00:00hrs: As I woke, half-hanging out of the recliner, with the bottled water, headphones, woolly-hat, spectacles, pen and pad and other bits on the floor around the chair, there were little bits of the dream I must have been having, milling about in my head…
I was determined to write down the thoughts, and I attempted to get free of the recliner, up on my feet and get down to pick up the pen and pad, to record the memories. Things did not work out as planned, though!
In my haste, I got up too quickly, and without catching my balance. Crumpled to the floor on my knees. Unfortunately, setting-off RAI (Rheumatoid Arthur Itis) and CC (Cartilage Cathy) hurting. The thoughts of getting the pad were lost, replaced with the task of getting myself back up on my feet. Tsk!
By the time I’d managed to get back up, with the assistance of the heavy recliner as a lifting aid, and had used the picker-upperer to get the articles dropped in the night, any residue of memories of the dream were long gone into the ether! Fungleboggles! I was well miffed with myself now! Mind you, I did find the missing TV remote control while I was down there!
The need for a wee-wee arrived, so over to the NWWB (Nocturnal-Wee-Wee Bucket) for an SSAO (Sprinkly-Spraying-All-Over) mode wee. With SSS (Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley) kicking into gear as I did so, it was a miracle that I managed without and spillages!
So, I’ve been up for around five-minutes – A tumble onto my knees, CC, and RAI giving me grief, then SSS joins in, a pathetic wee-wee, and now I’ve just stubbed my toe taking the bucket to be sanitised!
And now, I think I’ve set Little Inchies fungal lesion bleeding. This is not the sort of start to the day that bodes well, is it?
Still, it didn’t bother me in the slightest. A man of my calibre, youthful exuberance, and happy-go-lucky outlook. “Huh!”
I took photos of the moon, which came out decentish, for me.
Made a brew of Glengettie, and got the computer going, and had a wee. The wee-wee was of a different mode this time – a little stronger than the first weak one, but it went on, and on and on!
During the first hour or so on the computer. The eyes started running, I started sneezing, then coughing, back to sneezing, then had a visit from Dizzy-Dennis. Saccades-Sandra is also playing up this morning. After the 60-minutes or so, the sneezing and coughing stopped completely?
I got the photos on CorelDraw from yesterday, and then in WordPress, and got the Wednesday blog all done. Sent it off to WordPress. Emailed the link. Pinterested a couple of graphics. Then did the Facebook updating. On to the WP Reader next. Again, not much on with it being the holidays, but there’s some great stuff posted.
Made myself a mug of 99 tea, and read assessed the emails. I was glad that I read the one from Iceland, for they are arriving tomorrow, not today now. Same slot, 06:00 > 08:00hrs.
I’ve no problem with that. I can rearrange my meets with President Biden and Her Majesty for a later time. Hehehe!
Then I had a look at the Nottingham, and Nottinghamshire email magazines, to see if anything interesting was on it today.
The latest figures for Nottingham was not up to date, because of the holiday period, obviously.
The national Patients Admitted graph looked like a bit of a spike is developing, after a dip?
I received this mornings edition of Nottinghamshire Today, and I found this article about the local and National Coronavirus figures.
Then, like lightning, (Well, that’s me all over, Haha!) I realised that I had not done yet done the morning Health Checks! Sad innit? The SYS was a bit of a shock, at 180, I’m sure I’ll implode or explode any time now!
I still can’t believe that when the hospital, paramedics or Doctor takes readings, it’s always, but always in range! Grumph!
Of course, it could be Woodthorpe Court’s mysteries; the phantoms, kelpies, spectres, poltergeist, spirits, manifestations, zombies, daemons, cacodemons, rakshasas, hellions, aliens, extraterrestrials, hobgoblins, apparitions, elfins, pishogues, apparitions, or gremlins?
Still, the body temperature came out alright.
On with the dating of this bog, then decided some brekkers would be a good idea. A Jenny supplied pickled egg, halloumi sticks and a Cornish pastie. A fair feast I found veritably tasty!
Summonings to the Porcelain Throne arrived. Apart from losing a fair bit of blood, things went well enough. I got the ablutions done at the same time. Which went well, a few dropsies, no more than ten, mind. Two decent sessions! The legs were looking good too.
However, drying off I did find a new, what looked like a Clopidogrel allergy mark. Its was only cause it was itching and hurting when scratched that I investigated further.
Can you guess from the photograph where I found it: Clues: Not a place that is easy to look at physically – Had to take the picture blind, cause I couldn’t see it visually – Near a joint, affected by an ailment! Not easy is it?
When I came out of the wet from into the kitchenette, there had been a slight covering of snow while I was ablutioning. Took this picture from the unliked, light and view-blocking window.
Then back on the computer to try and get some graphics done. The internet was so slow and causing problems. I phoned Jenny, to wish a happy new year and see how she, Nora and Frank, were doing. They seemed okay, Jenny was pragmatic, is the word methinks, about the current situation.
I got some waste bags done up, took them to the chute, and the big bag down to the caretaker’s bin.
On the way back up in the lift, it shuddered a little for a few seconds. Of course, this didn’t bother a heroic, brave, devil-may-care, outgoing young man like me at all.
No worries, shocks, involuntary escapages of wind from the rear-end, fears, or cheek-pinching. Nor, saying to myself “Hello, this is it!” Hahaha!
I tried getting the three-wheeler-guide in through the flat door, going backwards this time: It was so much easier to get the trolley in and over the high door tread with the double wheels ahead. That’s it, I’m coming in backwards in future! See? I can sometimes get things right with my plans and schemes – I did it once in October 1959 as I recall!
The weariness dawned earlier than ever today, and Duodenal Donald kicked-off for the first time in ages. I made a snack of some soup and the last of the bread…
But in the morning, I had problems with the SD card, it had split! So I lost all the other photographs on it as well! There were about 2,100 on it. Gragnangles and Grogglebonksworth!
And it got worse, when I tried to put the Canon card in, the computer said it needed formatting and would lose everything on it if it was done? I know there were over 2000 photos on that one as well – I opted to format, and the computer said it was ‘Unable to format this disc!’ I was shattered! I put the disc in the Canon camera, and that gave a formatting option automatically – so I pressed ‘Yes’, and the camera said something, but the screen cleared before I could read it properly. I took out the disc, put it back in, restarted the camera, and the option came up again, and I pressed ‘OK’… it did it, but of course, I lost all of the photographs.
I took a picture or two to try it, and it worked. Then put the disc in the reader, prayed… and the picture thingy came up, and I uploaded the photos post haste. Not happy with this cock-up, and will try not to mention it again, I’ll skip round it in tomorrows blog, the memory is too painful. If you don’t mind. It hurt to write this, and I don’t want to repeat it and bring back memories. Sob!
I got the pots washed, rinsed and down in the recliner, to the depths of depression and self-pity. Spit!
♥TFZer Nancy, it was a couple of years ago, mind. ♥
Sunday 27th December 2020
Greek: Κυριακή 27 Δεκεμβρίου 2020
01:10hrs: I woke after a rather sad, just under three hours of sleep. Robotically, I climbed falteringly out of the egregious, £300, second-hand, c1968, unsteady, not-working, incommodious, oh, so sickenly beige-coloured, haemorrhoid-testing recliner, and caught my balance easily enough. No calls for a wee-wee!
I turned the computer on. Argh! The greatly dreaded, much-feared, trying, and gut-wrenching ‘Blue Screen’ came up mid-way through its loading!
The heart sank, instant depression dawned, my shoulders sagged, and it seemed as if life had stopped for me! A blackness, blankness and confidence-destroying mood ensued!
As it restarted. It seemed to take a long time, during which I waited patiently… no, that a lie! – I panicked, fretted and prayed for a successful outcome!
‘Phew!’ It started up okay then! I gingerly opened up the Firefox internet, then the CorelDraw, and things seemed to be working in a normal fashion. I cheered up exponentially but did not go into any Smug-Mode, not until I was sure things would work right again. Boy, was I relieved and glad!
Within a few seconds of my renewed faith being restored, the summoning to the Porcelain Throne arrived, somewhat urgently. Off to the wet room I trotted, well, limped.
This Throne session had to be the easiest of the year! (I’ll stop taking the Docusate, now!) I was almost in complete control of the movement (First time in many a month, that!) Minimal pain! No Bleeding! Most satisfying!
However, this for the first time in ages, an easy victory for Trotsky Terence over Constipation Konrad, was the messiest evacuation in months as well! I may even have to order some more toilet rolls if this carries on. Hehe!
I then had to tend to the Health Checks because I’d forgot to do them earlier. Sad, innit? But I digressed from the plan yet again, deciding it was time for the first Glengettie cuppa of the day to be made and drank. While the kettle was boiling, I noticed the lights that I thought were car headlights again, across in Sherwood. This time two hours earlier than usual?
I got the Nokia camera to take a photo, but the rain was pelting down, and the wind was blowing. So I opened the unwanted unliked, light and view-blocking kitchen window, and tried to take a snap from within, of the lights. Aha! I’d made yet another mess of my photographicalisationing! Although there is an artistic aspect to the resulting picture, it was not planned, obviously.
I read the paragraph above later while editing, and realised I got something else wrong too. I’d written Nokia, in error for Nikon camera, yet again! Grobleknackerbangles!
Got the tea brewed, and back to the Health Checks. The Boot’s Boot’s made in China Sphygmomanometer readings were a lot betterer, with the SYS down from 178 to 154. Nice that!
The Chinese made Harpin Xian Di contactless thermometer, was in the green again, showing a temperature of 36.7°c.
I concentrated on getting the updating of the Saturday post completed. During this session, the wee-wees kicked in, and I think had to have about four of them over the next two hours. Mmm!
I got the finished blog sent off to WordPress. Replied to some emails, and made another brew of tea, Thompsons Punjana this time. (Two more wee-wees?)
