Thur 16th July 2015: Hot water… at last! Whoopsiedangleplop! Busy busy day!

Thursday 16th July 2015

Got a good dream filled 6 hours kip in last night! (Not that I can remember much of them, just gallows, many witches and me drowning)

Woke up with a start again – mind racing…

‘Got to meet Pete 1000hrs at his bus-stop in town’: Can’t do that, I checked the buses last night, first one at 0930hrs doesn’t get into town until 1008hrs.

Fretted a bit over the bills that had arrived.

Must get back for 1230hrs as the maintenance man is coming to refit the door lock twixt then and 1630hrs. Will I have time to get me things done – wanted to get some hearing aids from the audio clinic, call in Jessops to get help with me camera and get some bread… Something will have to be missed. Tsk!

Delighted when I made a cuppa to take my meditations and found that I had hot-water coming from the taps.

Had a bath and wash-up. during which I found: The wrist bruising is much less now (Not that that stopped me banging it on the cupboard door twice like).

The ‘Little Inch’ was so tender and had been bleeding again.

The cancer wound was itching more than ever.

Me knees wus having a visit from Arthur Itis in a bad mood.

Anne Gyna was giving the usual signals that she does sometimes before playing up. Oh dear!

The haemorrhoids were tingling a bit, but very little blood.

The usually sticking-open Reflux Valve has sank back down a bit into me chest – not sure what to expect now – it very rarely does that?

Hey-ho!

Put some baked beans in a bowl and marinated them for later on: A little touch of mild curry powder, half a teaspoon of English mustard, a sprinkle of Worcester sauce, a splash of vinegar, a spoon of unrefined demerara sugar and a few sultanas.

Made another cuppa, the first one went cold. Pondered on me repair jobs upcoming: Today: the locks being changed. Friday: Kitchen vent being repaired. Monday: Kitchen cupboard being repaired. Tuesday: Store Room checked for safe to use situation. Thursday next: Draughts in Kitchen to be assessed. Wed 29th: Smoke Alarm checks… on and on… And along with the many already set and expected weekly medical appointments it’s no wonder I’m a confused little Nottingham Lad. Hehehe!

I wish I could stop me mind racing fretting and unendingly (Now there is a word one doesn’t type very often! Just a thought – plenty of them bouncing around in me confused mind at the moment) banging away.

Laptop on and started this diary, checked emails, got this posted.

Got the things I’ll need for the meet with Pete. Bus-pass, timetable, notes of what needs doing (Not that will get done anyway),  nibbles for Pete and Jane, camera, mobile phone… bet I’ve missed summat out.

DSCF0122Put me alarm on me new little £3 clock to remind me when it got close to time to get ready fer bus to meet Pete. Natty little clock Did a bit of Facebooking. It’s got a little tiny light on it to the left of the face so I can find it in the dark… hehe!

And it tells me written on the box that it is Recyclable too.

Went down to the lobby and had a go on me crossword book, some residents arrived and I managed to get a little nattering done with some of them.

Dean Walker (The Heroine of mine who found me keys the other day) came in and was so busy. She handed me the new lock that was to be fitted to me flat door later, replacing the excellent one already fitted?

Caught the bus L9 in to town and met Pete at his bus stop, timed it just right for once.

We went to the Jessop camera store and a young man was very patient with me and showed me how to clear the grid I’d managed to get on the screen. He said the photographs were already being saved at the smallest available to these cheaper-end cameras. Humph! Hehe.

We plodded up the hill to the Audio Clinic. Gawd me feel and legs were hurting summat rotten by the time we got there! Agonomy it wer!

Got me batteries and some tubes for me hearing-aids. And we strolled down the hill into town.

We walked down St Peter’s Street. A quaint looking old street indeed.

Pete took a photo of me near the Noshery, with a view of the old street in the background.

Not many folk on it nowadays, it’s used more as a cut-through than anyone actually shopping in it nowadays.

We went into the slab square.

Where I spotted a crow manipulating a discarded bag to get into the contents. Much impressed I was too with it’s dexterity.

I wonder what it was in the bag that attracting him/her to work so hard to get at it?

I left Pete and wandered up to the bus-stop to catch the L9 to the flats.

When it arrived, I put away me crossword book and went to get on – Whoopsiedangleplop time again! No bus-pass to be found!

The bus pulled off and left me feeling a twit and searching me pockets for the pass! I knew I had it when I got to the bus-stop… repeatedly searched me multitude of pockets without any luck.

Then, noticed it laying there on the pavement. I know I’ve said this before and will again no doubt – Wot a plonka!

Actually it turned out okay, cause I realised I had time to get a bus to Carrington and get the meters read for the gas and electric, and collect a bag of stuff to take to the flat, so maybe it was good that I didn’t get on the bus to Sherwood?

dropped off in Carrington, no yobs about, and made me way to the dump.

Someone had filled me bin with rubbish bless them.

Got in and down the cellar to record the meter readings and wrote them down!

Then had a search round for things I could manage to carry in me bag back to the  flat. Got some hearing plugs, paperwork to sort later, a blanket, some trousers, cutlery and socks.

Some mail had been delivered – including me INR test results.

Later I called the doctors about this – as they told me over the phone yesterday (Unless I miss-heard them) that my next appointment was for Monday 27th at 0915hrs. The hospital record card said it was for the Monday 20th July?

She initially said yes it was for the 27th – I pointed out the QMC results I got through the post to the old house  said the 2oth.

She then said she would change it to Monday 20th at 0950hrs – but I had two appointments on that Monday with the repair men coming. I explained this but they had no free appointment for the time the repairmen were here… Tsk!

So she made it for the 21st on Tuesday – now I’m going to get letters e-mails and phone calls from the Anticoagulation at the Queens Medical Centre about missing me Monday appointment and I’ll have to explain everything to them again! If I can remember all this then like.

Got me bags, not too heavy if I wasn’t going to walk a long way with them and made me way to the bus-stop and caught one into Sherwood.

Me feet and knees were really bad now.

In Sherwood when I dropped off bus, I walked up the hill to the bus-stop going in the opposite direction. To see if an L8 bus was due so I could avoid the slog up the hill on Winchester street wiv me bags like. No, 40 minutes to the next one – so I painfully struggled up the hill to the flats.

Quite proud of missen when I got in the flat. (Smug mode adopted – mind you the cramps will get me tonight for all me hill climbing – Hehehe!).

I WC’d and made a cuppa. Put me bags in the living room and set about sorting the paperwork. What a grind that was.

Laptop on and updated this diary of Woe.

Looking out for the locksmith chap…

Cleaned the bathroom with me new ‘do-as-it-wants’ expensive mop. Talk about streaks. Huh! Might have been me mind doing summat wrong?

Waiting for the worker-chaps to arrive to do replace the flat door lock.

Got an email from the GP surgery telling me I had an appointment on the 29th with the surgery nurse at 0930hrs? Well, that’s the day that Swift’s are doing the Smoke and Fire alarm checks. Int life complicated sometimes! Huh, Tsk and flippin’ ‘eck!

The locksmith chap arrived and put the new lock in – took him about three minutes. He gave me two keys and toddled off.

I tried to clean the frame of the window in the kitchen – even tried scouring pads, but not good. The decay and ground in marks ain’t ‘avin’ it!

Put me beans in the oven to bake em a bit more with the veg pastie and two sausages. Doing them slowly, don’t know why mind.

I found a photograph what I took today amongst the ones I knew about that I’ve already posted – but this one is a total mystery to me?

The only thing I can think of, is maybe either the Jessops man or missen took it while he was showing me how to select and deselect the grid option on the camera… perhaps. But I don’t know really. Have you any ideas please? Ah well!

Nosh in’t oven not quite hot enough yet. Tested it by opening oven door and sticking me finger in the beans. I like the taste of this recipe, must write it down for later.

Ah, ready now, excuse me while I get it down me neck.

8.5/10 for this, it was great tasting!

I decided I’d go out for a walk like, and take some photographs of the park and call to see BJ.

When I left the flat – the new door lock would not lock!

Hellfire damnations and huh! – a Whoopsiedangleplop not of me own making this time!

I went down to the lobby to find the number required from the lost on the wall and a lady told me to dial ‘O’ on the internal phone to get someone to talk to about it.

