0420hrs: No idea at all what the dreams were about, just knew I’d had them.
Awakened to get out of the £300 second-hand recliner and felt the warm wet sensation from the lower regions, saw the blood and made my way to the porcelain thrown. Titivated things up, clothes into a bucket soaking, and plonked me mass back on the throne for a while in a deep nonconforming medley of horrible thoughts and self-recrimination. No answers, no conclusions, I cleaned the room up and went to the kitchen to make a mug of tea and take the medications. I was going to do the Health Checks, but my moroseness made me forget to do them.
Opened the window and made a brew, took the medications and lost myself again in pointless, futile thoughts of improving things in my tumultuous mind.
Put away the flat clothes airer from yesterday, and out the towel on the bendy one in the hallway.
Got the computer on to finish yesterday’s post, very hard to find the words. Started this one off, and remembered to do the Health Checks. So I did.
Made another mug of tea and did some WordPress reading for an hour or two, then posted yesterday’s diary off.
No interest in going out at all seems like I’m content to hibernate… Got to shake this off before Monday when I go for the INR blood test. Good job I’ve opened the windows and used the air spray. Hehe!
Went on Facebook.
Did a graphic for the TFZer gals, with Thomas flying across the room. Hope they like it.
Duodenal Donald has started giving me a lot of pain. Took a painkiller and a swig of antacid – but they are not working yet. Made another mug of tea and started a complicated graphic that will take ages from scratch, in the hopes of entertaining and be making people smile and perhaps just as importantly, try to replace the feeling of recrimination that is so heavy, for a while at least.
Facebook froze on me, had to restart.
Several hours later I’d got them done.
Still feeling so down with myself, Duodenal Donald and Anne Gyna playing up and hard to concentrate properly.
Had a look at YouTube for a while, in between drinking tea.
1322hrs: Got a call from someone, couldn’t understand all that they said but wanted me to test the wrist alarm, cause they had a fault come through to their end. I did. All okay.
Feeling so down now, can’t concentrate on anything, Stomach churning, Anne Gyna and Duodenal Donald getting hard to bear. I sent off an email to the surgery to ask for an appointment.
Got a reply withing ten minutes. The first one available is on Thursday 27th April at 0850hrs. Put in on the calendar. Long time to wait, but still, With a Dr De Selver, as Dr Vindla is still off. (Seven weeks now, hope she is alright.)
Threw myself into cleaning up… well a bit anyway, cause the pain was too much, so I settled in the chair and prayed for sleep, but of course, the rambling worried, guilty mind would not let me.
Tried to concentrate on graphicationalisationing again. Gave up.
Took the evening medications and a bit of Facebooking and communicationalisationing with Lynton Cox, bless is cotton socks.
Got the fodder sorted.I did add a few chestnuts after taking the picture, though.
I did add a few chestnuts after taking the picture, though.
Just feeling so depressed and in such pain, I was not hungry much.
Did the last of the today’s BP, pulse, temp Health Checks.
The temp and pulse were a little bit up?
Don’t think anything here to worry about, I’m doing enough of that over the joke cock-up.
Stirred at 0255hrs, Duodenal Donald giving me a lot of hassle and pain this morning.
I think I have only myself to blame perhaps; The overly seasoned beef in black bean sauce dinner from last night? As lovely as it tasted,
As beautiful as it tasted, I will resist this temptation in the future!
Out of the £300 second-hand-surely ready-to-clonk-out recliner and to the throne. The Senna taking seems to have eased things at last. I almost sang with joy at the lack of struggle and pain. Hehe! Little Inchy had been flowing a bit and needed corrective attention from the Betamethasone cream and cleaning up. But I could tell from experience, I was to suffer badly with both Duodenal Donald and Anne Gyna – when this happens together, concentration goes on holiday. Remembered I need to go to the bank to investigate the farce over the transfer of account situation. Maybe today, Lisa the manager will actually talk to me?
Found a scribbled note presumably about a dream – but could make no sense of it at all and had no memories, although I could recall one I had early last night, the one I wrote about in yesterday’s post, that was completed as my next job. The readable bits of the pencil written script was: Hill high…. stethoscope (I think), canal… towering above… flying swooping?
0445hrs: Computer activated after finishing Monday’s off, I started this one. Did some photography doctoring to use later. Then the internet connection started going off intermittently. I wished that Duodenal Donald, who was becoming very active and persistent would do the same.
Into the kitchen to take the medications and an extra few swigs of antacid in possibly a vain hope of easing the ulcer pain. Then did the Health Checks:
Sys 162 – Dia 76 – Pulse 75 – Temp 38.7 – the weighing indicated another rise.
Oh dearie me!
Had to take another swig of the antacid medicine and pondered on whether I should risk taking an extra Omeprazole, as the medicine was cutting it with the pain.
I stood looking out of the window seeking inspiration in making my choice. Later I used the W-T option and tried to take a view of the same area, this is how the photos came out:
I think I read somewhere that Omeprazole had a side effect of diarrhoea? With things loosening up so much in that department this morning, I found myself in a quandary. If I do take an extra capsule it night prove a nocive decision, it I don’t take one, I’ll be in too much pain all day with the other ailments
If I do take an extra capsule it night prove a nocive decision, if I don’t take one, I’ll be in too much pain all day with the other ailments (Anne Gyna and Roger Reflux)playing up as well. On the other hand, I might get the runs badly… then again, it might make no difference at all? Bumfuzzled my brain now!
Eventually, Duodenal Donald himself made it up for me, with a super-mega stab of pain, followed by a Donald Dizzy spell. I decided to take an extra one and another Codeine.
I decided to take an extra Omeprazole as well as and another Codeine. Just to keep himself noticed with all the ailments clambering for attention, Arthur Itis decided to have a go at the fingers as I took this photographicalisation and dropped the tablets. Luckily falling into the draw where I could retrieve them this time.
This is not going to be a good day medically speaking (I’m quick on picking these things up yer know, Hehehe).
The thought of the visit to the bank to talk to the elusive Lisa didn’t help in the clarity of logic department. Yes, I like that, I might refer to her like this: Elusive Lisa in future?
For I fear they might be more occasions to write about in this banking farce! (Getting myself wound up now, Tsk!)
Completed belatedly updating last week’s Check List.
Made another mug of tea, and pressed on with this update. The mind in a Zwodder-like state.
Did some WordPress Reading.
