After a rough nights sleeping I could recall some bits of me dreams: I was up in a gigantic crane cabin that had ladders leading from it to buildings around it… someone was at the other end of each ladder and shouting at me but I couldn’t hear what they were saying as I juggled the cranes grabber controls to try to pick up me hearing aids that were 30 odd floors below laying on bed of salad on a dish, that was on top of a Rolls Royce?… found myself in an office being interrogated by American policemen about something…?
When I got up to go to the porcelain I was well pleased with the lack of hassle from Reflux valve and Arthur Itis, although Anne Gyna was a bit niggling and I was coughing summat rotten.
After last nights dizzies and weariness, I was in good form this morning comparatively speaking like.
I thought I’d get me diaries done, emails, WordPress and then make a start sorting me newly discovered in a box in the bedroom paperwork again.
Cuppa, medications and started the laptop.
Got missen in the bath and freshened up nicely.
Had a chin-wag with some of the gal tenants in the reception area, then caught the L9 bus into town.
As I got off the bus the pigeons were high up on top of the newly renovated ‘Intu’ Victoria shopping Centre. I used me new Panasonic camera to zoom in on em!
The weather was the odd drizzle and periodic periods of extreme darkness – dank and gloomy it were!
I decided to walk further up Upper Parliament Street then down King Street, over the slab square down through Exchange Walk, along Albert Street, Lister Gate, through Broad Marsh Centre and out over Colin Street down Carrington Street and down to the Nottingham Canal to feed the ducks and pigeons.
Caught a Pavement Cyclist trying to get back on the road. Hehe!
I called into Tesco and got two cream cakes, one for me and one for Steve from Age UK later. Also got a couple of cheap sliced loaves to add to the seeds for feeding the dickies with on the canal.
Took me a while to get to the canal, but I was feeling a bit better and moving well for me I thought.
As I got the camera out to shoot the dickies one of the periodic period of gloom descended. Tsk! Ruined me photographicalisationing completely!
Most disappointing!
I spotted that one of the canal barges moored near the bridge was up for sale.
An older one, but I’ve often dreamt of winning a fortune and would be tempted to get something like this so I could feed the birds and do some fishing again?
If I won a few million, a grand to buy one of these, then getting it licensed and insured would be on the cards for me methinks?
Enjoyed feeding the animals.
I decided to go back through Broad Marsh centre proper and have enjoy a bit of window shopping like.
On my way through the centre I got a call – it was from Age UK’s Steve. The payment to the Derbyshire company that was doing the conveyancing or summat involved in selling the house had not gone through for the third time?
Steve sad to go to the bank and get them to make a cheque for the company. So I made me way to the bank and had to call Steve to get the name etc for the snotty nosed bank advisor.
Handed the phone to the superior git so he could talk with Steve who knew what is was all about.
Steve rang back with the required numbers and I gave them to the young turd over the table from me – who looked remarkably like a young David Cameron.
Eventually overconfident arrogant sod told me it had gone through okay this time.
I wandered into the slab square and had missed me bus due to pillock in the bank. So I had a wander around Primark Deadly for the finances that to me!
Ended up getting two, as the receipt said ‘Full zip fleeces’ Thin cardigans with pockets they were.
They had a selection of Christmas themed woolly hats and I took a photo of the for me American TFZ friends on Facebook.
Then I wandered up to the bus stop and caught the L9 back to the flats.
Surprisingly I fought off the falling to sleep syndrome today – although it was close. Hehe!
Back at the flats I then WC’d and put one of me cardigans on to keep warm, it was getting nippy now.
Made a cuppa and took me evening medications, then updated this twoddle while a waited for Steve Age UK to arrive. He’s kindly going to finally finish putting the book-case he built for me onto brackets on the wall to make it safe and not fall on me causing a Whoopsiedangleplop!
Did some Facebooking then, as I till awaited Steve coming.
Still waiting…
No he’s not coming.
Mopped the kitchen floor and made me nosh.
No picture – as I took the photo without the card in it – left it in the laptop again and don’t know how to get the piccy back from the internal memory? Shame cause it was a marvellous nosh it were.
Shepherds pie with sweet potato and sweet potatoes slices in batter! Mmm yummy!
Studied me TV paper and found stuff I’d like to watch all night tonight.
After sleeping and waking every few minutes it seemed to me, I gave up and got up at 0250hrs to visit the porcelain.
As soon as I moved I knew that Little Inchy and Anne Gyna didn’t like me moving! Tsk!
Little Inchy was sore, I put that own to the examination yesterday though. The stinging was not so bad though, if that makes sense to you?
The Stomach was really rumbling and bubbling. Overall not feeling too bright at the moment. The late night for me didn’t help.
Oh… another call to the porcelain. Cor blimey… and I didn’t have a nosh last night either, too tired to bother.
Not up to doing any sorting today that’s for sure – although guilt may prompt me into action later – oh and the laundry needs doing…
Made a cuppa, medications taken and laptop on.
Did some Facebooking and emails.
Got a wash and spruce up, then got me laundry ready, made sure I had soap, freshener, me mobile, camera in pocket and coins of the realm.
