Inchy: Wednesday 22nd January 2025

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
I could never do a headstand,
I’ve never had a house husband,
I did once get stuck in the heathlands,
Can’t get out now, I’m somewhat housebound,
I found a hairband on my hatstand?

I was confused, not worried,
I’d taken some tablets that were Cabbinoid,
Hehehe! My Carer was jealous and annoyed,
No sleep for two days, and I was bed rid?
More alarms, something smelt putrid & fetid…

The computer was acting like an invalid,
So many problems I was fumid,
I’m giving up now; it makes me sick.
There must be someone who can help me a bit…
I’ve got no teeth left to grit,

On my second night without sleep or rest,
Couldn’t sort the computer, tried my absolutist,
Anne Gyna was at her painfullest…
Phlegm from the nose and stuck in the chest,
There are little medications left in the medical chest!
Angina tablets for three days at best…
Beta-blockers; the chest is dereft!
Carer Richard is off ill, none ordered from the chemist,
I’ll ask the morning Carer if he or she can assist,
There was a moment. Mayhap the days blessedest…
I dropped the catheter bag and tripped over it…
Fell forwards headfirst down into the WC abyss!
A smug mode, I just had to utilise…
Confused and tired, but I did realise…
I stopped myself from hitting my head and eyes.

The smugness didn’t last for long after the accidents…
The Trotky Terence evacuation was fluid and icterious,
My next problem was a smidge more serious…
I hit the doorframe with Shaking Shoulder Shirley.
And Anne booming Gyna turned on the pain, serious!
To the kitchen, already feeling delirious…

En route, I realised the piles were bloodless…
I soon turned to feeling self-piteous,
I’d left the hot tap running, disastrous!
Cause it had overflowed, The alarm was cacophonous,

The phone sounded, and a half-asleep voice asked us…
Are you all right? Your kitchen overflow alarm is sounding,
I lied, telling her that everything was fine, apologising.

The phlegm in my throat and chest was almost choking,
The sore throat hurt so much when coughing,
It was even worse when I did any sneezing,
Got the bucket & mop from WR, & started cleaning,
By which it was not so easy, breathing,
To the wet room, the cleaning things returning,

What I saw was almost blood-curdling…
I’d left the washbasin hot tap running!
At least it wasn’t overflowing,
I wondered what the next Fauxpa would be coming!

After that, I, more or less, shattered…
My interest, plans, and hopes no longer mattered,
In search of sleep, I got the bed battered,
Spent an hour getting the up-down positions mastered,
I threw on a giant thick quilt and got under the mattress
Stayed there until the arrival of the DVT INR nurse…
I consider Hristina to be genuinely precious…
She is kind, caring and pulchritudinous,
This photo of her on the balcony is priceless to me…
It was framed and sent to me by Cyber-Mate Timothy,
Lovely Hristi, I wandered off-track there, sorry,

Back into the hospital bed, not feeling sleepy…
I covered myself with the giant quilt completely,
I didn’t know it then, but consequently…
Tomorrow morning was to go worse, astoundingly!

This bug is depressing, to say the least,
No sleep, depression, at least at the moment. The seizures seem to have died down a lot.
I’m a little worried about the Anne Gyna medications and others that are about to run out again. Richard’s not coming on Monday was not his fault; the lad’s was so poorly. The stock was not checked, so no order was sent to the doctors for prescriptions from the chemist. There are only three days of Ansoperapol left to treat my Anne Gyna pains. I mentioned this to the late Carer Colin (I think) on Thurs.

I kept trying to catch up on sleep every day, but it failed. I wish I knew why. I have been without shuteye for three days now. Concentration is just a memory. CorelDraw and the computer are playing up, and there is no camera. The Caregiver, who was off for a few days, needed his camera to record the birth of his second child. Hope it all goes well for them. 👍🏼

I still need sleep, but I don’t feel all that tired?
This bug is a bugger!

MISSED OF FROM YESTERDAY
The first shot was taken, and n20-minutes later, I took two of the soon-to-disappear suns.

Then the vegetarian nosh
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

I had more troubles today. The one thing that really got to me was my inventiveness in clearing out all the unwanted files to save memory on the computer. It is currently at 96.31%. Now, I’ve lost all the WordPress photos, old and new!
Luckily I’d created and put the WordPress intro graphics on CorelDraw for today. I searched the Windows bin, but they were not in there at all! Amidst phone calls from the optician, Dentist, Sister Jane, the two nurses and INR DVT nurse Kristina called to take blood and check the ulcers.

Then Warden Dean phoned to clarify the situation with the Nottingham City Homes plumber arriving to sort the showerhead out. That was interesting. The hose thingy had been put in without a washer on it by Caring Carer Chris, bless him. The new just-bought showerhead would not work in a block of flats. So he took the new showerhead away with him as he went down to get an old one from his van that he’d taken out of someone’s bathroom earlier and fitted that one. It was too late and I was too tired to do any ablutions tonight, I’ll do them in the morning… if I wake up in time.

Then the audio clinic called. Then the intercom went, and a kind tenant down in the reception had found an Amazon parcel which had been opened and three-quarters of the content stolen. I rang Deana, and she came up and fetched the box of four sprays originally, but now just the one cleaner… that I had not ordered anyway, and some git had stolen three of them.

The plumber helped me to try and reset the computer before I cocked up and got rid of the WordPress stuff. Of course, the files not being there, and CorelDraw cannot open the blog pages now for access. A fifth day on the trot of horrendously crap luck.
It’s not finished yet.
Well pissed off, and the sulks and depression were brewing.
I put the new Kodak strap over my head that Caring Carer Chris had fitted for me to take some sky shots, which I did. Then the strap fell off of the camera, and I dropped it on the floor.
I picked up the camera and bits of strapping and put them on the bedtable to show Chris if he calls later. I straightened the bedspread and hit my head on the bedstead. It wasn’t on the bedstead; it was on the fall bar, but that didn’t rhyme. Haha!

