06:05hrs: I been laying there wondering what it was that was different as I stirred back into imitation life. Then, it clicked! I’d had at least six hours of sleep! Still a deficit overall, but so much better than the night before, with a total of Zero-Hours! Then as I moved my limbs, something else was not normal… There was no pain whatever coming from ! Well, this is a good start, I thought. But refused to go into a smug mode. I’d not gotten up yet, or checked for any Whoopsiedangleplops from last night. Like taps running, stove left on, fridge door or window left open, etc. So, after doing the balance exercises, which went well, I grabbed Metal-Micky, and we looked around. No signs of nocturnal wanderings, tap off, oven off, window shut… Mmm?
I decided to get Josie’s Sunday meal prepped. I’m using the black bean in chilli sauce I got from Bulwell in the rain storm on Friday in it today. Sliced some tomatoes and chestnut mushrooms, nice and small, how Josie likes them. Then added the 7-vegetable sauce in chilli to it. Put the mince in it, and make some chilli gravy using the smoked chilli seasoning. Later, I added a can of mixed vegetables and some liquid salt. Made a brew of Thomson’s Punjana tea, and I started on the template for today’s blog.
Jozeph arrived. I’d not seen him for a while. He explained he’d been off work with Covid! And he said he’d had three shots and four booster shots. Doesn’t give you much confidence, does it? I’ve not had a booster at all yet. The Carer gave me a test the other week, and I was clear then. We got the medications sorted, and he had a little natter. He’s got an extra patient to go to. He took the waste bag with him as he departed with a drinkie and a nibble in thanks.
I went to check on the chilli stew, or whatever you call it. Got all the ingredients into one saucepan and left it on low heat after a good stirring.
Then, I decided to get them done. I got the Boot’s Sphygmomanometer, manufactured by ZDEAC (Zhongshan Daguan Electrical Appliance Company Ltd) in Guangdong, China.
The was needed, and urgently, so much so, I feared, “I’m never going to get there in time!
I rushed so much to the wet room; the toes were really hurting again, so much. Down on the seat, the action flowed, no pain, no bleeding, but a little messy – Thank heavens there were no leaks, or it would have left me with a right mess to clean up. I allowed myself a Smug-Mode moment this time.
SYS 154, DIA 89 (High). The Pulse was also high at 90 bpm.
The body temperature was also back up a smidgeon, at 37.3°f.
The Excel graph showed an awful lot of reds. Still, compared to yesterday, at least I was down to Hyper-Tension Red one again. I stirred the saucepan and turned it off to marinate. I opened the computer and found this photo on the left that I believe I missed putting in Saturday’s blog. Hard to believe that such an erudite, educated young man as I could forget such a thing. Absolutely beautiful! Started his enosis iffy again. A persistent dough ball of arrogance, he is. I continued from yesterday, and I started giving the high bookcase a clout with metal Micky in return each time. With any luck, he may have heard it and may come down to complain? He’s impudent enough. I await his calling… after which an ambulance and police may also be calling. He kept it up for hours. My high bookcase may get damaged if he doesn’t give me a break. Hahaha! Oh, it’s gone quiet?
Got the Saturday blog finished and posted off to WordPress. Replied to the flood of comments coming in about the blog. I answered them both.
Oh, time to get Josie’s meal served up. Did the usual with the chillies; I split it half and half-ish between a porcelain bowl and a lidded tub, so Josie can reheat it later in the microwave. Two meals that way, Sunday and Monday, for the gal to enjoy. Got it delivered to her door. I remembered to take the Lumix with me this time, so I got a shot of Josie taking the tray. She posed for me in her doorway. She poses well, does she not? The tray displays the two meals, two cans of plonk, Gin and a Vodka & orange. Teacakes nibbles, Orange Yorkie bar (Josies struck on them), and a pot of Limoncello. Not been able to get any for ages, so that should cheer her up. It didn’t do me any good, though. The last time I got some, a couple of months ago, they were two for £1.40. Now, Morrisons have upped them to £1.89. Tsk!
I got back into the flat and washed the utensils, saucepans, tray etc. and made a brew of Thompson’s Punjana. I’d left the first one to brew up and forgot all about it. A regular occurrence. In fact, I probably make more brews than I drink.
Then onto CorelDraw to make up some tags, then updated a page of the Ode words to use.
McCartney sausages, tomatoes, oven-warmed cobs, and a lemon dessert for the meal.Nothing fancy, I was so tired. But, it went down well. Simple food for a simple mind. I did enjoy it all the same. A worthy Flavour-Rating of 7/10. I ate it all up. Slurp! Washed the pots, had a wee-wee, washed and .
Blared out from the door chime – jerking me awake from the beautiful deep sleep I was in! It was Carer Aoki. A little confusion arose from my positive conviction that it was morning, not night! Courtesy of Doreen, and my still feeling half-asleep. The first clue to the truth was when Aoki issued me the tablets that included 2½ Warfarin tablets. I slowly came back to normal. (When I say normal, I possibly should have told my usual sub-normal state) I tried to explain why I got confused, but fear the stuttering in my talking only got a furrowed brow from Aoki. I possibly could have sounded drunk, I think. Aoki chose a non-alcoholic drinkie in thanks. Took the black bag with her as she departed.
I felt I had to make a check of the flat to see if I’d left taps, lights, heaters, oven etc. on anywhere. As I limped around each room, the got more painful. These nails are going to be giving me more and more bother… Humph! Checked the kitchen out last. The holy thing I found untoward was the fridge soar not shut properly. The view I caught a little late to catch the sun part of the sunset, I thought adorable, calm and peaceful. I took this photo, closed the window, and knocked a jar of my beloved vegetable flavourings off the ledge. It broke this time. Getting the smashed glass and sauce from the floor was possibly even more painful than it was. I managed to cut my finger on the bits of glass. And really annoyed the preciously calm , bending down, and she joined in with the angry, pain-giving, with me doing so much genuflecting.
I nodded off quickly enough. But kept waking up with a jerk, repeatedly. It was well gone midnight when the waking-up-jumps stopped. I know this because I had to fumble my way out of the second-hand, £300, charity shop bought, crumb-retaining, microorganism-microbe producing, gungy beige coloured, none-working, incommodious, Haemorrhoid Harold testing, c1968 recliner, to have a wee-wee. So noted the time.

That’s all the photos, mates. Unless I can sort out the Lumix later. But I’m not up to much, not a good day. Esther the cleaner just charged me £20 for doing the washing. And I caught her helping herself to at least one 1½ bottle of Spring Water. No idea if anything else is gone.
She seemed totally unconcerned about me seeing her? No wonder she can afford to go for a four-week holiday to see her family in South Africa.
I am not up to challenging her at the moment. Wonder if she’s fiddling with any of the other residents, as well?
I’ll get something to eat now. I’m not feeling up to much still. But at least the shakes have eased off. I’ll have to do the Morrisons short-dated Parmentier spuds and a roast vegetable risotto, methinks. Must sort out the shower and shave before the Carer arrives later on. Then I can get the trolley sorted out with the bags and paperwork for in the morning and get the togs ready. I shan’t use the sock glide tonight, hopefully, I can cope with it in the morning easier. Oh, I’ve got the potato cubes in the oven. In 25 minutes, I can get the Risotto in the microwave. I’ll have a go at the Lumix again. Not that I know what I did to lose it in the first place or have the foggiest idea how to get it back working.
