But what is it that they actually be?
I’ve a feeling these are linked to me,
Mayhap my frequent aggrieves?
Or the quinquennial that always amazes?
My failed helpers & appeasers?
Failures that come in abundance?
Or, my non-existent audience?
My collection of male pink brassieres?
Or when I drank brandy & beers?
Wore a balaclava and short trousers?
Or are politicians now tyrannisers?
My strange addiction to typefaces?
My being the best of the underachievers?
My belief is that there’s more than one universe.
I’m still using inches, pounds & ounces?
I’m running out of money and common sense…
I need and seek a mental carapace,
Physically, Duodenal Donald, Colin Cramps…
Anne Gyna, FND, PN and seizures,
I’ll give up if I get any more strokes,
Sometimes I feel as if I’m a scapegrace,
In so many ways, I’m a disgrace,
Life seems full of failures, mishaps & shivas,
And as for the dying neurotransmitters…
They guarantee me shakes & quivers,
Dropsies, neck-jerks, twitching and quaives!
Shuddering Shoulder Shirley, Colin Cramps…
Pete with his Peripheral Neuropathy…
Roger Reflux, Lymphorrhoea Leslie…
Dark Deep Depression Duncan, Eczema & Acne,
Gladys Glaucoma, Arthur Itis in each knee,
Cartilages, too, that give way on me,
Seizures that leave me confused and hazy…
Myoclonic, Absence, Stuttering Stephany…
Premordid Cognitive Impairment Inchie,
Dodgy Virgin computer & their TV,
I suppose one could call me semi-unlucky?
Bearing in mind I’ve just spilt my tea,
I’d reply, absobloodylutely!
Add the world’s continuing bellicosity,
I’ll soon be reaching eighty…
Is there time for me to act irresponsibly?
Be slap-happy, live more cheerfully?
Septically, hygienically & less sceptically?
Sod-them-allish, go all criminogenically?
Full of vim, reckless, brash, audaciously?
Live life like it was planned to be?
Oh, the catheter bag needs to be emptied of pee!
That’s enough of my written chicanery.
And I thought yesterday was busy! – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – I’ll try not to miss anything, but it was a heck of a hectic Friday. Still, it kept me busy. Got miles behind with the blogs. I may be making unintentional chronological mistakes, given the long time that has passed between events and my recording them on the blog. I blame…
04:20hrs (Most of this is according to the hard-to-read scribbled notes on the notepad) I got the nocturnal catheter pouch emptied and had to dash… well, hobble-quickish to the wet room and . It was a close call this morning; the instant I bent down, before any contact was made between my bottom and the raised-up WC lid, the torrent shot out! Seconds later, when the contact took place, the evacuation was over, done and dusted! Then I had to clean up the splatterings from my body and the Porcelain furniture. During this, I knocked over various medical stuff from the floor cabinet. By the time the bending was finished, I , and in doing so, had joined in.
I made a double-teabag brew. A Thompson’s Irish Breakfast and a Co-op 99.
Turned on the computer, and with praiseworthy but foolishly, I hoped to catch up on blogging. (This didn’t happen)
This second visit, which didn’t feel as urgent as the first one, fooled me. It’s an easy thing to do nowadays.
In contrast to the brief first job. It was mushy, but kept coming in surges. I even got out the crossword book and gave it a try. (No, I didn’t get any of the three outstanding clues solved) But there was less cleaning up to do. It only took me a couple of minutes, and I didn’t knock anything over. However, the session must have taken me 20 minutes before the in-control had finished. I wouldn’t have minded if I could have solved some clues!
I took this shot of the not-so-pleasant morning from the kitchenette window. First morning without sunshine at daybreak for a few days now. Then, dang me, the sun broke through, coming up from behind the building. I caught the Nottingham City Hospital in the next shot.
As I started the lengthy Odeing session, Carer Ejaz arrived. He issued the medications; the body was not checked today. I told and showed Ejaz how the feet, ankles, and legs looked much better. And for once, my looked fine. We used the Cetraben cream instead of the Barrier cream yesterday. It seemed to work better.
I checked on Google to find the cheapest Cetreben online. After an hour, I decided to try to sign up with Chemist4U, an online pharmacy, and place an order for Cetraben, Medical Olive Oil, and Co-Codemols. I got registered after making the order. However, they continued to refuse me and confuse me. First name needed. ‘Go to ‘billing’ and amend. Could I find the Billing Section? No!
I gave up and cancelled the order, sending them details of my problem. No answer was received. This cost me about two hours, farting about getting nowhere. I tried again from scratch. Another hour passed, and I gave up. Then, a code was sent to me via email to enter their order. But there was nothing in the email box to copy! Anyway, I cancelled the order… You can see why losing Carer Joe has caused me problems. I’m sure he would have picked up whatever it was that I did wrong, a Whoopsiedangle plop of some sort, I expect.
Then, an hour later, I received a robot message from C4U, which didn’t make sense to me. I just answered, saying I couldn’t get the order passed and I have given up on it. Getting wound up now! Inevitably, and both kicked off. So, getting any of the blogs done was not easy. Then , a three-hour-long on-and-off attack started. It’s not the attacks; it’s the coming out of them that gets to me. Also, I’m not getting any warnings before they come nowadays. Baffling.
Then the new old people’s mobile was delivered. Carer Manpreet could not help me set it up; she did not have the time, as she was on the afternoon’s short safety check. Told me to ask Carer Ejaz later or the next day. I sneaked an extra codeine and took many gulps of Peptac to ease the physical pains. But the mental ones were worse, and nothing could ease the anguish and frustration I was in. Absolutely (as far as I recall), amazingly, my frustrations were so high that for once, that Couldn’t get a look in! I was just fixated on coping with the aftermath of the mini-seizures and angry that nothing was going right! As it stands, Carer Joe is gone, so there’s no help. Although I’m hoping Carer Ejaz can assist with the mobile.
I was trying to get back to the blogging, and the Dettol was delivered. Back to the computer, and… Then , I should have said, the lovely retired District Nurse arrived, took a look at, and confirmed that my right leg and ankle were now cleared for use. She did say there was some crinkled skin and to be careful not to catch or bang it. And she will call next week to assess the feet. Her bit of caring made a world of difference to me. 🤎🌺 I’d still go nowhere with the blogging; tomorrow looks like a losing, no-chance-of-catch-up-on-the-blogs day.
