Today, I received two letters. Neither of which exactly perked me up, cheered me up or made me sing or yodel with pure joy. But first, I’m afraid this is another rushed blog. Due to the hours spent sorting out the mail in hate form of four A4 pages of the very small print of details required by the hospital for the upcoming operation on the Prostate that needed to be filled in. But, I made a right mess of it. THe Carer who came pointed out that I could do it on the Internet. So, I did, and that took me over an hour and a half to get right! Had to ring Sister Jane to confirm her address and telephone number. But got it done and tried to send it, but it wouldn’t have it. So I double-checked that I’d filled everything in properly. Which, of course, I hadn’t! There was a disclaimer box that had to be clicked on. So, I clicked on it. Another messy day! – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
I got out of the recliner, caught my balance, and went off to the porcelain Throne. Messy! Very Messy! Checked the batteries and made sure the Fuji was working.
Took a snap from the window.
Stripped t get ready to go to get the ablutions done. The toes had lost their brown colouring but were more twisted and swollen.
07:40hrs: I started the Ablutionings. My teeth were cleaned, my nose cleared, and I shaved while I was standing in a bowl of soapy water and Dettol. Eye drops in, medicated certain delicate areas. I actually felt worn out; the whole session took ages. I took a photo of the wrist alert bands
Right wrist... Left wrist… Which meant after looking at the clock, that I’d spent erm… 08:55 now, started at 07:40hrs – that was good for me! Smug-Mode Engaged!
The two errant toes were stinging a bit.
Blimey sunshine out!
Carer Adele arrived a little late, not that it mattered in the slightest to me. She’s collected the two letters from the door box on coming in. One was a bill from Easy-Link.
The other (above). was the dreaded questionnaire from the Woodthorpe Hospital. I have to fill it in and register before they can see me. It cost me over four hours to get it all done!
Carers came and went, but I worked like a good un trying to get this blog done… I had to keep stopping for the carers visits, phone calls, answer emails that came in, emptying the daub pouch of the catheter, and forever adjusting the tubing that was giving me some right bother; the bleeding had not stopped since the first accidental pull on the tube. Not bleeding badly, more like a little leak. But it keeps drying, and when I move, the dried blood cracks and starts flowing again; Humph!
Nothing to eat yet. Not that I want anything. I did nibble and dunk a few biscuits each time I made a brew… although five of the mugs of tea went cold cause I was concentrating on doing the graphics.
Tea time, and I went to make another brew, intent on making sure I drank this one. I didn’t. Cause I espied a slimmer of light on the horison – Aha… Sunset was coming, methinks!.
I took a closer shot.
Over the next half-hour, I took several photos of the wonderful sky until the short sunsetting had gone.
Finally…. Ta-Ta Sunshine!
Get something to eat now… I hope!
A much-doctored bowl of veg soup. I was halfway through it when the new Carer Zika arrived. He was late arriving, and muggings here forgot he’d not been. I am a plonker! He’s a nice lad. With chatting with him as he got the medications sorted, I also forgot all about the night pouch that needed fitting to the on the .
He took the waste bags and checked the taps for me as he departed.
Then I got the dish, and cutlery washed and settled down in the second-hand, £300, charity shop bought, crumb-retaining, microorganism-microbe producing, gungy, moth-eaten, beige-coloured, non-working, bacillus encouraging, incommodious, Haemorrhoid Harold testing, c1968 recliner.
Another much-interrupted sleep. For I had to keep checking and emptying the smaller day bag, if needed, overnight. Lost count of the times I had to get up and free the urine into the bucket. Tsk! I think seeing a new face and nattering a little helped me forget about the night pouch.
I also got a visit from Dizzy Dennis every time I bent down to undo the release valve. A little disconcerting they were.
04:20hrs: Trouble ‘t Mill again, straight away. was bleeding during the night. The inserted tube pulls whenever I move, stretch or bend, I imagine. The new ailments just keep coming! Didn’t bother me, of course.
