Fri 16 Oct 15: Inchcock Today: More confused than ever after today…

IMG_0036
That’s cleared some anyway…
Wilko delivery arrives…

Up at 0350hrs – straight t’porcelain yet again – ‘Little Inchy’ in a state yet again. Looked at the Wilko stuff that needed sorting and set about sorting some.

Well that couple of hours graft did me a lot of good: Now, Arthur Itis has started in me knees and hands, the Reflux valve is making me gasp and me back is playing up again!

WC’d, then made a cuppa, groaned, muttered and moaned a bit to myself and took me medications.

Emails checked, Graphicalisationing started then Facebooked for a while.

Luckily, or unfortunately which ever way you look at it, I realised I’d done me night medication pots up wrongly! Huh, fancy that and Tsk! So I lost an hour or two in resorting them and taking out the second Ramipril capsule I put in the pot in error and replacing it with the Omeprozole I’m missed out.

Back on the laptop to Coreldraw, while listening to G F Haendel’s Water Music on YouTube, very nice.

Did some Facebooking, a lot of Facebooking and some more graphicalisations too.

I changed to listening to some Trad Jazz. (Good this, I just  hope nobody knocks on me door or rings me while the headphones are on me head!)

Still not bathed or shaved yet, and it’s now gone 0900hrs.

I got myself cleansed and polished, and down with the laundry to get it washed and dried. Took me cross-word book with me to try and do some while waiting.

One of the lifts was not working, but I got down alright and soon had me washing in the one free machine and was out in the reception area doing me crosswords for an hour while I waited for the machine to finish.

A lady came past me into the room with a big bag of drying to do and I had to go in and tell her not to use the one drier as my washing would be done in 7 minutes and if she, who had washed her clothes in her machine in her flat used it, that meant I would have to wait well over an hour after waiting already for over an hour for the washer to finish to get my clothes dried. She was alright about it and said she’d come down later.

Got me things into the drier a few minutes later and settled again with me crossword book to wait. Met a few residents and had little natter here and there.

Caught a squirrel outside through the window in the car park though.

I popped back in to see how the drying was going and it had stopped after about 10 minutes. Had to put more money in again, but it went okay this time.

Got the togs out and back up to the flat. Put some of them in the airing, and hung up the others on me Ikea clothes rack, that I am pleased to report has not yet collapsed.

WC’d and made a cuppa, laptop on to update this tosh.

Turning even colder as the day gets on.

Facebooked while awaiting arrival of Steve from Age UK and Nottingham Building Society man.

Steve rang, he might be late arriving asked me to let the NBS man (Sam) know.

Then Sam the NBS man arrived and started talking but his voice was not in tune wiv me hearing-aids. Hard work.

Steve Age UK arrived and they talked and I guessed what they were saying, my lip-reading skills are not good.

I was presented with many papers and signed them. Dug out various paperwork (Showing off me folder/files system) to prove I owned the house and who I was like.

I needed to pay some money to the NBS and gave Steve my card and he got on the phone and paid them via me Visa thingy.

They were off and gone and then I got a recorded message from the bank telling me that five transactions had taken place? Not one as Steve and the NBS man had told me?

I rang Steve as this worried me a bit. Of course no answer as he was off work now.

Worried about this, but there is nowt I can do until Monday at the earliest! Oh dear!

Got me nosh, and had me medications.

This nosh despite me worrying about the bank – was a Super-Nosh!

Rated this 9.4/10.

Sorted me medication pots out.

The usual nowadays fatigue dawned on me.

In fact I fell asleep on the porcelain!

Woke with a jolt then sorted out some programmes to watch on the TV and wrote them down – then fell asleep again before they started!

Inchcock Today – Wed 14 Oct 15: Bus Trip out for the lad (He loves his free pensioners bus-pass!)

Wednesday 14th October 2015

Up at 0335hrs – straight to the porcelain again, Little Inchy bleeding but the haemorrhoids a lot less so this morning.

Made a cuppa and used over the none-delivery of yesterdays Wilko order. Laptop on, auto-reply-email back from Wilko telling me they have received me email and intend to reply within 72 hours.

Stomach started churning up, so when I took me medications I had an extra Omeprazole and a swig of Sertraline.

Not too good this morning at the moment, but I still want to go to Derby on the bus and get a decent walk in, feed the ducks and take some photographs. I might see if they have any hot-cooked ham joints on the market there… well me stomach is telling not to though. Hehe!

Did some work on me graphics for me ‘Duncan comes to the rescue’ (Or whatever I decide to call it when it’s finally done) funny blog. Got it finished at last, I’ve been working on the graphics for weeks now, just hope it goes down well. Gorrit posted on WordPress.

Had a bath without any Whoopsiedangleplops.

Unfortunately I enjoyed it a little too long and missed me bus from the flats. Huh!

Hey-ho. I had a walk through Woodthorpe Grange Park onto Mansfield Road and over the hill to the bus-stop.

Not many folk on the bus this morning, seemed odd that. Took a photo.

Got into town and wandered down into town and called at the bank to get a £10 bag of 20p pieces for the laundry machines to gobble up later.

Out and to Friar Lane to catch the Y5 bus to Derby. One arrived as I got to the stop – and I was off on me within a minute.

Got a free Metro and read that en route through the villages.

There were more people on the Y5 than
were on the Sherwood bus.

As we went through Draycott a lot of houses and businesses had the flag flying ready for Remembrance day I assume.

That was encouraging given the current mood in the country.

