time again! – I’d left the tap running in the sink when I put the pots in the bowl to soak last night! No hot water again! Worra plonker with bar. Tsk!

Sorted the week’s medication pots out. Another WRWW.

Laptop on and checked the emails, Google Calendar (Nowt on for today) and finalised and posted the Friday Diary.

Took a photo from the kitchen window with the reflection from the doorway on it, so made this graphicalisation for a bit of fun.

I might try later on, to do a TFZer Caption Competition with it?

What do you think?

Carried out the daily ablutions and took the rubbish bags to the waste chute.

Wrapped up warm and set off down to the bus stop. Lots of tenants there waiting for buses, but none for the one I wanted. So no gossiping on the way to Arnold, today.

Got a decent ‘Moody Photograph’ at the bus stop, facing North behind the apartment blocks.

For some reason, it came out darker than it actually was? Perhaps cause the sun was shining through a gap in the clouds?

This young Mother had her daughter lose on the handlebars of her bike as cycled along on the pavement.

Dropped off at Sainsburys had a bit of luck there. I found the Surimi seafood I wanted and forgot where I got it from. Along with some Marmite cheese bites and a packet of cooked chestnut.

Sauntered gently and slowly along the road to the Arnold Market Place, only a few stalls, a terrible fruit and veg one, a bric-a-brac one, and one selling old DVDs.

I might nip back to have a decker there when I get my shopping done: if there is time before the bus arrives to get me back to the porcelain at the flat. Hehe!

Hobbled to Boyes Store in search of some foot and shoe spray they often have in stock at £1 a can. They had some, so I got one of each.

Limped to the Saver Shop next door and searched for the Neutradol Fabric Freshener Spray, in luck again, so I got a couple of them too. Along with a toilet block cleaner and some razors.

Then along to the Fulton Food Store and got just a Special Priced short-dated pack of Oxo Beef Onion & Rosemary gravy cubes. 67p marked down from £1-69 it said.

The bags were getting heavier now, I struggled over the road and into the Asda (Walmart) store to get some fresh stuff. Got some vine tomatoes, the last pack of four Cox’s apples, a bag of King Prawn imitation seafood things (Nice) and a pack of two lemon frizzles.

The bus was not due for a while yet, so I went to the photography printing machine and ordered some photographs that I took last Thursday of some tenants at the Social Hour. I ordered them to be ready in two days, so I must remember to collect them on Monday or Tuesday. Crossing my fingers on this one! Paid for them, very cheap when you order and give them time, only cost 25p a print this way.

Grappling with the now heavy bags I made my way to the bus stop. The bus, as they all seemed to be late arriving.

Caught the L9 bus, as we waited in the queue of traffic I noticed the Arnold Fish Bar.

This is the one that got such good reviews on the web.

A shame, it is so far from home, or I could try it out.

Then again, there are no shops or takeaways near the flats at all. The nearest being in Sherwood: and a sad selection to pick from too. So by the time I got to fetch any eat-out food, it would be well cold by the time I get it back to the apartment.

At the mini-Island near the Sainsbury store, we had a long wait in the traffic jam.

I did get some entertainment there, though. The right hearing aid picked up some static and the odd word from someone communicating with a control room? That’s the second time this has happened to me, despite the Audio Team telling me this cannot occur!

Back to the flats and hastily lugged the bags up and got a much needed WRWW, just in time too.

Made a cuppa and got the Triple-Fried oven chips cooking, and made up the plate for my home-made Fish Supper of sorts.

Laptop on to update this a bit.

Got the fodder served up, battered fish cake, Surimi, two false prawns, strong cheese cubes, tomatoes, beetroot, shrimps, mushrooms and the terrible tasting never to be tried triple fried chips again!

Apart from the chips, everything else went down well enough. The Surimi is especially tasty.

Cleaned the dishes and settled to watch the first of the Man from Uncle films from the DVD I’d purchased from the Arnold Market.

I’d forgotten how badly they were made and produced!

By gum, it took me back, though. Robert Vaughn as Napoleon Solo, David McCallum as Illya Kuryacin, and Leo G Caroll as Mr Waverley.

