We’ll start with the Ode, Cause I’m tired and old, Sorry, there’s no centrefold… Oh, dearie me, I just scowled. Just stubbed my toe; I let a naughty word go… Read about another murderer being paroled!

Today felt like the longest day – ever!
0525hrs: I sprang awake with the usual verbal Huh! In mental confusion and a mind-muddle. That’s also a regular awakening scenario. However, I was soon out of the c1968 recliner. And after a regulation wee-wee; The brain seemed to come partially together, and I remembered both the Amazon order was coming today and the delightful Carol to do the washing in place of Esther. The Amazon order should be the gigantic bottle of Ben’s hickory smoked barbecue sauce on its way to me. I adore the flavour of this one. It may not as strong as some other sauces are, but it’s smoked to perfection! And along with the wonderful Stubbs Hickory Liquid Smoke, will be used in the chilli I make. This passes Josies and my taste buds test to a tee! I also use it on the veggie burgers. Oh, I do live well… That might be a slight exaggeration. Hehe!
I checked the state of the plates first, not the dinner plates, my plates of meat, feet. They looked good, but they were painful underfoot. Having said that, They’ve been a lot worse, so I’m not going to grumble! For some weird reason, I remembered the mould on the bottom of the shower area. I got the Mr Muscle Spray and used it all, covering the affected area. Then thought I’d leave it for the recommended 15 minutes and, naturally, I forgot all about it. Ahem! !
I made up the waste bags, then I cleaned the cooker top… I did think about cleaning the oven… but, well, you know how it is… Hehehe!
Arrived and inquired as he came through the door what that smell was. At this point, I remembered the mould spray I’d lathered the wet room and floor with. Richard went in, looked around and turned to me with that famous half-smile and a he is, look on his face! He pointed out that I’d used shower gel, not a mould cleaner. He helpfully told me to nip down to Sherwood and buy some. Hehe!
It was so late in the night that by the time I made a start on this blog, my eyes were making it so hard for me to see properly. The notes on the ‘remember-pad’ have wriggling letters and words, so I’ll have to either guess or ignore what I cannot decipher. Sorry!
I’d not heard from HRH or Billum for a while. I was a little worried, so sent an email asking how things were – with hopes that they were okay. I love them both; they have such great personalities and are caring people.
Little did I know of what lay in store for me today. Ups and downers and more frustrations through things I did wrongly cost me dearly in time. I was up all day and night, trying to make things right again. Humph!
Carol, the ex-carer, who is standing in for Esther, came in, but of course, I could not hear her. Good job that I wasn’t using the bucket or medicating any bleeding areas at the time. I mentioned that it would be best if she pressed the doorbell before coming in. I spoke very matter-of-factly so as not to hurt her feelings. She apologised, and I said there is no need for that; you were not to know. She’s a lovely lady. She took the laundry for washing and said she will return. Bless her.
Now all the scribbling I’d done for over 14 hours was getting harder to read. I think I see “To the waste chute with Richard… Stubbed Toe and then mixed in. Back at the flat – Carol returned with the washing. But there is a lot of writing that means nothing to me now. Grungleturds! Carol and I had a natter, and she left the bag in the junk room for me. I still haven’t got around to taking the clothes out as hung up yet! It’d been the sort of day.
I do remember a … Oh, yes! As Carol was leaving, I, yes me! Realised I’d not paid her yet! Which I did, post haste… well, as soon as I found where I’d left my money, that took the edge off of my smugness, Hahaha! Another line of nothingness on the pad.
As I sat down to check on the Amazon delivery tracker, Anne Gyna kicked off, and she made a good job of it. So much so that like yesterday, I took gulps of Pentax, and having taken an extra Beta-Blocker, I dare not take any more, so took a Codeine 30g, but she’s been at me ever since. Even now, so many hours later, Anne is letting me know she’s still there, and it’s nearly midnight now! Being worried about Billum and HRH isn’t helping, I suppose. Worra day!
I then sorted it out. Better late than never. The figures looked okay to me, and the body temperature was almost spot-on. Surely the NHS result configurator will show this time a lower overall figure? I put in the numbers on their site, And sure enough, I was nearly in the amber zone. Yee-Ha! I had an email come in while I was making this graph copy. It was from the wonderboys at Iceland – telling me the order is on its way, but with a few changes – confusing ones at that!
At least I got some No-Bull mushroom steaks and Vegan Ice cream. Not that I needed the ice cream at all; after finding out how much I’d already got in the freezer when I put the goods away later when they arrived. Well, would it be impossible to put them away before they arrive? Hahaha! It’s also so sad that the best burgers, the No-Moo brand, have stopped being stocked by Iceland – The Gits! I can’t find any of the other shops that are stocking them! Humph! The Iceland order arrived. The chap went through and put the food bags into the kitchen for me.
I thanked him and offered a cold drink for both men. Vodka and lime and a G & T were selected. I had an extra problem on my hands now. Reading the short life dates on the chips, potatoes, burgers and what was the other thing? I forget now; it seems like days since the delivery to me, with no sleep for so long. Grumps! I got the things in the fridge as quickly as I could. I needed a bit of jiggling about to make everything fit in there. I spotted the vegan cheese that I bought earlier. Must get that used up. You see here on the left what I mean about my being overstocked on the vegan ice cream? That is because they (Iceland) have stopped selling the No-Moo burgers, and I suspect that the ice cream might be the next to be abandoned. I have little confidence in Iceland’s system.
Got on the computer, at last, to start finalising yesterday’s blog. I can see another early morning to bed job for me again. But soon got disturbed. But on this occasion, I welcomed it, for it was Carol returning the laundry. This is when I got smug at remembering I’d not paid her, then looking somewhat of a , when it took me five minutes to find my cash so I could pay Carol. Tsk!
I found that two letters had been posted; one was the DVT Warfarin Anticoagulation figures and doses. The other was from the CT4N transport.
.
Some of the writing on the leaflet from CT4N I could read. The graph with the prices for each trip out and in, or in and out, was clearly seeable. So, I assume I can use my oldies bus pass to get the cheaper rate, I think. So, it will cost me £9 for each of the 24 sessions of the Diabetes Training or whatever it’s called. I must see Deana tomorrow to see if she’s arranged a lift for each session for me. Cause I reckon it says I’ve got to ring them for each trip? The eight A4 double-sided pages on rules and actions needed to use them (DT4N) are just too small to read. I think I can feel Cataract Cathleen laughing inside my head. Hahaha!
He’s now playing away at drilling, and knock-knocking, with the occasion clattering sound effects. Not getting on well with the blogging at all here. However, I did finally get the Monday post done and sent off, 14 hours later than usual, to WP. Email links were sent out, and then the “Oh, Susana” tune chimed away.
It was the Amazon delivery. Well, a part of it anyway. The extra-large super-duper Ben’s hickory smoked barbecue sauce, my taste buds were tingling at the thought of it! It is mouth-wateringly tasty! I think I must have got something wrong again when I ordered the writing pads. I’,m sure I used the steel ruler to measure that t the page size would be the same as the ones I’m using now… but no! You see the pack of eight pads next to the BBQ sauce bottle – eight pads! The bottle of Ben’s is thicker than the pads are wide! I think my Arithmophobia let me down again somewhere along the line in ordering these. Ah, well, I’m not really surprised. I’m just so annoyed with myself again! Then the biggest time-coster of the day… … Last week, I made up some of the tabs, like the Whoopsiedangleplop one above, in this colour, ready to use here. I can even remember when I did them. Straight after, the metal-tasting reflux came up, followed by a scary Dizzy Dennis bout. Within minutes things improved, but although I was close to getting my head down, I stayed up all night CorelDrawing and creating the tabs. (Truth is, I was weary of sleeping in case the reflux came up again). I am a cowardy-custard!) So today should have saved me time, not cost me it! I went to use the first one and realised I made them all the wrong size. I thought at first, slightly annoyed again, I’ll just have to edit each one with a new size; time-consuming, yes, but a damned site better than having to spend literally hours making a new set… I thought. ❶ I didn’t realise that the editor only allows you one edit per photo per graphic, and I could not alter them. ❷ But before I could start to create a new set, I had to clear the blog gallery of all the old ones, so they wouldn’t clash with the new ones! So, I did! ❸ Then, take all the old ones off of the hard-drive file to lighten the load on that, so I did! ❹ Double checking that the file and gallery were free of all the old ones, and at just the wrong moment shook me silly; I’ve no idea what I might have pressed as the cursor shot across the screen… but Corel Draw closed itself down! I genuinely think I might have cried! ❺ As if she was mocking me, kicked off!