Got down and both machines were in use. Both had about 35 minutes left according to the readout on the machines.
Came back to the flat made a cuppa and updated this twollop.
Back down to try again with me laundry.
One machine free so got it in and going.
Very natter with some residents as they waited in the warmth of the reception area before going out to catch the bus.
Back up to the flat and the WC (Oh dear) sorted some paperwork out ready for filing (I keep finding more as I go through the stuff).
Back down to the laundry room and did me crossword book as I waited for the washing machine to finish.
Another nice little natter when some tenants came in off the bus.
Got the washing into the drier, and nibbles some nuts while doing me crossword book.
Packed me stuff into me bag and returned to the flat.
Had a dizzy in the lift and that was me done for the day – worst I’ve ever had. Tsk!
Got in and put me things in the airing cupboard.
I’m afraid I did nothing else apart from make me nosh, sat in the chair occasionally getting up to go to the porcelain, and that was me day.
Despite me feeling so bad, I did enjoy the nosh.
Garden peas, Frikadellens, pickled egg, beetroot, seasoned fries and bread thins. Strawberry cheesecake to follow.
Kept nodding and waking again, last time I recall getting up for the WC was about midnight – and didn’t feel well at all, thought about pressing me wrist alarm – glad I didn’t now, cause after nodding off and waking several times again, each time I woke up I seemed to feel a bit better, apart from the rumbling stomach which had been with me all day, Arthur Itis and Anne Gyna were giving me a rest.
Couldn’t remember if I’d took me evening or noon medications, but ound an empty evening pot later, so I must have.
Got a few hours kip in any way. No more dizzies.
TTFN all, as Arnie said: “I’ll be back!” He say’s hopefully. Hehe!
Woke 0520hrs, feeling stiff all over, Little Inchy been leaking again, Anne Gyna lurking all over the top half of me chest and me legs were bloated up again.
To the WC, the bleeding nose from last nights Whoopsiedangleplop had congealed.
Went into the kitchen and groaned at the horrendous mess it looked, despite me hours of grafting at trying to sort it yesterday! Not happy at all with it.
Cuppa and took me medications – at least I remembered where I’d moved me stock of readied pots of tablets gels and medicines to. Even found me ear spray at the first attempt. Hehe!
Laptop on to finish yesterdays diary.
Checked emails and did some Facebooking.
Another cuppa and a pot of porridge. I added some lemon curd to the pot.
While consuming these a thought came into my mind (This does occur sometimes) that I was going to go to the shops in Sherwood this morning… but I couldn’t remember what for?
Then when I took me cup into the kitchen to wash it…
I saw the fog had descended somewhat.
Pondered on what to tackle first in the sorting-out saga today.
Must get some done cause medical thingamabobs tomorrow will prevent any activity on this front.
Had a wash and shave, WC’d and guess what me first task was?
Clue here in this photographicalisation.
Set to reorganising the kitchen yet again.
Many hours later…
I was so tired and frustrated I decided as the fog had cleared to go for a walk into Sherwood to get a replacement for the item in the photo that I’d cleaned in the hope of using again. But the plastic bit broke when I tried to retread the string.
As I walked up to the top of the path into the park – the trees with their changing seasons appearance just had to be photographed. Beautiful!
Into Sherwood and the Wilko store.
Came out with a new mini-hoover, nail brush, cotton balls, ceiling switch cord, lobby grip and cotton-wipes as a replacement for me Little Inchies swipes.
Then foolishly went into the Co-op store to get a couple more of the Spare Rib Pot Noodles that I seem to have become addicted to, while they are still on offer. Also got an expensive pack of roasting veg (Carrots, red onions, sweet potatoes and parsnips) to have tonight with me Frikadellens. Then spotted some potato waffle letter shaped packs on clearance price – £1 down to 50p! So I got one. Had the idea that if there were the letters T F & Z, I could put em on top of me nosh and post a photo to the TFZ site for a laugh?
Getting well dark as I walked back to the flat – dodgy underfoot again with the leaves waiting to catch me with a Whoopsiedangleplop – but I managed okay to get back to the flats without harm. Hehe!
Feeling really drained now, and a couple of dizzy spells frit me a bit.
Got me nosh in’t oven.
Put me bits away – some I even had a place made for them to live with all me sorting earlier (Proud sneer appears on lips!).
Cuppa and medications taken.
Got the nosh ready.
Managed to find a T F & Z to top off the nosh!
This nosh was me bestest ever since being in the flat!
Rated this one 9.6/10.
Roast veg, pickled eggs, red potato nugget (cooked crispy in’t oven) beetroot, tomatoes and Frikadellens! Gorgeous!
Washed me pots and sat down to see if owt was on the TV or should I read me book – cause I can do that easier now I’ve got me new brighter light-bulb in!
Up at 0415 – straight to the porcelain – usual bleeding front the and rear. Cleaned missen up.
Kettle on for a cuppa, took me medications.
Today being the day for me Wilko order to arrive at the flats – and that’s all it is guaranteed to do – as the lady who I spoke with from Wilko said it will be up to the courier driver whether he/she will take the goods upstairs for me or not, as apparently they do no have insurance cover for using the lifts?