Despite the pathetic script they all played it dead seriously too.

Loved it. I even stayed awake all through it!

Took me back to the days when I had my own heart, hair, hope and I didn’t look like a hylaeosaurus. Hehe!

Put the TV on and soon started to nod off. Sprung awake, an hour or two later, desperate for a WRWW.

A thirst had developed, would that have been through eating the fish meal?

Took this close up from the window of some ‘Moody’ looking dwellings.

Dreamt of Sister Janet earlier, we were in Welbeck School Yard, and she chased off some lads having a go at me. Bless her!

TTFN all.

Inchcock Today Thursday 29th September 2016: Tenants Social Hour day

Thursday 29th September 2016

0255hrs: Aching all over, sneezing and coughing I awoke pondering on the dreams I’d had. I was in a queue of people at St Peters Gate… a group of bearded men walking down the line and they all stopped at me, and drew a cross in marker pen on my chest? That is the only bit I can recall in any detail, although later I think I was in a boat that was sinking?

I  could feel the benefit of my trying last night to increase the heat from the storage heaters, but think I might have overdone it a bit. The place felt warm and snug I thought.

Thinking it was later than it was, I extracted myself from the working perfectly again £300 second-hand recliner and hobbled into the kitchen, took the medications and made a brew.

Got the vegetables prepared and into the slow cooker Crock-Pot, the potatoes in a saucepan on a low heat.

Good news from the WRHD session, no struggle, only the tiniest bit of blood from Haem Aroid, and Little Inchy no bleeding at all. Anne Gyna, Duo Denal and Roger Rea Flux all being kind to me. The odd sneeze now and them, but Nae bother.

Got the Social Hour things in the bag ready for later. Laptop on and started this off and finished yesterday’s post.

Did much graphicalisationing and Facebooking for a few hours.

Checked emails: Then did an order for Iceland.

Got the ablutions done, and smelling sweet again, I went off to visit Olive. She might not be in, though, today is her Scrabble session, I think.

Olive was in, she told me off, for forgetting her Scrabble day is on a Tuesday. She was not available for a cuddle or gossip, though, as she was just going into the shower to do her ablutions. I apologised and left.

Off to the Tenants Social Hour at the Community Hut.

It was bit windy this morning, but the sky looked fabulous to me?

I had a walk around both blocks of apartments and back to the front of them.

On the greenery between the chestnut trees, as I turned around to go to the Community Shed, I noticed how my shadow looked rather amusing, with me legs apparently elongated somewhat.

Hehe!

So I took a photograph of it to give you a laugh like.

Wandered over to and into the hut, where I received my second telling-off of the day from the two tenants who run the session.

I had arrived too early.

Then, as I leant the bag on the edge of a table to get the raffle prizes out to put on the end one, she told me not to put my bag on the table, and gave me a highly disapproving stare!

Oh dear, what a start to the day.

Not so many folks there this week. Bill and BJ turned up, though. Most people seemed to have a real happy time. Funny, this week, there was were only three of us on out table instead of the usual six

Funny, this week, there was only three of us on our table instead of the usual six.

But that didn’t stop the raffle prizes being won on it, I won one, Bill won four, BJ won three and good old Eddy won Six!

The others there didn’t half give us some stick for that! Hehehe!

The reflux valve started to play up, and I thought I’d leave, only a few minutes later than usual, to get some medicine down me.

Called at Olive’s on the way, no answer.

To the porcelain for a WRWW first, then had a swig of the Aludrox, stirred the Crock-pot vegetables, turned off the now boiled potatoes and got the laptop on to do a post about Mike Steeden’s poetry book.

Did a humorous graphic to go with it.

Took a few hours, but I was mildly pleased with the resultant effort.

Feeling a bit tired now, but why?

Had a go on Facebook and checked the emails.

Got the Cumberland pie in the oven. About 40 minutes to go and I should be serving up the pie with the Crock-Pot vegetables and new potatoes… better get to the porcelain. Hehe!

By gum that were good!

New Potatoes, Cumberland Pie with cheese, onions, swede, carrots, leeks, garden peas, mash, minced beef, delicious gravy.