Fell asleep, uncomfortably waking with Thought Storms raging so often; it got to me, I made the meal. Took a snap of it, but it didn’t show on the viewer or card. In the morning, to my amazement, the meal one was on the DS card, none of the others I’d taken, mind you. They’d gone off into the ether.
Overdid it by a wide margin quantity-wise. But ate most of it, put ray down and drifted of to sleep again. Until Care Cheeky Charlie arrived, full of the joys of spring. As she got the medications sorted out, she took my temperature.
My temperature has never been so high in years! 36.1°f! She selected a drinkie and a nibble. And reminded me to lock the door as she departed. Bless her! I slept on and off until 03:15hrs.
These sunsetting photos were missed from yesterday’s blog. Naturally, this was the combined faults of Dementia Doreen and Cataract Katie. Also, as well as, and besides them; Anne Gyna for giving me grief as I was checking the blog on completion, and Sock Glide Gladys for moving from where I left her after using her in the morning, behind the trolley, so that I stubbed my toe against her sold metal constructed frame. Life’s a game!
I woke around midnight, in urgent need of a weewee. Which was another visit that turned into the visit. After this and a couple of others, there was no chance of more sleep for me. So, I got, for the first time in my life, a can of Pepsi Cola to drink, And I can now state that I liked Pepsi better than Coke. Haha! Haha! If Pepsi Co. would like a written commendation, my fees will not be excessive. I spent four hours getting the Saturday blog updated and sent off, unbroken, even for a weewee or mug of tea.
Did you ask how the hell can the old pillock take so long? Easy-peasy! I struggled with my eyesight and made many mistakes, some that Grammarly missed; these amendments cost me a lot of time. When I finally (I thought) got it ready for the final run-through, read and check. I found many of the amendments I’d made to be wrong as well. It was as if someone else was in charge of my fingers? I got fed up with finding faults and sent it off as it was… frustrated and annoyed at myself.
I took a break to make the first brew of the morning, Thompson’s Punjana. While making it, I checked that everything was in the fridge for making Josie’s Sunday lunch. It’s getting harder now to cut up the small vegetables so Josie can cope with them, but I do get something out of doing it for her… satisfaction and almost pride!
I decided to prep the veg then and there. I got mushrooms, potatoes, carrots and gungo beans ready and in the pan. Sliced some yellow peppers and tomatoes up small. The green beans, I’ll cut later; they will be overdone if they go in too early. A can of mixed vegetables, liquid salt, vegan Oxo, BBQ, and basil seasonings. Stirring all the time to start with. After half an hour, I left them to settle and marinate and added the no-bacon-bacon bits. A little short on potatoes this week; I hope she doesn’t notice cause she’ll tell me if she does. Cubing them can be risky. I was cooking the mushrooms separately. There is a design as to why. Sometimes the gravy can dry up, so I leave the vegetable seasoned water from cooking the mushrooms in the pan, then I can use it later as a tasty addition to the stew, come chilli, to loosen the food for her. I returned to the computer for a while and started on the Ode and graphic making on CorelDraw.
Back to check on the fodder… As I anticipated, the stew was getting a little too thick for Josie’s tastes, so I went to get the saucepan with the mushroom water… Twas then that I realised I had turned on the wrong hob! The back of the right-hand middle finger coped for it, but that is better than the left. The nerve ends on the Peripheral Neuropathy side, and I hardly felt any pain.Of course, once the eyes saw it, the pain instantly developed; Haha! I poured some of the mushroom juice into the saucepan and gave it a good stir! Then went to put some Germolene cream on the finger. The right knee was really giving me so jip now as well.
I returned to the kitchen, added the sliced earlier green beans to the mix, and stirred again.
Had a taste of it and felt it was just about right for Josie’s taste buds to be tickled.
Back to the CorelDraw tasks, and got the Ode written and graphics for the blog. This was a mammoth undertaking with all the errors I was making.
♫ Oh, Susana ♫ rang out from the door chime. Blimey, I’d forgotten all about the Carer not calling! It was about 08:00hrs. Weekend again, so nothing unusual. Jozeph came in, and we had a natter after he’d done the medications. Not for too long, he had another call to make. Offered him a treat of his choice and asked him to take the waste bag with him, which he did.
Now I got serious about CorelDrawing.
Did the health checks and made up this graph with a photo of the thermometer, sphygmomanometerisationing, and all the results.
I half expected the blood pressure to fall today; cause it’s been excessively high for a few days now.
However, even though I didn’t anticipate it being as low as it was, I was so nearly in the red Zone for the first time ever! , Ahem!
I have no views or ideas of what the readings will reveal or what it will be like tomorrow. A wild guess? Erm… nothing coming through to me from my EQ… stab in the dark, mayhap… SYS 138, DIA 64, Pulse, that will still be high methinks, 92bpm? Body temperature… er… 32.4¸f, And overall, mayhaps, just in the Pre-High bracket? It will be interesting to see now that I’ve had a guess. Of course, it could go up further, and I’ll kick the bucket; that would ruin the guessing game. I wonder if Billum at Manor Labs will have a guess? A clever bloke is that lad.
Oh… Josie’s nosh… back in a bit…
I only just made it in time for the allotted 12:00hrs delivery of the meal for Josie. I hurried that much; I forgot all about taking a photo of it, mind you, had I grabbed one, the delivery would have been late for the first time ever… well, over the last three or four years.
Back in the flat after being told off for giving her too big a nosh, that would make her like Betty Bunter. Hahaha! And made a brew of Glengettie tea.
I made a Morrison order. Initially, to get some of their roasted vegetable ready meals (No one else sells them), the best-prepared meal I’ve ever bought – Bootiful! Coming next Wednesday twixt 8-9:00hrs. Sister Jane would like these methinks.
Went on the WordPress Reader, and WP let me in today.
Food time now; I’ll go and see what’s available. Not a lot. The ‘slimmers’ chips certainly look tatty and have thick skins on every one of the chips. Yet they still tasted so nice – different to any other chips. A significant variance in size too. From 4 inches to ¼ inch in length. Taste Rating: 6.2/10.
Of course, having these chips is all a part of my ‘Get Inchies Belly Slimmer campaign’. I’m determined and have a new tenacity to get lighter! Nothing is going to stop me.
I made an order from Morrisons. I didn’t realise that I had made it for the same day as the Sainsbury one! I got on the computer to change it, but no other day was available. So I managed to get it for later in the day, so they should not arrive at the same time. In’t it a struggle to change an order’s delivery time?
Went to the kitchenette to find I’d left the oven on and the hot tap running! I hate Dementia Doreen!
I turned the oven off and tap… too late for the faucet; the water was stone cold! I’ll have to do the ablutions in the morning. Turned to grab Metal Micky, and somehow I missed him altogether! Not really surprising; the cataracted eyes get a lot worse as I grow more tired. Then, as I bent down to retrieve the walking stick, I got a visit from Dizzy Dennis. I went down on one knee… Thud!