❻ I stopped, and a Dracula Depression fought its way through the pain to get at me. And a sad Inchy just sat in the chair here, saying nothing, but the Thought-Storms were raging. I felt so sorry for myself, then I felt ashamed, and it was me sinking to a new low… ❼ Silly, but I believed a mug of tea would somehow help and went to the kitchen to put the kettle on… ❽ I didn’t make it, for fortuitously I got a en route… which made me even angrier, I’m not one for getting angry, but this time I think I was; everything blurred for a short while as if I was walking through fire and smoke… I’m not joking! The pain I was in must have triggered some defence mechanism I’ve not had before. For I suddenly resolved myself not to be beaten – and returned to the computer, and admittedly with a certain amount of incertitude, restarted CorelDraw. ❾ Of course, then I had lost the last saved version of the file! So, I saved this saved version to the old name, and things looked good. Hope was in the air! ❿ Then, all I had to do was pray that neurotransmitters and SSS didn’t bother me again and spent well over two more hours getting the new set of tabs completed! I’d not had a shave or wash; I was in agony and so tired… yet this new spirit of resistance won the day, and I could get on with this blog once again. A SUPER . But was soon disturbed, in the nicest way…
By Cheeky Charley, the cheerful tonight carer. Because last night, I had dropped a tablet, tonight she hand-fed them to me, one at a time. She washed my stomach, where some blood had dropped earlier in the day when bile came up, and Charley made sure I was feeling okay before she left, all chirpy and gay! I think tonight she was going on the Girlie-Night-Out, and if so, I bet she was the star of the show, wherever they went. Hahaha! ♥
Back to the blogging grindstone, but a happier lad… well, I say lad… I was so worn out mentally, but Anne Gyna eased off at last, and then I had a break and checked on the emails. To Billum and HRH Lisa, they had replied to my email, letting me know they were okay and recovering from a nightmare hospital visit for Lisa. The nightmare was the hotel they were staying in. So much noise they could not get any sleep. Youngsters with their music and noise. Which is so sad. Between the three of us, who all suffer from sleep deprivation, and all three of us get it at the same time! I’m just thankful their absence was not caused by illness or accident; they both have more than enough to cope with as it is. This news kept me going. I checked the email again.
Billum let me know a bit more of his Whoopsiedangleplops. HRH and he went through. A sad Tale of Woe. We three share that trait. Hehehe!
I rejoined this cruel, scary, obnoxious world again at 06:10hrs. Most reluctantly, I have to admit. As I slowly worked out that I’d managed to get four hours kip in… the Thoughts Storms began to rage! Within minutes, the traditional wee-wee was wanted.
As I was freeing my elephantine body from the sweet clutches of the recliner, the acid, metal taste came up from the innards and nose? Accompanied by some nasty Dennis dizzy-bouts. I’ve been having sessions like this occasionally over the last few days. Mostly not long after waking up. More mysteries of Woodthorpe Court’s sinister Spirit’s master plan. To raise the devil, spread wonders, blunders, rodomontades, fears and descenders from the comfort of sanity into a gibbering wreck! As soon as I get help to ring the surgery, I’ll ask for a face-to-face with the doctor. Cause these do worry me a smidgeon. This one, like all those before, had cleared within ten minutes or so?
The head and throat cleared, I made for the NWWB (Nocturnal-Wee-Wee-Bucket), Passed a few dribbles of wee, then had to wait for ages again, with a lot of PMAD (Post-Micturition-After Dribbling) Been regular this late dribbling for a few days now. What’s going on here? Tsk!
I went to start the sphygmomanometerisationing, and I realised how painful the feet were to hobble on. I took this photo of them, They didn’t look too bad to me. Another puzzle! Haha! The Blood Pressure figures were a bit higher this morning. But no complaints; they have been great for about a week; some days, they’ve been spot on target. I put the numbers in the DVT sites calculator to see what would come up this time.
Whoo-Whoo! Betterer than yesterday; and only just edging into the red area. Pleased that something was going right. I got the waste bags made up and off to the front door, unlocking it as I did. Hobbled back to the kitchenette to get the kettle on, and ♫ Oh, Susan ♫ chimed out.
ARRIVED: I greeted the lad with as much enthusiasm as could; he seemed a little perkier today, I’m glad to say. He got the dosages sorted out and given, then checked on the stock in the medical drawer in the kitchen. Richard reminded me about the Diabetes session on Friday; bless him. No messing about today; he was off in a flash. Gave him his bottle and can from the fridge and the nibbles (Brussels pate with caramelised onion) in a bag as he departed. I hope he can get some sleep in today. He should be back tomorrow.
My supercilious, egotistic, standoffish friend from the flat above kicked of with his do-it-yourself concert. Drilling, humming, banging and clanging.
The beautiful. kind, empathetic haematology nurse arrived. By gum, she does my heart some good, just to see her 💙. As she came in, Herbert, who must have heard the loud door-chime, ceased his noise. The gal soon got my blood taken and gave me a few minutes chinwags as she cleared her things back into the bag. I mentioned the low DIA in the Blood Pressure yesterday. In hopes that she might mention it to someone who cares enough to contact me about it.Tsk! What am I saying? Fool!
A minute after Hristina had left, Herbert was off a gain. All drilling this time, but not for long, bless him.
I got the two blogs, the Sunday Diary and Local News Snippets, finished and posted off to WP. It’s getting on for midday, and I’d not even started on this one yet! So, I went on CorelDraw to do the page top, header and Ode block… That was the plan, anyway!
and CorelDraw did worse than yesterday! Shit! It won’t let me use the keyboard for any actions. Which, of course, makes the job so much more efficient and saves time. actions. I was sinking into a Dracula Depression and felt sorry for myself… But I pulled myself together and spent four hours trying to find a way of sorting out the problem… of course. I had no idea what it was I was doing wrong in the first place.
The evening carer could be coming shortly, and I’ve not got much done at all. Without CorelDraw, I can’t get the job done. Grrr! I’d done this earlier, twice, but tried a third time! I closed everything down slowly, turned off the computer, and decided to leave it for half an hour, at least, then try again… hopes were not good. If I have to try to reinstall the ‘programme’… well, I can’t anyway, no passwords now, it’s been years since… of shut-up Inchcock!
Go and make a brew… that tells you how busy I’ve been, for 9 hours of getting nothing done, and this will be only my second mug of tea of the day!
Boy, did I give myself a superior toe-stubbing? Yes. I did! Agony! The right foot has come up all red and bloated… fed-up is far too calm a word to use. I can hardly walk at the moment. Humph!
It must have been an hour after going to make a brew, which I didn’t do! I got Germolene on the foot; with the aid of the picker-upper stick. Then took an extra Codeine 30g. Thought I’d have a guzzle of Peptac.
Back to the computer… nervously and prepared for heart attack, stroke or Ann Gyna seeing me off, as I find that CorelDraw is not going to have it. I started the computer up, and it was with a sinking heart. I turned it on and pressed the CorelDraw button…
It told me that another saved file has been found, ‘Do you want to open it?’ So, after a few seconds of musing, I decided I’d better, cause this just might cure the problem… y hopes foolishy increased, and I did! Yesterday’s blog came up??? Now I was mega-confused! I did a search for today’s blog because it wasn’t in the file I usually keep it in. Baffling, innit?
As I was searching, I realised that it wasn’t yesterday’s blog… well, it was… I’m losing it here… but I keep a page for each day of the week, and for some reason or other, CorelDraw always opens on different days showing. So, I went back to the ‘Found File and opened it again. Yep, it was the right file. At this point, there was much swearing, self-hatred and belittling, and Anne Gyna kicked off worse than she had done for years! It was so bad and painful that I took an extra (Bete-Blocker) too.
Just got the results from the DVT Warfarin blood test this morning. A little high this time, but nowt to fret about. , They have lowered the does over the week, Which brought back memories of Hristina, the patient, caring Angel-Nurse, which cheered me up a good bit. ♥ Bless her cotton socks! I ordered some of my total favourites, Ben’s BBQ sauce and cashew nuts, from Amazon. And added some Jacobs Mini Cheddars (Leicester Chees flavour) to the Iceland order.
Took a photo from the kitchen window of the puffer clouds. Oh, how I love to just watch them. I can’t help it. I even did a spot of paranoliaring. Yes, I’ve fallen foul of the phenomenon of pareidolia. Found a few as well!
Great Balls of Fire! Look at the time!, the carer will be here… Hello… Cheeky Charlie has arrived. She came into the room to tell me that she had turned of the tap that I left running in the kitchen! She didn’t like the look of me tonight and inquired if I was alright. After listening to my tale of Woe with the innards trying to come up with the metallic taste in the throat and mouth, Charlie told me to ask the Monday Carer to phone the doctor to make an appointment, reminding me that I didn’t look too good. Hehe! Bless her!
I got on with updating this blog. I might get it done before November. I’m not making any promises, though, Hahaha! Got some chips and a veggie burger in the oven and went back to blogging. I must be feeling better, to want something to eat, don’t you thinketh?
Hopefully, the late sunsetting might come out as the chips are being out of the oven. I’ll have to finish this in the morning. The eyes are tired now.
Nosh-Time: A day out-of-date fresh cut chips (fries). Some new potatoes with basil. (I saved some for Richard in the morning in the fridge), hope that he likes them; they are rather good. A veggie-burger. (Sadly, I can longer get any No-Bull ones [Iceland stopped stocking them], but these are okay, just not as good tasting – Sob!)
I got on with creating another masterpiece of an ode…
06:50hrs. What a sleep that was at last. Ready for this… Six-Hours! Grrreat! The ankle ulcer had come up overnight and was tingling & stinging a bit. The right foot and leg were more swollen and colourful as well. So, I took this snapshot. I just can’t understand why the Tate Gallery has not noticed the state of my legs and bought my photos. After six uninterrupted hours of gorgeous sleep, I was not surprised that the wee-wees started flowing and regularly. Each session was followed by after-micturitional leaking. Bit of a nuisance having to wait so long and make sure any extra squirts or leaks had all finished. Still, that’s a fact of life nowadays.
I went into sphygmomanometerisationing mode and got the Health Checks done.
The BP had gone up a smidgeon, but nothing too risky. God results still. Barely into the red zone, yet again. I don’t know why it has been so good this past month, but I adopted a well-deserved one. How long can this go on? It seems to have settled so well. Fingers crossed that it continues. I started to do the layout for this template and got a whiff of my B,O., so I decided that as soon the morning Carer has been, I’ll get the ablutioning done. Seconds later, ♫ Oh. Susana ♫ sounded from the door chime.
