Inchcock Today Thu 7 Jan 2016: Hassle, hassle, hassle! Did I tell you I’m getting hassle?

Thursday 7th January 2016

I woke up at 0225 hrs and struggled to get to the porcelain. And nothing moved, just wind.

To rumbling innards prevented me getting back to sleep, so I gave up and put the kettle then laptop on.

Checked my supplies of luxury foods in the draws in the kitchen, getting low now. Hehe!

The emissions of the wind from my rear end were so bad this morning and foul smelling, they started my haemorrhoids off!

I finished off Wednesdays diary and started on this one.

Too early to take the morning medications yet.

Deana is coming today to talk to me and do a questionnaire thing about the tenancy? 0830 hrs she said.

I did some Facebooking.

Then I finished off this graphic for the TFZ site and got it posted.

Rushed to the WC in response to me innards letting me know it was urgent.

Made it only just in time, very close to having another Whoopsiedangle!

I had some almost instant, relief in the rumbling innards department. So much easier now.

Made graphic of one old photo I had of Pete from years ago when he broke his neck.

Turned out a bit like I wanted, quite pleased with it in the end. Emailed it to Jane and Pete

Got an email from Steve Age UK:

I have called the Nottingham Building Society, and they inform me your house is still about eight weeks away from completion they say due to the solicitors waiting for your ID etc.

Which is hogwash I might add, two weeks after taking in the required ID, I got a letter and phone call from them asking me for it! Gits!

He continued:

They have given me names of companies who will insure empty properties. They will charge heavily of course for an empty house. You may have to drain the water from the heating system.

Let me know what you want to do and I can help you with it.

I answered asking him to go ahead and get it sorted ASAP, please.

Huh!

I took the rubbish bags to the chute, got a telephone call when I got back to the flat.

IT was Deana; she would be late for our appointment, her car window will not close, and she is taking it to get sorted out.

Updated this boring crap while I waited.

Going to miss the bus to the clinic now – humph!

After Facebooking a bit more, Deana arrived. Upset she was late, I told her not to worry.

The questionnaire was finally finished in an hour or so. We found time for  a natter and laugh in between.

The 1039 bus had just gone, so I got on the laptop to update this.

Got an email from Steve – he’s calling after 1400hrs today. To make arrangements for the insurance cover.

So I scrapped my Clinic visit and settle in for the day, Again!

Will I ever get out and about again?

I hope to get to the shops and clinic tomorrow, then.

Boy, has the wind got up? Yes, it flipping well has!

Rain and high winds seemed to have settled in now. The gaps in the kitchen window and frame are letting in the perishing wind – I nearly got blown back out of the door just now. Hehehe.

Steve arrived, and we got the insurance for the old place sorted, but only after much kerfuffle.

Took him over an hour to get it sorted, but I’m more at ease now it’s done.

Got a bit of cleaning and sorting done after he’d gone.

When I’d done cleaning and sorting I felt tired, exhausted and every part of my anatomy hurt!

Whoopsiedangleplop again when I cleaned underneath my 1967 G-Plan cupboard sideboard thingy, I tried to get up using my walking stick – and fell off of it! Hehehe! A bit of bad luck when I was raising myself supported by the stick, the left hand froze and the right knee gave way at the same time! Hey-ho!

9.4/10 for this nosh!

Dinner in the oven, a fish meal tonight. Fish fingers and fish cakes, garden peas, beetroot and bread thins.

The rain almost stopped, the wind still vicious, it went dark quickly and the clouds massed.

I’m not too bothered about things now the insurance is settled.

Looking forward to getting out tomorrow. Must get back for the Iceland delivery though at 1500 hrs, so need to make an early start to ensure I can catch the L9 back to the flats. The last one from town is at 1505 hrs. May go to Arnold instead and get some of those Anya potatoes from J Sainsbury tomorrow?

I took my evening medications, missed the midday ones being so busy like. Tsk!

Watched some episodes of Goodnight Sweetheart series five on DVD.

I cannot agree or condone the polyamorous content of the show – but I couldn’t help finding it amusing.

I suspect the thought of time travel appeals to most folk?

The rain had stopped, but the winds continued.

Stayed awake for two full half-hour episodes before drifting off into oblivion for the night.

Slept well for once too.

Inchcock Today Thu 31st Dec 15: Laundry problems, New Year meeting and Little Inchy bleeding again. Tsk!

What’s the difference between a mosquito and a lawyer?
One is a blood-sucking parasite, the other is an insect.

Thursday 31st December 2015

The view from the kitchen window

Woke at 0400 hrs, the rumbling innards back again! after a terrible night of my waking, aching and far, er, passing the wind.

Still, it took me mind off of the creaking neck pains. Hehehe!

To the bathroom to find Little Inchy had had a bad night and needed untangling of the matted blood. Huh!

Had a few shakes this morning too.

Made a cuppa and took me medications.

Made up a bag of goodies for the meeting tonight at the Comunity shed. I shan’t be capable of waiting up to see in the new year with them, so I’ll go early and leave early leaving them some nibbles.

Laptop on to do the diaries. Had a proper dizzy while I was at at the laptop – scared me for a few seconds, yet it was all over and done with in a minute? Did some Facebooking and WordPressing.

Got the bath ready and had a shave. Did me teggies, got in the tub for a good soak and sorted Little Inchy out afterwards. Cleaned the bathroom and got me laundry and myself ready.

I’d thought if I get the laundry out of the way early, I would be able to get a kip in before the New Year Meeting at 1930 hrs in the Community Shed. Then I might avoid falling asleep in the meeting?

Took me rubbish bags to the chute and went down to the laundry room. sadly

Sadly all the machines were in use. So I walked to the Community Shed to take the mail delivered to the last tenant and give the gals some nibbles. I’d left the letters near the flat door, though. Huh!

Came back to the flats and took note of the finishing time of the washers. Nipped up to the apartment and updated this diary, and then went down again to the laundry room with my washing and crossword book, hoping to get a machine free this time.

Got one this time. Started the washing machine and a chappie came down and began to empty a washer, he then used both devices and when I pointed this out he was not a happy laddie. He then started both driers going. Meaning, that my washer would be finished in 40 minutes, and I’d have another half hour to wait for a drier to come free. Humph!

