On another day, I may have called them mind-blanks or PN Seizures. But not today! I think I enjoyed them. Not that I am aware of what they contained, but it is a sensation of, well, a degree of self-satisfaction and a rare understanding of things. No, I never felt an understanding of things before!
Of course, I can’t recall what they were. Tsk!
Hopefully, these little mental gems I write may help someone working in psychiatry, occupational therapy, Community Mental Health, or counselling glean whatever I’m waffling on about. They may kindly inform me of their findings afterwards. It would be nice to know why I wrote them in the first place. A plea for help, mayhap?
04:10hrs: The nocturnal catheter colour was much improved. Also, was much less than it has been.
A terrible photo of the morning view.
Mostly liquid sludge!
The right leg was looking good again. Of course, were hitting me throughout the day, but nothing as bad as they were when I was supposed to be sleeping. Every one of them woke me up (well, they would, I guess), but I soon nodded off again, awaiting the next one to arrive. The pain from them only lasted for a couple of seconds.
Carer arrived as I was starting to update the blog. Back to the blogging, photographs being uploaded from the … and… The Pictures folder suddenly went into full-screen mode! I imagine I hit the wrong combination on the keyboard. () But there were no resize buttons on the tabs, and the arrows to resize were not working either. What a mess I got into trying to sort it out. I asked Google, copied down the procedure given, and followed it. Of course, it didn’t work.
I thought I must have copied it wrongly, so I tried again. The problem was that when I went to the picture window, it blocked out all the advice on the Google page! I checked the procedure and wrote it down more clearly. Then I tried again. No Luck!
I went back to Google and searched for other advice there. Many were too technical for me to understand.
I found one. To get to the list, I had to press the F button, scroll down to Size, and press Enter. Size was the first item on the list, but it was not highlighted, so I couldn’t get into it to follow the rest of the advice.
Then, I tried stab-in-the-dark procedures. I had no idea what I was doing, so I turned off the computer and restarted it, hoping things would be back to normal when rebooted. No! Oh, No, no, no! I often wish that one could turn off life and reboot it to see if the body and mind might have reset themselves to default mode! Hehehe!
The flaming picture window opened in full mode again. Then, I realised that it was not in full mode before because, this time, it filled the screen entirely, thus revealing the bottom left option of closing the ‘Hide Folders’ button. I pressed it, and the screen became a smidgen smaller, allowing the bottom right seize arrow to be accessed—WUNDERBAR! I spent the rest of the day a bag of nerves in case I repeated the wrong key combination and did it again. The ticking eye and twitching of the lower lip started! I was a bag of nerves!
So, another two hours plus was lost!
I went to make a brew of Glengettie, and the colouration of the lunchtime view was terrific. Straight ahead. Then, I took a shot of the Cannabis-Growers road.
As I returned to make the brew. And the state of the kitchen floor brought forth shame and guilt! Flash Speed Mop utilised. They are crap! Mind you, they did pick up some of the dirt. Hahaha!
Gorgeous afternoon clouds
Found this attached to an email.
What is it, please?
As it got a little later, I just couldn’t resist taking more snaps of the clouds.
I made a nosh, took a photo of it, got settled, and ate it. What happened to the photo that was not on the SD card is a mystery. Nothing new there!
I was well into the land of nod and without any of the awakenings, being kind to me! And left me alone, too. But the Carer came in to wake me instead. Hahaha! I was not compos-mentis and forgot to ask him to remove the socks and attach the nocturnal catheter pouch. I found out in the morning that I had very dark urine and an overflowing bag, and with the socks on, the shocks from both ankles kept waking me up. Humph!
The sky looked like it had been painted. Bootiful! .
The mudslide at the end of the car park.
Even I got this one. Haha!
What a magnificent view!
The came, and I got up and had a walk about; they lessen when so this.
Three last shots as the sunset fell. Farewell!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Have a grand Day!