I emailed Deana Walker the Obergruppenfurher for the flats with a request that the caretaker might keep an eye out for the delivery and assist me getting me stuff up to the flat in the event that the driver is unwilling to.
Got an interesting Automatic email in return:
It informed me that she is on holiday Monday 7th September returning to work on Monday 14th September?
It is October innit?
Confused now.
Twixt 12 > 1400hrs Asda should be delivering.’
So, as I don’t know the number for the shed so can’t ring them, I rang Deana’s mobile – no answer, no voice-mail. Assuming I rang the right number.
Can’t go out to ask anyone to pass on a message or go to the hut in case the delivery should arrive and they call me on the intercom?
In a building with 200 other residents and so alone at the same time. Hehe!
Ah well, I’ll get some graphics done then, oh, I’ll make another cuppa first.
Frustrating day and I’ve only been up for five hours…
Started doing some graphicalisationing.
Email in from Wilko, telling me that Night freight had despatched four parcels, and will update me further if needed?
Asda delivery arrived. Not much in it today, but got some seasoned fries I’m looking forward to later.
Had a Pot Noodle for nosh, added some Marmite to boost it a bit.
Tried to clean the draining board again, but it’s too scratched and not nice to look at. Tried the expensive Fairy Deep cleaner on it, no good.
No signs of the Wilko delivery yet.
Back to creating me graphics.
Got some done ready to use later when I get me Duncan post done.
Made a cuppa nd took me evening medications.
Getting hungry now, but don’t want to waste me food if I cook me chips and the Wilko delivery arrives. But will it? Getting on now, nearly 1700 hours… will it arrive… ♫ Dang dang dang dang! ♫
Well, gone 1800hrs and no Wilko delivery.
I’ve emailed enquiries at Wilko to inform them. Tsk!
Disappointed to say the least, a wasted day!
Got me chips and pork thingies in’t oven cooking.
Took medications.
This nosh was grand.
Rated it 9.2/10.
Head down and so disappointed with the Wilko Non-delivery
Up at 0405hrs, WC. Not feeling too bright this morning.
Haemmorhoids bleeding badly, dizzies early, Little Inchy sore and bleeding. Anne Gyna giving me a bit of grief.
On the brighter side the Reflux valve is a lot easier, and Arthur Itis not too bad at all in the legs or feet and only some twinging and stiffening in me hands as yet.
Recalled bits of a dream: Ladies in a big room, lots of ladies, all ignoring me as I ran around sticking labels with ‘Best before’ dates on the arms? I found myself in an office filled with purple coloured furniture, curtains and wallpaper, I knew this despite the dream being in mono? I was laying out desks and chairs and putting a pencil, spoon and an aubergine on each desk…
Made a cuppa and took me medications.
Got me togs ready for the laundering session and went down to the laundry room. Met a Scottish lady from the first floor and had a chin-wag when he came in to start her laundering session.
Got the washer going and back to the flat. Had a cuppa and started this diary, then back down to take the washing from the machine to the drier.
Met the Scottish gal again.
Got the drier going and then back to the flat again.
Updated this again. Then back down to collect me washing from the dryer.
Brought the washing back up and ensconced it snugly in the airing-cupboard.
Made a cuppa.
Updated this diary, then finished off yesterdays diary and got it posted off to the web.
Morrison’s came and went, put the stuff away then got ready to go out to an Aldi store, to see if they have any Frikadellens on sale for me to try, so I can compare them to the Lidl ones I had for nosh last night.
I really did enjoy them – and a write up about them on the web says how healthy they are compared to burgers and sausages too!
Called at the hut on the way out, no one there so left some nibbles for them.
Caught the L9 bus, after an entertaining gossip with some of the other residents of the Stalag… no flats.
Took a photo for the bus window as we turned into and down Gordon Hill.
Got into town and I walked in the drizzling rain to the Aldi store. They had some Frikadellens in, but they were smaller and lighter than the Lidl ones, so I didn’t get any.
Walked over the road and through the Victoria Centre.
The rain coming heavier now and the wind got up.
Hobbled down into the slab-square in the City Centre.
There were some stalls there again, but with the rain they belting down not many people were inclined to stop and buy owt!
I popped into Primark and bought yet another cap, another waxed one and put it on in an effort to avoid getting too wet on me way home.
Made me way passed the Chilwell and Beeston bus stops to Queen Street and waited for the L9 bus to get me back to the flats and out of the rain and wind.
Had a dizzy-spell at the bus-stop. Must remember I thought, to take me BP when I get back home. (Nice work that, home).
Took a photo from me seat on the bus, of all the buses surrounding the bus… Hehe!
No signs of falling asleep on the journey back to the Woodthorpe flats either today!
Rare that recently!
Got in the door and made hurriedly for the porcelain.
Did some spontaneous sorting out on the clothes racks, but got it all wrong and gave up when another dizzy-spell appeared.
That reminded me to take me reading so did:
Sys: 88 Dia: 64 Pulse 74: Temp: 31°. I’ll ask the nurse when I go on Friday if these look okay, I forgot to ask her to look at me readings last time I went. Well fancy that Tsk!
