07:00hrs: A second decent night’s kip for the old man, then. (It’s not often I can say that!)
I thought it wise to wait for a little before getting excited; I’d not done the checks yet, and I didn’t want to bring it back to reality just yet for a while.

I went into the kitchenette, mainly to check on the taps, stove, fridge etc. to make sure I’d not left anything on that shouldn’t be. All Clear!
So, a was duly adopted!

It was a foggy morning, not unlike those we used to get every November so many years ago. The memories flowed for a while. as I took these photographs!
Not necessarily good recollections. But a few did sneak in.
Got the Health checks done.

Pulse decent at 33.1°1f.

Sorry to say that the flipping Blood Pressure came out up in the Top Red area, Hypertension Three!
But only just. Hehe!

The SYS was really high this time at Red-Risk 162.

The Dia was fine in the Amber zone.

The Pulse was creeping back up again at 78.

I just can’t understand why they have classed in the red-three zone.
When three of the four are in the Amber zone?
I expected to be well lower down on the scale. Mind you, the SYS was high.
Came in. Got the medications sorted, and the lad was in a rush; I could sense it… his being so late told me that as well. He wanted his bed, and who could blame him. Talked him into trying a cold Starbuck Coffee for his thank-you treat. Be interesting to see what he say’s about it later next week. I bet Richard won’t take a coffee with Rum & Coke and his favourite, Pink Gin and lemon, being on offer. Hehe! He can have a coffee as well.
I got the mince in the pan with the beans and added some flavourings.

I’m well known as a flavourings-adder, you know. Hehehe!

Then I got two large potatoes in the big saucepan on the boil, and I nipped back to the computer to get her started and begin updating the Saturday blog. I had to avoid getting distracted with blogging for fear of forgetting about Josie’s meal cooking.

Went back to check, and the potatoes were already done? It only seemed like ten minutes. But, of course, it was longer.
As you can see in the photo here when it came to dicing the spuds ready to go in the oven to bake them crispy… This is how one potato turned out – Bad!
So, not so many spuds in Josie’s meal today.
Got the diced and olive-oil-sprayed spuds in the heated oven.
Had a clean-up. And back to the computer.
That is not blood on the paper towel. Oh, no! It’s probably jam or ketchup, something like that. As if a man of my calibre would cut his right index finger while slicing the spud, laughable.
Did some work on the blog, mostly correcting errors made. Tsk! Bet I still missed no end of them!

Added spuds to the saucepan of chilli-stew, or whatever you want to call it. But after taking out approximately half of the stew and placing it into a separate lidded-tub
This is Josie’s 2nd meal for Monday. She heats it up in her microwave. I try to make the two meals different for her. After taking out the Monday portion, I added some basil and BBQ to the first lot and stirred it up, warming it gently. No potatoes in the Monday one, either.
I had 20-minutes or so on the blog and made up Josie’s tray.

I’d got carried away today… Just look at that pile of stew in the bowl for her. It might get her eating better, but it is bound to get me accused of trying to make her look like Betty Bunter.
Now, for the less mature whippersnappers, these names will mean nothing. But to us kings growing up[ in the ’50s, they were previously revered. For they were in comics that we read.
Possibly. In this photo, Betty’s name is Bessie Bunter, but later she became Betty; I don’t know why. It’s me mishearing what Josie was saying… I’ll have to check that later with her.

But she was for the girls, and for us lads, we had Billy Bunter.
Two overweight kids that always seemed to get the better of their parents in the story we read. Hehehe!
I think that Sister Jane was a fan of that comic. There was the Topper, Beezer, Beano, Dandy, Eagle & others. Not bad for a bloke who read his instructions from the nut-house hospital last night and can’t remember anything he read?

Note the changing times in the covers here? In those days, the girls were trained as domestics, not future wives. So, Billy gets excitement out in the woods with criminals, and Betty-Bessie battles the fight to get food in the house. Not a single person back then mentioned them being unhealthily overweight. Hahaha! I wondered off subject again there, didn’t I?

Back to the diary: I delivered the meals to Josie.
I remembered taking the Lumix camera with me in my pocket, and I’d also got it in my bag! Every little victory, you know!

Josie was looking better today; bless her cotton socks. I’m not sure who is the more forgetful between us… but my guess would be it being even-stevens! Hehehe! The deafness we also share is just the same. She didn’t notice the over twice the usual amount of chillie-stew and the larger bowl I had to use to get it all in.
About Gawd knows when… I got the Saturday blog posted off.
Carer Carolynne arrived. We got the medications sorted and had a natter. (Well, I did!) Hehe! Forced treats in thanks on her. She took the waste bags with her as she left; with a smile.

Not in the flat, though. There was a fire in Basford or Sherwood area. I took these pictures of it. Much smoke varying from white to black and a few bursts of flames.
Annoyingly, I could find nothing on the news or the internet about it.

These chronologically go from left to right as you go down.

.

Shame I couldn’t find them for a newspaper to use.

It’s 20:00hrs already! I’ll get something to eat, then my head down, I think.
♫ Food, Glorious Food ♫ Flavour-Rating 7.2/10. And I was surprised at how tasty the Adkins cobs were.
The Asda Soya lemon yoghourt was its usual tasty treat.

I got ensconced in the aged, grotty-looking c1966 made, charity-shop-bought, horribly beige-coloured, £300, Harold’s Haemorrhoid-testing, non-operational, acne-giving, virus-breeding, rickety, easy-to-fall-out-of recliner.

Sleep came quickly tonight!
But could I stay asleep? No! I woke up jouncingly, joltingly, or jarringly so often; it almost tired me out! Fair enough, I got back to sleep quickly enough, but minutes later (it seemed), I was once again twitchingly woken up!

Sweet Morpheus was playing with me once more…

Or, mayhap it was , continuing on her mission along with the other mysteries of Woodthorpe Court, with the hobgoblins, spectres, gnomai, phantasms, ghosts, the grotesque succubae, extraterrestrials, ectoplasms, spirits, or the Fata Morganas, that have been sent to taunt, irritate and terminate my already limited saneness of mind?

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

04:30hrs: I can’t tell you I woke up cause I never got to sleep! Because I had   For all night long! I was forever getting up to stretch the calves, massage them and dollop on and rub in the Phorpain Gel.
And take painkillers. I meandered into the kitchen to get the kettle on for a mug of Glengettie tea. I took these photos from the window; in two different settings, and the second came out much better than the first one did. But can I remember which settings?
Made a brew of the Glengettie, left the bag to marinate well, and I sorted out the waste bin bags. Had a wee-wee and cleaned and disinfected the NWWB (Nocturnal-Wee-Wee-Bucket)
To the computer with the tasty strong mug of black tea and photographed the calves; they were coming down, the carves were easing off now. As long as I do not spend too much time inactive, I hope they will stop twisting my legs. I can’t understand why they played up so much last night and just didn’t stop for about nine hours? However, they seem to have had a calming effect on the able ulcer; I could hardly see it this morning. Hey-Ho!
Finished the tea… ah, now that might be a possible reason for the bad Cramps. I’d run out of Glengettie teabags and not had any for a day or two until they were delivered yesterday. And had drunk a number of mugs last night? But I’ve never heard of that before? I’ll look it up later.

I’ll get the Health Checks done. hopefully, the results will again be in the Amber Zone? We shall soon find out…

Back up again!

Still, it’s better than Wednesdays!

I set to getting the Thursday post done, and after half an hour, I could feel the cramps building up in the calves again. So, I had a walk around and did some stretching exercises, which seemed to work for me.
Which reminded me to have a look on the web for tea and cramps. Back in a while…

Carbonated drinks, caffeine, and aerated drinks should also be avoided during menstrual days because they have high levels of sugar in them, which can cause inflammation and make the cramps more severe.

No mention of tea there, then?
I started reading another page, and it said: 13 more ways to stop period cramps. I moved on…
I altered my queries to “What to drink when legs are cramping?”
Black tea is safe to drink. When he switched to plain black tea, the symptoms disappeared within a week. The scientist who reported this case pointed out that the flavouring in Earl Grey tea is bergamot oil, which can block the movement of potassium in muscles. This can lead to muscle cramps and twitches.
Well, Glengettie is black tea. So that should be safe, then.