So I thanked her and did like.

The chap at the other end (Couldn’t hear him 100%) I told him about having a new lock fitted today and he gleefully said “Who fitted the lock, it’s in your tenancy agreement you can’t do that without permission!”.

I told him City Homes fitted the lock and he said no more on the matter. He then told me he’d contact City Homes and get back to me about it.

So, I’m updating this diary while I wait.

“Whistling tunelessly and picking my nose now…”.

“Scratching me bum now…”

Too late for me to go out now and see BJ to look at the bed he had in mind for me.

“Washed the inside of the microwave while waiting…”

No one rang back, but a chappy-fella arrived and got the lock working working. I asked him what the problem had been and he said sometimes with these locks when you install them you can push the outer-lip out a tad too much. So when you use the key you must press and hold it in and not pull at the key when it is in the lock.

Very encouraging that. The old lock I was happy with but officialdom deemed had to go was never any trouble. Be interesting when I come to use the key when me arthritis is playing up… oh I’m fed-up!

Got another City Homes pretend maintenance man or men coming tomorrow as well. They or he or she is coming to mend the broken Air-vent in the kitchen.

Well past my bedtime now, so no Facebooking tonight.

Such a tiring day again.

Woke with a start – dream fresh in my mind: I was running on ledges outside sky-scrapers being chased – I was wearing yellow day-glow tea shirt and long-john underpants – I felt young… then I was stood in a long queue at St Peters gate reading an electric wiring leaflet for toasters, although it was written in French? – Mmmm?

Take care all, cheers.

Sun 12 July 2015: Vicious draughts and the Perspicacious Visitation from Duncan

Sunday 12th July 2015

Up at 0415hrs. Reckon I got a good six hours kip in or thereabouts.

Nippy this morning – Brrr!

I stood a moment looking out of the kitchen window and felt severe draughts coming from the corner.

I felt around and located where they were coming from – no wonder I can’t get rid of me cold is it?

Took me quilt and throw from the kitchen into the bedroom and made a cuppa, got this laptop on and took a photo of where the draughts are coming from mainly. Including out from the draw and cupboard. Doctored it with arrows indicating the worst of the draughts this morning in Coreldraw X7.

Bits of memories of dreams I’d had come to me and I wrote them down:

Vaguely recall long queues at an ice-cream stall on a beach, people wearing rain coats hats and had umbrellas but it didn’t seem cold and wasn’t raining… I was not in the queue but hid in some sand dunes with some binoculars and a giant flask of tea, each time I poured a cup I fell into it?

WC’d, little Inch bleeding again, and the haemorrhoids joined in. If the wrist bruising doesn’t get any better, I’ll mention to the nurse at me INR blood tests tomorrow. Huh!

Made a cuppa and took me medications.

Still early so I did some Facebooking and checked and replied to me emails.

Did some graphicalisationing on Coreldraw X7 – getting used to it now – it’s the Serif Draw X6 I can’t get me head around.

Although the hot water wasn’t really hot enough to run a bath – I did. Had a quick shave (Yes, I cut missen again, under the chin this time fer a change like). Used me new non-slip mat – bit messy getting it fitted each time to use it and it really is not big enough, but there you go – hey-ho!

As I lay there for a few minutes, aghast at how me body was deteriorating like, I espied many paint splashes on the bath taps and sink from where I was – I counted them bit gave up at 100.

When I got out and started to cut me toe nails with great difficulty and pain, I spotted that painter had also spotted the wall heater  pedestal toilet and all the accoutrements with paint as well.

I miss Paul the painter yer know – but his memory will linger on for years… or as long as I last like. Hehehe!

Cleaned up the bathroom, got me togs on and made another cuppa, back on this laptop to update while I wait for Dunc’s arrival.

It’s still cold here this morning – I can see the trees a-swaying violently outside.

Did  graphic for Mike Steeden to use – involving Claret and the drinking of it!

Went down to meet Duncan and he arrived a few minutes later.

Went to greet him in the car park on the front. We got the chair out and up and ensconced in the flat in no time.

Dunc’ showed me how to sit in it the chair without falling out of it. Hehehe!

Gave him a chance to say his fond farewells to it like. Haha!

We had a jolly good chin-wag that I enjoyed immensely.

Duncan here as he peruses the state of the place for me… good egg he is yer know!

Dunc’ brought me some seed and meal-worms for me pigeons, curried beans, Marmite crisps… I thought it was Christmas! Very decent of the man, and a decent man he is too!

After much talking and nattering, Dunc took a photographicalisation of me as I couldn’t resist trying the swivel chair he had kindly donated to me.

Duncan took a photograph of me as we were on the windy balcony, trying to escape it seems?

I managed a weak smile as I clung onto the bird repellent meshing.

But by Jimminee cricket it were so windy and cold out there.

We soon returned back inside – Brrr!

A swarve Inchy has his first trial run in his new swivel chair, tended over by Duncan acting as his Carer. Hehe!

I tried to look casual in the photo, yer know relaxed, cool, at ease – so I battled to get me legs crossed and put on a convincing ‘I’m in no pain’ expression as I showed-off in me new chair ta Dunc had brought all the way from Birmingham just for me.

Dunc had to help me uncross me legs afterwards like – oh the pain! Hehehe.

Much laughter stories and anecdotes later, when it was time for Dunc to travel back to Birmingham, I thanked him for his kindness and support and then: !!!

Not me this time – Duncan!

Thank heavens the keys were there!

Could he find his car keys – No!

We got down to his car, where he thought they may still be in the ignition. Thank heavens they were there!

Thus proving that Dunc and I have a natural affinity! (If that’s the right word?)

I’m not saying what it is… as if I needed to?

Waved Dunc the Lad off. Sadly.

Decided I was hungry enough to have a decent nosh today when I got back inside the flat.

So, updated this diary and then got me lamb and veg nosh with added roast parsnips and some of Duncan’s curried beans wot he’s brought me prepared for demolishing.

Tiredness and weariness suddenly overcame me, I could do nothing but savour the taste of the nosh and relish the memories of Duncan’s visit.

Took me medications, and got me head down – but I kept waking up every few minutes it seemed for some reason?

Gave up at 0120hrs and rose made a cuppa and updated this diary.

So weary and tired, but content despite worrying about all the things that needed doing that weren’t getting done.

Cheers folks.

Sat 11 July 2015: Inchcock Today – Whoopsiedangleplop encountered!

Saturday 11 July 2015

0540hrs: Out of the kitchen window – Wonderful!

Up at 0500hrs: Mind racing trying to remember what I had to do, I knew there were some important things that I didn’t have time to do yesterday. But could I find the list wot I wrote yesterday?

No!

The skin cancer wound was itching like mad again, the little Inch had not been bleeding so much thankfully, Anne Gyna was a tad bothersome, Arthur Itis not too bad yet. Ulcer okay despite me having had me chips last night, the hernia playing up, but with all the lifting I’ve been doing I sort of expected this.

Had a dizzy spell when I got up and moved the quilt throw and jammies into the empty bedroom. Bit bothered about this, I don’t usually get them early in a morning?

Probably all the hassle and worry about so many things to get sorted yet and no progress being made.

At least it’s weekend now, so I should have time to get some things done without appointments.

Duncan, a cyber-mate is coming on Sunday to see me – not only that, he’s bringing a swivel chair he no longer uses for me! That is really kind of him and appreciated. Lifted me this news did. He said he’ll be here early on Sunday – I’m really looking forward to meeting him.

This will be the second cyber-buddy I’ve met. Lynton Cox (A grand bloke) came to see me at the flea-pit earlier this year, and we had a jolly good chin-wag and he helped me with advice and encouragement too. Another decent sort indeed a bit special my Cyber-mates are.

He treated me to a nosh in a cafe as well.

Made a cuppa and took me medications.

Noticed that the bruising on me wrist that no one seemed concerned about when I tripped on a lose kitchen floor tile and reported it to the City Home Obergruppenfurher, had got bigger?

They just may read this and feel guilty about ignoring me plea for the tiles to be secured? Or not like.

Hey-ho, I’ve glued it down now, hopefully.

