I stirred again, checking the time on the not known to me clock, that the battery had run out; it showed 03:15hrs. I nodded off again. I dreamed about my younger years as an ankle-snapper, and I think I enjoyed it. Then, a sharp retort from the ankles shot me awake. A little confused when I saw the time was the same on the clock. Thinking I must have misread it, I swiftly went back into the pleasure in the land of nod. I decided to investigate as I stirred and saw it was still 03:15hrs. I emptied the contents of the nocturnal pouch of the catheter first so I could carry it around while I searched for the wristwatch. The urine was dark, and there was an awful lot of it. Giving up on the search for the watch, I started one for the mobile phone. I couldn’t find it. It took me a good while to find the mobile phone, which was always in the nightshirt pocket. Later, I found the wristwatch. It had fallen off the bed at some point, and I discovered it underneath the hospital bed. I got the long picker-upperer to retrieve it. They both confirmed that it was 07:15hrs! I went to clean the nocturnal urine jug. As I was doing so, the door chime sounded.
It was a Carer. She was concerned that the kept safe could not be opened. I explained that the Warden had been advised about this problem and told her the door was not locked anyway. Getting inside, she was concerned that I had not had a wash & shave and about the scuff mark on my chin. I told her about the I’d had. She dished out the medications and took off my one diabetic sock. She noticed some yellow stuff was working through the compression bandaging the nurse put on the right leg and leaking ulcer. I mentioned the nurse was coming either Monday or Tuesday. Nice, Caring gal, as are others, Kara specifically as well. She laughed when I explained why I’d got up so late. Hahaha! Thanked and treated her and made an effort to get a wash, shave, and the painful medicationalisationing done. Another long job this morning. I did have a bit of luck, well, several, really. (Smug-Mode) No shaving cuts… Yes!
I also found some swabs and other tackles the nurses had left in a bag of supplies for leg ulcers, Haemorrhoids, Acne, and Eczema. I used the swab for the , and my rear-end piles and cleaned the yellow gunk off of the diabetic compression thingy. I did a decent job of it, too. I took this Kodak Tim shot above my legs. I thought I’d treat myself to a mug of tea. So, I did, but: , as I was getting the milk out of the fridge, I heard a noise from the other room, possibly some stuff had toppled over, so I hastened as fast as I could with . En route I . This set off in a supporting role, . This was immediately followed by a vitriolic outburst that lasted for a few minutes. 30 seconds is about normal for her.
I got the computer going and opened Corel Draw. Unbelievable rubbish was happening that had me so confused and annoyed, The programme must have taken a new elongated route; it took ages before things opened properly, and then, just when I thought I could start putting the photographs from yesterday on… it told me to save this file as another name and/or location! Peeved off! I was already three hours late starting the blog. Tonight, I will have a late night, maybe an all-nighter.
Throughout the day, it did not help me concentrate. In fact, I had a feeling that what happened the other day may happen again. But up to now, they have only been short episodes, thankfully, but frequent. Carer Kara will ring the Doctor for me on Monday or Tuesday. Bless her.
Carer Joanne called. She was unhappy today; I sensed she was upset about something. My EQ is usually right. I tried to cheer Joanne up a little bit. Hang on, that might have been yesterday.
I took these two from the kitchen window. . Wonderful Cloud Formations.
. I checked on the spuds to use later. (It was 0245 hrs when I got the meal served. Tsk!) The tatties badly needed de-sprouting. . They looked better after a wash & brush-upwards. Haha!
Carer Richard arrived as I was taking this shot above. Wonderful Clouds! He had bad news about his poor legs. The hospital told him they could do nothing to help. The broken bones cannot be mended. Looks like painkillers and walking frames on his legs are possible. Poor lad.
As the night grew on, and I struggled with the blogging, I stood up to empty the catheter bag, and the yellow puss came through the bandage again.
Still, it looked pretty. Hehe!