All-over-the-placidness, lack of concentration, and mind wandering off more than staying with me were similar to yesterday. Rampant! I have lost the notepad with the reminders of the day’s events. There is much the sameness, I suppose. Thank heavens I got the above selection sorted early because I could not have done it in the state I was in later on. Things may or may not improve mentally or physically, but ‘It ain’t necessarily so!’ So, this will be short on detailed info, as the seizures and mind-blanks started later on. Sorry. – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – 04:00hrs: The brain stuttered awake… well, mostly. How I got the glow onto this snap, I don’t know!
Veering towards the Trotsky Terence level. The feet & tootsies looked better. The medicationalisationings followed. The shaving went well; there were only a few minor nicks. No bother.
Got in a tangle with the .
I went to the kitchen and enjoyed taking these snaps of these morning views. The last one turned involuntarily into a work of art, or I was interfered with . Hehe! Does it look like a radar photo of an airport and city?
I got the computer on and started updating and getting photos onto CorelDraw and WordPress.
Another oddly-hued photo?
Contrails in the beautiful sky.
Taking an automated wee-wee. Hahaha!
Clouds to the left. Clouds to the right (Of the kitchen window)
I got further muddled and had to make many amendments and corrections. Then, as if by magic, I found myself in the spare room, apparently searching for something. I didn’t find out what I was looking for, but I had a scout around in case I saw whatever it was, and it triggered the brain into action. It didn’t.
Later, when I went to investigate what to have for the daily meal, I had this wonderful view to photograph. This one is rather special. Gorgeous!
It could be Putin in heaven, I thought. But plenty of others to pick from. Hehe!
A lot of blanks today.
But I did get the nosh pepped, cooked & photographed.
05:40hrs: I rose in a cheery, gay, happy mood. Possibly a Ahem! I could hardly believe the dark colour of the Catheter night pouch contents—I was in shock, really. I took another shot of it when emptying the night bag. Of course, at the time, I didn’t realise that much bigger shocks were awaiting me later on, today! Yes.
I took this picture of the early morning view from the kitchenette window.
At least it wasn’t foggy… yet! Only my brain was foggy. I was off to the wet room for a wash and visit to the. There was another change in styles: from two days of being in control, now was ruling things. Mega-smelly, almost watery, it squirted out more than flowed! It took me ages to get the place, and my body cleaned up! Tsk.
Since arriving in the wet room, I’d had three or four of the .
Seeing the state of the ankles, was no surprise. may need putting back on again, if things get any worse and the lesions burst open. Won’t please the Carers.
The Asda driver rang me on the mobile phone with a connection as normal, but it was so bad that he might as well have been talking to me in Outer Mongolian, for all I understood. I assumed he could not gain access and told him I’d come down to him straight away. Big Mistake!
I got and left the flat to find that both of the lifts were out-of-action! .
I looked down between the fire escape stairs… It looked and was daunting. 24 flights of stairs to get down. I automatically set off, with great difficulty and pains from , and . I really must have been mad, to think I could get down all that way and then back up again. However, thought I could. I couldn’t, of course. I managed to get down to the sixth floor and started going back up again. This was when I heard the noises below me. The heroic, saving-the-day driver was on his way up; I could hear him going up a flight of stairs with two of the three boxes, back down and getting the third, then repeating the exercise for each of the 24 flights of stairs. I continued climbing back up, and the driver caught me up; I was struggling so much to get back to my floor. The ankles had swollen and also was bleeding. The driver was pouring sweat, but he stayed calm and patient with me. As we got to the flat, arrived. Between them they got the food into bags and took them into the kitchen for me. It was a big order as well. I sent a thank-you note to Asda later in the day for the driver’s kind, beyond-the-call-of-duty actions. He deserves recognition. Did the medicationalisationings. I took this shot of the well-tired Asda driver leaving.
Then, an Iceland order arrived! Which I was certain I’d ordered for next Tuesday? I may need more help here! kindly put the bags in the hallway for me, ready for me to tackle later. Thanks, Shaquille!
