Inchy Today: Wed/Thurs 1st-2nd July

Inchies’ Ode to his legs and feet
Left leg thinner, right one bigger,
Right knee okay, left one even benter,
Both feet swollen, hurtful & bloated,
My limbs are going multicoloured,
The brain? Getting lackadaisicalalised,
My toes bent, swollen and warped,
She’s stopped calling me, my toenail cutter,
Can’t find another, but my savings wither,
No long calls this week from any Carer,
My need for the ATM is getting seriouser,
The world is on its way to being extirpated,
Who gets all he needs? Only an Oligarcher,
Life? Never
balanced, levelled, or equated,

One  gets depressed and so frustrated,
Never getting cared for or compensated,

Medical needs get hampered and hindered,
Robots, AIs, reality; humanity absconded,
Never have so many felt aporia…
Never so many are getting poorer,
The same can be said of dysphoria,
Such disrespect for the ass, the law,
The old, abandoned, get more austere,

Living with no hope, just fear!

MOANING TIME
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

The Carer phoned the EENT number for QMC Hospital, Nottingham. As they had asked me to schedule an appointment for the pre-op Cataract test. I had a seizure while having the first one and spent the night in Cardiac. They told him to ring back later or next week. After he’d gone, I gave it a go but checked the number again to ensure I’d got the right one. Google gave me the extension: 81111. So I rang the switchboard and pressed 81111 when instructed; it was engaged. I tried again later; it was engaged. One more try, and I got to a human for the first time. Who told me I’d rang the wrong number? Ring the switchboard and ask them for the extension. Which I’d done earlier. It got confusing then as she gave me the 81111 extension to ring. This is the ENT’s number, not the eye specialist’s. This is a photo I took the last time I went there.
Clearly stating EYE, Ear, Nose and Throat Centre.
Can the NHS really be getting this bad? Yes!

Mind you, they were four months ago, after my seizure visit. While being uncertain if I had finished the examination, due to the seizure. I asked a Carer to ring them and ask whether I have to book again. Whichever lady answered him, he asked my query and told:
“They know what they are doing!” But I didn’t.
Four months later, I get the email to call them to book again. But still I can’t get through again!
ANOTHER FAILURE
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Then, in response to a Red Cross text, telling me this is a Health & Safety issue and that the electrician has to call to do Safety Checks (on the hospital bed they loaned me). The Carer rang them today. They had no information about this. She offered an appointment for 8th July, which clashed with my wait of 7 weeks to see the Doctor. Best ring back again next week? Despite the reference number being revealed.

ANOTHER FAILURE

Then, while doing the Ode, the computer froze on me. The new week-old computer that I cannot urge the repairman who bought and fitted it, and took his money, to come back to look at it.

ANOTHER FAILURE

No wonder I get Depressed.

Got the Ode done, and food arrived. Followed an hour later by another food delivery from a different store.

Better get a stand-up wash & shave.

THURSDAY 2nd JULY
Another night of waking up with a jump.
Around 04:00hrs, I felt the need for the Porcelain Throne. I gingerly got out of the bed and hobbled nervously to the wet room. My balance was all over the place. As was expected with my swollen toes, feet and legs. I took two sticks with me and got there with plenty of time to spare. And stayed there on the Throne for a long time. Constipation Conrad was in full charge. Still, no mess to clean up. The piles bled a fair bit, and it was painful to urge the one torpedo-shaped mass, which hit the water with a clunk, leaving about 30% sticking out of the water. I was glad to get rid of that one. Got back into bed at 04:30hrs and nodded of easily again.
04:50hrs, I sprang awake in need of another evacuation. No doubt about it, this one was not going to come out in the same mode, because it was already coming of its own accord, into my Protection Pants!
I was concerned that I might not be able to stop the flow before getting there. But somehow I did, thankfully. Talk about opposites. This motion was all done and dusted in about 30 seconds. Took a while to clean myself up. I cannot get the PP’s on myself easily, and tore them a little, but got them on after washing things; me and the basin. Back into the bed, now with the back & shoulder hurting, from the battle to get the pants on. Settled again at around 0520hrs. I’d not even got back to sleep, and another flower-up was on its way! Fumbled as quickly as I could manage, making it with seconds to spare. Very splashy and runny. Again, it was all over very quickly. Heck of a mess to clean up again. I stayed in the wet room, thinking I’d have a shave, then be prepared for any action. But those plans were hijacked when I realised the hot water wasn’t even warm. So, I pressed the booster button on the meter and got back into the hospital bed yet again.
This time I nodded off easily… for about 15 minutes,
Then another torrent needed dealing with. I reckon this was a fourth in 2 hours. I was sure I’d not make it in time… And I didn’t.
Self-lambasting, swearing, and frustration flowed.
The actual evacuation took about ten seconds, virtually all water, more than any brown stuff. Sorting the mess out took me yonks. I tore off the PPs, but it was too painful to bend to get a new pair on. So I put on my thin dressing gown and returned to the bed about 0650hrs. I lay thinking what might have caused all these follow-up torrents, especially after the initial bum-bursting bomb. The only thing I could think of was that maybe my having the two pots of noodles yesterday, morning and evening, may have played a part? I actually fell asleep again.
I heard the doorbell’s 🎶Oh Suzanna🎶chime playing, but I must have heard it after it had been going for a while, cause it stopped as I tried to get out of the bed.
Carer Mizra came in; lovely to see him. He’s been doing early and late calls this week. Ejaz has only done one call this week. Damned good job, too. The other two bully boys are making my life a misery. If only they would send Ejaz & Mizra like they used to. The extended visits I’m paying for on Tue and Wed did not come. But the charges are the same. Another one on Saturday might come. Then I can get some money from the ATM to pay a toecutter and a window cleaner… if I’ve got enough left in my account, of course.

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Today was a mix of good, bad and lousy
But I spent most of it trying to catch up on my Odes word list.