So, I may have to miss a few of the usual blogs while I catch up and sort out what other mistakes I’ve made.
I will try to keep writing an ode for a while, but with the medical appointments and household calamities to sort out, I love writing my odes as well. I don’t want to upset my multitudinous flock, hoard, and worldwide fans. I apologise to both of you.

Sorted the pouch emptying and straightened the bedspread.

Of to the wet room.

The food order arrived.
All filled.
Carer Kara phoned about the shower and called the Doctor again for advice.
The morning clouds

All three nurses came at the same time. Hristina said she would tell the Warden about my earache and the shower problem, bless them they were so kind, as was Kara.

The computer gaff had me down in spirits and self-hating.

Bottom field below the tree copse,
The wee-wee kept coming.

I spotted the press-on cup hooks looking a little weathered. I took them off and cleaned them and the under-counter part.

Carer Chris called; he noticed a lot of fluffy bits in the wee again.

Still warm and light.

An hour later.
Close shot of the sun.

Shelled some podded garden peas.
Potato rounds in the oven.
Chicken thighs out of the oven… yes, meat tonight!
Sliced some tomatoes.
Finished blogging. I’m very uptight with myself still.
Back in the morning.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
I made the meal; I know this because I nodded off for an hour and woke up to see it spread all over the floor.
Not one of my best days, by any means.

The giving up in need of sleep arrived even earlier today. I was doing really well, considering the lack of sleep last night. (15 minutes) – I gave up trying and rose (02:00hrs) to visit the wet room. I washed, shaved and had a near-normal evacuation this morning.
But I was struggling to get my head together, although it cleared shortly afterwards. I was surprised at how well I was doing mentally and physically under the circumstances. Naturally, this was not to continue. I knew somehow that the ‘Big Fade
‘ was bound to fall sooner or later. I took a snap of the morning view.

The Asda order arrived; thank heavens I’ll not need another until Wednesday 28th (On order)
I sorted the waste bags. Later, Shaquille took them to the rubbish chute for me. That was kind of him.
The Asda order arrived.
This is a big one this time. Four items are missing, I’m glad there were, too! Well,  they were out of stock. While taking the carriers filled by the driver for me to the kitchen, Carer Shaquille arrived and got the others. After tending to my needs, off he trotted and I sorted the groceries out.
I’d got some drinks in for the bladder encouraging.
Buxton Spring water as usual. Baguettes and the potato cake rissoles,  rosis whichever they are called; I love the taste and flavour of these!
I got caramelised sausages, lemon desserts, and some Jerk Patties. I also had tomatoes and Frankfurters. I may be tired out, but I think I will eat well this week.
A ready-made meal feast!
Cumberland pies, Shepherd’s pie, sausage & mash, and, what I plan to have for today, a Toad in the Hole meal for two, it said on the box?
It was a challenge to get everything in the fridge. I tried various combinations to get all the fodder into the fridge.

As you can see, it wasn’t easy to do. Hehehe!

Although the freezer was filled, and I got all three breads and baguettes in alright, I’m just glad I forgot to order any chips and pasties because they would never have fit in. Haha!

Got on the computer and started with CorelDraw, putting on the SD cards photos from .
Then I went to the kitchen to get the kettle on. I made a brew, and then I went back to the computer, where I diligently stayed grafting away until   arrived. She didn’t have much time, but she checked my order for the diabetic socks from Amazon, and she found I’d ordered the wrong ones! Then she selected some proper bamboo socks, and put in an order for some of them. ETA tomorrow by 22:00hrs. I’ll be scared to try to sleep now, in case I miss them. You can’t win, can you? Well, I can’t.

Started feeling tired & weary again. I was about to save everything down ready to close down the computer, and a message from Norton came on the screen. Something like… the writing; “We have found 3,429 errors on your hard drive. Click here to repair”
The 3,439 number stayed in the memory, cause it frit me! So I clicked!
Well, the repair started, and 30 seconds later, Norton told me the Repairs were Completed. A restart would be needed. Not wanting to lose the work I had done, I tried to save the blog and CorelDraw work. But Windows also told me a restart.
So, I lost all my heart. The hours of work will all be lost and need to be done again in the morning. Humph!
I nervously pressed the restart.
Then, when it reloaded, Norton said I needed a Scan needed doing, so I did. It came out all clear.
After refusing several pricey and complicated, not fully understood offers of various route protectors and dark internet extras, I closed down windows.
I sat for a moment, ultra depressed at losing all the work, then…
THE BIG FADE FELL – AGAIN!
That was it. Once again, my body and mind told me to get some sleep, so I tried.
Carer Israel came, the laundry returned, and I put it away in the morning. Sleep was my main unfulfilled aim at the time. The Barrier cream was delivered at the same time.
The night shots taken of the view looked rather like the mood I was in. Glum, dark, depressed… Arrgh!

Another busy day. But, not not in a wrong way. The pleasure of Vampire Nurse Hristina coming to take my blood for the Warfarin INR checks. Another of my Angels. So sweet & patient, too, and the best bloodtaker I know. Very rarely have bled after she does me! ♥ called for her financial help visit. She ordered a lift for me following Monday, to the Diabetes Clinic in Bulwell. We were too early to book the doctor’s visit in February, but Kara will remind me nearer the time. ♥ She also pointed out how to use the TV remote again; I’m just not taking anything new in, nowadays… well, not keeping it in, anyway. She then made up the meal at the chair table for me – What a gal! She took the laundry down with her for me as she left. She’ll replace the catheter pouch in the morning.