Came in. She looked very tired, but I bored her with tales of my past Whoopsiedangleplops, which brought some smiles. She got the medications handed out.  A can of the new Carer’s treat I got from Asda. Rum & Cola, with strawberry. And a choccy bar in thanks. Took the waste bag with her as she departed! I thank you!

I was making another brew of Glengettie, and Esther came in.
she called int ogive me the change from the overpayment.

I’m going to get the ablutions done now… then get something to eat, and try to get caught up with some sleep… Pleeease! Sweet Morpheus!

I got sidetracked when I saw the wonderful evening sky from the kitchen window and decided they would be worth photographicalisationing.
The hue was so different. Bootiful!

I stripped and put the clobber in the laundry basket, well, bag.

I got into the bathroom, and the ablutioning went well, other than two things.

❶ I managed to get several nicks shaving, and they were a devil to stop bleeding. (Possible Warfarin INR level low?)
❷ After it all was washed and medicated and dried... I did feel like l a fool… I came out and put trousers and day-wear on to go to sleep in!. So I had to changed back into the jammies! Tsk!

🍽️ I got the meal sorted out.
That veggie minced beef & onion pie was gorgeous tasting! Brilliant vegan pastry.
Potatoes, tomatoes, and a pot of the soya lemon yoghourt. My regulation issue of BBQ sauce added, of course.
A well-worthy 8.2/10 for Taste-Rating.
As I got into the aged, grotty-looking c1966 made, charity-shop-bought, horribly beige-coloured, £300, Harold’s Haemorrhoid-testing, non-operational, acne-giving, virus-breeding, rickety, easy-to-fall-out-of recliner, I think I felt the start of a visit from ! I offered a prayer to anyone or thing interested, not to have another agony-ridden sleepless night.
Then thought it wise, to massage the legs.
Dolloped some Phorpain gel and rubbed it in well, and I took two paracetamol. Got back down again.
I’ve no idea if it really helped, but by Jimminee – once I got to sleep, I had the longest unbroken kip I’ve managed for years! (This should not be surprising, I suppose, considering last night’s total absence of sleep?) Damned nearly 8 hours before I woke up!
Sleep at last! Grrreat!.

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

00:15hrs: I woke up with a little jerk and waited for the brain to catch me up. I was feeling surprisingly calm, considering the upcoming ‘bound-to-be-a-farce’ prepping for the hospital visit, then the mysteriously unknown what for; by both the hospital reception, Deana, Carer Richard, Carer Shannon, Carer Jodie, appointments themselves.

Made a brew of Thompson’s Punjana tea. Updated the Tuesday blog. It took longer than I expected cause I had the evening photos taken to tweak and add.

PREPARED THINGS I NEEDED TO TAKE WITH ME: To the hospital. I’ll have to remember to put the hearing aids in later. Got the paperwork in a plastic folder. Put that with the four spectacles needed. List of medications and doses. I can’t remember the others now, but I’m not going to take them out of the carrier again for fear of losing or forgetting to take them.

Got the clothes needed to change into. Socks, shirt, trews, and a long-sleeved thick shirt.
Into the wet room.
No messing, I got the teggies done, bleeding gums, and started Toothache Tiffany of again.
A few more than usual cause I was rushing, I suppose. I thought to myself, a 2-hour ETA means I’ll be sitting waiting and afraid to do anything cause I’ve got to respond straight away; they tell me when the lift arrives.
Possibly the same reason for the dropsies in the shower? Showerhead, gel bottle (3), flannel, loofah (2) and knocked the scum-cleaner bottle over. What was it doing in there? Well… I’ve no idea?
Drying off under the wall heater (Blimey, it was cold this morning!), I dropped the towel twice. The second time I tried to catch it… well, I did, actually. But I knocked endless items off of the floor cabinets in the process… The olive oil dropper, Eye drops, Germoloid ointment and
Daktacort cream. The oil dropper (it had to be the hardest thing!) landed right on my right foot’s Onychovryptosis (Ingrowing toenail)!
Having medicated and refreshed myself, I started to dress by putting on the Protection-Pants… Felt a twinge of pain from the bum and investigated… I fear it’s another boil or furuncle coming on.
I avoided using Sock-Glide-Glenda by leaning back into a corner of the room and managed to get both socks on.
But copped for a Right leg Neuropathic Schuhplattler dance as I was just about to get both feet on the ground! Hence, I now have a bruise on my right knee and another one on the elbow.
Then I got to do the .

How disappointing, down-heartening and annoying!

I was rather hoping to make it a hat-trick of good numbers…

I was making a mug of Glengettie and spotted the high, very small moon. Surrounded by beautiful blue skies.

Then I proceeded in a northerly direction and zoomed in on the planet. With hopes of getting some detail of the surface showing.

I don’t know why I bother!

I suppose there is a chance that the eyes are not picking out the finer points. No!

I decided suddenly (I do that sometimes, you know), To go downstairs and wait in the front lobby for the lift to the hospital. Did some checks first.

I left down at 0713hrs.

Tenant Chrissie was in the lobby, waiting for her taxi to arrive. We had a most enjoyable chinwag ad nattering session between us.

I got the crossword book out and had a go at it.
But it was a futile effort. As I read a clue, the whole page of them would blend together and look almost like running water! I gave up.

The marks that I could see on the windows while looking out for the lift arriving, for some reason, annoyed me?

At 0858hrs, I spotted the lift arriving. And thus began a long, late arrival for my appointment at the Queens Medical Centre and the EENT department.
The two drivers had three other patients in the ambulance and picked up two more en route.
The traffic was bad. When we arrived, they dropped me off first, and the driver put me in a wheelchair, and they both came in with me to ascertain I got to the right place.
This is how it went: We got to the EENT main reception and showed them the paperwork. The female told me. they had to go up to the third floor – which we did.
On the third floor, the paperwork came out again, and we were told we needed the fourth floor.
I recognised the fourth-floor area; that’s where I went on my last visit. The paperwork came out again, and we were told to go back down to the first floor again! So, we did!
A different receptionist checked the paperwork this time. And they took me through to another clinic to await being called into an assessment room.
within minutes, a young nurse came for me.
Asked why I was in a wheelchair. Can’t you manage with the trolley guide you’ve got? ‘Yes, I replied’ We went into a room to have a longish question and answer session. She checked the spectacle paperwork and began to tell me what was going to happen when they called me back.
She spoke so quickly, that I missed a lot of what she was saying. But didn’t worry too much, as she gave me paperwork and leaflets to give before coming in. 42 pages of them! See lower down on this page!  I then departed to the reception desk and was told where to wait for my lift.
Five hours later, the lift arrived! Another run around, too.
A patient and Carer were already in the ambulance.
The driver cleverly got us to the Treatment Centre to collect another patient.
It didn’t take him long to fetch him. Then in the heavy traffic again, the chap made his way to Basford to drop off the second patient gathered.
Then on to Carrington, to a nursing home to drop off the other patient and carer. And have a laugh and chinwag with the crowd of Carer females who came out to see him. Must admit, he was rather good-looking. Hehe!
Then, back to Sherwood to drop me off.

I thanked him and got the kettle on, sharpish. While it was boiling, I took a quick look at the paperwork I’d got to digest for the operation…

This is going to take some absorbing, methinks!

I got on with updating this blog. And was doing pretty with it. Then, the computer would not let me type or use the keyboard on anything?
I believed I’d just hit a series of wrong keys in my rushing to get the job done. But I know not what I’d actually done wrong. I turned off the computer and rebooted it… Argh! A dreaded Blue Screen came on! lt told me what keys to press for help and to Start… but pressing them made no difference.
I was incapable of sorting out anything. I was in a proper state, mentally, and felt this was the end of my beloved blogging days!
I was desperate, and I went to ask my neighbour Malcolm if he could help.
He came to take a look, uncertain if he could help.
Within minutes, he’s found the problem. The batteries in the keyboard had died a death! Malcolm fitted the new batteries and booted the computer up!
I was so relieved I could have kissed him – but didn’t, of course. Bless him; saved the day again!

I’d spent so long trying to sort it out; the blogging wasn’t caught up with me after all. and
Another late night in the offing. !

Came in and got the medications sorted out for me. I insisted on some treat-selecting being done! Bless her! Listened to my tale of the day’s farcicalnesses.