I got carried away with it. I don’t know why I’m bothering. I won’t live long enough to do all the lost work, thanks to the new computer not working properly. Yet another aspect of my luck and the mysteries of Woodthorpe Court, with the hobgoblins, spectres, gnomai, phantasms, ghosts, the grotesque succubae, extraterrestrials, ectoplasms, and spirits. Receptive Aphasia Phyllis, Paroxysmal dyskinesia, Episodic ataxia, Ménière’s disease, Dark, Deep, Depressing Duncan, Peripheral Neuropathy Pete, Nicodemus Neurotransmitters Dying, Glaucoma Gladys, Stuttering Stephany, Lymphorrhea Leslie, Premorbid Cognitive Impairment, the damned seizures, or the Fata Morganas. The problems with British Gas & Virgin Media. The EENT, A&E, Neurology, Urology, Red Cross, the Catheter, Doctors, and a six-week wait for appointments. That have been sent to taunt, irritate and terminate my already limited sanity of mind. My faith, health, and logicality were already on the wane.
Just thought I’d mention it. Hehehe!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
GREAT SURPRISE!
Matron Jackie came with a trainee Nurse to see me today. Someone who cares and listens. It gave me a lift.

Especially when the Navigator I phoned about my right leg told me I am not on record as having problems. Contact your Doctor. Which, I admit, got to me. After waiting 5 weeks for the earliest available appointment, the earliest available appointment is next week. Wednesday, 15th July, I have a longer list of problems than ever, and she will never have the time for me to read them to her. Originally, my swollen right leg and painful right shoulder were on the list. Now added are the Catheter farce, lack of advice, told to go to A&E straight away in a taxi, as it is a Medical Emergency when your Catheter blocks. So, first, there is a £30 cost of a taxi there and back. The one visit I made was caught in a traffic jam on the ring road, and it cost me £25.40. I struggled to find the £30 in the first place; now I didn’t have enough to get home. I worried before the 5-hour wait to see the Doctor.
Medical Emergency?

I explained all this to Matron. Who did something amazing – She listened to me! Bless Her!
She sorted out the Catheter, making sure the night bag fits this old Catheter.
Then suggested that I take a ‘Respite Visit’ to a home.
After mentioning all the things, appointments coming, and those not sorted, BG, EENT. I’ve emailed Jenny a copy of the PALS replies to my complaints. Bless her for her help & support.

Looking good. They are contacting Senior Management at the Hospital Trusts, and if I don’t hear from them within two weeks, they will follow up again!

Carer Mizra said he would try to give me a shower in the morning. Great lad Mizra, as is Ejaz, but they seem to be… no, have reduced their visits to me. This did not work out I’m afraid. I had another series of terrible Trotsky Teremce Torrents

INCHY’S SPORTING FAILURES
Football for Oil Drum Lane Athletic,
They soon discovered I was pathetic…
I’d like to have tried something aquabatic,
But if I go near water, I panic,
Whist; for my partners, this was tragic!
They threw me out, but I was apologetic,
Weight lifting? 1st session, I looked cadaveric!
Angling Club had no wins, but I was the bus comic,
Darts, I played better, avoiding the gin & tonic,
Mt teammates christened me ‘The Dipshit’!
At that, I found I was even more chronic!
Now, at squash, I was doing well, almost dynamic,
Of course, I didn’t win any games, dammit!
Archery, not strong enough or ergonomic…
Parachuting, I did one; it was too frenetic!
Bungee Jumping, I did one, and it was fantastic!
Second go, that was something of a classic,
I ended up in the hospital when the platform split,
Gave me a skrik, it left me spasmatic,
On a machine, I think it was electrotherapeutic,
On to my time being sportingly pugilistic,
I may have been nervous, but I went ballistic…
I was too small. That was my sitch…
The first punch I took, I was kayoed out of it!
The reasons above for this ode reading are so threnodic!

Yet again, it was a night of broken sleep. A little different, though, this time. The usual trend lately is for me to wake with a jump or jerk, as if someone had prodded me awake. Most of Saturday night’s last night’s disturbances were almost calm and serene. But there were far more of them this time. I was having the odd mini-seizure now and then, most times after waking. Working out the time was surprisingly difficult… did you ask why? Then I’ll tell yers. I first went into the land of bliss as I was watching TV, and… unbeknownst to me, I moved into the hospital bed. When I decided to get up, I wondered what the heck was happening. (Thinking that I was in the recliner) I looked at the clock and saw the wall about 4 inches from my nose! Hehehe!
I tried to stand up to remove the nocturnal catheter pouch off. For a few moments, I was baffled by the situation. As I turned and hit my head on the anti-fall bar, I realised where I was and could not find the clock.

Extracting my flabby body from the bed went great! Because both Cartilage Chloe and Carole were painless. Arthur Itis’s stiffness was letting me know about it. Once I sat on the side of the bed, I checked the clock; it was 05:10hrs. I got the bag off of the catheter. There was not much urine in it, and it was of a top-rating colour on the card.

I wanted a mug of tea, so I went into the kitchen, checked taps, etc. and took two photos of the morning view, and it was fogless for the first time in three days.
So, the pictures looked semi-decent compared to the foggy ones taken over the last few days. I decided the next job would be to get the done.

I utilised the Porcelain Throne first… well, I meant to. But Constipation Conrad prevented any motions from starting.
I realised I’d not got the tackle needed. So I fetched the bath towel and Kagoule, Kaftan, Thobe, Longshirt, or whatever you call it, from the hallway. Returned to the wet room, and showered, and shaved.
Apart from a little difficulty getting the fresh Protection Pants on, all went so well that I thought it might be a last treat from the almighty before the Grim Reaper arrives. Haha!
Also, it took only 1 hour 30 minutes from start to finish!