The rain was still persisting down.
Decided to get me nosh early in case the dizzies persisted.
Had the easiest to make, but some Rosti potatoes in’t oven to have with some bread, made two sweet loin sandwiches and some beetroots, followed by a pot of mandarin yoghurt.
Laptop on updating while the Rostis warmed through.
Got the mobile in me hand to call Steve from Age UK and he called me!
He’s calling for the £840 for the house clearance man tomorrow – that is providing he had got it done by then – so with luck, once I pay-up we can start getting the house on the market. Good job I had professional help from Steve in getting somewhere to live and the old place on the market – it’s only took him 4 months to get this far. Tsk! (Now now Gerry, no bitterness please! Hehe!)
Made sure the money was still there and I’d not forgotten where I put it like.
Not feeling very bright again now.
Had me nosh, Rated it another 9/10, and fell asleep.
Woke an hour or so later and ran a bath, which I enjoyed apart from clouting me ankle when I was getting out.
Then made a cuppa and took me medications and updated this twaddle.
Woke around 0400hrs – Found some notes I must have written on me pad on the side of the chair where I fell asleep last night. Hard to read though.
WC’d, put the kettle on then made a cuppa and took me medications. used old camera to take photo of me brekkers.
Can’t remember details of the dreams now, so I’ll just copy the notes here: Boats, canal, France/French people… Ferry, sea, End of the world, tried to get licence to shoot politicians, Osborne, medal/award… shot myself with nail-gun and missed, hit a Ford Prefect car? There were some words I could not make out at all.
Back to the WC.
Feeling okay this morning, the bruising on the arm was a lot easier, Little Inchy not bleeding too bad, the rear end was leaking a bit of blood, the angina bothersome a bit, Arthur Itis not bad at all. The reflux valve no worse than usual.
Caught sight of the bedroom… oh dear, better close the door – oh… it won’t close will it, thanks to the damned Crap United Carpet fitters!
Laptop on to start this diary off.
Got me laundry bag and added a few bits, coins, soap powder and down to the laundry room to start me washing off.
I thought it was a good idea to do me laundry early to beat the rush during the day – Huh!
Three others arrived to do their ashing or drying.
Had a chin-wag with a bloke tenant I’d not had a chance to talk to before.
Put me washing in the drier, making room for the bloke to get his laundry in the washer.
Returned to the flat and the WC porcelain was utilised yet again.
Updated this diary to here.
Popped down to see if the drier had finished and collect me washing.
While waiting for the drier to finish, I decided I’d get out to the Forest today and try to take some photographs of Goose Fair. This photo is of the 2005 Opening of Goose Fair.
Brought the washing back up and WC’d again.
Put me togs in the airing cupboard and made a cuppa.
Laptop back on and found this photo I took yesterday from the kitchen window of a woman with two dogs in the paddock 13 floors below.
Not a good picture, nothing special… but it was to me, seeing the two dogs tails wagging away cheered me up.
Got me rubbish bags ready to drop down the chute after 0800hrs.
Did some Facebooking.
Made a start on the October horoscope forecasts.
Readied missen for me trip to town and the Goose Fair. Caught the bus to Sherwood. Nice Chin-wag on the way with some tenant ladies.
Dropped off in Sherwood. Called in the charity shop to see if they had any large brown Ottomans or book stands in stock – no they didn’t.
Then caught a bus into town.
The Pavement Cyclist in this picture on the right was weaving in between pedestrians swiftly and closely. The scum-bag!
As I walked into town to catch the tram to the forest and the goose Fair, I noticed that the Lord Mayors and Civil dignitaries cars had been allowed to park where I did when responding to an alarm activation years ago and I got a parking ticket!
Caught the tram to the Fair – talk about sardines in a tin!
They all spewed out at the Goose Fair though, me along with them.
A tram was going the other way. I photographed it with the mini-helter skelter in the background.
The Goose Fair was due to be officially opened and there was not many folk about so I had a wander around taking some more photographs.
Some of the stalls and rides were open already.
The rip-0ff stall with tons of wonderful prizes on display, where one buys a ticket in the vain forlorn hope that one of the numbers on it will match the long list of winning numbers was open.
Hah!
Never seen a winner on it yet!
The traditional Waltzer was still being erected.
The Ghost train looked well designed on the outside I have must say.
Very atmospherically presented.
Mind you, at advertising £5 quid a ride on the first day, I wondered what it would be costing folk on Saturday night – the time the rides usually double or more in price?
It wasn’t finished being erected either.
I noticed a small stand at the side of it still being made-up called ‘Beat the Bar’ – should be no problem for the Nottingham Alcoholics that. Hehe!
As I plodded around I saw some of the Nottingham dignitaries in their chains of office lurking waiting amongst the Newspaper and TV people for the arrival of the Lord Mayor.
The kids kid corner rides were all ready for the Nottingham ankle-snappers and apprentice muggers to arrive with their benefits receiving parents.
I did notice the huge amount of food stalls this year, already giving off attractive smells to tempt folks to spend their dosh.