Early in the morning, I’m going to get some food now. I found it difficult to prep the meal. I felt so tired out. It was at the ridiculous time of nearly 03:00 hrs, and I struggled to get the blog done because my eyes were so bad. Baked potatoes halved with sea salt and Flora No-Butter butter slathered on them. Tomatoes and some vegan pie. A lemon-flavoured yoghourt followed, and I forced myself to stay awake to wash the pots. When I turned off the computer, I realised I had an Asda delivery coming in the morning, from 06:00 to 07:00hrs! I’ll be lucky to get any sleep at all! I took this Kodak Tim shot and went to the awaiting bed. And flipping- well, long overdue, it was, too. – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – I didn’t. I blame , and . With a smaller degree of guilt laid on &.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – With contentment, may you be blessed,
Avoid the Oligarchs, druggies & fascists,

Got to go, I’m seeing my anaesthesiologist,
I pray today is one of your very bestest!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Oh, flipping heck, pickled walnuts and groats! Just look at the colour of the pouch contents this morning! So, so dark! That was my fault, methinks. I told Carer Richard I’d try to take my diabetic socks off and fit the night bag myself, as he was not up to it. The lad still struggling with his poor legs. But, me being me, I could not get the diabetic socks off, and I fell asleep and didn’t put the night bag on. Life is a struggle for both of us. I was so glad to see him, though. So I left the socks on. As soon as I got on my feet, the electric shocks started from the ankles, and they have been on and off all day, as of 15:00hrs. Cartilages Chloe and Carole are taking it, in turn, to give way, as well. Carer Kimberley came, and I took some Kodak Tim shots. When the gal departed, I got the SD card out to load the shots onto the computer… !
Only the open photo was on the card. Was that the urine pouch? I must have taken about ten more.
I got the card back in Kodak Tim and took a couple more, but they were not on the card. I swapped cards, tried again, and had no luck. Now I was almost in tears! Shit!
I lost interest after that. I turned on the TV to watch the football, only to see Ukraine lose to Romania. Then France won… Nothing is going right at all!
Then, a series of events played out. I can’t even get a wash and shower because I forgot to ask Carer Kimberly to take my socks off. Depression kicked in then. So, I had to try something to get back online, so I decided to have a stand-up wash and shave, but I didn’t enjoy it. What utter frustrations!
Back in a bit… hello, the intercom is chiming out. I could see a nurse at the door, let her in, and started thinking of the things I wanted to tell and ask her: the electric shocks from the ankles, the cartilage, and the toothache. The doorbell chimed, and when I got to open the door, the nurse said she was looking for a lady. She realised she had come in the wrong block and needed Winchester Court, not Woodthorpe Court. My sinking spirits sank even further.
Off to the wet room.
I’m back and in a slightly teeny-weeny, microscopic, tinyish, itsy-bitsy, almost imperceptible bit of a better mood. Why? I’m not quite sure. It possibly has something to do with cleaning my teeth and shaving without the slightest hint of a cut or bleeding.
Late on, Carer Chris arrived. He looked at the camera for me, used his phone camera to take a shot of the evening clouds, and emailed the picture to me. I got it on here Tuesday morning.
He’s caught the essence of the night sky very well. Not that I was jealous, of course. Chris had cleaned through the mechanics of the camera for me.
I made the evening meal and then tried using Kodak Tim again. It was hit-and-miss. The meal photo went through (Yee-Ha!), but my sky shot did not reach the SD card? Lamburger cobs and fries. 8.8/10.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – My body and, more importantly, my mind are in a different state today. I thought my cerebrum was not my own, which, of course, it isn’t nowadays. There have been so many lows with intermittent unaccountable high moments. I’m baffled! A bit worried as well. Although I knew this would develop, I was warned by the doctors years ago. – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Still a bit dark.
Carer Maryham arrived while I struggled to get the fresh PPs and helped me with them. Then, Maryham creamed and ointmented certain areas. I could not have a shower too early cause of the noise and neighbours. Bless her!
A few spots of showery rain, but no more.
Bootiful clouds,
The first day pouch emptying was much better,
I know I was working on the blog, but not much else. Hours passed, I think Carer Sam called, and then the next one was Carer Chris. I mentioned that I had not taken many photographs today for the blog. He took Kodak Tim onto the balcony and started taking skyshots for me. Apparently, I was shaking a bit. Jolly decent of him.
He even took a shot of me after. When he’d done the clouds for me. Seeing the ageing, pot-bellied man in the above photo, I was shocked to see how I’d so quickly gone so decrepit. I’d love to know what I was thinking with my ponderous look?
When Chris departed, I emptied the day urine pouch again. Oh, a very much better-looking colour this time! There’s hope yet for the Urologist. Hehe!
A shot from the right side of the balcony later, after the sun had forced its way through and the clouds thinned down. I saw many things in this shot.