Came in and got my medications sorted out. Val’s weekly treat of Strawberries had arrived, and I issued them in thanks to Valerie, and off she went – forgetting for the first time ever to take the waste bags with her. I was rushing her a bit so I could get the ablutioning done, though, so, not her fault.
I went into the wet room to clean up my massively overweight bobby body and assorted knick-knacks. But found that the job of cleaning up the wet room floor I did yesterday, I think it was, was of inferior quality. The floor had bits on it, black, that stuck like glue to the surface. Where they came from puzzled me. (As a lot of things tend to do nowadays, Hehe!) I just about crippled myself getting down and up again so often, after each time, and found I’d missed some. to blame, mayhaps? By the time I got around to doing any ablutioning, I was well worn out and had some new aches. Hehe! As I started with the teeth cleaning, I had to double check that the scrubbing brush, bleach, mop, and bucket had not been left in my own way in the shower area. So glad I checked, for the bleach was under the shower, and going in there without any glasses on, I might have avoided an ! At long last, a weary and battered Inchy got on with the job in hand. Teggies have already been done, and I got on with the shaving. And only had two tiny nicks in the process. However, I did manage to break one of the new razors, and not a cheap Bic; Oh no! One of the four-bladed ones! How is it a mystery? I don’t think I could break one if I tried to. The showering went well, apart from clouting my shoulder against the towel rail and starting Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley off. The lower regions, front and rear, were then medicated. The ear holes were olive-oiled. The eye drops were dropped in; well, most of them ended up on the cheek and then ran down into the moustache, turning it into a temporary brown from grey. Little Inchies fungal lesion is the most painful ailment to treat (As usual). Deodorised, dressed, and off to make a brew of Glengettie tea. Noticed the beautiful puffer clouds in view in the sky again. I do love so to see these up there. I tried a bit of pareidoliaing and found two figures in this photograph on the left.
I got some potatoes out, sorted them and got the good ones in the saucepan on a low heat setting. Then realised I had the fresh chips in the fridge with a short use-by-date that needed consuming. Then the dithering started. Shall I have the potatoes and end up wasting the ready-made chips? I sort of left any decision in the air. I’m good at that, being indecisive, you know? I went to check on the other dates in the fridge but could only manage to decipher a couple of them. Carer Richard was in such a rush yesterday that he forgot to investigate for me. And of course, I forgot to ask him to. Hey-Ho! The lad was worn-out and tired, bless him. I hope he can get a good rest during his break. and does not get called in. He’s due a bit of good luck, and I hope Sweet Morpheus can supply it for the lad.
Later, I felt the stinging from the ankle ulcer and looked at the ankle and legs again. See what’s what with it. It (the ankle ulcer) now looked so much calmer. And yet it was stinging more than before when it was all swollen and glowing? Beats me. Then again, most things do nowadays. Back onto CorelDraw to make another Ode that had come into my distorted mind.
Here it is; sorry!
Waffling Ode Number 19⅑th
Cloud Photo of the Year!
Absolutely bootiful!
The Morrison order for Tuesday; that I started yesterday and gave up on when it needed verification and Code numbers from an outside source to log on was annoying. Well, believe it or not, I got a code to use this morning, by text, from the bank??? I used the number and finished the order that was still on site. Two things worry me…❶ I clicked buy now, and another email, confirmation from Morrison’s, told me I had ordered it for next Sunday, not Tuesday. ❷ Have I been hacked, scammed, fiddled, or not? Worried now!
Pressed on with this Ode, I knew I’d get around to it eventually, but not as late as this. Gone eleven o’clock!
03:00hrs: Decided to get something to eat; the blog will have to wait.
Ah, the mushroom pate is not as good as the Sainsbury one, but very lovely. Fresh ready-prepared oven chips, last of bullet-hard beetroot, and tomatoes. Wholemeal cobs, BBQ dip, and for afters: An orange jelly, with squirty low-fat imitation, pretend cream sprayed all over it. Flavour rating; 6.9/10, the chips (fries) let it down.
Got the pot’s washed, and I settled to watch an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. Fell asleep, and the landline burst forth, waking me crudely! I bungled my way out of the c1968 recliner to get to the phone before it stopped; “Hello?” – “Mr Chambers, Gerald?” “Yes, is that Hristina?” And it was my beautiful, beloved Haematology Nurse. I think she said she would be coming to take the blood sample on Monday. She had a clear voice on the phone and seemed impressed that I recognised her voice. A picture of her came into my mind… that’s why I’m not sure if it was Monday or Tuesday she would be calling. I tend to get excited when she calls me.
I resettled in the c1963 recliner, and I started to watch the TV, but I drifted off into a much-needed sleep… Not for long! ♫ Oh, Susana ♫… Joseph, the evening carer, woke me up. His shaky-right leg was going like the clappers tonight when he sat down. Got the medications sorted and gave him his choice of the thank-you treats. (Woo-Woo, I think?) Saw him off and locked the front door.
Got down in the recliner once again, determined to get some sleep… But No! As I was drifting off, I felt the dreaded wet warm sensation in the PPs (Protection Pants). I was certain that I’d had a leak. So, up yet again, and to the wet room to wash and get new PPs on. , It was worse, So cleaning up and medicationalisationing was needed.
I noticed the glow from the late sun setting and just had to take a photo of it. A misty, unclear, but mood-prompting shot, so I thought. The body was tired, the mind ready to be switched off, I got down in the second-hand, £300, c1968, overwhelmingly-sickeningly beige coloured, tatty, uncomfortable, rusty, wobbly-recliner for the umpteenth time.
Up now this Friday, I must have dropped off to sleep, on the insistence of my body & brain, so many times. And every time, someone or thing woke me up. I think this must have confused my already unreliable brain. Cause when I got down in the recliner this time, in search of Sweet Morpheus, it refused to let me drift off! It was hours (and oh, so many wee-wees before I finally got off!
Starting with this Humorous Ode ———————————– Nemo Mortalium Omnibus Horis Sapit
Last night I slept early, getting up around 12:40hrs, and got on with the day’s work. I’m nothing if dedicated. After yesterday’s three false alarms, I was unsure of having a successful mission. However, the evacuation flowed in contact with the plastic throne… and kept coming; at one stage, I thought my body might float into the air. Hehe! I’d passed that much. And comfortably, pain-free without any bleeding! A total reversal, I suspect that the different veggie burgers I had for dinner may have played a part in this scenario.
This photo I took of the plates and pins and forgot to put on yesterday’s blog. It could happen to anyone, Ahem! Don’t they look good? This and the excellent BP lately are worrying; I’m not used to this.
I had a wash and sorted out the waste bins. Got a cold drink from the fridge, finished yesterday’s blog, and posted it off to WordPress.
I made up the dry-humoured Ode to use and spent hours trying to sort out whatever I’d done wrong on Corel Draw, which lost me so many options. At one time, I gave up, turned it off, and got out the sphygmomanometer. Yet another great set of figures this morning. And I was only just inside the red zone. Amazes me how the BP has been so good this last month. I tried CorelDraw again, and I lost the saved template. More time lost, searching without much hope… But, I found, retitled it to the original name, and all was well again. I thought…
I’ve got a Morrison via Amazon order coming later shortly now. But will Carer Richard come late enough so he can have his Mushroom Pete treat? Will the delivery come in time? – Will they have any in stock? – Will they send crap substitutes? Can I freeze a fresh mushroom pate for Richard to have the following Monday? Did I remember to order some? What day is it?…
The wee-wees have eased off. The rear-end found new life. My legs, ankle ulcer and feet are looking virtually perfect. No Harold Haemorrhoid or Fungal Lesion bleeding. No stubbed toe, walking into anything, & no battle with Sock-Glide-Glenda (I didn’t put any socks on).
Arrived when and we were both a little down, I think. What bit of chinwagging we got was not the most cheerful. And Richard broke his own record for the fastest visit today. He was soon off in haste, but still the pleasant chap he is.
I turned off the computer to ensure that when the Morrison Amazon delivery arrived, I could be in the kitchen with the door open and hear when the weak, timid, pathetic chime from the intercom was heard. When the intercom chimed out, I was taking the opportunity to titivate the mess on the draining board. A beautiful young lady came to the door and handed me each bag I put in the hallway. She already had my address, Hehe!Took my date of birth. I thanked her and set about taking each bag through to the kitchenette. Poor old thing! I know I’m getting old, senile and past it. It shook me that I needed a few minutes to rest after taking the bags through the hallway. The frozen item was the Meatless Farm Burgers, as well; there’s not much free room in the freezer. Got what might be the last of pod peas, they are near the end of the season now, and it shows. The fridge, on the other hand (not that I actually had a fridge on the other hand), had a lot of fodder that had to be jungled and jiggled to make room to get the stuff in there. These included some Strawberries, one for the Wardens, and Carer Valerie’s weekly treat. Bananas, and my favourite veg seasoning, Oxo. These cubes have a fantastic flavour with them. I got some rice in, as it has already shot up in price, and a lady on the TV last night said to expect a lot more increases. I put the warden’s weekly flower treat in the hallway; it’s cooler in there and rang to say they could be collected anytime. And if the DVT nurse comes early, I’ll bring them down to the office for them.
I must remember to ask Deana if the lift for the Diabetes session is sorted cause with Nathanial staying late to go over my missed meeting course, I will not know when I will be leaving. So will have to get a tram to Nottingham, a bus to Sherwood, and another bus up to the flats on that Friday. Fingers crossed that the ailments give me a break, which they are doing now… but they’ll be back! Haha!
Minutes after typing the above, the wet warm glow started in the lower regions. Why did I have to open my mouth? At least today, I can patch things up with the invaluable help of the shower before medicating. I always dread this happening when I’m out and about. Pure luck that it doesn’t happen too often… come to think of it, I’m not out usually anyway.