Then, I set about sorting out the Asda Delivery. This is going to be a long job. There is much stuff to sort out and store away. I made a start…
The spring waters and cordials were put on the floor next to the Water Alarm Sounder thingamabob on the floor. Something else to trip over.
Shloer drinkies for treats and thankyous for the Caregivers and nurses who tend to me. Soda water and spring water for the daily Catheter filling routines. A bottle of Mushroom sauce and Tomato Ketchup with pickle. Lastly, sterilised milk.
Some reet-treats for myself in this photographicalisation on the left. Vici Surimi sticks Sweet & delicate). Jamaican Lamb patties. (Tasty!) Asda Crisp & Golden Potato Rostis (Not bad at all when done until burnt a bit). But nice!
Some favourites in this one! Brown sliced baguettes! Ready meals, Cumberland Pie, Minced beef hotpot. Texas beef chunks, an all-day breakfast, and a newly discovered gem. mini caramelised sausages!
Then I moved on to the Iceland delivery storage. Far less to work with. Curry & Barbeque baked beans, mushrooms, sugarless biscuits, batteries AA & AAA. Treats drinkie, and some ready-made coffees for the Carers who like them.
Made up and took the waste bags to the rubbish shoot in the 12th-floor main lobby. Noticing the lifts had been repaired as I passed by them en route. I managed to trap my hand, well finger, in the cast iron closure drawer without any effort or input. No cursing, swearing, or spitting, just an Argh!
Back in the detention cell. I mean the apartment, I avoided a calamity and with seconds to spare, got it emptied just in time! The colour was a lot healthier looking now than first thing. I got on with the blog finalisationings at long last. Worra, day! It’s well into PM now!
The mist had been around all day once it had fallen. Too busy to notice what time it fell. More like November weather, really.
Slurp, gobble!
Took ages to force out this time. Spent some time on the crossword puzzle.
Overnight, despite the horrendous day I’d had, left me alone. But… the woke me up each time when it struck. Higher up on the leg now. Wakes you up with a jerk, I can tell yers. I feel a little pain each time, but it soon eases off, within seconds. By then, they had done their job, mission, aim… to stop me sleeping! Either because of the mysteries of Woodthorpe Court, with the hobgoblins, spectres, gnomai, phantasms, ghosts, the grotesque succubae, extraterrestrials, ectoplasms, spirits, or the Fata Morganas, that have been sent to taunt, irritate and terminate my already limited saneness of mind. Or, my brain that is not communicating with that is dying off, or maybe it’s the cunning ? I’ve always had a sort of affinity with him, you know. I don’t think he likes not being liked by the souls he collects? It could be part of his plan to make living (for me) hell, then when he comes, I’ll welcome him. Just a thought. I’ve no quarrel with him at all. It’s smarty-pants Saint Peter I’d like a word with.
Let’s give Labour a chance to cock it up, first… – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – At least it was different this morning. Well, it wasn’t, but it would have been nice if it had been. Confusion Conrad Reigned supreme! I took several photos. I lost or misplaced them, they escaped into the ether, or I forgot to insert the SD card. I think I merrily took shots of the catheter bag, a scene shot or two, and the bruise coming up where I trapped my fingernail in the kitchen drawer, expecting to retrieve them later for the blog.
My body and brain march onwards towards the obliviousness of total incapability and insanity. (I’m in no rush, mind!).
The pouch urine was far too red for comfort again. I sorted the waste bags (the photos self-destructed).
Got the computer onNow this shot one was not on the AWOL list.
A shot to the right from the kitchen. A shot to the right from the kitchen.
I may have got these in the wrong order?
The wee-wee kept changing colour, and the pouch suddenly filled up a few times.
As best I recall, Carer Maryham, poorly, bless her. Carer Chris made the second call, Carer Joanne the second, and Carer Victor, the third and fourth visit. Not exactly any seizures today, but the straightforward mind-blanks paid me too many visits. After each one, I struggled to regain what I was doing before; and ended up starting two or three, often more, different things and none getting finished. But, as Tom Jones sang, “It’s Not Unusual”. Was it him or Englebert?
