07:00hrs: A second decent night’s kip for the old man, then. (It’s not often I can say that!) I thought it wise to wait for a little before getting excited; I’d not done the checks yet, and I didn’t want to bring it back to reality just yet for a while.
I went into the kitchenette, mainly to check on the taps, stove, fridge etc. to make sure I’d not left anything on that shouldn’t be. All Clear! So, a was duly adopted!
It was a foggy morning, not unlike those we used to get every November so many years ago. The memories flowed for a while. as I took these photographs! Not necessarily good recollections. But a few did sneak in. Got the Health checks done.
Pulse decent at 33.1°1f.
Sorry to say that the flipping Blood Pressure came out up in the Top Red area, Hypertension Three! But only just. Hehe!
The SYS was really high this time at Red-Risk 162.
The Dia was fine in the Amber zone.
The Pulse was creeping back up again at 78.
I just can’t understand why they have classed in the red-three zone. When three of the four are in the Amber zone? I expected to be well lower down on the scale. Mind you, the SYS was high. Came in. Got the medications sorted, and the lad was in a rush; I could sense it… his being so late told me that as well. He wanted his bed, and who could blame him. Talked him into trying a cold Starbuck Coffee for his thank-you treat. Be interesting to see what he say’s about it later next week. I bet Richard won’t take a coffee with Rum & Coke and his favourite, Pink Gin and lemon, being on offer. Hehe! He can have a coffee as well. I got the mince in the pan with the beans and added some flavourings.
I’m well known as a flavourings-adder, you know. Hehehe!
Then I got two large potatoes in the big saucepan on the boil, and I nipped back to the computer to get her started and begin updating the Saturday blog. I had to avoid getting distracted with blogging for fear of forgetting about Josie’s meal cooking.
Went back to check, and the potatoes were already done? It only seemed like ten minutes. But, of course, it was longer. As you can see in the photo here when it came to dicing the spuds ready to go in the oven to bake them crispy… This is how one potato turned out – Bad! So, not so many spuds in Josie’s meal today. Got the diced and olive-oil-sprayed spuds in the heated oven. Had a clean-up. And back to the computer. That is not blood on the paper towel. Oh, no! It’s probably jam or ketchup, something like that. As if a man of my calibre would cut his right index finger while slicing the spud, laughable. Did some work on the blog, mostly correcting errors made. Tsk! Bet I still missed no end of them!
Added spuds to the saucepan of chilli-stew, or whatever you want to call it. But after taking out approximately half of the stew and placing it into a separate lidded-tub This is Josie’s 2nd meal for Monday. She heats it up in her microwave. I try to make the two meals different for her. After taking out the Monday portion, I added some basil and BBQ to the first lot and stirred it up, warming it gently. No potatoes in the Monday one, either. I had 20-minutes or so on the blog and made up Josie’s tray.
I’d got carried away today… Just look at that pile of stew in the bowl for her. It might get her eating better, but it is bound to get me accused of trying to make her look like Betty Bunter. Now, for the less mature whippersnappers, these names will mean nothing. But to us kings growing up[ in the ’50s, they were previously revered. For they were in comics that we read. Possibly. In this photo, Betty’s name is Bessie Bunter, but later she became Betty; I don’t know why. It’s me mishearing what Josie was saying… I’ll have to check that later with her.
But she was for the girls, and for us lads, we had Billy Bunter. Two overweight kids that always seemed to get the better of their parents in the story we read. Hehehe! I think that Sister Jane was a fan of that comic. There was the Topper, Beezer, Beano, Dandy, Eagle & others. Not bad for a bloke who read his instructions from the nut-house hospital last night and can’t remember anything he read?
Note the changing times in the covers here? In those days, the girls were trained as domestics, not future wives. So, Billy gets excitement out in the woods with criminals, and Betty-Bessie battles the fight to get food in the house. Not a single person back then mentioned them being unhealthily overweight. Hahaha! I wondered off subject again there, didn’t I?
Back to the diary: I delivered the meals to Josie. I remembered taking the Lumix camera with me in my pocket, and I’d also got it in my bag! Every little victory, you know!
Josie was looking better today; bless her cotton socks. I’m not sure who is the more forgetful between us… but my guess would be it being even-stevens! Hehehe! The deafness we also share is just the same. She didn’t notice the over twice the usual amount of chillie-stew and the larger bowl I had to use to get it all in. About Gawd knows when… I got the Saturday blog posted off. Carer Carolynne arrived. We got the medications sorted and had a natter. (Well, I did!) Hehe! Forced treats in thanks on her. She took the waste bags with her as she left; with a smile.
Not in the flat, though. There was a fire in Basford or Sherwood area. I took these pictures of it. Much smoke varying from white to black and a few bursts of flames. Annoyingly, I could find nothing on the news or the internet about it.
These chronologically go from left to right as you go down.
.
Shame I couldn’t find them for a newspaper to use.
It’s 20:00hrs already! I’ll get something to eat, then my head down, I think. ♫ Food, Glorious Food ♫ Flavour-Rating 7.2/10. And I was surprised at how tasty the Adkins cobs were. The Asda Soya lemon yoghourt was its usual tasty treat.
I got ensconced in the aged, grotty-looking c1966 made, charity-shop-bought, horribly beige-coloured, £300, Harold’s Haemorrhoid-testing, non-operational, acne-giving, virus-breeding, rickety, easy-to-fall-out-of recliner.
Sleep came quickly tonight! But could I stay asleep? No! I woke up jouncingly, joltingly, or jarringly so often; it almost tired me out! Fair enough, I got back to sleep quickly enough, but minutes later (it seemed), I was once again twitchingly woken up!
Sweet Morpheus was playing with me once more…
Or, mayhap it was , continuing on her mission along with the other mysteries of Woodthorpe Court, with the hobgoblins, spectres, gnomai, phantasms, ghosts, the grotesque succubae, extraterrestrials, ectoplasms, spirits, or the Fata Morganas, that have been sent to taunt, irritate and terminate my already limited saneness of mind?
05:25hrs: I stirred back into a mock conscienceless and was immediately aware of the Doctors Frailty Test being at 09:00hrs. However, it was a total mind-blank when I tried to recall when the Easy-Link bus was due to arrive. So, I had to remove my behemoth-bellied body from the second-hand, £300, c1968, overwhelmingly-sickeningly beige coloured, tatty, uncomfortable, rickety-recliner, and get the computer on to check on the timing. Which was ETA 08:45hrs.
As I was putting the computer to sleep, I espied the yellow stick-it note on the front of the TV screen that said: ‘Easy-Link due at 08:45hrs!’ I decided the was needed first. After last night’s wash and brush-up debacle, I tackled the job with caution. There was no need to rush. And with an intent to avoid losing so much blood this time!
A bad start with the teggies. I think I must have torn the gums more than I thought last evening. A vast improvement on Wednesday’s session! Only two little nicks! ‘Head sways Smugly!’ Showering: Ah, well, yes, it had to come! It’s been ages since I’ve had leg dance anywhere, let alone in the shower. But an I had. Knocked my ankle and chin, and shoulder on the control box of the shower. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it was a vicious one, alright. Later, I noticed a mark on my nose; I’ve no idea how that happened? Apart from the usual treatment to the , which was the regulation prompting stingings. Everything else went well. A bit of a hiccup with the trousers I’d got the new belt on to wear. They were too long and wide and were not very warm. Still, I’ve got a lift each way, so that should not be too much of a problem.