I’ll turn everything off computer-wise now and get the ablutionalisationing done and medicating certain areas in need. Back in a while…
“Lambasting-to-Self: Oh, No, you great fool, the DVT nurse and Deana are coming, aren’t they, dumbo!… I wish you’d get it together… Idiot! You know you can’t hear the telephone, intercom or even the door chime when you’re in the shower… Pillock!” Dementia Doreen dashes your plans! Did you see that? The vaguest iota of contentment or thought that things might about to be going well, and what happens?
11:10hrs: Checked the tracker on Amazon; 3 stops away; I’d nearly forgotten about this delivery coming as well! Tsk! All that hassle getting the shower repaired, and now I still can’t get a shower! Or much sleep, either.
Took these photographicalisations of magnificent puffer clouds on display. A tremendous deep shade of blue?
11:39hrs: Checked the tracker on Amazon; Still 3 stops away.
Got some chips in the oven, chip sarnies for a snack? Cooked it, took a photo of it (and it didn’t get on the SD card?), ate it (the chip sarnies), and fell asleep.
Zzz! Amazon Red Leicester delivery arrived. I put them away. Zzz! Esther called to see how things were, off on holiday. Wished her all the bestest. Zzz! Wardens Dean and Julie arrived. To do the yearly fact updates, we did them, and I mentioned the lift to the Diabetes at Bulwell. The leading man, Nathanial, is staying behind on this session to help me catch up with the one I missed, thanks to Meridian Care lot not letting me know they had failed to arrange a lift for me after saying to me; “We’re sorting it, no need to worry!” Deana phoned the transport people and arranged for a ride for the Friday 12th, 2nd session. I had to join something, and Deana sorted it all for me on the phone. Lovely, ♥! Deana also gave a note with the relevant numbers on it… But can I find it? NO! But I did remember to provide them with their weekly treats, flowers, and strawberries. Searched for hours for the note… maybe she didn’t give me one, or… I’m getting muddled again. I emailed her the list of the meetings and mentioned the mystery note… I am a fool! Zzz! . Arrived, I was well deep into sleep again, a rude awakening. Haha! Got the medications sorted out for me. Treated to a choice of plonk/nibbles. Off he went, not taking the waste bags to the chute. Cause I didn’t remind him. However, I had all the waste made from the other deliveries to sort, so I got on with them and took them all to the waste chute.
Cathleen’s Cartilage was playing up after I twisted the knee getting into the chute room. Pain level, only 4/10. Easily bearable.
Onto the computer and sent the list of sessions to Warden Deana. Updated this blog up to here. Then started the template for Fridays.
I nipped into the wet room to check that the shower was not leaking again, and… Gave myself a good toe stubbing against the dreaded, fearsome Sock-Glide-Glenda. Catching the ankle ulcer at the same time. When I took this photo, later on, the end of the toes of the affected foot was white, and the rest of the foot was glowing red; the leg above was ghostly white?
Just another of the mysteries of Woodthorpe Court, with the hobgoblins, spectres, gnomai, phantasms, ghosts, grotesque succubae, extraterrestrials, ectoplasms, spirits, or the Fata Morganas that have been sent to taunt, irritate and terminate my already limited saneness of mind. I just laughed it off, of course.
I got this blog finished. I’ll post it in the morning.
It’s been a busy day. But getting help from Deana, and Ethel checking on how I was going, meant so much to me. Bless ’em! ♥
Inchcock would like to start this blog with one of his more heartwarming efforts, Ode-wise. Sentimental, uplifting, exhilarating style of Odeing. It’s part of his self-declared “I’m fed up with hearing myself moan” policy. Thank you!

Wednesday 3rd August 2020
I spent five hours head down in the recliner last night. If I got about three hours of sleep, I was lucky. One of the worst “Shoot awake & nod-off again” nights ever. At 07:45hrs, A real shaking of a wakeup, with the need for a wee-wee, forced me to scramble free of the c1966 recliner and over to the overnight bucket. I failed to get Little Inchie out in time! Gragnangles! Off to the wet room. I was in a bit of a state, so decided to get another stand-up wash and a change of PP’s naturally. I gave the shower a go, just to see if might work, but there was no noise from the drain-forcer, and the red light came on, so I quickly turned it off at the power again. A got a stand-up washing of the affected areas. New pants on, and back out to the kitchenette to get the kettle on.
Carried out. With another set of fantastic results to savour.
SYS a phenomenal 126!
DIA at 69
Pulse 82
Body temperature 33°f
Couldn’t ask for a better set of figures. Why, I’m down to near normal and in the green, to boot! 07:45hrs: Richard arrived, and he seemed in a slightly perkier mood today at first. But when he sat down, the yawning began again. After interrogating him, Hehehe! I discovered he’s had a bad night again.
He showed me the monitor the Diabetes clinic had fitted on his arm. He scans it twice a day, and the results go straight through to the hospital. True monitoring and a very natty system. Glad he’s got it, so a professional eye can keep tabs on his sugar level.
Not much time for nattering this morning, although he didn’t rush me at all. His body language and my EQ told me he wanted to get away early, and that’s fair enough for me. Hobbled him to the door, where he picked up the waste bags. Made sure that he’d got the bag of treats and wished him some sleep as we parted.
I spent hours on getting this blog template started, but it was hard work; the eyes are not so good, and it was a medley of mistakes, errors, correcting, and then finding the corrections were wrong as well! Time flew by, and I had so many breaks for wee-wees that I thought they would never stop! They didn’t, but did slow down a little after 14:00hrs!
My toffee-nosed, self-important, nyaff, noisy neighbour above kicked off with venom. And continued on and off, firth next five hours. Still, it’s nice to know he’s still alive.
The rumbling innards suddenly got more volatile, with involuntary emissions of wind from the hind quarters. And off on a hobble to the Porcelain Throne. One of the oddest visits in a long time. I got sat down on the Throne, and much wind escaped, but nothing else. I waited patiently, having a go at the crossword; for some reason, I could read the clues with less difficulty than usual. There’ll be a reason for that. If you find it, can you let me know, please?
Anyway, I gave up. got the pants and trews back on and was opening the wet room door, and winds started coming again, accompanied by the rumbling and grumbling innards. Back onto the Throne… for a repeat performance. seems likely that Constipation Konrad is in charge of the bowels, then? Another surrender, with that feeling that something has to, or will erupt at any time now. Most uncomfortable!
As I got into the hallway, with perfect timing, I was only two feet away from the panel: and the intercom rang forth! Yes, YES, it was the plumber arriving to investigate the shower!!!
He was a nice, patient chap. Listened s I explained at I was doing when the alarm went off, and he investigated for me. Five minutes later, he’s got the shower working again. And took the time to tell what had gone wrong with it. A filter had been blocked, and he’s changed it, well cleaned it up, good as new. Explained to me that if a lot of people use the showers at the same time, especially in the higher flats, sometimes the pressure changes. If this happens again, turn it off, and try again in a few minutes. I thanked him and insisted he take a cold drink from the fridge in thanks. Grrreat!
Put some potato cubes in the oven and made an order for Morrisons via Amazon for tomorrow morning. Then got the potatoes in the oven. I’m just having the spuds with some of Jenny’s donated tomatoes, I think. After eating this, maybe I can get some catching-up sleep. But, will I be able to?
MEMORY BLANKS: Found this photo in the morning. Not the foggiest memory of making it or eating it… But when I saw this, a taste of the veggie burgers came into my mouth.
I think I liked it. Haha!.
Memory regained: When woke me up when she arrived. Obviously, I must have fallen asleep. I was so drowsy after she stirred me that maybe I’d just got off to sleep? It took me awhile to get things together? I remember getting her a cold drink from the fridge and Valerie leaving, then it was head down again… That was it until 00:20hrs when I woke in need of a wee-wee…
06:15hrs: I woke; I wouldn’t have bothered if I’d known what was coming to me… I was partly forced out of the recliner, but the need for the Throne to be used. It went tremendously well, as it happens, but as I stood up to get the ablutions done, I realised there was water near the shower drain. I checked the power-point, and it was off. The showerhead was dripping water too? Flummoxed, I turned on the power, I turned on the shower, a little water dripped, an alarm sounded, and a red light flashed, so I turned everything off. I’ll have to ring Deans at 09:00hrs and Meridian about the transport that didn’t come for the diabetes course on Friday.
Got the health checks done. SYS 142, DIA 56, Pulse 76, and the body temperature was 34°f. The wee-wees were far too frequent for my liking, but there you are; Ageing and ailments, you know! Put the figures into the NHS DVT check site and was pleased to see me barely in the red zone.
Richard arrived. With the kerfuffle of the shower Whoopsies, I’d forgotten to unlock the door. Tsk! The lad listened to my problems and filled in the booklet the Diabetes sent me with my details. He read something of the small printed advice note to me, but my hearing was not good, and he spoke a little quickly. Understandable, as he had another call to do, he did his best to set my mind at ease… but nothing less than getting the diabetes mess and shower repaired would ease my mind. On his way out, a lovely lad, Richard, took the waste bag to the chute.
I started this blog template, and soon it was gone 09:00hrs, and I could call Deana and Meridian for help. I rang Deana; first, the call was diverted. Then called Meridian, who was also redirected to their head office. I didn’t want them involved, so I rang off.
Made a brew of Thompson’s Punjana and tried to ring Natalie again. I did feel a fool – I’d intended to ring Natalie and was chattering away and realised I’d rang Deana! to blame. She resisted laughing and kindly said she would ‘pop in’ later to take a look at the shower. Has a lot to answer for, of course; in my younger days, she was referred to as ‘Going-Potty’, ‘Losing-it’, or Blind Bonkers. Hehehe!