I checked the bus time-table, there are only four buses to town on a Saturday. First one at

1030hrs. Last one back from town at 1505hrs. Still, better than a Sunday there are no buses on Sundays. Still, the pensioners free bus-pass is getting less use.

I keep checking the hot water situation, but it is not hot enough to have a wash in yet, let alone have a shave – back to boiling a kettle then later perhaps? Not good!

Made another cuppa and carried out the porcelain functions. No blood from the haemorrhoids.

So busy it’s unbelievable – I had hoped that when I got to old age things would settle down and be easier. But no, it’s more hassle and hecticness than ever before – can’t remember half the things I need to do, let alone get them done.

Still no hot water Tsk!

Did some Facebooking and started this blog off.

Put a photo of the bus time table on TFZ, here it is.

Eight trips to town on a weekday, four on a Saturday and none – yes, not any on a Sunday.

This will take some getting used to.

I thought about sorting the carpets out and then thought maybe best to get all the repairs out of the way first? I don’t know, feel so alone and useless at the moment.

So much to do and nowt much getting done like.

Not feeling too good now for some reason, feeling a bit queasy and light headed. Oh dear.

I decided I had time to make up some pots of medications – oh dear…

Just about half way through them and noticed as I counted each pot, that one of the morning pots only had 8 pills in it – worked out which was missing (Beta-blocker) and opened the cupboard above to get some out and Arthur Itis made me fingers stiffen and do their own thing and I knocked over the boxes that fell onto the open pots below that I’d just made up, spilling them all over the damned place.

Took me ages to sort them out, throw away the ones that had been on the floor and checked to see that the right pills were replaced in each pot. By then it was getting close to the bus coming time and I had to rush and have a wash and shave in semi-warm water – naturally I cut missen shaving again. Wot a plonka!

Got missen ready and things that I need (I hoped) for the trip in me bag and set off to the bus-stop.

I caught the L9 bus and enjoyed the elongated route it took to town.

No idea how the driver got it through the tortuous side roads it had to take.

The locals on the bus were in a chatty mood between them themselves – by the time we had gotten into town I was particularly worried about Enid and her arthritis in her left shoulder.

And Gladys was desperate to find and buy a tea-cosy like the one her mum had knitted for her in 1944.

A chap who’s name was not mentioned was running low on hearing-aid batteries.

I hobbled down Queen Street across the slab square and down Exchange Walk to the bank.

I asked for and got, some 20p pieces I could save to use in the flats launderette. Then had to see an advisor to get me address changed.

She informed me that I had got me security code numbers wrong on two occasions, and they had to be changed. Huh! If I couldn’t remember those how do you expect me to remember a new one!

Ah-well, she suggested if I had a new flat, I could use that number and the number of the old house or visa-versa. I was getting headache now. After much mind puzzling thought I came up with random numbers and just hoped I’d remember them. (Mmm…) we’ll see.

Left and went to call at the Jessops camera shop to ask them if they could show me how to change the size of photo’s stored on me card in the camera – but they were too busy.

I nearly set off to walk to the Audio Clinic – but being as keen as mustard and having a sharp alert brain – I’d only got half way there when like a shot, I realised it was Saturday. (Fool!)

So I poddled back down the hill into the City Centre.

Where I was glad to find the Nottinghomian citizenry had not lost their ability to ignore the red pedestrian crossing lights on Red.

I only saw two or three pedestrian cyclist in town today as well.

On me way to the Pound Shop I passed a couple of newly wedded personages outside the old Victoria Hotel, now named the Hilton Hotel on Milton Street.

I took photo of them so Mike and Shirley, or any other couple could do some reminiscing like.

The Jaguar E type they had hired wasn’t half stinking of petrol – a leak there somewhere there must have been. Even the shoplifters nearby where mentioning it – but the happy couple didn’t seem to mind.

I was a bit bonifate in avoiding a turbo-charged Mobility Scooter driven my an aged lady with gritted teeth and a stare on her face that said without sound “Move!”

got to the pound shop and got some bits I thought I might need – a strainer, two fresh air citrus bulb things that I can’t make smell of anything when I got back to the flat?, oven tray for me chips, laptop hoover, a box of tea bags, a mug and a little sewing kit. I ask you, wot a plonker! Buying a sewing kit with my arthritic hands? Huh!

So, onward to Tesco and got some bread thins. some individual long life Carnation milk pots in case I run out of milk again and some New Zealand apples. Nice they are, very juicy and crisp!

Had a while before the bus back was due, so had a plod around the slab square amidst the roller-bladers, skateboarders and shoplifters having a rest and bite to eat.

Caught the bus back to Woodthorpe Court.

Dropped off the bus at Woodthorpe Court and as I entered noticed the laundry had a free machine and drier – so went up and deposited me bags and took me laundry down to do. Cause hopefully tomorrow when Dunc’ the Man comes I’ll be busy like having a great chin-wag.

When I got in the room one of the washing machines had no water? So I used the other one. Not used that one before and it was different to t’other one and I last me money first go. Tsk! Tried again and got it right. Went into the foyer with me crossword book and had a chat with some of the ‘girls’ having their hair done in the next room.

Transferred the clothes into the drier, they seem to have been cleaned well and did me cross-wording again in the foyer.

Two police officers arrived and ran to the lift and up to a flat or other.

Hello I thought! Well, yer would wouldn’t yer like?

The officers cam back down and out to their car, looking very gloomy-faced?

I went out fro a walk as the drier takes an hour to finish.

I soon came back in sharpish – blimey the weather up ‘ere don’t half change quick. Talk about blowing a storm up, the wind was cruel! Mind you, they have given heavy rain out fer Sunday and Monday.

I thought the drier had done an excellent job again. Said me cheerio’s to the gals and made me way back up to the flat.

Put the togs in the airing cupboard – and put on the immersion heater as the water was cold again.

I opened one of the pound shop Air bubbles and could smell nothing at all?

Zilch in the aroma stakes!

I tried to read the instructions on the other one but it was impossible – the letters looked like dots they were so small. Huh!

Hey-ho!

Made a nice strong cup of tea, well mug of tea with the pound shop tea ‘D’ bags.

Laptop on and updated this tripe.

Found a good station on the internet – listening to Big Band Swing at the moment on there Jazz section.

Bloomin’ good stuff! and free!

Big Band Swing music classics.

Just made a cuppa and toyed with the lemon air freshener thingy again – I now have a lemon scented kitchen floor, slippers and trousers.

going to do some Facebooking now although it’s getting late fer me – I’m all excited about Dunc coming to see me.

TTFN.

Thu 9 July 2015: Inchcock Today – Oh dear…

Thursday 5th July 2015

Up at 0225hrs. Had to kip on kitchen floor on a quilt with throw over me and plenty of clothes on – Gawd it were cold!

Cramps were not so bad last night, and little ‘Inch’ was bleeding far less. Angina not so good, the wrist improving, reflux valve naughty and worried about what  the day will bring.

Cuppa and medication taken. Laptop on.

I got a nice comment from Kentucky Angel. It’s so nice that I have folk who show compassion and would be lost without them in these trying times.

Today is a bit of pressure, cause I’ve got two repair men calling – and hope that they arrive in time and get the jobs done for me to get to me emergency INR blood-level test at the Doctors. And I have utilities and bank to call to change me details. Also I’d hoped to get back to the old place so I can collect some warmer clothing and carry it back to the flat. Ah-well.

Where the hospital took the sample of skin cancer from is really itching this morning, getting harder to resist scratching at it. Hehe!

WC’d.

I’m looking forward to living a semi-normal existence and finding time to relax a bit – but not much hope of that yet. Tons of work sorting and anguish to go through before that can be achieved. So busy and frustrated with not being able to get things done. Doing this diary is taking up much of me time, but I love doing it so, and get such pleasure when people respond to it and I learn of others problems and admire the way they cope. Apart from one night, I’m not sleeping well at all, so doing the diary when this happens is not too bad.

Need to sort carpets out, rang Steve but no answer, well he is busy and has got many old foggies to tend to.

I need help with the paperwork and getting utilities sorted, but nothing seems to happen and I’m getting a backlog of things that are urgently needing attention. Steve Age UK has not been  answering my calls, and Age UK Wendora is only available on Wednesdays – she is a volunteer and I appreciate her efforts. This week nothing got done due to me not having the details that the utilities needed. I feel like giving up… oh dear, feeling sorry fer missen agen! Sorry.