Went to get the nosh sorted out.
I got the mock pork in the oven cooking slowly on low heat. I forgot to add the olive oil spray tonight. That was not an amazing statement, considering the day I’d had. Took this photo of the evening skyline and had a look again at the leaflets, booklets and A4 pages of advice and instruction on the cataract pre and post-procedures.
My brain froze and refused to let me understand what I was looking at, had just read, or why I was bothering. Considering it was mostly fuliginous-flapdoodle and mostly incomprehensible to my affected brain. I gave up!

Checked the oven and got the TV on to watch what was left of the Heartbeat episode on channel ten.

I woke up and got the nosh served up.
I think the messy long day had affected me more than I thought – I was close to falling asleep several times while eating this meal. Tsk!
Ended up with terrible toothache before I’d finished eating it. Had to leave some of the shoulder and chips; too hard.

Washed the pots, washed and changed into jammies, into the recliner and commenced the usual routine of nodding off, springing awake, nodding off, nodding off, springing awake, nodding…

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Somewhere around 05:00hrs. The last few memories of a dream I’d been having faded from my memory. Completely gone in seconds! Claimed by the ether. The only remaining detail was that I was enjoying it. Tsk! I almost nodded off again, but more escapages of inf from the rear end started, interposed occasionally by a few belches.
Then the part taste of last night’s vegetable chillie came up into my mouth. It was not unpleasant. I questioned my eating chilli-con-carne in any form – I love the taste of it, but the innards always play up like this afterwards… I’ve knave to consider stopping eating them. Honestly, the farting and belching continued for hours.

Fantastic results again! Three out of the last four days, I’ve been in the Amber Zone. (High-Normal) Grrreat!

I was so pleased with these results, I got the graphics to use done on CorelDraw.

Getting the photo’s in, I came across a rather silly I’d made. I’d failed to put these two evening views from the kitchenette sink into Monday’s blog.

Graphics posted, I went to get the kettle on for a brew of tea. But got sidetracked by the getting-urgent need for the .
Not that he needed it, after yesterday’s messy session, but had the backing of the after-effects of the vegetable chilli-con-carne to ensure one of the pongiest, messiest evacuations, ever!
The instant the flow began, I felt a little giddy. The aroma, I imagine, was the cause of this.
It was all over in seconds… but the mess it left on my rear and in the bowl, took ages to clean up. I started a new toilet roll, and there were precious few left on the inner core by the time I’d cleared things so I could wash my bottie!
Thank heavens I had enough Germoloid ointment to use; it took an awful lot to ease the stinging of the poor .

Got the nappies on…; I mean Protection Pants.
Put the eye drops in, although not a lot got into the eyes as usual. More ended up in my mouth and moustache than the eyes. Olive-Oiled the ear holes. All this time, I kept flushing the WC and repeatedly waited for the tank to refill to try and clear ‘things’ again!
I took a Galpharm capsule, hoping it may calm things down in the Dirrahorea department.

I washed up, checked things in the wet room, and went off to make a brew of tea again. The tea had to wait again…

For the moon was out and high late, and with the cloudy conditions out there in the dark, I just had to try and get some decent photographs of the planet. So, I fetched the Lumix to give it a go.

I was not pleased with the resulting photographs.
But I kept on taking them, hoping I could get just one decent, detailed picture, a good shot… Huh!.

But it was not meant to be.
.

To my disappointment, I forgot I’d made the mug of tea, and I left it to get cold on the side of the stove and went back to the computerisationing.

Started updating the Monday blog.

Chimed out as I got up, thinking I had not unlocked the door yet, and chuntering to myself.
Came into the room. How can I not remember if I’d unlocked the door or not? Silly Question!
Richard made an alarm battery alert check with the NCH (Nottingham City Homes) control.
Got the medications sorted out. And he’d used an End run to get around things and arranged for the Carer this evening to pack the morning medications in a pot, so I could take them in the morning before the trip out to the hospital. When I suggested this, at first, we thought the powers that be would not allow us to do this; in case I get up thinking of sorting the many things needed to take with me to the hospital and forget to take the tablets – I still might.
Richard wrote a note on the whiteboard that the evening carer might spot, and now it’s up to me to remember to remind her. (Fingers crossed, but I reckon I will!)
Rich moved the spectacles distance, reading, and sunglasses, that I had to take with me nearer to the list of instructions and medication listings he’d sorted out for me. A grand lad! We had a laugh over my passing wind and belching all the time he was here. Hehehe!
Om leaving, he said he wouldn’t see me until next Monday and wished me well with the Cataracts – if they do them, that is. Bless him! Gave him some treats in thanks, wished him well, and he took the waste bags on his way out.

I got back to blogging. But it was as if a different person was doing it. Back to the mistake-making, , and the concentration had collapsed again. Very frustrating. I pressed on and got the Monday blog posted to WordPress. Then decided to stop on this blog. I was almost going backwards, getting nowhere.
I ditched and washed the cold mug of brew, and I made the much-awaited fresh drink of tea.

The Asda delivery arrived, and this driver actually put the breakable and damageable goods in different boxes for me.

Thank you, mate!

The feast of food was put away after posing for some photographic recordings. Hehehe!

I’m hoping the treats products have a good life on them. But could not see the dates on so many of them. In fact, some don’t seem tp have any on them at all.

But that’s likely because of my ailments , , and .

I’d got a lot in, so as to avoid struggling in the event that the hospital does do the Cataract tomorrow. But it remains a mystery as to why I’ve been called in, and Deana called the QMC to ask if it is for the operation, and they were as puzzled with the wording n the appointment sheet as we were!

The imitation pork looked more like pot than pork does. If it’s anything like as good as the mock sausages, they should be good.

I got them in the oven after sorting the other things out.

The meal went down a treat! Yellow & red tomatoes, soya & herb pork, fries and some bread thins. Followed with a pot of lemon soya yoghourt… my new favourite dessert from Asda. My Flavour Rating for this one is 8/10.

.

Carer Shannon woke me up. We had a decent nattering session after she’d done the medicating. Shannon made up a pot of morning medications and left it on the things on the Carers table for me to take with me to the hospital, so I should see it and take them. Selected a nibble and drinkie in thanks. Took the waste bag with her on her way out. I locked the door.

As I got back into the hallway, the evening sky caught my attention.

I took these three shots, two of the sky and scene and one of the bottom cars parked on Chestnut Walk.

I resettled in the £300, bought eight years ago from the second-hand shop, Harold Haemorrhoid testing, repugnantly beige-coloured, crumb containing, virus-breeding, acne-giving, rickety, itch-producing, none-working recliner.

Then the started. I was concerned about the mystery trip to the hospital in the morning.
Of course, all the other worries and concerns kept nipping in between this concern, and the brain could not cope with trying to make decisions about what needed doing and when.
I think I formulated this plan eventually. “Go to sleep now – get up and finish this blog ASAP. Get all the needed things together, then get the ablutions done, get dressed, and sit with the crossword book (If I can see enough to read the clues) if I can see and read the clues. Wait there for the arrival of the NHS lift that Deana arranged for me. They should be coming according to the message, twixt 0700 and 0900hrs. Then, trying to ignore Mind-Storming, tried to get to sleep.

No chance… I then thought, would it be better for me to get down in the lobby for 07:00hrs and wait there?

Oh, dearie me, Confusion Konrad was having his way.

Woke and got up at 00:30hrs…

WAKENING ODE

This Sunday morning, there was no yawning,
The Sabbath had already gone past its dawning…
It was the coming of a wee-wee he was anticipating…
Not his bladder, but his bowels started moving…
The movement started, and Inchie farted…
He flew to the Porcelain throne, almost running…
For the torpedo’s escape had started…
It almost flew out, hitting the water and splashing…

With the bleeding, he rapidly medicated…
He’s better now… he’s convalescing!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

As I was now located in the wet room, I decided to get the ablutions done. I nipped out and got the socks, shirt, and trousers to wear after the shave and showering.
Commenced. For some reason, Toothache Terence? I can’t understand why I didn’t clean the teggies?
The increased this morning. Only four, though, no bad ones.
I did notice the hairs on the neck, up the nose, and in both ears were growing at a rapid rate? As if someone had put Grow-More on them? I used the magnifying glass to check the ears; blimey, no wonder I’m having trouble hearing things. Just thought I’d mention it.
The showering went delightfully and free! I can’t claim the same in the .
Although not bleeding then, had been during the night and had scabbed.

So, it had to be removed and cleaned before the Daktacort could be applied. Of course, this didn’t bother me in the slightest. I think I might well have been singing to myself while rubbing in the ointment. Yodelling a Frank Ifield number, Wayward Wind it was. if I remember rightly… Ahem!
I got dressed, the computer on and tended to the .

