05:10hrs; Got up to get the ablutions done before the Carer arrived. A lousy ablution session… mind you, the evacuation was a good one. Hahaha!
The blogging was another nightmare. mistakes, errors, corrections and frustrations.
It was Sister Jane. Meridian Care had phoned her to see if my Caregiver had arrived yet. Poor Jane is not an early riser—the opposite, actually. She was coughing away; she’s got the Lurgie, too. Naturally, she did not know. I expect a late call this morning. But it doesn’t matter at all to me. We had a natter, and I listened to her problems for a change. She asked why they did not call me. But, to be fair, they may have when I was in the wet room. Also, I’m not sure if my new telephone number has been passed on to them or not. I gave it to the flats Meridian set-up. He came later anyway. No problems.
The pain from Little Inchies Fungal Lesion was horrendous all day long. It didn’t calm down until well late in the night. The Carer saw my state and rang for advice. Said they would send someone to check on it on Monday. We’ll see. – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Dark, too dark again.
Tried to take a photograph or two of the moon. The first one was fairish, the second warped.
Off to the wet room for a shower, shave and shush.
The preshave medicationalisationing was a fiddly and, at times, painful experience. It was the most painful and medicating session ever! Things have not been right down there since the last nurse replaced the catheter. I don’t need to move, and he hurts! If I could, I’d bottle the pain and send it to the Doctors with a note: “Here you are, try some of this now will you listen to me and help?”
Ablutions were sorted, alarm wristlets and alert bands on, and my ear holes were olive oiled. I struggled to stop stopped and creamed. , Cream on the . Barrier Creamed all around . Then tended to the bruise from the INR blood drain. Doesn’t usually show up this bad The feet & ankles were looking healthier. I turned to leave with the waste bin in hand and traditionally gave the door frame a charge with my right shoulder, setting off a few minutes’ worth of pain from .
Worst Ablution Session in a long time.
Took the made up bin gag to the front door. Can you see a face in the carrier bag? Think of Red Dwarf’s Kryten’s face. I could see it. Hehe!
The carer was late, not that it mattered. Half an hour later, the landline rang out, making me jump. It was Sister Jane. Meridian Care had phoned her to see if my Caregiver had arrived yet.
I concentrated on the hard slog of blogging for hours and hours; just not very successfully. Little Inchie was so painful at times, which did not help me concentrate on blogging. Humph!
Carer Kimberley arrived. She could not give me any painkillers because it had not been 4 hours between calls. So I took some Paracetamols. The pain from poor Little has never been worse. I took off the PPs I put on after washing, hoping it would not irritate things as much. But no, it’s just as bad now. With not having the pants on, I caught myself catching the catheter tube more often; AARGH!
What an amazing hue!
Despite the discomfort and sheer agony from little , the wee was flowing freely.
I added a packet of PP’s to the Asda order for Tuesday. I tried some different kinds this time
Carer Israel arrived while I was struggling to walk into the kitchen and showed his concern for me. That was nice. He rang someone and spoke to them. 111 probably. He told me they said it was likely to be an infection and a nurse would be calling to check it out tomorrow. Bless his cotton socks. He also had a quick sweep-up in the kitchen for me when he saw how painful it was for me to bend, stretch, bend, walk and keep a hold on things. I much appreciated his efforts.
Back on the blog. Then noticed how bright it looked outside, and I took this truly wonderful shot with … I love this one. . Bootiful!
. Zoomed-in shot. . Wider shot.
Burnt to perfection! Just how I love them to be.
. What a magnificent view, From my kitchen window, too, I’m pleased with these two, I went into Smug-Mode, anywho, Not a smudge, blotch or curlicue, Decent sky shots were overdue, Best view, hitherto!