The landline burst forth its trill sounds. As I reached for it, a no-warning mini-seizure gripped me. I didn’t know who it was until I came around, and they were talking fifteen to the dozen. I’d not got the foggiest of what or who it was for a minute or so. As I regained some of my composure, I explained to the caller why I was not responsive. Of all the callers, it could have been the bank, Matron Julie, no, no Matron Jackie, the police, British Damned Gas, the Doctor, a debt collector, Sister Jane, Warden Julie, Jenny, it was from the Neurosurgeons at the QMC. This was brilliant! For the lady had rang to inquire about the seizure’s nature. Now she knew! She had obviously got a list of questions and went through them all. She was gathering as much detail as possible before the procedure in November to determine the best course of action. She is going to make me an earlier appointment, for September or thereabouts, to see the surgeon and decide what can or needs to be done. She said it’s critical to gain as much knowledge beforehand. Possibly a trephination hole to assess the brain’s neurotransmitter fluids first. I thought that was what they told me weeks ago? Of course, there is a slight possibility that I may have, or might have, got this wrong. Did I forget or have a seizure when on the phone last time? Tsk & Humph!
After 90 minutes on the landline, I vaguely recall trying to log back on to this blog again.
The mobile then rang! Gotten Himmel!
Shirley phoned to let me know that the £35-a-bash toenail cutter, Sarah, was on her way up. I think the names are correct. I got the money ready to pay her. Humph!
Carer Manpreet arrived and issued the medications. Can’t recall much else. Maybe I was coming back from a seizure?
No further updates will be made to the blog. I’ll do my best to complete it on Saturday. As for finding time to start Saturdays off, the chances are maybe 100 to 1. I’ll fall even further behind, so I’ll have to catch up on Sunday’s undone work on Monday, which will put me far behind schedule with blogging. But am I bothered? Yes!
Then, I got an email welcoming me to C4U? Offering email updates of special offers, etc. So, I foolishy made another order. This time, I had to fill in endless detail sheets for most items. I received another email stating that they are processing my order, and it typically takes 4 days to complete. No bother about that. Just pleased I’d got some more medicinal olive oil for the ears and Co-Codamol as a standby painkiller. The footspray, too.
I made a stew, added some red onion, liquid smoke, Gung Po sauce and garden extra green and black peas. Place it in a microwave-safe dish, ready to add some potatoes after it’s cooked. I was doing well today despite the horrendous nature of the proceedings.
Oh, this is the state of the box that carried the new mobile phone to me. It was delivered by Amazon. Still, the phone doesn’t look as if it’s been damaged at all. Carer Ejaz gave it a quick lookover. No time to set it up; he said he’ll try over the weekend to see why there are no ringtones or change options. He called the phone, but I could hardly hear it four feet away from me when it rang!
I went to turn off the computer, not that I’d managed to do much on it anyway. I had a quick check on Gmail… Arrgh! An email from C4U advised me that my order had been cancelled! I didn’t cry! Well, maybe inside, I did. Rather, I felt pissed off, annoyed, swore and cursed a lot, and now, depression showed its ugly head. It was as if my whole body reacted. nearly had me off the chair! Followed seconds later, an outburst of stabbing pains from , who had calmed down earlier. Another minute, and tested my pain tolerance by hitting me in the left foot and left hand at the same time! Believe this or not, I’d just scribbled these happenings on the memory notepad; in fact, I’d written them all and felt a seizure coming on for the first time in days. I knew it would be a short one; the long ones give no warning. So, I stayed seated and drifted off into the ether. This bit of the blog gets better… Huh!
When I came out of it, I was facing in a different direction, still seated in the same chair. Seeing the wall clock that fell off yesterday, which I hadn’t retrieved… I thought to myself, “Christ almighty! I’ve been away for five hours!” I soon realised what had happened. The battery had fallen out of the wall clock, and it showed the wrong time. I’ve had enough today!
I think it was more like two minutes.
The computer work was saved, then shut down unceremoniously. By an ultra-fed-up Inchy!
No more seizures. and both eased off… but were replaced with an angry for the rest of the night and well into the morning! Much Peptac taken.
Now I was feeling down, despite seeing the humour in my feeling that I’d been out of it for five hours. Hehe!
I wearily got the meal prepped and served up. I even enjoyed it. But with so many Accifaupas Whoopsiedangleplops, errors and mistakes, it was inevitable that they kept coming to mind.
Carer Ejaz did the late check call. He’ll look at the mobile for me tomorrow. Bless him.
I had more troubles today. The one thing that really got to me was my inventiveness in clearing out all the unwanted files to save memory on the computer. It is currently at 96.31%. Now, I’ve lost all the WordPress photos, old and new! Luckily I’d created and put the WordPress intro graphics on CorelDraw for today. I searched the Windows bin, but they were not in there at all! Amidst phone calls from the optician, Dentist, Sister Jane, the two nurses and INR DVT nurse Kristina called to take blood and check the ulcers.
Then Warden Dean phoned to clarify the situation with the Nottingham City Homes plumber arriving to sort the showerhead out. That was interesting. The hose thingy had been put in without a washer on it by Caring Carer Chris, bless him. The new just-bought showerhead would not work in a block of flats. So he took the new showerhead away with him as he went down to get an old one from his van that he’d taken out of someone’s bathroom earlier and fitted that one. It was too late and I was too tired to do any ablutions tonight, I’ll do them in the morning… if I wake up in time.
Then the audio clinic called. Then the intercom went, and a kind tenant down in the reception had found an Amazon parcel which had been opened and three-quarters of the content stolen. I rang Deana, and she came up and fetched the box of four sprays originally, but now just the one cleaner… that I had not ordered anyway, and some git had stolen three of them.
The plumber helped me to try and reset the computer before I cocked up and got rid of the WordPress stuff. Of course, the files not being there, and CorelDraw cannot open the blog pages now for access. A fifth day on the trot of horrendously crap luck. It’s not finished yet. Well pissed off, and the sulks and depression were brewing. I put the new Kodak strap over my head that Caring Carer Chris had fitted for me to take some sky shots, which I did. Then the strap fell off of the camera, and I dropped it on the floor. I picked up the camera and bits of strapping and put them on the bedtable to show Chris if he calls later. I straightened the bedspread and hit my head on the bedstead. It wasn’t on the bedstead; it was on the fall bar, but that didn’t rhyme. Haha!
So, I may have to miss a few of the usual blogs while I catch up and sort out what other mistakes I’ve made. I will try to keep writing an ode for a while, but with the medical appointments and household calamities to sort out, I love writing my odes as well. I don’t want to upset my multitudinous flock, hoard, and worldwide fans. I apologise to both of you.
Sorted the pouch emptying and straightened the bedspread.
Of to the wet room.