The wee-wees were getting more often, and Little Inches Lesion is getting sore at all the handling he’s having – Please don’t start Bleeding, mate!” I think it could be worse, though. How? At least there is only a tiny bit of, very little .
Another bonus is that the fluid retention in the right leg and foot seems to be lessening this morning. Hobbling about is a lot easier than it was yesterday. Got a bit of colour in the plates as well? Good, or not? Hello, he’s off again. Thuds, clangs, boings, and the usual tap-tapping concerto from the noise maestro above.
I went into the wet room to see if the floods had decreased. They had, but not by much. The water does not appear clearly in the photographs I took on the left. I must remember to ask the expert in photography if my little Canon camera has any settings I can try when picturing a wet view to see the water more. I must remember. I took this one earlier when I tried putting the power on, then when the alarms and lights lit, I hastily shut it off. Better safe than sorry. The amount of water on the floor seemed the same as earlier. I’m not sure the drain works without the power on. Then again, there is so much in life that I’m not sure about nowadays. Mainly due to the stroke and .
Getting on a bit now; midday coming up. If Deana doesn’t arrive soon to phone for help with the shower, I may have to go without it until tomorrow. The shower is brilliant for cleaning the three daily areas that need doing before medicating. The Little Inches Fungal Lesion, and Harold’s Haemorrhoids.
I made another brew, Glengettie, this time. I espied these two dogs having a sniff around in the bottom field. Their tails did a lot of wagging, Hehe! I was well-pleased with this photo. I zoomed in from the 12th-floor kitchenette window.
Snapped this one of the horizons, seeing as far away as the M1 motorway, just out of view furthest away. Basford, Bulwell, City Hospital, Nottingham Prison, the Romanian slave building, and Sherwood. Within this view, there have been nine murders so far this year. There are flats available here if you’re interested, and over 60? Maybe not, though! The sky was almost cloudless but still beautiful. The clouds increased minutes later. I tried again to contact Meridian Care (Care? Hehe!) Natalie. I got through and told her that the lift for the Dementia Meeting didn’t arrive. Reply: “Yes, I’ve been swamped and couldn’t get through to them!” I inquired why I had not been informed. She did apologise, at least. But it’s putting me through a lot of anguish, not knowing! When I explained about my not getting help with phoning and reading, deafness, Dementia, and Cataract’s are making life complicated and busy for me. Natalie asked why the Carers were not helping during the extra hour on Fridays. I knew nothing about this. Again a lack of communication. I thought the charges had gone up steeply. Now I know why. If I want any phoning or reading done, I’m to leave it until Friday each week, with no one available on Saturdays and Sundays. And, the Carers can call at any time from 06:0hrs to 08:40hrs. So how can they phone anyone for me?
Good heavens, it’s bad enough being hard of hearing, having Cataracts, knackering my vision, panic attacks, and Doreen Dementia causing confusion and memory losses.
“How dare they say; “Don’t worry, we’re sorting it”. Naturally, I was so pleased and grateful to hear this. I did stop worrying! – then, not only do they not sort anything but put me in deeper poo with the Diabetic Session transport failure – And not advise me of their let-down? Now, I have got to beg Deana to help me out with the mess and the shower, and it’s gone 13:00hrs, and she has not got to me yet. So, I assume it will be too late to bring attention to the shower today and will have to wait another day at least… Or at best, get a late call which means my already deprived sleep will suffer even more by trying to stay awake; late! It’s not doing my health any good. I am not a happy chappy.
Deana departed, and she is a busy gal. Minutes later, I went to the Porcelain Throne and realised I had not mentioned the flood and shower not working to Deana! So I phoned her and told her. She said she’d call maintenance straight away. So if they do come today, it’s going to be late, and in case they do, I have to stay awake to hear the hardly audible intercom ring when they arrive. If they come tonight, or not, perhaps? I am not a happy chappy. Most likely, it will be in the morrow when they respond. What time is anyone’s guess? I shall remain showerless and stinky, then, I suppose. I am not a happy chappy.
Awaiting the arrival of Meridian’s Natalie, still. If she comes, as she told Deana, she would be doing. Will she be too busy, I think?
Well, I’m going to get some fodder sorted out. Not feeling too bright now, although after Deana’s attention, better than I did earlier. Just maybe some ♫ Food Glorious Food ♫ might help. Nothing fancy, tomatoes and veggie burger should do me. Back in a while… well… Three wholemeal baps, chips, tomatoes with some ketchup dip, and a lemon mousse dessert. I put the burgers in the oven, expecting them to be cooked by the time I’d spread the cobs, sliced the tomatoes, and got the plate ready on the tray. Then realised I’d turned the oven on, put the chips (fries) in, but forgot all about the vegan burgers! Idiot, fool, twit, dumbo!
So, ate most of it, scoring 7.2/10 for flavour. Put the food tray down and drifted off into a deep sleep. Until being woken up by ♫ Oh, Susana ♫ from the door chime two hours later. It was Sasha or Sarah… maybe Samantha, but call her Sam. Yes… Sam, I think. Soon got me sorted, slipped her a choice of treats, and did not go with her to lock the door. Why? Well, Deana had not let me know if the maintenance was coming today or tomorrow, or even at all, to mend the shower. So, I have to stay up in case they do call later on tonight. Christ, he’s banging away upstairs again, at 22:25hrs, now! As inconsiderate scumballs go, he’s got to be one of the most effective! The Turd!
In other words: Bad Luck Spreading
NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT: They do now!
Droopy, eye-lidded, tired, and struggling to see, I pressed on with this blog and got it posted off to WordPress. Fighting heroically to stay awake just in case anyone arrives to sort the shower tonight. They didn’t.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – THOUGHTS ON THE LAST CRAP FOUR DAYS…
Could any Monday have gone any klutzier? Mind you, Fri, Sat & Sunday were no cushier, To get through these days of such mental torture… I needed a stout heart, resilience and some tincture! Let downs, failures, and cock-ups have been friskier!
I just want life to go easier and cushier, The ears and eyes are worse… as is Doreen Dementia, I don’t expect to get any healthier or fitter… But why am I in a state of constant dysphoria? I expect as I age to feel more poorlier… Why have I contracted Arithmaphobia and phagomania?
I fear I may have also got habromania… My brain and memory have both caught ecdemomania! A Covid outbreak in the flat’s got folks in a fluster, Anymore Whoopsiedangleplops, and I’ll go dafter, I hope my insanity is only a temporary squatter. On the bright side… there must summat for sure… Ah, yes! I’m bald, so, no need to pay for a coiffeur? – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – TTFNski!
Up all night again. And around 02:30hrs checked the emails and found one from the diabetes tutor. Mega-cock-up. But not all my fault. Meridian was arranging a lift for me to the Bulwell Training Centre for my first session. On Tuesday, I met Natalie in the foyer and asked her if she knew any details yet; she told me, “We’re sorting it!” (Obviously, it has not been sorted for some reason!) She knows about Dementia-Doreen. I said I was worried about missing the lessons. I heard nothing back from them again, and now find the meeting was for yesterday! The email sent had all the dates for all the sessions. I feared this might happen! And am now in a right self-bashing and angry mood! Weekend again, so no one to talk to or ask for help with the problem… It’s most !
Nothing ever works out right nowadays! Why do people who offer to help never get back to me to update things and put my mind at rest? No lift arrived that Meridian was supposed to be arranging. Has the meeting been cancelled? Not according to the email. I’m proper cheesed off! With myself, Dementia-Doreen and Meridian Care, so exasperated, infuriating, and doing my health no good, all this not knowing. Does nobody care? Stupid question, sorry.
Stewing-up inside now. I’m going to have a shit, shave and shower. Pissed-off, befuddled, and self-pitying, totally!
Well, I stewed a bit more while getting the ablutions done but slowly accepted that I’d been let down again by Meridian or whoever is to blame for not getting back to me about the lift. Realised that there was nothing I could do until Monday. Pressed on with scrubbing up, got five cuts shaving, and… on the sock-glide. I was turning to leave with clothes to go to the laundry bag and dropped some, bent down to grab the trews, and I head-butted the wet room door! What really did it for me; it made me larf it did… then… Had to use the Throne, which caused two sets of bleeding: I found myself laughing out loud for a moment. Cleaned things up and medicated the required areas; made a brew and got on the computer to start the Local News Blog, getting so tired; but more settled emotionally.
I got the and BP done. All results were fine!
Sarah, I think. I told her of the failure to get lifted to the Diabetes session. I was a smidge emotional, I guess. Blogging for a while, but so tired and confused. Decided to get a quick meal/snack and get some sleep. Some podded peas, pot noodles, bread and a banana. I nearly fell asleep several times eating it. Put the tray on the Carers table, and I settled with my sunglasses on in search of Sweet Morpheus. Despite feeling so knackered, each time I drifted off for a short period, I was waking up so often t]with the Thought Storms raging – usually about the Diabetes transport let down, and not being kept informed… well, it was about that, every time I woke, and there were far too many wakings, followed by emotional turmoil and self-pitying. Eventually, I did get sleep for a couple of hours. Miserable is the best word to describe it.
The final bursting into wakefulness, and I needed the . So, that put an end to hopes of any more sleep.
