Inchcock Today Fri 20 Nov 15: The runs, dizzies and discombobulated. Humph!

Friday 20th November 2015

01topj9c

Woke still feeling tired, later than usual at 0530 hrs.

WC’s, no smells today – but Little Inchy needed attentions again.

Made a cuppa and took me medications.

My mind seemed to be a little out of control this morning – racing away considering various topic, problems, of it’s own accord? Hard to describe, but for a moment I really thought ‘Hello, I’m losing it, my time is nigh… most weird.

Finished yesterdays diary of and posted it, but still not feeling too good. Dizzies started, stomach ache, can’t concentrate. All this after I felt so good last night too. Humph!

Didn’t risk a bath with feeling a bit unsteady in mind and body, so had a stand up bath and shave instead.

Got down in time for the bus into town.

Had a good chin-wag with the bloke for the 4th floor on the way into town – he had some fascinating stories to tell me.

Phoned Jane and Pete when I got into town to make sure I was alright to go see them earlier than planned, then caught the bus out to West Bridgford.

Old Fooey, bless him somehow knew I was there and came over for a fuss – this amazed Jane and Pete, the poor old cat being partially blind and almost deaf with arthritis as well..

I can’t help it, I adore him to bits.

They helped me back on me feet and made me a cuppa and a grand old natter ensued.

Jane had a cold and didn’t look too well, made an extra fuss of her. Pete showed me the damage to the garage and his car where the tiles had fallen off of next doors roof and through his garage door. Gave her some nibbles I’d taken for her – and she didn’t tell me off once!

Nipped off to catch the bus back into town, hoping I’d make it in time to catch the five passed L9 bus to the flats from King Street.

I didn’t, just missed it. Still felt a little puddled and could not remember some of the things I’d spoken with at Jane’s house.

I had an hour to kill so foolishly went in Primark for a look around and came out with 3 new pairs of undies and a jumper, Hey-ho!

Took a photo of ladies bags on display while I was in there, for the Troll Free Zone gals on Facebook.

Managed to get an ‘odd’ look from a supervisor on me way out with me own bags. Hehe!

Walked through the slab square where the Christmas Noshery stalls had opened and the skating rink was almost ready, think it was due to open later today.

Seconds after taking this photo the skies clouded over and it became a bit dark.

Still had a while to wait for the bus so I wandered around the block up through Clinton Street. Good job me knees were in good nick otherwise I might have got knocked off me feet by the many Nottingham shoplifters… what am I saying, shoppers I meant… rushing around in search of early bargains in the shops.

I called in Tesco on the way to the bus stop to see if they had some Fresh cream French Horn cakes in – they hadn’t, but that didn’t bother me in the least.

Had another dizzy at the bus stop, but only a very short one. The chap for the 4th floor arrived at the stop and we had another natter. When we got on the bus he told me some wonderful stories from his past again. He’s 86 years old and fitter than wot I am.

Got in the flat and used the porcelain, a bit runny and persistent and the stomach started rumbling afterwards?

Got the kettle on and made a cuppa then had to return to the WC for a repeat performance! It took so long the tea went cold and I had to make another cuppa.

I was wandering about a bit now, but not through the knees or dizzies – Mmm!

Might be a touch of flu?

Settle down to update this diary and started shivering a bit, and the wind was belting into the flat again then the rain started.

It got rather heavy too.

Went to get medications from the kitchen and swayed a bit en-route.

Then had to call at the porcelain again.

If things stay like this I might be in trouble. Still I’ve got me wrist alarm bracelet on.

Still hard to concentrate for some reason?

Did some Facebooking okay, and no more dizzies or wandering, just the runs. Six trips now in two hours – how is this possible.

Some lovely comments today.

I’ve asked one of me Cyber-carers Lynda if having soup for nosh is advisable. I actually feel like eating at the moment, not surprising I suppose cause I must have emptied me innards completely by now surely?

Did me emails checks.

Then found I had not emptied me innards completely by now surely, and even had a dizzy on the way to the bathroom!

Took me medications and put a tin of soup in’t pan, and had it with some bread… in betweens trips to the bathroom – getting fed-up with this now… Hehehe!

Hope I get some peace soon from the innards. Head-down sounds a good idea…

TTFN all.

Inchcock Today Thu 19 Nov 15: Woke up a little puddled…

Thursday 19th November 2015

Did a lot better with staying awake tonight, no nodding of until 2100hrs, the blinking started and I reckon I must nodded of dozens of time for a few minutes and each time I woke it was for a few seconds only then drifted off to find when I woke around 0400hrs needing the WC, confusion reined in me brain – really odd… I felt a tad confused as to where I was and why I was here in a flat, yet I knew where everything was, the layout etc?

In the WC and it all became clear where and why and how I got here and a feeling of great joy that I had got here. Bit weird that sensation?

Kettle on, tried hot water it was back on again, made a cuppa and took me medications.

Laptop on and the stomach started to churn a bit again, not the ulcer or reflux this time, the innards. Still, made a change dinnit! Hehe!

Looking forward to having a good bath and soak later. Can’t do it yet, too early. The waterworks make a noise and might disturb me neighbours like.

Finished off yesterdays post, and checked emails.

Started this diary and graphics.

Went to make another cuppa and the view from the kitchen window was startling, so I tooketh a photograph of it.

The rain had stopped, the wind had dropped and all was looking good.

Started Facebooking for a while, well a long time actually.

BJ rang on the land-line, he’s coming for a cuppa at 1100 hrs.

Got a jolly-good soak in the bath, shaved, teggies done and nipped down to the lobby to meet BJ when he arrives at 1100 hrs. Took some nibbles with me and the crossword book.

One of the lifts had conked out – hey-ho.

Settled in a chair in the lobby where I could see if BJ arrived as he’s park in the disabled places across the road from the door.

Handed some nibbles to the lady tenant who was doing her laundry.

1100 hrs came and went, not surprised in the least, BJ has never been on time since I’ve known him. Such a decent chap though.

1140 hrs he arrived.

Up to the lift, I the flat and we had a damned good natter for over an hour, had a strong cup of tea, and reminisced .