I rose gingerly and felt so cold, as 05:40hrs. Removed the slightly dark urine bag and emptied it. I had a bit of a struggle to get the link tube out, but I got there without any .

Maddeningly Mangled Morning Moon Images

The last one was a smidge betterer!

Signs of a guilt-promoting nature in the bin!

Made a mug of Glengettie tea.
I planned to drink it while blogging. But…
Was interrupted by the need for a rear-end evacuation. And what a messy one, it was!
Had a wash and got the tended to. Then I got daily as and if needed ones attended to. A lot of them were needed.
I ran out of the dry-eye spray, but I’ve a little left of the dry-eye drops. Must get some more.

I had a search around in case I might have left a bottle of the eye spray with the medical supplies in or near the Steptoe & Son rubbish room.
I’d not, Humph!

The laundry had not been returned yet. I’ll ask the Carer if they know where it is… as long as it’s not been stolen again, I’ll be content with that. Tsk!

A telephone call from the surgery confirmed the February Medicine Assessment appointment. Also, the change in the Warfarin doses, & the need to keep to them strictly. As the level is up and down, they want to know why.

I ordered some slippers from Amazon to stop people laughing at me when they called. Hahaha!
They should be here tomorrow, about 22:00hrs. The chances of me hearing the intercom or being awake at that time are questionable, to say the least.

I found these photos of the morning shots that I had unaccountably missed earlier. Well, I say unaccountably, of course, the guilt will be shared twit,  , and .
With the wind blowing hard, I took these through the kitchenette window glass. The misshaped moon and reflection of whatever it was gave it an airiness?
The wide shot of the houses qualified as terrible and artistic, I think? Hehe! It brought back to mind an arcade and Atari computer game of the 1970s. I can’t recall the name. Is there something about space?

The potato was selected to be used for the cheesy baked potato nosh.
Got the mega-spud in the oven. Getting the ingredients together and the catheter day pouch emptied.
Hours later, when the potato was nearly done, I got the knife and cutlery ready to cut the spud in half and mash it up with some Leicester Cheese, sea salt, black pepper and a knob of Flora no-butter butter…
Getting the sharp knife, I, once again, knocked the box off of the shelf… Double-Humph! One of the cheaper knife blades broke into two, another the tip snapped off, not be seen again… (I anticipate finding it, or instead treading on it with no shoes on, later)
Emptied the flesh into the mixing bowl.
And gave the contents a food mashing up.
I put a plaster on the cut fingernail afterwards.

Carer Chris called… or was it Carer Israel?

Finally, I got the nosh served up.
I rinsed, put the pots in the sink, and took the meal to the front room. I very nearly had an . Luckily, I often do this; I was unsure if I’d left the tap running, so I went back to the kitchen to check… and I had! The plaster had come off of the finger and blocked the sink plug hole! The sink had filled virtually to the highest point. So I dived, moved the bowl, and yanked out the plaster. Saving the day and water-alert alarm going off! What a Hero!
I ran the three scalded fingers under the cold tap and applied some Germolene. The finger had stopped bleeding, so it needed no attention.
Back to the meal… eating it from the £300 second-hand shop purchased, c1966, welt-causing, uncomfortable, not-working, itch-inspirational, crumb-containing recliner, using the Carer Kara sorted out for me collapsible table.
The cheesy potatoes were fantastic!
The burgers were horrible.
The wheatmeal rolls were okay.
The HP fruity sauce… Eurgh!

Going darker again.

Evening all!

They might have said Schoolboy’s Face!

Tell you later, but it was a bad day with a difference.
I got so far behind with things again.
Another gone midnight before kipping!
Ah, well!

I grappled my way up from the itch-creating, bruise-giving, catheter-tube-tugging, crumb-decorated from my nocturnal nibblings, God-awfully uncomfortable, cringingly-grotty, no longer working, dirty beige, anti-sleep designed, c1966, second-hand bought for £300, ten years ago from the charity shop, recliner, and felt amazingly up for it. Took the photo above of the nocturnal pouch. Then…

However, by the time I’d spent on the crossword book and counting the acne and Excema clumps that had fallen on the floor, about 15 minutes or so…
The day pouch had almost filled up!

Carer Shaquille arrived, and we got the medications sorted; no need for any of the ankle or leg straps this morning; I planned to get a stand-up wash and shave. I didn’t make it; that was due to falling asleep again for over three hours later on.

Got on the computer, and I got a visit from my Angel of Mercy, Hristina. She is so kind and understanding, patient too. I also believe she has a high EQ, for she soon picked up on my depression, and we chatted a minute or two after she’d painlessly taken the INR Warfarin blood Test. ♥ A Sweetheart!

The long unanticipated Sleep.
How did I not wake up or fall off of the chair remains another of the mysteries of Woodthorpe Court, with the ghosts, wraiths, spectres, cacodaemons, apparitions, and other grotesqueries that haunt the hallways and lobbies, searching for Inchie to curse with bad luck, create ambiguities, abstrucities, perplexities, misfortunes and botherations, to scare. worry and confuse me! Cataract Kathie, Neuropathy Pete and Cognitive Impairment Iris were the main culprits. There’s others, too.

But it took its time.

I cut the fat off of the meat, and cubed it, ready to go in the vegetables later on.
Mind Blank
Got the veg and sauce in the saucepan.
Added the meat, peas and beans, and stirred it in, with some chunky veg sauce.

Blimey, it was freezing out there; the nurse and Carers said so as well.

Made a mug of Glengettie tea.
And started on the Ode.

Sister Jane rang. We had a little natter.
She will call me later, in case I nod off before the Forest Cup match begins later on. It’s on TV.