Two slices wholemeal bread thins, followed by lemon drizzle and a Cox’s apple.
Mmm! 9/10

Felt done-in now! Sudden weariness.

Settled to watch some TV and managed to, as well for a few hours. Then the calls for a WRWW came thick and fast. Up out of the £300 second-hand recliner, to the porcelain, back to the recliner, kip for a while, up out of the…

Tsk!

Inchcock Today Sun 5th June 2016: Got out for a bit of a walk – Arthur Itis not happy about it mind. Hehe!

A misty Sunday 5th June 2016

I woke around 0300hrs, passed some putrid scented wind and fell asleep again.

Jumped to life at 0440hrs, the memories of the dreams had lucid parts. I was definitely at Stalingrad 1943, no idea which side I was on, but I was ensconced in a battle-scarred building, had no food, ammunition or water and had a wound that had, wait for it… a Native Indian arrow sticking out of it?

The mind then considered the ailments, and I found that Anne Gyna was letting me know she was there, the sore throat a lot better, no coughing although I did sneeze a few times. Arthur Itis had bent the right foot to the outside right again, the itching across the chest and left arm had returned too. Nevertheless, Little Inchy was not bleeding, even if Hem Aroids was flowing again. Tsk! Overall, not too bad at all, though. Roger Reflux had gone down nicely as well.

But I must get a good wash of some sort early today… the pong yer know! And, also and besides, thankfully the rumbling stomach had eased off somewhat.

I pressed the down button on remote of the £30 second-hand Recliner, nothing happened, so I climbed carefully out of it and made my way to the porcelain to clean up the mess from Hem Aroids and get my clothes into the laundry bag, then made use of the accoutrements. Much blood, but it soon stopped after I’d cleaned, creamed and medicated the area.

Into the kitchen, kettle on and took this photograph of the dim view from the window.

When I looked at the outcoming photo, I thought the aliens were arriving?

Reckon it was the reflection from the kitchen light fittings?

Assembled all the thing needed for a good ablutionising session at the sink. Took a while having to collect everything from all over the place, forgetting where I’d put stuff when I moved it out to make ready for the shower work stumped me at times.

I stood in a bowl of water to soak and freshen the feet while I did me teggies and had a shave.

Tried to cut my toenails, but Arthur Itis was having none of that this morning.

Eventually after much hassle, I got it all done (Apart from the nails that is!) Made a cuppa and took the medications, then did the BP tests. Not too pleased with the test results this morning, though: Sys 133, Dia 66, pulse 70, temp 34f. Bit different to the usual. If I remember, I’ll do them again later. But I wasn’t feeling anywhere near as bad as yesterday, and no dizzies yet.

Well, up to now anyway! Hehe!

I thought I might risk a walk in the park and to the shops later, although being Sunday and no buses to catch back in case of bother from Anne Gyna or Arthur Itis, and they’ll be no fresh foods in the stores… maybe not? But I’d like to get out, fed-up with being stuck in.

Cleaned up the things from the stand-up bath. Thanks to Hem Aroid I now have extra clothing that needs washing and the laundry bag is nearly full – Humph!

Laptop on and started this, then finished yesterday’s waffle.

Decided that I would risk a walk out this morning, so set off for a hobble into Woodthorpe Grange Park, took my camera with me.

Plenty of dogs with tails wagging in the park. Stopped and had a watch of them on the way into Sherwood.

There were many of the Pavement Cyclist about too. If I’d photographed them, all the SD card would have been filled!

Got into Sherwood and called in the Co-op store. Spent a bit on the Special Offers. Walker’s Bugles and Blitz Towels. Got some English vine tomatoes, a fresh looking salad pack and a Newspaper.

I got some Vouchers at the check-out. One for £1 of your next shopping. One for 50p off your next shopping and one for 50p of any Co-op pizza.

Out and walked down to the bus-stop to see if a number 40 was due soon. I had time to nip down to the Wilko store and get a roll of black bags. When I got back to the bus-stop, the chap from the fifteenth floor was there. We had a natter, and I told him I’d bring the Sniper book up to his flat later.