He then helped me get the mat laid properly. I gave him his birthday present. He agreed to pick me up next Tuesday to go to the launderette and departed.

A few minutes later he rang, he was outside the door. Opened it and he had bad news – the other lift had gone kaput now!

Poor chap had to walk down 12 floors to get to his car.

Glad I had no plans to go out today… well I had, but it wasn’t important. Wonder when they will get the lifts sorted?

Made myself another cuppa and got the laptop on to update this amazing diary (Hehe).

Started the graphics for me latest post.

Took me hours and hours, to get them something like right, but I enjoyed doing them like.

“Inchcock Shows Signs of Contentment”

Then did the text, that just flowed easily and naturally – it’s rubbish and bad English but I think it’s fun.

Got me nosh in the oven and in the pan and called me sister Jane to see how she was. Good chin-wag and it transpires I am allowed to visit her tomorrow before 1300hrs as long as I call first to make sure they will be in.

Beefy oven chips, chilli with black bean sauce and the last two cheesy cobs, followed by orange jelly and spray-cream.

Rated this one 9/10.

Did the washing up and sat down to read me book…. Zzzz…

Inchcock Today Wed 18 Nov 15: Mega Pong from the Bathroom. I mean mega!

Wednesday 18th November 2015

Woke at 0310 hrs, Coughing.

Recalled bit of me dreams and wrote them down: On a stage performing with some other peoples who I recognised but could not recall exactly who was who and this annoyed them, my forgetting their names as it seemed it was part of the song we were singing? Very confusing.

The coughing had eased a lot as I put kettle on – and cleaned the pots I couldn’t do last night due to the burst water main… well I started to, but had to hobble to the bathroom to find ‘Little Inchy’ tender and needing more care and attention. I must get to see the GP again about this problem.

Back to finishing the cleaning and made a cuppa, even made another search around for the missing Dixon DVD, but I reckon it’s gone for good.

Laptop on, had me medications while I thought of it, and the stomach started churning a bit.

Finished Tuesdays Diary and started this one, after much forced effort, trips to the porcelain and about two hours.

The back went when I was bending to open the bottom drawer – Huh! Click, pain, swear word and took ages to straighten up – sad innit? Humph!

Did me emails lots of em too today, started this diary and then did some Facebooking. Have to rush a bit to finish me Facebooking, cause I want to get a bath and spit and polish before the bus comes and I can try again to get to feed the ducks on the canal.

Feeding the the ducks on the canal had to be cancelled!

Opened the bathroom door and nearly passed out with the smell!

Had to have a shave and stand up wash by boiling water in the saucepans, in the kitchen sink as the hot water was cold due to me leaving the tap on in the kitchen – Tsk!

I went to the hut to report the stink and a lady was there to speak with people who came along to the open day (Prospective tenants). I reported the situation and said I’ve got to go to Sherwood to get some bits and I’d check when I get back.

Walked up the hill into Woodthorpe Grange Park and down onto Mansfield Road the left up the hill and down into Sherwood.

Poddled to Wilko’s and got some tape, half-price Dettol spray disinfectant and asked a lady if they had DVD cleaners, she pointed the directions out to them for me but when i to where they should be on the shelves there were none.

Hey-ho!

Walked back up and over the hill to the park and walked up the footpath to the top.

Saw some lovely dogs enjoying themselves en-route.

At the top when I turned right and down the dodgy footpath I met a lady with two scruffy but oh so happy mutts it cheered me up just seeing them.

Down to the flats and up the lift and opened the bathroom door and cor-blimey the stink was worse than ever!

I sent an email to Deana the coordinator for the flats and she relied quickly that she’d be up to see me soon.

The Morrison delivery arrived and he could smell the sh… aroma from outside the door!

Put the stuff away and sprayed disinfectant in the bathroom, down the bowl and air sprayed inside too!

Started to update this diary and Deana arrived and checked the air outlet, that was working, flushed the loo etc. I pointed out that when I first came here there was a tape, yellow and black spread over the bowl telling me not to use it under any circumstance. When the plumber arrived he was a bit aggressive in tone telling me there was nothing wrong and to use it. Tutted, muttered and left!

She called the works department and told them the situation.

They told her to tell me to use it and it is not considered an emergency so they will try to get today up to 2300hrs (Yes 2300hrs) but it may be any-time up to 1600hrs on Friday when they arrive to investigate. Any work needed may take longer.

She trotted off with a smile and cheerio.

I made a start on me  graphic for the Marissa Bergen Blogger Band Part Two. Going to take while this one.

I was so glad I went to the shop earlier today – the howling wind rose up and the rain poured down!

The plumber chappie arrived, and when we opened the bathroom door, the stink was a of far less potency and it seemed clear that it was fading now? I explained what had occurred and apologised for bothering him. Red Faced Again!

The hot water was slowly heating up, but the smell, although not so bad that still lingered in the bathroom was too much for me to sit in a bath with.

Got me nosh on.

Sweet potatoes in better, beetroot, pickled eggs, BBQ American sausages and soft cobs topped with cheese.

While the potatoes were cooking I gor a bit more of the Marissa’s Barmy Blogger Band graphic done.

Then tucked into the nosh. Rated this one at 9.49/10.

At last set about putting the last touches to Marissa’s graphic and here it is.

Posted it of with a bit of funny script added to it. Here’s a bit of it:

Inchcock Today – Tue 17 Nov 15: Rain, wind and Coughing

Tuesday 17th November 2015

Woke at 0410 hrs, feeling a bit sorry fer missen again. Coughing, Little Inchy a mess, and finding it hard to concentrate for some reason?

To the WC, trying not to cough and disturb me lady neighbour. Cleaned up Inchy and got the kettle on.

Another mystery…

I noticed the sole Dixon of Dock Green DVD and wondered where how and why I’d lost the other one yesterday.

I wondered if I’d ever find the missing DVD – or had I thrown it out with the rubbish or what?

On the bright side, the reflux valve and angina was not too bothersome at all this morning.

Took me medications and checked the pad on Little Inchy.

Laptop on and finished yesterdays diary.

