06:00hrs: I woke my better-than-nothing four-hour kip. I waited for my brain to kick into gear, but it didn’t. So, in a sort of auto-mode, I decided to get the ablutioning done. I thought it best, in case the Carer arrived early.
But, No! , by the time I’d risen, the driven brain had started and decided I’d do the first after all.
I must admit that there was a little agitation brewing at this course of actioning change! Why? How? I was certain I was going to get sphygmomanometerisationing done. But somehow or other ended up getting the clothes ready, and yet I still drifted into the wet room? I still hadn’t really grasped what I was doing until I was lathering up for a shave. It was so unreal. Had done the Health Checks and had a memory blank? No, no… it was at her worst, toying with me. So, I stopped shaving; and got back into the front room. This time I did set about sphygmomanometerisationing. It took me ages to get them done, then the graphics, and then I totally forgot about doing the ablutions? This is not easy for me to relate to.
I got puzzled at first at the grading the NHS site gave for Blood Pressure. I had two results in the Green, so expected to overall at least be in the amber this time. Again, No! I ended up deeper in the Hypertension 1+ area than yesterday! Erm? Then, the body temperature, which has been so good, I thought lately, had tumbled down into the Low-Red area. I think I’ll just print them off and not bother fretting over whatever the results are in future. I imagine the arithmophobia is partly the reason things do not seem right to me. Ah, I think I may have got the numbers mixed up?
After a while, I went to make a brew of Thompson’s Punjana tea… but ended up making a mug of Co-op 99. I know this is not earth-shattering, but it’s indicative of my state of mind this morning. I’m trying to find the words for this. ‘Puddled’ comes to mind.
I took these shots of the view from the kitchenette window.
Then, I remembered the needed to be done. Back to the wet room, and the need for the arose. Down on the plastic seat, and as it has been for a few days now, Constipation Conrad ruled. No torpedo today, though. After what felt like an hour of pushing and hurting in an effort to start the evacuation, suddenly, the pain eased, followed by a series of plopping into water-sounds. Haha! This time, there was some bleeding from . I restarted the shaving that I stopped many hours ago. Just the two tiny . Had another stand-up session and no showering.
Arrived later than usual. Well, it’s not unusual on the last day of his shift. I got that wrong! is toying with me today. Richard was yawning a little, but far less than last Thursday (He didn’t come last Thursday!) We had a chinwag, and he sorted out the Covid booster for me. He’s a good lad.
WordPress Comments. Esther arrived. Updated Wed blog. Jenny called to see how I was. CorelDraw to make graphs as needed.
Deana called to say the EasyLink lift was arranged for 10:20hrs in the morning. I mentioned the Covid Booster, and we worked out which one to go to would be best. She tried to get it at Riverside tomorrow, but she had no free time near that. She then got it booked at Carrington Pharmacy for Thursday 18th, at 10:45hrs. She’ll try her best to book a lift there with EasyLink for me.
Belatedly I got onto Pinteresting. Made a meal (took a photo of it, but I left the SD card in the computer – Spit! Carer Sinead arrived, always social event and laugh.
Yet another not-nice night of nodding and jumping awake minutes later – repeatedly! At 03:25hrs, I got up from the semi-comfort of the £300, used, second-hand shop bought nine years ago, c1966, discomfiting, alarmingly Karki-beige coloured, crumb-containing, TV remote hiding, not working recliner, for a wee-wee. And, after several minutes of waiting for the to stop. I gave up any silly ideas of getting back to sleep, knowing full well that I would be jerked back into reality within a few minutes.
I got the computer on, then went to make a brew of tea. The early morning view was most pretty, so I fetched the Lumix to take a photograph of it. I went back to the computer to collect the camera, back to the kitchen and took this picture on the left, and realised that the toes and feet felt a lot easier this morning. Good! or were making it hard for me to see. Made the brew, got the mug of tea made safely, and returned to the computer carefully with it. I gave myself a stubbing on the right big toe against the Ottoman corner of the Ottoman on my way back. Spilt some tea that found its way somehow on the clean jumper I’d put on, my left knee and the right foot sock, and the carpet! There was no swearing or cursing.
The rain started again.
I then proceeded quite professionally to get myself into a proper pickle with the updating of the Tuesday blog. I did get uptight about that. I think the odds are that with having made so many mistakes in correcting and formatting, I think I may well have forgotten to move some writing that I put in the wrong place and had to move – one of them was possibly corrected and put in another wrong position. I don’t really want to check it again…
I started sorting out the template for this blog, and I was so disappointed when started to kick off so early in the day. Especially after she was not too bad yesterday. WP Comments.
Surprisingly arrived. He seemed in good spirits too! I was flabbergasted to see him; I thought he was off work ill! He said they changed his rota for yesterday. So glad to see him looking perkier too! No yawing, either. We had a natter and a moan after he’s done the alarm wristlet check and got the medications given. Then, Richard explained why the Goose Fair burgers were so high in price – he said they were ginormous! Nice to see him so unexpectedly. It cheered me up. I gave Rich his bag of teats from yesterday. He pointed out how little I had in the fridge.
I spent hours trying to get started on this blog. But it was hard-slog cause the concentration had crumbled again, and the eyes made it an error-ridden effort.
I made an order for Iceland on Saturday. Then one for Morrisons through Amazon, which reminded me I’ve got the belts coming from them today. But the estimated time was late; 17:00 > 21:00hrs.
Bloody Marvellous!
I was getting the details of the food orders on Calendar when it went down…
Got a message come telling me that TODAYS Morrison order is on its way!
Couldn’t check anything at Mr incompetent-overpaid Liberty-Global Virgin Media Fries net was down again… ☠
Then I got a phone call from Easy-Link to confirm times for the bus in the morning and kindly add that they will return to pick me up from the Doctor’s to lift me home to the flats at 09:40hrs.
Then I got a call from the DVT Clinic changing the Warfarin doses…
I changed the Warfarin list on the Carers folder.
I am now completely confused. I’m not really surprised about this!
Just to cheer me up, the rain started again!
Aha! The Liberty-Global Virgin Media Internet came back on. But talk about slow! Never known it so slow as this, then…
The $23.6 million a year salaried, plus bonuses and an unlimited expense account genius and number-cruncher, Mr Fries, who has no clue as to customer service or even how to run an internet service without it going down several times a day, went down again!
Now I’m worried about the belts arriving, and the for tomorrow but coming today (most likely my fault though, I’ll put money on it!), Morrison Delivery, and all are due to arrive at the same time as the evening Carer!
Now all I need to do is not hear the intercom when they arrive; if they arrive – Oh, dear, sorry I said that! Well, fancy that, the rains falling again. Argh!!! Got to do something important? Or, I think I have forgotten something… Oh dearie me! I’ve all het up with everything happening at the same time, so there must be a decent chance that I’ve misheard or misunderstood something?
The Amazon Morrison order arrived Got the goods put away. Josie rang the chime to give me some gigantic bananas. I’ve asked her not to gift me food I cannot eat so many times, bless her. The diabetes course has told me motto eat bananas, but I do have them when I can get mini-ones. These ones must have been a foot long!
The belts from Amazon arrived. Two fit, just. The third I can gift to Carer Richard in the morning.
Carers Shannon and Sam arrived, both in good spirits.
Took these shots of the sunset period and then got the ablutions done.
It was not a good session.
Five little dicks shaving.
Bleeding away.
Gave me a few good shakings!
Cut gums teeth cleaning.
A session of agony, bleeding, and extreme effort was needed on my behalf to force the evacuating product to start its journey to freedom and the Nottingham sewers!
Vicious!
The battle with Glenda left me with a bruised toe and finger. Humph!