!
All fresh, clean, and in a good mood, given how well the ablutions had gone, I went to the kitchen to make the mug of Glengettie that I’d failed to make earlier. I got the kettle on again… The innards warned me to get back to the Porcelain Throne post haste! So, I did… I cannot believe how things changed so much. At the first sitting, nothing would move, and as seen, I blamed Constipation Conrad.
But it was a performance this time. I have never been so close to a voluntary evacuation before without it happening!
So I think I had a bit of luck there, really.

I got the tea made and reset the retro 1970s-style clock calendar. Then I got on the computer. Ten minutes later, I fumbled  back as fast as possible to get to the Porcelain Throne again! Yet again, apart from Starmer, someone must have been watching over me. Because it was as close a job to things escaping as it was on the second visit! Phew! Can this good fortune last? Is it a trick by the devil to make me relax and get caught out on the next visit? I expect to have a few more yet. The innards started slowly churning again no sooner than when I sat back down on the computer. I’ll avoid starting to feel optimistic about the situation. My belief that things will finally turn around, only for another adverse event to happen, reinforces the idea that my bad luck is persistent.  Well, it is! Tsk!

Carer Kimberly arrived; I’ve not started on any blog work yet. I forgot to ask her to put my diabetic socks on for me. What a turd I am! Sometimes, the Carers remember, but not today. Not that I blame them. Just wish I could remember to ask.

When Kimberly left, I thought about what to have for nosh tonight. I had a look at the food available in the kitchen, fridge, cupboards and freezer
I put some spuds into the slow cooker. Then, what did I do after seeing the morning view getting more blue? I took a photo; in fact, I took two. I’ll blow this second one up.
Can you tell what the things in the sky are? None in the first shot, just the close-up one? Thanks!
Of course, it could be some gunk on the lens? I’ll see what the next one looks like.
I’ll have some Golonkowa later on the meal. I love pork knuckle. This Polish can of it usually have plenty of pork jelly included. Very nice! I’ve got the memory of the taste coming back now.

I was tempted to nibble at the LU Cookies, my new favourite biscuit nowadays. If I open the packet, I may be tempted to eat a few, spoiling the dinner later. So, I resisted the temptation. It’s easy when you are as determined as I am to do the right thing. Alright, I only ate
two of them! .

The blog work is getting slower and slower and becoming more mistake-ridden. I am determined to get it together and to concentrate. Then Carer Selina arrived. I’ve not seen her for weeks. She has been off for a while with a broken foot! I forgot to ask her to put the socks on again. We were having a little natter… I went into what (Selina thinks were two) mid-conversation.This time, it seemed I just looked like I’d fallen asleep, but I was muttering. I can recall nothing of it while I was out of it. Then, according to Selina, I started carrying on from our conversation… after a few words, I drifted off again. I think it was good that someone had seen it as it happened. But she said it frit her a bit.

After she left, blurred my vision, and I had to give up on the blog. I’m unsure if it was in the report, as I couldn’t read the writing. Not that anyone reads them.

I think I took this photo earlier in the day. But midst the seizures, I managed to miss it off then. I do that a lot, you know… miss things off.
These I took when I went to the fifth mug of tea of the day. I did manage to drink one of them… I think I did. I’m all over the place mentally now.
Ah, I just saw the circle I put on this one on the left. Same snap as the one on the right above. I’ve blown it up. I’m hoping that someone can determine what it is. Well, I know not what it is. Is it a bird? Is it an alien? Is it an Angel? Or is another freebie donation being delivered to Starmer as a backhander?

A Day of Mysteries, Today.

Ah, well, I’ll get summat to eat then.
Golonkowa, pickled beetroot & water chestnuts, cheesy no-butter, buttered bread rolls, and some tasteless potatoes that need the sauce to flavour them. The biggest disappointment? The crap, bland, going soft tomatoes!
But I ate it all… bar some of the spuds.

Flaky Acne Inchy: Friday 18th October 2024

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Just half a mile away from the flats. A lot has been happening around here lately. Two pensioners mugged at the bus stop in Sherwood. Three drug raids with sight from the kitchen window. The 13-year-old in Carrington with weapons. Carrington Co-op staff attacked by shoplifters. Care Home closed down after patients died overnight, and no one noticed until the morning wake-up call. Humph! No, sorry, that was in Nottinghamshire!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Yet another nodding off and waking up again every few minutes of the night.
Then, taking off the nocturnal catheter pouch, I felt pain from Little Inchy. I must remember some things; I wrote down some reminders and left them in the Carer’s folder. Some carers do all these jobs, but other non-regular ones mean I have to remember to ask them, and I forget too so often.: ① I must ask the Caregiver to replace the day catheter bag, and ② put the pouch sleeve back on. ③ I must get the full ablutions done early! (I’m sorry if I disturb any neighbours with the noise, but my lower regions will need medical attention to investigate why this morning’s terrible pains came on. Things are much easier to get at in the shower and easier to clean in the event of any bleeding.)
④ Remember to ask for the vitamin tablet. ⑤ Ask the Carer to take the laundry down for me. ⑥ And to put my diabetic socks back on for me. The last item on the memo was aimed at me only; ⑦ It is guaranteed that the computer will stop me from getting graphics and photos onto WordPress or any file (Sadly!). I must not get all het-up when this happens; I’ve been getting myself in a bit of a state with the frustration & depression it causes. Now, even if only protem, I have written down the actions needed to try and correct it, and it usually works, but it takes me over the day, hours!
Maybe I wanted to mention this as a cry for help.
We’ll see if I can stay calmer today when it happens. Or I should say, each time it happens. Sad, innit?

On my way to the wet room, I went into the kitchen to check that the faucet doors and cooker had been left safely.
Just look at the foggy view I photographed from the kitchenette window! I noticed the kitchen clock—it was only 04:00 hrs! A smidge of guilt arose within me for having a shower so early in the day.