Off to empty the catheter bag. The last day of the week is today for to call. He took the night bag off and routed the wee-wee to the day bag for me when he came. The man’s been a comfort, laugh and God-Send during the recent medical problems. When he arrived, Richard soon got the bags swapped and adjusted the strapping. We had a natter and laugh after he gave me the medications and pulled my leg a bit. Not literally, Hehe!
I got a phone call from the Nottingham City Hospital Urology Department. By good fortune, the lady spoke slowly after I said I was hard of hearing, and I just asked her to repeat the time and date of the appointment they’d made for me.
It’s for Friday, 6th January 2023. At 11:20hrs, and was very patient while I checked the calendar to check what time my Doctors appointment on the same day was. It was okay; the doctor was at 08:30hrs. Thanked her doer being patient with me. Of course, I went into panic-mode-Grade-three. Now I have to try to sort a lift out for both appointments… not too bad a situation with the timing, mind you. If I can get and lift, I can get the Doctor and book a pickup for an hour later, I don’t mind waiting if I get seen too early… Hahaha! the things I come out with!
Then go straight to the hospital; in time. I hope!
Then the trying to book with Easy-Link problems came to the fore.
Over the next three hours, I tried to get through to Meridian six times and Easy-Link five times. No luck!
Blogging
Arrived. Another Saviour! ♥
Emptying the Day Catheter bag. Getting through to and booking lifts not only for the 6th January, doctor’s and but the 9th February at the .
Checking & emptying the day bag. During which, if had not been there, I’d have taken a tumble backward onto the deck! She caught me in time. Thank You, Lisa!
Just spotted these two evening shots from yesterday’s evening view.
After 5 days of going Porcelain Throne usage-free – things started moving. Not-half!
❶ 13:50hrs: First visit. Messy, but not a lot of it.
❷ 16:00hrs: Gooey, sticky, light khaki. Stinking more.
❸ 17:05hrs: Four dollops of giant meatball shaped evacuated. Darker khaki.
❹ 1840hrs: A large selection of dark brown giant worms. ❺ 20:44hrs: Sloppy mess, very light-coloured, little smell, though.
Well, a right mixture there. I’m hoping that when the late call comes and the night catheter is fitted, I don’t get any more summoning to the .
Arrived. Got the medicines sorted. Little chin-wag shared.
At long last, a good stand-up wash and shave with my feet soaking in the bowl with Dettol.
Three cuts shaving, dropped razors, shaving cream, flannel, toothbrush, carbolic soap, nailbrush… and possibly a few other things. Knocked stuff off of the floor cabinet – twice! Nearly took a tumble again. And gave the wet room door a shoulder charge on leaving.
Found this morning’s car park photo; making a mess chronologically, aren’t I?
Arrived and made me a mug of tea; bless her ♥. Gave me the Peptac and washed the plastic pot for me. And she saved me from another tumble: I think I mentioned that earlier.
Got on with blogging. Then answered some WordPress comments.
Got a meal cooking, Cottage Pie and seasoned sliced mushroom.
Took this photo as I put the food into the oven.
Making a bas job timewise.
More photographs from this mid-morning.
Must go now and get the nosh served up.
Back in a bit.
I hope this is going to be fun...
Walking stick, evening wee-p[ouch to carry, a meal to make…
And then getting it back into the front room to eat…
Wish me luck.
I’m not too confident about this, not being an Accifauxpa-free exercise.
I imagine that the Famously Murderous Parole Board will be releasing both of these criminals… well, animals, at the earliest opportunity to kill again?

03:30hrs: I stirred, with a degree of hesitation, a definite desire not to get up and face the world. A reluctance like never before. Indeed, I tried to get back to sleep – but the inevitable need for a wee-wee, followed by the almost thrice-hemerine Porcelain Throne visit, forced the removal of my elephantine body from the grasp of the second-hand, £300, charity shop-bought, crumb-retaining, microorganism-microbe producing, gungy, moth-eaten, beige-coloured, non-working, bacillus encouraging, incommodious, Haemorrhoid Harold testing, c1968 recliner. And off to the wet room.