Then onto Facebook. Made a graphic of Pixie Mary Frieberg on the TFZer site, as she won the ball competition. I put her near the actual photograph of the implement on the table – a real Disney Angel.
Well all of them got it right actually, but Mary was first in with her bid, bless her cotton socks.
Got the ablutions tended to. Got the bank details, empty jars for the recycling bin and some painkillers in the bag. And set off to the bank and get some bread.
No one about at all, not a soul did I see in or outside the flats and Chestnut Grove… Eerie that.
Dropped the jars in the bin and down Winchester Street, across Mansfield Road and into the bank.
Fell in love with little daisies on the verge.
Inside the bank, there were about six in the standing queue, three staff serving including the Manageress Lisa. I patiently took my place at the end of it. And Lisa was still ignoring me with natural aplomb and what must be a well trained and practised, honed skill.
I had to explain everything from the start again to the young good looking fit man servicing me. Jealous? Me? He said something I didn’t catch and went into the back of the building. A few minutes later, with the customers in the queue behind me tutting and sneering in my direction, he returned and told me an advisor needs to talk to me.
Hello, I thought to myself! I was instructed to stand at the back, and she would come and fetch me. So I did.
The lady appeared within seconds and escorted me into an office and asked me to sit down – I explained it was better if I didn’t, Arthur Itis playing up, and she professionally shot me look that said: “Huh, another old fart!” It was quick, but I caught it alright. Hehe!
She explained that the Co-op had put a block on the transfer because it had taken so long. I asked her who’s fault is it that it took so long – I got another shudderingly frightening look from her, this one said: “Who the hell do you think you are!” to me. I got in with my rapid verbals: “Your bank failing to check the postcode on the I.D. from the State Pension people who I admit were also in the wrong?” I suggested before she could speak.
A pregnant pause followed. The lady recovered. Ignoring what I had said completely, told me she would ring her head office for advice on whether or not we need to start from scratch again. I was gobsmacked, especially when they told her that we did have to!
I started to make notes so as to be able to use them in this diary. She frowned and asked me if I wanted her to make notes for me? Not sure if this was genuine or sarcastic, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. She lightened her tone and asked why I was making notes – I replied something like: “The memory isn’t as good as it once was you know – paused with my mouth open and added – I want to get the details right for my Trust Pilot Report” and offered a half cheeky smile. That worked, I could see she was perplexed by this.
I wondered to myself why I was being so short and annoying, not like me at all, thought it might be the extra pains today, took a codeine out and ate it, determined to try and win back her good side, in case I needed a loan later. So I adopted a broad smile and almost laughed, and this confused the Hitlerarian dear even more. Tsk! She wasn’t Hitlerarian at all, but I just like using the word. Hahaha! Sorry.
She set about redoing the application using the details and checking them with me from the first time. Asking me if the account at the other bank was overdrawn? I impressed her when I competently fibbed: “God heavens no, I’ve over a hundred grand in it!
I must stop annoying her and get her going I swore to myself again.
After a while on her computer, she told me that the account should be open and transferred 26th April, but don’t come to see us until the 27th. Then, as I was about to leave, she started the selling spiel: Come to see me after it is operational and I’ll see if we can offer insurances cheaper than the one’s you have now!
I exited into the sunshine and the wind then went to get a small loaf of bread and some meat to tonight,s meal. Sarnies only tonight, nothing spicy I said to myself.
No small loaves, only large, no belly pork so I got a Wiejska ring.
Walked up the hill, no bus for 55 minutes yet, so walked on up and down the hill and walked up the park back to the apartments.
A few dogs taking their owners for a walk and refusing to return the thrown ball.
I love watching them.
One Alsatian ran to me and stuck his head in my bag trying to get to the meat I suspect?
He was friendly enough and took his head out when I asked him to ‘Leave’. Haha!
Turning right at the top, I hobbled down through the beloved Copse. Thickening out well now.
The entrance was a mass of nettles blooming.
I wondered at this point, how does one make Nettle Wine?
I’ll look it up later perhaps.
Ambled down through the Copse and took a photograph facing the flats. It really was so beautiful in there.
It really was so beautiful in there. The smell alone makes it worth the trip.
Came out the bottom and trying to miss treading on the buttercups and daisies, I made my way to the foyer door.
Squirrels and birds very active around the area.
Up to home and had a wee-wee, but the bits away and made a cuppa.
Found a recipe for Nettle Wine.
Sounds too complicated for me to try, not got the room or gear anyway.
How do you measure nettle tops in pints, anyway?
Got the notes I made to help me update this diary.
Got up to here, and took the evening medication with spring water.
Made another mug of tea, then cleaned up the milk and fridge where I’d managed to drop the milk bottle when Arthur Itis decided to freeze the fingers on me. Humph!
At least Duodenal Donald had eased a bit. Mustn’t eat anything spicy tonight. Hope the Wiejska and bread will be alright. I could have had a drink of milk with it, but of course, I’d dropped and spilt most of it!
Had a bash on Facebook. Lost it. Got it back again. Lost it again… gave up and did some graphicationalisationing.
Got the din-dins done.
A salad of sorts. Went down nicely.
Had a Dennis Dizzy visitation when washing the pots.
To the porcelain throne thinking I was in need of a heavy duty session – but nothing, not even any wind? Well, there was plenty from Roger Reflux, but none from the rear-end. Hehe!
Tried to watch some TV, a Victoria Wood tribute and got only a few minutes into it before I drifted off.
Woke around 0400hrs, and lay thinking of the many dreams I’d had since the one about Rudolph Hess after midnight, without any luck, no details could be forced from my twisted and very confused this morning, brain. No note found, well, there was one, but I couldn’t read a word of the two lines I’d scribbled.
0445hrs: A headache lurked, and it was a cracker. I thought I might try to get off back to sleep, so I tried. I failed. I passed some wind and extracted myself from the £300 second-hand dangerously shuddering recliner, had a mini-dizzy as I hobbled to the porcelain throne, stubbing my toe on the way.
The heavy duty task at hand seem to make my headache worse? Little Inchy had bled a tiny bit, but Haemorrhoid Harold, having been in free-flow mood caused me to have to put the jammie bottoms in the bucket to soak. Humph!
Had a rinse and got the kettle on the boil.
Made a mug of strong tea and took the morning medications, along with an extra Codeine for the head and Senna for the stubborn heavy duty sessions.