Pretty delicate clouds.

An hour later, the darkness fell, and the sun rushed down over the horizon.
Then I took a close-up shot.

I got the potatoes from the oven and added them to the pan. Good and crisp they were. Maintained stirring up and, at one time, added a bit more sauce. Enough there for two meals, sn tomorrows will all ready for warming up. Well, that’s the plan!

I got a phone call from the Doctors with the updated Warfarin /INR blood test results. The INR had dropped to 1.8, from 3.2. The dosages had gone up a smidgeon, as I expected. 1½ every night, apart from Thursday, that is two. I got the nosh served up.

Bootiful!
Rich, tasty, lip-smacking good!

Carer Israel arrived. In a bit of a rush, he’s doing the last late call as well, as I got ready to watch the football.
I took a photo of him that was the best shot I’d taken for ages. Whoopsiedangleploppery! In the morning, I found that I’d not got the SD card in! Grumph!  Sister Jane rang to remind me about the match being on TV.

The Cup Match was between Blackpool (League 1) v Nottingham Forest (Premier Div, [as of now anyway]).
Premier League side Nottingham Forest needed extra time to see off League One’s Blackpool in a thrilling FA Cup third-round replay at Bloomfield Road. Forest had looked to be cruising into the fourth round when Danilo made it 2-0 in the first minute of the second half after Andrew Omobamidele had scored in the 16th minute on his Forest debut. But Blackpool fought back in style at a raucous Bloomfield Road.
Albie Morgan, whose poor back-pass had led to Danilo’s goal, pulled one back with a great strike from 25 yards before substitute Kyle Joseph headed in from close range to make it 2-2 to set up a frantic finish. Then, in the eighth minute of additional time, Blackpool almost won it, but Orel Mangala made an incredible block on the goal-line after Karamoko Dembele had gone around Forest goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos.
Early in the second period of extra time, the visitors retook the lead as Ryan Yates’ low cross from the left was turned in by Chris Wood for what proved to be the winning goal.
Blackpool boss Neil Critchley felt the goal could have been disallowed for offside and said the fact video assistant referee technology was used at the first match (because it was held at a Premier League ground)) and not at the replay was damaging the “integrity of the competition”.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will now play away at Bristol City on Friday, 26 January, in the fourth round.

Zzz!

I thought things might get a little better today…
To support my vain hopes, I did pray,
Not seriously, or to a silly degree…
Yet I thought the Angels had heard me…
I begged for the day to go hassle-free!
The chemist rang from the dispensary…
The nurse phoned to be with me on Wednesday,
Carer Kara to do my checks, financially,
Made a mess of my order from J Sainsbury,
Phoned Sister Jane; she was away,
My Doctor called, I’ve got a Vitamin F deficiency,
New tablets will be sent by the Pharmacy…
I can’t recall all that happened, dearie me!
Oh, I let the hot tap run, ending up coldly
That’s how it goes when I decide to pray!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Oh, heck, darker this time.

Got up really early and escaped the clutches of the c1966, £300 Oxfam charity shop bought, second-hand, wincingly grotty, beige coloured, crumb-covered from my nocturnal nibblings, itch-making, uncomfortable, positively unhealthy & dangerous, no longer operational, virus-breeding, easy-to-fall-out-of, pungently aromad Catheter-tube-trapping, recliner. And a rare spurt of enthusiasm overcame me. Not for long!
As I was washing the mug I’d missed from last night, I decided to get a stand-up wash and shave early cause the food was arriving between 6-7:00hrs, and I wanted to make a start on the blog catch-up before it arrived.
Another plan snipered! I thought I heard the weak tinkling from the intercom. Thinking I may have misread the clock, and the Asda man was at the door. Off to the hallway, but there were no lights on the intercom. But did I get back to cleaning up the pottery? No! Instead, I went in the wet room and first thing…
Which took a while to clean up.

Early photo.
Later photo.

Then, I started to get ready to get the shaving done… The hot water had gone cold! Yes, I’d done it again and left the faucet running!.
I was a smidgeon worried about it, but had no choice other than to boil a saucepan and kettle and to use and carry it from the kitchen to the wet room repeatedly.
However, it was like a miracle… I did not have any visits from, or . No. Not even a single knee collapsing from or , while carrying the hot water!
And during the shave, only two minor nicks!!!
I finished the stand-up washing, and as I left the wet room, I made sure the tap was off, thinking how well I’d coped with the water-lugging without injury!  . Then, as I was going through the door… I clouted my right shoulder against the door frame, setting off …there’s more… I realised I had not put my spectacles on, which may have had something to do with my shoulder charging the door frame, and I went back into the wet room to get the spectacles.
I sneezed as I was reaching for them, and an . I groped about to get a hold of them, which I did, and the left lens shot out of the frame as I did! I took this photo of the state of my poor face after I’d untangled myself from the wheeled trolley and mop bucket.

I did feel, and look like a fool!
At least the right leg looked a lot better.

I got the dressing gown on but no socks, ankle, or leg strappings yet. Until the Carer arrives.

The Asda PPs were put on. Then I got the computer on and went through the most farcical hour of struggling and getting things wrong while on CorelDraw. I’m not sure why, but I was in trouble with how to do specific actions – that I usually do every day on CorelDraw. I got myself into a mess with it. At that stage, I chimed out and walked. Who was not pleased that I needed the diabetic socks and leg strappings put on.
It was the end of his shift, and the poor lad was looking weary; I felt a bit guilty. But I told him not to bother with the ankle straps. At least that saved him a little time.
Rich got the socks and straps on; he didn’t moan when I told of the morning’s terrible start for me and my current out-of-state. Hehehe!