The car lights were there still, although I do not think they are vehicle lights now. And tried to retake a decent photograph. This one came out much better than the first effort. Then I took an unzoomed shot in Nightime panorama mode. I’d hoped the clouds I could just make-out in the sky would be captured, but no!
Then I went on the Facebooking updating. Next, onto the WordPress Reader. (Three wee-wees) Started this blog off, and stayed with it for a good while. Sadly, mostly due to the never-ending error-correcting that was needed. Not blaming any ailments. They were kind to me, just a lack of concentration, and lousy-memory for facts, the wanted word and details.
The wee-wees were lessening a lot for some reason, in all the hours of doing the above, I only needed two of them. Then I realised I’d not taken the morning tablets yet – So I did. Hello, the rain has stopped falling!
Another mug of tea was fancied, so I went and made a cup of Glengettie. On the way back to the computer, Argh! I stubbed a toe! A pretty good effort it was, on the wheel of the swivel chair.
Of course, it didn’t bother a bold, brave, heroic person like me at all. Ahem!
I got a brekkers of sorts made up. It was supposed to be a little snack, just a Cornish pastie, peas and what was planned to be a tiny portion of cheesy potatoes, which I got carried away making and went overboard with the amount I made. I think doing Josies CP’s later was on my mind, and I did enough for both of us, Hehe!) So, this ended up as breakfast and main meal for the day for me. I ate it while watching a YouTube video about the serial killer and cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer. I ate all of the breakfast, and I even nibbled some nuts afterwards.
Did some blog updating on this post, made a brew.
Then it was time to get the ablutions sorted out. Which, I did! A stand-up job, which took longer than expected, not that it mattered much. The shaving produced a few nicks here and there. One on the earhole, the chin and the lip. I had a tender spot in a delicate area that I assumed was another furuncle coming. I manipulated the Nikon camera, with dexterity, or just good luck. I managed to get a shot of the offending pain giving whatever it was. Anybodies guess, but I’ll stick with it being a … well, it looks like a boil or furuncle. The discharge from it overnight had been captured in the PPs, so no bother there.
I did a lot of blogging, email reading and sorting, got rid of some unwanted photos from the SD cards, and potatoes. The wee-wees were going on strike. And I took this photo after the rain had stopped altogether.
Time to get Josie’s nosh prepared, and what a performance that was!
From the preparation to plating, took only about an hour. But the mess made was astronomical! The dropsies, too many to count included; the mixing bowl, cutlery, saucepan (luckily empty at the time), the mixer tool and the oven tray (luckily, also empty at the time).
Burnt my finger on the oven rack, I knocked the little black clock off of the window ledge (Not working now! I’ll investigate it later), cut my little-finger slicing the tomatoes, Clouted my head getting back up from retrieving the wooden spoon, and hit it again on the cupboard door! (Spacial awareness on the right side). All-in-all, a Nightmare Kitchen purgatory scenario, that Gordon Ramsay would not have been able to help with. Hahaha!
However, with my confidence aflame, I pushed my muscular firm youthful body onwards, ignored the blood, aches and bruises, and got the meal finished and plated! And delivered it to Josie’s door at the regular time of 12:00hrs.
As normal, she was on the phone to her sister again. Every week, it takes the edge off, making all that effort, not knowing if the gal will carry on with her call or get the meal while it’s still warm. Still; ‘Nemo Mortalium Omnibus Horis Sapit!‘ I hope that she does get it eaten and enjoyed. Then I’ll be happy, too!
By the time I’d got back and cleaned up… well, pretended to sort out the mess in the kitchen, I was drained again, even earlier than usual. All-in, mentally.
Dizzy Dennis joined in with the Thought Storms, as I settled into the £300, second-hand, c1968, cringingly-beige-coloured, not-working, rickety, incommodious, grotty recliner.
The brain required respite from the annoying Thought Storming, but it didn’t get any.
01:00hrs: I stirred and waited for the brain to catch me up. I soon realised that I had had five hours or so sleep, which was nice.
What wasn’t so nice, was the almost constant passing of wind from the anus! Followed by much longer than yesterdays, uncomfortable rumblings, grumbling and sharp but short pains? I’m sensing that I’m going to get a surprise or shock when the Porcelain Throne visit arrives. Gruffungrobblings!
As I climbed precariously out of the c1969 recliner, I became aware of the blasted ‘Hum’, combined with the droning noise from above, were both, or it seemed like it, louder than yesterday morning. Caught my balance, and needed a wee-wee – instantly and urgently!
I got to the ONWWB (Overnight-Nocturnal-Wee-Wee Bucket), and the wee-weeing was such a change to them of late. Of a BOVS (Blasting-Out-Vicious-Splashback) variety. (As I type this, several hours later, the stomach pains have still not stopped!) The wee colour was that of level-6 on the wee-wee chart! Which means I have to drink more. I’m not doing very well these last few days, am I? Fungleboggles!
No wonder the feet are filling up with fluid again!
With Docusate medicine needing me to drink at least a litre of water or fruit juice after each of the Two x 5ml spoonfuls, five times a day, already, it’s no wonder that I found later, that the fluid retention was returning to the feet already! As I mentioned, I’m not the luckiest of people!
I got the bucket and myself washed, put the kettle on, and got the Docusate poison guzzled down. Had a massive swig of spring water, to clear the taste and move the medicine around the body.
I’m praying that all this foul-tasting medication is eventually going to make things easier in the evacuation area. Says him full of confidence, Tsk!
Then I tackled the worrying and delicate job, of making a right mess of putting in the eye drops. Starting with the Chloramphenicol. Next, the eye-stinging Resolve ‘Soothing’ eye drops.
Some of the antibiotics did actually get into the eye, As well as down my cheek, discolouring the moustache on its way into my mouth. With a few spots finding their way up onto my bald dome, and down on my feet?
It’s great gerrin’ old, and you can’t control yer fingers, hands, arms… but I don’t want to scare the whippersnappers!
I took the medications next, starting with the Dioctyl poo-softener capsules. Then made a brew of Glengettie tea.
I must say, the eye is much better now, though. So, the stuff is working alright for me. It’s just that I can’t rely on myself doing the drops. The Doctor at the hospital didn’t tell me how to put them in. I hope I’m trying to do them right. But the dangers of SSS, NN and SS (Shaking Shaun) making me spill the stuff and miss the eye are an application worry. I fact, I’ve only done one dosage of the twelve done up to now, without losing liquid, dropping the bottle or over-squirting it, and using up too many drops. And that was at the ninth attempt. Humph!
I cracked on with the updating of yesterday’s blog. A slow job again, the concentration was fine (to start with), but Nocodemus’s neurotransmitters were the worst bother, and so much correcting had to be done all the time. Still, a mug or two of spring water, a few wee-wees, eye dropping session and taking another Dioctyl® in between, and I got it finished. No doubt missing many corrections that needed doing. (Lack of confidence? Me?… Yes!)
I went to make a mug of Thompsons Punjana tea and took this bad photo of the morning view from the kitchenette window. See the headlights there again, near the Health Centre? Every weekday, whoever parks up around 05:00hrs, leaving the headlights on for around two hours. I’d love to know who and why? But I’m just nosey. Haha!
I kept doing a few lines on this blog, then going on CorelDraw and either doctoring or making up a graphic to use, and got carried away with it. Realising the time was now gone 08:30hrs, I stopped, turned of Computer Katie to cool down, and tended to my ablutionary needs.
I kid you not, the time spent in and out of that wet room (Nearly two hours!) was crazier, more frustrating and dispiriting than yesterday. And thought that was bad enough!
ABLUTIONALISATIONING SESSION REPORT
As I entered the room, the marks on the floor really got to me. I decided to get the new bottle of Cif mould spray and let it soak while I got the teeth and shaving done, thinking it would soak in and be easier to clean. So I squirted some on the black spots, went to get the teeth done, but could not find the toothpaste? (This has happened in the past, I’ve been known to use it all up and forget I did so the next day – I know!) I exited to get the new tube and camera to take these shots.
As I was getting back in the room, I slipped on some of the gunk on the floor, stopped myself going over, but have twisted the back, so now, BPB (Back-Pain-Brenda) is now giving me what for! Oh, dear!
Did the teeth, and had a look at the floor. And realised for the second time! I’d bought the wrong cleaner, the Oven one! Feeling a fool comes naturally to me! I persisted scrubbing away with the wrong stuff, of course, it was a waste of time, then I thought it would be an idea to open the bottle and put some bleach it to use… The cap and spout broke off of the main body of the bottle! Croggnangles!
The shaving went remarkably well, only two dropsies and the same for the cuts! I rinsed away the gunk.
I got under the shower and proceeded to drop the lemon gel. The lid shot off, so I lost nearly half of the contents, bent down, holding onto the grab rail, and clouted my shoulder on the power box! I had an effective self-harming session here! I was not keen on it, but have to accept that I’m pretty efficient at it today!
I’m overjoyed to tell you that the towelling, medicating, and perfumery actions, were all done without any further knocks of injuries. Many dropsies, but out of the shower, I could use the picker-upperer.
On the way out, and I stopped and returned, thinking that at last, an evacuation was imminent, I st on the throne. I did some crosswording. I whistling a bit. Sang a few songs… Nope! Rock-solid and refusing to move! I departed again, and as it was time for the eye drops, I did them. (The few that I actually got into the eye)
Took another gulp of the foul-tasting, and needing a minimum of a litre of water to be taken with it, Docusate. Also another Dioctyl® capsule, something must work to free the solid torpedo in my innards? For despite the wind and churning in the stomach, nothing moves?
I took a photo through the balcony windows. It was indeed a cloudy, misty, rainy and demoralising bit of weather we were having this unfine Wednesday. Hello, I think Herberts on his model train making again. One day he’ll talk to me without a sneer on his face, maybe, perhaps, or mayhaps not.