At one of the unopened yet food stalls that advertised kebabs and Halal foods, I saw a sign on the outside of the trailers seeking staff to work at it – female only it said?
Is that legal nowadays?
White slave traders perhaps?
The food stall near one of the entrances the one on the right in this picture, advertising bacon and beef burgers had two people cooking ready for the rush in it – and I have to say it smelt absolutely ruddy marvellous to me!
And in amongst the sauces they had some beetroot pickle too!
One one of the unfinished rides they had i presume American football team helmet at the front of the ride.
Just wondered if they were made up or real team names.
I’d heard of a couple of them like.
As I left the ground to catch a tram into Bulwell and get to the GUM clinic I espied from the tram platform, two Fair caravans right next to each other for Gypsy Fortune Tellers like.
The first one Advertised on the boarding: ‘Gypsy Rosa Lee – Clairvoyant Palmist etc. Open.
The second one advertised: ‘Daughter of Gypsy Roas Lee. Open.
Tickled me a bit seeing them their together.
I assume that mother Gypsy Rosa Lee hanging out of the door knew she wasn’t going to get cancer as she chuffed away on a fag?
Hehehe!
Caught the tram into Bulwell and walked over the bridge into the market place stopping to take a photo of the wonderful Mallard ducks as I crossed over the bridge over the river Leen into Bulwell Main Street.
As I crossed over the Market Place, no stalls on today, I pondered on how dejected the place and people looked?
Bulwell having the highest unemployment rate and number of disable registered folk in Nottingham i assume they can thank Mr Couldn’t care less Cameron and ‘Orrible Osborne for their downtrodden gloomy looks?
Slipped the pigeons some seed.
Even they looked depressed! Huh!
And many of them had club-claws?
I nipped into Fultons Foods to see if they owt on offer hat might appeal – but I came out empty handed. Then I popped into Iceland to get some bread thins. Then into Heron Foods – where I got some battered fish cakes and fingers, along with some potato cakes at 600g for 79p.
Made me way back to the bus station and caught a bus with the intention of getting off at Hayden Road and walking through to catch a bus to Sherwood – however… best laid plans and all that… I fell asleep and woke up as we were arriving in Nottingham City Centre – Tsk!
Got off near the abandoned and apparently unsellable old Guild Hall Courts building – that was next to the new E-on building that cost many millions to build. No wonder the Franch owned company charge so much for their electricity.
I walked to Queen Street and caught a 40 bus.
When the bus left and stopped to pick-up folk at the Victoria Centre stop – I noticed some ladies in the bus shelter and something appealed to me about them, all differing nationalities, ages etc and they sat there chatting away happily between themselves.
They didn’t seem to happy mind when I got me camera trained of them through the bus widow though – Oh dear…
Dropped off on Winchester street and walked to the flats. Luckily I woke up just before the stop came up.
I must ask the GP about all this falling asleep on the buses!
Remembered me ‘Mind Test appointment tomorrow at noon.
As I was going up the lift at the flat, the one lift left working at the flats – I realised I’d not been to the GUM clinic – Whoopsieddangleplop day again then!
Tsk!
Just made it to the porcelain in time.
Put me food in the freezer and made a cuppa.
Laptop on and updated this diary, checked me emails and did some more work on me Horoscope post.
Got me nosh – Beetroot, bread thins, potato medallions, battered fish fingers and fish-cakes, tomatoes and cheese pops.
Wonderful! Rated this one 9.05/10!
Nodded off in the chair again, no bath, no shave, no nibbles, no rest, just kept on waking and nodding off again until 0700hrs, when I got up to go to the porcelain…
Woke around 0500hrs – Dreamt of abandoned offices building again, with me either chasing or running away some peoples?
Urgent trip to the porcelain – I’d left some hand cloths soaking in the sink so went into the kitchen to wash me hands. Saw the medication pots I’d washed to use later were still on the draining board and needed wiping and the lids putting back on and placing in the drawer. So I got them all sorted with lids that fitted and put them in the bowl to carry them to the drawer for storing – Early Whoopsiedangleplop here… dropped the bowl! So had to cleaned them all again! Huh!
Made a good strong cuppa and took me medications.
Laptop on and did what I didn’t do last night cause I fell asleep early. Got yesterdays diary finished and posted.
Stated this diary then did some Facebooking while I had the chance.
Hurriedly got missen scrubbed up and to the bus stop outside the flats. Bit of a chin-wag with the other residents.
I managed to catch the wrong bus Huh! It was the L9 I caught, but it was the one going away from town not to town. Laugh… well no I didn’t actually. Dropped off in Sherwood and caught a bus into town.
As I walked along towards the bus-stop to go to Jane & Pete’s – I was reminded of the Alfred Hitchcock film, ‘The Birds’.
Harmless ones though – the pigeons are likely to crap on you from a great height, but I don’t think they would peck one to death?
Got the bus to Jane’s mansion and was greeted with a nice cuppa and a smile. (A bit of a rare and worrying event that!)
I set about trying to get Pete’s Spy Camera software to load. After around three hours I got it loaded – then we spent another hour trying to set the date on it – without any success.