I got a call on me mobile. It was the delivery courier driver for Wilko asking were I was? I told him I waited in yesterday all day for the agreed delivery – he said he called and pressed 76 on the keypad for ages and got no answer. I informed him the number was 72 (But felt a bit nervous in case I had given them the wrong number – oh dear!). He said he would call tomorrow morning once more nd try again. He was not a happy bunny!

I put the phone down and it rang again!

This time it was Steve from Age UK. He told me he’d had the house valued (£20k less than I’d hoped for) he added of course you might get less! I now need to meet with him and a representative from the Nottingham Building Society to sign some papers, pay for a solicitor, agree their £2k and a bit handling charge, and pay for something else I can’t remember what now. That’ll put me balance near bankruptcy I told him. He said they should not charge for all of it now, some will be taken off the top when the house is sold.

I’m getting confused now…

He said he will call to see me Friday afternoon (As usual on his way home and he can’t spare any time or do anything as he doesn’t work again until Monday Tsk!). Along with a building society representative.

I wrote own the timings on the Metro newspaper so I don’t get it wrong when i get back to the flat and record things on me Google calendar.

Got into Derby and I walked to the Derwent riverside, got me camera ready and fed some seeds and earthworms to the pigeons.

The many pigeons!

Then took a photo of the pigeons that had not landed for some nosh as they flew around in a gigantic circle above.

No idea why they did.

There sees to be more of them than ever today. How they find enough to eat and avoid the attacks from the seagulls I’ll never understand.

But I can’t help liking them – the pigeons not the seagulls.

Had a walk into the Eagle Marketplace. So sad at how many closed down stalls there were. Same in Nottingham and Mansfield as well.

Walked up and visited the hot meat shop to peruse what they had on offer.

It was all crap I’m afraid, the joints were dried out and unattractive to look at. So I didn’t bother getting any like.

I wandered back down through the market and came across a new place selling menswear and hats – I noticed there were no prices on any of them. I was looking a one that I fancied that was similar to the one I got from Primark for £4 last month, but a better colour – a lady approached me to inform me they were reduced to £20 each today… £2o each! – I moved on.

To the bus station and caught a Red Arrow Express bus back to Nottingham – I was getting off the bus 35 minutes later, boy can them buses move!

Dropped off and walked to and through the Slab-square.

As I poddled round it the two rob-dog coffee shops opposite each other on two corners, Starbucks and Costa, you know the ones who get away without paying any tax that was on the radio bout it last month.

Despite not being so many folk around, yet they were both well filled with people who can afford £3 for a plastic cup of coffee.

I’m just glad I don’t like coffee.

I walked to L9 bus-stop and met with Norman, a tenant of the flat on the same floor as wot I am. A grand old chap, we had a natter and he told me about his first job as a van-lad in Carrington.

The bus arrived and were lifted back to the Woodthorpe Court.

The driver we assumed was a fan of stock car racing! We were thrown all over as he accelerated, jammed on the anchors with venom and went around the corner and bends with a-gusto!

Still, on the bright side, it stopped me falling asleep!

Got in and paid the porcelain a visit – passing the letters on the floor en-route. Bad news here, ‘Little Inchy’ was bleeding again. Did what I could to stop him, but only managed to slow it down.

Got the letters after cleaning missen up, one from the hospital with me INR level reading. Down to 1.8, not good that. I emailed the surgery to try and book in for a test next Monday, no reply yet.

That reminded me about putting the appointment wot I wrote on the Metro in me calendar – the Metro that I’d left on the bus!

The other letter was from the Nottingham Hospice Charity, about their Lucky Day Weekly Lottery. I’m thinking of doing this £1 lottery instead of the National Lottery now. It only has a top prize of £25,000 every 3 months, £2000 each week. But the cash I spend on it will do more good that on the big lottery methinks?

Did a bit of blogging, checked emails again.

Rang Jane to tell her I had to cancel me meeting with Pete for Thursday and explained why. They were both going out to a nosh so they didn’t have much time to natter.

Got me nosh ready.

Took me medications.

To the loo, and little Inchy bleeding yet again!

I must get to the GP again about this and get an appointment to see the GUM specialist when he’s iin Nottingham again.

Morrisons delivery tomorrow morning, Nottingham City Homes representative coming to talk to me – about what I know not? And hopefully the Wilko order should be coming for a third time…

So another day stuck inside.

Friday the same, got to wait in for the Nottingham Building Society bloke/woman to call see me, and Steve Age UK coming too.

I’ll be in a right pickle if I get the GUM appointment for either of these days… Huh!

Got me head down early and was soon off to the land of nod for a change.

Inchcock Today – Tue 13 Oct 15: Housebound thanks to Wilko – Must remember to thank em!

Tuesday 13th October 2015

Up at 0415 – straight to the porcelain – usual bleeding front the and rear. Cleaned missen up.

Kettle on for a cuppa, took me medications.

Today being the day for me Wilko order to arrive at the flats – and that’s all it is guaranteed to do – as the lady who I spoke with from Wilko said it will be up to the courier driver whether he/she will take the goods upstairs for me or not, as apparently they do no have insurance cover for using the lifts?

I emailed Deana Walker the Obergruppenfurher for the flats with a request that the caretaker might keep an eye out for the delivery and assist me getting me stuff up to the flat in the event that the driver is unwilling to.

Got an interesting Automatic email in return:

It informed me that she is on holiday Monday 7th September returning to work on Monday 14th September?

It is October innit?