I sat in the lobby, and the frail lady from the 11th floor came down.

We had a nice chinwag while I waited for the drier to come free. The chappie didn’t come down by the time it had finished so I took out his washing and put mine in it.

He was not happy when he came down, and told me the washing was not dry and assumed I’d taken out his finished laundry early, so I could get mine in. I calmly told him I had not taken out his washing before the drier had completed its cycle – and he shouldn’t have been using two machines, and I thought he had shown his ignorance lack of respect in doing so. He turned a bit nasty and left the laundry room chuntering. Proving to me his lack of thought and consideration for others. I anticipate further bother from this crude animal at a future time!

I enjoyed a further natter with the lady while waiting.

Got my washing out so someone else could use the washer.

Got me drier going as the rain pelted down and the darkness fell.

Boy did the rain come too!

Deana came through the lobby, and I mentioned the ignorant one who used all the machines. I have no fear of conflict with this big bloke oddly enough – his disregard for others overpowers my nervousness in this instance.

Managed a chat with some others coming and going, and then took my laundry out and back up to the flat.

Hunger pangs sprang to life, and I got some battered fish fingers, fish cakes and pollock in the oven and updated this diary again.

Tasty but too large Fish Nosh

Got my nosh and added a bit of ketchup to it, and ate it with relish and some bread thins. Fish night nosh; Battered fish fingers, battered fish cakes and battered cod wedges, with baked beans.

Far too much and it was far too nice too as well and besides as well as.

Ate the lot, thus ruining me recent attempts at going on a diet of sorts and eating less. Humph!

Nodded off for an hour or so and found I was late for the New Year get together at the Winwood Centre (Community Shed).

On my way to the Community Hut

Got myself ready with the nibbles I was taking and ventured out into the drizzle and walked to the hut.

I was wondering how many of the 400 + tenants would be present., and looking forward to.

Despite the late time for me, I was looking forward to meeting the residents I might not have met before.

The Cheery Four tenants there

Not a full house by any means.

The frail lady from the 11th floor was there, (Second left), The amazing 94-year-old Gentleman Frank from Woodthorpe Court (At the end of the table in yellow) and another man and wife who I had not seen before – and that was it. But it was early yet, hours before midnight and the New Year.

Frank and I eventually mastered the music machine, and we got some DVDs of 1940 and 50’s music playing.

Royalty and Comedian?

The man and woman put on some masks and asked me to take a photograph of them.

It was wonderful listening as best I could to their stories and reminiscences.

The frail lady left and I realised I’d have to follow her soon. I’d missed my medications and the stomach was rumbling, but even worse I was being tempted by the alcohol, although it was not offered to me; I began seeing it as desirable. No way can I afford to start drinking again after the battle to stop many years ago now.

The tummy started rumbling. Oh dear. I said my farewells and wished them a Happy New Year and made my way back to the flat in the dark and drizzle. I think they thought I was a bit anti-social leaving so early?

Back in the apartment, I took some stomach settler but it was too late for me to take my evening medications. WC’d and doctored Little Inchy. Made a cuppa and decided to watch the film Space Cowboys, one of my all time favourites, and planned to take a photo of the fireworks that go off at midnight through the kitchen window. I fell asleep and missed the film and fireworks!

Inchcock Today Thur 10 Nov 15: Feeling much better today – worrying innit?

They told me I was gullible and I believed them!

Thursday 10th December 2015

Up late at 0600hrs – Wondered why I had stopped dreaming lately? Or why I can no longer remember them if I am still having them?

To the WC and tended to Little Inchy again – still no news from the hospital or surgery about this?

Made a cuppa and took me medications. found a mess in the kitchen where I’d failed to clear up last night after cooking – Naughty Boy!

Laptop on. Message from Kentucky Angel Angie this morning – so happy she is not poorly. Great news to start the day off. Her turns of phrase I find so witty, here is one she wrote when referring to Solicitors: “All nincompoops, found at the bottom of the slime ponds in life.” Thanks Angie, spot on methinks?”

Coreldraw is still playing up and I can’t do the work I want to on it, still, I’ll have another go later.

Me over Christmas order is coming today for the long life stuff from Asda (Wal-Mart).

Got a message from Steve Age UK asking if all right? After not answering so many of my messages and not getting back to me about the Building Society query too?

I’ll send him an Email methinks. Yes… I’ll do it now.

Done it, updated him on things and Jane too.

Deana will be calling today she said, so I’ll get missen spit and polished and bathed now.

Back in a bit…

That’s better. Sorted the laundry things for doing and got down to the laundry room and the washing in on ‘Quick wash’.

Windy and rainy again today.

Frank (another tenant) came down and out for a fag at the front of the foyer.

Many folk coming in and out, and I really enjoyed a good few natters and listening to their stories as they passed though the reception and by the laundry room.

Frank told me to take a look at his home-made card he’d left on the table in reception with the others.

Apparently since the others started calling him a ‘Christmas Scrooge’ three ears ago, he makes one of these each year now.

Got to like his humour haven’t you. He used an old soap powder box torn out and wrote on the inside “Humbug and Festivities to all!” Hehehe! I told him I’d post the photo and let him know if any comments came in on it.

Saw Norman from the 12th floor and we managed a natter.

Got the washing from the machine into the drier. Not very good though, i shan’t use the ‘Quick mode again!

Deana joined us and had a seat and natter with some tenants. I nipped up to the flat to get the ‘Sign-here’ stickers for her.

I had a read of some of the signs on the boards near the lifts when everyone had disappeared. Mostly waffle with some telling us not to dry anything on the balconies, not to use the rubbish chute twixt 2000 > 0800hrs (Although someone is doing so), n not to use two washing machines (there are only two) at the same time, and not to use a drier if you are not using the washers when a washer is in use. (But folk are doing, like the bloke who’d just got back off holiday did and I had a barney with over his doing so!), And not to do noisy repairs or maintenance after 2000 hours – Like someone was doing last night when I wanted to get to sleep!

So, it appears these notes messages and warnings are as effective as the UKIP Party are in bonding the citizens of this Nation together and getting an MP into Parliament.