I was really up-tight about me failure when Steve of Age UK rang but I couldn’t get me phone in time, so rang him back. He’d spoke with two people and got quotes from them, both high, £800 and £850 pound for the house clearance… Oh dear. He said he trusted the £850 man more than the £800 bid. So I agreed and told Jane and Pete I’d have to go, so I could get to the bank and get the money ready in case they could get to do it quicker than next week as will be planned
Said me cheerios and set off and caught a bus into town.
Exchange Walk, Nottingham City centre
To the bank, then worked out I had some time to spare before the last L9 bus left, so had a walk around, starting in the slab-square, then up King Street.
Walked up to Trinity Square where I found some ‘Bling to photograph for the TFZers site.
Can you believe the prices of these glasses in a shop window in Trinity Square?
I put the prices in Canadian, Australian and Canadian dollars so the TFZers can understand exactly what the English pounds in costs/prices actually represent in their money.
Got to the bus stop in plenty of time, passing the Cafe Row of shops on the way.
You can see how busy they were not can’t you?
Just as well I got there early because the bus pulled out three minutes early. Tsk!
I managed to fight falling asleep until just before the flats – and missed my stop, but got off at the next one and walked back. Wot a plonka!
Got in WC’d and made me salad ready for later and washed the pots.
Laptop on and made sure I added the time of Fridays ‘Memory Test’ at the doctors, 1200hrs to me Google calendar that the surgery had given me in rely to me email bless em.
Updated this diary, then did some Facebooking with drooping eyelids. Hehe!
Went to make another cuppa to take me medications and found I’d left the hot tap water running! Getting depressed with missen now!
No bath tonight then, the water heater was not working?
Got me nosh.
Rated it 8.4/10, nice salad. Mushrooms, oiled and sliced some red peppers, Krakowska pork sliced up, garden peas, wonderful beetroot, boiled eggs, pork and pickle mini pies, tomatoes, last of the veggie bacon (No more to be had now, a one-off from Fulton foods) some bread thins, spread with Bertolli Olive Oil spread and butter.
Checked me emails again – did a graphic of TFZ’s Marie. with Marie and a photo in the background I took today at the jewellery shop. I’ll post it later on the site.
Did some WordPressing reading and voting.
I decided to get just one bag sorted tonight… however I foolishly decided to have a cuppa first… and nodded of in the chair…
Another dream filled waking up all the time nights kip! (Oh dear) I eventually got off proper like and managed a good five hours slumber in one go, and all through the night, only two calls to the porcelain.
I found some notes that I had apparently scribbled about the dreams, but they were largely indecipherable. Most annoying that.
Very foggy this morning.
Whoopsiedangleplop number one: I’ve lost one of me hearing-aids again! Searched fruitlessly for hours everywhere, including the bins. Definitely lost it this time. Damn and blast!
Made a Cuppa and took me medications. Depressed and annoyed wiv missen again now too!
Another Hearing-aid search, fruitless.
Had a good wash and scrub-up.
Decided although it was later than I had planned to to do it yesterday (I was hoping to get to the laundry-room around 0500hrs to beat the others to getting a free machine) to get me washing done. But I’d lost so long searching for me hearing-aid. 0645 hrs: Collected the washing from the bathroom bag, made sure the soap capsules and softener were in the bag and I’d got the coins to operate the machines.
Got to the lift to go down, and when I pressed the call button, a lift came up to me 12th floor, but the door didn’t open? After a few more presses, it did open and I nervously got in and pressed for the ground floor. The cage shook a bit on the way down – don’t know if it made any noises cause of course I had no hearing aids in. Huh!
Got in the room and someone had beaten me to one machine, but the other was free, so I got me washing in alright. I could see the fluff sticking out of the drier that someone or more than one by the look of it, had not cleaned out. I cleaned it up.
I returned to the flat and made a cuppa and did another pointless search for me hearing-aid.
Laptop on and did some updating on me diary. Then down again to the laundry room – via the lift that acted up just like me earlier trip down in it.
Me washing had 3 minutes left to finish, so at least I timed something right for once. Hehe! But someone had used the drier I’d cleaned out, so I cleaned out the other one and used that.
Back to the flat and did another pointless search for me hearing-aid.
Did a graphic and searched again for me hearing-aid.
The lift acted the same when I went down to the drier in the laundry room.
Took me washing out and into me bag and back up to the flat. Saw my first person of the day a lady I’d not seen before. Obviously she was on her way to the laundry room. Maybe not a good idea to try and get my laundry done on a weekend?
Back to the flat. Took me bags to the rubbish chute now it had well gone 0800hrs.
Whoopsiedangleplop number two: When I got back from the chute, I bent down to pick up a bit of fluff I’d walked into the hallway – had a dizzy, grabbed at the door handle to stop missen going down – of course the handle turned and down I slid – Clunk thud! Hard to believe even for me, but I caught me left cheek (Face cheek!), against the storage heater – it is now more important than ever that I get to the dentist, and it also started the angina off. Hey-ho!
Another cuppa (a right thirst this morning?) and took an extra pain-killer to ease the pain from the tooth.