The food order arrived. All filled. Carer Kara phoned about the shower and called the Doctor again for advice. The morning clouds
All three nurses came at the same time. Hristina said she would tell the Warden about my earache and the shower problem, bless them they were so kind, as was Kara.
The computer gaff had me down in spirits and self-hating.
Bottom field below the tree copse, The wee-wee kept coming.
I spotted the press-on cup hooks looking a little weathered. I took them off and cleaned them and the under-counter part.
Carer Chris called; he noticed a lot of fluffy bits in the wee again.
Still warm and light.
An hour later. Close shot of the sun.
Shelled some podded garden peas. Potato rounds in the oven. Chicken thighs out of the oven… yes, meat tonight! Sliced some tomatoes. Finished blogging. I’m very uptight with myself still. Back in the morning. – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – I made the meal; I know this because I nodded off for an hour and woke up to see it spread all over the floor. Not one of my best days, by any means.
Well, there were still plenty of hassles, worries, and mistakes made. There were many visits and stings from . I have never had so many during the day before on a single day. I am greedy! Hehehe! The Doctor’s surgery gave me a tinkle. To make an appointment for them to give me painkilling injections in the knees, to counter & . I’ll see if I can remember to tell them about the latest ailment craze from . She made an appointment for 09:40hrs on Thursday, 18th April. Same day as I was to be going to the Diabetes Course in Bulwell. Can’t win ’em all… Humph, I can’t win any! Haha! The replacement carpets ruined in the flood escapades arrived. I cleaned the wet room again, another mess made by yours truly, Inchy. The hallway carpet had not dried yet, so I went into the wet room, taking black bits from the carpet onto the floor! I decided to wash the bottoms of the slippers and dry them off well. Naturally, I got soapy water on the soft outers of the slipped and had to put them on the fairer to dry. Then, the need for the Throne arrived in a bit of a rush. I made more mess going in with my bare feet this time. Tried to use kitchen towels to clean it up, using my feet, but I couldn’t bend down far enough without suffering from the pain. And if I did get down, I’d probably not have been able to get up again! Then, trying to wash my feet, I got my plates of meat into the bowl alright, but at just the optimum time to cause me the worst degree of bother, as I was removing the dodgier right leg, prone to bursting into a wild dance of its own accord, I had a , and tipped the bowl over! Thus had to clean the place up again for the third time! I took the bag of rubbish and put it in the waste chute. ; not realising how early it was in the day. (approx 05:00hrs) I’m going to get it in the neck now; from those people, I might have woken up.Tsk! Finally, at long last, I set about having a shave (only one cut). I searched for the toothpaste. After a few minutes of failed investigation, I assumed it had dropped, and I’d taken it out in the waste bags. Arrgh! It was also the last of the prescription toothpaste. I think at one time, I believed I was still asleep and dreaming. The showering was okay… just one clouting of my head on the power box today. I got the medicationalisationing done. Amazing, I easily got the PPs on. No socks, of course, like a baby waiting for his nanny; the Carer will sort that out for me later. I got on the computer. Carer Kimberly arrived. Socks on, medications, a mini-natter, and laughter were enjoyed. There was a bit of mini-blank here. Hours later, the intercom rang out, and the first of the carpets arrived. Five minutes later, the second carpet (Well, rugs or mats, really). arrived. We spent a few minutes setting the world to rights. She seemed to have a sore throat. I hope she is not getting the dreaded lurgy. No idea why, but there must have been some logic in it somewhere; I made a J Sainsbury order for 14 days time. I think it may have been… no, no idea. I called back later and returned the borrowed bag of ‘s. I was pleased to be in a position to help some other tenant out with the loan. It makes a change from flooding them out, and guilt returns!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Onwards to the photos. The urine in the night bag looked much darker when I viewed it with my admittedly poor eyes. The wet room farce was over. It looked good after three hours of mayhem and cleaning it up again… and again, and finally, once again this morning. Damned good job I couldn’t sleep and got up early. Not that the poor devils living in the twelve-floors below, would appreciate it with me using the darned waste chute that early in the day. Guilt again! This is the first picture of the view from the kitchenette that I took. The amazing blue hue was back again. Bootiful!
I forgot to tell you, when I was cleaning the wet room, I used the new lavatory brush. Can I get it back in its hub? I still can’t.
The day pouch was filling up swiftly today. However, it was getting darker as the say went on. It usually does the opposite. My first mug of Glengettie tea of the day. It really is the best I’ve ever tasted. Shame I’m only allowed two cups a day. (Sob!) The postman dropped my Anticoagulation results DVT, INR, and through the letter box. An increase in dosages. It’s a smidge low. The most amazing cloud formation this evening. Not unlike the news snippet above Mammatus clouds? I see so many things in these three pictures. I’ve put in this blog a little larger. I hope that my fellow bloggers, Tim Price and Paul, and any reader, can see what I did in them. Who is a Pareidolianist? The second mug of Glengettie was enjoyed while I was blogging away merrily. The authenticity of the last bit is dubious. Why the hell do I write so small? I know full well (at times) that my eyesight is crap, and I’ll not be able to read what I’ve written!
I got the smallest of the mats into the wet room. I decided this should be recorded for prosperity. Despite my shakes, I was determined to get a picture taken with the whole mat in it – I didn’t!
Carer Helen called, and medications were given. After I offered them, she took about 40 of my DVDs with her, as I cannot see or hear them nowadays. She’ll collect the others later. Great, a clear out at last.
Better get the nosh prepared… it’s nearly midnight. A tastier effort tonight. Well, this morning. (pork knuckle), Golonkowa, chips, a brown wholemeal baguette and a pot of naughty but so delicious lemon curd yoghourt.
I found it, but it took me 33 seconds. – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – TTFN
Rain and howling wind when I opened the kitchenette window. Caught a few refreshing drops of cold rain in the mush. I did laugh!
: I struggled to get the diabetic socks off of my legs. Causing a mini , which cost me a lot of time and pain cleaning up, before I trod it all over the floor. Which didn’t work cause I trod it all over the floor and then the hallway as I fetched the vacuum! I didn’t actually spit, but came close! I only had one cut shaving, but it was a fairly decent one, requiring the application of the Brut aftershave a few times before I stemmed the flow. For once, and this is very rare indeed, I only had one short . Which barely lasted for about three seconds! Great! I’m anticipating some follow-up sessions, though. The Red Eye was hardly noticeable! But as the carer mentioned later, it is above the eye that he can see it?
Then… .
I sorted the waste bags. Then got onto the computer to try to get some blogging done while I had the time.