I remembered to get the new belt out to give Richard, more his size than mine, with his treats. You can see the leather belt in this picture. You can see how long it is? Better for someone to use it than throw it away. Off course, it would have been ideal if someone idiot had not ordered the wrong size in the first place! Guilty! My arithmophobia is getting worse!
I started to get as many things needed, ready and to hand as possible and gathered them in one place so as not to forget to take them with me. Got the kettle on. I went to the main room and got the computer back on.
Rang out, and in walked Carer Richard. After giving me the medications, I asked him to fasten the Velcro fasteners on the shoes for me, which he did. Then I presented him with the belt and found it was a little long, even for Richard. But he held onto it; said he’d get some holes punched in it at the shop. He seemed to like it. Made up a bag of his other treats, and he had to shoot of, which gave me plenty of time to get prepared for the lift.
On the reminder notes, now made about eight-hours earlier, and I was working from, I spotted ‘Test-PUP’? Beats me what it means!
I went through the checks and ventured out and down in the lift to the ground floor. Went along to the ILC-Wardens office, finding Deana was in. I reminded her about the flowers up in the flat to collect later. I could have taken the flowers down but had she was not in, I’d have had to go back up to put the flowers back in the water, and that would mean a good chance of me missing the Easy-Link bus.
I hobbled through the link corridor through Winwood Court and into Woodthorpe Court. We’ve no shortages of notices, as you will have spotted here. Haha! One caught my eye. About the jazz band on Saturday 24:00 > 16:00hrs, playing in the main social room. I hope to go to listen to them… if I remember!
I popped my head (and camera) into the laundry room. What I saw bode not well. Clothes stacked on top of the washer, and the smell of cheap soap powder and alcohol… Ethel, no, Esther, was lurking in the building!
As I neared the front lobby door, I spotted the Easy-Link minibus passing to the right, do turn around to pick me up! Spot on time!
As I got outside, he was already pulling up at the curbside for me.
I mused over how much the trip would cost this time. It turned out to be £6, for two ways, so not bad at all. A nice chap; I’d not seen him before. Liked a natter en route, my sort of bloke. Said he would return to collect me at 09:40hrs. Thanked him, and I got into the surgery. I was instructed to take a seat… so I did.
THE SEVERE FRAILTY TEST:
After a while, Nurse Nichole came and called me into her room. I cannot say how pleased I was it was Nurse Nichole who was doing me on the day. An absolute pleasure, and she is a treasure! Nichole did the test via computer input. I think I did alright. But not sure. Although Nurse Nichole said she would have to rush after the test, she did listen to me tell her about my memory and the problems caused by it and my belief that I have a concern. My sight and hearing problems, Bless her! ♥ I did feel guilty afterwards, my pushing it. But I thought this was the only person who would understand? Shame facedly, I took a seat in the waiting room until the transport arrived. The young receptionist said she will keep an eye on the cameras and let me know when the bus arrived. Bless ’em all!
A lady sat next to me and got out her mobile. And I mentioned to her how complicated mobiles are nowadays. I showed her my Nokia. I got a lovely look from her that said, “Ah, the poor old thing!” And we started chatting away, which suited me to a tee! The receptionist girl told me that the bus was coming in. So, I bid farewell to the lady sitting next to me, and I ventured outside to the minibus.
The same driver picked me up. And we nattered en route back to the flats, which did not take very long, but it was nattering-filled, just perfect! Boosted me no end that did.
And, dread of dreads, in walked Esther! Never stopped talking, not that I could hear her anyway. Problems I gather with getting washing machines. Meant she was going through the cabinets and shelves pretending to clean. I’ve no idea if anything disappeared or not. Maybe a bottle of spring water?
Anyway, I upset her when she started going through my files and boxes when she opened one from Lisa-Petal. I told her, “That’s private!” “Not that it stops you searching through things, does it?” – “I didn’t know!” Then as she sulked, I got a minute or two of peace from her voice! But it didn’t last long. It’s just that it was the beautiful pink box Lisa-Petal sent me from America, with the family in it. Anyway, I think she charged me extra to get her own back. Tsk! I gave Esther a £20 note, she gave me a tenner back and told me I owed her £5.
At last, I could get on undisturbed and badgered with the blog updating. I’d been at it for about three hours; it was slow progress. Then, sounded. I found some tomatoes outside the door. Jenny had gifted me some more; bless her! I called her on the mobile to thank her. What a kind gal she is. I must take some drinkies down to her door. This reminds me of the English ladies’ football match tomorrow night if I can stay awake long enough to watch, and the Jazz-Band performance on Saturday. Looking forward to hearing them. (Again, if I remember!) Back to blogging again. Started kicking off! And she was in a nasty mood with me! I took an extra Codeine. And then, another cockup was performed by yours truly. I read the wrong leaflet with the magnifying glass. I thought it was the one for the Ramprilil capsules. Cause I can’t remember which of the medications is for . I did feel like a fool! Got the right one, but even with the glass, I could not read it. I looked on Google. Nitrates, but I don’t think I’ve got any of them on the prescriptions. A deeper search found that Beta Blockers are used as well… Ah, I’ve got some of them… dare I try taking an extra one now? Bugger it, I will!
The time has gone quickly again! The Carer is due in the next hour. And I don’t feel hungry again? Summat a matter with me here?
In walked a very welcoming Sinead. ♥ A lovely gal. Had I been 60 years younger, a foot taller, a lot healthier/fitter, could see and hear, had hair on my head, and slightly more sane, I’d be in there, you know! Oh, Yes! She could not stay long, but Sinead accepted the treats and… Found I’d left the hot tap running! AGAIN!
I FEEL AN ODE COMING ON…
Then Sinead departed. I asked her to take the waste bag with her to the chute, which she did, and slightly annoyed with himself for leaving the hot tap running, sadder at Sinead’s departure, and idiot, closed and locked the door, and limped back to his computer, and but Heartbeat on his TV.
Despite this Thursday being his best day for months, he sank into a Dracula Depression. Life can be a bitch!Yet, he fought his way out of the gloom. He decided that this momentary glitch, Cataract Katie, Hearingless Hennessy, Anne Gyna etc. were only payment for his sins, mistakes and attitude he had as a teenager and were deserved. (Got into a foul mood now, hasn’t he – Hehehe!) Time for him to get some shut-eye?
Oh, ! I’ve not done the , have I. Humph! I’ll do them then.
Back up into the read after one day in the amber. Ah! Well, it could be worse.
SYS 150. DIA 85, I’m sure I’ve had similar figures for these two and not ended up so high on the assessment graph?
The body temperature is maintaining a much higher-than-normal figure? There’s a reason for this, you know. I’ve no idea what it is, mind. Haha!
The DVT-Warfarin Clinic phoned me; a little hard making out what she was saying, but a few Pardon me’s, and can you say that again please’s, and I think I got the message. It seems that the Warfarin INR level had shot up to 4.1. So, they are calling again on Monday, twixt 08:00 to 08:30hrs, to take another sample. I put this in the Google Diary.
Back to the The pulse was also pretty high again, at 91bpm. Wonder what it ought to be?
