COST OF LIVING CARTOON
The early morning view was most pretty, so I fetched the Lumix to take a photograph of it. I went back to the computer to collect the camera, back to the kitchen and took this picture on the left, and realised that the toes and feet felt a lot easier this morning. Good!
The rain started again.
I started sorting out the template for this blog, and I was so disappointed when
WP Comments.
We had a natter and a moan after he’s done the alarm wristlet check and got the medications given. Then, Richard explained why the Goose Fair burgers were so high in price – he said they were ginormous! Nice to see him so unexpectedly. It cheered me up. I gave Rich his bag of teats from yesterday. He pointed out how little I had in the fridge.
I spent hours trying to get started on this blog. But it was hard-slog cause the concentration had crumbled again, and the eyes made it an error-ridden effort.
I made an order for Iceland on Saturday. Then one for Morrisons through Amazon, which reminded me I’ve got the belts coming from them today. But the estimated time was late; 17:00 > 21:00hrs.
Bloody Marvellous!
I changed the Warfarin list on the Carers folder.
I am now completely confused. I’m not really surprised about this!
Aha! The Liberty-Global Virgin Media Internet came back on.
But talk about slow! Never known it so slow as this, then…
Now all I need to do is not hear the intercom when they arrive; if they arrive – Oh, dear, sorry I said that! Well, fancy that, the rains falling again. Argh!!! Got to do something important? Or, I think I have forgotten something… Oh dearie me! I’ve all het up with everything happening at the same time, so there must be a decent chance that I’ve misheard or misunderstood something?
Got the goods put away. Josie rang the chime to give me some gigantic bananas. I’ve asked her not to gift me food I cannot eat so many times, bless her. The diabetes course has told me motto eat bananas, but I do have them when I can get mini-ones.
The belts from Amazon arrived. Two fit, just. The third I can gift to Carer Richard in the morning.
Carers Shannon and Sam arrived, both in good spirits.
Took these shots of the sunset period and then got the ablutions done.
It was not a good session.
Five little dicks shaving.
Bleeding away.
Gave me a few good shakings!
Cut gums teeth cleaning.
A session of agony, bleeding, and extreme effort was needed on my behalf to force the evacuating product to start its journey to freedom and the Nottingham sewers!
Bedded down. Shattered Mentally!
Worra Day!

03:40hrs: I bestirred, somewhat reluctantly, even though I had had a long but often interrupted total of six hours minimum asleep. The jerking awakes were
I made the balance moves and went up to the kitchen. Where I put on the kettle, took this photo of the morning view, which came out a little better for me this morning.
Then made a Glengettie brew.
Sphygmomanometerisationing revealed that the Blood Pressure came out in the Hypertension Red-High One, again. So at least it’s gone down from yesterday.
I don’t know why, but I sense that it will tumble again soon. My IQ told me so as I was taking a drink of Glengettie.
The body temperature had gone down a smidgeon as well.
The Heartbeat/pulse was still high, mind you. At 94 bpm.
It was the
Took the clothes I was going to wear in the wet room with me and set to the job in hand. Nasal clearing, teeth-cleaning, and then shaving. Only one cut again today.
I’d forgotten to get the hook on the curtain back on.
I must get them both back on today; it’s just that getting up on the stepladders to rebook them is a bit risky when I can’t see the holes or the steps on the ladder. It’ll be worse today, of the

I pressed on, got dressed, and took the clothes take off to the laundry bag.
I walked to the door, slipping her a small bottle of Rose, “Oh, I love Rosso”, she said. Which so cheered me up to please her.
Then back on the computer again. I’d noticed a lack of noise coming from
I’ll get some updating done on the words file, ah! No, I’ll order a belt from Amazon first. All done. Back to the word list and Word Hippo.
Sleep was resistant again. No idea what time I nodded off, but was in the morning. I was so fatigued as well, but Sweet Morpheus wasn’t having it. Humph and

The Messiest of Days!
23:55hrs:
I tried their helpline… Helpline? Ha! An hour later, after going through the reasons available that I could use, but finding none about delivery time changes, I got to a message centre on their helpline…Helpline? Ha! I explain the reasons for my wanting to change the delivery time to later in the day, whichever suits them. I even told them of my dementia and being partially disabled, thinking it might spark a bit of compassion and help. Then, later on, I was so glad to see a message from them in the inbox. “How kind of them”, I thought. This is the message I got back:
Did the Health Checks.