Ah, a knock on the door! I investigated. Two letters had been posted, that might have been the noise and not anyone knocking. Two Christmas cards had been posted. That’ll be three now, to open on Christmas morning. I don’t rate them, but one is from the USA, a TFZer methinks. ♥
My jentacular desires came to mind. And I got a quick breakfast sorted out for myself.
Tomatoes, Frazzles, mini pork and pickle pies, and some red grapes. A pot of honey flavoured yoghourts as well. As brekkers go, this one was a 7/10 rated job.
I made up a few waste bags and got them in the box on the three-wheeler guide.
The sudden fatigue and weariness came over me, earlier than ever today!
I got the meal cooking. Then onto CorelDraw to make up some graphics before I faded too much, even if I only manage a couple, that’ll do me for now. I got one done!
I served up the nosh on a tray, back to some Chilli-Con-Carne today, at last. Some chips with it, and grapes and a pot of dessert to follow. Oh, and a baguette to soak up the extra chilli-gravy I’d added, and purposely overcooked a little. Taste? 8/10!
Did the pot washing, and crawled into the recliner, so drained. Got the TV on, and drifted off watching some rubbish or other.
An incoming landline call flashed and rang. Somehow I got free of the recliner and to the phone in time. It was Jenny, she was worried about my not seeing the email link for the blog, the lady apologised for waking me, bless her. It’s nice to know someone cares enough to do this. Sister Jane does similar, but I have not had a call from her, and at the time thought I had sent the link. I muttered my apologies for missing it off, and am not sure if anything else was said… oh, yes, Jenny told me to get back to sleep, bless her. I must check it in the morning and do it if I hadn’t, early before sending today’s… int life confusing? Tsk!
I got down again, and the Thought-Storms started. But not for long, I found Sweet Morpheousbefore long.
02:35hrs: Jumped awake – At last, I’ve had a dream I can remember something about. But first, the need of a wee-wee must be tended to.
Then things went (temporarily, I’m sure, Ahem!), a little out of shape. A nasty toe-stubbing as I moved to the wet room, the wee-wee produced about 2-fluid ounces in a slow, painful trickle. I washed and returned to the front room, intent on writing down the memories of the dream to record here later… But No! The flaming nocturnal memories had dissipated completely, into the ether! Grumph!
I mused over the airing rack at the medications and pondered over the best way to arrange things, so I do not forget to put the five, and four a day eye drops in. Then thought about a way – or tried to think about a way I can assure I’ll stop missing the evening medications. The thinking and planning lasted about 30 seconds.
Then I fetched the Chloramphenicol antibiotic eye drops from the fridge, and set about spraying the head, then the floor, next I squirted some in the actual eye. Hurrah! This bottle is not going to last the full two weeks!
Then, I did a lot better with the Carmellose eye drops, aim-wise… until I dropped the bottle. This bottle is not going to last the full two weeks either!
The temperature came out good!
The Boot’s Chinese made in Hong Kong Sphygmomanometer, gave another high reading of 160 for the SYS. I still can’t believe that three medical professionals told me on Sunday that the BP was just fine, one of them actually, said it was perfect?
Next, I had a guzzle of the Docusate, with a lot of water to follow. Took the medications from the pill-pots, this needed a bit of care, as the Carmellose drops were, as they always do, making my vision a bit blurry, it’ll pass though. Then gave Arthur Itis’s knees and Cartilage Cathy a good rubbing in of Phorpain Gel. Took Dioctyl® capsule, and an extra Furosemide. When one gets on a bit, life gets more and more complicated! A bit of advice for the whippersnappers, if any are reading this, of course. Hehe!
A long job updating yesterdays blog, a very long one. My concentration had gone on strike! Finished it hours later and sent it off to WordPress. Pinterested some snaps. Then did some Facebook catching up. Replied to the torrent of messages and comments (both of them!)
Then I thought about the fodder situation. No doubt, I have lots of frozen stuff in, cleaners and tinned goods, apart from garden peas. Sainsbury’s have no slots until the new year, fair enough. Out of desperation, I went on the Morrison site, and they had a slot on Tuesday 5th January. I reluctantly made an order with them. I’m dreading the substitutions that might, well, are almost guaranteed with them, that they may plant on me, and short dates as well. I’ve ordered Chilli Beans, I may get spaghetti bolognese. Oxo cubes, likely to get Strawberry jam? Rankin Soda bread, what chances of these being subbed with Soda Water? Sterimar Nasal Hygiene Spray… the mind boggles at the thought of what they might substitute for that… A face-mask maybe? I talked myself into getting worried now! Hahaha!
Blimey, look at the time! I’d better get the ablutions done. Closed the computer to give it time to cool down, and off to the wet room – it turned out a long, harrowing visit:
Ablutionalisational & Ablutioning Report
As I got in the door, all stripped ready for action, (Terrible picture in ones mind prompting thing to say, sorry about that!) I needed to use the Porcelain Throne, got down and as nothing was moving evacuation-wise, (the innards were active though, suddenly it felt like a stew, or witches cauldron bubbling away?)
The crossword book was tackled, and I got a few answers before any activity began. (Well, apart from some lively escapages of wind, with the associated pongs)
It was like early last week, the torpedo (which I thought it was at the time, but it wasn’t) peeped out and stopped. Requiring my painful exertions to encourage things to get a trot on. (Hehe! – don’t know why I’m laughing!)
I slow, long evacuation. Hoo-Haa! Argh! Blobblecraps! Yikes! Gawd, that hurt! Of course, it didn’t bother me!
Upon rising, I discovered I was back to the solid little meatballs evacuation mode.
More blood than for several weeks. Shame that, cause I was doing well lately with this. Humph!
The nasal-cleaning and clearing: Went well, no bleeding!
Teeth Cleaning: Nae bothers, whatsoever!
Shaving: Worra farce! I had SSS (Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley) shaking the __it out of me, and Nicodemus’s Neurotransmitters failing, at the same time! The razors spent as much time on the floor, or the sink than in my hand! Schpugglebogs!
Shaving: Five little nicks that I know of.
Stubbed toe number two of the day, as I moved the chair and sock-glide to make room in the shower. It made me jump, but to a hero and Clint Eastwood lookalike as me, t’was nothing! (Sob!)
The Showering: It went as well as it has for months! Just the four dropsies. Great!
I thought the marks left on the chest arms and legs from the hospital’s electrode stickers were bits of glue. But the nailbrush, loofah, soap, shower gel and elbow grease all failed to remove them? I later tried bleach, without any luck?
Doing the medicalisationing had its moments. The first cock-up was the worst (pain-wise). The Germoloid tube shot out of my hand, (SSS to blame!) and as so often, it hit the wall and fell behind water-closet. I got the picker upperer, put the specs on, leant down to reach the escaped tube, and hit my chin on the raised seat arm when my hand lost its grip on the metal bar! Nicodemus and his neurotransmitters were to blame for this one! I think I’ve knocked another lump of enamel off of the broken tooth now. Cragnaggles!
Harold’s Haemorrhoids were going through the grind with these hard evacuations, gave them some extra ointment this morning.
At least the blood vessel burst eye was looking a lot better now. Got the bob-cap on, then the PP’s, and into the main room to get dressed.
As I was putting the slipper on, I noticed how calm the ankle was looking again. I wonder if the usual ailments have noticed the new intruders, the eye and diabetes, and are taking it easy with me?
I’m known a soliloquist and believer in resistentialism, but now I’m talking to my ailments as it we’re friends? Well, I’m a right little anthropomorphizer!
Jentacular thoughts came to mind. I went to the kitchen to look in the overflowing fridge to see if I fancied anything in p[articular. Not-half! I made up a plate of mini-pork and pickle pies. A disc of Marmite cheese, black grapes, tomatoes, a pickled egg, and strawberry yoghourt. Took it with me to the computer, and had half-an-hour watching YouTube.
But, I got a wobbly carrying it, and dropped and broke the pot of strawberry blancmange or whatever it was. I can inform you though, that when thrown on the floor and trodden on, these desserts make a hell of a mess to clean-up! Humph! Mind you, it also cleans the faux-leather slippers, they came up an absolute treat! I wonder what it would have snow to my stomach if I’d eaten it? Hahaha!
I got both of the drops put in the eye again. Well, when I say in the eye, that’s not exactly right… In the case of the keep-in-the-fridge Chloramphenicol one, most of it ran down my cheek, leaving a brown-yellow trail, and into my mouth, discolouring the moustache en route. This time the gooey Carmellose drops, virtually all of the first couple of squeezes ended up on my clothes or the floor. I said earlier; I don’t think these eye drops will last long!
However, despite these altercations. SSS, and N’s Neurotransmitters, the eye is looking much better now.
I did some more updating on the blog, and the GW (Great Weariness) arrived.
I couldn’t manage to get anything further to eat, Shaking Shaun visiting me now. Not that it mattered much, cause I wasn’t hungry anyway. The stomach started churning, and the passing of wind was getting regular. Oh, dearie me!
I managed to put some of Chloramphenicol, and Carmellose eye drops in. Well, most of it ended up on the face, floor and in my mouth, after discolouring the moustache on its way down the face, to the mouth!
Took the medications. Then I got a bag of Frazzles and a pot of yoghourt, which I got down the gullet alright, but the Docusate medicine flavouring was not nice.
I had a wee-wee, a worryingly long and getting darker orange shade wee-wee. I settled in the £300, second-hand bought, c1968, sickeningly-beige-coloured, not-working, uncomfortable, rusty, rickety recliner, in search of sleep.
The wind escaping from the rear end continued in short bursts, and each time there was a mini-gurgle and or pain from the innards?
23:30hrs: After three hours of bliss, the bladder and bowels woke me with the message that both are in urgent need of being emptied!
I rather hurried the usual battle to get my spare tyred bread basket and body, free of the battered, none-working recliner. Caught my balance, grabbed metal-Micky, and off to the wet room!
Although in such a rush, I couldn’t help but note how noisy the World Wide Hum was this morning.