Took the rather less than clean washing back to the flat and put me washing away.

The Anticoagulant Service INR Warfarin level blood test results had been delivered. Down a bit to 2.7 this time. I Emailed the GP surgery to get appointment as told for Mon 14 December.

Got a reply in a few minutes from the GP surgery! Booked in for Monday 14th at 1115 hrs. Good that!

Tesco had sent an email wanting to know why I had not been shopping with them lately. I informed/reminded them that last time I did they delivered a broken clock and crushed cakes with no offer of recompense and not to bother now after so long. Nicely mind!

Did some Facebooking before the Asda delivery was due.

When the delivery arrived there were three substitutions:

Kettle Beetroot and Parsnip crisps – subbed with Pita Crisps?

Warburton Brown Thins – subbed with Wholemeal thins.

Jam doughnuts – subbed with Caramel Choux Buns. (Eurgh!)

I knocked on the lady in the next flat’s door and gave her the crisps and Choux buns.

Got me nosh, beef pie, pickled egg, beetroot, sweet potato mince, carrots and potato scones.

Sat down to eat it and realised I’d cooked the pie and potatoes on the wrong setting in the oven and it was not cooked through.

Still, I ate the beetroot carrots and pickled egg.

Finished reading me classic car paper, must save it to give to the flats caretaker Robert when I see him.

Nodded off and on trying to watch TV – gave up and in to the onslaught of sleep… Zzzz…

TTFN folks.

Inchcock Today Fri 4 Dec 15: Rent Arrears! Storm Winds, Sorry for missen agen! Tsk!

Friday 4th December 2015

Up with a start at 0430hrs. Urgently attended the porcelain – messy.

Cuppa and medications taken.

Laptop on. Checked emails and messages to see if owt had come through from the GP, nowt yet though.

Nothing from BJ or Steve of Age UK either. Steve said he’s get in touch about the NBS letter last Monday.

Did get a message from Jane’s Pete. He sent a photo he took of me when I visited them the other day – I was talking away to Fooey while Jane held him lovingly.

My legs had gone down nicely this morning, no hassle from the reflux valve, Anne Gyna or Arthur Itis either. Dizzies and ‘Little Inchy’ were not so kind. But I’m not complaining. Still waiting for the appointment/instructions from the GP surgery – they were due yesterday, should come today surely?

Must keep the mobile in me pocket today, so less chance of missing any important call.

Finished yesterdays diary off and posted it. Started this one-off – then did some Facebooking.

Tummy rumbling again – just soup and bread for nosh later today methinks?

Checked emails again for any messages from the surgery, none yet.

Although feeling a trifle lethargic I decided to get me laundry done. Then I might meet some of the other tenants and get a chin-wag in?

Got me things ready and plodded down to lobby and laundry room. No one about.

Got me laundry in the washer and took some photographs of the Christmas stuff been scattered about the place for us.

They even put some on the window ledges near the entry door.

Nice unexpected touch this. They had even left cards on the desk for some of the residents, nice touch even if I was missed off! Humph! Don’t mind really though.

Back up to the flat. WC’d and updated this diary. Made a cuppa while doing it.

Back down to wait for the washer to finish and move me togs into the frier… er, dryer. No idea why I typed frier?

Took me crossword book and nibbles with me, cause the first bus crowd should be there when I get down.

Back in a bit.

Got the washing into the drier and had a good natter with some of the residents and they helped me wiv me crosswords. Handed out some nibbles.

Spent tome downstairs doing me crosswords and nattering to a few tenant as the came in and out. Cheered me up a bit that did.

The togs smelt nice when they came out of the drier, folded them and back up to the flat.

I’d had a letter from the Nottingham City Homes people delivered – telling me I was in arrears with me rent and had failed to be in for a gas check visit and were pleased with either of these things. They told me to ring them ASAP. I was under the impression that I’d arranged for the rent to be paid through direct debit? Though Steve of Age UK had sorted it. Rang him, no answer.

Then I emailed Deana the flat coordinator asking for help in ringing the City Homes people, I know for certain I have difficulty in hearing them from past attempts.

Put me togs away in airing cupboard and on hangers on me cloth-racks.

Updated this diary, and a but concerned about me rent arrears, I got me hat and coat on and visited the Community shed to see if Deana was in so I could speak to her about the Rent Arrears situation.

Back in a bit again…

Obergruppenfurher Julie was in the hut – and kindly rang them or me. I had also lost me Good Tenant status.

They had apparently been being paid to little though me direct debit since I’ve been here? Thought they would have informed me sooner?

I’ve £292.03 in arrears. They increased the amount, and Julie told me to appeal the loss of me Good Tenant Status through the website.

Rent Arrears – Rent to increase by £372.20! Humph!

Went on the website afterwards but could not find whereto appeal? Thanked her and returned to the flat and wondered if the increase would cover the arrears? No mention of me settling the arrears was mentioned? So I could still be in arrears then?

I hope that Deana can find time to talk to me on this issue and get it sorted before I go in for me surgery. (If I ever hear from the Surgery or clinic that is?).

I don’t think I’m going to hear from them now at this time on a Friday night. Frustrating not knowing if, when, how, where or what the procedure will involve.

Made a strong cuppa and updated this tosh.

No communications received from BJ, Steve Age UK, Deana or The GP Surgery yet. Humph!

So stuck indoors waiting to hear.

Had me nosh, sausage and tomatoes. Took me medications.

Some good old stuff on the TV tonight. Planned me viewing and nodded off, when I wake an hour or so later I wondered what was happening, took me headphones off, I immediately felt sorry for the other tenants with decent hearing – Storm Desmond’s winds were raging outside.

No sleep at all for me, gave up trying altogether. First time I’ve been up so high in these kind of winds – so glad I’ve got me nosh in, and glad now, that the hospital haven’t contacted me about going in!

Wondered if it would ever ease off… Yet the temperature on the kitchen thermometer read 61ºf, the highest all week, despite the winds coming in through every crevice and hole in the walls and windows?

The constant noise drones on! Ah well, another day indoors tomorrow methinks…

Inchcock Today Thu 26 Nov 15: Things gerring a bit better…?