Then I remembered to get some 7 veg sauce heating up to go with the rice later.
I took this photograph of the evening sunset horizon. I thought it looked different to usual.
I noticed the letter that arrived earlier that I’d put on the desk. It was from Easy-Link. The social transport suppliers. Also called CT4N. They had sent a questionnaire. Four A4 size sheets, asking for an urgent reply? Sounds to me like they are about to stop the service, mayhap?
Not good if so. Of course, it arrives at the weekend when I have no one available to help me with it; the writing is so small. Oh, lucky me! Got the fodder prepared.
Put some of the 7-Roasted Veg (Tomatoes, aubergine, carrot, courgette, onion & yellow red pepper) sauce in the saucepan on its lowest heat level and stirred it regularly. Then got the rice in the microwave for 2-minutes as instructed. Added some BBQ sauce to the pan and got the rice in the wide low bowl. Then added the sauce and gave it a good mixing up. It didn’t look much to the eye, but to my taste buds, it was scrumptious, almost ambrosian! Flavour-Rating: 8.9/10! On looking at the bottom picture in the morning, I thought I may have eaten a beetle? Can you see why in the picture? Hehe! I reckon, and hope, it was a piece of aubergine that looked like a beetle!
I got the pots washed and then settled to get some belated sleep, but this was not to be. What followed has not been known for donkey years; I watched a film all the way through! Well, almost, just a few nodding offs of a minute or two. And I’d seen the film before as well. Denzel Washington, in The Equalizer.Oh, I do love it when the good guys win. Which is a fantasy, of course… they rarely do win in real life. But that’s what attracts me to watch these films in the first place. This meant I turned off the TV as soon as the movie ended; and drifted into the land of nod in the early hours of the morning. I didn’t wake up until 06:30hrs! The latest I’ve woken in years! And just 20 minutes before the carer arrived.Evening all… no, Morning all!
Starting with a Funny that tickled me! It just tickled me! – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
03:30hrs: Wee-wee searched for reading glasses. Struggled to get some WP comments answered. Trotsky is in charge again, all over in seconds, but not so messy. A few little cuts shaving, one half-hearted toe stubbing. Sorted bags. And onto the computer to update yesterday’s blog. Picture of meal missing? then…
Lost without the internet,,, So pottered about in the kitchen, sorting the cupboards out… well, moving stuff about, I wanted to check use-by dates, of course, I couldn’t read them thanks to the internet still off, so…
.
I went to get the Boots sphygmomanometer and found the reading glasses… I could so easily have broken them. I kicked them along the carpet. I must have dropped them off during the night from the recliner. Tsk! Ah, well, all well with them. The blood pressure was in the red, but only the lower reds, SYS 150, DIA 79, Pulse 70 0r 78, I can’t make the number out, Humph! Cataract Cathy! Body temperature was 33.5°f, okay.
Then I tried the computer again, I spent hours getting nowhere; well, I did get somewhere – in a muddle! I feared he was going to fall asleep, the poor thing was musical yawning, and I wonder how his teeth didn’t fall out… oh, no, he doesn’t wear them at work, I’ve forgotten why. Hehe! I seem to have scribbled on the notepad; ‘Snabbled our BG?’ I bet my cyber mate, Billum, could work out what it was I meant to write. Hang on, I’ll take a photo of it, so he can peruse it for me; if he doesn’t mind, sorry to keep you waiting. I’m back. I tried the internet again, thanks to Mr Fries, it was on again! For about ten minutes, then:
The Morrison food farce arrived. Leaking bangs where the ice pack had broken, ready bruised bananas again! And the bloke wasn’t too keen on bringing them up to the flat. Service seems to be a thing of the past nowadays. He did bring them up eventually, Got the things away and back on the computer quick before it goes off again. Fries the shady one full of smoke, contempt and lies! Certainly earning his money is Liberty-Global, Virgin Media money-man Fries. His smoke and mirrors, thaumaturgy, and number-crunching in other parts of Liberty-Global must surely be paying his wages. For he is sadly lacking in knowing anything about customer satisfaction or how to run an internet providing service… service? Hah!
I got some progress done on the Snippets blog and had to stop and sit down… well, make a meal first, of course. ,
Got into the right state of affairs, getting the meal sorted out and served up. ① Spilt a load of raw pod peas on the floor! ② Burnt a finger getting the cheese pastie from the oven.③ Not only dropped a sliced cob on the floor,④ I trod on it as well! Just to round things off, ⑤ Forgot to take a knife & fork with me and had to return to get them from the kitchen. Naturally, in a bit of haste, I cut myself on the knife, grabbing it quickly from the holder. Some good came of the travesties, though; The meal was great, even if not as hot as I would have liked. Hahaha! Taste Rating: 8.3/10.
Plus, the joy of falling asleep!
I must have had a decent kip cause the next thing I remember was two carers in the room pottering around. A none buzzer-presser. That Or I didn’t hear it or, of course. Sam and Joanne, I think it was. Tablet issued. We did have a little natter, but what about is beyond me. Treats were chosen, and I went to the door with them to lock it. Back to the front room, thinking I’d better make a brew, then get some computing done on the blog.
But No!, I did get some p[hotographicalisationg done from the kitchenette window. The beauty of the sun setting, I could not resist taking, The first one to my right,
The second one is straight ahead,
and the third slightly to the right. Bootiful.
Then got the pots washed up and had a wee-wee; not have many of those today; what a nice change. Then I stubbed my toe, not a bad one! A gorgeous night out there.
My plan for getting caught up on the blogging was abandoned – in favour of getting back to sleep,
Which I did rapidly, back into another dream-filled kip for two hours or so. Then needing another wee-wee, then feeling guilty for not doing the blog, it was back in the recliner again for even more time with Sweet Morpheus. So annoying that I could not recall what the dreams entailed.
Starting with possibly the worst ever…
Ode wot I’ve ever wrote!
Sorry!
Now Today’s Funny Cartoon
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
I got up in the morning in need of painkillers and a wee-wee, Both of which were taken.
Coming out of the wet room after Cleaning the NWWB (Nocturnal-Wee-Wee-Bucket), the most fantastic view coming through the kitchenette window almost took my breath away. How the sun or moon was getting through at this time of day remains a mystery. (although I had no idea what time it was, Hehe) I had a few minutes of pareidolia pleasure. Back in the £300 second-hand, c1968, charity shop-bought, eyesorely-horrendously grungy coloured, Harold Haemorrhoid-testing, easily-falloutable from, unfit-for-use, not working, recliner.
But, Sweet Morpheus was not interested. After a few curse words, I again rose from the depth of the dusty chair and immediately got on with updating this blog… well, no, starting this blog template! After a few hours of failures, mistakes and getting all worked up and agitated, followed by Anne Gyna kicked off, and she had not stopped all day. Even now, 20 hrs later, she’s still at it, and I’ve used all the Peptac medicine! Again. Then, the worst thing that could have given me more grief happened…
Right pee’d off, Which didn’t help Anne Gyna a bit! The Peripheral Neuropathy ailments were on and off all day as well. The little fingers… Oh, I don’t think I’ve mentioned it yet. Now the left little digit has joined the right one in trying to wrap themselves around the other fingers. No pain with it! But try typing when the bambino’s fingers are sticking out or in all the time. It takes me so long to get anything done; the eyes are getting worse. And try picking your nose with wayward do-as-they-like digits… I got one stuck up my nose earlier, and then one nearly poked myself in the eye! Cooking and making tea can be a challenge, but the most annoying is the computer keyboard. With the Nicodemus’ Neurotransmitters going offline at any time, one cannot feel a sense of touch when they do. So no doubt the CorelDraw problems could be due to this? It got much worse late when joined in the attack! Moan over!