I blame the medications yer know… Hehehe!

The maintenance/repair men coming today (I hope early) should be mending the cupboard and shelf under the sink.

I’ve emptied everything out ready for them.

Caretaker Robert is coming (I hope) to look at me cooker to see if he can connect it, he said he would source the wires needed for me. Thank heavens for some help, especially from people I hardly know. Much appreciated. Especially as I’ve got some oven chips coming tomorrow from Tesco (Then I can return the broken clock and crushed cakes they delivered last time – Tsk!). Looking forward to having them, getting withdrawal symptoms yer know – not had any for many months now… well, over a year really. I must remember at all costs not to do any when I’m tired – last time long ago I fell asleep and the cooker actually burst into flames. Oh dear bad memories!

0500hrs: Still a bit gloomy out there.

I’m in a bit of a depressed mood methinks? Worried about things not getting done that need urgent attention, and me mind is anywhere but where it should be at the moment. Poor old devil, Hehe!

I’ve got to get the carpets sorted out, but Steve not answering his phone (Hope he’s alright) I need him to contact an Age UK recommended supplier. As soon as the carpets are done, I can try to find an easy chair to get. It’s not nice not having somewhere to sit in comfort – the chair and cushion I got is not the most comfortable and if I nod-off I’ll fall off it! Ha-ha!

I’m going have a bath and shave now.

By gum that’s better – and I had the added entertainment of cleaning off the paint splashes the decorator left me with, better than a rubber duck. Tsk! hehe!

Did you notice the carbolic soap? A much underrated soap indeed. Fresh smelling and reminds me of the old days.

0635 hrs. now, all ready nice and early for the workmen to arrive – too early but still.

Noticed the bruising coming up again on me wrist, and the skin cancer wound becoming bothersome – maybe with my INR level so high and blood so thin?

I wrote the other day of how I likes this Virgin Internet connection – I take that back, kept losing it this morning. Tsk!

0920hrs – getting concerned that the men will arrive on time to do the jobs in time for me to get to me appointment at the surgery…

I took the letters that had arrived for the previous tenant to the shed and handed them to the Frau Obergruppenfurher Camp Kommandant – boy was she her usual bundle of joy!

I explained about the situation with the emergency INR tests and the repair men due. she said: Suit yerself, cancel them if yer want to! I sarcastically thanked her and made a hasty retreat to a safe distance and went back to the flat.

I ran into caretaker Robert on the way and told him of me problems and he phoned them, cancelled today and got another date for Monday 20th July twixt 0930 and 1400 hrs made for me.

I asked him about the storage sheds things and how do I get into them. He showed me the code and said I should have a key – which I don’t of course.

Got up to the flat, nibbled a cooked sausage, made a cuppa and went to amend the dates of the kitchen repair on me diary – then found at the same time I had a Cardiac appointment – Why is life so complicated fer me – I suppose it is for others but…. hey-ho!

Robert is going to see me later about sorting the cooker connection out bless him..

When I go to the surgery today I’ll mention it to the nurse. (Best laid plans are often thwarted by a bad memory eh?)

Got missen ready taking the reminder list with me and set off on me marathon walk to the old place and surgery. Must pick up paperwork and warm clothing, as much as I can carry back – not a lot there then.

Back in a couple of hours.

I’ve made it back…

Hobbled into Carrington and got some bits from the old dump – warm coat, sweater, some paperwork, batteries, underwear, socks, radio, attack alarm and cleaner.

Then went to the GP surgery and the nurse listened to me moans, took me blood for  the INR test. She was very kind over the clash with the Cardiac blood test and the rearranged kitchen repair team coming on the 20th, and said when she gets the INR results for today’s test with the next appointment date she’ll let me know and try to do the Cardiac at the same time. Bless her cotton socks!

Limped back into Sherwood (The bags seemed inordinately heavy?), for some reason.

Up Winchester Street and back to the Woodthorpe Court flats.

I wus well shattered by then.

Got in put me things away and the paperwork to sort out later.

Made a cuppa and updated this monologue.

Listened to radio 3, nice piece of piano music on.

1450hrs: Robert should be here soon.

Got the paperwork sorted that I got from the old place – I hope they are the one’s Glendora wants?

Cleaned some more splattered paint off the sink area – how come I couldn’t see it before?

Barry Took is presenting a radio show on Radio 4 Extra at 1600hrs called ‘Guess What’ a revival of the old animal mineral or vegetable quiz show. Should be interesting if I can get to listen to it.

Robert turned up, tool bag and thick wires in hand and set about doing the cooker fitting for me.

Much banging and swearing later he’d finished fitting it – and covered the smoke detector with a carrier bag and masking tape (which luckily I had brought with me to the flat this very day!)

I gave him a tenner and some DVDs and he seemed content. Off he went telling me as he left the flat to leave the smoke detector covered until I use it fort he first time tomorrow.

I nibbled some polish sausages with a cuppa and got on with this diary.

The wind seemed to have dropped a bit and a while after I took this photo the sun came out and I squinted as I passed the window and I Whoopsiedangleplopped me good foot on the edge of the cooker – very nearly swore I did. HeheI decided to go out for a little walk into Woodthorpe Park and take some photographicalisations of the place.

I’m off now again – back in a little while (I hope).

Back sooner than planned… I’ll tell yer about it…

Off I poddled to the lift and down to the ground floor.

Feeling okay at this stage of the expedition.

Passed the locker room, hairdressers and laundry room.

Out into the daylight.

Very warm in the sunshine, not many folks about around this area.

Feeling okay at this stage of the expedition.

Had a little ponder on which way to go, and decided the Muggers Alley was not suitable, left was the way out to Winchester Street – so went straight ahead and up the stony footpath hill that all the doggy walkers, skateboarders and scooterists use.

Up to the top and over to the brow of the hill.

I avoided the interests of a Scottie-dog who seemed to take a dislike to me.

Down the other side were several pitch and putters having an evening round of mini-golf.

At this stage me feet and legs reminded me of the marathon walk I’d already done earlier – cor blimey were they stinging. Tut! Thought I’d make it a short walk in that case.

As I turned to look back I took a photographicalisation of both blocks of flats, the nearest being Woodthorpe Court, the far one Winchester Court.

The night was really warm, well the sun was just like yesterday, until it went in the wind got up and it turned so cold! I expect the same tonight.

I thought thinkingly… if anyone is likely to get a golf ball belting into his head, now who would that be? So decided to walk around the course and got over it.

Then as I started walking – and boy did it come on quick like – the urgent need for the use of the WC arrived, so back down the track to the flats fast as I could… Tsk!

Just made it in time, close, but I made it.

Laptop on to complete the diary.

I was thinking about the Warfarin situation and whether or not or how many I should take tonight – and at that time the surgery rang to inform me. None tonight – 2 Friday – 2.5 Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed, & Thurs. Next tests?

I hope the NHS have me new address to send the readings to.

Got me nosh ready fer cooking later.

Any guesses what it is?

Ah… the toilet beckons again…

Oh dear!

Mon 4.5.15 Inchcock Today

Monday 4th April 2015

What a good sleep – got up when I sprang awake at… 1010hrs!

Early Morning Sky (Well late morning really – Tsk!)

I reckon I got six hours in. Vague memories of me dreams but nowt in detail. Tsk!

WC’d – then went to make a flask of tea – but found the flask leaking – oh dear!

Made a mug and a pot of porridge.

Did me BP: Sys 157 Dia 95 Pulse 100 – but couldn’t find me thermometer to take me temperature?

Laptop on and set about doing me LOMM entries for last week like.

I’ll have to get out and buy another flask – and call at the shop in Victoria Centre to get a prod-pen thingy to use with me new phone soon.

Feeling nervous again for some reason today.

Washed, titivated, medicated missen and set off to the bus-stop with me free-pensioners bus-pass. Being Bank Holiday there were few people about and the buses were running less often.

As I walked to Mansfield Road (with no pigeons coming down – probably because I was later than I usual?), down Church Drive, the beauty of the scenery caught me eye, and I put down me bag to take as best a shot of it as I could.