Thursday 26th November 2015

No snow, no ice, no rain as the day lit up

Woke at 0600 hrs, still feeling bitter about FraserBrown (The amateur mock-Solicitors) mucking me about.

WC’d, made a cuppa and took me medications, remembering to take the extra Warfarin. Then realised I’d already taken them last night – a good Whoopsidangleplop start to the day!

Took ages finishing yesterdays dairy off, the ages on Facebook catching up.

Several cups of tea later, I started this one off, then got missen ready to go to the Clinic – bath have etc.

Want to go feed the ducks today if I can get ready in time and the clinic visit is not too long like.

So I’ll gerrof and prepare missen then.

TTFN.

All ready, bus-pass, camera, clinic cards, wrapped up warm, stomach settling and off I go.

Off on the L9 into town.

Nottingham pavement cyclists were rampant today.

I wondered down into the City Centre and wondered around for a bit taking photographs as I waited for the time arriving to nip up to the clinic.

The Christmas stalls were attracting the attention of the local ladies.

This stall selling well overpriced ladies accoutrements seemed popular.

I wanted to tell the girls that they could get the same stuff they were selling for £5 and £8 from the Pound Shop around the corner.

The German food stall was busy preparing the food on a giant rotating dish in the middle of the stall. I must say it smelt lovely.

If I win the lottery later I might be able to afford to buy some of there meats.

I must be feeling a bit better methinks, cause when I saw the sign hanging up on the stall that said ‘Olde English sausages – the noticed the Robirch Sausages bag they had just emptied onto the grill, I  felt like telling them that Robirch sausages are Irish made, not English, mind you they are great tasting though.

I wandered up to the clinic and noticed more Nottingham Pavement Cyclists buzzing through the crowds and scaring some of the old folk. Swine!

I got there and handed me letter and card to the receptionist. She read them, frowned and asked me why I was attending today and not in January as is me usual appointment time?

“Because the letter you sent me” I says… “Told me to come today at 1245hrs!”

She glanced down at he paperwork again, tutted and said nothing other than she pointed to the benches and commanded me to take a seat. Which I did.

As I waited I thought how lucky she was – if she was to lose her job through being thick, arrogant and uncaring, she’d walk into a job with FraserBrown pretend solicitors, fit in perfectly she would! Hehehe! Bitter still, Me?

A lady with a wonderful smile called me into the treatment room and was most helpful and understanding. (She wouldn’t stand a chance of getting  job with FraserBrown We-hate-Clients Solicitors at all)

She even explained why they cannot replace me inner plastic bit that went discoloured. She said it so nicely I was happy they hadn’t done it just for the opportunity to talk to her.

As I left someone else was getting an earful from the receptionist, who I think noticed me smiling at this? Oh dear, I hope she’s not on duty in January, she might remember me.

Another Nottingham Pavement Cyclist nearly got me as I walked through town on me way to the Canal to feed me ducks.

Outside a pub on South Parade an ambulance was collecting a customer and gently getting him in the bck of the ambulance.

A police officer got in with him?

On down Wheeler Gate I plodded, more pavement cyclists but they were too quick for me to gerrum on film.

I walked through the Broad Marsh shopping centre and called in the DVD shop to have a nosey around.

They didn’t have owt to tempt me with though.

Along to the Pound Shop, where I got carried away. Found they had just two pairs of the fingerless gloves with matting on the inside left, these are great when your fingers freeze, cause they help me keep hold of whatever I was holding at the time the fingers froze… if yer follow me like. So I got them, then saw they had tinned steak so I got one of them, a pair of long socks and a stylus pen for using on me mobile.

Then poddled to the Heron Store and got some bread.

Out and across the road to the Canal bridge… where a group of youths stopped me and asked if I was local, each had a clipboard and I said “Are you?”

It could have got interesting as I noticed the sneer coe on his face and the others closed in. But the traffic lights changed then and I could not hear what he was saying o wandered off pointing to me hearing-aids. Wonder what they wanted, survey or selling summat I suppose?

Got to the bridge and it was getting late, so I thought I’d drop the bread down off the bridge to the ducks.

I was amazed that there were so few birds there today. A chap stood watching me told me they had done a cull last week, he saw them doing it.

That’s not nice.

I wandered back into town to catch me last L9 bus.

Getting busier as the day went on in town it seemed.

There are now three saxophone player street artists on the stretch of road from slab square to the mall.

I thought I’d caught one in the photo above but missed him. You can see h equipment on the floor on the left though. (Failed again!)

Plenty of traffic about as I approached the bus stop.

Got on the bus and at a later stop the chap form the 4th floor of the flats got on and we had a little natter.

Nice chap, he’s the one who usually tells me a story from his passed, but didn’t today.

Got in WC’d, put me bits away, made sure I’d got the right medications ready and laptop on to update this load of waffle.

Got me nosh ready. Frikadellen, pulled pork balls, sweet potatoes in batter, beetroot in vin & orange, baby carrots and bread thins.

Followed by a banana, mandarins in orange jelly – there was to be a pot of orange yoghurt as well, but that had gone sour when I tried it, uergh!

After much hassle getting the DVD to work on the telly – I fell asleep watching it.

Kept waking up in between weird dreams, until 0300hrs when I had to go to the WC to tend to normal functions and clean up ‘Little Inchy’ who had got excited and started to bleed all over me. More flaming washing to do again! Tsk!

Inchcock Today – Tue 13 Oct 15: Housebound thanks to Wilko – Must remember to thank em!

Tuesday 13th October 2015

Up at 0415 – straight to the porcelain – usual bleeding front the and rear. Cleaned missen up.

Kettle on for a cuppa, took me medications.

Today being the day for me Wilko order to arrive at the flats – and that’s all it is guaranteed to do – as the lady who I spoke with from Wilko said it will be up to the courier driver whether he/she will take the goods upstairs for me or not, as apparently they do no have insurance cover for using the lifts?

I emailed Deana Walker the Obergruppenfurher for the flats with a request that the caretaker might keep an eye out for the delivery and assist me getting me stuff up to the flat in the event that the driver is unwilling to.

Got an interesting Automatic email in return:

It informed me that she is on holiday Monday 7th September returning to work on Monday 14th September?