Rubbed some of the pain gel into the left hand, the knees and under the arm.
Oil in the ears, made up next weeks medication pots and got the sphygmomanometer out and did the Health Checks.
Looks okay I think? Apart from the weight perhaps?
Many wee-wees had to be tended to this morning.
I suddenly had a thought (Impressive eh?). Are there any buses on duty tomorrow so I can get to the camera lesson, it being a holiday like?
I looked up the L9 service on the web. Botheration and damnation! A Sunday Service for all routes – which means no L9 buses at all! Another long hobble to face!
The tea had gone cold, so I made another mug and managed to drop the milk as I took it out of the fridge.
I blame Arthur Itis for this! Huh!
Did some WordPress reading. Some good stuff published today.
Went onto Facebook, fingers crossed… Slow, but working.
Emails sorted out. Tried again on the web to find out if buses are running tomorrow or not. Failed!
CorelDraw andittivated some graphics for the TFZer site;
Changing myself ready to get into the shower, I leant foolishly against the clothes air-dryer to keep my balance while stripping off the socks and it collapsed. Facilitating my ending up in an unseemly pile on the floor with my arm somehow threaded through the heating bars of the dryer. Disentangling myself was interesting. This started off Anne Gyna. The newly bent and misshaped heater seemed to be still working, though.Humph! I tried rebending some back into shape. I failed.
Decided to have the meal early today. Got the oven on and put the battered fishcakes in to warm up. Got the potatoes boiling away.
Watched a Carry-On film for a while on channel 10 Freeview.
Put the herbed tomato sauce in the pan and added the pasta thingies with mushrooms into it.
Laid it out with the Surimi fish whatsits and a banana and lemon yoghourt for afters.
Apart from the pasta things and sauce being overcooked, the potatoes undercooked, the fishcakes overcooked on too low heat, the banana having a black streak through it inside; the Lemon yoghourt was nice. Tsk!What a mess I made of this meal!
What a mess I made of this meal!
There were several Carry-On films on the same channel, and I tried to watch them, but only managed it with ‘Carry On Up the Khyber’. Nodding off sessions were rampant. Haha!
Wee-wee visits were made regularly throughout the day. Made me think about when I walk into town in the morning for the camera lesson. And will I get a bus back? I can’t walk both ways? The hobble will take about an hour and a quarter. Wee-wee containing might be a problem, I think.
Oligarch Obergruppenfureress Jenny called while I was on the porcelain throne before showering. Which normally I would not have heard, but I had to nip out to collect a fresh pair of protection undies and heard the mobile. She told me that there would be no need for anyone to change their address. I thanked her for informing me and avoided any forthcoming lectures and admonishments by telling the truth and told her I had to get back to the small room. I knew by mentioning my concerns over the renaming of the flats to any other tenant it would get back to her. She reminds me off Ena Sharples, caring but misunderstood. Bless her.
Now I have to face her on Wednesday next when the free fish & chip meal session takes place in Arnold. Or earlier if my cunning plans to avoid her fail.
Back into the wetroom and did the ablutions.
Back to the goggle-box and more Carry On films to fall asleep to.
Looking at the clock later, it seemed it was still only 1810hrs?
I realised an hour or so later when I again observed the clock and it was still indicating 1810hrs, that the battery had gone and died. (I’m quick ain’t I… Hehe!) Changed the battery in the clock and returned with a mug of orange juice to the £300 second-hand wobbly recliner and settled again. Spilling it as I sat down. Cleaned up the mess, and it was a good thing I had to as well.
As I went into the kitchen to get the cleaning accoutrements I saw that I’d left the ring on the stove burning hot. A bit of luck there! Took the medications.
Sorted the mess out and settled once again in the now sticky damp chair cover, I started to watch “It’ll be alright on the night 2” on the box. First commercial break and I drifted off into kip.
0404hrs: Woke, annoyed I could not recall the dreams, only that they were not nice.
Out of the nervous making rattling shuddering unstable £300 second-hand recliner. Kettle on. To the porcelain throne, painful and bloody passing again.
Made a mug of tea and took the morning medications.
Glad to see that I had left a note on the TV to remind me of the camera lesson at the Jessops store today.
Carried out the Health Checks, looking fine this time: Sys 145 – Dia 75 – Pulse 79 -Temperature 36.6 – Weight 14.8.
The computer activated and finalised yesterday’s diary and posted it.
Made a start on this one.
Did some Facebooking.
Got the ablutionisationing done and took the rubbish bags to the chute, and had time to update this a bit and do a little WordPressing before I had to go down to get the bus into town.
Jolly good chinwag with some of the other tenants in the lobby before we all tripped off to the bus stop.
I was the only one going on the town bus. Got the crossword book out, the Daily Sun one, which should have been easier for me to do, but the print is so small, thought I might have a look in the cheap book shop later to see if they any in bigger print in stock.
Got off the bus and walked over the road and went into Boot’s to see if they had any ear wax remover. This, because one hearing aid tube had perished. I was struggling to hear things and knew I had excessive wax, which I usually use the Olive oil to treat, but had foolishly missed doing so for a couple of days, and thought Boot’s remover would do the job quicker. Anway I thought, I’m going up to the Audio Centre after the camera lesson and can get new tubes and batteries. Then: Thud, it hit me! Another Whoopisedangleplop! I’d forgotten to take the Authorising Book with me – Gnaperplnkdam! So I could not get the things today!
Anyway, I investigated the supply and costs of the Eye Spray, thinking this might help with the difficulties I’m having reading the subtitles and programme details on the TV. The cheapest one was £18.99 for a 10ml spray. Too much! I did get an ear-wax remover though at £3.89.
Out of the Boot’s store and into Victoria Shopping (Mall) Centre and in the Market for a wander around, cause I had a plenty of time before the tutoring session.
Noted that they were erecting a nibbling for the juniors area.
Bet this is going to be mayhem later?
Hehehe!
Up the escalator and took this photo of the hanging in the air mannequins.
The market was not very busy again, but I espied some fresh pod peas on sale! Hurrah!
I asked the lady for a pound, and she asked if I was sure? Yes, I replied.
I realised what she meant when she asked me for £2.50! That’s, USD $3.20 – Aus $ 4.15 – Can $ 4.18 a pound! Blimus, worra price!
Limped out of the mall over the walkway above Upper Parliament Street taking this photographicalisation en route.