I got the nosh made and put it on a tray, and Carer Christopher arrived. He took my socks off, medicated me, and attached the nocturnal catheter pouch for me. He selected his drinkie and nibbles, and off he trotted. I tucked into the now cold meal.
Two-thirds of the way through, I realised I had not taken a snap of it, so I did. Cold chips, cold pork knuckle, tomatoes, red onions, and a pot of Lemon Mousse. I dropped it, and it split open, making another mess to be sorted out for me. Tsk!
I went to wash the pots and took shots of the evening sky with the quarter moon showing in the centre of the photograph. Marvellous colours. I tried several times to get as close in a shot as Kodak Tim would let me. I must have taken four shots; this was the best I could manage. Humph! The blotches and stretched moon might mean this is Tate Gallery-worthy? On the other hand…
I stripped and nearly tripped over the night pouch’s long tube. It was another struggle to get settled into the bed. With the nurses adjusting the heights and dips so she might get better access to plunge the catheter tube back into Little Inchie, the bed is now in such an uncomfortable layout/position. After playing with the controls for ages, I decided it was not working for me. I got out of bed, , swore and cursed a little, and hobbled to the second-hand, c1968, eyesorely-horrendously grungy beige-coloured, £300, charity shop bought, crumb-retaining, microorganism-microbe producing, gungy, moth-eaten, beige-coloured, non-working, bacillus encouraging, incommodious, Haemorrhoid Harold testing, c1968 recliner, and settled back in it. – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – A much disturbed night of sleep. But little bother all the same. As soon as I got back from the hospital, I got undressed and left the clothing on the floor… so tired!
I attached the nocturnal bag to the day pouch, did the safety checks, and climbed into the much-awaited bed.
Between the occasional waking up from my , they were copable with, I just drifted back into the land of nod each time. As I woke, I could sense the itching from my covered forehead. I could also see the flakes of skin all over the quilt. Tsk! I rose and nearly tripped over the clothes I’d left on the floor in my fatigue.
I then had to move the mass of skin from the bedding. I did all this while the nocturnal pouch on the long tube was being pulled about. I checked to see if anything was leaking. And what did I discover? The flipping night bag had nothing in it! Come think of it. I did wake up with the innards rumbling. I went into a Sherlock Holmesian mode and had a look. Had a tube come off, was one blocked, had blood from the fungal lesion blocked it? No. I’d not opened the tap! So, off to the wet room to the Porcelain Throne to check things out properly. Great Balls of Fire! A comeback from being in total control. Despite my best efforts, everything seemed rock hard and would and could not be encouraged to move. Still, I had a go at a new crossword in the book. Not that I did well, because I didn’t. Spit!
I cleaned up, returned to the computer, and started updating yesterday’s blog, finishing it off. I got it done.
I started getting calls for parts of the day, up until around 1600 hrs, when Carer Chris arrived. The early callers were Carers Favour and Sam, I think.
Tee sun broke through the clouds, and very pretty they looked, too. Despite the blotches, I tried again to get one that would be blotch-free.
But the kettle started boiling, and this was my first brew of the day. I’m only allowed two mugs, so I concentrated on mashing the Glengettie. Then just stood there, watching the clouds, for ages, almost talking to them. Then I got Kodak Tim and tried again for a snap. They looked a little darker this time. I took advantage of the lighting, thinking I may get a decent crisp photo of the housing on the street opposite. That’s the one with the suspected drug growers on it. It came out alright, but of course, the usual blotches were there. I try to ignore them now. Hehehe!
Here are the revelations of the differences quiz.
I blogged for a while, but the mind-blanks steadied up the progress and annoyed me. I’m waiting for an appointment at the hospital again for someone to check things out. I think it is a neuro-something or other doctor. The sun suddenly took a dive for some reason.
I got Kodak and captured it.
Minutes later, the sun came out again? But I didn’t catch it as I had to try again to pass on the . No chance. How can it change so often and quickly? Beats me! Then again, lots of things do that… like crosswords, hopes, arithmetic, women, Putin, and Peripheral Neuropathy. Then there’s Cataract Katie and Glaucoma Gladys, Cartilages Chloe & Carol, and so many other things, such as life and humankind. Do I sound depressed? Hehehe!
I made up a sachet of relief drink soda and took a Senna tablet. I’m determined to get some action going from the rear end! I also decided to have some of the vegetarian sausages with tonight’s meal. That should encourage things to soften and get moving again. We’ll see! Fingers crossed.