Carers Health Checks of late, returns A fit lot of folks!
A blue shade sky tonight.
Got the meal prepped, cooked, and served. I kept to the diet and didn’t have any bread as I’d been instructed. I had a brown baguette instead. Ahem! By gum, it was a good un! Gobble, slurp… gone! Hehe!
Took this view as I washed the pots.
I went back to watch some TV, fell asleep, and Carer Vic arrived. He medicated me and took my socks off for the night. Oh, dearie me… He put some cream on once again, coming up with ankle lesions on both ankles/legs. Not good, this, at all!
I did find them, but it took me a lot longer than 11 seconds… nearer 11 minutes. Haha!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Yet another sad day, concentration-wise. I swear I was more out of it than with it for the majority of the day. Doing the blogging, or trying to, I’d wander off to the Porcelain Throne; on the way back, I’d see some bits on the hallway floor and get the hoover out. A Carer calls, and my attention varies. The ten-minute Carer’s call was over, and I’d forgotten about finishing the hoovering and moved on to check what was in the fridge to cook for my meal for tonight. I returned to the computer and was amazed that so little was done on it. Searching for a Local News Snippet on the Your Area News site, something reminded me of my youth. I spent ages casting back my mind to my horrendous school days, musing at my bad choices, the bullies, the neighbours, etc. I went to make a brew of Glengettie and found that the hot water tap had been left on and had run cold. Stubbing my toe en route back to the computer, I could not find my notepad with the scribbled reminders to use. A seizure or mind-blank took over, and suddenly, the pain from a PN electric shock in the leg (it’s moved up from the ankle now) brought me back from wherever I was, and it dawned that I’d been AWOL for two hours or so. As I stood up, the pain from the Catheter tube pulling on Little Inchie was excruciating. I felt the warm wetness as the blood flowed down from the PPs onto my leg and off to the wet room for cleaning and medicationalisationing. When I came out, I set about setting up the template for the blog, not realising that I’d already done that and had some work to do. More time lost. No doubt I did many other things; the proof was in the few photographs I found on Kodak Tim’s SD card. These also prompted some remembrances. But what I did most of the day was a part of the mystery. I reclaimed a degree of awareness of things, but not until the evening Carer called. I think Carer Sam came and put some prescriptions in the medical drawer. Vagueness is the word to describe today, I guess. Belatedly doing, the nurse’s ode flowed easily. And although, as per usual, I was getting so tired and weary, which in itself was another mystery cause I’d done bugger all today. I didn’t even get back to this blog until late Saturday morning! I think I’ll add Confusion to Vagueness. Ah, yes, Carer Maryham did the first call. (I think) She was not very well; I think she had caught the ‘Bug’, bless her. I seem to recall worrying about her. Only a few photos to go on, with the odd prompted memory added where I had one… Thank heavens, I at least got the top graphics done early. I’m waffling well, ain’t I?
Front car park, from the kitchen window.
Misty morning.
Late morning, I think.
The new bed, with the fall-out bar and a slide-under-table. It’s comfy enough for me!
It looked like the road resurfacing was all done.
Afternoon or teatime sky.
I missed the sunset due to a mind-blank. But took this as I went to make a meal.
See the difference twixt reality (above), and how it looked on the box? Most disappointing taste, too!
Good Morning! Photo kindly taken by Carer Maryham after she helped me wash & shave and get dressed. ♥
Dark wee-wee, bloodied pee!
A red-hued morning view. Tsk!
Computer on, and reduced some things on the order for the week after next from J. Sainsbury.
Made up the bed. Well, flung a quilt over it.
Today’s fodder order arrived.
Not a lot this time.
Took these shots. .
These came out okay.
Computed for a couple of hours. Then, I made a brew to dunk some of my sugarless biscuits. .
Taste Rating: 3/10.
Took two shots of the kitchen window view.