I got in and sat down, the wee-wee flowed, but the rear-end evacuation, for the fourth time on the trot (It fitted that word did, haha!), was disinclined and uneager to start moving. Out came the crossword book, I took the top photo as I picked it up, and the bottom shot, as things started to activate. Note all the answers I got in? A sign of how long I was sat-sitting there waiting for the movement to begin! I must tell the nurse about this!
It was an unbroken flow this time, no stopping and restarting, the massive torpedo somehow got most of itself under the water. I feared this would need a few refills of the tank to clear away, yet it disappeared in one flush? A smidge messy despite its size, and the bleeding was of concern, I sensed hearing cries from poor old Harold’s Haemorrhoids squealing in pain! A good clean up and some gentle medicating were called for, talk about tender!
On the plus side, the newly cut toenailed feet, had got me about with much less hassle and pain… so far. Which reminded me to have a look at the appointment card that the attractive chiropodist gave me, at the hairdressing salon yesterday, but could I find it? No! I search through my pockets of the clothes I had on at the appointment, shelves, back and checked in the kitchen, the hallway, the three-wheeled walker bag and the carriers hanging from it, the kitchen. But no luck. Ah, I did ask Deana to send me an email to remind me, I think she did that while I was there, that’ll have the details on there later. I do feel a fool!
I consecrated… or even concentrated, (Tsk!), on getting the Friday blog done, it’s getting on now, I do not want any of my mass of fans, admirers and followers to miss this Inchcock Diary. They’d be devastated, both of them. Haha!
I got it done in the end, twas a long slog. Sent it off, then the email link. Went on Facebook catch-up. Then the WordPress comment answering, sone witty stuff on there today.
Realising I had not done the Health Checks yet, I did them. Starting with the Chinese made Harpin Xian Di contactless thermometer. I like this one, it’s so easy to use! The reading was another good one, then, with some trepidation, on to the sphygmomanometerisationing.
Oh, dearie me! The Chinese made Boot’s Sphygmomanometer, to find that the SYS was still way too high, showing 167. The Dia and Pulse were okay, though!
I went to take the medications, and yet again, I had not taken the evening ones! So I did! I’ll take the A.M. ones later on. It’s getting far too often that I miss these. What a pathetic, losing-it, thicko, and cogency-challenged old twit I am! I notice these things you know – but seem incapable of improving my condition.
There was a noise, like rushing water, followed by a short chugging sound? I’d no idea where it came from, but got my Sherlock Holmesian hat on, and went to have a look around, and searched every room in the apartment (All 3 of them!) Nowt found! While I was meandering around pretending I knew what I was doing, the blasted ‘Hum’ now got louder than ever!
Being the ditherer that I am, I got sidetracked and took some pictures from the kitchen window of the morning view. And made a brew of Glengettie tea.
The shakes were noticeable by there absence, and very pleased I was too!
Back to the computer again. After a few hours spent beginning this blog, the taste-buds craved another brew. (Not many wee-wees needed, by the way)
I decided to take the much belated morning medications. And had a good guzzle of the cringingly bitter Docustate medicine, and a Dioctyl® capsule as well. I’ll do my bestest to get the evacuations moving again, somehow. Or not. Hahaha!
I went to open the curtains, and spotted the appointment cards I’d been searching for earlier! Wot a plonka!
The cunning cards had hidden in plain view, on the TV stand in the plastic pen/pencil tray, on top of the DVD player, next to the Alarm Alert box right in front of the television. Even I could not understand how I missed them earlier! It may be all part of the losing-it with age, process? Or perhaps, the mysteries of Woodthorpe Court; the phantoms, kelpies, spectres, poltergeist, spirits, manifestations, zombies, demons, cacodemons, rakshasas, hellions, aliens, extraterrestrials, hobgoblins, apparitions, elfins, pishogues, apparitions, gremlins or Spirits of the dead might be to blame? ( A few terminological inexactitudes sneaked in there, sorry about that!)
I gave up trying to find the source of the noise, and returned to the computer, and updating this post. The noise still bugged me. I went into the wet room again, praying that on pipes had burst and now flowing out water – All calm on the Western Waterworks front, Phew!
I had a look at the ankle ulcer, no wonder it felt so much easier, it had all but disappeared!
Will it return? It doesn’t look likely at the moment. I was well chuffed! Of course, I did not go into anything like a Smug Mode, too risky!
Jenny phoned, bless her cotton socks, asking if I wanted a Christmas Dinner doing. I thanked her for the wonderful kind thought, but there are so many things I’d love to have had, like sprouts, Cranberries, cherries, Sweetcorn, and brassica that I am not allowed to eat nowadays. An amazing woman! She asked if I’d like some minced beef getting on her Tesco order, and I took her up on it, thanking her muchly. ♥
I had the first Dizzy Dennis spell of the day when I was going to get the ablutions done. It got worse, the worst it’s ever been, I decided to abandon the abluting, and get something to eat while I could. Luckily the mince from yesterday is I the saucepan, all I have to do is make chips and warm the saucepan, not that I felt hungry this early. Still, I think things might get worserer before better, the head is spinning, and my concentration is shot to pieces, all in a few minutes. If I can get something to eat, I’m going to get my head down and rest or even sleep if I can. I’m feeling weird and unwell. Feeling terrible. Hopefully, I can add to this in this, if anything happens, to this diary in the morning, or hopefully later tonight.
01:25hrs: I stirred into an ersatz form of semi-life, my not wanting to, with great reluctance… for not only did I need the Porcelain Throne, but I realised I’d only I been in the land of nod for about two hours!
How can I best describe my mood? Grumpy, irritable, disgruntled and somewhat discomposed!
As I untangled my still-tired, rather-prominent, gigantic, wobbly-bellied body from the chair, and rose up onto my poor uncut-toenailed and ulcered feet, to catch my balance; the need for the Throne, encouraged me to cut short the exercises. Hobbling to the wet room, I remembered I have the Iceland delivery coming, and the appointment with the Chiropodist today at 13:30hrs. (Which proved that the brain had kicked into gear earlier than it usually does, Hehe!)
I had livened up a smidge by the time I’d got settled on the Porcelain Throne. Just in time to be fully aware that the evacuation was going to be a struggle! Nothing was going to move of its own accord, as things usually do for me. After, and I’m not joking, about ten-minutes of crosswording, I decided I had no alternative, but to force things along…
From the first agony-ridden inner-push, it must have taken another ten-minutes before anything moved, well there was an initial movement of a very short few seconds duration. It was a matter of giving it some hammer, stopping to recover from the pain and effort, and repeating the process! When things finally restarted, I thought I might split myself in two, crikey was it giving me some stick, in slow motion!
Eventually, a thud and the pressure eased. Oh boy, that had to be one of the worst (most painful) this year! A few minutes, I just sat there, relieved that the removal had been achieved.
When I gingerly got up, the first thing, of course, was TPing. There was not much bleeding, which really surprised me. Harold’s poor old Haemorrhoids were battered and stinging like hell, though! I turned to flush the system, and I did so with no confidence that the dirty great dollop of the evacuated product had the slightest chance of being flushed away, it was gigantic!
To my amazement, everything cleared at the first single flushing? No doubt about it, Constipation Konrad was the easy winner of today’s DESB (Daily-Evacuation-Stakes-Battle with Trotsky Terence, for domination.
I got cleaned up and treated Harolds piles to a wash and gently applied some Germoloid ointment. Ahh, that was good! Unfortunately, I dropped the tube and bent straight down to retrieve it, when I should have used the picker-upperer… The bruise on the shoulder triggered SSS (Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley) off! Cragnanglingeckers!
Now more awake and alert, I returned to get some clothes on, and I spotted last nights medication pot was still full. So I got them taken straight away with some spring water.
Then had a good swig of the damned foul-tasting Docusate Sodium medicine, hoping to avoid going through an evacuation like that again! I remembered to take in the stated minimum of 2 pints (1 ltr) of liquid with it.
I made a brew of Glengettie Gold afterwards. And eat about doing the Health Checks. The Chinese made, Harpin Xian Di contactless thermometer gave a reading in the green again, at 36.8° c. Which happened I noticed when putting in the photos later, was the same as last Friday’s was!
The Sphygmomanometer, Chinese made, and sold by Boot’s, was well up on last Friday, at SYS 178 (158), DIA 84 (76) and the pulse was down at 72 (88). If the SYS stays high over the weekend, I’ll mention it to Nurse Hristina on Monday. That’s a point, will she be calling, cause it is near Christmas, I’ll check the result log for last week.
Ah, yes! I will not miss my beloved, admired, desired, Hristine, the Phlebotomy nurse. Her sweet smile (underneath the mask nowadays, of course), and caring attitude. ♥
I got on the internet, and began to sort out the Thursday updating, and…
I made a brew of Glengettie, had a bag of Frazzles, and got the morning medications taken. Then got the ablutions sorted out early while Mr Fries’ Liberty Global Virgin Internet was dead.
Well, with it being a stand-up session, too ear;y tp use the noisy shower, things went fine! No change of socks until later. A few dropsies, a few nicks shaving. Of course, the medicationing didn’t go painlessly, poor p;d Harold’s Haemorrhoids. Tsk! Other than these, it was an almost normal stand-up wash. The internet came back on (Phew!)
I was just making a start on the blog, and the Iceland man cometh. Looks like I’ve overdone it here?
Hey-ho! I’ve dec,… Hello, a carbuncle or furuncle coming up on the bum I think?
I got the things unpacked and stored away, the fridge and freezer are well stocked once again.
No pain now for fooder, well, garden peas and vinegar maybe. I can see if the mobile shop has any in later on.
I got the minced beef in the crock-pot to cook slowly, then I can add it to the chilli for my dinner this evening, or afternoon, or whenever I get the time and inclination.
When I first put the nice red meat in the pot, it looked delicious.