The evacuation started as usual of its own accord. But it stopped part the way through the process.
So I got the crossword book out. I’ve lost the one I was using but found this one when I was sorting a drawer out. Much more my cup of tea this one. It was published in 1969, and is great; Cause the questions about sport and actors and like, I can remember from so long ago, and I got a few answered. . In fact, I got into it and forgot I waiting for the evacuations to restart. Hehehe! Had a quick wash and clean up.
Put the olive oil in the ear holes, and I sprayed some of the eye drops around the chin, moustache and mouth… I doubt if any actually made it into the eye and used up the last it. Two more need to be ordered. But what are the odds of me remembering? Not too good, methinks. I got the spy-glass to check on the urine colour. Not too good today, rated as a six on the NHS chart.
Which reminded me to get the Health Checks done. But not before I made a brew of Glengettie to stir my mind and body. (Well, it sounded good?) Haha! I put a potato in the crock pot as I was mashing the tea.
Added some liquid smoke, sea salt and vinegar to the water.
Made the tea and got the computer on the go.
I received a long email from Lis-Petal, and replied to it, trying to cover everything she mentioned. She really is such a caring Angel ♥.
Minutes after getting this done declared the arrival of my mate and . I turned to welcome him with a handshake. Before, I stood a very-poorly, shouldn’t be at work, lad! Well, man! His voice was croaky and weak; he was red-faced, coughing, and looked so weak. His actions and reactions were slower than usual, too.
Poor Richard, he just gets his Diabetes level down, and this, whatever it is, hits him. Much as I’ll miss him if he does go sick, I hope he’ll be alright and recovers soon. But he didn’t look good at all. He’ll struggle to get back t work, I think.
So unfair to him. A man who had helped me more than anyone goes sick. This is worrying for me. I walked to the door with him, tried to look and sound unworried for him, but don’t think I managed it.
Got a text from Asda. According to this, there are no changes or substitutions on today’s order? Never been known before – surely I misread it?
Got on with updating the Monday blog and posted it off. Took me a lot longer than it should have, and I made more mistakes to correct than ever before. And I’m sure many errors got through despite my hours spent adjusting things.
I need to get the Ablutions done, but there isn’t time now, as the delivery could arrive soon.
arrived. Gave me the Peptac. I checked the list of Christmas pressies given, but Sam was not on it. She is now.
HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY so far. The Asda order arrived. It was a big one, and the deliveryman saw how I was struggling and took the food through to the kitchen for me in his baskets, cramming the food where he could find room to.
Nice gesture; he was off in no time. Getting the stuff put away took me two hours – Honestly! The Christmas treat bottles for the Carers arrived, and I’d just given the last of the others to Sam. Got them in the cupboard under the computer, so the others can take a pick their choice. The Microwave had almost been covered with food. Hehe!
Glad to say the Marmite Cashew nuts have arrived, and the personal treats for Christmas for myself, the tasty but naughty Lotus-Biscoff Biscuits, all come as well. The only room on the sink side was used up as well.
BBQ beans. The 7-Vegetable roasted Mediterranean sauce. Passata with basil. Soft drinks for the Carers thank you’s. More BBQ sauce, Korean this time; I hope it’s not too hot? And from the one box, BBQ sauce, more veg sauce, orange cordial, and the BBQ Beans Micro Grain that I enjoyed so much last week. The Winiary Przyprawa seasoning that I’m trying for the first time. I couldn’t read the contents even with the spyglass – so I looked it up on the web.
It seems it is an alternative to Soya sauce, vegan & vegetarian. An alternative to Maggi, it says. The ingredients are WATER, Salt, Flavour Enhancers (Monosodium Glutamate, Disodium ‘5 Ribonucleotides), Vinegar, Glucose, and Flavourings (with Celery). I wonder what the secret flavourings are?
I might try a splash of it tonight with my BBQ beans, vegetable and potato meal? Or not? Worraya fink?
The sauce cupboard got special attention today.
The Polish sauce was used on the potatoes in the Crock-Pot. It was similar tasting to Worcester Sauce.