I had not had any sleep to speak of; one horrendous night; With Thought Storms, and each time I moved an iota, either the or else would wake me up, not that I did a lot of nodding off last night. At around 0600hrs, I was forced out of the discomfort of the £300, second-hand, musty, Haemorrhoid Harold Testing, cringingly beige, crumb-covered, not-working, rickety recliner. Standing up, and getting to the Porcelain Throne, has never been more excruciating.
I got to the wet room and proceeded with the evacuation. Apart from a little bleeding, there was no struggle or pain involved. I decided, as I have done for several days now, that as I was already in there, I’d get the done. Which I did! I felt sure that I’d hear the door chime music if a Carer Came. Started with the shaving. Determined not to get so many cuts this time, I went steady with the razors… but that was not working, not around the neck, anyway. It’s not fair that the hair does no longer grow on the head but is growing enthusiastically on the neck and shoulder tops. I’ve just got to apply more pressure to get the soft twine-like razor-blocking type. I acquired about eight cuts, all on the neck, so I couldn’t see them. Looking in a mirror at one neck hole is impossible with and jerking you about.
Got around to the medicationalisationings. Harold’s Haemorrhoids first. Always the easiest one to tackle. Then the worst one, pain-wise, Little Inchies Fungal Lesion. A few, well, many Oohs and Arghs were released while doing this task. I believe a couple of words describing my hatred of the lesion sneaked out, too!
The farce of trying to put the eye drops in the eye seemed more ridiculous than usual today.I used about a third of the new bottle, and of that, I doubt if much of it actually got into the cataracted eye. The nose, cheek, chin and chest… Yes! No problem with the nose spray. Germolenes the creases in the belly and put some on the neck cuts that were resisting the Brut and were still bleeding. I rubbed some into the hands as well. But there was no way I could get close enough to do the toes! Humph! I’d have done the toes as well with the Phorpain. But the problem’s the same, isn’t it? I can’t get to them. I think I’ll ask one of the Carers to rub them both in if they would for me.
I was getting the fresh PPs out and realised I had left the trousers in the front room. So I popped in to retrieve them from the computer room; The evening Care had let herself in and was at the Carers Desk when I limped into the room – naked, I thought at the time! Oh, what a mistake to maker! I hid behind the back of the recliner. Thank heavens that I noticed I actually had put the PPs on! Phew! The was Sam. It all happened so long ago, it 18:00hrs, and as I say, the fatigued is coming on, so with that, the memory and concentration fade. So things may be short on detail from here on, as I have only my poorly scribbled notes to go by.
I missed putting this photograph of the morning view I took earlier. Another not-too-great shot. I’m becoming quite skilled at taking these. And also the shaky-+looking pictures. Not to mention the mystery photos that came from I know not where. Oh, I mentioned them! Noisy-Neighbour Herbert, in the flat above, has been knocking and tapping away on and off for hours now. And this continued until 17:00hrs When I got a blessed relief from them. Must have been having his dinner. I am afraid I am getting pissed off with Mr Untouchable, and for an hour or two, maybe four, each time he kicked off, I hit the ceiling with Metal-Micky. Who has not left my side and has been used so many times? I hope he complains… mind you knowing that ignorant superior, loved by the Nottingham City Homes Management, it’ll be in the wrong, and I’ll get myself thrown out of the flat.
Blogging on and off all day, and as the day progresses, so do my mistakes, errors, Whooposiedangleplops and concentration.
I spotted a bag of prescriptions on the Carers table that will be left for Richard to sort out on Monday.
I keep meaning to ask Richard if Meridian might ask for some Anusol to be put on my monthly prescriptions. Having to pay over £7 for a tiny tube is prohibitive. I hope I remember to ask and that they do add it monthly. I got the bowl with some Dettol and washing-up liquid in it and gave the feet a good soak. The toes are just not easing up, pain-wise.Mind you, paying a woman £25 pounds to cut your toenails, and she cuts your toes as well, almost every time you go… Is not good! I shall ask whichever Carer comes tonight (Assuming one does come, of course) if they will rub some Germolene on the toes gently. And Phorpain Gel on the ankle and legs. Surely I must get some sleep tonight after last night’s sleepless nocturnal hours?
Just as I was correcting the multitudinous above passage, there really was a lot of them to do! Arrived and read the above passage after giving the medications. Although she was late, she still agreed to do my feet for me; bless her cotton Socks! She’d seen where the tubes were and got on with looking after me. She’d chatted while doing them and was deserving of some extra treats, which she selected. ♥
Ah, the feet felt better now! I was not hungry at all? So no cooking; I could concentrate on sleeping. Got the TV on so I could fall asleep when the commercials came on. I took a Hemp capsule; hopefully, that should calm me down, ready for the much-mossed sleep ahead. I thought I had worked out well all that I could do to encourage Sweet Morpheus to visit me. Got the computer off. Some nuts and bikkies on the Ottoman next to the chair, with a litre of blackcurrant and apple-flavoured spring water.
Now for the challenge! Can I get to sleep? Will the Thought-Storms arrive? Will the unneighbourly, superior-natured, snotty, unfriendly, superior-acting standoffish kick-off so late at night again? With his weekend concerts of banging, tap-tapping and thudding again? Or, mayhaps, either or will ruin things for me? We Shall See. I’ll report back in the morning to finish this blog. Fingers crossed of course.
I’m back. I weakened and made a meal of sorts after all. A roasted vegetable Risotto with BBQ sauce added a banana and a pot of lemon mousse. The mousse was not eaten. The fries were added, and I dined while watching the 1968, I think, cup final twixt Coventry City and Tottenham Hotspur. Flavour rating: 8.2/10.
I washed the pot, back into the recliner and soon fell asleep… Bliss!

NEMO MORTALIUM OMINBUS HORIS SAPIT
04;30hrs: I woke, but not time for Thought Storms, self-pitying, or passing the usual wind… For the was desperately needed, I frantically farted about and somehow made it to the Throne in time, just. The evacuation took about 30 seconds, and it was all over. Minor bleeding, but not a lot. No effort from me was needed; it was all passed in auto-mode. Besides the regulation cuts shaving, everything went so well that it worried me. However, on leaving the wet room, I did a Master-Class Top Quality, Damned painfully . Right on the edge of the door as I was closing it! Of course, it didn’t bother me at all, being the brave, heroic sort of young man that I am. Ahem!
Off to the kitchenette to make a brew of J. Sainsbury’s Extra Strong Brown Label tea.
But the morning’s views from the window caught my good eye. It was raining and appeared so different to what it normally is. Out came the Lumix; I offered up a prayer that it would fail me again and took these shots. The second one was taken through the bottom portion of the window. I tried different modes from the SCN options. But didn’t do very well. Although the last one was not too bad, I’m not claiming it is good, mind you.
As I was taking the last shot, an even more urgent than the first one needed for the . This time a totally changed mode of evacuation again! Rock hard, reluctant and bloody painful. The cracks in the ceiling counted up to 46 this visit. I spent an hour updating the Thursday blog and a further 45 minutes putting photographs on Pinterest.
Then got the seen, starting with the temperature and Blood Pressure. Roughly the same as yesterday’s results. The NHS site indicated that the Blood Pressure was almost down in the Amber zone. The Excel graphs have broken the run of reds, and it looks much better now!
The Body Temperature has come down nicely, too! It’s taken a while for it to tumble… but all fine now!
I checked the flat repeatedly for safely leaving, lights, oven, windows, taps, heaters etc.
Jodie arrived and got the medications sorted out for me. The regulation treats accepted. ♥
Herbert above was giving me some banging, tapping and knocking. But I knew I’d soon be going out, so it didn’t bother me so much.
Then I spotted how the weather had changed so quickly. To fog!
As it turned out, I foolishly got the Lumix out of my coat pocket to take these two pictures. The first straight ahead, and the second one of the car park below on Chestnut Walk.
Oh, I’d better get ready for the bus trip. Tried to make sure I’d got everything needed, pen, mobile, hearing-aids and batteries… but I’ll tell you now, I forgot to put the camera back in my pocket!