This physical and mental collapse every afternoon has gone on for three days now. No… Four! Today, it came over me even earlier. My plan was to at least sit down, with a chance of nodding off; then, after Carer Kara helped me again, but she only had 10 minutes allowed for the visit. Bless her. Carer Helen made the last call, I was to get back to blogging again. I’d given up trying to sleep and was eating the meal when she arrived. Then, as the gal left, after medicating and taking off my diabetic socks from my legs, I went into a deep sleep, which didn’t last for long and was in patches. Every time I went into bliss, shortly one of the would unceremoniously burst me back awake. About 2 hours later, I gave up trying and started to potter about. Anyway, I didn’t get back on the blog until around about 03:00hrs on Friday morning, and I had a mammoth task of catching up on it. Which I am currently in the process of doing, accompanied by the World Wide Hum, and a rattling coming from I know not where. Better get on with it…
I carried the nocturnal pouch with me as I tried to remove it. I accidentally tugged the tube as I released the valve for emptying and immediately felt the warm, wet feeling of blood in the PPs! I got it cleaned up. Then I sorted out the waste bags into one, ready for collection, and placed them near the front door of the flat. I took a snap of the morning view from the kitchenette. It’s not a good one, but it was fairly good for me. Is there a nice eeriness about it? After an hour or so on CorelDraw, uploading and resizing the Kodak Tim pictures, an email from Sainsbury’s came in. I went to the wet room and utilised the ever-popular. Once again, the evacuation failed, and after much urging and inner pushing, I gave up. Knowing there was possibly a gigantic torpedo in the queue that may need some help seeing the light of the WC basin, I made and drank a drink of an ‘Ease-it-along sachet’.
The Caregiver arrived, Victor or Israel. I think I can’t read the name on the log. My memory is blank on this visit, so it could have been anyone. An hour or so later, the J. Sainsbury order arrived. I did struggle a little getting the bags, one at a time, into the kitchen. Well, I did not struggle; I just took extra care not to catch the tubing in Little . The bananas came all ready-bruised to save me the effort of dropping them, so it was kind of Sainsbury’s. I got some vegan Maryland cookies, passata sauce with Mediterranean vegetables, and drinks for the nurses and carers. I also got fresh fries; they may get cooked and tasted tonight, methinks. Maybe the Anya potatoes be eaten tomorrow? They are grown only on the Monarch’s farms. Hence, Lord Sainsbury is the only person allowed to sell them. (I’m full of useless snippets) The fridge was now fullerer than ever! Ready meals, lemon curd yoghourts, potato rosis, the lemon curd dip pots on the bottom shelve? Gorgeous! I got a big pack of the JO2 favourites for the treats shelf. They may last a week or more. The most popular of the drinkies on offer these are. I also got a few of these pots of jelly in a new flavour. Not a good photo. (I’m good at doing these types, Hehe!) So you may not be able to read the label. They are… honestly, a Gin & Tonic Flavour, jelly! I can’t see these being well-liked. I wonder what they put in it to get the taste?
A little drizzle was spotted when I was cleaning the side of the cooker later on. I took it through the kitchen window glass to try to catch the raindrops on the pane.
During the next half an hour, I got three parcels delivered.
The first was socks, three pairs, I think, of long diabetic ones, expensive ones, too! The second was socks, two pairs of thinner, longer diabetic socks. These were even more expensive, cost me a fortune. But I didn’t get the last two new pairs back from the laundry. They think someone half-inched my laundry and a new bag. I never saw any of them again. Humph! The third delivery was socks. Six pairs of the wrong type. Hehe! I’d made a great cock-up, mistake, error with this order. As Carer Kara found out and told me yesterday. I thought I’d ordered Diabetic Bamboo socks. Kara pointed out that they were cotton ones. Boing! But it was too late for me to cancel. So then I proceeded to make yet another . I ordered one of the first two above while Kara watched to make sure I didn’t get it wrong again. After she’d gone, I checked again on Amazon and found the cheaper, although still dear, bamboo socks. I believe I’d cancelled the first pairs and ordered the cheaper pairs instead – But no! I ordered two lots! I’ve not opened the packs yet; I’ll do that tomorrow. I feel like such a fool! If anyone would like a 3-pack of gents long cotton socks.
I took a shot of the end car park this afternoon. Then the Fatigue and weariness, along with my body’s instruction to get some sleep, arrived. I decided to get something to eat first after closing down the computer. There were chips, beans, sausages, and a baguette. The JS baguette was too sweet for my liking and crumbled too easily. As I got served up, the evening Carer Helen arrived. I’d not seen her for ages, I thought she’s left. I planned to get a kip and then restart this blog. The best-laid plans of mice and men! Or, in Robert Burns’s original, “The best-laid schemes o’ mice an’ men / Gang aft a-gley.” Not a chance of nodding off. I even tried the TV again, but no luck.
I moved into the bed. Just as the night before, I got settled, and the catheter night pouch was hanging down. I lit the torch on the overbed table and got into the bed. I nodded off pretty quickly again. No idea how long for; it felt like five minutes, and then kicked off striking at will. Well, Inchy! I got up, which wasn’t easy at all. In fact, I was a bit worried about this new ailment trait. kept stinging, then failing. Not all the time, but regularly enough.