We caught the bus the three stops up the hill and hobbled back to the flats. I took the bits back to the apartment and collected the book and took it up to his flat. He kindly gave me a cup of tea and let me take some photographs, from his windows and his kitchen.

His is a double flat. The kitchen is ginormous! Of course, it is for two people.

Lovely views. We had a good chinwag, and I had to leave because he was due to go out again. I thanked him and returned to my own single flat. It looked terribly cramped compared to his, but that is the beauty to me. Less cleaning!

I got the laptop on to update this, then did some graphicalisationing to use later.

The Nosh.

Appetising, Cod balls (No comments please, Hehe), Apple, radishes, vegetable crisps, mixed lettuce, great tomatoes, beetroot, red and yellow peppers, onions in olive oil and caramelised onion pickle. Ate some wholemeal bread thins with it.

There was a rather unfortunate incident, Whoopsiegangleplop with the small pot of low-calorie ice-cream, though. Tsk! When I was getting it out of the fridge I had to force it out a bit and the plastic bowl cracked. When I started to eat it I discovered that some of the shards of plastic had embedded in the food – and of course, idiot here got one in the mouth, and ended up with a bleeding gum. Hey-ho!

Took the medications and visited the throne. Good news, no bleeding from Haem Aroid or Little Inchy!

Everything I tried to watch on the box, I nodded off at the first commercial break.

Horrible dreams.

Inchcock Today – Wed 16 Mar 16: Opprobrious Inchcock!

Wednesday 16 March 2016

I bounded up out of my hammock.

Took a picture of the morning from the kitchen window.

Dropped to the floor, did 100 press-ups, some shadow boxing and down and up the twelve flights of stairs in the flats, to loosen my joints, singing merrily away as I did so…

I did take the photograph, though.

Back to Reality then: I stirred in my damaged 1959 imitation leather armchair and detected a warm wet sensation from the nether regions. Little Inchy obviously needed attention. As I reached for my stick, I realised it wasn’t there? Perplexed for a moment, I struggled up and had a look around and found the stick underneath the armchair? Even more perplexed then.

Arthur Itis had returned with his intense pangs, twinges and stabs, but Roger Reflux was being kind to me, Anne Gyna her usual self. Had a bit of a ‘Little Inchy’ mess to clean up in the bathroom. I felt atrophied.

Made a cuppa, took the medications, and then got straight onto the laptop to try and sort out the Coreldraw X8 functionalities. Changes some options and preferences, it seems to be working okay, I’d not adjusted anything on the old Coreldraw X7 for ages, and struggled a bit to gain access. Thick fool that I am! Created the graphic at the top of this page okay.

Finished yesterday’s diary off and posted it.

Had a quick bash on Facebook.

Got the bathing and ablutions tended to; Little Inchy seems to have stopped bleeding, at last, more crossing of fingers!

Hearing aids, bus pass, mobile phone and cash card all in my pockets, I made my way down the lift, met up with some other residents who were at the bus stop, gave them some nibbles and a chinwag ensued. They all got on the L8 bus, just me and one other got on the L9 to town.

I dropped off on Upper Parliament Street. There were no shortages of buses this morning.

Called into the Pound World, but they didn’t have any of the pots in again.

It was nice sunshine now, but terribly cold with it.

I decided to have a wander around the Pound Shop on Lister Gate, the Pound Worlds and 99p shop in Broad Marsh, and the Pound World in town, in search of some of the lidded small boxes for my medications.

As I walked down the side of the Council House on my way to the Broad Marsh Centre, an altercation was taking place between some yobboes, just around the corner.

I took a photo of three police officers, who seemed totally uninterested as the patrolled the front of the Council House to make sure the Councillors who arrived for the meeting would be safe and would have somewhere to park. Humph!

Up to Bridlesmith Gate, where I tried to take a moody photograph, but failed.I got through the poor Big Issue sellers corner without to any hiatus.

I got through the poor Big Issue sellers corner without to any hiatus. This one I liked, a Scottish chap with a booming voice, wished each person a happy day and thanked them for nothing. I slipped him a couple of quid for his style.