I got down and waited for the EasyLink bus. The lady was lovely, and we chatted, and we were soon inRiverside, Bulwell. As she dropped me off, she said the pick-up was at 15:30hrs! I was sure Deana had asked them to make it for 13:30hrs? The lady said just ring us if you want it earlier, and if we can, we will do it. Fair enough. Of course, I forgot to ask her for the number!
Up in the lift, and all the others were in the room, the meeting was starting. I gave a cheery “Good morning each”, displaying my bestest smile. Humph! No one answered. The usual thing was that so many of us could not hear everything the tutor was saying. He just carried on in the same tone when I pointed this out. When he was talking about the exercise details of what we need to do… I could not resist letting myself talk out: “Well, on Wednesday, my morning Carer arrived just after I’d collapsed onto the floor… I went down to get the bus that did not arrive. I went back up to the flat, took off my outer clothes, and rang Easy-Link, who told me they were due at 10:00hrs. I dashed about to get dressed again. Caught the bus to the doctor, who told me that I didn’t have an appointment today. The Doctor gave me the flu jab. I had to walk back to Sherwood. Catching the bus back up the hill, I missed the step. The driver and passengers got me back on my feet. Now, I think that was a reasonable amount of exercise, bearing in mind that I had a fight with the sock glide and lost when I got into the flat? (I kept a straight face throughout) And I got the best bout of laughter from the patients for it! Although a couple on the other side just furrowed their brows and looked confused, the educator Nathaniel’s glare should really have melted me on the spot! The best moment of the day for me, this was!
But, of course, there were bad things on the horizon going to happen that would send me back into a Dracula Depression.
I was last to leave and made my way in the windy weather that had got up into Bulwell Market to have a delve into the shops. Going into the shops was a mistake. A shopaholic should never risk it when he has his bank card. A financial disaster! In the B&M store, I got some drinks for the nurses, Wardens and Carers. Different ones, I like to tweak their interest. I came out of the shop with two big bags full of stuff! Babycham, cokes, disinfectant, snacks, chocolates, mini wines, and biscuits (A lot of them!) As I turned from the checkout and the dangerously overloaded with the two bags hanging on the handles of the walker, I realised there was a min-rainstorm out there!
I was soaked to the skin in minutes. People were running into shops to escape the wind and rain, and the Market Stalls were abandoned. I got out the umbrella, and with needing both hands to control the walker-trolley in the howling wind, this was an impossibility. So I just had to get wetterer! What could I do? So I went into the Heron Foods store. I came out with non-alcoholic drinks (I0), a Korean black bean Chilli. (I still don’t know why I did that), lemon desserts, black bags and Skinny Whips for the Carers.Came out, and the rain and wind were no better, so I took cover in the Iceland Shop. Tsk! Black bags, rice, Orange flavoured Wagon Wheels (they were for me!), Zoflora, and Party Ring biscuits.
This is where I thought I could get some smashing shots of the abandoned stalls, people running this way and that, and the atrocious weather. I got outside again, and the weather was worse than ever! The Market Place looked like a bomb site as the wind blew the emptied stalls all over. I tried to hasten back to the shelter of the Riverside Venue to get under cover, at least. But controlling the three-wheeler with all that weight on it, there was more weight now as the carrier bags filled with rainwater! Then I realised I’d forgotten to take the camera with me! Wot an Idiot!
Fighting to keep control, I walked into a massive puddle; I had no choice in the matter. The way the wind went, so did I! The shoes filled up with the cold rain. Eventually, I got into the building. And walked through to the car park entrance. Checked the time, and I still had over an hour to wait for the Easy-Link bus to arrive.
The waiting area inside had these massive automatic sliding doors for exit and ingress. The rain and wind continued! And those sliding doors never stopped opening and closing, even when no one was near them. I was chilled to the bone, wet and miserable.
Also, when I got the crossword book out to have a go at during my marathon wait for the lift, it was soaked through. Not surprising, really. But it did annoy me a bit.
When the minibus arrived, and the driver chap came in, boy was I happy! I could have kissed him, but didn’t! He was not a natural natterer, so a silent journey, apart from me talking. But, he cheered up when we got back to the flats. When I gave him a choice of drinkies from the trolley bag.
All I wanted to do, was to get a mug of tea and dried off. BUT NO! There in the foyer, hands on her hips and looking threatening was Warden Julie. “They’re waiting for you in the salon, you’ve got yer feet appointed, and that was for over an hour ago!” I couldn’t argue or even bother to explain the reason for my being late; I was drained and very damp. She kindly frog-marched to the salon. Not really, but it sounded good, dinnit? Just walked with the dripping trolley and soaked all over in the squelching shoes as fast as I could to the salon. I don’t think the nail-cutter was very happy at having to stay on longer to do me. I did explain to her why I was late, but it didn’t raise a smile, get me out of her hatred zone, or even get any comment after telling her. She did speak to me after cutting two of my toes. She only nobbled one last time? She told me I now had two ingrowing toenails. From start to finish, she did the job in less than five minutes? I was certainly in pain from the normal toenails she cut; the last toe that she cut; made me jump. I said a naughty word! Shame! Usually, I offer them a drinkie, but the cans were in the water in the carrier bags, and I didn’t know which one anyway. I’ll take some down for them next week. Paid the £25 demanded, with my last £30. Telling the lady at the desk, who owns the salon, about how I struggle to find pound coins to pay the Easy-Link with, and she gave me Five coins instead of a fiver. x
Got back into the flat at long last. Got the wet clothes off, drained the carrier bags, and sorted out the purchases bought. Disinfectants wot I got. The Fabulosa washing scent stuff stunk awful to me, but the Carer loved it?
Ah, the treats here, each and every one a new variety. No, they are!
I can’t understand why I bought those Mexican beans in chilli? They’re bound to be too hot for me! That Dairy-Free spread looks worth a try.
Chestnut mushrooms. Sausages for Richard on Monday, and I’m looking forward to trying that Korean BBQ-flavoured rice. I’ll ask Richard to help me break them up. I got on the computer about six hours ago, and am still on it doing this blog, now. Apart from when Sam (I think) called. Some names I can remember… but not many. Got me sorted and chose one of the new drinkies and a Chunky White Milky Bar for nibbles in thanks.
I pressed on until I started getting the shivers, obviously, from getting soaked through earlier. I shall get something to eat and call it quits. I’ll have to finish this in the morning… There’s a thought, I hope I get a Carer, it’s Saturday innit tomorrow. Back in the morning… I hope!
A sad meal was made up. A veggie burger on three uncut sliced cobs, and I sliced up some of Jenny’s donated tomatoes. ♥ And a banana for afters. Not the best looking or appetizing meals I’ve done, but I was in pain and so weary. The Taste-Rating of 3.5/10. But most likely, this low score was due to my state of Health. I can’t smell things very well now with the cold coming on. I’m still shivering cold, sniffling, stabbing away at me, and the feet are so painful, it’s hard to believe! To counter the discomfort, I took an extra Codeine and a Hemp capsule.Sleep will help as much as anything, I think. After the care calls, I’ll get myself settled in the second-hand, £300, charity shop bought, crumb-retaining, microorganism-producing, smell-retaining, gungy beige coloured, none-working, incommodious, Haemorrhoid Harold testing, c1968 recliner, and if it’s not on, turn on the TV, in hopes that it will help me get to sleep. It normally does; I’ll nod off when the commercials come on screen.
Ad KI was checking the SD file before turning off the computer, and I found the one on the left was on the SD card.
The Mystery Photo of the Month?
I know what I think it might have just been, but that would have been a physical impossibility. Does anyone have any thoughts on the subject? Obviously, a shot was taken by mistake?