I went to the wet room, and I put some of the Phorpain Gel on the knee. But it has little effect. So I grabbed a packet of Co-codamol and took one. ‘That should ease things, I thought to myself. Ha! What a twit! I realised I’d not taken a Co-codamol, but a Galpharm capsule! Now, these are effective medications! But for blocking up the torpedo’s escape route! I’m not looking forward to my next visit to the !
Finally, I did manage to take a Co-codamol. After checking the taps, I got Metal-Micky and left the wet room… CLUNK! I felt a depression with a trickling of self-pity coming on. Hehe! Walked straight into the doorframe! Back in the wet room, Phorpained the shoulder, as an irritable, annoyed was getting revenge on me for clouting her again.
And feeling a little down, I sat myself down in the £300, used, bought eight years ago from the second-hand shop, Harold Haemorrhoid testing, repugnantly beige-coloured, crumb containing, virus-breeding, acne-giving, rickety, none-working recliner, and the Thought Storms began. I decided it has to be the tiredness and Cataract deterioration causing many of these evenings, Accifauxpas and Whoopsiedangleplops. I can do nothing about this situation and try to be patient while waiting for the cornea operation. Here is the farce so far… The First appointment:
How things developed:
① When the optician told me I had cataracts in both eyes, she informed the Doctor that I would need to have the situation appraised at the EENT department. The Doctor will arrange this for you. ② Eight months later, I got an appointment for the first assessment. Which was for three months later! ③ They kindly put a lift for me to the meeting. On going in with the driver, he was walking so fast, I lost him! Eventually, I found the wrong reception, and the patients waiting helped me find out where I should be with the receptionist with a squeaky voice that I could not hear. ④ I assent to two other locations and had tests of different natures in each one. Then told to go to the reception and book a lift for the following assessment. ⑤ Could I find the proper reception? No! But, a nurse helped me as she passed, and I found it. The following evaluation was for 2 months. The receptionist pointed her finger at the corner of the large waiting room, where I should wait to be collected from. ⑥ I sat down, and within 2 hours, the lift home ambulance arrived.
THE SECOND ASSESSMENT ① On this trip, they dropped me outside the EENT, and I proudly made my way to the reception needed. ② Two completely different examinations in two separate rooms, the lady in the first was pleasant and liked a laugh between the machines I was put on. ③ Then she escorted me to the subsequent office/surgery that was a way off the first. ④ The Doctor in this one did everything silently, forcing himself to speak when he had to. ⑤ I found the proper reception all on my own, and this time, had to wait three hours for a lift home/
THE THIRD ASSESSMENT
① Arrived at the EENT, and the driver kindly escorted me through at a nice slow pace to the reception From where I was sent to yet another different waiting area No reception in that one. ② Only a couple of minutes later, I was fetched into a cramped little office with various weird-looking (to me) optical machines in it. ③ The lady explained that if this test finds things to be out-of-shape, then the operation will not be able to go ahead, and she did the in-depth examination, which took about an hour A smile came over her face when she declared that things as far as this test was concerned are okay for the op She wished me good luck. ④ Told me to return to where I was sat when she collected me, and someone will fetch me for the final checking with the optometrist, who will make the final decision on recommending me to an ophthalmologist for surgery. If it is safe enough, Bless her! ⑤ Ah, this was obviously a decision-making lady. No humour, serious throughout. Knew her job, and seemed good at it as far as I could appreciate ⑥ She had an assistant, a young Asian lad, who did some more tests on a different machine. Testing the reactions of the eye to bouncing colours this one. ⑦ The two of them discussed the findings for ten or fifteen minutes; I could not hear what was said, of course. The lady seemed to be teaching the young man and declared he should do the test again. ⑧ Back to the machine at the man’s desk. I sensed a little tension in the lad, so I gave him a smile and got one back in return, and he seemed to cheer up a smidgeon. As the test was completed, he showed his crossed fingers, which I took as a hopeful sign. ⑧ He sent the details of this test via his computer to the lady’s monitor, and I waited whilst they discussed the new test results.
⑨ Fifteen minutes later, she turned to me and told me that I had a deformed cornea, which was going to be challenging to reproduce in plastic, but she was willing to try, as the chances of success were within official limits. That’s all, she added…
I thanked her and the gentleman and made my way to the first reception to ask for a lift. I got lost en route, but I recovered when advised by someone I asked for guidance.
The wait for the lift home was only about an hour, but the tests had taken so much longer this visit. When I got home, it was turning dark.
The normal nodding off and waking up in a semi-panic, what felt like every few minutes, went on for hours. Eventually, I woke up in a rather desperate and sudden need of a wee-wee! I fumbled about to get to the NWWB (Nocturnal-Wee-Wee-Bucket) in time... Embarrassment and self-hatred all at the same time… I failed to make it! The main reason was the discomfiting . Which came on before I’d got the PPs down… so that was a good thing. Even better was the way with which the Comfort pants contained the leaking liquid. Had I got the PP’s down before it came, I would have been in an even bigger mess! I clasped the lower regions and somehow got to the wet room with the wooden walking stick, and I used the WC. Despite the bladder letting me down again, I found some appreciation in how the PPs coped with it. I was pleased that I changed to these Depend pants now, more than ever. While cleaning things after taking the tinkle and refreshing my body, the need for the Porcelain Throne arrived. As I sat, alternating between trying to do the crossword puzzle and counting the cracks on the ceiling, as I awaited the cement inside to move, I realised how late it was! 06:45hrs! Bit of panic then. I’d got s Sainsbury order coming this morning, twixt 06:00 > 10:00hrs, so I may miss it if I’m stuck sat on the Throne when it comes! I foolishly, mayhaps, tried to force things along with all my might. Once it did start to move, it was swiftly over but so painful. And poor old Harold’s Haemorrhoids were bleeding badly, externally and internally. However, now having some Germoloid to hand, I could clean things up again and ease the stinging. Which I hastily did. I tried the water taps again on the sink to see if the promised repair would provide me with hot water. Nope, just the tepidness once again.
By the time I’d sorted, washed and got dressed, leaving the door open in case the intercom rang, Richard, came in. He was in a rush again, but that did not stop the lad when he heard my tale of the hot water from calling the maintenance to get someone out yet again to look at it. Bless him. Just before he left, the intercom rang, and I asked him if he wanted to wait to get the treats that were on the order. No, he had to go, up to the neck in it. Fair enough. Tanked him as the delivery was arriving. I got the goods checked and returned some podded peas that had a sell by today tag on them. The brown sourdough loaf looked tasty – not to make sure there are no sliced fingers. Hehe!
The flowers for the wardens were what I’d call rustic yellow and red. Got some strawberries for them and chocolates, only need to add some cans of plonk. I rang Deana, but no answer; it might be a little early yet? Burgers for Richard.