By the time I’d got a drink of spring water, tripped over the tubing, and I’d taken this Kodak Tim photo of the moon or sun. Sun, surely? Was it this early yet? I think I may have made another chronologically here. I know, but even a man of my extreme intelligence, quickness and clarity of mind, and amazingly reliable super-concentration powers can make the rare, occasional mistake. Ahem! had stopped bothering me. I’m sure it is worse electric shock-wise when I get into the bed, but why?
I got down in search of sleep again, this time back in the £300 second-hand shop purchased, c1966, welt-causing, uncomfortable, not-working, itch-inspirational, crumb-containing recliner. It didn’t help. As tired out as I felt, either or both the body and brain would not let me sleep! The Gits!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – The giving up in need of sleep arrived even earlier today. I was doing really well, considering the lack of sleep last night. (15 minutes) – I gave up trying and rose (02:00hrs) to visit the wet room. I washed, shaved and had a near-normal evacuation this morning. But I was struggling to get my head together, although it cleared shortly afterwards. I was surprised at how well I was doing mentally and physically under the circumstances. Naturally, this was not to continue. I knew somehow that the ‘Big Fade‘ was bound to fall sooner or later. I took a snap of the morning view.
The Asda order arrived; thank heavens I’ll not need another until Wednesday 28th (On order)
I sorted the waste bags. Later, Shaquille took them to the rubbish chute for me. That was kind of him. The Asda order arrived.
This is a big one this time. Four items are missing, I’m glad there were, too! Well, they were out of stock. While taking the carriers filled by the driver for me to the kitchen, Carer Shaquille arrived and got the others. After tending to my needs, off he trotted and I sorted the groceries out. I’d got some drinks in for the bladder encouraging. Buxton Spring water as usual. Baguettes and the potato cake rissoles, rosis whichever they are called; I love the taste and flavour of these! I got caramelised sausages, lemon desserts, and some Jerk Patties. I also had tomatoes and Frankfurters. I may be tired out, but I think I will eat well this week. A ready-made meal feast!
Cumberland pies, Shepherd’s pie, sausage & mash, and, what I plan to have for today, a Toad in the Hole meal for two, it said on the box?
It was a challenge to get everything in the fridge. I tried various combinations to get all the fodder into the fridge.
As you can see, it wasn’t easy to do. Hehehe!
Although the freezer was filled, and I got all three breads and baguettes in alright, I’m just glad I forgot to order any chips and pasties because they would never have fit in. Haha!
Got on the computer and started with CorelDraw, putting on the SD cards photos from .
Then I went to the kitchen to get the kettle on. I made a brew, and then I went back to the computer, where I diligently stayed grafting away until arrived. She didn’t have much time, but she checked my order for the diabetic socks from Amazon, and she found I’d ordered the wrong ones! Then she selected some proper bamboo socks, and put in an order for some of them. ETA tomorrow by 22:00hrs. I’ll be scared to try to sleep now, in case I miss them. You can’t win, can you? Well, I can’t.
Started feeling tired & weary again. I was about to save everything down ready to close down the computer, and a message from Norton came on the screen. Something like… the writing; “We have found 3,429 errors on your hard drive. Click here to repair” The 3,439 number stayed in the memory, cause it frit me! So I clicked!
Well, the repair started, and 30 seconds later, Norton told me the Repairs were Completed. A restart would be needed. Not wanting to lose the work I had done, I tried to save the blog and CorelDraw work. But Windows also told me a restart.
So, I lost all my heart. The hours of work will all be lost and need to be done again in the morning. Humph!
I nervously pressed the restart.
Then, when it reloaded, Norton said I needed a Scan needed doing, so I did. It came out all clear.
After refusing several pricey and complicated, not fully understood offers of various route protectors and dark internet extras, I closed down windows.
I sat for a moment, ultra depressed at losing all the work, then… THE BIG FADE FELL – AGAIN! That was it. Once again, my body and mind told me to get some sleep, so I tried. Carer Israel came, the laundry returned, and I put it away in the morning. Sleep was my main unfulfilled aim at the time. The Barrier cream was delivered at the same time. The night shots taken of the view looked rather like the mood I was in. Glum, dark, depressed… Arrgh!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Several times today, I experienced moments of quietism, almost mysticism, involving quiet contemplation. On another day, I may have called them mind-blanks or PN Seizures. But not today! I think I enjoyed them. Not that I am aware of what they contained, but it is a sensation of, well, a degree of self-satisfaction and a rare understanding of things. No, I never felt an understanding of things before!