Started today’s, then finished and posted yesterdays diary. While doing this I came across a photo I’d taken yesterday afternoon when I noticed a large number of flies buzzing outside around the kitchen window. I tried repeatedly to get a close up photo of one of them, ten wasted shots later, this was the best I could manage. Wondered why they should suddenly appear? Were they perhaps young meat flies?
Fog all cleared now
Did some Facebooking, a lot of Facebooking.
Went to make another cuppa and took another photo from the kitchen window now the fog had gone.
Rang Jane about the time for meeting Pete tomorrow with the Laptop for him.
Agreed to meet him twixt 10 > 1015hrs. (Well that’s what they demanded like).
Then if we’re quick I can get back to the GP for me flu jab and INR tests in time for 1130hrs – then back into ton to report me hearing aids missing – then back to Sherwood to get booked in at the dentist. That’s the plan any-road…
Whoopsiedangleplop number three: Went into kitchen to wash me cup and noticed the sink looked a tad grungy. So I decided to try the Jif cream cleaner on it to see if that would improved it any… during which I came up with some advice for any other old twit who wants to scrub his kitchen sink with cream cleaner to be aware of…:
“Take extreme care when bending over into the sink to get good access with yer scouring pad… as when you get carried away, it does yer spectacles no good at all when yer bang em against the tap spout!”
You can always add calling in to see the optician tomorrow along with going for yer flu jab, yer INR Warfarin level blood test, the dentist and the audio clinic to yer plans. Huh!
Got me nosh in the oven and saucepan cooking away.
Pondered on whether or not to try and do, me corner-stand up again, but thinking of the Whoopsiedangleplop ridden day up to now – I decided to leave it until tomorrow morning, then I’ll give it plenty of time to dry properly while I’m out in me appointments and errands for hours.
Ate me nosh, battered fish fingers, seasoned chips (fries), and baked beans, followed by a lemon dessert and apple pieces.
Rated 8/10.
Washed up the pots and sat down to watch TV, after a few nod-offs I gave up and sorted what I hope is me last bag of documents, mostly for shredding, then found some more in the next box. Tsk! They can wait.
Had a bath and changed into me night attire. Made a cuppa and laptop on to finish this diary off.
Did some Facebooking and checked emails.
Evening all, have a good day.
After I’d had a nod-off for a few minutes I sprang awake – I’d been dreaming of Kentucky Angel, I was in America with her and we were at a fair eating candy-floss! Wonderful dream.
The kitchen this morning, a mess. Corner-stand in the middle of the room still drying, wood polish, cleaners all over the place, the leaked Flash spray to sort, hey-ho!
Kept springing waking all through the night until about 0300hrs as I recall, dream filled but cannot recall them. Yet I reckon I got a total of over 7 hours in, and woke still feeling drained.
But realised I had to get so much done today and was visiting Jane and Pete this afternoon. I must remember I have to ring them first to make sure it was okay for me to go, as instructed by Pete yesterday.
Cuppa and took me morning medications, had an extra painkiller because I missed me medications last night. Tsk!
The reflux valve and angina were bad because of this. The toothache still there but not too bad at the moment.
Made another cuppa and laptop on. Finished yesterdays diary and posted it, checked emails, then had a bash on Facebook while I had the chance. So much still to do today, not going to be an easy one methinks.
Hours later I got the bath I’d been longing for. And, no Whoopsiedangleplops getting in or out of it!
Got the pressies and nibbles for Jane and Pete in me bag, bus-pass, camera and letters for the previous tenant to drop off at the community shed. Set off.
Met Deana and Julie on my way out of the building as they were emptying the coins out of the washing machines. Handed Obergruppenfurher Julie the letters, and she promptly screwed them up and dropped them in the rubbish bin? It’s nice to know that conscientious reliable centre-carers that we pay extra for on top of our rent can be relied on innit? Hehe!
Walk to Sherwood through Woodthorpe Park and caught bus into town.
Realised I’d again left me HDSC card in the laptop and could not take any photographs – decided to get another one so I can always keep one in the camera.
Called into Vic centre and got a Spending Voucher for Jane’s Christmas pressie.
Went to the Jessop camera store and bought yet another HDSC card for the camera. Tsk!
Took photo when I came out of the shop on Clinton Street. Busy as usual.
Caught the bus to WB, dropped off and walked to Jane’s mansion.
When I arrived Pete was vacuuming the old cat Fooey!
He loved it! (Mr Fooey the cat I mean)
I was so impressed with this I’m going to do a post about it with photographs on WordPress later today.
Cuppa tea presented to me and we had a good chin-wag.
Gave them their pressies and nibbles.
Pete was very much impressed with the camera-watch I gave him. Read the instructions and said it needed a computer. No problem I told him, I can give him me old one to use. We agreed to meet in town on Monday and I can give it to him then.
Hog Roast stall, one customer!
Much nattering later, I departed to catch the bus into town so as not to miss the last L9 bus that goes to the flats. Realised I’d got the timing wrong when I got into town and had an hour to spare, so I had a poddle around town using me camera.
The food stalls were back in the slab-square. Some new ones I spotted, but they were not doing very well trade-wise.