While putting a few bits away, I nipped back to check on the so-called minced beef. What a colour it had turned to!?!?!
I left it cooking with crossed fingers – not that there were any crossed fingers in the pan like. Hahaha!
I actually got to type some words on the block at long last! Updated some photos, did some comment answering, and sent off the email link I’d forgot to do.
Rechecked on the mince. I had a taste and made some more gravy and added it. I’m now getting a red colour, but only in the juice. This is confusing. Not that I was bothered, it either comes out alright or not. Now I’m getting into the accepting mode again?
I made another brew, Thompsons Punjana this time, and used the milk that had just been delivered. Do you see the size of the bottle? I felt sure I had only ordered a small one.
I uploaded some photos and made a start on this post again. Stopped, and went on Facebooking. Pinterested a snap or two, and back to doing this blog.
The wee-weeing situation was little, and often, there’s not enough bandwidth to keep mentioning them. Humph!
I checked on the Google Calendar to make sure of the foot appointment time.
Herbert joined in with the workers’ chorus for a while. Between them, they actually produced some passable music-like noise, highly commendable. With the drilling being the bass guitars, and Herberts whatever he was using, being the drummer, bass drummer and clanger. When Herbert stopped his tap-tapping, knocking and banging, the noise lost its musicality and became just a ring to put up with. Nice on Herbert!
I persisted with the blogging, took the morning medications. (Well remembered there Inchcock! Hehe!)
The lack of vinegar and tomatoes for Inchies Chilli-Con-Carni creation, dish, bugged me, and then I realised the mobile shop was coming today. I shut down the computer to let in cool, got the three-wheeler trolley walker, filled the box with the small waste bags, and took them to the waste chute.
Got the handwashing done, just two pairs of diabetic bamboo socks. I then got the feet washed, even though I did them earlier, it’s not fair on the toe-cutter; thus, I eliminated any pongs she may otherwise have had to put up with. (Oh, I am a good boy!)
I fought my way out with the trolley-guide, (I can’t understand how I struggled so much, presumably a few mini-dizzies?) I got the bags down the chute.
Then, had a proper performance in getting a lift down to the ground floor. When I did get in the cage, it stopped on the 9th, 7th, 6th and 4th floors, the people waiting at the first three waved me to carry on, not wishing to share the lift, which was fair enough. On the 4th, a chap got in and was telling me that he too had the same problem getting the elevator to stop at his floor, and it took him over twenty-minutes to get this one to stop for him. I felt an affinity with him, Haha!
Down and outside, only a couple of folks waiting for the mobile shop. Angela, who I have missed seeing and talking to, and Josie joined us later. While Angie was being served at the van, her walker guide blew away in the wind, across the road and hit a car parked on the opposite side of the road! I hobbled over with my trolley and retrieved it. I could not see any marks or scratches on the vehicle. Pete, the mobile shop owner, came and collected Angie’s trolley from me for her. Never a dull moment at Windwood Heights! Hehehe!
I got some small apple pies, a bottle of vinegar, he didn’t have any garden peas, and two tomatoes. Not cheap mind, but he has to make a profit. He was selling cars before, but the virus put an end to that. So he got the van and fitted it out, and visits two days, Tuesday and Fridays at the flats for us.
A bit of fame in this photo, for Angie’s husband, Roy. The photo appeared in, of all papers, the Daily Telegraph. That’s Roy at the mobile Shop being served!
Back up to the flat, checked the minced beef. Had a nibble, and it was alright. So I transferred the pot’s contents to the large saucepan on the hob and got the oven warming for later after the toenails had been done, and I can get the part-baked rolls in it.
Got some treats in the trolley, and set off to the Hairdressing Salon. It took me even longer to get a lift down this time! But worserer than that, it was belting down with rain! I was well soaked through, the trolley had rain ibn the bag as did the carriers… miserable feeling!
I sat on the settee in the lobby of Winwood Court, as I was a little early arriving. It took me a while to get down, the settee is far too low for us old folks. Got the crossword book out, but it had got sprinkled with the rainwater, not that it mattered much because I’d forgotten to take a pen with me. Humph!
A minute later, a young lady came out to me, asking if I needed the nail cutting, and she could do me now. The battle to get back up again out of the low settee, took me a while.
After getting all of my details as I sanitised my hands, I was led by Sarah, to a large black swivel chair, with a footstool with extra padding on it. Then warned that the chair was not stable and might move. We chatted all through the few minutes cutting of the nails. Which was super-nice!
They arranged for another visit and booked it for 12th February for another nail-cutting job. A card was given to me, but with me wearing different clothes, I feared I may forget about the cards and putting the date in my calendar.
I thanked the ladies, paid the £25, and as I was leaving the salon, I realised that this was the first time I’d been in any hairdressers for over fifty years! No need to, with no hair on the head, Hahaha!
I dropped the bag off and sat hoping for the rain to ease off, before the walk back to the flats. Deana appeared, and asked me why I was sat there, was I waiting to see her? Told her I was waiting for the rain to ease off, so I didn’t get soaked again. Julie kindly walked with me through the closed walk-through passage and opened the end door for me into Woodthorpe Court, bless her.
Not only did the walk back (green), compared to the walk there (yellow) take less time and distance, but it saved me from another soaking.
My only aim when I got in, was getting the Chilli-Con-Carne done and scoffing it! Put the rolls in the ready-heated oven, and warmed the saucepan. Ten minutes later, I was serving up the feast!
The meal tasted great! Somehow through my faffing about with the seasonings, it came out better than I ever hoped. I wallowed in eating it, masticating slowly to appreciate the flavour. 9/10 for this one!
As I was doing the pot cleaning, one of the infamous sudden bouts of WTC (weariness, tiredness and complete lack of concentration) dawned on me. That was then of my doing or even thinking about anything else, bar sleep!
Stripped and into the jammie bottoms. Plonked onto the recliner, turned the TV on, fell asleep within minutes (Mind you, I needed it aster last nights pathetic two-hour kip), this time it went betterer, I got three hours unbroken rest, before waking in urgent need of the Porcelain Throne.
00:15hrs: After a good solid 4 hours of heavenly bliss in the arms of Sweet Morpheus, I stirred with the need of a wee-wee, followed seconds later with an urge to utilise the Porcelain Throne.
Thus, the diurnal struggle began, to free my mastodonic, oversized, bouncing flabby-stomached torso from the £300, second-hand, c1968, unsteady, not-working, uncomfortable, sickenly beige-coloured, haemorrhoid-testing recliner. It was a good job that there was no urgency about the evacuations needed, cause it took me a while to get myself sorted out enough to actually get to the wet-room.
I got the central mass of flesh over the end of the chair, rear-end part-way over the cushion, and using the arms of the recliner as an aid, pushed my lumbering body up to get on my feet. Half-way up, and the right arm had a visit from Nicodemus’s neurotransmitters failing, and the arm slipped off of the chair arm, knocked a bottle of spring water off of the ottoman, clouted the shoulder, and the body-mass clumped back onto the recliner! Argh!
Making things even more severe for Harolds Haemorrhoids, who took the brunt, as I landed, missing the precious pain-saving cushion ring, making the pain somewhat worse!
But it didn’t bother me, I’m used to such things happening, I merely smiled to myself, laughed, and… Oh, alright! I cringed, pulled faces, silently swore, and lay there (I considered crying) feeling the warm wet sensation coming from my beleaguered piles into the Protection Pants!
This caused a semi-panic mode, and I somehow or other got back up, carefully but as quickly as I dare, caught my balance, and ‘Oh, so painfully’ hobbled to the toilet. I wasn’t exactly sure what to do first, but the wee-wee won, as I sat down, I got the crossword book out. As the tinkling from the weak wee-weeing began, I had a look at the first crossword clue, that was as far as I got with it – the rear-end evacuation started and finished in about a minute!
I was flabbergasted! The DESB (Daily-Evacuation-Stakes-Battle) this morning between Trotsky Terence and Constipation Konrad, was a draw. The scene afterwards, looked like could have been from the ‘Hostel’ movie!
Medicated and sanitised the low rear end, and then medicated with the Germoloid ointment. Opened another pack of too small Tena’s I got from Amazon after Sainsbury’s had substituted the wrong sized too-small PPs. That didn’t work, did it! I’m a lucky bugger!
I had a good cleaning up of the bowl and got the old bloodied PPs packed away for the contaminated box. Had a final wash and wiped the contact points, and off to get the Health Checks done. I felt like I’d been up for hours!
Started with the Boot’s sphygmomanometerisationing: The sys was up again, to 168 this time. The pulse was also higher than usual, at 93, this may have something to do with the evacuational problems I’d just suffered, I expect.
The Harpin Xian Di thermometer read as 36.3°c.
Then I got the medications taken for last night – Yes, I foolishly missed them again! Spurgledamnations! Must remember to take the morning ones later.
I got on with updating the Tuesday blog. Hours later, I’d got it finished and posted it off.
Sent the Email link off. Pinterested a couple of photographs, and launched into what turned out to be a two-hour session of Facebooking! Then went on the WordPress Reader.
Aha, time to do a search of the skies to see if I can see Venus and or the moon. Well, you can’t really see it, I didn’t, but one of them on closer examination of the picture, was there, just! Sqwiggle up close to the photo, screw your eyes up, go about three inches from the screen, and you might see it (Venus?) in the box I drew. I hope!
I made the first brew of the day around 06:30hrs, then took the morning medications, and I did some more updating.
I got the ablutions sorted out. Not a good session, but hardly worth mentioning really. (I lost the page of notes wot I wrote about this, and a day later, it’s all a blank memory-wise!) Chungleblast! However, photos found triggered the memory of the Sock-Glide Battle! I lost 3-0!
Each sock, in turn, gave me exactly the same problems. The uncut nails got trapped in the mesh of the diabetic socks, causing a few tears in the material!
Both big toes, I found out later, couldn’t see them at the time, had the nails so distorted, they bled!