Down onto Fletcher Gate. The pigeons were out in number.

The Big Issue Sellers there were at a disadvantage as hey didn’t speak good English.

A few Pavement Cyclist were about, but too quick for me to photographicalise them.

Onwards I plodded, trying the three pound-type shops as I got to Broad Marsh, none of them had any pots. But I did get some Lavender soap, one for Sister Jane, and one for me to put in the airing cupboard with the clothes.

I also weakened when I called in the DVD shop.

I’ll not say how much I spent because I’m ashamed of myself. Dr Who is to blame!

Then I went to the 99p Shop, who also didn’t have any pots in stock. But still spent around £9 on cleaners. Tsk!

Out of the top end and back onto Bridlesmith Gate, where I to passed the Scottish Big Issue Seller, who was still giving his loud verbals out, bless him.

Back into the Slab-Square.

Managed to get a photo of one of the Nottingham City Council mini-cleaning electric machines to put on Facebook for the American TFZers, at the Old Folk’s site.

The sky was looking nice again, but the wind was biting.

I had a hobble about until the bus was due. Then a nice chat with a lady at the bus stop. Caught the L9, and was soon asleep on the bus; I did feel a right clot when the lady woke me up just before we arrived at the flats, much to the amusement of the other passengers, and the driver who remembered me doing this last month he said. Hey-Ho!

Got in the flat, passed water, and put the kettle on and made a cuppa. Then started the laptop and updated this diary. For some reason, making many faux-pas along the way?

Hours later, I made another brew and got the simple nosh for today cooking. Oven chips, beetroot, pickled onions and egg, Irish Batch bread and cooked ham.

Finished off with a custard & jelly dessert.

Rated this one at 9.44/10.

Watched some episodes of Doctor Who First series, but had to give up when I kept nodding off too often. The rewind button on the remote control is looking faded compared to the others on it. Hehe!

Woke around 0100 hrs, oh dear, Little Inchy flowing again. Cleaned the haemoglobin and him up, and head down again.

Inchcock Today – Tues 15 Mar 16: Downloaded the New Coreldraw X8 update – three hours later, I got it installed!

Tuesday 15 March

0705hrs: My nearby posh neighbours

0525hrs: Got up when I woke up, rather late due to my ridiculously late getting my head down last night, and I wrote down a bit of some of the dreams I’d had, to use later.

Not feeling so good this morning, not surprising, after yesterday’s mind and body battering I took. Huh!

Got the return bags and the trolley ready for the Morrison delivery. Laptop on and titivated the Monday diary, and got it posted off.

I can’t get the picture of the waterless pond and the suffering ducks from my mind.

The delivery came and I stored away the fodder. I can’t help but think I’m overdoing it with the home shopping yer know? Hehe!

Got the washing and accouterments ready, and them and my book down to the laundry room. Someone had left a note on the washer I usually use, explaining it was Kaputt! The first one’s lights were lit either. Luckily, Olive from flat 84 came by and explained to me that it never had lighted before it starts the wash, and demonstrated how to set it to me. I thanked her and we had a nice natter.

Got the washer going, and wandered down to the Community Hut and gave Dean and Julie their Easter eggs. Another good gossip was enjoyed. I returned to the laundry room and got the washing out to go into the dryer – it was extremely wet still? I got the dryer going, but knew that I’d have to give it another go afterward, to get the clothes properly dried.

Back up to the flat, and got the laptop on to update this tosh.

Noticed the notes on the pad about the dreams, but had to rely on these records alone, and the memories of the dreams had gone now.

A gigantic pink yacht, snobs, unpleasant, drowning, guns, submarine, lost head still alive. Prison. – Not very clear are they? Hehe!

Facebooking until time to go down and check the dryer.

Blow me down, the clothes were still damp! Had to spin them for the third time!

Lilly was in the foyer, so I nipped back to get some nibbles for her.

Returned and Lilly had gone. So read my book while the dryer, at last, got the clothes dry enough for me. Blimey, three hours to get my laundry to dry!