The Asda delivery arrived. It’s not one of the best I’ve had; I’ll tell Ayer why…
A big open, I struggled to get the bags into the kitchen.
Above is the meat with two days of use-by life left on it as it was delivered.
Some of the yoghourts had one day!
Drink treats and my Soda water.
Good stock of spring waters & cordials.
Good choice in sauces.
Cheapo cleaners.
The top half of the fridge.
The bottom half.
Fridge door.

I gave up on making progress with the blog and gave Sister Jane a ring. But no answer, then I realised it was early for her, not an early riser. But she can stay up late and go to concerts, shows etc. So it’s only natural the gal will sleep in a bit. Hehe!

I was going onto the balcony, taking a break from the mess with the computing I’d got into, and a suddenly erupted.
Luckily, I was near the £300 second-hand shop I  purchased, c1966, welt-causing, uncomfortable, not-working, itch-inspirational, crumb-containing recliner. And diverted my route to the floor enough to land on the seat with a thud. , the result was  . Off to the wet room for . It bled so much that I had to change the PPs. But I did get the fresh ones on easily enough for once. .
An up and down, sort of day!

Rest was at a premium! Sister Jane rang back, and we had a long natter, which I enjoyed. Then I went back out on the balcony and took many photos of the views.
The first one, I foolishly opened the window to take of the end car park mudslide…

The others were taken through the glass; as soon as I’d left the wet room to change the rain-soaked wet dressing gown and slippers. Har-Har!
The window I’d closed earlier.
The next window is to the left.

The next window is on the left.

The last front window.

The left end window. But this downpour only lasted for another hour, but none since. (Returned overnight)

A call came in on my aged mobile Nokia.
It was tough to hear what the man was saying. It was either someone from the Doctor’s Surgery or the Pharmacy. I asked him if he could call back on the landline and gave him the new number, which he was alright with and did for me. Much more transparent… not clear, but far less fuzzy and tinny-echoing.
He was ringing to do a Prescription Update. The first thing he told me was that my last blood test showed that I was critically low in Vitamin B7-12. He is arranging for some new tablets to counter this. I’m to take one a day for a month. I couldn’t hear what they were called.
Then I asked about the site with the Finasteride’s, that they were to reduce the size of the Prostate, and the specialist told me to take them for a month only, and it is now about 7 months, and I’m still on them. Explaining I’m just checking. He said he would talk to the Doctor about it and get back to me later.
Then we reviewed the other tablets, creams and medicines I’m taking, how many, and when I’m given them. And are they helping? I’d no idea, reminding him of my having and now, . He was forbearing with me. He rang off, and I got another telephone call, minutes later; after five days without a call, I was feeling good about this.

I got a call yet again on the landline! It was from my heavenly treasure, known to me as Nurse Hristina, from the DVT Antithrombosis Haematology Clinic, to say she would call in the morning to take a blood sample for the Warfarin INR and Vitamin Deficiency. My ailments are mounting up!

Yet another landline call came in! Yes! The pharmacist, or whatever he is, gave the prescription questions earlier. But, I’ve forgotten what it was he said now. ?

I looked online for suggestions of what food has the most Vitamin B. Mackerel, Crabs and Scallops the last one had the highest amount. So I ordered some from Ocado for Friday, with other bits. Just in case the tablets do not arrive. I rang Sister Jane to ask her how to cook Scallops.

Carer Chris did the last call, not that there was much to do. I’d not eaten yet; walking about with the nocturnal pouch being carried while cooking is not an option for me and is dangerous. So he got to go home early. No sign of my lost laundry yet.
Going to get some nosh sorted now.

Nosh Sorted!
Tomatoes, Green tomato pickled salad. Wholemeal bread with no-butter butter slices. Potato rissoles, and a tangy mandarin yoghourt. It looked good, but it didn’t taste good at all! But I was a little depressed.

Inchie: Tuesday 10th October 2023 – Nurses in Attendance, Nice!

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Scarily deep colours in the night pouch?

Woke a little light-headed and pondered the time (04:05hrs)… ! Then I felt the wet, warm blood trickling down through the Protection Pants; they had never let me down before. Assuming that the tube on the catheter bag must be leaking, I rose from the c1966, £300 Oxfam charity shop bought, second-hand, wincingly grotty, beige coloured, crumb-covered from my nocturnal nibblings, itch-making, uncomfortable, positively unhealthy & dangerous, no longer operational, virus-breeding, easy-to-fall-out-of, Catheter-tube-trapping, recliner, and placed my hand on the wet area… only to find out it was blood!
I went to the wet room and adopted my Sherlock Holmesian mode to discover the problem was down there… I soon found the blood flowing close to the tube’s entry point.
The PPs were removed, and new Depends were readied to use. I then tried to stop the flow of blood. The Fungal lesion on the little chap appeared to have increased to four now! Argh! No doubt due to the presence of the deadly catheter that has been inserted for over a year now! I did take a photograph of the area… well, the blood on the pants, but decided not to show it, as it looked pretty gruesome. But at least I can show it to the nurses who are due today. But not on the web. Cleaned myself up and daubed masses of the Sudocrem cream on the lower regions of little . A mite too much, mayhap… I almost slid right off it when I had to get seated on the Throne. Hahaha! That was another Trotsky Terence-controlled evacuation – what a smelly mess!
Off to the kitchen to make a brew of tea. I was having more trouble this morning from my leg.
I took a fetching photo of the car park below the kitchen window. Eerie or not? What do you think?

Added another bag of sorted rubbish to the one not taken last night.