Down and into the Pound Shop and had a wander around.
Got some nibbles for the Social Hour on Thursday and some Dettol Orange scented spray.
The feet were getting painful, but I knew not why?
Meandered to the Jessop Camera Shop and eventually, an assistant asked what I wanted. Told her about the lesson and she said the man would be with me shortly, which he was. The bad news? The room was up three flights of stairs! The tootsies suffered, and Anne Gyna introduced herself into the equation. Tsk!
I must have looked poorly, because after five minutes the young chap asked if I was alright, and I wasn’t. He kindly offered to change the lesson to another day at no extra cost. Which was very welcome being as I apparently looked very pale he said, offering to call an ambulance. I thanked him and took him up on a new date when I should have the hearing aids sorted, and that would make things easier for me.
Within minutes of hobbling out of the store, I felt a lot better in myself. I wandered into a Sports Direct Shop, didn’t realise until I got in that it was for the younger generation, however, I did see they had some what they called, Everlast Crew Sweat thingamabobs on sale at 2 for £10.
They looked warm and comfortable, and they had them in XL too, so I invested in a couple.
It took that long at the pay-point I missed the bus back to the flats.as
So I took a painful hobble around the City Centre, to kill time until the next bus was due in.
On to Long Row, listened to some Street Artist banging out rubbish music and took the time to appreciate Nottingham’s most famous architect, Watson Fothergill.
I popped into the store in his building and bought a TV magazine for next week.
Fifteen minutes to go until the bus was due, I went into The Works bookshop and had a look around for some bigger print crossword books.
Managed to find some as well, and they were a good price… mind you the one’s I bought three months ago from there were too…
But can I find them? No!
Up Queen Street and to the bus stop. A bit of a kerfuffle here today. The bus stop is shared between three routes, and it is finely tuned to handle them all, so if anyone is late, they are all late because those behind cannot pull up to pick passengers and have to go around the block again. Although some drivers go passed them, not picking them up. Hehe! The L9 did today though he was well late by the time he pulled off. I am amazed at how they cope with it all.
Caught the bus, had to go out into the middle of the road along with other passengers, but we got it. Had a go at the old small print crosswords en route.
Back at the flats, an urgent, mark one, Defcon two wee-wee was tended to. Hahaha!
Got the potatoes boiling in the saucepan. Put the shirts and other things away and found the written note the Jessop’s lad had done for me with the date and time of the rearranged lesson on it… eventually. I thought it was in the bag, but no.
Finally, I found it in the coat pocket.
Recorded it in the Google Calendar.
Got this diary updated, made a mug of tea and took the evening medications, passed the wind and just made it to the porcelain throne in time… Phew! But far much worse was found… Little Inchy had been bleeding away, and the lesion was torn open as bad as it ever has been! I think this might put an end to the operation plans now? The cleansing and Betamethasone cream was applied, but I had to do it all again a few minutes later.
More extra washing to do now! Must get the mass of laundry done in the morning.
Carried on Chronicalisationing, then got the meal prepared.
Despite the aches and pains, bleeding Little Inchy and a dizzy spell or two, I enjoyed the meal.
So tired and drained, I only stayed awake for the first part of Heartbeat, going off into the dream-world at the first commercial break!
Not a lot of sleep again. Woke at 0310hrs annoyed at not recalling anything about the dreams this time at all, but knew I’d been having them?
As I extracted myself from the wobbly £300 second-hand recliner, there were no dizzies, the water retention seemed to be going down, but the swollen stomach was still wobbling about with increased weight and mass as I made my way to the porcelain room for a heavy duty session? It came freely, very freely. I was wondering when it would stop, Tsk!
Did the health checks and the weight, despite the fluid retention seemingly going down, was a record high for this year!
The other readings seemed to be okay though.
Sorted the medication pots for the coming week.
Nearly out of 30g Codeine Phosphates, but looking at the Google Calendar, I noticed I have to collect the prescriptions from the Chemist in Carrington on Monday.
Or, I might go down later today if the legs are okay to retrieve them, as Monday appears to be going to be a helluva busy day for me, according to the reminders!
I can get some bread at the same time from the Continental Food Store perhaps.
Got the computer going and finished the Friday diary off and got it posted.
Did some WordPressing.
Then onto Facebooking.
Then made a start on a new graphic. Patricia Kropf and Meritt Hutton with their new business venture? Hehe!
Next, I carried out the ablutions, jolly good scrub-up and ready to go out on the hobble to the chemist.
Took the black bags with me and dropped them down the chute, into the lift for a shuddery ride down to the foyer. Met a gal from the 13th floor and had a chinwag. She told me the lift had been reported.
On the limp up Chestnut Walk, I counted 66 markings on the road, pavements and grass. Civil engineers code?
They were in red, blue, white and yellow, sprayed on. Looks like we have a bit of digging to contend me before the workers start doing the upgrade to the flats? Wonder what they mean?
Down Winchester Street and onto Mansfield Road and left, up the hill towards Carrington.
Called into the Continental Food Store and got a loaf and some of their Rolled cooked belly pork with herbs and garlic. The larger lady was serving today, she is less severe than the smaller one, and I like her.
Near the top of the hill, before going over it and down into Carrington, I stopped and turned to take a picture of where I’d walked along the road so far. And caught this naughty Pavement Cyclist who came onto the road at the pelican lights when they were on red and nearly hit lady crossing (Out of picture), then he turned right and up the hill on the road.
Plodded on over the hill and down into Carrington proper and crossed the pelican lights there near to the Co-op.
Where I came across this piece of Nottingham Pavement Art:
It was outside the chip shop, called Pancho’s Fish Restuarant – Burgers, Pizzas & Kebabs.N
I was not surprised in the slightest!N
It reminded me of the few times I’d used this eatery in years gone by when I lived nearby. Something to complain about every time I used it. Mind you, his sausages in batter were alway okay, just the chips, chicken, fish and peas that were horrible! Hehe! Looks like not much has changed?
Walked down to the chemist shop and got the prescriptions.
Then further down the road and onto Hucknall Road to catch a bus into Bulwell. I’d forgotten it was the weekend and the next bus was not due for 55 minutes. So I changed the plans and called into the Lidl store (When will I ever learn!) I spent a long time wandering around and ended up getting some treats. Extra Strong Danish Blue Cheese, Mushroom Tortelloni, Matured for six months Manchego Cheese (Never heard of it before?) It is sheep’s cheese, hope I like it, a block of West Country Vintage Cheddar and some Greek Style plain yoghourt I can add honey or lemon curd to later.