Deana Walker and Frank came in the laundry room while I was emptying the dryer and singing ‘The Young One’s” to myself, I did feel a fool!

Back up to the flat and updated this diary, after storing my clobber away.

Got the neck of lamb in the oven cooking very slowly, and opened a tin of Lamb Bhuna with vegetables. This might have been a mistake, I tasted it while stirring it in the pan, it was too hot and spicy for my tasted. I made some plain lamb stock and added it, hoping it would make it less volatile to the pallet. Fingers crossed.

Not too bad as it turned out… well, not as bad as I thought it might do if you know what I mean?

Maybe, not bad, or maybe not too bad is the best description?

Rated it 7.9/10.

The update from CoreldrawX7 to X8 came through, so I downloaded it – it took me three hours to get it done and working. Huh! The original product code was a devil to find, then it didn’t accept the password, so I had to reset it, then I downloaded the 32bit version in error, so had to download and install the 64bit version… my body objected. With it being so late in the night when I foolishly tackled this job, the brain wasn’t too keen either.

They had changed the appearance of the icons, and this caused me to get confused when setting up the workspace. I did so much then had to get the head down, tired out now, poor thing. Hehe!

TTFN.

Thu 10 Mar 16: Inchcock Today – Community Social Hour this morning

Thursday 10th March 2016

Woke very late, gone 0430hrs. No signs of any dizzy thankfully. Arthur, Gyna, Hem Arroids and the ulcer were all in a good mood, only Roger Reflux was giving me any real hassle this morning.

No signs of any dizzy thankfully. Arthur Itis, Anne Gyna, Hem Arroids and the Duo Denal were all in a good mood, only Roger Reflux was giving me any real hassle this morning. And, no blood from Little Inchy either!

Remembered the Winwood Social Hut Meeting was on at ten o’clock (Looking forward to this!).

Noticed the large bag of washing, still awaiting my attentions. I must see if any machines are free after the ‘Social Hour’.

Got the laptop on. Made a cuppa and took the medications.

Out of Nicorandil, but the regular statins and beta-blockers were there. I must get to the GP surgery to try and get a prescription sorted.I know, I’ll email them now asking for one and check when this months dollop of medications will be ready for me to collect. Hang on a second

I know, I’ll email them now and ask for one and check when this months dollop of medications will be ready for me to collect. Hang on for a second, please. Got it done and sent via email.

Got the nibbles and gifts ready in the bag for the meeting.

Finished Wednesday’s Inchcock Today, and started this one off, then I had another session of starting the next ‘It’s Been a Funny Old Life’ Part 6.

I only got as far as doing some graphicalisationing, the header and some smudges ready to use later on, though. Had to get the ablutions done so as not to be late for the Social session.

Did the teggies, shaved, used the throne then got into the luxuriously doctored bath. When I around to sorting ‘Little Inchy’ out; Oh dear! The blood flowed and flowed, hell of a job stopping it. Used the Betamethasone cream, but it was ages before it stopped leaking the red stuff.

I must tell the GP about this and get another appointment at the GUM Clinic sorted out.

Then, as I was cleaning the bath after my scrub up and little soak, I noticed the bruising on the right arm where the Obergruppenfurher Nurse had used another vein after so long using the same one without any bother.

Also, a mystery burn mark on the back of the hand?

Confused about that one I am!

Off down to the Windwood Hut, not so many folks there this morning, but we all had fun and laugh. Gave the organisers some prizes for the raffle. Eddy, the 93-year-old chap we all love was absent, he’s had to go the doctors go for an inoculation. I won a mini-bag of Marshmallows, my hearing aid batteries both packed up and BJ arrived late (Fany that!).

I tried to use the Instax mini camera, but it would not work for some unfathomable reason. Tsk!

I gave some of the girls a small Smarties Easter Egg and I was tickled pink when they all said they liked them.

BJ reminded me he was lifting me to the Carpet place in Arnold after the gathering. He also offered to lift the 82-year-old lady we sit at the same table with, who was sat on his right today in this photograph. That was jolly nice of him!

I left a  few minutes early so I could get to the flat and put some new hearing aid batteries in.