Oh, heck, back to the yet again. It’s been a hectic day up to now. I anticipate it will get worse… my EQ has just given me the nod to expect ructions, unexpected disappointment, or of that nature? He’s never been wrong in his tips, yet. I’m afraid. The evacuation was another Trotsky in-charge affair, but the content came out differently this time. It’s a sort of sludgy with flaky bits around the edges; I’ve had this type once before, a few months ago. I think!
I went off to the kitchenette again, only to find I’d left the damned kitchen hot water tap (faucet) running yet again! I keep blaming all these faux pas on , as I used to do with the now apparently absconded … there is something within that is crushing, obliterating my plans, thoughts and abilities to pieces lately. In particular, she loves toying with my short-term memory. I’ve thought about it a lot recently. It erks me!

Later today, I realised that the most cock-ups come when I’m trying to concentrate on something, and a simple thing like a phone call coming in a Carer or Nurse coming in will leave me open to forgetfulness. Even with talking, if someone changes the topic, alters a question… I’m lost! Not only to the new subject but what I was doing before the chinwag started. I’m amazed that I can still do the odes? But everything is error-ridden and takes far too long to get written as I originally meant it to…
I often lose the plot in mid-typing!

The blood papules on the left leg had increased a bit. I’ll mention it to the nurse when she arrives later on. He says with an air of fallacious, blind confidence.
An odd hue in the flat this morning. Some of my photos seem tinted with a bizarre shade, looking almost as if they are old? But not to fret. Too much!
I took another shot straight away. And that came out a different shade altogether?
All a part of the mysteries of Woodthorpe Court, with the ghosts, wraiths, spectres, cacodaemons, apparitions, and other grotesqueries that haunt the hallways and lobbies, searching for Inchy to curse with lousy luck, create ambiguities, abstrucities, perplexities, misfortunes and botherations, to scare. Worry and confuse me! Hehe!

Aha, the Iceland order has arrived. So, I left the computer so I could forget where I was up to and what my next move would be. I admitted the driver via the intercom box and opened the door for his arrival. The kind young man carried the box and bags to the kitchenette for me. I had to almost insist he took a can of his choice from the visitor’s drinkies and nibbles shelves.
I thanked him much for his help and set about checking the items sent and dates that I could read, anyway. Here on the left is the first bag emptied out.
Then, the tasty bagful was sorted. The new cookies from McVities were tried later, and I had high hopes of them being tasty… They were not!
The LU bikkies and soft bakes are delicious! The lemon puffs are for Jenny’s other half, Frank. Nice chap, and lovely Lady, they are. He does love them Lemon bikkies so. I hope the nurses finish the leg so I can deliver them later to the lad. But my hopes are low after EQ’s earlier warning.
The last carrier had cleaning things in it. Putting these away in the drawer, I proceeded to give myself a tear-prompting against the server-trolley wheel. Naturally, me being a brave, almost heroic, man of courage, grit and gamely pain-tolerant, there was no groaning, moaning or Arghs!
The intercom lit up, and I went to investigate. It was two of the District Nurses, who were soon up and in the flat, checking the legs first. They took photographs of the new blood leaks to show the Doctor when they returned to base at the Community Centre. Then, one of the Angels got her computer out and started asking many questions about my medical history, who and where each one was diagnosed when the various ailments first, what treatment I had, and when started. Well, that did not go too well! Instead, I feared she’d ask me for my date of birth because, cause for the love of me, I couldn’t recall it…  It came back to me later; she didn’t ask for it.
One nurse was training the other. And the young nurse (they were both socially minded and laughed at my ailments, all having been given names)
They explained what they were about to do. Take off the old bandage & patch. It was a shock to me when it hurt so much, especially in my right leg, which seems semi-immune to pain at times when the are off-line to the brain. Unfortunately, they were getting through at the time the patch was taken off. Hahaha!
The nurse said, “This is my first time putting a diabetic wrap on a leg!”
They then had a look at the catheter scabs. Naturally, I forgot all about mentioning . !
As they departed, I insisted they take their choice of drinkies and or nibbles, and I thanked them. One said they would be back on Friday to check out the state of
. But this has been said so often, and no one turns up, that a pinch of salt was tasted. Har-har!
They did warn me that it would be more painful than the last dressing, as the diabetic wrap is tighter, to keep the fluid higher up in the leg to give poor a chance for the wound to heal. Also, if my toes go blue, I’ve to call them ASAP and for me to take off the dressing straight away. Bless em!

My precious nurse Hristina phoned to let me know she would call in the morning, between 9> and 10:00hrs, to take blood for the anticoagulation DVT department ♥

Unbe-rotten-believable!
Not the right, known as , is the one that can give me problems, but the left one (she’ll need naming now); Gave way, and down I went in the kitchen onto my left knee – which, as you know, is the one currently having attached to it! The pain from the fall was of little bother; I was more concerned that the bag may have burst. I checked and thought; well, that was a bit of luck! I thought it an opportune time to make the second brew of Glengettie tea of the day in celebration…
Cleaning up milk from the dropped milk carton took me ages and a lot of pain. However, I did so and finally got on with this blog. Talking of lasting, I didn’t get to kip until well-gone 02:00hrs; I just had to get some blogging done after the kerfuffle with the medical things and cleaning up the floor in the kitchen, then the bits of fluff and bandage on the carpet near the £300, second-hand, most uncomfortable, decrepit, Haemorrhoid Harold-testing, micro-organism-microbe-bugged, easily-fallout able-from, unfit-for-use, not working, recliner, that I sat in, for the treatment from the nurses.

I’m addicted, you know!