Of course, I can’t recall what they were. Tsk!
Hopefully, these little mental gems I write may help someone working in psychiatry, occupational therapy, Community Mental Health, or counselling glean whatever I’m waffling on about. They may kindly inform me of their findings afterwards. It would be nice to know why I wrote them in the first place. A plea for help, mayhap?
04:10hrs: The nocturnal catheter colour was much improved. Also, was much less than it has been.
A terrible photo of the morning view.
Mostly liquid sludge!
The right leg was looking good again. Of course, were hitting me throughout the day, but nothing as bad as they were when I was supposed to be sleeping. Every one of them woke me up (well, they would, I guess), but I soon nodded off again, awaiting the next one to arrive. The pain from them only lasted for a couple of seconds.
Carer arrived as I was starting to update the blog. Back to the blogging, photographs being uploaded from the … and… The Pictures folder suddenly went into full-screen mode! I imagine I hit the wrong combination on the keyboard. () But there were no resize buttons on the tabs, and the arrows to resize were not working either. What a mess I got into trying to sort it out. I asked Google, copied down the procedure given, and followed it. Of course, it didn’t work.
I thought I must have copied it wrongly, so I tried again. The problem was that when I went to the picture window, it blocked out all the advice on the Google page! I checked the procedure and wrote it down more clearly. Then I tried again. No Luck!
I went back to Google and searched for other advice there. Many were too technical for me to understand.
I found one. To get to the list, I had to press the F button, scroll down to Size, and press Enter. Size was the first item on the list, but it was not highlighted, so I couldn’t get into it to follow the rest of the advice.
Then, I tried stab-in-the-dark procedures. I had no idea what I was doing, so I turned off the computer and restarted it, hoping things would be back to normal when rebooted. No! Oh, No, no, no! I often wish that one could turn off life and reboot it to see if the body and mind might have reset themselves to default mode! Hehehe!
The flaming picture window opened in full mode again. Then, I realised that it was not in full mode before because, this time, it filled the screen entirely, thus revealing the bottom left option of closing the ‘Hide Folders’ button. I pressed it, and the screen became a smidgen smaller, allowing the bottom right seize arrow to be accessed—WUNDERBAR! I spent the rest of the day a bag of nerves in case I repeated the wrong key combination and did it again. The ticking eye and twitching of the lower lip started! I was a bag of nerves!
So, another two hours plus was lost!
I went to make a brew of Glengettie, and the colouration of the lunchtime view was terrific. Straight ahead. Then, I took a shot of the Cannabis-Growers road.
As I returned to make the brew. And the state of the kitchen floor brought forth shame and guilt! Flash Speed Mop utilised. They are crap! Mind you, they did pick up some of the dirt. Hahaha!
Gorgeous afternoon clouds
Found this attached to an email.
What is it, please?
As it got a little later, I just couldn’t resist taking more snaps of the clouds.
I made a nosh, took a photo of it, got settled, and ate it. What happened to the photo that was not on the SD card is a mystery. Nothing new there!
I was well into the land of nod and without any of the awakenings, being kind to me! And left me alone, too. But the Carer came in to wake me instead. Hahaha! I was not compos-mentis and forgot to ask him to remove the socks and attach the nocturnal catheter pouch. I found out in the morning that I had very dark urine and an overflowing bag, and with the socks on, the shocks from both ankles kept waking me up. Humph!
The sky looked like it had been painted. Bootiful! .
The mudslide at the end of the car park.
Even I got this one. Haha!
What a magnificent view!
The came, and I got up and had a walk about; they lessen when so this.
Three last shots as the sunset fell. Farewell!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Have a grand Day!
All-over-the-placidness, lack of concentration, and mind wandering off more than staying with me were similar to yesterday. Rampant! I have lost the notepad with the reminders of the day’s events. There is much the sameness, I suppose. Thank heavens I got the above selection sorted early because I could not have done it in the state I was in later on. Things may or may not improve mentally or physically, but ‘It ain’t necessarily so!’ So, this will be short on detailed info, as the seizures and mind-blanks started later on. Sorry. – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – 04:00hrs: The brain stuttered awake… well, mostly. How I got the glow onto this snap, I don’t know!