Then arrived. At this stage, I was doing well mentally… no, that’s a fib! I was not doing too badly in the concentration stakes. We had a little natter after she’d medicated me and checked the taps and cooker.
After departed, things took a long lasting turn for the worse. The started. I was using the small blue plastic
picker-upperer, and as I leant down to retrieve the dropped hearing aid, I injured the picker-upperer. Bent it rather acutely… it’s not working. Now… I may have said an assortment of naughty words. So, I was frustrated and self-critical as the landline burst to life. The Physiotherapist made sure I was aware of his arrival. Haha!
The gentleman arrived minutes later. But with my having just broken the picker-upperer, my mind was all over the place. What I can recall, is he tested both & s abilities, by my lifting the legs as far as I could without too much pain. Won that competition easily. He asked if the walker was better now that he’d mended the ‘wiggle’ on the right handlebar, and I thanked him, as it was a lot easier to use now. Many questions were answered, hopefully correctly, by me. But details of them have now gone into the ether. I recall losing what I spoke of a few times and feeling foolish. The man was understanding about this. I think my using the bed was referred to. He said he’s had a word with my doctor about the cartilage. Maybe it’s more pain relief. Almost sure. Ah, I did tell him of getting more frequent now I’m using the bed. But I sense that an awful lot more was discussed.
Variety is the spice of life. Hahaha!
I found on the reminder notepad that I’d scribbled what I thought was Rachael. No idea why?
Eventually, at long last, I started updating Sunday’s blog and got it posted very late in the day. I was now getting exhausted & weary. And just had to give up the blog working. I may get up early in the morning and try to start early on it… or not.
I got the stew and potatoes cooking and put the TV on… Oh dearie! I was baffled by this message that came up!
The remote control, was not affecting anything I tried to get to the later button to click on it. Then I dug out the Bush TV remote, which the engineer who fitted it up told me I would not use, and he said to throw it away; it was not needed. I tried to see if that would work to get to the set-up button, but that wasn’t doing anything either. So now, paying three times as much as before for the TV & phone service, which I didn’t want anyway but got conned into taking, and having to buy a Smart TV to use the service… I’m left without any TV at all! I don’t know if the message was from or the Bush television people? I need help here; if anyone can and knows what I can do, please chip in. I’ll ask a Carer if they can phone for me. It said a reset will be needed, that scares me; I could lose my internet service? Depressed again now!
Got the fodder served up, but I was not in a good mood to enjoy it. But still ate it ravenously. .
Took two-night shots from the kitchen window. Well, I’d not TV to watch. I spent £400, and £88 a month, and may end up with no landline, or computer supply… I’ve virtually lost the TV anyway. Grrr! The first artistic one. Haha! The second one.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
I’m fuming, frustrated, frumpy, fed-up, frightened, frazzled, and flagitated. Fighting a ferocious fiend, fragmenting my brain & body, without any help, physiatrics or therapy! Did I write that?
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – I lived this Saturday in Nadaville. With an aura of clueless-incomprehension, bafflement, with so many mental-seizures, I occasionally went into an almost hypnotic state. Yet when free of them, things seemed to be going so much better. The worst hassle, was getting so easily distracted from the task in hand. I was at sixes and sevens, discomfited. Getting back online mentally was not easy. Plus, having to correct things I’d got or done wrong during the last ‘semi-clear period’ caused more problems. The times I changed things to ‘correct’ the errors, then found I’d got it wrong, seemed endless.
Just thought I’d mention it.
I’m doing this blog so late on Saturday, and so many memories have faded. I’ve no idea why, but I did not use the notepad as reminder much at all, yesterday?
Well, the time I got up at 04:35hrs, some scribble I diagnosed as my moaning about the frequency of the nocturnal , ever waking me up. That’s why I gave up and got up. The giant-sized concrete evacuation was written clearly. Something about CorelDraw problems and the camera?
Very few photos were taken. Hope they remind me as I put them in of events. Worra Day!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Terrible photo.
Another terrible photo. Horrible photo.