It is October innit?

Confused now.

Twixt 12 > 1400hrs Asda should be delivering.’

So, as I don’t know the number for the shed so can’t ring them, I rang Deana’s mobile – no answer, no voice-mail. Assuming I rang the right number.

Can’t go out to ask anyone to pass on a message or go to the hut in case the delivery should arrive and they call me on the intercom?

In a building with 200 other residents and so alone at the same time. Hehe!

Ah well, I’ll get some graphics done then, oh, I’ll make another cuppa first.

Frustrating day and I’ve only been up for five hours…

Started doing some graphicalisationing.

Email in from Wilko, telling me that Night freight had despatched four parcels, and will update me further if needed?

Asda delivery arrived. Not much in it today, but got some seasoned fries I’m looking forward to later.

Had a Pot Noodle for nosh, added some Marmite to boost it a bit.

Tried to clean the draining board again, but it’s too scratched and not nice to look at. Tried the expensive Fairy Deep cleaner on it, no good.

No signs of the Wilko delivery yet.

Back to creating me graphics.

Got some done ready to use later when I get me Duncan post done.

Made a cuppa nd took me evening medications.

Getting hungry now, but don’t want to waste me food if I cook me chips and the Wilko delivery arrives. But will it? Getting on now, nearly 1700 hours… will it arrive… ♫ Dang dang dang dang! ♫

Well, gone 1800hrs and no Wilko delivery.

I’ve emailed enquiries at Wilko to inform them. Tsk!

Disappointed to say the least, a wasted day!

Got me chips and pork thingies in’t oven cooking.

Took medications.

This nosh was grand.

Rated it 9.2/10.

Head down and so disappointed with the Wilko Non-delivery

TTFN all.

Inchcock Today Wed 7 Oct 15: Wet in more than one way today…

Wednesday 7th October 2015

Up at 0405hrs, WC. Not feeling too bright this morning.

Haemmorhoids bleeding badly, dizzies early, Little Inchy sore and bleeding. Anne Gyna giving me a bit of grief.

On the brighter side the Reflux valve is a lot easier, and Arthur Itis not too bad at all in the legs or feet and only some twinging and stiffening in me hands as yet.

Recalled bits of a dream: Ladies in a big room, lots of ladies, all ignoring me as I ran around sticking labels with ‘Best before’ dates on the arms? I found myself in an office filled with purple coloured furniture, curtains and wallpaper, I knew this despite the dream being in mono? I was laying out desks and chairs and putting a pencil, spoon and an aubergine on each desk…

Made a cuppa and took me medications.

Got me togs ready for the laundering session and went down to the laundry room. Met a Scottish lady from the first floor and had a chin-wag when he came in to start her laundering session.

Got the washer going and back to the flat. Had a cuppa and started this diary, then back down to take the washing from the machine to the drier.

Met the Scottish gal again.

Got the drier going and then back to the flat again.

Updated this again. Then back down to collect me washing from the dryer.

Brought the washing back up and ensconced it snugly in the airing-cupboard.

Made a cuppa.

Updated this diary, then finished off yesterdays diary and got it posted off to the web.

Morrison’s came and went, put the stuff away then got ready to go out to an Aldi store, to see if they have any Frikadellens on sale for me to try, so I can compare them to the Lidl ones I had for nosh last night.

I really did enjoy them – and a write up about them on the web says how healthy they are compared to burgers and sausages too!

Called at the hut on the way out, no one there so left some nibbles for them.

Caught the L9 bus, after an entertaining gossip with some of the other residents of the Stalag… no flats.

Took a photo for the bus window as we turned into and down Gordon Hill.

Got into town and I walked in the drizzling rain to the Aldi store. They had some Frikadellens in, but they were smaller and lighter than the Lidl ones, so I didn’t get any.

Walked over the road and through the Victoria Centre.

The rain coming heavier now and the wind got up.

Hobbled down into the slab-square in the City Centre.

There were some stalls there again, but with the rain they belting down not many people were inclined to stop and buy owt!

I popped into Primark and bought yet another cap, another waxed one and put it on in an effort to avoid getting too wet on me way home.

Made me way passed the Chilwell and Beeston bus stops to Queen Street and waited for the L9 bus to get me back to the flats and out of the rain and wind.

Had a dizzy-spell at the bus-stop. Must remember I thought, to take me BP when I get back home. (Nice work that, home).

Took a photo from me seat on the bus, of all the buses surrounding the bus… Hehe!

No signs of falling asleep on the journey back to the Woodthorpe flats either today!

Rare that recently!

Got in the door and made hurriedly for the porcelain.

Did some spontaneous sorting out on the clothes racks, but got it all wrong and gave up when another dizzy-spell appeared.

That reminded me to take me reading so  did:

Sys: 88 Dia: 64 Pulse 74: Temp: 31°. I’ll ask the nurse when I go on Friday if these look okay, I forgot to ask her to look at me readings last time I went. Well fancy that Tsk!

The rain was still persisting down.

Decided to get me nosh early in case the dizzies persisted.

Had the easiest to make, but some Rosti potatoes in’t oven to have with some bread, made two sweet loin sandwiches and some beetroots, followed by a pot of mandarin yoghurt.

Laptop on updating while the Rostis warmed through.

Got the mobile in me hand to call Steve from Age UK and he called me!

He’s calling for the £840 for the house clearance man tomorrow – that is providing he had got it done by then – so with luck, once I pay-up we can start getting the house on the market. Good job I had professional help from Steve in getting somewhere to live and the old place on the market – it’s only took him 4 months to get this far. Tsk! (Now now Gerry, no bitterness please! Hehe!)

Made sure the money was still there and I’d not forgotten where I put it like.

Not feeling very bright again now.

Had me nosh, Rated it another 9/10, and fell asleep.

Woke an hour or so later and ran a bath, which I enjoyed apart from clouting me ankle when I was getting out.

Then made a cuppa and took me medications and updated this twaddle.

Nice view from the kitchen window tonight.

TTFN all.

Fri 18 Sept 15: Inchcock Today – Busy getting nowt done. Tsk!