At least the Throne session went well. No bleeding, mess or pain! I had a Peripheral Pete right leg dance as I left the wet room. But no tumbling, walking into anything, or injuries, at all. This was due to my depression over my being let down and uninformed about the Diabetes lift and all the ensuing hassle it gave me. The sky and clouds from the kitchen window looked gorgeous. I got the Canon camera and tried to take some decent shots of the eerie, threatening cloud formations, with the dying sun still trying to get through to the tellurians below. I wonder what it wanted to say? As if trying to talk to us all? How I love nature. I noticed I’d dropped crumbs and peas over the carpeting and had walked them over into the hallway when going to and from the Porcelain Throne. I don’t think Doreen Dementia was too keen on my plans. So, I got the big Hoover out from the junk room and commenced having a careful Metal-Mickey walking-stick aided clean-up. I don’t use this machine often, but I’d forgotten how to free the cord to extend the reach. Also, how to unlock the container to empty it.
I was in the middle of trying to sort this conundrum out, and “Oh, Susan” chimed out, followed by coming into the room. She sorted out the cable and bin mechanisms for me, bless her. Issued the medications and listened as I told her of the let-down and confusion, also the letters I’d had come today from the Diabetes place; Val said, “Well. just ring them up…” It shows that my problems need help from someone who might understand them. My heating on the mobile and phone is not good, and mistakes I have made mishearing, multitudinous! Cataract Cathleen’s input ensured that I could not read the small print on the letter and leaflet. Doreen Dementia forces me into confusion and memory blanks… I’ll shut up now; I’m sick of hearing myself moan! Tsk! I almost forced Valerie to take a thank you in the form of the cold orange juice from the fridge. A well-meaning gal, no doubt about that. ♥ She took the waste bag to the chute for me on her way out.
Taking this snapshot on the left, I had a check-up on the pins and plates. Besides the right foot’s fluid retention worsening, it was to see how improved they were this evening. If they get any better, I may apply for a job as a foot modeller. Hehehe!
I pressed on with this blog as far as here. Then worked on updating the Local News Snippets blog. Got it done and posted by midnight. Sleep was the next mission. But it wasn’t coming quickly. Wee-weeing needs were not helping. But eventually, I got off into a deep sleep!
I got a decent night’s sleep for one, so good, I got 6 undisturbed hours once I got off. I woke and broke musical wind at 07:00hrs. Had a wee-wee, the first of oh, so many today. Each session with aplenty.
I took stock of and prepped some of the ingredients for Josie’s Sunday lunch. Got the waste bags made up, and the ♫ Oh, Susan ♫ tune chimed out. It was slightly belated… mot that’s wrong, it’s the weekend, isn’t it? Anyway, came in. Got the tablets sorted, and he didn’t have much time for a chinwag, but we managed a few words before he went. I asked him to take the waste bags with him. Thanked him and wished him all the best. Got the veg in the saucepan of chilli and got sphygmomanometerisationing. Darned good results again, as you can see on the left here. My body temperature was good as well; I let myself go . I filled the numbers into the DVT site and was in the amber! Yesss! The air escaped from the rear-end again, and it was off to the Porcelain Throne in a sort of a hurried, wiggled walking style. Well, that was one of the bloodiest sessions I’ve ever had, apart from the vein-burst when I had the bladder cancer lasered.
Harold’s Hemorrhoids and Little Inchies Fungal Lesion both flowed red. Got things cleaned up and sorted, and putting the Germoloid tube back on the shelf, I had a shirt-sharp blast from Shuddering-Shoulder-Shirley. Enough for me to drop the receptacle mentioned above. I bent down to retrieve it and hit my nose on the side of the sink. And that bled… not badly mind, soon had it stopped.
The noisy neighbour kicked off and had a long session today. He seemed to keep dropping stuff regularly; I hope he’s not caught covid or other ailments. Such a nice man as well. As lovely as any other regular, sour, superior-natured, uncommunicative, unfriendly, antisocial, aloof git would be.
A rare spotting of rain was falling, so I got the Canon camera and took these snaps on the left here. The bottom one was through the kitchen window, close up, to try and catch the spots. Not the best I’ve ever taken.
I just started to serve up Josies’s nosh, and the landline burst forth. My adoptee nephew Jillie ♥ The line was not good, but we had a natter. I mentioned the Meridian let-down with the Diabetes lift and missing the first session. Moaning again. I’m such a helpless wimp! I had to hurray a bit afterwards; to ensure I kept to the ten-minute window to serve the fodder in time. I made it, and Josie seemed pleased with the look of the meals delivered on the tray. I forgot to take a photo of it as well! Harrumph & Toadstools! I was getting a bit uptight with Dementia Doreen! Bashed on with updating this blog for a few hours. Most of my precious time was spent correcting mistakes, making more, and adjusting things again. “Oh, Susan”, rang out once more. It was Frank, bringing some homegrown tomatoes for me from Jenny ♥ I shall enjoy these with my nosh! I got some rostis and burgers in the oven. Sliced some tomatoes, gherkins and beetroot onto the plate. Then, I went on the WP Reader to a renewed mechanic concert from above. Now, to prepare the nosh. Some of the Jenny-donated tomatoes halved a gherkin slice, mushrooms, mini potatoes, rostis, veg burgers, and beetroot. A blob of BBQ sauce, some Milk Roll bread slices. A pot of lemon mousse too. This went down pleasingly, and a Flavour-Rating of 9/10 was granted. As I was eating the feast, I noticed the right leg was much fatter than the left one was. So, I took a snap of it.
Put the TV on; the big match was on in an hour or so. And promptly fell asleep. Woken by the door chime as the Sonia arrived. The TV was going on, and the match was in progress, with no score. I’m afraid my limited attention was taken by the football… don’t recall much of what went on or was said with Carer Sonia, who took the waste bag with her as she departed. Got down to settle and watch the football. I also noticed that the bottom of the food tray had left its impression on the legs. Hehehe! The match, and, as you must know, the score by now… but I loved it so much I put it on here:
I rang Sister Jane to gossip about the magnificent victory for England. (Let’s face it, they are few and far between!) Got the belated ablutioning done. Everything went well with the teggies, shaving, showering, medicationalisationing, the drying off. No fall, cuts, toe-stubbing, bruisings, or dizziness. A ‘Super Strength’ Class A
Putting the towel back on, the slow dryer a kicked off. Usually, if this happens in the hallway, as this one did, it’s the safest place possible, having both walls within reach to use to steady any falls. But on this occasion, being entangled in the loops of the air dryer; as we both went down onto the floor didn’t help. Still, no injuries were incurred.
Took a snap of the beautiful sun-setting. Despite my worries and Doreen Dementia’s and Meridian Care concerns, this one held my attention for longer than usual.
I got onto the computer and updated this blog. Got some tabs made up in CorelDraw and loaded them into WordPress. Of colours to use in tomorrow’s blog. Finalised this and posted it off. Then tried to get some sleep – it seems an easy quest, doesn’t it?
I’ll see…
Why did they bother sentencing him to death? Hang on, I thought San Quenton had closed down? I got this information from Bittanica as well. Maybe it’s another prison?
I stirred back into ersatz life. Not springing awake, the event was all rather laid back. Until I realised, I had no idea what the time of day it was. Indeed, what day had just dawned. It was still dark; I had no idea where I’d left the wristwatch and could not find the wind-up torch to look at the clock on the fireplace top. But, no worries, really. I was just slightly annoyed at myself and Dementia Doreen.
As I laid back, with the intention of nodding back off into dreamland, I was assured that there was no cause or reason to get up early, a wee-wee suddenly all but started of its own accord!
This also annoyed me somewhat, having to get up from the place of sleep. But I soon realised it had to be done quickly, and rather smartly for me I thought, was pulling down the PPs and utilising the nocturnal bucket within a minute! Which I knew at the time should not have been. I heard my EQ laughing! Now decision time; Do I go and get my hands washed, thus destroying any chance of getting some extra sleep in? Or, to snuggle down in the £300, second-hand bought, c1968, nauseously beige-coloured, not-working, rusty, rickety, crumb-holding recliner?
I opted to get my head down again. But… as I put the stick back in the slot at the side of the chair, I advanced a little too far with my right foot! And, by way of a change, I gave myself a foot stubbing instead of the usual toe!
I ended up sideways on, half-in, half out of the recliner. With something sticking under my bum? Banging my elbow on the way down. Guess what? I’d found the camera, torch and wristwatch all stuck down the side. twixt the cushion and the arm. Hahaha! Well, I thought it was funny, even at the time. I used the camera to take this shot of the foot, but it didn’t come out well – I think mother said that about me. Hehe! Smiling to myself, I started to disentangle my ungraceful, ungainly, ponderous body to a more sleepable position, got sim-settled, and thought I’d see if I could make out the time, using the torch… As I deemed it to be a quarter past five, I remembered the Ocado order was due from 06:00>07:00hrs! Globblegrumps!
I was soon back up on my painful foot, well, on them both. And started to make room in the fridge for the incoming food to be safely stored. I dropped the two packets of dried beans, and one of them burst open! Another mess to sort out! It’s been an odd morning so far! It got odder! I searched for a screw-lid container the right size for the rescued peas that hadn’t hit the floor to be stored in. And in light, saw that the time was only 04:15hrs? I reckon that Cataract Cathy had fooled into thinking it was five-fifteen when it would mayhaps have been something else?
Ah, of to the Throne. I felt sure that all the peas I had nibbled, along with the Dioctyl, would be enough to get things moving, as I thought they would. But No! Colin Constipation kept a firm grip on the product, and he was not letting anything get through. Painful, but no bleeding.
I surrendered and got on with Health Checks. The Boot’s Sphygmomanometer, manufactured by, ZDEAC (Zhongshan Daguan Electrical Appliance Company Ltd) in Guangdong, China, proferred these results.