Pouch nearly bursting.
I can recall taking these cloud shots.
I see a one-eyed monster in the top one. Hehehe! Gorgeous!
Flowing well.
Gave up with the blogging, meal in oven and put the TV on. At least I found the remote control tonight.
Sorry, there are so many errors in my grammar and typography. I’m so far behind again. The concentration is bad enough; but I’ve started wandering off and doing other things before the original job was done, repeatedly so. FND and Cognitive Impairment Iris, Who do I blame? Here we go, with the many items and incidents missed, forgotten or I gave up on.
Far too dark again! I’ll try to remember tp mention it to the social lady on Monday when she comes of telephones me. Or is that on Tuesday?
Gloomy morning view… and sky.
Hours trying to get the blog started. But Iris sent me off on so many other things to do. Carer Chris called, and I have no idea what took place.
Boy, the skies had changed.
I rang Sister Jane. Getting ready to go to the football match at the City Ground.
Ginormous! I’m glad that’s over!
Carer Joanne came. Poor gal has lost her hair. And her catheter is giving her grief too! Not feeling up to much, bless her. But we still managed a laugh or two. I hope she’s going to be alright. ♥
My concentration and confusion was so bad, I decided to make a brew and watch the TV for a while to try yo unwind… Then… I made the mug of tea, but could I find the TV remote? No, I couldn’t! You can see why I’ve got nothing done today, can’t you? I spent over half an hour trying to find it, without any luck. I’d search every room, pocket and drawer. Baffled! I returned to put the computer back on and thought I’d have a last look for the remote I emptied out everything off of the c1966, £300 Oxfam charity shop bought, second-hand, wincingly grotty, beige coloured, crumb-covered from my nocturnal nibblings, itch-making, uncomfortable, positively unhealthy & dangerous, no longer operational, virus-breeding, easy-to-fall-out-of, Catheter-tube-trapping, recliner, but didn’t find it. I thought the only place it could be, was underneath the £300 second-hand shop purchased, c1966, welt-causing, uncomfortable, not-working, itch-inspirational, crumb-containing recliner. So, despite the orders not to bend or do any heavy lifting, I struggled… painfully to edge the recliner away from its usual position a little at a time. Each move was almost crippling my back and knees, but I was determined to find out if it was hidden under the chair. I could only do one chair move at a time. had to rest a minute or two between each one. Also, the rubbish I found each move had to be cleaned up. Another hour or so later, I remembered I’d not collected the brew of tea yet. I was leaning on the arm of the recliner to lift myself up, and got a double-attack at just the wrong time. !, gave way, and the at the same time! I crumpled, banging down in the aged, grotty-looking c1966 made, charity-shop-bought, horribly beige-coloured, £300, Harold’s Haemorrhoid-testing, non-operational, acne-giving, virus-breeding, rickety, easy-to-fall-out-of recliner. Bursting open poor when I landed! The agony only lasted for five minutes or so. Then I gingerly rose, grabbed a hold of precious , to the wet room to medicate my rear end, and Phorpain gelled . I was feeling a smidge sorry for myself and agree at me at the same time. The day was getting dark, and the blog had still not been started properly yet. Standing still or sitting down hurt after that, let alone trying to hobble around. Carer Chris arrived to break my concentration further on what needed doing. When I told him of my farcical Accifauxpas, he found them amusing. Haha!
I still had to get the £300, second-hand, musty, Haemorrhoid Harold Testing, cringingly beige, not-working, rickety recliner back to its original position. The thought of having to contact the oligarchical about getting a replacement TV remote, I found daunting. Then I went to get the chair repositioned, and guess what I found, when I moved it? Yep! The remote Control!
I can’t see things improving much.
It was well dark now, sod all done.
Went to try making another brew, and noticed the kitchen window view. Bootiful, too!
Back on the computer, forgot all about making a mug of tea again. For a few minutes, things were going reasonably well… Carer Chris arrived. Full of the joys of spring, that cheered me up a bit.