Which I did. Glad they had the Germoloids in stock. They didn’t have any of the Parmentier potatoes, Huh! I got stuff stored away, and I intended to get the Health Checks sorted out. Tried calling Deana again to tell her the nibbles had arrived, no reply. Made my first brew of the day, a mug of Thompson’s Punjana. I forgot about doing the blood pressure and called Warden Julie, and I told her of the goodies ready to collect. Then, I got on the computer to update and post the Monday blog. The tea had gone cold. So I went to the kitchen to make another mashing. In came Julie, quickly followed by Deana. I missed out on a natter cause they were talking between themselves, and I could not hear what about. Spit! I think I told them about the hot water.
Was busy making something mechanical, noisily.
It seems the hot water problem the Nottingham City Homes Maintenance could not solve has been passed on to a company called T&S. Not that this chap could solve it for sure. When I asked him what the problem was, he was honest enough to tell me he had no idea. all the tests he carried out showed it should be working properly. The only thing he’d changed was the thermostat, and he turned it up a smidgeon. Well, three hours later, the water was indeed hotter. Nothing like as hot as it used to be, though, but I should be able to have a shave and shower in the morning.
What happened to the day? Nowt was done much, evening carer due shortly. Meal To get done. I’m going to make a chilli stew for myself. And will do my best not to cut any parts of my anatomy, slicing the sourdough bread to dip into the food. Hehe! I’ll it the meal prepared then… Oh, I’ve not done the Blood Pressure yet. I imagine it will be the opposite of yesterday’s panicking high? It does that a lot, up and downing.
Ah, much betterer indeed. In fact, overall, one of the best for ages, methinks? ‘ I bet when I do the BP Graph site, it will be down low in the amber zone.
There, what did I tell yer? Two extremes in two days. Ah, well, food preparation time for me. I can’t help but think I’ve missed or forgotten something? Mmm!
ANOTHER INCHCOCK GASTRONOMIC DISASTER! What was I thinking about? How can even I; make so many cock-ups making just one meal? Easily seems to be the answer! The good bit first, I didn’t cut any fingers slicing the sourdough bread… fair enough, I did drop the loaf, and did Back-Pain-Brenda no good at all, bending down to clear up the crumbs; then knocked the knife off of the counter. But it missed me. just blunted the tip of the knife. It took me that long to clear up the crumbs; I lost more time trying to straighten the tip of the knife than I had to reheat the stew in the microwave.
The first spoonful indicated one of the reasons for the almost uneatable flavour I’d conjured up. (I looked in the waste bin later and realised this was true). I’d added a can of baked beans to the chilli stew, but think I put curry-flavoured beans in the pot, not plain ones! I ate some of it, all the sourdough brown bread that was nice. I was soon back in the kitchen, putting the ¾s of the meal I’d not eaten into food bags to go to the chute in the black bags. Where more causes of the calamity were discovered. The pot of BBQ seasoning I added was actually basil: the pot was still out on the top. Alongside it should have been a bottle of BBQ sauce from which I added a sludge or two to the meal… no, but there was a bottle of balsamic vinegar? I shudder to give the taste rating any score at all it would have had to be a minus score. However, the sourdough bread was delightfully tasty. 1.2/10.
I washed the pots in the nearly hot water from the tap, and I got a packet of seaweed crisps to nibble and settled into the £300, second-hand, c1968, charity shop-bought, eyesorely-horrendously grungy beige coloured, Harold Haemorrhoid-testing, easily-falloutable from, unfit-for-use, not working, recliner, and went into a gloriously dream-filled sleep.
Jodie came in, not ringing the doorbell again. She hovered over my prostrate but crumpled adipocerous bellied body, giving out a loud but cheerful “How are you, okay?” I’m not sure if I answered or not! The visit was a blur, really.
I had planned to get up later and make a start on updating this blog… I meant later in the night. But I drifted off again, and I got another five hours of sleep in! Waking at 03:35hrs, in need of a wee-wee.
What a mess! Got up late, ablutions Throne, Doctors things and list, Carer Richard, Shave changed checked emails. No time for blogging – I had to rush to get to the Doctor’s surgery on time. Three-wheeler trolley; hope I’ve got and done all that is needed, jacket, bus pass to get to the surgery, Carer Richards list of things to mention, etc. Fool! Going to walk back. I’ll only flit through the happenings before the catastrophic events go to, in and coming back from the surgery.
Bless her busy heart ♥
Carer Richard was in a rush again, so a bit of rabbiting and nattering was lost there. I think he had extra calls on again. After much messing about and feeling so unsure of what I was doing, I departed my little flat, and I went down to drop some treats off at the ILC’s (Independent Living Coordinators) office. I met Carol there, and she advised us that Esther is staying in South Africa for another fortnight, so Carol will do my laundry for me tomorrow. I was pleased to hear this; I like Carol.
Also, having missed out on a chinwag with Richard, it was heaven to see and speak to people at the bus stop. Christine, Carol, Deana, Frank, Mark… I was in my eyeholes, although concerned that I get to the surgery on time. The bus arrived, I dropped off on Mansfield Road, and I caught a bus a few stops into Carrington. Hobbled to the surgery, and it had changed so much from my last visit… naturally, that was years ago, I think.
Got into the reception, a new young girl there now. She was behind windows and plastic a bank would have been proud of. She was not too keen on me when I had to keep asking her what she said, ending up with a Hitler-like arm outstretched with a finger, pointing at the waiting area chairs. So I obediently sat down and got the crossword book and magnifying glass out… but I’d forgotten to take a pen with me. Humph! I waited and waited. Folks were coming half an hour later and being called into the surgery. It was apparent that I’d made another cock-up with the timing? Another fifteen or twenty minutes, and I summoned in.
“And what do you want this morning?” I handed her the list, and she typed things off of it into her computer. No signs of interest or concerns; until I told her about the last item, where I had a mind blank and memory blank, in Bulwell and came round hundreds of yards away, in the Pound Land shop. She had another bash at the computer and told me to arrange an appointment with the receptionist for an advanced memory test. Then asked me if I’d booked my Flu jab yet; I swear I heard her ‘tut’ when I said no. Hehe! She changed her mind about me arranging the visits and came out with me and told the receptionist, who gave me a card with the dates on it. I forced a thank you out and meandered out onto Mansfield Road for the walk back to Sherwood. For some reason, it was a memory prompting hobble, an Accifauxpa and injury-acquiring one, as I discovered later. Here are the photographs that were taken, to which I recorded my thought on taking each one: I do my bestest, despite Dementia, Doreen! Hehe!
Well, Tsk!
I caught a number 40 bus back up Winchester Street to the flats. I called in at the Warden’s holding cell office. And showed her the appointment card, asking if she could arrange for a lift there each time, but I could make my own way back. She’s up to the neck in it but said she would – then she noticed something of a mystery; Dang dang dang Dang!
The new surgery receptionist had made a bloomer or two here! (And this, from the second-best surgery in Nottingham certificated, Sherrington Park!)
Deana told me she’d look into it for me and let me know. I thanked her and made my way up to the flat, intent on getting some Phorpain gel on the right knee; it was definitely worse than earlier.