04:20hrs now, I must get the ablutionisationing done next.
The Blood Pressure was in the Hyper Red One again.
The pulse had shot up, likely due to my getting all het-up again over my damned cock-ups with the doctors’ appointments, then the food delivery from Morrison’s.
I enjoyed the showering. It was Dizzy Dennis, Shaking-Shoulder-Shirley, free, and headbutting the panel. I wasn’t about to go into Smug-Mode…
I dried off without knocking anything off of the floor cabinets, no
At least there was no pain from this, just blessed, cooling relief. These tubes are now £6.50 each at Sainsbury’s. Humph!
I tried a different setting on the Lumix this time. Hand Held Night. I was not overly impressed. The screen said it takes several shots together to reduce blurring. Mmm?
All done. Now to get the things I’ll need into the pockets of the jackets.
Dropped off in Sherwood, and I limped over to the bus stop to catch the 40 bus up the hill to the flats. Got inside and managed to catch poor overworked Deana. Still on her own. She said she’s ring EasyLink for me
It looked a little healthier with the Morrisons and now the Aldi stuff in the fridge. Is that the right word? I’ve decided tonight to have the Frikadellen and sliced potatoes, with some tomatoes for the meal. It really is years since I’ve had these, back in the days before they even made Veggie-Frikadellens.
Phoned Meridian about medications they are still sorting, getting medications for eight hours ago sorted.
Later she moaned about the machines being broken down and how long it took her to get the washing done and mentioned a fiver. So, I gave her all the change I could find, only £4.70. Later she went through my pockets and found some odd coins – Cheeky-Poo! So I gave her the 30p I was short, and a penny extra! Hahaha!
The New Meridian lady came up to see me for a chat. Nice patient, gal. She took the flowers down with her for Deana. Can I remember her name? No!
The ticker rate was slowing down nicely. That’s the thing that worried me an iota. Was a bit of a pest still. Reflux Roger was giving me some sharp bursts of wind and some rapid outbursts of wind. Although they are now getting less frequent. Having a nice female in the flat is tantamount to taking CBD, you know? For me anyway!
Then, fifteen minutes later, I got the Frikadellens in the microwave, and I cooked them for two minutes. Getting the potatoes out of the oven, as per usual,
However, this meal attracted a Flavour-Rating of 8.9/10, all the same.
We had a natter, and I offered her one of the Special Mini Bottles I got from Aldi today. I thought they were dead cute, and Sinead agreed, alcohol-free Aperitivo Rosso. This gal has class; I can see that! ♥
Back to the TV after Sinead departed, I was brokenhearted.
I fell asleep… Nice!
I’m pretty well known for my cunctation, vacillation, and tentativeness. I could starve to death when making up my mind about what to have to eat. Hehe! So, I changed to updating the Saturday blog… it took me four hours to get it completed. The same sad old trait; I couldn’t stop adding things as I recalled them that I couldn’t remember yesterday. Tsk! Got it posted and started on the first of today’s little odes.
But not for long.
sphygmomanometer first.
The SYS was a dangerously high 162. However, the DIA was well down from yesterday at 74. The Pulse was a reasonable 76, and body temperature
The BP analyser showed that the figure was down a lot via yesterday’s top edge in Hypertension One… which was just as well; cause had it been up, I wouldn’t have been here to waffle on about it.
I went back to the computer but forgot I’d made a start on the Ode and started making the political graphic of Liz at the top of this page.
I’m not going to bother with any more photos until the Lumix has fully charged. The first two pictures were embarrassing enough.
I changed again and got the Friday blog finished when I realised I’d not posted it yet.
But there was still a silver lining. Oh, yes! The veg-risotto and potatoes were still in their wrapper, so the food was rescued. Hahaha! A smidge shook up now. Well, I haven’t had a tumble since Tuesday, and I was getting a smidge overconfident, methinks?
While resting for a while, I made some more odes, parts two and three:
After doing these, I still felt a little groggy, so got something to eat and settled in the second-hand, £300, c1968, overwhelmingly-sickeningly beige coloured, tatty, uncomfortable, wobbly-recliner.