With the big bag of medications and the other things, I was struggling a bit when I left the store, so caught a bus back into Sherwood.
Got off and limped up the road and across the pelican lights to the other side, really had to fight with the legs to get up to the bus top.
Where a bit of luck (Yes, it can happen to me, Hehe!) and as got to it, a 40 bus arrived that took me up Winchester Street. So glad it did, because the next one was an hour later and I’d have been forced into walking all the way up back to the flats.
Back at the apartments, I noticed there must have been hundreds of the surveyor’s signs all over.
Tinkled into the porcelain got the kettle on and unloaded the purchases.
The biggest one, the medications I sorted first into their dedicated drawer.
Then distributed the fodder in various locations.
Looking forward to trying out the new cheeses with some boiled then roasted seasoned potatoes.
I got one of the antacid bottles out to have a swig…
Whoopsiedangleplop number two of the day occurred Humph!: I dropped the bottle, made of glass of course. Heck of a job cleaning it all up. Still, the legs were not as bad as yesterday, so the bending to get the broken glass was not too bad, and I didn’t cut myself anywhere. Getting the spilt medicine off the floor, sink and my trousers were the hardest tasks! The sink is till smeared with it and the trousers will have to go in the washer! Tsk!
Made another brew and got the computer on to update this tosh.
Got the nosh sorted and served up.
At this stage, I feel, in the cause of the advancement of taste-buds and folk who enjoy their food, a particular obligationalistical duty. To offer a warning of perhaps, the most tasteless, cardboard textured imitation plastic cheese that I was foolish enough to be tempted to buy and try to eat when I got home.
From the Lidl store in Carrington.
Mature Manchego Cheese – not the wording, Mature!
Bland is too weak a word to describe this crap cheese!
It is now in the bin, but I fear for any rats that might nibble at it in the refuse bins. They might as well nibble on newspapers if they want any flavour or taste!
Washed up and settled to watch three films that followed each other on the TV.
Fell asleep within ten minutes of the first one starting. Woke up half an hour into the next one, lasted until the adverts came on. Then the Lethal Weapon 3 came on, I didn’t get beyond the opening sequence.
Got out of the wobbly shaking unbalanced £300 second-hand recliner and off to the porcelain room. Very little sleep again last night.
I pondered on the dream, Olive’s condition and the banking fiasco, I felt more down than I have done for a good while. The thought of the Thursday Tenants Social Hour did not cheer me up.
Still, no bleeding again this morning. I got the nibbles and prizes for the Social Hout raffle ready.
Made a brew, took the medications and did the first Health Check.
Finished off and posted Wednesday’s Inchcock Today, did some graphicalisationing and started this one off.
Sneezing a bit this morning.
Worked on the graphics some more for hours.
Viewed the news about the cowardly killer in London. Words cannot help coming from me this time, or next time. Sadness is in my heart. I will try my best not to refer to this again in my blogs, it hurts so. Sorry.
Did my ablutions and readied the things, the raffle prizes and nibbles, for the Social Hour and set off, taking the glass jars to the recycling bin on the way. Everyone there seemed determined to have a good time this morning. Defiance I think? No one mentioned anything other than normal.
I gave 94-year-old Eddy a loaf of Polish bread, and he seemed happy to get it, bless him. Gave my raffle tickets to 86-year-old Bill (William on Sundays) and felt tickled pink when he won five prizes. I’ll give them (the raffle tickets) to some else next week. I enjoyed a few decent nattering sessions on the day.
Back to the flat and got the things in the bag to go to see the new Bank Manager in Sherwood. I’d got a new ID letter from the Council, but felt very confused as to what I was doing. I could do with some help really. I knew I had to try out the old replacement card from the old bank to make sure it worked. And I wanted to get clarification about what further ID was required. The new statement from the State Pension people had not yet, arrived.
I met some new tenants on my way out. Two of them spoke and talked, the other was a bit aloof. Maybe through his being new?
To the end of the road, taking a lovely photo of the dock leaves and nettles coming into bloom.
Despite everything going on, I do appreciate the new growth that the coming of Spring brings with it.
Just up the road a bit, I saw such beauty again in one of the tree’s roots and gave myself a moment or two admiring nature as I had not done before I moved into this flat and the amazing scenery and greenery that surrounds it.
I thought my struggle with the ailments, the bank and the depression are nothing compared to nature’s beauty in it’s fight each and every year.
I turned the corner and down Winchester Street toward Sherwood, and took yet another photographicalisation that I found remarkable.
Pressed on hobbling down and over Mansfield Road and into the bank.
Joined the queue and tried to sort my brain out with what I had to ask. When my turn came, I approached the lady and asked if it was possible for me to have a word with the manager. I was informed he was away on holiday this week but would be back next week on Tuesday. I could have cried after all that effort sorting the paperwork and getting my head around things!
I departed after having a little none-insulting moan, to the lady.
Out and tried the card in the ATM, it accepted the old code, so at least I know I can get to the money now. I had feared the card might have gotten swallowed up by the machine. All were working.
Crossed over and down the hill and went into the Polish shop and got a small continental loaf and some roast belly pork with herbs.
Then up the hill and went into Wilko and bought Dettol, Lavender Antiseptic Disinfectant (Excellent value at £2 a bottle), Citrus Men’s Deodorant Even better value at 50p a small spray), Spectacle cleaner Not cheap, but very good, and a pot of Cod liver oil capsules Good value at 85p.
Out and up the hill, over the top and down to the entrance to Woodthorpe Grange Park and through the gates, up the path.
The day was windy but not cold, and the sunshine, hazy at times was very pleasant.
Very few pets or people about as I entered.
The coming lush greenery was a pleasure to behold.
A few hundred yards up the footpath and lady overtook me., then a Footpath Cyclist appeared
Then a Footpath Cyclist appeared at the top of the hill coming in my way direction.By the time I’d got my camera out.
By the time I’d got my camera out, he almost level with me.
This chap was definitely a candidate for the next Olympics. Give him credit, he did move to the other side of the path in time as he flashed by.
The top of the hill as I turned right to go down by the Copse and the gravel footpath where I met 94-year-old Eddy feeding the birds the other day, the ground was mud covered and soggy?