18:25hrs: Jodie, I think it was, but you never know for sure – Well, I don’t anyway! Sad, innit? I was watching an episode of ‘Heartbeat’ at the time she arrived, and I was almost dropping off. Hehehe! Got the tablets issued. The Carer put my socks on… not on herself, on me. Hehe! I think I’ve made a mess of this? Might have been Sam? We had a chat then, she chose some treats, and she took the waste bag to the chute on her way out.
I settled to watch the second episode of Heartbeat. During which I estimate I nodded off about eight or nine times. Ruined the viewing. The next time I woke up was about an hour later. I turned off the TV, assured now that I would soon be in the Land of Nod within minutes, which I was!
, I bounded back awake, convinced I’d left the hot water tap running! I rose painfully onto my feet. The feet and toes were giving me some bother and a half! mainly. The knees seemed to have given way to the new Unguis incarnates pains. Off into the kitchenette, no tap running, then I went into the wet room to check there and shoulder-charged the doorframe going in. This got going; the toes were getting worse, and after all that, the hot tap was not running. Not that that was the end of the little mental pandemonium known as , Oh, no! Back in the £300, second-hand, c1968, cringingly-beige-coloured, not-working, rickety recliner, without the slightest chance of nodding off again, due to the hurting and activities of !
But nothing could stop the Thought Storms from raging into life. This triggered the . As far as recall, I got up to check the fridge and freezer doors, and the oven had not been left on, and then if the front door had been locked. Each trip was making the toes more painful! Thus even less chance of dropping off to sleep now! I elapid there, train to think of something I could concentrate on to avoid the Thought Storm messages. I made a story up, a comedy, with relative to me failures and Whoopsiedangleplops on it. The feet were now getting the attention of Colin Cramps! I think I might have been about to fall asleep, for the Thought Storms had gone offline in my brain. And I started sneezing hard and often. Of course, this set off , and I gave up any hopes of sleep, all together. I dare not take any more painkillers today… or yesterday as it is now.
23:55hrs: I shot awake with a new problem on my mind… I’d realised as I lay there, unable to sleep due to the Thought Storms, that I’d got the Morrison order coming at the same time as I should be at the Doctors surgery this morning! I tumbled my rhinoceros-like but wobbly body from the c1966 recliner and got the computer on to change the delivery time. But it would not let me! I tried their helpline… Helpline? Ha! An hour later, after going through the reasons available that I could use, but finding none about delivery time changes, I got to a message centre on their helpline…Helpline? Ha! I explain the reasons for my wanting to change the delivery time to later in the day, whichever suits them. I even told them of my dementia and being partially disabled, thinking it might spark a bit of compassion and help. Then, later on, I was so glad to see a message from them in the inbox. “How kind of them”, I thought. This is the message I got back:
In a mess now, just don’t know what will happen or what I can do?
Did the Health Checks. 04:20hrs now, I must get the ablutionisationing done next.
The Blood Pressure was in the Hyper Red One again. The pulse had shot up, likely due to my getting all het-up again over my damned cock-ups with the doctors’ appointments, then the food delivery from Morrison’s.
Started. The end hook came off of the shower curtain again, which meant to replace it; I’d need to go from the wet room through the hallway into the end room and get the step ladders. Through the hall, back into the wet room. Then risk an climbing up the steps, no doubt cutting my finger on the hook as door usual, then get safely through the climbing down the steps, and back through the hallway to the back room and replace the step ladders. Back to the wet room. I thought Sod that, not with the luck I’m having. The teggie-cleaning went okay. The shaving was a smidge ridden. So many cuts that I lost count of them. Nothing serious, though. I enjoyed the showering. It was Dizzy Dennis, Shaking-Shoulder-Shirley, free, and headbutting the panel. I wasn’t about to go into Smug-Mode… Oh no! I dried off without knocking anything off of the floor cabinets, no .
Started a new tube of Daktacort cream to use on Little Inchies Fungal Lesion. & .
Germoloided At least there was no pain from this, just blessed, cooling relief. These tubes are now £6.50 each at Sainsbury’s. Humph!
Phorpain gelled both knees and then rubbed some into and around the ball joint.
Despite the cadaver colouring of my lower limbs, which I can worry about at a later date. (Well, maybe) The ulcers were the calmest they’ve been for years. And, the bloating had all gone now. Oh, and not a lot of bother from Peripheral Pete’s leg dances or any involuntary Hitler salutes either. So that was good!
Got dressed and went into the kitchen to make the first brew of tea, Thompson’s Punjana. I tried a different setting on the Lumix this time. Hand Held Night. I was not overly impressed. The screen said it takes several shots together to reduce blurring. Mmm?
All done. Now to get the things I’ll need into the pockets of the jackets.
No Carer had called. So down to the lobby for the EasyLink bus. It did not show up. I waited half an hour. Had a good look outside in case they had gone to the wrong flats block.
Back up to the flat. Morrison food arrived. I got it put away, put away.
Phoned Meridian about medications they are sorting. Scary! Nothing happened, of course. Stripped of the outer clothing and tried to relax a bit. Put Deana’s flowers in the sink.
Rang EasyLink. They said the bus was due at 10:00hrs.
I had to rush around getting the clothing back on again to get down again in time. I went through the link walk to see if Deana might be there, but she was busy elsewhere, on her own again. I got out and to the waiting driver just as he was about to give up on me. But he was a little early, bless him.
Got to the doctor in plenty of time. Went in and to the reception. It seems that I didn’t have an appointment today! What? Dr Vindla came to me as I was seated, waiting for a decision on what to do about me. She said she’ll do my flu jab, and took me into her room and did just that for me. Her lips curled, and a smile partly broke out as she stuck the hypo in my arm, sending me to the reception, saying I will be given another appointment for the Severe Frailty Checks. (The brilliant bit of this is that Nurse Nicole is giving the test! ♥♥♥ Yippee! Thus, I was given a fourth appointment (since August) for the Frailty Test! For Thursday 6th October at 09:00hrs. What are the odds of it being changed again after I’ve arranged with EasyLink for a lift? Cragknangles! I put the date and time on Google Calendar when I got back to the flat. Getting there was delayed by Lidl and my Shopaholic tendencies!
I walked to the Carrington Pharmacy. And bought a tube of Germoloid without really thinking. It cost me £7.49!
Then hobbled to the Lidl store, where I got carried away a smidgeon, buying enough stuff to fill a large carrier bag. Getting on the first bus was a battle; it was crammed with passengers, and I struggled with the trolley walker and the bag of food. Dropped off in Sherwood, and I limped over to the bus stop to catch the 40 bus up the hill to the flats. Got inside and managed to catch poor overworked Deana. Still on her own. She said she’s ring EasyLink for me about the lift tomorrow. Not heard anything yet, but still hoping to get lifted.
It looked a little healthier with the Morrisons and now the Aldi stuff in the fridge. Is that the right word? I’ve decided tonight to have the Frikadellen and sliced potatoes, with some tomatoes for the meal. It really is years since I’ve had these, back in the days before they even made Veggie-Frikadellens.
Phoned Meridian about medications they are still sorting, getting medications for eight hours ago sorted.
Esther turned up. I gave her an intimidating look that I could muster. (It didn’t work) and asked outright; How much will you be charging this week after helping yourself to my drinks and charging me £20 last week, because I’m short on funds! “Nothing!” she lied! Later she moaned about the machines being broken down and how long it took her to get the washing done and mentioned a fiver. So, I gave her all the change I could find, only £4.70. Later she went through my pockets and found some odd coins – Cheeky-Poo! So I gave her the 30p I was short, and a penny extra! Hahaha!
The New Meridian lady came up to see me for a chat. Nice patient, gal. She took the flowers down with her for Deana. Can I remember her name? No! Which is surprising for an educated young man like me. Ahem!
I was showing interest in kicking off. She has been known to throw a few mini-shakes for an hour, not often – but then the barm-storming ball-joint-wrenching shoulder shuddering starts in earnest. I can feel her warming up[ for one now!