So I Did!
I was so hungry.
Sitting there in the £300, second-hand, musty, Haemorrhoid Harold Testing, cringingly beige, crumb-covered, not-working, rickety recliner, I slowly peeled back the outer skin, and my mouth was watering at the thought of munching into it…

As the top part of the flesh broke off and slid down my overly proportioned belly, via Little Inchy and over the , and as I tried to catch it and missed, I trod on it as I lost my balance, and I squelched over the carpet…

The darkness began to fall. And I had a spell at the kitchen window. With…
Just caught the end of the sun setting.
Zoomed in a little…
Moments later, she’s gone!
Nightie, night!

Then, I industriously set about preparing the simple evening meal. Just potatoes baked, emptied out, causing a few burns on the fingers. Then, even more, I scooped out the flesh and mashed it with No-Butter, butter, Leicester cheese and sea salt in the mixing bowl. Ran a fork over the top of each skin to create ridges so as to crisp up the finished product, and back into the oven,
arrived as I was putting the nosh back in the range to crisp up.
Medications were given. We managed a little nattering session and laugh.

After the lad had left, I checked on the cheesy spud’s progress, cooking-wise. They needed a little longer. So, I put the TV on to see if anything worthwhile was showing. Not half! Two episodes of ‘Cracker’ with Robbie Coltrane started at ten o’clock (22:00hrs). I knew, of course, it would be the same as last week, and I’d fall asleep when the adverts came on and most likely wake up wide awake as the credits were rolling at the end of the programmes.

I was right!

The last three nights’ differences were phenomenal, unique, and welcome.
I slept for over seven hours! Great!.

INCHY: Saturday 9th September 2023 – Aboulomania!

Ahem! I found this in ten seconds! Fair enough, it was designed for infants to work out. But still – Hehe!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
It didn’t last long, though…
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
This day, I was more out of it than in again. The urine in the night bag was dark but grew darker as I refilled the day bag. Well into the evening, it turned an almost perfect near-white? The Porcelain Throne visits (4) were bloody and painful, with absolutely nothing getting through to the WC! I spent ages on the Throne, all to no avail. I’m now taking crystals to help me go, after months of taking anti-diarrhorea pills to stop me from going! In fact, I was on the Throne when Carer Chris came in and tapped on the door asking if I was alright. I’d not heard the chime. He said he could hear me oohing, r’ing and swearing! Guilty!

The memory, Dizzies, Confusion, and I could barely hear anyone I spoke with… I must try to sort out the problem with the Audio Centre, to get some help to ring them next week. No Kara next week. I think she’s on a deserved holiday. The financials are all on hold. Carer Atere said he was coming in her place. He knows the financial paperwork storage system, which will be a big help.

The usually Nocturnal Thought Storms Steve had a bash at trying diurnal Thought Storming! Huh!  Just what I needed, Not!
Concentration Konrad was noticeable by his complete absence
.
The number of times I just could not think of what I was after an interruption, was so often I lost count. I’m not kidding. And yet there was an air of acceptance with me today. I reckon I thought I deserved it… Well, according to Thought Storm Steve, who was constantly reminding me of the shameful things from my youth.
The day was spent on the computer. Apart from the emptying of the catheter pouch, the failed visits to the Porcelain Throne, and the Carers calling. The worst repeat interruptions were from the , .who amassed many brown-outs today. Which in their usual fashion lost me work that I’d done and could not save, because I had to turn everything off, and reset the box, then restart the computer. Even change Wi-Fi connection numbers each time it went down, and do the same work again!
What me, Cry? Blubber, Howl? Curse, Swear?
It was only my dyspathy towards the number-crunching oligarchs, the smoke & mirrors money & figure manipulating financial geniuses of Liberty-Global that kept me going, and not packing up on the blogging.
Spit!

Still got a few photographicalisations done though!
Bejesus! What a colour!
Still dark hours later, when I belatedly emptied the day pouch.

Waste bags sorted out.

During one of the failed visits, I had to change into fresh PPs. I tried one of the cheaper XXL ones…
The first laugh of the entire day!
I struggled, as usual getting them on, but kept my balance; no fall or tumble, not even any banging on the wall, stubbed toe or door-head-butting
. Finally, I got both legs in the right holes… Don’t laugh; I have been known to get them the wrong way around… also trying to get two legs in the same hole. Go on then, laugh! Hehe!
I carefully got the pants up my legs, without catching the release valve lever… this was going so well. The laugh came to me when I got them fully pulled up… they were so big the waistband was only inches from my nipples! Hahaha!

Artist Impression done in CorelDraw by Inchy. Har-Har!

Aha, much lighter shade this afternoon!
My favourite puffer clouds to the north.
And, to the east!

Liberty-Global Internet went down a few more times.
Gnash!

I dropped a tablet and thought it fell in the waste bin.
Had a sort through the bin, but could not find it.
So I got the torch and looked underneath the second-hand bought ex-Hopewells  G-Plan c1960 sideboard with the computer on it. Not only couldn’t I find it, I stubbed my toe in the struggle to get back up on my feet again! It has to be in the bin…
So, another dig around in the waste bin.
And another failure to find the Codeine. Hey-Ho!

Then realised when I’d stubbed the toe, I’d caught the right ankle ulcer. It stung a bit, but I now had the Germolene to rub in to ease it. Of course, bending down to rub in the ointment, kicked off , so she got some Germolene rubbed in… at least the area I could reach. I wonder if any youngsters read this blog? They’ll, just like I did, and think it’ll not happen to be, getting dithery, dozy and daft as a brush. Haha!

Night Shots From the Kitchen Window
Peaceful looking?
Lights out time.
Sky again to the left.

Here are the results of the carers tested for their BP.
All looking good!

Well into the morning now, I’d better get some nosh done.
I shall report back with a sit-rep for you every one of my avid readers in the morning. Hope you both sleep well. Har-Har!