On to the end of the road and then went back to collect me bag what I’d left on the pavement. Tsk!

At the bus-stop I was about to take a photo of the beautiful skyline and realised here I was on a main arterial Mansfield Road and there was no traffic to be seen – not even a pavement cyclist! I turned the camera onto the road to catch this phenomenon in the warm sunshine.

Moments later I took another photo as the obviously held up traffic came over the hill.

There was quite a wait for the bus – not that it mattered to me – I got up so late today – and with finding so many things I’d lost or misplaced I knew things were not boding well and resigned myself to waiting while whistling away to myself.

A lady came to the bus-stop and I greeted her with “Good morning, nice weather for the Bank Holiday” – She gave me a look that made me wither, tuned up her nose and tutted?

I thought “Oh dear”.

It was fun cramming together on the over-full bus, but at least the driver left no-one behind.

As I was spewed out of the bus by the overzealous passengers in a hurry I caught my composure, avoided being hit by a burk of a Pavement Cyclist and went into Victoria Centre to go to the MansWorld shop to see if they had one of those pen-swipe multitool gizmos in stock.

I got one and a USB Charge & Sync cable – why I got the USB Charge & Sync Cable I have yet to find out – it seemed a good idea at the time. But why?

I took a photograph of the Boost stall as I was passing above it.

Not only was I amazed to see so many customers fraternising the stall, but the fact that they had 5… yes 5 members of staff on duty surprised me muchly?

I really must try one of their fruit drinks one day.

As I walked on I noticed a group of youngsters on the ground floor.

They looked well ensconced of the floor with their i-pods?, food and drinks.

Well laid back they reminded me of the Hippies of old, bless em.

I plodded along the top floor of the mall, taking a photo of some ‘Bling’ fer the TFZ gals en-route to Boots.

Down through the store to the bottom level of the store and started searching for the thermometers.

Perhaps a good 15 minutes later I found a member of staff to ask the locations of them and she kindly led me to where they were situated.

As I departed from Boots (£10 lighter) it dawned on me how busy it was everywhere today.

In the old days Bank Holidays were for relaxing and recuperating.

Nowadays it’s the shoppers delight – me included.

Mind you, if I hadn’t lost me thermometer and storage drive and broke me flask I wouldn’t be here.

I hobbled into Jessops store and had a look at the drink flasks they had to offer.

The second cheapest (the one I bought) was Thermos brand made in China – but then they were all made in China.

I’m hoping this £20 one will last longer than the £8.99 one made in Italy did – which was about 3 months before it broke inside – I can’t remember dropping it?

As I went to leave the mall – I took a photo of the newly refurbished area.

I thought how clinical and characterless they had made it look.

Drab, lifeless despite the many Nottingham shoplifters… I mean

Nottingham Shoppers there were about.

I walked over the road to the Trinity Square and found the citizenry in a more relaxed mood as they actually used the new food court.

The skateboarder were out in number here.

Then I plodded down Trinity Walk and took another ‘Bling’ photo for the gals on the TFZ site.

These are actually mobile phones in a store window.

Loved the owl one with the buttons on the outside they were second hand but I could not see any prices on them?

Down to the bus-stop and joined the marathon queue and waited patiently for the bus to arrive, while listening to  he others in the queue gossip away.

I hope the girl in the leather jeans who was speaking to a lanky youth with acne and a girl with her ear rings in her lips managed to persuade her parent to get her the ISO 8 she desired. Whatever ISO 8 is like?

While waiting for the bus to arrive I took a photo of some wonderful office buildings on Queen Street.

These have real character and great design features – I wondered when the council would be getting around to pulling them down too?

The bus came and somehow we all crammed into it and I was soon back in Carrington – and the yobs were lurking and drinking on the seats in the twitchell again.

So I walked the long way around back to the flea-pit.

WC’s – a bit of blood but nowt to worry about from the rear end exhaust.

Set about preparing me nosh fer the night.

A Beef pastie slice, tomatoes, garden peas, cooked beetroots and the best of the lot – seasoned herb small potatoes in olive oil. Followed with a vanilla mousse, Strawberry & vanilla ice-cream pot, a blackcurrant ice-cream lolly and a Cox’s apple!

By gum, I enjoyed this.

Fell into ‘A grumpy old man’ sleep afterwards for a couple of hours.

Tried the new thermometer – 34.2c

Laptop on, and took me medications later than planned – the new flask seemed to keep me tea warm enough.

Finished this Diary off – despite of me shaking then cramp ridden hands.

At 2230hrs I was determined to get some sleep in.

0215hrs, still determined to get some sleep in…

0255hrs, still determined to get some sleep in…

Fri 1/5/15 Inchcock Today: Reminiscing

Friday 1st May 2015

Woke at 0730hrs with a jump – almost in a panic and didn’t know why?

The sky looked daunting this morning.

WC’d – no bleeding from the hemorrhoids, but the lesion in me Inch was dribbling blood and very tender and the boil was annoyed when I cleaned meself up and caught it!

Took me temperature 31.1c – Forgot to do me BP tests – Tsk!

Went down and made a flask of tea.

Pulled the bins out for collection.

Took me medications and applied me creams.

0745hrs: Laptop on and started this diary. Opened Coreldraw to do the header for it.

0834hrs Got the header done and on. Coreldraw9 froze on me and I had to start again – Huh!

Did a bit of Facebooking then got myself spruced up and ready to go on a walk into Nottingham City Centre in search of some Bling’ photographs for the gals on the TFZ site.

The weather had brightened up.
Again some amazing patterns in the clouds this afternoon as I left the bomb-site.

I called in the Co-op on me way and got some bread-Thins and Jam Doughnuts.

On me hobble into town I was nearly assaulted by various Nottingham Pavement Cyclists – it’s getting worse than ever now.

This one with his back-pack was particularly dangerous due to the speed he was belting along at I thought.

No sooner had I belatedly took a photo of the animal and a few hundred yards further on another one came belting passed me swerving all over the pavement en-route.

Getting a tad nervous now as me ankles were worse, much worse than usual and my agility – such as it is, was much impeded.

About half way up the hill and as I stopped to take a photo of the trees in the Rock cemetery from the other side of the road, I gave such a sneeze – and this shook even me – that one of me hearing-aids fell out.

Painfully I bent down to retrieve it.

Then yet another Nottingham Pavement Cyclist came passed – I think this one just might have been a touch tiddly.

The immature yob-hoody lookalike who was obviously so tough he was too scared to cycle on the road was gong all over the place – a straight line was not in his vocabulary today.

Maybe he thought he was on the road?

Who knows eh!

Up to the top of the hill and down into town.

When I reached the junction with Woodborough road I kept me camera in me hand, a this is a regular spot for the inconsiderate unconcerned nonchalant nasty nihilistic Nottingham Pavement Cyclists to appear on me walks into town.

Today though it was one of the Councils electric powered mini-street-cleaners that nearly hit someone (Not me, the bloke in the picture – who was not pleased at all).

I plodded down onto Milton Street and faced the prospect of getting through the maddening crowds on Clinton Street.

I managed to get through unmolested to the back of the Council House.

Slipped some seeds to the dicky-birds.

As I passed some people on the Coffee Shop seating I realised that they were all drinking out of giant size mugs and didn’t seem to be enjoying the drinks really.

I wondered if it was addictive qualities of coffee that make folk pay £3 a mug like and still not be happy?

That started me reminiscing about the old days when around the corner from where I was, used to be a Cafe where coffee was four old pence and tea three old pence a cup and we enjoyed it?

I was so deep in me memories that I nearly walked into a tree – luckily nowadays me rate of knots was slow I managed to avoid this at the last second. Huh!

I crossed the road and went down Bridlesmith Gate.

No street musicians, no Big Issue sellers and no yobs about in the area today – good that.

I did notice a shop selling ladies shoes had a special offer on some of them… ‘Save 40% on the latest design footwear’ the sign indicated.

On a closer inspection I saw the ladies could get a pair of crocodile high heel boots for only £299 in the Sale – £299?

Crickey and blimey!

To the end of the street and facing the entrance into the sad Broad Marsh Shopping Centre I took a photo and started to reminisce again…

All the retail units that used to be their now closed down.