. arrived. He’s got a lot on today, but he didn’t mind. The new ankle socks were looked at, but we continued with the diabetic long socks, which after creaming the lesions were put on, then the ankle straps. Then the leg straps… then repeated on the left leg. He did a good job of them today, and I was able to get the inside-outside slippers on easily enough, bless him. I was going to ask him to help me get the trousers on, but decided against this, differed that I am, when I recognised that I would not be able to empty the day catheter while the trews was on, so didn’t. I’ll get them on later. Hopefully, without any s. Then empty the pouch just before the battle to get the trousers on. But feel sure it’ll go alright.
was bleeding, and I had some red skin on the leg near the top of one of the straps. So they got a bit of medicationing from me.
I did a bit of work on this blog after finishing off yesterday’s. Then started to collate the things needed for the hospital visit.
Being the idiot I am. I set of down in the lift to get to the foyer on the ground floor, the elevator doors opened… and I realised I’d left the camera and hearing aids up in the flat – Wot a Burk! So, back up to the apartment. (It sounds classier than the flat, Hehehe) Could I find the hearing aids that I know I’d left on the ottoman? No! Well, not for ages, eventually finding them in the kitchen on the window ledge. I shot down so as not to miss the lift from Easy Link. The driver was the pleasant lady who took me to the hospital. Lovely gal. She had two other passengers on the bus, I tried talking to them in greeting, but the two were not responsive, poor things, still I tried to give them the odd nod and smile en route. I was dropped off first at the Audio Clinic. I got a little confused when I got out, but the lady made a joke of it, she is sweet. I asked if she would be picking me up to go back, and she said no. So I insisted she take a drinkie and nibbles from the . Why she asked me. I said ’cause it’s Christmas, and I’ll sulk if you don’t take some. She laughed and obliged me. I thought there was time to take some photographs of the front of the building… In my earlier semi-panic to find the hearing aids, I’d forgot all about getting . Boy, I was getting weed off with myself! Into the Psychotherapist Appointment… That wasn’t a Psychotherapist Appointment! I’d looked forward to it so much as well. A chance to explain all my difficulties and problems to someone at long last. But No! I should be so lucky! The lady on reception casual said, “Oh, we put the wrong department on the letter, did we?” As she was reading it! That and the earlier cock-ups lessened my spirits. I took a seat as instructed and waited for my name to come up on the new panel on the wall. It seemed ages before my turn came, but I was in no rush. I thought I’d have a go at the crossword book at least I’d remembered to take that and a pen… But not my reading glasses! Some days are destined to go wrong… well, in my case, every day is, and does! My name came up and a young lady came to fetch me to her room. I was there not for the mental condition, but to have new hearing aids tested and supplied! I fear I could not resist telling her and showing her the letter, and of my disappointment and followed up with all the hassle with the computer, the landlines, the new TV, and the Emergency Alarms all going down. She wasn’t interested at first, but by the time I stopped the moaning and groaning, I’d converted her to show sympathy for me at least. Hahaha! She did a magnificent job of testing my ears, and the new aids are working brilliantly. She was told earlier of my inability to replace the tubing nowadays and told me to ring for an appointment and come in and they will do it when needed for me. She also gave me some batteries to take with me. Lovely-jubbly! When I got out to the waiting, reception area, ~I knew there would be another cock, I’d made five and these tend to come in threes – I’d forgotten what time the bus was picking me up. I could not see the front door from the seating area. The thought of going out in the terrible winds that were blowing was not good. On the way in, we saw many rows of dustbins that had been blown all over the place in Sherwood, City Centre and the college area. In fact, when I went out to see if the bus had arrived, the hearing aids were nearly blown out of my tab holes. Also, I could feel the pressure of the filling-up catheter bag in the trousers, most uncomfortable. I dare not go to empty it, in case I missed the lift… Then a receptionist man came to me, I must have been showing signs of concern or something, and asked if he could help with whatever the problem was. bless him. He then fetched a high chair and put it in their foyer, so I could watch for the minibus arriving. Which it did an hour & ten minutes later. Steve, I think the driver’s name was. He’d looked after me before. So I insisted he have some treats as well. When we got back to the flats… erm, apartments (Haha!) How I got those hundred yards to the foyer door without being blown over, losing a hearing aid, or being hit by the twigs, empty bottles and bags in the wind, I don’t know.
I was so glad when I got inside.
Home photos taken. I think they are in chronological order, as they came on Kodak Tim. Here they are:
First photo when I got in. Later… Drizzling starting. The pouch just emptied. Excellent colour! Drizzling still… As it was an hour later… Persisting… Aha, stopping at last. returned the laundry for me.
. Very nice nosh. Flavour: 8.3/10. . Wobble on here, so tried again. . Ah, this was a better effort!
I hope so! Cheers!
I’m still miffed at not seeing someone about my neurological problems today. Since getting home, I had a and a few . AGAIN! I left the hot tap running and the water ran cold. Then also, yet again , while trying to get the heavy large quilt folded. A landing on the knees affair, so it could have been far worse… still painful mind, with & the main victims of the incident. on his next and last call, folded the quilt for me.

My time-consuming, managed brain, meant terribly vexing periods of mistake-making, finding, and still not correcting properly – thus, I spent far too much of the day in grammatical investigations. Intermingled with getting so involved in my blogging, I kept forgetting the 4-hour leg-up, and then 4-hour stood-up as a routine treatment, as the nurse explained being essential if we have any hope of the now ulcerated, wound to be effective and will ever heal. Not that this was the worst of things today… Oh, no! It’s being so cheerful that keeps me going, you know! Oh, no… The , or to be more precise, the tube that is slowly dismantling poor, painful and the flesh around it, is far more bothersome. Not to mention now being supported in her “Let’s Make Inchy Hurt & Fall-Over” mission. Now backed up by a new ailment, a sister, . They are easily outdoing the old regular, in the pain stakes. At least this morning, they are. I’d give 6/10, the new girl an 8/10, and the old man, a mere 3/10… things can change! ———————————————————-
A bit clearer this morning in the nocturnal pouch
Why? What? I know not!
Day pouch filled up with darker urine?
The compression bandaging was looking good. I like having two-tone coloured toes! Hehe!
Into the kitchen to check the taps.
The floor was disgusting from being mopped and the things that I had spilt love the last few days. I must try to give it a mop job, but first…
You’d not believe how long and the mess it took me to get the pad on the mop. The ‘Speed-Mop’ – Huh! It didn’t move a lot of the dirt and stains… Just about worth the effort & pain it cost me. Of course, I spotted patches that I’d missed altogether, the next time I went to the kitchen. Spit!