I gave up on the computer, and the were tackled. The Boots Sphygmomanometer, which was manufactured by, ZDEAC (Zhongshan Daguan Electrical Appliance Company Ltd) in Guangdong, China, was utilised.
SYS 150, DIA 67, Pulse 67, and temperature at 33.4°f. Which I thought was pretty fair.
But the NHS site I put the figures in, still had me in the red zone again. Still, it was only just in it. I was more concerned with getting the blog done than with these results. As soon as the BP was done, I got onto the computer and rebooted it. Guess what? Fries strikes yet again!
You know, how some people really get to you? It used to be Tony Blair with me years ago… but not now. Now it’s Mr Fires of Liberty-Global, who convinced his bosses to pay $15 billion to buy out Virgin Media from Mr Branson. There have been glitches and or internet cut-outs every single week since, for years. How does the man keep his job?
I suppose his knowledge of what the smoke and mirrors, money-manipulating Liberty-Global have been up to with all their financial figure-shuffling and chicanery is stopping them from getting rid of him? I read in the financial press that apart from the £24m salary, he gets shares in the company and an expense account. Of course, it doesn’t bother me in the least.
Carer (Yawner) Richard arrived. We had a quick natter after he’d done the medications. I forgot to tell him I was short om the Peptac medicine, Humph! The lad is so tired of a morning, and this morning he had to shoot off early: he’d got another call added on again. Bless him, a nice lad.
I forgot to mention, earlier, the sky had changed dramatically, and while pottering about, I took these rather astounding photos, well, no. The view I took the photographs of was the astounding thing about it.
I can’t remember when I took them no.
The intercom went off while I was in the kitchen, so I heard it. Went to investigate, and it was an Amazon delivery man. When he asked if I was coming down to collect it, his tone of voice and attitude left me in no doubt he was never going to bring it up! Git!
So, I had to get the slippers on, a time-consuming job in my condition and went to the door to go down. And Carol was approaching the door with the package. Now that was really kind of her. ♥
At last, Liberty-Global, Virgin Media, Fries, internet came back on. I’d been doing some word collation while I was waiting,
The landline flashed into life it was Jillie Cartwright; bless her. We had a natter, but I could not hear everything the gal said. I think, nae, hope, she’s popping in to see me tomorrow. ♥
I spent the next six hours on this blog and was shattered. All the usual time-costing cock-ups! And by 02:00hrs in the morning, I am still working on it! But had to give up when the evening carers called. The gals did me, selected their treats, and I got on with doing more of this blog… for another four hours!
Had to stop around 05:00hrs, try to get this done and posted and get something to eat before the Carer called.
The photos I took of the sunset tonight, I’ll try to get them in tomorrow’s blog. But it’s the diabetes meeting, and I have to… Oh, you fool Inchcock – it’s Thursday now, not Friday! Oh, dear!
I STIRRED IN THE DARKNESS,,, Hahaha!. No idea what time it was, but there was a determination on my part – not to get up. A ‘Sod-It’ approach was adapted; I’ve never had this before,,, well, for years anyway. Why this lack of interest in waking, indeed, a loathing at I had had to wake up? I’d no idea.
I readjusted my wobbly mammoth-stomached body in the £300, second-hand, decrepit, Haemorrhoid Harold-testing, sleep deterring, nauseatingly beige-coloured, not-working recliner and tried to force myself back to sleep again. But it was not working, putting me down a peg or two in the contentment stakes. Then the bowl rumbled the need for the early morning trip to the wet room and arose. so I’d no choice then. Grudgingly but hurriedly, I made my way to the porcelain.
Where I was glad that I didn’t wait any longer, for Trotsky Terence was fighting back against Constipation Konrad’s last few days in control of the movements. Phew! I’d not hit the bum on the plastic seat, and the flow started! A close call that. While in the wet room, I decided to stay up and get the done. The hair on the neck was again not letting me cut it. It let me cut the neck a few times and the left ear, too. Then, the mop bucket, of all things, gave me a toe-stubbing of high quality and in the 3-4/10 pain range. That surprised me, considering the cheap weak plastic it’s made from. Dried off and into the kitchen… I’d done it again! Wot a Plonka! I’d left the hot water tap running from when I put the plate and cutlery in to soak last night! So, no hot water for a while, On the bright side, if there is one… I’d not left the plug in the sink, so no floods this time. And the plate and cutlery were very clean. Hehehe!
Now my emotions were in turmoil, but oddly, I soon got stuck in updating the Tuesday blog, and I was almost at the end of the creating process as ♫ Oh Susan ♫ chimed from the doorbell. came in, and he was in a slightly better state of health this morning. We had a good nattering session with a few laughs and Governmental cussing. During which he only yawned twice… honestly! Lovely to see him perkier.
I had a wee-wee, made a brew of Thompson’s Punjana, and set to finishing the Tuesday blog… Then realised I’d not made the Ode to Doreen Rhymes! I’d done the graphics but no odeing, Gragknangles! It took me another three hours to get them all done and eventually got them posted off, well into the afternoon, I think. Ups and downs today?
I made a start on this blog, graphics first, then onto WordPress to start editing. Went to put the kettle on again… DOUBLE Cor blimey! One heck of a toe stubbing on the trolley wheel, and I knocked off two bottles of spring water… which landed on the other foot! One bouncing back up and hit Little Inchie! Still, it doesn’t bother me. Ahem!
I’ll find another funny cartoon to put on to cheer us up a bit… hang on. Yes, let’s have another political one. Hehehe!
I’ll get summat to eat, then, And I did! A Morrison’s brand roast vegetable bolognese, with the last (Sob!) of the podded garden peas and a baked bean pastie. Bootiful! I think Sister Jane would have liked this. Not the bean pastie, of course, but the veg bolognese.
I took the tray with the dish and cutlery into the kitchen, telling myself not to leave the tap (faucet) running this time. This took away my concentration for a second or so, and I walked into the doorframe with my shoulder. Dropped the tray; naturally, the knife cut into the middle digit, and the tray hit the big toe! It’s truly dumbfounding; to think all the jobs I’ve done that needed multitasking, and I did them without thinking. Now two things on my mind are enough to cause all sorts of problems and injuries! Humph! Of course, it was the fault of Dementia Doreen, again! Then after clearing up the mess and a little cursing; kicked-off. Gave me a good rattling of the shoulder joint and kept on for an hour or more. She’s never lasted that long.
Never mind. I got back in the recliner, and I was determined to stay awake to watch the Heartbeat episode. It’s amazing how one can drop off ten or twelve times in an hour. Humph! Then not be able to get to sleep at all again!
Samantha came in without ringing the buzzer, or at least it didn’t work if she did. Good job that I wasn’t taking a wee-wee or medicating Little Inchies Fungal Lesion! Even more embarrassing, I could have been doing the Diabetic exercises. Haha! Samantha sorted the medications, and she picked out her thank-you treats. Taking the waste bag with her as she departed.