I kept waking up, as per normal, but there was no inspiration nor desire to get up again. So I kipped woke – kipped and woke for another few hours, still no interest in getting up.
I cleaned up, changed PP’d, and refreshed the NNWB, now being used in the daytime, and got my ponderously cumbrous, over-weight, massive-bellied body down on the recliner again. And I was soon kipping again.
Aha, thought I, I’ll check the Carers register. Nope, no one had been.
A flipping good job I didn’t phone them, innit?
Back on the computer or the last Ode making.
On to CorelDraw to make some tabs up.
Then made a J Sainsbury order for next Tuesday.
A final of the day photograph of the evening sky.
Oh, it’s morning!
Or is it night in America?

03:30hrs: Wee-wee searched for reading glasses. Struggled to get some WP comments answered.
Lost without the internet,,, So pottered about in the kitchen, sorting the cupboards out… well, moving stuff about, I wanted to check use-by dates, of course, I couldn’t read them thanks to
Ah, well, all well with them.
SYS 150, DIA 79, Pulse 70 0r 78, I can’t make the number out, Humph! Cataract Cathy!
Body temperature was 33.5°f, okay.
Then I tried the computer again,
I spent hours getting nowhere; well, I did get somewhere – in a muddle!
I seem to have scribbled on the notepad; ‘Snabbled our BG?’ I bet my
I’m back.
I tried the internet again, thanks to Mr Fries, it was on again! For about ten minutes, then:
Leaking bangs where the ice pack had broken, ready bruised bananas again!
And the bloke wasn’t too keen on bringing them up to the flat.
Service seems to be a thing of the past nowadays.
He did bring them up eventually,
Certainly earning his money is Liberty-Global, Virgin Media money-man Fries. His smoke and mirrors, thaumaturgy, and number-crunching in other parts of Liberty-Global must surely be paying his wages. For he is sadly lacking in knowing anything about customer satisfaction or how to run an internet providing service… service? Hah!
I got some progress done on the Snippets blog and had to stop and sit down… well, make a meal first, of course.
Got into the right state of affairs, getting the meal sorted out and served up.
Plus, the joy of falling asleep!
I must have had a decent kip cause the next thing I remember was two carers in the room pottering around. A none buzzer-presser. That Or I didn’t hear it or, of course. Sam and Joanne, I think it was. Tablet issued. We did have a little natter, but what about is beyond me. Treats were chosen, and I went to the door with them to lock it.
But No!,
I did get some p[hotographicalisationg done from the kitchenette window.
The beauty of the sun setting, I could not resist taking,
The second one is straight ahead,
and the third slightly to the right.
Bootiful.
Then got the pots washed up and had a wee-wee; not have many of those today; what a nice change. Then I stubbed my toe, not a bad one!
My plan for getting caught up on the blogging was abandoned – in favour of getting back to sleep,
Which I did rapidly, back into another dream-filled kip for two hours or so. Then needing another wee-wee, then feeling guilty for not doing the blog, it was back in the recliner again for even more time with Sweet Morpheus. So annoying that I could not recall what the dreams entailed.
Starting with possibly the worst ever…
Ode wot I’ve ever wrote!
Now Today’s Funny Cartoon
But, Sweet Morpheus was not interested. After a few curse words, I again rose from the depth of the dusty chair and immediately got on with updating this blog… well, no, starting this blog template! After a few hours of failures, mistakes and getting all worked up and agitated, followed by Anne Gyna kicked off, and she had not stopped all day. Even now, 20 hrs later, she’s still at it, and I’ve used all the Peptac medicine! Again. Then, the worst thing that could have given me more grief happened…
Right pee’d off, Which didn’t help Anne Gyna a bit! The Peripheral Neuropathy ailments were on and off all day as well. The little fingers… Oh, I don’t think I’ve mentioned it yet. Now the left little digit has joined the right one in trying to wrap themselves around the other fingers. No pain with it! But try typing when the bambino’s fingers are sticking out or in all the time. It takes me so long to get anything done; the eyes are getting worse. And try picking your nose with wayward do-as-they-like digits… I got one stuck up my nose earlier, and then one nearly poked myself in the eye! Cooking and making tea can be a challenge, but the most annoying is the computer keyboard. With the Nicodemus’ Neurotransmitters going offline at any time, one cannot feel a sense of touch when they do. So no doubt the CorelDraw problems could be due to this? It got much worse late when
SYS 150, DIA 67, Pulse 67, and temperature at 33.4°f. Which I
But the NHS site I put the figures in, still had me in the red zone again. Still, it was only just in it. I was more concerned with getting the blog done than with these results. As soon as the BP was done, I got onto the computer and rebooted it. Guess what? Fries strikes yet again!