I got the bath towel from the airer, turned it off, ensured there was enough medical stuff to use, and started the proceedings.
First, the Porcelain Throne. What a gooey, sticky mess. I think I used a full roll of toilet paper and tissues to clean myself up after the evacuation. The Dettol disinfectant was almost used up.
Then the teeth, and then I started shaving. I couldn’t understand why I had so many cuts and nicks. They were no bother whilst I was shaving. The back of the head, almost on the neck, suffered the most; there were too many to count, but none of them were any real bother. Another mystery is that being bald, I’ve never had to shave the neck for donkey years. Then, at the end of last year, the hairs started to grow there again. Last week, Carer Christopher said they were white. Haha!
Now, the pleasant bit, getting under the shower.
I had a leisurely but good session. I used the long brush to try and remove as much of the eczema as possible on the ankles, and I hosed the skin down the drain hole.

I sat in the shower chair to investigate the cause of Little Inchy’s pain. I was baffled! There were only a few specks of blood from the Fungal Lesion, far less than usual in the morning, yet while I was in the shower, no pain at all? I found out later that it came on mostly when I was seated throughout the day. I didn’t want to stop the showering; I enjoyed it so much. Little Inchy was not enjoying it. Because my taking off the bag cover pouch to have the shower meant, as I exited, the bag was swinging and pulling on Little Inchy. But I think I’d done well all the same in this session… Then, after drying myself off with the bath towel under the wall heater, I needed to get the medicationings done… Oh, dearie me! I did something I’ve never done ever since the cancer and lesion were treated. For years, I’ve left medicating the most painful, the lesion, until last – today, I started with that task. A few Oohs and the drop Arghs were expounded, with the odd Ouch thrown in. Perfectly normal!
Then, I went to get the Ketoconazole ointment. But they had sent a different one this time, Betamethasone cream. Carer Chloe told me earlier when it was delivered that the contents were exactly the same as the usual Clotrimazole ointment. I got the thin application sticks, ensured Little Inchy was 100% dry, and popped some on the end. I started to rub it in with the usual preparedness for pain. Why have I not been given this one before? I’m not saying it didn’t hurt, but it was far less painful than the regular one! I was pleasantly pleased!
Then, the hard-to-get-at job; well, not on the face, but the ankles. The cream. I put cream on a tissue or muslin strip and use the picker-upperer to get it on the ankles. No problem. The eczema on the arns was easy to reach. Then, the red rash was ointmentated. The ears were olive-oiled. Then, the not-cheap Blepha eye treatments were done. Thank heavens that the NHS has not stopped funding the cost of the Phorpain Gel for the knees, Arthur Itis, and Duloxetine Cartilages Carole & Chloe, and for Colin Cramps.

Finally, the ablutions were completed. It was a long, long session. After belatedly changing the date and day, I took this picture of the antiquated 1970s clock.

Jiminnee Cricket, the fog was even thicker now. Took this snap. I got the kettle on to brew tasty Thompson’s Punjana tea.
Carer Chris arrived while I was on the computer and coming out of a . The lad didn’t need asking; he got the diabetic socks on, the med pouch, and the Vit B12 tablets. I thought, by gum, he’s on form this morning. Then I remembered I’d left the note on his table. Hehehe!

I started blogging stuttering, and it only got stutterer as time passed. The cCleaner routine had to be activated and completed before I could get the third graphic on this post. It was not as successful as yesterday’s, and within an hour or so, the failure to save things started again!
I was about to begin it, and Carer Joanne arrived. She’d been to the hospital again and was not pleased with the lack of interest shown in her catheter problems and pain. I felt terrible for her. She would not have said anything unless I had asked how she was doing in that department. She’s the salt of the earth kind of lady, so I like her. I resisted telling her about the pain I was in with mine. I thought there was no need to make things damper.
Bless her cotton socks.

She departed, and I again went through the albeit unguaranteed-to-work computer memory recovery program. I happened to note the time when I started this: 13:40 hrs. I got it done—I thought—at 15:35 hrs! But it lasted for only three photos to get on. I’m using some of those in the gallery, where they were suitable. I took a lot of photos as well.

I am now starting the third procedure but with little faith. At least, up to now, I’ve not sunk into silly thoughts with the depression. I’ll be back in a couple of hours, I imagine. And try to load the photos again. I can feel some emotion brewing, so I anticipate losing it. Back later.

Good Heavens, it worked! I hastily uploaded the photos to the gallery, but I fear I may have put them in the wrong order, so they may be from different times. Sorry.

The Iceland delivery arrived.
The driver kindly took the carrier bags to the kitchen for me. Thanks.
At long last, there is food in the fridge. I felt guilty when Carer Chloe found all the food out of date the other day. Was it yesterday? Who knows, not me. Hehehe!
The three bags of frozen food to the right in the photo on the left cost me just a pound! They were battered fishcakes, battered fish, and battered potatoes. Lovely!
The fridge looked a little fuller now, and while putting things away, I decided to have lamburgers in wholemeal bread rolls, maybe with some tomatoes and potatoes, as well. Or Marmite rice cakes—I might like that.
Slurp & Yummy!

I’ll get some time in on the WP Reader and then sort out the meal. I’m getting tired now, but I’ve kept calmer and more accepting of the situations.

I managed to get these snaps in here in the morning. Just before CorelDraw crashed again! Fed up? YES!
Kitchen window before the rain poured down.

I thought I’d remember from which of the different views I’d taken these from, but CorelDraw kept refusing to allow me to save the odd one and I go confused as to which was which.
I think this one on the left was taken higher in the sky.
Such beautiful clouds before the storm didn’t look like they were holding rain to drop on us. Hehe!
I’m sure this on on the right was take to my right, towards the North. Blue patches of sky coming through. You ca see part of the outer of the balcony in this shot. I got back onto the computer.