I got back down in the recliner but was not interested in playing anymore whatsoever. I decided to get up and stay up. And went to take a snap from the kitchenette window of the beautiful night sky. Which I did. Absolutely bootiful! As I turned from the window, I saw that I had left the hot water tap (faucet) running after all! So frustrating, annoying, and ignominious, I felt!
I got on the computer to update this blog. It was soon gone midnight; What happened to the day? Did I have another memory-Blank period? Ah well, I’ll press on with the blogging and get it finished and posted soon as I can, TTFN each!
04:10hrs: I stirred and awaited the brain to do the same. It took me a while. And not easy either, for the cragwrankling Thought Storms attacked the near dormant brain. I cringed when I realised they were off again. And did nothing… I just bided my time, doing my best to ignore them. I could have done with some men in white coats and some form of guidance councillor at that moment. Half an hour or so later, the need for the Porcelain Throne rescued me from the clutches of the verbal put-downs. Despite their continuing to insult and malign me, the need to get to before anything started of its own accord if you see where I’m coming from. Stubbing my toe en route was another benefit in clearing away the Thought Storm. When I realised that things would be reluctant yet again, I grabbed the crossword book to take my mind off the thoughts. Which was a total failure, because my eyes are that bad now, I cannot see to read the clues any longer! So, I concentrated my efforts on trying to force things along. I soon forgot all about the storming. As it happens, I also forgot all about using the porcelain Throne. The only thing that leaked out was a few droplets of blood. That’s comforting, knowing I’ve got to go through this agony and rigmarole again later.
I got the waste bags made up and placed them near the door. Returned to get the computer on and remembered the Ocado delivery was due shortly. So returned to the front door and moved the waste bags onto the three-wheel walker. It’s been a bit of a bugger up to now. Humph! Ah, something went right! The sphygmomanometerisationing revealed a rater super set of figures!
SYS 137, DIA 63, Pulse 81°f. Which brought the NHS check graph down into the Amber Zone. My body temperature was all but spot on target, yet again, too! As I smiled to myself… I took a sharp intake of breath; and off to the wet room. Another false-alarm! On both visits, and I was sitting down for ages each time, there was no wee-weeing. This has never happened before? So, I now have reluctant evacuations front and rear… Oh, dear! Four days ago, Trotsky Terence was in full charge, and Wee-Wee Willy was constantly flowing, often in torrents. I feel I need both bladder and bowels evacuating now… What have I eaten that’s not my usual food? The only two things I can think of are that I bought tonic water due to the shortages last week in the heat wave of bottled water.
Ocado delivery arrived. Substituted bread and toilet rolls.
The bread I was not happy about. The lady said they had substituted Polish Sourbread with a ‘Plain’ loaf of sourdough. This is the ‘Plain’ Loaf. Malted Wheat, great lumps of something in it. Grains, seeds, quinoa, and rock solid cost twice as much as the Polish one! Some like granite. More a sort of sliced house brick than a loaf of bread. Then the recycled toilet rolls were subbed with ‘Plain’ TPs. Which were triple-layered and not plain nor recycled.
At the time, I took one out to have a look. Far too thick, like me. I think you can see the squashed, crushed state of the Strawberry cakes in the link box.
The Milk Roll loaf, with (Richard pointed out later) one day’s life left on it! Also, the mushroom pie was replaced with a Chestnut, mushroom, tomato, quinoa & baby onions topless pie.
Later, the ‘new’ vegan burgers that I later quinoa-filled, tasteless crap! Foul, . The fridge was looking a bit healthier food-wise.
Arrived late on, and he’s had extra calls to make. Managed a little natter and laughed, but not much. He took the bags out for me when he departed.
I started updating the blog. Which went some like: ‘Wrong key’, misspelling, ‘Wrong key’, forgot the word, ‘The wrong key’, shakes hit tons of keys, ‘Wrong key’, the sight making things so slow, Wee-wee, ‘Wrong key’, ‘Wrong key’, ‘Wrong key’, Wee-wee, lost word, misspelling, ‘Wrong key’, ‘Wee-wee’,,, and eventually IO had to give up for a break.
Made an order for Iceland for Friday for 08:00>10:00hrs delivery. Put it in the calendar.
Out of the blue, unexpectedly quickly, I felt so tired and drained. I just had to stop, and I had a sit down to unwind and hopefully get a bit of kip. My new Nokia N73 5G mobile phone chirped and flashed. It was Obergruppenfhüreress and Lap-Top Dancer Julie. To tell me that Carol, who is standing in for the frightening laundress lady Esther, who is on holiday for three weeks in Africa, will not be calling today, as she has to wait in for a plumber, can she come tomorrow instead. “No problem; I hope she gets it sorted”.
I got down in the recliner a fell asleep fast than I have for many a month, Fair enough, it was only for two very welcome hours, and I woke with a pang of hunger, so has a look at the food selection in stock. The Biona Black bean Cashew burgers caught my eye. I decided to cook two of them and eat them both in between two slices of Milk Roll Loaf bread. Some raw garden peas and BBQ sauce for a dip!
Well pleased with my decision, I got the spy-glass out to read the cooking instructions.
Well, a lot of help they were. “Cook in a pan until they are brown!” They were brown now! The oven was already at 200°, so I put them in, and ten minutes later, they were burnt! Unless I’d had another mind-blank? The burgers fell apart, and whatever seeds were hurtful to my teeth. They seemed well-cooked in such a short time and will not find room in my little flat again! Terrible Thought: I’ve got two more yet in the fridge... The peas were beautiful, the broken, crushed cake made a mess when I ate them, but they still tasted alright. 4/10 Flavour rating.
I found a letter in the postbox. It was a copy og information forwarded to my Doctor… Oh, what’s her name now… erm… I think she’s a she; I’ve not seen her for years. Good innit, Peripheral Neuropath, Duodenal ulcer, Anne Gyna, Reflux Roger, Cataracts Cathy, Saccades, Glaucoma Glenis, Dying Neurotransmitters Nigel, and Diabetes; I may have missed some off this list, so many ailments. And my Doctor has spoken to me on the phone three times in as many years! Twice at the surgery.
I’ll have to find the time to see what all the words mean in the letter. Such as Astigmatic, pinhole, Toric lens, viscote, & decompensation.
I’ve just been for another failed visit to the and saw how the flaming feet had blown up again. Huh, Gragknagles! They’re stinging a bit as well. This morning the water retention I thought was going down so well. The ankle ulcers are both calm, though. Underfoot is tender than ever. I’ve been very good with cutting down the caffeine; I haven’t had a single mug of tea all day!
I noticed we’d had a bit of rain today. Val arrived in a quiet mood. Got the meds done in record time. I asked her if she would like the Sourdough bread that was delivered this morning. She pondered and then said yes. Helped herself to several treats; she nearly filled the bag. Hehehe! Took the waste bag with her to the chute.
Produced a late-night mechanical concert for me. Finishing with a worthy thud.
I went into Sherlock Holmesian Mode: I put the computer back on and asked Mr Google:Why is mannitol given in cataract surgery?