I took this shot with Kodak Tim through the balcony windows. The blotches were covered a little by the colour of the clouds, so it looked fine. It took a while to cook the meal. I saved everything, and as I got ready to close down the computer, I decided to have a mandarin in an orange jelly pot! I kept snapping away at the unique cloud formations that blended with the death throws of the sunshine. My Pareidoliaising on these two snaps went on and on. Animal’s mouths, so many faces, feet, swordfish, islands in the sea, and blotches that I just could not see! A ribbon of white on the horizon in this one on the left. But also, the blotches can be seen easily. Shame! I still liked this one.
There are veggie sausages, tomatoes, and potatoes. I would have some sugar snap peas to encourage the rear-end activities, but I left them on the stove. Say no more! I washed the pots, and before climbing into the bed (it’s a high one), I spotted and took my last snap of the day through the balcony windows.
There are times, quite frequently lately, that I don’t want to struggle anymore with problems… well, anything. Which, of course, is an impossibility to achieve. At my age, my mental and physical condition is a smidge on the slope to depths of unmanageability. With Carer Kara about to be off for two weeks, my problem-solving inabilities will no doubt get further behind; the memory devolves into “Sod-It-Mode”, “Self-pity”, and “Confounding-Confusionability” are already at the limit I can cope with at the moment. Now, this morning, as writing, the have started again; below the knee, lumps are getting bigger and thickened for the first time ever. And started failing, in the fashion of, currently not too bad & . Just three times up to now, but on one occasion, when I was in the kitchen, it could have had me over. But for my razor-sharp reactions and cunning anti-fall skills… Alright, I was standing at the sink when it kicked off. I grabbed the edge of the sink and knocked over some plates and cutlery as I fell forward onto the draining board, having missed my grip. First Carer Shaquille. Then, I got on with the blogging. Carer Kara arrived. She checked the finances for me. She opened a British Gas Email to try and make sense of it, which I couldn’t. Then, she addressed the Demand for a Meter Reading from me. She went with me to the housing in the lobby outside the door and found that according to the meter, I was on five different rates for electricity! None of them produced a five-digit reading, which BG was asking me to fill in on their website. We were baffled by this! Kara said she’d asked the wardens if they could help. I’m not hopeful. Then again, I’ve been bereft of hope ever since having the stroke. And still, no one wants to Adopt a Grandad. Hehehe!
I woke around 0215hrs due to the ankle ulcer and electric shocks and decided to get up, as sleep was not an option as the shocks became persistent.
I made a mess of the first attempt to snap the nocturnal pouch. I’m not sure what I did wrong, but the second one seemed to come out a lot better.
Even worse than yesterday!
Rubbish bag to the doorway.
Interesting shot through the balcony door. I’ve forgotten why it was interesting now. Tsk!
First of the day pouch emptying session Bits in the urine and bubbles. Erm?
End car park later on.
A late afternoon balcony shot.
Early evening skies.
A beauty to these, I thought.
Hello, back to the Porcelain Throns. Trotsky was well in command.
Did as described earlier. It helped me settle down on the electricity billing. Not only that, she worked out how I could get the publications linked to Linkedin! I was completely lost on how to do it! Bless her! I’ll miss her when she’s on holiday, by the way I will.
I missed this one, so I loaded it out of sync. Of course, that is nothing remarkable to me, as you know. My favourite Puffer Clouds soon disappeared as the low outer clouds fell. Or had I loaded one from another day? I am not sure why I put this in. However, I also found this one below.
So, I assume the sunshine sneaking through indicates they were taken together. I’m waffling on here! As the sun passed, these may have been taken early in the morning. Or not. I’m struggling with things today, although I’m doing better with blogging. I thought! Until I spotted the new Grammarly telling me, it had 27 Review suggestions for me. I’d better get them done then. Huh! That took me ages to get sorted.
♥ Nurse Hristina Arrived ♥
Coming from the Deep Vein Thrombosis, Wafarin, INR level, and Anticoagulation blood-taking clinic session. Such a lovely lady. Always a pleasure when she calls.