The BBQ sauces should last me a while. I seem to a have had a moment when I ordered them… I may have overdone it a fraction in ordering so many bottles.
I think I was dithering over which brand to get and seemed to order every type they had in stock? And why sweet pickle? I don’t even like it!
Well, blow me down with a feather duster! Who ordered the naughty cream cakes?
Surely not me? Did I? No, it must be a mistake! Shame I didn’t notice it at the time. I would have sent them back if I had, of course.
I belatedly got the tackled.
Well, when I got the results from the NHS Analyser, I was well leased and over the moon.
But it made me think of the poor this morning.
I’m fretting now for him. Whatever bug has got him, he needs to have it checked out: that’s what he would have told me to do. Might even be Covid, Flu or associated with his Diabetes – 2? It’s knocked him for six, no question about it. In a way, I’d be happy to see him taking time off to get it sorted. Which, in itself, means I can’t get in touch to try to see how he is going. Poor lad. Oh, the Health Checks (I wondered off-plot there for a moment).
Well, as you can see, I’m back down in the HIGH-NORM Zone. That’s four times on this chart!
Now for the Ablutionalisationings. I have to admit to a little bit of apprehensiveness about this. I don’t think I’ve mentioned it yet, but I had two bad bouts earlier and three bad incidents. The last one was while I was putting stuff in the freezer from Asda. Had I not been in that spot when it came, I could have taken a fall and landed forward on the floor. Luckily my landing against the fridge was far less hazardous. So, I’m going to take my time in the shower and try to keep near the grab rail. Also, be weary when shaving and dressing. This could take some time, but I’m not bothered, let it. Better safe than sorry.
Back in a bit… I hope, Har-har! .
I was right; it was a long job. The shaving produced a few minor cuts, that took a while to stop bleeding this time. The Warfarin INR level is far too high, meaning the blood is thinner. The teeth cleaning caused more bleeding than ever before.
This is partly due to the teeth rotting and breaking and the high INR level.
The thing I was worried about, the showering, was Dizzy Dennis-free! Just the one head-butting of the power box, which was nothing serious. Drying off afterwards, I cleared about 30% of the items on the top of the floor cabinet!
I got them back on again, much to the discomfort of . I lost a little of the olive oil, and unfortunately, I trod on the tube of Germoloid and lost some as it squirted out. A shame because this is my last tube. !
I took an accidental shot as I was putting the camera down.
The flash activated and gave me a dazzling shaving mirror.
It’s the only mirror in the flat. When you look like me, it’s best not to demoralise yourself by looking at a reflection of a senile old man looking back at you. Hehe! My noisy neighbour above started drilling and clanging at something or other. I’m sure it was coming from straight above, but may have been repairmen working?
I then had to again utilise the . A decent evacuation, even if a bit messy.
Went to pick up hearing aids to put them in… and PLOP!
No more needs to be said other than maybe !!! Another half-hour lost cleaning things up! Grumph! I finished the medicationalisationings and got dressed. But guess what I did wrong… I got into the morning clothes and not the night attire! After spending about two hours in total up to this point in the wet room, then had to get out of the clothes I’d just struggled to get into, the jammie-bottoms, nightshirt, night socks and dressing gown. However, I did manage to get the socks on without using the dreaded, deadly assured of being injured by . But was injured by my losing my balance and hitting of all things to hit… my , on the corner of the floor cabinet as I went down on one knee, caused by a short attack from , just as I had one leg up off of the floor (talk about timing!) and setting off !!! I suppose I ought to be glad I didn’t get a
I got the BBQ beans in the pan, and I added half a jar of 7-Meditterrraean roasted vegetable sauce and gently heated it up slowly, stirring all the time. Well, not all the time, cause I had to go back to the wet room for a quick wee-wee… I found I’d left the sink tap running! , I’m not doing very well here, am I? I got the meal served up. I had the potato from the crock pot sliced with the beans. And four of the part-cooked mini roll, oven-baked for six minutes. Flavour-Rating 8.8/10. The rolls were delicious! I gave them a quick spray with some olive oil when I put them in the oven.