The Body temperature was done first and gave me a minor shock. It’s been around 33°f or higher for a few days now. But it had plummeted down to 32.4°f now. According to the QMC-NHS, that is far too low for my needs. I’ll do it again later. It’s dead easy with My Chinese (Hong Kong) made by Shenzhen Relee Electronic & Technology Co. Ltd™, a contactless, hand-held thermometer.

The Sys had upped itself to 158, the DIA to 89 from 77. My Pulse was okay at 81. As noted, the temperature was, as Elvis sang it, “Way Down!”

Back to the homeland area for Inchie, then; into the Hypertension-1 bracket.
You can’t win, can yer?

I took this snap of the morning view.

Then went into Sunday’s Operation, ‘Get Josie’s Meal & Treats sorted mode.

Hope the gal is not on the phone to her Sister again when I deliver it.

Got a large spud in the big saucepan, boiling. I must keep an eye on this cause I don’t want to let it get too soft. Otherwise, when I cube it later to oil and butter them and get them in the oven, they break up, which spoils them.

Got some ingredients out ready for the flavourings.
Then cubed the potatoes and sprayed them in the oven tray with butter and olive oil.

They kept their flesh integrity… is that the right word? Anyway, they didn’t crumble. Hehe!

I checked on them every few minutes as I got the chilli and veg sorted in the saucepan.

It took about 20 minutes, and they looked and tasted good to me. Nice and crisp on the outside.

I got them in the pan of chilli, then turned off the heat, after adding a bit more chillie, the tomatoes, mushrooms and onions. Washed the oven tray and chopping board with the utensils and made a brew of tea for myself. Thompson’s Punjana this time.
Then back to the computer to start updating the Saturday blog.
Burst forth from the door alarm and came in. It was so late I’d forgotten about him not having come yet.

The first thing the lad said was how sorry he was for being late. I told him it couldn’t be helped, and being the weekend, I’d not have any medical appointments to rush to. He got the medications sorted for me, and I asked him to check the date on the milk bottle in the fridge, please. Which he did. I took a photo of it, but still can’t read it when blown up! The combination of; , , Chloramphenicol Eye Drops, and  see to that.
Jozeph was given a choice of drinkies from the fridge while he was in it checking on the use-by dates for me. He took the waste bags with him as he departed.

Kicked off doing some drilling in the flat above. I coped with the noise this time. But when he started the bang-banging and constant tap-tapping a little later on, I returned the favour by hitting the top of the tall bookshelf with Metal-Mickey. Grrr!

I was getting n with the updating of the Saturday post again and was enjoying doing it. I didn’t enjoy the mistakes and omissions I was making, of course!
Has it not been for me actually hearing the rain fall, and getting up to see if it would be photographable, I may have carried on blogging and not noticed the time and would have been late for the first time ever delivering Josie’s nosh. I’d only got 12-minutes, but it only needed dishing out, basically.

It was a close call, but I managed it just in time! Back I went to the flat and got the rest of the mess cleaned up in the kitchen.

Spent the next few hours getting this blog started. The fatigue came over me, and I had to stop. Uh, I’ve not had anything to eat yet! I’ll have something simple; let’s see what I do quickly. Ah, a mock Cottage pie in the fridge that can be microwaved. That’ll do me. I can have a cob with it and dip it in some BBQ sauce. And, I hope, then fall asleep before the evening carer wakes me up.

I poddled into the kitchenette, and I took a photo of the view from the window. The first one I took came out rather vivid, so I checked what setting it was taken in, but couldn’t find it, so I reset it to auto-mode and took the second effort. Which was a lot more like it actually looked.
Then got the meal prepared. The Asda Cottage pie, I can do in the microwave in 9-minutes later on. I got the potato cakes in the oven to cook for twenty minutes, hoping to remember to add the meal to the microwave ten minutes later; I think I got that right?

But, I got involved in doing up a word-rhyme list, and it went on for far too long; two hours later, I remembered the potato scones in the oven!
I abandoned the word listing (I hope I saved it first... Oh, dearie me!).

The poor scones were hard, dry, and well-withered. Yet they were so tasty! I had to eat them carefully to avoid causing any toothache bother. I added some BBQ sauce to the meal and mixed it in. Two wholemeal cobs were dipped and eaten too. Then a pot of the delightfully tasty Soya Lemon yoghourt.
A Flavour-Rating of 7.8/10 was given. Nice!

Washed the pots up, turned the computer off (Forgetting to check that I’d saved the word list – Bet I didn’t) and got down the recliner.

Woke me up. She had not used the door chime. I gently explained my Instantly-needed wee-weeing and possible bleeding attributes with it and being caught with not being aware of a Carer coming into the room unless I could hear the chime. Bless her; she said she thought the chime may disturb me. And she will try to remember in the future. Sweetheart! All very low-key. I certainly was not telling her off; just explaining things. A lovely gal. Who got the medications sorted, and we had a minute or too nattering, which I always appreciate. Treated in thanks, hobbled to the door with her, and she took the waste bags, farewells swapped, and I remembered to lock the door.

The evening view was rather worth trying to photograph, so I tried.
, Cataracted right eye, and , the scone on the viewer looked so different to the ones coming out on the camera. The photographs looked disappointingly smudged in comparison to how my eyes viewed them? Flibblegonknackles!

I got resettled in the £300, bought eight years ago from the second-hand shop, Harold Haemorrhoid-testing, c1966, repugnantly beige-coloured, crumb-containing, virus-breeding, acne-giving, rickety, itch-producing, none-working recliner.
Had a look at the TV listings and was overjoyed to see several episodes of some early Red Dwarf that were currently being shown.
But could I stay awake each time the multitude of commercial breaks came on? No! Not a chance.
I may have seen about ten minutes of Red Dwarf, the averts came on, and usually, I woke up during the next episode. Grrr!
Yet, I love the program so much that I suffered this for several hours. Knowing I should just turn it off to avoid the frustration… but somehow hoped that I’d stay awake…
It must have been gone at midnight before I came to the last episode. Of course, I nodded off again at the first commercial break in it… Most annoyingly! !

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

I dropped off to sleep easier last night. Three hours later, I burst almost nervously wide awake to find myself needing the NWWB (Nocturnal-Wee-Wee-Bucket), with once again, a lot of PMAD (Post-Micturition-After-Dribbling) following the main event. That did it, of course. I tried but could not get back to sleep. So I was up and about before midnight again! Humph!.

Around midnight, I hobbled into the kitchen and was well pleased with the view from the window.
Returned to fetch the Lumix camera to use its night-view option; I was determined to catch the clouds before darkness hid them from view.
going to reach for the camera that was charging, I knocked a bottle of spring water off of the ottoman; Guess what it fell on?
Smack on the poor right foots Onychovryptosis: ingrowing toenail! Of course, I just smiled and laughed it off! Got the Lumix taken to the kitchen and took these three pictures on the left of the first part of Saturday morning.

I was pleased with how they came out, not smug, just satisfied with them, compared to yesterday’s efforts.
Made a brew of J Sainsbury’s Brown Label tea… or is it Red Label? Not sure? I went to the computer, booted it up and got sphygmomanometerisationing! I like to drop the odd long words now and then. It’s a habit of mine called sesquipedalian loquaciousness. Oh, I’m glad I’ve used those words at last on my blog; I’ve been meaning to for months. Hehe!