Confused now.

Twixt 12 > 1400hrs Asda should be delivering.’

So, as I don’t know the number for the shed so can’t ring them, I rang Deana’s mobile – no answer, no voice-mail. Assuming I rang the right number.

Can’t go out to ask anyone to pass on a message or go to the hut in case the delivery should arrive and they call me on the intercom?

In a building with 200 other residents and so alone at the same time. Hehe!

Ah well, I’ll get some graphics done then, oh, I’ll make another cuppa first.

Frustrating day and I’ve only been up for five hours…

Started doing some graphicalisationing.

Email in from Wilko, telling me that Night freight had despatched four parcels, and will update me further if needed?

Asda delivery arrived. Not much in it today, but got some seasoned fries I’m looking forward to later.

Had a Pot Noodle for nosh, added some Marmite to boost it a bit.

Tried to clean the draining board again, but it’s too scratched and not nice to look at. Tried the expensive Fairy Deep cleaner on it, no good.

No signs of the Wilko delivery yet.

Back to creating me graphics.

Got some done ready to use later when I get me Duncan post done.

Made a cuppa nd took me evening medications.

Getting hungry now, but don’t want to waste me food if I cook me chips and the Wilko delivery arrives. But will it? Getting on now, nearly 1700 hours… will it arrive… ♫ Dang dang dang dang! ♫

Well, gone 1800hrs and no Wilko delivery.

I’ve emailed enquiries at Wilko to inform them. Tsk!

Disappointed to say the least, a wasted day!

Got me chips and pork thingies in’t oven cooking.

Took medications.

This nosh was grand.

Rated it 9.2/10.

Head down and so disappointed with the Wilko Non-delivery

TTFN all.

Inchcock today Mon 12 Oct 15: INR tests, Laundry, sorting… busy again!

Monday 12th October 2015

Up at 0425hrs, WC made a cuppa, took medications – and realised that I’d taken me morning medications last night in error for the night medications – not sure what to do then. So I took just one Warfarin, one Simvastin and one dose of liquid ant-acid dollop.

I can ask the nurse later at me INR Warfarin level blood test if I’ve done right or wrong.

Got the washing ready and went down to the laundry room – but the machines were not working? Gave up and decided to struggle to carry the bag of togs with me to the GP and call at the launderette in Carrington and get it done there. Tsk!

Many WC visits later, I got the laptop on and finished off yesterdays diary putting about 12 photographs on it from yesterdays outing to Papplewick for the 1940’s show.

Little Inchy bleeding badly, haemorrhoids bleeding a bit.

Did some Facebooking.

Got missen washed and ready for me walk to the surgery. Took some nibbles and letters to drop off at the Windwood Community shed, if it’s open.

The plan to call at the shed failed, cause i met some residents at the bus-stop and had a natter with them, then caught the bus into Sherwood, and walked into Carrington.

The traffic was busy for so late in the day.

Plodded on to the surgery and booked myself in with the receptionist.

Did some cross-wording until I was called in by the surgery nurse. Lovely woman, I explained about me missing my dose and getting it wrong in taking my morning instead of night dose. she said always leave it if I miss a dose, in the event of y taking the wrong dose I should inform them. So I informed them. Gave her the nibbles for the staff.

Left and struggled down to the launderette with me bags.

On the way down a lady pavement cyclist was coasting at speed down the incline belting passed me, by the tie I’d put me bags down to get me camera out she was long gone in the distance – but I watched her as she went passed the florists shop grabbing a bunch of flowers out of one of those on display outside the shop and carried on into the distance without a care!

Into the paper shop to get lottery tickets – in a desperate foolish pathetic attempt to become popular, well liked and desired by the opposite sex. Sure as hell the only way that will happen is if I win a dirty-great big multimillion vast fortune? Hehe!

Into the launderette to be greeted by Wilhelmina, gave her some nibbles and got the machine going, then nipped into Lidl. Got two cheese cobs, pork pie and two lemon yoghurt pots.

Back to the launderette and swapped me clothes into the drier and set about me crossword book again.

Said me cheerios to Wilhelmina and struggled with me now three bags to the bus stop.

Dropped off at the City Hospital and into the GUM Clinic – I was out again in five minutes having been informed by the nice Obergruppenfurher on reception that my appointment is for next Monday… I did feel a fool!

Out and onto the bus back to Sherwood, where I met a few of the Woodthorpe Court resident inmates at the bus stop. I loved it when we had a natter and I listened to the banter between them – I thought to myself this is great seeing these old folk full of wit and humour poddling along and so content sounding… then of course I realised – I was one of them! Hehe!

Even the bus driver when she came, was cheerful and gossipy with us all.

For a moment life seemed good.

Got back to the flats and humped the bags up to the flat, while wondering if i’d make it to the porcelain in time… just, I mean just in time I made it. Unfortunately ‘Little Inchy’ was bleeding again – so spent yonks getting him to stop.

Then realised I should have asked at the GUM clinic for some more of the Betamethasone corticosteroid cream! Huh & Tsk!

I moved gingerly into the kitchen: Hello I thought, more meat flies lurking around the window again! Gawd they were fat ones again, when I got some with me paper towels they burst and the blood from them squirted out for feet not inches all over the place! I still reckon that someone in one of the adjacent flats might have snuffed it and no one knows, and the flies are having a feast? There are so many holes in the walls that must surely link with other flats that they are travelling between flats perhaps? I’ve noticed that usually these fat flies appear in the afternoon, there are usually between 4 to 10 of them… at least its a comfort to know that should I flake out in the flat, the relatives of all those fat flies I’ve killed an get revenge and suck up me blood… mind you, with all the medications in me blood, mutant flies might develop with bald heads? Hehehe!