The ticker rate was slowing down nicely. That’s the thing that worried me an iota. Was a bit of a pest still. Reflux Roger was giving me some sharp bursts of wind and some rapid outbursts of wind. Although they are now getting less frequent. Having a nice female in the flat is tantamount to taking CBD, you know? For me anyway!
Oh, I forgot to mention this morning’s after-shower session with Glenda. Will suffice!
I had a bottle of Morrison’s Raspberry & Blackberry Spring Water on the computer side. It was refreshing and is now about empty. The Roast Vegetable Risotto will do for tomorrow night. I’m going to dine well. In fact, I’ll get cooking now! I got the sliced potatoes seasoned and into the oven.
Then, fifteen minutes later, I got the Frikadellens in the microwave, and I cooked them for two minutes. Getting the potatoes out of the oven, as per usual, and I burnt my right thumb... Which was better than the left one. Cause of the Peripheral Neuropathy being on my right side, it was a painless experience! Hehehe! I think the neurotransmitters must have been out of touch at the time! Got the meal served up, and the only thing OI did not eat or enjoy trying to was the crap Morrisons substituted tasteless Danish bread; they did the same last week, but I gave that one away. I wish I had this one now! However, this meal attracted a Flavour-Rating of 8.9/10, all the same.
Sinead arrived as I was battling to stay awake to watch a ‘Heartbeat’ episode on Freeview. She was her usual caring self, bless her. Got the medication sorted and inquired what had gone wrong with the morning Carer, as no one had filled in or signed the log sheet? We had a natter, and I offered her one of the Special Mini Bottles I got from Aldi today. I thought they were dead cute, and Sinead agreed, alcohol-free Aperitivo Rosso. This gal has class; I can see that! ♥
Back to the TV after Sinead departed, I was brokenhearted.

05:30hrs: I stirred slowly back into imitation life. I had a desire for a mug of tea, a strong one. So this forced me out of the £300, second-hand bought nine years ago from the second-hand shop on Mansfield Road, Harold Haemorrhoid testing, repugnantly beige-coloured, crumb containing, virus-breeding, acne-giving, rickety, none-working recliner. Did the exercises and caught my balance, albeit not fully; I was a little wobbly doing to the kitchenette and got the kettle on.
Glad to see I had not left the hot water tap (faucet) running, no heat left on the stove, and had shut the fridge and geezer doors. The view outside was, to me, anyway, one of the prettiest for a long time. I decided to take some photographs. The Lumix battery was still charging, so I used the Fuji camera. A smidgeon disappointed with these shots compared to how they looked to my eyes – but then again, I have , and Achromatopsia Archie to contend with… the only excuse I could think of. Hahaha! I delayed making the brew, so I could get the done. A little higher than yesterday’s figures. Still in the Hypertension Red 1 zone, just but close to the Hypertension Red 2 zone. It seems my two-day sojourn into the amber zone has ended. SYS 157, DIA 71, Pulse 82. The body temperature at 35.8°f. That’s come down a fair bit; very nice!
I got the figures into the Excel graph and cut out the last few days to show the comparisons. The daily zones I’ve been in are looking too good, Six in the Reds but three in the light greens. So not so bad after all. Then I made a brew of J Sainsbury Extra-Strong Brown Label tea. Superb!
I got a waste bag made up and then went to get the ablutions done. No shaving, as I had one late last night, did I not? Yes, I did. Sounded the ♫Oh, Susana ♫ tune and came into the room. He was splitting the time between coughing and yawning this morning, poor bloke. I took a bag into the kitchen to get Richard’s treats packed up. As I got underneath the door frame, I collapsed on both knees! No dizziness nor Neuropathic leg dancing, and no idea what had caused it? Hit my head on the way down. And within moments, kicked off as well. It was a blessing that Richard was here when it happened. He got me back up and into a chair. The effects were, apart from Anne Gyna, not too bothersome. I took an extra painkiller, with the usual medications, and Phorpained both knees. The knees and head were soon cleared. It’s just that’s giving me hassle now.
Further…
① The flipping Lumix camera has stopped working again!
② The Fuji camera I left on this morning and the batteries are flat! Humph!
③ has started what must be a mammoth job. Not stop banging, tapping and clattering noises for bloody hours; he didn’t stop until around 17:00hrs!
④ My concentration was shot, and my anger and impatience grew!
⑤ kicked of with a fogginess never known. Is it not bad enough that had a tumble? , , and the cursed were making me miss shake and hitting wrong icons, which I could barely see anyway… my frustration and Herbert’s noise were really getting me uptight! Without the next cock-up:
⑥ I actually deleted all of the 80-40-0 icons from the computer! Permanently! I had to spend hours making new ones on CorelDraw, getting them on WordPress, and sizing each one of 32 tags individually before using them!
I am now going to stop computing and try to get something to eat. The evening carer is due anytime now – she or he will miss the pleasure of waking me up.
Fed-up. Peed off, in pain, struggling to see, and generally not feeling very good. If Herbert starts his noise again when I’m eating my food, I will be tempted to go up to the animal’s flat and have words, but I’m ready, through frustration and anger, to go a step further than words- which is a silly idea at my age. Of course, he may have had some carpet fitted or repair work carried out?
Well, blow me down with a feather duster! The Lumix us working again? This is baffling me. Then again, a lot of things do that nowadays!
Jenny called on the landline; the last of the glasshouse tomatoes had arrived, and she kindly said she’d pop some up doe me later on. ♥ Bless her. She’s so kind to me. Minutes later, burst from the door chime. Jenny had brought them up and left them outside the door. And they were super-duper tasty! She even skipped in a Cadbury creme egg for me. Hahaha! I made the meal; I sliced some tomatoes on a leaf-side tray. Just got down to eat it, and… Rang out! Got up and ventured to the door; it was neighbour Josie, bringing me some bananas as a thank you for her letting me down with the Sunday lunch. For the first time ever, she apologised for letting me know so late in the day. Bless her! I still ink her Sister is a bit of a bully towards her; what the Sister says, Josie does. I made light of it and asked if she enjoyed the reheated chilli. “Oh, it was lovely!” she replied. That cheered me up. I got down in the £300 second-hand, decrepit, Haemorrhoid Harold-testing, sleep deterring, nauseatingly beige-coloured, not-working recliner. And took the first forkful of the BBQ-flavoured rice, which was nice… , came in. She got the medications sorted, and we had a little natter and a laugh about something or other. Sam took her choice of drinkies and nibbles on her way out. I was going to get back to the now cold meal, but could not rely on me remembering to lock the door, so went and did that.
Tried again to get the meal eaten. I succeeded this time. Haha! Despite it being barely warm, I thoughourly enjoyed it.As I mentioned earlier, Jenny’s tomatoes tasted superb.
A Flavour Rating of 8.2/10 was given.
I put the emptied of all food tray on the Carers table and proceeded to watch an episode of Heartbeat on Channel 10 on Freeview. Ahhh!
Not that I’d had any sleep to wake up from, but I dropped some pluppets of wind, then moved into a position ready to free myself from the clutches of the second-hand, £300, c1968, overwhelmingly-sickeningly beige coloured, tatty, uncomfortable, wobbly-recliner. At this stage, I changed plans and made my way to the wet room for the. The was also needed a visit. I whipped down the sleeping slacks sharpishly, fearing a partially liquid evacuation. Splurge-splatter all over and done within seconds! Ah, now the teeth breaking… I mean cleaning and the potentially dangerous shaving to be done.
I wetted the chops and neck, then a good covering of shaving cream, and I was off. The blood flowed at the first glide of the four-blade razor down the chin! Several minor nicks followed, and one at the back of the neck that I could not get to see. So, after doing the teeth, breaking another lump out of the double molar, which also bled away! It was bleeding long after I’d finished the ablution and got dressed. I discovered that I’d torn the gum as well, but still, I managed to stop it in the end.