The SYS was up again to 152, the DIA 69, and the Pulse down to 79 from yesterday’s high. The body temperature was fine, at 33.8°f.
I popped the resulting figures into the NHS Patient Monitor page. They out me a little higher into the red zone on their graph. I made up the graphic of me and added it to the jpeg for a bit of humour to share.
Liberty-Global, who owns Virgin Media. Went down for the third time today. This one was for a long time. When it came back on, an hour or two later, it was so slow! I got the graph of Virgin Media downtime in the UK. People writing in were not happy at all. Two areas had no service for a day! Most of them, like me, suffer outages every day. Mind you, BT were nearly as bad. Big Boys Bullying with ridiculous adverts about the ‘stretched’ claims of reliability and being the fastest service available.
What about people on these networks working from home on their computers? Do they get any compensation? BT offer a fantastic bargain… well, they did last year in their TV adverts. £30 a month back if we fail to give you (whatever the speed promised was). Mr Fries, the Liberty-Global Mogul, knows nothing about supplying an internet service, yet he’s bought into other internet companies throughout mainland Europe? Still, he gets his £23 a year salary plus bonuses and expenses. By his looks, you’d think he was a Godfather in the Mafia, wouldn’t you? I imagine he would be the perfect candidate for the Presidency race? He must have the ambidextrousness, chicanery and flimflam skills needed to flourish as the US president? Ah, no, I realise now, that would mean him taking a massive pay cut!
The Ocado delivery came just within the hour window. A decent chap; I think he came last time I used Ocado. He carried all the bags into the kitchenette for me as well. That was decent of him!. I made sure he took a can in thanks. I got the bottled water delivered this time, all of it. I’d anticipated many not being available; well, there was none available from Iceland or Sainsbury’s last week. I got the lot, as you can see here on the right, that’ll keep me going for a while. Hahaha! As I’d just finished stacking the bottles and packs, down the stack tumbled, landing on my recently damaged foot! Tsk!
But, I didn’t mind, what’s a bit more pain; I merely laughed it off!. No cursing at all… Ahem! The fridge was soon filled up again. A most comforting site, I must say. Still, come think of it, it s not as fill as it usually is, and the Carer treats will reduce the contents. Bless ’em, I do insist, you know. Har-har! Ah, I do feel a fool, more to go in in another bag. Bananas, garden peas, some part-baked baguettes, black tomatoes, lemon fools and the delicious but oh, so pricey Marks & Spencers Potato Rosti Cakes, I don’t want to think of what I paid for them, if you don’t mind. The M&S cakes were on offer, and still the most I have ever paid for eight little cakes. What am I doing? I’ll be broke if I go on like this. Body and financially at this rate, and I think I’ve got a Sainsbury order in for a few a day’s time. Oh, dearie me! I had to take out Richard’s Monday treats to make room for getting the other stuff in the fridge! I enjoy giving a bit in thanks to a good carer. I popped them in a carrier bag. Richard’s due any time now, so they should keep okay.
I got on the computer, to find that it was down again. Grobblewanks! I’m getting to dislike hocus-pocus Fries all the more. He’s taunting and haunting me! Arrived and had a chinwag after he’d sorted the medications and checked the medication drawer for stocks, bless him. He had to go a bit sooner than usual; he’s been given an extra call to so. He’s still not sleeping well. I suggested he try out the Hemp for him months ago and bought him a pot; I don’t like to see him all done in. But he thought they were drugs. Wished him a better kip, and he took the bags with him to the waste chute for me. Herbert gave me a drilling noises concert this time. How he does it so musically amazes me, he even ended with a thud or two to sign off. Hehe!
I think this was the fourth time that £23m a year’s Fries of Liberty-Global has gone down. Not for so long this time, though… but just give him time. You know, there’s a slight chance that he doesn’t even care. or know about his total failure in running an internet Suppliers company? Still, getting that sort of money, he must have some connection with the Mafia, Government or Putin?
I had two of the Royalty Priced lemon iced cakes and a mug of Thompson’s Punjana black tea. Note the tray that holds the cakes? It’s made if wood, I forget which one now, but they are feather light. Minutes after scoffing, in walked ‘I know best’, Esther. I was just trying to get the Liberty-Global Virgin Media back online at the time. She spoke a lot, mostly from the other room, so I’ve no idea what she was on about, but she didn’t tell me off when she came back in the room… which tells me that two scenarios may be in progress here. ① She was pleased with not getting any answers, so she may have put up the costs she charges, and I will never know. ② Or, she is planning a super-rollicking for me next week and is cunningly formulating now? She then decided I had not enough clothes dirtied to bother with her washing today. Which may result in an increased cost next week if the laundry bag is too big? Anyway, I played it safe cause I was a little nervous about not getting shouted at, which threw me a bit. I gave her the other two M&S lemon cakes. Scared? Me? You bet I am! Not half!
I spent so long on this blog, having to keep stopping regularly when Mr Fries Liberty-Global Virgin Media kept going down. The evening Carer may come at any time. So I had a nibble of some of the peas I put in the container after the Accifauxpa in the kitchen earlier. I had to move them away from the computer in the end, I was forever nibbling some, and with Peripheral Pete and Shaking Shoulder Shirley giving me some hassle, there are probably at least a dozen of the dried monster lurking somewhere in the room, ready for me to tread on them. Hehehe! Hello, a final (I hope) blast from Herbert. Sounded like the hammer and drill were being used in unison? Clever stuff, you know. Cheeky Charlie, the carer arrived; she’s not been for a while. I’ve missed her. She kindly got the gloves on and ointmentated the swollen toes, a stubbed part of the foot, and the ankle ulcer for me. That was lovely. ♥ The leg and foot felt much betterer afterwards.
Got some food cooking then. Potato Rosti in the oven. Took a photo of it, but it never made it to the SD card? Humph! Anyway, it was good. Rating: 8.2/10. Washed the pots and tittivated the kitchen; and got my head down to watch the England Women v (Nasty, fouling) Sweden Woman match on the box. I’ve not been as proud of an England team’s performance since 1966. Now, will it be France or Germany we face in the final?
After the match, I went to make a brew, and the night sky was begging to be photographed. So I did. Fantastic! (An almost water-colour-painted) hue. Argh! The left foot this time, though. The ointmentated right ankle was looking so calm. Grrreat! Got my head down, comforted by England’s phenomenal win over the Sweden bully-girls. But anxious, in the event that we face France in the final. I have an EQ-inspired thought that if it is France, it could mean defeat. I pray that Germany wins against France tomorrow night.
I rose, mentally weary and physically so tired. Sweet Morpheus has been unkind to me for a few days. Not much sleep at all.
I pottered about, starting many things and drifting merrily off to such others. Not many saw completion or fruition.
I found some photos that were supposed to have gone on yesterday’s blog. Last night’s meal. A veggie dinner and veggie ice cream, not that the brain was clear enough, but I think it was nice and tasty. I gave the memory an 8/10 score. Apart from the beetroot, which tested my loose teeth. Which reminded me, I must remember the Dentist’s visit on Monday! arrived and sorted out the medications. I noticed when I opened the new bag that some of the same medicines had shorter-dated packs at the bottom of the drawer. Of course, there were only a few that I could read the date on, thanks to the Cataracts. The carer soon got me sorted. Didn’t want any drinkies or nibbles and left leaving the waste bags in the hallway. I didn’t think to ask her to take them; a new gal is not up with the system yet. Nervous and weary, but nice enough, bless her. It was a bit colder this morning, a lot, in fact.
I took some photographicalisations from the kitchen window.
Then went on the computer – that was it; I spent around eight hours doing odeing and never got around to starting this actual blog!
Had a shower, shave and a sh… well, we’ll leave that bit. Not that it was a bit. A Constipation Konrad controlled session. Firm, painful and in the end, a little bloody, Harold’s Haemorrhoids suffered.
Then realised I’d not done the Health Checks yet. So I did!
Yet again, an overall lower than ever before result! Phenomenal
I started on an Ode for the top of this blog. And it took me hours to get done. Mind-Blanks! Kungleturds! My efforts were accompanied by Herbert’s mechanical and metal cacophony concert.
Nearly tea time now. It won’t be long until the evening carer is due. What happened to the time?
Mind you, every wee-wee was followed by , and Little Inchies a few times, which cost me a lot of lost time. I’m still tired, is slowing me down now. I’m struggling with using CorelDraw. The keyboard keys blend into each other. Grollocks!

My daily walk through the tree copse mattered…
If I tried it nowadays, I’d be devoured…
By various ailments pains, again and again…
Can’t get up the hill or down in the subterranean…
Would it help me if I took some cocaine?
Or a few more Codeines for the pain?
I’d likely end up an addicted crackbrain?
Better not think of doing this then…
Should I be eating bread that’s multigrain?
I hope the cataract is done soon, my vision to regain…
Oh, dearie me, I need the Throne made of Porcelain…
Bloody Constipation Conrad; he’s barbaric!
I lost blood from the piles, trapped something in the seat of plastic!
The rock-hard evacuation nearly sent me ballistic!.
Sorry, I mustn’t be so melodramatic…
Little Inchies fungal lesion bled; it’s only miniaturistic,
It’s no use me being all nostalgic,
Or far-seeing and nostradamic,
And I’m not getting into a tizwas or panic…
Even with all my ailments, and now I’m osteoarthritic…
I intend to learn how to be optimistic,
Being depressed has been making me feel sick,
As do people who call me a prick…
For having such a tiny man-dick… Bullies, gangs, fiddling MPs, Doctors charlatanic…
I find these scumbags are lowlife, oxymoronic,
They concern, bother me, even if I’m thanatognomonic,
Dementia Doreen, toys with all things mnemic…
Dates, appointments, names, days… it could be hilaric…
But with me, there are other things to make me feel despotic,
Peed off, humiliated, and depressogenic…
I’ve forgotten what they are; because I’m a schmendrick!