Did some Facebooking and went in the kitchen to make another cuppa – and crunch! The right knee went again. I think I might have sworn at the time, I just hope it wasn’t too loud and disturbed me neighbours. (Oh dear)

Rushed a bath, had shaved and polished me head. WC’d and went down to the community shed – Deana was in, gave her a nibble and the letters I keep receiving for Margaret the last tenant of the flat. Back to the foyer and waited having a gossip, well, more listening to the tenants also waiting.

Out to the bus stop and I ‘d missed the City bus. So I caught the one to Arnold instead, of course this meant I wouldn’t get me artificial flowers today.

Caught the L8 and dropped off Sherwood and waited with the others in the shelter and caught a  bus into Arnold and called at the Asda superstore.

Got some lemon yoghurt, beetroot, tins of green beans and whole beans, big jar of beetroot and some jelly babies, all on offer price – and do you know, I found something else out about Asda in Arnold… Their fresh cream French horns also jump into your shopping basket, just like the ones at Tesco, mind you, they are dearer.

Walked to Fulton’s Foods and got two tins of baby carrots.

The bag was heavy now, and the rain started to come, so I made me way to the bus stop.

Got back just as the rain started in earnest.

Up to the flat and put the cakes in the fridge.

Got me washing and stuff in the bag with a book to read, and set off down to the laundry room.

Had a good read while waiting for it to finish, about an hour.

I read me Brian Cough book I got from the charity hop – that reminded me, I’ve got some bits for them again, must take them down to them in the morning.

Transferred the togs into the drier that the previous user did not de-fluff (Naughty pensioner!) and gave the washing machine a good clean while I was at it. Then back up to the flat for another hour while it dried way and made a start on this twoffle. (Another new word here, there’s no stopping me yer know… Hehe)

Put the kettle on and noticed out of the kitchen window far away, two large birds with what looked like pink plumage on a roof…

Got me camera from the coat pocket and zoomed in to take a photo through the drizzle – Huh! They flew off as I was focussing in! No idea what they were.

Still, considering the weather, the roof came out okay. Hehe!

Back down to the laundry room got togs out of the drier, cleaned the filter and back up to the flat.

Laptop back on, put the togs away.

Did an order for some groceries for tomorrow, didn’t need them but next week is loaded with medical appointments so I thought best to stock up like.

The rain started to get serious and the wind joined in.

Made another cuppa with the intention of drinking this one.

Going back to the laptop I heard a noise but couldn’t find where it came from at first. Slightly perplexed I searched around…

Found it was the cardboard box I’d taped over the air vent in the kitchen to lessen the draughts yesterday. Re-taped it back on the wall. Tsk!

The coughing returned that I suffered with last night, so I took a swig of Morrison’s Chesty Cough Medicine, it seemed to help a bit early this morning.

The oven had heated up and then I pondered on what to have for nosh tonight.

I needed to make room in the freezer for a big bag of chips on offer I’ve got coming tomorrow, so took a look at what was in there to use.

Rather full innit? Oh dear, perhaps I should not have ordered the special offer chips, so many in here already? Humph!

I see a mark on the floor in front of the freezer in this photo – hang on I’ll go and check it out…

I’ve cleaned it up, got down with the Flash and a cloth and cleaned it up. Mind you, getting back up again was a struggle.

I’ve just this minute got a phone call on me land-line, a rarity that. It was a recorded message from Severn-Trent Water telling me I’m going to lose me water supply due to a burst water main. They are working hard to restore it. No bath or washing tonight I reckon then. I thought the flow was a bit weak when I cleaned the floor a couple of minutes ago.

That makes it of the last 10 calls I’ve had since getting the phone; 1 from Steve Age UK, three wrong numbers, 4 recorded messages and 2 unwanted sales people. Just thought I’d mention it like.

The wind is getting even worse here now, very noisy I can hear it with me hearing aids out, but the rain has eased.

Put some big chips in the oven, set me alarm for half an hour, then I’ll put some BBQ flavoured sausages in for ten minutes and the chips should be done at the same time?

I’ll get some beans in the pan to warm slowly now. Please note: I am trying to me logical here, not easy yer know. Just done that, didn’t hear the alarm though. Decided as the TFZ gals who look after me from afar have been telling me to eat more greens and as I’m not allowed brassica in me diet, I’d have a tin of the cut green beans wot I got from Asda today instead of baked beans. Oh I am being good ain’t I?

Set me plate out and this is how it looks.

Demolished it in short time and got tummy ache! Double Humph!

But were good tasting stuff. I might have given it a rating of mammoth proportions but the cut beans, while being good for me, were very bland, so gave it a 9.3/10.

Couldn’t do the washing up in cold water so I didn’t.

Had a search for the Dixon of Dock Green DVD again, once more failing.

Feeling weary now, so checked the TV paper to see if owt worth watching was on.

Some good stuff, two Top Gear programmes and a film at 2100hrs. I managed to get to watch the Top Gears in 33 parts in between dosing off periods and can’t remember getting as far as the film.

To the porcelain around 0200hrs, the water back on. Little Inchy needed attention.

Inchcock Today Mon 16 Nov 15: Fretting again…

Monday 16th November 2015

Woke at 0045 hrs, on the bright side, the knees were a lot better now.

But I was fretting over the problems with getting the house sold and the demands of the solicitor and in need of advice. Duncan yesterday gave me a suggestion, about the solicitors demand for a current photographic Passport or Driving Licence ID that I don’t have?

I forwarded this via email to Steve Age UK, but of course as usual he was not available it being the weekend, and I always seem to get official letters on a Saturday.

I’m really worried about this now, as I fear the buyer being messed about will not wait much longer and pull out of the deal?

That will put me in a pickle of mammoth proportions!

Moved into the kitchen to put the kettle on, then to the WC and had again to sort Little Inchy out. Summat else to worry about this.

Feeling glad me knees were a lot better, other things replaced me to be concerned over… felt a bit frustrated and sorry for missen I’m afraid to admit.

Made me cuppa and let it get cold while finishing weekend diary and starting this one.

My head seems muddled this morning – can’t concentrate on anything properly – the solicitor problems have taken over me brain I think. I should get an answer from Steve UK today, and that will give me more to worry about if I don’t?