The intercom rang, and it was an Asda delivery, I thought I’d ordered this for next week? Never mind; the J Sainsbury one must be coming next week. I asked the driver to put the light things into a box so that I could carry them to the kitchen, which he kindly did. I then moved them from the doorway to the kitchen. By the time I lugged the bags and box into the kitchen, I was ringing with sweat and breathing heavily. As I just got them into the kitchen, Carer Israel arrived, full of beans and feeling perky. He sorted the medications out for me and took some nibbles as a treat. I gave him a can of grapefruit drink from the fridge, which would cool him down a smidge later. Hehe! Then I got back to sorting the delivery out. Getting the things in the fridge and freezer called for some jiggling about a bit. The fridge loading was easier than the fridge was. In fact, there was still some room in it when I’d finished. Plenty of drinkies in there for the carers to have in this warm weather. On the other hand, some fodder had to be removed and dished out of the freezer to make room for the newly delivered items. It’s chocker-full now! Damned good job that I ordered J Sainsbury’s order for next week and not this. Else I’d had another load of food to store away! Hehe!
I pressed on with the blogging.
Found this mystery photo on the SD card on Thursday morning. Looks like an accidental snap to me. Why, when, I’ve no idea! Where? Balcony curtains? More blotches than ever in this first evening cloud shot. I got the last of the lens cleaner out and tried to clear it again, but it doesn’t seem to work. The blotches are still there in the second photo I took. I’ll have to see if there is any other cleaner I can buy and try. I’m not too hopeful. I made a meal – a simple bowl for a simple man. Hehe! But it tasted fantastic. I still can’t believe these no-meat vegan sausages taste so good, but they certainly do. I cooked the sausages in the oven at 190° for 25 minutes. I added them to the can of tomatoes in the saucepan but forgot to add some salt. Yet the feast tasted so nice. I used Milk Roll bread to put each sausage in and dip it in the tomatoes. Bootifully Satisfying!
I fell asleep watching the Heartbeat episode on Virgin Media, which conned me into buying a new, expensive TV package. Night Carer Israel came and woke me up. (What’s happening? Have I died? What day and time is it? Hehehe!) and took my diabetic socks off. Israel attached the nocturnal catheter bag to the day bag, treated to nibbles and a drinkie, and off he went. Looking forward to his own bed. Thank you.
Minutes later, I needed to use the. Twice in one day! And what a controlled evacuation it was! I started quickly and kept flowing and splattering for ages! A lot of cleaning up was required. Which, I’m sure you’ll appreciate, was a little painful and messy, with me carrying the attached to the day bag nocturnal night bag by the tube and trying not to get it tangled up with , or the tube trapped against anything. After finishing the cleaning, I decided to check everywhere for safety, taps (faucets) in the kitchen, fridge & freezer doors, and the stove being left on. Seeing the view, I fetched and took photos of the evening view. The fanged blotches were still showing on the snaps. Humph! So much for cleaning the lens again. A fat lot of good that did for me! Tsk!
. Naturally, a man of my intelligence, know-how, keen, alert, spot-on eyesight, educated, mathematician-like operational brain and investigative skills… I got three of them in ten minutes.

I’m so far behind with everything after the £290 CorelDraw 2004 programme I just installed a few days ago crashed four times. As usual, a message came up after reloading each time, wanting my email and an explanation of what I was doing when it crashed, and I lost everything I’d done! Then I had more bother when the Control+I, and E did not work. The trouble is, if I do find a way around it, I forget how I did it the next time it happens.
And, when I was making some comment replying, WordPress blinked, and the comment disappeared! I turned everything off and rebooted. It was still off in the ether. But then I could not access the comments at all! This morning, it seems to be working… hang on, I’ll check again… They came up, but I’m not going to risk answering yet, until I get this blog done. – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Pouch.
Urgh! Yet it took ages to get started?
Hoovered the hallway.
Balcony sky view.
The first mug of Glengettie. I let it go cold as I fought for hours to get CorelDraw working again. It was not easy; unbelievable it took me three hours! I’m still not confident.
A food order arrived. I think I’d bought comfort food. Balson shortbread biscuits, lemon mousse, pork pie, marmite nibbles, with some tomatoes (which were nice!), and sliced potatoes.
Drinkies, some for the treat shelf, vinegar and seasoning.
As the evening approached, the sky looked good.
I was fed up with all the time I wasted on computing, so I made an early meal for myself. Well, why not? Pigged the meal down. Thoroughly enjoyed it. But the sense of doom over the WordPress and CorelDraw problems would not leave.
Many blank spots throughout the day. Sorry.
Took this shot from the kitchen window. Thought it was good and showed hope that the Borealis may return later… Not that was awake, so I don’t know if it did show up in the skies or not… sky or not. I did wake up around 03:00 hrs, thanks to the , and hazily made my way to the window to take this picture. Not sure if that was the moon or not?