This scenario tickled me so much, I made a graphic of it.

Put me washing in the airing cupboard and resorted it.

Then put the food away, kettle on, then back to the porcelain.

Laptop on and did some Facebooking, checked emails.

Utter weariness dawned suddenly and I got me nosh before I nodded off.

Too tired to bother cooking I had this little ad-hock concoction.

Pickled egg, beetroot, cheesy cobs, pork pie, apple, a banana and a tomato that was so bitter i couldn’t eat it, come think of it I reckon I only ate the apple, banana cobs and beetroot.

Didn’t enjoy it at all rated it 3/10, but I was so tired and drained suddenly.

Spent hours drifting off to kip for a few minutes then waking again. It was most disconcerting and annoying, y body demanded sleep and rest, but me mind wasn’t so keen on it?

Tomorrow the Asda and Wilko deliveries are due. But I anticipate problems with the Wilko one as they tell me it will be up to the delivery person if the go up the lifts or not!

Maybe that worry is what is keeping me annoyingly awake?

Humph!

Inchcock Today 11 Oct 15: Papplewick Pumping Station 1940’s Celebration Day

Sunday 11th October 2015

Up at 0345hrs, WC made a cuppa, started laptop.

Feeling so drained this morning.

After spending a good while searching for me wrist-band alarm thingamajig I found it on me wrist. Oh dear!

Posted yesterdays diary to WordPress then went on Facebook for a good while.

Did some graphicasionalisationing for later use.

Got missen washed and ready for me outing and BJ to arrive, all excited like an ankle-snapper! Hehe.

BJ rang, coming in ten minutes.

Went down to meet him and we were off and on the way to the station.

Very very busy this year. Heck of a job parking.

Met with BJ’s mate and locksmith Richard – a character he is, a good chap.

1940’s Cars lorries, ambulances, fire engines etc. galore.

Within five minutes I’d wandered off and lost BJ and Richard.

I must say I liked the correct uniforms many of the displayers were wearing.

The mock battle around the water lake was good as usual, but so any people attending and enjoying themselves meant I could not get near enough to take any photographs of the actual battle.

Tsk!

Many weapons on show and the exhibitors were willing to have a gossip and natter with us.

Wandered around to my hearts content nattering away.

The period music sang by performers to background music was really enjoyable and I spent a good while listening them. Mainly because i’d done so much walking and then sat down in a shady nook under some trees to harken to the singing and me knees froze and it was hell of a job to get up afterwards! Hehe!

The folk wearing their period gear having picnics was impressive as they listened to the songs of Al Bowlly etc. It cheered me up especially with everyone being sociable too.

The music session ended and as I sat there building up the nerve to test me mettle and moved me knees to get up -A couple walked through the area with a little puppy that I just fell in love with. It took me about 15 attempts to get a decent photo of the little rascal as he hardly ever stopped jumping running and chasing around, but I managed to get one in the end.

It was odd seeing Gestapo officers and American soldiers laughing together in uniform!

I’m going to make a photograph album of this visit to Papplewick and put all these and the other ones wot I took as well as and besides on me photo’s in it on me Facebook page.

I took a photo of the mini-railway train as it passed across in front of me as I was on me way to the steam-house.

I near the cafe was, but previous visits were enough to warn me of the ‘Cat-wassiness’ of their tea – possibly the worst weak watery tea I’ve ever bought – so no chance of me having a cuppa there! I did have a stand around and took some photographs there as well. Two chaps in genuine looking Wehrmacht Uniforms kindly posed for me get their images.

I spotted two Dachshunds with a bloke outside the cafe and wondered if they were a German breed?

I kept looking to see if BJ or Richard were around without any luck as I wandered merrily around.

I went to have a look in the pump-house but it was so crammed with visitors I gave up and hobbled back out. No problem though, I can visit the pump-house any time of year.

Eventually I got too weary and returned to the bench in the croft and had a go at me crossword book while I listened to some records of old music being played.

That was when BJ fund me.

He told me he’s lost Richard as well and had just found him, and Richard spotted me and it was time to get going!

We got back to the reception Cottage and I paid me yearly subscription. Took a photo of a beautiful pink Rose on the way out. Rather displeased with it I were, not very sharp at all. Huh!

As BJ drove me home, we were passed by the MG Sports car that Richard had fell in love with.

It was in great condition.

BJ dropped me off at the flats, thanked him and made me way to the porcelain awaiting my attentions…

Me knees were giving me some gip, but I was glad that I had not suffered any dizzy-spells today.

As I put the kettle on the sky view from the kitchen window suddenly became red tinted.

A weariness of great magnitude overcame me.

I decided not to bother making any nosh, just too tired. So I made a pot of the special offer Noodle Pot – had that and some crisps afterwards and started nodding straight away – but for some reason it still took me ages to get off to sleep proper like.

Inchcock Today Sat 10 Oct 15: Duncan’s Visitation today!

Saturday 10th October 2015

Up at 0415hrs, WC. Immediate thoughts of the Wilko Whoopsiedangleplop yesterday permeated the pain from the duodenal ulcer, no doubt kicked-off by the hassle with Wilko?

Then found haemorrhoids and Little Inchy both bleeding – not feeling so bright, then remembered Duncan (Robertson) is visiting me today and cheered up no-end. Looking forward to hearing his tales about seeing his latest ankle-snapper grandchild.