Veering towards the Trotsky Terence level. The feet & tootsies looked better. The medicationalisationings followed. The shaving went well; there were only a few minor nicks. No bother.
Got in a tangle with the .
I went to the kitchen and enjoyed taking these snaps of these morning views. The last one turned involuntarily into a work of art, or I was interfered with . Hehe! Does it look like a radar photo of an airport and city?
I got the computer on and started updating and getting photos onto CorelDraw and WordPress.
Another oddly-hued photo?
Contrails in the beautiful sky.
Taking an automated wee-wee. Hahaha!
Clouds to the left. Clouds to the right (Of the kitchen window)
I got further muddled and had to make many amendments and corrections. Then, as if by magic, I found myself in the spare room, apparently searching for something. I didn’t find out what I was looking for, but I had a scout around in case I saw whatever it was, and it triggered the brain into action. It didn’t.
Later, when I went to investigate what to have for the daily meal, I had this wonderful view to photograph. This one is rather special. Gorgeous!
It could be Putin in heaven, I thought. But plenty of others to pick from. Hehe!
A lot of blanks today.
But I did get the nosh pepped, cooked & photographed.

I’m thinking of writing a blog about “How to Get Nothing Done, but find it needs amending or correcting, then run out of time doing it!” Yes, I reached a new low or high today in brain-befuddledness. Overlooking the obvious, missing the intentions or inclinations of my own tormented mind. I’ve never been so busy getting nothing done… well, done satisfactorily, or to a semi-acceptably state, competently, effectively. But conditionally.
My senses and intentions are in remission.
02:30hrs: Better shade.
High morning sky. Lower down. Wonky, wobbly view.
First…
AARGH! . I’ve done it again!
I left the Dang tap (faucet) running last night. There is no hot water for a shower or shave. Spit and grumps!
I put the kettle on and had to return to the Throne! It gets better! Hehe!
Made a brew of Glengettie. Of course, I started writing a blog post and forgot all about tea. Huh!
A third visit to the bog! Where’s it coming from?
Carer Chris (took the laundry down) and then Carer Kara called. Both were in a rush, up to the neck in it, methinks. Kara looked at the whiteboard and checked the Catheter for me.
MIND BLANK or SEIZURE A whopper, too!
When I came around, it was obvious that I had been working on the computer. To my amazement, I’d posted the Wednesday Post off; I hope I finished it first. The scribbled notes I’d scrawled meant nothing to me. I was aware of things because I went to check the cooker and taps. The taps were off, the kettle was cold, and no hobs or ovens were left on. At this moment, I looked out at the view from the balcony window.
My eyesight was worse than ever at long distances today. Every house seemed to have two roofs, and they were both moving independently of each other, according to my Glaucoma’s eyes, anyway.
The day bag dropped down the leg, so I must have been drinking well enough while half out of it?
I did notice the nibble box had been well-raided. Haha!.
Well, that’s what it’s there for.
I realised I’d not sent the blog email notification, so I did.
For an unknown reason, Googlemail would not let me import any pictures (and still didn’t on Friday?). Luckily, they went in when I copied and pasted, which made the job messy and protracted.
Can you believe this?. And was bleeding.
I seemed and cleaned things up. After being up so early, when I returned to the computer, I decided not to continue. Then I realised that the evening carer, Chris, must have been. Could I recall it? Nope! I checked the log book, and he had been.
Despite having been up for about 21 hours, and there must be chunks of the day went off into the ether, I didn’t feel too tired, physically; then again, I’ve not nowt physical, have I?
Time to get summat to eat. Garden peas, potato cakes and caramelised little pork sausages. These were eaten with bits of the baguette wrapped around each one and dipped in the new Heinz tomato ketchup with pickle!
Got the bed ready to receive the mini-elephantine body and decided to have a bag of chip sticks to round off the meal. I checked the taps and heating and got down in the itch-creating, bruise-giving, catheter-tube-tugging, crumb-decorated from my nocturnal nibbling, God-awfully uncomfortable, cringingly-grotty, no longer working, dirty beige, anti-sleep designed, c1966, second-hand bought for £300, ten years ago from the charity shop, recliner, to eat the treats. Zzz!
Throughout the next three hours, I did not move from the recliner; I just spent the time getting oh-so-regular. I gave up and got up at 04:00 hrs. I decided to finish the stand-up ablutions. It was far too early to use the shower, and the noise would wake up the tenants living below. I’m coughing and sneezing a bit now. Tsk!