Sacrosanct Herbert was back to his usual concert of mechanical noises. The tap-tapping with the occasional cappella solo. And it was lovely. Even if I was missing my favourite ‘Heartbeat programme on the TV. Hehe! Played and woke me up, and in came . I was very slow-witted and tired. It may sound odd, but doing ablutions with all the attached Whoopsiefangleploppery, Accifauxpas and cock-ups, I believe, took a lot out of me. Poor old sausage! Hahaha! I did remember to check if she’d had her Christmas bottle of choice yet, and she had not – So she took her fancied pick. I think we had a natter, but what about escapes me… No, it doesn’t! It’s come back to me!It was about the poor . The lad has gone home due to his state of health. Oh, I do hope he’ll be alright! Carolynne departed after checking the taps and cooker, taking the waste bag with her. Nice gal! I locked the door.
I nodded off to sleep with relative ease. But it didn’t last. Back to the lousy fitful jumping awake and struggling to get back to sleep repeatedly! Harrumph!
Sorry for the contents being short on details today. One of those impossible-to-concentrate days.
Another can’t-get-to-sleep night. But at least I slept in, a reaction from the body mayhap in protest at Sweet Morpheus’s attitude to my requests for rest. So I reckon I’d got nigh on 6-hours of kip, much better.
I didn’t get up until 06:30hrs. A hint of mode came to me when I realised that if I slept this long on Wednesday, I could blob getting the lift to the hospital. Oh, dear!
I got up, had a wee-wee, emptied and cleaned the overnight bucket, and pressed on with getting the sorted. A couple of nicks shaving, but nothing serious. The teggies, shaving and washing etc., went rather well, actually. With the Porcelain Throne session, though. Unexpectedly, Trotsky Terence took over the bowels this time. What a mess!
I dressed and got the computer on, and did the health checks for today.
Well, what a nice surprise! Still in the Amber. .
arrived while I was making a brew and looking at what I’d got to eat for dinner in the fridge and cupboards.
Richard got the medications sorted and went and fetched the Flash speed mop and assembled it was a little quick for me to follow, but he kindly went through it again a little later for me. Who’s getting thick in his Dementia Doreen affected days? Hehe! You’re right!
Not only that, he used it… Fancy using someone’s new mop for the first time! It’s taken the edge off of my enthusiasm now, for the first time to use it. Hehehe! Only joking!
I must say he did it in no time. He didn’t move everything out of the way for this demonstration, and it seemed like three minutes before it was done! Not confident about setting the new pads, but when I’ve done it a few times I should be alright. As long as the shakes don’t come on while I’m trying to fit them. What are the odds you’re offering for that a fit, shake, involuntary leg dance and or that the neurotransmitters don’t go offline when I try to fit the pads the first time? Hahaha!
Richard put the attachments on the old Carers table for me, telling me to leave them there, so you don’t lose them, keep them in sight! Richard knows what’s what. Bless him!We had a little natter, and he had to go; understandably, his bed awaited his attention.
I slipped him some treats, I insisted, said my farewells and thanked him for his help. But something was not right the moment he departed, and I shut the door; EQ told me not to panic… I wasn’t panicking. at least, I didn’t think I was. I thought I was in a good mood after just having Richard helping me. Annoyingly, EQ did not to me speak again? Somethings coming up that do me no good, but what and when? I forgot all about it and went to make a brew of, not Glengettie – for I have run out of their teabags. I could have sworn I had a box of them in the spare room, too! I also believed I had another box of the Co-op 99 teabags, but neither was seeable? Such are the mysteries of Woodthorpe Court, with the ghosts, wraiths, spectres, cacodemons, apparitions, and other grotesqueries that haunt the hallways and lobbies, searching for Inchcock; to curse with bad luck, create ambiguities, abstrucities, perplexities, misfortunes and botherations, to scare. worry and confuse me! They hide things as well!