Replied: Abstract. 100 ml of 20% Mannitol is given between 30 and 60 minutes prior to surgery, effectively lowering the intraocular pressure and increasing the anterior chamber depth. Ah, I expected as much.
What is Astigmatic vision?
Astigmatism occurs when either the front surface of the eye (cornea) or the lens inside the eye has mismatched curves. Instead of having one curve like a round ball, the surface is egg-shaped. This causes blurred vision at all distances. You might have astigmatism in one or both eyes. It’s often accompanied by other refractive errors like myopia (nearsightedness). Myopia is caused by an eye shape that’s too long — if the eye is misshapen, chances are good the cornea is too. Well, that’s plain enough.
What is a Toric Lens?
Toric lens implants are one of the most popular technologies for cataract patients with astigmatism. They are designed to improve how well you see without eyeglasses in the distance, as compared to if you had a standard lens implant. Too tired for further concentrating. Glad I did some research into what the words meant. I’m much wiser now.
I got my head down in the second-hand, £300 charity shop-bought, gungy beige-coloured, rickety, c1968 recliner. At some time, I must have got up cause I found this moonshot in the morning. I can take better photos when I’m asleep, it seems. Hahaha!
A magnificent sleep! Six hours straight through! Unless I woke up to take the photo of the moon?
07:30hrs: Woke wanting a wee-wee. I thought it would never come; it must have been 15hrs without one. It was hardly worth it, a painful sprinkle or two. At least the bladder is working again, so fingers crossed!
I set, too, giving myself a medical MOT. And taking ‘As needed’ non-prescription medications. There is no need for ointmentating this morning, No Little Inchies fungal lesion or Harold’s Haemorrhoids bleeding whatsoever! Excellent results on the blood pressure machine, best for ages!
The only thing not so good was the body temperature. That was way down low again. Been under the NHS’s recommended 35°c for a few days now. I don’t feel poorly; I am a lot chirpier in myself this morning. Although I felt so cold when it obviously isn’t?
I took some under-tongue CBS oil. And a Hemp capsule too.
Got the ears well saturated with the Olive oil. Let it sink in, and then I filled up the canals with more. This never seems to help, but I’ve got into the habit of doing it each morning now.
Then took a Dioctyl to help skid up the darned Porcelain Throne evacuations. Messy. Gooey, watery! Eurgh!
I got a few Warfarin tablets ready, so the carers will have some available for the evening doses.
Then, had a bash at syringing both ears. Not only a total waste of time; I failed to remove any wax at all, but I made such a mess I had
to clean up the water that had sprayed out off or missed the ears! Hehe!
Got the kettle on and sorted the laundry, not forgetting that talk-a-lot Esther would give me some hassle if it wasn’t ready and sorted when she arrived later this morning! Not that she scares me an anything like that, of course. Ahem!
I took this snap of the lovely morning sky with its ever-changing hues. Mother Nature, again shows us her beauty! The beauty we have been destroying for years.
Got the computer on and started on the WordPress reader and commenting, and the ♫ Oh, Susana ♫ chime brought forth Carer Richard. I thought the lad was late coming; he’s had extra calls on again and was in a rush because he had a four-hour training session later when he finishes work with the Diabetes team to get through. No time for any good natterings today again. I think he felt guilty about it, so I tried to cheer him up, wished him all the best, and gave him a bag of treats. Then, I walked (well, hobbled) with Richard to the lift lobby and wished him well for the meeting.
Took this photo of the car park in front of Woodthorpe Court from the kitchenette window. Made a brew of Glengettie tea and was about to return to the computer with the nug of tea – but circumstances changed…
As usual with Neuropathy Pete, his timing caused the optimum amount of pain and hassle. An involuntary right-leg Neuropathic Schuhplattler drop-something and flail-about dance made me drop the cup as I grabbed Metal-Micky and the side of the sink to keep from going over. Once more, it was over in seconds, but I still managed to clout my knee on the edge of a floor cupboard. Which awakened Cartilage Cathy in agony! Humph!
Sorted myself out and took an extra Codeine. And fond this photo of a meal from which I can’t work out? It was not a good photo in any way, shape or form, so it might be one that I meant to delete from the file?
Started on the Snippets blog, and the Iceland delivery arrived. I let him in through the intercom box in the hallway, and I cleared a path to put the bags into.
The driver took the bags through to the kitchen for me. Gave him a choice of plonk cans in thanks. He opted, I noticed, for the Rum and coke. Hehe! Good for him; I hope it cheered him up a smidge.
They sent the Rustlers for Richard, sugar snap peas, mushrooms and some new Pork & Pickle Bites. Three for a fiver, so they must be good. One for Josie, one for Richard and one for Esther. I got some small apples that, hopefully, my lesser-teethed mouth can manage to eat. Har-har! They had no small vine tomatoes in stock but have sent me a pack of large tomatoes, Dutch, that had a sell-by date for today. No charge!
The best thing they had sent was the No-Moo ice creams and No-Bull burgers. The best of any burgers I have tried! The ice cream is by far superior in taste to what one might call natural ice cream. Grrreat Flavour both! I’d have ordered more, but I dared not with Iceland’s record of crap unrelated substitutions!
I had another go at getting the Snippet Ode done. (I did get it finished, but not until I’d been grafting on it, on & off, for another nine hours!) Esther arrived and came talkingly into the room. She still wasn’t near enough for me to hear her, and I feared that she may have something vital as she went into the hall, front, and living rooms.
It’s not so bad when she’s face to face and not shouting at me rather than talking to me. Esther, bless her, has a habit of talking and carrying on. Esther keeps talking to me from the rear of my ear lobes as she turns away… the peace and quiet are nice. But there is always danger in this… She has a great memory and thinks because she’s told me something, I must have heard it and will remember it. (Both are impossible in my condition, Haha!)
Then, a week later, I get an ear-bashing from about 4 inches distance and am informed that “I told you that last week!” telling offs. Luckily I can rest assured that Esther will nip off into the other room to have a nosey around my boxes and occasionally iron a shirt… but talking to me all the time from the other room… still, I knew what to expect. Hehe! Obviously, I had forgotten something or not heard it. I’m glad I got the pork & pickle thingamabobs for her now. Giving her then assuaged her aggression. I joke, of course… Erm? She’s an angel, really.
I got the ready meal into the oven and had roughly 40 minutes before it was cooked. I must not fall asleep!
Back to doing the blog, I trudged. ♫ Oh, Susana ♫ rang out, and I wearily (Mentally) went to the door. It was Josie, returning the tray and things for me from the Sunday meal. Bless her cotton socks; she enthused over the taste of this Sunday’s chilli stew! That cheered me up a bit! She even asked if I used to be a chef? Oh dearie me! My EQ was nervous at this. Naturally, I had no idea why at the time. A feeling of foreboding matured…
I got on with the Snippet blogging again! So deep in concentration… still making errors after cock-ups, though. Then it dawned on me that the food was in the oven!!!
Grade A: It looked like this after I’d burnt my fingers getting the tray out of the oven post haste! Not good, is it? But I was so tired and weary that I still used it and made a meal of sorts out of it.
I added some BBQ sauce to the tray. Got some slices of Milk Roll bread, tomatoes and sugar snap peas onto the tray.