Hobbling slowly now, through the Winwood Court passage to Woodthorpe Court, up in the lift and into the flat. I got the trousers off and checked over the knee from the front…

Made a start on this blog, another late night? This could be serious?
Warden & Skiing Champion Deana called. To tell me the changed confirmed dates and times of the Doctor’s appointments. 19th September 11:00hrs – Mem Test. 24th September 10:30hrs – Flu – Pneumonia jabs. I thanked her muchly. Then got the new times added to the Google Calendar
Sam, or erm… yes, I’m sure it was; arrived, not pressing the door tune button again! She’ll be the death of me. Talk about making me jump! So late now, I’ve spent about six hours on this blogging. I’m going to get something to eat and catch up in the morning… Catch up in the morning? Did I really think that was a possibility?
, I’ve not done the yet, Humph! Better get on with them then – no rest for the wicked!
Well, I put in the analyser… Oh, dearie me!
Got some chips and veggie burgers into the oven. Going to have tomatoes, and the fresh raw garden was with it.
That was the plan, as it turned out, I forgot to put the tomatoes on the dish – it could happen to anyone – with Dementia Doreen in their head. Tsk! I took these two pictures with the Lumix on the ‘Auto’ option. It looked peaceful and calming to me, and I stood a while thinking things over…Until the sound of emergency vehicles, sirens and klaxons could be heard nearby. Twigged me back to reality! I made up the somewhat larger than planned meal, got it on the tray, but could not resist eating some of the fresh raw pod peas before taking it through to the front room. When I settled down with my feet up, the right knee went well down, but the rest of the leg bloated up with water retention. The banging and twisting it in the tumble, the reason I imagine? I took the things through to the kitchenette and got them washed, and to my eyes, the sun was still in the sky as I saw it. So I took this picture, is it the sun, or a hole come gap in the clouds?
I washed things up and returned to the second-hand, £300, c1968, overwhelmingly-sickeningly beige coloured, tatty, uncomfortable, wobbly-recliner. Then walloped and rubbed in a lot of my Phorpain gel. The knee pain was still bad, although it was getting less blotchy and coloured all the time. To help me sleep; if Sweet Morpheus allows me to… less pain should mean fewer waking-ups.
– What an idiot! I remembered that I’d already taken an extra Codeine earlier, then another when Sam gave me the evening medications! I’ll have to look up the risks of taking too many Codeines. I’ll do it now…
Codeine should only be taken as a ‘top up’ or ‘rescue’ painkiller. Codeine may make you feel light-headed, dizzy or drowsy. Make sure you are at home when you take the tablets – Codeine can also cause constipation,
Allergic reactions (itch, hives, skin rash, redness, increased sweating, flushed face, difficulty breathing), death, increased pressure in the skull (painful eyes, changes in vision or headache behind the eyes), fits (convulsions)
Other side effects: Confusion, dizziness, drowsiness, tiredness, changes in mood, nightmares, mental depression, restlessness/excitement, headache, hallucinations (seeing, feeling or hearing things that are not there), feeling sick (nausea), constipation, vomiting, dry mouth, abdominal pain (may be caused by spasm of the bile ducts), low body temperature, blurred or double vision, tiny pupils, (Sorry, not this; I thought it said extremely small penis) palpitations, low blood pressure, low blood pressure on standing, slow or fast heartbeat, malaise (general discomfort), pain and difficulty in passing water, uncontrolled muscle movements and rigidity, decrease in sex drive.
Hehehe! I’m sorry I bothered you now. All the red-coloured risks I’ve already got. So taking extra Codeine should make little difference to me.
I’ve just two pairs of the not-so-effective Morrisons PPs left. But fear not, for tomorrow, all being well, I’ve got some fresh ones arriving from Amazon. These Depend Comfort type Protection Pants are not as thick as the chunky show-through your trousers Morrison ones. They are cheaper than Morrison’s, but then again, Morrison’s prices have increased more than other places, so it’s not a surprise. I find the Depend ones will protect in the event of any suddenly unstoppable wee-wee or blood from the rear end leaks, better than all the other PPs I’ve tried. Not a topic that should be on here, perhaps. But I know the benefit of using these pants. I’d like to pass this on to any other sufferers. Economical and trustworthy. Never let me down yet.
I got down in the recliner and dropped off in no time! Great! Besides that, apart from one waking for a wee-wee that had what felt like gallons of , Hehehe, I was in the land of nod for about six hours.
CARTOON OF THE DAY – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Off to the wet room, where it was almost a pleasure to evacuate myself. Well, apart. I made a largely unwanted order with J Sainsbury’s later when I got back from the Diabetes session – mainly to order two tubes of Germoloid Cream. They didn’t have any of the ointment in stock; for next Monday. Shame! I got on with having a wash and getting changed into new PPs, socks, trews and the jacket with loads of pockets. I cunningly put the money, coins on the left, and notes in the right-hand side pockets. Thinking, they would be easier to get to when paying for the transport. Hearing-aid batteries, camera, keys and tissues into the lower side pockets. Got the shoes on with some difficulty – although not a patch of the problems I had getting the socks on. Then the glasses into the trolley-walker basket, with pen and notepad, oh, and the Course booklet.
It took me a while getting out of the flat due to the I got to the door, trolley ready to be removed, and went back inside for endless checks. ① Are the taps all turned off? ② Did I leave the oven on? ③ Have I closed the fridge and freezer doors properly? ④ Did I close the balcony door? No doubt there were other things I checked on. Tsk!
Eventually, I got out, locked the door and down into the main ground floor lobby. I’d spent longer than I meant to with the double-checking, and it was 10:15 already. So I got myself outside so that the minibus driver could see me easily enough waiting. He couldn’t miss my bulk. Hehe! I took these two photos from outside the foyer. Then had a chinwag with the caretaker while outside. I’d not seen or spoken with them for over a year. I thought they might have come to see me and asked if things were okay, with me not getting out much… but no. While we were nattering, the CT4N bus arrived.
Two drivers in it today. That meant I could talk to the one in the back with me. I enjoyed that a lot. A good laugh. They took the route that I would have taken, not the long roundabout route of last time. And this meant I was charged the proper rate, not overcharged as before. Hope these lads come next time. Hehehe! They dropped me off in the Riverside Carpark, and I remembered the way to get into the reception area. I sat next to a chap who was a Carer. We swapped tales, and I really enjoyed that gossiping session, too! I followed his lead; up in the lift, and he found which room we were using. It was almost full of people, and only one spare chair available. I apologised to everyone as I had to squash the three-wheeler in beside me. Causing a few tuts and shuffling of people’s chairs to let me in. I felt a smidge guilty! Tsk!
It was far easier than last week but still far from perfect for hearing what was being said and seeing the thingamajig, hoojamaflip, on the wall with course details. Oh, what-d’you-call-it?Ah, projector screen! But did take part this time, I asked four questions over the session, and I got one of two answers each time. “We’ll be discussing that at a later session”, or “Yes, but it is too early yet to bring this into the discussion. As we were about to wrap things up, and the room emptied in a hurry, the chap next to me told me my phone was ringing. I could not see who had phoned me and was using the magnifying glass to find out but was moved out to make room for the next whatever who had hired the room could move in. As I left the room, the Community Transport driver was getting out of the lift and was not happy at being kept waiting. She had other people waiting to be picked up, she said. What could I do? No clock in the meeting room, and I could not see the time on the mobile. And didn’t realise the time. So, I cringed and apologised. A good job this lady didn’t pick up cause she took the elongated route back to the flat. Which would have cost me double what I was charged. Phew!