Made a cuppa and took me medications along with a dollop of the ineffective medicine for the ulcer.

Started laptop and finished yesterdays diary then started this one. Coreldraw to create the header, rather pleased with the header for this one.

Came cross this photo from last years Papplewick pumping Station 1940’s Celebration do.

Tomorrow is this years, BJ said he’s take me with him, looking forward to that and hoping the ulcer will not ruin the day-out for me too much.

Did some Facebooking then got missen washed and brushed up a bit.

Duncan arrived met him in the car park. So nice to see him again.

A cuppa and a jolly good chin-wagging later, then he had a go at sorting out the remote-control on the TV for me. He joined a famous group of failed remote-control sorter outerers: BJ, Steve from Age UK, Caretaker Robert and myself being the sole members.

He sent some photographs from his ipad Google thingy and sent them to me email. This one above is of two of his dogs Susie and Spice when they were about 4 months old. Then he shown me some clips of them with Rab, his older terrier, who is just resigning himself to the newcomers in the family.

Rab’s expression says a lot to me: “Flipping ankle-snappers!”

Hehehe!

Susie and Spice are sisters.

Duncan then set about helping me to master my new pet ‘Hoover’!

He found out how to increase decrease the power, empty the containers and we tried out the three connectors, flat floor, carpet and pets.

The pets on, though narrow, it amazing at getting the carpet cleaned.

Dunc took some photos of your truly so I could doctor and use them later.

Further gossiping and nattering ensued and he showed me some more photographs it was soon time for Dunc to hit the road back to Birmingham.

I really enjoy Dunc’s visitations.

Sorry to see him go, but he had cheered me up no end bless his cotton socks.

Saw him off and thanked him for his visit.

Bit low now he’s gone. Back to the flat WC’d and I got the kettle and laptop on to update this diary.

Earlier Dunc nipped to the porcelain and caught me having a senior-moment when he returned to find I’d nodded off again – Tsk!

He told me I could use this photograph to demonstrate me dynamic personality like!

Caught me good he did!

I think he just might possibly have said that comment a bit tongue-in-cheek like?

Got me nosh started, Rostis, beetroot, baked beans, mushroom-pate, roasted red potato slices some bread thins, tomatoes and Lemon Swiss roll!

Very nice too!

Rated this one 9.4/10.

Gobbled it up and did some Facebooking afterwards.

Called BJ to ask what time he’s be arriving in the morning so as to be down to meet him, no reply.

Put TV on to watch Keeping up appearances, nodded off…

Inchcock Today: Fri 9 Oct 15 – Memory Test Today – Steve coming from Age UK – Wilko Whoopsiedangleplop!

Friday 9th October 2015

Up at 0455hrs. WC’d – Little Inchy bleeding badly, took ages to get it to stop this morning. Bloodied me new pyjama bottoms too – Huh!

Cuppa and took me medications and finished yesterdays diary and started this one off.

Falling off to sleep last night I didn’t post me nosh. So here it is: A salad of such a size I could only eat part of it – definitely a case of me eyes being bigger than me stomach! Hehe!

Red peppers, mushrooms in oil, pork pat’e, pork & pickle pies, pickled egg, mixed leaves, beetroot, bacon…

The large slice of the lemon curd Swiss roll got eaten though. Rated this dollop as 9.2/10.

Checked me emails and replied to em.

Got me Memory test today at noon at the GP surgery.

Steve from Age UK calling later to tell me about how things went with the £850 house clearance man, and the next stage in getting the old house sold. It seems to me I was young and had hair when Steve first told me: “No problem, we’ll soon have this house sold!” Almost 6 months have passed since he uttered those first encouraging words to me… Gobbleblottingcrap!

Still, he’s a nice laid-back bloke. Gave him a tin of Cadburys Celebration chocolates for Christmas yesterday… thought it might encourage him to get a move on…?

I get visions of his chasing after the hearse with me in it on the way to the cremated, shouting out “It’s sold… the house has gone…” Hehe, might as well laugh it’ll probably happen!

One of the new can openers fell to pieces as I was opening a tin of beans to marinate wiv me special seasonings. Gave up.

That’s the forth one since I’ve been here in this flat! No wonder I buy two at a time!

I seem to remember as a kid using one like this one in the photo. And it lasted for donkeys years!

I’m moaning again ain’t I?… Tsk!

Had a bath and shave and set off on me walk to the doctor’s surgery.

At the end of Chestnut walk as I turned right down Winchester Street. I couldn’t help but notice the beauty of the trees changing colour and took a photo of one. Absolutely beautiful!

Towards the bottom of the road was something, looked like paint to me, had decorated it and the vehicles had made the spillage whatever it was into Art-Deco street art!

It doesn’t show up well on the first photo I took of it.

At the junction a klaxon-blaring paramedic car went through towards the City Centre and I noticed whatever it was got sprayed by the tyres as the emergency vehicle belted passed.

When the traffic eased when the lights changed I took another photo.

It looked to me like a vehicle turning right had spilt the stuff when it was hit from behind.

I plodded on up the hill to the Sherringham Park practice.

Got in and booked missen in, checked with the receptionist about the time of me INR blood test on Monday are, and when me next monthly prescriptions will be ready.

The nurse called me in for the Memory Test.

She asked me what day it was, what the date was, then told me name address and colour to remember. Asked me to name the months backwards, then asked me what the name address and colour. I got the town wrong.