Maybe after me food delivery, I should go to the solicitors and ask them about what I can do about not having the required passport or driving licence. Never had a passport, and of course the driving licence was forfeited after me big operations – rightly so, I could not bring myself to drive again anyway with the risk of me falling asleep at the drop of a hat.

Nor exactly a cheery diary today is it? Sorry about this.

Yes, I think I’ll do that today, go and see them. Luckily I’ve cancelled the INR Warfarin blood level tests on today.

The stomach ulcer is giving me gip now. Tsk!

Cuppa and took me medications.

Almost had to force missen to go on Facebook, feeling so low.

Once I got on, I cheered a bit, but soon as I got off the depression returned. I do feel bad about feeling bad.

Had me bath and searched for the letter from the Solicitors to take with me later – even amazed myself that I could lose such an important letter, this made me feel worse than I was already feeling… half an hour later I found it in the kitchen? Then I remembered showing it to Duncan in there yesterday. Huh!

Had a cuppa and back on the laptop while waiting for the Food delivery.

Gone dark again now and the rain cometh down.

Morrison’s arrived a little late, so I threw the cold stuff in the fridge and left the others in the trolley then shot off to catch the bus. Just in time too. Walked through town and up Friar Lane to the solicitors.

The lady on reception was busy keeping having to answer the phone calls. I managed to give her their letter and ask her if there is any other way of getting things moving again as I do not possess a valid driving licence or any passport

She called someone and said to wait for an answer.

I did.

It came within a minute and after talking to whoever the receptionist told me I supply then with a document with my NI number and address on it. She handed me back the letter and as I was putting it away in me newly sorted paperwork fold I realised I’d got me last pay slip from when I was made redundant for the fourth time at me last job, and handed it to her.

She was still busy doing other jobs in between. She got someone to photo-copy the slip and when he returned she gave it back to me and kept the copy.

I asked her if there was anything else they would need that might delay any progress on the sale.

She said we have everything we need now. I wont say Phew yet until I’m certain of this… oh I’ve said it!

Much cheered up but not over-confident I risked feeding some pigeons outside the offices as I left.

Walked down into town, over the slab square and just missed the bus L9 back to the flats.

So an hour to wait – I decided to walk to have a meander through Vic Centre Mall and get some photographs for the TFZ site ladies and lads on Facebook.

A nice touch as I got inside proper, they were having a minute’s silence for the victims families friends and relatives of France.

Had a nip through the market, where I came across a display of paper flowers.

I thought how nice these looked, and real as well.

I walked along taking a couple more photographs for the Facebook page.

Called in Tesco and amazing really – another pack of two fresh cream horns jumped into me bag as I passed the fridge!

Got some bread thins as well.

As I left by the end entrance someone had dropped something edible and the pigeons were having a feast of it!

To the bus stop and caught the L9 bus back to the flats.

Took a photo of the Nottingham Theatre Royal on Upper Parliament Street.

It was so amazing for any time of day, but at this busy time and Christmas shopping time too…

There was a person in view I think when I took the shot!

Caught the bus and fell asleep so often on this journey home I appreciated waking up just before the bus stop.

Nipped in the community shed, door was open but no one around. So I left some nibbles and letters for the last tenant Margaret on the table.

Got in the bathroom and utilised the porcelain hastily.

Put me bits away along with the Morrison’s stuff delivered earlier.

Laptop on to update this diary, but first I had to send Steve Age UK an email to let him know what had happened with the solicitors visit. He had contacted me while I was out in reply to my first email, he was waiting for a reply from them. I explained at length and detail what had occurred and apologised or bothering him again.

I then rang BJ – and ran out of air-time in the middle of talking to him – I must go into Sherwood even though it is getting dark and late now and get a top-up for the phone.

Put the laptop in sleep mode, got me shoes and coat back on and had a walk through Woodthorpe Park, taking me camera with me in case I spotted owt interesting on me walk there and back like…

See yer soon I’m off now…

I’m back as Arnie said.

Called at the Co-op to get me phone topped-up and the machine wouldn’t accept the card – methinks perhaps with running out of funds while talking to BJ –  I might have had it cancelled by EE?

I walked back through the park and saw these two folks with their dogs, amongst many others, that stood out to me. My knees were a lot better than I expected, glad to say. No sticks today.

These two tiny dogs got lost in the long grass at time, as they romped around full of life bless em.

I like living here and feel that as soon as the hassle of getting rid of the house is over, it’ll get even better? Optimism eh? I should know better.

I got back to the flat and shot (Well rather limped) into the bathroom.

Got me potato alphabet waffles and pies in the oven, made a cuppa and took me medications.

Laptop on pottered while waiting for the nosh to cook.

Added some slices of pepper, beetroot and eggs on top of the nosh and was soon tucking into it.

The pie and waffles were nice, the beetroot okay, the eggs fair, the peppers far too hot or me so only nibbled a bit of each slice. Started sneezing while eating this concoction, that didn’t help in the enjoyment stakes. Rated this one 5.5/10 only.

Cleaned up and tried to watch the second of me Dixon of Dock Green DVD’s, the machine built into the TV wasn’t having it! I got out me old 7″ portable mini DVD, that I could not find the lead and pug to… Tsk! I tried the DVD in me laptop but for some reason the picture was very jumpy?

I gave up the idea and had a look to see if owt was on the goggle-box. OH yes, two episodes of Top Gear, so I noted the times and channels and went to take me Dixon DVD out of the laptop, then realised it was the wrong one anyway – thus commenced a fat-wide search for the other one…

Checked the laptop, not in there – checked the old laptop, not in there, checked the TV, not in there. Drawers, boxes, cupboards shelves all searched without any success? If I had the time I’d have done a post for Facebook and WordPress: “The Dixon of Dock Green Mystery!” Not seen it since?

Put me headphones on to listen to Top Gear and the right bit broke off… Another search was instigated to find the spare set that was somewhere in the Steptoe & Son designed bedroom, or at least I thought they were.