It was not a good day mentally, frustratingly, Whoopsiedangleplopwise, or medically.
In the midst of trying to sort out so many things that had gone wrong, I’d done incorrectly or failed. Several seizures visited me throughout the afternoon. These, I would have thought, would give me a break or rest of sorts. But, no. I was drained mentally and physically, earlier than ever in the day. I’ve got scribbled notes for the first few hours, so there is some gossip to tell. Hehe!
I imagine that last night’s tumbles played a part in the day’s struggles and tribulations today.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Jolly good colouring.
The burn scab had lost a few bits.
The ablutions seemed to go well, but of course no showering yet, too early in the day. The noise from the drain may bother my fellow oldies and cost them sleep.
Made up some waste bags for collection. Carer Chris arrived. Guesstimation here. No, it was Caregiver Richard. His foot was still playing him up.
Made a brew of Glengettie tea and got the computer on. I was already well behind and about to get worse. This is when the ‘Out-of-its’ started off.
Notepad scribble consulted: Not that I could read much of it. Did I really write that small? I must be mad. A lot of it was illegible. The fonts on the computer had changed on all MS programmes. The Helvetica font was now changed to Arial on all the MS sights… or even sites. Yet I could use it on CorelDraw? I lost hours searching for help with the problem. All seemed hopeful until I tried to follow the instructions, as with all four sites’ advice; the task got more complicated than it got me into dangerous ground of changing options, and what they suggested was not on the page they’d led me to. Afternoon, Carer Marie arrived and saw me, I carried on searching and trying things not too technical to solve the problem. I even uploaded different fonts Google said were very similar to Arial. Ha! Not on MS, they weren’t! They all changed as soon as I tried to use them. I’ve got hundreds of unwanted fonts now taking up valuable memory. Tried to delete them and found for various reasons, I was told if I delete this font, things will not appear the same on work done? Summat like that, repeatedly! I gave up altogether and did no more work on this blog until now, Tuesday AM, 07:00hrs. I started to concentrate on CorelDraw, and it froze! I turned off the computer really early in the afternoon.
Frustrated! But over time, I did get to take some photos of the sky & clouds from the kitchen window. First two. The blotches back on the camera lens. I cleaned them, we’ll see on the next ones. I can’t tell if the blotches were there or not. Ah, yes, this time I saw them. I’ll try cleaning the lens again.
Had an early meal. Ham sandwiches and chips. I forgot about the tomatoes. Tsk! A pot of ketchup with pickles to dip the sandwiches in. Hehehe! Mandarins in an orange jelly dessert pot. Nice!
Carer Chris called for the last two visits.
I fell asleep in the itch-creating, bruise-giving, catheter-tube-tugging, crumb-decorated from my nocturnal nibbling, God-awfully uncomfortable, cringingly grotty, no longer working, dirty beige, anti-sleep designed, c1966, second-hand bought for £300 ten years ago from the charity shop, recliner. But I was waking up every few minutes. There were no tonight at all. Talk about broken sleep! It was instead of the ankle shocks, it was to blame. It was purgatory waking up so often, then chewing over the put-downs and mocking coming from within my poor brain.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – I believe I mentioned this morning’s visit to be woken up by , in yesterday’s blog. She recognised my condition immediately. The belated COVID side effects were that the arm was stinging, and apparently, I was stuttering as I spoke to the gal. I fear it got worse as the day went on. Confusionabalitis reined. I kept going into mind-blanks and seizures at an alarming rate. However, it was the same after last year’s Covid jab, so I’m not panicking. Thank heavens that Varer Christopher took some sky photos for me last night on his previous two visits that I can use. My eyes were not up to photographing much, but I took a couple before the effects got to me, which is another belated side effect. I was so glad I got the trip-out photos done. – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Chris’s first efforts here. From the balcony window. Nice. A double shot, methinks? His second visit snaps. Local residences. Local residences.
He even took one of my midday nosh. Was my hunger increased by the medications?
On Saturday morning, Caregiver Chris updated me on some things that I’d forgotten or got wrong in my mind. For example, I fell asleep for the third Caregiver visit without knowing it. He said I was snoring away loudly when he came in. Hehe! Also, I was in the same state, snoring, in the bed when he arrived. I really thought I’d laid there for hours waiting to fall asleep? I’ll have to change the Zzz’s on the Health Check graphic later, but I’ve done it now.