I rose from my so-called sleep at 03:25 hrs. The nocturnal wee-wee was a better colour, but not much. Hehe!
The ankles were looking a lot better this morning. The overnight were far less as well. They strike a little further up the leg each day, of course. Last night was my shortest sleep of the year, so the strikes ought to have been less. I just worked that out… amazing! Hahaha!
The waste bag was sorted into one, and I placed it near the door. At this point, I had a visit from . I’ve not had any sudden head-spins from him for a while. But fortunately, I was in the hallway at the time, less than an arm’s length away from the walls, to steady myself. I feared he might kick off again later, but he didn’t. Mind you, I did have the odd session from the routine. One during a visitation from Carer Kara.
I pondered over what to have for Nosh. Lame or Cumberland pie & potatoes. Undecided yet…
Finally, after much straying off and doing other things, I got the Tuesday blog done and posted.
appeared. We had a natter while he put on my socks and issued the medications. I remembered to ask him to remind me about taking the B17 vitamin tablet.
A little drizzle was falling, so IO went onto the balcony to take this shot of the end car park. The mudslide had been driven through a few times.
came but had little time; she checked the mail and bank letters for me. A financial visit. I’m sure there were things I wanted to ask her. She checked the emails with me, British Gas, the Bank and an unknown one. Kara said to leave it alone; it’s not a danger.
We then had a little mist for an hour or two.
I had all sorts of problems with the computer. I spent many hours on it, stopping when I got brain fog and didn’t know what to try or not risk changing. I’d nip out to take a photo or two of the view. Getting back to find I’d forgotten what and where I was with the computer. But I was still getting messages that: Your hard drive is full, and I could not save anything at all! After clearing out so much artwork and saving graphics, I finally, hours later, was able to save the work I’d done on CorelDraw. This fiasco was enough for anyone to lose it, but me? No, there had to be another problem, didn’t there? I finally got around to downloading the photos I’d taken: I’d DONE IT AGAIN! With the worry over the computer, I’d left the SD card out of the camera; no photos! I gave up on the computer and made a meal.
. Cumberland pie and a few potato chunks roasted in the oven to go with it.
arrived just as I’d finished the meal. That was jolly good timing from Israel! He removed the socks and medicated me.
. I got them, but it took me a lot longer than the given eleven seconds to get there.
05:40hrs: I rose in a cheery, gay, happy mood. Possibly a Ahem! I could hardly believe the dark colour of the Catheter night pouch contents—I was in shock, really. I took another shot of it when emptying the night bag. Of course, at the time, I didn’t realise that much bigger shocks were awaiting me later on, today! Yes.
I took this picture of the early morning view from the kitchenette window.
At least it wasn’t foggy… yet! Only my brain was foggy. I was off to the wet room for a wash and visit to the. There was another change in styles: from two days of being in control, now was ruling things. Mega-smelly, almost watery, it squirted out more than flowed! It took me ages to get the place, and my body cleaned up! Tsk.
Since arriving in the wet room, I’d had three or four of the .
Seeing the state of the ankles, was no surprise. may need putting back on again, if things get any worse and the lesions burst open. Won’t please the Carers.
The Asda driver rang me on the mobile phone with a connection as normal, but it was so bad that he might as well have been talking to me in Outer Mongolian, for all I understood. I assumed he could not gain access and told him I’d come down to him straight away. Big Mistake!
I got and left the flat to find that both of the lifts were out-of-action! .
I looked down between the fire escape stairs… It looked and was daunting. 24 flights of stairs to get down. I automatically set off, with great difficulty and pains from , and . I really must have been mad, to think I could get down all that way and then back up again. However, thought I could. I couldn’t, of course. I managed to get down to the sixth floor and started going back up again. This was when I heard the noises below me. The heroic, saving-the-day driver was on his way up; I could hear him going up a flight of stairs with two of the three boxes, back down and getting the third, then repeating the exercise for each of the 24 flights of stairs. I continued climbing back up, and the driver caught me up; I was struggling so much to get back to my floor. The ankles had swollen and also was bleeding. The driver was pouring sweat, but he stayed calm and patient with me. As we got to the flat, arrived. Between them they got the food into bags and took them into the kitchen for me. It was a big order as well. I sent a thank-you note to Asda later in the day for the driver’s kind, beyond-the-call-of-duty actions. He deserves recognition. Did the medicationalisationings. I took this shot of the well-tired Asda driver leaving.