Worse still, the wonderful Drury Hill this medieval street was destroyed to make way for this doomed shopping mall – a crime if ever there was one by the Nottingham City Council the Banks and the nihilists in charge at the time!

They should be brought back to life and flogged!

Swines!

I went in and had a look around the 99p shop. I got a microwave dish and some bikkies for the nurses amongst other bits.

I walked down and through the pathetic centre.

A stall was selling mobile phone accessories and I asked if they had any for the Nokia Lumia – he did at £9.99 – which was much better than the £25 they wanted at the EE shop, so I got one.

Out the other end onto Wheeler Gate and up into the City Centre.

Plenty of street musicians and entertainers around this area – Muslims pushing the Koran and trying to convert peoples, Christians pushing the Bible and trying to convert people, Opinion surveyors stopping people (Mind you, they see me hobbling along and never seem to bother me?).

Up through Exchange Walk and into the slab square.

No CPOs around today – the cut-backs I suppose.

Around passed Primark and up Clumber Street – right and up onto the Walk-over to take a photograph from a different angle of the traffic.

I say different, but nothing seems to stop the suicidal Nottinghamians from crossing the traffic lights against the signals.

I carried on over into the Victoria Centre and had a gander around the market – gad it is so sad there nowadays. Closed stalls, un-fresh produce at high prices with owners who are likely to cut yer fingers off if you have the cheek to even look like your about to touch ‘Their’ fruit and veg on display, which is not the fruit or veg you get served with, they come from behind and under the counter of course.

Another Nottingham Pavement Cyclist minging with pedestrians on Upper Parliament Street.

I limped on in some discomfort now – the knees have join the ankles in a mutual effort to make Inchcock hurt. Hehehe!

I went into Tesco – and what a mistaka -to-maka!

I spent a small fortune.

The Pork Loin, the Polish Chicken Sausages etc were all too tempting for me.

So, along with the bread and doughnuts from the Co-op earlier, I’d got cooked sliced beetroot, Japanese Rice nibbles, Pork Loin, Chicken Sausages, New Potatoes in herbs and butter, Cox’s apples, tomatoes and a much lighter wallet.

Tsk!

As I left the mall, I espied a single Robin in the centre.

Poor thing seemed confused.

I hope it finds its way out safely?

I departed and walked up to Trinity Square.

There were many more fold about there today, but none of them seemed very happy.

I took a photograph of some ‘Bling’ for the girls at the TFZ on Facebook during me walk today – Broad Marsh, Vic Centre and in Kings Walk.

This one on the left was me favourite one.

Pearls in reality as the girls on TFZ are also Pearls in reality.

I poddled down and caught a bus back to Carrington. (Long live the Free Pensioners Bus-pass!).

Got back and WC’d, applied some more cream on me lesion.

Oh how I dined!

Tesco New potatoes – 10/10

Strong Amsterdam Cheese – 8/10

Tesco Vine Tomatoes Dutch – 8/10

Tesco Sweet Beetroot shredded – 7/10

Rocket – 8/10

Polish Chicken Sausage – 9/10

Co-op Bread Thins – 6/10

Cox’s Apple (Tesco) – 10/10

Co-op Jam Doughnut – 7/10

Marvellous, and I watched a DVD ‘A good Day to Die Hard’ while I ate it – I bet the Queen didn’t?

The Polish cooked chicken sausage was excellent.

Fell asleep.

Woke up three hours later disorientated and wondering what time and day it was.

Laptop on and updated this diary – during which a nasty dizzy spell visited me.

Took me ages to get this done.

Take care all and thanks fer reading.

Thu 30.4.15 Inchcock Today – Feeling Ficulnean

Thursday 30th April 2015

Oh boy whadda dream!

I was back in uniform – TSM Hopkinson was there as well as Lynton Cox, Gaz Hoadley and Clivey Danton, the last three being Internet cyber-friends and others unknown – I seemed to be the opposite of what I was, a competent fully trained RAMC medic and I could not get the wounded Gaz and Clivey to stop moving long enough that I could apply dressings to their wounds – the TSM kept interfering and wanted me to use a mixture of bleach and Guinness to treat the lesions on them – I think we were in an underground train station somewhere? – Lynton was CO and brain surgeon kept asking if he could have the brains yet, I insisted he waits until they are dead – the TSM chipped in “We’ll make dosh out of this mush – help em on their way Private… – Lynton was getting impatient and suggested I give them each a crossword to do? – Suddenly we were all in an aircraft and Gaz and Clivey were in parachutes all ready to jump and when they did I jumped with them but didn’t have a parachute on, Gaz caught me in mid air and said “Told yer your memory will be the death of you didn’t I?… found myself in a rest home on a porch leading to garden and some gravestones – Lynton appeared in a white coat and I asked him who were in the graves, “They are political promises” he quipped and laughed as he swigged from a bottle of gin and toppled over onto a settee falling on a cat?

Seemed so real this dream did.

WC’d – plenty of blood to clean up from the piles and the Inch – Tsk!

0715hrs: Moved down to make a flask of tea and pot of porridge. Took medications.

Flipping nippy this morning, been raining now drab and dour – still windy.

Took me BP: Sys 176 Dia 79 Puls 78 Temp 33.3c.

Couldn’t find me pay-as-you go mobile – I was sure I had it yesterday?

A search ensued: Bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, all me clothes pockets, nooks and crannies, and I got missen all worked up… I hoped against all odds that I would not have to go through getting a replacement again…

A mental ‘Ping’ went off in me head – I checked the inside pocket of me jacket and there was the mobile – Phew!

Relaxed a bit now I had me almost cold porridge and a cuppa.

Started the laptop as the angina started playing up. Huh!

Coreldraw9 crashed – Corel Paint Pro crashed and I was well fed-up now!

Restarted laptop again – started this Diary.

Did some Facebooking.

Ordered some stuff from Iceland.

Ordered some American Pulled Pork and bean hash that looked nice. ‘Cooked Diced Potato (38%), Water, Cooked Pulled Pork (15%), Black Eyed Beans (4.5%), Kidney Beans (4.5%), Sugar, Tomato Paste, Black Treacle, Modified Maize Starch, Barley Malt Vinegar, Worcester Sauce, Rapeseed Oil, Caramelised Sugar Syrup, Mustard Powder, Smoked Maltodextrin, Garlic Purée, Salt, Smoked Salt, Dextrose, Ground Black Pepper.’ being delivered Saturday morning with the other stuff.

Kentucky Angel suggested I loaded up with nosh in case the weather forecast is right and we have snow coming at the weekend.

Did a graphic of Patti Beckert at her easel painting with her radiant smile.

Got missen cleaned up nicely and got the stuff ready for the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop to take with me on a little walk into Sherwood this morning.

The sky was a site to see this morning.

I set off up the road, fed Fatima and Fred their breakfast and hobbled onto Mansfield Road.

Up the first hill and the sky was even more picturesque than earlier.

Just over the top of the hill I passed a block of large old houses that Sister Jane used to live in – she had a flat with Pete there when they first got married – by gum that wer a long time ago.

Harold McMillan was Prime Minister then I think!

The sky here caught my attention once again – the different shades of grey blues and whites intermingled and ever moving – a bit like me innards today? Hehehe!

Down the hill I tried to photograph  pesky Nottingham Pavement Cyclist… but did it so quick it turned out I missed him but managed to get the old chaps head who was at the pelican crossing, and informing the rat-bag of a Nottingham Pedestrian Cyclist of his disfavour at nearly being ran into by the nerk!

I limped down to dip near the library and popped into the charity shop there to see if they had any books in I might fancy. Not sure why, because I’ve currently got Spike Milligan, Tony Beever and the Quintinshill Train Disaster books on the go?

They didn’t have any so I plodded on passed the library and noticed the trees having their leaves and branches blown all over the place in the wind.

The sky still dark with fast moving clouds.

Onward up the hill and the aroma from the take-away noshery tempted me to get something – but I resisted, knowing I’d still got one lamb shank and the pulled pork to consume back at the bomb-site.

Up to the top of the hill and the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop.

I handed them me carrier bag of bits and we had a natter.

As I was walking back down the hill approaching the bottom, it dawned on me that maybe BJ might have found me mobile that I’d lost in his car.