CORELDRAW SCARE!
I saved the CorelDraw Graphics and pressed to turn off the programme. The screen darkened, and a message came up;
Crucial CorelDraw Update – click to install.
So, I clicked “Turn off CorelDraw until the installation guide appears.” But the CorelDraw screen was shaded and unreachable!
The update started. Finished, and no Installation Guide.
I clicked the open CorelDraw 2024 button…
Nothing happened.
So, I closed things down and pressed the restart computer option. The computer loaded. I clicked the CoralDraw button, and it started to load, but it crashed!
I tried again. It started to load, but it crashed!
In desperation, I turned off the computer. Gave it a few minutes before starting from scratch again.
I clicked the CoralDraw button, and it started to load. Then, a form to fill in and return appeared, telling me that CorelDraw had closed unexpectedly and asking me to fill it in and send an email to the… well, I assume there are some real people at CorelDraw or IT clones. Still, I’ve filled this block in dozens of times and never got a reply.
I don’t suppose I will this time either.
However, CorelDraw carried on loading this time before it crashed again.
After the trying day, I was in low spirits, so I just turned everything off and had the lamburgers.
We’ll see what happens with CorelDraw in the morning.

One feeling downtrodden, a failure, and with poor Little Inchies fungal lesion being caused pain via the Catheter Contraption stuck in him; My thoughts were not exactly of contentment, more resentment. I caught an accidental look in the wet room mirror as I washed, and Gawd, did I look pale or what! Tsk!

The urine looks a decent colour. Carer Sam thought it was number 3 on the NHS scale.

I started the ablutions. I cut shaving cream, cut gums while cleaning my teeth, and stubbed my toe against the support bar. These were not unusual incidents; they were everyday incidents. Hehehe!
The ankle ulcer looked likely to erupt again. But blessedly, the Left and were rare today, as indeed they were last night in bed, only had three.
I noticed that the finger’s mystery blue patches were back again. They don’t hurt, and it’s not often I can say that about my ailments, especially the catheter tube giving Little Inchy so much stick!
The cut lip from yesterday’s was scabbing up already. I could see it later on, and the blood flowed.

I opened the window to take this shot but got wet in the rain.
I closed it and took this shot as the rain suddenly got a lot heavier. I’d like to point out that I didn’t trap my finger! I’d turned off the flash, so I think the flash on the photo must have been from the reflection of the lightbulb.

Sorted the waste bins into one bag.

The end car park mudslide was building up.

I got on with updating yesterday’s blog. But for some unknown reason, the damned tube was so painful this morning. And it felt again, just like yesterday, that I thought I was getting a backflow? Still, it’s only pain. Luckily, I have an incredible pain tolerance level and am a brave, heroic sort of chap, you know.
It made concentration difficult, and, of course, many mistakes were made and corrected. I expect I missed many.

Carer Shaquille called. Medicated me, put the diabetic socks on for me, and the light build blew! He heard it crack!
I got the spare out of the cabinet, and he offered to swap the bulbs. He’s a tall lad who could reach up easily enough.
It took him ages, as the bayonet in the socket had a bit of plastic broken off, making it difficult to fit it in, but he did it. The replacement bulb had a clear glass. Boy, it’s got a bright light; neither of us could believe it.
Thank you, Shaquille! Saved the day!

I tried to concentrate on the blog as best as I could. Cock-up, following a mistake, quickly followed by another error.

Carer Sam arrived. I was telling her about the problem and pain with the Catheter. (Which, incidentally, eased off a lot of hours later.) However, the pains started almost the second Little Inchie got some respite.
It’s being so lucky that keeps me going, you know.

Still raining!

I think this was an unintentional snap that I took. I’m not sure what I Kodak-Tim’d.

The flow of urine increased. It suddenly became less frequent that I had to empty the pouch. And I was busy blogging (or making mistakes), so I wasn’t drinking anywhere near the usual spring water intake. But what I was passing was gin clear with none of the fluffy bits in it. I was baffled and in pain at the same time. After about an hour, the flow restarted.
Then the pain lessened, still there, but far less severe.
I thought, what’s going on here?

Carer Israel arrived as I was emptying the pouch into the jug.
He pointed out that the fluffy bits were back again! Embarrassingly, he looked at the tube entry point and noticed that light brown gunk around the plastic tube had also returned. He wanted to ring the Doctor for me. But the pain was easier to cope with. (Of course, it got worse later. Tsk!)

It’s still raining!

Took this shot later. Came out fairly well.
Apart from the blotchy smudges, of course.

I noticed this advertisement when looking for local snippets earlier in the day.
It reminded me of my cyber buddy, Tim Price in New Mexico. He’s a clever photographer and naturist, amongst other qualities. He lives near a bosque, and his photographs of the local Owls are just great. Here’s one in particular that I think should be in a nature or art gallery.
Brilliant!
I’d loved to have gone on a visit to see the baby owls.

This is the early morning shot of the mudslide.
This one is how it looks now! Wet!

I think the rain is easing off.

Ten minutes later – Yes, at last!

A late call from Carer Israel is due anytime now.
Then it’s food, then Kip for me!
Israel arrived. My socks were taken off, medication was given, and he checked the Catheter for me. Gunk still leaking from the tube at the insertion point. Tsk!

Food attended to.

How did you do?
Well, that should have been easy enough.
Even I got two of them. Hehe!

06:15hrs: The old codger awoke. He found himself appreciating that he’d woken up overnight for only about six times. Much better than the previous two nights. Three by his , and the same by . He had a rumbling grumbling in his stomach.
He then emptied his nocturnal catheter pouch. Not pleased with the amount of blood that seemed to be in his passed urine. He… well, I (Slipped into the second person mode there, sorry), I grabbed hold of  and off to the wet room. WC duties first, and what a session this one was! The evacuated missile clunked into the WC bowl; it was wedged with about a quarter of it out of the water, and covered with the after-flow of a small dollop of high-quality stinky splashes from ‘s follow-up flow.