Dropped me off outside the main doors, and I thanked her muchly and got inside the foyer. A got the Lumix camera out of my pocket and started taking a few photographs on the way.
Not a soul in sight. It had had a facelift recently, I reckon. There was a large beetle-like, brown & yellow creature on the pot plant leaves, and I thought I’d try to get a close-up shot of it. As I neared it with the camera, I realised it couldn’t have been a beetle, the flipping thing flew away, it didn’t half make me jump. Hehehe! I very nearly dropped the camera! Still hadn’t seen anyone to pester and gossip with. But I’m not complaining; I’ve got a good few chatterings in today, a worthwhile trip!
Not looking forward to the Doctor’s visit on Tuesday at all. I’ve just got a feeling about it in the gut. Stay tuned in to find out what went wrong. For something will, EQ has never been wrong yet. Although I’d welcome it if he was this time. The notice board that I have not read in years was about to be perused… Suddenly the rear end spurted wind, and I was certain an involuntary evacuation was on its way! I hastened to the lift, and it seem to take 15 minutes to arrive… it was probably one minute, if that… but felt so much longer as I gripped my cheeks and prayed I could make it up to the flats Porcelain Throne room in time… I was in such a panic; I can’t recall going up in the lift. My next memory was sitting on the Throne and sighing so loud with relief that I did make it in time, not a lot in it, mind. Is my luck changing? Mmm?
This shot of the Chestnut Way front car park outside Woodthorpe Court showed black, white and grey vehicles, and only one red one today.
The Nottingham City Homes letter about the Winwood Courts flats security breaches was given the magnifying glass treatment.
The evening carer is due anytime now. The day’s gone quickly; so glad I stayed up to start this blog template last night, or it wouldn’t have gotten done at all. Another bit of luck, mayhap? Now, this can’t be right…
I’d better get something to eat sorted out, then. Last, of the thin fries, bean pastie, and tomatoes, that’ll do. Heartbeat just starting, so I can have 15 minutes watching it before adding the pastie to the chips in the oven. It’s all planned here, you know, Hehehe! Of course, it didn’t work out like that.
Jozeph arrived. I’ve not seen him for a while. We managed a few words of natter, but the lad had to rush off; he’d got some extra calls to do.
Back to the cooking. Took this photo of the odd-looking weather with the light on the ground but dark in the sky view.
Finally, I got the nosh sorted out and served on the tray.
It didn’t look very appetizing, it didn’t taste very good either, and left me with tummy aches. Thankfully that was the last of the terrible thin fries. Flavour-Rating: 5.5/10.
Kept waking up repeatedly. around 01:00hrs, I gave up and got up and on with updating this blog.
It took seven years, to get sorted. How can the morons expect me to be in debt for VAT, with about 0.6% VATables of the total sales of £900 weekly, and demand £19k from me… well!
Gits!

I woke with a new papule!
So, here are a few photos I managed to take miraculously… Boring noshes, one taken today… after which the Lumix decided to not let me take anymore, just when I was almost getting excited and thinking I’d cracked it! Frustration grows! What have I done it?
Sunday – Josies Nosh
Incidentally, after serving up Josie’s and eating my own lunch, I suddenly felt so tired. I was feeling fine before this. Then had a mind-blank and was incapable of doing virtually anything. Didn’t touch the computer for about 15 hours! Until this morning. Mind you, I woke up feeling back to normal. But decided I had to get to see the Doctor! And waited until Richard came in, hours late. He’d got in a pickle that delayed him. But the lad was really looking worn out and so tired, he did not offer to ring the surgery. He just wanted sleep, something the lad had problems with without having to do a 16hr shift. He’s done his best and asked their head office to ring me or let me know he’d be late.
Bit of cock-up there on my behalf. I did get a phone call but thought it was the spammer man, he had the same Asian accent, and I thought he said he was ringing from Virgin, so rang off! Oh, dear, it must have been Meridian, he said! I felt terrible about that. But it’s no wonder I want someone to phone the surgery, is it? So when Richard had gone, I rang Deana. Explained the problem with last Friday’s mind-blank when I was at Bulwell and another today. Also quickly mentioned the cataract getting worse, as was the hearing. Also, I reminded her that she failed to turn up Friday. Poor gal was ultra-busy, s I expected from the tone of her voice on Freitag. Bless her, she only asked ME – to phone and remind her in the morning! Me! For her to call and ring the surgery for me. Hahaha! Worra life, innit? It never gets any easier. Oh, the photos…
My nosh, before the funny turn.
Jelly and once cream for afters. By gum, I’m gourmet… is that the right word to use?
Today’s lone photo! Of the CorelDraw screen, This was taken five minutes before CorelDraw crashed yet again! Humph! Mind-blanks, Little Inchies Fungal Lesion Bleeding, Cataract Cathy making things hard work, and a devil of a lob to get any help getting things done… that made me think. What am I having for a nosh? I wish I’d bought more of the roast vegetable cottage pie meals now. They were excellent tasting.
No stopping me I ordered some more from Morrison’s via Amazon. If I go on like this, it’ll be a struggle to pay the Carer’s costs. I blame Dementia Doreen, personally. I hate her and Cataract Cathy. Gragknagles! I know what I’ll have. I’ve two vegetable burgers left that I could not see the use-by date of. Richard looked this morning, and I think he said a day left on it, that and some sliced potatoes, mayhap?
Took me hours to get this blog done, but I did enjoy it, apart from CorelDraw letting me down again. Each time does that, it’s another half hour finding out where I saved the last one, then save the new rescued one in the same name.
I shall now start cooking the meal. Done that. Now to get this finished, titivated and posted.
DISASTER! The Canon, then the old Fuji, gave up the ghost on me! Cragknangles! ———————————–
Eventually, I got yesterday photo’s saved. Obviously, before the cameras joined forces to really piss me off!
I’ve got all uptight and am no longer which are for Thursday or Friday. Well, the first one is Thursday.
Somewhat bloated, methinks. So much so that the pressure forced the blood out when I had my first toe-stumping of the day.
Car Park from the kitchenette window.
Ah, Thursday’s nosh.
Followed by some Ice cream!
Many taken, as this morning, many of them lost into the ether!
Friday Morning, my feet are not so bad now!
Morning views
Fridays Health Checks Up a bit?
Unsure about this one. The Iceland delivery came, but no photos were attainable; they were not saved on the card or internal memory. Well miffed! Spent hours trying different things in hopes of getting some, but no luck.
Carer Richard came. Asked if he could help with the Fuji. Nope!