Then, an Iceland order arrived! Which I was certain I’d ordered for next Tuesday? I may need more help here! kindly put the bags in the hallway for me, ready for me to tackle later. Thanks, Shaquille!
Then, I set about sorting out the Asda Delivery. This is going to be a long job. There is much stuff to sort out and store away. I made a start…
The spring waters and cordials were put on the floor next to the Water Alarm Sounder thingamabob on the floor. Something else to trip over.
Shloer drinkies for treats and thankyous for the Caregivers and nurses who tend to me. Soda water and spring water for the daily Catheter filling routines. A bottle of Mushroom sauce and Tomato Ketchup with pickle. Lastly, sterilised milk.
Some reet-treats for myself in this photographicalisation on the left. Vici Surimi sticks Sweet & delicate). Jamaican Lamb patties. (Tasty!) Asda Crisp & Golden Potato Rostis (Not bad at all when done until burnt a bit). But nice!
Some favourites in this one! Brown sliced baguettes! Ready meals, Cumberland Pie, Minced beef hotpot. Texas beef chunks, an all-day breakfast, and a newly discovered gem. mini caramelised sausages!
Then I moved on to the Iceland delivery storage. Far less to work with. Curry & Barbeque baked beans, mushrooms, sugarless biscuits, batteries AA & AAA. Treats drinkie, and some ready-made coffees for the Carers who like them.
Made up and took the waste bags to the rubbish shoot in the 12th-floor main lobby. Noticing the lifts had been repaired as I passed by them en route. I managed to trap my hand, well finger, in the cast iron closure drawer without any effort or input. No cursing, swearing, or spitting, just an Argh!
Back in the detention cell. I mean the apartment, I avoided a calamity and with seconds to spare, got it emptied just in time! The colour was a lot healthier looking now than first thing. I got on with the blog finalisationings at long last. Worra, day! It’s well into PM now!
The mist had been around all day once it had fallen. Too busy to notice what time it fell. More like November weather, really.
Slurp, gobble!
Took ages to force out this time. Spent some time on the crossword puzzle.
Overnight, despite the horrendous day I’d had, left me alone. But… the woke me up each time when it struck. Higher up on the leg now. Wakes you up with a jerk, I can tell yers. I feel a little pain each time, but it soon eases off, within seconds. By then, they had done their job, mission, aim… to stop me sleeping! Either because of the mysteries of Woodthorpe Court, with the hobgoblins, spectres, gnomai, phantasms, ghosts, the grotesque succubae, extraterrestrials, ectoplasms, spirits, or the Fata Morganas, that have been sent to taunt, irritate and terminate my already limited saneness of mind. Or, my brain that is not communicating with that is dying off, or maybe it’s the cunning ? I’ve always had a sort of affinity with him, you know. I don’t think he likes not being liked by the souls he collects? It could be part of his plan to make living (for me) hell, then when he comes, I’ll welcome him. Just a thought. I’ve no quarrel with him at all. It’s smarty-pants Saint Peter I’d like a word with.

I swear I was more out of it than with it for the majority of the day. Doing the blogging, or trying to, I’d wander off to the Porcelain Throne; on the way back, I’d see some bits on the hallway floor and get the hoover out. A Carer calls, and my attention varies. The ten-minute Carer’s call was over, and I’d forgotten about finishing the hoovering and moved on to check what was in the fridge to cook for my meal for tonight. I returned to the computer and was amazed that so little was done on it. Searching for a Local News Snippet on the Your Area News site, something reminded me of my youth. I spent ages casting back my mind to my horrendous school days, musing at my bad choices, the bullies, the neighbours, etc. I went to make a brew of Glengettie and found that the hot water tap had been left on and had run cold. Stubbing my toe en route back to the computer, I could not find my notepad with the scribbled reminders to use. A seizure or mind-blank took over, and suddenly, the pain from a PN electric shock in the leg (it’s moved up from the ankle now) brought me back from wherever I was, and it dawned that I’d been AWOL for two hours or so. As I stood up, the pain from the Catheter tube pulling on Little Inchie was excruciating. I felt the warm wetness as the blood flowed down from the PPs onto my leg and off to the wet room for cleaning and medicationalisationing. When I came out, I set about setting up the template for the blog, not realising that I’d already done that and had some work to do. More time lost. No doubt I did many other things; the proof was in the few photographs I found on Kodak Tim’s SD card. These also prompted some remembrances. But what I did most of the day was a part of the mystery. I reclaimed a degree of awareness of things, but not until the evening Carer called. I think Carer Sam came and put some prescriptions in the medical drawer. Vagueness is the word to describe today, I guess. Belatedly doing, the nurse’s ode flowed easily. And although, as per usual, I was getting so tired and weary, which in itself was another mystery cause I’d done bugger all today. I didn’t even get back to this blog until late Saturday morning! I think I’ll add Confusion to Vagueness. Ah, yes, Carer Maryham did the first call. (I think) She was not very well; I think she had caught the ‘Bug’, bless her. I seem to recall worrying about her. Only a few photos to go on, with the odd prompted memory added where I had one… Thank heavens, I at least got the top graphics done early. I’m waffling well, ain’t I?