Took two shots before the sun sank.
Gave up on the blog. no concentration left.painfully. The ribs I hit going down on the recliner. And then, the cartilage & ribs were aching away. Then, a flipping and dusted my spectacle and dressing gown with dried flaked-off skin! I got a letter telling me the rent was going up, along with the communal electricity, caretaking costs, and CCTV charges.
And I still had to make a meal yet. The moment I got up, more pain from the back I twisted and ribs. But these things didn’t depress me, not at all. I was already depressed anyway!
At least the skies were changing and nice.
Early hours of the morning, I made a bowl of vegetable chilli. Grand!
I found this photo on Friday that I’d missed earlier.
He looked poorly. No, cheering him up at all was successful. He must be going through hell with the diabetes symptoms. Poor lad.
Got on with the blogging catch-up. (Of course, I never caught up; I just got further behind as the day crawled, mistake-ridden on!). I thought yesterday was the worst day in months for typing and memory loss, which was annoying, but today was worse!
The intercom rang out. It was the Parsley Box delivery that Kara had arranged for me. The access button was pressed, and I realised the catheter pouch had to be emptied and hastened to do so. During this, I heard a loud thud. I thought it was the chap in the flat above; he has been getting noisier daily this week. I’m not complaining. I believe he also has to walk with a stick, so I know how he is, like me dropping stuff all the time, hence making noise for the poor tenant below me. I got to the door and found what the earlier thud must have been. The DHL driver had dropped the box of ready meals on the floor outside the door. This was poor; the box split and tore… will I use them anymore? I spent a long time using to take photos of each meal I’d bought. Collectively. Mushroom Risotto Vegetable & Lentil Hotpot Three bean Chilli Vegetarian Cottage Pie. Meat Free Chilli. Cumberland Pie. I read each meal to find the cooking time it needed. Each one varied a little, but the timing and the sell-by dates were written large enough for me to read easily. The shortest sell-by date was Nov 24. Some had Jan 25 dates. They can be stored without a fridge or freezer. I’ll try a Cumberland Pie tonight and add some canned garden peas.
Finally, I finished the blog. As arrived. She rang the Community Nurse’s place and told them about the new Catheter pouch being too long and the tube too thick. They said they would replace them with men’s day bags ASAP. Thanks, Kara! ♥.
I realised when I got back on the computer that I was out of templates for the blog. So, foolishly, thought I’d do a month’s worth in advance. This time, determined not to make a right hash of it and get things wrong, like dates and days for each one, and have to re-sort them like last time. I went into concentration mode and proceeded to make up the templates. After three hours, the next Carer arrived. It was . We had a natter after she’d sorted the medications, and she had to rush off, busy, busy, busy; bless her, leaving with a smiling face. When I got back to the template making. I was like another different creature. Confidence was all gone, and I got myself lost for a while, trying to find where I was up to with the task. Another hour later, I felt delighted and thought I’d done an excellent job this time. I almost went into an undeserved . This belief later turned out to be fallacious! Humph!”.
I smugly turned off the computer; I’d tired myself out with the concentrating, I think. Mind you, I’m not getting much sleep due to my fixation with doing this blog… for far too many hours each day. But I love it when I can raise a smile or two with the truth.
Arrived to carry out the late call. I showed off to him and looked at the list of templates I’d done. Dagnabbit, and balderdashski! I’d missed two days off and doubled up on another. And now they are all out of order and sync. Crying was an option, as was cursing and self-recrimination… not as far as suicide, though! Chris thought it was funny. Huh! Boy, was I irked at my own stupidity! No meal or TV watching tonight; I had to correct the errors and spent an aeon getting them sort of nearly, well, something like an imitation of a workable order. A really mixed-up mess to tackle every day of the month now. I fear dates, days, etc., may get flummoxed!
Not a good shot, Tsk! A smidge betterer?