She left the room and returned, said they were going to send me to see some people for further tests, one at the City Hospital, one at the Queens and i was not to worry about seeing… not sure if she said Psychologist or Psychiatrist now.

she was her usual friendly self and said she was certain that when I got rid of the house worries and it was sold and done with, things would improve for me on their (Or should that be there?) own.

I gave her some nibbles and shot off to get the bus into town, to try to get some coasters that would fit under the chair legs to stop the carpet getting misshapen and torn.

Got in town and boy it was busy!

Went in Wilkinson’s store and asked a member of staff if they sold owt that would protect me carpet from the wooden chair legs.

The young man walked me (I struggled to keep up with me though) to the shelves where they were.

I pondered over them and bought some I thought might do the job. Glides they were called. Also got some Velcro-squares that could be useful, and some stick on little clear hooks to hang me stuff on the wall in the kitchen. Good job Duncan is visiting me tomorrow to help out bless him.

Had a walk around town for a while and the place was even busier than it was when I arrived.

Walked to the bus-stop and waited for the L9 bus to arrive.

There was a carer with a chap in the queue and the poor man was looking a tad threatening as he kept leering at folk who passed and was leaning in their direction. But it was obvious he was in some way handicapped. I said Good morning to him and he tried his best to hold a conversation. I think the carer was surprised when I tried to speak with the chap and I purposely did a lot of smiled in his direction. Poor bloke.

I said Cheerio to the man when they got off the bus, and the smile on his face made me feel so proud. Bet I meet him again… I hope.

Struggled to stay awake on the bus again.

Got back to the flat and put down the times of the appointments on e Google diary while I thought about it.

The gliders were too large for the chair legs and keep coming of each time I move or adjust the chair! Tsk! I tried me bestest.

I ordered some stuff from Wilko on the net, hopefully the last I’ll need. Spent another fortune. I paid for a Premier delivery not knowing what this was. When I got the email confirming the order, but didn’t know still when the order would be delivered as it said: Premier delivery the next working day! Was the next working day a Saturday or Monday? Bad news if it’s a Monday cause I’ve got two medical appointment then. oh dear!

Moments before it all collapsed! Tsk!

Steve from Age UK arrived. He tackled the problem with the delivery an sent then an email.

The told me the house was now all cleared. Told me next week he will talk to the building society about getting the house on the market.

Still going at a snail’s pace to me – but he thought we’d done well getting this far? Nice chap, good bloke Steve really.

He looked at the temporary curtaining I’d put up – and it collapsed! Ah well, it gave him a laugh. Hehe! He then good-naturedly let me take his photo and posed for it like King Neptune!

He also took some photo’s of me that I could doctor and use later on the web bless his cotton socks.

He then had a look at and worked how me Hoover works for me. At last I can use it! Hooray!

After Steve had left – I got an email from Wilko – All it did as confirm they had received it and it would be studied and read with 72 hours! Gordon Bennett I still don’t know when the delivery is coming now! Shit!

He also looked at the TV remote to work out why I kept getting blank screens and the set jumps into different modes – he gave up as well, just like I did.

Got me nosh made for later – and further Whoopsiedangleplops on the Wilko order developed…

A lady rang to tell me they were delivering on Monday – I struggled to get all she as saying at first but I asked her to speak slower and it all then okay. She changed the delivery day to Tuesday between 0800 > 1800hrs. I explained about the need for them to press 72 on the panel in the reception for me to let them in, and using the lift to the 12th floor… where she stopped me to check on the insurance for the deliver couriers and see if they can come up 12 floors? Good this innit? Keep up… Then she returned to tell me it is up to the couriers if he delivers up the lift or not – if I come down to meet him, he can tell me if he’s prepared to go up the lift or not!!!!

So, after doing the order, and 30 minutes on the phone with the nice lady, my effort to spend £100 plus £8 delivery charge with Wilko, it seems I have to wait 4 days to find out if I’m actually going to get the delivery or not… Amazing!

I will not either way be tempted to spend any-more with them I can assure you! That’s if I manage to this time of course!

Pissed off nicely I had me nosh and felt rather down.

Huh & Tsk!

Inchcock Today Thu 8 Oct 15: Cleaning and polishing, Dizzies and drained

Thursday 8th October 2015

Up at 0605hrs, late getting off last night, well, this morning.

WC’d then made a cuppa, laptop on, medications taken – ‘Little Inchy’ bleeding.

Made list of things to try to get help with from Steve from Age UK when he calls.

Emailed appointment to the doctors for next Monday at 1020hrs for me INR Warfarin blood level test.

That reminded me, I must not forget me Memory Test tomorrow at noon… oh dear…

Graphic finished for the TFZ site. hope they like it.

It’s me and Pat Melsted-Chabot wiv some animals in toe. The pussy cat in it was who Pat lost when he disappeared. I thought it a nice tribute to put her in it. As I say, I hope she likes it and is not upset.

Checked emails incoming.

Made another cuppa, WC visit again and a feeling of semi dizziness lingered, no actual bad attacks like yesterday yet, a sense of partial mistiness… Not a good description that, light headedness perhaps?

Laptop off and got the thing ready to clean the bathroom.

Nasty open pipework that flakes and seems to gather dust at the back were a sod to get cleaned. I must, soon as the old place is sold get someone to do something about this. Panelling or summat that is easy to clean and remove?

The big job tackled next – the kitchen.