So I called at his house and he was in luckily. I explained the situation and he got his car keys and came out to search the car – it took a while but he did find it under the passenger seat.

I explained the sim had been cancelled but I wanted to take the new one out of the new Nokia Lumia because I couldn’t cope with the new type of touch phones and put it in the old phone. After I get to be advised by Brother-in-law Pete on how to operate it I should be okay.

Funny how I can recall all the stuff I learnt years ago – but recent additions to me education fade?

Anyroad – neither of us knew how to open either of the phones to change the batteries. Sad innit?

But all part of life’s rich tapestry and cruelty!

Had two dizzies while at BJs.

BJ offered to run me home, I thanked him for the offer but didn’t want to hassle him any more and I was feeling fine then, bless his friendly foibles.

Poddled back to Carrington and WC’d. No blood from the Inch or rear-end – but found a new boil – Huh can’t win can yer – Tut!

Made me nosh and a flask of tea – feeling  weary again, it seems to come earlier each day this… Tdk!

The pulled pork was alright, the sauce with it very good – the BBQ beans and Co-op bread thins were okay.

sTried watching a Hustle DVD but kept nodding off – decided to get me head down – but could not get to kip. Grrr!

Put some Adam Faith old songs on YouTube and listened through me headphones while doing this diary like.

Since starting the dairy – I’ve been summoned to the porcelain four times already by me innards – was the pulled pork dodgy? Oh dear.

Occasionally it can get you down like – no freedom from pain of some sort or other in me old age. If it ain’t Arthur Itis or Anne Gyna it’s the skin cancer growths or the duodenal ulcer, the boils or bleeding Inch, the hernia or the dizzies, the hemorrhoids or the ear drums, the ticker valve or… I’d better stop I’ll depress missen… Hehehe!

I really shouldn’t complain, there are so many people worse off than me. I feel guilty now.

Came across this photo that Jane and Pete sent me.

Love him to bits I do!

Bless him.

Brother-in-law Pete emailed me to tell me I could go to visit them on Sunday 1230hrs.

Emailed him back telling him I would like to – and get some help with the Lumia mobile, fuss Fooey, take their nibbles and have a chinwag.

Tired but no sleep yet.

Hey-ho…

Inchcock Today Wed 1/3/15: Nemo Mortalium Omnibus Horis Sapit – especially Inchy!

Wednesday 1st April 2015

I awoke thinking or rather trying to remember the dreams I’d had in me longest bit of head-down I’ve had for yonks – must have got although I kept repeatedly waking up and nodding off again, a total of 7 hours actually sleeping. I can’t believe how tired I still feel despite this.

First day of the new month eh? Did me ‘White Rabbits’ did you remember yours?

Went down, photographing the morning Sky as I did, and made a cuppa and cleared up a bit and make up a few pots of medication doses from the last of me supplies that were available to last me until next Tuesday.

Started feeling a bit chirpier after having me cuppa and getting going on doing this post – then the inevitable happened while ingeniculating, a twinge of gargantuan proportions emanated via Arthur Itis reminding me not to feel so happy, contented or confident again – I should have known better really – Tsk!

Still on the bright side Anne Gyna is leaving me alone up to now, the torn muscle is fully bearable, the reflux valve is behaving, the duodenal ulcer is fine and no dizzies. Only the haemorrhoids are joining in the attack with Arthur. There I go again, getting confident and opening me gob…

The INR Warfarin level test results were delivered – 2.7 now, much closer to me target now.

Did some Facebooking for an hour or two (Well four).

Had a ‘getmissenwashed’ session and got the bits ready for the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop and set off in the gloomy windy weather with em, the rain had long stopped. (Try saying that quickly when you’ve ‘ad a few – Hehe).

The wind hindered me progress as I walked into Sherwood.

I noticed a car pull up dead on the double yellow Bus Stop sign in the bus-lane outside ST John’s Church on Mansfield Road – the driver got out and collected something from behind in the middle of the road that he had lost or had dropped off his vehicle and placed it in the boot? Wonder what it was?

I plodded on up the hill and down into Sherwood then up the hill through Sherwood when I came upon the take-away food shop that did the nice roast potatoes. Although it was getting late I nipped in to see if they had any hot-food left.

Seeing they had just three portions of roast potatoes in trays I joined the three other customers in the queue – then realised I had not got enough money on me – Knockerbongoblow!

I nipped out and next door to get some, money from the Co-op cash machine.

Then returned to join the queue again, with just one tray of potatoes left on show – luckily none of those in front of me bought it and I was well pleased with getting it.

Of up the hill towards the Nottingham Hospice Charity Shop with the clothes and DVDs – as far as Wilkinsons when I realised I only got one bag in my hand and not the two I had earlier – oh dear… hobbled rapidly back towards the take-away convinced I must have left it in there. As I passed the Co-op there is was stood near the cash-machine – Lucky lucky lucky!

Saw a poster for a sale where they were selling a ‘Fire Opal’ necklace/broach at an auction: ‘Reserve Price Applied’ whatever that means.

But the I photo’d the photo as I thought it was so beautiful for the TFZ gals.

Onwards up again to the Hospice shop and had a little natter with the girls there, handed them the donations and a little bag of nibbles.

Down the hill and at the bottom I had to go into the road to get around a self-hire van. Then seconds after taking this photographicalisation of it – a bus had to come to a full stop as the traffic accumulated at the traffic lights to the left causing a queue of traffic as far as the eye could see.

But it allowed me to limp around the van into the road to get passed more safely.

Up the hill and down towards Carrington.

The sky suddenly brightened for a minute or so, then darkened rather quickly.

I could tell we were in for a drop of rain – and boy did we get it later… unfortunately the wind didn’t lessen any when it came, but again didn’t stay too long.

However I did get in the hovel and perched on the porcelain before it came down.

The pain from the rear continued but no new bleeding – that’s good.

Had a wash and reheated me potatoes in the microwave with a beefburger.

I used the remaining two tasteless insipid bland Asda cheese and onion cobs and had me nosh. Gawd those cobs are like cardboard, perhaps less flavourful even – Eurgh!

The rain started again – but the sun still got through at times – did a scan for a rainbow but none to see.

The famous ‘Inchcock collapsing time came and the sudden tirdeness crept in.

Took my medications early as I felt I could nod off at any time…

WC’d.

Ooh… nearly forgot to mention this, the pressure cushion that I bought yesterday and thought a bit expensive at £20 works a treat!

So for any other sufferers of haemorrhoids or Coccydynia,

here’s the photo again so you can know which one to buy – Ahhh!

Inchcock Today 24/3/15: Launderette Lust – Incorporating Inchies Worst Nightmare ever!

Tuesday 24th March 2015

Incorporating revealing the worst dream ever for Inchcock!

Bad night, took me ages to get off, then it was filled with the most unsavoury night of dreams I’ve ever had.

When I woke I found myself grabbing me pen and notepad and writing away making scribbling down bits of the nightmares – it was as if someone else was doing it and I was just watching the pen etch the jumbles words. I felt young again for a while as I read these notes later.

WC’d took my medications… and then make a cuppa – got the laptop going and deciphered my scrawl to record here.

My first thought was the end must be nigh and I’m being given the tip-off.

So many of my indiscretions, mistakes, humiliations, frustrations and failures seemed to have been in the nightmares. Some I couldn’t bring my myself to mention here due to the embarrassment. Many I had actually forgotten about and was coy about even thinking of them again. It was as if someone had selected all the worst parts of my life and made a movie about them.

My mistakes and failures with the girls, misjudgements at work and school even detailed painful memories of certain incidents seemed very clear, in fact clearer that they were at the time they occurred!

These regurgitated memories actually took my mind off the ailments until I visited the porcelain for the second time and the pain reminded me, then of course all the other things started to get noticed, Arthur Itis, Anne Gyna etc. Then things seemed to come come into perspective again – and I was old again, in pain and unhappy.

I wrote these bits down quickly and do not want to change them as they seemed to come from someone else? I hope you can understand them and how the nightmares made me feel – uncomfortable perhaps being the best description.

Reading them back now – they do not say anything concrete to me, but it felt like it to me, they just highlighted the worst parts of my life.

Most odd?