I met BJ at the car park and then collected the lady from Winchester Court. Dropped her off on Mapperley top, and carried on to the carpet place. I got one for £20, no plain coloured ones available again.

BJ offered to lift me to Asda, also in Arnold so I ould get some bread.

We arrived in Asda car park, and BJ checked his tyre pressures while I went in the store. Where I got carried away once more; Got TV magazine, Irish Batch bread, Irish potato thins, several desserts including Lemon Sundae, Strawberry and Raspberry desserts and a ready meal of Lamb and Colcannon mash.

BJ ran me back to the flats, loaded me up with the bags and roll of carpet and departed, saying he might come again next week. I hope he does, cause the old dears like him now.

As I entered, I saw one of the washing machines was free; So I nipped up and put the things away, got the washing and accoutrements and went back down and got the washer going.

Then started to read my book. Lilly turned up, and luckily I’d got some chocolate coins in my pocket to give her, she expects some nibbles when she sees me now, in fact, she demands them, bless her cotton socks!

I moved the clobber into the dryer and went back up and started to update this diary somewhat, and titivated some of the graphics to use later.

Went down and the dryer had finished, packed the clothes into the bag and back up to number 72.

Did some more of this diary, but was feeling fatigued as usual. So I got today’s last of the lamb chops in the oven, to slowly cook through.

Put the baked beans in the saucepan ready. The Irish Batch bread at hand, to dip into the sauce and beans.

Just hope I stay awake long enough now. Hehe!

Did some Facebooking.

Finally, the fodder was ready. A simple fayre for a pure fool.

Baked beans, lamb chops, Irish Batch bread followed with a very lip-smackingly sweet Honey flavoured yoghourt.

The lamb chops, well, at least, one of them, was 70% bone – but what meat there was, was so tasty! The excessive amount of bone kept the rating down to an 8.9/10.

A Whoopsiedangleplop followed, well I say, Whoopsidangleplop. More a minor hiatus. I was looking at a terribly poorly made produced and performed DVD film. So bad, I decided to throw it away afterwards. It was an insult to prisoners in the concentration camps.

I watched some TV, and when I cleared up and took the rubbish bags and threw them down the chute and returned to the flat – I realised I’d thrown away the wrong DVD. James Bond and Miss Moneypenny had bit the dust! Hehe!

Got me head down, well I fell asleep watching Law & Order.

TTFN all.

Inchcock Today. Sunday 6 March 2016: He has an involuntary mud-pack applied?

* * * * *

Sunday 3rd March 2016

Been awake for ages, stirred into action around 0500 hrs, carefully mind! Roger Reflux valve and Anne Gyna had both been giving me grief during the night. The lower back seems to have calmed down after all the bending to clean up after last nights series of Whoopsidangleplops!

Not feeling so good again (So tired and again already) now, but not complaining, at least, the ulcer and Arthur Itis are both being kind to me this morning. I made a cup of tea and took the medications. Getting low on Glyceryl trinitrate now, good job I’m going for the INR blood level test tomorrow, I’ll ask for some extra. Dentists on Tuesday.

Found some bits on the carpet from last night’s Whoopsidangleplop with the fodder, that I’m missed when cleaning it up. Very gently I got down and picked them up, took them to the bin, and returned with a damp cloth and got down again delicately, to try and remove the stains. Did a reasonable job, then getting back up again I felt the warm wet feeling coming from Little Inchy’s area. I’m managed to get the lesion bleeding again. Into the bathroom to clean him up, then applied the Dakacort cream again. While in there, I popped on the throne. As I sat there, I noticed the carbolic soap in the tray near the bath, and felt cheered up a bit somehow? Is it, or not is not sad for an old fart to get himself taken to heart at the thought of having a bath using his beloved carbolic soap or not?

While in there, I popped on the throne. As I sat there, I noticed the carbolic soap in the tray near the bath, and felt cheered up a bit somehow? – Is it, or not is not sad for an old fart to get himself taken to heart at the thought of having a bath using his beloved carbolic soap or not?

I looked at the laundry bag; it was getting filled up again, so decided today to get the laundry done. If I can catch a machine, that’s not in use. Decisions decisions Hehe!