More determined than ever, I searched the bathroom (I know, but I was desperate by now) Moved to the front room, repeatedly looking in places I’d just looked in, failure. Then the kitchen, drawers, cabinets, cupboards without any luck, bending down to search under the sink (I know, but I was even more desperate by now) I squashed ‘Little Inchy’ and the blood flowed. Annoyed with myself, I went back into the bathroom to clean things up and had no pads, back into the kitchen to get me spare pack for the Wilko eight drawer storage where I keep me medical accoutrements and guess what? The headphones were in there!?!?

Doctored the lesion, got the headphones, made a cuppa and back to the front room to watch Top Gear… but too late! Humph!

The programmes had finished it took so long to find me headphones! I was so tired now, but had a look on the TV paper see if owt else good were on… Ah, CrimeWatch!

Then I found the jack-plug was the wrong size to fit into me extension cable, pottered about and swapped it with the old one on the knackered headset. By then I’d missed the first ten minutes of the programme and me tea had gone cold.

Settled at last and started to watch TV… fell asleep!

Life eh?

Inchys Weekend Sat/Sun 14/15 Nov 15: Windy and Wet – inside and out! Duncan Calls

Saturday 14th November 2015

Woke at 0355 hrs, Straight onto the laptop to record an idea I’d had during the night for a blog – while it was booting up, I went into the porcelain room for a leak and had to clean up little Inchy – took a while.

Out and into the kitchen for a cuppa to take me medications with.

Back to the laptop and the idea I’d had for a blog, had evaporated into the ether.

I hate it when this happens to me!

The shakes came over me, no dizzies, just shakes this morning, of course they came when I was taking me tablets and drinking them down with me cuppa – I cleaned up the carpet then went to make another cuppa. Boy could I feel the wind coming into the kitchen from the holes in the outer wall behind the cupboards! Opened a cupboard door and was hit in the mush by the cold blowing draught coming through and out into the kitchen.

Other tenants had warned me about this and I had crammed firmly squashed thick kitchen towels up some of the holes where the worst of the draughts were – the wind was so bad some of the towelling had been blown out of the hole! I rammed some more back up the hole, but it had little effect with the cold very blowy wind this morning, brrr! Not looking forward to winter now if this is going to happen every time we suffer high winds.

Back to the laptop, carpet not stained thank heavens.

Finished yesterdays diary and posted it off. Started this one and did the graphics for the header and thought of the day.

Spent an hour or two doing a new post on WordPress.

Checked my emails and replied, then comments of WordPress done.

Got me nosh, last of the BBQ sausages, beef pasty beetroot and garden peas. 9/10 for this one.

Back on the laptop moved onto Facebook. Boy did I, with not going on yesterday afternoon  had so many comments to answer too – just as well I love doing it and getting them. Many hours later… many hours…

I got caught up and returned to WordPress, getting dark and raining now outside… well inside as well without the light on like.

Only just read of the Paris atrocity. So sad.

Sunday 15th November 2015

Woke at 0145 hrs, Little Inchy a right mess and I could recall bits of the dreams I’d had. Not nice memories this time, really scary in a way. I was in sewers being chased by people, then I was in a cave, walls collapsed, climbed out to the surface and everyone had gone, the cities had crumbled, no bodies though…?

To the WC, painfully cleaned up Little Inchy.

The wind was howling again, so loud and draughty this morning (0302hrs) but the rain had stopped for bit.

Made a cuppa and got the laptop on – with the Paris news so tragic I had little enthusiasm for writing funny or satirical stuff this morning, sorry.

Went on Facebook.

Took a nice bath and got ready and went down to the reception area to meet with y cyber-buddy Duncan Robertson who was coming to visit me. In this weather Wind and rain) too, from Birmingham.

Had a natter with a tenant doing her laundry.

Welcomed Duncan, so nice to see him again.

Bestest chin-wag of the month ensued as we had a cuppa.

We went for a walk in Woodthorpe Park. Halfway up the hill, me left knee snapped… not one that for a while, oh the pain! Hehe!

Called in Co-op and I got some jelly-babies, beetroot and two large potatoes with the intention of making cheesy baked potatoes for nosh.

The rain had stopped the winds were highish but not old with it, and Dunc and I watched the dogs being walked and played with on the park on the way back.

Top of the hill I sipped on some wet leaves and the right knee snapped! Tsk! Never had them both snap at the same time. Had to use the walking stick when we got back in the flat.

Dunc gave me advice about the solicitor problem, took some of me old photographs to copy for me.

Dunc posed looking out of the kitchen window. The light wasn’t too good but I caught him looking rather thoughtful I thought?

So nice to see him again and I get a lot out of his visits.

Dunc took a photo of me testing one of me grabbers stick in hand.

Grabbing one of the potatoes I’d just bought in the kitchen.

Sadly he departed and wouldn’t let me walk down with him as I usually do cause of me knees bless him.

Hope the knees will not stiffen too much.

Got me nosh on, stick and grabber accompanying me everywhere now.

Watched an old film on the laptop in the kitchen while the potatoes baked, “The man in the white suit” 1951 with Alec Guinness. Nostalgic, but not  good Ealing film. Took out de defleshed the potatoes, good mix with a bit of salt, cheese sauce and cheese spread and a splash of vinegar all bashed up together and put back in the 3 of the four husks, rn over the tops with a fork and returned them to the oven.

When the film had finished they were cooked nice and brown. Had the last few of the Anya potatoes and two chicken drumsticks with them.

Ate it all up. Rated it 9.51/10.

Cleaned all the pots and pans and surfaces up, hobbling around and then got settled and fell asleep with me book on me lap.

Painful when I woke, the knees that is.

Must admit I was concerned about this, but more bothered about the solicitors tomorrow. I’d sent an email to Steve Age UK about the problem of the Photographic ID required to move on with the house sale and asked him for advice.

Concerned that the buyers of the house might get fed-up with the delays and pull out? Told him of Dunc’s idea of taking a passport photo and getting the GP to sign the back of it guaranteeing who I am. Asked him for further advice, but he is famous for not replying to me pleas in the past? So frustrating!

Sat feeling a tad sorry for missen, yet so happy to have met with Duncan again.

Inchcock Today Thu 13 Nov 15: A better day than yesterday… I’m glad to say!