The only other ailment bothering me was . Very tender! Duodenal Donald and Anne Gyna were being sweethearts this morning. And Dizzy Dennis, , and the recent nuisance was nice and calm, too! Worrying innit?
I went to make a brew of Glengettie tea and took this photograph of the dark dank morning out there. To me, it looked nothing like on here when I viewed it on the viewer screen on the camera. Most disappointed in my efforts, I thought it would be much sharper?
Arrived. Richard was in the much better form today. We had a netter and chinwag. Seemed to go on for ages. I enjoyed us putting the world to rights. Hehehe! Took his lesser-filled treats bag with him, taking the waste bag with him. I think I mentioned something to him as he went down the lobby, and I have a feeling it was about something important, but I’m blown if I can remember what it was about now.
I got out the Boot’s Sphygmomanometer, manufactured by ZDEAC (Zhongshan Daguan Electrical Appliance Company Ltd) in Guangdong, China, out and working. And what a change in the figures today!
The up and down results continue. SYS 132 (lowest for a week!) The DIA was within range at 72. The pulse had, at last, come down to 87 after five says being in the red zone.
And the body temperature was the best for weeks, at 34.3°f!
.I put the new figures for today into the Excel graph. I wanted to get an average reading, but it’s so long since I’ve used Excel I wouldn’t remember how to do it. Can’t read the advice I found on the web; when I zoom in, it gets more blurred than ever.
It’s times like this, and the same as yesterday when I made a right mess with WordPress and nearly lost the day’s blog. That I wish the Cataract operation would come soon.
I pondered over the failed morning view taken earlier. I do a lot that, you know, pondering. Hehehe! Trying to think what I’d done wrong. Especially after last night’s decentish sun-setting shots.
You are forgiven for not believing what this photo was of that I took next… Tsk! Go on, have a guess. Haha! Yet again, it looked nothing like this disaster on the viewer screen? The red light shows, was the back of the Lumix, the charging of the battery light. Obviously, I took this with the Fuji camera. So that’s a mess I’ve made of a Lumix picture. And a disaster with the Fuji. Has the Cataract gotten worse? Am I going bonkers? Have I lost it altogether? Humph!
Just to put yet another dampener on things, I stood up to go and get the kettle on. Yes… Much pissed-offed language flowed, a few naughty words were uttered, and my mood dipped again, my interest in everything flailed, and depression dawned… not to mention the agony it left me in! It also pulled viciously at and her knee! I got a great dollop of Phorpain gel and rubbed it energetically all around the right knee. It did not ease the pain at all. So I took another Codeine.
Then, the same as the week before last, the instant fatigue come over me. I knew I just had to sit myself down and likely fall asleep. I had the forethought to make some rice for a meal, in case I’m in the land of nod for as many hours was last Thursday, or was it Wednesday? Luckily the rice can be cooked in the microwave, but of course, I can’t read for how long. Huh, then I remembered forgetting to ask Richard to read it this morning! I’m going to get the rice done and sat down. I’m not feeling very good at all now?
Made myself some rice, added mushrooms and a bit of BBQ sauce. The flavour rating, as best I recall, is 7/10. Then I flopped down in the c1968 recliner and, for hours, did my best to get some sleep. My body instructed me to. Nonetheless, I stayed awake. I did come close to nodding off a couple of times, but on the first occasion, started banging about upstairs and woke me. I think this is when I took these two photos? Not sure, though. But it was light, so must have been around then. Both of and from the balcony.
The next time I was about to find bliss with Sweet Morpheus, ♫ Oh, Susana ♫ burst from the door chime. Struggled up and to the door. It was Josie bringing the dishes and tray back from her Sunday lunch.
Finally… at last, around 18:00hrs, it was getting dark, and I actually drifted off to sleep! But moments later sprang awake with a jump. Unsure of why I had to get up to check the front door, intercom, mobile, and each room in case something had toppled over or similar. It gave me chance to unlock the front door before a carer arrived, at least. Nothing untoward or possible reason for whatever did wake me up with such a jolt and had my mind and body limbs threshing out.
Then minutes later, I was close again to joining Sweet Morpheus; and ♫ Oh, Susana ♫ burst from the door chime. It was the Sam arriving. Despite the rude awaking, I was glad to see Sam. Who dealt me the medications, and she closed the curtains for me. Choice of nibbles in thanks.
Sleep was still resistant, despite my body and mind begging for some. No idea when I did drop off into the land of nod, but when I woke up, I felt a lot easier and fresher. And with a frantic need of the Porcelain Throne!
Inchcock woke up this morning at 04:25hrs. No change to usual, he wanted, well needed, a weewee! And as usual, by the time he’d struggled with his balance exercises, he also needed to utilise the Porcelain Throne. He seemed all calm compared to how he was during last night’s series of Accifauxpas. He made his way, on his painful right knee, to the wet room, still half asleep. He woke up a little more as he entered through the door: Inchie walked into the door frame that had protesting violently, ensuring he was soon wide awake. He swore a little, gritted his teeth, and nearly spat in disgust at himself and Cataract Katie. Oh, that was in second-person style?
At least the evacuation was a lot easier and mushier, which I expected after taking the Galpharm by mistake for Co-Codamol last night. No bleeding or mess needed to be cleaned up. It took me a while to stop the shaving cuts from bleeding. And I decided to get the ablutions done while I was in the wet room. Did you see that? I made a decision! Then got some Phorpain rubbed into , and of course , no painkillers, cause with the problems these last few days, I’ve taken a few extras, and that is not good. After all, me being a famously handsome, sought after by women, brave, heroic sort of super-stud and intellectual, it would look bad if I couldn’t take a bit of pain.
I came out of the wet room without any further injuries and made a mug of Thompson’s Signature Blend tea. The sky’s colouration was so different this morning. Yesterday’s deep blues had been replaced with an odd mix of browns and blacks. Still beautiful all the same. Ah, Mother Nature! Now, take note if you please; It was approx’ 06:00hrs when I used the camera to take this delightful morning view. I did the sphygmomanometerisationing and luckily: very luckily, wrote down the figures to go on the excel record. And got the computer on to update and copy the graph, as shown here. Then put the figures onto the NHS DVT blood pressure assessment page on the web.
I was back up to the Hypertension 3 again! I did note that it was last Monday, the last time it was so high. I’m not sure if that means anything connected to my dislike of Sundays? I then realised I had forgotten to take a photo of the monitor and body temperature thermometer. Which, in turn, got me thinking, where is the camera anyway? Ah… in the kitchen, of course, that’s where I took the photo of the morning’s view… obvious, innit? But, No! I poddled into the kitchenette to get it. After about 15 minutes of failed searching, I was baffled, to say the least. Dementia Doreen filtered the thought into my brain: “Did you drop the camera when closing the window? Oh dearie me, surely not? This was enough to reinstate my Sherlockian investigations. But, still no success. So, the Hallway next. Nope! The junk room. Nope! The airing cupboard? Nope! Well, the dang thing must be somewhere! Hopefully, not 12 storeys down smashed on the pavement! Back into the computer room, another time-costing ferret around. But nope. if it was there, I could not find it. So, as of 17:00hrs, as is now, when I finally got around to doing this blog – the Lumix camera’s location remains a mystery. Hence my often used phrase: Such are the mysteries of Woodthorpe Court, with the ghosts, wraiths, spectres, cacodemons, apparitions, and other grotesqueries that haunt the hallways and lobbies, searching for Inchcock; to curse with bad luck, create ambiguities, abstrucities, perplexities, misfortunes and botherations, to scare. worry, scare and confuse me!. So, no photographs taken… apart from the morning skies one.
I was not feeling too good now and could have done without Herberts banging away. Still, it didn’t last for so long this time.