Started with doing the windows. Devils own job as usual trying to get the damned window to turn around so I could clean the outside from inside if yer know worra mean like?

I got it turned eventually.

But that bugger of a switch mechanism on the right twixt the window and the alcove that allows only two inches of space for you to grab twist and hold it out damaged/squashed me thumb again. Tsk!

Used Dettol cleaner and window cleaner afterwards and managed to get it looking a bit better outside, still got the odd streak or two.

Turned it back closed and did the little window at the bottom then the main one and the paintwork.

Then, Arthur Itis started playing me up Huh!

The chips in the glass outside still annoying me though.

Set about doing the floor in the old-fashioned style – on me knees with a bowl of soapy water and rinsing and drying it off with kitchen towels in little patches as I moved backwards.

Getting up on me feet again afterwards was a bit of a painful kerfuffle I can tell yer. Huh!

Did the sink/draining board, cabinets, fridge, counters, cooker and paintwork after the floor had dried – not too bad a job compared to last time I did it.

Had a  cuppa and took me midday medications then forced missen to get the bag ready for the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop.

I rang Steve from Age UK, but no answer.

It was heavy, and I needed to take another bag with me brolly, bird seed, nibbles etc with me.

Set off on a walk through Woodthorpe Park down into Sherwood. On the path down t Mansfield Road I spied two ladies with their dogs having a walk, and boy were those dogs having a ball. It made me wish I could have a dog and especially one like these two, so happy and tail-wagging at turbo speed. Bless em.

Down to the Hospice charity shop and handed them the donations. I bought a book while I was there, another J Clarkson one. Much as he annoys me at time I like his writing, crude, witty and bold. Another £3 spent I need not have… Tsk!

Back up to the Co-op store to spend £10 so I could use me £1.50 off voucher. Got amongst other bits some Cornish Clotted Cream raspberry ripple ice-cream. There seems to be no end to my spending recklessly! Got some salad stuff for nosh tonight.

To the bus-stop cause an L9 bus was due and I had me free pensioners bus-pass with me and was feeling a bit worn now after all that cleaning and walking.

I met the gal tenant from number 82 on the same floor as me at the shelter.

Had a good natter and gave her some nibbles. Caught the bus with her back to the flats.

Invited her in and gave her a tin of chocolates for her finding me hearing-aid and always talking to me when she met me.

Steve Age UK rang, he’s on his way to collect the dosh to pay the house clearers, he’ll be here in half an hour or so.

Laptop on and caught up with this diary.

Got me notes for Steve and the money ready for him.

It started to look a bit dark and rain threatening, and it had definitely had got colder than it was earlier.

Took a photo from the kitchen window of the threatening sky. The clean kitchen window I might add! Haha!

Fatigued now.

I sat and the last bits of any energy drained away.

Hey-ho…

Inchcock Today Wed 7 Oct 15: Wet in more than one way today…

Wednesday 7th October 2015

Up at 0405hrs, WC. Not feeling too bright this morning.

Haemmorhoids bleeding badly, dizzies early, Little Inchy sore and bleeding. Anne Gyna giving me a bit of grief.

On the brighter side the Reflux valve is a lot easier, and Arthur Itis not too bad at all in the legs or feet and only some twinging and stiffening in me hands as yet.

Recalled bits of a dream: Ladies in a big room, lots of ladies, all ignoring me as I ran around sticking labels with ‘Best before’ dates on the arms? I found myself in an office filled with purple coloured furniture, curtains and wallpaper, I knew this despite the dream being in mono? I was laying out desks and chairs and putting a pencil, spoon and an aubergine on each desk…

Made a cuppa and took me medications.

Got me togs ready for the laundering session and went down to the laundry room. Met a Scottish lady from the first floor and had a chin-wag when he came in to start her laundering session.

Got the washer going and back to the flat. Had a cuppa and started this diary, then back down to take the washing from the machine to the drier.

Met the Scottish gal again.

Got the drier going and then back to the flat again.

Updated this again. Then back down to collect me washing from the dryer.

Brought the washing back up and ensconced it snugly in the airing-cupboard.

Made a cuppa.

Updated this diary, then finished off yesterdays diary and got it posted off to the web.

Morrison’s came and went, put the stuff away then got ready to go out to an Aldi store, to see if they have any Frikadellens on sale for me to try, so I can compare them to the Lidl ones I had for nosh last night.

I really did enjoy them – and a write up about them on the web says how healthy they are compared to burgers and sausages too!

Called at the hut on the way out, no one there so left some nibbles for them.

Caught the L9 bus, after an entertaining gossip with some of the other residents of the Stalag… no flats.

Took a photo for the bus window as we turned into and down Gordon Hill.

Got into town and I walked in the drizzling rain to the Aldi store. They had some Frikadellens in, but they were smaller and lighter than the Lidl ones, so I didn’t get any.

Walked over the road and through the Victoria Centre.

The rain coming heavier now and the wind got up.

Hobbled down into the slab-square in the City Centre.

There were some stalls there again, but with the rain they belting down not many people were inclined to stop and buy owt!

I popped into Primark and bought yet another cap, another waxed one and put it on in an effort to avoid getting too wet on me way home.

Made me way passed the Chilwell and Beeston bus stops to Queen Street and waited for the L9 bus to get me back to the flats and out of the rain and wind.

Had a dizzy-spell at the bus-stop. Must remember I thought, to take me BP when I get back home. (Nice work that, home).

Took a photo from me seat on the bus, of all the buses surrounding the bus… Hehe!