Thursday 13th November 2015

Woke at 0445 hrs, stayed there thinking of the dreams I’d had. First time for ages that I could recall bits of dream, wrote it down so as to record it here later. Finally rose around 0520 hrs.

The coughing had gone along with the sore throat, the bruises from last nights farcical Whoopsiedangleplops was causing no bother, only the reflux valve playing up at the moment… oh, and of course Little Inchy needed tending to, cleaning creaming etc when I got to the bathroom. Feeling a tad sore after doing this, I ventured into the kitchen and got the kettle on, made a cuppa and took me medications.

Noticed that I had not done a good job of cleaning up the mess I made when I left the tap running and dropped me tray of fodder on the floor last night. Tsk!

Cleaned it up again. Took the rubbish bag and dropped it down the chute.

Laptop on, finished yesterdays diary, Facebooking done and put the kettle on. Looked for me notes about the dream to put in this diary, but couldn’t find them anywhere?

Eventually I thought I must have somehow put them in the rubbish bag? A mystery – so nothing but a few vague memories left about the dream, although bits I could remember in detail? Huh!

The dream had me in a battle: I was high up at a window with an RT and old Lewis gun surrounded with the round magazine cases, some empty: the town below had snipers in the bombed buildings, destroyed tanks and artillery pieces, dead bodies, burnt out lorries and fires and smoke: an Ice-cream van with tank tracks came out of a building and stopped the action. The soldiers and civilians formed an orderly queue?

That’s all that I can recall. A shame I lost me notes, I think there were many more things on it, ah well.

Went into the bedroom in an effort to try to find me bus pass in other coats than the one I was sure it was in earlier. Came across some more books in an open box and picked out the first few – which I thought couldn’t have been better selected if I was looking for me favourites of all time.

I stood the books on me book-case and took a photo of them.

So, here they are.

Everyone a gem.

Found me bus pass, I’d put it in a different pocket than normal. Huh!

Back to the laptop and listened to a Helen Shapiro compilation on YouTube while catching up on this and me new emails.

Did me order for Morrison delivery next Monday.

Got missen a good bath and brushed-up and things ready fer me trip to the City Centre to get some bread and visit the Solicitors Fraser-Brown see how things are going with the house sale.

Went down to lobby and had a  jolly good natter with the other tenants waiting there out of the howling wind outside.

Got to town and wandered into town then up Friar Lane to the Solicitors. The bloke handling me sale of me house was unavailable. Tsk!

Walked back down Friar Lane into town and down to Marks & Sparks food hall in their basement.

Got some bread, drumsticks and Potato rostis.

Out and down into the City Centre again, slipping some pigeons some seed on the way.

Went into Tesco to see if they had any Fresh cream horns – they hand not! Some fresh cream strawberry doughnuts fell in me bag though. Hehehe”

Caught the bus, having another natter with some of the passengers. I liked that.

Plenty of buses around today, many stuck in traffic that consisted mostly of other buses.

Dropped off at the flats, having stayed awake all the time on the trip!

WC’d and took me medications and suddenly the weariness came on again.

Put me bits of Stuff away then made me super-nosh of the day!

Anya potatoes, rosti potatoes, beetroot, tomato and wholemeal bread with the super tasty BBQ sausages.

Had to rate this one 9.5/10.

I enjoyed eating it all up, well most of it and destroyed me cream cakes afterwards.

Thought I’d watch some more of me Dixon of Dock Green DVD of the last series made.

By the time I’d got it to work (The TV’s DVD system thingy) it was well dark and the rain had started to come with the winds blasting loudly around outside. I did manage to watch ten minutes then the DVD stuck and I could not get it to do owt – so had to remove it. Couldn’t find me DVD cleaner that I’d brought with me from the house though – Wiped the new Dixon DVD and put it back in and it seemed to work seamlessly then – as I fell asleep waking up at the very end of the last of the three episodes on the disc was finishing. Humph!

Washed and into me pyjamas and dressing gown, made a cuppa, down in the chair – and that is where I woke up in the morning with me full cup of tea at me side.

Inchcock Today Thu 12 Nov 15: A good start to the day… but the ending was not… Hehehe!

Thursday 12th November 2015

Woke at 0445 hrs. Reluctantly, as I was feeling a bit under the weather with the cough and old I’d acquired, and needed the porcelain, to find ‘Little Inchy’ in a right state and another pyjama bottoms for the wash! Tsk, good start again!

However, on the bright-side, Arthur Itis, Anne Gyna, the reflux valve and the dizzies were very kind to me this morning and gave me a rest from their tribulations.

Got the kettle on and took me morning medications.

Laptop started. Diaries tackled.

Hot water back on again now, had a good bath shave and medicated various regions of me anatomy needing such actions this morning: Stretch lotion on me reflux valve area, Cetraben cream on face, neck, underarms and tootsies. Phorpain 10% on me hands, wrist, knees and feet, Ciprofloxacin and Otomize ear-drops in. Cleaned up ‘Little Inchy’ and his lesion, creamed him up, and Swabbed him, Creamed me haemorrhoids and used some after-shave to stop me neck bleeding where I’d cut it shaving (Waiting for a blocking treatment)…  It’s a lark innit! No wonder I don’t have time to get things done with all this palava and me falling asleep so often. Hehe!

Took me rubbish to the chute and got ready to go out to get some of those fancy Anya potatoes from Sainsburys.

Met with several other tenants also waiting in the reception area for the bus to arrive.

The lady in a white collar is the one who found me hearing-aids the other week for me and came to me flat to let me know – always make sure she get first choice at me nibbles bless her.

Out to the bus and got on the outbound L9 and was soon dropping off right outside the Sainsbury store in Daybrook.

Things going well today I thought…

Fool that I am!

Near the way into the store I came across these here Bling jewellery items on sale.

I don’t go to Sainsburys very often cause of their prices and lack of choice nowadays – but it seems they are branching out a bit with this range of stuff on sale.

I seemed to have attracted some interest from the staff, and then a Security Guard by taking these photographicalisations of the gems on show.

He followed me around for a few minutes. As I approached the potato section to look for the Anya spuds he lost interest and wandered back to the Supervisor on the Help Desk.