You know, how some people really get to you? It used to be Tony Blair with me years ago… but not now. Now it’s Mr Fires of Liberty-Global, who convinced his bosses to pay $15 billion to buy out Virgin Media from Mr Branson. There have been glitches and or internet cut-outs every single week since, for years. How does the man keep his job?
I suppose his knowledge of what the smoke and mirrors, money-manipulating Liberty-Global have been up to with all their financial figure-shuffling and chicanery is stopping them from getting rid of him? I read in the financial press that apart from the £24m salary, he gets shares in the company and an expense account.
I forgot to mention, earlier, the sky had changed dramatically, and while pottering about, I took these rather astounding photos, well, no. The view I took the photographs of was the astounding thing about it.
I can’t remember when I took them
The intercom went off while I was in the kitchen, so I heard it. Went to investigate, and it was an Amazon delivery man. When he asked if I was coming down to collect it, his tone of voice and attitude left me in no doubt he was never going to bring it up! Git!
So, I had to get the slippers on, a time-consuming job in my condition and went to the door to go down. And Carol was approaching the door with the package. Now that was really kind of her. ♥
At last, Liberty-Global, Virgin Media, Fries, internet came back on. I’d been doing some word collation while I was waiting,
The landline flashed into life it was Jillie Cartwright; bless her. We had a natter, but I could not hear everything the gal said. I think, nae, hope, she’s popping in to see me tomorrow. ♥
I spent the next six hours on this blog and was shattered. All the usual time-costing cock-ups! And by 02:00hrs in the morning, I am still working on it! But had to give up when the evening carers called. The gals did me, selected their treats, and I got on with doing more of this blog… for another four hours!
Had to stop around 05:00hrs, try to get this done and posted and get something to eat before the Carer called.
The photos I took of the sunset tonight, I’ll try to get them in tomorrow’s blog. But it’s the diabetes meeting, and I have to… Oh, you fool Inchcock – it’s Thursday now, not Friday! Oh, dear!

Forgive my hatred of the murderers on the Parole Board…
My confidence in them will never be restored,
Are they under the thumb of a drug or gang lord?
Are they permanently pissed, schnockered?
Cause freeing murderers all the time, I’m shocked!
Freeing to kill again, this should have been stopped.
Parole Board? More like a smorgasbord!
When they go on holiday, wherever their boat is moored…
I wouldn’t mind if they fall overboard in the fjord!

Yet folk carry on as if they have no fear?
To me, this all seems odd and queer,
The world going ever crazier…
Chanced for man’s survival, is doubtfuller,
Going outdoors has never been dicier!

Police Inspector: ““I am pleased we have now charged a suspect in connection with this offence and would like to thank all of the officers involved for their quick response and determination.” Why are they not normally responsive or determined, then? More police on the beat might have been a better option. Ah, the cost… I see! I’ll try to visit the lady in the hospital and explain it to her.

Well, at least he chose the dearest supermarket firm to rob. I suppose they have been robbing us, certainly me, with all their ridiculous increases in prices. Now they send me a Coupon – to save £30 on my next online shopping. But I’ll have to spend not the usual $40, but £80! to get it. Bearing in mind that there will be a delivery charge if you spend below…
So, if they have, and they always have any products unavailable, then the saving will not apply. Also, last week, the limit permitted to buy on some lines had: Spring water – One. Freshly sliced potatoes – One. Five unavailables, three substitutions. But it doesn’t bother me in the slightest!

Like yesterday’s mind-blank in Bulwell, I think I lost about half an hour of memory. How could I walk all that way to the Poundland Shop without my recalling anything about it?
The worrying bit about this one was when I sort of realised where I was, in the shop, with some products already picked and put into the three-wheeler trolley basket; I didn’t panic at all. I seemed to feel lucky I wasn’t mugged or been run over.