Ay-up! , , ,    .
: Grrreat! astonishing, wonderful, stunning, spectacular, startling, absolutely stupendous… in fact, I’d even say intimidating. SYS 135, PULSE 82, and Temperature 35.1°f were all in the Green Zone! The DIA was in the Amber at 77!
The best days returns on the Health Checks for… well, I can’t recall having a better one! I probably have had one, but it was way back, if at all!
, several times. Then I added an illusionary medal and upped it to Class One, Grade A!
I thought at first, I can’t wait to see what it is like tomorrow… then things suddenly calmed down, and my moment of sheer joy dwindled down to one of contentment with reservations. You see, my EQ spoke to me… He  just said, “Don’t expect too much, mate!” So, I didn’t”

Went on the WordPress Reader. Hurrah! I worked dedicatedly, diligently and resiliently on updating the Friday blog… Okay, then; I made an error after bloomer got lost a couple of times altogether; One when I went for a wee-wee and couldn’t pick up the thread I was on before… and another when I went to unlock the door for the Carer coming. I was in CorelDraw at the time, and when I got back, I started to decorate the wrong page Thursdays, not Fridays and got all mixed up with what photos were for which day. was on form.
But after an hour or so, it was beginning to make part sense and progress with the correctionalisationing, then…
rang, and Charly came in. My mind was a little muddled (Nothing new there). Charly got the medications done, and absolutely amazing; I realised that I’d not had the two yellow Omeprazole capsules, only one. No idea how I remembered, but was so glad I did. Because has been far less bothering since the Doctor doubled the dosage. Charly hasn’t been since the change to two a day. We had a natter, but I’m blown if I know what about. I think I did a lot of talking that may have been slightly jumbled up. Tsk!
Charly took the waste bags and treats in thanks with her as she left.
I poddled back to the computer and sat, all confused as to what and where I was doing and up to before Charly arrived.

I wasn’t exactly in top form this morning. And decided to leave blogging for a while and decided to get something to eat. Got some chips into the oven and titivated the kitchen a smidgeon while they cooked.
Getting the tray of chips out of the oven… now I know this may be hard to believe… I burnt my knuckle in the oven tray.
Got some Germolene on it, and the ointment bubbled! Hahaha!. Note the clenched fingers? That was because Colin Cramps had just kicked off.
As I was laying the meal tray, I dropped the pot of lemon Soya yoghourt, which proceeded to hit my foot, and the tub burst open…
I think EQ was right to warn me not to get too excited.
Cleaned the mess and me up. And settled to eat this extremely early meal.
The buttered Sourdough cob is what I’d saved in a food bag in the fridge from yesterday. The chips and tomatoes with it were worth a food rating of 8/10.
Slept for a dream-filled three hours. No sense of what they were about.

Got back on the blog updating and gave up trying to get it spot-on. I posted the error-filled Inchcock Today off to WordPress. Set creating this template… and fell asleep in the computer chair!
Woke up in the jump.

I took these photos two pictures on the right, out through the glass in the balcony windows. The car park on the front, and the ens one. Caught the little fog walking its owner out through the mudslide route onto Chestnut Way, the end car park.
I took a portrait-shaped shot of the dead-end of the car parking.
Does it look to you as if the white van is parked on top of the grey roof of the electricity/maintenance shed?

It does to me. Then again, I have the assistance of Glaucoma Gladys, Cataract Katie and Saccades-Sandra in my pareidolia and apophenia figure and funny things searches.

There seem to be a lot of vehicles parked up this morning… oh, it’s afternoon now.

The cars on the left will be electric-powered ones, using the recharging units the Nottingham City Homes have kindly fitted during the upgrading of Winwood Heights.

I wonder if they might get some mechanical Aorta-Valve replacement charging units installed? Hehehe!
Another hour in the land of nod – all very welcome, even in bits and pieces.

When I woke up, the place had gone all dark early in the afternoon. A bit of drizzling outside.

I took these photographs of the Carer’s Table and kitchen window to show how dark it suddenly was.

The bottom one, which I cannot remember taking, let alone why I took it? If I took it?

Just all a part of the mysteries and enigmas of Woodthorpe Court! The ghosts, wraiths, spectres, cacodemons, apparitions and other grotesqueries haunt the hallways and lobbies, searching for me to create ambiguities, abstrucities, perplexities, misfortunes and botherations, to scare, worry and baffle me! And a Lumix camera that seems to take photos of its own accord.
Possibly assisted by and maybe .

I got on with creating this blog. The mistakes, errors and mind blanks persisted in hampering me.
But I did do better this session. That was until I decided a mug of Thompson’s Punjana tea would go down a treat. Off to the kitchen.
The light did not come on!
A good job I had the nosh early. Of course, it’s too late now to ask for help by ringing the maintenance people. No staff on at the weekends.
Oh, lucky me!
And where did the time go? The evening Carer is due shortly already. It’d gone 18:00hrs! Mind you, the Carers tend to come much later at the weekends. I’m always woken up by them. Getting back to sleep… well, mission impossible.
Pressed on with a file of words to use for the Odes, it was recorded as last being saved on Nov 5th, 2017… about time I got it sorted. Hehe!

Arrived, it was Charly. Been a long day for her. Got the meds sorted. She opened the curtains when she heard the fireworks. I couldn’t hear or even see them with the blinds drawn to. After Charly had gone, I spent ages in the kitchen, trying to catch some rockets going off in the night sky.

Unbelievable how I managed to miss them so easily! Only three of the pictures had any on the frame, and they were so small.

I seem to e having problems with the Lumix camera again.
Not that I counted them, but I felt I’d taken about twelve frames.
When it came to loading them into the computer – there were five that said: ‘Unable to read this…’ I even had to try deleting each one several times before the camera did so?
Four were so bad that I didn’t even bother with them. Which left me with several pictures that had not even made it onto the SD card again?
I got them on the computer and turned everything off. Disappointed!

As I was getting closed down, at about 21:30hrs, the noisy sod in the flat above started knocking and banging again. We will have to meet and discuss this.

Was again reluctant to allow me some shut-eye. I put the TV on and watched a programme about Morecome & Wise… a long one too.
Then Morpheus relented, I the usual waking up for no apparent reason, maybe saying a naughty word, but then got off again. Maybe eight times in the five glorious hours in total in the land of nod. Didn’t wake up properly until 06:00hrs… so that was better, but could be better still… Stop moaning, Inchcock!

Life is a dretch, so you may as well turn off the killswitch!

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

I bounded out of the recliner, did some skipping, touching-toes, and a few press-ups, and went onto the balcony for the hip hinges and Tai-Chee exercises. I yodelled as was worked the weights. I gave out a loud “Whoop!” as I made a perfect double-flip-over loop.
I grabbed my Nokia G400, Android 13, 5G, 128GB, 6GB RAM, Glass front (Gorilla Glass 3.45), aluminium framed, Nano-SIM, GPS, GALILEO, microSDXC (dedicated slot), LED flash, HDR, panorama, FM radio, Type-C 2.0, USB. With On-The-Go Features; Sensors Fingerprint (side & rear-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and barometer. Li-Po 5000 mAh, non-removable. Charging Fast charging 20W – Power Delivery 3.0, N1530DL £345.25 mobile phone, and rang King Charles to see how he was going on and asked if he needed anyone else topping… Hahaha!
02:30hrs: Then I woke up, belched and got the taste of the cheesy potatoes I had last night come up my throat, and I took a swig of Tonic Water I’d flavoured with Roses lime juice – the two tastes did not go well together. But they blended together enough for me to get out of the £300, used, second-hand shop bought nine years ago, c1966, discomfiting, alarmingly Karki-beige coloured, crumb containing, TV remote hiding, not working recliner, on a mission to get myself a good string mug of tea, Glengettie perhaps, to rid my mouth and tongue of the terrible taste.
I caught my balance and was feeling in better shape than of late. Of course, that was corporeal.

Mentally I was a wreck; Thoughts wandered into my mind at will, no chance of me sorting out any that may need attention or were important though… The need for the Porcelain Throne arose. Yesterday morning the evacuation was rock solid torpedo style – knowing my cunning innards have the ability to alternate twixt brick-like torpedoes and slimy-sludge on each visit, I anticipated that Trotsky Terence would be in charge this morning. How wrong I was!
I sat there on the Throne and had to force things along painfully. I had the hearing aids in, so heard a rare plop every now and then as another one of the pebble-sized products was pressured-free, and it was like this for ages!
What made it more frustrating was that I’d left the crossword book in the three-wheeled walker trolley from yesterday! The cracks in the wet room ceiling seem to have reduced? I could only see 21 today? I’m sure there were 34 yesterday?
It must have been a good ten minutes or more before the last of the dark brown hazelnut-shaped turds was pressured into evacuating! What a relief I felt! But not for long; as I got up to clean things, I felt poor warm blood running down my inner thighs. I cleaned things up and gently applied some Germoloid ointment onto the pained area at the rear! Real Relief!
Had a stand-up wash.
I had a farce with trying to put in the Chloramphenicol antibiotic eye drops. More went down the cheek, in the nose and mouth than ever got close to the eyes! I got dressed and took a Senna tablet, just the one, to try to ease the concrete rear-end passengers’ trip to freedom on the next visit.