I took this one earlier when trying to sleep in the chair.
Chris took this shot for me.
Also, this is one of the burn scars. It seems to be drying up now; the crust is beginning to break up. I burned my hand on the oven rack eight days ago! It’s a persistent little thing. Hehe!
Took this watching the TV in the hope of falling asleep. I bet everyone knows what programme was on. Although it may not have been shown in the USA, it was definitely a very British-humoured comedy programme.
The hunger returned. I got sausages and Frickadelens cooking and prepped some sliced wholemeal baguettes with some ketchup and pickle in, ready to have the sausages. I cut some tomatoes and dined well! Two meals in a day? I haven’t known for ages, but they were only very small. (Noted, in case the Doctor reads this blog)
Today was the hardest one in a while. My concentration was terrible, and my memory was maundering. My eyesight was repeatedly more double-vision than single. The return of the Catheter pains was disappointing more than painful (if that makes sense). Not a lot made sense today. I was concerned about the medical appointments on Thursday. Well, not the appointments, but getting to and from them without missing something and first getting ready for these things. Using the bus did worry me. The last two times I used a bus, I fell down getting on the first one and fell getting off the second one. I was fretting about not forgetting to take something I needed to go with me. Can I get up and do the challenging ablutions in time and safely. Struggling to get dressed. Will the Caregivers arrive in time for me to do the socks and medications? Will I miss them getting back late? Or the dreaded risk; will I leave the hot tap running and have no hot water for washing & shaving? (I left it to run cold this morning!) So many pathetic things I worry over, nowadays. The blog may suffer over the next few days, but I’ll try to get something on it. I may have to miss one or two, though. In the event that my reaction to the Covid Jab is like it has been for the last two years. I just flaked out. The second year, for 18 hours! According to my blog, I also felt tired even after I woke up for another 12 hours or so of feeling out of it. This blog took me a long time to complete, finishing it so late on Wednesday. I’m not in high spirits. Hahaha! Me, in high spirits? What am I expecting, saying? Hehe! Silly Old Fool!
05:25hrs: I leapt out of bed, did a couple of somersaults, and yodelled out loud. I then did squats, toe-touchings, and press-ups. Then I woke up. I painstakingly nudged my way out of bed and removed the catheter’s nocturnal night bag, grabbed Metal Micky, the four-pronged walking stick, and went off to the wet room to empty the pouch and use the Porcelain Throne. Tried to get some of the crossword done, while waiting for the torpedoes to start. A Massive Mind Blank followed. I think it was Carer Marie who came during these hours. I do recall her helping me with getting the JS order in the kitchen that had arrived. No other details until after Marie ♥ had gone, taking the waste bags for me. I started to sort out the delivery. I obviously must have taken these snaps of the fodder. As I recall, Carer Kara did the midday, and Carer Chris raided the IPA bottle, cans of lager and tropical fruit, and some biscuits along with the usual nibbles. No stopping him, so I gave him a beefburger as well. Hahaha! This array of Kodak Tim snaps were taken; well, they were on the SD card, so they must have been. Nobody told my brain that I’d taken them at the time; and Cognitive Impairment Iris had kept it a secret!
Top one: Must have been taken early on. 2nd: A little later. 3rd Through the balcony glass door. The flash reflections spoilt this one a bit.
The fourth was taken in the wet room. It shows the five-day-old scar from the hand-burning on the oven rack wire Accifauxpas.
I think I recall taking this last one of a brew of Glengettie on the desk near the computer as I started updating the blog. Contrails in the oh-so-blue sky, taken from the balcony, I think, this time. In comparison to some of the later shots, these are almost serene. Bootiful!
Carer Kara called. She checked the catheter bag; I think she said it has to be changed tomorrow. She gave me some Peptac and painkillers and checked the taps, fridge doors, etc., for me.♥ It’s one of my better efforts here, sky-shot-wise, methinks. Exploding clouds, faces, and an amazing selection of different colliding clouds! Throughout the afternoon, I spent hours and hours making the templates. But occasionally, I marked where I was up to carefully and nipped to take more shots of the fantastic sky clouds on offer from the kitchenette window, then got back to the templates. The last one of these on the right almost spoke to me. It had a lot of interesting things in it; A dragon, a hand & fingers, faces, an explosion, and a dog. This one on the left is another mystery photo. It was plainly taken by accident when I was shooting the above sky shots. Was I possibly adjusting the camera at the time? I made a meal that went down very well. I’d got two ready-made Cumberland Pie meals, both just out of use-by date, so I decided to cook them both, along with a Cornish vegetable pastie and peas. I buried them in shredded Leicester cheese. I cooked them all in the oven, then scraped them in the bowl, adding some ketchup with pickle. Slurp!