I took photographs of the morning view from the kitchenette window! When I got around to loading these, I found the top one from yesterday. I’m pretty certain I did not put it in the Sunday blog. The morning rain was just bringing down another mini mudslide at the end car park.
I took a shot of the much-missed tree copse. I really loved walking through that up the hill to the Woodthorpe Grange Park every day… sadly I miss the smells and the odd wildlife when walking through the trees… and if anyone was about, I’d talk to the trees and any animals showing themselves to me. I noticed how full the bottom car parking spaces were, and this made me realise how late I’d got up, and it brought about the worries of me not getting ready in time if the hospital transport came early. In fact, I dreaded missing them.
It cheered me up so, to see it was Nurse Hristina from the Phlebotomy DVT Warfarin Clinic to take a blood sample for the INR reading. She patiently read the Cataract letter for me to see if there were any signs of whether or not they were going to perform the operation on Wednesday – or if it would be another two Pre-assessments. I’ve had six already? When Deana rang the Queen’s Medical Centre Hospital about it, whoever she spoke to said she didn’t know either! Getting fed up comes easier for me! Hristina was very patient with me. ♥
Very belatedly, I got on the computer to update the Sunday blog, going on the WordPress comments section first. After an hour or two, a message came up from Microsoft warning about heavy rain in your area today?
Herbert in the flat above started his banging about again. I did not retaliate. Although I’m not saying I wasn’t tempted to. Eventually, very late on, I got the updating done and posted.
l wandered into the kitchen and added some items to the planned meal.&- Roasted veg sauce and some soya imitation bacon bits.
While making a brew, I think whatever EQ was on about affected me. Not going into detail; just saying that my concentration was abysmal. I struggled to get making a brew of Thompson’s Punjana tea made properly. I decided to sit down for a while to drink the tea. (It went cold) I nodded off, and I was flabbergasted when about three hours later. rudely woke me up. I thought it might be the evening carer, but no one came in. So I went to the door, and it was Josie bringing back the pots from her Sunday lunch. I was awake enough to ask her if she enjoyed it, and she answered, ‘Yes, very nice!’ That was good!
I went back to the computer, and I started doing this blog. But soon found it unbelievably hard work. Something was wrong; I just couldn’t spell words, understand them, or understand what I was doing minutes earlier… genuinely worrying.
Then the fretting over not getting up in time for the j074:00 > 09:00hr pick-up on Wednesday. Anything was likely to get me worrying at that moment. What’s going on?
Then, Herbert kicked off again. This time I matched each clatter and bang with one of my own, hitting the top[ of the tall bookcase. At least he stopped. Around 18:20 hours, I got the chilli mixture cooking. Hope the Carer doesn’t come while I’m eating it – didn’t think of that before.
As I typed that, in walked Carer Jodie. Hehehe! Early tonight, but she sounded a little Jaded. I soon got her laughing with my natterings after she did the medications. Treats in thanks, and off she went on her mission. Hehe!
Got the bean chilli and veg nosh served up. Had the last two brown cobs with it, and a lemon soya yoghourt
Very nice; the seasonings seemed to work alright. The smoked 7- Mediterranean Vegetable sauce suited this chilli.
As you can see, I didn’t leave a lot in the dish. Hahaha!
A flavour rating of 8.2/10 seemed to be a fair judgement. I just hope that the innards don’t start erupting later… Sweet Morpheus was again reluctant to let me nod off. He relented in the early hours of the morning, and I think I got four-hours-uninterrupted shut-eye! Then sprang awake, nodded, woke, slept, woke, fell asleep, woke… Humph!
07:30hrs: Woke wanting a wee-wee. I thought it would never come; it must have been 15hrs without one. It was hardly worth it, a painful sprinkle or two. At least the bladder is working again, so fingers crossed!
I set, too, giving myself a medical MOT. And taking ‘As needed’ non-prescription medications. There is no need for ointmentating this morning, No Little Inchies fungal lesion or Harold’s Haemorrhoids bleeding whatsoever! Excellent results on the blood pressure machine, best for ages!