Friday 18th September 2015

Woke 0610hrs, again distorted but not uncomfortable, in me brown chair in which I fell asleep reading me book.

Cramp free night again!

Thoughts of me dreams were noted down.

I pondered on the day ahead – by now I’d learned not to make many plans for it, as they usually don’t mature well. Hehe!

Still, here they are: See Deana to get help phoning the Council – then the dentist, then the Clinic to fetch me cream for ‘Little Inchy’, then see if the shop had any more of those tasty BBQ Firedogs in stock. Failed to get the Firedogs. Huh!

Cuppa brewed and took me morning mediations.

Laptop on, to the WC.

Me dreams were not good. They involved me amongst boats, barges, canal locks… People running around chasing, being chased, lost, aggressive and all blaming me for something, no idea what it was but extreme feelings of guilt prevailed throughout the dream. Struggled to work out how the boat worked – Lost a Thermos flask I recall – Realised at one stage I had no shoes and socks on when I was in an engine room, oily muddy water… then I was in a hospital and was drawing noughts and crosses on someone’s leg plaster-cast? – last memory was falling off a lock side into the murky water and bouncing off it?

Checked emails then finished off the Wednesday diary and got it posted.

Got missen and the things ready for me day ahead, and set off on part one of days missions, to the Winwood Community shed, as Deana knocked on the door!

She got on t’phone ans sorted me election registration out for me, bless her, and she’s on her own at the moment, cause Obergruppenfurher Julie is off work due to he mother passing away. I thanked her and gave her some nibbles.

Checked the flat (Taps, windows. plus etc) and set on on e walk through Woodthorpe Park into Sherwood and the dentists.

The usual welcome was given, ” Take a seat and wait!” was barked out in true Concentration Camp fashion…, so I took a seat and waited.

After a short while of me having a go at me crossword book a lady barked “Chambers, Chambers…!” I made missen known: “Go to treatment room 3, yes!”

So I hobbled up the stairs to treatment room 3 and waited.

An assistant came in and moved me to surgery room 1. Where I noticed they hadn’t yet mended the tear in the surgery seat, or mended the split in the sink either.

Another lady came in later and moved me again, to surgery room 2.

It was interesting at the dentist today anyway.

The dentist arrived and was very pleasant as she dug the pain-killing injection into me gum with a smile that reminded me of Margaret Thatcher’s.

After a bit of drilling and prodding she got the filler into what was left of me tooth, then set about making out the bill for me after asking if I felt alright, followed by a forceful ‘Yes!’

I nodded my ‘Yes’ in reply.

During these exercises I noticed there were 27 insects in the lamp-holder on the ceiling. I considered telling her about this when I could talk again – but decided against it.

Then remembered she had told me about my needing an extraction last time, so bravely I asked her about this. She looked at me with a frown and asked me which one, after failing to find it on her computer. I pointed out the offending tooth and she said “We’ll have to do that next time then, ‘Yes!!!” I agreed.

I pointed out that it was beginning to hurt sometimes when I ate…

“You can call if this is the case and it gets too bad… Yes!”

By now I was a bag of nerves. Not due to the pain or bother, just of her commanding voice! Hehe!

She presented me with a bill for £89 – and i pointed out that the bill she gave me last time for today’s treatment was for £32.50?

She checked on the computer and she said this total included the money for the general check… I told her I’d paid that already as demanded by the receptionist on my last visit!

She checked again on the computer – “Oh yes that is right, You pay £32.50 today! Yes!!!”

So I hobbled down the stairs and paid me £32.50 to the receptionist – very confused now!

She made an appointment for next time asking me if I have any preference for the day – I said no problem, any day bar a Monday please, as Mondays are my INR Warfarin blood checks and clinic day.

She made a date and gave me the print-out and estimated cost – it was for Monday 7th March 2016, with an estimate of £32.50 costs.

Boldly I mentioned that it was for a Monday, he said nowt but pounded away on her machine and gave me another appointment slip for Tuesday 8th March, with an estimate of £51.30!

Now totally confused I left.

Caught a bus across the road into Bulwell. Where, despite visiting many shops I could find no FireDogs or Blackcurrant ice-dream lollies.

However on arrival in Bulwell, I got a loaf of bread fed the Mallards and pigeons on the river Leen this along with the earthworms I’d taken with me for them.

Then I walked along and called in the Pound shop to see if they had any of the lavender disinfectant in stock, they hadn’t.

Not an overly successful day up to now.

The Market place looked so unlike a Market place.

No bartering or anything that you expect form a market at all – the goods were crap and not cheap as well.

I walked down to the other shops in search of some Lavender disinfectant and/or iced lollies without any luck.

The place was teeming with Mobility Scooters with drivers who were not really safe.

Mind you, Bulwell has the highest number of registered disabled folk in the County.

I caught a bus into town, to have a look see for me Lavender disinfectant and/or blackcurrant iced lollies – again without any luck. Hobbled (Painfully now, me knees and feet were playing up bad) to the shopping mall. Then back into town.

Where a small group of protesters in front of the Council house attracted the attention of the police.

As I made me way to the bus stop, some more police were seen going into Primark I think, most likely to arrest some more shoplifters.

Caught the L9 bus back to the flats.

Part way there, going through Carlton, a chap with two others got on the bus. The big one of the two others, obviously a pupil from the nearby Rosehill Special School sat next to me and nearly crushed me. I know something of the problems these men and youths have from me security days when we did the alarm responses for the school.

One one occasion after the monitoring station had informed us an activation, the police contacted me to say they thought it was an old pupil who’d broke in, he’d been moved to Birmingham, and had somehow escaped from his parents care to go back to the school, where he was so happy. No bad intentions on his behalf but we must take care as this lad know no pain physically and has been known to be violent. They were transporting the parent to the site as they were the only people who had a modicum of effect with him. It hours, and they had problems convincing him to leave – we did want to try and force the lad as he and we would not be aware if he got hurt. Hell of of night that was.

And i think this bloke crushing against the window was this lad, although obviously now he was a bloke.

Any-road, when it came to my getting off the bus – the bloke would not acknowledge me or make way for me to get off the seat or bus.

I remembered his Christian name and used it as I tried gently to convince him and it worked. The chap in charge of the two bloke was very impressed.