The last snap of the evening. I’m already worrying about getting things sorted for the medical and voting appointments. Tsk!
The blessed, unaccountable reduction in the agony, down to merely a bothersome pain. It is now reverting again. Slowly, it is getting worse and more frequent, but I have hopes. It is currently estimated at 50% of the high reached over the two previous days. In the morning, I will have an ablution session, concentrate, and cream the ‘delicate’ area (Little Inchies zone). Getting the new catheter bag pouch off and on might be a stumbling block, with having to bend to get it off and then on without damaging the frail cotton it’s made of. (Fingers crossed on that one) We’ll see how it goes. At least I have some Codeines to ease the pain now.
I’m sure I had a or during the day. Some were in which I was doing things, albeit making a mess of them, but I had no memory of them. One, in the afternoon, was a cracker. It was as if I just blinked, and two hours were lost. After the blink, I could not see that I’d done anything. Had I unknowingly nodded off, perhaps? Indeed, if I had dozed, I’d still be getting the leg dances as I had all day and would have fallen off of the chair?
Is it all a part of the Mysteries of Woodthorpe Court, with the hobgoblins, spectres, gnomai, phantasms, ghosts, the grotesque succubae, extraterrestrials, ectoplasms, spirits, or the Fata Morganas, and my failing mentality and physicality. That taunt, irritate, and terminate my already limited saneness of mind? Just a thought.
I lost so much time being out of it that tomorrow morning at 09:40 hrs, I’ve only just started this blog.
Oh, dearie me. Hehehe!
05:25hrs: I stirred back reluctantly to life. (I’d had a dream that I’d died and was arguing with St Peter at his gates. No details were available; I was just getting irate with him over something. (Mayhap he wanted to send me back to earth?) Haha! I cannot recall taking this, but I must have; it was on the SD card in order. Looking at it with the spyglass, it seemed rather shaky. A reversal in evacuation stakes this morning.
Trotsky Terence’s return was short-lived. Still, on the bright side, it meant far less time, and aches needed to be cleaned up after the session. I went back to putting on the Unisex Protection Pants today. Yesterday, the new Tena ones were a little loose, which meant Little Inchie and his lesion got scuffed a few times. Not that the pain bothers me. Oh, no! I got the out of the pouch holder relatively quickly. Mainly because it was so full, which helped. However, when it came to getting things back on again, it took me ages and a lot of frustration to do so. (Pain as well)I ripped the side of the leg bag getting it back on. I also knocked the burn scar on the right hand from the oven-singeing against the grab bar, the skin broke, and blood flowed.
One of my better days.
Minutes before my first ‘Blank’, I took this snap of the Woodthorpe Court end car park.
Hours later, I could see nothing had been done on the blog or cleaning, and the notepad barely had three lines of reminders on it. Hurumph!
Because I’m a Pareidolist,
Finding figures I can’t resist,
Faces, animals I can detect…
In the clouds, even with mist,
Yet, I’m no astrologist,
Maybe I’m an illusionist?
I wanted to be a harpsichordist,
Nature at her bestest…
Because I’m a Pareidolist,
The day’s views from my little kitchenette. Of the clouds on display, for me to find things hidden within. A goose, a tree, fingers, three faces… no, four! A snake, a mouse, there’s probably more.
I can’t be sure. There is no possible cure. For my habit, I’m a Pareidolist.
A different type of nosh today.
Vegetarian sausages (8.8/10), Milk Roll Bread (8/10), Air-Fried Chips (6.5/10), and ketchup with pickle (8.2/10). I can’t work out the average, But I’ll try. With the help of the Windows calculator, I made the average 7.875/10?
I may struggle to get a blog done tomorrow, folks. Or it will be a short one, if at all. Things medicationalistically are not good, pain-wise again, today. Saturday at just gone 17:50hrs, must get things sorted after a meal. I’m just getting this finished to send off. Nothing has been done on Starudays blog yet. And I’m on the verge of depression. But I will not allow it to get to me today. Will-Power, huh! Naturally this may be or not, so what! Just another of life’s aims shot.