Ablutions and medicalisationing tasks were carried out. But, not without the odd . Here they are… Maybe not in order as they happened, but at least I can remember them: Cut my neck shaving, only a tiny one, no bother. Teeth and gums bleeding. All but went over getting the PPs on; I hate that balancing job.  The urine flowing into the pouch looked a bit bloodied. And needed cleaning up again and ointmentating.
But, I got it all done in under two hours. And then as a parting shot as I left the wet room, I shoulder charged against the door frame, and set off . Went back in and got some Phorpain gel on the shoulder where I could reach to rub it in. Oh, and I trapped my finger in the cupboard door. People won’t believe my good luck… or lack of it!

Carer Marie called. In a rush, but we managed a mini-natter. Then I spent hours making errors as I tried to get the blog started.
Carer Kara called next. She was in a rush, too. However, she did sort out the problem I had with the TV yesterday. Did it in two minutes. (I did feel a fool not being able to get it done myself) Bless her. She shot off, and I was lonely again, just like when Marie departed. Sad, innit? Hahaha!
I got a snack made up to satisfy my sudden hunger.  Some Microwave chips, Eurgh! Milk Roll bread, and soy franks. Nice!
Taste Rating: 5.2/10.
Washed the things, and spotted some unusual activity of Devon close. On, Cavendish Close. So,  I got from the kitchen and concentrated on getting clear photographs of whatever it was that was going on.
But it was only some resurfacing of the road.
I really must get to the opticians to get the eyes tested again… but then… if I do it will cost hundreds of quid, and the the Glaucoma operation is due shortly. Of course, I was talking in the NHS 1960’s mode there – what I meant was, (back to 2024); The Glaucoma operation may be due within three or four years, if I live long enough!

A kitchen window photo to the right was taken first.
No idea what it was, but I loved this one. Nothing special on shoe, but I found it appealling.
Then I took one of the lowering sun to the left of the window.
At this stage, the night Carer called. It was nibble-nibbling Carer Christopher. We had a chinwag, but he wasn’t listening. Nothing new there. He took the laundry bag with him, it wasn’t full though. Laughs, and lads insults were swapped. Hehehe!
.I almost got caught out when the catheter day pouch suddenly filled so quickly again – all okay though, nae bother. It was emptying slowly for some reason unknown to me.
When to get second and last brew of tea, .
And the beautiful sight of the sun setting caught my eye. I had no other choice than to go back to the computer to get the camera, and return to take these shots of the views offered me by Mother Nature. Gorgeous, even if not as good as they might have been.
Ten minutes later, I caught the sun just as it was about to disappear over the horizon, and out of view. Lovely!
Finally got the blog finished and posted off to WordPress.

I watched the TV at the same time as starting this blog going. But it ended up not being. I found so many mistakes on the blog I’d posted earlier, that it took me an hour to correct them all. Even then, I probably missed a few.

The baby baguettes at the side of the tray of potato hot-pot, shows up just how measily the mini-sized Parsley Box meal was.

Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit! Over six hours of sleep, with just one wake-up early in the morning, about 05:00hrs, after I’d had the dream about the end of mankind & the planet. I scribbled some memory notes to help me in recall for the writing about it on the ode for today. (above). It was like a documentary. Forecasts, images and disasters were being revealed. Constantly changing between countries and different types of catastrophes. All of them, humankind made.   I did wonder if had had a hand in creating this nightmare, well, morningmare? Apparently, the end will come in three years’ time. But by the time it ends, judging by the details given to me, those still left on earth will be glad to see the back of it. Millions of humans committed suicide, genocide, fratricides, sororicides, infanticides, homicides, general populicides, and a few tyrannicides as well. Still, it made a nice change to wake up with something on my mind. Hehe!
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

At 0605hrs, I emerged from the aged, grotty-looking c1966 made, charity-shop-bought, horribly beige-coloured, £300, Harold’s Haemorrhoid-testing, non-operational, acne-giving, virus-breeding, rickety, easy-to-fall-out-of recliner, with scribble on the note pad to create an ode about the dream for this blog. And that was all I seemed interested in.
The nocturnal catheter pouch urine was darker today. This makes me worry about the District Nurses taking off the entire on Monday, to see if I can manually wee-wee. If it is this colour when they arrive, I can’t see them bothering. They may decide to book me in for a permanent catheter option? I pray not!

I got on the computer, but as soon as I started using it…
Down it went! But I got it back within 15 minutes. Then spent a good one-and-a-half hours making the Dream Ode.

Sorted the waste bags out.

Went to the kitchenette, and the morning mist up high was obliterating views from the window.
The first shot I took, had the flash on.
The 2nd at least you can see the houses.
Neither photos were very good.

Then… nervously off to the wet room. But only slightly this time. Messy again, but at least there were a few torpedo-shaped chunks in there. Haha!

The feet and toes looked surreal with their oh-so-white toe ends. Otherwise, they were looking good.

The Carer Arrived. Had a natter while she did the medicationings and eye drops.

Worked on yesterday’s blog, and within three hours I’d updated and posted it off to WordPress!

Before starting on today’s photos, I fetched an ice cream cornet from the freezer – it was far too soft, so I expect my leaving the freezer door open has done more damage than I expected. When I get time, I’ll have to dish some stuff.

Took a photo to the left of the flats.
Where the morning sun is still behind Mapperley Hill.
Then straight ahead.

I adjusted the strapping on the catheter. Not very well, though. Carer Victor arrived and readjusted the straps for me. Where did the time go? afternoon already!

Wee-weeing well… but…
see how it comes out of the pouch?

Better tackle the ablutioning now. This is going to be a long job. Getting things together and ready to go in.
Oh, I’ll do the waste first. Been tidying up… Oh, Yes!
13:12hrs: To the Wet Room! Charrrge! Well, I limped in.
Pleased with the shaving while standing in a bowl of water at the sink. No trips, slips or balance problems. I even got out and washed and dried the bowl, harm-free!
And as for the shaving, huh, only two cuts! Honestly!
The showering I admit was a bit of a farce. Hit my head on the power box. dropped the loofah twice, and stubbed my toe on the flipping shower chair leg.
Drying off, I knocked a selection of things off of the floor cabinet. I took two photographicalisations of the mess, but neither made it to the SD card.