The Hog Roast stall only had one customer.
Mind you the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich stall didn’t have any!
The same amount of customers that the Ostrich burger stall had!
The Chocolate Strawberry Stall was the same.
I caught the last L9 bus back to the flats.
WC’d then got me nosh on.
I was tired again and the reflux valve started to play up – I thought about abandoning the Beef and onion in black bean sauce with seasoned fries in case it made the reflux valve any worse… But I do so love this meal…
I ate it slowly as I could to limit any chance of it bothering me later.
Rated this 9.2/10 for sheer taste – the mandarins in jelly with sour cream cheese was nice too!
Feet up, drink of shandy and I nodded off nicely for an hour or so.
I’ve not got it right yet – Tsk!
Took me medications, thought about giving the corner-stand another touch up.
It’s still there being walked around in the middle of the kitchen floor and not yet anywhere near passable as usable.
I’ll ave to ask someone if there is anything I can do to make it less blotchy.
I must have done summat wrong, I don’t know whether to use the scratch liquid or polish on it again next? Huh!
Sat down again and put the telly on.
More nodding-off ensued.
Gave up trying to watch whatever it was I was trying to watch, curled up and drifted into oblivion – where dreams kept making me wake up (?) very often throughout the reminder of the night?
Somehow this didn’t bother me at all, I think I was feeling more content than I have for a long time now. Worrying that for me… Hehe!
TTFN all, and thanks to all who have helped me get through me problems of late.
0630hrs (Late for me) Woke up in the chair, hobbled to the WC.
Me legs were swollen again and Arthur Itis was visiting me knees fingers and hands. Reflux valve sticking again, bleeding Little Inch and haemorrhoids and toothache persisted.
The skin cancer wound started stinging and itching again?
Hey-ho.
Thought of the dreams I’d had while I was on the porcelain – by the time I’d finished made a cuppa and got the laptop on few memories remained. Somehow I was back in boats/ships again, and frustrated… no details came back to me. Annoying that!
Made another cuppa and took me medications, and extra 30g codeine taken.
Finished off yesterdays diary of Woe and started this one.
Checked emails – Did some Facebooking and posted yesterdays diary. Graphicationalised.
Got a bath and shave, got me things ready and went to the community shed with letter I’d received for Margaret the previous tenant. Gave Deana and Julie their choice of nibbles.
Caught bus to town, then another out to West Bridgford to sister Jane and Pete’s abode.
Gave them their bag of treats. Had a Chin-wag and rollicking received.
Had a bit of fuss with their cats.
We decided that I would ask Steve of Age UK to ring Pete, who had some ideas for selling the old house quicker. I said next time I contact Steve I’ll get him to ring Pete. Pete was not happy that I didn’t ask him first.
Jane managed a smile and showed off her home grown figs.
I walked on to the centre and caught the bus to town.
Dropped off near the Victoria Centre and had a walk around for a while until time to catch the L9 bus back to the flats.
Slipped the pigeons some seed near the back of the council house.
Walked through the slab-square.
The square was full of little ganglets of Nottinghomians.
Not very busy elsewhere.
Caught some citizen ignoring the traffic lights as a tram passed by clanging it’s warning bell.
Along Long Row and up inton Street, that was it’s usual busy self.
Turned into a street to avoid nowadays if you don’t want to be stopped by Big issue sellers, beggars, street artists or consumer service interrogators.
Walked to the top and into Upper Parliament street and left along to the Post Office bus stop.
The L9 arrived and I got on and fell asleep without any problem.
Kept waking and nodded off again and was lucky when I woke just as the bus was arriving at the flat bus stop.
Steve rang minute later – I told him about Pete wanting to speak with him, he sounded a tad put-out by this. Wanted to know why. Told him I thought they were worried about me not things sorted in time before the reserves got too low. After another chin-wag he said he could be free tomorrow but wanted to know what time. I said I’d ring Pete to find out then ring him back.
Rang Pete, who said any time after 1400hrs.
Rang Steve back and he said he’s be at the flat about 1400hrs then.
Tension was in the air…
A letter from Nottingham City Homes arrived about Virgin Media making folk sign a contract with them. Like they had with me. A bit confused about this? Sent email to Dean Walker telling her I’d signed a contract and asking for advice.
I had a walk into Sherwood and called at the Co-op shop to get some beetroot and apple bread. They had some Cheese and Jalepeno bread on sale and I tried one of those, even not knowing what Jalapeno was. Got some other bits so I could use me £1 off if I spend £10 voucher.
Walked back through the park, was going to take some photographs of the birds in there, but had not got me camera with me. Tsk!
Had curried beans, hot dog sausages and the new bread followed by mandarins in jelly with cream cheese.
It was horrible!
Rated this culinary disaster at 3/10. Huh.
The jalepeno in the bread tasted like red hot peppers, I could still taste the burning flavour hours later.
Took me medications.
I washed the pots left them to drain on the draining board, made a drink, sat down and nodded off.
Woke hours later at well gone midnight. Mouth felt like sandpaper, but surprisingly the toothache was no worse.
Cleaned up the kitchen stuff, WC’d and made a cuppa.