Yet I used to be known as being hyperdynamic,
I’m so fat naturally; I’m not bulimic,
I don’t see the end of mankind as cataclysmic…
If there is a God, our actions must have made him sick…
If St Peter wants to send me back to earth again… Horrific!
One failure is enough for me; that would be so dramatic.
Unless he assures me this time, my man-worm will be pythonic!

Turned the Computer off and thoughts of food developed. But there are not many choices fresh-wise, and I’m too tired and shaking to bother too much.
I decided first to take some close-up photos of the ankle and feet. Here they are on the left here. The left foot is getting worse, but the right one with the ulcer is far easier and better looking tonight.
The left toes and foot had lost a lot of fluid. The right one was still retaining a lot of water. Walking remains more like hobbling and a smidge risky when the PN wobbles and shakes come on while getting around the flat.
Ah, off to the wet room. A tough evacuation that almost brought tears to my eyes. Washed up, and I medicated poor old Harold’s Haemorrhoids.
Then back to pondering on what to have to eat. Well, I was not interested in cooking, and the tiredness decided me to have a quick snack. A pot of pot noodles, with extra seasonings, added. Liquid smoke and BBQ sauce. A pot of instant potato with liquid salt, soya bacon pieces and more BBQ sauce. A few sad-looking slices of dry bread to dip into the noodles and wrap up some of the potatoes to make a sarnie out of. The picture looks terribly sparse, unappetising, a pathetic meal. That is because it was all these things!
Yet… maybe because of Sweet Morpheus’s determination that I will not get any sleep, combined with his success in doing this, I enjoyed the nosh. I think a Taste-Rating of 6.5/10 would not be over-gracious? Even though I fell asleep eating it! Woke and finished it off and drifted into the land of nod again. I think it must have been a deep one, cause I reckon I was dreaming I was sleeping… and great joy was floating in my mind, peaceful… ♫Oh, Susana♫ burst out from the door chime box six foot away in front of me. It jerked me awake, and Valerie came into the room, and instantly the tiredness hit me again. I’d only been sleeping for five minutes! I was hoping to stay in the recliner while Valerie gave me the medications, then I could nod off again when the gal had finished, but no! Valerie needed some medications, and I got up and hobbled into the kitchenette to get her some from the medicine drawer.
Valerie gave me the doses, and I had a little natter with her. She pointed out that my Stuttering-Stephanie habit was a lot worse tonight. I’d not noticed? Why I wondered? And stayed not knowing!) I can’t remember if I offered her any nibbles or not? I hope I did. I think I stayed in the chair as she left after I thanked her.
But there was no sleeping early tonight for me. I soon realised I’d not locked the door. So, what with the memory of the yobboes coming in at two in the morning still fresh in my mind, I had to get up and go to lock the door – Not a hard task, really… However, stubbing my toe on the way back against the clothes airer ensured a minor curse word was emitted, thus, cocking up any chance of getting to sleep early!
After an hour or so, I gave up and put a DVD on. Humph!
From the heights of success and much glee,
From being a Kingpin at the top of the tree…
I was never a Hank Marvin or Bruce Lee…
Drinking, I got the sack for my lampoonery,
Only one way to go now for me!
Down, with a frown… In despair to be drowned… I have yet to hit the ground… For I’d been hoping for good luck to be found, Doreen Dementia was giving me the run-around… I’m like a blubbery whale that’s run aground!
But further into the quagmire, I plunged, My last wishes and plans expunged… Splat… I was dead, so no longer unhinged No medications, no ears to be syringed… No more waiting for the next ailment that twinged, And not be moaned at, or be zugzwanged!.
SAINT PETERS GATE
Ah, St Peters Gate, will I get angel wings?
Two bouncers descended the stairing…
Nicked my walking stick and kicked me in the shin?
Why? I asked: “You were making too much of a din!”,
“If yer going to be a noisy bugger, you’re not gerrin in!
Another snuffed-it tellurian came, name of Martin…
Not as fat as me, in fact, he was relatively thin…
Same age, looked younger, said he was addicted to gin?
THE INTERVIEWS
I said, “I don’t want to know!” He said: ‘I was talking to him!’ …
Pointing at St Peter, who was busy questioning.
I say, ‘I was here first!’
“Ah, but I played in World Cup with Geoff Hurst!”
I quipped: “Is that it then, footballers go first”?
Adding, “That’s not fair! God, would be fair!”
A bouncer. the one with long hair…
Pointed to St Peter, smoking a reefer, sat in a chair…
“You see that bloke there?
“Yea!”
Well, he makes the rules for what happens here…
And he’s a West Ham fan, pulled out his taser…
He stunned me through my blazer…
I shouted. “You missed my ticker by a centimetre…
Do? yer, dead anyway, and laughed with St Peter!
Sorry, I died now; I was safer back in Uttoxeter!.
The Tannoy burst out, “You, tubby, shurrup, you blooter!
St Peter departed, saying I sort the bald one in the next millennia.
Hang on, I say, how long does a millennium last?
Don’t matter, does it? As he grabbed my hand for fingerprinting...
No rush; you’ve no one inside whittling…
“What about my Dad and Cyril, my cat?” I said, grovelling…
Well, if yer like, I can send you back to earth while yer waiting?
Words I never thought I’d find so frightening!

SUNDAY 17th July 2022
I stirred around 05:00hrs. I had a wee-wee without any leakages. Washed, shaved, and in an industrious mood, I set about prepping Josie’s Sunday meal.
Prepped the fresh vegetables, got them in the saucepan, seasoned them and kept stirring them every now and then. This was when I realised I had got hot water from the tap! And Carer Valerie had requested maintenance to attend, and they were coming today! Oh, I did feel a fool! I turned my attention to trying to find a number for Nottingham City Homes Maintenance. Out of hours one, it is the weekend, and standard lines are unavailable. It was a farcical effort. I did find and ring the number: A recorded message, which as with everything on the phone, was hard to understand. I think she said that this line is for emergencies only. A smidgeon of panic rose within. And after being stumped completely, I decided to ask the morning Carer if he/she would mind calling the number to see if it was possible to let them know that the problem has solved itself. Which is better than saying: “The twit who lives here is senile and has Vascular Dementia, so the old fool gets things a muffle” Don’t you think! To save the cost of an engineer coming out when not needed. I hope the maintenance man doesn’t beat the Carer in arriving… Oh, dear! I forgot about the Morrison delivery coming today via Amazon until a text message arrived. I rushed about and got room made in the fridge and had just finished it when they arrived. A jolly decent chap came with carefully packed bags. I was pleased to see they had sent some vegan burgers, I’ve had them before and enjoyed this brand, so I ordered two packs of four burgers. How or why I ordered (if I did?) the breadcrumbed ones are beyond me? Vegan ice cream, some lemon ‘Free-From Bakewells on this tray… Mmm!
Food cupboard stocks resupplied. I’m hoping these cooked beetroots are actually-cooked and not raw like the Iceland ones were. Various cans of beans, pickled gherkins and a small bottle of BBQ sauce completed these bags. All three cupboards have been replenished now.
I had another look around for the NCH telephone numbers. No luck! Then did a deep Sherlock Holmesian ferret about the missing sunglasses that I might need tomorrow if they do the cataract operation in the morning. No luck! So, I had a hunt around for the hearing aid blower, oddly enough… No luck! About 07:40hrs, the Morning Carer, Johnathan… no, no… Joseph arrived. The first thing I did was welcome him in with a big smile and tell him I had a problem and he might be able to help me out. I told him of my Whoopsiedangleplop with the hot water and asked if Joseph would mind calling the NCH for me. The lad was already running late, and he said he had to press on, fair enough, no problem with that. He then said he was getting his last calls done and came back to help[ me with the maintenance call. I thanked him. A final stir and taste of Josie’s chilli, and off to the Porcelain room. Cor blimey, that was a big one! Hehehe! Got a wash again and went back to check on the Sunday lunch for Josie. Tasted good! I’d left the Canon camera in the wet room. I took a photo of my neighbours’ food tray and got it delivered quickly. Cleaned up the things used in cooking and returned to the computer to start this blog. Thought I’d upload the meal photograph… The Canon camera had not got the SD card in! Grungle-Self-Curses! And it was one to be proud of as well! Grrr! I am getting angrier with Dementia Doreen lately!
Then as things had calmed down, I did the belated Health Checks.
The Blood Pressure was up a little bit. Pulse down a smidgeon, and the body temperature was great!
The NHS input site was given the readings, which came out only in the red area. Pretty pleased with this.
I went into the kitchen to put some chips in the oven for my nosh and had a hat-trick of Whoopsie-Accifauxpas within minutes of getting in there.
① Dropped the tray over fresh oven-ready chips, and being so hungry, I picked them up, cleaned them, and put them in the oven anyway. ② ③ Burnt wrist putting the pots in the oven. Better get the food done now before the evening Carer arrives. Tired, drained and worn out. I made a quick, simple nosh, which was tastier than many I’ve made. The fresh chips cooked in the oven were possibly the best I’ve ever tasted in months. Morrisons, they were. A bread roll, a few red and yellow tomatoes, and a pot of BBQ sauce to dip and dunk in. Hehehe!
Arrived, she soon had me sorted, and I stripped and got down in the second-hand, £300, c1968, overwhelmingly-sickeningly beige coloured, tatty, uncomfortable, wobbly-recliner. In search of Sweet Morpheus.