I’ve ordered an old Lumix Camera. Should be here twixt 23rd & 25th August. It’s new, but a very old one, I’m assuming that’s why it was cheaper than the others. I’m hoping I can cope with setting it up. Also, I’ve got the hearing aids that Lisa petal donated to me so kindly. But they are naturally small, and I cannot see the words with my glass eye either. I asked Richard if he could assist. Nope! Can’t blame him; he was yawning. He’s been at work for around eleven hours. Poor lad.
Spent hours and hours trying to get the camera’s going again. Humph! Of course, they should have Christened me; no luck! Then concentrated on taring to get some more photos rescued. I found a few more, but I am unsure when I took them.
Thursday? No idea! Might have put this on earlier and the lower one. And again… Of course, I could be wrong… The carer read the label cooking instructions and wrote them down for me. Artwork from a dear friend in America. Patti, from when I had the heart op ♥ Bless you, Patti!
Seaweed Snacks Delivered! Friday fridge. Crap Health Check Photo? Evening Carer due any time now. Gawd, I’m tired now. The camera’s situation is no better, but… I had one last go at the Fuji – and the new ‘Old’ Lumix was delivered early today! I got it out of the box and tried to get it on charge. There is a plug and computer cable thingy. I got it on the plug socked post haste to charge. I could not see alight lit up on the camera. An hour or so later, I changed the set-up, and put the USB in the card reader, still couldn’t see the light on. Did some computing and had another look at the Lumix. Well, what a pillock! Not really; the letters were too small for me to read; I asked Malcolm if I’d got it in the right hole – I hadn’t!
Swapped the plug into the little hole, and a little red light lit! So at least I know it’s charging. For the first job, when it’s up and running, set the date & time. Then select the picture size. Going to get summat to eat now. Carers late? Or is it me?
ODE to another Failure
Hours of finding how to change the frame size… well, trying, My willpower and hopes were dying, I considered wailing and crying… I’d had enough mind-boggling… The small buttons were beyond seeing, Tired from the mental schemozzling, I gave up trying, and I turned to dithering, I’d be better off grimacing and turning!
I woke in need of a wee-wee. Assessed the time I’d had sleeping; 3-hours… better than two! While waiting for the after-leaking to stop, it took a while; I remembered the food delivery coming twixt 07:00>08:00hrs. The feet and legs were looking just fine this morning. So good, I may advertise them as a pair of 1947 legs and feet for sale. Hehe!
So, I got the sphygmomanometerisationing tended to. Then, speedily got the body temperature taken before the sphygmomanometer turned itself off to catch both sets. When I entered the results into the NHS DVT site, it would not let me put in 39 for the DIA, just told me that DIA has to be a minimum of 40. Please check your figures! So, I put 40 in to get a graph up. How frustrating to know that I must be dead with a 39 Reading. Of course, it didn’t bother me in the slightest. At least I know that’s two of us old uns that is still alive. The arrogant, noisy snotty Herbert from above started a tap-tapping, clunk concerto. So he’s not snuffed it yet, either. The view from the kitchenette window was so like an oil or water painting this morning. A Constable, mayhaps? Which reminds me, I’ve not seen a policeman on foot in Sherwood since January. No wonder crime has risen! The intercom flashed, and it was the William Morrison order arriving. One of the most disappointing deliveries, other than Iceland’s, of course, that I’ve ever had. Here’s the sad, hardly believable story. The men, through the goods into the two delivery boxes, naturally with cakes going in first, to be squashed by blah and water bottlers. Got the things sorted and put away, but t’was not easy.
They had some of the Jacob’s Leicester Cheese cheddar biscuits. I bought four packets, as they are my favourites. Taking them out of the box. Do you notice only three on the counter? Glad to report they have not substituted the Roast Vegetable Risotto, another of my personal favourites. That’s because one packet was torn open, and broken biscuits were all over the other food. I got them in a lidded tub and threw the other emancipated bits of bikkies into the waste bag. Then, disappointed, they had swapped the vegan mushroom pate with a caramelised pork & onion version. Huh!. Still, Richard can have that in the morning.
The fridge looked mighty low in stocks, even after I’d got the fresh foods packed away! The three packets of mini rolls were reduced to two; they were crushed but not as bad as the third packet, which had burst open, and I ended up washing off the sticky goo from other items delivered. By the time I’d sorted things out, I’d eaten a load of broken cheddar biscuits, a whole six mini rolls from the burst open and pre-mashed cakes. It all came back to why I stopped using Morrison direct and went to Amazon. But Morrison does not offer all their range when using Amazon, and when I read they had some Leicester flavoured cheddars, I just had to have some! Cragknangles! Sorry I bothered now!
MEAL-PREPPING: I spent the next few hours preparing Josie’s Chilli dinner. A bit of a mind-testing job… Why? I’ll tell yer!
①: The Iceland mushrooms that still had two days in-date showing; had shrivelled and gone grey. Comically, they had a Guarantee of Freshness sticker on the pack! So I had to use canned ones, which threw out my timing to get other things to be ready simultaneously.
②: Getting the potatoes done separately, as I usually do, so I can add some basil. I sliced them into Josie’s bite-size cubes and got a cut-down fingernail! ③: When I got the frozen leeks out of the freezer, attacked, I dropped the bag, and it burst on contact with the floor. I struggled to get things cleaned up, and Back-Pain-Brenda kicked in. ④: After much kerfuffling, sorting and swearing, I got the meal into one pan and on low heat to marinate. ⑤ By then, Guilt had set in when I realised all the cheddars and mini Swiss rolls I’d eaten while preparing Josie’s food.
Started blogging, at last. Not going too badly, and I went to check on Josie’s meal progress… I realised it was twenty-to-twelve already! I got the meal served up, cleaning up as I went along. As I was lifting the finished tray… an epiphany! I noticed that the kitchen clock was showing 10:50hrs. Confused now! I nipped into the front room to check the watch time, and it concurred with the kitchen clock. Had misread the wristwatch earlier. Oh, dear, what do I do now? I bravely took a gamble and delivered the meal to Josie’s door. Embarrassed beyond belief! I mumbled my pathetic Whoopsiedangleplop in getting the time wrong to Josie. I don’t think she was impressed. But she accepted the meal anyway. Like a guilty pet dog, I thanked her and scurried back into the flat. Red-faced and something of panic mode came over me.
Suddenly, I felt so tired, and a touch of Dizzy Dennis appeared. Waking up four hours later! Woken by the evening carer. I was not hungry, having digested the biscuits and cakes earlier, so I got myself down in the £300, second-hand, c1968, charity shop-bought, eyesorely-horrendously grungy coloured, haemorrhoid-testing, easily-falloutable, unfit-for-use, not working, recliner.
Arrived. Gave me the tablets one at a time but missed off the Codeine. Luckily I was more with after the kip, and I noticed. No nibbles or drinkies accepted in thanks, and he did not take the waste bags to the bin for me… and I forgot to ask her to. Tsk! She seemed a little withdrawn, just tired, methinks.
I got on with the updating of this blog. Well, this is going to take some time. Luckily the most activity was me, sleeping. Hahaha! Got the post done eventually.
Over an hour or so of slogging away on the computer, I took these three pictures of the sunsetting from the kitchenette window. I liked the last one.