This could prove to be a mistake if Trotsky Terence makes a comeback on my next visit to the Porcelain Throne?
To the kitchen to make a brew of tea. This time it will be a tasty Thompson’s Punjana The kettle was put on.
I took this shot of the car park below from the kitchenette window. It was drizzling with rain at the time, but I’m blown if I can see any in this rather decent picture? To the balcony…
Where I spotted the rain-induced mudslide from the nearby Woodthorpe Grange Park, had made another entrance into the end car park.
I think there is a drain under the water, but obviously, it isn’t coping very well when we get a rainstorm. The people taking the dogs for a walk and crap go via this route, coming and going… I’ve forgotten why I said this now! Dementia Doreen! I can say this now the Doctor’s confirmed my latest ailment. Hehehe!

Sounded, and in came . I had forgotten to unlock the front door again! apart from giving me a sideways glance and tutting as he came in, he was fine about it. Haha!
What a great Carer Ricard is. As we got into the room, he produced a list in an envelope of all my medications and how much and when they are given. Worra, great chap! I thanked him profusely and pulled out the pink gins I got for him yesterday at Lidl’s. That was a marvellous thing to do for me; another worry over the trip to the hospital was now sorted! Merci Mon Ami, Richard!
I fear he was over-yawning again. But this didn’t stop us from having a little natter and laugh after he gave me the medications.
After he’s left, taking the waste bags with him, I found a bag with some bottled water, a rice meal and chilli in it – it was for Richard! Thanks again, Doreen!

Back to the computer. This time, thanks to Jenny, I was expecting it. Yet an hour or so later, it came back on? And seemed a little quicker. But an hour later, it was back to slow coaching. We’ll see if it goes off again… if they are upgrading, it must surely go off again? Or the upgrading has failed… hard to believe from Liberty Global Virgin Media, Hahaha!

So, I got a meal made up. It looked good, and most of it was fine. Those gorgeous Frikadellens tasted superb!
The tomatoes were just grand and sweet flavoured, both yellow and red ones.
The Lidl Parmesan potatoes, let it down. They were so tasteless! But looked and smelt good? Taste: 6/10.

Sat down to wait for the Carer to arrive . And that was it until the Evening arrived, and I got a rude awakening stirring me back to life when the chimed from the power box in front of me, forcing a Shake, Rattle & Roll in surprise, and I all but fell out of the recliner!
The lad Jozeph looked so weary and tired, he’s even caught the yawning bug from Richard – both hard-working Carers. It looked so odd when yawned with his facemask on. Hehehe!
I tried to cheer him up. He got the medications sorted. He even cleaned the Pentax measure-dose pot for me and returned it to the carer’s desk. Had to push him to select a can of pop in thanks. Walked to the door to lock it, and he took the waste bags to the shoot with him.

I thought I’d try the computer again to see if it was reconnected yet, to update this blog. But my body and mind had other ideas for me… I again!
And I stayed there for hours. But it was an often broken sleep, interspersed with weird dreams. Short odd senseless ones and I woke up after each one. At least, it felt like I did, to lay there trying to fathom out what it was all about, then drift off and have another dream that was short and unfathomable to me. Repetition is the word needed here.

PART RECOLLECTIONS OF THE FIRST DREAM

I dreamt I was an auctioneer...
Folks were bidding to buy gunpowder?
But I knew it was only chowder flour?
Some as they ran to their helicopter…
Said, “Aha, we’ll blow up another tower!”
A policeman I.D.’d himself, a CID inspector…
He asked them to reconsider…
Cause there had no M.O.T. for their copter…
This dream couldn’t have been gimpier!

Inchcock: Tuesday 1st November 2022

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Gave up trying to sleep again after the wee-wee. Decided to get the ablutions done, being as I was wide awake yet flipping well again!
Apart from one issue, the ablutions went fantastically well this morning! Only one minuscule cut shaving, and I was rushing things a bit. I wanted to get the Monday blog finished and posted before going to the doctor. I had a feeling, well, EQ told me, that things would go okay with the results of the Severe Frailty Test Results… meaning I take it that someone would take notice and action on the problem? The Easy-Link bus that Deana ordered had been confirmed for 10:00hrs, so I do not have much time to get the blogging in. And with Liberty-Global going down tomorrow, I wanted to catch up as far as possible. But I felt a spot of good fortune was on the way? That in itself is a kind of miracle… as long as it comes.

As I was considering which manner to use to get the socks on, I spotted and photographed my left leg’s ankle. I seem to have gone all pale suddenly? What’s more, the ankle ulcer didn’t look too good a shade of colour? I think there is a furuncle or two coming out as well?

I did the washing and medicalisationing and feeling good, and with foolish bravery, I used , a mistake if ever there was one! I ended up with a cut shin and agony from the right foot delicate, , when I had a trying to rearrange the sock that had attached itself to the toenail!
Of course, I just laughed it of. What’s a spot of agony to a man like what I am, a mere tribulation. Being such a pain-bearing, heroic, brave, handsome young man?

Tidied up in the wet room, put the bloodied paper towels in the bin, took them into the kitchen and deposited it in the big waste bag.
Tried to take a decent photo of the morning view. Failed, of course, probably through
having fun with tearing the toenail and shin cutting, which has led to such a loss of blood. Hehehe!
I made a brew of Thompson’s Signature tea and tried to concentrate on updating the Monday blog.
I made a mess of the next two hours and spent more time correcting things than writing them. I realised later that I’d missed the Health Check graphics and a photo of my bleeding toe. Humph!

Came in, and I shook his hand on welcome. That confused him a bit; haha! I proceeded to tell him how much appreciated him and Deana and would struggle even more without you two. I think he liked that, but there were no signs given, just a feeling I got.
Richard got the medications sorted and checked on the whiteboard he’s bought me the previous day, and I reckon he liked my having used it. He had a read and pointed out that I’d got something down on it twice, bless him. I’d got some bits for him out of the fridge into a bag, and he had to fly; he’s got an extra call to do again today. Bade him farewell and all the bestestest… and got back on the computer, and hastened to get the blog done and posted before I had to go out… it was close, but I got it done. Turned of the computer and started getting the things needed for the surgery visit ASAP. As I was doing the checks, and as the rain began to fall, I spotted this fly/flea on the outside of the kitchen window. I wonder how it flew up all that way? Did he need to rest his wings?
Off I went down in the shuddering lift cage to the main lobby.
I’d made it in plenty of time.
Eighteen minutes before the Easy-Link bus was due to arrive at Winwood Heights prison camp… I mean Winwood Heights Independent Living Complex. Hehehe!
I had a poddle around the foyers, settled at the front next to the main doors, got out the crossword book and had a go at it. I did rather well, actually, I solved about five more clues. Although it may have been three, five sounds like I’m cleverer. Does it not?
I moved into the outer lobby, so I could see if the Easy-Link electric minibus arrives. Which it did spot on time. The driver had a bit of bother finding somewhere to park, but he handled it with a certain aplomb, and I went out to the bus and got in. Well, it seemed the right thing to do. Har-har!

I arrived at the surgery!

The chap didn’t ask for any cash, so he’d been informed of my being on the accounts for monthly charging.
We were soon in Carrington, and he dropped me off in front of the surgery.
I hobbled as the rain started again into the surgery and reported to the receptionist. Who pointed to the chairs and said something I could not hear, “Take a seat”, presumably? So, I did.
Five minutes later, Doctor Vindla summoned me into her room.
She seemed a little more interested in what I was saying and asked about how my Anne Gyna was? A rare happening! Then I realised there was another woman in the room, taking notes? Student? NHS Monitor, regulator? I didn’t know. But it got the Doctor showing interest in my health for once.

Ah, EQ’s message, this makes sense now.
The Doctor told me I didn’t do very well in the Frailty Test. Would I like her to refer me to ———- I didn’t hear what she said, just answered, ‘Yes, please!’
She went on her computer, left the room, and returned telling me that I needed a —?— test before they (?) would accept you, and Nurse Nichole had made time to fit me in, go to her room straight away, and she’ll do it now for you. So I did. Not knowing what test this was.
But it was nice to see her again. It was a blood test she took.
Then I didn’t know if I was to go back to see the Doctor or go home? Cause no one had told me. Nurse Nichole phoned the Doctor and told me to go home. It’s no wonder I get confused. I’ve no idea who I’m being referred to for help, either.
So, out into the rain and I had a hobble down to the Lidl store. Prospectively financially fatal, me, doing this! Hahaha!
I came out a good few quid lighter. With some cans for the Carers and Wardens, fresh tomatoes, Frikadellens, yoghourts and other bits. The trolley was pretty full and out to catch a but back into Sherwood.