Finally got a brew of tea made. I made it carefully, cause this is the last of the three china mugs I bought. Last week, I mourned the passing (and shattering) of the second mug this year. I do think that tea tastes better, imbibed from these mugs. Well, mug, now!.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – The delivery arrived as my beloved Nurse Christina was taking the blood sample for the INR level testing. She kindly took the bags through to the kitchen for me. What an Angel of Mercy &Beauty she is ♥ I thanked her, and was suddenly slightly stupefied as she departed; When I realised (or thought) that the order was ordered for 8 days later? I shan’t go any further into that, as this sickenly often-repeated Whoopsie with the food, was getting me into a self-loathing mode. Household items. Treats, luxury fodder! A mixture. A crammed-to-the-hilt fridge & freezer.
The rain had been coming for ten minutes or so when I went, as I often do, due to the memory-distorting qualities of , to check that I’d not left anything on the cooker or taps (faucets) running. I saw that the mudslide had started at the end car park, took the above photo from the balcony. The rain was pouring down heavily as I took this photo from the kitchen window to the North. Then one straight ahead… all taken through the window A final one towards the City Centre.
I’ve tried to explain these blanks to the lady at what was then, a Dementia counselling meet. But it was taken casually and she moved on to other areas, as if she did not believe me, or didn’t want to discuss the subject. There are flakes of partial memories in there, (my head), but dirty great blanks at the same time. I don’t seem to have done any computer work during the approximate five hours of the mental vacuum.
.I realised later, that a Carer had called; the log had been filled in. But who and what took place is mega-blank. I’ve not got the foggiest!Yet I do remember cooking and slicing the potatoes, and pasty, that was about to take out of the oven, to serve up for myself. Another carer called as I was eating the meal. But memory is patchy of even that. By the time I was washing the pots up, things seemed to clear?
Sleep was a no-no on my first try. So, I wandered into the kitchen, with my, and … Took this shot of the evening in Night-Scene mode using . It came out much brighter than it looked. Which helped give an impression of the houses, few with any lights on. Mind you it was late.
During the day, Domestic Denise called with some bad sad news. She is leaving the job and going back to her old one. All I can say is;
I think that Riahanna was one of the callers. Of course the fact me forgetting or getting it wrong, are picayune… but not impossible, of course. Hehe! Victor was one I reckon. Think, maybe, perhaps…
I’m finishing this blog off now – and it’s taken me until 11:00hrs on Thursday to do so.
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – I believe I’m slowly slithering more & more under the control of .No doubt about it! At about 05:00hrs, I gave up trying to get any sleep or peace of mind, after the night long I’d suffered. My first thought was the beauty of the morning sky, a comforting shade of blue, seeable from the c1968, non-operational, tatty, scruffy, unkempt, uncomfortable, germ-breeding, Harold Haemorrhoid-Testing, sickenly beige-coloured recliner. And felt the need to photograph it – at the time all the reasons I took it were almost paramount in my mind. A few hours later, when I got around to doing this blog, I had no idea what the reasons were, except for the colour maybe.
Concerned about the eye drops situation, though. When to stop taking them. The two months quoted after the cataract operation, finished tomorrow? Ah, well on with the busy day’s tales.
The night bag colour was a five on the NHS guide.
I had a strong thirst for a mug of tea – so went into the kitchen and made myself a good strong mug of Glengettie. But I had to let it get cold, as a sudden need for the arose abruptly. A fourth day on the trot (Pun intended, Hehe!) of ruling the proceedings. A messy affair! Also, although the evacuated product was almost straw-like, it took a lot of effort to get it to escape! I was using the expensive, claiming to be the best there is, WC cleaner. And the squirted cap fell off, and ¾ of it shot out in one go! Tsk! Ah, well, that serves me right!
The left foot & ankle were looking better.
The mudslide is visibly decreasing in size. It looked light the lights were on the right car. But I think it might be a reflective covering?
The morning sky was brewing up, for sunshine I think
On with the blogging photograph sorting
Made my second and last mug of tea of the day earlier than usual. Unzipped-a-Banana! Haha!
Carer Chris did the medicationings. And took the laundry bag. I put the carers chair cover on the computer chair. As the big one was in the laundry bag.
It looks like the being done-up house on the edge of the bottom field, had some washing out to dry. I thought they may have gone away while the house was being upgraded.
The landline flashed, but I was emptying the catheter pouch at the time, and it rang off before I could get to it. Then a message was left on the mobile. I was the foot lady telling me I’m expected at the salon to have the tootsies done… in fifteen minutes! I had to save the work, shut down the computer, and struggle to get the trousers and shoes on without help! Needless to say, it was a lot longer than 15 minutes by the time I arrived at the salon. Still, got the toenail and feet done. Paid the £25 bill. Got an appointment for the next time, but lost the card somehow. Called to see Oberstgrüppenfuhreress Warden and Primo Ballerina Warden Deana. And on the way back to the flat, I made a decision… well several! – Oh, yes, it can happen occasionally!
I would make a break for it and escape Woodthorpe Court’s Asylum! Here’s the plan I brewed up.
① The Doctor told me I could go to the chemist to get my flu jab. So it will be a trip on the bus down into Sherwood and the pharmacy, where I also planned… ② To get some batteries, anti-diarrhoea capsules. ③ Try to get some Borscht from the Ozan store. ④ Go to Haydn Road Cobblers and get a watch battery. ⑤ Call at the opticians to explain about the cataracts and my needing new spectacles. ⑥ Remembering, to take the Kodak Camera with me so I didn’t forget it again, I put it in my jacket pocket straight away. Although unknown to me at the time, I’d left the SD card on the computer! So I ended up buying another one while I was out; on what turned out to be a horrendously mind-bending, physically draining, full of mistakes & failures trip out!
I’m going to do a part-two blog for today. All about the planned escape, failed missions, cock-ups, expense-riddled, agony-assuring, near-crippling, ‘Pop to the Shops In Sherwood’, and having to walk back up the dreaded-steep Winchester Hill with a filled up with carrier bags on the handlebars, back home to the penitentiary!
Yet another depressing demanding, busy, can’t-get-anything-done day. Several of note: After approximately. six weeks of suffering, bleeding, blood in the urine, and general agony with , I got a letter from City-Care with help and advice on using and coping with the painfully stuck-in Little Inchy tube of . After several… no, many with bleeding from the filling pouch pulling at the tubing, I went a step further today, and the connector from Little Inchie to the pouch came off altogether! Having unknowingly and. unintentionally weeing all over myself, the letter with the tips arrived. They were in print to faded and small to read, mind you, anyway. But just one of the graphs, I could decipher. Drink no tea or coffee other than decaffeinated, Green or Herbal tea. I couldn’t read 80% of it; far too small a print… have I said that already?