Although one Herbert sat at the front got a bit het up and swore at him and I and the carer tried to explain to him about the blokes problems to no avail.

I got off and made me way to the flat, feeling so upset for the affected bloke, who never spoke.

Got into the flat and more mail, one for the last tenant one for me. The one for me cheered my up tremendously I can tell yers.

It was from a Cyber-friend in America.

It offered support and empathy of my situation.

I like to thank her most deeply. I was touched by this, that anyone would go to the time, cost and effort to support someone so far away I found fantastic! Thanks a million gal! XXX.

This made a bad day, a good dayall on its own.

WC’d. Got the laptop on to start and finish this diary off.

Made me nosh.

Polish Sopocka, new potatoes, sweet beetroot, apple, tossed red peppers and mushrooms, last of me cheese cubes, wholemeal bread with caramelised red onion relish. Followed by a jelly and fromage frais.

Still had trouble nodding off despite feeling so tired?

Stomach churning.

Wed Sept 16: Inchcock Today

Wednesday 16th September 2015

Morning View – Just before the rain started

Up at 0620hrs, got lots of sleep in last night and can’t recall any dreams.

WC, no bleeding from Little Inch or the rear end. Super!

Took photo from the kitchen window (Above).

Finished the Tuesday diary and posted it.

Asda order arrived delivered by a polite but wet driver. Who warned me of the weather. Bit of bad luck, the  folders I’d bought were not the type I thought and no use for what I wanted them for. Tsk! Also the substituted some goods again with stuff I didn’t really like!

Put me stuff away – freezer and fridge now really bulging!

Took rubbish to the chute at 0800hrs, started this diary off and decided to go to town and pick some folders of the type I need from a Stationery shop, will try to catch the 0930 L9 bus into town.

Had a wash and shave and put me big coat on cause of the threat of heavy rain to come.

Walked to the Winwood Community shed but no staff there again.

Back to the reception and had a chin-wag with some of the residents. Caught the L9 bus into town, using me precious free pensioners bus-pass of course.

Dropped off the bus and walked in the drizzle up Goosegate and down into the City Centre.

The café’s were putting out their chairs and tables for the rich to come and eat later – I say this because the nearest one to the camera had a sign outside telling us  all of a Special Offer on between 1000 and 1200hrs this week only! Buy any £15.00 ($23.20)! portion of their seafood-pizza and get a second one for half price!

I walked on through the Slab-Square where I came a cross a frightening sight… 28 Nottingham ankle-snappers with only 7 people on guard duty with them! Hehehe!

The CPO (Community Police Officer) on duty in front of the Council House soon moved away into the building when he saw these arriving – mind you he was probably just warning those inside to hide their wallets and get ready for a physical onslaught?

Down Exchange Walk and into the Stationery shop – got a folder thingy that holds 30 files so that should do me for me sorting and storing on me documents.

Up back into the city centre, just as a tram was at South Parade platform and another coming into it from the other direction.

Observe the Nottingham shoplifters never-changing attitude to moving traffic and the rules of the road?

That reminded me, I haven’t had an answer to the email I sent to the local police about Nottingham Pavement Cyclists yet – wondered if I will get one eventually?

I sneaked some seeds to the pigeons on me way to take some Bling photographs for the TFZ gals.

These new crop of young pigeons are nippy yer know.

Missed again… Tsk!

As I got towards the corner with King Street, I looked up at Little John the council house clock to check the time for me catching the bus back to Woodthorpe Court and noticed some stonework for the first time, so I got me new camera out and zoomed in – a bit easier to get this shot than the pigeon earlier Hehe.

Great to be able to get a shot like this from so far away with me new Panasonic Lumix 570 with 30 x zoom. Just showing off a bit here, sorry.

Still never ceases to amaze me how the masons managed to get it all in place and for it to stay there for so long?

Not to mention the artist who had to sculpt then first.

Walked up King Street to the top, plenty of time to catch the bus, so I stood on the corner hoping for a good camera shooting incident – and I got one too – not what I was hoping for mind:

A Post Office Van drove up the hill and turned of the road… on the zebra crossing onto the pavement! You can see his wet tyre marks where he drove off the crossing! Then he parked in the middle of the pavement and went into the Post Office presumably to collect some mail?

Not that he had much option I suppose, it’s a nightmare parking anywhere in Nottingham City Centre nowadays – unless your driving the Lord Mayors Jaguar of course.

I got a parking ticket one Sunday when I was responding to an alarm activation!

Caught the bus and didn’t nod off! Yes! Didn’t nod off! It was close mind…

Got in and hunger pangs tingled so I got me nosh early.

Hot dog sausages, apple, tomatoes, some delightful sweet cooked beetroot by the Lincolnshire Beetroot Company via Asda, not cheap, but excellent taste, garden peas, cheese cubed, bread thins and some mushrooms and red peppers that I’d marinated in olive oil. Where and how the strawberry cream cakes got there I can’t imagine.  Had to force missen to eat them…

Wash me pots and then got sorting through the bags and box’s in the bedroom to find any paperwork so as I could collate it with the pile in the front room, ready to sort them into their relevant wallets like.

Two hours later, and I’d only worked me way through a third of the bags in the bedroom – not even thought about getting to those in the living room! Tsk!

Made a cuppa and took me medications.

The usual rained and weariness came over me. I feel terrible cause it really looks like I’ve not got owt done – despite me bestest efforts. With the files and wallets laying all over waiting to get sorted the place looks worse than this morning now… Huh!

The postman cameth… one for Margaret the previous tenant and two for your truly.

One the INR test results and one from the Nottingham City Homes. Telling me to qualify for the Responsible Tenant Reward I need to:

  • Pay me rent on time (Direct debit)
  • Keep me annual gas safety appointment (Although the place is all-electric?).
  • Behave respectfully, not cause any anti-social behaviour or be abusive to staff?
  • Keep my garden or balcony tidy
  • Not cause any damage to my home (As if!)
  • Have been a tenant since 1st November 2014 (That’s me out then!)
  • Be registered to vote at this address

A leaflet about ‘My Big Birthday Bash’ Fun for all the family? Free Lunch Graffiti artists? Bouncy Castle! Gardening workshop and much more! I see…

Another leaflet: Nottingham City Council and Nottingham City Homes would like your views about whether we should join the Rental Exchange. It means that we’d share your payment history with Experian, unless you ask us not to, but it would only be accessed by companies when you give your permission. If you are a good rent payer we think it would be beneficial. (To who?).