No signs of falling asleep on the journey back to the Woodthorpe flats either today!

Rare that recently!

Got in the door and made hurriedly for the porcelain.

Did some spontaneous sorting out on the clothes racks, but got it all wrong and gave up when another dizzy-spell appeared.

That reminded me to take me reading so  did:

Sys: 88 Dia: 64 Pulse 74: Temp: 31°. I’ll ask the nurse when I go on Friday if these look okay, I forgot to ask her to look at me readings last time I went. Well fancy that Tsk!

The rain was still persisting down.

Decided to get me nosh early in case the dizzies persisted.

Had the easiest to make, but some Rosti potatoes in’t oven to have with some bread, made two sweet loin sandwiches and some beetroots, followed by a pot of mandarin yoghurt.

Laptop on updating while the Rostis warmed through.

Got the mobile in me hand to call Steve from Age UK and he called me!

He’s calling for the £840 for the house clearance man tomorrow – that is providing he had got it done by then – so with luck, once I pay-up we can start getting the house on the market. Good job I had professional help from Steve in getting somewhere to live and the old place on the market – it’s only took him 4 months to get this far. Tsk! (Now now Gerry, no bitterness please! Hehe!)

Made sure the money was still there and I’d not forgotten where I put it like.

Not feeling very bright again now.

Had me nosh, Rated it another 9/10, and fell asleep.

Woke an hour or so later and ran a bath, which I enjoyed apart from clouting me ankle when I was getting out.

Then made a cuppa and took me medications and updated this twaddle.

Nice view from the kitchen window tonight.

TTFN all.

Inchcock Today Tue 6 Oct 15: Confused

Tuesday 6th October 2015

Up at 1205hrs… well I fell asleep early last night. Tsk!

WC’d and made a cuppa – realised I’d missed me medications last night, so took just one Trental blood release and one Warfarin tablet otherwise they might get a false reading at me INR blood level test later this morning.

Laptop on and pottered doctoring some earlier graphic attempts for a while, checked emails, Facebooked a bit, then to the WC again!

Checked me appointment time on the Google calendar, 0930hrs, so must set off in plenty of time as the first bus here is not until 0930hrs, and of course that is the time we pensioners can use our wonderful free bus-passes.

No bath either now, cause the noise of the running water will disturb me neighbours in the nearby flats (Apartments). A stand up wash and shave later will have to do.

The time flew by and it was soon time for me morning medications.

I did another search for the missing for three weeks now first time used saucepan lid.

I’m dumbfounded as to where this might have gone too?

Might get a new saucepan and lid today after going to the surgery? It’s possibly the only way I’ll then find the missing one? Hehe

I thought about how people coped during the war years after I read an article about alien-women being moved at the start of the war:

Women classed as enemy aliens being escorted by police and officials to board trains at a London station, at the start of their journey for internment on the Isle of Man early in the Second World War.

Apparently the locals on the island had less food than the internees?

Scattered showers forecast for today, better take me brolly with me when I go out.

Remembered to do me health checks (Novel that for me!) Sys 140 Dia 68 pulse 68 Temp 36. I’ll ask the nurse if this is about right today, looks okay to me.

Finished and posted a Funny Caption Competition on the TFZ site.

This is Sandra Lentz, a notoriously avid Funnel Cake lover…

My caption was “Go on try it… Make my day!”

I put me Morrison’s order in.

Had me wash and shave, then got the bags ready to throw down the waste chute on me way out.

Called at the  Winwood Community shed in me way.

Chin-wag with Deana and Julie, gave em some nibbles.

Then walked into down into Sherwood in the light-drizzling rain.

The sun doing its best to come out.

The traffic was building a bit in Sherwood.

As I got towards the top of the hill it got a bit heavier – the bus lane being in use didn’t help.

Over the brow and down to the Gp surgery and booked myself in with the receptionist…

Only to find I’d got it wrong Again. I was certain the time of the INR Warfarin blood tests was 0900hrs – she informed me it was for 0945hrs – Tsk!

And I’d not got me crossword book with me either.

The nurse kindly saw me earlier though bless her.

Off and poddled down to the launderette and had a natter with BJ. He’s going to pick me up Sunday and take me to the Papplewick Pumping Station 1940’s do. Thanked him and went to Lidl to get some nosh.

Got some Pork Frikadellens, seafood sticks, porridge pots, a white bloomer, a Lemon Swiss roll and some canned kippers in tomato sauce with vegetables, another tenner gone.

Caught the bus back into Sherwood.

Went in Wilkos in search of a cheapo saucepan with a lid and another can-opener, got em both alright, and a carpet cleaner spray all for under £9.

Poddled over the hill and up through Woodthorpe Park.

Had a sit on one of the benches for a while hoping to catch some wildlife to photo without any luck.

On up the path and down the crumbling path to the flats.

I took some photographs at the bottom near the flats of a squirrel, but he wouldn’t stay still long enough for me to get a decent one.

Into the flat and WC’d urgently.

Put me purchases away and got the kettle on.

Laptop on and filled in the Wilko customer thingy – I might win £100 they tell me… yea!

Got seasoned baked beans on the pan warming slowly, and the oven on and the Frikadellens in the oven.

Rang Pete and Jane, they are too busy this week for a meeting.

Got me nosh ready.

Lovely nosh it were… but I made too much of it.

Gave it a 9/10 though, I put some black bean sauce in with the baked beans and other seasoning and it tasty super!

For some reason it ages for me to nod-off. Tsk!