Also, a Urine Score Card. Tonight it was level 7, I fear!
First photo of the day.
Blood in the night catheter.
Cleared up during the day, and the flow was much freer and more frequent. It did stink a bit, mind you. Dettol and air spray to the rescue.
Looked like there was a fire in the Basford area. I didn’t see any blue lights, though. Ten minutes later, and the clouds were preparing for the sunset?
Phase two… Phase three… Phase four… Then the mail arrived…
Confused, and wanting not to miss the sunset photos, I left them in a pile for perusing later back in the kitchen…
Wow! Awe-inspiring! Great colour variation! An almost marbled sky… Amazing, this looked like something solid and cream?
Tendrils…
Looks like a cave opening?
Tendrils back? Could be used in an alien film this one? Shot down at the car park Back up to the beautiful sky… To the left a bit… Gorgeous! Nightie-night!
Copy of last week’s BP results, etc., that cost me so much time in preparing to send to the Doctors as requested. You would not belive the mistakes I had to correct… probably still some in it. Humph!
Bad day again. Old Pains back. Catheter crippling Little Inchie. making his Fungal Lesion bleed again. The Mystery Rib Pains started again! Dizzy Dennis, balance shot to pieces, concentration not available. Eyes worse, the six weeks of Trotsky Terence in command of the Porcelain Visits seems to have come to an abrupt end.
I’ve not passed from the rear end all day! Just burnt my knee on the oven shelf while putting the food in the oven; during a most inappropriately timed Neuropathy Pete leg dance. Can’t find my mobile. send the top strap on the day catheter had fallen off – used sellotape. Not feeling too great. Stuffed painkillers down my throat all day.
Got up late, still well behind with the sleep.
Within half an hour of taking off the night bag, what bit of urines had flowed, was looking decidedly bloody again! Still, you don’t like to complain, does yer.
Morning views. I was trying to catch the seagulls but didn’t so too well.
.
Mid-morning, tried again to get a photo of the gulls. They were Quick – especially when they find a rat or squirrel for lunch. Then the fighting between them begins.
The blood flowed again in the evening.
Better get summat to eat. I’ve revived the burnt chilli, and added a can of beans; it should do me.
Arrived to medicate me and get the detached from the & .
She got the socks on my feet for me. We had a mini-nattering session, with laughs included. Good Medicine, Laughter Thanked her, and off she trotted, saying hose will see me later.
♫ Food, Glorious Food ♫ Prepared and served up
I resuscitated the leftover chilli from last night and added a can of cheap baked beans to it and four ersatz sausages, and some tomato passata. Some BBQ sauces were stirred into the mix, and it tasted grand. I had the last two cobs, no bread left now. I’ve ordered some cobs from Iceland that are on offer. Sliced wholemeal with six in a bag, and three bags for £3, also 2×4 Wheatmeal long cobs. I reckon there will be room in the freezer to store them for longer. Of course, Iceland is infamously known for their ‘None-In-Stock’ notifications on bread lines; that’s why I’ve ordered two types. But only temporarily. I’ll find out in the morning if they arrive or not.
“May you go forth and have fun festivities frequently!”
Sorry again; lots of hassle and ailments today. Photos mostly.
Jolly Good Morning each… although that was not the case. Hehehe!
Catheter Problems. Problems.
Caught out too slowly to get to –
Morning view, first photo.
Car parking on Chestnut Way
Delivery arriving for someone
The carer, Jodie, tried to ring the Doctors for me.
No answer – She’ll try again later.
Dropped mug of Glengettie.
Luckily not much tea in it.
Started the
going again with the bending down to clean up.
The sun tried to come out for a while. Knocked the knife box of of the kitchen shelf.
No damage or harm, other than when trying to pick them up. .
Starting to get dark early today.
Or is it me getting confused?
Where did I put the hearing aids?
Not that it mattered that much, they
were well passed their workable age.
Mind you, so am I. Hehe!
Had a job getting any of the collection of old
spectacles that would help me see as it
got darker. Ended up with a narrow reading
, but they are not working well this time.
Two teatime shots of the sun setting
Getting nosh done, I may return later, or
maybe in the morning...
Yes, that seems more likely…
I’m feeling shattered!
Morning: Continued from Monday
I made start eating this great-flavoured nosh.
Arrived as I was tucking into it.
Got the meds sorted. A quick natter of what I cannot recall. I get a lot of things that I cannot recall lately. Tsk!
Richard .
I put the pots in the sink, and Richard helped me bag the waste
and took the bags with him as he left. I hobbled with him,
walking stick and night pouch with tubing, to the door
and locked the door after we’d said our farewells.
I . The usual routine, waking up often and falling
back to the land of nod with no bother.
At about 02:30hrs, I woke in a different style than all the others were; I was.
convinced a loud noise had woken me (Could have been me dreaming?)
I struggled up, got the night bag tubing in hand, put the light on, and had a look around the flat in every room. But there were n signs or indications of
anything untoward that may have woken me up? Was it the Mysteries of Woodthorpe Court, with the hobgoblins, spectres, gnomai, phantasms, ghosts, the grotesque succubae, extraterrestrials, ectoplasms, spirits, or the Fata Morganas, that have been sent to taunt, irritate and terminate my already limited saneness of mind?. Or mayhap Doreen Dementia toying with me? A Nightmare or dream? The late meal may have contributed…
Anyway, after I finished the search around, put my Deerstalker on the hook, the spyglass and torch in the draw. I decided to stay up and get the done.
03:15hrs: I woke, wee-wee’d, and went to sort the waste bags… and realised how confused I was this morning. milling-about in the brain were a few concerns that took priority in the fretting stakes: Will the Easy-Link be calling at 09:30hrs, as I wrote in the Google calendar? Did I put in on the right day? How easily the mode comes to one! This, I think, was because they usually ring me to confirm the day before – but, of course, I was out yesterday at the quacks, so so not know if they tried or not. Indicating to my perilously inept mind that perhaps I got the day wrong… or did I? Ah, it was Esther who called for me to book the lifts, wasn’t it? Yes, they should be coming today… He says…
I got the blog updating done and posted Tuesdays off to WordPress. Took me a few hours, but I got there. I was going to get a brew of LGengettie. But, I thought I’d have time to get the done before Carer Richard arrived. I rushed doing them, so I hope I got it all right. No time for me to worry about this big increase up to the Hypertension – Zone Two, Red area.
As I said, it may have been me rushing so much, and I made a cock-up somewhere along the line? I hope!
I’ve still got to get the ablutions done, and I have yet to make a brew of Glengettie.