We will consider all feedback and views of tenants overall before making a decision on whether to support participation.

Let us know what you think.

I filled it in and went to the Post Box calling at the Winwood Community shed en route – all locked up of course.

Posted the from off returned and sent an email to Deana asking if she could assist me with phoning the Electoral place about me not hearing owt about me being on the register at this flat – at her leisure of course and if she could find the time like.

Flipping wind is gerrin’ up out there now.

Managed to lose me SD card from the camera – I took the card out of the laptop to take the photo of the letter, went in t’kitchen to put kettle on but could not find it anywhere when I returned – Whoopsiedangleplop of sorts. Spent ages searching, but… no luck! I had to use one from another camera. Tsk and Huh! Lost the photo’s now! Cobblewangledrip I am!

Started to worry about things all of a sudden.

My confidence has gone into the ether.

Still awake at 0200hrs. Tsk!

Wed 9 Sept15: Inchcock Today – Whoopsiedangleplop once again, Tsk!

Wednesday 9th September 2015

Woke up at 0410hrs in the chair where I fell asleep last night while watching TV.

Think I had some amazing dreams, but nothing concrete could be recalled – just a feeling of frustration?

WC’d, made a cuppa and cleared up the food wrappers at the side of the chair – Tsk!

Took me medications and cleaned up bleeding ‘Little Inchy’.

Laptop on and yesterdays dairy done and posted, started this one off.

Did some graphic work, Facebooked a while and then got on with trying to sort one of the dozen of giant bags that need sorting. Got me trays I bought to see if they fit into me 1967 cabinet etc.

Decided to get a bath and pretty myself up and hope I feel a bit better.

Had a super-soak, got me bus-pass, the Panasonic Lumix with the view-finder camera etc ready for me mission.

That was to go into Arnold and see if the shops there had any jackets with plenty of pockets in them. Then get some photographicalisationing done in the Nottingham Arboretum. Then see if the shops in town had any jackets with plenty of pockets in them.

Had a natter with some other residents at the bus-stop, then caught the bus into Arnold. (Oh that pensioners free-bus-pass is so appreciated! I wondered if Duncan had used his yet?) No jackets suitable in those shops, so caught a bus into town.

Dropped off on Mansfield Road and walked through the Arboretum. Some humans in the grounds but I didn’t see any animals to photograph on me way through and down to the pond come lake.

But there, were my favourites there – pigeons and mallard ducks, although not many mallards today.

Got me seed and fed them and took some photographs as they jostled to get theirs first.

I think that it’s amazing how mallards and pigeons get along, even when food is on offer, without squabbling with each other.

There were a lot of young ducks in the pond this afternoon.

I walked on down to the West gate entrance/exit and onto Waverley Street.

As I approached the gates I noticed a bee was jumping from one flower to another to get some nectar I assume.

He only stayed on each yellow flower head for a few seconds before he was off to another, he really was a busy-bee! Haha!

I tried several times to catch him with the camera. Later when I got back to the  house and laptop and downloaded the pictures from the card – only one of the shots I took came out decent.

As I walked into town there were several Nottingham pavement Cyclists as usual – this one was on the pavement despite there being a cycle lane on the road? Ignoramus!

Up the hill and down into the City Centre.

They had some Foreign food stalls in the slab-square again.

A German BBQ stall that only had sausages on offer, the usual Indian, Chinese and a Spanish stall amongst the non-food ones.

I walked down Wheeler Gate and called in two stores in search of a suitable coat, but neither had any in.

Came out of the second store and sneaked some seed to the pigeons.

Walked back up and into Primark in case they had some jackets suitable – of course they didn’t.

I was after one of those sleeveless ones with no end of pockets all over them.

Caught the L9 back to the flats – and I reckon I must have nodded off on the bus five or six times, and was lucky in waking when I did not to miss me stop! Huh! It doesn’t seem to happen so often on the diesel buses, but almost every-time I go on one of these electric powered ones in the afternoons. Wonder why?

Got in the flat and got me nosh cooking. I purposely made a little less this time as part of me new determination to lose some of the weight I’ve added to me belly since moving into this flat and getting a cooker.

Laptop on and updated this diary while it was cooking – had to nip to the WC and when I opened the door – the heat that hit me was lovely – I’d left the wall heater on from when I got out of the bath earlier. Made me realise how cold it was in the rest of the flat.

Got me nosh, cleverly put it in a smaller dish to fool myself into thinking I was eating me usual dollop like.

Boiled spuds, cubed spuds, tomatoes, roast parsnips, carrots onions gravy and braised beef. The roast parsnips were delectable!

Followed by a lemon yoghurt and Fromage Frais, no crisps to follow and no chocolate or biscuits either… yet!

 OH DEAR OH DEAR!

After eating I started to clean the pots and kitchen like…

As the point of the knife stuck in me finger…

I whipped me hand out of the bowl sharpish…

Stepped back and fell over the rubbish bin. Luckily as I went down only the side of me head hit the counter.

I got up okay though… swore and then saw that the tiny wee cut on me finger could only be located with great difficulty, it is that minute! Tsk and Humph!

The bruise on me head is coming up nicely though.

Got me INR Warfarin Blood level results in the post. 4.7, very high, that means it is too thin, so less chance of having a blood-clot but more chance of bleeding to death – Hey-ho.

Rubbed some cream on me lump on me head, Cortisoided ‘Little Inchy’ and took me medications. Took extra antacid for me ulcer and stomach.

Noises coming from somewhere now, but can’t pinpoint em or work out what is making them? Sounds like crumbling concrete to me… oh, it’s stopped.

Couldn’t get to sleep – turned on the telly and listened through the headphones. Tried to nod off again… Read some of me book. Tried to get to sleep again, kept waking up regularly. I think it must have been around 0300hrs when I finally got off.

Woke up around 0530hrs. Humph!