I suppose there will be a logical, rational reason for this quagmire? But I can’t see why it was so at that moment?
I got into the flat and made use of the porcelain. Still no bleeding from either Little Inchy nor Haemorrhoid Harold. I was doing so well again healthwise. Only Anne Gyna was giving me much stick, even Duodenal Donald had eased off. So, no grievance in this department today.
I called Olive, gave it plenty of time ringing in case she was not moving very well, but no answer. I hope she is okay.
Updated this diary for an hour or two. Then tried ringing Olive again. Same situation, I am fretting, a bit now.
Did some Facebooking.
Finished off the latest TFZer Film Production graphic, from Sandie Lentz Films.
Tried to make it a little surreal with putting things from different time periods on it.
Reasonably happy with it.
Rang Olive and got an answer. She was having family call and stay with her, so didn’t want me to visit her until Monday at the earliest. I felt so pleased she was getting help, especially from her loving family, but a little weakly sorry for myself that I could not call to see her, but I did understand, and she managed to tell me off a bit, and that’s a good sign.
With mixed emotions, but gladness that she is home and sounding a bit better, I got the meal prepared.
Mushroom pate, beetroot, belly pork with herbs, soft and cheddar cheese, vegetable stuffing slices, pickled egg, soy mushrooms and some Marmite crisps. And bread and real butter. Followed by a luxury lemon curd yoghourt and a banana.
I couldn’t eat it all. But enjoyed what I did eat.
Suddenly feeling drained, I got the TV on (DVD still not working again, humph!) and promptly fell asleep.
During the night, I thought I had woken and written down some notes about the dream I’d been having… When I woke and stirred at 0325hrs, I could find no note – perhaps I’d imagined I’d dreamed of making the record?
So I got out of the £300 second-hand shaking and shuddering recliner chair (Like myself, I don’t think it has long left, Hehe) took off the wonderfully warm cover and the cushions and searched all over for it, in the certainty that I actually did write it. Guess what I found? Think food…
Yes, another of the escaped and hidden garden peas from when I dropped the dinner plate last week.
Rock hard it was. I had to smile to myself! The cleaning ladies, if cleaning is the right word to use here, had taken everything off of the chair as I asked them to in cleaning it for the first time since they had been coming, stripped it they did, and they didn’t find it. As I didn’t when I looked under the chairs with a torch after the Whoopsiedangleplop occurred? People were talking about ants taking over the world, but what about the garden pea danger? Orbb 80, a wonderfully caring and humourous blogger on WordPress knows about the danger, she warned me in a comment. Honestly!
I made a brew and got the computer on.
Feeling a tad more content this morning, up to now like. Worried about Olive, though, I’ll call her at a reasonable time, just to see if she is okay and if there is anything I can do to help. She is going out with her daughter today so I might not catch her in.
I changed the Morrisons order I’ve got in with them. Took two items off and added six. The banking fiasco going on, I’m surprised they are still accepting the card, that’s why I added some things, just in case the card fails later.
I was summoned to the porcelain for a heavy duty session. Splendid, no bleeding from either front or rear! Arthur Itis was hardly noticeable, Duodenal Daniel was not bad at all, Reflux Roger was active, but this was not due to the valve sticking and not painful in the slightest; This wind was due to last nights nosh I’m sure. Hehe! Hernia Harry was all calm too. Only Anne Gyne with her new pain on the left chest and up under the left arm was giving me any real grief, and that was far less than last night.
So, things medically were far easier today.
Worries me a bit that, mind. Haha!
The only concern was my so regular visitations to the WC, where’s it all coming from, I’ve only had half a small mug of tea?
Bravely I made another cup of tea.
Then I took a photographicalisation from the kitchen window. All looked so calm, no rain belting down, no high winds howling yet either.
Not a soul in sight, no moving vehicles, lovely and peaceful.
Got on with finishing yesterday’s diary and started this one off.
Did some blogging and commenting on WordPress. Took a while catching up.
Then onto Facebooking.
Graphic creation next, I made a start on the next TFZ series, but only got two completed and it was time for me to do the ablutions if I am to go out for a wander and window shop.
Wrapped up well and set off down to the bus stop (Oh, I do appreciate my free pensioner’s bus pass).
Another bit of a Whoopsiegangleplop here (I know, sad);
The bus was in, and I jumped on it (Well when I say jumped… hehe) it moved off immediately, and got out the crossword book and realised later, it was the City Centre Bus and not the Arnold bus I was travelling on.
“Nae bother!” I said to myself, hearing my old neighbour and best mate Jock Kirkpatric’s voice saying the same thing, and I revelled in the memories that flooded back to me of those days of life, love and laughter and fishing holidays, now long gone.
No morose memories and they did not get me feeling sorry for myself or unhappy, just so appreciative that I met and palled up with this older man from Stromness in the Orkneys, who became a gunner on the bombers in the second world war, and ended up as a part of my life as a next door neighbour and an example and guide to me, bringing so much to admire and respect.
I waffled a bit there, but that is how I felt at that time, proud to have known him. I anticipate when I go, he will have got a job at St Peter’s gate and will make sure I get through to join him if he can. Hehehe!
It dawned on me then as I looked around that I was on the wrong bus… Again! Stayed on and went to the City Centre and had an aimless wander around for a while, taking some photographs as I did.
Not too many folks around today. Plenty of street artists, beggars, Big Issue Sellers and pavement cyclists, though.
I did a circular walk around the Slab Square, feeling amazingly calm in myself?
Making my way back to the start point, I called in the book shop and had a perusal, but they had nothing that drew my interest.
Then had a nosey in Marks & Spencers food hall – and came out buying nothing!
Felt a bit chuffed with my new found resilience to spending.
Came down Long Row and foolishly strayed into the Primark store. Where an incident took place that took me back to the Security working days. (Full of memory prompting today was?) I went into the ladies section to get some photographs to use on the TFZer site graphic series. That was when I saw a family of Mum, Dad and four kids, Mam was shoving things into the pram of the youngest child and covering them up. This was in the fashion clothing section. For some stupid reason, I followed them.
As the Dad decided to join in and was putting an imitation fur something or other behind the kid, Mother spotted me watching… said something to Dad, they both gave me a stare for a few seconds, and I got out my mobile phone and pretended to use it as an RT.