I got a call on the mobile and was impressed by the clarity of the new ring tone I’d chosen… But, could I find the mobile? Nope! Now my sanity was being questioned – worryingly by me! Sherlockian Mode adopted again, and I searched for the mobile; it had to be in this room, or I’d never have heard it. That helped, not having to search the whole flat again. Finding, after a lengthy hunt around, that it was in the coat hanging on the back of the chair I was sitting in at the computer created a smidgeon of ‘Feeling-Stupid’ in me. It was from Jenny, so I rang her back. She asked if I would like some tomatoes, I thanked her, and she said she’d bring them up later and drop them at the door after ringing the bell. ♥
I’ve come across a single word on one line in the scribble memory pad; it say’s ‘Paper’? I wish I knew what it meant. Tsk!
Jane and Pete posing for me – 2018
Sister Jane called on the landline to see if I was watching the Queen’s funeral. I ended up feeling so guilty when I said no. Two sentences from her stern voice, and I put the TV on to ease my guilt! Hehehe! We had a nice chinwag for a while, but she got a call from hubby Pete, and she rang off. Being as I’ve not taken any photos for hours and hours, mainly because I can’t without a camera – here is a photo I took earlier of Jane & Pete’s visit, behind the flats. August 2018, I believe.
At long last, I got the Sunday blog updated and as I was saving it ready to do a final grammar check. I got the shakes from i.e., , which are far more damaging than Shaking Shaun, cause they last so much longer each time, particularly when on the computer, as was the case here. The hand shot the mousse all over the screen. I had no idea what buttons I’d hit, but the whole blog disappeared. No longer in Post listings! I don’t know how I managed to avoid bursting into tears; it was a close thing, though. After trying various things and confirming it was not in the unpublished or published lists, my heart sank. All those lost hours, gone like a puff of smoke! I was out of ideas; surely, if I’d deleted it, WordPress would have asked me for confirmation? I turned off the computer, no longer interested; I was in despair, grief and misery.
Walked into the doorframe, cuts shaving, the camera lost, and now, the blog lost. As I felt myself sinking into a Dracula Depression, from somewhere deep within, I thought – hang-on mush, did you catch the delete button? So, without much hope, I got the computer back on and checked – There it was in the deleted file! I do believe I gave out a Whoop! Cause started his banging away, he must have heard me?
Thinking what a genius I am, I published the blog hastily and copied the web address to send by email to my multitude of followers, oh, yes, both of them! But: The address came up with ‘3-trashed’ in the title? I remembered to restore the deleted post, but am not sure if it got through? No likes of messages have come through on it? Depression falls again!
The Evening Carer is due anytime now; I’ll get something to eat then. Jodie rang and entered. The first thing she said was, “Oh, you’re topless!” I covered my man breasts with my hands, laughed and said, “Oh, sorry!” I put a jacket on straight away. Jodie did the medications, and we had a minute or two of nattering and laughing. I gave her Shepherd’s Pie meal that I forgot to give to Josie, and she seemed pleased with that. She took the waste bag with her on the way out. I locked the door, and I went into the wet room for a quick wash and do the . : I found the Lumix Camera!!! It was in with the PPs in the bag… How and why I should put it there in the first place; will have to remain a secret with Dementia Doreen forever!
Boy, I was tickled-pink at finding it! Following making a meal, which I rated for Taste-Rating at 6/10. Mushrooms with a drop of liquid smoke and vinegar added while cooking (not bad!), veggie sausages (tasty!), sliced tomatoes (tangy), and some of the terribly tasteless McCain crinkle-cut microwave chips. (I’ll use up what I have left but not get these again). A pot of Del Monte mandarins in orange jelly, it was so bitter, irony-flavoured, my first and last time I try these as well.
.Washed the pots, and for the rest of the night, I kept nipping out to the kitchen to take shots of the sun setting, and I was relatively pleased with some of the shots.
My body and mind told me to get to sleep, and Sweet Morpheus refused the request! But this time, it didn’t matter so much; Being overjoyed but felt stupid for losing it and over the moon at finding the Lumix. I couldn’t stop myself from repeatedly getting up and taking the changing photos of the evening view from the kitchenette window. Rather, unfortunately, I’d gone into a smug mode over finding the Lumix and taking a few decent shots with it. After taking the last picture, I got a , against the cabinet door corner as I moved away from the window. Naturally, I just light-heartedly laughed it off… No, no swearing, cursing, spitting, moaning, self-disgust, or growling under my breath.
I spent far too long fling the flat checks tonight. Many things had to be checked several times to convince myself that they were done right; Both sink taps were well checked, numerically. And the oven not being left on checks were done twice. Tsk!
But, Sweet Morpheus denied my dropping off to sleep. Then the Thought Storms arrived, and they were so bad this time. But, a sort of salvation saved me from the anguish, worries and fears: Colin cramps attacked, and this took away my concerns over the Thought Storms – and replaced them with agony! Both hands, left-hand fingers, and the left leg took the brunt of his onslaught. It’s still sore now, nine hours later. The right knee feels a bit delicate too. Haha!
Inchcock Blames the new medications for this Ode. They are called Talimogene Laherparepvec. He hopes he will never have to ask for any. How are you supposed to Pronounce it? Hehehe! – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Having to boil kettles and saucepans cause the hot water is not hot. And the shakes and dizzies have been rampant! So no Diary as such, just bits I can recollect, and from a few scribbled unreadable notes. Sorry! Owing to many cock-ups and the camera not working for some unknown reason.
06:30hrs: I woke; it’d been another night of waking ups again. And I rose, dragging the superfluously elephantine-bellied body up on the poor feet, and caught my balance. And went to check if the hot water was hot yet. It wasn’t!
I mused over whether or not to have a shave in the lukewarm water… the usual decision-making routine. Humming and hawing, dilly-dallying and generally fence-sitting, procrastination took over. After last night’s mega-shaving nicks, I was dubious… but I went ahead again and had a stand-up wash & shave. Amazing how one can cut oneself so easily! Of course, during the shaving session, I had a and , which ensured that the blood flowed. The cold hop water did nothing to stop it from flowing. So I had an expensive Brute splashing session that did the trick, temporarily.
Off to the kitchen, intending to make a brew of Thompson’s Punjana tea. I got sidetracked by the moon that was still trying to get through. Took the wide shot and then tried to get a decent zoomed-in picture. So, you can see, I didn’t exactly do a good job of it. Humph! No sooner had I zoomed in; guess who paid me another visit?
I got the waste bags made up, only two this morning for Richard; if he comes, it should be. I got his treats, and thank-you bag made up, all bar the fresh stuff in the fridge.
Next, I got the done. Another giant leap for mankind! Hehehe! Terrible results! SYS shot up to 173, DIA a massive 146, and even the Pulse was an astronomical 98!!!
Not good, is it? Can’t wait until tomorrow to see if it’s back down again. I mentioned these fluctuating results to the Doctor last week – I didn’t even get an answer, scoff or tut from her? Yet Sunday’s figures were marvellous?
I got on the computer and got myself in a double mess at the same time, more or less. First, the photo reader was toying with me, but I kept all calm and went through the usual routine to try and get it working again. I’m so proud of myself; for making and keeping a list of what I tried last time, and I kept it handy in the left-hand drawer! As I was working my way through the actions to try… I realised that I must have scratched at the chin, and the blood was flowing again. Nothing like badly, just little streaks, but it took me ages and about ten sheets of kitchen towel and £3 worth of Brut to get it to stop! I know this is impossible, but I thought I heard laughing; hehe!
The morning Carer arrived, it was No-Yawning-Richard. He looked a lot better in himself today. I think it’s because it is his first day back after his break in shifts. He noticed the bloody tissues in the waste bucket. I informed the lad of the hot water being off for three days. Richard got onto the phone and reported Nottingham City Homes Maintenance of the problem without messing about. Told me they would be coming sometime today. Bless him. None of the other carers does that for me. So glad I gave him an extra big bag of nibbles and drinks now! He looked at the blood pressure, He didn’t do a wristlet alarm battery check, but last week if I recall, he did it on a Wednesday. He’ll not forget to. He’s a good lad, and seeing him more like himself was a pleasure.