Even getting into the Protection pants was relatively easy today? I’m not saying it was easy; I meant it was less painful, and no injuries were involved. But it still hurt! Hahaha!

15:15hrs; All done. Got some potatoes in the oven, and back to the computer to get on with this blog.
Getting tired now (16:25hrs), so I’ll get the nosh sorted out.

Carer Marie arrived as I was planning the meal. Showed me a way to shred cheese in a safer way; bless her.
I got on with making the cheesy potatoes, with some of Jenny’s yellow & red tomatoes, fishless fish sticks, And sliced beetroot. The strawberry dessert was on its last sell-by date.
Flavour Rating: 9/10!

I took some snaps earlier, that I forgot to put in here. Well fancy that; Me! forgetting something!
Sky to the North.
Sky to the North, a little higher.
A later shot of the same area.
Even earlier and missed off, a shot of the car park end.

Went into the wet room, to change my PP’s…
and clean & medicate my lower region.
I was flabbergasted to see that the bruise on the left thigh, that I got when taking the last tumble, and two days later had completely vanished – was back again? Impossible, surely? I haven’t taken any knocks or falls for days now.
Ah, unless I took a knock nocturnally… could be?

Carer Victor did the last call. I was asleep when he came, and have little knowledge of how things went, but he had put the night pouch on for me. Getting back to sleep took a while, and when I got there, there were the odd flapping and threshing about awakenings. But at least didn’t go on and on as he has been doing; in fact, he’s given me two nights off… but he’s back, but not with a vengeance this time.

TTFNski, each!

Up at 03:30hrs: Nocturnal Pouch is a smidge dark but has been much worse. But also betterer!

The feet and ankles looked calmer this morning.

Early morning shot of the kitchen’s window blue-view

Porcelain Throne visited.

Computer on…

Carer Richard arrived. Alarm tested. Eye drops and meds were issued. The lad was at the end of his shift; he looked so tired out. I forgot to ask him about his Diabetes visit last week. If he calls tomorrow I’ll ask him.

Got the waste bags sorted out.
Kitchen shot, when looking for some Paracetamol in the medical drawer. There were none in there again. I’ve added the limit allowed, one packet to my Asda order and amended it online. Humph! That means I’ll run out again.

A phone call from the District Nurses HQ.
They will be coming on Monday 18th Sept, to remove the . To give me a chance to pass urine on my own. If it works, I will be Catheter-FREE!
If not, which I and my EQ, and medical history expect will be the case; A permanent catheter will be fitted for me, in the Nottingham City Hospital Urology Campus. My last experiences with the bladder problem in that place left a sour taste in my mouth, I’m afraid. While having the catheter in and out again repeatedly after each failed attempt to correct the problem, or even to identify it, I was in a bed without any curtains, next to a chap having similar tests. And having an I  could have done without the obvious comparing from people walking by!
He, being hung like an elephant and me with Little Inchie, my embarrassment was colossal. You remember things like that! Still, you never know; my luck has to change sometime, I thought – almost hearing laughter from Alto-Ego & EQ!

Carer Victor arrived. Did his medicationings and eye drops, and I took his Blood Pressure. This is how the Carers BP returns look now;

Afternoon view.

My ankles & feet, definitely improving!
Although toe-ends were still white.

Delivery of Catheter Day bags.

The INR Letter with yet another change in Warfarin dosages.
The doctor’s surgery rang with the details. took the phone and amended the paperwork on the Meridian folder front for me. A much better INR figure of 2.8 now.
There will be no visit from my beloved nurse Hristina until Monday the 15th of September. Sob!

Time to get something to eat methinks. So I did!

A cheese & onion pastie, covered with a jar of bean and soy stew. I added some Worcester Sauce and sea salt. Many slices of Milk Roll bread dipped in it while eating. Excellent flavouring! Taste-Rating 9.4/10 Grrreat!

Turned the computer off, and served up the nosh. Settling into the 1966, £300 charity shop bought, second-hand, wincingly grotty, beige coloured, not working, crumb-covered from the nocturnal nibblings, itch-making, uncomfortable, virus-breeding, easy-to-fall-out-of, recliner to feast!

Did the last call, just as was drifting off into sleep. He did the eye drops and attached the night bag to .

I attempted to get to sleep again, unsuccessfully.
I got up, and into the balcony to have a look around, then to the kitchenette to take this photo.
Nocturnal puffer clouds around the sun as it dipped. beyond the horizon, so quickly it seemed to me. Lovely view!

Back to the £300, second-hand shop bought nine years ago, c1966, discomfiting, crap beige-coloured, crumb-containing, TV remote hiding, not working recliner.
But no interest was shown in letting me sleep from Sweet Morpheus. I can’t blame , ’cause he left me alone, not a single thought storm!.
I reckon I managed to get around 3.5hrs, all the same.
Which was a lot better than of late.

Hehehe!

Computer Problems again today…
It makes me want to run away,
I am in utter bemusement and dismay…
Baffling errors and inarticulacy…
Is Doreen’s Dementia getting at me?
Or is it my ignorance and fatuity?
I’m drained; I’ve no willpower or tenacity...
Oh, for some peace and simplicity!.

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

On waking up. A positive bad ‘7’ level, methinks!
And the outflowing wee-wee really stinks!
Emptying it, I had a Dizzy, & pain in the knee joints,
The voices in my head… all ginks!

The morning view… was rather blue

I’d decided, as the Urine colour was so high on the chart.
I thought it would be a good idea to drink more fluid,
other than tea. I tempted myself to try the no-alcohol
Bud drink. I wish I’d got more in now, it was very nice!

Went to get the ablutions sorted out. It took a while! During
this, I had three decent shaving cuts, dropped a razor three
times, and utilised the Porcelain Throne three times!
Damned messy evacuations they were, as well!