I’ve got new bruises on the fingers.
Arthur Itis and Cartilage Cathy kicked off with the straining, pulling and pushing!
I also found out when putting on one of the new Amazon supplied PPs (Protection Pants), that this pack had considerably smaller sizes in it!
It wasn’t right. I decided to see if I could get an appointment with the Cost-a-Fortune woman who does feet one half-day a week at the Winwood Court. I’ll call in to ask Deana about it.
I got the hand-washing done, wrung and hung. Only did a woolly hat and the pair of yesterdays socks.
I decided in an instant, I would go to town today. (In the morning, I made a blog about this trip to town) chiro
As soon as the Porcelain Session was dealt with, which went tremendously well. Well, a lot of bleeding, but still. I go myself sorted-out ready, in a fashion, and set off on my escape.
Getting out of the door should have told me something, like perhaps, Stay in, this bodes not well! I gave my left for a right stinging crack on the trolley guide wheels. The toenails gave me agony!
I got down to the ground floor and through the attractive, highly decorative, homely lift lobby. Hehehe! Can’t be helped, the decorators are in.
I left through the fronts doors (which seemed a sensible option, Haha!, I am a fool!) I limped along to the recycle bin and put the jars and bottles in it. Then hirpled along to Winwood Court and spoke with Wardens Deana and Julie, asking about the Chiropodist situation. Told me to ask at the hairdressing salon. So, I did! I
I visited the Windwood Extra Care Court’s hairdressing salon. A lady came to me and asked what I was after, and I told her. I was wondering if I could get the foot-lady to cut my toenails? The lady kindly gave me a card when I said I might forget Hehe! Apparently, the Chiropodist only calls for one-afternoon a week, on a Friday. She starts at 13:00hrs. Which is understandable, because she charges too much and doesn’t get too many customers. But Covid-19 has been kind to her.
I thanked the woman, said cheerio to Deana and Julie was I passed their holding and interrogation cell and departed outside.
I took the opportunity to take some photographs of Winwood Court. First a view of Winchester Court from outside the Winwood Extra Care Court.
I then hand a limp around the back of Winchester Court, to take a photo showing part of the Woodthorpe Grange Park greenery.
It was quiet out there, apart from the blustery wind. And I had a mini-thought storm. I pondered on the first time I visited the flats, with a view to my moving in, and my first gut reactions. ‘No way, its desolate, depressing and so out of the way!’ I decided against moving. But when I heard later that there was a bus service, I revisited. Glad I did now! Funny how things change. So many things have happened since healthwise. Getting peripheral neuropathy, having the stroke, diabetes, and then Molluscum Contagiosum, and Atopic dermatitis… I’m so pleased to be here.
The upgrading that started in 2017 will shortly be finished, I hope. And the toes were not hurting so much now. This would soon change into a persistent pain syndrome, the more I walked! Ah, well, serves me right!
I turned to go back to the frontage of the complex. I knew without looking at my watch, that it wasn’t time for the bus yet, not enough tenants waiting at the bus stop.
I got to the shelter and waited, and the first bus, an L9 arrived. Thus started my trip to town and escape from the lockdown! All covered in the blog link above.
I got off of the number 40 bus that brought me home from the tiring, exhausting, Accifauxpa and embarrassment riddled little visit to the town of Nottingham. I got the three-wheeled walker guide, with the three shopping bags of stuff hanging onto it, off of the bus with no mishaps. Took this picture as I made my way to by beloved Woodthorpe Court at the end of Chestnut Walk, it seemed such a long way, so worn to was I. (Poor thing! Hahaha!)
I put the shopping away and got the much-needed nosh sorted. A feast of sorts this one, and contained, Crispy bacon, mini pork pie, ready-mase BLT sarnie, pickled cabbage and egg, beetroot, a Marmite cheese disc, and the last of the potato letters. I suppose it was I felt so drained and was feeling ravenous after the hobbling about, that I gave this an 8.5/10 for flavour! Even though I couldn’t eat it all up.
I got the pots in the bowl soaking, and was soon down in the recliner, in need of Sweet Morpheus more than usual. He obliged! ZZZ!
TFZer Keith solves his accommodation problem. Hehe!
I hope the Harold Shipman-admiring apothecarist will be investigated when I snuff-it? Hehe! (Details below, dang, dang, dang… Dang!)
Sunday 6th December 2020
Dutch: Zondag 6 December 2020
01:15hrs: I stirred, shuffled, and a blasting emission from the read end that set Harolds Haemorrhoids stinging convinced me to escape out of the £300, second-hand, c1968, cringingly-beige-coloured, not-working, rickety recliner. I caught my balance and limped to the wet room and the awaiting the Porcelain Throne.
But regrettably, things didn’t go well at all in there this morning! I was in plenty of time and seated my rhinoceros but wobbly -shaped body down, and in anticipation of a long session, like yesterday’s, I grabbed the crossword book, like yesterday. I wasn’t disappointed!
Trotsky Terence was again thrashed by Constipation Konrad in the PTDDS (Porcelain Throne Daily Domination Stakes). The pain grew worse as things kept starting and stopping mid-stream several times. When the evacuation finally and blissfully stopped, there lied a rock-solid light grey torpedo, steaming and proudly ticking-up out of the water, fin end up! Gawd, what a relief! How in hell, that monster was cleared with one flush, I’ll never know?
I washed and cleaned up, ointmentated the delicate regions, and as I was leaving, I spotted the mildew killer that I’d sprayed on the bad spots of the floor yesterday. It looked to me like by forgetting to go back and rinse it away, I may end up with the floor looking worse than if I’d not meddled with it in the first place. (My life has been a little like that, not to mention the errors, bad choices, and… I’d better stop, there are too many woebegone, voodooed, hapless, Jonah-like and ill-fated things to mention. Haha!)
I got the Health Checks done, Sys still high.
And the body temperature was once again very fair indeed!
I got the new packs of medications out of the prescription bag, putting them with the Enoxaparin and yellow-dirty bin on the fairer, and made a brew of Glengettie.
I took a moody shot of the view from the unwanted, disliked, impossible to get cleaned, kitchen windows. I tried to get the Christmas light in it, and the street lights that gave me the impression, that I’d soon see the Three-Wise-Men coming into view. Hahaha!
Unbelievable!
Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Carrington, Nottingham NG5 2DA, were playing with me again. I cannot win with them! Fair enough, they were kind enough to deliver this month’s prescriptions and sent a beautiful young lady to deliver them… but they never fail to take the piss, short deliver, send the wrong amount of medications etc. but this time…
They sent to packs of pods, without any seals of them! When I opened the first one, without my realising, (they are always transparent)
The pills and capsule bounded, shot and flew out all over the place! Some ending up on the floor, I found others on the recliner, others on the floor! Two in the hallway, two in waste bin! I ended up painfully bending on my knees to gather up as many as I could, but there were and still are five absentees that escaped and hid somewhere they are not to be found!
Getting back up, I hit my shoulder on the doorframe as I pulled myself up, and now the previously today, well-tempered SSS (Shuddering Shoulder Shirley) is giving me some mild agony! Flibblegonknackles!
Glunglegnatsworth Then, I had the impossible task of sorting the tablets out to get back in the pods! I had to end up guessing which was which, and some of the escapees were never found. The photo here is one of each of the three medications, you can see how hard it is to identify them. Glunglegnatsworthy!
I ended up having to use the old pods from when I made my own up, but it wasn’t easy. I dropped a few tablets with the shaking right hand (Nicodemus’s neurotransmitters) and even more were lost, or rather couldn’t be found. So through no fault of my own, I’m going to be short of medications again! That is if I don’t kill myself first by taking the wrong medications?. Granglesknackersbuggerit!
I lost hours, thank you to, Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Carrington, Nottingham NG5 2DA. Tel: 0115 9605453.
I’ve no confidence in my having got any of the medication pots right. Gumph!
At long last, I get on the computer to update yesterday’s blog. A mixture of anger, hatred, frustration and fear slowed me up, oh, and Nicodemus didn’t help.
A second-summoning to the Porcelain Throne arrived. With a sort of panicky-dread, I got the wetroom and found that exactly (almost) the same type of evacuation was suffered, as the first one! But the whole thing was over so much quicker this time.
I was getting a smidge depressed now, I could still not believe what the Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Carrington, Nottingham NG5 2DA, next to the pub and Lidls had done to me! Concentration and coping with SSS was getting me down.
I decided to get some belated breakfast. I pot noodle with added gravy, and the last three slices of bread thins. Nae matter, I’ve got some part-baked baguettes to use. I must get a food order done later on.
I’d try Morrisons, but am not prepared to take their substitutes, the smaller Protection Pants they subbed, could have been returned I suppose, but would the driver wait for me to try a pair on, the accept them back having opened the pack? I think not. I dare not risk getting AAA batteries in place of toothpaste again! It’ll have to be Sainsbury’s then. They are not any better substitutors, though. Instead of bread, they subbed pikelets last time! My own thoughts are winding me up now! Skullclogglebonks!
Time to get Josie’s meal cooked and served soon, I’d better get the ablutions sorted. The session went well. Too well, it was worrying, in fact. A grand total of only seven dropsies (Oh, Yes!), no, I say NO shaving cuts, no dizzies, no knocking anything over, toe-stubbing or walking into anything! Just when I was feeling down and sorry for myself (Thank you, Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Carrington, Nottingham NG5 2DA), this happens, and I bounce down to depression Defcon Three! Hahaha! One thing though, as I anticipated, mt leaving the scourer on the floor overnight, has made it look worse than ever now. Tsk! Always summat int there?
I got the handwashing sone, rung and hung. Almost forgot about Josie’s nosh, guilt-mode adopted!
I pressed on keeping my eye on the clock. No much coking in this feast for the gal, fresh tomatoes, last of the pickled eggs, cooked beetroot, Mackerel in BBQ sauce, and my world-famous cheesy potatoes… well, Josie, Jane and Pete like them?