Took the first photo on Mansfield Road. Well, all three of them were taken on Mansfield Road.
The first was from lower down the hill, where the Haydn Road bus stop was.

The second down photo was taken near the mass of closed-down shops after I’d gone over the pelican lights to the other side of the road.

They are out of order I think I took this one getting off the bus. Nottingham’s famous deadly free electric scooters.
Four deaths this year so far with these. One rider and three pedestrians. But the Council members must be getting back-handed to keep them on? Just a thought, like!
I called at the cash point to get some readies. Then in the Co-op, I got some cobs, vegan butter, cobs, and imitation smoked bacon.
Then hobbled up the hill to the bus stop to the flats. I had the pleasure of seeing Margaret from Winchester Court, and we had a natter en route on the bus. ♥

Back at the flats, I slipped her a can of Gin & Rhubarb, said my farewells and walked through the Winchester Court flats link passage into Winwood Court.

Met Frank and Esther, and had a few words, then into the Winwood Court Foyer. Where I met Deana, slipped her a can of Gin & Orange.

With the cheesy cobs, I’d got from the Co-op proudly displayed on top of the three-wheeled Walker basket, I proceeded in a Northerly direction along the link passage to Woodthorpe Court.

I was doing so well; it worried me! Hehehe!

I got to the end of the passage and recorded the rain that had started again, pelting it down and windy with it.

It went a little dark too!

I got up in the lift and went to take a photo of the downpouring rain from the window near the waste chute room.

I took a picture that caught the rainstorm beautifully, I thought when I looked at it on the screen.
But another of the Mysteries of Woodthorpe Court, with the hobgoblins, spectres, gnomai, phantasms, ghosts, the grotesque succubae, extraterrestrials, ectoplasms, Fata-Morganas, that have been sent to taunt, irritate and terminate my already limited saneness of mind, occurred.
When I got into the flat, the picture was no longer on the SD card! How, why, does this happen? It must be something I’m doing wrong. A great photo as well. Schluberduberski!

It took these shots of the rain as it was stopping.
Then made a start on updating this blog.

It was hard, slow work. I seem to be making more errors than getting things right lately?

I stopped for a break and took the large potato out of the slow cooker, added some cheese on top of each half, and got it in the oven, to cook the cheese.

Haahahaha!

Back to the blog again. I thought the break might have helped me to regain my concentration… Things got more farcical, not better!

Absolutely!

Then, around 15:00hrs, a sudden darkness came over everywhere within a minute!

I got the Lumix and took photos of it around the flat so you can see how dark it really turned.

It was eerie how quick it fell. Not scary or anything like that, but so unexpected. The changing seasons and clock changes might have had some effect on this little miracle?

That’ll be the changing of the clocks forward an hour. That I forgot all about and rang lovely neighbour Jenny to ask her the right time, last weekend. That was with the aid or insistence of my brain’s interloper, of course! Tsk!

Yet, looking at the picture where a window is, it looked so light outside?

My Cyber buddy, Billum, in Cincinnati, will know. He’s a bit of a boffin and clever with it, you know. A grand chap, a great partner in HRH Lisa-Petal, and a son to be proud of, Alan.

They show me care and understanding, yet they have so much to contend with themselves medically. I just thought it a suitable time to let them know my feelings and thank them for being them. ♥ Below is one of my favourite graphics that I’ve ever done.

Showing Bill and HRH Lisa-Petal in their make-believe time capsule, built in their underground laboratories in Cincinnati! Their senses of humour are so precious to me! Note the Dalek they took? Santar-Ha! Thanks!

Arrived in a good mood, and after giving me the medications by hand into my mouth, we had a natter. Shannon showed me, on her mobile phone, a photo of her baby in the womb. Bootiful! I think she said it is due in May… but I could be wrong. I insisted on her selecting a nibble and can of pop of her choice in thanks. The gal took the waste bags to the chute for me on her way out. ♥
I got something to eat, potatoes with cheese, tomatoes, sourdough bread, and two Frikadellens... which I am now going to eat! Hehehe!

Sorry that the picture didn’t come out very well.
Food Rating: 7.5/10.
Well worth the effort to make it.

I put the utensils in the kitchen bowl to soak and realised I’d not done the yet. So, I did.

WHOOPS – Up to Hyper- 2 again.
Tsk!

I resettled in the £300, bought eight years ago from the second-hand shop, Harold Haemorrhoid testing, repugnantly beige-coloured, crumb containing, virus-breeding, acne-giving, rickety, itch-producing, none-working recliner.

I woke up nearly five hours later, much refreshed at 01:40hrs. The smell from the abandoned meal I left in the kitchen permeated sickeningly throughout the flat. This forced me from the recliner to bag it up several times and into a final waste bag. A twinge of guilt at the state of the surrounding kitchen encouraged me clean things a little. (Not a lot, mind you!)

After my almost ten-minute marathon cleaning-up session, I took these photos of the early-morning view.
While taking them, just once, I saw the planet Jupiter. But the clouds covered it before I got the Lumix out.

I made a brew of Thompson’s Signature tea. Then took it with me back to the computer and got her booted up. Got the photos from yesterday loaded and doctored on CorelDraw to try and make them clearer… at which I failed. (I know it must be hard for you to believe that I failed at anything) Hehehe!
Well, I thought that the Blood Pressure figures would be enough to put me down towards the amber zone.

But, No! The NHS Analyser put me in the Hypertension +1 Red yet again.

Still. come thinking about it: The SIA at 155 was, I thought to be, pretty decent compared to the previous few day’s numbers.

The DIA at 92 let me down with being so high, I suppose.

The Pulse was a little higher and more close to the target.

As for the Body Temperature, that was even closer to the target figure of 35°f than it’s been for weeks. Good, I think. Not sure what this indicates, though.
Got the Thursday blog finished and posted off to WordPress.

Off to the wet room. Trotsky Terence fought back a bit this morning. Constipation Conrad has been mastering things for the last week or so.
The foul odour that accompanied the evacuated product was a cut above normal. The Karki-coloured plum-sized turds disintegrated on contact with the water? The main things were; There was no pain, only a smidge of bleeding, and as mentioned, one Helluva-putrid-pong!

I’d put the kettle on, and I was washing the NWWB (Nocturnal-Wee-Wee Bucket) after taking several PSSU (Persistent, Short, Sharp, Uncomfortable) mode wee-wees. And cause I was in the kitchen, I did not hear the tune that rang, and I got a jump when she came into the kitchen and greeted me. Hahaha!
I asked if Jodie would be kind enough to help me get my socks and fasten the Velcro on the shoes, as I am out this morning at the Riverside Diabetic clinic in Bulwell. She consented. She was yawning away like a good un! Bless her! Jodie did the medications, and we chatted… well, I did; it helped keep her awake as she was on her last legs, methinks.
Medications sorted, she kindly got the socks on my feet for me.

Then it dawned on me she could not do the Velcro, as I was still in my jammie bottoms! So, I nipped to the wet room and got new PPs on, then changed into my trews and back to the recliner, where Jodie fastened the Velcro on the shoes.
I joked about my being more trouble than the ten-year-old. But in the back of my mind, there was embarrassment lurking! Thanked her in the usual fashion, and she was off, back to her bed and, hopefully, some much-needed sleep.

The new DVT Anticoagulant Therapy Record was found by accident. It had fallen underneath the Carers table.

Got some updating done on the computer on this blog, then the getting together all the things needed for today’s trip.
The took a grip as I was readied to go. So many checks and rechecks were carried out, keeping an eye on the time. I did not want to miss the EasyLink minibus again.
This photo on the left, I took earlier and forgot to put it on the blog. It is of the Carer’s table.
I was so glad to avoid a painfully vicious and bruised bloody battle with .
All thanks to helping me with the socks, as well as the Velcro manipulating.

I’ll have to tell you now; to get the embarrassing bit out of the way. I’d made a memory list last night of the things needed for the Riverside visit. Got the things prepared and in pockets or the trolley (I thought).