Disgustingly, I felt sorry for myself and sulked with the frustration of it all. It was immediately after my departure that the mind-blank occurred. This may be part of the causes of the blanks. I don’t get them often, but each time previously, they worried me. But this time, I just accepted the situation. I started fretting, later on, mind. Hehehe! I hope someone reads this who knows me, and friends and family… no, both of them, maybe then they’ll understand my situation better. The guilt at my self-centred actions is still fresh in my mind – I see that Dementia Doreen has not stolen that memory… Bitch!
There are bound to have been people in that room with worse ailments than I have, but all I could think of were mine. I intend to make some amends at the next meeting, and be upfront, and tell Nathanial about my needing to be facing any talker, even with the hearing aids in, and not facing any light or sunshine, to give my one semi-good eye a chance. And importantly, to apologise to the others for ruining their meeting. If they accept me back, this must be done.
Waffled on a bit there, didn’t I? Sorry!
SYS 151, DIA 67 Pulse 72 (Down a smidgeon) Body Temperature, 34.3°f, excellent.
The room temperature was 81°f, and the outside one from the web information was 85f. Another warm one?
This on the left is the message I got back from the NHS about the test results. I offered a few comments on their comments and suggested recommendations and actions to take to lower the BP.
Got yesterday’s blog completed; it took a few hours. Posted it off, and I sent the email links. Went to make a brew of Glengettie, and ♫Oh, Susana♫ chimed out.
Gorrit took a photo of it, and here it is on the left.
I think the Nicodemus’s Neurotransmitters must have been offline when I wrote some of these notes, comical reminders.
Seems like a lot looking at the boxes, but they weighed very little, apart from one.
The delightful chocolate walnuts and white yoghourt cashews were a real treat for me.
The extra unique trial crisps of a sort I looked forward to trying with a certain relishness! Seaweed crisps and Shitakka dried mushroom crisps! I shall report on them after I’ve tried them. (Lower down) Cleared away the boxes to the waste chute and started making something to eat. Using the shortest use-by dates that I could read. Any I can’t read will have to be dished.
After Val left for another hour or so, I nodded again, then got up to tend to the blogging needs.
Morning All!
The body temperature was yet again, once more, within a point of the NHS figure, at 34.4°f.
Eventually, I found the sunglasses, hidden in plain view, not with other spectacles, but in the three-wheeled trolley walker basket. I’d even put them in a clear semi-see-through class case, so I would find them easily enough when I got things ready to go to the Riverside Centre. Ahem!
I’m afraid the last eight lines written on the remember-pad mean nothing to me. Utter twaddle, I wish I could make out what they were meant to say cause it must have been something emotional; judging by the state of the handwriting, I was uptight. Another Mystery!
Got the things in the trolley checked. Hearing aid batteries, sunglasses and a bottle of water were in there. I started to check the flat… Talk about
I met with the tutor, Nathanial, who gave me to another patient who got me up in the lift to the room on the first floor I needed.
The chap helping me was an Angel in disguise. He said to give him the money, and he would nip to the chemist in the building and get some batteries for me. I thanked him, gave him a fiver, and sat in silence, pretending to understand what was going off!
The man returned, giving me the fiver back. He’d got some from the Health Unit for me, bless him. Then, he fitted the new ones for me when he saw me struggling to see to get them in.
I gave out an involuntary loud verbal burst; “Ah, voices! I hear voices!” Which got a laugh, even a clap from someone I think I heard!
But things didn’t work out well after all that help from my fellow sufferers. For this reason alone, I intend to try and work something out that can help me hear better, so I can continue with the sessions.
The difficulties after getting the aids working, I must thank the two gents who helped me out before I forget to.
As Nathanial moved around between the ‘L’ shaped desks talking to us all, as he spoke in the other direction, I could not hear a word he was saying, and the sunshine rays made sure I couldn’t even see the chap. So it was farcical trying to take part.
The tutor was staying behind to give the two of us who missed the first lesson an update on the first. I can’t even see to read the booklets either.
Depression fell. And I said as kindly as I could, “I’m sorry, this is not working. I’ll have to go; thanks for trying”
I’m becoming an inept gibbering wreck here.
I suffered a mind-blank period once outside the building; when I realised that through my leaving early, I’d have a while to wait for the lift.