Front car park, from the kitchen window.
Misty morning.
Late morning, I think.
The new bed, with the fall-out bar and a slide-under-table. It’s comfy enough for me!
It looked like the road resurfacing was all done.
Afternoon or teatime sky.
I missed the sunset due to a mind-blank. But took this as I went to make a meal.
See the difference twixt reality (above), and how it looked on the box? Most disappointing taste, too!
Gums bleeding after teeth cleaning.
Shaving, eight tiny nicks, no bother!
Showering: I deliberately took my time doing this. And I got through it without a single Accifauxpas or Whoopsiedangleplop. Smug-Mode Engaged!
Medicationalisationing: Harold’s Haemorrhoids were exceptionally tender. Little Inchy was bloodied, but nothing unusual in this. Olive oiled the earholes.
I applied eye sprays. Phorpain gelled both cartilages; I put plenty on and rubbed it in well.
Then, the big challenge… Getting the Protection Pants on. A bit of a farce… However, I did eventually get them on, but a slight tearing of the pants was overcome by my ingenious (well?) plan to use the Catheter tape to hold them together.
I even walked out of the wet room without knocking into the door frame. Smug-Mode Mark2
I started this blog but haven’t gotten very far…
For then, the interruptions flowed.
The gentleman from Diabetes Support rang. He explained that they could not meet me face-to-face, but I could use the App. I asked what that was: On your
mobile phone! – My mobile phone does not have internet access! – What? – My mobile phone does not have internet access! Well, use your iPad! (I’m not sure if he said iPad or ePad) – What are they? I can use my computer, can’t I? – No, it is not set up for computers, ask your doctor if she can arrange anything!
So, my hopes of getting any help with Diabetes 2 were over. I’ll have to find the time to search for advice on my computer. Felt a smidge low now.
Another try at blogging… The landline chimed and flashed; It was someone asking about the bed. Had the bar been fitted or not? – Yes! – Then someone will come out to you with a new mattress. – The one on the bed is new, I think? – That one was the wrong size! – Yes, they sent the wrong-sized bar as well. – That’s why I’m checking to see if the new bar has been fitted – Yes…
Can we come to fit the new mattress today? It’s no problem; I’m in all day. – Good!
I was a little perplexed, but I had to get back to starting this blog (I never did; you’ll gather that as I waffle on about my busy day).
Back to the blogging…
Carer Kara called; she only had 15 minutes, but she did an amazing job getting my socks on, checking the catheter bag, and putting my mind at rest about an email I’d had. Got the medications given and had to rush off. Thanks, Kara! ♥
Carer Christopher returned the laundry, and I put it away. Now, it’s well into the second half of the day!
Back to blogging…
I decided to make the second brew of the day; the first went cold again. I filled and sealed the waste bag.
Back to blogging…
The man with the mattress arrived. He was helpful; he had to remove the old mattress and put the new one on from the junk room (but they are all junk rooms).
Showed me how to use the lifter/lower control.
Back to blogging…
For about five minutes, it gave me time to put the first photos on in the wrong order and change them to where they should be… I was sorting the wristbands out, and one of them snapped. I swore and bent down to retrieve it…
Clouting my forehead on the way down against the edge of the open drawer. Got up a little too quick, and paid me a visit. Naturally, this was of no bother to a man of my calibre and resistance to pain; I laughed the matter off. Ahem!
It was getting late, so I gave up on the blogging as the tiredness and fog descended.
I took this photo as I went to the kitchen to make some nosh. Carer Chris arrived, looking in a rush. Well, it was his last call before his going home time. Hehe!
The meal consisted of a four-bean stew with added mini sausages and baguettes. A lemon yoghourt, too!
I emptied the day bag and was ready to attach the nocturnal pouch. Getting so tired now!