A few minutes before midday, at the time the Madam likes her Chef to deliver the Sunday meal, I arrived at Josie’s front door and rang the bells (well, I thought it was a good idea, yer, see). I handed Josie the tray of fodder, with the Rum & Coke drinky, and Limoncello dessert. We had a short natter, and I took this photographicalisation of Josie and her tray. The gal seemed happy enough with it, bless her.
I set to washing up the cooking pots and pans. During which, I knocked a measuring jug and funnel off of the draining board. I thought it rather funny, finding a missing potatoes letter from yesterdays Accifauxpas when I got down to retrieve the jug. The letter Y, why I asked myself. Hehehe!
Then, reaching down near the cooker for the funnel, I came across a diamond-hard pea! So long since I had any fresh garden peas? Giggle! Shows there is hope for maybe finding some of the missing tablets, yet?
Took the photo of the end car park at the side of the flats. Oddly, all the vehicles in view were either red or black. The Mafia, and the FBI, came to mind?
Note the new Balcony pods? Well, they are not new now, are they?
Back on the updating of this blog. Hours flashed by, as did the getting my head down, thank you, Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Carrington, Nottingham NG5 2DA. Tel: 0115 9605453.
For some reason, possibly Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Carrington, Nottingham NG5 2DA. Tel: 0115 9605453, I was not really hungry now. Humph! But this soon changed after Roger Reflux started working, and had rid itself of a symphony of wind. So, I got on with the Chilli Con Carne and meatball nosh.
I soon had it digested. Tasty enough too. A Flavour-Rating of 7.5/10.
Then took the Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Carrington, collated, dispensed, and inspired, “Risk-Yer-Life’, ‘Take Pot-Luck’, ‘Cross Yer Fingers’, medications.
Got down to get some kip, which arrived quickly, but did not last long. I woke up at midnight, sickenly with a jolt, that put a ban and the mockers, on getting back to sleep. Humph!
23:45hrs: I woke up suddenly, to suffer the headache-giving wild Thought-Storms bounding about ricochetting off of each other, and making little sense, as they fought each other to be the one to send me daft, demented or doolally! I had a minute or two of semi-panic.
Now, this is hard for me to explain with any clarity, but, I’ll try: I was (I think) dreaming it – and seemed to wake up a second time, and the flaming Thought-Storms were still there! They then died away within seconds, and Anne Gyna took over as the worrying-stakes lead-tormenter. Gawd almighty, she was giving me some stick!
No wee-wee or Porcelain-Throne visits were needed, so I knew something in the brain, body or both was amiss!
I battled bravely and got my Brobdingnagian-blubbery-bellied body up onto its feet. Taking extra care to avoid another Accifauxpa like yesterday (Harolds Haemorrhoids are still suffering from it!). I took my time and did the balance-regaining exercises, following the instructions (painfully) from the After-Stroke Team to the letter! And made my way into the kitchenette, to get the important thing done – make a brew of Glengettie tea. Snortle!
The wee-weeing started, let’s take it as if they were approximately three-an-hour, that’ll save me time and typing. Thank you.
I got the kettle on, made the brew, and got the Health checks done. The Boot’s BP sphygmomanometer didn’t work first time again, did on the second attempt. Giving a slightly lower SYS of 161, and a higher DIA of 80. The pulse was spot on the button, at 70 BPM.
The new contactless thermometer gave a satisfactory 35.°c reading. In the green again. Yee-Haa!
When it came to taking the medications – Boing! I found I’d missed taking last night’s pot, again! So took the evening ones and added a Dioctyl® poop-softener capsule. I will take the morning ones, later on, around 5-6 o’clock, but must remember to take out the Dioctyl®!
Started the updating of the Thursday IT diary. And it took me hours and hours. Not because of Nicodemus, BPB, SSS or Neuropathy Pete dancing, indeed only BPB was any bother at all, and she was a lot less harrowing than yesterday! (Inward-Smile emerging). Anne Gyna was still in destruct-mode, but this did not affect my typing at all, my concentration, yes! The photographs I’d taken yesterday, on my ill-judged trip to town were the greatest time-taker-upper job.
I pressed on merrily and got the updating finished. It cost me until 05:00hrs, but I was reasonably pleased with the results. Got the blog posted off to WordPress. Pinterested some snaps and emailed the link. Then the overdue summoning to the Porcelain Throne arrived. So, I wobbled off to the wet room.
I get confused at how the evacuations change in style every day lately. This morning’s effort had Constipation Konrad as the clear 2-0 winner over Trotsky Terence. Which meant the pain when passing had to be endured again. That, I wasn’t too pleased about.
So I took an extra Dioctyl® poop-softener capsule afterwards, as I made a new mug, this time of Thompsons Punjana tea, and got back to the computing. I did the Facebook updating first, then answered some WordPress comments, well, The comment. Hehe!
I went on the WordPress Reader section, some great stuff on there today. Then I started on today’s post. I was getting into it and realised I’d not drank the Punjana! So went to make a brew of Glengettie to replace the gone cold tea. (I do a lot of that!)
05:20hrs now, I took the belated morning medications, but forgot to take the poo-softener out of the pot first! Now I could be in more bother! The next visit to the Throne could well be one of the messier variety! Message to Self: Concentrate when taking your tablets. Idiot!
I received the local Email letter, and a few items were of disappointing news:
65 Covid Deaths reported in Nottinghamshire in seven days!
Nottingham has been plunged into Tier 3
Time for some brekkers methinks. I got some potatoes in the crock-pot.
The top came off pf the Soy sauce bottle, and instead of a couple of shakes of sauce going in, it was half the bottle! Hehehe!
I made the breakfast-noodles, adding some gravy seasoning to it. I shan’t be adding gravy seasoning to any more of them; it was not very nice.
Then, I turned my keen, educated, efficient, diligent, alert, receptive, bright, and concentratedly-reliable attentions, to getting the Ablutions done.
The session went reasonably well; apart from the teeth bleeding, three cuts shaving, a mega-drop of the showerhead that hit me on the knee with a fair wallop, a bang against the left grab-rail – quickly followed by a knock against the right grab-rail. The cap came off of the lemon shower gel, and (albeit not too bad a one), a toe-stubbing on the sock-glide. I knocked over the Germolene, Olive oil dropper and the Daktacort. (the Daktacort is still missing), and approximately twelve dropsies, it went well.
I finished the medications, got dressed, and sorted out some waste bags to go to the chute room. Added the bottles for the glass bin to the box, on the trolley and off out, to the chute first, then down and Stewart took the bottles from me. I limped along to see omnipresent Obergruppenführeress, ILC, Pole Dancer, and Warden Deana, to ask for help with sorting the prescriptions out for next month.
She was in when I arrived, but busy, of course. I explained about someone from Carrington Pharmacy, 343-345 Mansfield Rd, Carrington, Nottingham NG5 2DA, Telephone number: 0115 960 5453, just up from the Lidl store, told the Doctors receptionist they would not delivery the prescriptions anymore. I needed clarification on this, before next Friday when they are due. Whichever, yay or nae to delivering, I need to know the date I can arrange to pick them up, then a volunteer needs to be searched for, this is why I am asking a week in advance, last month there was no answer to Deana’s calls at all. But, they are Volunteers! Deana will call them next week, Monday or Tuesday for me. I thanked her and returned to the Woodthorpe lobby.
Back up to the flat and set to work on updating this blog.
The landline chimed out and burst-forth with flashing. It was Sister Jane, I got an update with their medicalisational activities. They are as busy as I am nowadays.
Pete has to have another Cat Scan, then meet with his Doctor this Monday, then on
Jane & Pete
the following Monday, a Pet Scan, and meet his Doctor. Then, has to have his bone-morrow tested again! Porr cocker! The lad is not used to all this medicationalisationing stuff. But he’s catching up, and I think coping well with it.
Jane says she is catching up with me in the Whoopsiedangleplop stakes Haha! She’s put two does of drops in her eye this morning! (Copy-Cat! Hahaha!) She thinks there is some shadow recognition, no proper vision yet. Well done, Pete and Jane!
Well, I must get some graphics done in advance, and I hope I can stay awake long enough to get some templates made up for future use for the diaries.
As I struggled to glean enough concentration from working on CorelDraw and WordPress to make the headers, Herbert kicked off ith his noise again. I was tired again and irritable with myself. Constantly making mistakes and having to correct them, making the time tool grow by hours! It was well passed my head-down time, but a new determination and commitment to get them done was with me.
Herbert continued with his clattering, I wonder what he is making, I’ve never heard these type of reverberating noises before. Still, him being a deipnosophist, garrulous, or a lover of persiflage. More a sort of taciturn chap. So, I’ll never know. Hehe!
I’ve never had a train set, you know. Just thought I’d mention it!
Suddenly it was getting dark. I made a brew and took this picture.
Although I was struggling with my concentration on CorelDrawing and the template making, I was enjoying doing it, especially after Herbert had quietened down bless him.
I took a break, made a brew, had a wee-wee, and got the Cilli-Con-Carne with added passata and gravy in the saucepan, and got two brown baguettes out to oven bake later to have with the meal.
Little did I know that it would be several more hours before this occurred! On and on with the template-making, I plodded, but in a semi-contented fashion, I admit. Saccades Sandra was making vision difficult.
But then Nicodemus’s Neurotransmitters, reconnected, and for hours! I made the most of it, and continued graphicalisationing with gusto!
I had another break, and went to check on the cooking, turned the heat down, had a wee-wee, washed, and when I returned to the kitchen, I took a photo of the beautiful night sky. Took the first shot, and viewing it, though, hell there’s a fire on the horizon in Nottingham?
I took two more zoomed-in pictures. It seemed to me that they were coming from near the Victoria flats? I got the news on the computer, but there was no mention of any fire in Nottingham?