The only thing not so good was the body temperature. That was way down low again. Been under the NHS’s recommended 35°c for a few days now. I don’t feel poorly; I am a lot chirpier in myself this morning. Although I felt so cold when it obviously isn’t?
I took some under-tongue CBS oil. And a Hemp capsule too.
Got the ears well saturated with the Olive oil. Let it sink in, and then I filled up the canals with more. This never seems to help, but I’ve got into the habit of doing it each morning now.
Then took a Dioctyl to help skid up the darned Porcelain Throne evacuations. Messy. Gooey, watery! Eurgh!
I got a few Warfarin tablets ready, so the carers will have some available for the evening doses.
Then, had a bash at syringing both ears. Not only a total waste of time; I failed to remove any wax at all, but I made such a mess I had
to clean up the water that had sprayed out off or missed the ears! Hehe!
Got the kettle on and sorted the laundry, not forgetting that talk-a-lot Esther would give me some hassle if it wasn’t ready and sorted when she arrived later this morning! Not that she scares me an anything like that, of course. Ahem!
I took this snap of the lovely morning sky with its ever-changing hues. Mother Nature, again shows us her beauty! The beauty we have been destroying for years.
Got the computer on and started on the WordPress reader and commenting, and the ♫ Oh, Susana ♫ chime brought forth Carer Richard. I thought the lad was late coming; he’s had extra calls on again and was in a rush because he had a four-hour training session later when he finishes work with the Diabetes team to get through. No time for any good natterings today again. I think he felt guilty about it, so I tried to cheer him up, wished him all the best, and gave him a bag of treats. Then, I walked (well, hobbled) with Richard to the lift lobby and wished him well for the meeting.
Took this photo of the car park in front of Woodthorpe Court from the kitchenette window. Made a brew of Glengettie tea and was about to return to the computer with the nug of tea – but circumstances changed…
As usual with Neuropathy Pete, his timing caused the optimum amount of pain and hassle. An involuntary right-leg Neuropathic Schuhplattler drop-something and flail-about dance made me drop the cup as I grabbed Metal-Micky and the side of the sink to keep from going over. Once more, it was over in seconds, but I still managed to clout my knee on the edge of a floor cupboard. Which awakened Cartilage Cathy in agony! Humph!
Sorted myself out and took an extra Codeine. And fond this photo of a meal from which I can’t work out? It was not a good photo in any way, shape or form, so it might be one that I meant to delete from the file?
Started on the Snippets blog, and the Iceland delivery arrived. I let him in through the intercom box in the hallway, and I cleared a path to put the bags into.
The driver took the bags through to the kitchen for me. Gave him a choice of plonk cans in thanks. He opted, I noticed, for the Rum and coke. Hehe! Good for him; I hope it cheered him up a smidge.
They sent the Rustlers for Richard, sugar snap peas, mushrooms and some new Pork & Pickle Bites. Three for a fiver, so they must be good. One for Josie, one for Richard and one for Esther. I got some small apples that, hopefully, my lesser-teethed mouth can manage to eat. Har-har! They had no small vine tomatoes in stock but have sent me a pack of large tomatoes, Dutch, that had a sell-by date for today. No charge!
The best thing they had sent was the No-Moo ice creams and No-Bull burgers. The best of any burgers I have tried! The ice cream is by far superior in taste to what one might call natural ice cream. Grrreat Flavour both! I’d have ordered more, but I dared not with Iceland’s record of crap unrelated substitutions!
I had another go at getting the Snippet Ode done. (I did get it finished, but not until I’d been grafting on it, on & off, for another nine hours!) Esther arrived and came talkingly into the room. She still wasn’t near enough for me to hear her, and I feared that she may have something vital as she went into the hall, front, and living rooms.
It’s not so bad when she’s face to face and not shouting at me rather than talking to me. Esther, bless her, has a habit of talking and carrying on. Esther keeps talking to me from the rear of my ear lobes as she turns away… the peace and quiet are nice. But there is always danger in this… She has a great memory and thinks because she’s told me something, I must have heard it and will remember it. (Both are impossible in my condition, Haha!)