After I’d bade Richard farewell and all the best, I returned to the computer. But not for long. Carol rang; she wanted to do the laundry. Lovely! The poor gal has been covering for Esther. Who decided to stay two more weeks on her holiday in South Africa, leaving poor Carol in a quandary. He thought she was away for three weeks, and she made plans of her own. Now she is struggling to get the washing done for everyone. Bless her.
Then, a memory blank fell over me. No more notes on the memory pad. I had to check on WordPress to see if I’d finished and sent off the Sunday post. Luckily I had! I think I lost about four or five hours. Not sure if any plumber had called?
Sort of came back to mock-life, and I was working on words for the Ode. So I carried on. I went to make a brew and found a cold pored mug of tea next to the kettle. I wonder when I made that? No milk it, stone cold! Also, a packet of BBQ rice was on the counter, and the oven was on… nothing in it! I got on and started this blog so late it was well into the afternoon; in fact, it was almost evening! Kicked off, and I’m nearly out of Peptac now. Not that it is any good, just better than nothing.
Jodie arrived. Again she came in without pressing the chime and came right up behind me as I was concentrating on the computer. She’ll give me a heart attack one day! I asked if Jodie could press the button before coming in (again). But all it got was a smile! Hehe! Still, She’s not a bad gal. I remembered the chocolate mints I’d been meaning to give her since last Friday. Got the medications given to me, and she was soon off.
Aha, the intercom lit up. Twas, the plumber from Nottingham City Homes Maintenance. He looked around and told me the additional switch in the airing cupboard had been turned off. Probably the Friday plumber who solved the leaking tap turned it off for some reason? Cause I’ve had no hot water since Saturday? He assured me that it would start getting hot after ten PM. GrrreatI Gave him a choice of thank you treats, and off he went!
I carried on with the blogging. At about half-passed ten, I checked the hot water situation. Still cold. I must be patient. I got the roast veg risotto in the oven and will add the microwave BBQ-flavoured rice later. Then when both are ready, put them in a dish and add some vegan BBQ sauce. After eating it, I’ll test the hot water again. Please be working!
Got the nosh sorted out. As planned, the BBQ-flavoured Ben’s rice and roast vegetable risotto. Some mini-tomatoes. A diddly pot of lemon mousse for afters. This was the meal of the year up to now! Fantastic flavour! Taste: 9.3/10!
Went to check on the hot water. It was still only lukewarm! . How disappointing! I think I may have sworn a little under my breath in frustration.
07:10hrs: Yet another night of jumping awake and waiting to nod off again. So much so that on waking up proper, around 05:00hrs, I drifted off unintentionally until 07:10hrs. Sweet Morpheus was not kind to me last night at all. I feared that the Carer might have called earlier, but he/she could not get in. Especially if it was an annoying one who refused to press the doorbell. I always hear that, and it never fails to wake me up if asleep, and it had not done that. I caught my balance and hobbled to unlock the front door. But it was not locked! So was pretty sure that they would have walked in anyway. Being up late, I started to prep Josies veg for her chilli-con-carne meal. Got them on the boil and added them to the saucepan. Got the sorted out. A nice looking set of returns this time. SIA dropped to 138. DIA down to 61, Pulse up but not a lot, to 78. Put the figures into the CP analyser and got this returned.Great, I’m back just in the amber! In the High-Normal Zone.
My noisy Neighbour above, Herbert, sounded off, with a different style of sound today. A chug-chugging for a few minutes, then a loud thud. Then silence… Dang sang dang, Dang! Oh, I do hope he’s not hurt himself; you know, dropped a steam engine on his foot and is laying there in absolute agony as the hot steam burns its way through his clothing and into his lower regions. I considered going up to ask if he was alright, just for a laugh.
Off to make my first brew of Glengettie Welsh tea. And I thought (I do that occasionally), Blimey, it’s dark out there!
I temporarily lifted the glasses from my nose to reveal the right view, although blurred from the window – it was foggy, to say the least. The first photo was taken straight ahead. The second one of straight down n from the window of the Chestnut Drive car park.A good job I was using the grab strap on my wrist. Cause I dropped the Lumix, but it didn’t get away from me; the strap held it. Then went out on the balcony and took this picture. Not that there is much to see other than fog. Hehe!
I went through to the kitchen and checked on Josie’s food progress. Looking good and tasting good too! I reckon the basil helped today. Just hope Josie likes it.
I went on the blogging duties then and got involved with the Ode Words list again. An hour or two was lost there. Tsk!I reluctantly had to force myself to stop.
Got the meal delivered to Josie. Who did not mention Betty Bunter today? But did ask me for the umpteenth time if I drink the gin etc. I said no. She added: Whyever do you buy it then? I did mention this time; For the pleasure of sharing and caring, Josie. I got a furrowed brow and an odd sort of ‘He’s nuts!’ look. Hehe!
Then I set about cleaning up the kitchen… and the hot water tap was running cold! So, no shaving for me today… unless it comes back on. Then the fear that I may have left the tap running in the wet room came over me… The old ticker was beating as I hurried into the wet room – but all was okay in there! Phew! Back to cleaning the kitchen, which was a bit risky, Accifauxpas-wise. Boiling kettles and saucepans of water so I could clean up was done carefully. and slowly to avoid any spillages.
I’d filled another waste bag already, so took it to the chute room. I used a photo from the last time I did this. (Cause I didn’t take the camera with me) It’s getting a regular habit. Dropped the posh-looking collapsible stick, bent down to retrieve it, and hit my head in the cast-iron chute lid. I merely laughed off the pained head, right knee and my feeling a pratt. And skipped back to the flat yodelling.
I got the Porcelain Throne activities done and checked the knee and head the ankle was suddenly stinging. Rubbed some Phorpain gel in the knee, and spot of Germolene on the back of the head, and some Arnica cream on the ankle. I think I got these the wrong way around? The ankles and feet looked pretty good.
Time to get my own nosh now. Apart from undercooking the veggie burger, overcooking the chips (fries), and the Heinz bean-filled potato croquettes, well; I broke another tooth eating a chip. The undercooked burger gave me the wind and runs. As for the bean-filled potato croquettes, Never again! I still have four of them left in the freezer, so if anyone fancies them and has a liking for eating cardboard, please come and help yourself. But, be warned, a taste rating of 1⅛/10 was given. Mostly mayhap to my lack of culinary skills, though? Guilty!
Went to get the pots washed, but the hot water was barely warm again. Hell of a dangerous job having to heat water in the kettle and saucepan to use. And how do I go on in trying to shave? I’d assumed the water would get heated again by now, but no! I didn’t shave yesterday, so must do it tonight somehow.
Cassie woke me up. I was deep in sleep and dreaming. Of a cyber-friend, Billum. He was at a laptop using a slide rule and kept cutting his finger? Cassie got the medications done and was keen to get away, not that she rushed anything, oh no. She asked if anything else was needed as she approached the inner door. There wasn’t. and I offered her a choice of drinks and nibbles. She only took a Tango drink… I think. Took the waste gag out with her, bless her cotton socks.
I decided to get a stand-up wash and shave and just make the best of shaving carefully. I should not have risked it, really. The water was barely warm still, and each time I refilled the sink, it seemed to be getting colder. When the water was really hot, as it has been for months now,if, or rather when I cut myself shaving, the hot water kept the bleeding down to a minimum. But not today, oh no! I stopped shaving, deciding that the hot water must surely be hot by the morning, and I have the shave then.
I settled to watch a programme on remembering the Twin Towers. But drifted off at the first set of commercials.