A commonplace late-night event here. I wanted to stay awake to watch the film The Rock. Every single time the adverts came on, I drifted off into slumber. But not for long. Because I kept getting woken up with . I gave up and turned off the TV, but the mini-shocks kept coming regularly. Thankfully, took the night off, and it didn’t bother me. Then again, with the ankle shocks, he wasn’t needed to ensure I gave up not only on watching the box but also trying to sleep. I got up at 03:15hrs and rose up like a behemoth… is that the right word? Pondered on what day it was and got my feet down on the floor again as I climbed out of the itch-creating, bruise-giving, catheter-tube-tugging, crumb-decorated from my nocturnal nibblings, God-awfully uncomfortable, cringingly-grotty, no longer working, dirty beige, anti-sleep designed, c1966, second-hand bought for £300, ten-years ago from the Scope charity shop in Sherwood, recliner.
.
Fare Thee All Well… Luck’s coming your way, Yes, I can tell… If not, have a day that’s swell!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Terribly up-and-down day today. Alternating seemingly every five-minutes to me, looking back.
But, so busy. Carer Kara helped me sort out the meal ordering. As well as the diabetic course booking.
This period was the most up one of the day.
Electric-like shocks from the ankles came on so often, far more than any other day since they started.
The new day [ouch on the catheter is leaving scars much worse than the old type were. Bleeding f from the fungal lesion is far worse. Plus, Reflux Roger with his blasts of wind coming up, making three carers, Shaquille, Maryham and Kara, all laugh.
Trouble with the Liberty-Global TV.
Watched the Forest vs Man Utd match. It’s a shame they lost; they deserved a draw, at least; the refereeing seemed biased to me… again, against Forest.
The mind blanks/seizures and Electric-like ankle shocks were both persistent today. When asleep, a rarity that… the ankle shocks often wake me up, but when awake and out-of-it, wither they do not strike or wake me up? Conrad’s Confusion reigns.
The Catheter Katie night pouch did not have much in it, and it was far too dark. Removed it from the day bag. This new style, which I believe is a woman’s version, has a really thick, long tubing. The release valve at the bottom is touching my slippers; it’s that long! When it fills, the weight drops it down even further, making reaching it to release the valve to be emptied, is difficult and painful.
Morning view ahead. The misty sky.
called on the first call of his day shift.
The lad looked in top form. He gave me some tips on cooking pasta, after sorting the medications out.
A few minutes later, arrived. On a financial help call. Sorted the letters that had arrived. Then handled ordering the Parsley Box order for me.
She checked the bother with the new-type catheter. I’d hoped she call the District Nurses to see if they could be swapped, but don’t know if I asked her not now.
I’m lost when Kara does not call.
Maryham, Marie, Christopher and Shaquille have all helped me this week. Much appreciated, too. But it is only Kara that the bank will talk to on my behalf. She also helped me through the options for the Diabetes Course. Manuel is phoning or calling on Monday; I’ll mention the painful catheter to him.
A nearly full front car park this afternoon.
Sometimes, I miss having a car or motorbike to use. But it was sensible to voluntarily hand in my driving licence when I started getting the seizures. I don’t regret doing this usually, in fact, I’m kind of proud of myself for doing it. The thought that I could kill an innocent person should I drop off while driving was the reason I surrendered the licence. I was thinking of this and had a look at the mobility scooters available.
called. She had a giggle at my revelations and jokes. Did me a lot of good that did! Kimberly found my jokes funny! Grrreat!.
Diabetic socks were put on, and medications were issued. Safety checks were done.
After an hour or two constantly sat down at the computer, the bag was filling again. I painfully bent down to get to the release valve, which with the weight of urine, was now on the floor! And noticed afterwards the state of the top of the leg, where the extra-thick (No, I’m not talking about me, Hehe!) and long tube had worn a shape into the leg. I wiped off the trickles of blood and took this picture of it. I’m hoping Kara can call the District Nurses, or wherever she calls it, to ask them if there is any chance they can swap back to the old shorter ones.
Easy-peasy one today… even I spotted the mistake. Albeit, it took me longer than the 4 seconds.