The next thing I recall is being in the Bulwell Pound shop, about 50 yards or so from the Riverside Centre. I became aware of this lapse, yet not too concerned at the time. I had in my thee0wheeler trolley basket some bird seed cakes. Obviously, I’d seen the birds on the banks of the river Lean across the road and thought I’d feed them and have a natter. So, I bought the sees and fed the birds. I had to rush a bit to get back to the centre in time for my lift!
In my mind, I thought, ‘good’, we can take a shorter route back, hopefully costing less. Hehe!
I suggested taking Highbury Vale, and we did. At a pedestrian crossing, we pulled up to have a birds-eye view of a bit of road rage. I didn’t see the incident that cause it. A bloke on an E-scooter, apparently with a girlfriend of wife on it with him, approached the car driver and kicked and thumped his vehicle. The Chap got out of his car, and fisticuff positions were adopted! The driver eventually got back in his car. The scooter man got his female in front of him on the E-scooter, then changed his mind and ran back to the car, thumping the windows again. The driver waved him away and drove off. E-scooter man should not have anyone else on the scooter with him anyway… should he? And it was a privately owned one that technically is not allowed on the public roads?
We got home, even with the altercation to gals us, a lot quicker than taking the £9 route we took to get to Bulwell.
The lady dropped me off in front of the entrance of the flats. Bless her. As she was helping me off of the bus, the mobile phone made a noise, I didn’t hear it but the driver did. She read it, a message “Feet Today!” I thanked the ‘Link’ driveress.
Apart from the cut toe, of course. A case of Chiropodists’ revenge?
Got onto the computer to make a start on this blog. Got the photos on first to use later in the gallery. The day had taken a lot out of me, and my eyes were drooping.
So I closed the computer down. The plan was to get something to eat, then after the Evening Carer has been, to get my head down and hopefully wake up and have time to start finishing this blog.
And it went down a treat! The taste rating given was 8,8/10!
Then I got my head down. Amazingly, I was soon off in the land of Nod. But will I wake up in time to get this blog done?
———————————–
I started talking to the evacuation product (I know, daft as a brush!). My faith was failing. Then I started wot think of the most ridiculous things, like, why have I never been interested in lepidoptery? Who’d have believed I’d end up with Doreen Dementia? Me! The calm one, the organizer, the carer…
Ah, blessed relief! I thought it would never free itself. Now to check on any damage done in the procedure!
The body temperature once again was as near to spot on that you wouldn’t notice the difference!
The intercom rang forth: Someone telling me that they had a delivery for me.
❶ But the release button, yet again, did not work to admit the chap. I tried a few times, then said I’ll come down to you.
❷
❸ Got down to the foyer, but no signs of anyone there.
❹ I assumed he had gotten on while I was faffing about to get down to him… Rushing again, I got the walking stick entangled in the lift elevator door.
❺
❻
I’d even bought some bonkers-costly Mushroom Risotto.
More flipping chips and potatoes, too! I’d even got some more bottles of spring and tonic water!
Just as I was calming down after giving myself a verbal blasting for being so stupid… the intercom burst into like again.
It was another delivery, Amazon. And the Doctor thinks I do not have Dementia ‘properly’? I hope she gets it right when I snuff it, and she has to decide if I’m properly dead or not! Hehehe!
Depression came over me.
No problem with this one. I remember ordering these. I think! No, I did, definitely. Positively. Oh, dearie me!.
The temperature outside reached 92°f.
.Which didn’t take me long to work out. Cause Cataract Cathy and Dementia Doreen made sure all of them needed some help. Some needed telephone calls; well, Deafness Duncan takes care of that.
Getting late now. Aha, ♫ Oh, Susan ♫ just sounded. It was evening
State of the feet before getting the ablutions done here on the left. Off belatedly, to the wet room.
Three days of growth of the beard took some shifting. Only a few nicks. The teeth were painful to clean. Showering went okay, no knocks, falls, or Dizzy Dennis visits. Many many dropsies, mind you. Turned off the shower and dried off.
Looking like they had been polished with Brasso or something of that ilk. Haha!
I settled in the £300, second-hand, c1968, charity shop-bought, eyesorely-horrendously, grungy coloured, haemorrhoid-testing, easily-falloutable of, not working, recliner. Put on a Dr Who DVD and was soon sleeping away like a baby – I wee’d myself overnight!