I was part mad at myself, well darned annoyed with myself, and so tired and drained, I didn’t get too agitated. Yet I still laughed at myself as I tried to dismantle the encrusted burnt meal to get at some edible bits of food. It helped in having some bread and sauce to soak some resuscitated bits to eat.
By the time I’d finished burnt food mining, which was tasty, believe it or not, bits of burnt food had been scattered far and wide on my stomach folds, down the pants, on the tray, and on the floor and recliner cushion. The carpet took on a new design; there were many black, ash-like bits of residue on it. I faced a long task in getting things sorted… and the kitchen and oven needed cleaning attention as well.
I was all in by the time I got things semi-put right. I made a brew of Thompson’s Punjana tea and ate a huge bowl full of veggie ice cream! I finished it and lay there as I dropped off to sleep – it was so good that I think I dreamed of sleeping…
♫Oh, Susana♫ Chimed out, and Carer Valerie came in. I’d been up and about for around 12 hours by then, and waking up after five minutes of sleeping was not what I wanted… Hehehe! I remembered to give Valerie her Pork & Pickle whatsits, though.
I felt awful but could not resist the urge to finish the blog. The internet went down… now I was getting annoyed!
I pressed on and got the Snippets blog finished at long last. It stayed that way; it was now gone midnight! I realised then that I had not done the ablutions today!
Humph!
ODE TO PUTIN
Is it true that hopes and expectancies are always there?
Putin’s are conspicuous, World Domination, I fear…
He’s somewhat of a Worldwide parcel courier?
Soon, bigger, dirtier packages will be sent, and nuclear…
Where will the scumball strike next? Europe and Asia, it’s unclear… Anywhere, somewhere, possibly a country that’s weaker?
Is it true that he wears a lemon and pink brassier? Shags Igor Sechin, his First Deputy Prime Minister? He laughs at citizens dead or gathered for warmth around a brazier, The man could not be any more selfish and crazier!
I insult the shithead cause there’s nothing else I can do… But I would, if I could, send him a can of poisoned Irish stew, I wonder if he likes it from his minions in his rear? He’d like to make his competition dead or disappear? What competition? He’s got more weapons & forces than we do… He’s more soldiers in Moscow’s Red Square!
We cannot afford to send troops there…
We’ve not got enough, nor has anyone else, to be fair…
I wish we could send him Tony Blair…
Notice he’s not volunteered to do any damage repair?
Putin offers and hopes only for death and despair…
To the rest of the world, we can only die or forebear…
Unless you bribe him if you’re a financier?
Then he just might take a fancy to yer?
Ah, the future of mankind, or an individual punter… I’m not bothered about myself neverthemore… My only claim for fame is being an ambidexter! What prospects are there for the uneducated poor? They can’t get a job as lamplighter… They’ve even closed HMP Dartmoor? Today’s youth will become even boozier,
Price rises will stir more violence and rancour, The future for proletariat ankle snappers is unsure, Innocents will be scared to leave their own front door, Putin, of course, can make a life but a blur… The Government’ll be worried about expenditure… It won’t matter if you’re an unclever, underachiever, In the shelter under No.10, they can still party and decanter?
Hospitals, police gone, what the hell can the poor sods do? How many have died could be Boris’s main issue… But it won’t be, I can assure you, The Stock Market they’ll review, Sell, sell, sell, or whatever they do… Claiming insurance on MPs destroyed homes, too… Scared stiff MPs… what will the stock market do?
Weapon selling will get very little revenue… Gunrunners flooded the market; it’s all ambrew! In nuclear fall-out, we’ll all be sodden through, Fear not of no toilet paper; worry about no loo! In need of help? There’ll be no one to go to… But no need to fret; I’m not trying to scare you… Bur, what if there is no nuclear pas-de-deux? Oh… I’ve just got a papercut in my pirclicue…
If Putin takes war off of the Moscow maniac’s to-do list… The proletariats could go back to getting pissed… Cause it’d be better not to die and go see a traumatologist, Train for a job in music? What about as a bassoonist? Or join a drug gang, and you could become the rowdiest? If you get caught, tell the Police all, get it off yer chest! Best spend drug money made on a barrister, honest!

Sunday, 22nd May 2022
05:454hrs: I woke up and passed the wind. Then I thought about having a wee-wee, but the need for the Porcelain Throne arrived suddenly. I had to gather my thoughts on getting out of the recliner and getting the balance exercises done in time to get to the wet room.
Which I managed without skipping any of the sequences of moves. Damned good session for once.
Then, I needed an extra weewee after the main event was over. Oh, dear, I rushed about to get back in and went a little heavy-handedly on getting to Little Inchie, and I started off the Fungal Lesion bleeding. I cleared and washed things after the leak and had the job of applying the ointment. All I can say is,
I was sorting out waste bags and making a brew when Valerie arrived. After she gave me the medications and went through some questions.
Instant panic overcame me: “Had I left the hot water tap running?” The short answer is ‘YES, I had!
Not only that, in my lunge at the faucet to turn it off, I knocked the cold mug of tea over… one would have expected it to go into the sink… but, oh, no… This is me we are talking about, remember. The luckiest man in Nottingham. The mug bounced in the tap flow onto the edge of the sink, pouring the contents left in it down the front of my pyjamas; I had to clean the cupboard door, sink, floor and my rotund body with cold water! Luckily I now have an ever-increasing mass of flesh all around my midriff, which I pushed up against the sink to stop the mug from falling further – Which meant my protection pants and jammies got the worst water!
Despite my lousy language and wailing, Carer Valerie was oblivious to what had happened. After cleaning things up, she came into the kitchen (She’s not daft!) Off she trotted, taking the waste bag with her for me.
The tap water is now running cold, and it will do so until the heating comes back early tonight! No shaving or owt until then. Humph! I do hate myself at times! Doreen Dementia does it. If ever I get interrupted doing anything, there is always a high risk of a Faux pas, and I forget what the other thing I was doing was… Grunglenagwaggles! I think?
I double-checked the taps, lights, etc., and got the potatoes into the crockpot. There was another Throne visit and two more weewees, and I started prepping things for Josie’s meal.
I got the pork out and added it to the bowl with the sliced onions, mushrooms and leeks. And spotted some string within the edges of the rind of the meat? So, as if I’d not lost enough time already, I had to check over all the meat to see if there was any more string. Good job that I checked it; I found another small piece. (Photo)
It took me ages with cataracts, and I found closing the right eye gave me a slightly better view… But of course, it warped the peripheral view, and I knocked the boning knife off of the counter. It now has its pointed end dented around into a sharp point. What are the odds of another Accifauxpas?
I was washing a basin I’d used, and the landline chimed out. I had to get the basin safe and rushed to get to the phone in time; it took a while. It was Sister Jane. She was in line at the City Ground to collect her ticket for the play-off final for Forest.
Now, this is proof, if the Doctor wants any, that I have Vascular Dementia Doreen: I suddenly thought I might have left the tap running (Cold Water) and excused myself to go and check. I had to, no choice. I grabbed metal Micky and off to the kitchen… The tap was dribbling, and for some reason, I thought it was the hot water tap, and also totally forgot about my leaving the hot water one on earlier, and thought… well, I’m not sure, but I think I told Jane, when I got back to the landline, the hot water tap has run cold? Every time something takes my attention away from what I’m doing, there is a possibility of such farces happening!