After I get the laundry done, I might get a walk in the Woodthorpe Grange Park while the dryer is working and get some photographicalisationing done?

Best see how the weather develops.

The scene from the kitchen window was nice looking.

The thermometer on he window side was up to 57ºf.

I got the laptop on and completed yesterday’s diary. Then, checked the weather forecast for today; Cloudy, 44ºf and the winds twixt 7 and nine mph, doesn’t sound too bad that.

Had a good wash and brushed up, the shave producing several cuts on te chin and one on the neck.

Took my bag with me with the dirty washing, and got down to the Laundry Room. Got the washing machine on ‘Fast mode’, and did some crosswords in the foyer while waiting. Not many folks around today and those that did pass-by were not in a talkative mood to reply to my “Good Morning, are you keeping well” greeting.

One washer machine and one dryer were in use. As soon as my wash had finished I got to clobber into a drier. The one that was in use had ended earlier, and someone had left a green bag on top of the machine. I took their stuff out, and folded it into the green bag and left it on top of the dryer. I was obvious by the clothing, it belonged to an old dear.

I got the dryer going and departed for a walk up to the park with my camera.

I decide against going round the back of the flats into the park, as it looked rather muddy.

Hobbled up the gravel footpath instead, not that was a lot less muddy.

The Copse had many broken branches strewn around, as did the path at the top the of the hill.

Up, on the main footpath, at the head of the hill, the mud was unavoidable and very slippy. I noticed some daffodils or narcissus growing under some trees and foolishly tried to walk closer to get a photo of this wonder of nature.

I saw some daffodils or narcissus growing under some trees and foolishly attempted to walk closer to get a picture of this wonder of nature. What a plonker! Got myself stuck in the mud, nearly lost a shoe, and had a hell of a time finding a way back to the path without slipping over! Tsk!

I walked up the path to watch some football match for a while, but gave up, even the road was covered in mud at that end.

On the way back after deciding to retrace my steps to the flat, I met the Greyhound Lady with a different Whippet. He was friendly enough, and the lady told me this dog refuses to walk in mud and always avoids it. I wish I had been as wise!

Many people out in the park today.

I managed to get down the gravel path and into the foyer. Tried to clean off some of the mud on the kerb beforehand, not very successful, though.

I went into the laundry room and used some tissues and ran water from the tap to clean up my shoes best I could, and then tackled mud on the bottom of my jeans when I noticed it putting my shoes back on.

I wished I’d known who’s the washing in the green bag was, it had still not been collected, I could have taken it to her flat for her.

Did some more cross-wording while waiting for dryer, to finish. Got the togs folded into my bag, and got back up to the flat. Put the clothes away and made a cuppa.

Laptop on to update this diary, the started the ‘Ode post’.

Got it done and posted, and then went on Facebook.

Feeling a bit better now, Anne Gyna has eased off a lot.

Got the fodder prepared. Beef slice, potato cakes, roast vegetables, four little potatoes, made gravy, beetroot, and put black bean cooking sauce on the slice. Then when I served it up, dropped two chicken thighs on the tray. Greed!

Crossed fingers it comes out okay. Strawberry dessert (Last one, sob!) for afters.

No Whoopsiedangeplops while making or eating this gastronomic delight. Pigged it and ate the lot! (Coy mode adopted)

However; when I did the washing up afterwards, I found it no effort at all to drop the washing-up liquid bottle and coat my trousers socks and slippers in Morrison’s Savers green liquid. Then slid painfully about for a few seconds on the now almost like an ice rink floor.

This incident and the cleaning up afterwards brought on Anne Gyna, Little Inchy bleeding again and even Arthur Itis joined in. Notwithstanding, I kept me pecker up, cleaned it up, changed clothes, took me late medications and settled into the even more damaged 1959 imitation leather arm chair, painfully.

Watched a lot of TV tonight, over three hours. Fair enough, it was interspersed with nodding-off periods, but overall, I did well staying awake. I eventually went off into the land of nod, much needed after the last two nights, managing four hours without hiatus. Zzzz!