03:00HRS: AT LAST… FOOD!
Vegetable Chilli-Con-Carne!
Breadsticks, a banana, and an iced lolly for afters.
Flavour-Rating: 9.2/10!

Got bedded down around 03:20hrs, and low & behold, was waiting ready to start again. But I did get off eventually and had nearly three hours of bliss. .
I would have stayed in the £300 second-hand shop purchased, c1966, welt-causing, uncomfortable, not-working, itch-inspirational, crumb-containing recliner for longer; Unfortunately Dementia Doreen’s compatriot, , convinced me on waking, that it was Monday! So I thought I had a delivery coming between 7 & 8, and it was already 07:15hrs; a semi-panic-mode was engaged and I got up in a bit of a rush; Dizzy Dennis visited, and I plumped down again, with a foggy head. Then realised it was Sunday.

Int life Good? Haha!

Another Testing Day of Frustration & Dismay
Blepharitis Infection Eye Gel applying problems. brought on a few giving-way episodes on the left leg, which nearly had me over each time. But, somehow I avoided tumbling and having an . A close call though.
, the main guilty party is, the that was spouting puss a bit today. All of these are connected to which indicated that was responsible for them all. Schweinhund!
The delectable DVT Warfarin Anticoagulation Nurse came to take my blood for another extra INR test. And welcome she was made! “I’m so glad she did!” I happen to have fallen in love with her... but don’t say anything about this, or you’ll have everyone laughing at me! Hahaha!
She helped me by reading the minuscule writing on the  instructions.
Which seemed much more understandable now.
Unfortunately, when I tried it later, things were back to normal. What I am doing wrong is annoying not knowing!
Iceland delivery. That’s three delivered this week, an Asda and two Iceland ones. To replace the stuff I had to dish from the freezer when I left the darned door ajar for nine hours and had almost liquid products in when I found out about it.

After two hours on the computer trouble-free.
Another hour and a half and the total to date was…
Up to now, the internet had gone down…

As their adverts say…
Internet Outages Applied by Inchy!

The Opticians called again; it was farcical. I think she said Kara, so I assume she still wanted her to call them?

Ah, well, a quick look at the photographicalisations…

Late blast from the sun on her way down, Grrreat!

The 18:00hrs Carer called. I got the and the put on. The Gel applying, I’ve still not mastered very well.
Turned off the computer…

The final total of the
Failures had reached…

I got the meal prepared and served up!
No fish fish-sticks and fishless prawns. Canned garden peas, nice tomatoes, yellow & red, roast potato chunks done in the oven with olive oils sprayed on them, vinegared and salted on the plate, no sauce needed tonight. I then proceeded to eat the feast… and created a new record!
NEW RECORD!
I was trying to eat while watching the TV… but fell asleep at least five times during eating the food! I might have been more often. Each time I woke up, I had to recover whatever it was that had come off of the tray each time I dosed off, and the tray slipped… Peas went off wandering every time, I was still finding them on the floor that had rolled out of view in the morning. Potatoes, tomato halves too. Amazingly none of the no-fish, fish fell?

The last Carer Call. A were new lads today, so I took the opportunity to ask them each to check the taps, heater and fridge-freezer doors for me. We’ll see.

A final photograph from the kitchen window was taken.

How Gorgeous!
I spent a while on this one.

For a complete change, there was no , gave me a break, and no bother at all! This time is was the eyes that kept me awake! Both of them felt like there had to be grit in my eyes? Every time I nictated after waking up! I had to give up trying in the end. I sprayed some extra on both, but it made no difference; it’s still a painful nuisance this morning. I still think it’s I am applying the wrongly. I must try to get some professional help on this issue. I’m worried that the Cataract operation on the left eye might be cancelled if the infection does not clear up. Sister Jane has the same problem after having her eye done!
♥ Here she is with me in the flat. ♥

FOR THE DAY IN ODE
The keywords for this Wednesday, are…
Moments of acrimoniously,
I had moments of being superbity…
I was baffled by technology…
The EENT, Doctor & Falls team called me,
I was hoping for some sort of theopneusty…
The whole day was tumultuary!
Little did I know then what Thursday would bring me.
No rest, respite; today I thought was purgatory…
My EQ warned me, I’d be turning poorly…
On Thursday, mentally and Physically!
Already my ankle has gone all scabrously…
My left leg keeps collapsing; Peripheral Neuropathy.
Today was bad enough, I have trepidity!
Doctors to see, nurses will be calling…
INR Warfarin level… No, I’ll stop writing…
Thursday night now,  this blogging only just starting!
I can tell you now Thursday was more gruelling,
I thought it was bad on Wednesday evening…

Bad today, Thursday was less accommodating!.
If ever I get time; I don’t like hypothecating…
The left leg gave way again; hospital visiting?
This blog will again be a bit thin…
Sorry, but I’ve got a few some photos to put in.
But no notes to use, just my memory bin!

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

I do recall nearly taking a tumble when I caught the catheter night bag’s long tube. Hehe!
Parkers below from the balcony.
So a lot of cleaning up to do!

Waste bins sorted.

Laundry.

Heck of a job podding the peas.
One for me, one for the pot…
Should I save some for later?
Not made into the saucepan?
Early meal.
The battered balls had to be thrown away.
I ACCIDENTALLY LEFT THE FREEZER DOOR OPEN FOR NINE HOURS – Had to dish the contents & did an order for replacements for Thursday morning. Aargh!

Oh, missed this morning’s front car park photo off!

Evening shot.

That’s it, I’m afraid.
I don’t feel up to explaining the medical situation, and the time I had to spend away from my Little Flat.
If I get time, I’ll put it in Thursdays… if I get a chance to do one. It’s all going wrong ailment-wise.
Still, I think the nurses and therapy gals will be calling on me soon