Got two bags of the spuds cause they were short dated and reduced from £1.50 to £1.09. More weight to carry, Tsk! Got some jam doughnuts, a TV paper and a DVD of the last series of ‘Dixon of Dock Green’ made in 1966.

Walked slowly up into Arnold and took a look in Smiths to see if they had any cheapo books in that I fancied – they hadn’t. However, they did have a box of all five ‘Die Hard’ filums on DVD. I lent someone mine ages ago and didn’t get it back – Tsk! So I bought it.

Got to the bus stop after a wander around for a bit and caught the L9 back to the flats.

I like having an unplanned wander around – and no guilt at not getting any of the sorting done today!

Hehehe!

Resisted the urge to fall asleep on the bus again, that’s twice in a row! (Superior mode adopted)

As we came up Winchester Street hill I heard an emergency vehicles Klaxons coming from behind the bus and caught the police car through the front screen as it belted past blues and twos going.

Got into the flat and made use of the WC.

Put me bits away and got the spuds on the boil to have later with me nosh.

Looking forward to these, perhaps with some of the BBQ sausages I got from Asda on Special Offer?

It suddenly became lighter outside and the view from the kitchen window seemed to look different somehow?

Still beautiful though.

I suddenly realised I had not seen fellow tenant Norman for a while.

The notice on the board downstairs said tenants meet every Thursday at 1300hrs – so I nipped down, out and along to the Community Shed to ask if anyone had seem him and take some letters I’ve received for Margaret the flats previous tenant at the same time.

Nobody was in, door locked?

Came back and visited the porcelain, changed back into me slippers then got on with updating this piffle.

Made and had me nosh:

BBQ sausages, tomatoes, pickled eggs Anya potatoes, bread thins followed by raspberry jam Doughnuts in imitation cream.

Rated this 9.55/10. Best ever again – top rating.

Then Wednesday’s things started to go downhill a bit…

I clouted me elbow taking the things back into the kitchen to wash-up and dropped the tray all over the floor.

Bent down to get clean it up and had a dizzy. Stayed down a bit while recovered.

Got up and clouted me head on a cabinet.

Carefully got the mop and bucket out and cleaned the floor without any further Whoopsiedangleplops, took me medications, then went in the bathroom for a wash and change into me night attire.

Struggling into the jammy bottoms and they tore around the gussets.

Settled in me chair and put a DVD in to watch. Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949), I was only an ankle snapper when this was made, watched and enjoyed it all the way through to the end without nodding off. That as a first. Thought things were looking up now…

Went into the kitchen to make a cuppa and found I’d left the damned hot water tap running again! Cleaned up the mess… Huh!

Thought I’d watch another film TV this time and got a big bag of pop crisps to nibble a few while watching the film – I nodded off at the first sign of commercials and woke up hours later with an empty giant pop crisps bag at me side and no memory of me eating them all?

I checked the bathroom and kitchen to make sure I’d turned everything off this time and returned to me chair with yet another cup of tea (I’ll get one drank eventually) and another dizzy came while I was sitting, then Anne Gyna started giving me some gip and as I got up to fetch an extra tablet to take I stubbed me toe on the trolley at the side of the chair and knocked over the paper shredder with me spectacles on it and then somehow managed to tread on the glasses! Another visit to the opticians is on the cards now. Tsk!

What an end to what was I thought a decent day! Humph!

Inchcock Today Wed 12 Nov 15: Progress, but still discombobulated

Wednesday 11th November 2015

Woke at 0130 hrs. – to the WC, Little Inchy tended to.

A right mess in the living room where I got so far in sorting the paperwork out before I had me nosh and dropped asleep in the chair last night.

Laptop on to start me diaries.

Made a cuppa and took me medications after doing the diary for yesterday.

Set doing Facebooking and emails.

I sent email to Steve Age UK along with some photographs of him helping me out.

Duncan Robertson sent me a photo of Seren and her big brother on Halloween night. So cute and loveable!

WC’d.

Cleaned the kitchen a bit more and went to have a nice long bath.

When I came out the hot water in the tap was completely cold, I’d left the hot tap running in the kitchen while bathing – Humph! We’re on storage heater here at the flats, so no hot water again until late tonight.

I got on with the paperwork sorting and got some satisfaction in getting a lot done in that department.

Got the things for me trip to the clinic ready, took some nibbles for the nurses, made sure mobile and camera was in me pocket.

WC’d, then set off down to the reception area to await the arrival of the first bus at 0930hrs. Had a jolly good natter with several tenants who were also waiting for the bus and gave em some nibbles.

All three early buses arrived at the same time, one going to the city, one in the other direction to Bestwood and the circular L8.  I was the only one of us that got on the City L9.

IT was a bit dim and windy but no rain today… yet…

Had a walk into Broad Marsh and the 99p shop. Got air-fresheners and cleaning cloths,  didn’t need any fodder cause I’ve got an Asda delivery coming tonight. (Must remember and stay awake!)

Plodded up to the clinic on the Ropewalk – realising I’d forgot me appointment book… oh dear! The nice receptionist who booked me in should qualify as Britain’s Champion Sneerer. I nearly told her so, but being as she was still sneering intimidatingly, stood 6’2″ and weighed around 16 solid stones I resisted the urge say owt.

I was in quickly, dealt with in second there and then moved to another room to await me examination. I don’t often over an hour to concentrate on me crossword book…

The two female what-ever-they-were’s had a cursory prod and poke and five minutes later I was on me way with a prescription for some more cream. It really is unbelievable that today of all day, Little Inchy, after bleeding for so many days on the trot had to decide not to! Flipping heck!

Went to the chemist for me cream, a different one this time.

Walked into the slab square and into the Pound Shop to see if they had any of the BBQ sausages in stock – then came out when I remembered I’d ordered some from Asda on Special Offer being delivered later. And, it’s the Walls ones that are superb tasting.

I did espy some ladies articles they had on sale though.

Just thought I’d mention it like.

In the Slab Square it was nice to see a large flock of people for the Remembrance ‘do’ outside the Council House.

Not many younger folk though, I thought that was a bad sign, with so many students in Nottingham and unemployed youngsters too who could have attended perhaps? I know it was not the official day but maybe they attended at the weekend do’s.