The legs, feet, and ankles were slightly inflamed after days of calmness.
I think an ulcer is doing its best to erupt on the left ankle now. The right one looks and feels a bit raw, so I took off my trews. It’s hot tonight, and I’ve got the balcony doors wide open.
I had a bash at the Snippets blog; I might get it finished. Then again… (I didn’t, but I did it in the morning). Made a simple nosh. Curried chips (fries), tomatoes and fresh raw garden peas. I’d found eight escaped peas at the last count (Monday morning). The highlight was the one I discovered in the wee-wee bucket…Haha! Beats me: the bucket was about five feet from the recliner where I shelled and ate the peas and meal! The last photograph of the evening sky taken from the kitchenette window. Bootiful Nature!
With the nodding of this afternoon, sleep did not come very easily or quickly. It did eventually, belatedly putting the TV on, helped, I think. Soon as the adverts came on, I was off into the land of nod!
My scribbled reminder notes were lost! Well, I say lost; I tore them up thinking they were Wednesdays. Gragnangles! So detailed facts are missing will be missing.
Sphygmomanometerisationing revealed SYS 148, DIA 62 and pulse at a reasonable rate of 79mpm. Pleased with these numbers, I entered the results in the NHS Cardiac Check You Rates site & then made this little graphicalisation, just for the fun of it (Yes, I’m just a child at heart… and a 99-year-old, bodily) Hehehe, Extra pleasing to be only just in the red, for three days now.
Of course, with my bungee-jumping, gym work, hill-climbing and daily push-ups, The wee-wees started coming. Each one
Taking the advice from HRH Petal-Lisa, a kind. She’s one lovely lady from Cincinnati, The Manor Laboratories: I took the evening’s Seed Oil Hemp capsule and a squirt of under-tongue CBD. Yes, I know it’s morning, but I forgot to take the last night, it could happen to anyone… Ahem!)
In the past fifteen minutes, I’ve wee-weed a further four times. Every one of them, annoyingly with much. So irritating! I had a quick chat with my animal family in their bed-box tray on the cabinet. Incidentally, HRH Petal-Lisa, my ether Angel made each one for me and posted them from the USA for Christmas! ♥ We’ve never met, but somehow through the ether, Lisa has got to know me well. ♥ Thanks, my Angel!
The Iceland food arrived, causing me a fair bit of pain! The driver put the first four bags in the hallway for me and the last one (on the left) close to the doorway. Several 2-litre bottles hit my knee on their way down to hit my toes, and picking them up, I stubbed my big toe again! Whereunto he’d been treated and gone, the bottles fell out of the bags, and I had to be standing next to them when it happened, of course.
I got the frozen foods into the freezer; well, it seemed like a logical move – Hehe!). No No-Bull veggie burgers or Spring Water were unavailable yet again! The bread was substituted. I’d got some 2-litre bottles of limeade and lemonade as substitutes for the water. Sorted out the other bits and took the waste to the rubbish chute. And, getting the bags in the opening, I cunningly dropped a bag that landed on the leg ulcer. It inflamed it for a while, but the ankle was still much better than yesterday! The legs, feet and toes are not so chubby, either. I gave myself a knock on the shoulder coming out of the room. Memory blanks from here on for a while; I can recall taking this night shot late on. Not taking the Hemp, so staying asleep was not possible; always jumping awake. So I got up and made a much-belated meal. It was a good one, mind you. Flavour Rating; 8.2/10. Followed by an orange jelly, and I sprayed all around it with a vegan cream substitute. Jolly good that was too! WordPressing for hours, ended up doing it until 04:00hrs in the morning, so sleep deprivation continues. I can only blame Dementia Doreen!
FRIDAY 22nd JULY 2022
The thoughts for this Ode matured… After Inchy stubbed his toe and simpered… And logicality and reasoning were suspended, Commonsense and judgement were temporarily abandoned… Inchies creativity stuttered and wandered!
The English language was primarily disregarded, His few remaining grey cells working, both tottered… Suddenly captivated with the thought of being sepultured? Inchy was never educated or cultured… His trepidations, worries, and fears, are never resolved…
How come he has never been happy, content or cavorted?
Here is his Ode, although it won’t be extolled!
My mind used to be like a constellation…
Grasping facts, and figures, offering help and confirmation,
Making things efficient, through thoughts and modification,
Famed for my excellent, calm use of conceptualisation,
Seeking improvements for all, through rumination,
Then the Stroke, brain power went into absquatulation…
Next; Peripheral Neuropathy, arithmophobia, ‘Damnation!’
Now paramnesia, memory problems… depression!
Suffering many a mental aberration…
Fears, worries, oppression, no passion!
Shakes and shudders, aches & pains, tumbles, concussion…
Vascular Dementia Doreen, giving me mental fossilisation,
My life needs some lightness, feuilleton!
Making decisions and choices need extra persuasion!
Food prices rocketing; I can no longer afford my stilton…
Gone are the urge, ability and cash for any perversion,
No strength for any insurrection, rebellion or subversion,
Wee-weeing too much, the odd Porcelain Throne explosion…
Stuck indoors with my misery, apathy and mental inertion…
I hate my good health and mental abilities desertion…
Failures and accidents come in an endless succussion!
Friday next is my first Diabetes Coping session!
Have to go now; it’s time for creams, injection and medication,
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Yea, Gawd of heaven! I know the recent Blood Pressure readings have been good for the last few days, only just in the red zone, but today, the SYS was 111, the lowest ever recorded in my life! And in the green area!!! DIA at 57 was down 5 points, and my Pulse rate was down 8. .
Oh, boy, I’, in the green,
The lowest that it’s ever been!
Amazing, fantastic, I mean…
This really blew my brain…
I hope tomorrow it’s that again!
Got the session done with a visit from Dizzy Dennis in the shower, short and sharp, all over. Probably caused by my diabetic polyneuropathy, compared to anything else, because it started so sharply and ended the same way. Minutes later, I needed to return to the wet room to use the and what a struggle that was. Talk about resistance! The swelling in the feet was no worse, and the ankle ulcer much easier for my getting around,
I got on with the blogging updating and spent an hour or so at it, needing three wee-wees during that time… then… I went into the kitchen to put the kettle on, and the heat and smell of burnt plastic greeted me! I’d put the kettle on earlier but had not heard the whistle to alert me it was boiling!
Had to use the oven gloves to get the warped, melted plastic handle and lid-lift kettle, and I dropped it into the sink, filling it with cold water straightway! Then had to clean mess up; the cooker, floor, bag up the kettle and the melted bits and apices that had dropped off, putting things in the sink. Then wrote this sad ode to the kettle. (Mad? Me? Yes!)
The morning Carer arrived, Valerie. I gave her her choice of cold drink from the fridge, and she took the caste bags from earlier to the chute for me (Not the kettle, I took that, in case any sharp bits cut the Carer), Checked on the ankle ulcer, and it was getting a little fighter? Half an hour later, it had gone down and all calm again?
Cragknangles! Off to the wet room to clean up, medicate, and get new PPs on. Hehehe!
You can’t win… well, not me!