I, at long last, got them all completed (The templates). A mixture of pride and weariness was being enjoyed… When I smelt the burning! Argh!
Oh, dearie me! The baguettes are going to need soaking in gravy to eat them without breaking any more teeth! Guffaff!
So, I turned off the computer and served up the meal. But there was no way I could eat much of it, I was just too drained mentally.
Most of it was thrown out, bread and yoghourt as well. A lot of cleaning up was tended to as well. I took a shot of the late evening view, imbibed the medications, had a wee-wee, washed, and checked the kitchen for anything left dangerously.
I think I may have scorched the skin a bit when I got the baguettes out of the oven, only to throw them away. Humph!
Stripped off, got the jammie bottoms on, and down into the c1968 recliner.
Getting to sleep was no problem tonight. Mind you, it was five hours later than my usual kipping time. I just knew it was going to be a marathon, and getting up would be an unwilling struggle.
01:25hrs: As I stirred into imitation life, I spotted the untaken evening medications pot. I wondered why I’ve suddenly started to miss taking them so often, lately?
My mind was working away, alright. No thought-storming, just a gentle, unfathomable dribble of inanities, and confusion of half-worked out worries and problems – that dissipated as quickly as they arrived? Being replaced in perpetuity, with the need for a wee-wee.
I encouraged the even greater-sized, fat-covered stomach to join the rest of the body in getting out of the £300, second-hand, c1968, cringingly beige-coloured, unkempt, fluctuant, ramshackle, broken-down, uncomfortable, dusty, rusty, decaying, rachitic, tatterdemalion, heavy yet tottery, rickety recliner. Some gnawing pains and a eurgh or two, a couple of boing-boings as the body-mass settled, and I was up catching my balance – but not well enough!
My balance did not equilibrise, and I tumbled back down into the recliner with a sickening thud! I hope that the neighbours didn’t hear it!
Which promptly set off BPB (Back-Pain Brenda), PKCCP (Proximal Knee-Cap-Cartilage-Pain), and Little Inchies fungal lesion bleeding. Not to mention that I clouted my right elbow on the arm of the chair! I had to get back up to check the injuries over and clean up the fungal lesion.
Usually, I’d do this in the wet room, but had a tube of the Daktacort on the ottoman with the Health Check stuff. So I got on with most awkward and painful needs first—cleaning and stopping Little Inchies fungal lesion bleeding, and applying the cortisone ointment.
Which, of course, was of no bother to a brave, heroic, healthy, young man like me. (Snortle!) Argh!
I used the also handily placed Phorpain gel, on the knees, and where I could reach around the folds of gross flab around the midriff, to BPB’s dwellings. A reasonably well-sized bruise was developing on the elbow.
Well, I’ve been awake for how long now? Ages! And I am still within four feet of the rickety-recliner, and still desperate for a wee-wee! Positively, not one of the best starts to a day I’ve not.
I considered having a few more words via prayer, with the Boss. But, being as my last week’s ecclesiastical discussion didn’t help any, I went for a wee-wee instead! A need for the Porcelain Throne arrived at the same time.
This session was the easiest, and least painful one I’ve had in months! Messy? Oh, yes! Due to Trotsky Terence winning the fight with Constipation Konrad, hands-down this morning! But, hey, the lack of pain and concrete torpedo removing, this was nae problem for me. I’m using up the bleach, and the once large kitchen towel stocks at a pace, mind. Hahaha! I’ve plenty of toilet paper rolls in yet, though.
I took two photographs of the morning view when I made a brew of Glengettie tea.
The moon seemed a little fuller this morning. I tried a wide shot, and it came out half-fairish with the lights.
Then I got the Health Checks done. The new thermometer colour had gone back to green, as a result, was down to an acceptable figure, I assume, 37°c.
Then the sphygmomanometerisationing. It didn’t work the first time, but okay on the next one. The SYS was still a tad high, the same as yesterday, I think.
I made a start on updating the Thursday blog and stuck with it. Dedicated, persistent, tenacious and indefatigability, like never before! But it still took me hours to get it done. Thanks to Nicodus’s Neurotransmitter relentlessly going off and coming back on-line with the brain. I admit to feeling a little smidgeon of pride when I eventually got it finished and posted-off to WordPress.
I even remembered to take the late morning medications! Swank-Mode-Grade 2 adopted!
Sent the email link off. Then did some Facebooking catching up.
I had a pot noodle for brekkers, but the photograph I took of it has done a bunk from the SD card – again! I did some comment replying on WordPress and had a look at the gallery of new stuff. Some cracking photos on there today!
I took another window view picture, zoomed in this time, on the Sherwood Health Centre area.
Then I tended to the ablutions next.
A right mixed bag of incidents, good and bad today.
The dropsies we variable and Nicodemus kept making and losing contact with the neurotransmitters. Fair enough, that’s to be expected. Most items were dropped, some several times, like the toothbrush, razors, soap and shower gel bottle.
The tiniest of cuts shaving on the lip had to be ‘after-shaved’ to stop it bleeding. Ooh! However. Showering, not a single dizzy hit me!
I couldn’t see it, but I got a reasonable picture of it all the same. That I assume to be from the plopping back down on the haemorrhoids and hitting the elbow on the recliner arm earlier?
I dropped the towel and grabbed the shower chair to lean on to lower my rotund but horrendously wobbly-fleshed body down to retrieve it… I may have got another bruise as I hit my shoulder on the metal seat support. Ah, well!
The feet and pins looked really good and almost normal. Finished drying off, got the deodorants on, and did the medicating. I was surprised at how little piles had bled, considering the strength of the wallop I gave them going back down in the seat. Mixed results then?
I did some updating of this blog.
Then took a snap of the weather outside through the balcony windows glass. Frosty on the ground, a few droplets of rain, not much wind, and the cold sun trying to come out.
This decided me, I am going out later. Only on the bus to town, and calling in the Poundland shop, to try and get some cheap disinfectant, toothpaste, pork pie, and if they have any, cheap canned garden peas. Then I can not bother to use Morrisons again!
I turned the computer turned off, dug around to find the bus pass, keys, etc. Then, I went through the ‘Bag-of-nerves’ routine of double-checking things before leaving and set off.
Lift down to the ground floor. The upgraders were busy working on the lift and main lobby areas.
I was careful going through not to hit or fall over anything. And got the trolley through to the front doors, and exited safely out into the cold sunshine.
I hobbled along and called in Winwood Court to ask Deana if she could help with next weeks Carrington Pharmacy prescription collecting. No one in the holding cells, so I exited and went out to the bus stop on Chestnut Walk.
A few folks out there. Caught the L9 to town. This was the worst-ever bus ride to town. I’d forgotten all about the problem I had last time I went on a bus, it was that long ago, and immediately wished I’d not gone out. The battle of having to hold onto the trolley as I sat there was hard work at every hill and corner the bus took.
The driver, as he dropped of the few passengers he had, told me not to get off here, and he moved up to get close to the kerb for me to alight. That was nice of him, and I got off unhurt! Hehe!
I walked wearily down Queen Street, and Dizzy Dennis and BPB both kicked off. I decided then, I’d get to the Slab Square and walk to the Poundland Shop, try to get the fodder, and go straight back to the bus stop. I wasn’t feeling too good.
The shop did not have any of the things I wanted, apart from the milk pots and disinfectant. But of course, as is my want & bad habit, I went into a ‘buy-it-anyway’ mode. I ended up amassing Whirls, the milk pots, Dettol disinfectant, toothpaste (Yes eve more, but they were £1, Morrisons are £1.50), Toffeefees, Oxo cubes, and chip-shop gravy granules in the basket.
I must have looked worse than how I felt, cause a young lady at the self-serve tills, took one look at me and said she’d put them through for me, asking if I was alright, as I looked very ashen. Another lady inquired if I’d like her to call for an ambulance? The assistant lady put my things through for me, showing concern for my health still. I gave a can of the Gin & tonic from the trolley thanking her.
A bit unnerving that was! Fair does, I was feeling a tad rough, but I must have looked at death’s door. Still, if that’s what it takes to get some attention from females. Hahaha!
I got outside, rearranged the trolley and bag for easier handling, and made my way through Slab Square to the bus stop.
The git of a Pavement Cyclist came from behind me, I felt a draught, he came that close to me! Straight over South Parade without stopping, into the square. He was delivering food to somebody. I hope they enjoy it.
Naturally, this did not bother me at all. Oy. Oy, Oy!
As I got to the top of Queen Street, as the bus was just coming in, a couple of ladies waiting, inquired if I was poorly! This was getting worrying now! Hehe!
Another horrendously painful trip home, worse now I had the extra weight in the trolley to keep a hold of.
Getting off of the bus at the flats, was dodgy, it was a good distance from the bus to the pavement to cover. The waiting inmates at the stop, each offered an odd stare to me, but said nothing? I checked my flies, they were secure!
I hobbled to the wardens holding cell to ask about help for the prescriptions, but no one in again. Can’t be helped, I’ve almost a week to try and sort it yet. If the memory doesn’t let me down, Har-Har!
I got back to the apartment and battled to get the trolley through the door, and new fatigue came over me. I was done in!
I unloaded the purchases, Dizzy Dennis and Conrad Confusion took control. I proceeded to get the Chilli-Coon-Carne with baked beans, and gravy added, burning the saucepan in the process. I scraped the saucepan and left it in soak.
The meal was devoured with delight, even though I think I fell asleep eating it at one point? Conrad Confusion was taking a firmer grip on me.
Perhaps it was because I felt so weary, but the meal was only given a 7/10 (on notepad). I cant, read the rest of the scribble, so don’t know why.
Cleaned up the saucepan and pots, I must have, they were all washed and dried when I woke up later on.
I took the evening medications early and was soon in the land of nod.
Waking up still a tad confused just before midnight. Not in a confident frame of mind, and Conrad Confusion present again. And the Thought-Storms active. Flibblegonkackles!