Immediately after typing in this bit of the diary, the sneezing started and seems set to stay with my, and it is painful for me torn muscle every time I cough or sneeze – what’s going on I asked myself? No answer yet.

Then I noticed the camera was nearby on the floor.

I took the card out and found this photograph – it’s dated for .yesterday on it – but can I remember taking it?

No.

I assume I took it to show the sky and it’s gloomy foreboding?

Still a mite ‘not-myself”, I did a bit of Facebooking.

Got the things ready and trudged down to the launderette. Mandy on duty and as usual she could not help herself in making a fuss of me.

Well, she ignored me a lot less than she usually does.

BJ gave me a lift to Asda afterwards.

After we did out shopping, the hail came down for about 10 seconds then stopped?

BJ ran me home and lifted me bags to the step for me. He’s not too good himself today, horrible painful cough.

After putting me things away I decided I would go for a walk again and poddled across to Nottingham Road and down the hill into Basford and back via Hucknall Road – a nice round route taking in a few hills to test and help keep me knees working.

The clouds kept changing from white to grey with great rapidity as I trudged on across Hucknall Road through to Nottingham Road, then the easy bit all the way down the hill aiming to turn off at Sainsburys and work me way back by another route.

But I remembered there was a new Aldi store opened next to Sainsburys (I didn’t really remember, I saw the Aldi sign hehe).

T thought I’d pop in and have a browse like, see if they had any Marmite stuff in stock.

The sky produced some more hail stones as I approached the entrance, but again only for a few seconds?

Odd weather this today.

The store was not very busy.

I poddled around and found some packs of herb seasoned new potatoes that were microwaveable at 89p a pack. They also had some Potatoe gratin at the same price so I treated missen to one of each.

The sky still kept changing from bright to glum every few minutes.

So, loaded with a bit of stuff in me bag, I started to walk back up the gradual gradient, gradually getting slower as I did, back towards the flea pit.

Through the housing estate and across onto Hadyn Road.

The sky again ominously dark and threatening.

Bit of a dizzy at this point, but it no bother, only lasted seconds then cleared up?

Onward, passing the roadworks and cafe where the stabbing took place last month, passing the repossessed furniture business shop I plodded on down the hill to the Hucknall Road junctions and turned right up the hill into Carrington.

As I did the sky brightened for a while.

Spotted me first Nottingham Street Art piece on the wall of some fencing near to the factory gates.

To the top of the steeper than expected hill, knees a-hurting, Anne Gyna a-stinging and regretting thinking this walk in the hills was not such a good idea after all. Hehe!

I turned into me street and was pleasantly greeted with a lack of apprentice yobboes lurking or any pit-bull owning neighbours out and about.

I got in the flea-pit exhausted.

I didn’t even put me washing away, made some nosh and a cuppa put the laptop on and fell asleep!

Sad innit?

Woke up 1830hrs and took me medications with some of me Trederwen Lemon and Lime Spring Water. (I mention this in detail in the hopes that Messrs Trederwen will read this Diary blog and send me some financial incentive to continue mentioning their wonderful product…)

Managed to get this diary finshed and posted.

Getting  tired and weary again now…

Inchcock Today: Amazing Nottingham Post Headline! – Sat 21st Mar 15

Saturday 21st March 2015

Woke in agony from the torn muscle – very disappointed with that, I thought it was improving too. Huh!

I suppose I must have sneezed or turned badly in me slumber?

No passings – on the porcelain yet despite two attempts, not passed for a day and a half up to now.

I went down and made a cup of tea then took me medications.

Popped out and took a photo of the sky in front of the hovel – very gloomy – just like me at the moment! Hehe!

Started this diary and then did me ablutions and applied me creams lotions and pain gel.

Not feeling too good, but decided to risk a little walk into town only, where I can get back sharpish in the event of any dizzies or worse.

The arthritis, haemorrhoids and ulcer all seem calmish, the angina and pulled muscle were competing to see which could give me the most discomfort.

Did a bit of graphicationalisationing for the TFZ on Facebook.

Not one of me best efforts I’m afraid.

Got myself titivated and prettified (What a challenge that was!).

Assembled the bits for the Nottingham Hospice Charity shop and set off on me walk to Sherwood.

The sky still looking a tad sad as I hobbled over the hill towards Sherwood – and noticed that there were few folk about for a Saturday.

A bit further on I came across some Nottingham Street Art in the form of a musical instrument box laid open (presumably it held a Clarinet or whichever instrument it held before being stolen and dumped).

Artfully displayed between a lamppost and a telegraph pole, laying open as a plea for humanity to be kinder to musical instruments and for the crooked elements of society to stop nicking stuff?

Hobbled on to the Charity shop and left me bits for them and then I caught the bus into town.

I wandered up through Trinity Square and took this photographicalisation of the row with food retailers with outside ‘have a fag chairs’ on their frontages – it was gone 1100hrs but many of them had not yet put out their chairs and seats – mind you, with so few more-money-than-sense Nottinghomians about, I couldn’t fault them.

I caught me reflection in a window of a shop (Scary that I can tell yers!).

I looked old, welmish and disabled. Having said that I am old, welmish and disabled and wondered why it should have shocked me so. Hey-ho!

I was looking for a window with ‘Bling’ on display to take a photo of it for the TFZ gals when I wondered down Trinity Walk and as I was zooming in on the ‘Bling’ a lady appeared.

I considered momentarily popping in and asking how much they wanted for her… not really!

I wandered down into the slab square where I intended to catch the tram to Bulwell to see if Fultons Foods had acquired any of me blackcurrant ice-cream lollies for me to purchase.

The Nottingham Post newspaper stall I just had to take a photograph of:

Murders, rapes, muggings, burglaries, unemployment, car crimes, benefit cheats etc were the things I expected to see as the headlines. What was the top and first headlines? “4 Free Toilet Rolls with your Nottingham Post!”

Made me think that did!

The slab square fountains for the kids had attracted one 20ish year old chap who couldn’t resist paddling through it fully clothed.

The market stalls were open again but few people were attending. Not surprising really, they were not offering anything different or any better value then anywhere else, dearer if anything – but the Nottingham Council has to raise money from somewhere for the benefits to be paid yer know.

I hobbled to the tram stop at the rear of this fountain photograph.

Arthur Itis and the haemorrhoids were being kind to me at this point.

Anne Gyna and the pulled muscle were making their presence known though Huh!

I remembered to swipe me free pensioners bus pass card at the station before getting on the tram.

Not many folk on it today, I had a look around and noticed that of the eight passengers on board, two were not on mobile phones… and one of them was me!

The tram soon filled up with noisy Nottinghamian’s.

When it arrived in Bulwell I nearly got caught in the rush of folk to get off urgently. No idea why, but they all disappeared rapidly once they did get off?

Surreal it were… hypnagogic!

I walked to and through the Bulwell Market – such a sad sight nowadays.

First port of call was Fultons Foods in search and hopes of getting some blackcurrant ice-cream lollies – no such luck. Tsk!

They did however have some ‘Hunters sausages’ at the ridiculously low price of 89p for a pack of 4 ready cooked ones. So I got myself a pack, and it was in-date too.

There were so many mobility scooters about it scared me a tad. I rested a while and watched them on and around the market – it’s amazing how they all managed to avoid hitting any one.

I made my way to the bus station and caught a bus back to Carrington.

En-route the sun did its best to break through the gloomy clouds and I took a picture of it through the bus window.

Beginning to get bother from the rear end now – but I think the Angina was easing – so swings and roundabouts yer know?

Dropped off the bus on Hucknall Road and limped down to the hovel, feeding the pigeons en-route like.

WC’d – Success on the movement department! Hurrah!

I made up me meal, Hunters Sausages, two baked potatoes, beetroot and garden peas… oh and a bit of pork pie with the crust removed – not the jelly of course I loved that. Hehehe!

Watched a DVD while I consumed me nosh…

Then fell asleep.

Woke just in time to take me evening medications.

Had a drink out of the flask (Tea!) and downloaded photographs and resized them and did this diary.

I phoned sister Jane to ascertain her and Pete’s health, and it was not too good for either of them, but they are still leading a good social life and that’s good for them. Not wanting to risk mixing our ailments it is frustrating not being able to see them.

Posted the diary then did some Facebooking.

TTFN all.