Got the dressing gown and a shirt top on and hobbled into the
kitchenette. With no tablets got yet from the chemist, or delivered,
were coming on again.

Made a brew of Glengettie.
Took these snaps of the strange lighting this morning.

Carer Kara ♥ had a go at the computer problems for me.
I kept finding new ones after the gal had gone.
Spent far too many hours struggling with the issues.
None solved as such, but somehow or other, I’ve got
it going, although with difficulty and new problems.
In a pickle with this!

Got some great photographs of the odd afternoon clouds
with the Sun suddenly getting through.
Pareidolia’s delight!
What was the mouse? Has a map on it seconds later?
Fantastic wider shot!
A close-up of the sun.

Carer Sam then Kara called ♥

Another horrendously messy Porcelain Throne session.
These Loperamides are not as good as the Pharma ones
were at helping stop the liquid evacuations.

Mistakes computing, a long, long mind-blank, and seemed as if I had just woken up – but had not been sleeping? Erm...

Carer Joseph arrived. And after he’s departed, I~ sat down and did
nod off this time. Woke to see these beauties in the sky…

More Pareidolia’s delight!
Seem’s the sun is spewing out a monster…
Can you see this? Or is it just me?
A Genie, mayhap? Hehehe!
An eagle above?
The Eagle cloud close-up!
It seems that the dark clouds are trying to extinguish the sun?

Gave up making errors and mistakes and getting all frustrated
doing this blog. Only got a little done anyway. Have to finish it
in the morning. And got the potatoes in the oven and seasoned the veg in the veg in a saucepan. Getting tired but hungry…

I burnt the same spot on the hand as I did last week, taking the tray of spuds out of the oven.

Nice meal!
Made too much again. (I often do that?)

Very bad today.

TTFN.

A bright morning with snow.

Bright-looking urine in the bag is good!

Down to just four visits today.

Email from Asda – order on its way.

Made a brew of Glengettie.

Asda order arrived.
.
Pondered on whether to have casserole for a nosh?
Put the rest of the fodder away.
Fridge before and after delivery.
Note that it is not full!
Tried the Vegan butter later. It didn’t
spread well, but tasted grand!

Took some more view photos of the light snowfall. See
above… Not the houses, which I reckon must either have
a Cannabis farm in the loft, that, or they are so rich
that they can afford to heat the attic? Hehehe!

.

The footfall in the snowfall, in the bottom field.

Later, a man and his dog caught my attention.
Well, it was the wildly wagging tail of the dog
mainly. Boy, that dog loved the snow!

During the day, I had the attention of Carer Josef,
Carer Adele, also & I think Carer Carolynne.
But since the arrival of
any name could well be the wrong one.
Sorry about that!

The snow gave us another covering.

Throne visit six attended. Every one of the
previous sessions were a watery-gurgling mess.
This one was the complete opposite..
lost out to the new King

followed the evacuation.

Then, I walked into the door frame on my way out...
And pulled the  tubing

.
Undaunted by this mini-series of S,
I made a refreshing mug of Thompson’s Punjana tea…
Taking the first drink of it at the computer,
gave me a nudge,
and the mug and tea dropped from my grasp!
Of course, I took this in my usual casual, calm,
devil-may-care-but-not-me nonchalance.
.
I was close to crying with frustration!

I made the meal of the day…
I’d forgotten about the potatoes in the slow cooker. Not that
I needed them; I’d gone a smidge.OTT without them.
The plant butter on the bread rolls tasted wonderful.

Did a bit on this blog, mostly getting things wrong, lost
all concentration as my eyes failed, and my head
drooped. I gave up!

Would you believe it? Another visit!

It is now Sunday morning at 01:35hrs. I’ve had a bad day with the concentration, mind-blanks, a tumble, and the mind has not been my own.
Worrying, which comes oh, so easily nowadays, has played a big part in my Saturday sadly-sinking morale. The arrival of the 2nd food order in two days brought on feelings of guilt and shame. Shame that I cannot seem to be logical about anything at all.
This afternoon, when I made a snack and was washing up the few pots used, Weariness-Willy walloped me. I could do nothing but get sat down and drifted into a deep sleep that even the daymares did not spoil – for while dreaming… the usual, distorted things from the early years, somehow I knew I was dreaming and was pleased that I was sleeping. Had Doreen’s Dementia played any part in this catastrophically depressing, mind-wandering Samstag?

First photo of the day. Followed later…
By three more.

Wash and nearly dressed. No trews was put on. I’m not going out anywhere, so a relief for the and me!

The accidentally ordered food arrived…

Porridge and noodles stocked up!

Special Prices on Surf.

Fridge overloaded.

Battered Sticks on offer.

Hello, I’m wee-weeing well!

Then came the mind blank, the big one.
The Carers came, but I can’t recall much or who.

I had a snack of sorts

A pot noodles, and a pot of potatoes.

Weariness-Willy Attacked.
Turned off the computer and
did as the body told me to… I

Woke many hours later and arrived
to destroy my daydreaming. This is when I think I.
waffled on a bit. But maybe not? Yes… I did!

Got back on the computer.
Went to make a brew..

Took some night shots; I’d missed the sunset

Humph!

I went back to the computer and saw signs of my
having been nibbling rather a lot in the bin…

How could I do that and not realise it?

I worked on this blog for several hours.
It was suddenly… to me, 03:20hrs!
Where did the day go?

Made some nosh.
It was horrible!

Got down in the c1966. charity shop bought, second-hand, wincingly grotty, beige coloured, not working, crumb-covered from the nocturnal nibblings, itch-making, uncomfortable, virus breeding, easy-to-fall-out-of, recliner.

The legs and ankles were looking much improved.

Put the TV on, anything with subtitles…
But it was not needed. Around 04:00hrs, I drifted off into the land of blissfulness and peace.
But, as tired out as I felt, Sweet Morpheus mocked me and woke me up with a jump and jerk several times. The Git!