As I got on the L9 bus, a sole pigeon was rooting around trying to find something edible bless him.

I got a close-up shot of him through the bus window using me Panasonic.

I think the usual masses of birds had been scared of by the large crowd.

The bus soon got me back to the flat and I woke up just before the bus stop needed too. Again, it was a close thing though. Hehehe!

Had another nice natter with a tenant when I was going into the complex – I like it when this happens.

WC’d. Tried the hot water still cold though. Boiled a kettle of water so I could clean up Little Inchy. Yes you’ve guessed it – he’s started bleeding again. Applied the new cream, see how it goes now.

Laptop on and updated this twoddle.

Got some good comments come in, and answered them.

Made a cuppa and took me midday medications rather late.

Got me air-fresheners going… then had a dizzy spell. First one for a while so I’m not complaining, but it left me a bit shaky, no more sorting today for me.

Did some graphic creating for a post on WordPress. Took me a while but I enjoyed doing it so far, it’ll take a while longer to get right yet.

I framed and aged an old photograph of me from about 1950, came out decent. Just look at them short trousers!

Mother couldn’t be fussy at the jumble sale eh? When she ran off to avoid being arrested, the clothes situation improved – when it was just me and Dad he simply stopped buying them from anywhere! Ah, memories.

Thoughts of that time returned to me when I got it done. Recalled the Jumble-sale clothes, the brickwork from the train soot covered walls of railway house at number 4 Brookfield Place.

A petite sweet sounding address, in reality a flea pit of the highest order. When the London Express belted by on the viaduct within 12 foot of the house, the windows and frames rattled, the light swung and this never woke me up once as I recall. Ah, memories.

The dizzy cleared fully and I got me  nosh on and eaten.

Petit Pois, beetroot, roasted red onions and parsnips cooked ham and bread thins and oven fries, followed by a pot of Mandarins in jelly. Followed by me evening medications.

Not doubt about it, it was as good a nosh as I’ve ever had, although this rating of 9.45/10 might have been influenced by the fact that the dizzies had just gone, and the reflux valve eased at the same time?

I received the Asda delivery, with the Wall’s thin BBQ flavoured sausages amongst it, just managed to get it into the freezer (4 packs of ten sausages).

The wind outside could be heard even without my hearing-aids in as I settled down with a cuppa in me wonderful new second hand easy-chair.

I selected another ‘New Tricks’ DVD to watch. After many nod-offs and rewinding to catch up I gave up.

Inchcock Today Tue 10 Nov 15: BDSM today?

Tuesday 10th November 2015

So much needs doing! Huh!

Woke after an intermittent sleep at 0400hrs. Fretting over things again.

WC’d, Little Inchy in a state again – must get to book appointment with the GP again.

Cuppa and took medications.

Took me ages to get yesterdays diary finished off with so much going on and wrong on Monday. Hope it gets better today.

Thought about going to get me laundry done early today, but the rain still raining down I decided to try tomorrow instead. I’ll try to get me paperwork sorted today soon as I force myself off me laptop.

Started this diary and graphics.

WordPress and then Facebooking and emailing done. Eventually!

Took me midday medications.

Made a start on getting the paperwork sorted.

Got all me laundry things ready and went down to the laundry room in hope of finding a machine free – and I was lucky, one was free.

Got me washing in as I came out frail elderly lady was wandering about in the lobby. I asked her if she was alright and she told me she had left her flat to go to another one for a few minutes and when she got back to her flat door had been locked, she thought the warden or carer might have locked it. I sat her down and gave her some nibbles and reassured her I’d get someone to help her. Poor old dear was asking everyone who passed about how she could get into her flat again, bless her. Told her to stay where she was and I’d be back shortly and I nipped to the community hut, but no one was in. Couldn’t see a caretaker anywhere.

I returned to the lady and told her I’d dial NCH control, this I did on the entry panel, and a very curt chappie at the other end got the message and just rang off. I assumed he was going to contact someone via the phone.

Back in to the lady, confirmed she was from flat 56 on floor 10 and told her I’d nip up and check on her door to make sure it wasn’t just a stiff lock or anyone had unlocked it since.

As I left the caretaker arrived and I told him I was going up to check on the door.

When I found her flat the door handle was stiff, but it turned okay and the door was open – after I tried it a few times it loosened.

I nipped down and informed the lady and caretaker. Then walked the lady back to her flat and made sure she was able to gain entry. She asked if I wanted to come in for a cuppa but I had to thank her but turn her offer down as me laundry would be ready and I didn’t want to keep folk waiting down in the laundry room in case someone was needing to use a machine.

Tomorrow I’ll nip and see the lady make sure she’s okay and WD40 her door lock for her.

Back down and moved me togs into the drier. Had a good natter with another lady there and gave her some nibbles and had a laugh. The caretaker was using one of the driers drying a quilt? He actually thanked me for my help with the lady!

Got my drier going and nipped back upstairs to continue me sorting of the paperwork for half an hour or so, found some more old photo’s to add to the many found earlier. Memories!

Then I returned back to collect me washing from the drier. Back to the flat and put away me togs in the airing cupboard and on the cloth racks.

Took me evening medications early, as I was feeling a bit drained suddenly and knew what to expect when I get a feeling like this – I was going to drop off to sleep first time I stopped and rested or sat down… I just knew.

Did a bit of cleaning in the kitchen and got me nosh started.

Sweet potato slices in batter into the oven, chilli and sausages into the saucepan. I added some black bean sauce to the chilli, and a few splotches of BBQ sauce and kept stirring the concoction all the time.

Then got some lemon curd tarts ready to have for dessert after me nosh.

Very impressed with the flavour of this meal. Ate this with some bread thins, amongst the piles of part sorted paperwork laying all over the place awaiting further attention.

Rated it 9.2/10

Did the washing-up and clearing up and foolishly returned to sit down and have a cuppa and take me evening medications before starting the sorting again… I drifted off into dreamland and the sorting didn’t get done! Again!

Tsk!

Woke up at 0145hrs, WC Little Inchy bleeding and had to be tended to… Stayed up an updated this tosh.