A FEW FOLLOWED! NOT A GOOD START!
I went into the kitchen, taking last night’s plate tray and cutlery to wash and get the kettle on. Having my hand on the tray and the other on the walking stick, I popped the things in the sink and ran the hot tap, then turned to put the light on… Flash, flicker… it was blinding! I can tell you that was not impressed, and all but had me on the floor, but I turned off the presumably dying tube in time. I was virtually blinded. (Obviously, it was still dark at the time!) So, I needed a brew made, and got the wind-up torch and made the tea using that to see by. Took the brew and went back to the computer.
I Pinterested some photographs from yesterday, and I finished off the Ode for today’s blog and graphicalised it.
I’ll have to get the ablutions done and be quick about it; good job Richard was running late.
THREE! Took the mug back into the kitchen, remembering not to turn on the light and take the torch with me, and I temporarily, very temporarily, a . I’d left the hot tap running again!!!! Now I was in trouble! How do I get a shave and wash using boiled hot water from the saucepans and kettle… more seriously; is how do I carry them with the walking stick and no lights on in the kitchen? Will let me see enough to do it? Mayhap the will cause me to lose my grip, or as he has been known on many occasions, not allow me to let go of things? What do I do if get an And; where do I stick the torch, then? No! Don’t say that! Hehehe! It was getting lighter now, so soon I’ll be able to get on with the ablutions.
Came in while I was filling the two saucepans with cold. He turned the light on, but I was too slow to stop him. Hahaha! I related my Whoopsiedangleplops of the morning to him. Richard got the medications sorted, then showed his concern and compassion by ringing Nottingham City Homes for me about the light. He pointed out the dangers of another night trying to cook in a dark kitchen. He told me when he’d done that, I was to call them straight away when I got back from the appointment and ask for a visit. The lad even wrote this on the back of the whiteboard and left it on the Carers table, where I’d be bound to see it. We spent a while, deep in conversation, but Richard had to go; it was his last shift of the rota. The lad looked tired. He has not recovered-fully himself yet. Gave him some treats on his way. I have a semi-warm wash, in water, provided by Richard to the wet room sink. But I just didn’t think I’d have the time for a shave, just a good stand-up as best I could. Then checked everything was safe in the flat, got dressed, and completed the checklist consulted… Then checked everything was safe in the flat! . Finally, escaped the flat… but was earlier than I realised.
Out into the floor lobby with the trolley and into the lift (elevator). On the way down, I had a moment of real uncertainty; Had I locked the flat door? But then turned to wonder if I’ll get down in time for the lift. My thoughts were flighty this morning, now. Checked the time on my quality £8 bought off of Bulwell Market watch. Ah, plenty of time yet! I tried to read the electronic news board outside the lift. But no, even as big as the letters were, the eyes couldn’t decipher what they said. I think the flashing kitchen lights this morning may have had some effect. (It did!) After all that faffing about and fretting, I’d still got half an hour to spare before the Easy-Link bus was due to arrive at Winwood Heights Prison… No, no, no, Flats. I got the crossword book out and had a go at it.
I even managed to get a few solutions in.
The minibus arrived at 09:35hrs. T’was a nice driver, who likes a natter at times, which suited me, other than I could not hear much of what she was saying to me. We arrived at the clinic dead on time. I was a little late by the time I found the right room to go to. No details to mention other than it went very well. I departed out into the pouring rain. (Again! Every time I go to Bulwell, it seems to rain) I tried to use steer the walker-guide trolley with one hand and hold an umbrella with the other. Not successful at all. It was too windy with it! No control over the movement of the guide with one hand. The rain hit me smack in the face. Within minutes, the shoes had acquired enough water to fill a small goldfish tank. Taking the photos was risky; there was no way to avoid the rain. Well, other than to dive into a shop. Hehe! Which I did; the first one was the B&M store. I got some different drinks there for the carers and nurses. Along with BBQ sauce, they only had one to pick from, a large Heinz one, for £3 . Some chocolates for Christmas gifts. Plain caramelised and shortcake biscuits (For me, me, me!, Hehe!). Oh, and some nuts.
Paid my dues, and outside, got soaked, and ducked into the Heron Food Store. where more bank-manager-worrying transactions took place. Vegetarian sausages, vegan pie, cakes and chocolates for the treats shelf. Kitchen towels, three different brands of BBQ sauce, and three cans of ready-mixed drinks I’d never heard of. Got the last two cans of Martini & Passion Fruit, which sounded posh, and the last one of Vodka Raspberry & Rhubarb. So, there’ll be no more on offer, folks. Come over and see me! Hahaha!
Off to the Wilko Store to see if they had any cooking tongues. I was wet and tired by then. The store is massive, and finding things took me yonks. Eventually, I found the right section, and they just had one type on sale. I was pretty sure that they were £1.99 last year when I bought them. Now they are £3, identical to the others. I was on the way trying to find out where the checkouts were, and I spotted the pet food shelves. Had a look at the bird food, and I bought a large packet; they were not a bad price at all, I thought, at £1.75. (I got them home and found it was Rat Food!) Still, it feels small enough for the birds to eat it? Later I searched the web for a photo of these to save me from taking out the Lumix that was low on battery power and charging up.
Guess what; this picture was from last month; it said October 15th. A hike of 50p a pack! As I said, I hope the birds can feed on it?
Found the checkout and paid the lady. Then I went to the cobbler’s stall that Richard told me about; to ask the price of watch batteries. The leery smart-alecky manager stood there with his hands on his hips and answered with a smirk when I asked him: “Well, that depends if you mean for a Rolex or (some other name I didn’t recognise). They can cost hundreds of…” I rudely interrupted him, “That depends if you charge extra for the sarcasm and your snotty attitude – adding quickly – My watches are cheap rubbish £8 ones from the Market Stall… Sorry to bother you!” And I almost proudly walked away, no idea if he said anything, I couldn’t hear him if he did, and didn’t look back either (He was a big lad! – Hehe!) Smart Alec, smug Git! – Is what I really wanted to say, but being a natural-born coward, I didn’t!
I realised I had to make my way back to the Medical Centre in the rain, so ambled alongside the river Leen, passing the yobboes-delight free-scooter base. Last Friday, there were nine Escooters in the racking. I was surprised with the weather that so many had been used… or were they stolen, mayhap? Just a thought!
I got back to the centre with plenty of time to spare to catch the minibus when it did arrive. I thought I’d have another go at the crossword book. But after looking through the three bags of stuff I had and couldn’t find it, I decided not to. If I dug into them, the rainwater would spread over everything even more than it had. Did you see that? A moment of clarity if thought that made sense.