Then, a week later, I get an ear-bashing from about 4 inches distance and am informed that “I told you that last week!” telling offs. Luckily I can rest assured that Esther will nip off into the other room to have a nosey around my boxes and occasionally iron a shirt… but talking to me all the time from the other room… still, I knew what to expect. Hehe! Obviously, I had forgotten something or not heard it. I’m glad I got the pork & pickle thingamabobs for her now. Giving her then assuaged her aggression. I joke, of course… Erm? She’s an angel, really.
I got the ready meal into the oven and had roughly 40 minutes before it was cooked. I must not fall asleep!
Back to doing the blog, I trudged. ♫ Oh, Susana ♫ rang out, and I wearily (Mentally) went to the door. It was Josie, returning the tray and things for me from the Sunday meal. Bless her cotton socks; she enthused over the taste of this Sunday’s chilli stew! That cheered me up a bit! She even asked if I used to be a chef? Oh dearie me! My EQ was nervous at this. Naturally, I had no idea why at the time. A feeling of foreboding matured…
I got on with the Snippet blogging again! So deep in concentration… still making errors after cock-ups, though. Then it dawned on me that the food was in the oven!!!
Grade A: It looked like this after I’d burnt my fingers getting the tray out of the oven post haste! Not good, is it? But I was so tired and weary that I still used it and made a meal of sorts out of it.
I added some BBQ sauce to the tray. Got some slices of Milk Roll bread, tomatoes and sugar snap peas onto the tray.
I was part mad at myself, well darned annoyed with myself, and so tired and drained, I didn’t get too agitated. Yet I still laughed at myself as I tried to dismantle the encrusted burnt meal to get at some edible bits of food. It helped in having some bread and sauce to soak some resuscitated bits to eat.
By the time I’d finished burnt food mining, which was tasty, believe it or not, bits of burnt food had been scattered far and wide on my stomach folds, down the pants, on the tray, and on the floor and recliner cushion. The carpet took on a new design; there were many black, ash-like bits of residue on it. I faced a long task in getting things sorted… and the kitchen and oven needed cleaning attention as well.
I was all in by the time I got things semi-put right. I made a brew of Thompson’s Punjana tea and ate a huge bowl full of veggie ice cream! I finished it and lay there as I dropped off to sleep – it was so good that I think I dreamed of sleeping…
♫Oh, Susana♫ Chimed out, and Carer Valerie came in. I’d been up and about for around 12 hours by then, and waking up after five minutes of sleeping was not what I wanted… Hehehe! I remembered to give Valerie her Pork & Pickle whatsits, though.
I felt awful but could not resist the urge to finish the blog. The internet went down… now I was getting annoyed!
I pressed on and got the Snippets blog finished at long last. It stayed that way; it was now gone midnight! I realised then that I had not done the ablutions today!
Humph!
ODE TO PUTIN
Is it true that hopes and expectancies are always there?
Putin’s are conspicuous, World Domination, I fear…
He’s somewhat of a Worldwide parcel courier?
Soon, bigger, dirtier packages will be sent, and nuclear…
Where will the scumball strike next? Europe and Asia, it’s unclear… Anywhere, somewhere, possibly a country that’s weaker?
Is it true that he wears a lemon and pink brassier? Shags Igor Sechin, his First Deputy Prime Minister? He laughs at citizens dead or gathered for warmth around a brazier, The man could not be any more selfish and crazier!
I insult the shithead cause there’s nothing else I can do… But I would, if I could, send him a can of poisoned Irish stew, I wonder if he likes it from his minions in his rear? He’d like to make his competition dead or disappear? What competition? He’s got more weapons & forces than we do… He’s more soldiers in Moscow’s Red Square!
We cannot afford to send troops there…
We’ve not got enough, nor has anyone else, to be fair…
I wish we could send him Tony Blair…
Notice he’s not volunteered to do any damage repair?
Putin offers and hopes only for death and despair…
To the rest of the world, we can only die or forebear…
Unless you bribe him if you’re a financier?
Then he just might take a fancy to yer?