After a few words, they got all the stuff hidden in the pram behind the child out and just dropped them on the floor in the aisle, then partly kicked them under some display racking.
They then calmly made their exit from the store, seemingly laughing with each other as they went through the doors?
Naughty people!
I went up to the Gents department to have a look to see if they had any of the ‘loose fitting’ cotton underpants on sale. They did, and I got two packs of three, to replace the ones I could not find in the flat. I was so sure I’d bought a bag of this type of undies from Asda a while ago, but don’t seem able to locate them. Nothing new there, mind, Tsk!
Back to the bus stop and didn’t have long to wait for the L9 bus, which whisked me back to the flat. Bill (William on Sundays) from the flats whom I sit with at the Tenants Social Hour got on. Later I moved and sat next to him for a gossip. He looked exhausted.
Back at the flats, the wind was howling, the sun disappeared, and the rain just starting, missed it nicely, by the time I’d got in and up the lift and into the flat, it was belting down!
Got the oven on warming ready for me to cook the crisscrossed smokey bacon and vegetarian sausages to have with the flavoured tomatoes for my meal of the day.
As I was throwing away the empty can, I caught the finger end on the edge of the cut metal edge and got a cut down between the finger and nail. Don’t half bleed those types of cuts, Hehe!
For my next Whoopsiedangleplop: I put a Boon DVD into the slot on the TV, and it refused to play? It went to the opening screen with the option to play, but no response when I pressed the button to play, would move between options on the screen either? Unsure of the problem, I changed the batteries in the remote thingy. Still no joy. Turned off the set and rebooted, tried again, same frozen screen. Tried another DVD, same thing. I reckon I can safely say, the DVD drive thing is now Kaputt! Humph!
Went onto the TV mode and the things worked as normal. But could I nod off as normal? No! Which is a good job, ’cause I smelt the bacon burning!
I rescued the bacon and sausages and dished them up with some mushrooms in the new deep dish.
I thought this fodder looked like it was going to be great tasting.
It wasn’t!
The bacon was burnt on the outside and undercooked on the inside, the flavoured tomatoes tasted terrible (No idea what I put in wrong?). The bread had gotten dried and hard around the edges. The sausages were very nice, as was the Lemon Curd yoghourt.
In slightly lower mood now, I went to wash up the pots as they say. A farcical Whoopsiedangleplopped event if ever I’d had one!
Dropped and broke the blue mug…
Opened the cut in the finger when I caught it on the knife in the washing up bowl…
Banged my knee against the door handle on the cupboard under the sink and started Arthur Itis off, and he’s enjoying himself even now the following morning…
Finally the last in this series of Whoopsiedangleplops: Bent down to put the washing up liquid back in the under sink storage and hit my head on the sink!
Then, I spotted the bag with the underpants still inside.
So I thought I’d put the in the hanging fabric space saver thingy on the clothes rack.
This was when I found the Asda Loose Fitting cotton underpants I figured I’d lost before… What a Plonka!
I did notice, that the Asda ones were £10 for three and the Primark £4.50 for three?
Both claim to be Cotton Rich loose fit Boxers, but the Asda one being Jersey Cotton Rich loose fit Boxers?
At least, I should have enough Cotton Rich loose fit Boxers to see me out now!
Unless I lose them again? Hehe!
On and off, more off than on, I struggled to watch some TV programmes, five minutes here, ten minutes there.
Having got through the night of horrendous dreams, rooftop chases, falling in the canal, underground caves, being chased in sewers, decapitated by Roman soldiers… I’m sure there were many more events that took place in my slumbers, but these ones I can recall. I think I woke up feeling wearier than I went to sleep.
0300hrs: The £300 second-hand recliner chair grumblingly and jerkily allowed me out of it to get to the porcelain. Where the news was good. No bleeding from Haemorrhoid Harold or Little Inchy. Reflux Roger was not too good, but Duodenal Daniel, Anne Gyna and Harry Hernia no bother much at all. Arthur Itis his usual self with the knees and ankles, just a bit annoyed with the hands and fingers. Overall, a great start to the day! Fingers crossed (Painfully thanks to Arthur. [Hehehe!]) Carried out the first of the health checks, all looked good.
Got the laundry stuff collected and down to the laundry room. Got the washer going and back up to the flat. Computer turned on and finished yesterday’s diary and posted it off.
Did the top photo and made a start on this one. Time to go down to move the laundry into the dryer. (0330ish) This I did, then back to the computer and worked on this diary and updated the Excel Health Check Sheet.
A final trip down to the laundry room to collect the gear and clean it up. On the way down and throughout these activities, I found myself mentally having a self-critical panegyrical discussion. Boy did I perorate with myself, no summing up or conclusions were arrived at, though. In those few minutes going down in the lift, I think I analysed and repeatedly refuted my rights to sanity? Weird that?
I retrieved the dried clothes into the bag, washed the filter and wiped around.
All done around 0415hrs or so, and back up to the flat.
Put the clobber away and made another cuppa and took the medications and creamed the areas of my masculine, the flaccid body that needed the attentions of the creams and lotions. Haha!
Back on the computer.
Decided to go out later and get some fodder in after I go to the clinic. Must make a list of things to take with me, I’ll do it now… Done it.
Ablutions were done I wrapped up well and set off for the Clinic. I forgot to take the request for new pads with me, but at least it was only one thing I forgot to take with me today… I hoped, Hehe!
I rang Warden Dean to see if I could talk with her about the meeting with the bank on Thursday, but could not get through – Try again later it said. Maybe I dialled the wrong number?
Caught the 40 bus straight to the clinic and was in and out in half an hour. A Dr Dragomir Vladimirescu, (I think) along with a nurse and several students, did the checks in no time and declared that surgery should not be expected now as things were healing so well, but to anticipate the odd bleeding sessions in times of stress? Stress, I thought, what does that mean? I asked him. Nighttime erections he said? (Oh?)
As I came out of the building to get the bus, both hearing aids bleeped to indicate they needed changing. So, bus back to the flat and changed them, luckily it timed well with the L9 to City Bound bus’s arrival, and I caught that into the Slab Square. Chinwag with a few tenants appreciated.
I had a walk around the City Centre (And I mean walk, not hobble, as Arthur Itis was being kind to me today, bless him) and ended up at M&S’s Foodhall, feeling a bit of sorrow for the Big Issue selling bloke at the entrance and handed him a bit of cash.