I read some of the labels on the stuff on top of the bags. Were you aware that Lotus Biscoff Caramelised Biscuits contain Wheat flour, sugar, vegetable oil (palm oil from sustainable and certified plantations, rapeseed oil), candy sugar syrup, raising agent (sodium hydrogen carbonate), soy flour, salt, and cinnamon? Haha!
The mini-bus with the same lady driver (I think?) arrived spot on time. We managed a little nattering en route. The traffic was horrendous. The gal dropped me off as I asked her to, and the Winchester Block, so I could try to get in touch with ILC, Night Club Bouncer, Trapeze artist, and jolly good egg, Obersturmbannführeress Deana. I met Esther as I went in. She told me that the ILCs (Independent Living Coordinators) and the Big Brass were having a Pow-Wow. So that was the end of my hopes to ask for help with arranging a lift for the hospital and surgery, one for next week, the other for January at the Nuthall Brain Disorder Hospital. And, with understanding the eight double-sided A4 pages of instructions, the three guide booklets are too small in print for me to read. Oh, and I was going to ask her to ring Maintenance, as they told Richard this morning for me to tell them I got back. Hey-Ho! Esther came up with me to the flat. She kindly rang the maintenance people. Here she is, giving me the dagger looks. Hehehe! The lady on the phone told Esther they would be here within 24 hours. That could be difficult for me. Having to get anything done like cooking or cleaning in the darkness, using a torch. But it can’t be helped. Thanks to Esther. Anyway, they may call earlier. She asked if I wanted my laundry done today. I said no thanks, do it whenever you want to. Then explained that she digs into everything all the time, and I did not want her to find things that I’d got her for Christmas. Good that? But it’s true.
I started to unpack and store away the purchases. Those in this photo: The Skinny treats are for the ILCs, and any left for the Carers treat stand.
The caramelised biscuits and Haribo Marshmallows are for the good-looking, young, handsome beast known as Inchie, Inchcock or Gerry. Hehehe! Definitely just for the old man these are. The new Wilko tongues are next to the old ones that have started to fall to pieces (the red plastic bits fell off).
To the right, some bargain-priced shortcake biscuits I bought to share, and I tried one myself. Too sweet for me, though. Aha, now I’ve got a few bottles of BBQ sauce. The Crucial ones were very cheap, but you never know, I might like them.
The Heinz and Hellmans (So pricey, but nice!) I’ve had them before, and they are tasty enough for me. I do love BBQ sauce if they are not too strong. I was going to get something to eat before the darkness fell. But, No! I got into updating this blog, and the rest of the world did not exist for the next six hours. I was frustrated and embarrassed, I was making so many errors grammatically, and the most common of words kept hiding behind that witch . I did get a little with things but just pressed on, hoping for the best.Even as my energy sank, & tiredness loomed.
Eventually, I realised that getting soaked to the skin earlier had not done me a lot of good. A sore throat was developing, and I was occasionally having little shivers running through me. I got a warm hat on and took a Codeine 30g and Paracetamol. The eyes were worse than ever then, which slowed me down even more on the blogging! and
Ooh, the legs have suddenly gone all cold? But why? I’m not sure. Hello, on the move now! So I got the thick bobble cap and jammie bottoms on and the trews off. Brrr! No, that’s not worked. So, being the cunningly clever person I am, I got the thick dressing gown out of the laundry bag and got that on, with a jumper underneath it. Blimey, it’s gone cold… or I have. Haha!
I don’t know what’s going on here; now, the hurtful flaming on the right foot is suddenly giving me pain. No either? It just kicked off while I was sitting here on the computer. All a part of the mysteries of Woodthorpe Court, with the ghosts, wraiths, spectres, cacodemons, apparitions, and other grotesqueries that haunt the hallways and lobbies, searching for Inchcock; to curse with bad luck, create ambiguities, abstrucities, perplexities, misfortunes and botherations, to scare. worry and confuse me, I suppose.
The rain is still coming down out there. I took this photo when I was taking a rest from the computer and making a mug of Thompson’s Punjana tea. The rain stopped for a bit minutes later. I got the mug of Punjana tea made, then returned to the computer to press on with this blog. But not for long. I got the urge to go ing. I just had to check the kitchen again since I tried the hot water tap, and it was warming up nicely; the fear of leaving it running forced me to check. All okay this time. The change in the view from ten minutes ago was . I’d still got the camera in my pocket, so took this shot of the blueish scene on view.
The Carer arrived. It was a new starter, a young man, who introduced himself as Ty. Who got the medications sorted out. He was a little serious, but that is perfectly understandable, reasonable, indeed, almost inevitable for a new starter on his first day on the job. I think he’ll be alright. Hope he is and stays. He did not take the waste bag with him, but then I forgot to ask him to; that’s fair enough to me.
Somehow, after being up for seventeen hours, getting soaked to the skin, spending money like it was going out of fashion, and now shivering and so tired, and not having eaten anything, I was not doing badly. But the blogging I used to love so much is almost becoming a burden. Especially at times like this, where I’ve had two medical appointments in a row, can only result in more lack of sleep, and mistakes being made, and losing even more time cocking up the amendments I’ve made. And probably getting the correction wrong as well. So very .
Then, I had a lump of good luck! Oh, Yes, Sirree! Grrreat. sounded, and the Electrician from Nottingham City Homes Maintenance came in. I thought I’d seen him before; in fact, I was pretty certain it was this chap who had changed the neon tube in the kitchen about a year ago. And here he was back again. And as it turned out, I was right! Yes, Me, Right! . He said he remembered me when the job came in. He was going off shift, but thought, being as it was for me, he called to do the job. That was so nice of him! He got the tube changed in no time. I asked him to take a treat from the selection on show. I thought it nice that he said he’d take his wife a Strawberry Daiquiri to treat her tonight. Nice touch! Well done, mate!. Back to the slog, updating this blog. And it was gone midnight by the time I’d done it, and ready for the 215th grammar checking!
Then that the kicked off. Around and around! I had no chance of getting things sorted out then, so they’ll have to wait until mind-boggling thoughts have ceased. I went to make a brew, being as I can now see what I’m doing again now the lights have been replaced. I took this shot of the morning view from the kitchen window while waiting for the kettle to boil and theto pack up! In which I had a bit of luck…
I trapped the burnt index in the window when closing it. Which was most painful (I can’t understand why this particular wound hurts so much – worse than any of the others did?) But it seemed to kill off the darned , Grrreat!
It’s no good. I’ll have to get this sorted later; I’m all in. See you in the morning… Oh, it is the morning… I’ll get summat to eat and get my head down.