However, I didn’t realise this at the time, and we had a chinwag about footy, family etc., for a good while. Colin Cramps was kicking off in the left hand, the bent arm holding the phone for so long; Jane had the same problem, Fatal! Hehehe! Fatal! I foolishly took a swig of nearly cold tea using my right.
Listening to Jane talk, I grabbed some kitchen towels to try to wipe things up. I spilt some tea on the desktop and memory notepad. What the hell next? A little later, Jane rang off as her cramps were getting painful. Bless her.
I cleared up the mess that left some indecipherable scribble on the pad; oh, dear! At long last, I got around to getting the Health Checks done.
At least these results were outstanding all around. SIS 132, DIA 62, Pulse at 79. And the body temperature was the highest it’s been all year. Not that my mind appreciated it at the time. All I could think of was getting yesterday’s blog updated and sent off, let alone thinking of getting this one started! I took some snaps of the car park on Chestnut Way. No RVM? (Red Van Man) I had a look around…
Aha, I found RVM. Parked in the front section. And… parked legally and properly too!
Down below on the right end, I spotted the regularly good parkers, having snuggled their vehicle in nice and tidily!
I updated the Saturday post and got it posted off, much belatedly than planned. Even I didn’t expect so much hassle, Accifauxpas and Whoopsiedangleplop to emerge, even for a Sunday! Surely things have got to calm down? Fingers crossed.
Deciding to treat myself to a non-alcoholic, not a Cocktail, but Mocktail. I enjoyed it… until I remembered that it had pineapple in it. What a pillock! Hopefully, it will not affect the Warfarin INR level too much. I looked at the NHS DVT site about fruits to avoid when on Warfarin. In order of the highest in Vitamin K ones: Dates, Plantains, Kiwifruit, Rhubarb, Cranberries, Pineapple, Avocados, Blueberries, and Blackberries. They added; Certain drinks: Cranberry juice, and Alcohol, can increase the effect of Warfarin, leading to bleeding problems. Avoid or consume only teensy-weensy amounts of Cranberry juice and Alcohol. These drinks, when taking Warfarin, can prove fatal in the event of a bleed. Fair enough, I was aware of all of these.
Da-Daa! I hope she likes it again and that there are no more bits of string in the meat! I got Josie’s meal presented and delivered with a few treats and nibbles.
On the computer, WordPress Reader first. Then Facebooking. Finally, WP Comments. Then remembered to check on Amazon to see when the plates were due to arrive. The Amazon site said they were expected to arrive twixt 16:00 and 1800hrs. Fair enough!
They were: 25 Pcs Disposable Palm Leaf Plates – Organic Wooden Plates Biodegradable and Compostable Natural Eco-Friendly Square Party Plates 15×15 cm. I can’t say why I ordered them, but it seemed a good idea at the time. I think there was some specific use I had in mind? But with the mind being under the influence of Doreen’s Dementia, I don’t recall. Not that that is anything unusual. I like the idea of them being eco-friendly?
I pressed on with making this template, then got to record some actual facts and words. For the more discerning blogger to peruse, of course. Both of them! Hehe! The card reader accepted the photos taken today.
Then the plates arrived from Mr Amazon. By gum, they are so light! They have unevenness across the base. Which may cause me problems when moving or using them and the Nicodemus’s Neurotransmitters, Shuddering Shoulder-Shirley, or Dizzy Dennis kick-off when I’m eating off them? I wish I could remember what it was about them; they must have sounded attractive when I ordered them?
I’m so behind with this blog now; the Evening Carer will be here soon. I was obviously not going to get a shower today or a meal until very late. But despite the hassle, I do love creating my Inchcock Today… Ah, that reminds me, I’d better go and check on the state of the fungal lesion. Back in a bit…
Carer Sarah arrived. Got me sorted, and we had a laugh and natter for a couple of minutes, which I enjoyed.
Worked on the blog, but I was so far behind. Weariness won the battle, and I got down to get some kip. It was late, about midnight, and I was doing my health, mental and eyes no good staying up this late.
At least when I got down, I was soon in the arms of Sweet Morpheus. But had a weird dream; that seemed to go on and on all night?
I gorrup at 03:00hrs. Scribbled notes about a very short dream I’d had. And soon decided I was not up to much, the dang-dark Depression Gupta with me… all the way today. It was a constant battle to keep my pecker up. So no diary as such today, I spent hours and hours just prepping to get some graphic content to use later on in CorelDraw graphics.
Worked on getting the blog for yesterday finished and posted. The did a search for the graphics I needed. Time was belting along.
04:45hrs – 05:10hrs – and 11 further times: Herbert started with tap-tapping with the odd metal sounding thuds thrown in.
Tended to prep for Josies’ lunch, Wee-wees and two Porcelain Throne sessions.
07:50hrs: Cheeky Carer Charlie came.
Made sure I knew it was her birthday in two weeks time, I asked if she would like red or white wine, she kindly left it up to me. Hehe! Charlie said she’d remind abut again later. Haha! We had a mini-chinwag after she’s done the meds. She selected Rolos and a can of Vodka and lemonade for her treats today. Off she went, taking the bags of waste with her. Bless her! I had temporary relief from dank-dark Depression Gupta, while young Charlie was with me. It didn’t last of course.
J Sainsbury’s delivery arrived. Short-dated shelled peas and bean and cheese pasties (1 day). No milk or skin-on chips. Hey-Ho!
I got onto CorelDraw to start the first graphic. This took a few hours more, with me nipping in to check on Josies’ Chilli Beef nosh.
Dream Graphic wot I dun from last night
Dream as recalled: I was searching for someone, no idea who, but they had to found, I knew. Down some cellar steps, the first thing I saw was a foot with medication pad on it, high up on the end of a wall, sticking out of a drainpipe… Lost my balance with looking upwards and my hand and arm went through a brick wall, and I could not retrieve it… I looked around the back, and a ghostlike figure with knives, swords etc, was stood in the cellar corner wailing, a dome-like helmet on… Then flames came from a passageway…
And I woke up, to find unidentified crumbs in the folds of my belly and button, one sock one-off, and the emptied water bottle stuck between my legs?
Well, after many hours, it all takes so much longer with the eyes fading, I got this graphic completed. Amazingly, it came out close to how a part of the dream was.
I’m sure the whole dream only took seconds?

Checked again on Josies’ fodder, all looking okay up to now, and got back to make start on an idea to
make one for Billum, I’ve called The lesser Red-Spotted Professor Ziegler.
Graphic wot I dun from last night:
HRH & the lesser Red-Spotted Professor Billum. carry on with their charity work. Here, having completed the brain transplant for Inchcock, they moved on to phase four and gave him a new head as well. Inchcock up and about twenty minutes after the operation. Which they did in Billum’s Home Physics Laboratory, in hope that some of the facts of figures on the board might be picked up by Inchcocks new brain and head; but…
Got Josie’s nosh delivered, no point in taking any photos, until I can find if there is a way to salvage the computer...
Left the tap running, water went cold.
Made nosh, garden peas, buttered sourdough bread, and tomatoes.
Carer Dionne tonight.
Miserable mood, although Dionne cheered me up a smidgeon.
Compute troubles. Cataracts are making things hard. Feeling so weary and tired. Now cometh toothache… Crap!