Spent far too much, I blame Marks & Spencers for selling Sour Dough bread, Best Beef Steak Lasagnes, leeks, swedes, Lemon Swiss Rolls and Lamb Moussaka. Never had this before, but it looks similar to Lasagne, so I should like it I hope.
I noticed when packing the things I’d bought, into the bags at the check-out, that this, as well as the lasagne, had three red warnings on the content label thingamajig on the box label. Oh, dear? Plenty of life on them all, well, four days.
I caught a bus, (oh I do love my free pensioner’s bus pass) into Arnold and called in to get some roast cooked belly pork slices. Popped into Fulton Food Stores and got four small jars of Silverskin Onions in pickled vinegar for only £1, bargain there I thought!
Went to catch the L9 bus back to the flats, but it did not arrive? Whilst waiting at the bus stop, Anne Gyna started off giving me bother, rather badly bless her. I caught a bus into the City Centre, then the L9 from Queen Street back to the flats. Got in and took some extra Codeine Phosphate. The Morphine Sulphate would have been a lot better, Anne Gyna seemed to be persisting so they have taken me off of this, in preparation for the operation later, so I’m not complaining… or am I? Hehehe!
Anne Gyna seemed to be persisting. I could not concentrate to read the book, so got the fodder done earlier than usual.
I had this vegetarian meal with a roast cooked belly pork sandwich. Naughtily did some oven chips, too many perhaps, but I ate it all.
My Dad used to call me a ‘Gannet! He was right.(All very good, including the Silverskin onions in pickling vinegar with peppers!)
Sudden tiredness overcame me as I was watching the TV, but still, I could not get to sleep until well gone midnight again, thanks to Anne Gyna.
An almost 6 hour, dream-free (At least I think so) sleep ended when I sparked into life with an urgent mission to get to the porcelain… and only just got out of the £300 second-hand shudderingly refusing to lower me down so I had to climb out of it recliner and onto the throne in time! Phew!
Laundry room duties to perform today, so I gathered the requirements needed and headed down and got the clobber into the washer on short mode. Had to sweep up a bit, cause someone had been eating a takeaway and bits of food were scattered around the floor, the smell from the bin where they had dumped the box, offered no help in my trying to work out what it was they had – the odour seemed a mixture of stale fish and curry to me. Still, it took my mind off of the depression and boredom for a while.
Up to the flat, where I got the health readings done and recorded on my new Excel sheet where I’ve now got the three daily checks in a single line… and have at last worked out how to get an average of certain cells to record automatically. And it only took me five hours to find how to do, yesterday. (Sad innit?)
I think the Average cells will give a reading that is correct for the week for each of the three readings when I’ve completed the week in full. I still can’t yet work out how to get an average for the full week yet, but I’m working on it. (Not easy being a thick psittacism ridden ultracrepidarian yer know. Huh!)
Back down with some more washing, towels, dressing gown and jammies, but them in the washer on short mode after I’d moved the others stuff into the dryer, back again up to the flat and got on with finishing yesterday’s diary off with a nice cup of tea.
Down again and moved the clothes from the washer into the dryer with the first load… clever stuff eh? And I remembered to keep them separate to prevent the bits of fluff sticking to the other clobber?
Yet again back to number 72 where I started this diary off and going.
Note the timer thingamajig on the printer, I felt I was well organised this morning – being aware that thinking confident things like this usually forebodes Whoopsiedanglplops, failures or defeat that is in the air and imminently coming my way! Oh dear!
Down yet once again to collect the washing – all seemed dried, sorted and folded them in order and departed the laundry room – actually trapping just one finger in the heavy fire-door, it had to be the finger that I cut yesterday didn’t it? And trapped exactly where the cut was. Nice little bruise coming now. That feeling of foreboding didn’t take long to materialise did it… Humph!
Back up into my miniature window leaking, burnt saucepan containing flat, put the stuff away, made another cuppa, took the medications and applied the creams and lotions and back onto the computer to update this tosh.
Checked the note of things to do:
Go to a new bank and see how to transfer money to new account from old bank that is going broke.
Call at Dentist to check appointment because I’ve downloaded G Suite which has deleted all my calendar and YouTube history and settings?
To Post Office get package and details of how to send a parcel to Australia.
See Warden Deana for help over TV Licencing letter: Also, the window repairs after waiting in on the day I reported it (Not been out since) and being told they would come within four hours and they came ten hours later at midnight, did nothing and told me they would send someone Friday morning twixt 0800 > 1200hrs and I didn’t move out of the flat, lost sleep and no one arrived.
Check with clinic due to item 3
Check with surgery and Warfarin list due to item 3
Commit Hagi Kari (Optional) Hehe!
I thought at one time, I’d become omniscient, but realised I was a fainéant, at best.
I phoned Olive see how she was going, she sounded good. She said I could call to see her before lunch as she was being picked up to go to afternoon tea with the family. (But I was back from the shopping too late.)
I hobbled up through the park and into Sherwood, called in the shop that is closing down and got some bargains. Caramel Chocolate Peanuts, Black Bean sauce, Soap capsules, Chocolate Almonds, Mr Muscle cleaner each with 50% off.
I felt a bit sorry for the staff, but they all seemed cheerful enough. I imagine they will be relocated at another branch or they will be taken on by the buyers, which is Tesco, I believe.
Sorry aboutSorry about the face in this one.
Wandered down to Wilko’s and got a replacement saucepan at a good price, £3. A washing brush and two replacement pads for £2.50, a small Citrus deodorant spray for only 50p too.
Got some pork & mushroom pate for tonight’s planned salad of sorts.
The maroon and white box on the lower left of the above photograph… I suppose there will be some doubting personages who think it might contain two iced strawberry and cream buns?
You are right, Hehehe!
I was hoping to give one to Olive, but I got back to the flat too late to visit her.
I’ll just have to eat them both.
Caught the bus back up the hill and had a natter with some other residents on it.
Got in and put the things away and took the photos. Arthur Itis and Anne Gyna were being nice to me today, Reflux Roger and Duodenal Donald were too. Only Haemorrhoid Harry and Dizzy Dennis were playing up at this stage.
I was appreciating this relief when I remembered all the jobs I had to get done on Monday and or Tuesday, Tsk!
Did some graphicationalisationing on CorelDraw/Paint.
Had me nosh and settled to watch TV, fell asleep at first commercials, woke up a 0300hrs and got up.