❶ The driver would not take a tenner and give me £2 change; the money had to be spot-on. So he took all my change again, all the eight-pound coins I had to pay for the lift. This did get to me! All that hassled and Esther getting change for me, and it’s gone in one go! (Fed-Up Grade A style!)

❷ When I got to Bulwell, I found that there was no session today. So, it seems that had to got me again! I was wee’d of with myself, but not as much as usual. (Fed-Up Grade B style!) I decided to just go into Bulwell for a hobble around, feed the duck=ks and birds and inevitably, do some shopping. So, I did!

❸ I lightened up a little when I saw the Mallards were nearby. Got the bird food from the trolley and launched some feed towards the ducks… then went to get the camera from my pocket… which was not in the pocket! Searched the other pockets and in the trolley… No! I’d left it in the flat! Self-hatred and disgust flowed!

❹ Now I could be in bigger trouble. The reminder for the cash card number was in the camera! I wanted to get some treats for the nurses and carers and have a shop in Wilko. The last time when I used my card in Bulwell, the bank would not accept the pinless transactions, and if this happens again, I’m in a pickle cause I can’t remember the number. Fingers crossed!

I fed the birds. I’d have loved to try photographing them, they were all around my feet, and I would have had a good chance of taking some great shots; had I not forgotten to take the Lumix with me! Grrr!
No doubt about it, is giving me bother today!

Visited the Wilko store. I did get some stuff today for a change. Two bottles of the Y-Lang fabric freshener, a roll of sellotape (Needed to stick up reminder notes and medication changes). A bottle of Y-Lang-scented laundry wash.
Having never used this Wilko store before, I just went to the first set of check-outs and lined the queue. I didn’t realise it was a Card-Only and Self-Service setup! I did feel like a demented fool waiting for someone to serve me! Then I realised that I am demented!
A kind lady assistant came to me cause I imagine I may have looked like a lost old soul, and explained things to me. Things got worse, me-in-muddle-wise!
She helped me put them through, and she went back to her post. When I was putting the things in the bag, I realised I had not paid for the sellotape! She must have been watching me and come to my rescue again! I had to swipe the tape through and pay with the card, which I didn’t think it would allow, not for… I can’t remember the exact price, but it was around 50p, I think. Tsk!
Out I went and visited the Vegan store to see if they had any of the imitation belly pork slices I got last week, and I liked the taste. They had two kinds today. Last week I bought four, for just over £2. I asked for two of each this time… expecting a similar charge… £8.20!!! I realised after I’d left that this took all of my remaining money to pay for it. Good job I paid for both ways on the EasyLink bus, or I would have had t walk the four-miles home!
I dropped into the Pound Land shop on the way back to the collection point for the bus. Saw they had some Walnuts and almonds in small packets, so got some of them, also a small bag of seeds to feed the birds en route to the Riverside Complex. I really wish I had paid more attention to the price stickers when I selected these nuts. For when I got to the checkout, the girl said, “That’ll be eight pounds ninety-six, please!” WHAT? I dared not use the card, and the people behind in the queue were getting agitated with waiting! The girl called someone to keep an eye on me, fearing I may do a runner? And pointed to a cash machine where I could get some money. Could I remember my card pin, though?
I went to the machine; I’d never seen such a small one like it before. I asked the lady when she’d finished using it, apologising first for bothering her, which way the card goes in. She stayed with me, bless her, and went through it with me. When it came to putting in the number… believe it or not, a four-digit number came into my mind from somewhere in the ether. A flash prayer, and I put it in, and it worked! The mini-machine only allowed £40 to be withdrawn. I thanked the lady customer so much for helping me and whatever entity it was that gave me the number needed! Can I remember it now? Nope!
I hobbled half the length of the store to join the check-out queue again, so I could pay for the overpriced nuts!

Arrived at the checkout, paid up belatedly and out to feed the ducks again. While chatting with the mallards and pigeons fighting for their share of the seeds, I thought I would be able to have a go at the crossword puzzle book while waiting for the list in the Riverside… I hadn’t taken a pen with me! I had a search around all my pockets and the trolley, nope, no pen!
I hobbled back to Bulwell Market and bought a pack of pens. Returned to the car park entrance at Riverside, got sat down, and enjoyed a long session on the crosswording. (Not that I was not very successful, mind you!)
The minibus arrived spot on time. We took a convoluted route (Roadworks) back to the flats, but at least it didn’t cost any extra this time.
Back at the flats, I asked the driver if he could ask his office to ring Deana about arranging payment by a debit system for me, telling him of the difficulties in getting the right money every time I use the . I didn’t hear his answer. Gave him a choice of drinkies from the trolley bag, in thanks, and struggled up with three bags hanging onto the three-wheeled walker trolley, to the flat.

Hunger being a new desire, I got whatever they were supposed to be vegan slices in the oven. Then wondered if I’d locked the door instead of leaving it open for the carer coming. I went to check…
And found a letter marked ‘Private’ and ‘Urgent’. I’ll open it after having the meal. Which has to be given tags, and this they are: &!
The chops looked like real meat, and smelt it cooking?
I got some BBQ beans heating up.

I got the meal served up on the tray, added a large bap and pot of the short-dated orange yoghourt that Carer Richard found in the fridge and went through the routine; it took a while.
It tasted alright, indeed nice. However, as I was tucking into it, something hard crunched against the already damaged and broken back double molar, and it joined the beans in my mouth! With horrible crude black segments inside of the tooth. It left jagged bits still in the upper gum, sharp and nasty tasting when the tongue ran over it. Next time I go to Bulwell, I shall inform the sellers! The orange yoghourt tasted a little sour to me, but it was on its last sell-by day. So, I’ll throw the other ones away.

I spat out the chomped-chop and checked on the contents before continuing to eat; there was something hard that broke the tooth. But not as I assumed, a bone, more like a chunk of plastic, I thought? When I find it… if I find it, I’ll take it with me to the store. When I was examining it, looking at it with the spy-glass, the at just the wrongs time, it shot out of hand. I think I heard it ping as hit something or other and disappeared into the ether? Carer Richard is good at finding things; if I don’t come across it, I’ll ask Richard to have s look for it for me on Monday. I’ll likely find it by treading on it with my bare feet as I walk around.

The chops were tasty enough, just potentially lethal. Hehehe! Very carefully, I ate the nearly cold remainder with the beans. Not counting the bloodied mouth, loss of the tooth, and pain it caused, I still gave this meal a flavour rating of 7.2/10! On taste only. Not the taste of the rotting tooth, you understand? Hehehe! That was terrible!

I got the pots washed, and the tooth saved. Had a quick search for the plastic that was in the food (If it was plastic), and then bravely opened the ‘Private letter’. No luck, of course. The letter was from the QMC (Queens Medical Centre) regarding my Cataract operation… with a confirmation of an appointment to have it done! The date is on Wednesday, 9th November 2022, at 09:30hrs!
On my first reading of the letter, I fear that between my , , Arithmophobia, , , , , with the help of Glaucoma Gladys, brought on stabbing pains from , thus, severe mode, was automatical engaged. – Not a lot is more disturbing than going into a Panic-Mode. You can’t do anything about it, can’t get to grips with sorting it out, and fear and frustration flourish! With Duodenal Donald and Anne Gyna both giving you discomfort, it was a waste of time trying to make sense of the eight pages of instructions that lay in front of me. But of course, I tried. I had to, but knew I should have left it until later when help was available!
These things never fail to arrive at the weekend. When there are no ILCs on site. I have to stew, fret and panic until Monday. Then sometimes, I can’t get in touch with Deana. Fair enough, she is up to the neck and so busy looking after us all.

I loved it when I could do things for myself without bothering them at all. But Vascular Dementia Doreen’s arrival has put an end to that.
I wonder if it’s worth it, carrying on. It’ll only get worse. This thought then sank me down, and I loathe getting into a .

rang out. came in. He looked so tired; bless him. It must have been about 19:20hrs; it must have been his last call. He gave me the medications and listened to my sad pathetic tales of the day. That was good of him. The poor carers are the only people I can tell. I insisted he take his choice of plonk in thanks for his tired time. Reluctantly he took one. Such a nice lad is Jozeph. He took the waste bags with him on his way out.

and my depression combined to ensure that sleep was not an option for many hours, gone 02:00hrs. I got three hours in, though. Before bursting jumpingly awake at 05:00hrs, with a desperate need of the Porcelain Throne… but, did I make it in time? Dang, dang dang, danggg!
